I'm 81 and had quite a bit of surgery. My kids were driving me nuts and were bugging me to get a cellphone so I could hear family and friends' voices since they're far away. Even my part-time caregiver said, “Come on. Let’s get that thing ordered. All you can do is try it.” In the beginning, I had everything going on and didn’t know where I was. But now, I’m doing pretty well with my Jitterbug and I know what the arrows mean. The phone's nice because it's small. I don’t have to go cross the hall to get the phone. I could take it anywhere and leave the house with it. I could have choices with it too. My granddaughter gave me recent pictures of the grandchildren that I could look at. I even have the red star button at the end of my phone. It’s after all the numbers and has a five on it. If I press on it, I could get to the police department. I’ve been paying $14 for these other alert things and they'd blast out for me when I haven’t even calling anybody for help.

My Jitterbug phone has opened up a lot for me and changed me up for the better so I'm grateful. My old phone still ring sometimes but I don’t answer with it very often. I make people use the cellphone. I’m not seeing well but all the little numbers were fine for me. Now, my grandson wants me to tweet. I would write something when I learn how to do all that but I’m just mastering one thing at a time. I’m happy and loving my Jitterbug phone. For the elderly, it's great, reasonable and comforting to have.

I had the beginning of the Parkinson’s and it makes me have tremors and I thought Jitterbug would be the perfect phone for me because it says Jitterbug which is really funny. It dropped out of my case a couple of times and lately for some reason my phone hadn't been working. I could answer it and nobody can hear me. I may have to wait until someone comes to help me out with it. I can't hear well on to follow the instructions. But this is the best phone I've had and I've had quite a bit. My favorite thing is that red star button. I never had to use it but it sure makes me feel better. I have recommended this phone to a lot of people.

My old flip phone from Greatcall worked fine. When I held the ON button down, I had dial tone in about 4 seconds. Then they offered an update to an "improved" version. This one takes between 58 to 60 seconds (I timed it several times) to get a dial tone after the screen first lights up. Since this is supposed to be an emergency phone, and 60 seconds could be a lifetime in an emergency, this is unacceptable. Customer service says "it is supposed to be that way," and then "we no longer support your old phone" when I said I wanted to go back to it. Really? Would the phone have suddenly stopped working because I hadn't bought the update?

Dan, we are sorry that you are not completely satisfied with your Jitterbug Flip and we appreciate your feedback. The Flip phone is powered by 4G LTE and although it may take longer to turn on, the connection is stronger. We do recommend that you leave your phone powered on for faster access in case of an emergency.

I'm a retired scientist and engineer and I've pushed a lot of buttons in my life, but I finally want something simple. All I want in my retirement is to keep my mind active, but I want to make phone calls the simple way. I just want a phone that I can use to make a phone call, especially in an emergency, and I don’t want to have all kinds of data and weather and social media options on it. My wife has had some illness and I need to always keep track of her and take care of her.

The Jitterbug Flip is the phone for me. I like the big numbers on it because I have crappy eyes and I can't see things clearly all the time. When I go out to the grocery store, I make sure that I carry it with me. I usually have a shopping list but I manage to forget about this half the time, and I stay in touch with my wife with my phone if I don’t know what to get. When I went out driving, I used to stop at a great many accidents and I helped other people out with my phone. I want the red button on there, in case I have to report a terrible accident or in case my wife should have a heart attack, so that emergency button is important to me.

One time, when I was still getting used to my Jitterbug Flip phone, I locked it up and it wouldn't dial correctly. I called the Jitterbug reps on another phone and they instructed me on how to reboot my phone. Learning how to reboot my phone took a minute and I've never had another problem with it since then. I live in New Mexico and with the climate here, the air is really dry and we get static discharges on equipment all the time, and it's very possible to zap my phone, at least temporarily.

I've tried to sell the Jitterbug Flip phone to other people. It is a good phone for people who don’t want to spend six months learning how to use their phone. I went to lunch with a couple of other guys that had phones that were way too cumbersome and they were always cussing their phones out, and they were envious when I made phone calls with no fuss. Also, I could look through my messages easily and camera usage was good on it. I had another flip phone before, but it didn’t have any of the capabilities of my Jitterbug Flip phone. The Jitterbug Flip is a simple phone, but if I need to an extra feature, it's easy to access and figure out. I've had my Jitterbug Flip phone for a year and a half now and I love it. I'm a big fan of this phone and I wouldn't have anything else.

