I have been a member of Cricket for more than 6 months now, and a few days ago I removed the established auto pay. But today I checked my account, and the money had been removed two days ago. My original bill wasn't due until today, I called customer service to explain my situation and the representative very rudely responded that I couldn't do anything because they did not have a refund program. I am extremely dissatisfied.

So I got a Cricket Phone, had it for over a year and I cancelled it out with a remaining balance. I spoke to people at the store and no help. Told me I had to call their customer service. I did - it hangs up on me. I went online, did a chat and the person was rude. Told me I could not get my money because it was a policy. I checked in the booklets - they gave me no information about policies on the booklet. Plus he ignored my questions, didn't put me through to a supervisor even though I asked - plus no one in the store told me their policies when I opened the account or after I went in to cancel it out. So I'm out close to 100.00 even though I asked about it in person when I was there and the girl told me she didn't know anything, just gave me a number that just hangs up on me. Worst service ever. Will never use them ever again.

I bought a ZTE 9511 Overture for $209 in November of 2013. I had no problem porting over my phone number from Verizon, bought the insurance, the $55 plan, and 5 gb of data. Within a week, the phone stopped receiving phone calls. I took it back and they exchanged it. This new phone would receive calls, but I couldn't make them. Took it back again. Replaced it with a third phone. This one worked, except that periodically, the touch screen wouldn't work. Resetting the battery solved that. Two of the features that made me go to Cricket (besides the price being 2/3's lower than Verizon) were the Hot Spot and Muve. I live two blocks from the Cricket store in Mesa, AZ and usually get 4G speeds. I use the Hot Spot to connect through my home computer.
In October of 2014, I went online two days after paying my bill. Immediately, a notice showed up saying that I had exceeded my 5gb limit. Sure enough, I looked at the data usage on my phone and it showed that in less than 1 hour I'd gone from .06gb to over 5 gb. I went over to the Cricket store where at least three salespersons told me that it was my fault, that I had used all the data. Actually, I hadn't even used the phone the previous day, being a Sunday. After an hour of telling me that they couldn't do anything, the manager finally went online and credited me with an additional 5 gb. That's when they told me that my phone, which was less than one year old, would have to replaced in March. I asked if the new phones had the Hot Spot, because I use it daily in my business. No such luck.
A few days ago, I went to Muve to play some music, and was informed that Muve was no longer available, but I could purchase Deezer for $6.99 a month. Today I received a letter from Cricket informing me that they were discontinuing the Lifeline discount. So the bottom line is that they are discontinuing the Hot Spot, Lifeline discounts, charging for Deezer (sic). Frankly, without the Hot Spot, they're just another cheap phone company. I tried to go on to the Cricket website this evening, but it wouldn't recognize my username and password. I asked for help and it took me to a screen that asked for my mobile number. When I typed it in, the site said that that was not a valid Cricket mobile number. So now I'm locked out of my account.
Also, they originally told me that the phone wouldn't work after March 2015, but the letter I received said that they would be changing over later and that I could continue to use my current phone until August 20, 2015. Tomorrow I'm going over to talk to the people at Cricket to find out what's going on (if they'll tell me). I'll post what I find out. It's looking like a class action lawsuit might be the way to go.

The store I had purchased my plan 6 years ago from was no help and was unwilling or lacked the knowledge to guide me through the transition to newer plans that were to take place in the spring of 2015. Consequently I shopped other providers. I was unable to get to their customer service using the number that was ported to my new provider.

I purchased a Samsung galaxy 3 on a Friday ($460 w/ 1st month service). I couldn't turn the phone back on once I had turned it off the very next day. I was able to switch to another phone (barely) free of charge that Sat. The following Monday they began selling the Samsung galaxy 4! I could have waited until Monday to buy a phone! So, that was my second problem with Cricket. Would it have hurt them to inform me of that?!! Also, I was promised 4G service 'soon'. This purchase was May 31, 2013. I paid my bill in-store the first couple months and always asked when will I get 4G as I was promised? Response: "soon". That went on and on....Soon, they would say to me. It's 2015, I still don't have 4G! (Feb 14, 2015) - because NOW, I have to buy a brand new phone!! They claim my current phone will not work with 4G. They say that I can't even sell my phone to another carrier/person because it will not work and is basically useless.
The deceptive cricket store says I can get a $75 credit on a new purchase. The comparable phone to mine is well over $500 now. Are they kidding me? So, I went to a different Cricket. They told me I would get $105 for my trade-in. Go figure? Now what? Can't sell it outright; don't want to stay with Cricket either. I asked, "How soon until my next phone becomes obsolete? How much time will I have before the next big thing comes down the pike; or, the network upgrades and I'll need another new device to keep up? How soon will I have to spend another $500, or $700?"
Also, I told them where I would be using the phone (out of the area). They failed to mention that they don't have service in PA and they barely have service in WV. They don't even have stores in those 2 states. I didn't know that when I bought my phone. They should have told me this! I was very upfront about where I lived and my travels to PA. Using the internet without WiFi is nearly impossible. The system thinks you're using your phone as a hotspot and all kinds of clearmode cricket msgs pop up. It drives me crazy. The internet access is unreliable. I feel deceived by this company in many ways. I can't recommend it to anyone.
I chose Cricket because I didn't want a contract and I liked the lower prices. Even the unlimited data plan has it's limits. Several times I had to put money in my account just to buy MORE data. Don't be fooled like I have been. I've learned a great deal from my mistakes. Now I must decide what to do about it now that I've been forced to choose. My receipt is in 2 parts because I paid part cash and part by card as I recall.

The customer service sucks. Last month my bill was due on 12/27. I set up a BridgePay on the 31st, paid the $20 then received a text to pay 7 days later $5 more of what I was supposed to pay. Didn't really pay it, no mind. When I was one day late on paying, I was then told that I would have to pay the whole bill. When I question as to why the lady I was speaking to got flustered because I was never told so, I ask to speak to a supervisor which the supervisor hung up on me. I called back and again she hung up on me.
Today I wanted to set up a BridgePay. My bill was due on the 8, today is the 11. I get to the store before I have to catch the train for work and was told that it wouldn't go through aovi call. Customers service was told my account was suspended, that is I would have to pay an extra $5 to get the BridgePay. I said "fine, whatever. I have to go, I'm running late for work." The lady says "OK" and ask me to hold. She put me on hold for 5min, 3 times and they still had my account suspended so I couldn't make the BridgePay. My thing is why did I have to pay an extra $5 when I did the same thing last month and set it up 1 day before last month's date? This company is petty. Stop taking it personal. It's business and people have a right to know what the hidden fees are.

I upgraded my 3G phone to 4G. I needed some technical support so I called. I have never had a problem talking to a tech - very helpful. A week ago I called their menu was completely change. For an hour I tried to talk to someone - believe me you can't. Why they are doing this is beyond me. Their 611 number and their 800 number go to the same recording. It was very frustrating. I needed help and they sure made sure I didn't get any. Maybe there is a way to get thru but I couldn't find it.

I was informed that I must buy a new phone that would work with the "new" Cricket. I have been with Cricket for several years and purchased a Galaxy S4 less than a year ago for over $400. I received a letter from Cricket stating to bring in my phone and receive a $120 credit plus the trade in value of the phone toward the purchase of a new phone. Now, the Cricket website states that they will give you a comparable phone for free. The corporate store had no interest in that statement on the website and simply told me "that's not how it works." I took the letter offering the $120 PLUS the value of my current S4 to the corporate store and was told that I got $120 toward a new phone. I asked why the letter stated $120 PLUS the trade in value. They responded with "thats not how it works" and refused to even acknowledge the letter/offer I received in the mail. They also stated that my current S4 was set to be shut off in a few days due to the merger.
I called the "new" customer care and was told there is nothing they can do and that I would have to take it to a corporate store. I explained that I was indeed at a corporate store and they refused to even look at the offer that was sent to me. Bottom line is I bought a $400+ phone from them less than a year ago, they are now forcing me to buy a new phone or go to a new carrier, the S4 (same phone) is now $429, so I pay $309 so I can have the same exact phone I already have or I'm stuck finding a new carrier. NOBODY at the corporate store nor customer care tried to help, but rather passed the buck to each other. I hope a class action suit is brought so we can set this straight. Purchased the Samsung Galaxy S4 back in Feb. 2014 and less than one year later Cricket tells me that my S4 that I paid well over 700.00 bucks for would not be compatible with the network. They were only willing to give me the ZTE Grand X as an even exchange and the phone is a significant downgrade from my S4.... I was told I would receive 100.00 rebate on the Grand X, now several weeks later they send a letter saying I'm not eligible for the rebate. I am so disgusted with Cricket and a long time Cricket customer of a 8 years but I think I'm going to switch phone companies because this all just seems to be a rip off of their former customers.

What is the use of having these phones and services like LTE when you can't use them? I bought an iPhone 4 8gb from this company 2 years ago with the service the phone and phone case. I paid 500$ cash. I can't even use this phone with Cricket service anymore and they offered me 30$ to buy it back... What a waste...

I recently purchased a SIM card as well as a monthly service plan. I made this purchase because I went on the cricket wireless website and entered my IMEI # and it told me my phone was compatible. Needless to say it isn't. The customer service is despicable and I was informed they don't give refunds. I was scammed and lied to thinking that I would be able to use my phone. Why not refund me for a service I was not provided? Now I am out over $50!! I have contacted the BBB and hope that some resolution will become of this!

I have had several cellphones at cricket wireless. Where they were compromised, the company should put better protection for their customers. We (meaning my son) went to a corporate office, here in Chicago. Where they didn't help. At first we will change cell numbers to see if the hacking would stop! It didn't. It not just Cricket, other companies in general suppose to protect their consumers. We pay our money, we suppose to get great services.

I have a friend that tried cricket who had a better experience. Hopefully the AT&T merge will improve the company. As of right now I have had the worst experience I think I have had with a company. I utilized the chat many times they told me my phone would work. I attempted to call them to make sure I get transferred to a line that rings for approximately 3 minutes and says "we are sorry, no one is here to take your call" and disconnects me in the middle of the day!
The service wouldn't work on my phone. That may not be their fault but there was no way to confirm that since I couldn't get a hold of anyone. Half the links on the website are not working. It no longer would let me sign into my acct saying I am not a customer. They also refuse to refund any of my money, "because these are our terms and conditions."

I used to be a loyal customer with Cricket and when they merged with AT&T they told me I had to buy a new phone to continue using their network. Also mentioned that I spent over $200 for a phone I would get the 4G LTE network and coverage. Never received the LTE coverage, but oh well. Then noticed that they had a new plan and data where if you have a LTE capable device you get a total of 20 gigs of data a month.
The store was not sure if I would be able to get it, but if the system gives me the 20 gigs then I do. I then went online to speak technical support to find out why I wasn't getting the LTE coverage, while the coverage map is covered with LTE in my area. After spending over an hour online arguing about that even though my plan says "advance" and getting 20 gigs, I'm not really getting 20 gigs. When I commented on how this is misleading, she offered to change it to show the 10 gigs instead of 20.
I flipped out and also stated that how do I know you're really giving me 10 gigs and not just 5 gigs or 3. She ignored the comment and said "because your phone is not LTE compatible." She did not offer final assistance before disconnecting the chat. This aggravates me so much that I am actually take my business elsewhere, and I am not talking about the parent company either. This is the only real issue I have had with Cricket... Sorry, the "new" Cricket.

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy s4 from Cricket Wireless for over $500.00. I only had my phone for over a year, it was in very good condition, no scratches on the front or back, it was like new but because of the changes I had to turn my phone in for something of lesser value. I didn't have the money to purchase another S4 and I shouldn't have to. If Cricket was going to change their phones, I should have been given back the kind of phone I was turning in. Now I am stuck with a big bulky phone that I hate. I lost all my contacts and passwords and most of my pics, but most of all, I am out of the money and the value I paid for my Galaxy S4. As soon as I can, I will be leaving Cricket Wireless for good. Customers come first, but in this case, Cricket put their company first. SMH.

