I got an iPhone for Christmas, and the phone was locked to Cricket Wireless. We use Sprint/T-Mobile, so we had to get the phone unlocked. My dad called the help desk, who told him that to unlock the phone, he needed to create an account. After he created an account, they told him that they still couldn’t unlock the phone, and that he would need that he needed to wait for 6 months before they could unlock the phone.
TL:DR - The Cricket Wireless Help Desk locked my phone to their service, told my dad to make an account, didn’t unlock the phone after he made an account, and told him to wait 6 months (half of a year) to unlock the phone. My dad is calling the Corporate Office later, I will update this if needed.

I have been a Cricket Wireless customer for almost two months and before them, I used Metro By T-Mobile & Boost Mobile. Cricket has been phenomenal in every aspect from customer care to coverage. I have a Moto G 5G (2022) and they have been great whenever I needed assistance, had questions or even concerns. My local store(s) are great, and Cricket had just released 5G+ in my area, which is super exciting! I absolutely love Cricket Wireless! Their $60 plan is awesome - best plan to choose and go with because you get unlimited premium data, and HBO Max (with ads) for free, and 15GB of hotspot. I highly recommend Cricket for your next provider because they've been the best carrier I have ever used so far.

After several attempts to call Cricket's Outsourced Telemarketing in the Philippines I was appalled at all the staff, laughing in the background, with Joseph the supervisor on the phone to me, all I was trying to get across was that I paid my bill thru bank records on the 15th thru a third party company called True Pay, they (Cricket) never received it and on the 20th of December they (cricket) would cut be off my phone, I had my date brought forward from 16th till 20th just for this third party's payment to go thru, it didn't. Maybe I choose the wrong ad on Google to pay my Cricket bill, didn't have a problem paying the extra $3 for the inconvenience but Is it my fault, it's on Google? Is it my fault that I paid a bill that didn't credit Cricket?
Well I don't feel it is my fault that the telemarketing firm in Philippines has to talk over me and didn't care to listen to me to try and fix this issue, what they did is continue to hang up on me and when I finally got thru I heard about 3 different people laughing in the background, while Joseph the Supervisor was apologizing to me about them laughing at me thinking this is so funny and all ONE BIG JOKE!!! It's Not a Joke when Cricket cuts your phone off 4 days before Christmas, esp. when you have already paid the bill and it went from my bank account. I'm so upset, it's NOT FUNNY! Cricket please get your upper Executive management to call my cell and fix this issue. Thanks. Merry Christmas!

I just want to pay my bill. That is the entire purpose of your company. To take my money in exchange for a service. Guess what. The mobile app doesn't work. The desktop website does not work. Customer Service Phone call does not work. Asked to talk to a real person and I was directed to wait 30 minutes. When I was transferred, I was again told I had to wait another 30 minutes. I have never been so frustrated and will immediately change my service provider. ** Cricket.

Our entire area did not have service for 7 days. This issue was relayed to Cricket by multiple people over the course of the week. When the issue was finally resolved I called customer service to get a refund on my bill. 7 out of 31 days came to roughly $22. They could only credit my account $10 because I didn't call them when my service was disrupted. I didn't call them because I didn't have service and could not make or receive calls for 7 days. I finally accessed wifi 3 days into service disruption and let Cricket know through their text customer service I had already been workout service for 3 days.
They said contact them when my service became available again and they could credit the bill. They miraculously couldn't find the transcript of my chat that detailed the date of my service disruption and only had authority to credit me $10. They argued 1 hour and 20 minutes over the extra $12 and still refused the credit. I was charged money for a service I never received.

I bought my phones and service online on Cricket. I received my phones a couple days later and began the activation process. I am porting two numbers from MetroPCS to Cricket and was told it could take up to two days. Well two days past and I don’t have service with Cricket so I call customer service. They told me there is an issue with porting one of my numbers over. They didn’t provide any resolution to this but advise I go inside a Cricket store for assistance. I go in the next day and the lady was helpful. She called porting department and found out the transfer pin was incorrect on the same line. So I contacted MetroPCS and they provided the same PIN number as my other number since both phone numbers are under the same account. Cricket initiated a case ticket and advise me in two days they will be successfully port my numbers over.
This is where it goes downhill. Two days pass and it’s Saturday. I call Cricket CS and they told me they are working on it and they should be done Sunday by 6pm EST. So I waited patiently until next evening. Lo and behold comes 6:30pm and I still do not have service. I called the Cricket CS and after a hour on hold to find out they need another day to resolve the issue. After pleading with Cricket to escalate the ticket the CS rep put me on the phone with their supervisor. She was very rude and non compliant with any of my concerns since she said it was up to the porting department. I told her I want to speak with a higher up because I feel neglected and not taken seriously of my case. She told me I should do so if I am so upset about it.
On Monday I have not received any callback from Cricket on my case status. I call them to find out the porting department can take up to 7 to 10 business days. At this point I feel hopeless because each time I call they give me the run around and broken promises. I decided to be patient and allow up to the time they said. I call them a couple days later on Wednesday and they said they are initiated the port and waiting for confirmation which should be complete overnight. I was excited because finally some resolution. But again, today I called Cricket because no one in CS or porting department calls me to update me but myself calling. If I had to do it over again, I would just go inside the store and have them set it up. At least they would be much nicer and polite and give me a solid answer instead of the deception and broken promises I receive calling customer service. They couldn’t even give me the number to call the porting department.

