I barely got two new phones in their promotional plan 80 for two lines unlimited so they said. First issue I went back two days because mine and my son's phone kept shutting the windows we were viewing or taking a while to load. I swear when I get there it didn't act up. They were looking at me like I'm lying and don't have nothing to do. So they said it has to act up in front of them. And I only had three days to return a defective phone. Came home. It started doing good until data ran out... Yes come to find out it was not unlimited data. And it started acting up. If I play Youtube it stops after 1 min. I gotta keep pushing play. Then if I'm viewing something online it shuts the window out within seconds. This is two weeks later. If I'm on a call it keeps hanging up. So I'm thinking ok I guess because the data ran out they gonna hang up my calls so I can add more. I will not.

They gave me a damn defective phone mine and my son. They already got our damn money by falsely saying it's unlimited. The three day window period is over so no luck for me on a phone. I will be switching back to MetroPCS soon or some other company. I already read several reviews that others as well have problems with phones acting this way. I know exactly what it is because I work in cell phone repair industry. Since several people have had the same problem with phones it comes down to one conclusion. They have their phones do that so you can go buy a new one. Which I will not. I thought Cricket would provide better service but their phone sales are bad. Defective ** phones. I am furious I switch from Metro to Cricket and get this.

I was looking for a new phone with hotspot capabilities. In February I purchased the LG Harmony. Cricket website describes that the LG Harmony is hotspot capable. After receiving the phone I went online to try to activate the hotspot. I was unable to do it myself so I contacted Cricket for their assistance. They informed me that my phone was not hotspot capable. I informed them that the description stated that it was and still to this day states that it is. They informed me that there was nothing they could do. It was suggested that I purchased a new phone and I could get the list of capable phones off their website. So after spending the money on the phone that was described to me as hotspot capable I am stuck with a phone that I cannot activate as a hotspot phone. It doesn't matter if I pay extra or not. It is unavailable to do.

I called Cricket back. I informed the attendant that I was recording the phone call and I asked them if there was any way that I could do something about this phone. Explain the situation that happened in February. The man name John said that this was not a problem. He will set it up for me. He informed me that sometimes during this process we would be cut off but not to worry. He will call me back. He even stated what phone number that he would call me back on. It was correct. Unsurprisingly we just happened to get disconnected. After waiting an hour I called back to see if the process could be continued. And unsurprisingly again I was given completely different information.

Everything that John told me I was informed was incorrect. When I told the second attendant that I had recorded everything John told me I was basically informed it didn't matter that it was wrong information and he didn't even apologize of everything that I had been through. Again suggested to go online and research the list of compatible phones and purchase another one. So I am still stuck with a phone that in the description stated it was hotspot capable but can't be activated.

I left the US to Europe for 2 months. Unfortunately my phone was stolen from the Miami Airport. Since I can not dial a toll free number from Europe I have tried calling local stores asking for help and everyone has been very rude specially the Manager at the Merritt Island office. I'm trying not to lose my number and the only way is continuing making payments. They don't have a way to contact them if you are out of the US and have to deal with the frustration and runless.

We have two Samsung AMP 2 phones, and they have been defective since we got them in 2016 to where we have had to have them replaced 4 times. This last time we said, "Forget it. We deal with it." The phones act like they are being controlled remotely. It's very odd how it can be doing things and as soon as I get off of live chat where they say "nothing is wrong with it" all of a sudden it stops doing what it was doing. This last time my AMP 2 was charging up in the middle of the night. I woke up to shattered glass on the phone. The chips were actually coming OFF the phone. 1 FOOT from my head!!!

Cricket says "Sorry nothing we can do about it. You got no insurance," even though we did pay for insurance. THEN I get told by a live agent..."We are not responsible for Damage." I said, "Excuse me? It SHATTERED while it was charging. YOU are responsible..." I keep getting the runaround. They don't mind giving NEW people phones free but they won't replace MINE. IT'S BS!! And it NEEDS TO STOP!!!!

Switched to Cricket, and Alcatel phone purchased from Cricket had numerous advertising and unnecessary apps that could not be deleted. These apps had constant pop-ups and false "warnings" as notices to download other apps. Customer service tried to help delete them without success, and finally reset the phone. The apps were gone for a few minutes, then came back after the phone automatically synced up with Cricket. Even the built-in calculator had an ad. Quit Cricket after a month. Stuck with the Alcatel phone. So glad to go back to MetroPCS and a Samsung phone that allowed all the initial bloatware and ads to be removed.

When we 1st got Cricket Wireless they told us they don't charge you fees for anything. We had been with them since 2013. Bought new phones in 2015. They told us, "buy them online you won't be charged a fee". I went to buy a phone online this year and they wanted to charge us a $25 fee plus the money for the phone plus we would have to pay our bill. You can change your plan at any time without paying a fee. We changed our plan this year 2018 and they charged us a fee. Every time I turn around they charge us a fee for something.

When I signed up for Cricket back in December one of my PRIORITIES was a hotspot. I communicated this to the sales associate and he guaranteed me that it would be included. Fast forward 4 months later when my phone gets disconnected, while I was traveling with my young children, even though my service was prepaid for another 2 weeks. Their reasoning, I was violating their terms by using my hotspot. And as I have seen in above reviews, no one in customer service speaks understandable English and there was NO time during my conversation when they seemed concerned about my business.

It is no wonder we end up with Verizon as a monopoly. Anyways, after a couple of very frustrating 1/2 hour phone calls, they tell me that neither of my phones (including one I bought from Cricket because I was told it was comparable with hotspot) was eligible for hotspot service. Now I am STUCK waiting for my 6 months of service to unlock my one phone... and in the meantime I have NO hotspot. In addition, since I've had my service turned back on my "high speed, 4g, unlimited" service is not functioning. I will be waiting for the class action for this.

So it's been 20 days. Have had to service I try. Came from another carrier Transformer lines over to Cricket Wireless. Since day one the store that help me out located in Santa Ana California in the shopping center of Bristol and McFadden. The associate goes by the name of Brenda. She clearly gave me a horrible service. One of the worst I've had in my life. I was previously running retail stores and I know what a consumer is for a business. I'm a business owner myself and the first thing I value is my people who is under my responsibility and of course my consumer for this reason escalating this review sayings customer support from Cricket Wireless was unable to help me and the store was unable to help me as well.

It's not a big thing. It's not a oh my God. I'm going to lose a billion dollars because it's not and it's not about the money. It's about the value. It's about you promise something you must comply especially 3 consumers. I was promised and I was given a certain plan which I was told very different of what customer support is telling me. For this reason I'm continuing with this review and I hope that Cricket Wireless president or CEO gets this message and that's the reason they're only a one point five star reviews of service and they ain't going to go anymore unless they changed the whole infrastructure all the way from associates from training to customer support.

They maybe have they might have a different policies and other carriers but so far they're the worst so here's my case. All I ask when it comes to network especially in Wireless I know it like the back of my hand. I know when a associate mentions its unlimited internet and they wash their hands off when a customer comes complaining that they were told unlimited internet because they respond as an associate. It's going to say, "Yes we are offering unlimited internet. We just didn't told you if it was going to be for G LTE Unlimited." But this is my case. I was promised unlimited 4G LTE. All they have to do is go back on my account with my two lines change the plan and credit me as the consumer for their mistake. No more than $10 that I would not mind paying those $10 of difference but the way I was treated the way I was given the options without being helped is the with its why it's a reason I'm declining and I don't want to pay that difference.

If I was told, "Yes. I'm going to help you. Yes. Imma do this for you. Yes. I'm going to take care of you. Yes. Don't worry about it. Yes. You don't have to go back to the store because that's what they're doing to the retail store so they had they just have us back and forth." I know it's not your mistake so you won't have to worry about it... I know when a associate mentions it's unlimited internet and they wash their hands off. Damn service. Not even using microphone for text works. This is not all of what I said...

Also their customer service is a complete joke, no one speaks English very well, they don’t understand you and the customer is always wrong and they will not accept any responsibility for the problems you are having with THEIR service. Their billing is ridiculous and they had a reward system which has now been taken away with very little notice and I lost all my points which were not many because there were not many ways to collect them. Do yourself a favor and stay away. I too will be leaving this carrier. Don't believe they will survive much longer.

I went to Cricket on March 6th to get a phone. The phone I wanted, the one they advertised was out of stock so I got a less popular brand which died the next day. I called the store and corporate and they said as long as I returned the phone within seven days it would be no problem. I brought the phone back in six and they had no phones in stock. I returned after twelve days and they said I waited too long. So I went to Metro PCS and got a better plan with a free phone. I never liked crickets and now I hate Cricket Wireless.

