I bought a Bell Turbo Hub on October 27th. l received a pop-up notification on my computer on September 7th advising me that my bill had reached $500 and if l wanted to accept an additionally $50 charge, l clicked yes. Then two days later received an email notification (September 9th) for my e-bill which said my bill was $2,919.00! For 2 weeks of internet.

I Called To Talk About My Bill And See If I Could Get It Lowered. Melanie **... she Is Horrible. She Said "Oh I Can Cancel This If You Want," And I Said "Can I Please Speak To A Manager." And She Said "I Am Not Putting You Through To Any Manager Just So You Can Talk About The Monthly Bill." I Was Shocked And Said "Can You Please Put Me Through To Any Supervisor Or Manager." And She Said "Nope." I Couldn't Believe What I Was Hearing And I Asked Her If She Was Refusing Me To Talk To Anyone Higher Up And She Said "I Will Not Transfer You To Anyone When You Already Know How Much Your Bill Is." I Said, "Ok Well Can I Please Talk To A Manager Regarding Another Situation," And She Continued To Refuse To Allow Me. This Is Insane!!! What Kind Of Business Is This Anyway. I Have Never Been Treated So Poorly In All My Life. Where The Hell Did Customer Service Go To!!! Unbelievable.... this Girl Needs To Be Fired For Treating Bell Customers Like Crap!!

It is almost as if after customer service ends your call, they turn to a co-worker and say "I just handled another call perfectly. I wonder what they wanted. Oh well... they'll call back." In November 2013 I got a cell phone plan with Bell. Without asking my permission they did a credit check and required a $300 deposit. The agreement was that after 6 months of positive payments I would get a full refund. 7 Months later I get a message saying that the requirement for the deposit was removed. So I called and:
First Call - the rep said she would forward my request for a refund to Accounts. I should call back in two weeks to check on the status. Second Call - Two weeks later I am informed that the request for a refund didn't go through - but they would put it through now. Third Call - No luck - still no request to process the refund. But they would put a rush request and I would get the refund in 10 business days..
So... Fourth Call - today is the 9th business day and guess what? A) I am told that the refund was applied as a credit to my account. (However in the meantime I received a bill which I paid - my online account information does not show a credit balance and I received the bill by email). So - not only had they not processed the refund, they did exactly what I told them I did not want them to do. Now I am told that I will get a refund of the $300 minus the amount of the current bill (which I already paid). Oh and I will receive this refund in 10 business days. Any bets on what happens in 10 days when I call again.

Signed a contract November 2013 for a fee of $38.75. That was my first month charge, they been adding extra every month since then. Complained in person and by telephone as well as computer. They told me I am doing this wrong, that wrong, it is always my fault, and I should learn to use the phone properly. Asked to close contract and was told there is 1 month automatic fee plus a 4-month penalty cost. I feel I was mistreated but all they could say is too bad, go elsewhere.

I had already cancelled my internet service with Bell because I was unhappy with the internet bundle that I had at the time. While on the hunt for a new internet provider, Bell called me back and gave me a different offer. Since they were already my television provider, a customer service agent told me that I could have unlimited internet if I signed up for a home phone line as well. They assured me several times that my internet would be unlimited and I would have no problems after this. After reviewing my options, I figured it was best if all of my services were from the same company and proceeded to go through with this new offer. Bell was now my television, internet, and home phone line provider. A technician even came into my house to upgrade the modem. I thought that everything was good to go from there, or so it seemed.
Fast forward two weeks to me logging into my email and seeing a message from Bell. It claims that I had already reached 90% of my internet usage limit with 15 days left of my billing period. How can that be if I had an unlimited amount of usage a month? Enraged and confused, I called customer support and after being on hold for at least two hours, I was finally forwarded to a representative. I was told that my bundle did not actually include unlimited internet even though I was assured several times that it did by different customer service representatives.
Before Bell contacted me with that unlimited offer, I had initially already signed up with a different internet provider and paid an activation fee. But after Bell offered me that bundle, I contacted the internet provider to cancel my activation. If the new bundle did not actually include unlimited internet, why in the world would I even accept that offer? It makes no sense. The customer service representative that I was on the phone with just now said that I would have to pay an extra $10 if I wanted unlimited internet, something that was never mentioned in my initial conversation with Bell. Not only was I deceived into getting a redundant home line that nobody ever uses (everyone in our household has a cell phone), but I now have to pay an extra sum of money that was never communicated to me once in the first place.
Bell's customer service is completely appalling and their advertising is deceitful and misleading. Not only was I on hold for hours, but once I was able to talk to someone, I was transferred numerous times. The Loyalty Representative I spoke to was very rude and discourteous and it even got to a point where he was raising his voice at me. As a loyal customer of Bell for over a decade, I have never witnessed such incompetent and inefficient customer service until today. I will be cancelling as soon as possible.

In November 2012, I faithfully upgraded my phone and re-upped for another 3 years with Bell for my cell phone. With some strong arm tactics I was persuaded to use the old phone as a secondary phone, as a share the minutes side line to my service. I did this. After about a week I realized that I did not need the second line and went in to the store to cancel the second line. This was never done! Shame on me for not following up but when I checked my bill it was still on there. I have been paying for a service that I do not use for 19 months and furthermore one, I requested to be cancelled. Well it is cancelled now -- I hope, but no refund - typical of Bell. This is the last in a long list of poor service, billing mistakes that I have had for over 25 years with Bell. I have been a loyal Bell customer for all those years. So no longer. At first opportunity when the damn contacts run out, I will be switching from Bell for both my personal phones and my corporate account.

I just bought my phone (Samsung Note 3) for only a month and now I didn't have it for 5 weeks. The store told me the assistant manager name Samanta dealing my case, I have been calling and left the message but she never want to contact me back. Right now, CCTS and CRTC are assisting me and investigating about this issue. Just want to give everyone a heads up and be considerate before dealing with this store.

Bell sold me the old bait and switch. When I signed up for a mobile device, they said that I could get free internet and Fibe TV for six months. As I know how this ploy works, I was sure to ask them if there would be an installation fee. They said no. I asked if I would be able to cancel the TV and keep the internet after the 6 month period without any penalties for cancellation. They said yes. As you might guess, none of this happened. On top of charging me an installation fee, as well as an extra $20.00 per month for movie channels to which I did not subscribe, they threatened me with an early cancellation fee of $150.00, stating that I agreed to a 24-month contract. Hogwash.

I have been a customer of Bell for a little over two years now and I am really angry with them for their high prices and low quality services as well as other things. Here are a few examples of how they have ripped me off. When I signed up with them, I got the hdpvr deal for two years with a 2 year contract and after two, I was supposed to keep it for free.
In January of this year, the pvr was acting up so I called to have it replaced. I was told at the bell store that they could mail me a replacement and I could install it; I would send the faulty one back and my promo would stay the same. Well, the rep on the phone said that was a lie and it has to be a new install and I have to pay $75 to have a tech come to my home and switch it out. THAT WAS A LIE. Then my replacement pvr was a newer model so I couldn't continue on the same promo. They had to restart the promo from scratch and I just got them to do that last month.
It's not my fault that their equipment is faulty but I am the one who is stuck with the rotten end of that deal. The next thing is their internet services. Where I live, I only have the 5/1 package and with 6 people in my household, that is not enough. But they have no idea as to when better speeds are going to be available in my area. I am getting charge and arm and a leg for all the services and then I get this notice that prices are going up. I already feel like i pay too much.
I tried to call last week to talk to customer loyalty to get them to fix everything but when I asked to be transferred, I got told no. And then got told that what I have is what I have and if I am not happy with it. then I am to leave or suck it up. I don't know where to turn.

How often do you have to phone Bell to correct billing errors? I have phoned every single month for at least 8 months. The latest brilliant business practice is soliciting a promotion, in this case to add Movie network at half price, only $7 per month for four months. When bill arrived, the promotion was applied for the coming month of service; however I was charged full price for the 34 days the service was active prior to the current billing cycle. And I have been reassured that since that charge was a proration until Bell deemed the promotion to become effective (unbeknownst to me), I will not receive the promotional rate I was promised for the past 34 days.

Both my wife and I obtained smartphones with Bell. After a few months we noticed that we were being charged long distance, even though we have an Aldergrove number and live in Abbotsford. That means that we are NEVER supposed to be charged long distance if we get a call from Vancouver to Abbotsford. We told this to Bell, and one of their reps told us that because we live on Sumas mountain, Bell's microwave tower is close to us, and it's in Chilliwack, so it picks up our local calls and converts them into long distance. We again went to Bell, and they told us that we would have to put all of the top people that we phone often into our Fab 10, so we don't get charged long distance. This phenomenon even happened when my wife phoned my phone when I was downstairs and she was upstairs in our own home.
This was totally unacceptable to us, and we phoned Bell back and talked to another rep, which told us that what Bell had said was completely wrong and that there had to be some way of fixing it immediately. I asked them to check into it. That was over 2 1/2 years ago. The top 1/2 of my keyboard stopped working on the 8th month. I phoned Bell about it, and even went into the Bell store to tell them about it. They put together a lengthy 2 page email together and promised that they would send it to their 'special services representative' right away. Turns out she wasn't in their store that day, and they said that they would get it to her, but she was on holidays for one more week.
We went back 10 days later to see the 'special services rep' and she did not get the email, and admitted to both my wife and myself that they had lost it, and that she had not ever gone on holidays, and said she couldn't figure out why their staff would say such a thing. This song and dance nightmare went on for another 4 months, until magically they told us that we were just 'out of our 12 month contract' and there was absolutely nothing that they could do for us. These are not stories, nor suggestions nor unprovable experiences. I was recently at a Meetup group and talked to a Bell business rep, and was telling her my story, and she cut me off in mid sentence saying, "Don't tell me they charged you long distance when you have a local number, right?" I was dumbfounded to realize that Bell apparently knows about this issue, and was only too happy to charge us long distance when we have a local number.
Let's just see how many other similar complaints existing Bell customers have with this kind of issue. What is going on with the collapse of any kind of customer care experience? My real question is this, are they listening, and if they are then when are they planning to change their policies? Interesting to note on the bottom of this form it has a box that has a checkmark if you want an attorney to contact you about your complaint. So, my next question is this, why can't Bell just fix issues before they are taken to a forum where they could possibly find themselves in court? Wouldn't it be easier to just give excellent customer service in the first place? My two cents worth.

We currently have internet with Bell back in Dec 2013. We called to add an "unlimited usage" for $10. Internet connection constantly have problem around 10:00 p.m. at least 3 times a week. Phone complaint. "They are currently working to improve connection in your area." For more than 3 months? We are ok with it. Suddenly this month's bill came home with "unlimited usage" $30. Called a CSR, said, "Oh you have only 2 services with us. You should not get this discount at first place." What??? Then asked to hold on the line for 7 minutes. She came back, "Oh that promotion no longer available". Another surprise! Promotion can be start or end by their own term. We were so upset with the call and asked to cancel. "Ok, you want to cancel?" Wait for 3 minutes. "Your cancellation requested done!" Recently BELL services is horrible. Yes we glad we ended this ordeal with BELL. Not recommend to anyone who want to subscribe.

A Bell Tech recently upgraded our Bell internet service and switched over our home phones from Rogers to Bell. I had great reservations of making the telephone switch back to Bell but we were having persistent telephone line qualities with Rogers and had no choice. We left Bell many years ago due to Bell's lack of customer sensitiivity and arrogance. Naively I thought that Bell had changed its attitude towards its customers but it turns out not so. When doing the install, the Bell Tech cut our Rogers Cable TV line unknown to him and only discovered after he left. The Tech leaves a telephone no. but does not call me back.
Technical Support tells me to call Rogers! Imagine! Bell causes an outage on my cable TV and then tells me to deal with it. Attempts to escalate this within Bell is an exercise in frustration. No one cares. Bell representatives assure me the problem will be quickly addressed but no one calls me to propose a remedy. After 4 hours chasing Bell folks on the phone and 24 hours later, I am told that "someone" will come back to my home the next day. This would be 48 hours after they cut the cable TV line.
To add insult to injury, they make the all day appointment without even contacting me. It was only after I chased them that I found out by accident of the appointment.. Technical support, customer service, customer loyalty are all totally useless. No one takes ownership. They make promises they can't deliver. I am supposed to get call back from customer service today which never happened. I so regret having made the telephone switch from Rogers to Bell. The Bell today is no different than the stale monopoly it was years ago. I wonder if the Bell Tech intentionally cut our cable TV line to get us to switch to Fibe TV! This incident is clearly a matter of gross negligence on Bell's part. The tech should have checked all our services to ensure there was no impact on our TV as a result of his install.

I went on contract in 2012. Around September 2013, phone starts losing service, no calls out or in and texts not going out and unable to receive. I go to a Bell store. They tell me to do a factory reset and upgrade. Works for a little while, but goes back to not getting service. I go back to the Bell store. They say my phones radial is broken and will need a new phone. I get a different phone, works for about a month then again no service, calls, texts. I call Bell November 2013. They tell me they are having a network issues, and it is effecting 800 different customers. Bell says they will contact me when issue resolved.
By February 2014 I call again to Bell. They say it is their network issue and give me back 50% of my bill back dated till November. Bell tells me again, they will contact me when issue is resolved. By the time April 2014 comes around and I haven't heard anything, I call in again. Well, this time they go back on their word and tell me that my second phone from them is also broken and it's LG's problem and not theirs. So, they tell me for nearly 6 months that it is a problem on their end and then decide without calling or e-mailing me that it's in fact two phones I have purchased from them are broken.
I contact the BBB and get a reply that there is nothing they can do to help me and then, they insult me, by offering, if I pay off the rest of my contract ($250) and a get another phone from them. They will give me one month of services free. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me a third time are you kidding me! I have just contacted the CCTS and waiting for a reply. I want Bell to cancel my services so I can go to a different provider.

We have a major problem with the bill we just received and when we called Bell yesterday we received little help to clear up this issue. We called Bell to cancel our service on Feb 9th, 2014 as we made the decision to move to Magic Jack for our home phone. We were told our service would be terminated on Feb 25th. As we were told yesterday the account is still active - issue number 1. Issue number 2, the bill we just received and almost had a heart attack over the calls that were made on Feb 10th and Feb 11th were NOT made from inside our house.
On Feb 10th, my husband and I were preparing for a family trip out of the country the following day, we were married in OUR home at 1:30 PM. If required I will get a written letter to confirm this from the Reverend that married us. One of the MANY calls to Belgium were made at 13:29 that day... As for the rest of the calls to BELGIUM that day and on Feb 11th again were not made from our home... Feb 11th, we along with our entire family, left for the airport at 3:30 AM. Nobody had access to our house. No alarm was triggered during our trip. Our house was not broken into.
If you look into our history with Bell, has a call ever been placed to Europe? And to top it off the numbers that are listed are for a SEX CLUB. We have no problem sending our travel documents and a letter from the Reverend for Feb 10th.. Please feel free to contact myself or P to discuss this matter - Please do not expect payment for the calls made to Belgium as we will not be paying this portion of the bill. We find it very odd we called to cancel our service with Bell and within the following few days these calls were made... So after I sent this email to Bell, I wanted to follow up and was then told Bell does not accept emails, I had to fax these details!! WHAT? This is Bell Canada we are talking about... Nothing has been resolved to say the very very least, we will be going to the media.

I just changed over to BMTS, a local internet and phone provider. I called to cancel my service and suddenly I was given a sales pitch to get a bundle with Bell. I was also told I could get a reduced phone service for my stripped down phone (only touch tone) for $24 a month but I am paying $34 a month already for my very basic phone service. Luckily I didn't cancel as BMTS is going to port my phone number to their site. The Bell rep tried to tell me BMTS would only have voice-over and if my computer was down, I would have no phone. A big lie.
I had my phone line cut off twice but nothing wrong with my line but someone tampering with the lines in my building. The first time I had a 4-day wait, the second time 6 days. No apologies, no rebate for not having service. I had Simpatico too, and my first modem failed after a couple of weeks. I had to wait a week to get a new one. Within the year, the second one failed, and they said it would be two weeks. So I cancelled Simpatico and was still billed for one month and they had the audacity to tell me to mail in the broken modem even though there is a Bell store in the mall in town! Of course I never paid the bill.

As a new customer to Bell for more than a year, my husband and I are so disappointed and upset with the way your company network. The problem we have on both of our phones is that the incoming calls will occasionally forward to voicemail without ringing. This is a continuous issue for the last 12-months. Below are the samples of what happened to us and they are more than that. This happened recently with my husband's phone that a call from a business client that had been calling him couple of times and the calls always went to voicemail. His client thought he was not in town, in fact we were not.
Another example is I called my husband's phone after work, as usual it went to voicemail. I knew he was having dinner with a friend, so I call his friend's number to find him. He told me there was no ringing on his phone. So his friend (that my husband was having dinner with) called my husband's phone for testing and of course it didn't ring. Same happened to my phone that I used landline to call my cell phone that I was holding on hand. The call went to voicemail. On 21st December 2013, my husband and I were shopping at Richmond Center and my friend called my husband and told him that she had been calling me for the whole afternoon and all calls went to voicemail.
We had visited Bell stores couple of times since the problem occurs and the representatives recommended changing new SIM cards and resetting both phones, updating software to the new version and changing a new iPhone. All have been done, but the problem is not fixed. On 28th January 2013, I called technical support to report this issue and the representative had reset both of our phones network setting. At night I called the technical support again to get help on resetting my husband's phone. After all, we felt abandon and my husband & I have reached our limit to be patient. On 4th February, I called again because the same happened to my husband's phone again. Your staff Alicia finally sent the case to Engineer department for investigation and the ticket number is **. It had been 6 weeks; there was no improvement on his network connection.
Today (March 12th) the same happened to my husband's phone again. My friend and myself had been calling him from 2:30pm till 3:34pm with no connection to him and it went direct to his voicemail. So, I called your company technical support and report this case again and request to cancel the service. I was talking to your customer care staff Rosario (staff # **) to terminate the contract. His first offer was to pay $490 as penalty or change to another device. I am sorry I am not going to pay any penalty for unsatisfactory service and the hassle that causing us. Then he talked to his supervisor and the finally offer was $290. I told him we would not pay a penalty for these type of services. My husband had lost a business of $10,000 and it was due to the contact person couldn't contact him for 2 weeks. Who is going to compensate our loss of business? Is it Bell will be responsible for the loss? He said no. So we will not pay a penny.
He told us that there is nothing he can do. I also counter-offered to return our phones to your company and he said no. So I requested to talk to the supervisor and he said he was busy on other calls, and then he told me he would call back within 24 hours. I said no I am going to wait. He kept on saying he would call back within 24 hours. I said ok then after I confirmed contact info with him. He said that he would call beck within 24 hour and maximum in 48 hours. Normally the supervisor will call back within 24 hours. This wasn't what he was saying initially and he was trying to get off the phone with me because I kept on saying I would like to wait for his supervisor. I can't believe a big company like yours, your customer representative will trick the customer like that.

Our names are A and B. We used to work for a Bell corporate store in Nova Scotia. Our experiences became so unbearable that we switched companies and starting working for a competitor. The manager was a complete corporate lackey, that wanted to sell iPhone 5's to old ladies with fixed incomes, TV and satellite packages to people who never asked for it in the 1st place. It was all about numbers. Existing customers didn't matter, nor did prepaid customers, nor people with bill issues. It was just new customers and contracts. We were told to sell at least three accessories with each customer and never had any in store credits or worthwhile incentives for customer (our new company does!).
People came into to us for help but management said they had to call in for themselves but we could spend an hour on the phone setting a client up for a new phone. WE left because we are 2 of the few people who actually cared for our customers and wanted them to have the best deals out there. We are now working at a multicarrier company that puts the clients’ needs first and we go home proud to work for such a company. There are only so many ways to sell Bell and when Telus is offering a plan at the same price but with more... who wouldn't switch?
The company has a target for how many accessories a rep should sell a month. If you’re 1/10 behind that target you get put on probation and threatened with termination. Of course it is all worded politely and with emphasis on improvement, but the underlying message is very clear. Customers are treated as scoreboard numbers and are only useful when attaining targets and manager bonuses (whom are encouraged not to share that information with staff). Of course the wireless industry is goal and numbers related and one would expect strong aggressive selling, but not this. Bell is sleazy and the epitome of corporate greed. It’s the consumer who suffers. We just switched jobs!!!!