I traded in a phone for an updated phone in your store in Fenton, MO on 1/16/2015. I was told I had a 7 day tryout to see if I could operate this phone! I tried for 7 days to use the phone. It was too complicated for me. I called on day 7 at around 6:30 pm to exchange the phone. I was told that the store was closing at 7 pm. I didn't know the store closed at that time, I thought around 9pm.
I was told that if I could not get there by 7pm that they would not honor my 7 day warranty & exchange the phone for me! I was about 35 minutes from the store! I could not get there by 7pm. I asked since I called before the store closed & was going to bring the phone in that night would they honor my exchange. The store manager GRANT told me no, that he couldn't do that .Then he put me on hold for a minute & then told me to bring it in the next day for the exchange. I went to store the next morning & the first thing that Grant told me when I walked in was that you told him no he could not do that! He called or text you, you were busy, but you would call me! No call!
He called me back and told me you said No!!! Even though I called on the 7th day to say I was coming in to exchange the phone, you still say no. I didn't know the store closed at 7. I would think common courtesy for a cricket customer would mean something, but apparently not!! I will pass this on to Cricket customer service to see what they think of this!!!! Very,Very UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!

I have been with cricket for 8 years. The service has been great, but the customer service is poor. I recently purchased an iPhone 5 to replace my old cricket phone since my old phone will stop working next month because of their merger with AT&T. I called the store before going to avoid having to wait because I have a 19 month old and it's not easy having a small, curious child wait for excessive amounts of time. The worker on the phone said to come and they weren't busy. Well I ended up having to wait 45 minutes before I was helped...well technically, screwed around by cricket's ridiculous system. By the time I got to the counter, my kid was not happy, and tired of waiting there. There was a room full of people waiting to be helped, and the same two customers being helped when I got there were still being helped 30 minutes later. It was extremely excessive.
When I finally got to the counter, the employees told me they could not switch my phone unless I pay another month of service right then. I am signed up for automatic bill pay. The payment posted to my bank account the day I visited the store, and I even got a text message thanking me for the payment. The automatic payment is debited a day before it's due, so I actually paid before the due date. The workers then told me the payment would take 24 hours to post to my cricket account, so to come back. I obliged them, and came back 48 hours later.
They still couldn't do anything, saying the payment didn't post yet! Wtf! Get it together. The worker even went to the back to ask the manager, whose too important to show his face out front, and he said there was nothing they could do unless I made a double payment.
I have visited the service store twice now, which is a 20 minute drive one way, with my 19 month old child, and both times these people are telling me they can't do anything, when I have done my part...I have been a loyal customer for 8 years, and have automatic payment. It's said they treat long term customers, who always pay their bill on time, this way. I even called the regular customer service line to complain, and they offered me nothing new, and said I would have to visit the store.
They offer no concession for my inconvenience, which is technically their error, and they are making it a problem for me. So I have driven a total of 80 minutes, and had to wait for 45 minutes while my child got very upset, so cricket could screw me around and not help a loyal, paying customer. So cricket has wasted a total of 2 hours and 5 minutes of my time (plus the time it's taken me to write this hateful review), which they tell me could be avoided if I pay them more money!
I will give one more chance for them to remedy the situation, and if their hands are still tied, I will have no choice but to take my business elsewhere. That's sad when you lose a loyal customer of 8 years over this nonsense. Get a clue cricket.

My father purchased a Cricket Nokia 635 on Jan 13, 2015. On Jan 20th the phone was overheating. I called customer service immediately and was instructed by Gail ** to mail the phone to the company for repair. She instructed me to remove the back cover and the battery and the sim card. I tried to do this and it seems like I would have to pry it open with a screwdriver. She then told me that some of the phones were sealed and that if I broke open the back cover it would void the warranty altogether. She then told me to leave it all together put it in the envelope and mail it back which I did.
On January the 28 I got the phone back with no battery, no SIM card and no back cover. I then called customer service, they told me that I should have kept the back cover, the SIM card and the battery and that all those parts had been recycled. I would have to purchase a new SIM card for $10, a battery for $29 and a back cover for $8. I tried numerous times to contact a supervisor, left messages, was told that they would try to find my parts in the warehouse and mail them back to me. I have made over twelve calls and was disconnected several times, tried customer service, they could not help me. They sent me back to the warranty side, they said they escalated a message to the warehouse but no answer, bottom line is I still have no sim card, battery or back cover for my brand new phone.
I feel the way I have been treated is horrible and I am very disgusted with the way Cricket has treated me. I am now 10 days without being able to use my phone. It's one of the main reasons I have stayed with this company because if you are unfortunate enough not to be able to pay your bill you still got the option of being able to text. Now on the new network not only can you not make a BridgePay without paying upfront but now your phone is a paperweight until you can get it turned back on. Customer Service is a joke. It's people from different countries that you can't understand that have zero desire to help you out or explain any of this to you before you switch to the new network in the first place. Instead of replacing my Samsung Galaxy S4 with a S4 that is compatible with the network, they're offering me 80.00 store credit towards a phone that will be compatible. My phone cost me 600 dollars and it's less than a year old AND in PERFECT condition. It's been in a case its entire life!! What a scam... many people don't know about this! I don't want a new phone, I like the one I have. I'm out 520 dollars now... I can't afford a new s4! They better fix this!

Since Cricket is now owned by AT&T from what I was told by customer service, you have to trade in your phones for them to work on the new network. When I went to exchange my Galaxy 4 (3G) I was told that my specific phone would not be exchanged for another of equal value. I JUST BOUGHT the phone 6 MONTHS ago and spent close to $600.00 at Radio Shack. Now Cricket is telling me it's only worth $160.00 towards another phone. Even the customer service rep inside the Cricket store said he's seen A LOT of ANGRY customers. I had no choice but to go to Verizon where they gave me a free Galaxy 4 (4G) and upgraded my coverage. Kind of pissed though because now it's on 2 year plan WHICH I NEVER WANTED TO DO, AND it's costing me $15 more a month. Sort of worth it though just to dump Cricket.
I BETTER NOT see them auto charge my account next month like one of the other reports stated. According to the store, they said it WOULDN'T be able to be paid next month. I have a BAD FEELING they're going to auto charge me for a phone I can't even use. If there are any lawsuits COUNT ME IN. I feel sorry for some others who are still paying on their phones or don't have other options.

Verizon had been inching my bill upwards for years with limited minutes, texts and no data. So, I researched a CDMA/GSM combination phone and settled on the DOOGEE DG310. I went to the Cricket store in Seneca, SC and the young clerk there was WONDERFUL. She answered all my service questions, including researching the tough question about voice/text from Mexico.
I produced my NEW phone and she immediately pronounced it compatible, and tested it with an in-house SIM card. I signed up for service w/ automatic billing and she set up the phone, tested everything: voice, text, data, Internet... the works. The service works excellent, not as strong a signal as I had w/ Verizon, but very useable. I'd recommend them again.

Don't ever buy a phone with a rebate, you won't get it. The customer service is the absolute worst. The coverage is not as it states, their phones are horrible and doing business with this company will raise your blood pressure. I am on a family plan, and one of our phones has had an issue (not usable) for over a month. No one will help and yet I am still being charged for that line. I wish I knew how to report them to someone who could do something about this. I am wondering how long before a class action lawsuit is brought against them. They can't keep treating people like this and stay in business. If I could, I would give them a negative star rating.

I decided to use Cricket as my new cell phone provider in November and as part of my purchase, I requested a number port request. However, my current wireless provider now tells me that the Port Request is still outstanding with Cricket. When I called Cricket, opened a case (**). They keep resolving it without cancelling my port request. Why its important - unless Cricket cancels the port request from their end, I am stuck with my current wireless provider (AT&T).

I used Cricket for four years. Used to think they had decent service at a good price. Their service beat out Verizon's and AT&T in my area. They started merging with another company. I received a text message on January 17, 2015 telling me I had to upgrade my phone because of the merge (they are going to use AT&T's towers). Without out any advance warning to their customers they cut service in my area. I tried to call 911 about 4:00 a.m. last night for my younger brother (he had a blood clot). All outgoing calls, no matter the number called, went to an automated message stating they were upgrading their system and service would not be available until 12:00 p.m. EST (I live in MST). Their service didn't come back up until after 1:30 p.m. EST.
I went from door to door at 4:00 in the morning pounding on them to get a neighbor to call 911 for my brother. He died in the trauma room. Trauma doctor told me if he had only made it there 10-15 minutes earlier, they would have given him an anticoagulant via IV and the clot wouldn't have hit his heart. I previously lost two other brothers in the early 90's from clots hitting their hearts. My younger brother and I deliberately moved close to the hospital because of the genetic disorder that causes the clots. I threw my Cricket cell phone against the trauma room wall when he died. Just joined the new cricket December 8, 2014 and very dissatisfied, at a loss for words. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years. On January 8 my service was suspended so I set up a bridge pay and paid 20 dollars which was suppose to give me 7 days of service. On January 15 my service was suspended again so I then paid 35 dollars (the rest) and the phone was reactivated the next morning. January 16 my service was suspended again, I then called 611 for customer care at 7:25 am and spoke with Gaby Id#**.
It was very loud in the background and she was very rude, she kept placing me on hold playing loud annoying horrible music. I asked a number of times not to play that music, she was very rude telling me to hold on to see what she could do. And every time she came back she'd inform me there was nothing she could do to help me. So then she told me I owed 13.34. I informed her all I had was 50 to pay my phone bill for January, so I ask her to turn my service on or give me my 50 (money) back if I'm not using the service, then she hung up on me.
I then called back and a representative named Camilla Id#** answered the call (stating who do I have the pleasure to speak with). I then informed her I was calling back because I had just gotten hung up on she said "I'm sorry for that what can I do to help you (her)." I then told her I needed her to turn my phone back on, it's against the law to take my money and not give me my service. I asked her how can I complain, she told me I had to go to Atlanta Georgia and she started laughing. (i live in Virginia that's about ten hours away) She then demanded I pay 13.34 dollars or I would not have service. I told her no one ever told me before that I had to pay 13.34. She said "sorry for that" but she couldn't turn my phone on. She then hung up.
I called back AGAIN and Christian Id#:**. I guess, he didn't sound too sure about who he was, he didn't want to give me his Id number. He sounded drunk and had horrible speech. I told him I got hung up on twice and then he said "I'm sad to hear that." I had my friend on the phone listening to the whole thing, he was very rude and not helpful. I ask for the supervisor SEVERAL times and he refused. Then he finally let me speak to a supervisor. You can't charge people money and turn their service off then demand they pay hidden fees. Something needs to be done about this.

Yeah, at&t buys cricket so they win and long time cricket customers lose. They tell you that you have to buy new phone and it's free but then you have to pay your monthly bill even though you just paid your bill to which they then say "yeah, that was for your old cricket and now you have to pay the new cricket." So basically you pay your bill twice for one month then when you pay a bridge they turn your phone off earlier than 7 days then say you have to pay full amount because your bridge expired.

I had one of the worst experiences. My phone charger got chewed on by my puppy and since it was an emergency I decided to go buy a charger at one Cricket store in Chula Vista. The young girl there who was new informed me that they had no chargers for the iPhone 4s except for one. Not only did I find this ridiculous but the charger they tried to sell me was one that costs nearly 30$ and is very noticeably cheap and bad quality. I decided it was not worth it since I had bought two of those before and they had stopped working after about two days. This charger included a car charger, a wall plug in, and the USB cable.
I told her no thank you since I only needed the USB cable, it was way too expensive, and I had already tried that same charger brand from their store and they all failed after a couple of days. I believed her to be really nice since she gave me a discount and I ended up paying about 21$ (still pretty expensive for a USB cord) and she reassured me that I could return it within 30 days of purchase. Due to that I bought it.
The charger failed about three days after purchasing it and it took me about two weeks to return it since I had been busy. Once I had time to go return it, which was less than the 30-day limit she had said to me, the people at the store did not want to give me my money back or do anything to fix it! The store manager was there; I expected her to intervene and help me but she did absolutely nothing. I told them an employee had assured me I could return it and they called me a liar to my face! You know what's the problem? The service. The customer is the bad guy when it comes to Cricket. It's terrible. I got a brand new Windows phone (Horrible mistake) and they're a bunch of shady jerks because they display the phones very nicely on the shelves but when you purchase a phone, that is a completely different story. The phone started giving me problems after two measly weeks. I go in today and the store claims that I can't get a new phone. Cricket used to have a policy that after 30 days, you can exchange for a new phone if you have problems. Now you can do that only after 7 days. That's nothing. You know why they do that? Because the company doesn't want to deal with returns or hassles. They're shady. They're jerks. So I agreed to call a number they gave me so I can send in this defected phone in for a brand new phone, and the only operators that pick up the phones, are these foreigners with broken, limited English. Makes it completely hard to understand.
When I finally get through with someone who speaks fluent English, she tells me that my phone isn't eligible for exchange. I call back to the local store where I purchased this phone, and they gave me a completely different number. Right now, I'm still on hold. It's been 45 minutes. No help, no assistance. Cricket is a joke, a sad, sick company with the tendency of screwing over their customers. All I wanted was an exchange. It sounds simple right? NO. They make it as inconvenience for me as possible. I had an AT&T account and I was leaving them as it ends today. So I wanted a better rate and the new data plans are only 2gb unless you move up to a 160 dollar plan... so over them... My choice to use my Galaxy S5 active knowing Cricket is now a GSM company made me happy I didn’t waste 650 dollars. I did want my number to be ported but that didn’t happen. I waited with the tech at GameStop for AT&T to release my number to cricket... I decided that I needed a new change for the New Year and had them cancel that porting action. The GameStop employee was honest that Cricket needs to provide more training for them, and that he has not had a successful Port yet. However once I paid for the PRO plan, getting the $5 dollars for autopay, and requested a new line. That procedure took less than 15 minutes.
Placed the new sim in my phone and rebooted. When it came back on, in the upper left corner was "cricket" and of course my 4G lte since cricket uses the AT&T network. We called two numbers, each worked. Then I started receiving my welcome messages from Cricket. Installed the app for managing my account, and it is clean much more functional than the at&t app built in my phone. I will now work on getting my $100 dollar credit for switching what they promise. I will expect some problems with the politics of Cricket, but not the network and the plans. If you don’t have a good GSM phone to bring over, I recommend do your research and buy one off of craigslist or amazon that is unlocked for At&t. You can then be like me and have satisfaction.
I reviewed all the phones they have for use, and I don’t like their top models because I am very spoiled with my Galaxy and not a fan of windows 8. I hope you see my two negatives here are: Bringing your Number with you fails, and Phone selection is weak. That is it. I am not sure where some of the women here are getting their services from (stores are mentioned but not named), but if you are not savvy in phone features and know brands and processors don’t go alone, bring someone that will keep you from getting talked down to or redirected... In fact I suggest you have a plan with the phone you are wanting to use, and know for sure your existing account numbers if you are switching. Happy New Year.