I just bought the Samsung Galaxy S8 from Cricket on Monday 3/19/2018 for $350 on sale brand new and received it through the mail on Thursday 3/22/2018. When I turned the phone it seemed like everything was fine but I noticed that every five minutes the phone reboots itself. I tried to factory reset the phone and that didn't work. I proceeded to call Cricket to send this broken phone back so that I could get another new one that worked. The warranty and customer service section said I have two options to either accept a full refund or they can send me a refurbished phone. I don't understand why I should be getting a refurbished phone when I paid the sales price for a new S8. I can't get into touch with any manager and just keep getting pushed around. This is extremely unprofessional for such a simple solution.

I started using Cricket about 2 years ago. At first I started out with just one line and a month later I added 2 more lines. I started to notice that I wasn’t getting reliable service in my home and after a lot of calls being missed and not receiving text messages I switched my number over to AT&T which I know is their sister company. Left the other 2 lines with Cricket for the main reason wanted to see if there was any difference with AT&T. Service was a little better. Started researching a little more and discovered that Boost had some amazing deals and was A WHOLE LOT cheaper with their family plans. With Cricket and AT&T I was paying over $175 for 3 phone lines.

I switched 2 lines over from Cricket to Boost and immediately noticed that the service, customer service, and the price was unbelievable. I went today to switch over my last line from Cricket to Boost and let me say (on Cricket's end) it was a complete nightmare!!! I was on the phone for over an hour refusing to pay them another $55 just so I can transfer a simple 10 digit number. The service had gotten so bad that it 911 needed to be called from that one line ya you wouldn’t be able to due to the service being so bad. The customer service is awful. The plans are awful and the coverage is awful! I would strongly suggest do not use Cricket. Yes at the time it might seem like a good idea but honestly it’s a rip-off and a huge headache in the end.

My wife and I have had Cricket for nearly 4 years. Everything was fine, until a few months ago... All of a sudden at random parts of the day usually evening/night my wife, and myself can't receive calls, or text messages for hours at a time (usually 3-6 hours). It's almost as if the network is completely down, and at first I thought it was. We have our own business and travel all throughout the country for work for months at a time. This issue started in Nevada, and since has remained an issue in 7 different states, and at first was not a big issue at all, hardly ever happened, but now it is every day.

When talking to other friends and family who have Cricket we're not the only ones with these problems!! When the network does come back, I receive sometimes 15-20 text messages all at once. Customer service is next to useless/clueless. They're often very hard to understand, and hardly able to speak English at all. Each time I've spoke to customer service, they're not only uneducated, lack common sense, and completely unaware of basic network fundamentals, they blame the phone. Another time they said it was because my wife's phone and my phone were connected to two separate cell towers, and therefore were unable to communicate correctly. I didn't know what else to do but to throw my arms up in complete and utter exhaustion and frustration, in complete shock that this was the response from customer service.

They also recommended we just buy new phones (we had ZTE's at the time, also a bad decision), so we did one better, and I recommend anyone purchasing a phone on a Cricket network do this. My wife and I went to Best Buy and actually purchased phones we wanted, UNLOCKED (so that when Cricket's customer service solution of purchasing new phones didn't solve our issues, we could leave the network without eating the cost of a Cricket phone that wouldn't work on any other network. We could just take our new unlocked phones with us).

Well Cricket's solution did not work, it's not the phones, it's their network, or lack thereof. My wife and I will be leaving Cricket and be going back to Verizon. You pay more, but their network actually works and is extremely reliable, their customer service is actually competent, and when there are issues their first solution isn't just giving them more money. Do yourselves a big favor folks, stay away from Cricket, Boost, Metro, etc... I've had every single major prepaid carrier and every single one of them ends up being complete garbage after the first few months. Pay the extra money and go with a real carrier, it is more, but it works. You get what you pay for holds up in this case.

Absolutely disgusted. I tried to purchase a hotspot for my phone a couple weeks ago. I made a 10 dollar payment online because that was the requirement to start the service. I had to call the company to find out why the purchase wasn't allowing the hotspot to work. Turns out my phone wasn't compatible. I was slightly upset about this but the guy offered to refund my money back to my card. I originally told the guy just to leave it on my account. But before the end of the call I told him that I'd changed my mind as I'm fed up with their service and will be going to a different company at the end of my billing cycle, and he said that was fine. As it turns out he never refunded my card and only documented the part of the call where I said to credit my 10 dollars. After the call I assumed the money would be back on my card. Well it's not there and as of yesterday I left Cricket and went to MetroPCS.

The money wasn't put on my card and when I called in to tell them I'd like my 10 dollars back she refused me telling me there is no way to refund my money even if it is an error on their behalf because the guy only documented the part of the conversation when I said to credit the money for my bill and not the part when I changed my mind. I will never go back to Cricket again and I will do everything in my power to get my money back. I don't understand how any company can refuse you your money that you paid for a service not being used. Especially the fact that the guy only documented part of the conversation. It's my money and it's not a contract but they don't have to pay me back? Never again!!!

I called Cricket Wireless to check if my phones would transfer to Cricket from Metro PCS. I was assured that they were transferable by their online representative. I then purchased two SIM cards in two months of service from Cricket Wireless. And when I went to activate them there was nothing. I called Cricket back and I was told my phones are not transferable to Cricket. I was told that I would not get a refund because they do not give refunds for purchases made through Cricket Wireless. So they refused to give me my money back for a product I did not receive. I think that is wrong.

Someone needs to be held accountable for the crap Cricket is doing to people. There is not much that little person can do other than what I am doing file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, and consumer. Now I have to hope that my bank will do a chargeback for the money Cricket stole from me and wait till 45 days to possibly receive my bunny back. How is this legal. How does Cricket take money from consumers provide no product and no return.? That is a rip-off. Am I right?

If you pay for any international minutes to other countries at the end of your cycle your whole account will shut off and you will not have phone service until you call customer service and pay the $15 it takes to have 70 international minutes. After that you still won't be able to have those full 70 minutes of talk because whatever you used before the end of the cycle is what you got whether it was 30 or even 5 minutes. THEY WILL NOT give you those minutes you paid for because it was at the end of your cycle. Plus your phone service in the USA got cut off even though you paid it 2 days ago. Then they will hit you up with another $3 fee and not even inform you of the fee until they processed it and won't give it back to you until the next billing cycle. The fee by the way is for calling them to fix it rather than using the automated system. They may be cheap phone service but they suck at customer service and giving you what you paid for.

I asked the rep to try to charge the phone (the phone was less than 1 month old) and see if that was the problem. He wouldn't even attempt, stating that if you use a different charger on your phone than the one it came with "it messes with the motherboard which destroys your phone".

He then informed me that my phone was "a disposable phone", which the sales rep at the time I bought the phone advised me "we don't carry disposable phones". I was so frustrated that I said "I will just buy the same phone again"... The rep then charged me an UPGRADE FEE. What?? On a disposable phone that he said it was??? Crooked Cricket...NEVER AGAIN!!! I had a $40 phone, that I loved that worked great, that is until 2 Cricket reps got ahold of it, long story short I was told Cricket would NOT replace the phone they destroyed due to stupidity and negligence. 6 months went by, during that time I was denied 3 upgrades due to their bait and switch tactics, they display $100 and under phones, but only sell $100 and up phones... I even had one rep laugh at me and turn her back on me. Another person who claimed to be from corporate, a search of his number proved he was not. Landline nowhere near the corporate offices...listed as a residence.

This Einstein told me if I paid $100 for a phone it would last 100 years. I told him about a woman who paid $600 and her phone stopped working 6 months later, yes Cricket refused to make it right. Cricket wanted me to pay $375 to keep their service, my roommates and I instead went to Metro PCS and paid a little over $150. Our $160 phones were free. 160 per phone we needed 3...so all we paid was $90 for our service plus taxes and fees. Btw the final straw came when my sister tried for nearly 2 weeks to call and text me about our mother, I found out two days before her funeral that she died. Good riddance to a rubbish carrier.

I was somewhat gratified to see how many others are as pissed off as I am at Cricket's "customer service" department. What a nightmare. For the past several days I've been trying to reach Directory Assistance in another state, but when I dialed 411 I got a recording saying "the service you dialed isn't currently available". So I dialed "0". Same message. Then, extremely reluctantly, I called 611. Like others who have posted, I reached someone whose first language is NOT English. So frustrating.