My experience with Bell, a long and tragic tale. It all started quite simply, I just wanted to cancel a service that I was not using, seemed simple at the time, that was my first mistake. Of course my next Bell bill still had the cancelled device charge on it. The service had been cancelled, I no longer had the use of the device but found myself paying for something I could not access. Phone Bell again, explain situation thinking it was now resolved, end of month Bell bill arrives and yes there it was again, the charge for the service I was not getting, and I foolishly was expecting a credit from the last bill for the overpayment.
So phone Bell again thinking this time yes it is finally resolved. In the meantime I made a payment to Bell less the amount of the device I had cancelled 2 months ago. Apparently this was not the right thing to do because the next bill had a late payment fee and interest fee attached to it because I had not paid the full amount of the bill and to think I was expecting a credit. Now I am starting to think waste more time with Bell, just pay it, or cancel everything with Bell. I opted for the last option which of course as I found out was something that could not be accomplished either. Well at least not from an economical stand point. So there I was financially stuck with Bell.
Next round: I found myself last year just after Christmas with a rather large debt owing to Bell, payment was made, a check was mailed, payment appeared to have been received at Bell. I say appeared because on the next Bell bill I received there was a credit for the amount of the I owed. However 2 lines down from the credited amount was a new line reinstating that amount along with late payment fees. As I was looking at the bill trying to make some sense of it, thinking I guess I am going to have to phone Bell and find out what this Bill actually means. Well no need for me to call them this time, they called me, someone from collections. Requesting payment immediately credit card over phone.
My response, ah no payment was made, check was sent. They say no, I say yes. They say your service will be cut off and then I get transferred to someone else. They can 't tell what happened to my check. Explain situation to this person, they will look into it and get back to me, they don't get back to me so I get another phone call from collections. Repeat process, talk to a new someone else and once again they will look into it. Still no explanation of what might of happened to my check. In the mean time, go to the bank, request a copy of canceled Bell check. Can't get copy of cancelled, it does not exist. Huh, it's not NSF. It has not been cancelled, funds are still in my account huh.
New phone call from collections. I decide what the heck, this is just annoying, take their option B and make new payment at a Bell store. Now this, one would think should end some of the issues, Bell's anyway not mine ah but no. Without another phone call, my Bell services were cut off. Yes cut off after payment had been made twice, so now I can't phone out but Bell can phone me, they do more demands, more transferring, more explaining, more time wasted, more billing interest, penalties and it just did not stop. As it turned out Bell had received payment, sent payment to some fund that did not accredit my account and I never did find out what happened to the first check. Round 3: the same as round one currently on going, why am I still a Bell customer?

I had been a loyal customer with BELL MOBILITY for many years, close to 10, and heard of a much better deal with another carrier and ended up switching my number to the carriers as they could not match package for dollar value. Had a family plan with 5 phones originally and after my departure and my 2 eldest getting their own acct, only 2 family members still remained. After another year, I inquired about better rates but same story. Called customer service (cs), heard that recording again that this conversation could be recorded for security and training or some such, to confirm that the contract for the remaining 2 phones had fully expired - was told then it had been for sometime; but if I choose to close acct I must pay balance of month then an full extra months payment as penalty. Nice. Same as a hard ** kick after I had kissed the royal ring heading out the door...
Asked again what other charges Big Bell could dream up (I heard the cs representative tap away on this keyboard) and it was confirmed again that only the remaining month and the month penalty. As the other carrier's deal was about to lapse and I knew what I had to pay off with Bell and would be saving a fair amount of money I made a decision based on the information I was told from that Bell cs rep. Shortly thereafter I ported those numbers over and everyone here was happy. Could only pay $100 of $148 Bell bill I received and would pay the balance next month.
Then the bill came again the next month, opened it to pay that $48 but ohhhh... I now had a bill for ~$600 with no explanation. So I call Bell. I ask if all conversions are recorded and Mason (her name for that day?) confirms yes all are recorded. After wasting more of my time calling, waiting, asking for the most senior manager re-telling all the events/conversations and being punted around - it was disclosed there was a phone renewed some 3-4 months back. I honestly didn't know or sign off on that transaction. How does the acct holder not get contacted when something like this happens? Nevertheless why wasn't I informed of that? I also would not have cancelled if I was aware of this this.
I told that cs manager the above transpired events and asked for a transcribed copy of my original conversation with the cs rep. If I was told and erred by any cs rep I will pay what I owe. I was also told to just pay the $600 and then fight for it. I asked if she would pay it and I'll pay it back when I get it.... Just let me hear the conversation between that cs and myself is all I'm asking.
So since today I have been called by Bell 3-5 times a day until I blocked all the calling numbers that had no information why I owed it. It has gone to collections now and chipping away at my credit score. I would like to invoice them for my time and costs here. How do I get any further against a big bullying Bell machine??

We are in the USA and I tried to make a phone call to my wife from my cell phone. All I have is the capabilities of an emergency call. I contacted a Bell rep and they needed all the account numbers which I have no access to since the bills are at home. They had the phone number, and that account is in perfect standing. They had all my personal info they could have looked it up. The rep made no attempt to help at all. The last time this happened the rep found the problem and it was fixed within 15 minutes. When I return to Canada I am done with Bell. I have terminated our TV service now both cell phones are done.

My elderly parent called Bell a month in advance to advise that he was cancelling his service in a month's time due to a move. Instead, Bell cancelled the service the day he called. He called back to inform them of their error and they reinstated the service the next day; however, the quality was significantly diminished. Once he moved, he paid the next bill, assuming it was the last one. Bell continued to bill him. When they called him, he advised them of their error. The calls did not stop, nor did the bills with the amounts increasing each month. In addition, Bell began calling the new owners of his previous home.
My parents' stress increased as Bell advised they would be using a collection agency. They are already dealing with severe health issues and this has affected their wellness. Every conversation with Bell continued in the same vein. Four months later, when I visited, another such call came in. I spoke with the caller, could not understand a word she said, could not barely hear her and it was my impression that this was some sort of crank call or some sort of scam as the caller seemed vague and unprofessional.
I called Bell following my visit and explained the situation. The staff person I spoke with was very cooperative, told me it was Bell's mistake and erased all charges. She told me that my parents would not be receiving any more paperwork and that the calls would soon stop. I cannot yet attest to this as not enough time has elapsed. I asked her why, when my parent explained the situation to the callers, nothing was resolved at that point. She advised that the callers are their collection agency and their job is to "remind," not to take things further. How was my parent supposed to know this? He was not advised of this when he made his explanations. A lot of stress was created by Bell's poor treatment of their customer and even of the new home owner who was not connected to this affair. My family feels that their reputation in the community has been harmed by Bell's calls to the new homeowner. My parent made no mistakes. He advised Bell in advance of his plans, yet all his communications fell on deaf ears.

Again the next bill, same problem, the rate offered doesn't even get mentioned on the bills, overcharged again... same routine every time... I called Bell Canada as our Modem is not working and wanted to know what should I do aside from rebooting it. The wait time is extremely long, when I finally got somebody, they told me to call when I am at home (I guess he wanted me to do something with the modem). So when I got home I called and again the wait time is extremely long. I finally got an East Asian guy who cannot help me at all and has to put me on hold just to get an address of where I should bring the modem to and had been waiting for a long time when I realized he just hanged up on me. This is unacceptable and Bell should really train their staff before putting them on Technical Support. This incident happened on January 16, 2014 in the evening between 7-8:30 pm.
I finally called again and a gentleman named Sam helped me with all my queries and told me where is the nearest Bell I can go to. Now, Bell should train their Technical Support team to be like Sam. Too bad I was not able to get that incompetent guy's name but if Bell is really recording messages, then they should track this down and give the guy a thorough training. I give excellent reviews If I know somebody really deserves to get it. I was impressed by Sam that I asked for his name and to acknowledge his help to write down a good review for him as you seldom get somebody over the phone who is courteous and who know what they are doing.

At 3pm, I called the representative from Vaughan Mills who sold the service to me and he had me call 310-BELL, which I did and the recording stated my service was to installed from 12-5pm today. At 5:05pm, I called 310-BELL and spoke to a female who said that since there was a block on the order, the technician automatically codes these and does not do them as he does not contact the customer either. Apparently, the female said that the way the order was created by the person in the mall caused this block which Bell would have picked up eventually.
I asked the female to make sure she communicates this issue of not having the tech contact the client to her manager and they need to be more responsive and advise clients, not wait for the client to contact them when they don't show up. To top things off further, I told her to cancel the Fibe service and she put me on hold which I was then disconnected..... GREAT SERVICE! Stay away from BELL. They can't schedule their staff and certainly don't care about the customer. CRAP SERVICE AS ALWAYS. I contacted the mall representative and he is looking into the problem. You get some American stations but they are based in Boston. I don't care about the weather or news in Boston. I would like local stations from Buffalo where the weather affects my plans... You get the basic channels, then you get the HD version, then you get the same from another time zone. They do not inform you of all this when they promise you everything and upsell you to get you to sign on. There should be something that can be done about the way this is done.

I was a customer of Rogers for many years and recently switched over to Bell because of their FIBE TV and a few incentives. There have been so many complications with our second-line (we had our calls - which were for business - blocked) and, instead of the plan that we had signed up for (unlimited US/Canada calls) we were charged insane amounts for long-distance. Long-story-short, we were transferred all over the place and kept on the phone for hours (not to mention the disruption to our work with not being able to call out) and made all kinds of promises. The following day, no one was aware of any of the promises (an account credit and a reversal of all charges) that were made to us or changes to the account. The agent had promised to leave detailed notes and send e-mail confirmation. As a new customer of Bell Canada, I am very frustrated. This has impacted our business and Bell is completely unsympathetic. Their call-center representatives are incompetent and unprofessional. It is even ironic, that on several calls, the phone connection was so poor that I could barely hear the agent on the other side of the call!

I have been dealing with Bell Canada for years, and must say their tech-support is awful. My issue today however is that Bell apparently changed my account number without any notice. After getting a letter saying I had not made any payments and my service would be cut off I learned from my bank that they have received hundreds of complaints regarding the same issue. I have been making all my bill payments online for years and now I am told they have not received any payments, even though payments are directly debited from my account online. My bank assured me that the payments went out the day I made them. I called Bell. The first customer service person put me on hold then hung up. The second person finally advised that all my payments were going to a different account. They had changed my account number (along with thousands of others) without notice and had to manually transfer the accounts. This could have been avoided by a simple e-mail or letter advising me that they had changed my account. I updated my account through my bank website but now I have a blot on my account. Can't anything be done?

I have changed to lower packages but have noticed that the rates are still increasing. So in the end, I cancelled the services and went to Rogers. I had over paid them by $37.98 and have been waiting for them to refund me my money. Each time I contacted them, I was told it will take 3 to 4 weeks. So far, I have contacted them 5 times now. It's now 6 months since I cancelled the account. Every time I called them, they were giving me the runaround and telling me that it takes 3- 4 weeks for me to get my cheque, which is long overdue. Each time I call they seem to be extending the 3-4 weeks period from the time I would call instead of from the time I cancelled.
It seems like they are putting in as new and would tell me that it will take that long to get but will not acknowledge that I was told from June that it will be 3-4 weeks. 3-4 weeks isn't 6 months. I have asked them to transfer me to their Supervisor and was told that they (Supervisor) are not available at the moment. What kind of business does Bell operate? Just because it's $37.98 to them it's nothing, but to me its a lot. It's my hard earned money. Their customer service is **. I have been with Bell for nearly a decade now... When my child and I moved in to my previous dwelling, I had Bell Phone and Internet and the price was for a basic landline phone and internet. My Mom lives in the U.S so I was offered unlimited U.S long distance for $10 which I thought was great... at the time. Basically my Bill fluctuated. It fluctuated in spite of an unlimited long distance plan and I had no frills, meaning, no call display, no voicemail, no call forwarding and the lowest amount they ever Billed me was $65!... Why and how it changed from month to month was NEVER explained despite my inquiry.
Then came the internet to which because of some unexplained credit they said I had obtained that allowed me to have 155 GB per month which was more than I at the time would use but I was not complaining because it is better to have more than not so much because that it when you risk going over the limit and then paying out you (bleep). It has been over 4 years now that I no longer have Bell Phone. I found a cell provider that gives me a fantastic rate and that is with Unlimited US and Canada long distance, call display. voicemail. international texting SMS and MMS, unlimited incoming and outgoing calls, call forwarding, etc... Music downloads, data, etc. for $35.00 and it NEVER EVER changes.
I now moved as of April and I contacted Bell a month in advance, spent an hour and a half with a rep to discuss my options and my budget, and I had made it clear that I did not want to spend more than $100.00 a month because I am single mother, battling Metastatic Breast Cancer now for 7 yrs and doing quite well I might add, but regardless I am on Medical Disability so on a tight budget. The rep swore to me that I would not being paying more. He said the total would be $97.63. My problem is this and this was the issue in my previous place... I NEVER seem to come out on top with Bell. I get 2 benefit checks in the month and I told them this.
Any service I receive, whether it be Hydro or my Cell Bill sends 1 bill a month and I pay one time a month. But not Bell. I pay ALWAYS in the 1st week of the month as I get a check directly deposited in my account on the 1st and the 20th. I always pay $100 a month and sometimes more thinking as with other companies that eventually I will get credit off my account, but with Bell that never happens. The way they are Billing, I always end up owing a month because they bill me again on the 6th or the 7th and the due date is on the 26th... so basically I pay on the 1st... They Bill me on the 6/7 so By the time I can pay again, it looks like I am a month behind.
I have spoken to people at Bell countless times to beg them to change the Billing date to the 1st of the month and they wont. I've made a point to pay a couple of months ago twice for the sole purpose of bringing my bill down to $0... and it's happening again, but this time I have a problem with my modem and in the process of waiting for a new one and even that they have messed up and I am left having to track down a Modem M.I.A. because no one can get their stories straight. But that is another problem all together, lol.
I have proof of every payment that I have made to Bell but despite my efforts in being diligent in paying my bills, it would seem that I keep owing more and more to them, strange when I can never go over my usage since I have an unlimited usage plan, so how can the bill always change is what I also would like to know... Please can somehow help. I know that there is something shamefully wrong with the way they are Billing me. It cannot be possible to always owe when I always pay what I owe.

OCT 5th - a second agent from Bell called to win me back from switching to Primus. The first agent called me 2 weeks earlier in late Sept. Agent #2 promised discounts on home phone, Internet and Satellite to stay with Bell. I asked 2 or 3 times to confirm that there was no expiry on this promotion and he said no, every time. I asked if Bell would come and move a satellite cable for me at no charge to another room in my house to keep me with Bell and if so I would accept the total offer and he confirmed yes. He said (agent 2) we would send an email confirmation to me on Saturday, it never came.
I called Bell today and spoke with a customer service agent about the pricing. She could not find the details quoted form the agent I spoke with. She transferred me to her manager (Agent 3) because she said there were expiration dates on the promotions and she could not help me with that. The manager (agent 3) was very helpful and said he could not provide me with these services with no expiry on the promotions (as promised by Agent 2) only a 24 month expiry on the telephone and the TV and internet would be 12 months. He mentioned that agent #2 could lose his job for this and my reply was simply, "We are all responsible for our own actions." I said agent 2 that called me lied to get me to switch back to Bell. I had this happen 3 years ago as well. He said he would have to review the phone conversation regarding the number of times I asked the agent to confirm that there was no expiry when in fact there was. I also asked him to check the conversation regarding Bell coming to move a cable for free which there were no notes for.
In the end the last agent confirmed all the discounts as promised by the agent who called me Sat Oct 5 (with a slight variation of $3 which would be a price increase starting in NOV). The agent also confirmed that Bell would come to my house and run a new cable to the other side of my house. They would charge $75 for that and as soon as I got the bill. Bell would credit me for the charge on my bill. Overall I feel that Bell did not make me happy. I am not satisfied with them. I was not offered anything for my loyalty in the way of additional promotions, hardware credits etc. This is the second time in 3 years where I have been pissed off at Bell. Tried to switch to another company and then had a Bell agent lie to me to entice me back.
I asked for at least 24 months expiry on my internet and Satellite as partial compensation for the other agent lying to me but that was not available. On September 28th, 2012, my wife ported her phone number to Fido and canceled the service with Bell. Then on October 27th, the "Last bill" from Bell came in with an amount of $3.58 which we paid in full on November 6th, 2012. This amount of $3.58 was the remaining balance after she ported her number to Fido. The thing is that somehow the port number department at Bell didn't cancel her account and they keep it active in their system, which turned out in more bills had been generated under my wife's account. From our understanding my wife had finished her agreement with Bell as she was using her phone number on Fido network since Sept 28th. It was not until last month (August 2013) that we received a call from the Collector Office from Bell to tell us that my wife had a pending balance of $325.45 because of unpaid bills since November 2012!!! And this unpaid balance was affecting her credit records.
We told to this person that was impossible and it must be an error because we had cancelled that number on Bell almost a year ago, and she told us no, that the number was active on Bell until April 2013 and as a consequence we owed Bell the months of Nov. 2012, Dec. 2012 and Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr 2013 plus the interest. After knowing this we immediately called Bell Mobile customer services and after waiting almost 20 minutes for an agent to pick up the phone, this first agent didn't know how to help us resolved this mistake and put us on hold for another 20 minutes just to come back to tell us that we had to call another Bell department as the account was cancelled. So we called that department. After several tries someone picked up the phone and we had to explain her everything. Then she put us on hold for 30 minutes. Then another agent picked up the line and asked us what we needed and I had to explain to her again everything.
This new agent put us on hold again for almost 35 minutes when finally she came back and told us that she would need to call Bell porting number department. We had to wait another 15 minutes. Then she came back apologizing and recognizing that there was a mistake by the porting number department, and that the only thing she could do was to give us a credit for the $325.45 dollars in order to clear the outstanding balance, and then my wife credit record would be cleaned, but anyway we would need to pay $83.80 for account closure. I said to myself wtf! whatever I just wanted to finish this process with Bell after almost 2 hour dealing with incompetent customer service agents. Finally we could resolve the problem and the account was cancelled. Lesson learned from this is that you can't take for granted that a service provider has cancelled your account. Now we're going to be more careful and follow up a month after the service cancel request we made. And of course never use Bell services.

I paid for until March 2013. I was in fact overcharged by 15 dollars on my last bill, which I had to pay in order to get my deposit back. Now I am owed 63 dollars and some change. I start the process of getting that back in April 2013. It is now October 2013 and I have still not received my money. I must have made dozens of phone calls, logged hours upon hours in time, in an attempt to receive my money.
The policy of Bell Aliant is that once the account is paid off, they will cut you a check which you may receive in 6 to 8 weeks?!? It's been 6 months and I am still fighting for my money. I feel they just expect me to give up, but I will not. I am now committed to getting the word out there about them. They have zero customer service and obviously no accountability. It would seem they have a history of questionable billing practices, and one cannot help but wonder how much money they defraud from the consumer 60 dollars at a time? Not to mention the cost in terms of time and energy wasted? It is outrageous that this company is allowed to function in the manner to which they are accustomed. And to all of us who actually give them our business, shame. Is this the worst company in Canada? In my opinion, yes. Why do we Canadians tolerate this? Why are there no controls on this company? We did call last night and were given the last month free for my phone only. This cell phone is my only phone for communicating with my wife and getting calls from work (I'm on call for 15 days then off for 6). All we asked for is for BELL to drop our contract. If they can't deliver the service I pay for, why can't they let us out of the contract?

I am a owner company since 2008. At the beginning I bought 2 cell phone, one for me and the other to my project manager. A few month after I got one for my secretary. After that I had never order or bought a cell phone for someone else.
Last year Bell mobility send me some cell phone by mail with a bill. I ask my secretary what's going on and she told me that a Bell representative called and told her that is going to send us cell phone and that is going to cost nothing and it give us better rate and would cost less on monthly bill. I tried to send them the phone and cancel the line but it never happen. They did it with 2 other of my employees and now I have to pay for 11 phone lines per month, lines that I didn't ask or sign for, and I can't cancel any of them if I am not paying $400.00 for each line. They are a bunch of thief.

