The text messages were too small on the phone I had, and I couldn't read them. I got a Jitterbug phone and I’ve been using it for three months now. The messages are much easier to read and the general operation of the phone is good.

My sister-in-law had Jitterbug Flip and I liked it so I contacted Jitterbug. Their representatives were fine and all interactions with them went very well. The phone is very easy to use and it's just what I need. If they ask I'll tell my friends that Jitterbug is the phone that does basic things, for calling or texting without paying for a lot of all the added extras of other phones.

I got the Jitterbug Flip because I liked how it looked. It's smooth up and I like how the numbers on it are so big. But I don't like that I have to bend the phone during a call so people can hear me since it's too long for my face. And my arm gets tired if I have a long conversation. But their customer service has been fine and their reps were professional and courteous.

In general I'm satisfied with the Jitterbug, BUT one big, big flaw is that the "speed dial #" given to each entry in the phone book as you enter, then changes to another when one then makes a deletion elsewhere in the phone book. VERY BAD for those of us seniors who rely on speed dial to make immediate contact with someone when in an emergency situation.

My experience with Jitterbug is fine. The phone is nice if you need big buttons. It makes it easier to read. However, I wish the phonebook was in alphabetical order. The order the contacts are in is however you put it in and I don’t like that at all.

Hello Pat, by pressing 0 and yes on your Jitterbug Flip, you will connect to Operator Services. Operator Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please ask an operator to arrange your contacts in alphabetical order. Or by setting up your GreatCall account online you can also arrange your contacts to your liking.

I wanted something to take with me in the car when I go somewhere so that if anything happens, I can have a phone. My daughter did all the purchasing online and the Jitterbug phone was mailed to me. In case I fall, I have the device. The one feature I really like is that it has a stand that I can plug it in and it’s plugged in all the time. I’m satisfied with it.

Jitterbug Flip is a good phone and I like it. My wife gave it to me and I've had it for a year now. I'm 75 years old and I'm not a computerized person. I couldn't use my previous phone and it was too smart for me. But with Jitterbug, I understand what's going on with it and it's very easy to operate. I also don't have to worry about which button I'm hitting since they're big. Its hearing is not the best but it's better than the previous phone I had. Their customer service has also been good and professional. I've told my friends about how much I like the phone and my wife is planning on getting one when she retires.

The Jitterbug is a great little phone. I wanted something simple as I just need to connect with the family. If I have an emergency, I can call them or they could call me if there’s an emergency on their side. The alarm goes off when I have it on and somebody wants to call me, the little musical thing comes on. And it’s nice and loud enough that I can hear it. The colors are beautiful and I have the maroon one. The numbers are really bright and big enough for me to see without glasses. The customer service reps are wonderful and they do anything they can to help you. I feel secure with the Jitterbug because I live alone. And my bill stays stable all the time because I don’t text. I would recommend it to anyone.

My sister, Jimmie, needed a phone. She has limited capability, so the simpler the phone, the better. However, with the Jitterbug, we have to usually make the call for her because she can’t figure it out. This morning, I was trying to select a person in her phone book and it was taking a delay. On my phone, I just click and it’s there. I have heard about this problem before and it’s inconvenient. It’s easier for me to use the Jitterbug than for her and sometimes I get frustrated, too. I think it depends on the service. She just needs a basic phone because all she does is call my aunt and my sister and a few other people. It would be so easy if she could just flip it open and have the names listed and she could click on the person she wants. The phone could also have a screen with just the people, like the favorites, because she’s only got five, and then she could just arrow up or down on the screen to the person she wants to talk to. Jitterbug has to make improvements.

Hi Kitty,we are sorry to hear of your recent experience and we appreciate your feedback. Jitterbug Flip phones have speed dial automatically programmed. The speed dial works directly off of the Phone Book entries. No additional programming is needed. For example: Phone book entry #1 = Speed dial #1, Phone book entry #5 = Speed dial #5. This may be an easier option for your sister to try. Also, Operator Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can transfer your sister to any number in her contacts.

Jitterbug Flip is really easy for me to use. I got it after I got tired of paying high rates for my previous phone. My eyesight is not that great since I'm 82 and I could see this phone better. It also has a better camera. I enjoy taking pictures with it, calling long distance, and using it for emergencies, such as when our power goes out. The only problem I have with it is programming the phone numbers I call most. I'm having a hard time seeing the letters when I put names in. Also, once in a while, it would only have service a few minutes after I open it. But I have recommended it and my grandson has it.

I fall a lot and have all those things around the neck from the health department but sometimes they don't work and I grab the Jitterbug which my daughter bought for me a year ago for Christmas. I just called, told them what happened and they sent the ambulance out. Their reps were very friendly and their phone's easier to see as I'm going blind. It’s my emergency service and would have to use it more. But I can't afford to use it very often and make a lot of long distance calls for they're too expensive. I'm one of the Social Security people and my check doesn't get any bigger but the bills do. But I have kids who help me with things and I've been told that I wouldn't have to pay.

My brother had traumatic brain injury and he's in a nursing home. He needed a phone so he can contact family and also a phone with big button so he can see. I gave him a Jitterbug as a Christmas gift and the service has been great. I used it for about four weeks before I gave it to him and it's very simple for a senior with a problem with eyesight. My brother is not a technical person and it's perfect for him. I showed him how to check it, and balance and check. He's enjoying it.
Before, my brother was borrowing phone from some of his friends in the nursing home when he wanted to call somebody. But he has his own phone now, so he has access to his outside family and he can do what he want to do with it. I called Jitterbug in the beginning and the rep was very helpful for everything that I needed to know. The company is very easy to deal with and the customer service people know their product. Overall, it was a very easy and pleasurable experience.

Some number of years ago, since I was considering getting a cellphone, one of my sons who is more knowledgeable recommended Jitterbug Flip. I use it mostly for emergencies or long distance. Two or three years ago, the phone was stolen out of my automobile, and I reported it and their person canceled that number and so forth. I re-purchased another one and they made it possible to call carry over the existing numbers that I recorded on it, which was helpful. In lieu of my very limited use, however, it would be nice to have a lesser cost. I'm already pretty much at the lowest end of the plans available. But, overall, I would recommend them.

I got a Jitterbug phone and it takes a while before I can make a phone call as it seems to take a few minutes before coming in service. I’m an older person and my daughter got me this Jitterbug last year at Christmas. She thought I could understand it more. My other daughter bought me a more fancier one the year before and I didn’t like it at all. So, I had her take it back. But I love this one when I walk to the mailbox. I have quite a way to walk back and forth, down my basement and up the stairs. I also have the Jitterbug by my bed every night and I feel secure because if I need anything, I got my little phone right there and the numbers of my kids so I could get them right away if I wanted to talk. I enjoy it though I don’t put the maximum minutes on there like other people. I talk to my daughters off and on with it, but I’m not on it steady. I have told so many of my older friends about it.

