Received my Trinity opened and broken and was not the model advertised. They were advertising the Trinity Pro which is a totally different model than what I got. Tried returning it. Thought the seller was providing a paid tracking only to find out that I had to pay for my own tracking number. After 4 days called Newegg and the rep stated that they (Overstock deals) Received my return and to expect a return on Friday. 2 hours later Received a email that the vendor voided my return. Reason "Never Received". This is so fraudulent I can't even handle it. Numerous calls to customer service and all that they can repeat over and over that this is not their problem. HOW CAN A COMPANY SAY THAT THEY VOIDED IT WITHIN 4 DAYS NOT RECEIVED!!!??? They obviously got it, saw there was no tracking and lied about getting my return. I will never do business with this company again! I want my money back!

When I placed an order through eBay, The merchandise Newegg.com sent me an email to void my order because my credit card information does not match. I used PayPal to pay and I confirmed with PayPal that the money has been reached to newegg.com Besides, Newegg.com would never able to get my credit card info because PayPal would not give my credit card info to Newegg.com (That's the only good thing about using PayPal). The worst part is that I had a U.S. 10 coupon from eBay to use it the same day to make a purchase. They asked me to re-order again but my U.S. 10 coupon is gone. I asked them to give me an exclusive link to make the purchase to offset the U.S. 10 dollars. Newegg declined. What??? Newegg.com would give me a 10 dollar credit to make the purchase next time.

I really don't want to have anything to do with Newegg.com anymore. A lot of sellers in eBay. I have never experienced my order is being cancel even if my money goes through. Newegg.com doesn't write me an email for discussion and just cancel my order. Declined giving me an exclusive link to make the purchase. Their computer system just does not work. Newegg.com had really bad customer service. If nothing goes wrong, all good. If something goes wrong, this is the customer's problem. I am going to put this experience in my Facebook, LinkedIn and social media. Let the whole world knows what Newegg is doing.

I ordered a graphics card from Newegg as their website claims "Trusted and Certified" along with "Low Prices on Quality Products". Well that might be true. Just not quite how you'd think. I'm certain they're trusted and certified. Trusted by the owners to make them money, and certified to be a pain in the ass when you need something fixed. Live chat is a joke, as it's quite clearly a chatbot that is responsive based on your choices leading up to the chat opening. Things that a human would easily understand are misunderstood due to the identification of keywords that are programmed into an algorithm that seeks keywords and generates generic responses that are slightly tailored to the current user.

I happen to get very sarcastic when using these services but that's actually okay, since bots don't actually have feelings to hurt. Ever wonder how on earth they have a 24/7 Chat Service? There you have it. Bots. They don't have to sleep, and Newegg doesn't have to waste their shiftily made profits on wages for representatives with both good personalities AND decent computer skills. That's the wrong kind of efficiency.

Now for the calling service. What fun! After about thirty minutes of having my call lost, I managed to get through the menu. Yes, it took me 30 minutes to get through the menu. Then came the hold time! I stopped keeping track after 45 minutes when I launched Skyrim and left the phone on speaker. An entire questline later, the representative picked up. I took the phone off speaker, and began explaining my situation. The rep never gave their name, by the way, good job on that. I can't call you out now.

In Customer Service, attitude is everything, and the customer is not always right, but attitude is everything. Apparently this representative was the embodiment of that. Not the whole principle mind, just the attitude. The sass, disinterest, and utter disregard for what was going on quite frankly pissed me off. I've been in Customer Service, and I have never talked to a Customer as rudely as this person, whoever they are, did to me. No matter how bad my day was. I've never encountered anyone so disgustingly rude to a Customer in my life.

I know working with people who are angry and potentially rude is stressful, but this level of unpleasantness is never okay. Most memorable of quotes is: "Do you have a higher up I could speak to, please. And what's your name?" "My name is Felecia, cuz byeeee!" They hung up. They hung up on a customer. I honestly could do nothing but just sit with the phone in my hand and just listen to the dial tone. I was just stunned. There is no other word for it. I was dumbfounded. Complete loss for words.

I'm no longer at a loss for words, because I'm writing this, but I cannot believe they have someone like that as a representative. It's appalling. If they end up not giving the refund, fine, but they had damn well better send that graphics card back, and I'm NOT paying for shipping. All I had wanted to do was link the package to my RMA, and I got this. I will never shop from Newegg again. I don't even care if not all representatives are like that. I'm just sickened by this whole thing. This was the first thing I ever bought from Newegg. I guarantee it will be the last, too.

On 8/22/16 I placed an order for two items: a CPU @ $319.99 and a CPU Cooler @ $39.99. The order totaled $359.98, and I paid the total amount with PayPal. Almost immediately I received what I've come to know as standard emails from Newegg and from Paypal - Newegg confirming receipt of my order and PayPal confirming that I had placed an order with Newegg in the amount of $359.98 and advising me that the money would not leave my account until Newegg processed my order.

The Newegg 'order confirmation' email revealed that Newegg had broken my order down under two, separate order numbers; #** for the CPU and #** for the CPU Cooler. Shortly after placing the order, I received another email from Newegg advising me that payment for order #** had been charged and so order verification was complete, but still another email from Newegg said that authorization for the charges for order #** had failed. That didn't make sense because the total amount for the order ($359.98) was authorized for payment by PayPal when I placed the order.

I contacted Newegg via their website Chat feature. The lady nicely told me "they didn't know why PayPal didn't authorize the full payment". That statement, of course, is preposterous because PayPal in fact DID authorize payment of the full amount (and told me the money would not leave my account until Newegg processed the order). So it is very obvious that Newegg did not process the order properly. Nevertheless, the Chat Rep took no action (that I know of) to determine what went wrong and rectify the situation - she just gave me the option to pay for the item by credit card or cancel and reorder. I had no desire to change the payment method I had already chosen and executed, and I had no desire to reorder something Newegg had messed up. But I also had no use for a new, expensive CPU without a suitable cooler to go with it. So I asked the Chat Rep to cancel the entire order, which she did.

Today I received an email from PayPal stating that I had received a $319.99 refund from Newegg. Interestingly, and confirming what I have said, it shows that the purchase amount was $359.98 and that $319.99 was refunded. There still is no explanation as to why Newegg refused or failed to process the $39.99 portion of my order.

This unprofessional service incident follows an earlier incident of a few months ago wherein I ordered Tubular, LED, Fluorescent Replacement Light Bulbs that were advertised on sale on the Newegg website. My order was accepted by Newegg but then the third party vendor cancelled the order without explanation and failed to reply when I inquired about the cancellation. I contacted Newegg Customer Service because, after all, Newegg is who I ordered from and who took my payment and accepted my order, but Customer Service didn't seem to care that a long-time customer had been sluffed-off. They (Customer Service) said it was a pricing issue, but I never bought that because the light bulbs were advertised in different varieties at sale prices with a 'braggart clause' claiming that buyers were saving ** amount of money.

I never knew why my order was cancelled, and I see no justification for it. In fact, it would be illegal in a brick and mortar store in my state to do such a thing without full disclosure of any limitations to the advertised sale price. Customer Service insulted me with a $10 discount on a future order and considered the matter closed. Because of that incident, I refrained from ordering from Newegg for some time but eventually went back because of the convenience of using PayPal. But that convenience is now being offset by poor service. I've been a Newegg customer for a long time. I 'cut-my-computer-teeth' with gear bought from Newegg and, back then, their service was great. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for them now.

It took over a month to get, so I ordered something on Amazon instead, and now it's too long to return it. I Will NEVER order from them again. I never even opened the box.

Stay away from Newegg based on internet reviews and my experience. I have been in a battle for near 30 days trying to return a defective product sent via a firm they use. All goes through Newegg until a problem arises then not their concern. After multiple emails stating a refund was issued I get confirmation it was issued today and for the incorrect amount. They ignored early requests I sent as to getting a authorization number for return.

Their rep. had no clue as to their own return policy and then gave me incorrect information. They would ask the same questions and delay away. One email would state they issued a refund and another would say we send your return USPS tracking number so we can review for such refund. I called them and was given a problem resolution number then the same questions would be asked. The incompetency is overwhelming.

I only wish I had looked at their online reviews as many have similar problems. They state they USE to be a good company but not anymore. I will never use them again. I am trying to alert all the sites I can as to my and others being treated poorly. My order number is under my name so look it up Newegg. I still need $9.45 from you. You delayed sending me a prepaid USPS label and then mailed it late after your rep told me to send it to the other company and that postage would be included. It was not. Newegg Marketplace Order **. The battle continues.

Just HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered a desktop PC which was supposed to be delivered in three days (and which I paid extra to have delivered in three days!). Tracking number was sent to me but there was never any tracking info available on FedEx's website. Now, the day prior to the original scheduled delivery, I get an email stating that the delivery won't be until next week, which is over a week after the initial order. This pretty much screws me, as I needed the computer NOW, not next week. Called Newegg who said there is nothing they can do, and blamed it on their "third party off-site shipping vendor warehouse" or some such crap.

Same computer is about $50 more on Amazon; I think I should have paid the extra and bought it from Amazon instead, since I never run into this type of situation with Amazon. Guess that's what I get for trying to save a buck -- but I'll certainly know better in future. Never had a problem with Newegg in the past, but after reading some of these other recent reviews, it is obvious that something has happened and their customer service has totally gone downhill.

Very disappointing service - they value more on their profit over customer satisfaction.

I have purchased a great deal from Newegg over many years but recently I've decided this will be no more. I had ordered a motherboard awhile back for an HTPC project I was building. After I placed the order, I decided instead just to buy a fully assembled computer for the task. My fault, so I didn't try to return the board. I just left it with my many parts and didn't think much about it, then decided I would just sell it on eBay. The buyer opened it to discover that there were no accessories and five pins in the CPU socket were bent, so the board was trash. I felt bad not having checked it myself so I went to Newegg and ordered another, the same model as a "gift" and gave the name and address of my eBay buyer so it would be sent directly to them.

In a couple of days, I checked the tracking info to see if he had received it and what did I discover? That they are sending the item directly to me instead of the person I gifted. Their chat is closed, their text messaging is closed, they aren't answering their phones, and their email customer service does not work. I am so upset. I have already lost a ton of money on this and now I'll probably have to re-ship it myself, at more cost and time. Newegg has lost me as a customer.