Cricket offers a trial period before you sign up/commit. The trial activates with an e-sim HOWEVER when you go activate for real it does not tell you 1. You will lose all service AND telephone number from the free trial or 2. No e-sim as touted on website, you get to have no phone while you wait for something in the mail! Called customer service, sounded like someone shouting at me through a paper towel roll from the moon. This company has made my kid's supposedly awesome bday w a new iPhone an absolute mess. Bottom line is that this cricket deserves to be sprayed with Raid. They suck and we are looking for a new carrier but will be stuck w them for a month because they didn't explain how inconvenient this all was before whacking my credit card!

But our bank has never received a refund from cricket. We've sent screenshots of our brain statement proving that there's no validity behind the accusations and as well to this they shut our phones off and for the past 4 months we've had to pay a $50 activation fee as well. Cricket had a sale advertised on a phone marked down. And it was a really good sale. I called to ask how I can get that sale. And she started telling me I need to not be a customer of AT&T and I will have to add a line. I stopped her and said I’m already a customer. She then proceeded to tell me the deal is only for new customers. I was mad. I don’t understand why they don’t offer deals to us existing customers too??!!! Cricket wants to keep us then they need to do something for us too! Seriously thinking about going elsewhere!!

On 11/23/22 I was in the middle of a phone call and my phone completely lost service. My phone number couldn’t make calls. I couldn’t log into my account. Nobody could call me. The only way I could use my phone was by going to my settings and using my iPhone email address and using instant messaging on FaceTime, I had to be on Wi-Fi. When I went to the Cricket Wireless store, they told me after extensively looking into my account that my number had been illegal. He ported to an account overseas. And there was nothing that they could do.
I still had service on my account until 3 December and they refused to refund my money. They refused to restart service and said that I needed to purchase a new phone because my phone has been hacked, and I had to restart a brand new account and the lady at the counter shrugged his shoulders and said. "Oh well." Cricket Wireless is the worst company I have ever dealt with and now I am left with no phone at all.

I would warn others to not buy the Cricket Wireless plan. My experience with their support has been a nightmare. I've had my service for a little over a month with great coverage and no problems...until I discovered why a lot people I called wouldn't pick up my calls. My caller ID is under someone else name, not mine. I think you can see the problem there. I've spent many hours on both chat and voice support at Cricket. They finally told me there was nothing they could do except to change my number for a fee of $16.00. When your number is changed, it takes days to notify everyone. The thing is, they guarantee your caller ID when you sign up. They do not honor their contracts.

Original Review: I have been a Cricket Wireless customer for many years & have been very happy. I recently had a problem, though, & my opinion has changed drastically. On October 19 I returned a phone I bought & Cricket has confirmed they received it. It is now November 11 & I have not received my refund. Their phone service is very good. However the customer service people bring a 5 star rating down to 2. IF ANYTHING happens to your account where you need to speak with them, you will have the same nightmare I have been having for 2 days: I get ahold of them only after waiting 10 or more minutes on the phone. I get through, explain my situation (in this case a billing problem) and another 10-15 min goes by. They tell me they need to transfer me to someone. I say "Please stay on with me because I have been repeatedly cut off." They say "Okay". They transfer me, cut me off in doing so, and do not call back! THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES over 2 days.
I have literally spent over 3 hours now on the phone with them over 2 days, trying to get my billing corrected! I literally got so angry after 2 hours of calling, waiting, re-calling, re-calling, re-waiting, etc yesterday I had to scream and pound the wall. Not to mention that their constantly repeated commercials and horrible jingle repeat over and over while you are waiting for hours to get your problem solved. In short, Cricket sucks and I am going to have to switch to another carrier now, even though I liked their phone service. Their Customer Service and waits on hold are absolutely unacceptably bad.

Save yourself the frustration. Cricket has gone downhill drastically. We live in South Jersey. The first couple of years the service was pretty decent. The last year the service has been terrible. Overseas tech support are clueless. They just read from a script. We thought maybe we should upgrade our phone. They are charging full price for an iphone to existing customers while giving half price to new customers. How backwards is that thinking? Don't fall for the trap. You will be sorry. We have switched to TMobile which has given us the same rate with enormously better service.

Overall I liked Cricket and have been a customer for years having up to 5 lines with them. However, it takes only 1 very bad experience to make me feel like I have been robbed and look for another option for cellular. So I purchased a 100GB 5g data plan and cellular router which has a 7 day return policy. After 4 days I knew that the plan wouldn't work for me so I opted to return. The return process was 4 phone calls and multiple transfers to finally receive an RA and return shipper with tracking number. After 10 days I hadn't received a refund so I tracked the item to confirm that it was received at Cricket. It was received several days prior. Another 2 phone calls to find out that they needed more time to process the refund.
After checking my statement some 6 weeks later I found still no refund. So now after 3 phone calls and speaking with a manager it is left up to me to find the tracking number that they produced and prove the item was returned 2 months ago. So conveniently for them they delete 30 day old tracking numbers and apparently have no warehouse return records. The manager's solution? I'm to go to UPS and find the tracking number and he'll arrange for a team member to call the following day. UPS keeps records for 30 days. No team member followed up. So without the tracking number that Cricket erased and without warehouse receipt that Cricket lost of I'm out $80 and 3 hours of time. So Tmobile has a similar plan for the same price.