After I explained my problem, he actually asked me which number I was trying to reach. I said that I was trying to reach Directory Assist. because I DIDN'T HAVE A NUMBER! He gave me an 800 number for Directory Assist. which I called. It's all automated and it didn't understand the last name I was giving it. I called 611 again, re-explained my problem and tried, once again, to explain what the hell I was trying to do. I finally asked if I could speak with someone whose first language was English and he argued that he WAS speaking English. I wound up hanging up on him.

The next day I actually went to my local Cricket store and they told me I should be able to dial 411 (I wanted to reach a live person). She even dialed it from their own personal Cricket phone and got through just fine. Then she said that I'd have to, shudder, call Customer Service because there was no reason I shouldn't be able to get through. I went home and called C/S again and they again insisted on giving me the 800 number and said there was an option to speak to a live person. So I hung up and tried it again. Well that was a lie - there is no option for a live person or I would have opted for that in the first damn place! Cricket and Metro PCS seemed to be about the same ratings-wise and price. I ultimately went with Cricket because I had read about their phone recycle program which Metro did not have. The two guys at the store I went to were great. I ended up spending an hour there. Much longer than I had anticipated. I had no issues on that end. However, when I looked at my bill, it showed that the amount due was the 8th of March even though I got the phone on the 9th of February. The built-in application made it seem simple to change the due date. All I needed to do was move the day one forward. I tried doing it through chat but I was told to do it via the phone.

I called the phone number, bypassed the option to speak Spanish and got someone who had a thick accent and apparently did not understand English too well. It also sounded like she was chewing gum. She told me they were unable to move the due date and I would be dropped from the program and suggested I try another program. All I wanted was to move it from the 8th to the 9th. How was that so difficult? I couldn't understand all that she was saying and got annoyed. I mean I only signed up because of the reviews. I could have easily gone with Metro. I said "Thank you" and hung up. However since then, I have been getting multiple text messages from Cricket in Spanish. My call with them ended at 1:20 and I have gotten over fifteen messages in the span of four minutes telling me it is not necessary to respond. This seems like spam to me.

According to the Ralph the c.s. supervisor he is now the person who signs everyone's paychecks at Cricket. He refused to let me speak with anyone else above him, stating he was the highest. So I asked him if he signed the paychecks because if not then there is someone else I can speak with. Then of course crickets... He disconnected the call. Signed up for new service and order was cancelled because Cricket won't take symbols in the address that matches credit card billing and they won't take orders over the phone and told me to use a different card or try it again after they just took out 409.00 for a new phone and service that I now will have to wait to get credited back to me. I was told by the supervisor because of my address that I would not be able to ever have service with them unless I change my address. I just want my money back and never deal with them again.

I was with Cricket for nearly a year and up until a couple days ago I had nothing bad to say about them. Now I have canceled my service and am selling my phone. I needed a new phone because my old phone would not receive phone calls in my basement, yes it was a software issue and not an issue with service.

I went into a physical Cricket store near me and was wanting to look at the LG Stylo 3. They had a replica on display, it was a dummy phone that I couldn't actually test out before I bought it. I went online and the reviews for the phone were phenomenal so I decided to go with it. When I got back home to check out my new phone I liked some things about it but there were a few things that I couldn't live with for the next 2 years which is how long I typically keep my phones. It was a "cheaper" phone so I wasn't sure what to expect.

So I wanted to upgrade my phone, I wanted a better camera, sound, screen, etc. Than the Stylo 3 had and something I was used to. Don't get me wrong the Stylo 3 was nice. So I decided to return the phone a day later. Upon returning the phone I was told that I would be charged a $25 dollar restocking fee which was not listed on the return policy posted on the checkout counter... What was posted was a policy of being able to return merchandise within 7 days if returned in like new condition. The lady said that it was printed on the back of the receipt that was printed out after I had already purchased the phone. Now this one I was not really upset about even though it seemed unethical. She then tells me my total that would be refunded to my card and it was $50 less than what I had paid a day earlier.

I asked her about it and she said that I was charged an "upgrade" fee and it was non-refundable. I told her that that didn't seem right as in ethical, and she assured me that it was a policy set by corporate. Mind you, I actually downgraded my phone. Now I know $50 dollars isn't a lot of money, especially for Cricket Wireless after taking in all that dough from unethical business practices, but it was the idea that I wanted to continue service with them and change phones and was hit with unnecessary fees. I called Cricket and they said that it was non-refundable. So now I'm voicing my opinion. I understand that fees may be necessary but I think $50 dollars is a little absurd especially on my $130 phone.

In December 2017 I left Verizon Wireless due to billing and service problems. A friend of mine recommended Cricket wireless and after talking to a few more of my friends and how they love the service I decided to go with Cricket. When I signed up I had to buy a phone from Cricket because I still owed money on my Verizon phone. So I bought a phone for 10.00 because I knew as soon as my Verizon phone was paid off I was going to put on my Cricket service. Upon signing up with Cricket I told them what I was going to do with the phones. They told me that it wouldn't be any problem. Well that was a big lie.

A week ago I switched phones on my account so that left me with my 10.00 phone I purchased from their company. Thinking that since I paid for the phone it is mine to use however I wanted to. Well that was not the case. Yesterday I tried to put the 10.00 phone on my friend's TracFone account because she wanted to upgrade her phone and since I had this extra phone I didn't see why she couldn't use it. Well to find out the phone is locked I cannot use it for any other provider except Cricket Wireless even though it is paid for. I spoke to four different managers. Well at least that is what they told me but they all was foreign so who's to say, with one Cricket wireless company and I got from them telling me I have to have my account for 6 months before they could unlock my phone.

Then they read the terms and conditions and policies to me. So I got another Cricket phone number. The company is located in Georgia and I spoke to a customer service and she told me the same thing. I could not get the unlock pin until I been on my service plan for 6 months. So after arguing with her and listening her reading the policies and terms and conditions to me over and over I asked speak to a manager. Oh dont let me forget the woman said she could not bend the policies because she would lose her job.

I told her, "As a customer service person you should lose your job for not helping your customer and trying to keep your customer happy." After she put her supervisor on and again I was read the terms and conditions and the policies. And on top of that I was told that the 10.00 phone has to be on my account for 6 months for it to be unlocked.

My reply was, "I have a 600.00 phone which is better than the 10.00 phone and I was told upon signing up with your company I could use my Verizon phone with no problem. Now you're telling me I have to use the phone I bought from your company for 6 months to have it unlocked and leave my 600.00 phone lay around and not use it" and her reply is yes. I told her that I was going back to Verizon. At least they will work with their customers and help them and her reply was, "Well am sorry but that is your choice. There is nothing I can do for you." So again she read the terms and conditions and policies to me again. Their Customer service sucks as well. They are liars.

All I wanted them to do was send another phone. They said it was a warranty problem. Ha. They broke my phone and I'm so mad. Refused to give me last names. All were overseas phone calls. Then he said I knew the phone would break if I followed the techs instructions and I had no insurance. He said that with no insurance he could not help that the tech broke the phone. My first experience switching to cricket from Boost Mobile the young lady charged me 25.00 more for something I didn't buy. My husband and I have 2 phones. We were switching to the 80.00 plan. The girl told me she couldn't give me change back because her manager wasn't available so I would have to pick an accessory for my phone for 25.00. After a brief argument, I asked her to credit my account. Again she couldn't because her manager wasn't there. Yet she was texting back and forth with her manager.

Finally after an hour of my time she said ok. No record of this was kept. I asked her to write it on my receipt in case she wasn't there the following day due to being fired. Quit. Etc. I asked if she could sign it after she wrote it. Because anyone could write it. She argued that her name was on the receipt. Not acceptable. End result I did get credited. 2nd month paid. Young man was great. 3rd payment north Armenia girl was too busy texting to give me her attention while trying to take my contact info and money. I had to ask for verification on my account to make sure it was actually my account. I gave her 85.00. My bill was 79.50. 3 dollar service fee for paying my bill. She gave me 2.00 back.

I asked, "What was the payment again?" She replied, "I don't have change in my drawer so I didn't give you your .49 cents back". I said, "Can it be credited to my account then?" She replied replied, "Oh? My manager isn't here. When she gets back I'll ask her". What's going on with Cricket? They keep taking my money. No respect. I am ready to give Cricket a big HORRIBLE review & switch back to boost where they are more professional. Cricket seems to not care about their customers. They continue to take money from me and it's getting tiresome

Their reps often state nothing is wrong but one stated the towers are deteriorating and would work on fixing the problem. Days passed I am still with the same problem. I get yet another rude customer service rep saying she doesn't have to explain anything once I confronted them about the issue and hangs up. I switched to Cricket Wireless because I was convinced by the staff that it was the better wireless carrier. Well, they lied! The ONE thing I use my phone for is being able to be notified via text by my bank and being able to register my phone for text notifications with a TON of other things. As it turns out, Cricket Wireless does NOT support those types of things. So, when my checking account is being hacked by someone who stole my purse, I don't get a notification saying my account is being used! Also, the service for wifi/data is ALWAYS crummy, like... 1 bar crummy.