Newegg shipped to me expensive graphics card with time limited rebate and postal package in which it arrived has showed signs of significant impact damage. Newegg customer service then agreed that we see does the card still work and return it if it doesn't. Customer support was slow to respond. At no point did agent warned that I would have to choose between submitting rebate and keeping right to return non-functional item. When I had multiple problems with the card including failure of the fan blade, they used the fact that I have claimed time limited rebate (which required UPC code) to refuse exchange and point me to manufacturer, in full knowledge that manufacturer may charge me for repairing that type of damage, and without any hard commitment to cover costs of repair. Spent a lot of time working with support, didn't got impression that customer satisfaction was focus.

I would be careful doing any business with Newegg in the future. I feel that the only reasonable action on getting any damaged packet when working with this company is to return it without opening package. If I did so, I wouldn't be in the position I am today. In the case that anyone from Newegg bothers responding - unless I update this review, assume that that is because they have not resolved the issue to my satisfaction.

Just empty. I said maybe it needs some time, so the next day still nothing and I started getting confused and I could feel that something was wrong. I made the payment through my Paypal account $660.07 AUD. I contacted Newegg first through their live chat thing. The lady told me that she cant see any order even though I gave her all the info she asked.

Later that night I called Newegg C/S and I talked with a man. Then after an hour of talking the only thing he found was the exact same amount of money and day of payment with a different address and name in Australia. And after that, "Sorry I cant help you. Anything else that I can assist you with?" Yes Hit your head on the desk a few times cause I lost a $660. My only hope is to get my money back from paypal. Upon opening the item the main unit that mounts to the desk and is supposed to be tension loaded fell apart. Upon reviewing the instructions the parts in the inventory portion showed none of the parts I had.

Upon looking at the unit the parts were supposed to be on the pre built tray holder and I couldn't put them back together because they were smashed. All of the screws, nuts and washers had missing items. Basically down by one part on all of the items. The screws, washers, and bolts weren't even in a bag and were just loose in the box. The tray had what looked like tool marks and as if someone tried putting the unit together previously and failed. I tried to return the item and Newegg's web page said the item was not eligible for return. So long story short. They send you broken, pre returned merchandise and then deny you a refund and return option. What a joke!

Item ordered on JUL 01. Immediately realized should have ordered from Amazon because Amazon had same item at same promo price, free shipping, and earlier delivery date. Called NewEgg and requested order cancellation. They could not guarantee cancellation ("We'll try...") and advised I had to wait until later that evening for email with order status. NewEgg emails notification later that evening that item already shipped and I abandoned my plans to order from Amazon and waited for NewEgg item to arrive. Item damaged during transit by FedEx (per Fedex tracking) and returned to NewEgg by FedEx (I did not refuse the item; never reached my address). Called NewEgg for replacement order at same promo price. Item now off promotion and back to regular price at both NewEgg and Amazon.

New Egg would not honor replacement at same promo price and arbitrarily cites my attempt to cancel order as justification. After at least a 1/2 hour on the phone with the C/S - and not until I made her look very stupid for clinging to her twisted logic - she had no other choice but to issue a refund for the difference when I ordered replacement items. After the conversation ended, I thought better of it and notified NewEgg to forget it, issue full credit and I didn't want to do business with them ever again (mainly on philosophical grounds). I immediately ordered the same item from Amazon - for $20 more. These people (NewEgg) are about as sleazy, greedy, manipulative and deceptive as it gets. It's like an online shell game/card trick/slight-of-hand. Broken Eggs...

Newegg has always been a good company for buying products. Right up until the product is DOA, defective in some way, or just generally needs to be returned. Did you know Newegg says if you try to put a piece of hardware into a computer and find out it doesn't work or is defective means you broke it. That's right every time you use what you buy if it doesn't work it's because you broke it. Because "physical damage includes but is not limited to, improper handling, permanently altering a product or any other type of damaged sustained due to irregular usage." They misrepresent the card as pci e 3.0 16x when it's 8x and I should contact the manufacturer because I can't return it now. Which is what they use to try to get you to never get a refund or RMA.

They always try to force you to warranty the product. I have in all honesty had more troubles than I've actually had positive experiences with Newegg. Their rebates are always a scam because you never actually get the rebate. It's hard to even write a 10 year review when you stop and start having to think of all the times they ripped you off. I'm forced to think of the dozen or so times I've given them money and gotten nothing for it. I guess I'm glad others haven't had as bad as an experience as me because I wouldn't wish the 10 years as a consumer at Newegg and what I've dealt with to another living soul. My sum is I asked them to delete my account and I won't shop there out of principle anymore. I encourage others to be as careful as possible.

Double check your products boxes, specs, everywhere. Newegg will tell you they only list the information the manufacturer gives them. They use this as an excuse for maintaining inaccurate listings through their entire website. Be sure once you open your product regardless of if it works or not that's the product you want. Because it will be yours forever. My 10 years with Newegg has given me the impression they are happy to not have me as a customer and don't care once they receive the money.

No problem even though it cost me days of lost business. Now my main problem is that I order $140 Windows 7 professional CD and it never came with the product key as they claim it should've on the envelope. They told me it could be inside the box and it wasn't at all. I had to go out and buy another Windows 7 because I have clients who need blueprints done at a certain time. This is the real world and there are deadlines that have to be met. I ordered this computer about 1-2 weeks ago and I still haven't been able to use it because they sent me an operating system CD without the product key rendering the item completely useless.

They refuse to give me a refund on the item when this is 100% their fault. I had absolutely no involvement in this error and yet it's supposed to come out of my pocket? It's supposed to harm my business and the business of my clients? They don't seem to understand that this isn't a personal computer for leisure time. It's an engineering's computer for AutoCad which could be used for government jobs. The computer now works because I had to go out and buy a whole other set of Windows 7 just so I could start working. This is completely unacceptable and I'm at a lost for words! I can't believe a "trusted" and well-known website like Newegg can't take care of their customers when the fault is solely on them. I spent close to $5000 on this computer and they can't even help me out when they messed up? This is the last time they'll be receiving my money.

I ordered a Microsoft Lumia 650 windows phone about a week and a half ago. When the phone arrives I take it out the box, it takes 45 minutes to turn on, then gets the sad face. The dumb phone was bricked, mind you it was brand new. So I tried to start a return online which just keeps putting you in circles. So I call and stay in the phone for a half hour, the guy says he can't return it because it's opened. I'm like, "How in the world are you supposed to check if the product works?" He gives me 21 questions then says he will give me store credit, I say whatever. So I get the email a couple hours later saying the shipping label is on its way. So 3 days later a different CSR writes me an email saying the phone is non refundable and they have basically the same crap the guy on the phone says but in email form. I said eff this. Utter ridiculousness.

Newegg came highly recommended to me by a tech friend of mine so I decided to buy my next laptop through them. I talked with one of their techs & based on his recommendation I purchased an Asus laptop. When I received it I went through the set up process and was surprised at how slow it seemed to be. The first thing I did was set up the Wifi and went online and again was surprised at how slow it seemed to be so I opened the Task Manager and was surprised to see the CPU & Disc usage were at 100%. This was on a Sunday & Newegg was closed so I called Asus & they instructed me to do a factory refresh which I did & ended up with the same problem.

On Monday I called Newegg & was told that the laptop was sold through a third party & that I would need to go through the third party. Newegg e-mailed Vernal Tech (the third party) and instructed them to contact me. The email I received from Vernal Tech asked me to go through the system and identify the process that were running & start deleting items. I refused to spend the time & effort to fix a brand new machine that seemed to be shipped with too much software on it. I then called Newegg again & they told me they would reach out to the third party again & that I could expect a response in 7 to 10 days, which I felt was way too long for a resolution so I waited three days with no response & called them back to check the status & they still refused to give me a Return Authorization Number or refund my money.

So here I am 9 days later with a crappy laptop & terrible customer service from Newegg. Thankfully I used PayPal for the purchase and they have taken over the dispute but it will probably be another week or so before I get my money back. Bottom line Newegg is a joke. This has been one of the worst buying experiences I have ever had & will never purchase another item through Newegg. I recommend that you think twice before giving them your business.

REALLY? We live in a day and age where when you buy a $1,000 laptop and it comes in NOT working, they won't even replace it OR allow us to send back for a refund? I took the time out of my day to ensure they get this feedback, which they deserve. I used to buy many items from them a long time ago, now they are a JUNK company. Purchased an ACER laptop from them and it locks up at Windows install. They refer me to Acer. Acer refers me to them. It's a loop, neither wants to take responsibility for a faulty laptop. NEWEGG DESERVES THIS HORRIBLE REVIEW. Hope they go out of business, we do NOT need a company like this selling online.

I have been a committed Newegg buyer since January 2008. Even knowing prices were cheaper on other websites I still stay dedicated because you were also reliable and trustworthy. My recent order "Order #**" change my entire opinion of Newegg and now makes me look elsewhere for purchases. Order #** is listed as "Item#: N82E16819117676" a Intel Xeon 2760 v3 (Socket 2011-3) "refurbished” for $174.00. This is obviously a great great price because this CPU sells for $1,200. I honestly thought I found the "Golden Egg" or "Hidden Gem". Along with this purchase I order supporting component like 128GB of DDR4 and a ASRock X99 Extreme4 motherboard. My goal was to build my new 24 core 128GB ram VMware workstation nested lab environment.

On June 1st I received the CPU and to my surprise, I had a Xeon 2670. To the untrained eye this looks to be correct however, I know this is the wrong CPU which only works with DDR3 and socket 2011. I called Newegg customer service and spoke with Melanie **. She was very apologetic about the situation and immediately asked if I wanted to refund the item. I said "NO", I had it in mind to build a specific system. I paid for a specific item and would like the item I paid for. I understand there is a huge price difference, however this is not my fault and good customer service would suggest to either send me the correct item that I thought I paid for or suggest an alternative product that would satisfied my needs (other than refund).

According to Melanie ** Newegg policy will not allow for anything other than refund or I keep the wrong item. To make things even more worse, I will not get my money about until 3 business days after Newegg receives the product back. Mind you I paid for the product prior to receiving it. All that said, I very disappointed with Newegg and how they handled this situation. I will no longer use or recommend Newegg anymore. I will look to competitors for future purchases.