Our friend had one and she really liked it, so I called. I like the style of the Jitterbug phone - I like the big numbers. It is also easy to operate it. That's why I originally bought it for my husband because he has big fingers as those little cellphones just didn't fit him. He could press two numbers at one time. Its cost is also reasonable too. I have had it for four years already and I like having a cellphone away from home. Customer service is very positive and helpful. They always told me what I needed to know and told me what the prices were because I did upgrade once because the battery was wearing out, so I just upgraded to a newer phone.
It's just odd that Sears does not want to service my phone then when I asked if they could put a new battery in mine. But they told me to call Jitterbug instead. So, I ordered online and got mine in the mail. I also deal with my phone via calling, too. One time, though, I was inside the store and my husband was in the car and he said, "Your phone is ringing. They think you're in trouble." I said, "No, I'm not trouble." So I don't know what happened. Some wires got crossed somewhere. But other than that they are a pretty good company.and I'll stick with them. I have no reason not to. We live in a rural area so we don't have the best cell service out here, but a mile away, I can get good cell service.

I’m delighted with Jitterbug. I went with them after a realization that I need to have a phone with me that's relatively simple when I’m out and about. I already had two previous phones that were too complicated and I just left them on the kitchen shelf. I’ve also managed to learn to use the camera which I never used on the other one. I only use it for emergencies as my minutes are very minimal - I've got the most simple plan. I like the knowledge that it’s there if I need it. I go online a couple of times to question things but the manual was very simple and straightforward, so I keep referring to that.

I got a Jitterbug phone for several years, and there was a deal on getting a new phone. I got one and I'm perfectly happy with it. It's still the old flip top phone and I use it for only its most basic uses. It works, I can hear it ringing and I can hear people talking to me, which is a major thing in my life right now. Dialing is easy, too. I don't text though, because it's one thing that's not easy to do on this phone. You have to go through the alphabet in order to get to the letter that you want. It takes forever. But this particular model does what it's supposed to do, and does it efficiently. My concern is losing the phone or breaking it because I don't have a landline. I have the replacement option but that would take at least a week. So if I lose it, I'll be without a phone for a week. That bothers me a little bit because I'm very dependent on it. But the Jitterbug customer service team has always been excellent.

My neighbor showed me a clipping about Jitterbug so I ordered it. While it's cheap, like it's 21 bucks a month, I use it rarely. Seldom do I call my two sons, who live in Seattle and Berkeley who are part of the five people on my list. I do not have a use for it except for a very specific reason and that’s for transportation. I call a company called GoGoGrandparent, which it does the same job as Uber and Lift. As far as how it works, it seems to work fine.
Their representatives were very helpful. They programmed the number into my phone. There had been an error and they corrected it. I haven't asked them to add other names because I just do not use it except to call the travel facility. Other than that, I charge it every three days. I don't know how long I'm supposed to charge it or how often but it seems to work.

I am in a retirement village, so a lot of them have Jitterbug. I hear a lot of good and bad about everything. But I like Jitterbug and I saw they advertised in a couple of the magazines. I get the officer's magazine, my husband was a retired military. I liked the advertisement and it sounded refreshing.
The 5Star helps. When I have the phone in the car and in my handbag, I feel comfortable because of that. I've initially spoke with their reps because it wasn’t charging. She told me that I could keep it on the charger longer. I was only putting it on for a little while. Then I took it out one time and it was not charged. Now, I keep it on the charger. I knew everything as in the book and went through it to do what I needed to do. The book was very good. I set it all up and put my people in there that I call the most. The phone works fine and I feel like when I'm going to get a call, I'm going to receive it.
I've had the phone for two months now and the only thing was when somebody called me, they couldn't leave a message when I was not there. But as I was going through it with a girl working with me in the background, she called and said that feature on my phone was turned off and she couldn't leave a message. I looked through the book and it said that I had to set that up which I hadn't done. There are also a few things I have to ask Jitterbug but I'll call them when I have time. I don't know how to delete a contact and the phone calls that I've made. In my old phone, I always kept that all clear. I haven't looked in the book to see how to do that so it's something I have failed to do.
Other than that, I would highly recommend Jitterbug. In fact, I recommended it to my sister. I also tell my friends who have never had one that my lady up the street bought the Jitterbug smartphone and she loves it. In my case, though, I just need something to take with me when I'm working and on the road that's reliable.

Walter, we are sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with your Jitterbug Flip phone and we appreciate your feedback. Besides the bigger numbers on the key pad, the Jitterbug Flip has speed dial and it is already set up in your phone. It is in the order of your phone book, for example, whoever is in the number 1 spot of your phone book, when you press 1 and yes, you will call that person, 2 gets the second contact and so on. Additionally, GreatCall has personal Operators available to look up numbers, assist with your phone book, or to connect calls for you and you press 0 and yes to reach them. There are two options for the personal Operator, a single use is .99 cents per call or you can have unlimited access for only $9.99 per month. Please keep in mind that your plan minutes are used for the time of the call. For more information, please call Customer Service, 1 800-733-6632, 6am – 7pm, Pacific Time, Monday – Saturday.

Everything's stored, so that makes it easy. He doesn't have to dial any numbers. All he's got to do is hold the one button to get the phone, and that's it. He goes up and down and makes the call.
The only thing is, when somebody is in this kind of situation, the fee that they have is expensive. He only uses very few minutes. I understand that Jitterbug has a baseline. But I wish they could make it a little cheaper for somebody who's using it for just emergency purposes or just somebody checking on him. It wasn't very hard to learn how to use it that my brother showed me how in just about five minutes. What I like best about it is dialing the number. The numbers are so large that you can't make a mistake. I also like the little lights underneath. I don't see on one eye and the other is bad but the numbers are bigger so I can make a call to the hospital if I need to. If I have any trouble, I just press the button and I got the ambulance or I got my brother so I'm happy there. I use it every single day including talking with my brother every morning. I carry it with me anywhere I go so that I can always call the ambulance or the police if something happens to me. I depend on it and I feel a lot safer with it. So far it hasn't died on me as long as I keep it charged.
This year it has worked every time when I was in the hospital for three days. I could talk to my brother in New York until he comes up and keeps me going with the problems I have all the time. My brother turned it real loud so I can hear well what I want to hear and when it goes off. I'll pick it right up and see who's coming today to visit so I didn't have to ask who was coming. Jitterbug has been very nice to me. They have been giving me free items like another carrying case and an adaptor so I can charge it in the car. It's the most wonderful phone and the only one I ever had in my life and if I get another one, it would be the same thing. I'm 100% satisfied and I'm having a great time with it ever since. I already told two people about it and they're going to get them.

I have 5star in my car and my kids brought my phone in the house, so the only reason I bought GreatCall Jitterbug was because I went to Canada and to Alaska. I just need it for an emergency. The guy who sold it to me also told me that I could change carriers anytime I wanted, but their rep told me that my phone was never locked and it's not compatible with AT&T which I have all my stuff with. To me, it's a waste of time and money because it's $33 a month for what I don't use, and I'm trying to find out how I can get it a lot cheaper.