You cannot believe a word the salesperson or customer service tells you. I am a long-time customer (3 days). I bought a phone with accessories and was told I could return the accessories within 48 hours and the phone within 7 days. Attempted to return all within the 48 hours and was declined. Told I was not told that -that the store policy is not to refund on accessories. So, I am told by an associated service provider that they can activate their service on that same phone. However, when this was attempted, Cricket had put a lock on the phone, which is not their property since I have purchased it.
My provider, which I had been with for 18 years and is the same provider associated with Cricket, tells me that Cricket has to provide me with the unlock code but at this point, we both know that it will be a long process because he has already experienced a phone call with them. So, I go home and prepare for a long wait to get someone on the phone and actually, it wasn't too bad for them (20 minutes). After the CSR spends 5 minutes reviewing my account, he comes back and says he doesn't have access to that because the account has to be 4 months old for him to be able to view it.
I bet that when I call back in 4 months, the response will be that once the account is closed, that they only have 90 days to view the account. You can guarantee it will be some kind of nonsense, no matter what the problem, to keep you going around in circles and never having a resolution. I have had to find my own resolution which is, I wanted a Windows 8.1 phone, so I bought the phone directly from Microsoft (with whom I can tell you has excellent customer service, above and beyond what a consumer could expect) and even though Cricket's phone prices are low, I paid less directly from Microsoft.
I am paying $20 more a month for service which is 1/2 again more from Cricket's $40 but I am confident that when I pick up the phone to use it, service will be there. Not that I will use it, but I have more data available. So, the lesson learned is that you really do get what you pay for. I will donate the Cricket phone, which I have been assured they will get the code to unlock it because I would not forward Cricket problems on to anyone - that would not be a gift!!!!!

Hi. I was a five years Cricket wireless customer; I had two phone lines with them. I went to get a new phone because my phone was dying, battery just not charging anymore. When I got there Cricket sales representative informed me that by end of January 2015 I was obligated to get new phones. I was very surprised when she informed that because I didn't get a notification or call about the change or switch to AT&T.
It was a coincidence I needed a phone, so now that I was at the store, I had to get not one phone but two phones because they have new communication towers and the phones we have won't work on the old Cricket towers. The new communication towers belong to AT&T and Cricket networks was digested by AT&T so anyone who has a cricket network is obligated to switch to AT&T's. I guess it is the way things roll and period! I would have appreciated a little consideration and notice about this important change, but none.
Anyway, once I was there the representative offered me a trade off promotion they had going on to all customers. She suggested to trade off my Blackberry for the phone I choose, I only had to pay the difference in price and they get to keep the phones. In the beginning I thought what else no other option but to cancel the account or take it. I took that offer; however what I didn't realize is that they keep all the information. I thought they will erase or do a manufacturing reset before they take it but that is not the case, they keep the phone with all your information. I asked them to give me my phone back, I wanted to cancel that trade off and pay for the phone as long as I keep my info, and they don't want to do it. They have my phone. They said I traded off and now it is not possible to go back because of the new system. That does not make sense, I told them I just want to cancel this five-year account and give me my phone back. They would not do it. The representative told me to speak with manager who was not at the store at that moment.
Their 1-800 customer service sucks, the agent who took my phone call was not understanding, I asked for a manager or supervisor and the supervisor David was very rude and not helpful. He blamed me for doing the trade off; it wasn't his fault if I didn't understand what a trade off means. He said he didn't go to my house and asked me to trade off the phone. I was obviously naive, I didn't think what they would do with the info, I trust them that they will erase the information from the phones before taking them. They don't disclose anything about this, no disclaimer or compliance about the use of data. Even if it is going to the garbage they should tell you what is that they do with it.

Needed a new phone and this HTC was free. Great. No problem. Purchased insurance for $7.00/mo. The next week returned to store to buy a cover. Told the girl this phone was too slippery for me and I might drop and break it. Sold me a cover. The day after Xmas phone fell out of my purse. Came out of case and cracked. I'm very upset. Purchased phone on 12/15/14. Now it 12/26/14 and phone is broke. Went back to store, the guy told me nothing is 100% guarantee on breakage. Call this number since I had insurance. Called Ins # and was told $75 to replace phone. I refused to pay it. Called customer service waited 20 min for rep because it was very busy. She said I shouldn't have to pay that much since I just purchased the phone, put me on hold and behold I was back on the phone with the Insurance co. on hold again because no I want to talk to supervisor, he also said I had to pay $75.
Called Customer service back after a long wait again, I asked for the supervisor and she told me it would be over a 30-min wait to talk to them. Now I been on the phone over 2 hrs. I hung up. Today Sunday called back. A very nice guy Ceasar connected me to supervisor James **. Well he informed me I had to pay $75. The cases do not protect the phone 100%. I explained I'm a consumer and he was not siding with me. So I asked for his supervisor's name, he refused to give it to me. So all I could get out of him was home office address. Not even a Phone number. Told him I was in management for years and I know there is a chain of command. Also let him know he needs me more than he needs me. On my job I will let people know how you (Cricket) treated me and they in turn will tell people they know. Oh it will cause a few loss sales. But also let him know I will get a new phone from somewhere else. Most likely it will be free.

I see a lot of complaints about Cricket. I am still waiting on a $50 rebate, and it has been 90 days since I activated service with Cricket. First, when I came to the store the special that was being offered was a free phone after mail in rebate. So, being frustrated with Sprint I chose to go with Cricket - since they use AT&T’s network. After my submission, I received the post card notice that the submission was invalid. I brought it to the store where the phone was purchased and the customer service rep told me not to worry about it, but that he would help me fill out a new form for re-submission. When I was about to mail the new form, I realized that customer service representative filled out my address incorrectly.
So, I called the toll free number to see if this would be an issue or if they could the address that they have on file for the submission. I was not required to submit the form, the agent on the phone claimed that he corrected the problem over the phone - that was over a month ago. I checked the status online and it still reads in valid submission. I am not happy with the free phone - I was hoping to use the rebate to offset the cost of a new one. I imagine that my frustration level would be through the roof if I purchased a $500+ Cricket branded Samsung galaxy s5... that's crazy! You would be better off to go on ebay or craigslist and get an AT&T phone for HUNDREDS LESS that can be activated on the Cricket network. Luckily, I did not get ripped off too bad.

This includes the $5.00 per month credit for autopay on a credit card that they had failed to credit me and I had been trying to get corrected for over 6 months. I also had a $10.00 credit balance on my account. Cricket said they don't refund anything and kept my money. Actually rude in the process. Virgin Mobil is half the price of Cricket. I explained I had a Motorola phone that needed to be repaired. The lady sent me a return label and gave me specific instructions. I sent the phone out November 28th and they received it on December 4th. On the 9th I called to find out the status of it and they said, "Oh I see the phone is still on the shelf to be looked at but we don’t service Motorola phones." Their answer to me was we are waiting to hear back from the warehouse. They would send the phone back to me when they hear back. It is now December 22nd and they still can't tell me where the phone is. I had to purchase a new phone. NOT FROM THEM. HORRIBLE customer service. We will be canceling our service. If your phone breaks, you cannot speak with customer service about your account if you do not have your authorization ID. Cricket is set up to only TEXT you your authorization ID directly to your broken or lost phone (or reset option for one) -- because of this, you CANNOT speak to a representative to CANCEL your service, change your service online or by phone, question your bill online or on the phone, or get a new phone. Why? Because they will NOT email you your authorization code or a reset for one. And you can't receive it by text because your PHONE IS LOST OR BROKEN. If you do not have a corporate Cricket store in your state (I don't) and go there with a photo ID, you cannot access your own account ever. Period. We both mailed our information the same day September 26, 2014. He got his rebate card back in October and I never got anything. Then on the first of November I received a letter stating they did not have all of the information needed so I called them and they looked and saw that all of the info was there. They told me to wait about four more weeks because they know that Christmas is here and that money will come in handy and that all was set for the rebate.
This past weekend on December 13th they told me that I was not going to receive a rebate because I was ineligible. There is a scam going on at this new cricket through AT&T and I am ready to start a class action lawsuit that will cost them more than the $50.00 they promised for the rebate if they do not get my rebate back to me. I am now on hold with them since 8:30 a.m. and it is now 8:53 a.m.
That is how they handle customer complaints. They want the customers to hold so long that they hang up. I am ready for a class action lawsuit. Anyone else on board? Contact me. Two days before payment was due, they sent a message that they could not process the card and that I should call 611 to update it. I did as instructed and was told that everything was ready and that the account balance was zero.
Just in case that I needed to make a separate payment this time, I called again and selected to make a payment. The voice cheerfully asked, "Great! How much do you want to pay?" Called again, and was told that the balance was zero. Later they sent another confirmation message that payment will be processed on due date. Every appeared normal. Then the phone line went dead on due date. "In order to make a call, you must make a payment first."
When I called 611 again, it asked for payment right away, without any option to check account balance or to talk to customer service. When I selected payment, it again cheerfully asked "How much do you want to pay?". Just in case this was a test for the validity of credit card, I payed $10. Well, it didn't work. "How much do you want to pay?" again.
I found their 1800 number for customer service. Told to wait about 10 minutes. Waited about 15 minutes before I got to a rep with an accent and a very noisy background. He asked for phone number again (isn't that on your system), my name, and a pin number. I don't have a pin number. There was no other option to verify identity and I was told to go to an actual shop with an id. This for a wireless company?
I was lucky that I'm at home on vacation time. Imagine what would happen if I'm in a city without their shop, or if I needed to use the phone for urgent issues? Through no fault of my own, they forced me to go through all these hoops and still could not resolve the issue. I will go to their shop now, and I may update later. BTW, the utterance of the rep was very difficult to hear, mostly due to the noisy background. After I asked him to speak slower and clearer, he cut me off. This is the attitude of customer care?