I have never, at any point in my life, receive worse customer service from any person or company. Regretfully, my wife and I switched her phone to a Cricket plan; and only after we switched (and after the store had confirmed that her phone was Cricket-compatible) did their Customer Service inform us that, no, my wife's phone actually wasn't compatible. Their consolation was: "Oh, well, she can *still* use her device! She just can't get service on it." We asked for a refund (since they couldn't give us service on her phone), and they refused, saying, "We can't give you a refund because it's a prepaid service." I asked, "What am I prepaying for if you can't give me service?" They couldn't answer.
We asked if we could speak to a supervisor; and the SAME CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE came on the line, pretended to be the supervisor, repeated the same answers, and said there was no one higher that we could speak to. When I challenged the service representative on this point, the line went silent and that was the end of the call. We went to Cricket while planning a trip to Europe. I was already unhappy with Cricket because the manager told me last year that I had to pay a monthly fee to do wifi calling. At a Cricket store, face to face, two weeks ago, they charged us a fee for service while in Europe and explained to us in detail how it would work. It supposedly covered roaming and, the associate said, included wifi calling. So we downloaded some apps for train and music tickets to our phones.
Well, in Europe, today, we found out that it doesn't work nor does the wifi calling. We cannot download, for example, boarding passes for trains as well as other things. Our car is in the shop and we expected call(s) from the service manager which we will, now, not receive. I contacted Cricket customer service immediately. They got back and said they do not have European roaming and said they would refund the charges (apparently they are set up to charge for things they cannot provide). They also said there is no charge for wifi calling (which doesn't work and never has). They have also offered to "try" to set up an international play (they can't do that they said, but, wait, maybe they can).
This is a logistical and financial nightmare while on a life's dream vacation. Much of the planning was a waste of time and money now and who knows what problems lie ahead for the month overseas. If you have problems with phone carriers, let the FCC, FTC and your state consumer and communication agencies know.

Friday, July 15th, I was told it will be fixed Monday or Tuesday, but I'm not hopeful, and since it has been twelve days already, what I don't understand is why a manager won't just call tech support or engineering and give them a direct order to drop everything and get on this right now and not attend to anything else until this is resolved?
The only answer I can think of as to why not is that the overseas employees who answer Cricket's phones aren't empowered to do much for the customers and neither are their managers. They certainly aren't readily able to contact or cooperate with other departments in the company, especially the ones that are here in the States. So basically it's a company where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, and has no idea how to find out what the right hand is doing. To add insult to injury, every time these people put me on hold, which is often, I am blasted with Spanish-language public relations and marketing messages that I cannot understand.

I've used Cricket Wireless for over a year now. Before this I actually used Metro By T-Mobile. When I compare both cellular companies I actually get better coverage almost where ever I go. Although where I live it's kind of slow sometimes but most of the time I'm able to do most of my things. Usually I need to have internet when I go to work in which cricket does the job. 100% of the time it works for me. When I used Metro where I used to work never gave me any coverage meaning that I had no service. In metro they charged me almost $200 for having three phones in my plan. Whereas in Cricket they charge me $130 a month for 3 phones. I personally think Cricket does a better job when it comes to providing coverage wherever you go. Although it may not be the best to load up YouTube videos and play games it still does a better job in coverage than in metro. Prices a a lot more cheaper for plans but it's a good cellular provider where I live.

I’ve been an Cricket customer for 7-8 years and to say the least, for the past year I’ve been having problems with them. So today was the last straw. I enrolled in bridgepayment service (splitting your total bill into half) On 07/05/2022 and my second payment of $25 was due before 11:59 on that day. I paid it thru the cringiest automated system ever created!!! Which took me 30 mins just to do because the robot didn’t know what to exactly do and kept having me enter my information with other prices that I didn’t Request. Even tried to charge my card $44 instead of the $25!! After wasting so much time yesterday I finally got to the final step of the correct information and BRIDGE PAY ENROLLMENT (that is what the system stated). I was under the impression that it was paid and I received a confirmation number proving that I paid.
Today they cut my service off And Denied a refund!! They was rude and very quiet. I had to keep saying, "Hello are you there?" He accused me of “lying.” He did everything in his power to not cut my service that I paid we before Back on or Atleast give me my money back! After being frustrated I called back and a lady helped me understand what went wrong saying that I should have call them to make my second payment of $25 but it states that you call 611 and extend your bridge pay thru the system. Anyone that has cricket knows exactly what I’m talking about.
She said It would’ve been better to speak with a rep to ensure it was enrolled. I thank her for Atleast trying. She did waive the fee of $40 to cut my service on to $35 but I am broke. I am in school. I’m homeless. I’m tired. Just please do not get this service or pay close attention to where you give your money to. That was my very last. I can’t do much without phone contact and they were very evil in this situation.

I finally cut my losses and found another mobile service with (hopefully) much higher standards and morals. They overcharged me and the ability of this company to reimburse this overcharge seemed to be beyond their ability to correct. And the shop says I must call customer service and customer service says (if you can understand the Indian accents) that they cannot help me, I must call my bank and have them reverse the charges. I call my bank and wait on hold for ONE HOUR only to be told that they can do nothing and I must talk to the company. And around and around we go. And, btw, the phones are bottom of the pile. My advice would be to try and go with a higher class company if at all possible. Cricket is more for homeless people in my humble opinion. This is nothing against the kids that work in the shops. This is more about greed and theft from middle management and up.
I guess AT&T bought this company in 2014. Will be interested to see if they (AT&T Wireless, the one with their name on the building) also uses the lower end of Indie customer service services. Wouldn’t it be nice if these American companies would use English speaking Americans in their customer support?! Bottom line is, the phones and customer service is terrible. If you are using them, keep a close eye on the auto billing. Remember, they have a direct connection to your bank account. And those people seem to have morals somewhat south of the border.