I have Jitterbug as my second phone and I have a trouble with it. I send my bill but I don't know if I'm on time or not with it. I'm 89 years old and I can't figure out what number I needed to call. And so if I had a better communication with that it definitely would help me sending me my check.I just have two numbers on my phonebook - that of my daughter and son. And that's all I have. I don't want to get any more things out there on any of it but I just don't understand the functioning of this phone. That's the problem. I read the instructions and it just didn't equate with what this phone is.

Maybe the customer service reps will help me because it's a simple looking thing in comparison to all the other things that are out there. And that’s just yes and no. Apparently I press yes and then that doesn't help me. I'm not satisfied with the experience. I just can't seem to get any help with it. But probably if I were to use it more often maybe that would help. Maybe I could get my daughter to call me more on the Jitterbug number.

Customer Service was helpful but every time we turned around there was another problem. I finally bought a Samsung smartphone and he is very happy with it and is not frustrated at all. We got our 92 year old Mom the Flip phone because of the big numbers. The phone has nice features but we have had lots of issues. The 1st one they had to keep “updating” and we had to keep taking out the battery. It froze up, wouldn’t ring, bad sound, hard to hear, just about everything. I call. They are sending a new one BUT if they don’t find a problem with the old one (less than a week old) we will get charged for the new one! What??? Why would I send a phone back that worked? Got the new one and it looks like it will work. Mom call me and I can’t hear her. Really? Now we have another one being sent out. Customer service was pretty short with me today when I was just trying to ask questions to see if we were doing something wrong. Mom does like the phone or I would have been done with this.

My mom is living with us now and she needed to have a reliable phone that was easy to read and not complicated, and just something she felt comfortable with. Jitterbug came right into mind after watching their commercial. When we were having a little problem getting the phone set up, the team was patient and wonderful. They told us to remove the battery and to try it and it worked. And not so long ago, I had to call and request a reduction in the minutes that my mom had. We got 600 minutes and there was no way she could use that. In order to make it more cost-efficient the customer service, right on the spot, made the changes and they gave me the information I needed, money wise.

Jitterbug has made such a difference giving us all the peace of mind. And having the emergency button on the phone really makes a difference. My mom can hit that if necessary. We are able to go out and not have to worry about anything so they've made life a lot easier. There is a sense of being able to reach out and communicate with people, 100%. If anybody is looking for the type of phone that's easy to use and to look at then the Jitterbug would be the way to go. The payments are very reasonable too.

When I looked on the computer for a flip phone, there was a Black Friday sale where things were at half the price so I bought a Jitterbug. I followed the directions in the book and the one on my computer when I set it up. I can put all my contact people on my phone using the computer and it really works well. I take the phone with me when I’m traveling somewhere for instances like if I have a car trouble and need to call somebody or if I’m down on the road and I need to talk to somebody. I have a cordless phone at home and my kids call that but if they have to get a hold of me and I don’t answer, they call me on my cell phone.

Considering what the Jitterbug is and comparing it to the smartphones, it was nowhere close but I get what I’m paying for and it's all I need. And Jitterbug is by far superior to several other phones I’ve looked at. Some of my friends have flip phones, some are older ones. They are the little bitty things that you can hardly read and you can’t hear them. They’re nothing anywhere close to the Jitterbug that's easy to use and self-explanatory. With a little bit of experimenting, you can get it figured out.

However, with the Jitterbug, we have to usually make the call for her because she can’t figure it out. This morning, I was trying to select a person in her phone book and it was taking a delay. On my phone, I just click and it’s there. I have heard about this problem before and it’s inconvenient. It’s easier for me to use the Jitterbug than for her and sometimes I get frustrated, too. I think it depends on the service. She just needs a basic phone because all she does is call my aunt and my sister and a few other people. It would be so easy if she could just flip it open and have the names listed and she could click on the person she wants. The phone could also have a screen with just the people, like the favorites, because she’s only got five, and then she could just arrow up or down on the screen to the person she wants to talk to. Jitterbug has to make improvements.