Oftentimes the ones I talk to, cannot hear me because there's a glitch with my phone. I'm mainly just irritated that Cricket Wireless phones cannot receive text alerts from banks, schools or anything else I need alerts from. It's pitiful to lie in order for your products to make money... just a shame. Since I'm on a rant, maybe if your employees knew what the heck they were talking about when selling a phone, you wouldn't have so many ticked off customers. I'm switching back to T-Mobile next month. It might be pricey, but it's worth the money.

They are helping me to do vs. me doing this myself online. I tried to pay the bill online but their system would not accept so I am asking for assistance to pay and put the phone back online. The $3 charge was not refunded even though I've have done all my transactions online up to this point. It's only $3, but it's just the principle of them nickel and diming you for "call in" service. I get the idea of doing everything yourself online, but when that does not work, it's important to be able to call customer service to resolve the issue. They claimed all I had to do was put the SIM card in my phone and activate it through their website. THIS WAS A LIE!!! My phone was locked and I could not activate their service. I decided then I did not want to pay for this service and wanted a refund since it had been so much trouble.

Paying $20 more a month using T-Mobile is totally worth not having to deal with all this nonsense! So much time had passed since when I had called Cricket to get this sorted out. I really just needed phone service so I paid my T-Mobile bill. I don't live in the safest area. I needed to have access to a working phone. I was no longer interested in Cricket Service. I just wanted a refund because their website lied to me and had me pay for a SIM card and phone service I COULD NOT USE! So I walked to the nearest Cricket Wireless store and the guy said my phone was locked by T-Mobile but his system said my phone was unlocked, which by the way is something that shouldn't happen and was physical evidence that Cricket Wireless owed me a refund!!!

He asked if I wanted him to spend the time getting in contact with T-Mobile to unlock my phone and I said no because T-Mobile is honest and reliable, a little pricey, but they don't rip me off. All I know is that their website lied to me, their customer service was the worst I have ever experienced in my entire life, they refused to give me a refund even though they clearly and undeniably ripped me off, and I will go onto every review page of Cricket Wireless on the internet and let everyone know how absolutely terrible and dishonest they are.

I have referred two friends to Cricket Wireless and we have all followed all cricket wireless refer a friend program procedures. One friend has received confirmation that she has successfully received credit for the refer a friend program. A Cricket agent says that the other friend did not sign up for the cricket rewards program and can no longer do so. That friend did sign up for cricket rewards. Also per cricket's policy (see below) that friend is still eligible to sign up but the cricket rep will not sign her up. After numerous support requests cricket will not validate that my referrals are successful.

This is Cricket's current refer a friend announcement: "Sorry, effective Nov. 28, 2017, Cricket Rewards is no longer available to new Rewards participants except for potential customers referred to Cricket as part of the Refer a Friend program. Existing participants will be able to earn points and refer friends up to Jan. 2, 2018. Participants can redeem rewards up to Feb. 26, 2018, when the Rewards program will be terminated."

I have had Cricket for 2 years, had no real issues. I had the family plan of 3 phones, with 8 gig each, and saved using direct deposit. I paid $120 monthly. My wife's phone stopped receiving messages and calls. I figured it was a chip, so went to the Cricket store in Homestead Florida. I was told a new chip would cost $25.00. knowing a chip is usually about $10.00, I told her that was ridiculous. She did something in her computer and said she could do it for $20. Not having a choice, I agreed. She did her thing, and the phone started working. When done, I asked her for a receipt, she was shocked and asked why. She finally gave me a receipt, I walked out and noticed the receipt was for a phone cover.

I don't mind paying fair prices, but I don't want to do business with a company that steals from me. When I called Cricket and explained what happened, they asked; "Well what do you want us to do about it". I replied with; since you don't know what to do, cancel my service! I found a much better deal with Metro PCS. Customer Service at the store was awesome, we were laughing and having a great time while setting my plan up. For the same service I had with Cricket except that I got unlimited compared to 8 gig, with 3 phones was $90. I also got hotspot for all three phones, which was $10 a phone. They also waived the chip/setup fee. I am paying the same I did w/ cricket, but also have hotspot on all three phones! Thanks for reading, and good luck.

My brother has used Cricket Wireless for several years for him & his wife & recommended Cricket for low cost & versatility. His wife doesn't need much data, so she has a low cost plan & he uses a lot, so he has a better plan. I have switched cellular wireless companies four or five times in the last fifteen years in search for good service at a good price. So I'm no lightweight at switching & porting my cellular phone number. Both my brother & I brought our high end iPhones to Cricket & didn't purchase Cricket phones (I have read reviews of cheap phones purchased from Cricket). The phone porting process was the easiest I have ever encountered! I have had Cricket for three (3) months now & am totally satisfied. My wife will be traveling to Mexico on a cruise & the service in Mexico drew me to Cricket Wireless. So far I would recommend Cricket to everyone!

The person who answered the call was not able to answer any of them, as I had anticipated, so I asked for a supervisor. After spending 10 minutes waiting for one, the rep asked for my number so that a supervisor could call me back as soon as one finished a call. Must have been an awfully long call because that was almost 4 hours ago. And still I have no answers. How could customer service be any worse?

Never sign-up for Auto-Pay. Cricket Wireless (AT&T) is not an authentic Business when it comes to refund consumers. The Autopay paid for my next month bill in advance. We canceled the service before the billing cycle and asked for refund. After 45 mins calling in 2 lines (line I already disconnected never got picked-up by agent showing how they discriminate consumer calls!), Customer Service agent said she'll see how to refund before cancellation of service. She only returned back to say "sorry we can't refund, although we understand you paid in advance and your service has not started yet."

I asked for Supervisor. Mr ** repeatedly said "Cricket Wireless don't refund. We are aware that you didn't use our service yet. Only way is to dispute with Credit Card Bank." I asked them as a Business they should let me file the complaint and provide me email or fax. He said sorry to that too. An hour and half went on but they wouldn't refund nor help in filing complaint/consumer grievances.

I can't believe AT&T owns such a Business. Per Business Laws of this country they must provide means for lodging complaints. They cannot charge for something customer never used. However they say AutoPay terms say once paid you don't get your money though you paid in advance for next billing cycle which hasn't started yet. So, be careful about Cricket Wireless. Any idea how do I get my money back? Save from Cricket Wireless ripoff? Entire 1.5 hrs conversation was so annoying experience that I'm planning to seek Legal help to protect such Cricket Wireless frauds affecting consumers in future.

I was led to believe that there was an advantage to adding my daughter when she needed a new phone. Supposedly there would be a 10 dollar discount if I added her to my account. Her bill would be 50 for the unlimited and I was already paying 35 with the discount for autopay. Turns out they took the discount for autopay off and in effect we are paying the same as if she had just opened her own account. If she had opened her own account she would have gotten a 5 dollar discount for auto paying her bill. Absolutely no advantage to adding her to my plan. She is 27 and only got on my plan for the discount.

They are fine when they work, but when you have to replace them under warranty, you lose all your contacts and all other information. Both of our phones died within 4 months. Her new one never did work, so she has discontinued service. Mine worked ok for a while and I finally got all my contacts re-saved. Well, it just died again. I am getting a second one under warranty, but will only use it until I can replace this overpromised service. I don't know how they can stay in business using such inferior "smart" phones. We cancelled an account on December 2016. They said it was completely cancelled and would no longer active. Today Nov. 16th, 2017 we saw an unauthorized payment in the bank account for Cricket Wireless when we haven't had them in almost a year. We called our bank to dispute it and they advised we call Cricket too, and we did. The first customer agent told us the account was cancelled and that he couldn't look up anything without the phone number which is you can imagine no one remembers a number they cancelled a year ago. So, I asked to speak to his superior and he was able to find it with our bank information and told us he couldn't give us any information without the phone number because they couldn't see the phone number but the account came up as active and that only two payments were charged, one for Oct. and November.

That's when I looked deeper into the account and realized they never stopped charging since January 2017. He said he couldn't do anything without the phone number and told us we were still going to keep getting charged to anything and that we were still going to be charged automatically because we had agreed to it at one point. Even though we had cancelled it, he insisted it wasn't cancelled but that they had only charged us twice when it wasn't true. And he ended up telling us that someone could've committed fraud and activated it with our card and exact info from our previous account even though our account was under a different name than our card. We find it hard to believe someone knew that. They finally said to contact our bank because they weren't going to stop. Don't go to Cricket ever. Just go with Straight Talk if you're looking for something affordable.