The 5Star app in our Jitterbug was a big thing for me. It brings us emergency help. That’s why we wanted it because, in one button, it’s just like having a separate unit for calling for help. We did not have a cell phone for quite a while before Jitterbug. We could hardly get anything through here. We had a very bad phone but the Jitterbug comes in pretty good. Then we had an experience where our landline was out for almost two days. About a month before that, my husband had fallen and we had to get the paramedics to help him up. I had to go out and get my nearest neighbors. I said, “If anything happens again, I’ve got to have a means.” I bought my phone mainly for that and therefore I wanted the Jitterbug because of its simplicity.
I take my Jitterbug with me every time we leave the home. I like that it's convenient getting to what I wanted. Just open it up and it’s got arrows. It’s got up and down, it’s got yes or no and I’ve got a choice for a 24/7 operator. I’m using it primarily as an emergency phone. When I’m away from the house, the Jitterbug is very good if I needed it. There are also some other things that come up, like driving to the restaurant and you want to call ahead. With the Jitterbug, I know that I have a means of calling if I got stuck or lost.

The Jitterbug Flip fits in good and the letters are bigger, so I'm not pushing other numbers and I can dial it a lot better. Sometimes I need to put in some numbers, but I have a hard time trying doing so. I read that I needed to make contact with them or use the computer to put the numbers in. I called them and they put the numbers in. Most of the people that see my Jitterbug Flip likes it. Especially because it's big and red, plus, based on experience, if they put it down they could see it right away. With the other little phones that I used to have, when I try to push one number I always hit another one and get a different person since my fingers are too big. I'm a retired disabled veteran and both of my knees have been replaced. I got pretty bad operations and I fall a lot. I keep shutting the phone off and turning it back on and then the next time somebody calls, it will ring for probably two different phone calls and then it won't ring again. It just lights up. This isn't getting banged around because it is just sitting right on the table in front of me. And if I'm not sitting here watching, I don't know if somebody is on the phone.
I have a handicapped son who lives in a rest home. He goes to a workshop and he calls me every night when he comes home and tells me what he did. That's why I wanted a cell phone because no matter where I'm at, if I remember to take it, then he could call me. But I can't afford two phones. I'm retired and on social security. I also got stuff on this phone that I don't use like texting and the game thing on it. Just the calling feature on an inexpensive plan is alright, but for the time being, I'll keep this phone although I may go back to my landline sooner or later. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Jitterbug until I find out why it doesn't ring. Also, the price is high and I'm going to see if they wouldn't lower that.

We ordered two new Jitterbug Flip phones to replace our older model phones. There were many issues with the new phones - no rings for incoming calls (just goes to voicemail) or only two or three rings for incoming calls, voicemail message notices but no new voicemails, very long waits for the phones to actually come on after opening, buttons that stick when pressed causing a long tone and delay before you can press the next number, pressing numbers and having intermittent tones from some numbers, screen locking up when scrolling through the menus, complaints from those I've called that they can't hear me (never had that problem with the older flip phone), problem with voicemail being delivered in a timely manner (they are supposedly working on this), and more.
Whoever decided to buy the new flip phones as the next generation replacement model should be fired. These phones were probably very cheap. They are NOT working properly out of the box. Because of the information I was given, I got another carrier's phone instead.
When I called up to cancel Great Call, I was informed that I could have gotten a free smartphone by paying the replacement fee and have reasonable rate for a plan. At this point, I had already gone with the other carrier. The girl continued to try to win me back. I should have hung up because she had me so upset, but it is so hard to get through to them that I stayed on the phone.
In fact I had tried many times recently to get through to them. (They hang up during their recording if you try to get a person.) Since purchasing this flip phone for my mom (2017) it has never worked accurately. I have tried calling customer service to resolve. I don't live near my parents so the only way they can resolve any issue is if you are with the phone. I have Great Call Link app on my iPhone to be made aware of her whereabouts etc. The info is never accurate. I have verified several times with my mom. Even when I'm with her and her Jitterbug, it sends incorrect info to my phone of our location, times. etc. Today's episode was the most horrible.Yesterday her phone once again wasn't working. Numbers were not working it just seemed jammed period. I pressed the 5star button to see if that at least worked. After pressing several times, it responded with an automated voice then put me on hold. OMG Thank goodness there wasn't an actual emergency.
After waiting for a minute or two I hung up. Went home shortly after. 24 hours later I received a call from 5star that my mother had just called and they were not able to reach her after trying her phone, and house phone. I called her immediately on her house phone and reached her. She had not touched her phone all day. It was on its charger. That means that they responded 24 hours later to an emergency call. I was so upset. I called customer service with this alarming information. All they had to say is, "We cannot do anything for you unless you're next to the phone so we can do some troubleshooting."
Troubleshooting a phone 24 hours later would not save my mother if it had been an actual emergency. They had no other solution. What if I was out of state? My Mom can barely answer the phone nevermind troubleshooting with a cust. rep. This company should be investigated for sending fraudulent info to Great Calls app and not taking this incredible incident more seriously.

I love my Jitterbug phone which was given to me by my kids for Christmas. I had a different one before but Jitterbug is 100% better. Their customer service answered very well when I had a couple of questions before and it’s easier to get in contact with people because I do carry it in my pocket. The calling is easier, even though it doesn’t have caller ID, which I’d like for telemarketers. But other than that, I’m completely satisfied with it. It’s great and it's convenient.

I like the big numbers and flip phones so I got Jitterbug. I had a flat phone for a while but I didn't like it because it would dial numbers and do different and I have a fat finger. I had to start all over again and it was frustrating. However, Jitterbug phone doesn’t hold a charge for very long and I’m not even using it. I just have it on and when I turn it off, it takes so long to come up. I might change it to one that's not GreatCalls because they charge me $34.65 a month, but I hardly ever use it. I only use it when I go out and it's not even my primary phone. Also, I don't have any way to get ahold of Jitterbug themselves and I've always gone through GreatCalls. The phone is all right to me, but my son keeps saying, "It's a stupid phone you've got." and he blames it always on my phone. It could be his phone too, but he's got a smartphone and it's more expensive than mine.

A friend of mine had spoken about Jitterbug and then I saw it in a VFW magazine. I had an iPhone but I didn't need it. I just needed the phone in case somebody wants to get in touch with me about something or for phone calls. I'm 86 years old. I only use a computer at night to get messages. However, I find Jitterbug Flip easy to use and I carry it along. We used to go away in the summer and that's when I use it but we haven't gone away lately so I don't use the minimum amount of minutes that I'm allowed. Payment is perfect. It's not a lot and it doesn't eat me up. I just mail the money in and that's all. They have good staff too. Everybody was very helpful with me to get over any problem I might encounter. They run me through whatever every once in a while when I talk to them like when it doesn't recharge properly. It has been very economical and it has everything that I need.

I had a Jitterbug a long time ago when they started out. I had it for a while and gave it up. Then, I went back to it because it’s simple, has big letters and I can read it. It's easy for me to use because I’m 79 and all these fancy things with the internet are too much. I want to make a phone call and not play games or get on the internet. I’m very independent and not one of those people who have phones in their hands every time they’re sitting around doing nothing. I use the Jitterbug to call my kids and the latest one I got is the fold-up phone which is nice. It’s very good and I like it. I was also with a TracFone for a little while but I didn’t like the idea of having to go to the store to get the card every time I ran out of minutes. Jitterbug is handier since it’s billed once a month.