I’m an older person and my daughter got me this Jitterbug last year at Christmas. She thought I could understand it more. My other daughter bought me a more fancier one the year before and I didn’t like it at all. So, I had her take it back. But I love this one when I walk to the mailbox. I have quite a way to walk back and forth, down my basement and up the stairs. I also have the Jitterbug by my bed every night and I feel secure because if I need anything, I got my little phone right there and the numbers of my kids so I could get them right away if I wanted to talk. I enjoy it though I don’t put the maximum minutes on there like other people. I talk to my daughters off and on with it, but I’m not on it steady. I have told so many of my older friends about it.

Our friend had one and she really liked it, so I called. I like the style of the Jitterbug phone - I like the big numbers. It is also easy to operate it. That's why I originally bought it for my husband because he has big fingers as those little cellphones just didn't fit him. He could press two numbers at one time. Its cost is also reasonable too. I have had it for four years already and I like having a cellphone away from home. Customer service is very positive and helpful. They always told me what I needed to know and told me what the prices were because I did upgrade once because the battery was wearing out, so I just upgraded to a newer phone.

It's just odd that Sears does not want to service my phone then when I asked if they could put a new battery in mine. But they told me to call Jitterbug instead. So, I ordered online and got mine in the mail. I also deal with my phone via calling, too. One time, though, I was inside the store and my husband was in the car and he said, "Your phone is ringing. They think you're in trouble." I said, "No, I'm not trouble." So I don't know what happened. Some wires got crossed somewhere. But other than that they are a pretty good company.and I'll stick with them. I have no reason not to. We live in a rural area so we don't have the best cell service out here, but a mile away, I can get good cell service.

I’m delighted with Jitterbug. I went with them after a realization that I need to have a phone with me that's relatively simple when I’m out and about. I already had two previous phones that were too complicated and I just left them on the kitchen shelf. I’ve also managed to learn to use the camera which I never used on the other one. I only use it for emergencies as my minutes are very minimal - I've got the most simple plan. I like the knowledge that it’s there if I need it. I go online a couple of times to question things but the manual was very simple and straightforward, so I keep referring to that.

I got a Jitterbug phone for several years, and there was a deal on getting a new phone. I got one and I'm perfectly happy with it. It's still the old flip top phone and I use it for only its most basic uses. It works, I can hear it ringing and I can hear people talking to me, which is a major thing in my life right now. Dialing is easy, too. I don't text though, because it's one thing that's not easy to do on this phone. You have to go through the alphabet in order to get to the letter that you want. It takes forever. But this particular model does what it's supposed to do, and does it efficiently. My concern is losing the phone or breaking it because I don't have a landline. I have the replacement option but that would take at least a week. So if I lose it, I'll be without a phone for a week. That bothers me a little bit because I'm very dependent on it. But the Jitterbug customer service team has always been excellent.

My neighbor showed me a clipping about Jitterbug so I ordered it. While it's cheap, like it's 21 bucks a month, I use it rarely. Seldom do I call my two sons, who live in Seattle and Berkeley who are part of the five people on my list. I do not have a use for it except for a very specific reason and that’s for transportation. I call a company called GoGoGrandparent, which it does the same job as Uber and Lift. As far as how it works, it seems to work fine.

Their representatives were very helpful. They programmed the number into my phone. There had been an error and they corrected it. I haven't asked them to add other names because I just do not use it except to call the travel facility. Other than that, I charge it every three days. I don't know how long I'm supposed to charge it or how often but it seems to work.

I like the phone though I haven't had my Jitterbug that long but it's good. I really didn’t want it to begin with but my son insisted that I have something in the car with me when I go out by myself. I am in a retirement village, so a lot of them have Jitterbug. I hear a lot of good and bad about everything. But I like Jitterbug and I saw they advertised in a couple of the magazines. I get the officer's magazine, my husband was a retired military. I liked the advertisement and it sounded refreshing.

The 5Star helps. When I have the phone in the car and in my handbag, I feel comfortable because of that. I've initially spoke with their reps because it wasn’t charging. She told me that I could keep it on the charger longer. I was only putting it on for a little while. Then I took it out one time and it was not charged. Now, I keep it on the charger. The rep was wonderful. She told me everything that I needed to know and she convinced me that this is what I needed. I have recommended Jitterbug to a number of people here and they’ve already gotten them.