I switched from US Cellular because I was tired of paying $160 a month. I did some searching online and according to Cricket my area had 4G coverage. Also found out they were attached to AT&T using their towers so I called a few dealers and they said I got service in my area and was even told my home was 3.5 miles from a tower. Inside town my coverage wasn't any worse than we were getting from US Cellular, but inside my house we didn't get ANY! Not a single bar, couldn't call or text! But for the $70 a month savings I was willing to try to buy a signal booster. We bought the booster and it worked the first day and then again nothing after that. SO after a melt down from my wife, we switched to Verizon now and will be looking at $120 a month payments! :(
The problems I'm running into is Cricket's LACK of customer service. While we didn't have a connection in my home, I would wait online over an hour to get someone to respond to my questions. And after another 20 mins of going back and forth with them they could NEVER help me and would give me some line about the network is down no please try again tomorrow (could have started with that). Then after our switch I tried to call about returning the phones and I was told we had 7 days to return them! Which was great because we activated on a Thursday and I called the next Thursday. Well apparently you count the day you activated, even though it wasn't until 9 pm, so we fell 1 day short! :( Couldn't help or bend the rules at all. SO I asked about the rebate on our phones (pay $75 for the phone, get $75 back after activation). The person I talked to had no clue about them so he had to transfer me to the right department. I couldn't take down the number because in order to call I had to be standing in the middle of my driveway. He transferred and after some more recorded crap the line hung up on me!
I tried again the next day at my office and again after waiting on hold for 10 mins, the "customer service" person that picked up couldn't help me and transferred me. MORE RECORDED CRAP later and none of the options fit what I wanted so the recording said it couldn't help me and I should try again later! ALL I want is to talk to someone! :( SO I thought I would be smart and call a local Corporate store and get some answers from them. Someone that I could probably understand their accent and could maybe explain some stuff to me. You have to use their online "chat" if you have any questions or other issues. Online agents are extremely rude middle easterners and speak only broken English. If they don't know the answer to your question they just hang up on you. Apparently this is the accepted practice because it has happened to me at least 10 times. If you ask them about it they just say something like "is there anything else I can help you with?" If you ask for a supervisor, they hang up or tell you to go to a Cricket store. Agents are not helpful at all. I guess they have a quota of calls to take daily so if they hang up they can answer more calls.

Cricket was sold to AT&T, which uses a different network technology (GSM instead of CDMA) and this is now known as "New Cricket". We "Old Cricket" customers are being told our old phones (some bought new at Cricket for $400.00) will essentially cease to function beginning as early as January 2015. So I bought new phones from "New Cricket" on Dec 1, 2014 but they do not have enough coverage in my area to even dial a call in my own home. The coverage map totally lies, the signal is terrible - between dBm -105 and -118 in my home. Cricket refused to issue me an RMA. They say they will look into it, but I just want rolled back into the old CDMA plan with my existing phone for however long it lasts. It should have been illegal to buy customers and rush them into obsolescence, at their expense. Darned FTC hurt the consumers this time.

There is a terms and conditions in Cricket Wireless website to get a $100 account credit if you switch from some selected carrier to Cricket. There is NO start date for this promotion and it just says that the offer ends 12/31/14, meaning it's an ongoing promotion at this moment which ends on 12/31/2014.
I did a port out from MetroPCS (one of selected carrier to be eligible for this promotion) to Cricket Wireless on 2nd of November 2014. So technically, I am eligible for the promotion to get a $100 account credit because I meet all their criteria of doing the port in to Cricket wireless from MetroPCS before 12/31/2014. In that case, I should have received a $100 account credit 5 days before the end of first month's service period, but I did NOT get. When I called their customer care, they are saying I did not qualify for this promotion by telling me some start date by when my port in should have made, but their website does NOT tell anything about the start date.
Now I am feeling like I am being cheated and harassed and wasted my time. I have captured the screenshots from their website about this promotion which I am going to upload here. If I don't get my $100 account credit, I am gonna pull them to the court and take a drastic legal action against them in the case of fraud, cheating and harassment and worst customer treatment from their customer care. I just need a full compensation on this.

I bought a Moto G 4G LTE at Cricket Wireless in Burbank, Illinois. Dave the scammer salesman that sold me the phone told me they had 4G LTE coverage. Even the sign on the window claims Cricket has the most coverage of 4G LTE compared to other services. I get home and I couldn't even get my email to go through on their advertised 4G LTE with my 4G LTE phone. I couldn't even play a YouTube video without it freezing up and the circle going round and round indicating it was working on it. I took it back to the store the same day I bought it. I was told the return policy is 7 days. Come to find out after waiting an hour for the guy to wait on one customer that they don't refund the activation fee of 25.00 or the 50.00 service fee that is suppose to have 3gb of data. I told him I wanted my money back in full.
I even had him call the owner and was given the runaround. I was told to use wifi? I was like I am paying for your 4G LTE service, not wifi. I paid a 183.00 total and was offered 83.00 back after all this. I am getting the word out that Cricket Wireless is a scam. Their 4G LTE service doesn't even work. Even Dave the scammer couldn't get it to work on the phone he just sold me. Then he tells me maybe a tower is down. They are nothing but scammers after they get your money. Don't go with Cricket. I even saw this board before I bought their scam and didn't listen. I just thought it won't happen to me. I learned my lesson. I would never get this service again. I am going to get the phone unlocked and go with a more reliable service.

Cricket Wireless advertised Samsung Galaxy S5 in their Cyber Monday ad on the website. It was a great deal (too good to be true deal). The "sale" began at 3am. I live in the eastern time zone so I popped out of bed at 3 am and began my NIGHTMARE. At exactly 3:01 am when I attempted to add the phone to my cart it was "out of stock". Really? Out of stock 60 seconds into the sale! I kept trying... Like a miracle from heaven after several attempts I was able to add the Galaxy S5 to my shopping cart (so far so good). I chose my plan and preceded to checkout. I added my shipping address, my credit card info and all the other necessary requirements and pressed the "continue' button. Well... nothing happened...
The page looked as if it was loading... You know, the little thingy going round and round... but nothing happened. I waited for about 30 minutes and began to wonder if Cricket even wanted to sell the phone at this low price (I conclude they had little interest in selling the phone at this low price). I clicked a photo of my computer screen for proof that I was trying to make this purchase (just in case of a lawsuit later). At 5:30 AM I went to a second computer and began the exact same process... This time I wasn't even able to reach the Checkout... At various places in the process the website would simply stop responding. At 6 am I called the 1-800-cricket line. As expected I was placed on hold for 47 minutes.
When I finally was able to speak to a human I was told the the Galaxy S5 wasn't the "real' Galaxy S5... I about blew a gasket... then the Cricket representative told me that they were out of stock... no wait they only had 10 in stock... no wait, they had plenty. Finally, without any warning... the line was cut. I repeated this scenario 7 times, spoke to 7 different people, heard 7 different stories. At 11:45 am my Bank called me and asked if I was attempting to make a purchase from Cricket wireless. When I told them that I had gone as far as to enter my credit card info but never reached a confirmation page. The bank rep explained that Cricket had attempted to change my card 7 times so far... They felt my credit card was compromised that was the reason for the call.
I contacted Cricket again... this time armed with the information that they were attempting to place charges on my credit card without my consent... same story... I was told that there was nothing that could be done to remedy my situation or... without warning... was cut off. Today is Wednesday, two days after Cyber Monday. I have called Cricket 3 times; my wait times have been 37, 48, and 61 minutes. Each time I finally get to a human the line is cut in about 10 seconds. Looking at the Cricket Complaint Facebook page it is very apparent that Cricket had no intention of selling the Galaxy S5 at the cost they advertised. Can anything be done to get satisfaction? This company is a dumpster fire... I believe what they did with the Samsung Galaxy was intentional, and bordered on fraudulent business practices. Can a class action suit be brought against a company for practices such as I've described here?

At 3:57 pm on same date received email stating ordered was canceled due to too many lines on their service. I have NO lines on their service at all. Did not returned the 268.43 dollars to my account. Said I needed to go to brick and mortar store to get service. Went to Cricket store and they wouldn't honor the internet price and that I had to 500 plus for same phone and service. This is on top of the monies above. The phone number on their website is automated only. Got in their chat queue as customer #175, was customer number 125 when service cut off at 7 pm eastern time.
Check my account online online and a different number was on there. Called it and after 2 hours got a hold of an obvious barely English literate person. Claimed was in US, but couldn't tell what the capital of US was. Transferred me to warranty just to get rid of me and the on hold started over with getting another Indian that couldn't pronounce the name Jon. Was told I needed to go back to online site and reorder. Yeah that's going to happen. So apparently I gave ATT (yeah they bought Cricket) a short term loan until my money is returned. Already canceled card and filed a dispute with card company. Wow what a shyster company you are ATT. Filing in small claims court tomorrow on them.

That's not 4G, believe me just a sign saying 4G! Don't believe everything. The signal is very low or you don't have signal everywhere in the city. On 2014 Cyber Monday they had the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 for 50% off. I woke up at 3:00am when the deal started and after 7 hours of trying to place my order, it didn't go through. Their website is down and too slow to take the customer's orders. They just lie to their customers with offers or deals but less than 1% from customers can really place their orders. Customers Service representatives are rude and they end the conversation whenever they want to. I would not recommend Cricket Wireless to anybody. Last year I paid $550 for a Galaxy S4 phone. On November 22nd I came into a Cricket Wireless Store where they gave me a business card to a phone repairman. In the meantime I had them activate a flip phone they sold to me so I could keep receiving my phone calls while my phone was being repaired. The repair cost me $185. I went back into the store to have my $550 GS4 phone that I paid $185 to have fixed turned back on. They said they could not do it. Then I was offered $39 for my phone toward the purchase of a new phone from them.
I called a corporate office in Mesa Arizona. I then chatted online with a representative who soon cut off the call after my insistence on settling this issue fairly or I would have to file a suit in small claims court. I wish they could be penalized for doing this switch over without properly compensating their customers. I would certainly love to be a part of any class action lawsuit against the company if a lawyer contacted me. What is going on is going to cost customers millions in lost dollars on their phone purchases.

Ok I've had enough. These people are getting away with murder. They're using tactics and straight up scams that Lucky Luciano himself couldn't begin to touch. They posted a phony "buy $50 topup card and get 3 gb of data" instead of 2.5, didn't honor it and got away with it. Their system amazingly uses 8 to 10 times more data webpage for webpage than other carriers. They've actually stolen from their customers. Saw a review where a cricket employee in India wiped out a Cricket customers credit card. Now again even though they still owe me half a gb of data my data speed is so slow. It's taking one 5 mega byte app 50 hours to download. Called Cricket to explain they still owe me half a gb of data (it was advertised at Walmart, have a picture and on the webpage when I logged into my account have screenshot) and to simply let them know that when they go to the outer limits with how bad they slow down the data speed, that's a bit much.
Also when my data speed was still at full speed earlier in the month, still had issues SEVERAL times with it taking a webpage two hours or more to load videos. On that note they said "well re-topup." I'm like "I just topped up 2 days ago." Also they're severely slowing everything down even when I'm on a private WIFI network. I have to question that. They're interfering with a carrier that had nothing to do with them. I mean come on people. Are our congress people that much on the take from renegades like this that they can literally strangle their customers. I seriously wouldn't doubt that Cricket could kick in my door, take all my money at gun point and get away with it.

Company targets its victims by advertising low rates for unlimited everything service. They also advertise you can bring your own phone and number. They let you verify if your phone is compatible with their service by typing in EIN number. Even if the site says your phone is compatible it's not. You prepay for a SIM card and then it's shipped to you. It tells you how to activate phone with new SIM card. It then says phone is not compatible. You are then left without any phone service. To resolve this you have to get a compatible phone immediately or switch back to the service provider you just left. All of the transaction is done online, so it's not possible to get a compatible phone immediately. The only help they offer is tell you to buy a compatible phone. They don't give any refunds or credits on your account. As soon as you switch back they keep all of your money and cancel your account. They don't tell you any of this until after the fact.
Customer service is terrible! They laugh (literally) at the frustration and trouble you go through and then hang up on you frequently when you request to speak to a supervisor. Cricket offered an upgraded to the 4G network for a limited time. I had problems with my phone as soon as the merge started. The upgrade phones are a downgrade in the memory department. Not shortly after having a Cricket Rep downloads my contacts and pictures from my SD card, my phone started telling me: Storage space running low. They gave an extra .5 gigs of data on the new plan but that is no compensation for all the lost feature of Cricket. This is a waste because I'll have to buy a phone anyway, one that can compensate for what I lost to the New Cricket. I can't get updates for any of the apps that came with the phone. I took the phone back to the store to see if there was a solution.
The Rep tried to help but had to keep consulting someone in the back of the store. I was told that I needed to buy a new SD card (by the way the phone does not come with one). I am currently using my old Cricket SD card. The SD card is not the problem, it's the phone. The storage is take up with a lot of unnecessary apps and then the space for Audio (music, ringtones, podcasts, etc) is using the rest. The problem with the storage started less than an hour after I left the store. What I can't understand is, if it is in the phone, why can't I access this to delete it? They had no answer but tried to convince me that it was from what was downloaded on my SD card. When you take the SD card out, the music I downloaded disappears from the phone. The New Cricket is a big disappointment. I'm starting to search for a new carrier but not many cover the area where I live.

