My experience with Cricket is amazing. One fee every month with no hidden fees. I first had a Cricket account in Texas and was amazed how easy it was to purchase a really good phone and phone service. Never had a drop call or a lousy reception. I’m very happy with Cricket. Seven plus years and I will never go back to another company.

I experienced dropped calls so many times I can’t count. It was very embarrassing because I would have to call them back and at times it would drop again. I guess you get what you pay for! I even got another phone just so I can use when I couldn’t use the Cricket.

We switched to Cricket from AT&T because the cost was outrageous. Cricket looks great on paper. Great price for what you get. NOT in the late afternoon, through 10 or 11 o’clock we don’t have access to the internet. We have a terrible time texting a picture during this time too. We have been looking for another phone company but haven’t had any luck finding good pricing.

$20.00 mo. Prepaid has unlimited data, text, and call; some restrictions on non U.S. and other calling. Has fantastic pricing for its service. Rural areas are a little bit troublesome, as with all. Overall, it's very a satisfying prepaid option for the price and service. I recommend trying them.

I don't know if I can put in a hundred words but I'll give it a shot or two. I tried years ago for one of Cricket's cell phones but just for a phone itself was wayyyy over my budget. I'm a senior and can't afford no $50-$80 and that don't include any plans at all but was wanting one for sure but no one there would work with me and no matter whom I talked they wouldn't budge no one bit. I had even thought about keeping my own number but still to no avail or good plans was still too high for this senior!!! Just was no good.

Very simple plans to choose from and also they have some really good deals when you switch your number over always have to check out the website to see what they have. But they also have payment plans for the major phones that everyone seems to want nowadays.

It's great! I would recommend Cricket if you don't use more than 5 Gb of data per month. The coverage in the SF Bay area is excellent and the plans are very affordable for low data users. This requires that you use your home WiFi whenever possible.

Cricket wireless was not a good service provider. I always lost service in my home so I had purchase a home (internet) based service. The service was also spotted in other areas (dense residential communities and rural areas). I always had to refresh my phone, power on and off, several times to get better cell coverage.

I purchased a Moto E5 Supra from Cricket Wireless a year ago. The phone has been working fine up until the beginning of this year. We noticed the signal level on the indicator was always less than one bar. Needless to say calls are dropping left and right. We have spent 3 hours in the Cricket store trying to get the issue resolved. They moved the Sim chip to a different phone. They put a new sim chip in our phone to no avail. The Cricket store rep had advised that we were still within a warranty. To have the phone replaced. They assisted us in setting up the return and a new phone arrived 48 hours later. Only to notice that the new phone had a broken case on one of the bottom corners which they tried to glue back in place but was already becoming separated.
With the physical defects in mind we decided to see if the phone's reception was better than the one we returned. It was not same issues. Single bar service no matter where you went. We had called up Cricket again and advised that the phone is damaged and someone tried to refurbish it which didn't work out well and the phone still had the same issue as the one before.
So back to Cricket's customer service. I initiated a chat with one of their reps who said his name was John V. and again after explaining to him that this was an ongoing problem he proceeded to put me through his scripted answers the second time. I was not having it. I told him that in the APN type which is a field down in the network settings something had changed. There were five APN types before this whole issue started. After Cricket did their upgrade on January 1st 2020 a file named hipri was now missing.
Shortly after upgrade is when the issue started. I explain the whole situation to John and he insisted that the hipri file has nothing to do with the issue I was having. So he insisted I send this third phone back and wait another two days for a phone that will work. I refuse to do that and insisted that they upgrade the phone because obviously the Moto E Supra on this network has a problem which they will not admit nor will they disparage the phone itself as I'm sure they will get into some trouble with Moto. So we went back and forth with him for an hour and a half. I advised that I will be posting on the internet as well as filing a complaint with the FCC.
If these phones are trash they should get them off the market and not be selling them. So their out the door answer was, "You can send it back and get another one and keep doing that until you get one that works or you can purchase a more expensive phone." I advised him that his answer was absolutely ridiculous. So at this time I am filing reports to make the public aware of the poor service Cricket Wireless and their phones is trying to push out. I will be switching to another carrier and no doubt I will be paying more money. But that customer service is absolutely horrible. All they do is read off a script and if that fixes your problem fine. If it doesn't they tell you to go buy a new phone. Do not get into a contract with Cricket Wireless they are absolutely horrible.

I used Cricket in the past and was a customer for long time. What I did notice about Cricket was that I paid for a plan with unlimited calling. When I talked on the phone for a long time with my sister, the call would automatically drop and you would have call back. This happened every time I made a call to a friend or family and stayed on the phone for an hour. We had a lot to talk about because I do not talk with my friends and family very often. The are not the only prepaid carrier that drops your call or slow your internet after a certain amount time. They advertised unlimited call or pay for unlimited internet and see what happens to your phone and internet through Cricket. The reason why l left was because of the numerous dropped calls and I had their internet and that was slower than snail at the end of the month. The price you paid was not worth it.

The best part about a Cricket is the price - 3 lines for $90 unlimited everything. You can get 4 lines for $100. It’s a lot better than Sprint. I paid $189 a month for 2 lines and didn’t get any better service. I will say although I paid Sprint for 2 months after I switched to Cricket but could never get my iPhone 7 to work with Cricket. So I had to buy a new phone. I found the prices of the phones less at Cricket than at Sprint too. So as far as I’m concerned, I’m much happier at Cricket than with Sprint. You can pay online, by phone or at one of their locations. Everything is easy. I like that they don’t try to make you sign a contract to lease a phone like they did at Sprint. No more phone contracts for me- I’m very happy with Cricket.

They have plans that fit the needs of individuals and families, cost efficient and affordable for any customer. Customer service could be a little better and for the most part they do offer assistance when in need of falling on hard times by offering split pay on your monthly bill. Service of great in most areas, even rural parts, and on water.

Well for starters they lie about you switching and getting a free phone then the customer service sucks along with the service. They do have 1 thing going for them and that's the 4 lines for 100 but if you try to switch from them off your account to someone else's they charge 65 per line to switch then your mins and etc and not only that but if your phone runs out of mins they charge you 15 to turn back on on top of your mins. Never will I go back to them.

I like using my Cricket Samsung Amp Pro. I had it for about 5 years now, it has not let me down. I am about to upgrade it to a Samsung Galaxy 10e. However, my current phone is still working very well. The only issue I had was no service in the rear of department stores. I was told that the companies put a block towards the rear of the store to deter their employee from using their cell phones while at work. I had switched from another service to Cricket & had gotten my phone for 'free' excluding all the other charges. One 'pro' about this service, is that the data is pretty good w/o using WiFi, a few 'cons' about this service, is that it doesn't always carry good cell coverage, another flaw, from a person who lives paycheck to paycheck, is that if you aren't able to pay your bill by the day it's due, they charge you a 15$ late fee on top of the bill. Another downside,.. they don't ever give any good deals to their loyal customers, & they don't give any good deals for loyal customers wanting to upgrade, a good phone company should show their loyal customers some appreciation at least sometimes.