The phone I had was small and it was black and I couldn't see properly. Also, I never knew if I was going to receive a call. I called about the Jitterbug and a lady explained everything to me but I told her that I just wanted a phone to talk and I didn't need a smartphone. I thought the Jitterbug would work well. I knew everything as in the book and went through it to do what I needed to do. The book was very good. I set it all up and put my people in there that I call the most. The phone works fine and I feel like when I'm going to get a call, I'm going to receive it.

I've had the phone for two months now and the only thing was when somebody called me, they couldn't leave a message when I was not there. But as I was going through it with a girl working with me in the background, she called and said that feature on my phone was turned off and she couldn't leave a message. I looked through the book and it said that I had to set that up which I hadn't done. There are also a few things I have to ask Jitterbug but I'll call them when I have time. I don't know how to delete a contact and the phone calls that I've made. In my old phone, I always kept that all clear. I haven't looked in the book to see how to do that so it's something I have failed to do.

Other than that, I would highly recommend Jitterbug. In fact, I recommended it to my sister. I also tell my friends who have never had one that my lady up the street bought the Jitterbug smartphone and she loves it. Everything's stored, so that makes it easy. He doesn't have to dial any numbers. All he's got to do is hold the one button to get the phone, and that's it. He goes up and down and makes the call.

The only thing is, when somebody is in this kind of situation, the fee that they have is expensive. He only uses very few minutes. I understand that Jitterbug has a baseline. But I wish they could make it a little cheaper for somebody who's using it for just emergency purposes or just somebody checking on him. With fewer minutes, it would help out tremendously in the pocket. Then if they go over the given minutes, charge them. Other than that, the phone has been great and James is very happy with it.

My brother got the Jitterbug Flip for me and I love it. I got my favorite color too which is red. We called the company to get it set up and put the minutes on it and I had a nice talk with their rep. It wasn't very hard to learn how to use it that my brother showed me how in just about five minutes. What I like best about it is dialing the number. The numbers are so large that you can't make a mistake. I also like the little lights underneath. I don't see on one eye and the other is bad but the numbers are bigger so I can make a call to the hospital if I need to. If I have any trouble, I just press the button and I got the ambulance or I got my brother so I'm happy there. I use it every single day including talking with my brother every morning. I carry it with me anywhere I go so that I can always call the ambulance or the police if something happens to me. I depend on it and I feel a lot safer with it. So far it hasn't died on me as long as I keep it charged.

This year it has worked every time when I was in the hospital for three days. I could talk to my brother in New York until he comes up and keeps me going with the problems I have all the time. My brother turned it real loud so I can hear well what I want to hear and when it goes off. I'll pick it right up and see who's coming today to visit so I didn't have to ask who was coming. Jitterbug has been very nice to me. They have been giving me free items like another carrying case and an adaptor so I can charge it in the car. It's the most wonderful phone and the only one I ever had in my life and if I get another one, it would be the same thing. I'm 100% satisfied and I'm having a great time with it ever since. The 5Star app in our Jitterbug was a big thing for me. It brings us emergency help. That’s why we wanted it because, in one button, it’s just like having a separate unit for calling for help. We did not have a cell phone for quite a while before Jitterbug. We could hardly get anything through here. We had a very bad phone but the Jitterbug comes in pretty good. Then we had an experience where our landline was out for almost two days. About a month before that, my husband had fallen and we had to get the paramedics to help him up. I had to go out and get my nearest neighbors. I said, “If anything happens again, I’ve got to have a means.” I bought my phone mainly for that and therefore I wanted the Jitterbug because of its simplicity.

I take my Jitterbug with me every time we leave the home. I like that it's convenient getting to what I wanted. Just open it up and it’s got arrows. It’s got up and down, it’s got yes or no and I’ve got a choice for a 24/7 operator. I’m using it primarily as an emergency phone. When I’m away from the house, the Jitterbug is very good if I needed it. There are also some other things that come up, like driving to the restaurant and you want to call ahead. With the Jitterbug, I know that I have a means of calling if I got stuck or lost.

Especially because it's big and red, plus, based on experience, if they put it down they could see it right away. With the other little phones that I used to have, when I try to push one number I always hit another one and get a different person since my fingers are too big. I'm a retired disabled veteran and both of my knees have been replaced. I got pretty bad operations and I fall a lot. If I fall and they're not here, the 5 number is very helpful and I can call for help. I've recommended it to friends.

