The only reason I got a cellphone was because I live with my daughter and her husband. When they're gone and I'm outside, I like to have that with me. I have Jitterbug but I had a different phone before and it wasn't any good. On the other hand, Jitterbug is a good cellphone. I didn't use the phone a lot at first but I'm going to start using it more now to call my relatives more. Moreover, I couldn't ask for nicer people than their team. I called not very long ago to see how many minutes I had left and the representative told me that I can find it out from my phone without having to call the service.

My husband was looking for a new phone and he doesn't use data or text. We wanted a plain simple phone which is what Jitterbug advertises. Every time I call their team, it's always been great. We went to Vancouver, Canada and the phone worked like charm. My husband was able to make and receive calls and there were no additional fees. It was a very pleasant experience. Sometimes the phone is a little too simple, but it surprisingly exceeds expectations. Jitterbug does what they say it can do and in this day and age, that's hard to find.

I had TracFone and I was having problems paying my bill with them. It was all right for the cost, but when I tried to get in touch with them, it was almost impossible and there were things that came up that I needed to talk about. I'm in a senior residence. Some of the people had Jitterbug and they liked it. I had just recently lost my husband, so I decided I needed something to be very stable to help me out and I knew that Jitterbug was stable. When I called GreatCall, I got right through and everything was very helpful, and I decided I needed that security. I am very pleased with Jitterbug. I don't use it very often and my minutes mount up and I lose them. I wish I could carry over a few more of the minutes.

My experience with Jitterbug was very satisfying and I'm completely happy with it. My previous provider was fine except they only have one flip phone they offered me and I couldn't read the screen and it wasn't big enough. So when I saw my mother-in-law's Jitterbug and I could read it, I got one. Their reps were knowledgeable, helpful and answered my questions. The company is doing a marvelous job for the amenity they serve.

I needed a cellphone because my daughter was quite ill. I didn't want a lot of fluff and not a whole lot of time on it either, so I looked at Jitterbug and got one. It was nothing but a phone. I left and went to another carrier. When I came back, my old Jitterbug would not work. I was a little disappointed at first because I couldn't get my original phone number back. Somebody had said that I could, and when it came down to it, I couldn't. It made it difficult for other people more than it did for me.
I got a Samsung, an upgrade. However, I kept getting all these messages from people and couldn't text back because I don't text. The person who was sending out the text messages was somebody who was setting up training for one of the department stores in Mission Valley, and I couldn't reply to anything that they sent. There was no way to block off a phone number according to Jitterbug. The other carrier's phone was just too complicated for my simple mind so the Jitterbug is 100 percent better. I also have the star 5 with Jitterbug now. It's there should I need it.

My power and phone service was off for over a month and I live in the country and was stuck out there. I wanted the simplest, easiest-to-use phone I could find, which was Jitterbug. I carry it with me in case I have a problem, and also because I have my 90-year-old mother living with me. I have used it when I was in a grocery store and was trying to find my friend. The only thing is I was wondering how come it's damn expensive for all of the taxes. I am paying $20 instead of the $14.99 that was said, so I've got almost over $5 worth of taxes. Other than that, Jitterbug has worked great.

I am so pleased with Jitterbug. It works so much better than the other phone I had. This lady that lives here in the same building I live in, was showing the Jitterbug to me one night at dinner. She was telling me how easy it is and how much she loves her Jitterbug. And it's been great, especially now that I moved into independent living. The local calls are easy here but for the long distance call, they charge quite a bit and that's why I got the Jitterbug.

Jitterbug is expensive for a flip phone. Also, I had to add some minutes because we had a death and it costs $16.95 and that's a little high for me. But I like that 5Star feature in case something happens. I try not to use my cellphone unless I have to because I still have a landline but Jitterbug is good for traveling in the car or anywhere, especially if I break down. I also don't have any trouble getting a hold of their reps. I'm very satisfied.