Subscriber from, Saint John NB dies in Nov. 2011 at 89 years of age. The 90-year-old co-habitating sister (joint checking account holder) cancels the cell phone finally after 3 phone calls (July-September 2012). The number is shut off (October 2012). Sister is the sole beneficiary of her sister's estate. Bell Mobility demands a death certificate in order to cease automatic withdrawals from the joint account ($31.11 per month). In order to achieve this which had to be requested from the law firm handling the estate (90-year-old survivor has no access to a fax machine - Bell Mobility tells her to fax the document to a specific number. In order to cancel account. death certificate sent by fax from law firm.
Statements still arriving by mail monthly and $33.11 withdrawn automatically every month (September 2012 to January 2013) from a Royal Bank account King Street, Saint John. Death certificate sent again in early January from the law firm. In January 2013, the December bill arrives at the address of the dead sister and money withdrawn again for a cell phone that is non-existent and the number appears to be reassigned to Jennifer "someone". Once more call to Bell Mobility agent by a niece and POA. Once more death certificate is faxed to a number given by the agent with a promise that as soon as it is received, the automatic withdrawals from the bank account inappropriately taken from the bank account will be reimbursed.
February 2013: Bill again arrives with a notice of $33.11 withdrawal from the bank account. 90-year-old surviving sister, with whom the account was joint, is taken to the Royal Bank to remove the automatic withdrawal authorization as this appears to be the only way to stop the bills and withdrawals. By now, the 90-year-old is out $160-$180.00. The Bell Mobility agents (2) and supervisors (2) insist there has been no death certificate received despite a law firm that has proof they sent it three times. In repeated discussions in February 2013, 2 agents, 2 supervisors, 1 Montreal Executive Office agent all repeat. "The only solution is to have a death certificate sent again," says the Bell mobility agent 1, agent 2, supervisor 1 and supervisor 2.
This situation is absolutely insane...the Mobility number in question is non-operative now for several months. The Bell Mobility business office is still charging a dead woman for a cell phone that is not operative. At this point, I see this as harassment of the 90-year-old sister of a dead woman by the repeated bills that upset her every time they come and the payments taken from the Royal Bank are quite appropriately called theft. I am told that the staff is powerless to do anything until once again a death certificate be faxed. It is our process and needs to be followed for us to resolve this.
We refused to get another death certificate sent. Another Bell Mobility Executive office staff (Montreal office) was invited to look up obituaries in Saint John, New Brunswick, for November 2011 and see the death notice for the sister in the Telegraph Journal. The law office has the evidence that the ongoing error is Bell's problem as the death certificates keep going into a black hole in the Bell communication system. Two people (a lawyer, the POA for the two sisters) have spent 5-7 hours each trying to resolve this extremely upsetting situation.
In February, 2013, in discussion with Terrence **, Customer Relations Associate - Bell Executive Office, the agent offered that the October to January withdrawals would be reimbursed to the elderly lady's bank account. This offer came after the agent looked up the sister's obituary in the local newspaper as we refused to send another death certificate. Two checks totaling 5 months of payments were received by the surviving sister in March 2013.
Bell Mobility department clearly does not have communication structures that maintain accurate documentation and provide information between sectors of the company. If Bell Mobility were owed money, one might understand this nonsense, but the corporation owed the senior approximately $160.00 for a cell phone number that has been cancelled for 5 months now. The billing from the law firm for the hours of work spent on what should have been a simple resolution remains un-invoiced. In April 2013, Ms. Susan ** from the office of Karen Sheriff, President of Bell Aliant called and apologized for the challenges we have encountered but was unable to do anything other than apologize and reaffirm the company's process of canceling a cell phone.
Jean ** from the Montreal office called and reaffirmed that nothing more would be done further to the reimbursement of the 5 months payments. Bell's position received April 23rd, 2013 is attached. Please note on my appended comments the inaccuracies of your company's response to the CRTC complaint. This response further proves my contention that maintenance of accurate records of client calls, personal documents such as death certificates, and inter-office communication is completely in disarray and ineffective which causes only further harassment of a client as has happened in this instance.

I WAS ADVISED I WOULD HAVE TO SIGN ANOTHER 3X YEAR TERM. I refused and left the store after speaking to Bell 3X with different Bell Loyalty agents. Bell, and companies like Shaw Direct are nothing more than robber barons. Consumers would be well advised to read all of the fine print carefully and inquire about all fees that will be charged.
I had been a Shaw Direct customer for more than 9 years, but that didn't prevent them from charging me an additional 30 days worth of service when I decided to discontinue their service. They can turn on channels almost instantly, or off, so what is the deal with that other than to jerk the customer around further? I also decided to disconnect my Bell Aliant telephone and DSL internet. They also charged me for another 30 days, and on top of that, $80 for ending the "contract" early.
Interestingly, when I made arrangements with EastLink to change my services, Bell was quick to call and offer me $99 Fiber Optic. Their telemarketers then called repeatedly until only a few days before the date of disconnection. The extremely rude, arrogant, and aggressive telemarketer then offered me $99 for two years if I would stay with Bell Aliant. I then informed him that I didn't like the bill I would be receiving after their special offer was completed and that was why I was changing services. They then argued with me despite the fact that EastLink's services were clearly less expensive in my area.
In light of the $99 two-year offer, how can they justify an $80 disconnection fee which they say is for damages? In what way are they damaged if they are prepared to offer Internet, TV, and Telephone for $99? Why isn't it just one low fee all the time? The extra fee didn't dissuade me from changing to another provider but their typical bill certainly does, so the extra fees are counterproductive.
As consumers, we are left with little option when we engage the services of the various providers as they all have these extra fees which abuse the pocketbook. It's either, "Play ball with us," they say or "Don't play at all." More regulation of what they are allowed to charge should be enacted. I'd be inclined now to review all this documentation in the future and attempt to negotiate a harder with them to secure waiver of these extra fees. They don't mind being rude when it suits them.
I take issue also with the TV product being offered. There is so much repeated content on TV. The same shows are repeated over the ranges of channel bundles; it is difficult to get anything worth watching. In the end, the consumer might as well just pick the lowest bundle of channels. Shows like Discovery Canada repeat content from shows of previous years, with one or two new items which look like they got picked from the headlines of Google Science News. Frankly, I get more science news from the full range of news at Google/News/Science. The former host of Discovery, Jay Ingram, is sorely missed.
The lesson here is that big companies are being allowed to get away with far too much. The product is not very good for what you get, and still they try to lock the consumer in and restrict them from making choices in the consumer's own best interest.

For at least the last 3-4 years, I have been paying Bell Mobility for a plan with unlimited text messaging for my teenage daughter. She sends thousands of texts every month to friends all over the world. Suddenly now, we are being charged extra for international text messaging. The number we are being charged extra for makes no sense because it does not reflect the reality of the number of international texts which were actually sent (ie: 29 for $5.95, when the real number was probably in the hundreds or thousands).
I have had two calls with customer service, and they tell me that my unlimited package does not include international messages. For this, I have to pay extra. I tell them this is not fair because, in the past, unlimited included everywhere. They tell me they may credit the extra charge on my current bill, but I have to allow them to add an international text plan to my account, or there will be extra charges. I said, "No! Why should I pay extra for something that was included in my contract?" I am disgusted. This is a scam to allow them to gouge more money from me. My daughter's phone is under contract for another 2 1/2 years, so they know I am stuck having to pay what they dictate. I need others to join with me to stop this robbery!

In February 2013, I moved to a newly-constructed home; when I called the Bell service line to relocate my phone/internet services, I was told that my new home had the option of Fiber service to the home, an upgrade over the technical limitations of my previous home. After several hour-long calls to the general customer service line, I was told that there was a great deal - 3 months free of Fibe TV, and after 3 months, the full bundle price would be around $130. First, I could keep my existing phone number, then I couldn't, then I could, and finally I couldn't, but they would put up a recording for callers to my original line that the phone number had changed (despite several calls about this issue, this never took place). My order was "misplaced" three times.
Someone came to the house, couldn't install the service because they needed someone else to re-run the fiber optic conduit - annoying, but that happens; the service tech was great, but said I would need to call the 310-Bell line to set up an appointment. I did this, was given an appointment for 4 days later. I stayed home from work, and no rep came to the house. I called to complain; they had no record of my appointment. This rep told me that they would have someone contact me to reschedule. I waited 2 days - no call. I called in, this time reaching an office in Quebec City - the rep had no record of my account or order at all. To that rep's credit, he sorted it out and arranged to have someone show up in 2 days to hook everything up.
Now, 4 months later, I'm told by Bell Collections that I have 2 accounts - 1 for phone/internet, 1 for TV, and I've only been paying the one for phone/internet. I called and spoke with the Fibe TV customer service, who informed me that the "bundle" I received in the beginning was not bundled, but two separate accounts and I didn't receive 3 months of free TV service, but rather 3 months of free TMN/HBO/Superchannel. After the 3 months, it went up to a total of about $150 per month. With the other bill, my services with Bell total about $240 per month. This is ridiculous! I would never have agreed to the TV service had I thought it was that much - I had been told $130 for all 3 services, which is reasonable. Now I'm trying to figure out who I can talk to about this - the rep I spoke with today was nowhere near helpful.

I have engaged with Bell back in November for service of cable and internet. The deal was a 24-month contract with 6 months free service. Bell came to install while I had a friend wait for them. When I came home, I was mortified to see my base board (with over 100 staples and my floor with tape damage) has been done. Next the first month ends. I am getting billed for services I did not request. I called Bell and the said they will take care of it. Next month I got the bill and again, charges with no credits and so on until month #4. Every month same story. No recourse of previous conversations and the bill grows.
Finally, enough is enough. I decided to cancel. Almost a week later, I got a call from Bell customer service to ask about the reasons of cancellation. When I told them the reason, the answer is "Oh we are sorry. How about we reconnect you again?" When I said, "Don't you think it's a little too late?" The answer was basically, "Okay then, we will charge you $299 for disconnection." When I replied that the contract stated that the disconnection is $200, his reply was "We can charge whatever we want." My reply was, "Then I will have to escalate it even if I need to go to court." His answer was "by all means." Warning: Do not engage with Bell. Poor, poor customer service.

I switched everything over from Rogers in April. I signed up for Fibe and high speed internet. I did it at the beginning of the month and everything seemed to be moving quite smoothly. When Bell came to install my internet and Fibe, they were there for 4 hours. They told me they were having problems and would come back the next day. They came back the next day for several more hours (I had to take this day off work). They said they were still having issues and would be back in a few days. They made an appointment. I took work off and they never showed up. I called and they rescheduled for Good Friday. My family was in town visiting and everyone went out. I stayed home in order to be there for Bell. Once again, they didn't show up and they didn't call. After hours on the phone, I was told that there was a problem with the infrastructure in my house and I agreed to ask my landlord if I could get a satellite. He agreed and I called back.
When I called back, I was told there was no need for that because they figured out how to install Fibe. Because I had been treated badly by customer service and was having so many problems with them, they offered me a great deal. I accepted and we moved on. Suddenly, no one could find this deal in the notes. I had to call numerous times, speak to numerous people and finally, someone agreed to give me the deal and send it to me in an email. Thank God because once I started receiving my bills, I was being charged full price. Not only that, but all the correspondence on email and being sent in the mail were in French. At first I thought it was a mistake, so I called and asked them to change everything into English. They said no problem. This took almost 3 months to fix. As far as I am aware, I have the right to receive everything in English. That was only the beginning.
In April, I was told that if I changed my phone over, I would be able to get one bill. So I got a Bell phone in May. At the store, I was told it wouldn't be a problem. When I got my bill, it wasn't one bill so I called in and they said they don't do it at the store; that I actually have to call in myself. So I said I wanted one bill. I have called every month about this and I still don't have it. Now I am being told that because my account is overdue, I don't qualify for it. My account is overdue because I am disputing charges and they said once I pay them, I have agreed to all the charges and they are legitimate. When I called to change my numbers on my phone for my FAB10 plan, I was told that it was $5.00 to do over the phone. A charge that isn't mentioned anywhere in writing nor was it mentioned when I got the phone.
When I got my phone in May, I said that my boyfriend and I travel to Northern Ontario (Sault Ste. Marie, Kenora, Dryden, Thunder Bay). I was told that this wouldn't be a problem because they had full coverage in those areas, but did have some bad spots between them. I said okay. Before we left to go to Kenora for Christmas, I called Bell to make sure we would have service, because it was a long drive and I wanted to make sure I could stay in contact with my family and learn where the spots with no service were to plan accordingly. They said they had service in all the cities. We left on December 18 and had no service from Sault Ste. Marie to Dryden (with the exception of being in Thunder Bay). It was storming and we were without service for more than 18 hours on the TransCanada highway.
I called Bell and they said they had lost service in all those areas, but were rebuilding towers. I wouldn't have gotten the phone if I had been aware of this. Bell representatives said that in their contract, they do not have to guarantee service at anytime and that if something happens, it is still the customer's responsibility to pay the monthly charges or pay the cancellation fee. How is it possible that under contract, customers are expected to pay for services even if the services aren't offered? Bell didn't send any notification saying that they no longer offer service in these area. When I asked them about it, they said they had sent it to customers who lived in the area only. Cell phones are for traveling and the TransCanada highway is a huge part of Ontario. Finally, when supervisors called me back when a call has been escalated, even though the call is recorded, I was never informed of that fact.

In November 2012, I sent my phone off for repair because it had frozen during an update so it was bricked as the Bell technical support agent told me and said that I should take the phone back to my local store to have it shipped and repaired as it was still under warranty. Three weeks later, I received a phone call to tell me that I could now go and pick up my cell phone. When I got to the store the following day, an employee went to the backroom to get me my phone. When he came out of the backroom, I noticed that my cell phone was only wrapped in a piece of paper (actually the repair contract). He then gave me my phone.
To my disbelief, my phone was scratched the entire length of the screen (the phone has always been in an otterbox defender case from the first second I owned the phone and the only time I had taken it out the case was to send it out for repair) so I refused to accept the phone. And then I started to ask the employee what he was going to do about the situation. The only answer he had was that he would have to speak to the owner first and that he could not do anything at that moment in time. Not happy with his answer, I kept pushing until he finally decided to call the owner, as he worked in a different store (Bell stores are pretty much all franchises).
After about an hour passed in the store and about 4 phone calls to the owner, he then told me that I had to go in person to meet the owner and show him the phone. Once I got to the store where the owner was, he verified the phone and even the case to see if he could match up any scratches between the case and the phone (the owner even asked a second employee to verify the case and phone). Finally about 10 minutes later, they finally concluded that the scratch could not have been there before (I had been telling them that for the last 2 hours). Their answer to the problem was that they were going to get in touch with the Samsung representative in Quebec to see what they could do to help.
So I was somewhat happy with the answer they gave me because I thought it would have been a fast fix seeing that it was their error. We are now the middle of January and still no phone. I have been to the store about 15 times since and every time, they make up a new reason why they can't fix and/or replace my phone that they damaged. I have called customer service and the retentions department multiple times and still nobody can help because they keep telling me that because it is a franchise that they have no control over their decisions.
So being without my phone for more than two months when it is the problem I find completely ridiculous for the consumer to pay for their errors. When Bell loan you a phone, they ask for a $100 deposit in case you break or damage their phone which in understandable, but what about when they damage your phone? No help whatsoever! Never ever will I go back with Bell Mobility or any other of their 3000 subdivisions!

I am now on the phone and I am told the order was cancelled and I must get a different #. I also am now told that my free worldwide calling is actually only for land lines and something about Italy. This is outrageous and should not be tolerated. If there were other choices in Niagara, I would do so. Mind you, the alternative which is to have a cell phone (which I have from Rogers) is worse because many calls get dropped in the Niagara area and reception is bad to poor. So much for technology!

Poor Customer Service - I did an online credit check on myself because my wife and I were looking into buying a home. When I did my check, nothing showed up as out of the ordinary, so we went to our bank and started the process. At the bank, we were asked about a Bell Service that showed up as owing them money. We went home and went through some old mail trying to find the issue mentioned. After a couple of hours and no success, I called Bell and asked them what was going on. Talking with a person from Bell Canada, they had no idea what was the issue also because I had no account with them. After about an hour, the person finally tracked it down and I paid it on the spot with a credit card for which I have a receipt saying Bell Canada was paid that amount.
I was promised while on the phone with them, I would get an emailed receipt and a paper receipt sent to me. After about a month and no receipts sent, I called back and again was promised a receipt of both types (paper and email). Today, again, I still have not received anything from Bell. On today's date, 12.27.2012, I called back again asking for a supervisor this time and got one after about a half hour wait, explained once again the whole story and asked for another receipt. I was told Bell does not provide receipts for this. I explained to them, by law when something is paid for they have to provide one to which she changed the story and said it went to collections and I explained I have no idea what they were talking about because I did not receive anything from said collection company (Allied Collections) and I would have to contact them to get the receipt.
I replied by explaining, “I do not know who they are, I have not dealt with this company and would not.” I paid Bell Canada and want them to do whatever they have to get a receipt sent to me showing that I have paid them off and they would take this off my credit bureau to which she kept telling me they did not care and I would have to call them myself. After numerous refusals from me, she finally said she would call them. When she came back, she decided to 3-way the call and tried to force me to deal with this and I again refused. The man at Allied hung up on me because I refused to deal with him. I am sick and tired of not having a say in my personal affairs! I am sick and tired of nothing being done when companies treat customers with such bad service. I want my credit bureau cleaned up and was doing my part to do this and treated like crap by a company I got rid of years ago because of crappy service and I can see after numerous complaints, they still get to do whatever they want and nothing gets done.
We, as the customers, have to have a voice and should stand against them and say, "No more!" Consumer Affairs should be acting more on our behalf and doing harder, heavier dealings with them to fix this long and constant problem with companies like Bell to stop this! Receipt Law & Legal Definition: "A receipt is a written acknowledgment by the recipient of payment for goods, payment of a debt or receiving property from another." Why is it so hard to get one for a payment I made? What gives Bell the right to say, "We do not give receipts." Why?!

I am writing in regards to the pathetic service I received from Bell Canada today. I am sorry to say, but it was the worst customer service experience of my life! I was not happy with the system access fee Bell was charging me since past two years, so I called to get that cancelled. I called today, 22nd of December 2012, at 2:05pm and spoke to an agent who advised she could not cancel this. So she passed on the call to another agent named Joshua. Upon listening to me, Joshua said he could offer me a better plan in which system access fee won't be charged and also I would get unlimited local minutes and unlimited text and that to get this, I would have to extend my contract for one more year. He assured that all other features remain the same as my current contract (which included some promotional features as well). All this he has offered me in $56. I was not happy with the extension to my plan for one more year, but then I agreed on a condition that he will also add 100 Canada-wide minutes to the plan. So he summed up all the services to $57!
My upgrade with my current contract was due in April 2013. So I asked him if that will have any effect on it, and he clearly said no. I also asked him to double check this with his supervisor. He put me on hold then came back and said he has received an email from his supervisor to confirm that this won't affect on my due hardware upgrade. I agreed to this. He put me on hold for quite a long time and then came back to confirm what he has done for me. I repeatedly asked him to confirm that the contract has only been extended for one year and all my current features remain and the minutes/text I will now get are unlimited. He said yes. Now I was expecting an email from Bell to confirm the changes made to my account. As I didn't receive any email, so I logged in to my account. To my surprise, I found that my contract was extended to three more years rather than one that I was told.
I was quite shocked to see this, so I called customer service again. This time, I spoke to an agent named Rebecca. I explained the situation - what happened this morning - and after speaking to her supervisor James, she said, "You can either cancel your contract with Bell or get some features in $27" without listening to my requirements. Anyways, after quite a long and difficult dialogue, she agreed to change the plan end date to one year (as Joshua had told me in the morning). Now, I also asked her to confirm that she has not altered anything else in my account, and she said yes. I insisted to tell me again the features so I should know and she said I get 150 local minutes in the plan! Now this further annoyed me as Joshua had told me it's unlimited local minutes. It was such nerve-wracking for me, and I felt like Bell agents are here to annoy people and not help them!
I then said I was better off with my own plan so just put me back on that, and she said she can't do that. And the only thing I can do is to cancel the contract! Anyways, I wanted to speak to her supervisor or any other colleague, and she refused. She put me on hold a couple of times and was not coming up with any solution for me. The worst on her part was that she put me on hold for 20 minutes before 7pm. She came back at 7pm to say that we have to dial back if I want to speak to other agent. She also said that her supervisor James is not willing to talk and some other supervisor will call in 24 to 72 hours. She then hung up on us at exactly 7pm. I am also planning to complain to CCTS about this matter.