Only complaint is that live chat can take quite some time to get into a session, but it's fine to have in the background so it's not an issue. I opened a ticket on February 5th 2016 and have still yet to receive any word on when my replacement or check will be in the mail. I do realize that this is a different company, but their actions reflects very poorly on your business. When I first submitted my claim I was going to immediately once received my reimbursement money order a new phone from your business. There is no way a simple cell phone service repair should take over 3 months. This level of service is unacceptable.

I cannot recommend Newegg as a business to any potential customers and am making it a point to share my story through various social mediums, so that all customers are aware of the service that Newegg offers. I was contacted by Newegg customer service. Through their efforts they were not able to help my situation at all. I purchased a refurbished printer for $50 along with a 2-year replacement protection plan ($14). The printer stopped working shortly after receiving it. After spending many hours trying to get this thing to work I contacted the company handling the replacement plan MYSERVICEPLAN.com. I discovered the plan did not go into effect for 3 months because of the manufacturer' 3-month warranty (which, I also found, was already expired at the time of purchase.) So, believing the item would be fixed or replaced. I waited the 3 months for the replacement plan to kick in. After shipping the item to them, I was given a NEWEGG GIFTCARD for the purchase price of the item.

My complaint is this: If they were not able to fix the printer and send it back to me, or replace it with a similar item (which I would have accepted), then I should have been given a full REFUND ON MY CREDIT CARD; NOT A GIFT CARD. I complained on the phone to both NEWEGG, and MYSERVICEPLAN.COM but they were not willing to refund my money. I am forced to spend my $50 at NEWEGG, even though there are other choices elsewhere. I recognize that $50 is not much money to some, but to me this practice is deceptive and devious. It could easily have been several 100 dollars I would be forced to spend where I don't want to and a practice that can be easily corrected.

I bought and assembled my entire computer from Newegg. During my order I accidentally ordered two motherboards, and no video card, so I ordered a video card at a later date. So I return my motherboard never opened never box swapped and Newegg refuses to return the item stating it was open and in the wrong box. It has been almost a month now with no word from Newegg, so I decided to call today. They said they would return the item if I sent the other box at my expense. I told them no and that they will refund the money, it was a $600 USD motherboard. They said they will send it back and I can sell it on eBay. After holding onto a return for almost a month? I told them I will tear the computer apart and send back everything I ordered and the response was "Let's get ready to copy some RMA numbers". I broke down and sent them the box from MY motherboard and now don't have a box for my motherboard.

In the photos below are my motherboard box being sent out to NEWEGG. What is stopping them from repeating this process? The important thing here is NEVER BUY ANYTHING from Newegg. So not am I only out 600 bucks but now another 20 USD for shipping my box to a company who has had such an awful history of doing this to other customers. I would never again. I have never had this kind of issue with AMAZON or Best Buy. Absolutely most horrible customer service I've ever experienced.

I've placed several large dollar orders with Newegg in the past without any problems, so when they shipped a $12 cable to a previous address of mine instead of my current one, I was sure the problem would be reconciled efficiently and without much to do. I WAS WRONG. I was first forced to check in on that previous address and see if I could find the shipment before they offered a $9.99 gift card to repurchase another $12 cable. This gift card would take 1-2 business days to get, plus another 2-3 days to ship and receive (and another $2.88 of tax and shipping costs out of my pocket).

The cable is for a computer monitor I use as work, and simply can't wait this long. This is just crappy customer service. If this purchase was made with Amazon (another company I spend quite a bit of money with), that company would simply have shipped out another cable, no questions asked. For such a low-value item, there should be no qualms about replacing it quickly and without all of the hoop jumping. If Newegg wants to compete in the current market they will have to meet and exceed their competitor's service, which in my opinion they did not do. I have spent at least $10000 with Newegg in the past and I expect to be treated as such. From now on, whenever I can I will simply shop with Amazon, someplace I know will treat me better when I run into the inevitable issues with shipping and product replacement.

NEWEGG BLOWS. The other shoe has dropped and NEWEGG will never see another dime from this geek. Bought a motherboard last week (the last one I bought from Egg was DOA) that was supposed to arrive tomorrow, so I went to Newegg to check the status and there was NO ORDER in my account. Huh? The $83 bucks was definitely removed from my bank account... So I popped over to my email (not easy when your PC is broken) and there was an email stating that the motherboard I bought wasn't really in stock and that they will not be sending it. Newegg is closed on Sundays. My bank isn't though. So I filed a claim against Newegg to get my money back. U.S. Bank is awesome like that. : )

Now here's the kicker: I clicked on the link to the non-existent motherboard that I didn't get and guess what? IT'S FOR SALE AGAIN!!! Feels alot like bait and switch to me. I believe they post cheap items on their site to get you in there, snatch it away, then hope you will bump up to the more expensive items. NOT THIS GIRL!

Updated on 04/19/2016: Egg sent me a PRIVATE MESSAGE here on Consumer Affairs - and I am of the opinion that all responses should be PUBLIC. Here is their response: "We appreciate that you've shared your experience, and we're terribly sorry to hear about the difficulties this has caused. We'd like to further look into this for you and see what's going on. Please feel free to email us at wecare@newegg.com with your order number and details."

Sorry Egg, when I say I'm done with a cheating, greedy, unorganized company such as yours, I mean it. The first time you pulled this trick, I forgave and forgot, the second time you sent me a $15 gift certificate. When I tried to use that certificate, the item that I bought "didn't ship from the supplier fast enough so we cancelled it" (directly quoted by customer service). Of course I had again spent lots of time shopping for that item, and I won't get it. So - I went shopping again. I found an item that I liked, of course it was several dollars more than the last item (the bait and switch game), and when I went to buy it, my $15 gift certificate had dropped to $11 for no apparent reason. Finally, I bought my lamp, paid too much for it, waited too long for it, and went back for more abuse last week. Hence, this complaint. GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!

I go on the site to check the status and see they split my one order into 3 of their orders. Now get this one of them shipped and the other two were voided. Huh? Called customer service and they said one was voided because the credit payment did not go through. Huh? Again I placed one order and over $1000 of it shipped. Same information, same card number, again I placed one order. They told me to call the credit card which I did and they told me the charge did go through. Then I called back again and the next story I got was it was voided because the information was not correct for the second order/shipment.

I only placed one order with one set of information. No one could explain how that happens or why. Now get this - they can't fix the order over the phone. Bought an ACER Predator Z35 ($1,100). Gaming monitor from Newegg using their Synchrony credit card. The next day, a tracking number was created and was marked "shipped" and in transit from their website. The next day I looked at the tracking number, this time from UPS and saw the monitor was going to be delivered that day. Waited all day for the UPS man and he didn't show up. So the next day I looked at the tracking number and saw the monitor was still scheduled to be delivered the previous day. Last time I checked, time machines don't exist.

On my UPS account I see the item is awaiting pickup by UPS. So I contacted customer support. The UPS guy assures me that UPS never has received the item and that they are waiting for Newegg to give it to them. So pretty calmly, I chatted Newegg CS and was told processing takes 1-2 business days (irrelevant, since it was already processed through the warehouse and marked shipped from Newegg site). The next day I contacted them over and over again so many times. First they gave me the same story and said they would email the warehouse. Then I asked again later that day and was told an email was sent and I had to wait for a response from the warehouse.

I contacted later again and was asked if I would like an email to be sent to the warehouse. (Why would they ask that if they said they would do that earlier?) I then asked again later on that day, this time a little more frustrated and got a copy of a supposedly new email. (I got a copy of what seemed to be a fake email to make me feel better). This time I called later on and suddenly I find out a claim was submitted and would take 3-5 business days to be resolved. The CS agent was rude. I asked him why I can't just get my item. He said the item was lost or temporarily missing and I cant be issued a replacement or refund until after the claim is processed which takes 3-5 business days. Any decent company would just correct the mistake and send me my item.

I feel like someone at UPS or Newegg stole my monitor because they saw the box and said "that's a nice monitor, I'm taking it". The funny thing is, I was almost certain the item would be stolen even before I made the order. The only compensation I received was 20 dollars from a previous credit card problem (mixed with some price matching for this blatantly overpriced monitor) plus 7.99 refund for my standard shipping and 4 dollar refund for my rush order. I'm tempted to cancel the replacement and go with the refund instead after my claim is accepted. Other customers who got this monitor were sent open-boxed and defective monitors when they bought the new one. Only Newegg would send customers, other customers defective returns.

I recommend you buy from an Amazon seller that has free prime shipping. Amazon will fully back their third party sellers with great Amazon level CS (first hand experience). Newegg will barely back their own products with bad CS , you will have to pay return shipping on defective products and if you think they will remotely back their third party seller items, then you are a dreamer! My dad and I will no longer buy from Newegg and our friends won't either. Newegg has lost their ways. Having to wait business days to get a new one sent out is ridiculous. I feel like I'm being punished for someone else's mistake. Will update my review if this gets resolved with me getting a non-defective, brand-new monitor in a timely manner. If not, this review stays the same and to this day, I haven't got my money or correct working product. WHAT A JOKE.

After waiting for hours on my call back, I decided to use the social media platform. In response to my tweet, I was given a different email, and Eugene from the social media department was able to refund shipping and $25 off my order. He also said that my email will be forwarded to the supervisor of the employee that lied to me about my package's delivery. Live support finally called back over 3 hours after making my initial call. Package arrived Monday.

Noticed on the FedEx site that my package arrived 3 miles from my house very early on Friday morning and was marked as "package not due for delivery." Was scanned an additional 5 times before going out for delivery.

I paid for expedited shipping on my product that would have set it to arrive on Thursday, 3/10/2016. I receive a shipping label creation stating that the product will be shipped out on Tuesday, 3/8, and will arrive on Friday, 3/11. I contacted their live chat early afternoon on Wednesday, 3/9, because my product still had no shipping information updated. The customer service representative assured me that the product had shipped on Tuesday, 3/8, and will arrive on Friday, 3/11. I checked shipping information on Thursday, 3/10, to see that the package had not left the warehouse until 4 hours after I had talked to the customer service representative. Flat out, the representative lied to me about when my product shipped, and now I have to wait until Monday, 3/14, for my order to arrive.