I’ve had a big old cellphone before that I had to have for work. But when I retired, I didn’t have to have that so I dropped it and got Jitterbug. I am 74 years old. I live by myself and Jitterbug is my buddy because I don’t go anywhere without it. Jitterbug goes with me to the bathroom, when cooking, to the store and taking my dogs out. I live in a condo and we have almost 11 acres. We have a river that goes through the complex and we have hills and dales and you go up and down, and it’s wooded. If I fall or something happens, I can press that red button on my Jitterbug and they know where I am right then. My old Verizon phone did that too but I had to carry a big thick thing to deal with it. I wouldn't carry it around.
However, I was a little confused when I got my Jitterbug. But I just called their team and said, “Wait. Walk me through this.” And they did. There had been times when there were some things that I could use and I couldn’t remember how to get to it, so I called them and asked them to show me how. Jitterbug is wonderful and I don’t know what I’d do without it. It makes me feel comfortable. It is light and it fits in my pocket. I wear mostly jeans and if I go somewhere, I take it and put it in my purse. It’s easy to recharge - I just plug it in and in a little bit, it’s full. I can also take pictures with it. Jitterbug is really a nice thing to have.

It was a fabulous experience and I absolutely feel safer with the Jitterbug phone. I'm disabled and that emergency button on there is a God-send to me to know that I have it if I need it. Their people also helped me get phone numbers and put those on my phone for me. I didn't have to worry about logging them in on my own. Tremendous help. I have recommended Jitterbug to three different friends because they’re also disabled. I told them about the little button on the phone and they were very impressed with it.

So far, I’m completely satisfied with the service and the phone. Now, I can take my home phone with me if I want.

My husband had a stroke back in 2012 and I figured that Jitterbug would be a good thing to have but I never acted upon it until this year. When my husband passed away, I decided to move from Kansas to Nevada where my son is. I'm not living with him, but I'm close to him. I thought Jitterbug would be the best idea for me 'cause I'm now 67 years old. It would help me connect with my son in case I have any problems. I feel a lot better and much more secure with it except I can't remember to carry it with me all the time. It makes me feel so much safer having the GPS locator and the 5Star activated just in case. I'm looking at getting a mobile home in a senior community and therefore, Jitterbug will help immensely.
I tried AT&T before, but being older and with the phones now shrinking to smaller sizes, I could not figure it out for about three years. I was not getting another cell phone until I found Jitterbug. Their people have been terrific too and I haven't had any complaints whatsoever. If I had any problems learning it, I either referred back to the manual or gave them a quick call. They've worked everything out so far. I have been telling a lot of people about Jitterbug.

We were with my daughter on AT&T before but it was costing her quite a bit. We got Jitterbug and we like it very much. Since he quit working, he doesn't use it much but it's there if he does because we don't have one in the car. I was afraid for him to be out alone without a phone. We're 80, 85 and it gives us a lot of peace of mind. It works great and I can call him or he can call if he gets in trouble. I'm really glad he got it. The Jitterbug team was very friendly and knowledgeable every time we've called. They're very nice people.

I've had one conversation in the last three months that I've owned my Jitterbug and it was fine and clear. I keep the phone in the car for emergency use and I don't give the number to anybody. We had AT&T service and it was very reasonable at the time when we got it. But, it got to where they were changing things around and it wasn’t convenient for me. So, we wanted to get another type of phone and Jitterbug was the most reasonable my husband had read about in one of his magazines. We have it for convenience. Since there are no payphones anymore in this world, we need availability to a phone while we’re out and about.
With AT&T, the reception was getting limited in areas. He couldn’t walk into a store without being cut off. On the other hand, we get very good reception with Jitterbug. He can walk into a store, call anywhere in that store to me at home, and ask questions about what he was shopping for. Overall, we’re happy that we made the change.

I've had Jitterbug now for several months and I like it. Some older person like myself who didn't want to fool with a smartphone told me about it. Jitterbug is different from other cell phone providers because I'm able to get on the contacts by dialing 5 and it's easier to navigate for me and for my wife. I've had several conversations with their team and they've all been polite, courteous, and the job got done. It's a good phone with good service. Good for older people. Next step is if I want more services, I'd probably go with one of their smartphones and see how that goes. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Jitterbug is serving me well and I'm enjoying it. I have fewer worries because I live alone and if I made a mistake and fell, somebody would find me. I feel more comfortable because I have that and I could holler for help easily. The only complaint that I may have sometimes with it is I get this call from somebody that I never heard of and I don't know how they happened to get that number and ring. I just say, "You have the wrong number." And they hang up. Overall I'm very satisfied with it and I know of some other people who have one and they feel the same way.