I have my Jitterbug sitting in its cradle and plugged into the wall. My grandson told me that I should keep it sitting on this cradle and plugged into the wall all the time so the little white light is on. I had him put five different numbers in my Jitterbug for me, but it’s hard for me to understand how to work it. Sometimes I press the different buttons and I get who I want to talk to. I put the number of my church in there in case I feel like I'm going to drop dead, the priest could come. The instructions were a little confusing to me. What I need is something that'll just say, "Number 1: Press this to open. Number 2: Press this to get to the person that you want to talk to. And press this to hang up." I have a hard time following instructions now so they have to be very simple.

With Jitterbug, I don't have to worry so much about the minutes as I did. I had a little TracFone and I was constantly running low on minutes. I was paying out a little less than half of what I'm paying for GreatCall, and I was only getting 100 minutes a month instead of 600. Jitterbug has wonderful features. I like the big screen and the big keypad. I like the flip part of the phone, it's much easier not to accidentally touch it. I love the 5Star, too. That is really tremendous to me. When I got the charger, the base wasn't working. So, I called them and they sent me another one without any problem. They were very pleasant and were right on the ball because I got it within just a few days.

I can also get help if I have car trouble and I’m out of the area. However, my biggest complaint is that Verizon doesn’t pick up too good because I am in a low area and Verizon is the only one for our area.

I like my Jitterbug because it’s red, and its size is perfect. I’m happy with it, and I love the way I get to different things on it with the big prints and the big buttons. We got Jitterbug and it was easy signing up over the phone with them. We have the payment taken out of our checking account. We like the Jitterbug and we get along well with it. We chose it for when we go out because we are both older and we just take it with us. I have it sitting right here on the stand and it's so nice to have that little stand to put it in. I was watching the TV one night and saw Jitterbug. I wrote down the number on the screen and called them the next day. I thought the phone would be good, but my problem with the phone is that it doesn't ring most of the time. I have the ringer volume on maximum and the speakers are on. I keep shutting the phone off and turning it back on and then the next time somebody calls, it will ring for probably two different phone calls and then it won't ring again. It just lights up. This isn't getting banged around because it is just sitting right on the table in front of me. And if I'm not sitting here watching, I don't know if somebody is on the phone.

I have a handicapped son who lives in a rest home. He goes to a workshop and he calls me every night when he comes home and tells me what he did. That's why I wanted a cell phone because no matter where I'm at, if I remember to take it, then he could call me. But I can't afford two phones. I'm retired and on social security. I also got stuff on this phone that I don't use like texting and the game thing on it. Just the calling feature on an inexpensive plan is alright, but for the time being, I'll keep this phone although I may go back to my landline sooner or later. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Jitterbug until I find out why it doesn't ring. Also, the price is high and I'm going to see if they wouldn't lower that.

My husband and I have been GreatCall customers for many years and have been very satisfied with the products and prices - until recently. We ordered two new Jitterbug Flip phones to replace our older model phones. There were many issues with the new phones - no rings for incoming calls (just goes to voicemail) or only two or three rings for incoming calls, voicemail message notices but no new voicemails, very long waits for the phones to actually come on after opening, buttons that stick when pressed causing a long tone and delay before you can press the next number, pressing numbers and having intermittent tones from some numbers, screen locking up when scrolling through the menus, complaints from those I've called that they can't hear me (never had that problem with the older flip phone), problem with voicemail being delivered in a timely manner (they are supposedly working on this), and more.

Whoever decided to buy the new flip phones as the next generation replacement model should be fired. These phones were probably very cheap. They are NOT working properly out of the box. How many customers have had problems after switching to the new "better" phones? I'm guessing quite a few. We are looking for another provider.

Because of the information I was given, I got another carrier's phone instead.

When I called up to cancel Great Call, I was informed that I could have gotten a free smartphone by paying the replacement fee and have reasonable rate for a plan. At this point, I had already gone with the other carrier. The girl continued to try to win me back. I should have hung up because she had me so upset, but it is so hard to get through to them that I stayed on the phone.

In fact I had tried many times recently to get through to them. (They hang up during their recording if you try to get a person.) They used to be such a nice company - not that talking to their reps was ever pleasant but they used to answer their phones and give directions and other things. No more!!! HELP! I would have stayed with them if they had let me, but at this point get me away from them!