I was having problems with my other phone. Aside from my friend having a Jitterbug Flip, I’ve seen them advertised in magazines, so when my daughter said that she would get me this for Christmas, I jumped on it. I like it, I really do. Once in awhile, I call to reboot it and they explain to me what to do if I ever have problems. Having arthritis, I had a hard time with my old phone's buttons. I like Jitterbug's big buttons though. I also don’t have problems adding and taking out numbers from my phone book. I used to forget to charge my old phone so my battery was running down most of the time. With this, I have the port on my desk and I just set the phone in the port to charge every night.
Cause they have it on the bottom, I have to be careful with accidentally hitting the 5Star or Urgent Care buttons with my thumb when I open the phone. They were very nice and made sure everything was alright when that happened. The last time I closed the phone and they called my daughter. And they said that I had cancelled the 5Star and they were concerned about when it happened. And I said, "I'm so sorry I didn't even realize I had done that." I opened the phone to see if I have any calls and I went to close it and when I did, I must have accidentally hit the 5Star button. That was surprising. When I explained to her what I've done, the rep was very nice about it.

We have recently purchased a Jitterbug flip phone for my elderly father who lives in another state. I have had the occasion to consult customer service three times in the past two days for assistance and on two of the calls I have had to deal with agents who seemed to have issues actually explaining to me how to handle the issues I was encountering, to the point that, when I put a direct question to one woman, all she wanted to do was perform the function remotely rather than explain what needed to be done should my father run into the same problem. T
hree times I asked her DIRECTLY to explain to me what needed to be done and she just kept telling me that she had taken care of it on her end. She got huffy with me and didn't seem to understand that I WAS THE CUSTOMER and that she was supposed to be providing me with SERVICE, not copping attitude. The agents don't seem to listen when you tell them what your issue is and end up asking questions to which you have already provided the answer when they initially picked up the call.
Today the agent seemed to have some problem with her headset or phone as her voice kept cutting out. My call today was to address the fact that all of the entries I had made to this phone yesterday weren't appearing 20 hours later. The agent said that the phone needed to be "refreshed" and that is when the contretemps began. I asked her simply how that was done and she seemed unwilling to tell me how to do it. She did it for me but I wanted to know how my father could do it on his own if he needed to.
Three times I asked and three times got attitude. The same attitude surfaced when I asked why it took 2-4 hours for numbers to be refreshed. Bottom line, she didn't know the answer but was too embarrassed to say so. I should have known this call was not going to go well when she put me on hold for "a brief hold" early in the call - the "brief hold" turned out to be 5 minutes long. I do not hold out much hope for this relationship going forward.

I bought a Jitterbug Flip phone for my sister. I contacted GreatCall to set up the phone and subscribe to their service. What was advertised as a plan for $14.99 per month turned out to cost $35 a month with taxes and fees. My sister could not afford that along with her landline, so she gave up her landline. She had trouble with the phone almost immediately. We called GreatCall several times. They always had us try the same troubleshooting steps, and sometimes they seemed to work for a while and then she would start to have trouble with the charge not lasting, the buttons not working.
Having dropped calls on and on. Several times the company reps told us that there were updates that should have taken place automatically, but that since that hadn't happened they would complete the updates remotely. This sort of thing went on each time we called. We were being patient, since it was the only phone she had and we just wanted it to work. However, the problems continued. Quite often, the phone did not ring when I called to check on my elderly sister who has very poor balance and I was always afraid she might fall –– one of the reasons we wanted her to have the 5-star feature. When I couldn't reach her, I would have to travel to her house to check on her.
It was frustrating for both of us. Finally, even though the warranty had run out. I called to say that since the phone had not worked from the beginning, that I thought they should replace the phone free of charge. The representative acknowledged that he could see that we had called a number of times, but he launched into a series of things that might be wrong, other than the phone or the service. He said that it was probably how we plugged it in, that our electrical system might need updating, that she lives in a remote area, that she must have dropped the phone, that she must not be touching the keys in the center, that she must have spilled something on the keys, that she might have to stand closer to a window, or go outside to use the phone, that she had left it on the charger too long or not long enough, and on and on, getting ever more ridiculous, but none acknowledging that the phone or service might be at fault.
He claimed they test every phone and it could not possibly the problem. He even said that we had to realize that this is a 3-G phone and we are living in a 4-G world. And what we needed to do was to upgrade. I Finally hung up in disgust and went right out and bought a different phone and signed up for a different service where I can actually bring the phone in and have a knowledgeable person see for themselves what any problem might be. I would not recommend either the Jitterbug or GreatCall to anyone. They probably have many satisfied customers, but they do not treat those who are not happy with respect or make a reasonable effort to actually solve problems.

Also, their team was very good at resolving any questions I had and helping me out with the problems I created for myself or deleting and putting new names in.

When I purchased this phone for a dear friend who has Alzheimer's, the person who took the order promised good customer service and ability to work with me so that the billing and the phone would be administered accurately. I live a good distance so required that the billing be sent to me and the phone be sent to her, the billing be in her name but I manage the account. Total chaos and after 3 months I am sending the phone back.
She currently has a Verizon EV3 and that will just have to continue with that one. It is easier for her. Jitterbug cannot handle complex issues involving seniors with Alzheimer's and the support system that is required to assist the billing. GreatCall, if you are honest and let me make a decision based on how you are able to facilitate this account, I could have moved on faster, but instead here we are. After 60+ days I have to send the phone back. I have just tried to contact Jitterbug GreatCall to let them know and after 20 minutes explaining the simple issue, I am sending the phone back. Avoid if you can.

Donna, we are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the GreatCall service you purchased for your friend and we appreciate your feedback. For privacy and security, when an account is set up with only one person as the primary account holder and primary billing contact, only that person can make changes to the account. However, if a person that is not on the account has Power of Attorney, that person, can be added to the account for access, with the proper documentation. I like the way the Jitterbug was set up, it was easy to read and dial but I don’t like that the names don’t sort out alphabetically unlike the Samsung that I had before. We bought the Jitterbug at Best Buy and they set it up for us. I like that if you drop it, it won’t fall apart or break like other cell phones nowadays. We don’t use it for communicating very much but more for an emergency. Or when we’re traveling in the car, that’s when we like it. Otherwise, we use our home phone.

My husband needed a phone that had larger digital numbers for him to see. He had a regular cellphone but now prefers the Jitterbug because of the larger numbers. However, it doesn't ring loud enough and he's hard of hearing. Whenever his hearing aid isn't working, he can't hear the phone and nobody can get a hold of him. Other than that, it's a great phone especially for the elderly. Our experience with Jitterbug has been great and their team has been friendly and very helpful.

Jitterbug phone is nice and convenient for my mother to talk to any members of the family that she wants to. She can just dial it herself and she can hear very good with it. But we’re having a bit of a problem with the Jitterbug lady coming through and suddenly starts talking while my mother and I are conversing. And, when I tried to delete some voicemails, it keeps telling me that I still have voice mails and I go back and try to delete them again but there’s nothing on there. Nonetheless, their reps have been very friendly. Jitterbug is a nice phone with a bit of quirk that comes on there once in a while. Other than that, my mom and I like it.

I was with AT&T and the cellphone I had was very difficult for me to use. On the other hand, Jitterbug seems really simple to use. I've had mine for more than two years already, and I really like it. However, my phone battery hardly keeps the charge anymore. Also, at first, I could get a hold of them on their customer service line, but the last three times I tried, I couldn't get through to them and that really frustrated me. I also wish I could put my photos on Facebook, too. But other than these, I just love it. I'm not one who wants a fancy phone where you have all the apps and stuff. I just want a phone to make calls on and send messages through, and that's what my Jitterbug does.