I had been with Cricket for five years and was pleased. That was before they were bought out from AT&T. I went into a Cricket store in Sept 2014 to upgrade to a different flip phone. Mistake #1 on my part. I learn then they had been bought out by AT&T and the rates were lower. So for over a year, I've been paying a higher rate under OLD Cricket as she referred to them. Now, they are new and improved Cricket with lower rates on a 4G network! What a joke. I do the basic $25.00 talk and text plan. I'd been paying auto pay for years and she told me I would receive the $5.00 discount for doing, so my plan would cost me $20.00 per month. LIE #1. I was told that the network was 4G but my new phone kept showing 3G. I called and asked and was told that this particular phone only works on 3G, not 4G. LIE #2.
This new phone is a piece of crap. Battery doesn't hold a charge. Functions don't work properly on it. They offered to replace it with the same like phone. Now why would I want another phone just like the one I have when I did a search on the internet about this particular phone and it has all bad reviews. The phone is junk. They would not refund me for the phone nor upgrade me to a better phone. Said there was nothing they could do. That is their famous line in the store and with the 611 customer service #. "There is nothing we can do."
Told them I wanted my account closed then. Yet, they charged me $25.00 for the next coming month's service already and won't refund me back. Again, said there was nothing they could do. I continuously get dropped calls now. Before on OLD Cricket, I rarely got a dropped call. On new Cricket, I was getting dropped calls regularly. The service has gone downhill and the phone is crap.
I regret upgrading and letting my previous phone go which worked fine. They have stolen over $75.00 from me and I don't know how to get my money back. You call the 611 # and they tell me I have to go to the store. I go to the store and they tell me I have to call the 611 #. Both say there is nothing they can do. The rep at the store was cold and callous and could care less that I had problems. The sales rep who sold me the phone and the service should be reprimanded and written up. I call customer service, they said I had to pay $35 which was a pro rated amount from the 1st to the 12th. Also they told me my bill would now be due on 12th (the day I paid my bridgepay) instead of the 1st (bill due date before I set my bridgepay). They said this is because my bridgepay was due the 11th & I didn't pay till the 12th. My argument was that I wasn't aware of these new changes & after going into 3 stores nobody informed me & when I asked how it worked they told me they didn't know because they were still learning the new system. What's the point in a bridge pay if when you're late paying it by 1 day, they make you pay more $ to get your phone on. If I had $160 to pay cricket I prolly would have just paid the $120 (3 lines) when it was due.
I asked cricket for a courtesy this time for not being made aware of how the new system works. They told me I was aware because they told me in a text. I said, "no the text only says the amount owed ($75) & when it's due." It does not say if I don't pay before due date I will have a different bill date & I will incur the charge of a pro rate for $35. Then I asked why was the phone allowed to be cut on then back off in less than 24 hours but they couldn't explain. So I told them of the huge inconvenience this caused & how it wasn't my fault because I wasn't made aware & how as a customer I did my part & asked questions but the stores didn't properly inform me. The lady told me all she could do was give a $5 credit. I was more upset cause I felt the entire $35 should have been excused. If I have 3 lines could I have not at least got a $5 credit for each line! I filed a complaint over phone with her but she kind of pushed me off as if she didn't care to hear the names at these stores or the stores' addresses. Oh, this has got to top the charts for the worst phone company (if that's what it's calling itself) I've ever dealt with, PERIOD. I've had AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile and another smaller no contract phone company in Ohio called Revol. Cricket is by far the worst of all of them. All of their customer service people are some kind of thick accent foreigner who cannot be understood or understands your problem because of their poor English. THEN when they say they are going to transfer you to someone else that can help you, they transfer you right back to the same customer service number that you called in the first place. Except now, you're aggravated because you stayed on hold for 10 mins or longer, explained your long and complicated situation and had to repeat it (because of the communication barrier). All of this to still not have your problem resolved. The online chat is crappy, it kept closing for no reason, and the person on the other end has to be foreign too because the chat people give the same type of responses as the live representatives.
My other complaint is that this company can inconvenience you and not give account credits because it's "policy" that they don't issue refunds. Are they that thirsty for money that they won't do that? I can't even use my phone with Cricket and didn't find out until after I purchased the plan. So since I couldn't use the phone, I figured I'd just use it as a voice mail service until I can get my phone number (that I've had for 8 years) ported back over to T-Mobile. Well guess what..... I can't set my voice mail up from a different phone so I am missing all kinds of calls and messages. My number is trapped at Cricket and as soon as I can pay off T-Mobile, I'm going back, I will never ** use Cricket ever in my life again.

Please try again later." Been trying for the past 4 months with no avail. Lousy webmaster sending us a broken link or the IT department can't seem to get their act together. If you don't want customers to pay through the phone then don't send a link.

I purchased a Nokia Lumia 1320 from Cricket's website. The battery didn't seem to work well so I called customer service to see if they had any suggestions and to confirm the details of their return policy. I was disconnected twice. Finally, after calling for the third time, they connected me with a phone operator in India who told me that they could help me if I gave them my credit card details. I proceeded suspiciously, however I was desperate to speak with someone about what to do with the phone (the website stated that it must be returned within seven days). After giving my credit card number, the call was disconnected. Sure enough, my credit card was stolen and I have no doubts it was from that call.
After this nonsense, I sent it back (still within 7 days mind you). Two months later, they sent me the phone back saying that I had not returned it in time (they were somehow just deciding that two months later?). In the end, I had to have American Express cancel the charge, speak with an additional 3 customer service reps (after being on hold for over an hour twice and being hung up on!), and write a letter to AT&T expressing my anger.
Basically, if you make the mistake of using this horrible service, be prepared to be frustrated, robbed, and disconnected from customer service representatives. And for safety measures, buy it with a reputable credit card like AMEX in case you need additional protection from their games. This is the first bad review I have ever written. PLEASE DON'T SUPPORT THIS COMPANY AND ITS TRICKS.

Cricket continuously rips me off the $5/mo discount they promised me for authorizing automatic bill pay. I have to call them every-other month and get stuck on hold for 10 min each time until they figure it out. Their music-on-hold is loud and obnoxious and their customer service people are very hard to understand due to thick, foreign accents, of course. When I called them today they said I will never have to call them again for this problem, yeah, right!...I'll believe that when hell freezes over. When this phone starts going downhill I'll be chucking it and upon buying a new phone I'll also subscribe to a new wireless carrier. My wife also has Cricket and I could write a book about all the bad experiences she's had with them and her supposedly "smart" phone....what a crock!

I was told, and it says it clearly on their signs, that international texting was included with my plan & my mom's plan & we needed that cause my mom was going to EGYPT. My mom gets to Egypt and there is absolutely no international texting. That was a complete lie & false advertising. My mom & I couldn't get through to each other no matter how hard we tried. Cricket is cheap, yes, but they're also kind of con artists.

They never know what they are talking about. I would not get a phone with them now. It's crappy service.

I signed up for cricket wireless service at their store at Meridian and NW 63rd Street in Oklahoma City in July 2014. I signed up for autopay system to avail $35.00 per month service. The customer service lady who signed me up told me that first month would be $40.00 but from the following month onward, it would be $35.00. She took all my credit card info and put them in their system. The following month my service was suspended. I was surprised. I contacted Cricket Wireless customer service by dialing 611 from the phone and told them that there should be no suspension of the service as it is set on autopay.
The customer service representative first tried to charge me $40.00 again. However, after a little argument he finally agreed to give me a $5.00 credit. I paid him $35.00 on phone and service was restored. I told him to make sure that this does not happen again. He told me that he had made sure everything is right and I will be charged automatically every month $35.00 for my service to my credit card on file.
Last month my service disconnected again. I contacted them again. This time they want me to pay them $40.00 for monthly service and $5.00 late fee also. I told them that it was supposed to be autopay. They say they do not have any info in their record to suggest that it is autopay. They want to give me $5.00 discount and want me to pay them $40.00. I told them to either take $35.00 that I am supposed to pay or I am going to disconnect service. They do not care if you disconnect their service. I talked to their store manager and their online manager. They both were unable to resolve the situation. I want everyone to know "DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CRICKET WIRELESS. It is about 2 months that network doesn't work at all. Google map, forget about it. It gets disconnected while I am talking, "No Network Connection!" I have been a Cricket customer for five years, with very few issues. Because Cricket changed over to New Cricket, and my old phone was only 3G (the new network is 4G), I decided to upgrade. I've upgrade phones a couple of times over the past five years, with no issues of note (I'm not thrilled that Cricket outsources its customer service and the agents aren't versed enough in English to be able to help me with things that aren't on their scripts, but I can get over that; the plans and the phones are inexpensive enough to make it worthwhile).
I received my new phone yesterday. I went online as instructed to activate my phone, and the old phone stopped working, as expected. Unexpectedly, however, the new phone failed to work. Any phone call I try to make connects to Cricket and tells me to hold while they transfer me to someone who can assist me, then it disconnects (Which I suppose should be pretty telling: maybe no one there can assist me).
I called them from another phone last night and spent 45 minutes being instructed to go into my phone's settings and program the hell out of the thing - things that should already have been programmed. I'm not tech savvy enough to get into it here. Suffice it to say, I spent 45 minutes on the phone, only to be told, "Wait an hour or two, then your phone should work." It did not. This morning, from work, I did a live customer service chat and was told that everything looked fine on their end and the phone should be working. It's not.
The customer service rep kept repeating that they're very sorry for the inconvenience and they understand my problem. Ultimately, though, she did nothing, except tell me to wait another four to eight hours for my service to work. I asked what happens when it doesn't ("Waiting" seems like the dumbest plan I've ever heard). She said, "It will." I said, "They told me that last night - 1 to 2 hours and it will work. It didn't." She said, "I understand what you're saying, but this time, it's true." Oh. Okay. I advised her that if my phone isn't working eight hours from now, I will be calling back - to cancel my service and demand my money back. This is insane. DO NOT sign up with Cricket Wireless. Over the past five years, I've never had a problem with them until now, but this problem is absolutely unacceptable.

I have been with cricket since I moved from Las Vegas to Oregon about 3 yrs ago. I went to cricket because Metro PCS was not in Oregon back then. 4 months ago Metro came to my town. When I signed up with cricket I loved them, no problems what so ever. At least up until 3 months ago. I Heard At&t was buying out cricket, so I went into the cricket store I have dealt with for 3 yrs. I asked them about the At&t plan to buy them out. I believed everything they told me. Went home to talk to my fiancee that night and talked about the 5 lines for $100. Could not pass it up. She was still with At&t because she was still in a contract...imagine that, A CONTRACT. ANYHOW HER CONTRACT WAS FINALLY up in June 2014 so we waited a month for her contract to expire and canceled att and that day went to cricket.
The biggest mistake I ever made, literally. The store manager I had talked to a month earlier was there (remember this part for later). I asked "do you remember me from last month?" She said "of course I do." Hahaha.....well I did it. I had a HTC One V I bought 3 yrs ago. The only line and phone I had at the time.
I started talking about att again and she was like, "yes it will be the best thing for cricket." I asked "in what ways," and I quote "in every way" so we looked around. And decided to go for it because its too good to pass up, right? We have 3 teenagers, 2 girls and a boy. So after debating and talking to the manager, I asked the question......"will these phones work with the att takeover." She said "yes, they will switch right over when the time comes."
Ok now today is 10-21-14, that was at the beginning of June. I purchased 2 Iphone 4 for the 2 teen girls and 2 galaxy s4 for myself and wife. I did not have cash to purchase out right. I had told her "in Vegas I bought a phone from Metro on payment plan, do you have something like that?" She replied yes and ended up signing the paperwork for 4 brand new phones. The total moneys for the phones came to almost $3000.00 with interest and everything total out the door. And as I did several times during the 3 hrs we were there, "they will work with att?" every time her saying "yes." Out the door we went home to surprise the kids, everyone smiling, setting up the phones having a awesome family night I will never forget. Those nights just don't happen very often nowadays!
Going back to what I wrote earlier, had no problems what so ever for 3 yrs with these people. Well, that all changed. About a week later it all started. I was not getting calls nor could I make them. I thought it was just the service, it will get better. That night it did not get better. So I asked everyone if they were having problems with there phones....they all said yes except my boy, he had my old HTC One V. Needless to say I contacted Cricket's so called customer service about the issues. They couldn't help so they transfer to support. WHAT A JOKE. So that was the first of seven tech, 2 tickets. After I had hung up I wanted to play around in the garage, tried to use MUVE MUSIC and got the first of many error messages stating "you are not subscribed to muve music, please contact customer support." So I figure wait the allotted time, 48 hrs for the tech 2 to call.
Well 3 days later no call. So I called customer service back. Oh "I AM SORRY" WHICH IN 4 MONTHS I have heard a bazillion times, that was the first escalated ticket made for my account. Yes, the next morning a tech called me. I explained the problems I was having, like I have probably 200 times since then. He said "well I cant really help you, go back to the store you purchased it from." OK, so I go back to the store, the same manager and she flat out tells me, "well your phone is 4g but you will only get 3g until att finish the takeover at which time you will have to buy a new phone." "EXCUSE ME, What DID YOU SAY..."She replied...."yes, buy or trade your phone in March 2015 because this phone will not work with the gsm network."
Uhm...I didn't know what to say. So the next thing that came out was just my phone or all the phones on my account? Her reply...."all your phones!" I almost passed out. I said "just 2 to 3 weeks ago I purchased these phone from you for around $3000.00 and you guaranteed they would work"... She said "I never said that!" Wow. I left and on the phone to 611 again...mind you I went in to the store that day because the cricket tech told me to...unresolved.
Anyway you get the gist of this story, it has been 4 months now and 7 phone calls and detailed messages to Corporate cricket which none were returned.... SEVEN TIMES. I HAVE NOT LEFT CRICKET BECAUSE I AM STUCK. I can't use the phones with any other provider. AND HERE I SIT WRITING THIS FOR YOU ALL TO SEE, KNOWING THAT I HAVE 3 OPTIONS AT THIS POINT: 1. stay with cricket until March and keep paying my bill every month with no or little service. 2. just take the $3000.00 loss and throw the phones out and go to a different provider. buy all new. 3. keep trying to contact cricket and hope just once I get someone that works for the company that actually cares and at least try to help me.
I just don't know what to do...I have 5 people I have to feed, clothe, house and to try to keep happy. I am not a rich person, nor am I poor. But $3000.00 just to throw out is not a option. Until tonight and finding out that there is many of us that were screwed by cricket and At&t...we do have another option, it may or may not result in new phones or phones that at least work with the GSM system, but we can make a stand and start a class action lawsuit. As for me I believe that if we stand together as consumers we could make a difference and teach our children this is not right, and when its not right take a stand whether you win or lose.
I am talking to a lawyer as soon as I find one here in Tigard, Or. If you feel the same way please email **. Let's do this! I am tired of being on the phone hearing the same promises from this company with no results! And mind you I didn't even write about the other 7 tech that never called or how many more cricket employees were rude and did not care.