Since purchasing this flip phone for my mom (2017) it has never worked accurately. I have tried calling customer service to resolve. I don't live near my parents so the only way they can resolve any issue is if you are with the phone. I have Great Call Link app on my iPhone to be made aware of her whereabouts etc. The info is never accurate. I have verified several times with my mom. Even when I'm with her and her Jitterbug, it sends incorrect info to my phone of our location, times. etc. Today's episode was the most horrible.Yesterday her phone once again wasn't working. Numbers were not working it just seemed jammed period. I pressed the 5star button to see if that at least worked. After pressing several times, it responded with an automated voice then put me on hold. OMG Thank goodness there wasn't an actual emergency.

After waiting for a minute or two I hung up. Went home shortly after. 24 hours later I received a call from 5star that my mother had just called and they were not able to reach her after trying her phone, and house phone. I called her immediately on her house phone and reached her. She had not touched her phone all day. It was on its charger. That means that they responded 24 hours later to an emergency call. I was so upset. I called customer service with this alarming information. All they had to say is, "We cannot do anything for you unless you're next to the phone so we can do some troubleshooting."

Troubleshooting a phone 24 hours later would not save my mother if it had been an actual emergency. They had no other solution. What if I was out of state? My Mom can barely answer the phone nevermind troubleshooting with a cust. rep. This company should be investigated for sending fraudulent info to Great Calls app and not taking this incredible incident more seriously.

I like the big numbers and flip phones so I got Jitterbug. I had a flat phone for a while but I didn't like it because it would dial numbers and do different and I have a fat finger. I had to start all over again and it was frustrating. However, Jitterbug phone doesn’t hold a charge for very long and I’m not even using it. I just have it on and when I turn it off, it takes so long to come up. I might change it to one that's not GreatCalls because they charge me $34.65 a month, but I hardly ever use it. I only use it when I go out and it's not even my primary phone. Also, I don't have any way to get ahold of Jitterbug themselves and I've always gone through GreatCalls. The phone is all right to me, but my son keeps saying, "It's a stupid phone you've got." and he blames it always on my phone. It could be his phone too, but he's got a smartphone and it's more expensive than mine.

A friend of mine had spoken about Jitterbug and then I saw it in a VFW magazine. I had an iPhone but I didn't need it. I just needed the phone in case somebody wants to get in touch with me about something or for phone calls. I'm 86 years old. I only use a computer at night to get messages. However, I find Jitterbug Flip easy to use and I carry it along. We used to go away in the summer and that's when I use it but we haven't gone away lately so I don't use the minimum amount of minutes that I'm allowed. Payment is perfect. It's not a lot and it doesn't eat me up. I just mail the money in and that's all. They have good staff too. Everybody was very helpful with me to get over any problem I might encounter. They run me through whatever every once in a while when I talk to them like when it doesn't recharge properly. It has been very economical and it has everything that I need.

She got the Jitterbug for its cost, convenience, mobility, flexibility and security. The service is going very well at this point and Jitterbug has done everything that they said they would do. They send me a paper bill every month so I’m able to monitor that aspect because Cathy has the phone and she’s three hours away. Overall, it’s a positive experience and I would recommend Jitterbug.

I had a Jitterbug a long time ago when they started out. I had it for a while and gave it up. Then, I went back to it because it’s simple, has big letters and I can read it. It's easy for me to use because I’m 79 and all these fancy things with the internet are too much. I want to make a phone call and not play games or get on the internet. I’m very independent and not one of those people who have phones in their hands every time they’re sitting around doing nothing. I use the Jitterbug to call my kids and the latest one I got is the fold-up phone which is nice. It’s very good and I like it. I was also with a TracFone for a little while but I didn’t like the idea of having to go to the store to get the card every time I ran out of minutes. Jitterbug is handier since it’s billed once a month.

I was having problems with my other phone. Aside from my friend having a Jitterbug Flip, I’ve seen them advertised in magazines, so when my daughter said that she would get me this for Christmas, I jumped on it. I like it, I really do. Once in awhile, I call to reboot it and they explain to me what to do if I ever have problems. Having arthritis, I had a hard time with my old phone's buttons. I like Jitterbug's big buttons though. I also don’t have problems adding and taking out numbers from my phone book. I used to forget to charge my old phone so my battery was running down most of the time. With this, I have the port on my desk and I just set the phone in the port to charge every night.