My daughter asked me if I wanted a Jitterbug since her mother in law has one. She said that the printing is bigger so that’s why I have one. I take pictures with it and it's handy, not too big nor small. I got the lanyard so I can put it around my neck. I use it when I'm out somewhere and if I were to fall or if I had a flat tire. I'm 87 and I have to be careful. I use it sometimes at the house but otherwise, I use my regular phone.
The only thing I have to watch is that when you’re taking a picture, the button is right below that other red tag. One time, I hit the wrong button and the emergency team came on asking if I was okay. I told them that I hit the wrong button which is right above where I hit "Yes" to take a picture. It’s very bad since your real intention is to watch the picture and you turn it sideways to get a different angle. It’s bad planning where they have it right there. I have to be really sure to look first before I push the "Yes" button when I’m taking a picture. Other than that, I love it and I'm very satisfied. I’ve told a couple of people about it.

But my condition got corrected so I’m not in jeopardy as much as I was before. My experience with Jitterbug has been frustrating. The number I have used to be someone else's number so I keep getting calls for that person. So, I have to discontinue using it. I have thought of changing my number but the need for the phone no longer exist at the same level that it did when I subscribed to it. It’s got big numbers and it's nice to have one when I leave the house but I'm better off without the Jitterbug.
Up until this point, anytime I needed to talk to someone with Jitterbug, I have not been able to reach anybody. I’ve had about half a dozen incidents where I needed to talk to someone. One time I picked up my phone and it was black and did nothing so I put it on the charger and it still did nothing. Then the little signal light didn’t even come on as it has the other times. So I got my granddaughter to come out. She pressed some buttons on the side, not on the front, and some combination. She didn’t even know what she was doing but she coincidentally reset it and it started working on the charger. These incidents were frustrating. I’m not very happy with it.

My dad spent $108.24 cash at Best Buy on a Jitterbug flip phone on 4/14/2017. The box says, "$14.99/month NO CONTRACTS." Be sure to ask questions about what the $14.99/month covers because it does not cover voicemail messages. The problems my senior father has had with this phone: 1. Cost. 2. When the phone opens, the dial tone automatically sounds (not good for seniors that may just want to check the phone for missed calls). This feature is annoying. 3. Because of the on/off button, it is easy to shut the phone off inadvertently. 4. Phone cannot be set to vibrate and ring at the same time. 5. Previous owner of the newly assigned number had collection issues and calls came from various number every day from collection agency type companies.
6. Many, many times the voicemail did not work. I called support on 5/28/17 and they credit $21 because of the issue. I called again on 6/22/17 because the voicemail was still not working and the customer service agent said, "You already called about that and we credited you." So 2 months of inconsistent voicemail availability where I cannot leave a message for my 81-year-old father - unacceptable! I switch my day to a new phone service today. The phone is not even 3 months old and I cannot return it. What a huge waste of money and time!! Buyer beware for senior parents.

This is the worst phone and service I have ever had. I find something new to hate about it every day. It does not ring often when I receive a call even though volume is set to max and ringer is on, but it shows I missed a call. New contacts added are not alphabetized. The special operator must do this and I have to pay 95 cents. Half of the time I open the phone, it is blank. It takes 2 or 3 times closing and opening again to get a dial tone. Then when I say yes to accept the function shown, it does nothing.
I cannot put in a few letters to pull up a contact. I must go through the entire list until I find the one I need but I cannot go backward if I need to see the latter part of the list or forward to see the first part. Very often when I press the arrows, it doesn't move to the next contact or the next function such as call history. It forever drops calls. It took 3 days just to port my phone number to Great Call. I am so angry that I spent $95 on this instrument, that I left Great Call today and bought a new LG flip phone. The Jitterbug will go in the trash!!

I purchased a GreatCall Flip Phone for my 93 year old father. My brother and my sister and I noticed that sometimes when we would call him that we were unable to hear him. We went through the usual steps of asking him to hold the mouthpiece closer and he said he was. We thought he may be pressing the buttons on the side so we cautioned him about that too. This was an intermittent problem and I called Great call about it Saturday on his phone. I also told her about the time he fell and the red, 5 Star button did not work and he had no help from GreatCall.
I called the 5 Star and when they answered I told them it was NOT an emergency, explained the problem and she said I didn't have a problem but reluctantly transferred me to I think tech support where I listened to a recording for about 30 minutes. I decided to hang up so I closed the flip phone but I could still hear the recording so I opened the phone and tried to turn it off. Since I could not turn it off, I waited for tech support to come on the line for another maybe 1 hour before giving up. I could NOT turn it off no matter what I did and I thought it had a built-in battery (I was wrong) so I tried calling another number and that released that circuit to tech support but I still could not turn the phone off. It stayed in its charging cradle until today (TUE).
I emailed GreatCall about our problem Sunday after I got home from Dad's (about 6 hrs drive) because that was said in the recording I had to listen to. It's Tuesday and still no answer to my email so I called the support number and did get to talk to a very nice lady but even after telling her our problems, she would not replace the phone. She said she had to go through a few steps with Dad before she would. After being on hold so long with them and knowing Dad, I tried to get her to understand but she would not. But she was polite. So now I am very unhappy with GreatCall and this is what I am planning to do. I will get him a cheap flip phone and transfer his number to it and I will get some sort of a senior fall down notifier, but it will NOT BE FROM GREATCALL. They should be ashamed of such poor service to elderly. Please consider another provider.

Gary, we are sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your feedback. To determine if a phone is defective, we do need to perform basic trouble shooting as stated by the agent you spoke with. We show that trouble shooting was performed and we responded to your email with an offer of a warranty replacement, which you accepted. We further show that the phone has been activated and used. I was pretty hard on the Jitterbug flip phone, and after using it for a week my attitude toward it changed quite a bit. First thing I was absolutely amazed at the battery life. I have never had a phone that was over 50% capacity after two days and nights of use. Second, the reception and sound quality of the phone was excellent. At the end my only real issue is the way you have to update your contact list. Texting was difficult because there was not a keyboard, but that was expected. For what it is designed for to be used by people who have difficulty with small keys, size of text displayed, 5Star emergency service, and simplicity of use I rate it at 4 stars. I was approaching it looking for a much higher level operating system. I had changed my second line to a Verizon flip phone that had a much more sophisticated operating system. The Verizon flip phone had a lot of the features I was looking for, but still we ended up changing it out for a smart phone specifically for the ease in texting.
I find that I am really impressed with the Jitterbug Smart phone. They truly have made it easy to navigate all the Android apps with a great home page. In the remote area we are moving to the smart phone has full scale reception where my previous phone barely had 1 bar. The standard font size is very readable without my glasses. The phone readily synced my Google mail contact list and made it very easy to access and change. I have had 3 different android based smart phones, and the Jitterbug Smart is by far the easiest to use.
A comment about the Great Call customer service: Through all my frustrated phone calls they always remained calm and measured. They all spoke great English and I never had problems understanding them. They came up with a fare program to transition to the Jitterbug Smart. They have called to make sure all was working as I expected. One of the greatest surprises is the cost of the protective case and tempered glass screen cover cost half of what the Cell service company charge for the same items. I still cannot believe the low cost of the Jitterbug phones. Never have I had such a turnaround in my opinion of a company like I have had with Great Call.