I contacted support again today, and all they offered me was a $5 refund on a $694.98 order. The customer service representative told me I had to be "patient and understanding." I would be if it was the fault of FedEx, but I will not be patient and understanding when I have been lied to. Absolutely ridiculous and insulting. I attempted to contact customer service by phone and there is a wait time that is beyond an hour. I am currently awaiting a call back from them.

I purchase an Intel hard drive from Newegg just prior to Christmas. The drive was defective so I returned it and ordered another one. Because the original drive did not have the box they have been refusing to refund my money. They claimed that Intel would not take it back without the box. I have talked with Newegg's customer service at least 10 times telling them they can't resell a defective item, thus the box didn't matter. I called Intel directly to inquire about the box. They said that has never been their policy (returning items without the box) and that Newegg was lying about it. I challenged Newegg and they still refuse and are sending the defective unit back to me (I guess to use as an $800 paperweight). I would never buy anything thing from these crooks ever again. Amazon, Best Buy, etc. would never have treated me this way.

I then contacted them again saying that the only way I would be satisfied if they give me a 600 watt power supply and with the best shipping they have. They still haven't gotten back to me. I purchased two top of line ASUS Laptops on Newegg. After a month or so of use, the HD graphics would cause the screen to go black with purple lines on one and the video would freeze up on the other. I reinstalled the HD drivers numerous times and even installed an older version of the drivers but no luck getting the problems to go away. One they returned for a full refund, inside their normal return window. The second was with my business partner out of the country. As soon as he returned I tried to send his back. They told me they could only give me store credit with Newegg because it was outside the window.

I tried to explain my situation via the online chat, can't speak to anyone, but they wouldn't budge. I returned it figuring I would just buy something else with the credit. Upon the return, the rejected via email I could not contact anyone to explain. They sent me back a faulty machine which I can do nothing with. Worst part, terrible service. Can't talk to someone to get help. Disappointed, they won't stand behind what is sold. Spent close to $5,000 with them but I am done now. Never buy again.

There was no indication my order would be placed internationally. Now I have to wait. My other product never arrived. The post office said that the company shipping it filled out an "Undeliverable Address". Did Newegg or third party seller do ANYTHING? No. I have been writing and calling for days, and the best response I can get is "It's a sale from our marketplace, Newegg isn't responsible." Totally unprofessional, and I will NEVER use their site again. They could be selling new laptops for a penny and I wouldn't waste my time or energy. Okay, Newegg finally came through and gave me (not a refund as they told me they would) a store credit which I decided after all the fighting I could work with. What I really don't like about this whole situation is how I was called a liar about what I had told them about the product being faulty and being damaged.

They had recorded all my phone calls and knew exactly what I had told them from the very beginning. I guess it all comes down to be careful who you buy from and fight for your rights.

I just bought a new motherboard from Newegg. Put it in my gaming desktop that I'm building and I got a message that the graphics card was not sending a signal to the monitor. When I tried to reseat the graphics card on the MB the whole connector ripped off the MB. I called Newegg and they were all friendly and said they would take care of it, sent me a call tag so I could return it. I had EVERYTHING I needed to return it. Every item that came with it went back!! At first I was going to do an exchange (of course they were happy with this), then as time went on I wanted a refund. Called and that was okay too. I started reading reviews from Newegg customers having the same issues I had had. New items that had been opened and sold as new, bad customer service, and having a load of trouble returning things. I decided to buy from Amazon whom I have a great relationship with and know if there is a problem things WILL get taken care of.

Okay got the new board from Amazon, all is said and done on that front. Then I get an email from Newegg. They tell me the motherboard I sent them is damaged and I will have to deal with the manufacturer and they are RETURNING the MB to me! I call them to find out what is going on. First they tell me they have no notes pertaining to anything that I told them about the motherboard having damage and being faulty. Then when I told them whom I spoke with and he said he would take care of it, they said no one by that name works there. Really? That's how you work? I can't believe anyone still buys from this company. I sure won't any longer!

Etech then replied, without seeing the unit or speaking with anyone directly, that they would not replace the unit. We then asked Newegg if they would stand behind the replacement, and they said no, that it was up to Etech. Upon further research, we found that Etech has a long history of defective product reviews and it is easy to assume that Newegg was aware of this. We are now researching which company to sue but would advise any consumers to purchase with a company that stands by their product and that would not be Etech or Newegg. As long-standing, previous customers, we could not be more disappointed with Newegg.

On Black Friday we ordered $1,100.00 in computer parts to build a new system for our son in college. They shipped via UPS who then left this package on our front porch and no one home. The package was stolen. We contacted Newegg and they contacted UPS to do an investigation, which 3 days before x-mas was still not resolved. I got very impatient and tried to get this resolved so to have the gift for x-mas. One of their customer service members talked me into doing a whole new order (which I paid an additional $1,100.00 for; they in turn paid for 2 day shipping to have this under the x-mas tree). They told me that once UPS would complete their investigation, they will refund the money. Too bad it was NOT THAT EASY.

The Newegg idiots then sent this shipment to a totally different address even AFTER they confirmed my mailing address. I managed to get that money refunded but the initial shipment made in Nov., they were dragging their heels. Needless to say our son never got his x-mas gift. It is now Feb and this issue still has not been resolved. They refuse to send new parts or refund our money because according to UPS they "delivered the package to the correct address, and therefore will not cover the cost." Newegg then decided not to refund my money nor ship out the computer parts. They claimed that the 2nd shipment they made and refunded because they shipped to wrong address was the refund, and therefore the issue was resolved. They were not even considering the fact of the initial shipment from Nov. They seem to think that initial $1100. was a present to them I guess.

Now Newegg claims after 2 months that they want to see a Police report. Sure why not report something stolen 2 months after the fact. After forwarding this police report, and now DEMANDING money refunded, I am still waiting for their reply. I went to the bank to dispute charges as well to get my money returned. I don't care if I have to pay 4 times as much for computer parts by shopping somewhere else; I will NEVER buy anything from Newegg again. After this great experience they can kiss my ass! SHOP AT TIGER DIRECT instead. Never had issues with Tiger Direct.

A rep was able to see order and after I cut and pasted all the emails into chat she cancelled the order. I was asking about placing a block on my account and she was sending an email to "Verification department."

When I tried for online chats, I was repeatedly told that the wait would be long (the first time, over 29 minutes at 11:59 pm EST; the second, during the day, over 49 minutes; the third, over 55 minutes). No one replied to my emails and I only received a response once I posted a negative review on SiteJabber. But even then, the response was slow and unhelpful. I tried to post a follow-up after my most recent problem, but SiteJabber is pasting over my original review with my new one and backdating the new review to the first one.

So here's the latest: I am now getting an error message that my Office 365 program is not licensed. So, I tried to start another chat session with Newegg. Here's the message I received: "5:49:05 PM undefined CS Team: You are next in queue... Estimated wait time is 0 hours 0 minutes 5 seconds.' It is now 6:19 (30 minutes later), and no one has come on to start a chat. So now, instead of telling me that it would more than 30 minutes to even start a chat with me, Newegg has apparently just decided to lie outright. Stay away from this company. I ordered a complete computer system on 12/22 using standard shipping, as I have done from Newegg for at least a decade. All of the parts I ordered (several order numbers) were shipped out the next day and all but one arrived as expected (within 7 days) except the $900 motherboard/processor. That item arrived at the second shipper location on 12/23 and there it sits. A day or two after I placed the order, Newegg put a delivery date of 1/5 on this item in the order on their website. Newegg knew they would miss their delivery promise but failed to notify me (I had looked it up just to see when things would get here - other items had begun to arrive).

OK, I was unhappy but not really irritated - that is, until I chatted with a Newegg customer service rep today. I patiently laid out the detail and his response was "It's with the 4 - 7 business day window." which it is not. She could have given me some better response, or explained things or whatever. I have been a very loyal Newegg customer for as long as they have been online (and before when they were in B. Dalton bookstores). Why did my other 6 or 7 items for this build arrive more than a week before this item is *scheduled* for delivery (that was my question). In this Amazon-defined online world where I place ~70 Amazon orders/year with zero problems (returns are immediately handled and questions answered properly), Newegg is falling behind.

I entered a satisfaction survey response today on Newegg's website. I have one outstanding order with Newegg, and it will be my last if I don't receive some reasonable response to my satisfaction survey comments. If they are willing to treat poorly a decade-long customer who has purchased quite a few systems from them, then I will no longer trust that they will do their best to meet my needs in the future. (Note that this system was spread across multiple orders on the same day (12/22) not just the one entered below.)

To make a long story short, Newegg shipped me two items in one box (water cooler and a processor) and when I received the box and opened it only the water cooler was inside. I filed a claim with Newegg and after a painfully long process of our long wait times to speak with customer service several times, we were told our claim was denied and they couldn't help us. I was flabbergasted. And since I told them the box didn't look tampered with they said pursuing a claim through UPS would be futile. I was out $374.99 because they said all of their stock was accounted for and they would do NOTHING to help me. I ended up filing a claim through the BBB, my bank (Regions) and filed a police report just have all my bases covered. Regions came through for me and returned my money to me after investigating the situation and is now pursuing a resolution with the company directly I suppose. I will NEVER order from this company again.

I first bought from Newegg in 2001 and have been a loyal customer, off and on, for a long time. Recently bought a new TV, arrived with half dead pixels. "Ok, no problem" I thought because Newegg was a good company, right? Oh man. It's now been over 2 weeks, I received the following promises: 1) "Your return label is 2 day." - lie 12/7/2015. 2) "Your RMA will be expedited." - lie 12/7/2015. 3) "I will set your RMA to be expedited and 2 day shipping back to you (other customer service rep, noting that it was standard)." - lie 12/18/2015.

I just got off the phone with "RMA specialists" - they were rude and hostile. I explained I was upset about this process and the rep noted "It will take 2-5 days to process your RMA. We just received it Saturday" (now Tues). I asked about the expedited RMA - "I don't see anything, well I see one thing here - I guess it might be faster than 2-5 days." Seriously? Not only will I not be able to give my Christmas gift that I ordered almost a month ago, but I hope I get it before New Year's... Pathetic process, pathetic customer service. I can even understand laziness, but for employees to get hostile with customers is beyond a business mistake - it's unacceptable.