Cause they have it on the bottom, I have to be careful with accidentally hitting the 5Star or Urgent Care buttons with my thumb when I open the phone. They were very nice and made sure everything was alright when that happened. The last time I closed the phone and they called my daughter. And they said that I had cancelled the 5Star and they were concerned about when it happened. And I said, "I'm so sorry I didn't even realize I had done that." I opened the phone to see if I have any calls and I went to close it and when I did, I must have accidentally hit the 5Star button. That was surprising. When I explained to her what I've done, the rep was very nice about it.

But I like the Jitterbug for when I leave the house because I'm a heart patient and it's a comfort to know that I got it in my purse in case anything happened. We have recently purchased a Jitterbug flip phone for my elderly father who lives in another state. I have had the occasion to consult customer service three times in the past two days for assistance and on two of the calls I have had to deal with agents who seemed to have issues actually explaining to me how to handle the issues I was encountering, to the point that, when I put a direct question to one woman, all she wanted to do was perform the function remotely rather than explain what needed to be done should my father run into the same problem. T

hree times I asked her DIRECTLY to explain to me what needed to be done and she just kept telling me that she had taken care of it on her end. She got huffy with me and didn't seem to understand that I WAS THE CUSTOMER and that she was supposed to be providing me with SERVICE, not copping attitude. The agents don't seem to listen when you tell them what your issue is and end up asking questions to which you have already provided the answer when they initially picked up the call.

Today the agent seemed to have some problem with her headset or phone as her voice kept cutting out. My call today was to address the fact that all of the entries I had made to this phone yesterday weren't appearing 20 hours later. The agent said that the phone needed to be "refreshed" and that is when the contretemps began. I asked her simply how that was done and she seemed unwilling to tell me how to do it. She did it for me but I wanted to know how my father could do it on his own if he needed to.

Three times I asked and three times got attitude. The same attitude surfaced when I asked why it took 2-4 hours for numbers to be refreshed. Bottom line, she didn't know the answer but was too embarrassed to say so. I should have known this call was not going to go well when she put me on hold for "a brief hold" early in the call - the "brief hold" turned out to be 5 minutes long. I do not hold out much hope for this relationship going forward.

I bought a Jitterbug Flip phone for my sister. I contacted GreatCall to set up the phone and subscribe to their service. What was advertised as a plan for $14.99 per month turned out to cost $35 a month with taxes and fees. My sister could not afford that along with her landline, so she gave up her landline. She had trouble with the phone almost immediately. We called GreatCall several times. They always had us try the same troubleshooting steps, and sometimes they seemed to work for a while and then she would start to have trouble with the charge not lasting, the buttons not working.

Having dropped calls on and on. Several times the company reps told us that there were updates that should have taken place automatically, but that since that hadn't happened they would complete the updates remotely. This sort of thing went on each time we called. We were being patient, since it was the only phone she had and we just wanted it to work. However, the problems continued. Quite often, the phone did not ring when I called to check on my elderly sister who has very poor balance and I was always afraid she might fall –– one of the reasons we wanted her to have the 5-star feature. When I couldn't reach her, I would have to travel to her house to check on her.

It was frustrating for both of us. Finally, even though the warranty had run out. I called to say that since the phone had not worked from the beginning, that I thought they should replace the phone free of charge. The representative acknowledged that he could see that we had called a number of times, but he launched into a series of things that might be wrong, other than the phone or the service. He said that it was probably how we plugged it in, that our electrical system might need updating, that she lives in a remote area, that she must have dropped the phone, that she must not be touching the keys in the center, that she must have spilled something on the keys, that she might have to stand closer to a window, or go outside to use the phone, that she had left it on the charger too long or not long enough, and on and on, getting ever more ridiculous, but none acknowledging that the phone or service might be at fault.

He claimed they test every phone and it could not possibly the problem. He even said that we had to realize that this is a 3-G phone and we are living in a 4-G world. And what we needed to do was to upgrade. I Finally hung up in disgust and went right out and bought a different phone and signed up for a different service where I can actually bring the phone in and have a knowledgeable person see for themselves what any problem might be. I would not recommend either the Jitterbug or GreatCall to anyone. They probably have many satisfied customers, but they do not treat those who are not happy with respect or make a reasonable effort to actually solve problems.