The software does not allow you to transfer contacts from a PC to the phone. All contacts have to be entered by hand on the phone. I purchased the Jitterbug Flip and a basic Verizon flip phone because AT&T does not have coverage at our new home. The Verizon flip accepted the 200+ contacts and Hundreds of photos in a matter of minutes with a simple transfer through a PC. It could have been done via Bluetooth too. The Jitterbug has no ability to move contacts or photos from a PC to the phone. I am told that I have to enter 200+ contacts by hand on the phone.
The GreatCall website will not allow me to see any support for the Flip phone because it will not allow me to have the Lively device that I love and the flip phone on the same account!! The solution for the transfer to the flip phone is to call the GreatCall operator and have her enter the contacts as I read them off to her. I know the operator would love to have me read her (tech said the operator was a her) the 200+ contacts, and have them read back to me to verify they were entered properly.
I have software that will allow me to transfer the contacts from my Samsung smartphone to my PC in many formats. Why doesn't GreatCall management understand that even though "most of their customers do not have computers" the people who set up the phones for their customers do have computers and know how to use them. This inability to provide the transfer of contacts, photos and text messages from one phone to the Jitterbug Flip basically make the phone a very poor choice. The Verizon sales staff tried to find out if their equipment could make the transfer, but alas it did not work. BEWARE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE A JITTERBUG FLIP IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 5 OR 10 CONTACTS!!

I like Jitterbug Flip because it has bigger numbers. However, I have arthritis in my fingers so I have a hard time pushing it and getting the numbers to show up. I can’t get my hands working well enough to use it and it’s not been very helpful. But I keep on working around that. It's a nice phone and everybody likes it. I take it with me in my bedroom every night and to the bathroom in case I fall. It’s a good phone and it fits in my pocket. My son calls me once in awhile and he comes up and makes sure that it’s working.

The Jitterbug is my first experience with a cellphone and I find the signal strength isn't always good and I'm having a hard time hearing people. I bought the Jitterbug Flip for very limited use like for an emergency. However, I'm finding that everybody around me has a smartphone and there's so much more you can do with those. It's okay but I probably will upgrade to an iPhone sometime in the future. I'm around everybody who does all these things with their phones and I'm kind of handicapped because mine won't. I can see that these phones are really good for people that are more housebound that don't care to be so mobile and interact with friends.
There's a phone for every type of person out there but I'm glad I tried it because now I know the benefits of a cellphone. I don't have to wait to get home to make a call whereas before, I used to. It's been a very inexpensive way to learn what I need and don't and what I could use. I would recommend it to somebody older and who's more confined. I'm glad I bought it and I'm not sorry, but I could tell it's time for an upgrade.

I wanted a Jitterbug phone and bought one so that when I went out in the car I could take it with me. I’m about 15 miles from any town and I thought if I ever broke down, I don’t have any way to get out. I'm alone in this house and I'm 93 so I wanted it for the convenience. However, I don’t use it that much. I don’t have that many friends and I only have my daughter and her kids. Once in a while my daughter’s here and she might use it. If I need it, it's there.

A friend of mine in South Carolina came to visit me and she had a Jitterbug. I'm elderly, at our age we don't need all those games and the camera. We want a simple phone for emergencies and personal use. It does everything I wanted it to do. I can hear loud and clear and I have no problems with it at all. I had a Nokia before which couldn’t make a lot of calls when I go to Florida and I couldn’t call my family. Now, I like my Jitterbug and when I make a call, I can hear the person like they’re right next to me. Plus, I feel very safe with it because I know if I'm going to use it, it's going to work.,

I liked the advertisements of Jitterbug Flip in the Farm & Ranch Living country magazine. I liked a no contract type of phone and Jitterbug Flip was that. They also had a pretty good rating and I liked the price of it, too. However, the screen on the front went goofy not too long after I got it. We waited until it was out of warranty before we said anything about it, but they wouldn’t replace it. The phone itself works but it doesn’t give me the time and stuff on the front. I would like a replacement but I'm not gonna pay for a new phone to do it. Nevertheless, I've already recommended it. My wife had bought one for herself. I had a different phone which worked real good everywhere except in my home county and this Jitterbug works really well here and everywhere else, too. I have found very few dead spots as of yet.

I saw Jitterbug's ad in the National Enquirer and it looked like a good deal and I liked the price so I went ahead and bought it. I had to call them because when I charged the battery for the first time, it didn’t give me a signal that it appears charged and it had been plugged for 17 hours. The girl that I talked to said to take off the charger. I did that and it charged up 100%, but it didn’t give me the little sound saying the charge is completed. But after that, it's charged up okay. Then one time, I flipped the phone open and nothing happened. It’s just a complete blank. So I called up Jitterbug again and the girl said it failed to update. And since then, it's done just fine. I like having Jitterbug and hope it continues to do a good job.

My mother was in hospice care and had a cellphone but having a hard time with the little buttons so I got her the Jitterbug to try to help with the bigger buttons. My mother passed away so my father is using the Jitterbug now. He struggles with it just like with any kind of technology and he still uses his landline at home so it’s hard for him to break the habit. Nonetheless, he can now go out of town and has a phone, but only when he remembers to take it with him. He's late 70s so I don’t like him out traveling around without it. I’d definitely recommend Jitterbug for people who have a hard time with the smaller phones or even the ones who have the type-touch screen. It's easier for older people who aren’t used to the new technology like the iPhones and it still gives them the camera. My dad loves that it has a camera.

I met a lady who had Jitterbug. She told me about the phone and my son-in-law took care of getting one for me. I keep the phone beside me since it's not convenient to get up and go to my regular phone. On the other hand, I've had a lot of trouble with the phone lately. Sometimes people tell me that they call me but I don't get the call and it doesn't register. Sometimes, I will try to pick the phone up and I can't get the writing on the opposite side to see what part of it I'd like to go to. Also, sometimes it will be 20 minutes off one time and then a few minutes later, it'll go to the right time and it does that quite often. It was a great help when it worked but since it's not working, it hadn't been much use to me lately. I'm not really happy with it.

I got a Jitterbug phone for the large print and numbers. But my husband uses it more and he’s very happy with it most of the time. It's a little bit easier access for him. He has a little trouble with the phone but he likes it. He uses it a lot and he’s finally figured out how to use different parts. A couple of times, the phone seems to go dead and he doesn’t understand it. So, I called Jitterbug and a couple of time they've told me to take the battery out, put it back in again, and it seems to take care of things. Sometimes he wonders why it is shutting off, but I don’t know whether that’s something to do with the battery or it's off because it goes off automatically which it should do. But overall I'm happy with it. I'm glad that I got it for him and he said he is enjoying it. He gets more comfortable with the phone as he uses it more often.