My neighbor bought a Jitterbug phone and I looked at it and liked it, so I got one too. The only thing that I have it for is because I travel weekly along the parkway in Virginia and that has no conveniences there at all. It's just going through wilderness. If I hit a deer or anything like that, I have no way in which to get help. So, I take this phone with me whenever I go to that parkway. Since using it, I have a little bit better feeling going down the parkway, now that I have some way in which to chat with somebody if anything happens.
However, there's something that I don't like about my Jitterbug phone. On the top of the dialing section, the phone has "yes" and "no" buttons. But the "yes" is so close to the 5Star button that occasionally, if I'm switching from "yes" to "no," I accidentally and unknowingly hit the 5Star button, and of a sudden they have all sorts of phone calls to call them back and asking, "What's the problem?" But I see on their newer phone which is thin and long that they now have that 5Star button down at the very bottom, and that looks like something I might like to think about.
The prime reason for my having the Jitterbug phone is just to be able to dial the phone easily and receive the call when the phone rings. I don't use a lot of the phone's functions and I'm not particularly interested in all the little gizmos that they have in there. There are more functions there than what I really need, and that's why I might be more interested in that thinner Jitterbug phone, because they say that it's very simple. But I haven't found anything wrong with my Jitterbug phone, other than it gets a little complicated.

I didn’t want to buy an expensive phone. I always seem to lose them. I don’t talk very much on the phone, too...so having a Jitterbug is reasonable. I had AT&T for a couple of times before and it takes me forever to get hold of them. I get a little more with Jitterbug as far as their services. Their team was wonderful -- they set me up just by talking to me. With other cell phones, I figure it out and if I make a mistake, I'm in trouble and start all over again. With Jitterbug, it’s like talking to a friend on the phone. It’s like having somebody real, not a computer that tells you what to do.

My mom's Jitterbug has been pretty good, but we do have some issues. She is also hard of hearing and it only rings 5 times before going to voice mail. I wish I could extend the number of rings so she could catch the call. Also, although she keeps her volume on "max", it needs to be louder. Lastly, many times, I've been sitting with her and her phone doesn't even ring, but you'll suddenly hear a "ding" that someone has left her a voicemail. She misses most of her calls for some reason, and we can't figure out if it's the phone or us.

I ordered a Jitterbug flip phone for my Mom who is 80. The first phone delivered promptly - YEA! NOT SO FAST, it would not activate. I stayed on phone for over an hour restarting the phone. Only to be passed to the Tech support who promptly had me restart and waiting 4 more times. I was told to do it by a window, in yard, now the backyard, in a car, and now my house. Good News--they are sending pre-activated phone - YEA! BUT WAIT. After waiting 3 weeks (I was told two weeks) I called GreatCALL CS. It was never shipped. Good News--they are expediting a pre-activated phone - Yea! NOT SO FAST. After waiting 1 more week, I called. It never shipped. Good News--I can now activate my current phone. YEA! NOT SO FAST. After an hour and wait time for Tech support to do something. No luck. But, I did speak for an hour to a nice CS person in Reno and a helpful (or I thought so) tech person.
GOOD NEWS--They are expediting a activated phone to be received in 3 days and giving my $60 credit for my inconvenience. YEA! BUT WAIT NOT SO FAST! 4 days now and no phone. I call and they give me tracking number. Shows label printed. COOL! It is on its way. BUT WAIT. But after calling 2 days after shipping label printed and USPS not getting package, I am told it is over a week wait for the phones to actually get shipped. That would be OK if I actually believed these guys. How do I know that it will actually ship on the third promise? When I mention returning item, suddenly they want to make me happy, but without the actual phone I will never be happy. They charged my mom's credit card and tonight I will dispute the charge and plan to return the phone. The phone looks like just what I wanted for my Mom. The service and disaster that they have in fulfillment has ruined the transaction.