I was on the house line talking to the Jitterbug team for an hour initially trying port the number over and the phone wasn’t working. I guess the phone was messed up and so they were trying to do all this stuff to try to fix it. They were helpful. It was a hassle but it got straightened out eventually. Once we got a different phone it was fine. They had already set it up for us. My only complaint is that it’s a little bit confusing to try to put phone numbers and people's names in. One of the things I found is I have a problem with electronics. But Jitterbug is easier although I don't do very much with it. I make a call but I can't take a call. It does a little more than that but I don't know where my manual has gone. Also, I'm having a little problem right now. I don't know whether it's going to quit on me or not but it doesn't go on right away in some case. But, it's a neat little thing and the thing I like about it is it got the button on there in the event of you going down. It helps me. It's a good little unit and I'm satisfied.

I have been thinking about getting the Jitterbug and my children knew that, so they gave it to me as a Mother's Day gift. My daughter-in-law did all of the contacting and setting it up, and their team has been very helpful. With the Jitterbug, I like the ease with which I can pick what I want like the phonebook and the camera. I also like the emergency button and I carry this phone with me constantly in case of an emergency. All in all, it's been great. I've recommended it to several different people and some of them have gotten it.

I liked the Jitterbug advertisement that I saw on the newspaper and what they got for the money. Everything went fine when we purchased it and we're pleased with it.

I went over to the mall and Jitterbug had Sears as a rep then. But Sears gave them up at the kiosk and the kiosk didn’t have the style or color I wanted. So I went online and got the Jitterbug Flip phone from the place itself. It's a nice phone for a senior citizen like me. It use it pretty much daily and before I didn't call as much. It's a lot easier to call my son through the cell phone because we're all programmed in their phone. Jitterbug is a handy phone and doesn’t allow the GPS one but that’s okay because I know my way around at this age. It's easy to use and carry and doesn't add to my confusion with 600 apps. It's overall a good phone for the price. Also, their team was very good at resolving any questions I had and helping me out with the problems I created for myself or deleting and putting new names in.

When I purchased this phone for a dear friend who has Alzheimer's, the person who took the order promised good customer service and ability to work with me so that the billing and the phone would be administered accurately. I live a good distance so required that the billing be sent to me and the phone be sent to her, the billing be in her name but I manage the account. Total chaos and after 3 months I am sending the phone back.

She currently has a Verizon EV3 and that will just have to continue with that one. It is easier for her. Jitterbug cannot handle complex issues involving seniors with Alzheimer's and the support system that is required to assist the billing. GreatCall, if you are honest and let me make a decision based on how you are able to facilitate this account, I could have moved on faster, but instead here we are. After 60+ days I have to send the phone back. I have just tried to contact Jitterbug GreatCall to let them know and after 20 minutes explaining the simple issue, I am sending the phone back. Avoid if you can.

I like the way the Jitterbug was set up, it was easy to read and dial but I don’t like that the names don’t sort out alphabetically unlike the Samsung that I had before. We bought the Jitterbug at Best Buy and they set it up for us. I like that if you drop it, it won’t fall apart or break like other cell phones nowadays. We don’t use it for communicating very much but more for an emergency. Or when we’re traveling in the car, that’s when we like it. Otherwise, we use our home phone.

My husband needed a phone that had larger digital numbers for him to see. He had a regular cellphone but now prefers the Jitterbug because of the larger numbers. However, it doesn't ring loud enough and he's hard of hearing. Whenever his hearing aid isn't working, he can't hear the phone and nobody can get a hold of him. Other than that, it's a great phone especially for the elderly. Our experience with Jitterbug has been great and their team has been friendly and very helpful.

Jitterbug phone is nice and convenient for my mother to talk to any members of the family that she wants to. She can just dial it herself and she can hear very good with it. But we’re having a bit of a problem with the Jitterbug lady coming through and suddenly starts talking while my mother and I are conversing. And, when I tried to delete some voicemails, it keeps telling me that I still have voice mails and I go back and try to delete them again but there’s nothing on there. Nonetheless, their reps have been very friendly. Jitterbug is a nice phone with a bit of quirk that comes on there once in a while. Other than that, my mom and I like it.