I didn't make this request nor receive notice of such action by mail or email.
I found they change the policy almost monthly. I do believe they removed the option for 'immediate' return of services upon payment, even if you called or use 'live chat' with a representative with your bank information. I highly recommend when applying for Bell Express Vu services, you pay very close attention to your billing and the policy changes. Print out each 'Customer Agreement' found on their site and keep an eye on it.

I requested service from Voice Network and explained that I didn't want to risk losing my phone number. I had been told to have them port it over and so they agreed to give Bell 30 days’ notice. It wasn't done and I wouldn't pay both companies, so they declared, "We won't do business with you." Three weeks beforehand, I phoned them to know when I would get my modem and asked for the date when they had given notice to Bell. They couldn't tell me the date and I found out the day before that they gave notice only when I inquired about it. Too late then but if they had told me when I phoned, there were lots of time to move back the transfer to Voice Network. When they expected me to pay both bills, I wouldn't pay for their mistakes and so "We won't do business with you" was next. You mean I won't have a phone tomorrow? That's correct.
It was too late to cancel the transfer with Bell, the phone and internet had to go to them but the modem had never come and I couldn't use phone or internet. Bell said that it would be no problem to port the phone line back to Bell, "Just phone tomorrow when the phone line is disconnected." When I did that, they transferred me to the loyalty department, which quoted me a price for 12 months + tax, of course. They would have my line back that day. I actually didn't get the phone back till today, after a million mishaps. I was to get it at the end of last week, 5 days ago, but when it didn't happen they said "Loyalty cancelled it." No one ever told me why. Loyalty had given me a price, but when Bell got back the internet (sooner than the phone), the memo with the loyalty reference number had no similarity to the agreement we had. I was suddenly dealing with a department called Win Back, which didn't give the year's contract or the same price. They tried some reasons for this, which made no sense. I have a strong suspicion that loyalty dept is really a come-on and that people go back to Bell with a totally different bill than the one agreed upon.
The same thing happened to me 2 years ago. The sales department offered me a price to do business with Bell for 2 years. A week before it went in, I got a notice telling me to expect increases whenever Bell wanted them. The deal for 2 years is never the price you will get, instead you are notified that they will take increases. The sales lady never mentioned that and it wasn't the agreement. So both sales department and loyalty seem to be come-ons, not the real price at all. The price they quote isn't worth the phone call. In fact when I got that price regarding going to Bell 2 years ago, it was because of another dirty situation. I'd liked TekSavvy's internet and people, and was quick to take their new phone service. But when a mistake appeared on my bill, they said that they and Bell never made accounting mistakes and that I would have to put $89 upfront to have Bell check the phone lines. I'd got a lady down the hall to go to TekSavvy also and I said that her bill was wrong too.
Neither of us had ever heard of the people we were supposed to have phoned - the same people on both our bills! I was pretty sure I'd never see my $89 again and went to Bell rather than pay $89 every time there was a billing error. That's the only way they will correct the error. About a year later, I discovered that the phone calls were placed by a man, who moved in across the hall from me. It was the same name as on our bills. He was angry with Bell for his messed up lines for a month. It does seem as though Bell has a monopoly when it costs us that much to get billing errors corrected! I gathered that Bell charges TekSavvy that much and Bell is always making mistakes. You should hear about the past week. Bell has us over a barrel with that $89 charge every time they blow it. When don't they blow it? I have a strong suspicion that other people also don't get the prices quoted by Bell's sales department and Bell's loyalty department. Don't believe them is my advice.

I apologize for getting back to you a week later than when we conversed, but I was hoping that I would have received the requested documents from Bell. Unfortunately that is not the case. You asked me to write to you and explain my situation. So basically in January of this year, I received a call from your department CBV Collections. I returned the call immediately and gave them my information and was advised that they could not find another outstanding and that I should check in with Bell. I explained to them that I had made all payments to Bell and felt that my account was current. I contacted Bell that same night and they informed me that my account showed nothing in arrears and that they would contact your office and verify this.
The next day, I again received a call from your company. We went through the same things and I contacted Bell after and was again advised that nothing was outstanding and they would call you to straighten out the account. This went on for approximately a week. I even asked on one occasion to speak to a supervisor with Bell because I wanted to escalate the problem and try and resolve the issue. I had several concerns, one being the fact that I now had a red flag on my credit rating. I was informed by your company that no one had involved the Credit Bureau at this point. (I questioned this but was advised that no, it had not gone to them). The Bell representative refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor and when I advised him that I was getting tired of this and was extremely upset with the fact that they refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor.
I informed him that I wished to cancel all my accounts. He advised me that I couldn’t because I had signed a contract. I told him I didn't care and was fine with paying the release fee. He still refused. Up to this point, no one could tell me where this $390 outstanding amount came from. They believed that it was paid and that I was current. I continued to speak with Bell and finally found a supervisor that informed me that the fee came from an old Bell mobility account of mine. My concerns then were why Bell would put me into collections when they had never contacted me to advise me of the arrears. I had never received a bill to this effect. I had advised Bell back in March 2010 (I believe that is the date) that I would be leaving the country and cancelled my account.
At that time my account was up to date. My average bills were in the $60 range. I left the country in the end of March and never used the phone after that. This would be less than one month’s use (again keeping in mind my average bill up to then). I advised Bell of my leaving and asked for my final bill which I sent in to Bell sometime near the end of March which apparently you received. I have never received anything further from you. All my mail was forwarded to my parents’ address up north in Orillia. I did receive mail at this address but not anything from Bell. When I came back to Canada, I signed up again with Bell and took out Bell Phone, Bell Internet and Bell Cable. At no time did anyone mention the outstanding amount apparently owed to Bell. I have been with Bell since June/July 2011. The first time I was made aware of the outstanding amount was a call from CBV Collections.
When I spoke with Bell, I made numerous supervisors and staff aware of this situation on an ongoing basis. I can't tell you how many times I have contacted both Bell and CBV Collections to try and resolve this issue. Bell has promised to send me a copy of this outstanding amount on several occasions but so far I have not received anything. It has been, I believe over a month since they said that they would send out a copy of the outstanding amount. I am not trying to avoid paying but I believe that somewhere there is a problem with your records. I truly believed that when I left Canada, I had paid all my outstanding invoices. Why would I have sent in a payment to Bell for my phone prior to them sending me a bill if I was trying to avoid paying? I contacted Bell and was given the final outstanding balance and it was paid. This issue has been going on for over 3 months. I have always called back CBV Collections whenever one of your representatives has called and then followed up with Bell; spending hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue.
I understand you wanted to get paid, but no one has shown me or been able to satisfy me that I in fact owe this bill. It took Bell and CBV over a week to verify that there was an outstanding account. I was advised once that the money outstanding was because I had cancelled my account prior to it expiring and that the bill was the penalty but I did not have a service account with you only a month-to-month account. I am sending this to Bell Customer Relations as well as my lawyer (who asked for a copy of this). I know that pursuing this through legal channels is too expensive and time consuming. I just want this to go away and have it verified that my name has been cleared from all the Credit Bureaus. I know that I have other options available as I have been involved in the public relations arena for years and have seen how well the internet and such works. I have been more than cordial and have tried to resolve this for over 3 months.
I know that it is a simple problem as one of your people advised me. Just pay and don't worry about it, It's a small amount of money and the credit bureau will work itself out. Do you think this is fair? I subsequently, to sending this letter to Bell and CBV collections, went through a couple more months of aggravation. I spoke to senior supervisors who promised to send me my final bill. This never happened. Finally, one of the supervisors told me if I paid $300 this would all go away. I said yes, just send me the details of what I owed and I would pay it. I waited 7 days and no copy of the bill, but I was still getting calls from the collections agency asking now for $90 instead of the original $390. I phoned Bell back and explained what was going on and he said pay me the $90 now and I will send you the bill in the mail. I paid the $90.
I thought finally it is over but no, they never sent me my final bill. I called back and cancelled my telephone account and my internet account. I still have the satellite account because of this 2-year contract. I vowed never to use this company again. But the story is now starting over again. I received an email from MetCredit advising me I owe $134.99 from early 2010. This is the same timeframe as the last credit bureau's issue. I called up MetCredit and went through the same crap of being told about my credit being put at risk, just pay the money or they will elevate it and damage my credit rating. I asked what it is for and all they can tell me is that I owe Bell Canada this amount. I contacted Bell Canada today and the process is starting over again. They can't find my account and why or what the outstanding amount is for. I will receive a copy of this invoice in 7 - 10 days.
My problem is this: why have I never received any bills from this company after I cancelled their services back in 2010? I gave them forwarding addresses when I left the country which they had because they mentioned the address in our conversations. It was not my residence but my parents’. The first time I hear of anything outstanding is from a collections agency (twice now). I was a current client of theirs with all their services and they had all my information of addresses past and present. I'm fed up with Bell Canada and their treatment of their customers. To this day, I don't even know if the money I paid was owed to them or not. So now I must go through all this crap again of waiting on the phone for sometimes 2 to 3 hours to get up high enough in their process to get some answers. I realize it is being set up this way so that the average person gets fed up and pays as their representatives say ,"It’s only a small amount of money, just pay it."

Two years ago, I phoned Bell planning to cancel my contract because the bills I was receiving were way beyond what the original plan stated they would be. At that time, they coerced me to stay with them by offering me a new iPhone. I, of course, was satisfied for the time being and went to activate the phone. To do so, I was told that I needed to open a new line (which a Bell representative later told me the salespeople automatically earn a $60 commission each time a line is opened), which I did. A couple months later, I moved to Winnipeg but did not change my number because I had the fab 5 or whatever and didn't do too much other calling.
About 6 months went by when one day, I tried to use my phone and it had been cut off. I phoned in and was told that it had been cancelled. No warning or anything. I asked the rep if there were any other obligations that I owed to Bell and if I was committed to Bell in any other way. She responded very clearly that no, I was off the hook (a statement that I have seen in a few other reviews on here as well). Last night, I received a call from collections that I owed Bell $140.00. I phoned in to figure out what it was and was told that for the last year, I have had a separate line being charged to me which in fact was not cancelled with my iPhone. I did not have any bills sent to me for the charges and was not informed by a phone call or email at any point in time that I had outstanding bills.
Today I tried to talk with the representatives at Bell and asked them to waive the fees based on the fact that I had not received any paperwork or record of these charges. I was told pointblank that no matter what I did, I would end up having to pay. That no matter the claim or the cause, the customer always has to pay. I am literally shaking. I am so angry. It's not about the money as much for me as $140 isn't nearly as bad as some of the stories that I have read on this website. It is the fact that we, as customers, have literally no rights and no ability to negotiate or even reason with the company. I feel completely helpless and it is the most frustrating feeling! My plan is to share my story over the internet as much as possible in hopes that enough people will read it and others that are out there, and put an end to their accounts with Bell.

Let's launch a class action lawsuit. If you are willing to start a class action lawsuit against Bell, write me at **. We should stop complaining, since there are no results and Bell keeps laughing at all of us. My telephone service was cut off because I did refuse to pay for Bell TV service, which I do not have! Can you believe this? There are thousands and thousands of customers like us, being used, abused, overcharged, overbilled, lied to and spending hundreds and thousands of hours on the telephone trying to fix their problems!

Back in April of this year, I moved from my previous apartment and took my Bell Services with me. Because I was not allowed to have Bell Satellite at my previous apartment, this would be a good opportunity to try out Satellite TV. However, after three days, I did not like it so I called to have it disconnected. I eventually had to have the phone service switched to another service provider as well due to static/crackling on the phone line. This was done after many repeated attempts by Bell to fix the problem, I actually switched at the beginning of June. However, I kept the internet service as my contract ends in February 2013 and it is at that point, that I will decide to stay with Bell or not.
Now, the reason for contacting you is to ask for your help in resolving my present problem with Bell which is my refund of $87.76 that never arrived, despite my numerous calls to Bell. I am always promised to receive my refund within 4 weeks, but it is now 4 months and I am still waiting and waiting and waiting. It's always the same story, we are working on it and you should receive it in four weeks! If you can help me with this problem, it would be truly appreciated, but even just listening to my frustration with Bell helps. Thank you. This is from a senior citizen whose every penny counts these days!

We moved from Ontario to New Brunswick and have spent 7 months now, trying to resolve changing our cell phone from there to here. Their customer service is rude, uninformed, and tell you what will come on the bill in 30 days; and it does not happen. The cell we had broke. We purchased upfront from them another, which we changed to a New Brunswick phone number. Now today, they sent us a $400 bill for cancelling that phone, even though it's only been given a new phone number in New Brunswick. It's still with Bell. We still pay Bell. We purchased the phone at the Bell store and paid for it upfront, and they were telling us that they upgraded our technology. But we only asked for a durable phone.
We are senior citizens; we don't text, we don't photograph, and we only use it for emergencies. But they want $400, because we changed the phone number. If a lightning bolt hits them and puts out their computers, I wouldn't hand them a candle to use for light. It's a horrible company, and we have been with them for 18 years. I have no idea when they went down such a terrible road where it fleeces the customer as much as possible and run. Trying to get things fixed over the phone with their customer service can take hours on the phone. They even had me driving into town to the Bell store and back home to receive their phone calls. The stress with trying to straighten out anything with them is unreal. It's horribly unreal.

It's a long story, but I will try to be as concise as possible. In October, my ex signed up to Bell in my name. The guy came down with the equipment and installed it. I moved to Brantford and was there for two weeks, and left my ex. I went to a women's shelter. While in the shelter, I phoned Bell to cancel all services. The bell agent said I would be better off just putting it all on a hold as if I was going on holidays and then there would be no further billing for services at my former home. It sounded logical. After all, when I get my new place, I would need a phone and TV service, wouldn't I?
A few weeks later, I phoned them up to make sure they had followed instructions. They had not. My ex ran up $240 in three days on overseas calls through the phone service, which he shouldn't have been able to use. I spoke to a rather nice Bell lady, who said the other agent I was speaking to had no clue and she fixed that problem. She also put a note on my file advising that a long distance package be added and backdated so I wouldn't be screwed quite so bad. That seemed like a relief, so I tried working on getting my life back. At this point, I'm still in a shelter with my kids, with no job, and my ex had sold off everything I owned so I'm broke.
At this point, I started getting things back on track and by April, have paid off $1,500 and a final $4.64 to completely close the account. That included all charges for closing and equipment. I asked the agent, "Is that absolutely everything?" He said, "Yes, you are free and clear." I kept checking my account online for a few months to make sure. It was the most expensive month of Bell services ever, but no, everything was over and my debts were cleared. In fact, after phoning to double check, I ended up getting an internet service from them and have kept it.
Then last week, a collections agency emailed me demanding $998 owed to Bell. I explained that I don't owe Bell a penny and I've been paid up in full since April 11th of this year. I have an internet account with Bell so if they have issues, they could have contacted me anyway. Turns out that Bell gave the collection agency my email to extort money out of me for a bill I had paid in full. I just got off the phone with a collection agency and Bell representative. The rep from Bell just kept on lying and didn't seem to actually know any details of my file. After that, I was threatened by the collection agency with destroying my credit rating if I didn't pay promptly and in full.
Now what makes this really sad is that there isn't a way in hell I could pay the bill anyway. I'm at home with my kids in a crappy apartment. My ex doesn't pay child support and I'm going back to school in September. Now I may have problems with OSAP because Bell has chose to double bill me. By opening a completely closed account that was paid in full, Bell committed fraud. By giving the fraudulent debt to a collection agency without ever trying to contact me, Bell is participating in extortion. I have no intention of letting this go, I do not fund criminals. The only advice I can give someone dealing with Bell is document everything and record everything, it helps.

Last month (on 6/21 at 3:07 pm), I complained to Bell about a minor extra charge on my account for Standard Definition US Time Shifting as I get HD time shifting with one of my packages. Bell's customer service rep was loath to give me a $1 credit but eventually, after leaving me on hold for a while did so. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, I was again put on hold (for quite some time) and finally was told that the supervisor was not available but he would phone me back. Much to my surprise, I got a call (6/23 3:24 PM EST) from someone who identified himself as Marc (French accent) from Bell. He was very querulous and downright rude, just short of hostile. He asked me in an offensive manner, "Why do you want a credit?"
I told him, "You are very rude!" There was no apology, just static. So I asked, "What's the name of your supervisor?" His reply was, "I don't have a supervisor." Incredulously, I challenged Marc, "You're in charge of everything?" His reply was, "Yes." Mystified, I then asked (rather sarcastically), "I suppose you're in charge of programming too?" Marc's answer was, "Yes, that's right." Clearly, I had a problem. So, I thanked him for returning my call and hung up.
A lousy $1 a month credit for SD time-shifting was not worth the hassle of dealing with this insolent megalomaniac. Needless to say, I was absolutely livid and decided not to complain until I had cooled off which still has not happened. I'm still with Bell because: 1) as a retiree, I have a substantial investment in equipment; 2) my French-Canadian wife likes her French programs in HD; and 3) I need my NCAA sports packages. However, dealing with Bell's insensitive, rude, unapologetic, lying supervisor irks me no end.

In my exemplary case, I had a five-month long ordeal with Bell to simply cancel my three-phone plan, which includes BBB and CCTS complaints. Although Bell, in the end, has accepted honest error, I have spent more than 5 hours by phone fighting with the humiliating, so-called customer care of Bell without being able to cancel my contract. I am not counting the amount of time I had to write to BBB and CCTS. They have set up a scam by simply forgetting to cancel two phones from the plan. During more than a month, I talked to more than 10 Bells reps; all of them were viciously supporting this scam, as it is clear from my response to CCTS. I was shocked to discover that Bell teaches its employees that dishonesty and mind games are the only way to deal with its customers.
I have a detailed description of Bell’s wrongdoing and clear proof of the criminal content in Bell customer care actions. During my three-year contract with Bell Mobility, I was subjected to all of the company's despicable business practices, which included but were not limited to: First, violation of the verbally prepared contract in favor of Bell when the original contract was negotiated. I was not able to prove this since the customer service rep refused to provide timely confirmation of the contract conditions. Second, Bell's illegal and consistent refusal to provide confirmation in writing when I began the arduous process of trying to cancel my plan at the end of the contract term. Every time I talked to them, I insisted on getting a confirmation in writing of the cancellation. Instead, the staff attempted to confuse me by giving me conflicting information and reactivating the plan without my consent. In addition, they firmly and repeatedly refused to let me speak with a supervisor/manager about this issue.
Third, Bell's manipulation of the cancellation conditions without my consent. Fourth, Bell charging me for services that I no longer received and continuing to issue bills after the cancellation. And finally, I have suffered enormous humiliation from the customer service, when for hours every time I talked to them, they consistently deceived me. Twice, with the bill in hand, I caught them lying to me, but this did not deter them from further attempting to deceive me. And after more than five(!) hours of fierce fighting over the phone for the basic customer right to cancel a contract, they actually won. I was ready to pay any amount to Bell, just to put an end to this ordeal and enormous waste of time.
Thanks to my daughter, who suggested that I file a complaint with the BBB and CCTS, Bell was forced to restore the initial cancellation contract date, was not able to rip me off of my money and humiliate me further. In Bell’s template apology letter sent to me through the BBB, they proudly announced that they would correct their honest mistake and, in a timely fashion, they would compensate me the $11 that they overcharged me, which they again have forgotten to send me. Only after CCTS request I got the compensation. No mention, however, about the new bill that they issued for a service that they did not provide, their lying customer service reps, the hours of phone humiliation and many other wrongdoings that I had discussed in my complaints to the BBB and CCTS.
Unfortunately, both BBB and CCTS do not have any way to enforce the rules of normal business, which is despicably violated by Bell to maximize its profit. And due to wireless monopoly in Canada, customers do not have any ways to get honest service they deserve. I have a detailed description of my ordeal and Bell’s ridiculous excuses for their dishonesty are available upon request. I strongly believe that action must be taken to defend the right of thousands of Canadians that have no choice but to deal with this huge Canadian corporation. In order to do this, the public must be made aware of these ongoing issues. I know that this is not an isolated incident, and I have found countless accounts of such customer abuse by searching online and talking to my friends about this.