As a surprise gift my husband bought both of us Jitterbug Flip phones. I had owned Jitterbug phones for over 10 yrs and they were perfect for my needs. The first Jitterbug Flip phone I received had to be replaced because there was no response when I touched the keys. The new phone is the same way. I just tried to get into my phone book and it took over 30 seconds for it to respond. Then to scroll down to the phone number I wanted takes 14 or more seconds for each. This is a junk phone. I want this phone for emergencies only but obviously that would be impossible. But surprise. My husband's phone works. Why did they send me a second phone that doesn't work?

My husband seemed to have trouble being able to hear with other cell phones and we thought we would give Jitterbug a try. We can contact each other if we’re in a store and he goes one way and I go another way. Or sometimes he’ll go to a dentist’s appointment and then he’ll call and say, “Is there anything you need from the store?” so that helps.
He doesn't use it that much, though. But, when he checks, it’s charged up to 90 percent but then overnight or when there’s a call, it can go down to 60. Maybe it’s because he hasn’t looked at it for a few days and it’s been draining. We had a new battery sent out before our year was up because it was draining quickly. Additionally, sometimes he has a little problem hearing and Jitterbug is not loud enough. It would be nice if there was a feature of a speakerphone on it. Other than that, the reps are very helpful. When you have a problem, you call and you talk to a live person. It is very rare and we like that very much.

I have been a GreatCall customer for about 8 months and it has not gone well. Tech support is horrible. In the past month I have called 3 times, each time on the phone with a rep for 20 mins plus and with no resolution to the problems with my phone. What has happened each time after appx 20 mins the rep tells me to call back because they are busy. This is NOT good customer service.
MY Jitterbug phone has numerous problems. Most of the time I can not access my voice mail, when I do I'll get a message telling me there are no messages. I check and find out have several messages. Often I call in to check messages and cannot get through, line goes dead. Battery life is terrible. I use the phone about once a day. I might make 1 or 2 calls a day and at the end of the day three battery life is about 50%. My advice is to stay away from this company.

Mike, We understand your frustration and appreciate your feedback. The issues being described appear to be network coverage related. The weaker a signal is, the harder the battery will have to work. Voicemail notifications are also delivered through the network and may be delayed or undelivered if the network is unable to immediately deliver them directly to the phone due to reception and connectivity. My husband is developing dementia and was very confused trying to use his iPhone, so I thought he needed something's that's very simple, and the Jitterbug is the simplest and most concrete operation phone that I have heard of which is working well for him. He only calls and doesn't text. So the problem was helping him remember how to access a message, and it still is. But he could flip it up and it says "phonebook", and he can then click "yes", go down and can now see our daughter's number, our grandson's, my number and the home number too if he doesn't want to call me on the cell. It's as perfect as we can get for him. The Jitterbug phone is easy to use, tells you when it’s running low on battery and there’s plenty of information from it if someone pays attention to look at it. It's efficient and is so much better than the other phone. Also, when we called the Jitterbug team, our concern was handled very quickly and without issue.

I was very excited to try the GreatCall Jitterbug, however, for something advertised as easy to use etc...the disappointing truth of it was that after initial call going over everything, I had the issue of keeping my present phone number. I was assured no problem that he would take all the information so that when I received my phone just a simple 1,2,3 and then activated. Not the case at all. And after dealing with a supervisor Addy who was not helpful, just insincere and condescending, and just trying to blame everything on the previous representative, I'm not looking to blame or get anyone in trouble, I just want to have faith in this switch, which I was not getting. What I got was a bunch of people with a good theory. But I don't think you're ready to compete with the big companies. Too much down time. Too many inconsistencies, and a lot of **.
I would not recommend this phone yet, especially for the older population. They don't need or deserve all the aggravation and drama. I have returned my phone for a full refund. And even after all of my stress, Addy said they can't refund all my money. That they will have to keep $10 stocking fee. So I feel that it is only fair to warn people that before you order make sure you go over everything. Take names of who you talk to because they all seem to throw each other under the bus. There is no accountability, just to get the corporate address, I have 2 addresses? So I will send to all of them and then I feel that customer beware with this phone right now.