I ordered a hover board from Newegg and found out that they were catching on fire the next night. I reached out to the seller 4 different times to cancel the order with no response. So I contacted Newegg chat support thinking I am just going to tell them that it's been 14 days and the tracking number has no activity and they will see what's going on and I will get my money back. I was wrong though. NewEgg wanted to contact the seller one more time on my behalf and give them 48 hours to contact me back. So I waited 48 hrs and then they wanted to contact them one more time. And now they are telling me they want a special marketplace representative to reach out to the seller and contact me. So another 3-7 business days to contact me back.

It has already been 17 days since the order. The tracking number still pulls up absolutely nothing, not even a scheduled pickup date. Even if I did get a response back from the deadbeat seller that is going to be after Christmas and I am going to refuse shipment anyways because I am not interested in giving my 10 year old niece a product that catches her on fire. I thought every company waits until the product ships to charge you. Newegg not only charges you before it ships. They hold you hostage to a seller with defective products that has shown absolutely no effort to even fake legitimacy.

I have wasted 3 hours with Newegg support and they are still siding with a ghost seller that doesn't even respond to them. I asked for a manager and they said they do not have a manager present. They can get one to contact me on the next business day. Like I can just answer every call while I'm at work and spend 3 hours while I'm on the clock telling Newegg for the 8th time I don't want a replacement. The product catches on fire and the illegitimate company that sold it on your website has not even sent me one to replace. Are you kidding me? I'm in awe of how horrible this company is.

For items purchased as part of a combo, the refund on any returned item is decreased by the amount of the total discount on the combo package. The case cost $45, the combo discount is $41, so it would cost me more to return the case than I would get as a refund.

Before I was a "Premier" member, my orders would take about 4 days to arrive. Now with "Premier" 3-day shipping, it takes at least a week. This is on 3 different orders in a row so I know this isn't a coincidence. I called them today about it and all they had were empty excuses. Evidently, the first day of your order doesn't count as one of the days, the weekends don't count, but I can deal with that. So there's 3 days of the week that don't count as 3-day shipping... That still leaves at least one extra unaccounted for day.

My advice, stay away from their "Premier Membership" scam. You'll get faster shipping without it and you'll be treated better by their customer service. Before if I had a problem, they would try to remedy it quickly by giving me some store credit or free merchandise. Now that I'm "Premier" they just tell me to deal with it... I run a computer shop and I've ordered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from newegg. I'm done with them!!

The lady I spoke to on the phone was helpful though I felt frustrated by the experience - not due to her but due to the fact the situation happened at all. I purchased two sets of the mentioned headphones for my husband & myself to use with our Windows 10 desktop computers. Nowhere - that I personally saw did it state you had to have bluetooth dongles or anything like that. It was my understanding with windows 10 that it came with bluetooth & it was a simple matter of plugging in & enjoying.

Unfortunately that is not the case with these headphones. I unboxed both plugged them into the two computers and let them charge a bit. Then attempted to connect them to the pc without any luck. Within the hour that I got them from the front door I've been frustrated; even angry at the lack of help or ability to try and resolve the problems. Attempted to contact the maker of the headphones heh.. That's another review in itself. We even tried drivers that someone suggested with no luck.. Now I'm sitting here waiting to receive the RMA via email because my husband's are already broke.. Not that we could use them to begin with. For those that get these & they work enjoy the extremely short cord it is proved with. I had read on the site that the cord was supposed to be 3ft - perhaps I misread but I don't even think the cord is 2ft to be honest that or I'm taller than I thought because I'm 5ft 7in and it barely past my knee's in length.

I'm kicking myself for not reviewing Newegg before spending $430 which is now a total loss for me. I bought a laptop from them. It started up fine so I threw the box away. Two days after very little use, my laptop has a glitch. It randomly flashes black and randomly changes windows. I called Newegg to get it replaced. They told me since I threw away the box, they can't help me at all because it's a total loss for them to take the computer back. So instead, I, the customer, have to take the loss. After spending $430 on a laptop and receiving defective merchandise, they can't do anything for me because I threw away the cardboard box? That's so wrong!

Also, I tried to post a bad review directly on Newegg's site, but if you read the review section, Newegg clearly states that they read all reviews before posting them on their website and they reserve the right to deny any reviews containing "Criticism of Newegg.com's service or the service of our operations partners.". That was copied and pasted straight from their site. So the reviews that you are reading for the products are basically only the good reviews people post, because if you criticize Newegg's terrible customer service, they don't even post those bad reviews. That's so dishonest.

I contacted the seller (ASUS) and they were just as bad as Newegg. After two phone calls and two hours on the phone, I was told the laptop only came with a service warranty so they won't refund, exchange, or replace it. If I want to have it serviced, I have to ship it to the service center in California (I live in Florida), and they would email me instructions for this process. I never got the email. I still have to call them back again! And, by the way, this was their solution after the service rep blamed me for the glitch, saying I must have done something to the computer. I can't believe this is what I went through after spending hundreds of dollars. This is just wrong. Please don't buy from them. If you have any issues come up, MARK MY WORDS, you will regret buying from Newegg.

First before I could return it I had to go through a gruesome process with MSI that tried their best to convince me it wasn't a hardware error, which it was. The only nice part of my experience with Newegg is the issuance of a replacement and the conversation I had with customer service at that point. After they received the computer, it took the two days to test it and accept it was broken. Then it took another day for them to realize that the computer I bought was now out of stock, since it has been replaced by MSI with a newer model. The procedure was then to issue a refund, which would be in my account in 3-5 business days.

In the following conversation with customer service, I suggested another computer. In the following conversation I had with customer service, the agent abruptly cancelled in the middle of our conversation. Having friends who have used Newegg and had similar experiences, I would recommend you going somewhere else. Amazon will provide you with the same goods, but far superior customer service.

After telling me I could wait up to two weeks for a new one after sending back the old one I was unhappy. Basically at the end said, "I can't believe I was treated like it's my fault and I get to wait two weeks for my new speaker when I ordered it with two-day express shipping." They reluctantly gave me a $25.00 credit. Ok so I'm waiting and a week and a half later I call and they say, "Sorry but we haven't shipped you a new speaker because we are out of stock."

At this point I am beyond dissatisfied and asked for any solution possible. Their solution was, "We refund you for one and you buy another one if we get it back in stock." This being a stereo speaker set, I have one and they aren't sold anywhere else as a single. I'm like, "I'll just return the other one." They say, "No problem. That's gonna be a $45.00 restock fee." I protested and said, "It's not my fault. I just want two new speakers I paid for." "Sorry," they say, "Technically they are sold individually here."

I then got off the phone and got a hold of a supervisor two levels up. He said he would get me taken care of or see about letting me return the other with no fee. It has now been over 3 weeks since I paid for the speakers and no satisfaction. Another few days go by and somehow by the grace of God they find one in the warehouse and ship it out to me. Btw the said speaker went on a sale and was in stock when I called the supervisor then went out of stock again. I basically got no help from level 1, level 2, or level 3 customer service supervisors. I was insulted by one of them and I'm leaving some things out so this isn't two full pages of complaints. I will never buy from Newegg again!!!

    Updated review: Nov. 4, 2015

After review, NewEgg was able to issue me a store credit for the full amount of the defective drive - stating that they do value their long-standing customers. I am pleased with this resolution despite the time\effort it took to get to this point.

I would just say beware of return policies and read all of the fine print. The policies you may be accustomed to with BigBox retailers or even other online retailers may not apply at NewEgg - specifically in regards to returns without retail packaging and\or serial numbers.

    Original Review: Oct. 26, 2015

I bought an external hard drive that is clearly defective. After testing it numerous times on different devices, I returned it within the 30 day window. They won't give me a refund because I don't have the original box. I ordered the hard drive from Newegg (item #N82E16822236959) on 09/16/2015. I installed it and tested it on my Xbox One and it would not initialize.

For added confirmation I tested it on my laptop and two desktops - where it also failed to format. I attempted to file an RMA online, but stopped short of submitting because I read the fine print which calls for the product's original packaging. I had discarded the packaging as any customer would. Mind you this is not elaborate packaging - just a thin cardboard box and sleeve to contain the drive (this is not a laptop or something). An external hard drive is the sort of product you could take into any Big Box store and exchange packaging or no - the package is pretty useless, the contents just a single drive. Thus I called Newegg and chatted with them about the ordeal. I explained to them that I had discarded the packaging, but that they had definitely sold me a defective drive and I would simply like an exchange - not even a refund.

After much deliberation they claimed they could make me an exception and give me store credit less %15. This was unacceptable to me as I had just paid 100% for a brand new drive and didn't even get to use it once - it was dead on arrival. How is it that I should pay %15 extra because they sold me a defective product? I'm not sure how that's acceptable customer service in any industry. A company is supposed to stand behind the products or services they sell/provide or else they shouldn't sell it.

Furthermore, the customer shouldn't suffer because NewEgg has less than ideal business agreements with its suppliers. While I've rarely needed to, Best Buy does not ask me for the box when they've sold me a defective product. Instead they understand the value of their customers, keeping them happy, keeping their business, and generating positive buzz via word of mouth. By the same token, Amazon, another online retailer, also does not ask for a retail box when they've sold you a defective product - they return it promptly and often cross-ship a replacement. Again if NewEgg has such poor agreements with manufacturers then maybe they should be negotiating better deals with them - not making it the customers problem. It's pretty black and white when you look at it.

The way the return policy stands now, NewEgg can easily sell defective products they won't stand behind without a retail box, and then offer a measly %75 refund for something that never worked. It's sad really since I've seen much of the companies growth from the beginning, both as a personal, and a business customer through my employer. Much of NewEgg's growth was birthed from positive word of mouth due to awesome customer service - not to mention the quality products. I'm not sure where along the way things changed, but this was not the NewEgg I knew and loved. Unfortunately this experience will force me to shop elsewhere for both my personal and business needs. I will certainly be telling friends, family, as well as my employer about this experience. This sort of practice is akin to outright stealing.