I had a Bell Mobility cell phone and faithfully paid my bill every month, then around September 2011 my ability to send/receive calls stopped. I contacted Bell and getting someone who understood English or spoke in a reasonable manner was difficult. But eventually I found out, they said they had not received my payment for that last 2 months. Now there is also an issue with this that goes back to when I bought the phone. I purchased it from Sounds Fantastic which was selling Bell Aliant phones and plans. I am in the process of my permanent residency here and when I bought the phone and the 3-year contract, everything was fine, until I started getting my services cut off. The salesman, at no time, mentioned a $300 cap on my service. Also, I had paid my bills, but Bell claimed they had not received payment. I checked with my bank and they also confirmed, Bell had indeed accepted the payments and everything was correct.
However, the bank pulled back the payments and resent them - bearing in mind I still was paying for this phone and still could not use it. I went into the Sounds Fantastic Store/Bell Aliant and asked them why they hadn't told me about the $300 cap, the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said, “What do you want me to do?” I told him that under no circumstances would I have continued with the contract had he told me that. He just laughed and said, “Well, you have to pay for it or cancel it and pay the fees, which were nearly $600.” To cut a long story short, they still hadn't sorted the bank issue out. I still had no service. I went into Sounds Fantastic/Bell Aliant again and said I wanted to pay my bill over the counter, they refused the payment unless I had a Mastercard or Visa. I said I didn't have one, he said, “Well, why don't you take yourself across the road and get one of those temporary ones or top-up ones.” I told him that there was no way I was going to do that. He then then just ignored me and went back to talking to his colleagues who were equally uninterested. I told him, “You were quick to help when you were trying to get my money.” He just ignored that, too.
Meanwhile I had phoned Bell several times and was met with the same language problems and they just would understand that the bank had sent the payments, I had the confirmation numbers, etc. Even when they escalated the call, the guy was totally useless and just repeated that I should pay the bill. I did, and resent them and so on, but he also told me that they would not reconnect the phone till I did, and they were going to charge me reconnection fees, late payment fees, etc. This left me with no option but to go to another service provider, Rogers, who cancelled my account with Bell and did explain the cap on the contract, which I was happy to live with as I knew about it. I asked the chap at Rogers, how important that piece of the contract was. He told me that it was critical, not that I could run up a bill, but it formed a major part of the agreement.
I could've sent a cheque to Bell, but there were 2 payments still in their system they claimed they couldn't find. Therefore, not only did I pay the bills, I wasn't going to send them anymore money and they forced me to take the only action I could. I recently got a call from a collection agency looking for over $900.00 for Bell. I explained that it was in dispute and what happened, however they called me on 3 different numbers including my workplace, something I had never given Bell. I told the collection company that if they ever called me again, I would report this, as I had never issued Bell or anyone with these numbers. They told me that Bell had given them the numbers. I have refused to pay, as they still have the money and having no prior issues payment, they penalized me and made no attempt to find or to facilitate a resolution. Their communication is brutal at best, its time sanctions were brought against Bell and a simplified process of reporting them or legal action is forced upon them from the communication watchdog.

From Sunday, the 15th of April, my internet service was unavailable, called Bell Canada and reported the problem. I was told that it was my alarm system that needed to be filtered. I called the alarm company they told me it was Bell Canada’s problem, which was on Monday. After work, I called Bell Canada to let them know that it was their problem. They told me it was because my home phone was canceled by Bell Canada and that's the reason why I have the problem. Okay, then they told me that they have to set up a ghost phone line in order to use the internet, fine by me. They told me that I won’t have to wait on the line, it will be done for Tuesday in the evening and the service will be restored. When I got home, there was no service, I called again and was told it was not done for some reason which they cannot tell me why after I was told that it would be done.
I really have trust issues with the people that represent Bell Canada. They cannot be trusted, lie through their teeth all the time. Anyways, I called on Wednesday to find out when the service will be restored and they said still the ghost line hasn’t been done but it will be done by 12 o’clock on Thursday night so the service will be Friday morning. I got up this morning, Friday, no service. I called Bell, the rep told me that it still was not done and that a technician will be assigned for today between 1-5 pm so that everything will be restored. I know what the outcome will be, the same. Bell Canada hires stupid people and contracts their reps from other countries to do the job and they are not trained to take care of the customer. All they are capable of doing is lie all the time.
I am with Bell for over 25 years and the service in all departments stink really bad. Another problem was the satellite dish, found a piece of the equipment from the satellite on the ground this morning when I was leaving for work, everything is falling apart. The pricing of the product is so expensive; the bogus policy that you people have it is disgusting. I am making it a point to let people know not to use your company. I was warned before I signed up with you people, but I did not listen. Big mistake, not again, I can’t wait for the contract to finish in January 2013. So far, I have been charged for product that was quoted to me from the go get how much my monthly bill would be. But when I got my first invoice, it was higher than the price on the product. It was totally different from the quote they gave me. Every month I have to sit down for 2 hours to go through my invoice to understand, it’s complicated.

You guys have no consideration or care for your clients. It’s sad and disgusting you have lasted this long. Now on a good note, your team seems to be very nice people and you have done a good job choosing them minus one ignorant person I have dealt with, but to be honest, I have grown up on Bell and you were always a reliable team. These days, I'm completely saddened by your lack of care and I will, till this day, forward never recommend Bell to anyone. It upsets me to think a company I've always trusted has turned into a company as low as Rogers. Good job Bell, you're only in it for the money, not for the people you appreciated back in the day.

In Jan of this year, Bell raised my rate so I tried to look for a cheaper service. When I found one, I canceled my Bell service on Feb 12, 2012. When I spoke to a Bell representative, I was told that I will have a credit coming back to me on the final bill but instead of credit, I got a $6.72 charge on the final bill. I called on April 6, 2012 at 6:10 pm and spoke to a customer service representative by the name of Edward. He said that the last bill has deactivation charges of $32.89 and also said that he cannot remove the charges. When I asked Edward if I can speak to a higher authority, he transferred me to the cancellation office where I spoke to Leah at 6:27 pm on April 16, 2012. She said that she is also not able to remove these charges and no one else would do it.
My complaint is that I was never told that there would be a "deactivation fee" when I got the Bell service nor was I told when I left Bell. I was with this service for over many years and I cannot afford to pay off this deactivation fee.

Today I find out they automatically continued my service after December so I owe for December, January, February and as of today, I have to pay another 30 days for the termination notice. So I will have paid for 4 more months after I was told my contract would expire. So Bell has been paid by me for one full year and not one minute of use on the phone. When I received my first bill, I was surprised to see a total of $402.32 that apparently included set up and installation charges when I called Bell Canada accounts department to clarify. Without any equipment rentals at $75.00 per month, I realized that I was getting a horrible deal, so I decided to call Bell if I can close the account and switch to wireless as I don't live at the store. My husband wasn't home and I said I just need to speak with him and I will call Bell the next day. I phoned the next day and accepted the offer. The second day, I phoned Bell to cancel that offer because I made a contract with a cheaper company providing me with a higher gigabyte than Bell and the woman who took the telephone call tried to convince me about other offers for the telephone but I wasn't satisfied and I said cancel the internet service and leave my old plan for the TV and told them don't change it, cancel the net service only. She told me that the service would be terminated by the end of Jan and you have to return the modem with your final billing and according to this conversation I unplugged my modem and not using the Bell net service .
Today, I contacted the internet service asking for the final billing and how to return the modem. They said that the cancellation hasn't been done and I have to pay because they will cancel the service starting from today. I told them I am not using a single gigabyte because I have a contract with Shaw since that time. Now, they are asking me to pay until March 14th for a service that I am not using and they checked and found that I am not using the service since that time (the modem is unplugged). This is a story of fraudulent charges by the Billing Department of Bell Canada and such a display of intransigence of mind that they refuse to actually investigate their own international connection error.
This error began in May and continued through June and July before it stopped, however, this did not deter the Billing Department from charging 152 calls at 14 cents per minute to the sum of $640.00 for a call that cannot be completed.
In order to prevent accidentally connecting a landline phone call to a cell phone, it is a common practice to never have a number common both to a cell phone and a landline phone. If you attempt to call the number with the 521 prefix, you are greeted by the automatic operator advising that this number cannot be completed as dialed. Of course not! Although the prefix is that of a cell phone, the number that follows is a landline phone and the automatic switching equipment will not allow it and will advise you so. Because it has a 521 prefix, the Billing Department says that it is a cell phone and because the statement says that many minutes were spent on the line in conversation, hence, the Billing Department says that the call was completed and therefore the charges are valid.
Herein is the quandary. How is it possible to make a complete connection and spend more than a half hour in several cases on a connection that the automatic equipment will not permit to be completed? The equipment will not allow a cell phone prefix followed by a landline number to be completed. They are in conflict. Even if by accident a person were to enter the wrong prefix, the automatic equipment would not allow the call to be completed; so why are we being billed as if the calls were completed. When we first became aware of this error on our June statement, we contacted Bell to advise them of this error but were summarily dismissed as a customer trying to get out of paying our bill. They refused to actually phone the number themselves to corroborate or repudiate our claim that the number they are charging us for is a bogus number that cannot be completed. Bell refuses to even investigate the possibility that the number we were connected to was a landline phone that the switching equipment has identified as a cell phone because of the wrong prefix.
No matter to whom you are speaking or to which department you have been directed, the answer is always the same. If we ask them to call the complete number to ascertain the truth of our claim, they say that they do not have access. Imagine! A telephone company that says it cannot make a telephone call. The truth of what they are saying is that they will not make the call and totally rely on the accuracy of their billing statement which they claim cannot be in error.
Bell Canada is capable of tracking any telephone number to anywhere in the world if they so choose. They simply do not choose and are punishing me for their error.
We are on Bell One Bill, which also includes our television service through Bell Expressvu which has nothing to do with our phone bill or any dispute that may occur between us and the telephone company. I have paid my entire bill up to date with the exception of the $640.00 they have charged us for a number that cannot be completed. Nonetheless, they have not only terminated our home phone but have also discontinued our television service. They are punishing us for their mistake and are trying to intimidate us into paying fraudulent charges for which they have no explanation except to claim that they are valid. I do not have the resources to fight Bell Canada of which they are well aware but in this case, they are completely wrong.
I will not pay the fraudulent $640.88 and so I must now seek another telephone company for my home phone and another company to provide television dish service. This really sucks. The Billing Department is either too lazy or too incompetent to pursue this travesty to adjust conclusion. There was no investigation or action taken just an intransigent attitude that states that the charges are valid and will not be reversed. They will not call the number themselves to confirm or repudiate my claim that the calls they are charging me for cannot be completed.

It is indeed unfortunate that after many months of dispute, I am compelled to once again advise Bell Canada that they have made a billing mistake on my account, which they simply refuse to acknowledge. The evidence is indisputable that the mistake rests with Bell and not with my account. It is inherent in the charges which have been applied to my account that I have been billed for a bogus number. Bell Canada operators recognize that number as illegitimate and not capable of completion. The prefix may be to a cell phone. But the digits that follow belong to a landline home phone and cannot be completed. It is an error in posting for which we are being charged and punished.
We have attempted on several occasions to call this bogus number only to be interrupted by the operator advising: “This number cannot be completed as dialed. Please hang up and try again.” Reason and logic dictate that if we are truly connected to a number and are engaged in a two way conversation, then it must be a connection which the operator has allowed, not one that is refused completion. And yet, we are being charged for 152 calls for a total of $670.88 to a number that cannot be completed as dialed. We have asked our friends to call this number, in which they receive the same interruption by the operator. We have asked the staff of the billing department to dial the complete number in order to confirm this bizarre contradiction. How can this be? The call cannot be completed and yet we are being charged as if it was completed. It is a bogus number. It is a combination of a cell phone prefix and a land line home phone which the operator recognizes every time and will not allow to be completed. The answer is obvious. The number for which we are being billed is not the number to which we were connected. Do you charge your customers for calls that cannot be completed, in which the operator advises you cannot be completed as dialed?
Beginning in May and ending in July 2011, we have been charged 14 cents a minute for a call that cannot be completed as dialed. We have had our friends call this number. They receive the same response and we have repeatedly asked members of your accounting department to take the time to call the number, so that they can receive the same response. The number for which we are being charged does not exist. It is bogus. The number is as follows: **. The number that is underlined is the cell phone prefix. But it is followed by a landline number containing only nine rather than the necessary ten digits for completion. Try it yourself and see if you can get through without the operator advising you that this number cannot be completed as dialed. We have been charged $670.88 for a number that cannot be completed. The actual number that was dialed was: **. In this case, the underlined number is the landline prefix for this area and it is followed by ten digits. This is the number for which we received a connection and for which we are not to be charged, because it is part of our plan with Bell Canada.
Our quandary is this: How can we be charged for a call that cannot be completed and which, on every occasion, the operator interrupts and advises that the call cannot be completed as dialed? Nonetheless, the billing department states that we did complete and spent long periods in conversation. What is wrong with this picture? Compare the digits of the two numbers and the answer is obvious.
During the period of May to July 2011, the billing department has charged us 14 cents a minute. That was 152 calls for a total of $670.88 for a number that does not exist. The balance of the account has been completely paid. Bell Canada owes us a credit of $670.88, because they have charged us 14 cents a minute for a telephone number that does not exist. It does not matter whether it is a landline home phone, a cell phone, or a connection to a U.S. satellite. If you cannot complete the call, then you cannot be charged. It is self-evident from the number of minutes duration and the number of calls that were made that calls were completed. But they were not completed to the number for which we are being charged. It's because that is a bogus number that the operator will not permit to be completed. You somehow have a connection problem for which we are being punished and falsely charged. We have had our phone connection terminated and our television service disrupted for what is clearly Bell Canada's mistake. We have the proof and the witnesses to corroborate this assertion.
You should conduct a thorough investigation into this travesty and re-establish our phone service and television service. Also, you should render credit to us not only for the 14 cents a minute charges to the tune of $670.88, but also for the days that we have been without our service. Otherwise, you compel us to place this matter into litigation and claim not only the credit due to us, but also the legal expenses that we incur through your stubborn failure to rectify this error on the part of Bell Canada. I am certain that all the other phone services with which Bell Canada is in competition would be delighted to be acquainted with this ruthless treatment by their competitors. This includes the numerous television services competing with Bell Expressvue. I am equally certain that Facebook and Twitter would also find this story interesting. I do not appreciate being shafted by anyone or anything. Not even a notable company such as Bell is above being charged with fraud, usury, and deliberate harassment. You have already cut my phone and television service because of your mistake, which so far you have failed to investigate and resolve.
I cannot understand how supposedly intelligent billing representatives simply refuse to see the obvious. There is no such number as **. Your operators know this and will not permit the call to be completed. Yet, you insist on charging, punishing and harassing us over what is clearly your error, not ours. What the heck is the matter with you people? Do you not have any ethics or integrity? Do you delight in cheating your customers by charging them for your mistakes? Oh! Believe me! I understand perfectly. You will no doubt claim that we dialed a non-existent number 152 times and that we had long conversations on a line that your operator will not permit to be completed.
After all, the billing department cannot possibly be wrong. When have they ever made a mistake? If the billing statement says that we were on a cell phone connection, even if their operator will not allow the call to be completed, then the billing department must be right and their operator. And we are completely wrong. They are going to make us pay regardless of the evidence and witnesses to the contrary. They will teach us a lesson! They will cut off our phone and television services and see how we like that. How dare we insult the billing department by suggesting that they have made a mistake? How dare we have the audacity to claim that we should not be charged for calls to a number that does not exist? How dare we not expect the billing department to punish and harass us, because we refuse to pay for calls to a non-existent cell phone? How dare we actually expect the billing department to dial the full number and see if the operator will let it go through? How dare we expect the billing department to issue us a credit for their mistake?
My God! Are we daft? Are we out of our minds? How stupid can we be? The billing department does not make mistakes. It is free from error and occupies a level above mortal man. It does not have the time to descend from its lofty status to investigate an error in its billing statement. There was a time when Bell Canada showed courtesy and respect to its customers. But that was in the distant past. Today, they do not give a ** who they hurt or how wrong they might be. Today, they do not care about their image or stature in the community, so long as they can cheat customers by charging them for their own mistakes and errors.
I have no intention of paying the $670.88. If you would like to take me to court, I have tangible proof and witnesses to support that the number for which I have been charged cannot be completed. Therefore, it was an impossible connection that never took place. That number is a landline home phone which is covered under our plan and for which there are no charges. This is a billing mistake which Bell Canada refuses to acknowledge. Be assured that any respect that I may have held for Bell Canada in the past has been diligently extirpated. It is due to the billing department's determination to cover up their mistake by punishing me and claiming that we actually made calls to a number that does not exist. And their own operator refuses to make a connection.
Are they really that stupid? Are they really that criminal? There is none so blind as those who will not see. There is none so immoral as those who deliberately choose others to be punished for their crimes. There is none so lacking in shame and bereft of conscience than those whose intransigence of mind is their only claim to the human race. Those we spoke to in the billing department who responded only with pompous arrogance and who assumed that a billing statement issued by a computer is beyond error and not subject to mistake will, in time, harvest the result of their deluded position. Albeit, Bell Canada has lost a great deal more than the $670.88 it has overcharged me. Its image is now tarnished and its disgraceful practices will now become public knowledge, for which I hope to take a small measure of credit. When you stick it to one customer you, in effect, stick it to all customers and diminish yourself in the eyes of the community. Bell Canada is no longer the respected institution that it used to be and has allowed its tunnel vision regarding itself to besmirch its once pristine image.
I feel nothing but pity and contempt for your intractable refusal to investigate this billing mistake with an open mind. Some of those we spoke to were not only offensive in their accusations but also haughty and snotty in suggesting that we made these calls to a cell phone and are just trying to wiggle out of our debt. Yet, not one of them took the trouble to dial the complete number to determine whether there really is someone on the other end and whether the operator will allow the call to be completed. I strongly advise you to rectify this mistake to my complete satisfaction, lest you force me to employ legal tactics that will not please you. Your reputation is your greatest asset. Do not allow it to be stained and diminished through a cover up of your error.

My name is Xigen **, a resident of Vancouver, B.C. In September 2010, I purchased a golden number (**) at $480 from an employer at a Bell store located at Crystal Mall, Burnaby, B.C. My intention was to use this number for my future take-out business. I was told that I could keep this number if I refill $15 in every three months.
Accordingly, I refilled the number on January 5, 2011 and May 6, 2011 respectively. My last time refill was on May 6th and it should expire on June 6th. However, on August 14, 2011, I was astonished to find that the number has been transferred to somebody else.
I immediately called the Bell customer service representative. I spoke with one female customer representative who recognized the fact that my last refill was on May 6 and it expired on June 6. Then she put me to another department (resolution center?).
Mr. ** (ID number: **) answered my call and he confirmed the above mentioned fact. He said that he could not resolve the problem and asked me to call the supervisor of the customer service department on Monday.
Because I was worried that somebody inside Bell illegally sold my number and he/she may erase my information, I called the customer service department again and Mr. ** (EX **) answered my call and he also confirmed the fact that I refilled the number on May 6, 2011 last time.
I was suspicious that some Bell employees might erase or change the information on record. Unfortunately, when I finally talked to the supervisor, my phone was cut and I have tried many times to reach Bell but the telephone was always busy.
I wanted a reasonable explanation from Bell for the following:
Why was my private information in Bell changed so easily? Why does Bell let its employees sell and purchase the telephone number?
Why did somebody inside Bell close my account while it was still in good standing?
Why did not I have the right to keep the number for 120 days?