I have five lines with Cricket because, a year ago, they had the cheapest plan, and to me, phone service is phone service. It always works. Except with Cricket. Never in 45 years have I had to dial every call three times because the signal is too weak in a major suburban area where I live. And, like every other low-budget operation, there is no one at any telephone number that takes responsibility for poor signal strength. I've had dozens of important dropped calls, dozens of messages that came hours later, and hair-pulling frustration.

I finally spoke with a Cricket rep who admitted that there are technical problems with a tower in my geographical area. I am sure every cell company has "problems" with their equipment, but this one has lasted two months and the rep was unable to commit to a return to normal service date. MAYBE Cricket is leasing its equipment or bandwidth from AT&T and maybe AT&T has decided to mess with Cricket customers to drive Cricket out of business. That would be par for the course in a recently deregulated competitive market. But it's not an excuse. I got better reception in the jungles of a southeast Asian country when I lived there. In this instance, you get less than what you paid for.

I only had my service for six weeks and had to change to another service for the following reasons: Some callers were completely unable to reach me, many calls did not go to voice mail and callers complained repeatedly that my call were breaking up. I repeatedly called the store, where I bought my phone, to complain about these problems. The salesman gave a plethora of excuses blaming the problem on everything but the service. I carefully followed his advise to correct the problems and put in a service call to check the connection. Every problem continued. I asked the salesman how to contact customer service. He gave me phone numbers, neither of which had a prompt for customer service.

After repeated tries to both numbers, I called another store and was told that I had to press "0" twice as soon as the recording began. The salesman, at the store of purchase, sounded annoyed, was surly, condescending and just couldn't understand why I was having any issues. I was became so fed up with the seemingly endless attempts to correct the situation that I finally gave up and switched to another phone service. They don't offer hotspot like Metro, unless you buy higher priced plan, and of course, every month they shut off the internet, this you are forced to hear them try to upsell you (when there is already no noticeable difference in 1-2 gigs vs...). You can get 10 gigs with another provider right now for less than 50$/month. It's been a hell of a year, way too stressful for me. This is a continuation from my previous review... I spoke with the manager "Khaled" and he resolved the issue and monthly payment has been changed to the requested date.

    Original Review: Oct. 18, 2017

I called Cricket Wireless and spoke with a male representative and I informed him that I wanted to change my billing date. First off he was extremely rude so he proceed to change my billing date and then tells me after he changed the billing date there will be a fee for the 5 day lapse and I told him I am unable to make a payment today for the change. I asked him to undo the change and he said he couldn't and that my services will be suspended at 12 am tonight. I just paid my phone bill on the 12th of this month and you going to tell me that because you change the date and I didn't agree to change it because of the fee due you are going to disconnect my services... Unacceptable. I waiting to speak with a manager now.

Their call center for warranty asked if it had any scratches and I said the screen had a stuff unrelated to the USB port. She inputted that since the software requested it and replied, "Oh the request was rejected." As if she didn't know that would happen. Frauds.

My son was shot and killed. I called Cricket customer service to cancel his cell phone because Cricket was charging my son's debit card after he died. The first time I called, they refused to allow me to make changes to his account because I didn't know the 4-digit PIN number. Well, it's not like I could ask my dead son for that information! (Also, the first person I spoke with barely spoke English, so I asked to speak to a manager. No difference in the answers I got: he refused to do anything without the PIN number.) So, I went to the local Cricket store, showed my son's death certificate and a photo of his driver's license to the store manager and he changed the PIN.

So then I called Cricket back again. Cricket told me that all they could do was to cancel the automatic payment setup. They refused to close the account or refund the money that they had taken out of his account that very same day (which is how I found out he was still being charged). I insisted again that they close the account. They again refused and stated that their policies only allowed them to stop automatic payments and then allow the account to be suspended at the end of the paid period and canceled 30 days later. This is obviously designed to inflate their subscriber numbers and is actually consumer fraud.

While Cricket did refuse to refund the $35 taken out of my bank account to pay for my son's cell phone service which he was no longer using because he was dead, they did tell me I could file a fraud complaint about the charge with my bank. Apparently Cricket wants me to commit bank fraud to get back my $35 instead of just giving me a refund. I got this same story from each of the 3 customer service agents I spoke with so it must be a Cricket policy to encourage people to commit bank fraud.

Cricket Wireless is a prepaid company which is why I went with them in the 1st place. If I wanted hidden charges, late fees and extra ** I would have went with Sprint or Verizon or a real contract company. But I didn't, why? Because I didn't want the hassle of a contract. Or the extra mess as I stated earlier. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company for the simple fact I was charged a late fee for paying my bill late. Excuse me, really. It's prepaid people, no contract or commitment people. Where does the "late fee" come in at. This company has been seriously lacking in its customer service and with the hidden "fine print" plus their products are terrible. I am on my 3rd phone this year with them. I don't recommend them as a prepaid provider ever. I certainly will be taking my business elsewhere. Thanks!

Sure, I have encountered problems with their customer service department but nothing too extreme. Then one day I was trying to call the police for an emergency and it would not let me call out or receive calls. It would only let me text or use the internet via data. I got ahold of them on Facebook messenger and the representative told me to go to my nearest Cricket store. Yes, because when I'm trying to get ahold of the police the thing I must do is drive 100 miles to your store first... Then it did the same over the next few weeks. Really, I expected to click that one item in the order as defective and get a new one, something you would do with Amazon, eBay or Jet. Instead, the web pointed me to a customer service representative who pointed me to a warranty phone line where a representative took it up with a non-existent supervisor and eventually an empty promise to call me back. Wow. I could just see the greasy fat men sitting in their press-wood desks chuckling while the stale cigarette smoke choked the air. Thank goodness it was the $19 protector and not the $140 phone. They had even charged me $25 to replace their phone with this new version. You are better buying a GSM elsewhere and giving the $25 to a storefront.

Cricket sold me wireless phone service at $80.00 dollars per month for two phone unlimited talk, text and data. This is potentially a fantastic deal. Problem is their area coverage map is a complete, absolute lie. In other words I have only one bar of reception in my calling area and I cannot possibly use or rely on these phones. Dropped voice... Dropped calls... Missed calls are the norm not the exception. When I complained Cricket took 5 days to tell me the reception is bad in my area because the tower cannot reach far enough where I live. When I said what am I supposed to do with two new Cricket GSM phones they had no answer for that.

So I think Cricket should take down their lying Coverage map that shows my area in the GREEN for Good Coverage. I think they should refund me the money I paid for two GSM phones that I cannot use with the carrier that does NOT have coverage in my neighborhood. So Consumer here is what I am saying. Don't trust Cricket coverage maps because they are lying and they know it! They will screw you out of all the money you invested in their phones and will do nothing for you... I think that is business fraud!

My intention is not to destroy Cricket Wireless, but to identify several problems and insist Cricket gets them resolved. In this particular review, I'm only referring to the representatives that are supposed to help customers, especially the customers like me, who know nothing to very little about smart phones (believe me, I need a great deal of help learning different aspects of working a smartphone). Last week, I secured a ride to the closest Cricket store to pay my portion of my bill. For me, finding transportation is a very tedious task, because I don't have a car of my own. I finally got the ride, went up to the counter and explained why I was there.

First of all, the girl said something in another language so, not yet exasperated, I turned to her co-worker, who calmly said in Spanish, I believe," What do you need?". Oh boy, I knew I was in for trouble, while a neighbor, taking time out of her day, waited impatiently in the car. I explained to them that I was here to pay my portion (which is $30.00) of the family plan I'm included in. With much difficulty, I finally learned she was telling me I couldn't only pay a portion of the bill; I would have to pay the entire $170.00. That would not do. I told her then I was putting $30.00 toward that bill and took out my checkbook only to hear, "No no; we don't do checks." Yikes, ok, so out comes a $20.00 bill and a $10.00 bill. "No no, no cash in person". What the Hell??!!

I impatiently said, "Don't you people want my money? What I'm hearing you say is that you're letting me slide on the August bill?". "Here you pay online". Ohhhh kayyyy, I'll do that. And I did. I came home and paid my $30.00 online quite smoothly; called my granddaughter and informed her my portion of the bill is paid. While I was on the phone, I decided to ask them a technical support question, which I will explain in my next review; it certainly deserves a paragraph or two of its own. Do I recommend Cricket Wireless? My answer is exactly this, I'd return to having NO phone if Cricket was the only company in the world. I'm returning, after I get my $30.00's worth, to Boost and leaving Cricket Wireless in the dust, where it belongs. Thank you.