They did not care for all this. So I entered the Chat, I got an answer, it'd be delivered next day. It never got here. I have for the 2nd time chatted with them to mention them the chat reference #, no tracking number yet. Today, it's day 4 and still not answer of where it is, my money is gone, and they will answer me "tomorrow"!!! That's what they've said. Anyhow spent hours emailing back and fourth. I had to file a claim with PayPal to get my money back which I did but just a whole lot of trouble! On Sep 21, 2015, I ordered a Garmin GPS model 2689 from Newegg. I found the GPS using a sale email that Newegg sent to me. Order was completed and payment charged (as indicated by emails) since I paid electronically. Order was confirmed and I received a tracking number (as also indicated by emails received from Newegg). Later that day, I discovered more emails sent to me by Newegg. The first was an invoice indicating order number and invoice number with other normal contact info and such. Then later 2 additional emails, the first indicating "RETURN APPROVED" then "RETURN RECEIVED". I never received the GPS (not in 1 day!!) and did not request a return. I followed the information from their invoice email and used their telephone contact information and talked to a Newegg customer service representative. I presented him with all the info I had and asked him what was going on with this order.

He kept me on hold while he called the vender and returned to me in several minutes. He stated that there was a problem with the advertised price and the vender would not honor this price. That vender issued the RMA and apparently completed the return process automatically without ever contacting me. While the customer service rep was offline investigating what was happening to the order, I checked my bank account to verify that the money had been refunded. IT HAD NOT. The Customer Service rep indicated that the vender had issued a refund through his bank and it will take up to a week for it to clear to me.

So now I have paid for an item I have NOT received and will NOT receive and I NOW must wait a week or more to get a refund. This is such a SCAM and FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Now I have to wait for a refund from Newegg and I have to keep monitoring my bank account until it comes, if it comes. I image this is going to be many recalls to Newegg Customer Service to try to get this completed. This is really a terrible situation. I have bought from Newegg many times, but now I will check to see other places for anything I need or want before I go to Newegg.

I have no need to incur 25%/year interest charges and other fees. So, that's the end for me and Newegg. There are many other places to buy hardware on the 'net. Thanks, it's been a long time but all friendships end one way or another. This has nothing to do with me - it's some slime ball outfit backing Newegg. End of story.

Anyways I ordered my new PC Parts from Newegg and got their 3-day shipping / ShopRunner 2-day, all that stuff for quicker shipping. Ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived to my house the following Thursday/Friday. Unless I am off in my binary calendar days, that is way over 3 business days.

Went to get a new monitor just this week as well and placed the order Wed before 4 PM EST, so like 1 PM PST, and I know they have warehouses in different states but figured I got the order in before the 5 PM EST deadline at least for most companies to pack it up and ship it out. Sitting here the following Thursday, writing this review at 12 PM EST and my items are still "packing" and even though I did 2-day shipping, I won't be getting my item until Monday now when I needed it for weekend because they took almost 2 business days to "pack" my item. If you need something quick, do not use Newegg no matter what. Amazon is best if they have it in stock as I have ordered items even after 7-8 PM EST on Amazon and by midnight, the item is shipped and onboard the next truck out early next morning.

Newegg has gotten too big for their britches. They buy a company's defective products and stick their long time paying customers with this supposedly "new" stuff. Often times the item will work, or work for awhile and be so heavy that between the hassle and expense of returning it, the customer will just keep it. NE depends on that little trick to make a lot of their money as they know these items are bad before they even put them up for sale and how many customers will react.

Newegg knows some of its vendors do not honor their rebates. Rebates are a calculated scam already, but when some do all that's required of them and make it through all the hoops yet still don't get their rebate, not good. Even if something goes wrong, just work with the buyer and fix it. Bottom line is, the item came with a rebate and the seller or manufacturer knows they didn't give the rebate and nothing else matters, so just give it. But no, NE figures this is an acceptable way to rip off or allow a customer to be robbed so, they will do it or allow it. NE sees the complaints on some of these vendors yet does nothing.

Personally, can't stop them from spamming my inbox with ads, it's impossible. I think I've gotten 4 or more spams from them in the last 24 hrs... Ridiculous. I unsubscribed several times and the ads don't even slow down for a time. I then send the email they recommend if the ads don't stop once we unsubscribe. And still, absolutely nothing... Just ignored. There is no way to stop them.

Newegg is well versed in the psychology involved as well as out-and-out theft it takes to get a customers money and as much of it as possible since that's clearly more important to them than ethics. The spam, the "too heavy to return" a known bad item and rebate scams/tricks are just a few of the low down ways of NE and are all a game to them, and one they play with people that have bought with them for years, people that would rather just get what they ordered and not have their time wasted with costly, time consuming games. They have been steadily getting worse over just the past few years and have apparently come to the conclusion treating their customers right is not the best way to do business these day. I hope they continue getting out of control until it costs them dearly.

I recently placed an order through Ebay for a laptop after a lot of research, reading and surfing sites. Newegg's price for the laptop was very competitive and on top off that I had a $15 promo code which I used. I personally believe the additional discount is why the order was cancelled. I paid through PayPal using 1 of my verified accounts. Soon after I received an email from them indicating that they could not verify my information and that the order was being cancelled. No phone call or email to resolve the issue, just a cancellation.

Next an email came in through Ebay which was a request to have the transaction cancelled by the buyer. The reason? It said that the buyer and seller could not agree on the terms of the sale. Since this was news to me I realized that Newegg was just trying to weasel out of the sale. They are obviously a massive company with hundreds of thousands (maybe more) of transactions but the bigger picture is they are not customer-centric in the way they treat people. I have ordered from them in the past but this experience left a very bad taste in my mouth.

There is way too much competition to worry about this these days beyond venting. I personally will never order from Newegg again because if this is how they treat the buyer before a transaction completes I cannot even imagine what a nightmare it must be getting resolution when issues arise. I was able to find what I needed at Tiger Direct so in the end all everything worked out.

Then I promptly requested that they cancel the transaction and issue me a refund shortly afterwards due to my having found a far better deal on a computer from another online vendor. However, the ** that own/operate Newegg decided that it would be in their best interest to ignore my request to cancel my order, choosing instead to send the desktop computer to my home anyway, and then proceeding to issue me an RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorization) form that states that even if I were to pay out of my own pocket to return the desktop computer, they will still keep for themselves $48 from my refund.

Why?!! For what reason?!! They never should have sent the computer!!! It would have cost them nothing to have respected my wishes by cancelling my order and refunding my debit card account. I contacted Newegg's customer service department to address this matter and I have yet to hear an intelligent solution to their blunder. Additionally, after being fed up with Newegg's useless customer service, I attempted to turn on the computer. And no big surprise. IT DOESN'T WORK! When I called back to resolve the issue, they said that the item was no longer available at the "open box" price and they tried to jack up the price by 25%. This is the second time that Newegg has pulled this bait-and-switch scam. As far as I'm concerned, this Egg can fry.

I had 7 such rebates placed 6 months ago. A dozen emails later, I managed to get 4 filled, but 3 remain. Newegg not only continues to advertise the manufacturers, but promotes the rebates with them to further their sales. This site is disgusting in how blatant they use rebates to lure customers and then openly does not fulfill them. If this happens to anyone else, PLEASE notify the California Attorney General, since Newegg is in California. The CA AG actively will go after rebate scammers.

This company used to be great. Every few years I would buy parts for a new computer, and in the intervening years I would buy pretty much all of my consumer electronics from them. I recently lost a copy of Windows 8.1 that was shipped to an old address. No warning. I had a shipping address entered into my order. It showed that for what I thought was the entire order, but it shipped to the old address. Newegg support told me that because the order was paid with Paypal, they had to use the address provided to them by Paypal. Interesting, as I have never had that happen anywhere else before. However, I updated my address with Paypal.

A little over a week ago now, I ordered a video card and keyboard/mouse combo. I had made sure through the entire order that the address it was showing me to verify was my current address. However, after paying, it changed to my old address. It was crazy because the address was not even in my address book saved on Newegg. Turns out the first rep lied to me, the address is not provided by Paypal. When you order with Paypal, Newegg defaults to your billing address, and that address is not accessible through your address book, or selectable when you place an order. There is no screen that shows you the billing address or notification that the address you selected will not be used. Even a warning on their part before actually taking you to Paypal to pay would solve this issue.

The first rep I spoke with assumed I was lying from the start and offered no help at all, telling me it was not Newegg's fault I selected the incorrect address and suggested I pick the items up at the shipping address (which was not possible). I spoke with a supervisor, who again assumed I was lying from the start, offered no help, and suggested I pick up the items from the shipping address. It was over an hour into the call before I was able to get the rep to understand what happened, and I had my billing address updated. By the point, he had suggested I have the items recalled so they would be intercepted mid-ship and returned to Newegg. Once back they would process an RMA which would take 2-3 days, and then process a return which would take 3-5 days. They have the video card back already and have yet to start the RMA. It looks like I will have to deal with customer service yet again to get this started.

To me, there were a million things they could have done that would have solved this issue, and most easier than what they decided to do. I wanted the items, how easy would it have been to process and exchange and cross ship the items out to my correct address after the recall was entered on the packages? How about starting the refund right away as the items never reached me, and they know it? Unless Newegg really shows that it was an isolated incident with customer support and turns this whole thing around, it will be the last time I order from them. However it has been about a week since I formally complained on their site and I have not had any contact from anyone there, so I am not holding my breath.

I said that "Since I was misled (Maybe unintentionally) could you at least send me the mounting hardware." He said "NO but I can offer you a $5.00 discount." I said that "You would rather lose a customer than satisfy a customer with a part" and he said "We don't do that". I said "Just give me an RMA number and I will send it back." Disappointing, frustrating flash sale experience. I went for the Razer Blackwidow keyboard being offered at $64.95 this week, having already bought another Razer Blackwidow for another PC and been quite happy with it. Unfortunately, it appears this batch is quite flawed, as I had awful repeat problems with effects like changing my name from "Matthew" to "Mmmathtew" in almost every sentence. It was clearly a hardware problem as lowering the repeat rate in the OS accomplished nothing and these repeats were happening with quick, light presses (I've been a professional typist so I know what I'm doing).