I’m from the Boston area and I have to say you people are just speaking too fast, Cricket did not buy aio. Aio was AT&T prepaid brand, cricket was a small company from California that sucked but what happened is aio was getting sued by t-mobile and AT&T acquired cricket and merged aio and cricket but kept the cricket name, no law suit and now cricket is the best prepaid cellphone provider, no contracts, better plans, more discounts and the AT&T network the second largest in the US. And only by a smidge compared to verizon, the biggest of all, so unless you live in the middle of nowhere cricket is the best option now not then and the verizon phone thing - if the phone don’t support 4g lte then you ain’t gonna get it. I walked into a cricket store looking for a better at&t deal and I got it, I have the lg g3 korean version and it can only work LTE on the 700 MHz band WHICH ONLY AT&T HAS AND CRICKET. So I walk in the store because for 60 with at&t you get 2.5 gigs, at cricket you get 10 gigs and if you do run out they put you down to 128 kbps which you can still check your emails, facebook, it’s just gonna take a bit.
I have great service and I also now work for the company and from the heart i haven’t found no gimmicks. You do pay for what you get, don’t expect to call anywhere in the world unlimited for 40, 50 or 60 bucks when others charge a leg for the same. I promise this cricket service is as good even better than AT&T, I expect it to take over the prepaid game. I even still have my AT&T APN settings on my phone, I get about from 7 to 10 MB UP AND EVEN BETTER UP 5 lines 100 dollars, beat that. Plus 100 credit when you port from t-mobile or metro pcs. You want a signal in the basement in the hospital go Cricket, you will love it. You will love us.

I bought an HTC Desire 510 at a Cricket Wireless store in Yulee, Florida 2 weeks ago. I bought a case, a protection plan, and an extra charger too for $271. After 2 days I noticed that I was not getting incoming calls or missed call alerts while at my home. I attempted to resolve the problem online with customer service reps. They were not knowledgeable about the situation and recommended I return the phone. I contacted an HTC rep and they were also unable to help.
I took the phone back to the store within the 7-day return period. The "manager" at the store, Carla attempted to help me with the phone. She replaced the SIM card, had the signal boosted, and reset the phone to factory settings. I took the phone home and it worked that day. The next day it began to have the same issues intermittently. Last night it was having the same troubles as it originally had, no incoming calls, no missed call alerts, and then it stopped giving me incoming text messages as well. I also could not successfully retrieve my voice mail.
I called the Cricket store today. They told me to come in with my receipt. I did so, only for them to refuse to refund my money on the phone or any of the accessories. I expected to have to forfeit the monthly phone service charge, and perhaps even pay a restocking fee, but I never dreamed they would absolutely refuse to refund any portion of the $271 that I spent. Buyers beware! Do NOT go with Cricket.

I changed to Cricket cell phone service a year ago because I was tempted by the very low monthly cost. But now, if there is an example of "You get what you pay for", Cricket is it. The first three months I had Cricket everything worked well. I didn't particularly like the Muve Music Chorus phone they gave me but at least I could make a call/receive a call when I needed to. Then all the trouble started with my voice mail. Half the time when I tried to access my voice mail I would get a "the feature code is not valid" pre-recorded error message. I called Cricket multiple times about this, all they could do is reset my voice mail (which deletes all the messages I received), and tell me to turn my phone off then back on. When I'd go to access my voice mail I would get a message saying "x number of messages have expired and been deleted", the x being the number of messages I had.
Shortly after, I started to get sick and I was seeing a specialist my primary care physician sent me to. Lots of tests, and a minor surgery to biopsy tissue... my phone is continuing to act up, with voice mail being available on a strictly part-time basis. Then just when I needed it to work the most, no voice mail indicators, nothing to indicate someone has been blowing my phone up trying to get hold me me. I go in for my next scheduled appointment with the specialist and find out my doctor has been blowing my phone up leaving seven voice mail messages trying to get hold me to tell me I have cancer and I need to get up to a cancer clinic in Spokane right away!
I called my voice mail from the parking lot, and sure enough "9 messages have expired and been deleted". Seven of them were my doctor, and the other two I'll never know who they were because of course I never got to hear them! Avoid this company, they totally do not understand that people need their phone service to work reliably.

On October 3rd I saw a Cricket android phone on sale at Walmart and as I needed a phone badly I bought and activated it. I purchased the $50 unlimited data text and calling plan. The usual data is unlimited but slowed down or throttled after 2.5 gb of usage. All seemed well. On the 5th I called *611 for account info. I was very surprised to learn that I'd already used half my 2.5 gb of data in two days because I'd been on the internet less than 30 minutes. I called customer support and spoke with a lady who basically just stuttered and said hmmmm a lot but gave me no answers. On the 9th I got the system standard text message that said I only had 10% of my data remaining.
I went ahead and used that up and when I did my internet connection went dead. I called customer service and asked what was up. I was told I used my 2.5 gb so no more internet until I pay for another month of service. I explained that my service can be throttled or slowed down but you cant stop it as I paid for unlimited. She said "yes we can and no more internet until you pay." I said "ok. Let me call my congressman's office and see what they think of this" and hung up. About 30 minutes later my internet was working but it would take 2 hours for one page to load. In my opinion that's slowed down waaaaay too much. On the 10th I was looking at my AVG security app and noticed a feature I'd never seen before. I ran a scan and it showed that from the start before I used any data my total data package size was only 2 gb instead of the advertised 2.5.
I called customer service and explained what I'd found. The guy said "ok let's take a look." He said, "Between the 3rd and 5th you only used 14 minutes worth." Back up. Two things. There's a huge difference between minutes and gb. Also I called him on the fact that "ok you said ONLY 14 minutes yet above as I stated I was told on the date by which I'd accumulated only 14 minutes of usage I'd already used half my 2.5 gb." Then he said, "Oh we don't go by gb. On our plan we just allow a flat 410 minutes of usage." It's plainly advertised in the box 2.5 gb then your data speed is slowed down. Then I let him know all these calls had been recorded and he said bye. Before anyone even says it, check the state law on that for the state in which I live. You don't even have to talk the other party you're recording them. It's obvious to me Cricket Wireless has crossed a line other service providers haven't even come close to. I think it's time for a class action suit.

At $40/mo ($35 w/ auto-pay), it's a steal. A very good deal indeed. But pay attention to what's NOT on the plan description pages:
On the $35 plan, you get unlimited domestic talk/text, which is nice. What they don't say is that International calls and texts are IMPOSSIBLE on this plan. No pay-per-message or pay-per-call, just IMPOSSIBLE. On the so-called International plan ($50/mo), you can place calls and texts to 35 countries, which is nice. What they don't tell you is that calls and texts to OTHER countries are IMPOSSIBLE, just as above. No pay-per-use, just not possible.
I shouldn't have to check whether international texts and calls are possible. Every other mobile provider offers this so it didn't occur to me that it was even possible for this service to NOT be offered. When I contacted them to ask how to pay for international calls and texts, they just pointed me to the legal page that only explains what *IS* possible and doesn't mention any other options outside of those 35 countries and unlimited packages.
You win, Cricket. You suckered me into a month of service by leaving out crucial information from your product pages. I hope you're proud of yourself, goodbye! At least I learned a valuable lesson. Never assume anything, even if you've never seen a provider without international service (however expensive it may be), you still need to check everything. Next time I'll make sure to check whether the service will work both inside and outside of the house and I'll make sure to ask if it will work while I'm drinking or eating as well. You never know!

I received the SIM cards, inserted them, and other than WiFi, had no phone or data. Repeated contacted Cricket customer service. Over and over I was told it was a Verizon problem; the phone was unlocked. I contacted Verizon support again (ever try that when you are no longer a customer?!) and was assured that the problem was Cricket, not the phone.
Contacted Cricket again and finally got a smart, helpful person (Gloria) who gave me APN settings. Bingo! I was making calls. BUT my internet connection sucked. Then Cricket took over and the service went downhill. There would be no service for days on end. Then it would reject phone calls telling callers international calls were not allowed. Voicemail settings would change overnight and you'd have to re-record your voicemail greeting and re-set all your settings again. Complaints to their customer service department was a waste of time. A few months ago I re-signed up with Cricket Wireless under their new plan. The advertisements both on the website and on the door of each store said/says: Get a free Nokia Lumia 630 4G phone. The problem is, the Nokia Lumia 630 is not built as a 4G device. It is a 3G phone and Nokia's website, as well as any other website that reviews the phone, says so. Now I love the phone, particularly the Windows format and the ease of use. What I don't like is being deceived by Cricket in their advertisements. Sell the phone, not the lie!

Just found out today in March my Cricket phones will no longer be supported by Cricket. Therefore I must buy new phones because of the merge with AT&T. This just outright scamming. I have been with Cricket for ten plus years. However as long as I have to buy new phone I may as well get a new provider as well. I can not believe they expect long time customers to buy new phones because they will no longer support the phones they sold us. How often is this going to happen or why don't you just rent the phones to customers. Whenever you need more income you could just raise the rent. Until you piss them off so bad they go elsewhere. That's good business. Keep up the good work. Not a happy customer.

I wanted to offset my monthly phone bills by pre-paying a portion every month. So for a period of 18 months, I used my bank's bill pay to send checks to Cricket for a portion of the bill. As I pay most of our joint bills this way, it was automatic and my husband was supposed to be paying the remainder (I thought) of the bill from his checking account account. After 18 months I learned that the money that was being sent to cricket was going to an incorrect account number - one cricket provided me mind you. It wasn't my account or someone else's account per cricket just an "account" out in cricket Neverland. So after determining this I requested a refund. I did get as far as being sent a letter that read that I needed to supply them with the bank account number that the money was deposited to. What? No! I sent money to cricket, you didn't send it to me.
Every time I called over a period of several months, I just got the runaround - "You need to talk to customer service, who said you need to talk to billing and or bill pay who said you need to talk to customer service" and round and round we go. I was never permitted to talk to a supervisor or manager although I pleaded to do so multiple times. I was never even able to talk to the same person every time I called and got a different story from each one - and I called probably 50 times. Finally I just gave up and lost about $2,220 dollars.