I decided to try again with a different support rep and they had me switch to 3G, which fixed the problem. Another 6 weeks goes by with no problems and all of a sudden I can't get any data or texts. I switch back to LTE and can get data and texts again but can't make calls.
Once again the store was no help and customer support could not figure out problem. The store tried to convince me the device was messed up. I wasn't buying it. I switched to T mobile and everything worked fine on this phone. Why wouldn't Cricket tell their customers that their network doesn't work with S9 LTE. Two days later I paid the remaining balance plus more, like I usually do.
Yet, found out today my phone was off. I supposedly broke the bridge pay agreement. I asked this extremely clueless rep over and over again why this and why that. She could barely answer anything. I even added up the payments for her... simple math, she couldn't understand. Yet she comes back with some figure that doesn't even add up. Supposedly the $15 you pay is supposed to go to your bill...NO! Only $5 goes to it; something they don't tell you. And yet the amount she said I owed...still in no way shape and form made any sense. I'm like are you all now trying to steal money from longtime customers...who you know pay their bills. So now I guess Cricket Wireless has resulted in ripping off their customers. I need my phone. Unfortunately for me, my phone shows to them as having no issues with the change... so I didn't qualify for a new free phone. My phone service promptly stopped working right as soon as my phone bill came out of my account.
I went in, they said I had to PAY for an upgrade. I didn't qualify for a free upgrade because Cricket sees my phone as having no issue with the change. Granted at this point it's been 15 days of PAID nonservice. I pay money for a new phone (That sucks in comparison to my old one), and have been trying to contact customer support since to no avail. Overall I wouldn't even rate this company with a 1 star due to the fact I paid for service that I was not provided, and forced to upgrade my phone to a worse one to regain service, without any "discounts".

I was with Cricket for about ten years, the main reason I went through them is because I’m very close to the Canadian border and would go there frequently and be able to use their service without roaming charges. Well two days ago I lost all service and phone no longer worked. I called and was told my sim was too old and would need to buy a new one. I asked why I wasn’t notified that this would happen. Being a long term customer you’d think we would be notified. Anyway I was told to go to Walmart and buy a new SIM card which I did, and it wouldn’t work. So then after 3 hours on the phone (a half hour of talking) and being put on hold to a ringer for another 45 minutes I just hung up. They were not friendly, and when I said I was going to leave a review and I forgot the guy's name (a Indian name that was hard to pronounce) when I asked for it again he said Joe. So now In order to keep this phone I have to drive 2 hours to a cricket store to get a sim.
Keep in mind I have five phones on this plan. So long story short I would just say screw cricket, and go to Straight talk wireless because there’s a million Walmarts, and cricket customer service is some of the worst I have ever seen. They wouldn’t even reimburse me for the sim they told me to buy, knowing that the only SIM cards that will work have to be purchased in house. A text or email saying your sim is out of date and sending a new one would have stopped all these problems. If I could give them a negative star I would 100%.

Update. I purchased a Galaxy a11 Outright for full price back in August with insurance. Recently they forcefully installed a software update that disabled the phone's antenna. I call them and the stupid voice recognition thing doesn't understand half of what I say, you can't talk to a person anymore. It just sends you in circles then hangs up.
I try using the Cricket support app and they tell me to go to a store. I do and they change out the SIM card and that doesn't work but they charge me for it anyway. So I do a phone claim and apparently they don't carry the a11 anymore so they offer a crappy Moto instead Which I accept since I'm on a fixed budget and it was 40 bucks. After that they cancelled my insurance even tho I'm supposed to have 4 more replacements just because the Galaxy a11 is no longer available. Then they tell me I have to send back my a11 even tho I own it and bought it outright. Otherwise they'll charge me the full value of it. SERIOUSLY **? I BOUGHT IT OUTRIGHT. I'M NOT FINANCING IT. THEY DON'T OWN IT. I DO! But I have no choice. Otherwise I'll be charged for it. Their customer service has gone downhill and I'll be changing providers soon. In Jan '22 I paid online, but the phone was still off, I went to a physical location and paid. Later found out I was charged twice and I disputed one of the payments (I didn't know there was a difference) then my acct get suspended without warning. We had a wonderful Data Plan that we were grandfathered into. 5 lines for $100. Cricket uses every excuse to force a new plan on us. Here is what happened: One person on our plan bought a new phone due to 3G being discontinued. It's not the first time we bought new phones and kept our old plan. But this time around the person who bought a new phone was an ASIAN LADY with little understanding of English. However, she knew enough to just buy a new phone and not change anything else! But once again Cricket used this as an excuse to force a new plan on us.
I tried to call Cricket customer service, but as usual Cricket has a very bad case of the "unusually high call volume" disease. So I had to wait and wait and wait. When I got through to an actual human and explained to him that we want our old plan back and that Cricket should never had changed it. He disconnected me! I was not rude and I stayed on point. I am never rude to the Customer Service representatives, it's not their fault and being rude only makes things worse. Overall, this is the second time Cricket tried to force another plan on us. The first time I went thru hell to get back out old plan and ultimately had to contact outside agencies to get their attention.
The bottom line: The Cricket company is too big to care about the little guy/girl. When calling Cricket take names and be expect to contact at least the Better Business Bureau. Otherwise, you will be in for lots of headaches and very little understanding and cooperation. That is what I will be doing AGAIN.