I personally like Cricket Wireless and services but I would like to add few things when it comes to compare with other prepaid companies like Metro PCS or Boost Mobile. Just like other companies offers unlimited plans for $50 and also offers Amazon Prime membership or Google One but cricket doesn’t offer something like that plus on their $55 plan there is a limit of max 3Mbps internet speed while in other companies there is no restrictions like that and also the last thing want to mention is the phone variety or offers. Cricket offers free phones but not as good as competitors and also they bring new models way before than cricket so these are some things I personally believe if cricket works on those then it can beat any competitors.

Cricket is that company you want to turn to when you are low on cash. They have a variety of plans that are decent to chose from. They have also increased their service area of locations. They have many more telephone options to chose from now and great customer service at a low cost. I turned to them when I hit rock bottom. They were very understanding and they worked with me through my hard financial times. The phones they offer are good quality phones that are comparable to Apple, Verizon or AT&T. The service is just as good for probably half the price. I am from El Paso, TX living in San Antonio, TX. I travel back and forth by car. I always get good reception with service by Cricket in the middle of nowhere and that is what I mean by saying that they are increasing the service of area of locations. I couldn't cancel online, either. I finally had to contact my bank, which called Cricket and ran into the same problem. With Cricket you get what you pay for; the service is shoddy, you will have dropped calls, DO NOT do their phone financing or you will literally pay double what the phone is worth. In their terms and conditions they tell you that you pay 100% extra for the financing. Their customer service is not very well educated in cell phones or tech support. We have been using Cricket for over 3 yrs now without any problems or issues. If you want a no-frills carriers Cricket is the answer. Voice and data plan with automatic credit card debit is the lowest available. Just recently they are some additional plans are available such as wireless calling, unlimited data and mobile hot spot. Like other carriers new subscribers get a better deal than upgrading a existing plan just like the other carriers. If you want to purchase a phone with a plan the selection is limited so it is best to purchase a unlocked GSM phone from eBay or Amazon or the many other on-line sellers.
There are stores are geographically located near population centers so you do not have to search far to find a location. We have yet had a need to visit a store to resolve any issues. The one we organically visited to activate the BYOD. All that was necessary was change out the SIM card with a Cricket Wireless and activate our account. There are no long waits like the major carriers to pay bills, resolve phone issues and purchase accessories.

Free phone was decent. Service generally works except in the outer limits of the city. Compared to other rates with premium carriers it has been good enough overall. Nevertheless my support issues began before I even activated my phone. The site had promised me 1-day shipping before the daily time cutoff. Mine took two days to ship though. So it didn't arrive before the weekend and it inconvenienced me twice because you have to be home to sign for it. Support absolutely refused to do anything about it.
So what happens when you mess up on your end of the deal? Well they start tacking on late fees right away. And obviously your phone service gets suspended. And clearly they aren't going to prorate you monthly bill to compensate for any inactive days. Maybe this is reasonable to you. In light of the unfilled promise as a brand new customer I'm dumbfounded how little they care to retain me. Clearly non-premium service warrants treating us like we're desperate bums.
I tried to make a timely payment tonight and they've already locked my account. Support is closed early since it's Sunday. This is the final straw for me. If they don't waive the $5 fee I'll be gone. Sadly when I switch I'll get no prorated credit for the paid-ahead month. Customer support is staffed by unhelpful idiots for the occasions I've reached out for general questions.

My opinion is if nothing is wrong then their AT&T towers in the area need to be upgraded.

This was the worst cell phone company I have ever used. There was too much advertising that would pop up all the time.. I used this company for a month because we had already paid for it, and we got 4 supposedly free phones. However upon looking at the total cost we ended up pay around 10 dollars for each phone.. And we couldnt use them anywhere else because of the Cricket company.. We had advertising popping up constantly. It was the worst. The 4 free phones they were advertising was a joke.. It was the worst. I do not recommend this phone service at all. I went back to Metro PCS. They are by far the best with no contract, no hidden fees, great hotspot service.. Stores everywhere. The employees are very helpful..

Why pay exorbitant fees for cell phone service when you can get the same service for about half the price. I have been using Cricket for many years and notice no difference from the big names cell phone companies. I get unlimited service for about $50 a month, even less if you dont need unlimited data. Give it a try and you'll never go back. I even received a free phone when I signed up.

It hasn't even been a few hours of being off and I'm being charged a $15 reactivation fee when it states that it only applies if it has been off for over 59 days. You call them all they say is there is nothing they can do the system issued it. Well guess what it's something I can do about it and that is go somewhere else where I am valued. Even after dealing with so many issues where they took it upon themselves and changed my plan without my consent or knowledge I stayed. But I refuse to be taken advantage of. Say you want to change your payment due date to one day after the day it is due, they want to charge you 6$ and some change. If you have 2 lines on your account and want to remove one of them they want to charge you around 43$ to do so. I have the 60$ unlimited plan and added a extra line for my GF about 3 months ago and not including the monthly bill I was charged 147$ for it. Straight up rip off company cricket has become. So I decided to get my kids on Cricket Wireless, the service was inactive for a few days. I attempted to make a payment, and since this is prepaid service, you think you going to pay for what you use. Well this company changes your due date and tell you for a fee and tell you that fee is a reconnect/reactivation fee, words of an agent I spoke to “Samantha”, "Ok, we are changing your due to the 29th of each month, you may pay $100 to restore service." “My words” but 2 lines are suppose to be $90, she stated, "To change your due date there’s a reactivation fee $10," I did not request to change my due date but only to pay for services they will be using, isn’t that what prepaid is?
Cricket is awful, either the agents/Sups I spoke with had no clue or there was a language barrier, I’m not sure but we will be discontinuing keeping their service and they should take some tips from some of these other prepaid phones services, like Metro PCS and maybe the stores won’t be as empty.... I’m very disappointed!

I've been a loyal customer of Cricket Wireless for 6 years now. The coverage and price was amazing until 2 years ago. Calls keep dropping, sometimes I'd be or of service for weeks at a time with no way to contact them. When I finally could contact them they'd tell me to go to the nearest cricket store.... The closest one is 2 hours away.
So after dealing with terrible service, rude customer service, and just terrible over priced devices I switched to Google Fi. Well, cricket too a payment AFTER my number had been ported out. I called to try to fix it, they said they could pull from my bank account up to 3 days before my next billing cycle because I was set up on auto pay. I asked him if my account was still active, he said no. My account had been cancelled the day my phone number was ported out. I asked for a refund because my account was closed several days before the payment was taken. He said they won't refund me because my account was cancelled... I felt like I was stuck in a Monty Python skit. Seriously, avoid this company.

I've been with Cricket off and on over 5 years. The service (data speed and coverage) has been on a sharp decline in the past year. Recently my four lines all suffered incredibly slow internet leading me to call in support. Long story short, Cricket (via the phone and chat reps) told me to deal with it or leave. They showed ZERO interest in keeping a long time customer. Fast forward two weeks and they have suspended my lines, refused to release them to another Carrier (in direct violation of Federal FCC law) and somehow my "current bill" is $158 on a "4 for $100" plan after I expressed my displeasure with their service and support.
Currently, my elderly mother is without a phone and cannot move her number (that has all of her banks, doctor's, etc. attached) to another provider. I call to Cricket, was a real test of patience, politely asking to be put in touch with anyone who could review the bill or release the number... In the end, I was politely told to ** off and unless I paid a bill that they refuse to explain the numbers WILL NOT be released. I have such a bitter taste after this ordeal and will be reaching out to the State AG and protection agencies. I strongly advise everyone to avoid Cricket if at all possible.