It was very disappointing considering that the keyboard itself is gorgeous and I wanted to keep it. What was more frustrating was that Newegg, or Razer, or whoever is the impetus behind this drastic refurb price cut, obviously was capable of knowing this was a problem, or it wouldn't have been a refurb in the first place. Now I am stuck waiting for a new keyboard (from a different store and brand) and also having to pay a rather high charge for return shipping given that I live on the East Coast and a big keyboard doesn't fit properly into a flat rate box. So far the cheapest quote I can get on USPS.com is over $20. Waste time, and pay money for it. The Newegg Experience. I should stick to Amazon and other stores with customer-friendly return policies.

OK, I called them and was on the phone for almost 2 hours(!!) with customer service reps and a manager (** was his name I think) and they offered me either they would issue $100 credit, I would retain the item but I would lose any type of guarantee (so, wouldn't be able to return it even the next day if I would discover something new to be wrong!) and alternatively, I would drop it off at UPS, then send them email and they would (not waiting for the item) send me a correct item right away!

I call again -- they tell me item is out of stock and blabla... maybe I could wait for other 7-10 days and they would get it again... Starting from the item sent, manager's promises, rep's talks, everything was lie! I used to use Newegg exclusively for building/buying computers and components, for myself and clients. Then one day I ordered parts for a build for a client in a rush. Went with a slightly higher than needed spec (and more expensive) motherboard because it came with a video card. Long story short: video card was removed from my purchase after ordering, with no notification. Ended up having to rush out and buy a video card at compUSA at a premium price. Emailed Newegg... no response. Informed them I would no longer be purchasing from them. No response. This was six years ago and I never purchased from them again.

Fast forward to this week. Need a new laptop and decided to give them another chance, so started shopping around on their site. Did a few hours of research and set a bunch of laptops aside on a short list. Later went back to shorten the list farther after more research... only to find the prices on everything in the list had gone up $100+. I thought this was a bit odd... but maybe just a coincidence?

So I tossed everything off the short list and continued researching, this time taking screen shots. The next morning the same thing appeared to be happening... so compared screenshots and sure enough: everything I had been looking at - ONLY the things I specifically clicked on - had gone up in price. Decided to see if I could figure out what triggered this. Clicked on some more things, nothing changed. Added something to my cart: up in price! Went back and looked at the same thing: in the search it'd show up as one price but different price on the info page and cart. About 20 minutes later the search also returned the higher price.

Sneaky, sneaky! Even better, from their pricing policies: "Prices and availability of products are subject to change without notice. Errors will be corrected when and where discovered by Newegg, but Newegg reserves the right to refuse any order, revoke any published offer and correct any errors or inaccuracies, including those discovered subsequent to the submission of an order, and whether or not your credit card has been charged."

So basically, they can charge whatever the heck they want, even after you've placed and paid for your order! Nice! Anyway, I emailed Newegg asking about this (giving just one laptop as an example) and just now got a response saying 'the price changed on 3/16 and it takes up to 24 hours to reflect'. So, this was the case on ‘everything’ I specifically clicked on, and the fact that some things even showed this price in the cart and changed only when I started to check out was just happenstance, eh?

So that was their last chance, and apparently from reading their reviews here I am very lucky I didn't actually place an order. Decided to put this out there, add my own voice, and hope that someone will see this and be informed! I have added a couple screenshots for examples. Shame on you, Newegg. You used to be cool...

Emails are a total waste of my time because NO ONE in the system cares! You have my money and the returned headlights! One thing from all of this that I have learned, NEVER BUY FROM NEWEGG! I am telling everyone I know about the total lack of control that NEWEGG has over the sellers using their name. So in closing, everyone who has been involved in this total disaster of a sale, may you find yourself on the receiving end of having someone take your money and have NOTHING to show for it!

I had placed an order later which I needed to cancel. It had gone to packaging so had to call their CS. The rep pretty much lied to get me off the line faster. She had told me that I wouldn't be charged and the authorization would fall off. Well, 3 days later I am seeing the charge in my checking account which, because the auth had disappeared I took her word for it and used that money, caused several overdrafts. Spoke to their CS to see what the hell was going on and sure enough more of her lies were unfolding.

The CS rep I spoke to afterwards didn't care and simply ignored the fact I was lied to by their CS reps. Currently have a callback scheduled with a supervisor but probably going to be just as useless as their reps. Being an Apple CS Rep. This is truly one of the worst customer experiences ever. Was a huge fan of Newegg, but this has now cost me $100 and has cost them a long-term customer.

Every contact with Newegg by me or Google results in the same answer "we will get that refund to you right away". Well, right away never comes. As soon as I received the board which was in what looked to be working order until I lifted the cpu cover to install my CPU, About 12 of the pin were bent which made the board as good as a paperweight. So I essentially lost $20.00 on shipping because Newegg doesn't bother to check their open box items. I also heard form LTT forums that New egg doesn't accept board with bent pins but it's in the mail now and if it comes back-- so help me God. I am going to flip out.

I even called the manufacturer and they said they have never heard of one of their TV's having the problem I was having. I called Newegg about my issues and they told me there was nothing they could do because it was past the return date. I returned the first TV the week I received it and called about the second TV the week I received it.

What they were doing was going by the purchase date of the first TV. So I am stuck with a broken TV. On top of all this the customer service representative was very rude on the phone, she repeatedly talked over me. I was a big supporter of Newegg. This was the first time I had to use their customer service and I will never shop Newegg again.

Worst customer service ever!! I was given the run around and called them 4 different times before I finally was fed up and had to talk to a supervisor. They were holding my canceled order funds way too long which caused my bank to charge me a fee for $20. My bank said they'd refund me if I talked to Newegg and they released the funds. On my bank's side it said that Newegg still had my funds, and on Newegg's side it said it was canceled and free for my bank to take. My bank needed a fax from them. First girl was too lazy to send one, second time their printer went down, third time they didn't release the correct amount of funds to me. Fourth time they finally faxed it when I talked to a supervisor but they didn't sign it....

They tried telling me I only ordered $127 worth of stuff when I had ordered around $650 and had to argue with them about this and finally had to say "Do you want me to email you my order confirmation saying what I ordered, as well as my bank statement, to see that they line up?" The lady "Gloria" finally stopped arguing with me and sent a fax to my bank but never signed it. I give up, fine, let my bank charge me tons of money for overages for bills I need. Newegg, first time I ordered and LAST. Train your employees. I Will not recommend you to anyone.

I've heard from a Newegg rep on this matter and I'm satisfied that some good may have been accomplished in using this venue (ConsumerAffairs) to air my disappointment. I didn't lose anything but my patience and some of my confidence in Newegg support. Both of those are repairable. I'll continue doing business with Newegg and expecting whatever level of support is published as available.

    Original Review: Feb. 21, 2015

This is a complaint about the misinformation on the Newegg website regarding availability of contact by chat or phone. The site allowed me to sign onto a chat line to discuss an issue I had with my last order from Newegg. It also gave me a phone number to call for customer service. My attempted contacts were at about noon on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015. The phone number resulted in the message that "the person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time". There was no mention of the Newegg Company and no explanation. The chat line allowed me to get in a queue with the notice that my wait would be 16 minutes. Later that turned to 27 minutes, then to 8 minutes. Since this was the 2nd time in the day that I'd attempted the chat option and waited in vain, I've concluded that a computer was set to send out notices occasionally varying the time left in queue until the customer simply signed off in frustration.

I understand that a 3rd party service may be handling matters for Newegg but that doesn't mean that the company has no culpability for bad information and useless service (in this specific case). I'm hoping that by publishing my complaint here, others with a similar experience with this company will chime in and Newegg will tend to this matter either by letting people know these services are not available on Saturday and Sunday (the website proclaimed that these options were available) or by finding more competent/trustworthy employees. At the very least a public explanation to their customers is in order.

Newegg has a partnership with Turntonetworks.com (http://www.turntonetworks.com/). In fact, they named them a best community partner for 2015 (**). What this means is that Newegg seems to have given Turnto access to their customer email list and purchase histories. Newegg doesn't have enough customer support (i.e. they wrote me, "Given the high volume of emails we receive, our estimated response time is currently 5 to 7 business days"). So instead, they use Turnto to redirect customer questions to other customers who have purchased the same product.

The customer question they wanted me to answer was, "does this include bates numbering for law firms?" I'm sorry for that customer, because they probably wanted an actual response from the company. I wrote them at their corporate knowledge base (**). I also posted a complaint to their Facebook page. I got a very quick reply back (35 minutes later), which confirmed the partnership with Turnto. So Newegg just lost my business. They used to be a great company to work with, but I can't put up with someone who shares my email and purchase history without permission, and then spams me with technical questions from people I don't even know.

I've been ordering from Newegg for years and have always recommended them to friends and family. Naturally, I chose to order a new PC build from them, but after my experience I will no longer be giving them my business. In the past, orders were shipped promptly (often the same day). This was not the case for my most recent order. I ordered components on Friday, expecting them to be shipped that weekend. It turns out, however, that Newegg doesn't process orders on weekends (This is understandable I guess, but many vendors DO process orders on weekends). When Monday comes around, I receive an e-mail from Newegg stating that some of my parts had shipped. The PC barebone, however, had not.

On Tuesday I contacted Newegg and inquired as to why my barebone kit had not been shipped. The representative I spoke, who was extremely short in her responses, copy and posted Newegg's 24-48 hour processing policy into the chat window. She assured me that my order would be shipped that day from a separate warehouse and would arrive at the same time as my other components. Later that day I received a notification from Newegg stating the barebone kit had shipped. However, this was not the case.

The tracking information that was provided for the barebone kit was showing that the item had not been received by the shipper; Newegg had merely printed the label for the item. Newegg chose to require my signature for the components, so I had to be home during the day to receive the items. It was difficult enough to take off work in order to be home for the delivery, and now it was likely that the packages containing my items would be delivered on separate days. Confused, I decided to contact Newegg to inquire about the issue.