1. Virtually every Cricket store clerk I've interacted with has told the wrong information or lied about Cricket being the exact same service (speed etc) as AT&T. Cricket bandwidth has always been slower and even deprioritized for AT&T bandwidth during times of congestion. New service may have caught up with their lies, but it's been that way for years.
2. You have to hope you never need to talk to their "foreign-accented" customer service team regarding an issue. All they do is sit there and repeat back what you already know, without addressing your issue. They say they can not fix a billing issue that is already in the system. If the previous agent signed you up to a more expensive plan during the course of fixing an issue, it "can't be reversed". Not matter how much "they" screwed up, they can't go back and fix it. "We can't even get technical support to fix it". Just stupid.
THEY BLOCKED US FROM RECEIVING CALLS...because they "NEEDED TO TALK TO US" about the change over to 5g. We would receive calls and the other person couldn't hear us speaking. There were several urgent calls that did not go through and had to receive an email for the other party to contact us. I finally figured out what was happening and called customer service only to be met with horrendous service trying to arrange for new phones to be ordered. Even after we ordered and received the phones, they still blocked my wife's line because they had talked to me not her, even though it's on the same account and a phone had been order for her. I would put 0 stars if I could. Cricket wireless is a rip-off. I recently had phone issues and used the insurance I had with them. My phone was not charging and was unusable. I was without a phone for 2 weeks. I got a replacement that was broken and dirty. I returned that phone to the insurance company Cricket uses. They wanted to send me another replacement but it would take another week. So I canceled the insurance sent the replacement phone back. I then canceled my service with Cricket.
It just happened to be on the same day they took out my payment on autopay. First I was told they would refund me by 2 different reps and my service was canceled. A week later I called to check the status of my refund and was told they couldn't look it up since I had canceled. They couldn't even tell me the status of my refund or if it was even issued at all. I spoke to 3 reps and they all told me the same thing and assured me I would have no issue getting refunded. That I would have to just go to my bank and just dispute the charges to make sure I get it.
I was so frustrated at this point that I went to my bank and had them dispute the charges back in Dec. Today 2 months later the bank told me Cricket denied the refund. So I basically paid for the month of Dec. I didn't even use one day in Dec of the cell service because one I had no working phone and two I canceled the service for that month. They want people to use autopay even give you a discount. But this is way because they pull your payment anyway and then just refuse to give it back. Cricket Wireless is a scam and they don't value the customers.

I decided against another lengthy commitment and, after some research, decided to give Cricket Wireless a chance. Cricket is a subsidiary of AT&T and having had service with the latter for many years, I knew what to expect as far as coverage, data speeds, etc. I wanted a flagship device which is not something offered by Cricket itself, but since they use the same SOC (System Operator Code, 89014) it is possible to use an AT&T device with Cricket service. I subscribe to the $60/month Unlimited Cricket More plan, using my AT&T Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.
I have used the service for over 6-months now and continually exceed the 22GB usage threshold. Many reviews I have read state that there are maximum download speeds which may be true on other plans, but not the aforementioned. I have never been "throttled" or slowed-down and get consistent LTE download speeds of 100-200Mbps and am able to stream full HD video. I am still in a 4G market as of writing this review but have noticed my phone switching between 4G/5G for the last few weeks and expect that 5G will be deployed soon. This plan is not for someone who is just going to do basic web-surfing, email, social media, etc., but for someone like myself who uses a large amount of mobile data and expects day 30 to be the same as day 1 of the billing cycle, the Unlimited Cricket More Plan is perfect...

Be careful, all stores push their programs, Cricket pushes bundles. I just wanted to buy the Iphone 13 Pro Max and Cricket pushes bundles with items over priced and/or you may not need. Because customers were waiting I felt rushed and I didn't even get a receipt the day of purchase. I went back 3 days later (today) and got a receipt. I wanted to return the bundle items I ended up with. Was informed I would have to come back tomorrow and talk to the person who sold the phone to me.... REALLY????
I think the staff gets commission and this is why they push items on you, even though you don't need them. This is a 2 star rating because of what I feel was dishonest or misled pressure sale to buy extras. BUYER BEWARE! Note: My last Iphone was bought directly from Apple and I would have done the same this time, but last October Apple was out of stock..
Today 12/21/21 I called Cricket, not the store to ask them to unlock my phone due to the previous review and finding a better provider. I paid full price for the phone, no discounts (plus the off brand stuff the store pushed on me) and yet they locked my phone for 6 months. I've been with Cricket for over 5 years and after this treatment I am planning on leaving but have to wait till 3-31-22 because they will NOT unlock my phone even though I received no discounts. This call was brought up to their so called management. I could say more... just do your research and do not buy a phone from them. BUYER BEWARE!!

From not receiving text messages to having the hardly English-speaking telephone representatives hang up on you. This one is a joke and should go out of business in the future!

I have a flip phone that "technology" is going to murder in a couple of months, they keep hijacking my calls to try to get me to sign up for new service. Even if I were going to stay with them I wouldn't now due to this. I have no service 90% of the time, it is more than annoying to have my calls hijacked all the time and I wonder if that is even legal?!?! I won't be staying with them because the reviews on the miserable piece of crap they have for a flip phone say it doesn't work so I am going to MINT MOBILE and the flip phone they recommend. I am not stupid enough for a "smart phone" which is not a phone at all - it is a computer.