I tried to connect the phone to a new cell phone provider and the phone is "Locked" by Cricket Wireless. I contacted them by phone and was told they had to "generate a request from upper management to unlock the phone" which "can take 5-7 business days". There is a federal law prohibiting this type of hold. It is 24-48 hours for the unlock code per FCC and CTIA and laws passed in 2003 and 2014. I warned the company that what they are doing is against federal code and they did not seem to care. I am now without a cell phone until this "Unlock code" is generated and reported to me.

We now have 5 lines - 3 unlimited data and 2 that are 5GB a month - for $180 a month. I have had zero coverage issues (apparently they have AT&T's coverage area) and the only problems we had was years ago there was a texting problem that was resolved fairly quickly and the service did go out one day a while ago (the day a lot of different services were interrupted). Other than those 2 small issues everything has been wonderful. Even when I have to call them the service is good and they have an online chat that I can use and that also works well. I would recommend this service for sure. I also used my Verizon phone for this service and had no problems. My wife did also.

When it was time to buy a new phone they had the 64GB IPHONE SE for $229 so that's what I got. The prices on their phones aren't bad (until you get the absolute newest phones - they are pretty expensive). They have a decent selection of phones and most Verizon phones can be used. I think they offer a monthly payment on their phones now but I have no experience with that. The internet speeds are fast enough for me to stream whatever I need to. Also there is no overage fee - if you go over you allotment they just slow you down when they need to. That way I never have to worry about my kids running the bill up. That was another reason I hated Verizon - had to keep an eye on the data. Not anymore. For the price I am extremely happy with my phones and service.

When I told them it is the same when I am outside, they say it is the phone. After speaking to at least 15 different customer service people, it is obvious that they are not trained to help but rather to deceive. I would not wish this company on my worst enemy.

I spent an hour on here reading all the HORRIBLE reviews about Cricket, their products, and their customer service. I just bought an LG Harmony m257 in July 2017. The sound never worked from the time I bought it. People would say 'you're cutting out' and I would get dead silence when trying to hear others (for a few seconds, several times in a call).

The GOOD NEWS is, I got a very intelligent, very helpful, very nice lady that spoke my language (English). I called at 4:25 pm and by 4:38 pm our business was completely wrapped up. She informed me that she was sending me an email with my Claim# on it (which has already arrived). I only have to delete my personal stuff, factory reset it, take it to my nearest UPS where they will verify it is not water or physically damaged, provide the box and free return shipment, then send a message to Cricket who will then ship my new phone, to arrive within 1-2 business days (which remains to be seen of course). I have to say, I am quite pleased. Hopefully, all will go as planned.

I have had Cricket for 15+ years. I've paid insurance the entire time. On 7/21 I dropped my iPhone in water. I went into the store the following Monday. I was told my deductible would be 170. I paid $200 two years ago. No one bothered to look up my account and I was treated rudely. I called and had a $75 deductible. Okay. I jumped through hoops to get the claim filed. Done. The website said my phone was on back order and I wouldn't be charged until it shipped. I was charged immediately. I called as there was no follow up and the iChat doesn't work on Asurion's website, ever. I spoke with a woman who said I should be getting my phone within a few days. It's been 3 weeks. I called today to follow up and nothing's been shipped.

I was offered an upgrade but guess what, they're on back order. I asked for a refund-it'll be two weeks to recover that money. I called to cancel my service for the month I paid (the day it was ruined) and was told "Nope! No refunds." Then, I was offered an option to buy a new phone for another $170. No way. I've already spent $170 on insurance that is bunk, $75 for a deductible and $60 for a month's service. This is a blatant ripoff and this company should be held accountable as this is fraud all the way. I will be filing a claim against the company as everything is well documented. I will be taking this to every media site and I've already written letters, emails and placed calls to Cricket's bigwigs. I will not go down without a fight. This is unacceptable. About a month ago, we were expecting a air conditioner repairman to come, after a week with no air in 100 + temps we were desperate... He was suppose to call and come early... We work nights. He never called, we got up at 1:30 pm to find we had no service on our phones. Yes, we panicked... None of our neighbors were home. So my roommate got online and contacted customer "care". She was told it was a system wide outage, it could take awhile to be fixed, but her signal could be bounced off a nearby tower. She was told to remove her battery and SIM card. She removed both... As soon as she took out the SIM card, the rep ended the chat, leaving her stranded... With no idea how to replace the card, she put the battery back in and replaced the back, then had to wait 3 days until a day off to go to Cricket.

3 days and nights without a phone... She was furious. That happened on Wed. Sat, we went to Cricket. The girl, had no idea how to remove the back cover... She was bending and twisting the phone... She showed her how to remove the cover. She installed the SIM card, put the battery and cover back in place. The phone lit right up, only now the on/off button was messed up. It worked prior to that girl bending and twisting the phone. The girl told my roommate "she" broke the button. A repair shop wanted $60 to $100 to fix it... NOT! We went back to Cricket expecting her to make it right... Nothing!

So 4 weeks later we returned to Cricket after deciding we'd all upgrade. They had phones displayed between $20 to $50 we each chose a $50... None in stock, so we chose a $40 phone nope nada... $20?? Nope, the cheapest phone they had was $100. I asked, "If you only have $100 and up phones... Why are the other phones displayed??" The girl smiled a syrupy grin and said, "It's all we have." She in no way cared about doing her job. After 5 years with Cricket we are so done. Shady shady shady.

Warning: When you purchase a new phone from Cricket they are likely to send you a refurbished phone instead with issues, refuse to fix the issues except to send you another refurbished phone. Then when you have a problem and take it to the Cricket store the associate tells you they sent you a refurbished phone. Purchased brand new S7, the ear speakers sounded static in first two weeks. Took it to the Cricket store only to find out it was refurbished. Spent 5 hours on the phone with different departments (warranty, customer service in the Philippines and managers) only to be offered another refurbished phone. So I started looking for new service, switched companies, had just paid my Cricket bill 3 days prior and they refused to refund my money for the services that I canceled. So they charged me for 27 days of service that I did not receive.

The sales representative said they do not do refunds. I told him if they did not refund the money for services I did not receive then I would be sure to tell everyone how this company steals and scams its customers on every outlet that I can. He said, "Okay". Because they also do not care. I asked for a refund on my phone, a replacement phone, or to buy it back so I could get another phone and they said they can't.

I had 5 phone lines with Cricket for over 2 years and their customer service on the phone has always sucked with hour long waits and rude people but I did not have issues with the phones or store reps until now. The price and reception was good. But that means nothing if your phone "brand" new phone is annoying you because of the speaker. I should not purchase a device for $650 and have it act up in the first two weeks and you do nothing. You should not send a customer a refurbished phone when they order a new phone. The managers on the phone stated that their bosses do not have phone numbers only email and that there was no corporate address. Very shady practices.

Ok, let’s take it from the top. I have had Cricket for 8 years. I've found the signal strength to be reliable, I live in a large city so network coverage is strong. I'm on my 5th or 6th phone with Cricket. I have no plans of changing providers but my recent experience has played out so bizarrely that it needs to be shared. I wanted to add a 2nd line to my account and import the existing phone #. Looked easy enough so I go through the website add a line--pick a plan--pick a phone etc--verified the # can be brought to cricket. The screen clearly stated you are not charged anything until you complete the transaction. I review the order total in the checkout screen and the listed price on the phone has increased itself by $40. The website won't let you back up. So I closed the screen.

Few minutes later my bank calls me and tells me my card is not locked due to suspicious activity. From Cricket. Bank was very vague. They unfroze my account and removed a Cricket charge. Would not give me any details. Very shady. I go back to Cricket. Find a different phone and its price did not quietly increase during checkout so I bought it. Verified the # I was adding. The phone shipped to me in 4 days. I open the box and go through the SIM card activating on the new phone. But it won't activate. Just an error message so I contact Cricket live chat support. 30 mins and he is still running the sim card and finally tells me the SIM had already been activated on another phone and starts being rude.

Terms me I need to buy myself a sim card so they can activate it. But I keep explaining. The SIM card they sent is physically right in front of me and has not left the desk or room in my house. So how can it be active on a different acct? At this time I notice that the sim card # printed on the box does not match the card that was in the box. But both are already activated on different accounts. The rep start just telling me buying myself a sim card is the only resolution. I insist that he reports my sim # stolen and he says he will pass the info to the activation dept and call me in 24hrs.