After 10 years customer with AT&T we tried Cricket (later known as a sister company to AT&T) for a better deal with our family plan, telling us Cricket was the same as AT&T but just a better option to treat old customers. We were told no contracts of any kind, no hidden policy being same as AT&T. Make a long story short, we started middle of August 2014 and the poor quality of the wireless phone voices specially the smartphone distorted voice to the extent that most of the conversations by the smartphone were cut off because of distortions.
My husband who was using the new smartphone purchased from the Cricket store in Silver Spring a LG Optimus L70 Android started complaining saying the device and the service of the Cricket was 70% below the quality with compare to the iPhone 5S with AT&T. He lost many of his contacts and the data after transferring to Cricket. After discussion within the family he decided to return to AT&T. When he complained to the store manager he was threatened of 4 months locking of the device. But because he was planning to upgrade his iPhone 5S to iPhone 6, didn’t bother and decided to return to AT&T.
When in the AT&T store trying to return the agent found that the phone number was also blocked by Cricket. We called and chatted with the Cricket several times. They never argued but even were showing to help but never released our old phone number. We could change the phone number but that number was 10 years old and didn't want to lose it. After trying to return to AT&T for the smartphone, I had a threatening phone call from Cricket that we have to pay for the next bill an amount of $75 on the spot otherwise the service will be terminated immediately. It was so unprofessional and embarrassing that we thought that's it, we can no longer stay with this company. We paid the money but the next day cancelled our family plan with Cricket and returned to AT&T. However the main phone number has not been yet released.

Like most people, a year and a half ago I bought an expensive iPhone 4 with cash at a cricket store. At first I noticed I didn't quite get the same signal levels as friends with the same AT&T iphones but it was pretty good service for the money I was saving. Sometimes at the lake or on road trips I wouldn't get reception but in all I was happy with the service. A while later I even enrolled in auto pay to save 5 dollars a month off my bill, it's like 58$ a month.
When Cricket merged with AT&T all the troubles began. Every day dropped calls in my house, people need to call me twice before my phone will ring. I'm now known as that guy with a crappy cell phone. I have a million voice mails on my iphone (997) that I can't delete and I'm currently unemployed so I could be missing calls from potential employers.
The Cricket store which is about a mile away is full of idiots that just want to sell you a new phone. They offer no help whatsoever to old cricket customers. They refuse to issue any real credit for the old incompatible phones toward the newer network phones. And the store can't enroll me from auto bill pay, I have a call corporate but every time I call them it drops my call due to the lousy service I get on the old network. ** YOU cricket. I'm done with your lousy way of treating customers. I'm just going back to a home phone 10$ a month for now.

I took my 14 year old granddaughter in to the Cricket location on Maryland Parkway and Silverado Ranch in Las Vegas Nevada 89123. She told the manager ** that her screen on her phone was not coming on anymore and that she had got as a gift and that she hadn't had very long. ** said he could put her into the same phone after her had played with it and did a few things on his computer which nothing worked. So he went and got the same phone and he set it all up. However we asked if we needed to do anything on our side to help him and he said he had it handled. We had told him that for some reason she constantly would have problems with that phone which he said he could set her up with another one but it would be more expensive.
I being her grandmother was okay with it because I was going to pay the difference anyway. So ** set the new phone up and we paid the difference and prior to leaving my granddaughter asked ** how long would it take to have all of her stuff to update and if he had put her SD card in the new phone that we had paid for and he replied that it would take 30 mins and yes that the SD card was in the new phone from her old phone. After we left she had gave it over 30 mins and still nothing had updated and when we called back the store was closed.
The next day we went back to the store to see why the phone wasn't updating and ** said he had forgot to put the SD card from her old phone which had her graduation pictures and a friend that had passed away on it along with many school trips that she had taken and over 3 years of events and family things on the SD card. ** said that he had sent it back to the company because it had been opened and that he would try to get a hold of them by E-mail and that he would call us. So a week went by and no call so we went back in and he said he still hadn't got a E-mail from them. Why he couldn't pick up a phone and call someone I don't understand. So we kept going in to the store and he would tell us things that he thought we wanted to hear and then he handed us a SD card and said it was my granddaughter's and when she put it in and looked at it, it wasn't hers - it was blank.
He then asked if she wanted the blank SD card and we said no and that we wanted to speak to someone over him and he wouldn't give us anyone's number. So I called several locations and they were afraid to give out any information too. It wasn't until I got a hold of a new girl that worked at the Flamingo store that said she would give my number to a Steve ** and he never called. And then I went back to the location where ** was the manager at and I was able to speak to one of the worker there and he had said that ** had told Steve ** about what happened. I even asked who was the owner or who was over this Steve ** which isn't calling me back.
There were over 700 pictures that she can't get back and no one even cares. This is a 14 year old child and this is how you treat her. Shame on this store Cricket. I will take this to small claims court if no one wants to try to fix this. This ignoring a customer a 14 year old who did nothing will leave me to do a small claims and let the Cricket Corp. know how their franchises are treating customers. Also there is theft going on in that location which I have witness to hearing that as well as what we have been going through. I am not with Cricket. Thank God but I gave him my cell number as well as I left it with 2 girls at the Flamingo location and at the location that we bought it at with **.
My granddaughter's number is ** but you need to talk to me as I have been the one handling this and was there at the time and doing the calling around and taking her in to the store at least 4 times. I ask that you return my call on this matter please or we will be going before a small claims judge for the amount of $5,000.00.

Hi, My name is Maria ** and I am mother and caregiver to my 31 year old son Christopher **. Nine years ago he was hit by a cab and has a TBI, blind in one eye and prone to seizures. Because of his anti-seizure meds, he sleeps a lot. So on August 27th about 2:00 in the morning, my phone woke me up and it was from his number. I know for a fact that he is always asleep at the time. His anti-seizure meds knock him out right after taking them at 10:00pm. So I yelled in the phone, then went to his room and saw for myself that he was dead asleep. On his bed and his phone on the floor. What I did hear was a guy and a girl talking to each other. I kept yelling in the phone, but either they did not hear me and would not answer. But I believe they could not hear me. So I hung up and went back to bed.
The very next day, he got a text warning him he could be cut off for non person to person calls. First of all with his brain injury and memory loss, he didn't and doesn't even know or remember how to do this if he knew. It is a simple flip phone. So I called 611 on his phone and spoke to a customer service rep and he was the only one who was nice about this whole mess. I told him what happened and he assured me that my son would not be cut off. That the problem could be lines crossing, or trouble with the towers. Long as his bill was paid, it would be ok. I, like a dummy though, did not get his name. So all ok.
That was until the 5th of this month. They did cut him off, and so he called back, as did a good friend and myself. My friend said the rep got really nasty with her, said she tried to get a supervisor and still no help with this matter. I too called and told them about what happened and the call to the first rep I spoke and what he said. They supposedly record or monitor conversations. So why can't they find the guy who told me they would not cut him off? Or explain to me why one says one thing, and another says another.
My son is disabled and this phone was not just for fun, but a life line to me, when we are not together, in case of emergency. So for at least 3 days he was without a phone. He had no money and neither did I to get him another someplace else. So we borrowed $79 to get him on till we can figure things out. Now, yesterday I called to ask them what they are taking out of his checking account this month, cause he should pay less, being it got cut off on the 5th and it is not due till the 25th. I was told they already did take it out. I also told them DO NOT TAKE OUT ANYMORE.
All in all, the whole thing is a mess. The number you call for help has ridiculous recording for trying to get the help needed. Second, all except one rep was not very professional, and some even nasty. I think my son deserves to have the payment for this month refunded, plus a partial refund of the phone itself, since he can not use it, and/or $79 for the phone, service, and activation fee he had to borrow to pay for another phone. He is on disability and gets very little. And this phone could mean a matter of life and death with him.
It happened before, where he had no phone for whatever reason, lost or stolen. But he had a seizure that wouldn't quit and was rushed to the hospital. Thank God for the kindness of a stranger who had a phone and my son was able to tell him "call my mom". Cricket is being very cruel and nasty to someone with a traumatic brain injury and I will make sure anyone I know, knows about it too. All you all needed to do was investigate this and maybe give him the benefit of the doubt. There are many people in this world who do not understand him or others like him. They are not **, but they don't have the mental capability others do. I would swear on a stack of Bibles or to be struck dead by lightning, if I am lying. Thanks for listening, but I have already contacted the BBB, cause this was so wrong. And why a stupid rule for a three way call anyway? Do we live in Russia? If it is two others we know, what's the harm? But we are done, and if my son gets any support from family and friends, they will tell everyone they know, DO NOT GO WITH CRICKET.

About 5 Months ago--My daughter lost her phone--which was also on my account. I called to "Turn The Service OFF" Because we were not going to be needing it! Thus, I should NOT be billed for it! However, I was NOT informed until the next month--when the bill was due again--being charged STILL for "Two" lines on my account rather than just mine--and was informed "Oh, we were "saving" that number for you, you have to "DISCONNECT" the service." Ok, so for the NEXT FOUR MONTHS I attempted to do just that and was STILL/AM Still being BILLED for TWO lines, not one. For some reason--every time I called--and was switched to India and everywhere asking for this Service and Bill to STOP no matter what they called it... didn't find out until today.
Went into one local store who could not fix/credit my account--that the notes all said THEY kept "SUSPENDING" my service thus NOT 'DISCONNECTING, TERMINATING, OBLITERATING" whatever THEY call it to STOP the service and STOP Charging me for it. I still had to go to another store, "a CORPORATE store" before they could actually 'STOP-DESTROY-TERMINATE" etc.. that second phone line---and even after all that my "Credit" was $57.00. The Bill has been $100.93 or so EACH month (last 4+) I've been trying to "fix". So today this "Credit' is actually Them finally "adjusting" my bill to reflect the one phone line, no actual Credit or REPAY for the last three plus months they have OVER CHARGED ME. Then I call when I get home--Again--and get the one lady telling me they are "crediting" me today as the phone has now been "DISCONNECTED--OBLITERATED ... (crossing fingers)... and she tells me that is ALL they can do--just 'credit' me today which is NO credit but an 'adjustment' to what it should have been for months!
I ask for a Supervisor and she tells me the same thing and I ask--ok, am I just 'OUT' then the other 150-200 Bucks?! I have paid OVER the last few months--having called in EACH Month trying to Obliterate that other line--no matter what "NAME" they call it--Suspend Service--Disconnect--Terminate--Obliterate--Nuke---all the same to me--til now. Then the Supervisor tells me, "Well, you can either take this $57.00 "Credit" (really adjustment for this current bill--finally) OR I CAN PAY THE $100.93!!!" WTF.. Seriously? She actually said that to me!! I have been with Cricket for something like 10 Years or so!!! NEVER have I ever run across such CRAP!
Guess I am now going to another provider! Guess I am just out MY MONEY and Time and Emotional BS for TRYING to get them to FIX this issue... no matter WHAT name they call "Disconnecting--Suspending Permanently--Terminating--Whatever". Guess they can keep billing me for this one phone line too when they TURN THE SERVICE OFF! As I am SO Done!

I purchased a new Cricket Phone Model Z995. Not only is it a defective phone but I also did not receive my rebate and have spent over 8 hours with Cricket's terrible customer support people trying to resolve the issues which are still not resolved.
Let's start with the phone. The phone is $150 bucks, so low end but you would expect it to work. This phone will glitch out and start dialing random numbers, texting random letter texts, it will shut off on its own, it will take pictures on its own, sometimes it won't come on at all. Other times it won't let you dial. Once the screen goes black while you are in speaker mode it won't come back on. When you try to type a text message it won't let you use some keys closer to the edge of the screen. Sometimes it won't auto rotate. It has set random appointments in the calendar with random letters. When you have the phone up to your cheek the screen will activate and based on how you touch it with your cheek it will hang up the phone or open an app. When you remove the phone from your face to type on the screen it won't always come on for you to type. This phone is a nightmare, DO NOT BUY a CRICKET PHONE!!!!
Now about the rebate. Because Cricket's Customer Service and their Record Keeping is so Poor, they have not issued me a rebate even though I met all the rebate qualifications.
Now the Best for Last, the CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. If you are having trouble with your cricket phone be prepared to spend over 8 hours trying to resolve an issue and plan on calling them many times. Just today I called them with this ongoing problem I have been trying to resolve over the last few weeks and had to call them 8 separate times before I could finally get in touch with the correct department. Their customer service are poorly trained and sent me to every department but the right one. They do not listen to what you are saying but instead are too busy reading their script in very poor hard to understand English. It wasn't till I spoke with a Native English representative that I was finally helped and it is yet to be seen if I will receive not only the rebate but the refund for the defective phone.
Cricket has two options for sending in a defective phone. I chose the second where you pay for the phone and they send you a new one and once they receive the defective one, they refund your money. They have not refunded my money but instead sent me a second new phone. They also sent me two of the wrong shipping labels to send in the defective phone.
When I asked to speak with a manager they refused, even the manager refused. I can go on and on about the HELL I was put through but will spare you. As a business owner myself, I can only say that I would be out of business if I treated my Customers this way and they will be losing my business. I wouldn't even accept a free phone and free service from these people.
One last important note, when you go to your local Cricket retailer don't expect any help from them. They are only there to sell you the Cheap phones. They have no Customer Service. I spent over 3 hours at my local retailer Cricket Wireless at 740 Nordahl Set 122 San Marcos, CA 92069 originally trying to resolve the defective phone. They told me that you only get three days to return the phone. If it goes defective after three days of purchase, you have to call customer support. They got their money and they don't give a crap about you!