My phone got stolen so I asked to suspend the account. I planned to get another phone but before I could police returned my stolen one. So I call to reactivate and I'm told it will cost 120$!!! I was told the account was cancelled not suspended which is their fault not mine!
In addition my account had ebb. I was told I had to do all this reapplying which I did and meanwhile paying $60 per month instead of my ebb rate!!!! I was told they could expedite my ebb. As they know my son is disabled and my dad is in a home. However it has still been two months with absolutely no help. When I call, I'm told lots of lies including they don't have an ebb. department so my plan doesn't qualify and then some. As a result I will be moving to T-Mobile where I can pay $20 a month unlimited for 2 years...I got a great new phone and plenty of extras! I tried to sign up to get a new phone, but it told me that my address was wrong??? I'm not stupid! I know my own address! So, I got on the live chat to solve this. The first person told me to try signing up in incognito mode, so I went through the whole sign up process again, but it didn't work. I sat and waited while he said he would figure it out, but after nearly an hour, he couldn't. I tried again with the same result. So I tried the live chat again.
The 2nd person said that my address wasn't the same as my bank's address, which is absolutely is. He said I should call my bank and ask them what my address is, but I was not about to do that. I'm sure my bank wouldn't give out that kind of info over the phone, anyway!! So then he said I should use a friend's card to set it up. I had already put my own info on their website and was not about to ask a friend to give me all their credit card info. Finally I gave up, even though I REALLY wanted that phone. I signed up with another carrier and the application went through immediately. This was absolutely ridiculous, telling me that I don't know my own freaking address.

My husband and I have been a customer of Cricket Wireless for a couple years now. We had went to pay our bill that is $63 and it was higher than what we had been paying. It said $80. So we went to the local store and asked what changed and why was the bill higher. The lady said it was an error on cricket's part but in order to keep our phones on we had to pay $95. I said, "The automated service said $80. Now you're saying $95." She shrugged her shoulders and said, "All I know is you have to pay $95." So we then left and I once again called the automated service and the robot thing now said I needed to pay $99 so I held for a live agent and asked him why and he said, "Well if you want your phone on you have to pay $105," then he hung up. So I called back and now the robot thing said $135. I was trying from 1pm to 5pm just to get an answer why it went from 60 to 80 dollars then in just a couple hours it went to 135.
I asked repeatedly to speak to a supervisor but each time I was hung up on. Then I'm also told to go to another provider but if I wanted to port my number I'll have to pay $135 so the last time I was hung up on I went to Spectrum and thank God I was able to port mine and my husband's number. I understand we're just 2 people so who cares that they lost just 2 customers, well actually 6 since he told his parents and brother and wife so they also switched but even if it's just 1 customer word travels so I would think cricket would want to at least have people that have manners and are able to answer questions.

I signed up with Cricket in late October. One of my requirements was being able to use my phone in Europe. I asked this specifically & was reassured by store personnel that as long as I bought the international plan, there would be no problem. I needed to replace the phone a few days later, and happy with my experience at the Cricket store, I returned and discussed buying a new phone from them. I asked again about using my phone in Europe. They checked my account & told me that it wouldn't be a problem.
Two weeks later, when I took my phone to Europe, it didn't work, so I called Cricket customer service and was told that after 6 months, I could unlock my phone and use it with a European supplier. I asked to speak to a supervisor & was kept on hold for a 30 minutes while a representative kept coming back on the line to tell me it would be two more minutes. When I spoke to a supervisor, he informed me that Cricket does not have any coverage in Europe, and the international calling is only for calling other countries from North America. In other words, either the people in the store completely misrepresented their products and services, or they had no idea what they were talking about & just wanted to sell stuff, and I am frankly angry about it. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

Best value being when you add it at the beginning of your billing cycle, so I waited till then to check the little box to upgrade. I have auto pay to insure uninterrupted service. My $50.00 monthly payment was automatically made but there was no new charge for the upgrade showing. I received a confirmation number from Cricket that they had received payment in full.
They then suspended my service and now want a $25.00 reactivation fee. When I called and asked why, they said it was because of a lack of funds. I told them they had the wrong information. My bank account shows Cricket was paid in full and there was no shortage of funds, I also received a confirmation number from Cricket showing they had been paid in full. They promptly hung up, I called back and was informed that they had new hours and were not available to help me. My web account has limited access to certain areas till I pay the $25.00 reactivation fee.
I am locked out and unable to resolve this issue at this time. They took my money, then suspended my service so I can not use my phone till I pay them a reactivation fee of $25.00. Hmm not a good deal. They took my money and my phone because I wanted to upgrade my service. I have lost valuable time and money for being cheap and not going with a more reputable company. I just wanted to pay my bill, My credit card changed and I had not updated it before my billing cycle apparently. The Cricket payment system is the most backwards thing I have ever dealt with. They tell you to login on the website or within the app, but those don't work because the service is cut off. When you try to visit the website, it says to login to the website to make a payment which you can't do because you have no service. I tried from a computer and was not able to login to the cricket website as it says "Access to My Account is unavailable. Please call Customer Care".
Calling into the system is completely terrible as well, The automated payment system wants multiple syllable answers and only hears about 15% of your answers. The operators cannot enter your card due to some policy so you are stuck with the automated pile of junk. Then it charges you an additional $4 for processing it through the automated system stating that you can save the additional fee by using their app., Yes, you heard that correctly, The app that does not work when you don't have service. You can use that non-working app to make a payment so they don't charge you an additional $4 for the convenience of you doing all the work to process the payment.
The billing system will not tell you this, but if you try to setup autopay it will fail with some incredibly vague message and bounce you to an operator. The problem is you have to go through the pay my bill system first, then once that is complete (solid 20 minutes most times), then you can hang up, call back and setup autopay (or so I am told).
The level of customer evasion built into this system is off the charts. I have never dealt with such an incompetently designed system. The information the operators have is literally completely incorrect. Everything is designed around logging into the app or website which I am guessing is supposed to work even with suspended service? Well, it doesn't. To be fair I have had this problem with cricket ever since I first setup the account. I have been able to login to the cricket app successfully 2 times. That's it, I use the same username and password and I have never been able to get in again despite resetting passwords, confirmation codes, etc. It always has the call customer service message and the customer service reps always tell me the same thing, Login with the app or to the website.
I realize some may think I am just incapable or something, but I have been a full time computer tech for the last 15 years, I help people with this kind of stuff all of the time, anything from account lockouts to this kind of crap. This was on my own personal account and this was by far the most frustrating and time consuming thing I have had to deal with just to simply make a payment and get charged a fee for making said payment. The next best solution would be to drive to a kiosk about 50 miles away, The reps a the kiosk are very competent and capable if you can make it in during the hours they are open. This was enough of a push for me to look into changing service providers.