She also repeated which number she was going to change. Well, she changed the wrong one, my business telephone number of ten years. They were unable to recover my phone number. I am currently in the process of ordering all new marketing material for my company as the phone number associated with my business and products is now invalid. They’re a big company anyways so I’m new to this company and I end up breaking my phone. I go in to see what it’s gonna cost me to get a new phone and They proceeded to tell me I’m gonna have to pay the full price of the phone. Didn’t mention that I had insurance on my phone. Didn’t mention I could upgrade. They did nothing do you help me so I get home thinking I’m gonna have to buy a phone outright with money I don’t have. I get online on their web site. I read my add ons. Wow I have insurance, then I read that you can upgrade every 90 days!
During all of this going on my car is broke down, so I finally got a ride back to the store and tell them what I want. When she comes back with the price for what I wanted it was way more than I thought so I went with something extremely cheaper and definitely not what I wanted, just to find out I could’ve got the phone I wanted at an affordable price. By the time I get the price of this phone and ask the lady about the other phone I was baffled. You would think they would want to sell more expensive phone, but the sales representative all 3 act like I’m a hassle every time I walk in the door.
I’m all about customer service. I mean just in my everyday life I treat people I don’t know better than they treat me. I’m really feeling stuck with a phone I don’t want, with a company who cares less if their customers stay or go. I always heard good things but my experience has been stressful, time consuming, and a just horrible really. I’m clueless. I don’t know what to do!

After two years I told this friend that I needed the 5th line so could she please get her own account. Before she did that I went to Cricket and bought a phone and asked them to transfer that 5th line that my friend was using onto my new phone. They charged me $10 for a sim card and $25 to configure the line. Plus the cost of the phone. When I went home the phone said "emergency calls only." I called cricket who gave me the biggest run around with all these reps and finally a supervisor who had no idea how to help and asked the same questions over and over.
Turns out my friend ported that number onto her own account and because of that, Cricket took away my 5th line and then said that I couldn't have it back once taken away because it was a "grandfather" plan. I kept asking why they sold me a phone and configured the sim card and charged me $25 to configure it to that line with that same phone number. No answer. They don't know anything and don't take responsibility for anything. I don't blame my friend for porting her number but they should have told me that this would cause me to lose my 5th line and that I could not get it back. Instead they sell me a phone, charge me for a sim card and $25 dollars to set the phone up. Can't wait to get away from this company! I thought T-Mobile was bad but these guys take the cake!!

When I called customer service, I was told by Rain, Sophie, Rahm, and Gherkin, all in customer service, that because I did not call them back to state that the payment was made, they cut my phone off. I did not know that I had to call them back because they never said to call back after making the second bridge pay. At some point within the last year with no notification the online account was deleted. We are on autopay and I rarely (pretty much never) need to log in. We have been in this state for YEARS. I call and after 1.5 hours of customer no service troubleshooting and repeatedly telling them the issue they finally open a "tech support" case. This has happened 4 times now. "Tech Support" will call in 2 minutes after a text message to one of the 5 phones and if you do not answer the call they close the ticket. You cannot call them back and reference the support ticket number, no method to contact the support tech in any way.
I cannot update my credit card info on the account for autopay because their system will not send the temporary password to any of the 5 phones so I can log in and update the payment info. This is ridiculously terrible. Needless to say we are looking at taking our business elsewhere, not that they would even care. I usually have no issues with working something out but in this case they are not even willing to provide or offer an out-of-band solution. I bought this phone and two Stylo 5s for my family for Christmas. Didn't open them until Christmas morning (ordered online) everything about the G7 is great. I love Motorola. BUT cricket is a JOKE. I switched from Metro and wish I DIDN'T. I put all three phones into cases and put screen protectors the moment we activated them Christmas morning. That night I was playing a game and noticed a hair on my screen. Lo and behold it is not a hair. The screen is cracked. NOT THE SCREEN PROTECTOR! The actual phone. I spent hours on the phone with the warranty department, customer service, the website. I was hung up on, transferred to people who didn't want to hear my issue or couldn't help and would transfer me again.
So now I'm stuck with a new phone that's broken and cannot afford another, or to replace the screen with my own money. I knew I should have gotten all Stylos. Lesson learned. I may just switch back to metro for myself. You can have your knock off broken phone. They did nothing. And I still have a broken screen. Thanks cricket.

I had an account by myself, one line, one person, one bill. A friend of mine was declining in health, so I decided to take on his bill to lessen burden. Eventually, several months after doing so, we decided to merge accounts to alleviate 2 different payments. When we did so, I requested to put his account on mine. Hence I was paying the bill with my account. As to my knowledge, I assumed this is the action they took. Then, unfortunately, my friend passed away so I called CRICKET wireless, obviously gave them a pin of sort to take my friend off the account and discontinue the service since he was NO LONGER ALIVE!!!! Again, my assumption, figured they took him OFF MY ACCOUNT!..
Then, my phone is stolen, I suspend the service, then realized my pin was not accurate, then it asked me to change pin, to have a text sent to me. HELLO, NO PHONE, NO TEXT.. these people seemed to be surprised at the fact if your phone gets stolen, you are UNABLE to receive a text. Well, eventually after trying so many times, 5, by the way.. I was locked out of my account. I went to a store as directed to show Identification, in which the first store said, they did not do that, then the second store attempted. Because, I had tried too many times with the wrong answer to MY DEAD FRIEND'S PASSWORD QUESTION!
Come to find out they put my info on his account... Why, I have no idea. I had all the proof, and they did not do anything to help me!!! In fact would not stop my autopay! I had just paid my bill 2 days prior to this happening, they would not refund my money, or gain me access to my account!!! Cricket's employees, showed no empathy or concern to my situation! I would not give them one more **** dime out of my pocket! I would not recommend 5 minutes of their business or service!!! This was repulsive, shame on you cricket, you piece of **! After 45 minutes of being on hold and asking for a supervisor because this was an urgent matter, I finally got service to be turned on that night at midnight.
Three days later, I lost service again. I was informed that service was discontinued because of the first agent’s report and that the second agent had closed the case. Because it was closed it would need to be reviewed by a review board before ever being reinstated, and that would take a minimum of 7 days. I tried to explain it to them that it is wrong to tell a customer that they will be refunding our money and then turn around and act like we are trying to get something that we did not deserve.
We never received the service for extra $29 and we called them the same day to restore our grandfathered service. I asked why I wouldn't get my money back. This rep offers me $10 and says it was our fault and he can't do anything about it. I asked to speak with his supervisor and she immediately started repeating their "I am sorry blah blah but it was our/customer's fault." I then started explaining how they are not understanding the issue here. She kept talking over me even when I repeatedly asked her to let me finish what I wanted to say. When a customer is given a promise for a refund, it should be honored. Otherwise I would have walked away from Cricket that day. I can get a much better deal with another company.
This supposed supervisor would not let me talk again and just said sorry you get only $10, it was my fault. No it was not my fault, your store clerk took advantage of my elderly mother and signed her up for something that she had no idea she did. Well when I raised my voice a little bit more and said "will you let me speak, can you stop talking over me?", she paused for a few second, crickets... then hung up the phone on me. Wow that never happened to me, is this how they handle customers? I never used profanity and they have the recording to hear our conversation. It appears Cricket is not interested in keeping their existing customers. I will cancel my service at the end of this month, I have been with them for over 6 years.