The customer service representative I chatted with informed me that there was indeed a delay in processing my package and that there was nothing he could do to expedite it- this was understandable. However, since I had paid extra money for faster shipping (and they failed to deliver) I also expected to receive a partial refund. That seems fair, right? Well, to Newegg it doesn't. The rep informed me he would only give me a partial refund on shipping if the item arrived after Monday. So let me understand this: I paid double the base shipping cost on my $1200 Newegg purchase to receive expedited UPS shipping (Newegg chose to ship my items via UPS ground, however) and you're putting a stipulation on refunding me the money that should have been used to get my items to me on time? What a joke.

The customer is never "right" when it comes to Newegg customer service. In the past, I've received great service from the company and have had zero problems with being treated fairly. This experience, however, has completely destroyed my relationship with the company. I feel as if Newegg doesn't want/care about my business with them (which has summed up to tens of thousands of dollars over the years), and as an online retailer their customer service is atrocious. I have received better service/ compensation from Amazon for issues with ~$10 items than I did with this ~$1200 Newegg order. I will never be ordering from them again and am strongly encouraging others to do the same; there is no reason to chose Newegg over other reputable retailers.

When I received the computer, it didn't have the nVidia card, but only the onboard Intel video card (a vastly inferior card). No offer to make it right, haven't even uttered the words "we're sorry" yet. Really appalling customer support.

The very next morning (Sunday - 8 hours later), I contacted Newegg via chat. Was informed by the rep that the item was back in stock & now had over 300 of them - of course the price went up by $10 since I ordered it Sat evening. WOW... Item magically restocked overnight on a weekend!!!

Needless to say, I purchased from Amazon instead. Newegg's Loss. They did this to me a few months ago on another item. These practices are very poor for business in my opinion. I would think that a business as old as Newegg would have a better website/inventory system in place. Unless they are trying to cheat people out of buying items at a sale price!!

They told me that I had to contact Seagate and gave me the website. They sold me a defective product, took my money and now will not accept responsibility telling me it is my problem to work out with the manufacturer. Too many reputable companies out there to ever bother with these two. Upon receiving the keyboard I noticed that there was a scratch under the logo (which I had paid extra for) so I requested a replacement. I first asked, since I had paid for shipping that my replacement be sent to me ahead of time and then upon arrival I would send back the scratched product so that I would not have to be without one to use in the meantime. They have my credit card information on file so there is no possibility of stealing from them. They refused to send the keyboard to me without first having me send the replacement back. The rep offered to ship my replacement keyboard via Overnight shipping once my return had arrived. I accepted.

I called again to confirm with another rep that these arrangements had been noted, as just as my gut feeling told me - the new rep had no information about the arrangement I had made with another rep a few days prior. A short conflict over if the previous arrangement would be honored or not finally resulted in a yield in my favor. I informed the rep that I sent the keyboard back already, gave a tracking number for the shipment, and requested an email transcript of our chat session.

Fast forward another week and the day that my keyboard return arrives at Newegg, the item is now out-of-stock so there is no replacement to be sent to me. What a waste of time. A supervisor named Gloria offers to "hold" my RMA to see if any more keyboards will be coming back in stock or if I will need a refund. I'm real happy that Newegg instructed me to ship my item back for an exchange when there was no plan to actually fulfill my exchange. On top of all that, of course Newegg can’t ship anything the day you order it, there’s always 1-2 days of slacking before your product ships. What a waste of time. Once I received the order, the motherboard was defective, so I sent it in for an RMA exchange. After a week, I was advised it would take an additional 7-10 days for processing, then 3-5 days to send out a replacement.

As the order was time sensitive (hence the "Rush Delivery" initially), I paid to receive the replacement and they changed the exchange to a refund. After calling every few days for updates, two weeks later I finally received a notification that my refund was finally being issued and it would take "3-5 business days" to process. That was a week ago, so I called today to ask about it. Now I will wait "1-3 business days" while someone investigates and finds my refund.

Under advise of a certified IT person, he recommended I purchase a refurbished Lenovo advertised on Newegg.com, July of 2014 which advertised as preloaded with Windows 2007 Operating System.. As he had purchased from Newegg in the past the needed items to build his PC, his experience the year before was highly rated and I didn't see any problem following his recommendation.

About 3 weeks after its arrival my IT guy (of acquaintance) loaded my specs and activated the Window 2007 license that was preloaded in the Lenovo as part of the purchase sale. However he did let know the CD drive that came with the system was busted. The tray opened and closed but the system could not read off the drive. Newegg wanted me to send back the faulty CD drive so they could send me another. I asked could they not just send me a DVD rewrite drive and have me billed for the extra upgrade. No, they said they don't do that.

So my IT guy went out and bought one and installed if for me. Got my PC back, it ran fine for about 4 months, then one day I turn it on and the Lenovo Thinkvision brand comes up, I can hear my PC power up humming nicely for about 20 seconds, then winding down, and a black screen comes up with the cursor silently blinking away in the right hand corner. Checked the bios, no OS system found. Thinking I must have missed something, done something wrong, I had two other people with PC background go digging around, and finally one of my people tells me he plugged into his home PC which should have recognized another memory drive hook up, but his PC saw NOTHING, no connection to my drive at all.

Long and short I have a bad drive. Contacted Newegg about 5 times in the last 6 weeks, they say they're busy, with customer care, and will get back to me in about 7-10 business days. Finally heard back from someone after the 4th try, again they apologize for the delay and will get back to me in 7-10 business days regarding my request for some compensation, as I now am without a PC for almost 2 months, out $200, and can't even use the Windows 2007 license I paid for with the PC.

I don't have a lot of extra cash, and need that $200 back to put towards a PC that actually works, this time from someone else. I do wish I had read the history on Newegg from this site, as when it comes to refurbished items their track record for the better part of 2014 is soooooooooo bad. Seems that if you buy individual parts and you know the brand and quality of what you want in building your own PC you can do pretty good on savings with Newegg. But God help you if you don't have the know-how about what building a PC involves because it seems from my experience on this as a first time buyer from Newegg you will get screwed.

From all I've seen on the client experience mirroring mine my chances of any recovery of my hard earned cash is very, very poor if not dead in the water. I am sooooooo angry. Now I have dead beat PC sitting in my room until I send it back to Newegg with a beggarly request that they at least reimburse me for shipping and handling cause I don't want to see this in the landfill, but I am also concerned that Newegg might just shine it up enough to sell to some other unsuspecting PC buyer.

    Updated on 02/11/2015

So I posted earlier about how Newegg sent me a refurbished pc (Lenovo) and from the day it arrived the dvd drive didn't work. Then 4 months later my OS systems is gone. So today I was on the phone with IBM/Lenovo premium tech support. In short the drive on the computer is GONE. So Newegg has my $200 and I am $200 poorer with nothing to show for it except forward my warnings to Consumer Affairs about the products Newegg sells and the abysmal customer care Newegg delivers and warn as many as I can reach what lousy products Lenovo(IBM) sells to the unsuspecting public and Newegg splits with the profits.

I am convinced that IBM sold the product at a cut rate too good to be true, and Newegg people saw the $$$ to be made and quality or customer care be damned!!!! Newegg offered to take back the pc and reimburse my shipping and handling but, honestly I am struggling with the lowest level of trust that Newegg people won't sell it to another unsuspecting newbie who has never bought from them before. If Newegg doubts that I even called IBM tech support (which by the way Newegg gave me the USA contact line not the Canadian toll free number), Newegg can request to verify the call because they have my name, phone number and e-mail and I spoke with the client care person that went by the name of Michelle.

Oh ya and by the way (not that Newegg company has any conscience by handling of this issue) the IBM tech support that deals with their refurbished pcs won't lift a finger to help once the warranty runs out, so I bet my bottom dollar that I am only one of hundreds maybe thousands of unsuspecting "suckers" buying products under only a 30 day warranty from Newegg that don't know how miserly, shrewd and sly Newegg is about holding onto the hard earned cash right down to a dime and the mucking about turn-around time of 7-10 days between communications seems to be part of the strategy to make sure that 30 days runs just before the pc/product does. Rule of thumb with Newegg: if the sale is too good, stay away!!!!

Newegg will see no further business from me or anybody I can warn away from your company. As for the persons who recommended purchasing from Newegg, oh yes I will detail the history and they can make their own decisions, but just guess how this is going to sound, and what the optics look like as the story continues to pass on and on and on and on and on. The 1 and half star rating (out of 5 for excellent customer service) on the consumers sites that Newegg so proudly wears (yes I am being facetious, ergo sarcastic) seems to be disappearing.

My personal opinion, given how shaken I am at losing $200, that Consumer Affairs should issue icons of "rotten" eggs synonymous with the company's name and see what level that sinks to (or stinks to) by the growing volumes of disenfranchised buyers reporting their dealings with this company. I feel for the employees who have to wear the brand when seeing this type of shenanigans. Goodbye, good riddance, never again!!!! Same for IBM and any refurbished pc they have the gall to resell I will go the other way.

Newegg has declined tremendously in the past few years. They used to be a great discount computer/electronics website with great customer service and an easy return policy. Now, they give some good deals, but at the cost of customer service and a great return policy. Most online companies give a certain amount of time (and between Black Friday and Christmas usually an extended) return policy with no-hassle and sometimes free return shipping. Newegg disappoints by charging return shipping on top of a 15% restocking fee which is outrageous and basically extortion. I would have returned a few smaller computer parts that were $20-25 but the shipping would have cost around $11 plus the 15% restocking fee per item, which made it worse than keeping the items.

I recently went through a problem with a motherboard (from another company - not Newegg) that was defective and thought the memory ordered from Newegg was defective but ordered a new set of memory (also from Newegg, not knowing at the time it was the motherboard that was defective) to test and sort out the issue. I am now returning the one set of memory that cost $279.99 and losing the $11 (shipping) plus $42 (restocking fee) which is ridiculous at the least. I'm set with just cancelling my Newegg Preferred Account and credit card and spending my money elsewhere... The little money saved from deals does not make up for the horrible return policies and enormous fees that come with them.

Customer service rep was great, although I can't say as much for Newegg itself. I was told my order would ship before I sent the wrong item back. But in the email sent to me, it stated the opposite. I did not reply to the email because it stated I had to send the item out first but I was told otherwise by a Newegg customer rep by email. So I ended up having to wait an extra 7 days for nothing when I could have just replied to the email even though I have yet to send the wrong item back.