I obtained this cellphone and the service for my senior mother because it is easy to read, simple to use and offers emergency/security assistance by pressing just a button. It is perfect for seniors. Great Call assigned her the cell phone number as we didn't have one to transfer. To our surprise, we found out that another name displays on the caller ID of the recipients when she makes a call. Example: if my mother's name is Mary ** the caller ID displays Rosa **. This is a big issue for us. This is a senior person. Sometimes memory plays tricks. Also, displaying a different name might stop somebody from answering a call that might be urgent as most people are selective at one time or another answering their calls. What about a call to 911 and other alike?
Contacted Great Call last week and was advised they could correct the issue and would take about 3 business days. A week later it was still ongoing. I contacted them again today and this time they are requiring that I provide all the telephone numbers my mother has contacted AND the name of telephone companies that provides the services to those numbers. Amazed I asked if they couldn't get the numbers from their records and find out the carriers by themselves. But was told they cannot. I insisted but the representative insisted that I have to provide them all the information they were asking if I wanted it fixed.
I asked for a supervisor but the representative didn't want to pass the call and insisted that the cell phone numbers are all recycled and they need to get this information to contact the telephone companies to inform of the new name. This is normal to occur and they only fix the ones reported by the customers that provide the information. Didn't seem to seem concern with the issue, or flexible to go the extra step (which I believe should be standard not extra). She did offer to give us a new number (...really? To get another name instead of Rosa **?). As good customer service, Great Call should have procedures to contact the telephone carriers when the new service is established, before the user start making calls. Not wait for a user to present the complaint. It is hard for me to understand why they would not take this issue when they are providing the cellphones and service.
This makes me distrust how they take care of other issues, including the ones the customers are not aware of. And, what about in a case of a real emergency? How is their concern for the service? Do they really care to ensure the senior is taken care of in the best way possible for my mother? Will they take the proper steps to assess the situation/reason of the call? If the call is because she is scared and lost, will they calm her and give her the correct advice? The ethics displayed on this issue are a concern to us. I understand mistakes happen all the time, but it is important the steps taken to resolve and prevent them. Trust on the company that provides a security service for the elderly is extremely important.

Mari, we are sorry to hear about your caller id issues and we appreciate your feedback. Phone numbers are recycled; caller id issues are rare and generally only occur when calling a landline. For GreatCall to correct a caller id issue, we must obtain specific information to be reported to each landline carrier and without this information, the caller id cannot be corrected. Since not all numbers have a name attached to them, a change of phone number may resolve the issue. If your mother’s name and number are listed in a person’s cellular phone, her name will appear on the screen when called. For emergencies, when using the 5Star service, not only will the Urgent Response team have your mother’s name, they will also have her personal profile and her location, which are associated with her phone number. Please contact us at 1 800-733-6632, between the hours of 6am and 7pm Pacific Time, Monday – Saturday for the information needed or to change the number.

My husband takes it if he goes some place without me. Then if he needs to get a hold me, all he has to do is push the button and either call home or my cell phone. I have used his Jitterbug one time and as I was talking long distance I got cut up for some reason. They sent us return labels to return BOTH phones in the same box. I tracked the package return and called them 2 weeks later. I was informed it could take up to 30 days for the credit?? WHY?? I asked company policy. I said, "Oh you're floating the money because you can't afford to pay the refunds?" No comment.
After 30 Business days we finally received refund for just 1 phone. I called in, "Oh we're working on the credit for the other phone!" WHAT the HEXX. I sent back BOTH phones in the same box same day and you received BOTH phones on the same day. I was told it could take ANOTHER 30 days!!! Come on. They sure want their money upfront but are very slow to refund. They are also trying to charge me $10 restock for each phone. It's NOT our fault your phones don't work in our area. I helped my 75 year old father get this phone, his first cell phone ever!!!! The first phone would freeze up and just stopped working. He never made more than 15 calls over a 5 month period. I called Great Call 2 or 3 times about it, and they finally replaced it! He put it back in the box (the old phone) and didn't tell me it wasn't working. I called again, told them it's completely dead!! They said they would send out a new one at no charge! 2 weeks went by and still no phone, I called again. They gave me the tracking #. It was just sitting in California. It took 3 & 1/2 weeks to come in. I set it up for him, he brought it back 2 weeks later and said it's not ringing. I tried to call it from my house phone, holding it in my hand it lit up but would not make a sound.
I checked the ringer, and checked to see if there was a mute setting, nothing. He put it back in the box and called last week about it. He was told the phone will not work in his area. He had them to turn it off. But they want him to pay a $40.00 bill for the month the phone was in the mail, and this month. I called them about the bill and told them phone will not work. She gave him a $20.00 credit and wants him to pay the rest! I told him not to pay for something that won't even work!!! I asked if he could get some of his money back on the phone since it's been nothing but trouble since he has had it! Sept will be a year!!! They said no, they can replace it, but not any money back.
I asked, "What good is that going to do when y'all are the ones that said the phone won't work in this area!!!" She had no response!!! I will never do business with company again, and advise other people to stay away from them! We live about 10 miles outside the city limits. A country area! My cell works here, why would his not work here? It's a piece of junk!!! I checked the phone every time my dad complained about it, thinking he didn't know how to work it. It was not him, it's the phone. He took very good care of it. Not a scratch on it. Still looks new!!!

I had a cell phone once in the past. It was one of those buy and throw away kind and it bugged the hell out of me. I threw it away up in the first month because I've kept getting the wrong calls from people that had the number before or I would get charged for calls that weren't even for me. They also kept trying to sell me ahead of time to renew the minutes. I didn't like that at all. Then, I have to buy a new phone and start all over again because everybody's been bugging me. I have a 101-year-old father and they always wanted to be able to keep in touch with me so, they can find me when things go wrong. I then decided to get in touch with Jitterbug, and the guy I talked to that sold the Flip to me was clever and personable.
I told them the basic reason I need it for and that I probably wouldn't use it on a regular basis, although I haven't. I don't always have it with me, but I think of using it and a couple of times I have used it because I know it was there. And I can use my phone answering service on my other phone and everything is different. I get confused and I remember the old one so, thank god for our younger brothers.
I only gave the number out to two people. I have a very limited use of it but it gives me a little more confidence if the car breaks down or I've got to get somebody in a hurry. But I'm not crazy and happy about the way the charger fits the phone. It's got to be in just right or it doesn't charge well. But that's the only thing I don't like about it. I like the size of the phone and all the things it can do like when you take a picture. It's clever and easy and I like it. I don't like a lot of bells and whistles so, it seems just enough for me.
My phone situation at home isn't great because I have one phone line that goes from the utility room to my living room and all the rest of the plugs into place what work for our landline. I'm living on borrowed time, so I don't want to be connected and I would like to get off the grid entirely. But my experience with Jitterbug has been very positive. They're very gentle with the seniors which I think was very good. In fact, I have recommended it.

I got my little Jitterbug cellphone as a back-up or for emergency purposes, such as to have a way to call for repairs, in case the house phone goes out. The one thing that I was attracted to, being a little older, was the fact that it's got the 5 star medical button, and I cannot only use it for myself, but if I come upon an accident, I could call to get help for someone else.
Furthermore, I liked my Jitterbug phone because of the rates. They brought the cost down. I also liked the fact that the minutes that I didn't use would carry over to where I could save them. Before using Jitterbug, I used the phone company that I had for my landline phone, and their rates were too high. In addition, I like the fact that the Jitterbug phone has got that little cradle that helps me to charge the phone because it's a simple feature, and it's something that I really wish for in the way that my cellphone could be like a cordless phone and just charge up. Moreover, I have rheumatoid arthritis, and when I told that to the representative, instead of me having to go to the store like it shows from the magazine to make the purchase, Jitterbug shipped my order right to my house. That was a plus for me and I really appreciated it.