Bell Canada phoned me today at my home to tell me that I had won an ADT alarm system absolutely free at no cost to me. Then, he proceeded to tell me that I was one of only 40 people in Ontario to be lucky enough to win this $2,000 package absolutely free. Free alarm, remotes, digital key pad, two-door entry monitoring, motion detector and installation absolutely for free. I said to him, "You mean free?" And he said, "Yes, sir, free." I asked when will this happen and he said that they would come out and install it today.
I said, "sounds good," (still skeptical) and then he told me that ADT would move my alarm for free if we ever choose to move--and that the alarm is ours and we would own it. After this, I was in agreement that they could come today and install it. Then the salesman on the end of the phone told me that ADT monitors the alarm 24/7 but for that, it would cost me $33/month. I replied, "I thought this was free?" He said, "Yes, sir, the alarm is free but the service is $33/month," and that I could pay by checking account or credit card. I was taken aback and he told me that if we are to avail of the service today, there would be a one-time fee of $99 to be put on the list with the Police, Fire and Ambulance in case there was ever a fire.
So now, he has me. He is putting the pressure on telling me that I need to give him the okay and have a void check ready when the installer shows up. Well, after phoning my wife about it, we decided not to do it. I told him that now that it was going to cost us and there was a fee attached, I was no longer interested. His reply was that they could waive the $99 fee if I like. At this point, I was flabbergasted. This is nothing more than a way to get someone to enter into a contract without even the time to think it over rationally and decide if this is something anyone, not just me, would enter into. Chin told me that he could do better than Rogers so I humored him and he gave me some good options. He called Bell to see what my cancellation fees would be. He handed the phone to me and the person on the phone said that he could do better than the store could and asked me to call 611 after I left the store to discuss. I thought it was odd that Bell would try to steal business from their partners but after all, I was leaving Bell because of the hassles I have had.
When I left the store, I called 611 and was told that I couldn't cancel my account. Trey said that I was not the key contact and as it was a corporate account, I needed to talk to Bell Corporate. When I asked to be connected, he said that they were only open till 5pm EST. As it was only 3pm in Edmonton, I told him that this was unacceptable for a corporate client to not have access to corporate care during my business hours. He apologized and I told him that wasn't good enough. He again told me that I needed to talk to the key contact. Not knowing who it could be, I asked him to tell me.
The bill comes to my address and I pay it from my company account so I deserve to know who the key contact is. He said he wasn't authorized to tell me. I told Trey to connect me to his supervisor and he refused for twenty minutes citing over and over that I was not the key contact and their department didn't deal with corporate accounts. Finally, I insisted that I didn't want him to do anything else except transfer me to his supervisor. He repeatedly would tell me that he and his supervisor could not do anything for me. I told him that I didn't care what they could or could not do, all I wanted is to talk to his supervisor. That was the only thing I wanted from him. Finally, I told him that I was not going anywhere until he solved one of my two problems. We sat in awkward silence for another twenty minutes. Finally, he transferred me to Bell Corporate Western and within five minutes, the person was able to tell me who was the contact as well as the cancellation process.
It is ridiculous that clients have to experience this. I had almost been convinced to stay by Chin at the partner store but now I am leaving Bell permanently and letting as many of my friends and clients know the pain that it is to be a Bell customer. I am going to post my story on Facebook, Twitter and as many forums and opinion sites as I can find.
This has been the most frustrating customer service issue I have endured (and we were Telus customers before Bell so that is saying a lot). Bell does nothing to make the situation right or help solve the problem. They just create roadblocks and make it difficult to be their customer.
I don't know where this will end up or what changes it will cause. I highly doubt that a company that allows this to happen will ever have the wherewithal to correct itself. I cannot wait until the US providers come to Canada and provide the much-needed. Lack of organization between Bell's various departments is Bell's problem. It is not the customer's problem. Stop giving customers the run-around. Bell overcharged me and did not do what Bell said it will do.
So am I Bell's next victim? Why is my total-internet-usage-allowance now reduced from 40gb (which is what I am paying for) to 33.42gb? This business is not a BBB accredited business. Based on BBB files, this business has a BBB rating of F on a scale from A+ to F. Factors that lowered this business' rating include failure to honor commitment, to arbitrate disputes or mediate disputes.

Details of the service delivery problem: Today (9/12/10), I sent two e-mail to friends notifying them of my new bell.net e-mail address (service was just connected on 4/12/10 as we just moved from Ottawa to Aurora). The first e-mail went out at 7:18 p.m. The second was attempted at 9:02 p.m. but immediately, I received a message back indicating that Bell suspended my account because they "noticed some unusual activity in your Hotmail account. To help protect you, we've temporarily blocked your account".
Steps I took to try to resolve the problem: I called 310-SURF, Bell's technical support line and spoke to Marcelo (agent ID no. **) about 9:15 p.m. on 9/12/10. What the service provider said/did: the Bell representative refused to resolve the problem, stating that I exceeded my quota for outgoing mail (recall from above, I sent one message successfully today and my account was blocked on the second message) thereby violating my user service agreement. As I pointed out, the user service agreement (http://explore.live.com/microsoft-service-agreement?ref=none is the link provided to me in the notification sent by Bell) contains nothing whatsoever that refers to a daily quota, nor does it refer to any account suspensions except for subversive activity or failure to pay.
The Bell rep continued to argue that he couldn't reactivate my e-mail service. He said all he could do was to raise a ticket (ticket number **) and send to some other department called SNET, with whom he would not permit me to speak, and that they might reactivate my e-mail account sometime in the next 72 business hours...maybe. I informed the Bell representative that we would not pay for the service during the time period that it was unavailable to us, to which he responded that he could do nothing about that and referred me to Bell's business office, which was conveniently closed.
I asked for the name and phone number of a senior executive (such as the VP of client service) and the Bell representative refused to provide this information. I asked for the Bell rep's manager's name and contact number and he, again, refused to provide the information, stating that his manager does not ever speak to clients. What I consider to be a reasonable resolution: 1) My e-mail be reactivated as immediately as it was disconnected; 2) Bell Canada change its user agreement to specifically state that users sending more than one message a day risk having their account suspended due to service agreement violations; 3) That Bell Canada change its business practices and warn all clients up front that it has the common practice of unilaterally suspending someone's account after they attempt to send more than one e-mail daily; 4) That Bell Canada offer us one year free service (our Internet, home phone and long distance are bundled and connected to this account) for this neglectful, disrespectful and blatant abuse of power with respect to client service and us as clients; and 5) Bell Canada apologize formally.

My situation has been carrying on for the month of November. Many calls were recorded on the answering machine without messages left and some with just static noise. Some calls were made as late as 10 p.m. and as early as 7:30 a.m. When trying to answer the call, only silence was on the other end. The number 69 showed each time they call me. My Bell bill is paid in full and they still kept calling. To call ten times a day is harassment--with no explanation for it. No messages have been left for the call when the bill has been already paid. If there was a problem with the bill, they should have left a message. But my records show that everything has been paid up to date.

For the last two months my wife and I have been bugged by a number out of Montreal (514) 392-9228 which I discovered was Bell Canada. These people do not leave a number and I will not respond until Bell is upfront and behaves like a good corporate citizen, not what appears to be a dodgy telemarketer. Please contact the people responsible and tell them to cease and desist or I will call the BBB.

I am 70 years old. My pension does not allow me to have expensive telephone services. so I decided to disconnect all my phones. About one and half years ago, I wanted to disconnect my two phone lines and my cell phone with bell telephone. I had never been late with my bill payments. I had bell service for most of my life. They put me through to their people to whom I explained that I did not want their services anymore. They misunderstood and refused to disconnect my phone lines, ** and ** and my cell phone ** . This went on almost every day for about a month.
Finally one day after speaking to 13 of their personnel, I called the (Canadian Radio-Television & Telecommunications Commission) CRTC who gave me the number to the bell executive offices. A woman who answered told me that I had to pay a disconnection fee. She asked me how I got her number and told her it was the CRTC. Finally my land lines were disconnected. Bell cellular demanded an $800 disconnection fee. I had suffered a heart attack and could no longer take the stress, so I agreed to pay it. I started to pay what I could, $15 or $20 a month.
Months later when the bill was down to $560, I got a letter in French from Bell's collection agency. I asked them to write to me in English as no one around me speaks French. I also explained that I had been paying the bill, if this is what it was about. Then I did not hear from them. I wondered why. Also Bell had put a bad rating on my credit. About a week ago, I was cleaning out my Montreal gazette box in front of my house and found a judgement against me for $560. I need help to deal with this. Is there an advocate I can contact to help me with this. I would appreciate any help you can give us.

I recently purchased a Bell Turbo Stick from the Bell store in the Eaton Center. I was told that I had a 15-day buyers remorse to return the product. I was also told that there would be an update for snow leopard (an operating system on mac computers) on August 23rd; there is still no update for snow leopard. So right there I was lied to. The lady at the Bell store is now trying to tell me she said August 29th, and that is only an estimate: there is no guarantee, another ** explanation and avoidance of the issue.
I have MAC laptop and was only able to use the device on a friend's computer, but I had to spend close to 4 hrs on the phone with tech support over the first week of having the device to get it to work. I was expecting that the update would be ready for me on August 23rd, so then I could just use my laptop. After finally getting it to work properly, I went over 50 megabytes, which I am now told is a limit for the buyers remorse. I wasn't given clear instructions on this at the store at the time of purchase. I have spent close to 6 hrs on the phone with tech support, customer services and sales. Every time we get it to work, it conks out the next time I load it up. In the contract, it doesn't state that I have to spend 1 hr everyday on the phone with tech support getting the device to work.
I don't understand how I can be sold a product that takes 1 hr of my time everyday to work. I asked them where in the contract does it say that I have to spend all this time to get it to work. They just tell me that it's too bad and that I have to deal with it. I am not even given an option; they keep telling me it's too bad. I have a product that doesn't work, and am told by the company that sold it to me that it's my fault and there is nothing they can do. I have spoken to supervisors at customer service over the phone and they tell me that there is no one else I can speak to, which I don't believe either. They must have a superior that I can speak to. I am feeling really upset and frustrated, and that is why I have emailed you. I feel that I am being terribly mistreated, and I don't know what to do.
I have wasted hours of my time, been extremely frustrated and unable to do my work properly. This whole episode has cost me a lot of money in wasted time away from work.

A minute later the phone rings again, and a male voice said "Is there a problem with Bell Canada? " I said "Yes, there is a ** problem, why are you calling at 11:45pm at night?" and hung up. Consumers need to be made aware that dealing with Bell Mobility store staff does not necessarily reflect Bell Mobility office records. Recently my son was contacted by Bell indicating he was due for a hardware replacement for his cell phone. Since his cell phone had frequently been flaky he went to the local Bell store in our area at Markville mall to investigate. The bell sales rep showed him the replacement options and indicated since his contract had expired March 2010 he would need to sign up for a three year plan when replacing his cell. Since the phone and rate plans shown him did not meet his requirements he went to Rogers. Rogers had an excellent student plan so he purchased a new Blackberry phone.
The next day when I called the Bell office to cancel his service they indicated there was another 7 months left on the contract. The contract did not expire until March 2011 not 2010. Therefore I would be required to pay a $100 penalty plus one month cell service fee. When I indicated the store staff had said the contract was expired March 2010 they reported the store staff do not always check the records accurately and I should have called the bell office to confirm and since I did not obtain proof what the store staff had said I would be required to pay the high penalty.
Who does that? Who goes to a store and documents what the sales rep is telling them and have them sign a piece of paper indicating what they were told. I understand this rep probably wanted to sign up another customer for 3 years for his commission. This kind of shady salesmanship is unacceptable to consumers. When I requested to be transferred to a Manager with my concerns I was told that I could write a letter to the bell office.
I know this is just another consumer complaints to add to the increasing number of consumers that are dissatisfied with Bell Mobility service but I think it's important for consumers to know that Bell does not stand behind the sales staff in the local Bell stores. I had no idea that dealing with a bell store does not necessarily reflect the Bell office records. Consumers are continually getting ripped off by misleading sales rep at Bell stores and I am sure I am not the only customer who has had this happen to them. During this period when many consumers are purchasing cells for kids returning to schools it's important for consumers to carefully check everything when dealing with Bell.

2) When calling customer service, don't bother taking the name and employee number of the customer service rep. It does not mean or do anything and you have no evidence of ever talking to a rep.
3) The customer service rep will promise you everything you want to hear.
4) They will tell you that they will reverse charges. This in reality won't happen.
5) If Changing your plan, or getting a new one, they will offer you discount packages and bundles that seem too good to be true. These bundles don't exist. Don't follow up with them, because the next agent will deny such a package existed or simply say that the previous operator did not have the authorization to offer you such package
6) What is offered by the customer representative still has to be approved by someone else and it does not unless you call back. Then they will give you more promises and you are in a vicious circle.
7) Cancel or get out of the contract with Bell as soon as possible. You will be over billed and will never get your money back.
8) Never agree to pre-authorized billing. Never give them you credit card. Bell will continue charging you even after you've cancelled. Their excuse is they need 30 day written notice, and even though you've given it, they deny ever receiving it!