Lynn, We understand your frustration. GreatCall is committed to providing the highest level of Customer Service and we apologize for any inconvenience. Should a new customer wish to transfer an existing service number from one carrier to another, they should first ensure that the current service is active with no scheduled cancellation in place with the current carrier and should be prepared to provide the required account security information so that the current carrier can release the number to a new provider. Additionally, should a customer cancel within our 30 day return period, the original non-refundable shipping charge, a $10.00 restocking fee and any applicable taxes are retained from the refund. I have a lot less worry since getting it knowing I can call him if I need to. I know he likes having it. He carries it all the time on his belt while it's always in my purse. The people from Jitterbug are very pleasant and nice. From the 15+ calls I've made to customer service, they were unable to activate the phones. Every time I called I received a different message on why it didn't work. Not one consistent message. Everything from "Yeah we know the flip has problems," "we are doing a software update," "we have to wait for the code to clear," yadda, yadda, yadda.
I have over 5 hours in call times from waiting for customer service to answer and trying to troubleshoot the problem. Today, they still could not active the phone. This is ridiculous! From asking me to go outside in the road to active the phone to standing on the patio. Really??? Your target market is the elderly! You expect someone to go out in the street with their walker? There is no way an elderly individual could navigate the crap that I have been trying to navigate the past 10 days! In fact they told me this past weekend 5/14 that I would have to wait until Monday when technical support could clear a service code. What a joke.
My father has been without a phone for 5 days!!! We bought the phone so he would have medical alert and an easy phone to make calls. Do not... I repeat do not buy a Jitterbug! Go to you local carrier and purchase a phone. As of writing, 10 days post purchase we DO NOT HAVE A WORKING PHONE! Run far away from purchasing a Jitterbug!!!

They said that if I pay my bill, they will correct the problem, so I told them that if a bill is on the way, I'll pay it. The rep said it should be corrected the next time I get my phone, but I was still overcharged the next time I got my phone. And then, they said I didn’t pay my bill. I told them I’ve always paid my bills and I don’t need them anymore, and I threw my Jitterbug in the garbage can. The gal called me back shortly, and I had to dig it out of the garbage can. Several days ago, I purchased the Jitterbug Flip. At 75 years old, it appeared exactly as something I could use and rely on. All went well for two days. After that, it would not hold a charge for more than a few hours. I called customer service and they were really very nice. The lady sent me out a new battery which (hopefully) should arrive today. As long as I kept the phone charged, I could use it.
However, this morning I am unable to turn the phone on or off. The cover screen remains lighted but with no text etc. Opening it up, the screen remains black. The phone, according to directions, must be turned off to install the new battery, if it arrives. At my age and living alone, I now have no phone at all and am at the mercy of whether or not I can install the new battery safely. I am now very sorry I left Sprint and the use of my old flip phone which held a charge for at least a week. It is too bad, since I liked the look of the Jitterbug and it would have been perfect. Another thing I don't like about it is I lose my minutes if I don't use them. I have 600 minutes a month and it is more than adequate. But that's minor. I just wish my unused minutes would just roll over, just like when we were with Radio Shack's Tracfone. But the only thing I didn’t like about it is it didn’t have a cover on it. It’s enclosed. But when you call a GreatCall person, they very nice and they always find the number. My sister likes her Jitterbug very much and keeps it with her. I wouldn’t change for anything.

I don't carry the phone a lot, but I use it a couple of times a week and it seems to be okay. We had a landline before but my wife decided to get rid of it. She got me the Jitterbug. She knew I was anti-telephone so she got me the simplest thing to use she could think of. My cousin got one just like it. We ride motorcycles together and it's one place where we do carry the phones a little bit. I haven't had any trouble with the phone. I would recommend it.