I had talked to a representative online about switching to Cricket and had it all figured out. Well I went to your store on East Tx St in Bossier City, LA 71111 and 1st of all I walk in and see no one and lights are off in the back. Then this kid comes from the back dragging along, eyes all red like he had been sleeping & parks it on a stool. I try to tell him what I want to do and what the rep online had told me and he just shuts me down and says, "We don't offer service like that." That my number isn't a big enough company to switch over. I'm disabled with a TBI, fractured back & neck, cognitive & motor skills are terrible, nerve damage and both knees need replacing & I could have done a much better job than he did. It was the worst service ever.
All I wanted to do was move my number so I could get a device wide and big enough for me to type on. I struggle with every form, texts, notes, etc... each and every day. I just wanted some help and he was of no service. He acted like he hated being at the job. At this point I wouldn't recommended Cricket to anyone. Not even someone I dislike. I can't believe that within 30 min time that I talked to 1 person super friendly & super helpful, so I go up to store immediately to a super rude and super disrespectful kid who did not once get off the stool after waking from his nap. UNBELIEVABLE.

I called to ask how much hot spot data I still had left because the app was down for days. The two people I spoke to were beyond rude. They refused to answer my question and we're so worried about their app not working. They even told me that it was my problem that the app was down and that I had to fix it. I will be changing to a new carrier this weekend. Hope Laurel and Hardy are put in their place for their lackluster customer service.

I was on a Bridge Pay (which I’ve done quite a few times before). You pay 1/2 your bill then half in one week. You’ll get a reminder 2 days before and it asks you to make payment before midnight. Which I did and I’ve done 2 times before (I have the bank statement to prove it) and went to use my phone the next morning to make arrangements for my child to that I buried the day before. My phone was off and they wanted an additional $60 to turn it back on? Are you kidding me? So I called and told them, "Wtf?" They told me since I didn’t pay it CENTRAL time? Nothing you can do? Because I live MOUNTAIN time. Why would I even think of making sure my payment is made in another time zone? Seriously?
I was an 28 minutes off from paying and I literally barely have enough for my child’s headstone? You want an additional $60 even though I’ve been a paying customer for over 5 years? There is SOMETHING they could’ve done. They are lazy, heartless, criminals that don’t give a **. Congrats! You just lost a customer and I will be making sure to make this same review EVERYWHERE cause what a ** joke this company is. Also? I was told every year you’re with Cricket they will give you a free phone upgrade. Went to get my upgrade and they did. I have to pay for it. Yeah… Screw these guys.

Had Cricket for 12 yrs. They upgraded their service & required I get new phone for $80.00. NEW phone--had to yell in phone to be heard & it would not hold charge. Customer Service repair NEVER called me back! Asked for transfer code for changing service provider & given WRONG code...it was a phone #. Had to challenge monthly service charge thru MY bank. Returned Cricket phone & charged restock fee for an inoperative phone! They did not offer a replacement phone! On WAIT on call with Cricket for over an hour! Got smart & changed service provider & new phone ONLY cost $35.00. Any wise person would not use Cricket Wireless. Had to give one star b/c review does not have ZERO star option.

We’ve been with Cricket for a while and it was really good at first. Now it’s been running extremely slow and most times it seems like we have no internet at all because nothing loads and there’s just error pop ups. I’ve called to get help and they always just have the one solution of restarting the device and at first it helps for a few hours and later is the same problem. I’m just tired of calling and going in store to get help and end up getting the same excuse that they don’t have any other way of fixing the problem.

The sales rep said that with the $60 plan there was a promotion for free 1 year Sam's Club. I was going to received a code. Never received it. Then got in touch with customer servicer. They gave me the run around and blamed sams club, they were supposed to give me a code. Cricket said they (cricket) would help me resolve the issue by sending me text messages/email with the code. Never received it. Had the service for months and never received it.