I am a really unhappy "winback" customer who went back to Bell in November (November 20th, 2009 to be precise) after we left Bell a year prior due to major issues we had with the firm's service. Unfortunately, the alternative provider we went with was not much better, and their actual service was worse, so we came back to Bell, having been promised with improved customer service. I'm sad to say that at this point in time, we have been lied to, deceived, and misled, and Bell has flat out acted fraudulently and continues to do so.
We have been told that we can leave the company and won't be charged any disconnection fees or termination fees should we choose to leave as they cannot do what they promised us in the original quote. However, it has taken us 8 months to finally get to the point where we could even compare our actual bill with the quote we had been given, so I am writing to share our horror story/saga/drama with the world as Bell needs to learn that each and every customer does matter and, nowadays, does have a voice not to mention that I am absolutely fed up, frustrated, furious and incensed that a company this large is so completely incompetent and is so willing to blatantly lie and commit fraud, figuring that no one will really notice or care. Well, I noticed and I care, and Bell Canada owes me at least $420.24 that I am quite certain I will never see.
First, let me make it clear that we switched all our services to Bell Canada and thus we have satellite TV with 2 HD PVRs; one regular digital receiver and a 4th regular HD receiver, 2 mobile phones, home phone and high-speed internet all with Bell. We were given a quote (that I have on paper for home phone, internet, and the satellite TV) for a total cost of $169.27/month including tax for the first year of service ($147.20/month before tax), and the cost will increase to $208.83/month including tax after the first year of discounts and promotional events ends. This is what I agreed to and I thought it was a decent deal, hence, our return to Bell. So, how did this turn into an absolute nightmare/drama/saga that appears will only end with us leaving Bell Canada and with their permission no less?
First, after phoning Bell and receiving different quotes from different people at three different times regarding my investigation into returning to Bell after our dissatisfaction with another provider, it should be noted that I physically walked into the Bell One World store located in Masonville Mall in Ontario, Canada on November 13, 2009 to speak in person about the improvements to customer service that I had heard about through the media that were pledged by Mr. Kevin C., the new President of Residential Services at Bell Canada. After my inquires, I was assured that Bell was making improvements in this area, and therefore, I became interested in the costs associated with switching our services back to Bell. It was at this time that the salesperson, Joe **, put together the aforementioned quote for me. I was pleased with the quote and, with my permission, Joe placed the order for the satellite TV, home phone, and high-speed internet installation which was to be installed on November 20th, 2009.
Unfortunately, the computer system was really giving poor Joe grief, and it kept crashing every time he got into placing the order. After my hanging around for 3 hours, I suggested I go home and he calls me when he was finally able to get it into the system, and in tears himself, out of frustration, he agreed. I got home (I live a 40 minute drive away from the mall) and a couple hours later, I received the call from Joe saying it had finally worked and he had the documents for me to sign. I went back to the store, perused the documents to ensure everything appeared to be in order, and signed the documents. Having completed the home services order, I inquired about cellular phones. I walked out of Bell One World with a working iPhone for myself (having never had a cell phone before) and a contract I was pleased with.
On November 20th, 2009, the installation technicians arrived. I should have been concerned that the home phone wasn't on the installation order and the internet technician had to suddenly add it. That should have tipped me off that we were doomed for headaches. On that installation day, not only was the order incomplete, but the new home we were in somehow, along the way, had the lines cut, so a temporary phone line was hung over our roof and pulled tightly so the line ran right through the view from the second story windows. This, at that time, appeared to be not a big deal as the technician said he would place an order to have the line buried quickly and as long as we didnt have a serious ground frost in the next few weeks, it would be buried by the time the snow came. Okay, so the phone and internet are in and working.
The Satellite TV technician had some trouble running all the necessary lines to get our satellite TV working in all the rooms it needed to, but in the end, did the best job he could, given the limitations, and we appeared to have working TV too! At the end of all his efforts, the satellite TV technician handed me a mobile device and asked me to sign the screen, verifying that the work was complete. On the screen was a spot for my signature, so I signed. Then, he pulled up another document for me to sign. Again, on the screen was a place for me to sign, but also visible was some wording that appeared to be the end of a document of some type. I realized that I had not been told that this was more than just a sign here document and quickly discovered that I could actually scroll up, and there, hidden above the place where my signature was to go, was an entire document/contract of sorts.
As I began to read this document, I discovered that it said on it that the satellite TV bill would be charged directly to my MasterCard each month, something I had never agreed to nor did I want. When I asked the technician about this, he said that I had to phone in to get that corrected but it would take a long time to get through. So, I phoned in and waited. As I waited, the satellite technician obviously was in a real hurry to get out of the house and I simply assumed that it was way past this big fellows lunch time and he probably wanted to go. I asked him if he had to wait for me and he said no, so I walked him to the door, thanked him, and off he went. Only later on did I discover that he forged my signature on his handheld device on that second unsigned TV contract the day of the installation. I did get someone to ensure the bill would not be charged automatically to my credit card though and have never had an issue in that regard.
On November 21, 2009, I returned to speak with Joe at Bell One World to thank him and to let him know the services had been successfully installed. I also ended up buying my husband an iPhone and switching him from his previous cell phone service provider over to Bell also (he even got to keep his same phone number) as it made sense to get all the bundle discounts we could, and the plan for the two of us to be with the same provider seemed pretty good. I again walked out of Bell One World, really feeling like their service was very much improved, had another new and working iPhone, and a whole house service bundle package that seemed like a great deal.
We received our first bills (yes, bills, we had bills coming in all over the place) in December 2009. We had been told that the first bills might be a bit big because of hook up fees and such and that we should go see Joe with the bills if the credits didn't appear on the second set of bills. As a result, we paid these first bills promptly. On January 14, 2010, I received a collections letter threatening to disconnect our home phone services for a $101.45 charge that was overdue but was stated at the top of this letter as being due by January 15th (the next day).
Knowing that all our bills were paid in full thus far, I phoned and first spoke with Clarence at Bell TV Billing who put me through to Shiva who explained that collections had us flagged because the February 10th bill (that has not even been printed yet, let alone mailed to us) is large due to a collect call that was made and is included on this bill. I asked how on earth they could threaten to cut off our services for an overdue account that has not even yet been billed, printed, or mailed to us. At which point, Shiva stated, "Oh" and transferred me to a Senior Manager in the Residential Billing Department named Raymond (who also conveniently gave me the same ID number). Raymond called the collections department to figure it out and came back to tell me that telling, "No, it is not an overdue account and that was an error."
In fact, the January bill had just been mailed on January 10th (we had not yet received it in the mail) and was due on February 9th. I also asked him about the bundle discounts that we had been promised but had yet to see any sign of. Raymond informed me that the bills are automatically and individually generated and only at my request (good thing I phoned or this process would never even have begun as I thought everything was going to come all on one bill from the start and simply assumed the first set of bills were due to the start-ups) would the bills would be condensed into the one bill but this actually can't be fully implemented for a couple of months due to the way the systems are set up; it would happen slowly over a couple of months.
As a result, I was told we'd get no bundle discounts until the "one bill" was finally done (despite what we were promised when we placed the multiple product order with Bell and had everything installed on the same day). However, Raymond said he would give us a $10 credit to make up for the 2 months of no home phone bundle discount. However, we have never ever seen any sign of this credit to date (it is now July 9th).
Then, on January 25, I identified that we were receiving 2 bills for TV, each with their own account number and both charging us for the basic satellite services packages that we ordered but each bill having different receivers on it (one had the two HD PVRs and the other bill had the plain HD receiver and the basic digital receiver). As a result, we were paying twice for the satellite TV services/packages that we had ordered. I phoned and spoke with Jennifer who said that because of the number of receivers we had ordered for the TV and the way the systems are set up, the order had to go in as two separate contracts.
I didn't exactly follow, but she seemed to realize what had happened and she said she cancelled one and consolidated the bill and we would get a credit for the 2nd bill over payment we had paid of $103.22 on the next bill. She also said to not pay the second bill we had received this month as it was the one being cancelled, and so we should only pay the single bill that was the one having all the correct TV stuff being consolidated onto it.
On February 12, I again phoned in because we again got two TV bills. I spoke with Quareen who explained that Jennifer had not done the work as she had claimed she had. The 2nd TV account was not cancelled or closed, so Quareen did it and we were told we would see the $103.22 credit on our next bill and said she'd give us a $20 satisfaction credit to help make up for the error and yet another month where we wouldn't get the bundle discounts (Note: we never ever did get this $20 credit).
On the afternoon of February 12th, we received yet another collections/disconnection threat letter for the large phone bill that we received in mid-late January (as discussed previously) and was due February 9th. However, we had paid this bill in full on February 8th and, when I called and spoke with Raleh he said that yes, payment was received and everything was fine. The collections notice was automatically generated by the system as a result of the previous error that meant our account was flagged and, as such, we may get a few more letters from collections threatening disconnections but we should ignore them as it would take a bit for the error to be resolved by the system. Nice system, I must say. I asked whether or not this was leaving a negative mark on my credit record, to which I was assured that no, everything was fine, it was just the way the systems worked as we had been previously flagged (never mind that this was an error on their part) and we just needed to be patient.
Next, on February 27th, we received a one bill that was outrageous 11 pages long with a previous balance of $724.28 on it and a total amount due number of $541.48. After inspection, it was very clear that there was some serious messes occurring. On this bill we were being charged for a mobile phone that was not ours (it was not our phone number or anything) and there was a wireless mobile rocket stick with huge fees attached to it that was certainly not ours we don't even have a wireless mobile rocket stick, and the TV charges were still not correct. So, I phoned and was transferred almost immediately to the Multi Product Solution Centre where I spoke with Dave.
Dave was dumbfounded as he began looking over the notes in the account but was fortunately able to identify the rightful owners of the mobile phone and the rocket stick and assured us that this was resolved and we would be credited for these errors on the next bill. The TV charges were still a mess, though the two accounts were now on the same bill, it was still literally showing as two TV accounts on one bill; 2 charges for themes and movie packs, 2 charges for extra packs and time shifting, 2 charges for digital standard, and 2 charges for digital service fees. Everything was being billed twice except for the receivers which were spread over the two accounts, so the bill was $133.05, too much for the TV alone. Dave noted that the second of the two accounts was in line for closure, but that the transfer of the standard receiver was not correctly input into the system.
In addition, all kinds of closing penalties were pending and though the $103.22 credit owed to us was noted on the account, it had not actually been submitted. It was just a note that people could read as they opened the account. So, Dave tried to sort this all out by putting in change requests and submitting the credit, and he also very thoughtfully wrote a large warning notice onto the account for other Bell representatives to see flagging the account so that anyone (his idea was to ensure that collections would not hassle us) who entered my account needed to read the special notes on the account. In these notes, Dave wrote very clearly that any outstanding fees associated with any of the closing/disconnection penalties or the $103.22 were to be ignored by Bell staff as these were Bell errors and were not in fact amounts owing on our part. He also attempted to put a late fee block into the system.
Finally, Dave also noted that our Internet service was nowhere to be found on our account bills. In the chaos of bills, account numbers (at this point, we were receiving 7 bills from Bell each month with 7 account numbers and a variety of other notices, collections letters, copies of contracts etc), and errors to date, I must admit that I had failed to notice that the ibill seemed to be missing. We were getting internet service at home though, so Dave did some investigating and discovered that our Internet bill had yet another account number and was being mailed to a street address that I have never even heard of, though it had my name on it. It turns out we were behind three months in pay on this service (totalling $97.50) and because the account was in such arrears, it was scheduled for disconnection due to non-payment.
Due to Dave's recognition that this was yet another error on Bell's part that was another hassle to us, he promised us a $30 one-time credit which he put into the system immediately. After 2 hours and 40 minutes on the phone with Dave, he left me to go speak with an internet colleague to figure out how to resolve this issue, but promised that I would receive a call shortly from someone in the Internet division to sort out the internet mess. Now, let me be clear that I work mostly from home given my occupation, and having internet access is critical for me. In fact, it was problems with internet access that caused us to leave the service provider we were with prior to coming back to Bell in November.
Less than ten minutes later, I received a call from Cheri who determined the best and easiest way to resolve the issue was for me to pay the $66 owing on the outstanding bill (which I had never seen, had no copy of, had never received etc.) immediately by using my credit card over the phone (which I refuse to ever do and was not budging on here either) and then she would set up a new account for us under the correct address and phone number and all would be fine. Cheri was not happy that I refused to pay the outstanding bill until a copy of the bill was sent to me to actually review. It seemed to be a real hassle to change the address on the bill to my correct address and send me a copy of the bill, and I have no idea what the system issue was here but there was something making this process problematic. However, Cheri agreed to forward copy of the bill to me at the correct address.
Next, Cheri created a new internet account under my correct address and phone number and added the account to our one bill, thus, ensuring we would, from this point forward get a $5/month bundle discount on the Internet service (which we would not get for the previous 3 months of internet service we never received a bill for) as originally promised in our quote/contract. After expressing concerns about this termination and new activation of accounts, I received assurances from Cheri that we would experience no service interruptions in our internet access due to this change, and that if we were charged an activation fee on the new account that we should phone in and the charge would be waived (apparently this is an automatic charge that will appear and there is no way to stop it).
The next day, Sunday, February 28th, we had no internet service. I again phoned Bell, this time the Internet division, to report the problem. I spoke with Guru who informed me that the account had been cancelled the day before and that the new account was scheduled to be set up on March 3rd. Also problematic was the fact that the business office was closed as it was Sunday and there was therefore none to re-activate the old account either. I was furious and explained my situation to Guru, and as he read the notes on the account, he quickly transferred me to his supervisor Tamil (whose ID number I never did get).
Tamil acted swiftly and was wonderful he configured and activated the account as soon as the problem was explained to him. However, upon completion of his efforts, he identified there was a problem along the way with the line and he contacted someone about the line activation. It was then discovered that there was a cable issue at the central office somewhere and I was asked to wait 4-5 hours for the equipment changes to take place but was assured that my account issue has been escalated and we would have internet access again within a short while. Sure enough, less than two hours later, our internet was up and running.
In mid-March, we finally received a copy of the Internet bill that had been sent to some random address for the first three months of our winback to Bell service. In addition to the $30 credit promised to us by Dave however, was a $1.57 charge for a late payment fee. At this point, fighting $1.57 was not worth my time so I just paid the darn bill. Yep, Bell made an extra $1.57 out of me on this one due to my frustration with them I guess this is why it's not worth their while to worry about frustrated customers whom they make money off in one way or another.
On May 5th, finally, a seemingly correct "one bill" (had seemingly correct TV charges, internet and home phone on it, still no sign of mobile phone getting on the one bill and so still losing out on discounts) arrived but it had $300 worth of disconnection fees on it and only credited us for $200. We also received another bill for the internet service that had been disconnected saying we owed yet another $1.31 late payment fee. I phoned Bell yet again and this time spoke with Amine at the Multi Product Solution Centre and was told the systems don't allow all the credits at once so there would be another $103.45 credit on the next bill. Amine did, however, remove the $1.31 late payment fee from the old internet account and stated that the account was officially now closed.
And the saga continued. On May 21, Bells Collections department called me, looking for the $103.45 we "owed" that was supposed to be credited to our account's "next bill" according to Amine on the 5th. I demanded to speak with a manager and this time, spoke with Jason Mahon. After hearing my story and taking the time to sort through the cast array of notes on my account taken by all the people Ive spoken with long the way, Jason apologized profusely and said he would go back through everything carefully and contact everyone who needed more "coaching" and ensure they got it, and then he credited the account with $103.45 instantly as the credit was supposed to be there (there was a note saying so), but again, it was not put onto the bill. Jason assured me it would once again appear on our next bill but that it absolutely positively was in system now.
Then, on May 25th, our home phone line stopped ringing in the house. We could use the phone to dial out, but any incoming calls were simply not even causing the phone to ring. So, I phoned Bell again, this time the repair line. In addition to the home phone not ringing, I realized that we still had not had that temporary line outside over the roof buried: it had been up there through our line-of-sight since November and it was now May 25th, so I figured Id ask about that too since I was calling the repair group anyway. I began speaking with David (whose ID number I did not get) who said hed do a remote check, then send someone out to do an outside check and an inside check if required. David said the technician would be out the following day in the morning (May 26th between 8:00 am and noon) and that if the problem was found to be inside the house, we would incur an $87.70 charge for the repair. He then tried to sell me line protection, which I declined. I then inquired about the burial of the temporary line and was hung up upon (I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that was an accident).
I phoned back and this time spoke with Sandra who quickly transferred me to Kelly (again, I did not get her ID number) in repairs. I was informed that the dig request was put into the system by David but that it appeared the technician who installed the temporary wire in November never did put the request in for it to be buried despite his promise to us that it would be done. And due to Bells procedures, we would now have to wait until June 26 to get the dang line buried. At this point, I asked if there was any way that we could be given priority and get the line buried faster due to the hassle after hassle weve experienced. I was put on hold as Kelly looked into this, and when she returned, she transferred me to Justin in the Buried Wire Department. Justin made certain that the repair person coming to the house the following day would be skilled in burying line and would be able to assess the situation and then be able to place an order to get the burial into a rush status, but explained that June 26th was the next date available in the system.
Frustrated, I called Mike ** at the Executive Office of Customer Relations to try desperately to get someone to a.) check that the bill would actually be correct this time, b.) ensure we are getting all our bundle discounts, and c.) beg for help in getting this ugly temp line buried a.s.a.p. given that it is not our fault that the initial technician never placed the initial dig/bury order. Mike kindly told us there was nothing he could do as there are systems that have to be followed. So, what could I do next? Go a step higher still.
In the afternoon of May 25th, I sent Mr. Kevin C., President of Residential Services, an e-mail after I tried everything in my power to phone him directly to speak with him personally (his number is simply unavailable to anyone trying to get a hold of him). In my e-mail to Mr. C., I quickly re-counted my series of hassles, annoyances, and frustrations and asked him to step in to assist me to finally get things right. On May 26th, though I did not hear from Mr. C., Mike phoned me and was actually kind on the phone and seemed interested in trying to help. He actually promised us a dig date to bury the phone line by June 17th. He also asked if I would like someone from the Satellite TV group in the Executive Office of Customer Relations to call us regarding our chaos with the satellite TV, to which I replied "Yes, please."
Additionally, on the morning of the 26th, our home phone actually rang and, sure enough, when the technician came, he checked all the lines and everything seemed fine, Murphy's Law. So of course, I was not surprised when the issue arose again that afternoon as of May 26th. Sometime in the afternoon, again, our phone wouldn't ring so we had no idea anyone was trying to call us. Again, I phoned Bell to report the issue, and again they said they would send a technician out the following morning (May 27th). On May 27th, I received a phone call on my cell (alternate number I provided) from a very nice gentleman who said that he thought the problem was some switch burn-out in some central building somewhere that routes the calls and is responsible for the signals/rings etc. He said he was getting a technician to test it and would call me back with an update. Shortly later, he called on the home phone line and it rang! Sure enough, they had to replace the "switch" or whatever it was and all appeared to be working fine from then on.
However, on Saturday, May 29th, we had a satellite TV service issue. We had a house party and the "boys" were all over to watch the pay-per-view UFC fight. This was the first PPV event that we ever tried to access via Bell satellite TV, though we have a lot of experience previously ordering PPV with Rogers. My husband went to order the fight using the TV, only to discover that apparently we need to be hooked up somehow differently to order shows via the TV set, so he phoned Bell and used the automatic ordering system to order the fight. All appeared easy. However, when the fight was supposed to start, no show appeared on our TV. My husband called again, tried to order it again, and still nothing. Then, he phoned for technical help and was put on hold for 40 minutes+, and then after waiting well into the start of the fights, he got the dreaded disconnection beep. He was furious, and the guys here all moved to the house next door where they ordered the fight on Rogers PPV and were able to see it from 10:45 onwards. So much for our house party.
So, on June 3rd, I phoned and spoke with Daphne about this lack of PPV, and she saw no sign of us being billed for the PPV we never got. However, she made a note on the file and asked me to keep an eye on the bill for the next few months and, if we are charged for the fight, I was to call back to get the credit. I can only imagine how long it might take to get this credit actually credited to our account if it's required. And then another home phone service issue began in the afternoon of June 3rd. All of a sudden, our home phone line was so full of static that I couldn't even hear a dial tone, let alone the person speaking who was trying to contact me. I spent 30 minutes on my cell phone (so yep, Bell made more money off of me for that call), calling Bell to report the problem, and another technician was being sent out the next morning between 8 am and noon.
Frustrated again by the issues over the past week, on June 3rd, I again sent Mr. C. an e-mail update, thanking him for his previous assistance and asking for his assistance once again in ensuring we did not get billed for the PPV fight we never got and requesting that Bell credit me for at least 3 days worth of home phone credits and a credit for the amount of the cell phone call to report the problem as well. I also inquired again about the bundle discounts as we were not getting them all, though I was hesitant to have the cell phones added to the one bill given that the one bill itself was still not correct.
On June 4th, a very nice technician arrived and discovered a problem with the equipment in the outside phone box. He inserted a new bit of some sort, and all has been fine with our home phone line ever since. On June 7th, interestingly, I received an e-mail from Francois ** (Customer Relations Associate, Customer Relations Center, Bell Executive Office) who was responding to my concern about the satellite TV installation technician forging my signature on the contract upon his departure (as stated in my first e-mail to Mr. C. on May 25th, though Francois refers to that e-mail as the June 3rd e-mail). Apparently, it is okay at Bell for second contracts that should never exist in the first place to have customers signatures forged on them. Also, it is very interesting that if the contract was void as Francois argues, then how is it that I was being billed for both the contracts separately under different account numbers for so long?
To annoy me further, Francois' e-mail clearly states that he was trying to reach me on my cell phone to no avail. Why on earth should I answer a long distance call from Bell regarding my concerns on my cell phone that I will now be charged for? They really want to make more money off of me? I pay for a home phone line why on earth did Francois think it was okay for him to call me on my cell? I replied to Francois with these questions and more, including again inquiring about my bundle discounts that were still missing as the cell phones had still not been included on the one bill and have never heard from him again.
On June 10th, I received a phone call from Ms. Ruth **,, another representative at the Executive Office of Customer Relations, who phoned me and left a message on my answering machine stating that she was calling to assist me with the billing issues I was having and left a number for me to reach her at. I returned her call that afternoon, and Ruth agreed to put my cell phones onto the one bill and to investigate whether or not we could be reimbursed for eight months of bundle discounts as a result. She said she would call me back on June the 21st.
Good news - Finally, on June 16th, the contract workers arrived and buried our temporary telephone line. The view from our windows is now clear and unobstructed, and they did a decent job of minimizing the damage to the lawn and gardens as they buried the line.
On June 21st, Ruth. did phone me back as she had stated. However, she phoned me on my cell phone. I requested that she please phone me on my home phone so I would not have to pay for our chat, and she agreed and called me quickly on that line. Ruth had investigated and had determined that yes, we would receive $40 (8 months at $5/month) of bundle discounts on our next bill. I thanked her sincerely for this. Then, she asked if she could have my permission to now close the complaint, to which I responded no. I explained that until we had a correct bill in its entirety, I did not want the complaint closed. She asked me to contact her if there were any issues that arose after this point in time. I was very appreciative of this call and her apparent willingness to assist, I must say!
On June 25th, we received our next one bill. The two cell phones are not yet on it, but there is now a line that says charges for this service will appear on your next invoice. There is also no sign yet of the $40 credit from Ruth, so I suppose, we will have to wait until the July bill arrives in August to see if this is now corrected or not. We do have a credit now for $91.55, however, for what seems to be the TV credit, Jason resolved for us in May, though I was expecting to see $103.45.
Now that the bill is mostly correct, I finally had a chance to compare the bill to the quote we received in November when we agreed to reinstate our services with Bell. You can imagine how not surprised I was to discover that what we are being charged is nothing like what the quote said we would be. As noted in the second paragraph of this saga, our quote says we will be billed $147.20/month before tax for months 1-12 (the line on the quote actually says total for all 3 tax included months 1-12= $169.27. $147.20 * the 15% tax rate here in Ontario = $169.27). However, our actual bill for these three services is $199.73 before tax, thus Bell is charging us $52.53 over the price we were quoted which influenced our decision to return to Bell services. Given that we have now been back with Bell for eight months, here Bell appears to owe us $420.24. I also began wondering if we should not be receiving two bundle discounts as we have two cell phones.
I phoned Ruth on July 6th to inquire about these issues and had to leave a message. As a result, I also sent an e-mail to Mr. C. and the three Executive Office of Customer Relations people with whom I have had previous dealings outlining my frustrations. On July 9th, I was finally able to speak with Ruth. She first informed me that bundle discounts only apply once per service and though we have two cell phones, that only counts as one service thus we were not owed any more bundle discounts for the cell phones. Okay, I can go with that. Second, Ruth. informed me that the $91.55 credit is the $103.45 credit we are owed, it is simply the before tax rate. Okay. I can accept that too.
However, when it came to the disparity between the quote we have and the amount we are being billed, Ruth flat out told me the quote was wrong and that Bell could not offer the services at the prices I was quoted. When I asked about how it is possible that a written quote can be wrong unless someone lied or fraud is being committed, she replied that Bell simply cannot offer us the services at the quoted price and she would be happy to terminate all our contracts and services with Bell if we wanted to switch service providers and would ensure there were no costs or penalties applied to us or our account if we chose to do so. That was all she would and could do. I said thank you and we hung up.
So, I next wrote an e-mail to the CEO, Mr. George C., as I am fortunate to have a bit of an insider avenue to (hopefully) be able to reach him through some of his other pursuits. I have no idea if I will get any response from him or not, but I figured it was worth a shot. Then, I phoned my lawyer. I am now writing up my saga and sending my story out there to as many as I can. I am sick and tired of the little guy being walked on, trampled over, and ignored by these huge corporations. I have heard others stories, and in support of all us little guys, I am taking on the fight.

I have been trying to connect with their Loyalty Department after speaking to one of their customer service representatives and cannot get past all voice activation, etc. Being a customer of Bell Canada for years and years, I was told that my charge for my current service can be less than what I am paying. Someone contact me to discuss.

After opening a new phone/Internet account (as mentioned above) with Bell, I never received a modem for my Internet connection. I have called four times. Twice, I was told (by two different operators) that I would be called or emailed by the end of the day with delivery info and never was. Finally, after weeks of waiting, I called to cancel the Internet and was told by the gentleman who took my call that he would do that and that I should just refuse delivery of the modem if and when it did arrive.
It finally did arrive one month from the time I opened this new account with you. I refused it as instructed. My statement came and I was charged for Internet use. I called again and begged the operator to take care of this - that I was at my wits' end and that I had wasted a lot of my time. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that I could not! Although it is nearly impossible for me to understand bill - it seems that you have never credited me properly nor adjusted my bill to reflect the lack of Internet and now, along with my most recent bill, I received a notice threatening my credit rating and late payment charges. It is ironic that a telecommunications company never once called to explain or apologize.
To add insult to injury, it looks like you have debited my Visa card for $200 - with no invoice, bill or Visa slip. I run a business and not providing an invoice detailing an expense is just simply not acceptable and seems to me like a very arrogant way to deal with a client. No mention is made anywhere of the fact that you are holding my money and perhaps you should be paying me interest. If you were a landlord holding a security deposit, you would be required by law to pay me interest.
Why Bell would treat a customer with such disdain after spending so much on promotion to woo me back into the fold with promises of making my business simpler and easier is beyond me. As an investor and a customer, I will never again choose Bell. Just as a benchmark for your marketing department, out of frustration, I finally called my local cable company and ordered Internet. The technician was at my business in two days with my modem in his hand to hook me up. I will make the appropriate payment on my account if and when you resolve this.
It is not surprising that this week's Hamilton Spectator's Action Line featured a customer who battled Bell Canada for a year before he or she got resolution regarding their $20 security deposit. Since my bill informed me not to include any correspondence (there is no address otherwise), I called again to try to resolve this and was hung up on when I insisted on talking to a supervisor.