I tried Jitterbug for several reasons. Number one, their low price. Secondly, the large buttons that they had. And thirdly, the large display that they had. For us old people, those are important to us. We had a Verizon phone that had little tiny buttons that we were always hitting the 7 when we meant to hit the 5. Also, the Verizon phone cost us $45 a month and the Jitterbug phone cost us only $15 a month. And as senior citizens on retirement and social security, that becomes a major factor.
When I was getting text messages on the cellphone from somebody that I did not know, and Jitterbug was charging me 50 cents apiece for this - I called Jitterbug and told them I have no idea who it was. They said they can shut it off and they also took off the $1.50 that was being charged for the messages. That was a positive experience for me. I have shown several people my Jitterbug phone when they talk about some of the problems with their phone, particularly the complexity of the phone and/or the small buttons. I tell them that they need to get one of these Jitterbug phones.

So I contacted GreatCall because I have had nothing but trouble with every other phone I have had. I wanted something simple, and what GreatCall was offering was what I needed. It’s worked perfectly. Their customer service was great. I had trouble getting my phone to activate when I bought. I must’ve spent three hours talking to somebody trying to get it to work, and finally got somebody that could help me get it activated. It has been nothing but pleasure ever since. I’ve had nothing but good experience with GreatCall. The best company I’ve dealt with.

The team members of Jitterbug are good, patient and kind. We went with them because my husband wasn't able to use all the other phones he had tried. But even though he has the Jitterbug phone on him, he can't necessarily make a call. He has no fine motor skills and struggles to even press the buttons. I guess it helps that he does have the Five Star. So even though he's accidentally hitting the button, and he's not in trouble they call me and asks if he's okay.

I have recommended Jitterbug to a number of people because I'm very happy with their service, and it's affordable. They give me a lot more for my money for a lesser price. Being retired with limited income, it's wonderful. I have the 5-star feature on the phone, and since I am older, I want to have access to that in case I need help for medical problems or other emergencies. There are so many crazy things going on, and it makes me feel a lot better knowing that there's help with a push of a button. My husband needs a basic phone and I need one with bigger screen. I got one Jitterbug for my husband and one for myself. Their customer service is awesome. I never felt like the rep was in a hurry to get me off the phone. She was present with me the whole time, and answered all of my questions. She was also very pleasant. We even had a little bit of personal chatting that interspersed with the more technical stuff. That's what I look at as really good customer service, building a rapport. That's important in this work.

I saw Jitterbug in a magazine article. I had been disappointed with my phone before as the numbers were so small. It was hard to always get the right number that I wanted to press. So I had this irritation and then Jitterbug showed these large numbers, and that’s the main reason I bought it. In the past, as I was learning how to run the phone, I called the customer service and they were very helpful. They hire some good people out there.
Having the Jitterbug has some benefits and detriments with it. I really liked the feature with the clock and the date in it as it helps me a lot. But people are calling me who just wanted to sell stuff and I have to answer this phone. I don’t know who they are because the phone just lists the number. I also would like to suggest that Jitterbug should give a strip-down version that doesn’t have all the added features like call waiting. It would really help old people who are on fixed budgets. It would also be better if they could make the numbers even bigger for people who have jittery hands. But I would recommend Jitterbug.

The last time I called Jitterbug, I told them I wanted to activate the emergency button. The rep explained that I have choices of 200 to 800 minutes, and then I also wanted voicemail. I was disgusted with my Verizon telephone service. It was just junk and terrible. I couldn't get it to work half the time. It was too complicated to try and figure out to do anything with it. I hated it. What I wanted a cellphone for is to make phone calls and receive them. I didn't want to have to do trigonometry on it or all these other crap which I wasn't interested in and didn't want anything to do with. That's what other providers want to keep pushing on their users but it's a waste of my time and money. I switched to Jitterbug and don't have any problems at all. I have a very good experience with Jitterbug. In fact, my wife may get one in another year or so when she can get out of her contract with Verizon.
However, she was just telling me this morning that she saw an ad in a magazine about the fancy Jitterbug Touch smartphone. It says it's only $17.48 a month. I had another one before that which would lock me out and I couldn't get back on my phone. The other providers like to emphasize on some of the stuff that are overly complicated. I've had four phones in the past six years that I don't want. They're either too complicated, did not work or were not what I needed to deal with if I was to have a phone on a day-to-day basis. On the other hand, Jitterbug was good for what it was. It's exactly what the commercials always said, it's easy to use. It also suits my needs and makes my life a lot easier. I was also told by Jitterbug that my new Jitterbug cellphone could not be activated. The phone works perfectly. I asked if Jitterbug Model J had operational difficulties and was told that it works perfectly. However the Jitterbug company said that Model J phones, even though they work perfectly, were not activated because of their company policy. The denial of service for the Model J was denied because of a corporate decision. I then asked if I could turn in my Model J and get credit for this phone and was told NO!! I told Jitterbug that this was a corporate policy of planned obsolescence which renders a perfectly good phone inoperative. Then I asked if their termination of service entitled me to some compensation and their answer was again NO!!
They wanted me to buy a new cell phone even though I had a good operating unit. Then I was directed to a sales representative and told her my story. Again I was told that Jitterbug only was only interested in selling me a new unit and to throw away my perfectly functioning older cellphone unit. This is a corporate decision in which the profit motive is paramount and the customer is cheated of service and left to buy a new product. Corporation profit comes first and the customer comes last.