One of cricket wifeless' (cw),main advertising "plugs", is..."BYOD, bring your own device". What they fail to disclose is that yes, if your phone is compatible with being able to receive the bandwidth frequency that they broadcast on, cellular and data wise, then you can use their cellular and data services...to an extent. You see, they demand that you use cricket branded phones exclusively if you wish to use some of their features. They will lie to you, and tell you that if you would like to use their hotspot feature, you must have a cricket branded phone or it will not work period!! That is an outright fraudulent lie!
My husband's phone is a Samsung, unbranded, sim unlocked, phone. It's compatible with the cw bandwidth so the cellular and data work. We recently needed to use his hotspot for internet service at our home. So, I turned on his hotspot and it connected and ran thru cw. I noticed the next day that the data speed was significantly slower than it was the day before. So I went into the "My cricket" app and realized the hotspot feature was not recognized on my husband's line. So I went thru the procedure of adding that feature. And, it went thru. For about 2 weeks that feature worked just fine with good speed. Then our bill came thru. It was paid for by auto pay. No problem, or so I assumed.
Within a couple of days of our bill being paid, the data speed once again slowed to the speed of .15 download speed and .03 of upload speed. Basically, no data speed whatsoever!! I tried to go into my cricket account via the app and Chrome and kept getting the error message of, "We're sorry for the inconvenience, but cricket servers are down temporarily. Please call cricket customer service at... Blah, blah, blah". And so I did. To be told, that their technical dept was in our area switching out servers and all should be up and going in 24 hours. That was 3 weeks ago. I sit here this evening writing this, and I still cannot get into my account in any way, not even if I use my husband phone, my tablet, or computer. I have attempted to change my password, to be let in and then suddenly kicked out and cannot get back in.
Called their customer service number yesterday. Talked with a csr for over 30 minutes. Csr could not explain why I was not able to get into my account. They see change out had been rectified for over 2 weeks. So, he had me go to the sign in page and put in my phone number, leave password blank and hit the "Forgot password" option. To which there wasn't one. He kept on about the fact that there should be one, going so far as to have me read all the options offered. So, with great confusion, heavy in his voice he said, "Let me go in and let's change your security question and see if that will bring back the forgot password option." It didn't. So then he says, "What changes were you wanting to make." I explained everything to him, to which he responded with this, "Because, your husband's phone is a... non branded phone, it is not compatible, therefore you can only access this feature, if you buy and activate a new, cricket wireless branded phone".
And I said, "No, you are very mistaken. And, you did not listen to one word I just explained to you. The hotspot on my husband's phone has been on, up and running for over 2 weeks. So, when you say the hotspot will not even turn on, you are incorrect." And he continued to argue with me for another 10-15 minutes, until I completely lost my cool and told him, "If you can't answer my legitimate question as to why you're telling customers their hotspot will not even turn on, because the phone is not compatible, yet it does and works, because the ** sim has been unlocked, then you get your behind up out of your chair and go find someone who can answer that question and stop repeating your policy guidelines over and over 20 times, back to back, over talking me and being ** rude as hell, and treating me as if I'm some uneducated piece of trash who lacks common basic comprehension of the English language!!!"
He then said, "I will get my supervisor on the phone." While waiting 20 minutes on hold to talk to a supervisor, I tried to access my cricket account. The forgot password option was not on the sign in page, but, "Login help" was. I pushed it. Took me to a page that offered the forgot password option. Pushed it. Put in my number and user name. Pushed submit, and it then asked me my new security question. I answered correctly. Sent me a temp password, via a text to my phone. Entered my number and temp password on sign in page and got the same exact error message as I did the first time.
When the supervisor came on the line, he said, "I understand you want the hotspot feature." I said yes. He said, "Let me help you get that activated." When he saw the Galaxy S7, as my husband's phone, he repeated the exact words that the csr had perviously uttered. Yup which I told him he was wrong, and explained. He then said, "Well you're lucky and I see here where they sent you a text telling you to stop using the hotspot or the phone would be shut off." And I told him we'd received no such message, to which he told me, "You're mistakes mam you got it yesterday." And about that time a notification went off on my phone, indicating a new text message. (When I looked at it, after the call, it was the warning message.)
The supervisor outright lied about it and sent it while we were discussing all of it. Just to cya crickets fraudulent butts!! By now after 1 hour and 10 minutes on the phone, I lost my cool. I told them that what they were doing is considered descriptive business practices, acting to Texas and federal statutes because they were perpetuating lies that they knew are lies in order to force customers into buying new cw branded phone. Yet their main plug for cw service is that you can byod. I'm now filing a formal complaint, with the cfpb and fcc for deceptive business practices and fraud. Plus a few more gov't regulatory depts. And I strongly suggest, that every customer that is experiencing this kind of fraudulent business behavior do the same!!

On November 26, 2019 I went to change from Verizon to Cricket due to savings. The kiosk worker did a great job of allowing me to use my own phone and ported my number over. When I got home, just in our area Cricket's service stopped working in my house only. I learned my phone was no longer able to text or call due to its model and this outage. I quickly drove back to the mall to see if I could get an upgraded phone that could connect to the internet in the short term for service as I could not be without any service.
I was informed by the area manager that it was too late! I not only could not get the new business phone price, but she also refused to waive the additional $25 activation fee which I had just paid for a few hours prior. This was a poor business decision on this manager's part. Shame on Cricket for hiring incompetent managers that have zero empathy to my situation. I got screwed out of $75 all because I did not know enough about phones and how they were affected during outages.

Good luck if you are coming from Trac Prepaid to Cricket and want to keep your phone number.

I was very disappointed in the service that I received at Cricket 1651 NE 8th St Homestead, Florida location. I brought in with my own phone. I ask sales associate/manager could a phone I already had in my possession be connected, how much to connect service and etc.. The sales associate inserted a chip and assured me that my phone could be used with Cricket service. I was told to pay $25 activation fee and first month of service, taxes, fee etc... which was about $96.
To make a long story short, right after paying my money I was told that my phone could not be connected to service due to a carrier block and I could not receive a refund. After requesting refund from manager several times, I was denied. I called customer service and they were not very helpful in my situation. They told me to dispute charges if I paid with debit/credit but I had paid in cash. Cricket customer service told me that manager would have to make that decision for cash. Robbery!!!! I will never use Cricket service or purchase products from Cricket again.

I love Cricket because I used to have AT&T. Now that’s a pain in the neck and charge me 125 a month and not much service. And prepare to wait until you going into labor if you are pregnant. AT&T is the worst of the worst and they were about to go bankrupt until iPhone use their only company to Apple phone buyers and boy were they cocky. And I hate AT&T and I would use payphone before I use AT&T. Is really a ridiculous company SO I SWITCH to CRICKET and was I grateful. And still now I pay 95 for 2 lines and unlimited internet use. And sometimes it will slow down a little when overused so no worries as long as I get there.
And AT&T offers 4 GB for 125. If I don’t use it it will not roll over and still pay the same price. I freaking hate AT&T. And I had cricket for 3 years now and never have issue with payment to connection to customer service. Always very short wait and the people at cricket was helpful and patient especially to Edwin who had helped me reset my network when I suddenly lost internet connection on my phone. CRICKET love and all of you should give it a try. But yet I afraid if cricket getting too big it will become another AT&T SO CRICKET don’t change. And I like cricket just the way it is and always.