4 days pass with no call so I contact them and I'm told again to go buy my own additional sim card and wait 5-7 more days for an answer. So at this point I have to get the phone activated because they cannot import an existing phone number unless it is active and the service ends in a couple days. I end up at my nearest cricket store and pay $11 for a sim card. The manager was very nice and honestly tried her very very best. I explained the whole situation to her. And she installed the card. Even helped me activate the phone and I switched over to a plan with 2 line unlimited everything for $80/mo. So I start up the second phone thinking I'm all set and discover that she in fact did not import my existing number. She just activated a new number. And I'm screwed over.

The only reason I was doing this was to have the 2nd number imported to Cricket and onto my account... Overall I would say that Cricket employees need some additional training at all levels. AND they need to fix whatever security risks are there that ended up with my online order from Cricket arriving with mismatched sim cards that were both already active on different accounts. Unacceptable performance at all levels. A simple 5 minute transaction has ended up wasting nearly 3 hours of my time plus $11 for an extra sim card and gas spent driving. Thanks for wasting my time. Please do better. Please stop to listen to what people are telling you.

I went back to the store and demanded my money back. I was told, "Sorry... only a 72 hour window." So I went up the food chain and said if they didn't make it right, I was going to cancel and let everyone know about this shady service. Well they put in a 32gb card… said all was good.

For the last year, I've been having nothing but problems. I can't do anything because there is no space. I can't even do updates on it. So I took my phone to an electronics expert. And what he told me was that CRICKET WIRELESS has 5.1 Android on my phone and have no plans to update it. That it is too old! So it's basically a paper weight! I had been into the Cricket store after returning from a trip to the Bahamas. I was supposed to have international service, which I never got. So I turned my phone off. Returning home I turned my phone back on and it must have taken about 20 or more minutes, for all texts and messages to download. When everything was downloaded a message came up saying my phone was phone. So I could not do anything. I went to the Cricket store the next day and told them what happened. The person that was helping me was a little confused, so I suggested just set the phone back to factory settings. Then just put my contacts and pictures back in. He said okay and proceeded to do what I suggested. Needless to say I have had this done many times with each new phone I purchased, so I had no hesitations about doing it this time. Well my pictures came back no problems, but he somehow lost all my contacts about (140+).

I got quite upset and spent almost 2 hours while he kept trying to fix it. No one else in the store could help. Look. I am a senior citizen, 70 years old and a disabled Veteran. I just got so overwhelmed. I said I had to go home. While I was in the store it started to rain, so when I left I walked out the door and slipped, my fault, but the display screen on my phone cracked, again I realized this was my fault. I went back the next day to see if James was there, and they told me he no longer worked there. So I explained again to another clerk what happened, spent another 1 1/2 hours with no results. Well reminded me I have insurance on the phone to call and get a replacement. Well I said $75 plus. They really made me angry. They said they would replace the phone and give me a new upgraded model for around $100. So I said "Ok. Go ahead."

Well when they ran my credit card I came to $225.37. Oh that also included a belt case. I was really upset but I just couldn't take the bickering back and forth so I left. When I got home I looked for a phone number for Cricket and they do not post their number anywhere. So I called customer service and asked for the corp phone and was told there is no number, if I have a complaint post it on their website. So I did that recapping all the above info. I received an e-mail a couple of days later from Cricket asking what the problem was and if they could help me. The e-mail had no name on it. So I replied back "Please read the e-mail I first sent." Well guess what. No one ever responded back to me even after I resent 4 more e-mails.

P.S. I forgot the belt clip was in the bag so before leaving the house opened the back and guess what. Phone does not fit into the clip. I give up. I live in a Senior community and spoke with several of my friends also with Cricket and we are going go down there together to cancel our service. Since then I have had about 18 more friends with Cricket who are also going to cancel. But I guess Cricket doesn't give a damn about us. They got thousands of other customers. I will continue contacting all the residents I know and show them this complaint and see how many more will join us to cancel our Cricket accts.

I called and requested to have a receipt of my payments and I was denied! They stated I can’t do that but I can go to the Cricket app.

Unfortunately it only shows until May when it should for 12 months. I got the run around. Placed on hold for over 20 minutes both times. When I asked for a refund of the amount I did not use I was told I was not able to. I have over 400 credited. So I advised I will be contacting a lawyer. At that point I was told I can get a refund of just two of my payments. Doesn't make sense. I left my payments on there (until I speak to a lawyer) I made an ACH payment. I DO BELIEVE IF I REQUEST A RECEIPT FOR THOSE PAYMENTS I AM SUPPOSED TO GET ONE! This place needs to be shut down. I’m sick of speaking to people who I cannot clearly understand and don't understand me. I believe this company needs to be looked it! Declining someone a receipt after a payment is made is not right. I attempted an order only to find that their website would not accept the "#" character in an address, which is legitimately in my billing address confirmed with my bank card. I went out of my way to go to my bank, change my billing address to another simple address without the # and confirmed it with them as done, and then also went on-line to confirm that it was in fact updated on my on-line bank account too. All good. Then I proceeded to re-enter my order, and all *seemed* to go well. I get an email allegedly confirming the order complete with payment information, and that the number transfer request was confirmed. Their promotion states that next day shipping, but 3 days later I still have no phone in hand. I go to their website order tracking and all it says is "still processing".

So I call them, after 2 hours back and forth, and 4 different people, 3 transfers later, I finally get the information that my order was canceled -- yet I have no confirmation email about it, nor can they tell me why it was canceled. Now, my biggest concern here is they are lying to their customers because they sent out an order confirmation EMAIL which affirms to me the customer "... your Cricket Wireless order. We have confirmed your phone number transfer... Every order gets Free Next Business Day Shipping... [before 2 pm not holiday or weekend]". Their tracking WEBSITE insists "Order is processing" after entry of order number and phone number. BUT their customer care told me three days after I waited for my order supposedly "processing" that the order had been canceled for unknown reason they tell me.

So twice they lie, in EMAIL and in WEBSITE. An order "processing" is not processing at all, it is canceled. On order "confirmed" is not confirmed at all, it is evidently "processing maybe or maybe canceled". Very impossible to order on-line with Cricket, and if you go the store you will be charged $25 fee on top of whatever you buy. Also customer service is absolutely clueless about on-line orders. To be fair, Verizon customer care is similarly clueless about prepaid customers. That is why I tried to switch my Verizon to Cricket. Looks like they are both failures in customer service experience. And it is such a shame because all they have to do is change the email text, change the website text, heck, tell me that it will take them 5 days to process my order would be okay with me, but GET THE ORDER DONE SOMEHOW and don't cancel it for "unknown reasons".

TELL ME WHY, better yet, CALL ME and tell me what the trouble is and let me fix it ON THE PHONE so order can complete. Oh, and make sure address fields allow the "#" and "." and any other mark that is reasonable for various addresses worldwide, and TELL ME UPFRONT BEFORE I SUBMIT what characters are permitted. I'm in negotiation with Cricket for final resolution of this problem. No money has been lost, I just can't seem to order a phone from them no matter how hard I've tried - 3 times now with sufficient funds on hand in my account for the purchase. I've tried to cover all the nay-sayer questions -- yes money on hand, yes billing address same as shipping, yes address confirmed with bank, yes card number correct - preauthorized and shows on bank account online, yes transfer number account confirmed with current provider, yes PIN number confirmed.

Why would they sell me a defective phone in the first place??? Going back to Verizon, more money, better service. So frustrated with Cricket. Not worth it. DON'T use them!!!

I bought 4 phones and transferred our service over from Boost. They promised me better service, coverage, better everything. I have had NOTHING but problems! All 4 lines/phones drop calls, constantly say "please connect to internet." They added things to my account and charged me without my permission. Was told my payment would be $90 every month...1st bill was $175, then it was $150. Called customer service several times and about 45 min into each call I was hung up on. Tried the live chat 7 times in one day kept getting "disconnected". I would have to start over every single time because I got someone different each time and they couldn't transfer me to who I was talking to. They say I have never contacted them because they don't see any notes in the system.

It's not my fault people who work for cricket are too lazy to type notes into the system. I started taking screen shots of the chats for proof, but they say I can't send any of it to them. They tell me I'm lying but won't look at the proof? I had a phone taken off my account 5 seconds after I paid my bill. They told me I had to pay my bill first, then take the phone off my account. The person at the store then told me I couldn't get a credit for the phone I had just taken off my acct. and that I had to call customer service.