When I called Jitterbug because we had paid for a replacement, they basically said "no", they weren't going to replace it. That was bad because we had been paying for the insurance of it. I ended up having to go to Best Buy and buy the Jitterbug with the 5Star button on it. My dad got confused about that at first but I told him to never touch the red button unless he needed the police. I also ended up having to buy it there because it was cheaper through them and I was somewhat lied to by Jitterbug about the warranty and the insurance that I was paying for. Other than that, I've had a very successful experience with Jitterbug and I'd recommend them.

I'm 72 and I'm not into all this modern-day touch the screen and go here and there. It's mind-boggling. My kids had gotten me phones throughout the last few years, and they're too complicated. I had Verizon and I've had TracFones which I absolutely hate because every time I'd go to renew my minutes, I had to deal with some foreign speaking person that I could not understand. I wanted a phone that acted like a phone and use it like a phone. My brother-in-law had a Jitterbug and I had seen how it operates with him. It was nice and easy and it didn't have things that I didn't use. I love it.
When I first signed up for Jitterbug, I called one day before my payday to see if I was going to be interested in getting it. This young woman was so helpful, she did everything. All I had to do was call the next morning and got the money to them through my bank. It couldn't have been easier. We live back in the woods and I don't have cell phone service, even with Jitterbug inside my mobile home. But all I have to do is step out on the porch. I basically got it so that when my husband and I are out, we have connections.
I would recommend it to anybody that wants just a phone service, not a computer to hold in your hand. I like the peace of mind it gives me. With my husband and I being older, it's nice that if we're out and we would have a problem or need to contact one of the kids, I know I can pick it up and use it. I could even put numbers in this myself. And the little phone case that they sent me with it goes on my handbag strap and it stays there.

I'm legally blind and since using the Jitterbug, it practically changed everything in my day-to-day life. I like the fact that somebody is finally thinking of other people besides themselves when it comes to the phone because the Jitterbug happens to have much larger number and there are more setups you can use. I firmly enjoy it. If I'm using it properly, it will be perfect. Sometimes I don't think I'm using the phone properly because I'm confused with the way the setup is. I need somebody to sit down and go over the for the large numbers.

I got Jitterbug for my wife because it has big letters and bigger buttons than the little cell phones. A lot of times on the little phones, she'd mash the wrong buttons. I used to have Boost Mobile before Jitterbug, and I'd say Jitterbug's better because the phones got bigger letters for her to see. Plus it gives us the advantage of having medical updates about telling her what she can do, and how to help her do this. She gets text messages about every day. Jitterbug is a fairly good phone. I think it's the seniors would be more of the advantage than teens.

My husband had a smartphone which we had bought for me but I couldn't deal with it. I went back to flip phone which was a different one than we have had and I couldn't see the numbers. It was too confusing for me so he got me the Jitterbug. The phone service is good. Also, it's very simple and it's easier to answer, and all of my friends agree. The only thing about the phone was that when I put the people's name that I'm going to call and the numbers, it doesn't automatically alphabetize it. That would have been something that I would've liked in there. But I'm very happy with it. I have recommended it and my neighbor got one. I wish I'd had it a couple of years ago.