Dealing with customer service for Cricket Wireless is about as frustrating as picking eraser fuzzies from wet paint with tweezers. They don't listen, they belittle the issue, and they pawn off the "work" onto me rather than actually help, which leads to even more eraser fuzzies and frustration. I called customer service because once again, I could not get into my online account.
I needed to download some of my monthly usage/statement info. I had tried several times with both my phone numbers to get logged into the website. Nothing worked. I kept getting an error message on the website (and on the app) telling me: My Account (the service, not my actual account) is temporarily unavailable. Try again later or call Customer Care yadda yadda yadda. I write down my login info upon service setup so I knew my information was correct but two days in a row I could not get access to my account. And the second error I kept getting was after I called customer service the second time, which I’ll explain after the first error.
Both times I called the first day the agents must have had me on mute because they went through their script like Homer binging on a donut. Nothing said to them slowed them down, much less stopped them. Each time I kept telling them it was the website not me but they plowed on ahead anyhow. They had me trying to reset passwords, redo my user name, reset my code question, etc. Each time nothing changed… I could not get past the login screen on the website – cause remember… they made me do it again and again on the website rather than just hit the magic reset button on their end.
They told me I was doing it wrong. They kept telling me I wasn’t on the right screen. They even spelled out the web address because, let’s face it, I must not be an actual customer (they asked.) They just could not get it through their heads that My Account wasn’t working, either on a computer or phone app. To them it was operator error and come heck or high water, they were going to make this issue my fault. After arguing with them for nearly 30 minutes on the second phone call they finally concluded that I had tried too many time that day to login and now I had to wait 24 hours to let the system reset. So I waited.
After 24 hours I opened a chat this time rather than call because I hate dealing with those guys as it is. People say less when they have to type it out. Needless to say, they were no help either. I texted them that I could not get logged into my online account and they went through the same tired script while I munched on a donut. I kept answering with the same thing: the website it not working.
I cannot get past the login screen. And they plowed on ahead anyhow. This time the agent really went for broke and had the nerve to ask me why I even wanted to login to my account in the first place. By now I’m Lamaze breathing and thanking any deity listening that I’m typing rather than speaking because my fingers sure don’t work as fast as my smart mouth does. I gave them a cap W T F and proceeded to explain that it was my account and I would login when I felt like it for reasons that are my own. He apologized but geez, why did he even ask such a ridiculous question in the first place?
After accepting my pin the customer service person came back saying that I needed to redo my whole account due to some error on their end. That was all I could get from them. Some error? So I clicked the link provided by the helpful agent and it took me to a “register your account” front page and I proceeded to redo my account info by starting out with a new username and my phone number. Simple enough. Imagine my (lack of) surprise when I got an error… “Uh oh! You may have missed something. Please check your answers below and try again.”
Funny thing is, there are only two “questions” to answer 1) phone number and 2) user name – which must include at least one letter (check), Be at least five characters (check), Not contain special characters (and check). Confirm I’m not a robot, God forbid… and Submit. And I got an error for answering the “questions” incorrectly. So I tried again lest I be accused of being a quitter. Same results again and again, even if I was trying different user names just to make sure I wasn’t Homer.
The chat agent decided that maybe my case should be escalated to the tech team. He asked me when to call and I said now. That answer didn’t work so I settled for some time in the next 24 hours but usually, they don’t call me back. I have to call them. So now I’m back to waiting on Cricket Wireless customer service to do something other than nothing. In the meantime I will scratch out my frustrations on paper and not erase the rude words that I could not use on this website.

Cricket is a prepaid cell phone service. Each cell phone line on an account is $40 per month. And there is no contract involved. Meaning, each line is approximately $1.33 per day. As a prepaid service, the customer should be able to pay by the week (if they choose). However, in speaking with customer service reps (who do not speak English), you are required to pay the entire $40 upfront even if you may or may not want the service for the entire month.
The “free” Android cell phone they give you is terrible. It’s like a toy for toddlers to play with. It comes with only 8 gigs! I don’t understand how they continue to exist. It’s almost like a scam. And the customer service hours are bad. Which makes sense because the customer service is horrible! They don’t understand what you are trying to explain to them and they only read from a script (repeating the same line multiple times). I do not recommend Cricket for anyone. If you want prepaid service, go to T-mobile, etc. Always check reviews before you decide on a service. I neglected to do this before going to Cricket. I won’t do that again.

Updated on 12/26/2019: I went to the Cricket store (Mobile Link) where I purchased the phone and tried to get my $40 back for the ear buds that I didn’t want. I spent a full hour at the desk trying to get my refund. Believe it or not, the mobile link store cannot just give the customer a direct refund as 95% of stores do. They actually have to go to the computer and ASK Cricket if they can do it. As you can guess, this gets asinine pretty quickly and cricket does everything possible to deny a simple refund. Like what? Well, when the “associate” tried to log in on his end for the refund request he kept getting an error message. After waiting about 15 minutes, he tried again - success logged in!
Believe it or not, when he asked cricket for my refund they actually said I had to return ALL the accessories to get a refund for the ear buds. I told the associate It didn’t make any sense. “What do I do - remove the phone case and try to pull the screen protector off the screen and hand them back - even though I paid for and owned them? He just said he didn’t know.
Then cricket tried a new tact. The associate pointed out on the original receipt all the accessories said the amount paid for each was 0, after the price. I told him that was just in anticipation of me financing the thing - I did indeed pay for each accessory as well as the phone itself and owned them outright when I paid the full price to free myself from the lease - correct? He agreed. When he tried to call cricket and couldn’t get them on the phone for an actual conversation he couldn’t connect. He again tried to log in to his cricket store account, you guessed it - he kept getting an error message.
The small printer connected to the cash register then came to life and printed out a refund slip! 1 @ $39.99. — paid $0. Subtotal — ($39.99) —- A Refund — YES! Then I looked at the very last line on the credit slip which read: “Accessories are only refundable when included with a phone payment plan lease”. So there you go. A full hour playing the round and round with a Mobile Link Store associate and some unknown Cricket / Progressive lease mope, accomplishing absolutely nothing and still no $40. I plan on contacting the NYS Attorney General shortly about Cricket/ Progressive leasing and how they are trying to do business.
Original review: Not sure if you know it, but Progressive Insurance bought Cricket Wireless. So now when you go to a Cricket store to buy a phone here’s how it works. Say the phone costs $199. The first thing that happens when you tell the counter mope the phone you want - they will go in the back to get your phone. Then watch them go over and start selecting every accessory they can think of. Ear buds, new cases, screen protector (OK, you probably want this one), new charger & cord, etc.
The counter mope won’t tell you this, but everything they pick up for you is something you’re going to be leasing over time through — you guessed it — Progressive Leasing! Every accessory costs $19.99, no matter what it is with the exception of the charger cord. This puppy costs $39.99 and is something you can get through Amazon for probably under ten bucks. Cricket will only allow you to pay about 1/3 of the bill immediately and you must lease say, the charger and screen protector if that’s all you want.
So if the counter mope puts out 3 accessories and the charger cord with your new phone these are things you will be leasing for an additional $100 IF you pay the total bill the next day or under 90 days. Your $199 phone is now $299 plus tax, or around $325! Of course if you want phone insurance it’s available for $7 a month - through progressive insurance of course. You are allowed to return the additional accessories for a full refund but ONLY if you agree to the FULL yearly Progressive lease. I do ride share and get paid weekly, so the total cost of the full allowed lease year (52 payments, deducted automatically) plus tax, would be $675 for the original $199 cell phone!! Progressive Insurance and Cricket allows both companies to have their cake and eat it too on you! And it’s a BIG cake. Hope this helps.