DO NOT GO WITH CRICKET! I purchased a SIM kit and $25 Cricket refill card. I immediately tried to activate it online, but there was no option for a $25 plan, only $30 and up. I called Cricket's customer service to activate, and a representative said that Cricket no longer have a $25 plan, even though I had only just purchased it. The representative said he was unable to activate it over the call, and suggested that I go back online, try to enter the refill card code, and ALSO add my credit card to pay the additional $5 to obtain the $30 plan. I did as recommended, chose the $30 plan, added the refill card, and my credit card details. Cricket charged my credit card for the entire $30 amount.
As recommended by another Cricket rep, I tried to return the - now scratched off - refill card to place I purchased it, and they refused a refund because the barcode scan said it was showing as activated. They told me it was out of their hands and to go back to Cricket. I called Cricket, and was on the phone with a rep for one and half hours. I also noted that the $25 refill card was never even applied to my account. I was told there was nothing they could do, except to credit my Cricket account (or my partner's) for the additional $25. I told them I was not interested, at this point, in spending $55 when I only purchased a $25 plan, and requested they please just refund the difference on my credit card.
The Cricket representative escalated the situation to a case #, and told me he would call me 3 days later, at a specific time, with a solution. Only a few hours later, I received another call from a different rep., who refused point blank that it was their problem and that I should just dispute the charge with my bank. Needless to say, I will NEVER go with Cricket again, and I have transferred my number immediately to another carrier. Additionally, we have also cancelled my partner's phone and will never recommend them. DO NOT GO WITH CRICKET! There are so many more carriers to choose from with better customer service, much better coverage, and business ethics. (I'd like to add that one representative called 'Joyley' tried his absolute best to help me, although you could tell he was just bound by terrible company policies).

I was a Cricket Wireless customer since 2016 and purchased a phone on the Cricket Wireless website on 7/1/2021. The phone arrived and my credit card was charged on 7/2/2021. I did not like the phone and contacted Cricket Wireless for a Return Authorization (RA) label. I received the RA label via email on 7/8/2021 and returned the phone at UPS on 7/9/2021 as directed by Paul in Cricket Wireless Warranty. The UPS tracking number shows the phone was delivered to Cricket Wireless on 7/13/2021. I spoke to Paul and he confirmed receipt on 7/14/2021. He said I would receive my refund back to my Visa in 7 - 10 business days.
On 7/28/21, I still had not received my refund so I called Cricket Wireless again and after waiting on hold for over 40 minutes again, I finally spoke with Paul who said I would have to contact corporate about my refund and I would have to call 855-246-2461 again and ask to escalate to corporate for he could not transfer me or help me. On 8/5/2021 I filed a dispute for the Cricket Wireless charge with Visa and provided the RA number and the UPS tracking number. I also filed a dispute with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and provided the same information. On 8/26/2021, I received a call from Edward at Cricket Wireless apologizing and advised that Cricket Wireless will be placing a refund back to the credit card on file and he confirmed my credit card number.
On 8/30/2021, I received an email from the BBB with a response from Edward M. stating the same thing and asking if the issue was resolve. I responded that the issue was not resolved because I still had not received my refund and was continuing to received false information and being inconvenienced. I then called Edward M. and left a message requesting a status. On 9/8/2021, Edward M. returned my call and advised that Cricket Wireless Finance had denied my refund because they said my order was cancelled on 7/1/2021. This is very weird because I received the phone on 7/2/2021, my credit card was charged and there is no refund. Then I contacted Visa on 9/9/2021 and was told AT&T responded to my dispute declining my request for a refund.
The AT&T response shows the phone was delivered to me on 7/2/2021, but does not show that the phone was returned and no reference to the RA and the UPS tracking that shows it was returned. This is terrible customer service. After 5 years of being a Cricket Wireless customer I have cancelled my service due to the horrible service. DO NOT BUY Cricket Wireless.

I have had several experiences with Cricket, where I was promised a promotion that they did not deliver. When I called to alert them that they did not fulfill their promise, I was told there was nothing they could do. I would not recommend choosing this company, for their promotional promises or ability to satisfy their customers.

After being gone from my residence for a couple weeks due to Domestic Tranquility issues and not having my phone with me. Rex, in the Fairmont shop, was a Magician. He was able to recover approx 90% of the apps I had been using. Like everyone else, my world was in my phone. Finances, contacts, my Calendar, etc. He was able to recover most of the data. At least enough for me to work with. I just happened to go to the Cricket shop when Rex was working. I don't believe anyone else would have been as understanding, willing to help, and compassionate given my situation. I would highly recommend this local Cricket Shop to anyone who needs help with a new phone or retrieving lost data due to whatever reason. Rex will be my "Go to" guy from now on!!!

We have been loyal Cricket customers for years. My son's phone stopped charging when he went away to college. 5 days without a phone I find that the warranty was voided by the liquid glass cricket put on the phone when purchased and the extended coverage we paid for monthly wouldn't cover replacement and we'd have to pay a deductible when we had the phone back from cricket. Spent over 9 hours on the phone to get that far.

Cricket has great service and great prices. Extra high speed data is cheap to get and mobile hotspot is only $10 more. I get all of the advantages of AT&T without the price. I've seen a customer for about 10 years and I wouldn't dream of switching!

Cricket has upgraded along the years and I’m very pleased with this company. I’ve had Cricket for about 10 years and have been around others who were with other popular phone companies whose phone was not getting service in certain areas while my phone was still getting connection. I have seen this happen many time and was proud to say that my carrier is Cricket. I have and would definitely recommend it to others because of my experience. I’ve seen it for myself!! For whatever it’s worth, I would do it again!!