So I was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours, was told I would get a credit on my next bill and since nobody put into the system the problems I called and chatted about previously that there weren't any "tickets" for a tech to call me. I wouldn't get any type of credit for the service I was paying for but not getting! I bought a new iPhone in Feb. I have had the phone for 4 months and the touch screen is not working. The only thing I can do is turn it on. Told I had to send it in to Apple to get it fixed. I have asked repeatedly this whole month of June to stop service on that phone... Still not done! This Company is a JOKE!!! I recommend staying away from Cricket! I would go without a phone before ever going through Cricket ever!

I purchase 2 iPhone with insurance online, when I receive them they could not port and activate over the phone so we had to go into store. When in store it took 2 hours, whatever they did they never put back on my insurance. 4 days later my phone was stolen and when reported and filed a claim, I was told I had no insurance. Cricket add the insurance but Saurian said its fraud due to insurance added after claim. I tried to explain everyone was extremely rude and cursed at me.

I went into store to the agent that activated my phone and she got on the phone and did not help me. I was told there no complaint line or anyone who can help me. I had to write the company and no one has been in contact yet. I also went to store with receipt of purchase of insurance sent to company as well. I asked them to give me a discount on another phone and I will purchase another. They didn't want to do that and this was all their fault to begin with. This is a horrible company.

I am a cellphone user & a retired mystery shopper so I do know about customer service. I have been a Cricket customer for about 5 years total, & have never had any major problems at all. I use my phone for calls, texts, picture texts, & the internet on an unlimited data plan. It's been a known issue that although the service & coverage with Cricket are inexpensive and fairly large coverage area, you should never buy a phone from Cricket. I can say that I did buy one, it still works & it's a great phone but I needed a larger one. Other than that phone, I wouldn't ever buy a phone from Cricket! Do the smart thing & bring your own phone & save yourself time, money, & headache. Since I don't travel much, I don't often go out of my coverage area but on the few occasions that I have gone to a neighboring state, my service worked fine.

Regarding customer service on the 800 #, I don't like giving the Filipino foreign nationals my info but most are very polite & courteous and they do give good service. Regarding my having an issue with the foreign call center folks, that's easily solved by walking into my local store. In Savannah, GA on Broughton St, the owner Andy & his staff are always busy with customers, there's usually a wait but you're acknowledged as soon as they see you, it's a small store but the employees are very fast & efficient, & very knowledgeable also. I recently switched back to Cricket after giving Boost Mobile a try & I was able to port my same old # back to Cricket, tho Boost didn't want to let me go as a customer & Boost was nasty about it.

However, the Cricket store employee spoke Spanish, his name is Michael, & he spoke to a Spanish rep & the problem was quickly fixed. I was given a free phone for switching back to Cricket & I keep it put away just to use as a backup in case my current phone should fail. To all those who complain about Cricket service, I have to say that I have tried many other companies - Verizon, AT&T, boost mobile, & T-Mobile, Sprint, Alltel - & I have always come back to Cricket, where I will st because for the price, the service is fine. I pay $55 a month for my bill via Autopay & never lose days of service.

I gave Cricket 4 stars only because I do have dropped calls about once a week, & when it's storming, service is hit or miss but more likely nonexistent until the storm passes. Cricket also has a caveat that I haven't seen other cellular companies do. They have partnered with mPLUS so that when you open & use mPLUS apps, you get Cricket Rewards points that you can buy gift cards with. The gift cards are major name brands for popular retailers & I've earned many Amazon gift cards on mPLUS & Cricket apps. You get points for checking into places & you can also use points to enter sweepstakes or support a number of major charities. I haven't seen other cellphone companies do that sort of thing. For my money, Cricket has great service & coverage so I'm sticking with Cricket!

I have been a customer for about 6-7 yrs. At first everything was ok. Then when I started purchasing more expensive phones I had problems. When my phone stopped working they would send a refurbished phone... problems again. So I purchased a new, the sales person told me if I insured the phone I would not have this problem. If my phone should break they would send me a new one. LIARS... I put in a claim with the insurance because my phone had heat damage (by the way this was caused because when I bought the phone the clerk didn't remove a plastic strip on the back, and I didn't know because he put it in a case I bought there). Anyhow when I got my phone it was a reconditioned phone, that's not what I paid insurance for!! Come to find out the clerk lied to me.

So after paying $7.00 a month for insurance plus a $75.00 deductible I got crap. Then to top it off the phone didn't work. They sent me a phone 3 different times because none of them worked. I was so upset, I finally talked to a supervisor and he promised I would get a brand new phone right away. Another lie... I guess they think people are stupid. I got a phone alright, but this time they didn't put it in a box that said reconditioned. Guess what... this so called new phone doesn't work right either. As soon as I can get a different account somewhere else I am doing away with Cricket and their lying staff. BEWARE. DON'T BUY FROM CRICKET. I learned my lesson.

I purchased phone and service for my Mom. Once I received the phone and ported over her number the phone was activated. However, upon boot-up the phone had a SIM error that said Invalid or Missing. I got online with their CHAT department and after many round of questions and answers the person was kind and gave me a $10 credit and asked that I go to a local Cricket Store and have them replace the SIM Card. Sounds easy enough.

I go to the local Cricket Store and the one sales guy really had no idea and proceeded to contact his CHAT rep. Now mind you, I did tell him that the first guy that I chatted with told me to come in and have the card replaced. But no... this CHAT guy says to create a ticket and wait 3-5 days for them to research. So my first response was to see if he had a phone he could put my SIM card in to see if it is a defective SIM card. Nope, they couldn't do that nor try another card. So I went home and waited just a little frustrated. So today (2 1/2 days later), I get a message on my other phone that they have fixed the problem and to please reboot... and by the way, they closed the case. So, I reboot the phone and received the same error.

I again contact Customer Service and ask that they send out a phone/SIM that is working. Nope, they can't do that. So what do they do? Create another ticket and tell me I have to wait another 3-5 days for them to resolve the problem they didn't resolve. Again, this was a brand new service and thus far I have received no satisfaction. So I bluntly asked, "What happens if they call, tell me they fixed it again, close the case and it still doesn't work?" I did not get a straight answer.

I had to suspend the line, I contacted Cricket so called customer service and they did as little as possible to help me. I paid insurance on the phone for almost a year so they transferred me to the insurance company. After two weeks of no phone I started getting upset and calling, asking where my phone was. The customer service would just transfer me to any department I think would answer, 9 out of 10 times the wrong department. Finally after a month of this I get in touch with the insurance company who informed me that yes they handle the phones but it's the carrier who send them, which is Cricket and unfortunately Cricket no longer carries that phone.

Now I had to pay for a full month of service for a phone I didn't even have and when I try to talk to someone in management or corporate at Cricket they day they cannot give out that number, what a crock of **. Cricket's customer service is not only horrible but they flat out lie to their customers. And I found it funny that everyone one of them have names like Maryann and Bob but they are obviously foreign. Not to sound racist but how can you file a complaint on someone who gives you a false name every time, and how is it that some supervisor that can do nothing to help is the highest level of employee there. Would I recommend Cricket Wireless, NO, and please notice I capitalized that but not the name of the company, cause they do not deserve it.

If I had my way they would be out of business, which is why I feel people need to get together to try and accomplish this. Cricket is crooked should be their motto and should be posted on every single social media outlet out there today. Well, this option is all fine as long as you are residing in the United States. In my current situation, I am deployed and unable to access any text messages sent from Cricket. Well, after three attempts to contact Cricket today, their own representatives were not able to assist as they thought they would at the start of our conversation. By having text message as the only means for customers to access their account information strongly encourages me to leave Cricket and to not recommend this service to anyone, especially members in the military.

While other phone companies allow you to receive text messages via email or even over the phone, Cricket basically explained to me that even though I'm still paying my bill in full each month, that my services are not active at home. So... Why am I paying for full service each month and not getting the service that I'm paying for? Sure, I'm in a country that Cricket does not support cellular service, but that does not explain how an organization as Cricket could have a single point of failure, by only allowing account access code be provided through via text message. I can't access my account and not even Cricket can help me, but they continue to collect that money in full each month. Cricket, thanks you for your service to Soldiers! The in-store staff were rude and unknowledgeable about their products and services. I paid for insurance for two phones which proved useless because the phones weren't covered since they both had problems with their charging ports.

I could send in for a replacement phone for both my boyfriend and his daughter but they were going to charge me double what the original purchase cost was on the phones. I dropped the insurance and had no success with the customer service people since most didn't speak fluent English. Since April of 2016 we have gone through eleven phones on five lines because their products are sub par and service is below standard at best. I have since learned how to navigate around the customer service issues and bad phones and just do everything myself now.