I decided to get another service on another phone and only use it for my contacts, and not give out the number to any other source, that may sell it to third party jack**. So I checked my coverage with my ZIP code on the Cricket service area map and my phone compatibility, and WALA!!! Congratulations you can become the next Cricket Wireless sucker. $40.00 and waiting.
Received my SIM card today and now time for the 3 simple steps to activate my phone. My most recent experience was on October 7, 2019. Unfortunately, I had just lost my phone. This was the first time. I went into a local shop located at 30-29 Steinway Street, Astoria (Queens) New York. There I was greeted by **, the store manager. I explained my situation and ** assisted me in ing another phone. The phone I had was a Samsung S9. I was not looking for any particular brand this time, I just wanted one that would prove reliable. ** showed me a LG Stylo 5 which he said was being offered through Cricket for considerably less than what it was being offered for in a larger store, Best Buy.
I was not familiar with the LG smartphones, although I actually have other large LG products at home: refrigerator and television. He showed me the stylus (hence, "Stylo") feature which was attached to the phone. I think that was the feature which made me particularly interested in purchasing the LG. In addition, the price was reasonable and price, of course, was the number one factor. ** was efficient, professional and quite pleasant. He took time to get the new phone set up with a new SIM card. He was able to retrieve and restore my contacts, texts and photos from the lost phone. I was very happy about that because I had been concerned that they may have been lost as well. I was quite satisfied with the customer service I received from ** and left feeling content with a new phone.
As for Cricket itself, I have had no issue with the service. I switched to Cricket when it was just moving into my neighborhood, the store I went into was just being put up. I wanted to switch from other carriers with the main problem being that other carriers I had were not able to provide service where I traveled often, about 4 hours outside of New York City. I decided that if the service from Cricket functioned in that area then I would gladly switch and become a customer.
The pricing was good and I was able to save $5 per month by using the automatic payment. This works well for me because I do not have to be concerned with going into a store or mailing off a bill to make a payment and there is no chance of having my service terminated should I forget to do so. I have told many friends and relatives to consider switching to Cricket when they have told me about problems they experience with their providers. I cannot understand why anyone would choose to sign a 2 year contract and have high monthly payments.
Actually, there is one change that has been made since Cricket has expanded and now has many more customers. This is an important subject. The thing that really stood out and impressed me when I was new to Cricket was that when I called for information, there was an ACTUAL PERSON who answered the call! I used to tell folks about how nice that was and that it made me really want to continue as a Cricket customer. Sadly, that is not the case anymore. Cricket has, unfortunately, gone the way of most others by having an automated answering system with a menu. However, I continue to recommend Cricket as a good choice for a cellular service provider.

Am told UPS has the phone. A lie. Am told phone is ready for shipment waiting for UPS. A lie. He’s just fishing trying to tell me what he thinks I want to hear. Finally get a supervisor who offers no solution other than wait for the phone to be in stock or open a trouble ticket to cancel the order. Can’t just cancel it now.
Sunday, when I placed the order, the Cricket website showed the phone in stock. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday it’s in stock. Thursday it shows out of stock. Friday it has been completely removed from the website. And they tell me to wait for it to be in stock again? Clearly they will never get the phone again. Other phones on the website show out of stock, but are still there. The supervisor ‘says’ he will open a ticket to cancel the order. Then I will be refunded my money. I imagine it will take weeks for me to get my money back so I went ahead and filed a dispute with my bank.
In a nutshell, Cricket Wireless cellular service is great. I never had an issue with it. On the other hand, customer service is incompetent and useless. If you want good inexpensive cellular service then Cricket is the place to go. But if you ever have to deal with customer service then you had better dig in because you will be dealing with people that are useless morons. They will give you vague answers. They will lie to you. They will over non solutions to your issue. Despite the excellent cellular service, I’ve left Cricket due to the horrible customer service.

Then after two months I finally was able to download apps without WiFi. Another issue we had was we repeated to the lady who sold us the lines that we wanted auto pay. She even charged us an extra fee for that and a month later our lines get disconnected when we have money in our account and I had to call customer service again and they said we were never on auto-pay. The lady also put us on insurance when me nor my boyfriend wanted any insurance on the phone. Lastly I've had Cricket for 3 months now and my internet Is horrible. It's extremely slow and sometimes my apps take FOREVER to load. This is unbelievable how I went from T-Mobile to Cricket and it was the worst mistake I made. DO NOT GET CRICKET. If you reading this it's nothing but lies and bad service.

Recently I had to purchase a new charger for my Samsung 8+. Cricket was helpful in determining it was the charger, not the phone, causing the phone not to charge. I appreciate that. However, they sold me a supposedly new charger made by ZIZO. I was told that if I had any problem to just bring it back and they would make good on the purchase. On the 4th day (in the car on the way out of the country) I noticed the cord was frayed at the connection to the plug that goes into the phone. The copper looking wires were exposed. The item was in no way mishandled... it was clearly a defective item.
After two days of correspondence and sending pictures to ZIZO and Cricket I was told that no refund would be given but I could get a replacement charger from ZIZO AFTER I paid postage of ABOUT $6.65. I refused as I feel I should not have to fork over additional money for an item I paid $32.46 for that was defective. I will never buy merchandise from Cricket again and I will never buy any product from ZIZO. Very disappointed in customer service.

You pay on a $80 bill of $130 the bill to keep phone from being cut off and when you come to pay the balance you have paid $80 do they deduct what you already paid.. NO. They want $130. In addition to this the billing cycle is only 20 days not 30 days. Really! Not being able to get online did it for me. I really pay Walmart. Or get a landline phone. I am done with Cricket. I am canceling all 4 lines with them. I need a reliable service for me and my children. Cheaper is not always better.

5 months ago my husband and I switched to Cricket..Oh joy. We finally had great reception at home. 3 days later they worked on the towers. When service was restored I could not get or make calls or receive any data at home. Now keep in mind we have exact same phones. He still had coverage for it all but it was a little spotty at times.
I caled service center which was outside of the US. Several calls were made over the next 2 months with no joy of coverage on my phone. Now their terms say unlimited but you cannot tether. Because of the problems I was having my husband tethered for me so I could at least get text messages. 2 nights ago they turned off his service. The plan is in my name so I still have service but only when I am away from my house. The reason for turning his service off...fraud due to tethering. We had just paid our bill 4 days before this happened. They will not turn his service back in unless we buy a new phone. Any way to get your money. Also tried to get them to reimburse a portion of the month but they said no. So beware and be sure to ask questions. You get what you pay for. I will not recommend Cricket to anyone.