I went in to upgrade my phone then to add a data package, and when appropriate based on not having prorated amounts etc, I would then leave my corporate account for a blackberry smart phone plan.
Then my husband was going to buy a blackberry and we were going to merge into a share plan. Regardless of what happened, someone at customer service closed my account without my permission causing me to lose my upgrade amount. They fixed that but my account was so old it no longer existed. They then put me on a temporary plan as nothing else could be done for so many days, I and Jen in the store were furious. Jen proceeded to tell me that I was to continue to come back in with my bills until all of the errors were corrected - she was waiving the $35 fee and would fix and prorated problems etc.
My husband then came in and bought a blackberry outright. we asked to be on a share plan, we selected everything we wanted and left the store under the assumption that we were on a share plan. Each month bills would come in and mine still reflected just myself, the bills were getting higher and higher as the credits and promised adjustments were not cleared. It is now March 10th I received an adjustment on Feb 27th, which was not for the full amount. To be honest I am not sure what portion it was for and why that got approved and nothing else. I asked how this could happen, here I am going over minutes wondering how with 400 to find out the change never occurred.
When speaking with Jen she stated that I should continue using my phone as I believe it to be and she would get everything straightened out. All the Bell store people are liars and the bell staff in the store are calling the customer service reps liars. I have exact quotes of things that were said to me from both parties. Customer service explained what the store should be doing for me and that they were filing a formal written complaint against the store, this is all after I explained all of the details. He too was concerned at what I was being told and said it is the store's responsibility to fix this and credit my account. I have spoken to so many people and have many reference numbers and many more details I could offer over the phone if I do not have to write them all. The store clerk Jen was very nice each time and I left feeling like things were being taken care of.
Since Dec., I have been taking my bills in, they photo copy them and send an email to Lori ***, the regional manager. Obviously there were no real responses, just the standard that it will take 5-7 days to process yet they never get processed. This is an electronic age, is anyone really reading these or trying to get this resolved? I am now involved with the manager Sarah *** who said she was not aware of how bad the situation has gotten. Her comment was this, he said she said game. I am furious, I have no reason to lie and would take any test known to man to prove this. I said as an adult it sounds like Jen made a mistake around the share plan, she told us what we were on and in fact said her system said we were so there must be a glitch as to why customer service isn't showing this.
I said to Sarah that as an adult if she got busy and forgot to complete a step, they own up to that mistake and not tell the customer lies then try to cover yourself. We are human, if she goofed up OK, just fix it. Jen gave me copies of emails she had sent to her regional manager, which I was disappointed in as they in no way detailed the reasons for everything to be fixed. So again each time I leave thinking she is fixing the problems and each time I get a new larger bill. In addition I explained many things to Sarah that Jen told me and my husband. Why not question Jen on all the things she said to us, and let her know we are repeating what was told us. Shame on her if she lives to cover her mistakes and problems like this, it is unfortunate oh how I wish our conversations were taped to prove everything. This is why I started to collect all dates and documents as I feel I am being lied to repeatedly!
On Feb 27th, she called my home line and asked me to check Bell records from the store and stated that Monday by 5pm the entire situation would be rectified. She said that she had spoken to Lori, in addition she explained that Chris my husband and I would be given the free fun 12 pack for our entire terms due to all of this inconvenience and to have Chris return to the store on March 2nd to have the share plan corrected to not cause any more prorated figures. The 2nd comes and goes and we can't fix this due to the overdue balance on my account. Each time a bill came I would go in and say OK what do I pay - I would pay the figure they gave me in fact written on one of my bills is Jen's handwriting as an example. So, this last large bill I go in again and Jen tells me don't pay anything, I will get it taken care of due to the inconvenience we will clear the whole bill.
She reiterated that to me on the 27th. Did she in fact speak to Lori on the 27th or was that a lie too? Is Lori even available on a Saturday? Each email said 5-7 days yet months have gone by, no reasons, no explanations, no follow up. I tell Sarah my entire story and I think Jen is lying to cover herself in some aspects and Sarah doesn't have to believe me as she wants to believe her employee. I said over and over this isn't about a free bill so I just made a 100 dollar payment to prove that in good faith. And now I am being told by customer service that my service could be terminated if I do not pay.
Customer service adjusted the dues date to the 19th. Of course I'll have another bill by then showing I'm over minutes as I never had 400 only 200 so here is another bill they won't fix for their mistake. Sarah said to me I don't know why Jen would tell you not to pay and we could fix it, all we send emails and NCS determines what is adjusted - at this point I said it is up to the store to fix all of these problems. Jen never once said the entire amounts would not be credited yet the info from Sarah is different. She was even shocked to hear that Jen was giving us free services, none of which is on my account. At this point with this utter sickening service I believe I should get to start over and I believe I do deserve some free services.
I have been a loyal customer for years and even in December when my husband said let's pay to just leave Bell and go to Telus, I was like, I know my service has been fair/good and now am I ever eating those words. I have had the most horrific experience in my life with this company and wonder if leaving is the right things to do. Departments all over the place, people that obviously do not read and respond to emails, depts that do not agree or connect with each other those that call each other liars, only method of communication is an email, no live voice to speak with and resolving customer service is not this company's priority. That is clear! In addition, no one really helps you, all you do is sit and wait and hear nothing.
Another disappointing piece is that Sarah stated to me that honestly when she spoke with Jen she couldn't believe a customer was so upset over 90 some dollars. Why not that's a lot of money, but in fact her figures were not accurate from Jen therefore until she spoke with me she was unaware of how serious and big the situation had gotten!
At this point I wonder do I need a lawyer to get someone to listen and fix this mess, who stands up for the customer when no one truly listens. Now I am being told 8-10 days. Seriously, why so long and store employees can't talk to a live person, is that a lie too? Why is it that a manager can just approve the 90 dollar figure and not the rest, why wasn't this fixed each time I brought a bill - I left assuming it would be taken care of until the next one arrived! Seems like they say they will speak to their bosses then they have an excuse each time as to why they didn't. I tell you why, we are not priority! Maybe at the next level they really do not realize how out of control this has gotten as I sit forgotten each month!
Employees that lie to their customers and can't own mistakes. I am certain if you put her and I on a lie detector test she would lose! I swear on everything I hold dear that I am telling the truth and can offer way more detailed, numbers, dates, names, and paperwork with Jen's writing on it! Sarah told me that her HR boss is now involved to fix the situation. Bell is a multi what billion company and they can't fix this. So I have waited months for this and nothing, I am getting threatened to lose my service all due to something that can likely be fixed by the push of a few buttons and a new bill on the way that again will be high. I have always paid my bills and now this can also affect my credit rating.
Customer service says to call the store everyday, the store says the email is out all we can do is wait and we don't know what they will say. But the store employee admitted it is a store mistake, why wouldn't they fix it all? I personally think that Bell Canada should be ashamed of this service and poor communication. I am also certain that this is a valuable newspaper article for the public to be aware of and I am seriously sending this entire detailed ordeal out for the public to read. Yes your big corporation likely does not care about this minor little nobody yet you should, we should all be considered as valued customers. You really need to review what is happening in departments and in stores and do some research as to promises that get made and never followed through on as everything I was told was said would happen.
At this point I have no faith in this company or staff and think you should be embarrassed at the quality of service that you are providing. Again should someone at a level that can get this all fixed do so great, it would be sincerely appreciated. And if someone can spare the time to get some clarity on these issues and listen to some of the things that have been said to me, I would be happy to clarify and provide details and speak with you anytime.

I recently received a cellular bill from Bell Canada and on it were roaming charges for about $70. I contacted Bell and they informed me that it was for excessive use of my cell phone while in the USA. I had paid and was invoiced for $40 for use of the phone while in the USA. The person informed me that I had exceeded the 100 minutes and was charged at the rate of $0.75 per minute in addition to the $40 charge. At the time, I was never offered any other extra time nor told that the rate would be so excessive. Furthermore, they charge me for mobile browser use and text messaging which I never used. I believe that Bell is unfair and deceitful and should have given me options for cell phone use when in the USA but instead I was told that was the only program they could offer me.

My Blackberry Pearl 8130 quit sending text messaging. All other aspects of the phone work. I called Bell to discuss this issue. After going through everything and putting a dummy phone line on my line, it was determined that they cannot help me. And they told me I had a hardware problem and asked if I did have warranty. I said, “No, I did not extend. This unit was not 2 years old. Wasn't it under a regular warranty?” They said no. So, I said, “Okay, here is what I want done. I want to remove the text feature of $15.00 a month because if I can’t send text, there’s no use of having it.” The person returned to the line and said, “The feature will come off your January billing.” I said, “Well they’re over 15 days. Until then I want you to prorate the remainder of the month.” After much argument and asking to talk to someone who could do this, he said okay, it’s approved. So semi-satisfied, I hung up.
I went to Blackberry forums and they suggested I update the OS system in my pearl from 4.3 to 4.5 and that would perhaps solve this issue. So okay, I did that. Then in my wisdom I called Bell and asked them to do the test dummy line thing to see if I could indeed send text now. Meanwhile, a rep was telling me about a new data plan and I said, “No, I will not change anything if my text won’t work. I will keep what I have.”
He was pressuring me into changing my plan stating this, that the other thing which of course would be so beneficial to me. I said if my text worked perhaps yes we can discuss it. Anyway, the upgrade of the OS system to my phone did not solve the problem. So, I thanked them for their time. I told him I do not want changes to my plan. He assured my plan was the same, that no changes had been made.
The following day Jan. 16, Saturday I received an email stating my plan had been changed according to our discussion. I called them back that Monday and I told them I did not want changes. I was told they would not change it back. My old plan was now obsolete and that was that. I said my letter stated the changes would be done the 21h and that this was the 18th and I did not want it and wanted my old plan back. They proceeded to talk over me and tell me how good this new plan was. I said going from unlimited to 500 data plan and paying more for it was not to my advantage especially when the text did not work. They said, “Oh well, you never use that much. Don't worry about it. You will never go over.” Frustrated, I hung up and called the executive office.
Now today, Feb. 2 I still haven’t got any call back. I called everyday for 2 weeks, sometimes 3 times a day leaving message after message. Anyway, a week later I called again and talked to a manager after being put on hold for 49 minutes. She told me, “Oh well, my new plan is better and that's a done deal.” She proceeded to tell me how it included call display. I said, “I don't need call display. Look in my billing. I have it discounted 100% until the end of this contract, Feb. 2011.
That was given to me when I signed up after a month of issues with trying to return a non-working Blackberry from day 1.” The next day, I got an email telling me that as to our discussion, they removed my call display, and no, the new plan doesn’t have call display. So, I am very frustrated. My bills are paid on time. We are line customers of them. I have been since 79. I never had issues with Bell landline. This caused me unauthorized data changes to 2 areas of my data plan at more cost.

I've been with Bell for 4 years, and growing up, we had Bell landlines. Up until today, I've had adequate dealings with them. I pay $90 a month for an HTC Touch Pro, so for that price, I expect excellent service. The average cost of cell phones in other nations puts us to shame. Bell & other large phone providers bully customers and keep costs high on things, such as text messaging or MB bandwidth. They're charging outrageous prices for flying data. Point is, I expect top-notch service, since I`m paying a monthly amount that rivals some of the most expensive plans in the world.
With that said, I've been having issues with my 4-month-old Touch Pro. It frequently misses calls. Callers will be automatically directed to the voice mail with no evidence of a call taking place in my call history. As I use my phone for my business, this is unacceptable. The next issue with the phone is that it draws more power per second than the charger can provide. Sounds crazy? It's not. If you are having a long conversation and your phone is plugged in, it will inevitably shut down due to battery power. You are forced to wait 5 to 10 minutes to allow charging while the friend you were talking to is getting your voice mail. In a world of overpriced plans and smartphones, I expect more.
Given these problems, I decided to phone Bell Mobility. I called them at 2:49pm and was on hold for 2 hours and 20 minutes until I was disconnected. Annoyed and frustrated, I phoned back at 5:12pm. Amazingly, I got a CSR in seconds of waiting. How does that work? Over a two-hour wait and 5 minutes later, it became a 10-second wait? Something is seriously wrong with their dispatch department.
The CSR I got this time was monotone and didn't show much empathy for my 2-hour wait. I asked to speak to a manager right away, as I know this person couldn't help me. They agreed and transferred my call. The only problem was they transferred me to another CSR? Annoyed & very frustrated, I asked once again to speak to a manager. The new CSR agreed and put me on hold once again. At this point, the phone shut itself down. It wasn't able to operate on the power provided, even though it was plugged into the wall outlet. Unbelievable. At 5:34pm, I phoned back after allowing my phone to charge. I am told by the automated service that there would be a 45-minute wait to speak to a CSR. I waited 20 minutes and got someone finally. Thank God.
This guy was helpful. The only issue was he accidentally hung up on me with his elbow. Yeah really. He phoned on his personal cell phone after he had hung up and apologized. He told me since I was disconnected from the call center, I would need to phone in again and wait. Defeated, I said thank you and hung up. At least the guy phoned to tell me what happened.
At 5:58pm, I called Bell Mobility once again. I waited on hold for 45 minutes. Finally, I got a CSR. Admittedly, I was frustrated and let her know my true feelings for Bell all the while telling her it wasn't personal and that she was doing a fine job. She told me that although I spent $150 on an extended warranty 4 months ago, I can only trade in my phone for another Touch Pro. They were too busy to allow me to speak with a manager, but one will be phoning in the next 24 hours. I will be asking for another model of phone, as the issues I have cannot be fixed with a replacement. Let this be a warning to all cell phone customers. Stay clear of Bell Mobility. They are another heartless corporation.

I have been with Bell for a year and a half. Since the beginning of the contract, the voicemail service never worked correctly. At the beginning, people would phone me and the phone would not ring. It would go directly to voicemail. The people would leave messages and when I tried to retrieve them, the phone would say I have no messages. I reset the voicemail account. I deactivated the account - it would not deactivate. After a year, they told me the problem was the phone. I changed the phone, higher bill, but still no service. Now when I am truly fed up, I have to pay $400 to get out of my contract. I signed a contract with them saying I will pay the bill and they offered a service. It's funny that I kept my end of the deal, but they never kept theirs.

I called Bell Mobility to have a Bell phone activated on Thursday, July02/09. All went well and I signed up for a pay as you go with my Visa. I wanted a cell phone for emergency road side (if necessary). I was leaving for Algonquin Park and was driving alone. They said my phone would be up and running by the following morning (Friday). The Bell cell phone was not working Friday morning. I called Bell Mobility again and was transferred to nine different representatives. No one seems to know what the problem was. After being on hold for 70 minutes, I was told my credit card was no good and they would transfer me to billing. At that point, we were disconnected.
I was so mad I drove over to the Bell store located in the Orillia Square Mall and talked to a customer service woman there. She called Bell mobility and she was transferred five times and we were on hold for another hour. I was told by the same person who activated my phone Thursday that he would call me at home as soon as he spoke to his supervisor. By 7:00 pm, there’s still no call. So I called Bell Mobility again. This time I was transferred to a technician who tells me that there is a problem between the tower and my phone; he gave me a trouble ticket and assured me they were working on the problem and it should be fixed in no time. His name was Joe (emp # **).
Sunday, the phone is still not working, so I called Bell Mobility. Again, it’s the same story: they are working on the problem. I cancelled my trip to Algonquin Park as I needed a cell phone to be safe. Monday afternoon, I called Bell Mobility again, this time speaking with another technician. He looks into my file and has me program a code into my cell phone. The new cell phone number was not programmed into the cell phone. And they wonder why people are switching to Rogers. Tomorrow, my Internet and home phone are being switched over to Rogers.

I have had a cell phone for approximately 11 years, started with an analog phone and upgraded twice, I am on now my 3rd phone. When I first obtained my cell phone, I was with Aliant and no issues at all, until approximately 1 year ago, when Bell took over. The first thing they did was double bill everyone so we were paying in advance.
My 3-year contract expired in March, but I have maintained the same service I had from the beginning, paying the same rate as always, as I was told from Alaint that it was not a requirement to be in a contract unless I wanted to upgrade my phone. Which at this time, I did not want to establish another contract. At that time, I began to receive 3-4 calls a day from Bell Customer Service trying to pressure me into another phone, on both my cell and land line, even thought I requested them not to call me. Then the letter came stating that I had been receiving call display for free in error and they were going to increase my bill by 7 dollars a month.
I called Bell on this, as I have my original contract which clearly indicated call display for free. They were extremely rude, with one agent answering with "yeah, what do you want?" I confirmed this was Bell and she said yes. I asked for her name and was told she would not provide it and was extremely rude during the conversation, to the point she hung up on me.
I called back and spoke with another agent and requested a manager and advised that they refused to take the call. I explained I still had my contract and it clearly states I have call display for free. She advised that due to my contract was over they could do what they wanted. I even faxed the copy to them and requested a manager to call me back and I never heard from them. I am completely dissatisfied with Bell and their customer service.
The additional cost is a difficult increase during this time. I am currently looking at different services as I no longer want to do business with Bell.

I purchased an LG Reveal cell phone on March 20, 2009 for the price of $400. I also bought the extended warranty. On March 30, 2009, I returned the phone as the screen would not come up and when it did, it had red dots on the screen and when I went to text message someone, the lines were all slanted. Bell World gave me a new phone. On April 5, 2009, I had to return the second new phone as it had the same problems as the first one. Bell World gave me a hard time saying they would not replace it as the 30 days were up - they were not - I told them I want a different phone as I was not going to keep returning phones that were no good. They said there was nothing they could do. I told them that I wasn't leaving until I had some answers or a new phone.
The girl told my daughter and me to get the ** out of the store and take my phone with me. I put my phone on her counter and told her, "I am not going until I get some answers." The girl picked up my phone and slammed it on the counter and said, "Leave ... " and she also proceeded to tell me that she had a BlackBerry that she couldn't return. So, we sure as hell weren't going to return mine. I left the phone there and called them when I got home. I asked her to call me when my phone was ready. She proceeded to tell me that I was banned from the store and my phone was no longer under warranty because I threw the phone.
I asked her if they had video cameras in the store and she said, "Yes," and I said, "I want to see the video of where I threw the phone." She said that I have to call the head office which I did, and, as of today, there is no call back from anyone. So now, I don't have a phone and I'm out $400 and I have no answers. Can someone please help as I'm very upset and I don't know what to do next. Thank you.

Telephone offer from Bell for promotion of wireless modem and computer/laptop. wireless modem was complimentary if accompanied with purchase of a desk computer or laptop. the offer was a laptop to be offerred at a $12.00 increase to be added to my prevailing account for my internet services. The $12.00 increase would be for a period of 36 months. This would mean a total cost to me of $12.00 x 36 months - $432.00. I accepted the promotion and anticipated a $12.00 increase to my monthly internet services. Prior to delivery of the laptop I recieved a call from Bell advising me that the stock for this promotional laptop had depleted and that a replacement laptop would be delivered with a slight delay in shipping. The promotional cost of the replacement laptop would be the same as previously quoted to me.
The bell representative apoligized for the delay in shipping. I took this information as face value and waited for delivery of the laptop which arrived couple of weeks later. Now came the change to the offer! When I recieved my next monthly bill from Bell it quoted the cost for the laptop of an increase of $30.00 per month for 36 months. In effect, bell was now charging me for the replacement laptop which bell had not told me would cost more, and to which I would not have agreed to or have accepted. $30.00 x 36 months is $1,080.00, much more than the quoted cost of $432.00 total!! I contacted Bell Canada and told them this was not the promotional offer I had accepted and that I would not pay the cost of $1,080.00. It was not the deal I had accepted. Bell feels that the cost of the replacement laptop should be charged to me regardless of the promotional offer and cost originally given to me.
This is unfair business practices. Bell made me an offer, not my problem they ran out of laptops and offerred a replacement which for them happened to cost more. Again, this replacement cost was not quoted to me or any change to the original offer made to me. Now bell is pressuring me to pay the added cost, or change the services I have had for years with bell. Bell wants to eliminate some services to me which would decrease my monthly charges albeit I lose these services in order to maintain the charge of the replacement laptop of $1,080.00. Regardless that bell made the mistake it insists I pay for it! with decreased services. Frankly, replacing an item with another item that cost more without advising me is misleading or possible fraudulent business practices.
I feel that Bell Canada made a promotional offer to me that would cost me an increase of $12.00 a month, and then, without advising me substituting another laptop which cost much more than I had originally agreed to. The difference is from $12.00 monthly, or a total of $432.00 to an extra charge of $30.00 monthly, or a total of $1,080.00. Big difference

I purchased a VOX phone card, then used it until it expired, when I opened a vox account. I put the card on automatic recharge and was given to understand that the card would be valid for three months (VOX International), The card was re-charged and used about 1 month later, when I was advised that the card had expired but that it could be extended 24 hours (by which time I had missed an important conference call).
My point is that the Auto-recharge feature is a not so obvious scam which skinned me out of about $18.50, a small amount, though when multiplied by the thousands of bilked customers who would otherwise not take the trouble to complain (VOX hides their information very well making it impossible to submit claims or reports to the Better Business Bureau of Canada).
As a result of this denial of service, and in order to participate in the calls on time, I incurred long distance charges in excess of $100, as well as forfeiture of the balance of my card.