I'm enjoying my Jitterbug service. I like the looks of the phone but the only thing I can't understand is why they haven't designed the case for these and it never completely charges to 100%. I didn't know if that was the way it's supposed to be or not, as it goes up to 90. But overall I do enjoy it. I've had different cell phone providers in the past and I like this better than the others. I had another that was just by the minutes in the cards and I got sick of always having to remember to buy the cards. So I wanted it automatically taken out so I don't have to worry about this one. I'm very satisfied with Jitterbug.

I bought the Jitterbug phone for my husband as a Christmas present. Looking at the larger screen and the bigger buttons, I thought it would be easier for him to use. The person that I talked to when I ordered the phone was very nice, informative, and answered all the questions that I had about the phone. I enjoyed talking to him. The phone is all set up for my husband to use, but he is old school and loves his old flip phone. I told him the other day that I was going to send the Jitterbug back and he said he'll use it but he hasn't yet. If he would use it, he would find that it's a lot easier to use. He could find his contacts easier without having to scroll through every number in his phone, and that in itself is the best thing about it that I can see.

It is so relieving to have a phone that I can use and feel comfortable with. The people are very friendly, helpful and treats me with dignity. And when they call me, I can't hear them. I don't know if I pressed a wrong button on the side or not, but it's happening with every call. I'm learning more with it, though. I had a big AT&T phone that I could not figure out. It had little things across the bottom and I didn't know what they meant, so I gave my husband that phone and bought myself the Jitterbug. I’m learning a little bit at a time. I know how to retrieve the photograph that our daughter sends all the time, and I don't have a complaint at all about it. I bought a Jitterbug phone for my neighbor. She's elderly, can use it and does. She's thrilled to death with it. She's in a care center and is now on regular dialysis. She calls me from dialysis every time she goes there and she feels so isolated if she can't call whom she wants to call. Not being able to do what she wants to do, when she wants to do it, is very frustrating for her. She wanted a phone so bad in the care center she's in. They have a phone available, but she ran into having to dial and the numbers on the phone aren't big.
So Jitterbug seemed the perfect solution for her. Her Jitterbug phone has given her a new window to the world and definitely some independence. When we looked into cell phones for seniors with medical alert service, Jitterbug got the best rating as far as the people who have used them whom I talked to goes. Jitterbug designed their phone so that it's exceedingly easy to use for someone who is incapacitated in several ways. It's great that all my neighbor has to do to answer the phone is open it, and to hang up she only has to close it. The numbers are big, so they're easy to read. It's also a huge benefit that there are no buttons to push for answering calls.
I programmed the numbers that she would want to call into her phonebook. She seems to find my number fine and she has also called other people. I said, "You just have to push the little arrow down until you find the person." And I leave her phone number on the phonebook. For somebody who's not going to use all of the menu, it might be a good feature if her phone defaulted to phonebook because that's usually what she wants.
Another thing that would be good is if they had a lanyard that hooked on and off easily. She doesn't wear it all the time at the care center because she's in her own room then. But when she's out for dialysis, they put it around her neck and she can then call whomever she wants because the lanyard is long enough that she can open the phone and put it up to her ear. But I'd like to be able to have the Jitterbug phone not text because she doesn't text. Moreover, I can't delete the text messages on her phone, like I can on my phone, although her calls can be deleted, and it's also not easy to delete the people that have called her.

The only reason I have the phone is to stay in contact with the VA hospital. So that was out. I got my bill and they are charging me extra for incoming calls.

Raymond, We are sorry to hear that you are receiving unwanted calls. Because of how frequently individuals are changing phone numbers and carriers, all phone numbers go through a recycling period and it is possible that you were issued a number that a previous individual was using. Our records show that we have not billed you any additional charges for airtime overages. We so see, however, that because you have selected the pay per use texting option, there have been charges for text usage on your bills. -Abel, GreatCall Operations

Kim, Our records indicate that on 11/5/2015 a free month of service was accepted to see if a new/alternate user of the phone could be found. Thus, there was no charge processed in November. At that time you were advised that if no new/alternate user could be found, then you should call us to cancel the account.