One day last week, I went to use my phone, and I couldn’t get a connection. I called customer service for Cricket Wireless and was told my phone number had been switched to AT&T. The change had taken place within an hour of when I called them. I explained to the rep that I had not made any changes to my account. A ticket was generated to look into the situation further. Come to find out, earlier that day, someone was able to add a phone line to my account. The credit card used for this transaction was NOT my credit card. Then, a verification link was sent to that new phone line to change my password. After that, my phone number was switched over to AT&T.
For the next three days, I contacted Cricket customer service 2-3 times a day speaking to numerous reps and supervisors to see if any progress had been made on the investigation. I can’t begin to tell you how much time that sucked out my day to wait on hold hoping to get some answers. In the meantime, someone was clearly using my phone number, so I had to contact everyone I knew, doctor’s offices, etc… Anyone who might call or text on my cell phone and tell them not to use that number.
Finally, after going three days now without a phone, the case was closed only to find out that they did not see any “suspicious activity” on my account. Say what??? You’ve got to be kidding me! I have been a loyal Cricket customer for 3 years the whole time paying $120 a month on auto pay for three phone lines and never making any changes to my account. Then, within a period of a few minutes, a credit card that is not mine is used to add a 4th phone line to my account, gets a verification link to change my password, and switches only 1 phone on the account to AT&T. I have never felt so betrayed by a company, not to mention one that I have faithfully been a customer of for three years. The worst part is that whoever stole my phone number is going to get away with it. Needless to say, I am not a Cricket Wireless anymore. All three of my family’s phone lines are with a different carrier now.

I was Cricket's biggest fan for years! I had a flip phone with unlimited data and messaging for a total of $25 a month. Awesome! No problems! Then I got a smart phone with a 2GB data plan. In over a year I never exceeded the data limit. Not even close! All I ever did was read news articles on the internet. Never streamed movies. Never watched Youtube videos. Even those times when I was away from wifi and using the phone constantly, I never exceeded the limit...until now.
About a year after signing up for the plan, I suddenly used up all my data by the middle of the month. The next month all my data was used up by the fourth of the month. And this month my data was gone by the second of the month. I can still access the internet, but the speeds are very slow and "somehow" the sites I most frequently access don't even connect for hours. The scam is utterly transparent. Cricket is causing my data usage to be falsely exceeded very quickly so that I am forced to upgrade to a more expensive plan. I expect that if I upgraded to anything but the unlimited plan, the same thing would happen in a year.
Their customer service people might as well be robots, for all the help they offer. They simply keep repeating that you have used all your data and suggest that the real culprit is mysterious apps that are downloading all the data...even though I've disabled automatic updates. Cricket is running a very dishonest and illegal scam. I would advice people to stay away.

When l call on 8/30//19 to ask them how they can do something like after pestering me to do upgrade and when l decide to do it they cancel my order due to Cricket running out of the product. So l spoke to David that day and l explain to him all that l was calling for even the part of the reason for the upgrade, how we didn't want to use the their insurance because we wanted a different phone & what he did was just connect me their insurance for my phone to be replaced and not even get my upgrade issue figure out. So then when the insurance answer l explain to Tabitha on the other line, she confirm WHAT l had already had said to the Cricket customer care agent. She was very sorry for the way l was being treated and said all she could do is replace my husband phone but that's all. By this time l had already been on the phone for 30 mins and l didn't have any time to be connected back to CRICKET customer care line.
So l apologize to her and just told her l would call them later and speak to a SUPERVISOR. So l did that later that day, so Sharon answer and l just ask to speak to her SUPERVISOR. All she ask was for my name and went to get her for me. Then Kara the supervisor on duty came on and first thing l said that l was going to apologize due to l was very upset and frustrated already and went to explain all my situation and she listen very quietly, nicely in which she also apologize for a of my inconvenience and that she was going to see that l get the my upgrade l had order on their app and even gave me a order number in case l hadn't receive it in 5 to 7 days. So today is 9/5/19 and l still ain't receive it. l'm gonna give CRICKET till the 9/10/19 before l call my local news to put them on blast and see if that way l get the upgrade l already paid for.

Thank you, I am letting you all about the non-ethical practice that in my experience and with the free speech given to me, in my opinion the Cricket company has SET to payment managing procedures and how they in my opinion abuse of clients' money, creating a software payment machine robot that doesn’t inform very clear what we are paying, and the fees, and they end up tricking and penalizing people with fees that they MAKE UP and create with the indifference and not responding customer billing concerns phone calls, until the people fall into their trap. AND THE SERVICE END INTERRUPTED.
My case was that I was in London and I paid online 48 dollars, 40 of my monthly and regular pay and 7 for the security insurance, and I paid on my due date time 48 DOLLARS but the software site that they create does not alert people, very clearly that they are missing to pay the money for cover the transaction even if they alert, if any payment for our own effort by paying my self through the web. They charge 3 dollars for that, and when I finished with my wife the payment, it never show an alert window pop up or any another alert or notification that they can create to aware the customer that they are missing to pay a couple of dollars to cover all.
They don't show and add the fee in the total payment that the client should see on the final pay site window; so, they take advantage of this lack of "pay" in order that the automatic software process it like no payment so they create recorded audio that makes the people to get enroll in a bridge pay, if they want to reestablish connection, on the next call that the customer wants to do so we as a clients we don't have more option to say yes because the cellphone is a basic fundamental service in the daily living, especially in the airport where there is not always is a good wifi.
This record put you in a split pay, that charge automatically a fee, that is a unfair fee, based on the lack and non ethical way to inform to the customer that some dollars are missing, so when the client like me, tries to figure out why the company is asking for an elevated penalty for not covering a payment missing of only two dollars, we found a recorded machine that doesn't allow any human response or customer service and because my wife and I do not find it fair after trying many times to contact them with no chance to get a respectful response for the explanation of the payment, we end up discovering that they interrupted our service for non payment of 7 dollar payment not 2, and end up charging and requesting 17 dollars at the end of today.
The account is in 22 dollars. It means an interest of 1000%, it is legal in USA? It is a very high interest and I am not sure if it is legal and a part of the ethic fees and charges, that the laws in Florida allow inmy opinion. This is a clear trick of the company to gain more money from regular people that do not have the chance, the time or the opportunity to denounce it. Please investigate these practices and the constant increase of the terrible lack of personal customer service that every single client for respect should have. Thank you.