I tried AT&T network through Cricket Wireless, as my new rural location had no competitor. I first spent over an hour with both Cricket and AT&T reps, being assured there was service. So I bought a tablet for 3g internet. The service I get is 2g edge only - the tablet won't recognize it. I bought a BB Bold to tether the 2g to the tablet. And a repeater with directional antenna. Cricket shut that service down today - "Truly sorry, no support for BB". I never got one tenth of the minimal 500 MB data monthly I paid them for. Four months of hopes (and payments) for a service they knew they wouldn't provide. I will suffer satellite internet rather than continue any relationship with AT&T. They are a small shadow of what that name once represented.

I have experienced everything that is being said. It is all true. I purchased a Cricket ZTE Source phone in March 2014. In May the screen went blank. The phone was sent back. I bought another phone while waiting on the return of the phone and transferred everything to the new phone when it arrived. Ever since I have been having problems. The phone does not work in the AM, and there is spotty service in the PM. It also says that the SIM is rejected. I called their customer service who seems to mockingly apologize for your difficulty with their service. It is irritating, and the Indian accent I am not even sure it is real. They issued me a ticket number. I then called them hoping they would resolve the issue.
While trying to fix the problem, I was told that they were locked out of my account, and that I should call back in 24-48 hrs. I waited the 48 hrs, and called back, and was told that they needed another 24-48 hrs. This went on for 3 weeks. Now that the next payment is due, they told me that the account was never locked and that the ticket was closed after 1 week because I do not have money on the account and I need to make a payment so that they can troubleshoot the problem. I told them I would not pay a penny until I am assured that the service is working.
So now I am looking for good service that allows international calls since this is the main reason for the phone. I am also with Sprint and is very happy that I did not give up that number. Why must I pay for service that I am no receiving? They also tell me that the ticket was closed since I did not respond to them. I have been talking to them every 2-3 days. Now I feel as though I have been talking to ghosts all this time. In attempting to get a new ticket, I gave up after 20 minutes and 3 days later this ticket is still being processed, since I could not hold on any longer as it had made me late for work. I have spoken to every department and have concluded that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing except for the payment collection area. I did not have to cancel my auto pay because the debit card was changed due to unauthorized attempted use. Now I am beginning to think!!!! How did this happen since I use cash for all purchased or pay directly from my bank account. Please be careful with this company or else you would find yourselves out of pocket big time like the rest of us.

While searching for phone and plan, I looked at cricket. I'm already with them so while trying to order, they rejected my card. Ok no problem. I check my account today and I'm $178.91 out. I called and they would not even confirm. I tried to order and said, no record. WHY THEN DID THEY TAKE MY MONEY. The Indian guy said I would get my money back tomorrow, but couldn't tell if I even tried to order. How does he know if I will get my money back. It cost me to stop payment. The service is lousy anyway. I DON'T RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. CLOSE THEM DOWN. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DO YOU NEED?

Sprint phones sold in the U.S. are hardware locked domestically, so no other domestic carrier can ever activate with that phone. CRICKET SHOULD KNOW THIS! Instead, they give no warning on their website and simply take the $. I had to waste several hours with idiots from their tech support (with heavy Indian, Filipino, or Latino accents) before I confirmed it with Sprint and other sources. All you get is 'Invalid SIM'. The worst disaster could possibly occur if you also setup Cricket service and ported your existing # - you could lose the use of your current phone.

I bought a cricket s4 one week before cricket switched networks not knowing that it would only work until March of 2015 so I spent 490.00 on phone. Starting having problems with the phone and they said it was because it was on the old network so I ask what they would give me for the phone on trade on a s5 and they said 120.00 and I ask why it was less than 2 months old and they said just like a car it depreciates. I know of no car that depreciates over 60% in two months. I feel Cricket should make good on this and I would love to be part of a class action suit.

My husband had Cricket and loved rhe service, so I decided to take the leap over since it would be cheaper. He was already through most of his month service and my iPhone 5 wasn't unlocked so I needed to purchase a new phone. I paid $99.99 for a new phone and chose the $50 monthly plan which is discounted by $10 for a joint account. The lady told me that since my husband's month was almost up, I would not have to pay for a full month. However she still charged me the $47 for my month service and insurance.
I was told that I would receive a month service and my husband's bill was due 8 days later. My total came out to be $181.88 with tax and a few screen savers. My husband was unable to make his payment on time (the reason we got prepaid phones, we are on a budget) and they shut off my phone service as well. We called to explain the situation and they refused to refund me or turn my service back on. I am beyond angry with customer service... The best networks normally do!!!

I decided to switch from T-Mobile to the new Cricket to take advantage of the AT&T network. I bought a SIM online to do the BYOD option and everything looked good during the initial order. But the system was down once I received my SIM in the mail and I couldn't process the order. Finally, after 24 hours of failed attempts, I went to a store and they got me set up. Then the port stalled and my number never switched over. It was eventually cancelled somehow. I tried calling, sending an IM, even going back to the store, but no one could help me! They kept giving me the run around on who could help me get it fixed. After 2 tickets (and zero call backs) I just asked for my money back, but no one seems capable of doing that either! Another ticket, more IM's and another visit to the store yielded nothing but empty promises. This company is the worst!!

I've had Cricket wireless for years. It was great until now. The reason I went with Cricket was the unlimited international long distance which was included in my plan. I paid for the month of September on August 15, my phone broke on August 17 and I went to the Cricket store to get a new phone. Now I am on the "new cricket network". I tried to call long distance and got a message telling me I don't have long distance on my plan. As it turns out I no longer have long distance, hotspot, mauve music and apparently the lifeline program is also suspended! I called the help line and was told I now have to pay $65 per month for 1000 minutes of international long distance and my hotspot is no longer available! I was only paying $50 with Cricket for unlimited international calls! Had I been informed of these changes I would NEVER have paid for September and I certainly wouldn't have spent 165.00 on another phone. I would have found another provider. That is the last penny I will ever give to AT&T!

What is a cell phone good for if not to be able to call for emergency help???? I complained to my Cricket store, and they said "Oh that can't be right." But we could not call 911 without an emergency.

OK so I have been with Cricket for two years now and since they merged with AT&T they've made my life hell!! So old Cricket I had the lifeline and auto pay. So with those two helpful sources my bill was only 37 dollars. So of course we all know Cricket phones suck. My old Cricket phone broke so I had to get a new one. Since they merged with AT&T they no longer have the life line. OK so I don't have that $10 off my bill anymore so I thought well at least I'll still get the five dollars off my bill with the auto pay. Wrong was I!! They won't accept prepaid cards now. WTF!!! So I'm losing money instead of saving which of course is the whole point of going to Cricket. Not only that, when I got the new phone it wasn't what I wanted - only had it for two days and wanted to trade it in.
Note I had the box, the receipt and there was no damage to the phone. Haven't dropped it nor water nowhere near it. They kept trying to tell me because it wasn't smooth all the way around They weren't going to exchange it for me. Huh?? I am an unemployed single mother with an extremely sick baby. Cricket since merged with AT&T has been a waste of my time and money. I do not have time to waste money. They need to change something soon or they are going to lose a lot of customers. I'll give it one more month then I'm leaving. Someone help cricket.

I have fallen prey to the scam about the Galaxy S4. I am on a fixed income. I can't afford a new phone and I do not feel like I should have to buy one after 6 months. I would be interested in a lawsuit as well. About 36 hours after a heated discussion with their floor supervisor, my internet was shut off. It says I need to pay my bill but it also says that my bill is due in 3 days. It also says I have only used 60% of my data. Is it a coincidence? I do not feel it is. I did screen shots of it and would love to be able to use it in court.

I made a phone purchase in May of 2014, a week before Cricket switched their stores to reflect their new network. I have been a customer with Cricket for almost 10 years and this is the first time I have been really angry with them. I went to purchase a new phone since I had accidentally dropped my Samsung S3. I knew Cricket was updating their service so I had made sure to specifically ask the store reps if the Samsung S4 would work on the network. They reassured me several times that it would. I made the purchase only to find a few days later that it would, in fact, not work in a few months on their new network.
I proceeded to contact the store to speak with a manager about this. It took him a few days to get back to me, which happened to be passed their 7 day return day policy. Go figure. He said he could not do anything which I then asked to have him pass my information to the district manager. The district manager never called. I then spoke with a few different people at corporate, which each time I was told something that was false. Following that and a few conversations on Facebook, a man named Chris who claimed to be the head of customer service contacted me only to let me know that stores are independently owned and he could not do anything. This store on Route 14 in Crystal Lake, IL lied to me so they could make a purchase and purposely contacted me days after so it would be passed the return date. I want to remain with Cricket but after this, I just want my money back!!!

The manager said that they don't give receipts out for products purchased. That does not make any sense. I have been calling cricket and I cannot believe that no one can give me a receipt for what I bought. The person (Ronnie) I spoke to today stated there was no trace of me buying a phone. I needed the receipts for my rebates, now it's too late. I just hope if she kept the money for the phones I bought I will bring this to someone's attention that can do something about it.

I feel they are not honest. Bought a phone off of them because I felt they would be a good fit for what I needed, thinking they would be better than Sprint. Haha, what a joke. The girl at Cricket worked at Sprint so she knew what the rules were at Sprint. So I purchased inexpensive phone from her at 12:00 on 8-3-14. They returned the phone that I bought from Radio Shack Wood Haven, Great Manager. Had problems with switching number. Went back to Cricket in Taylor, very bad experience. Now I'm stuck with a phone, activation fee, paid for a months service. ALL LOST in an hours time. You better know what you want before you deal with Cricket. I'm going to tell everybody I know about this.

I bought my iPhone 4s full price when it came out, from Cricket Wireless. At the time, I didn't know anything about locking. I had my account for a while, not sure how long. 6-12 months. I wasn't getting great reception and decided to change to a different carrier. Ever since then, I have been trying to find out how to get my phone, which I own and paid for outright, to work with my new provider. Cricket refuses to let me have it unlocked. Even now, when they openly allow it, you have to have an active account and have maintained that active account for the last 6 months!! If I had an active account, I wouldn't need the phone unlocked!!! It is a complete joke! I really feel scammed out of my money. This isn't a situation where they subsidized the phone - I paid for it, full price! It is mine but you wouldn't know it. I really hope that there is a way soon to have a class action suit against Cricket Wireless. They have stolen the value of my phone as far as I am concerned. DO NOT BUY A PHONE FROM CRICKET! I was rejected service and was told I had to purchase another phone. Talking about a ripoff. Sure I'd love to be part of a class action suit again this Giant Octopus of a phone company. You would think since AIO Wireless/Cricket Wireless was created by AT&T, they would have put the proper people in place to create a company that ran smoothly and had the right tools at their disposal to solve issues. I have found that they don't. What a disappointment AIO/Cricket has been. I love to save money but it can't come at a cost. I used to blame the customer service representative located in other countries but it has come to my attention it actually the corporate office in Georgia that has no clue how to operate a business. Any issue that you have with your service, the representative has to create a trouble ticket for someone back in USA to work on. By the way, they work banker hours M-F 8-5 pm.
I have found on numerous occasions that my ticket were closed without solving the issues at hand. The website forget it. It always has issues. Currently I have an account that is open with Cricket even though I ported out. They keep billing my credit-card. I have another account that I can't access on website because it says it doesn't recognize the number. I have a iPhone 5s that I tried to order a SIM for and says my IMEI is reported as lost and stolen. I'm currently using it on AT&T. It's my phone! I could keep going for hours and hours. My list is so long! What's funny is I believe I even had a conversation with the CEO with AIO was a new company. I had a company representative contact me about my issues.