I saw an ad for Jitterbug. It was associated with the AARP as one of their recommendations. I had bought another phone and I absolutely couldn't use it. It was very cheap. It was at Walmart and it was supposed to be very good but I couldn't hit the buttons. I couldn't read the directions even with a magnifying glass. So, I saw the size of the buttons on the Jitterbug, I was so delighted. And when I talked to their people, I found out that I like the idea of having the red button in case of an emergency. I'm 76 now and you never know when something's going to happen. I don't expect it too but it's very good to have it with me at all times. The first interaction I had was with their sales staff. He just took plenty of time and explained everything to me. That in itself convinced me that they were the people I wanted to be with. When I opened its box, the first thing I looked at was the directions and thought, "Wow, I can even read this without my reading glasses. This is amazing." I have been very pleased with it.
When I had trouble with the phone, their representative was so kind. I couldn't understand why I wasn't getting something. I did everything and the only thing is when I turn it on, it doesn't come up with the right gate. And it comes up with these things that were on there. Then, another thing goes through and I can't figure out what's going on. I know the phone is working because I tested it, but I'm confused. So, she laughed and she said, "We have that plastic out so tight that half of the people don't see it. You're not the only one this has happened to." I really didn't realize it was there and that was locking it. They didn't make me feel like a complete idiot. Also, she had put a couple of numbers in for me and she said, "When you're ready to download some more numbers, you just give me a call and I'll punch them in for you." And I said, "You know, I'll probably do that. But I'm not to that point yet."
Their service has been excellent and it's well worth the monthly payments. I carry it with me when I'm out in the car and I also use it when I travel, which was its first test. My mother had been desperately ill and moving with me for over 14 months. Finally had to put her in a nursing home. I had been very worn down by the experience. I'm getting better slowly now, but I had to go up to Massachusetts and I was frightened by just going to the airport. So, having that phone with me and also knowing that I could get in touch with people immediately if I needed to, aid me a great deal more confidence. Also, I had great reception everywhere up there as well. I'm home most of the day but if I go to the beach for an afternoon and if somebody up in Massachusetts has a problem, I'm not going to be able to do anything for it now or any way. So, by the time I get home I'll respond but it's also giving me a lot more independence.
I recommended it to three people and one of them I know is getting one. I said, "You know, you have the same trouble I do. You don't want all the stuff on other phones. You want a phone you can use." She's diabetic and I said, "You should really get it, 'cause it has a red button right on it. You can get help at any time." And she said, "Wow that sounds great." And I said, "I actually bring it with me in the car all the time. I have it with me in case something happens on route if I'm on my way to Orlando."
It took me seven months to find the phone I liked. It's what I was looking for. I was worried about buttons that I could push without overlapping and messing up my calls. So, when I found out all the other things involved, I said, "Okay, I'm signing up now. When will I get my new phone?" They've really been very nice, everybody I have talked through. I did the test call on the red button to be sure it worked and I told them I was fine and it was just a test. Also, I haven't had one person who rush me, was rude or made me feel like an idiot. So, I was very pleased overall.

My daughter bought Jitterbug for her father then she decided I should get one too. My old phone had very small numbers and every time I go to hit my daughter, I keep calling the doctor's office even though I didn't. It didn't work out so they got me something that has bigger numbers on it and easy to handle. I always loved the flip phone. It's almost like a little cigarette case I had for years. It fits perfectly in my packable. I've been really lucky and happy with Jitterbug. It's handy and comfy. I would really recommend it to anyone.

I had Jitterbug years ago. I had an AT&T plan and I needed something that was much more reasonable than what I had so I got Jitterbug this time. They are a little better than the previous provider.

Got on the internet and looked up Jitterbug Flip to see what kind of quality it was because my brother is hard of hearing. I bought it for him for Christmas so he can call me and check in with me everyday. He’s disabled so I got him something to keep in touch with me and it made us feel a lot better. But I didn’t know that it was on Cingular. He lives in town so it works well at his house. The problem is I live out in the country and on AT&T so I can’t use it at my house because it won’t pick up a signal. They should have told me when I bought it what kind of service it’s got to be on. But other than that, the phone’s okay. Everything’s good.

I was looking at other programs and I knew someone who had a Jitterbug and I was told to call them, which I did and I enjoyed it. I was with T-Mobile and now I have Jitterbug which is cheaper and has a camera. The other one was a third higher and it had no camera, which is all I needed to get in touch with people since I don’t need a fancy iPhone. But I have not spoken with anyone about it even though I keep getting the operator when I make calls. Still, I’m satisfied with my phone and it’s all I need. I have recommended Jitterbug.

I heard that Jitterbug was a phone that was easy for seniors to use, so I switched to it. I bought my first one 12 to 15 years ago, and when I first got it, I had some questions. So, I talked to tech support and they were understanding, helpful, and responsive. I'm not mechanical, and was not as up to date on the modern stuff as others are. Therefore, I had problems in the beginning learning how to use the phone, but they were pleasant and I wasn't upset that I was having a problem. They have been helpful during the times that I have called them wanting information.
And then, I decided that it was time to update my Jitterbug so I bought a new one for myself for Christmas last year. The new one has a large and easy to read screen for those of us who are visually impaired, and have a very clear speaker for those of us who have trouble hearing. The option of taking photos is also very nice. The phone gave me an opportunity to use something I never thought I would use on it.
There's also a 5 Star first aid thing which I don't use because I already have a system in my apartment. My apartment has pull cords for 911. But if I didn't have the apartment and the phone connects to 911, I would use it. Having a 5 Star red button on the bottom of the Jitterbug is much better than having a pull cord in the bathroom.

Every time I called customer service, I got a well-trained American voice who understood what I was talking about and had all the answers, which was amazing. That’s the first time I’ve had that happen. A lot of them are overseas in China or India like Apple. When I asked to get something done or had a problem, they had to say, “Wait a minute while I go and talk to my supervisor”. And then it would take awhile for them to get back.
I’m a member of AARP and I looked at another carrier. It was cheaper for me but they should take the time to figure out the mechanism correctly and not try to do cute things. They didn’t have the customer service and simplicity of action that the Jitterbug did. It would be nice to get right to the point and get things operating in the simplest way. Since I’ve had my phone, Jitterbug has also changed things to make them easier, like the 5 star, I was always hitting that instead of the yes button and it was fixed and put at the bottom. When my landline went out and I had to use the cellphone for everything, I was glad I had the number of minutes I have and it does make that much difference in the price. Before I used it, I did not realize that they give you time left over up to 100% of what you ordered. For example, if you have 300 minutes, they’d give you 600.
I often recommend Jitterbug and let people look at it. As soon as they see how it functions, they take an interest. My son who is a technology expert and works with computers also helped me look them up, he said Jitterbug is the best in the ratings. It’s easy to get a hold of them and they stay open quite late and I'm fine with that but it's very important to know how late I can call and the customer service hours so I can tell other people.