Cricket Wireless billing policy: For those on Automatic Payment Plan, we will withdraw the money from your account two days prior to the agreed upon date for payment, which is for all purposes a breach of the deal. e.g. My payment was agreed upon when I signed up to be on the 21st of each month. Cricket policy is to withdraw that payment of the 19th. So I had the payment taken from me today, 8/19, instead of the day it was supposed to be withdrawn, the 21st. Cricket will also do nothing to assist you in recovering a payment from the bank. The Cricket support reps are all great, but with a policy that is perhaps illegal, and is certainly dishonest, the rep's hands are tied. Really shady to do this, charge people on dates that they are not supposed to be charged.
Add to this that I all of a sudden am charged an additional $10 a month. What for you ask? Nothing. I did absolutely nothing to my account, nothing has changed. The reason given to me: (and this is just lowdown, despicable, unjustified by any stretch of the imagination) I was give a $10 off 'discount' for a period of time, because I brought over my phone number from another carrier. Let me repeat that. I was given a $10 DISCOUNT for a period of time. Now, that period is over, and I am being charged more money for the exact same service, plan, phone...And the reason is that a year ago, they had to allow me to use an existing phone number. Now, this number has been established at Cricket for a year, and the reward for that, for being a loyal customer, for having auto pay, is to raise my rates. Not illegal, but really **, and it cannot be justified...
I am leaving Cricket Wireless today because of these items. By the way everyone, you can get the same service, keep your phone and phone number (no extra charge to do so), and not have to worry about questionable business practices by gong to uhh, just about any other carrier. I am going to **. I will be paying $28.50 FOR THE EXACT SAME THING, with my same phone, my same number, and I won't have to worry about unknown charges on non agreed upon days.

Coverage was awesome, prices were good, discount for autopay... only one per account. My daughter is on a second account, and her entry phone also had issues. My husband didn't get info for the referral so tried calling that night and got hung up on and rudely spoken to. Infuriated, he isn't going to deal with it but put off a little bit.
Months later I call about getting it done and the experience. He sounded helpful and we should see money off in the next couple cycles. Never did see that. So months later I call again. There was no history that anyone called and without a supposed referral code that we don't remember getting, they can't do anything about it so we wasted hours for nothing and was upset for too long. Also, apparently you can purchase and activate a phone for free online. Wish someone would have told me because we paid a hefty activation fee at the store. I had such high hopes for this company. I went in hearing that customer service was bad but figured I wouldn't really need it but I did and sure enough they came through with what the other reviewers complained about.

I switched from Verizon to Cricket in order to save money. Three days in and my service was terrible. Calls were dropped, and when I called customer service, I got nothing but the runaround. Overall, this was a horrible experience from the start. First, UPS lost my SIM card and Cricket customer service gave me three different answers in getting a new one or reimbursed for having to drive to the store to get another one. So, I basically lost $50 between the lost SIM card, buying another one, and a full 30 days of service that was spotty at best. I went to Verizon to switch back only to discover that Cricket had locked my phone. It took me two and a half hours to resolve the issue. Horrible company! Verizon is worth every penny.

Had Cricket for over a year, loved how inexpensive the family plan was. Had a horrible experience with having personal accounts hacked, then my cell phone. Someone called the company stated they were me, had my number transferred to another phone, which intercepted any bank notification I would've received on my phone. I woke up with no cellular service and my bank account hacked. I called the company from another line and they ARGUED with me, said I called and requested my number to be changed to another phone. They have no fraud department, just complaints. I tried to get a supervisor or someone with authority, and couldn't get any assistance.
Essentially, you get what you pay for, they leaked personal information and refused to help. Be aware, these companies afford the great plans that beat out others, they cut back in areas that are most important. THEY HAVE NO FRAUD DEPARTMENT! For personal security I cancelled my family plan and purchased VPN, then had to pursue identity theft measures with my bank and credit bureaus. I loved Cricket until this happened. Do not use them.

I went into a cricket location in the 33055 zip code and encountered Patricia, the most delightful, charming and courteous Cricket agent that you'd ever want to meet. She asked me for some details and the summary of the story that caused the suspension and within a few minutes, she looked at my account, wrote an email to inquire on the status and competently solved the issue. My service was restored and I am pleased with the service that I have had for five years.

A friend told me about Mint Mobile, which is only $15 a month, has better coverage, better benefits, better customer care and are willing to process refunds without a hassle. I decided to switch asking for the remaining credit on my account to be returned and they refused!! They said I would have to call my bank to get my money returned. Additionally this company does not prorate and takes forever to answer the line keeping you on hold for over 20 minutes! The Cricket website is not working either! I couldn't even log in for a week! I purchased a phone and service yesterday and woke up this morning uneasy about my decision because the service was really poor. I decided to return everything the way it was given to me because I had the phone less than 24 hrs. I went back to return everything and was told they could only refund me for the phone and nothing else which means I only received a 50% refund. Everybody I spoke with was extremely rude. I’m appalled by the lack of integrity in a company who’s known nationwide. Any company who lacks integrity is bottom of the barrel trash!! I would NEVER recommend Cricket for anybody! This company has never raised their price on me. I was told my 5 phones would be $125.00 with unlimited data. Although it does not have service in some areas that Sprint which is overpriced and steals your money even having proof that you paid them the bill they still take your money from you and God help if you ever pay Sprint with a credit card. Getting out of Sprint is almost impossible. They keep taking your money even after they send you a Zero Balance forward bill.
Thank God for attorneys. Sprint is making a settlement offer to me at this time not sure how much I'm going to get. But Cricket also has phone service in places that you don't get with Sprint. I believe that Cricket has a bit less service but where you get it you also get internet. With Sprint just cause you may have phone service you don't always get internet and they consistently raise the price of your bill. With Cricket I've never had a bill any different than what I was told I would pay. The price of Cricket is well worth it.

I didn't like that they cap your data at 8mbs. But since they came out with the Unlimited Extra plan last year that isn't the case anymore. I am constantly getting speeds well over 60mbs. I don't have any experience with any of the phones you can buy from their stores or online. I have always used my own phone that I buy unlocked. Autopay has always been the way to pay for me. I've never had a problem with them not taking a payment. I know when it's coming out and to make sure the money's available. In the 3 years I've been a customer I've only had to call customer service a handful of times and my problems were resolved quickly. I would highly recommend Cricket to anyone looking for prepaid wireless.

No signal issues (of course it depends on where you live, like with every company in the world), great customer service! I leave Cricket to a cheaper company (Good2Go mobile), only because they are cheaper! If Good2Go won't provide a good service, I'll probably go back to Cricket. I'm a very demanding and technological customer (not the average customer), and if Cricket was good enough for me, they will probably be good enough for 99% of the people! I have used Cricket for more than a year. It has been ok. One complaint is that monthly, they send you a text about your upcoming bill. These come at all hours of the day and night. 11 pm, 530 am. They wake me. It is stupid. Recently, I added another line. I bought an iPhone 7 from them for my son and signed up for service. I paid over $350 on my credit card. I have had auto bill pay for a year. The phone arrived and was easy to activate. It all went smoothly the first day. The next day I found that they had suspended service on both lines. They assessed me $1.83 for the first day's service and, instead of telling me about it or charging my credit card, they suspended service.
After a 20 minute phone call to India I understood what the problem was. They wrote off the $1.83, but we were without service until we figured out the problem. It is IDIOTIC to treat your customers this way. It is perfectly fine to charge me for the day's service, but to provide no notice of the charge and SUSPEND service is unforgivable. I wish I had chosen Straight Talk! All of this at the SAME time I had brought them an additional line!!!

I can put my sim card in any other phone and it will work. They were not willing to waive the fee. In return they have lost a loyal customer. I already pay for my data. The $10 gets me more data. I paid for a new Cricket phone which they got the money for so I will just put my sim card in my old phone and get my hotspot for free just like I always have. They say it is policy.
