Hi I have a disability. Bell has overcharge me on all my phone bills. I paid 300, 400, 500, 600, 900, 800 bill. They have overcharge me and destroy my life and cause a lot of stress and anxiety on me but I paid off the bill on time. But I've look at over 4 million complaints about bell but here's my issue: I had a Sony z2 that last two month. I call them up and said my phone had something wrong with it that it was not charging that when it charge the charger light would turn off and on and even had it charge all night and it did not charge properly, it only charge to 40 percent.
I talk to the client represented he said the phone talk 30 min on it. He said nothing I can do about instead he call me stupid and some names that were really hurtful like "are you ** and mental" and I said "OK I want a new phone" that's why he called me all those names. He said "sorry I can't give you a new phone." Instead I said "OK I'm taking my business elsewhere," so I cancel contract and said you guy rip off artist. I ask to unlock the phone for 50 dollar and a hurtful 612 dollars so I could go to Rogers which are way better and fair than bell.
And so I took phone over, roger put on their network and was going mouth to mouth until my phone complexly died in 2 days and would not charge anymore. Roger gladly help me out instead of going mouth to mouth they put me on a contract and gave me a Galaxy s 4 for 0 dollars. Said going back to the bell complaint. I'm on a limit income and I'm on aisha and was having tough time getting a job for 7 years so I tried to set payment methods but you just could do it so I called them up and said "I don't think I should have to pay 612 on a phone that last 2 months" and they said something like "OK it will go against your credit limit" and I don't have a credit limit.
How I paid them is with prepaid bmo mastercard because I did not believe credit cards. This is not fair at all. They are harassing me and yeah I do have disabilities and I refusing to pay this cancellation fee bill and I have every right to the other thing is that there customer service is really bad. I got hung up on 37 times and call name by represent of the company. Little did they know I had a disabilities so I ask every one that has complained about bell that rally together. Be men, stand up for what's right and sue and take bell to court and put their company under water and put bell away for good. Come on people there're so many complaints about bell. Do the right thing. If we all rally together bell Will have to give everyone they rip off their money back.

The loyalty agent tried his best but it is BELL that is pathetic! They CHANGED THEIR CANCELLATION policy and have NOT let any of their customers know. How can they just change their terms of agreement and long term customers have no say in it. You have to cancel within your billing term or you will be charged for the full month even though you are no longer there. My billing cycle was from the 14th-15th and I wanted to cancel my service as of the 20th but then advised that I would be charged for the full month! Yes that was a surprise and Bell arbitrarily changed the terms of agreement to better suit them. WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE and not even having to tell their customers. I will never subscribe to Bell again. Way to go Bell, lose more customers!!!

So I've been with Bell since 2003 & you'd think there might be some loyalty to long term customers. Nope. I've had more trouble than I can list. They have the worst customer service, the worst connection and yet they advertise as the best... total crap. I called about how often I have no service and the guy told me it was the topography of Surrey. Wtf? I look at a cell tower from my living room. It doesn't matter where I go that the service sucks. I called to see why friends have really great plans that have more features than I do and pay less than I do. They talk around in circles, make up a bunch of crap and have no solution except to charge me more $ for more features. Cannot stand Bell!!!!!!

My experience with Bell has been nothing but terrible in the past two years. Unfortunately, I signed up for a 2 year contract that I have tried to break several times just because of how awful and shady their services are, but I don't want to pay the $250+ cancellation fee… Like if your service is terrible and I have caught you multiple times not being able to explain where all these "extra charges" keep popping up from on my phone bill, I should be able to cancel for free. But they're money hungry and worthless when it comes to customer support, so obviously they want to shake you down for all that you've got when you finally try and get the hell away from their terrible services.
When I went to Europe with my Bell mobile phone, I TURNED OFF ALL ROAMING DATA AND LTE, and only used it ON WIFI, everything else DISABLED, and when I came back from 2 weeks Bell was trying to charge me $360 for roaming charges. RIDICULOUS. I called them and was on the phone with them for over an hour telling them how I was never once on data roaming abroad and when I went to Bell Mobility to check a detailed version of my $360 bill, it told me that it was "unavailable at this time". In other words, Bell was charging me $360 of data but had NO RECORDS to prove to me why they were charging me this insane amount. Do they see my date of birth and assume that because I'm a student I'm like stupid and just pay the number on the screen? Nah, I'm educated, and I know a shady deal when I see one, and Bell is shady as hell. Ha, rhymes.
Anyways, I explained this all to the 'customer support' guy on the phone, and he finally agreed to take $80 off my bill when I confronted him with the fact that they can't even provide evidence of my $360 worth of usage. Ever since then, my bills go way over what I'm supposed to be charged monthly ($55). I am NEVER on 3G because I know Bell just eats up my data to charge me more; proof? I turned on my 3G for the FIRST TIME this month when I was in the city to quickly google map directions and I got a nice little text message from Bell saying "you have used gone over your monthly data of 300MB. You will be charged $15 immediately." I cannot wait to hear an explanation for this one when I call them and ask how the hell I go over my data usage of 300MB a month when I simply turn 3G on… It's bs, I'm sorry, but it is.
Bell monopolizes the market and can afford to have horrible services and sky high bills for its customers because often there are not many other alternatives. My friend is on a similar plan with Rogers and is on her 3G/LTE 24/7, calls and texts long distance all the time and is never charged more than the $60 she has ordered every month… If you're looking for a mobile plan (don't even think about Bell internet, I implore you), don't go with Bell. Do yourself a favour and BOYCOTT BELL because their services quite frankly suck. They're terrible. Did I mention they're currently under fire for selling customer data? Oops.

I presently have the Bell telephone services. One month so far. I have a minimum local telephone line. Operate a small business to do with a product which is advertised on the web and with distributors selling. I sell my products to the distributors at my cost. I do NOT make a profit on what I sell to the public. It's too important a product. I have Internet, Bell phone and minimum television. I contracted with the Bell on April 6th. All services were working by my existing suppliers.
Immediately after contracting with the Bell I lost my internet (I have 19 websites running). For the next 3 weeks I was without internet 98% of the time. So I was concerned on how I would run my business and personal life. I received dates for installation of my 3 services from Bell. The date was 2 and a half weeks later. So I did not have any phone connections because of loss of internet. I could not do business via emails because of no internet. I really did not care about the TV. But phones and internet are important to keep a business going. I had a Zoomers cell phone, cost 18.00 monthly. That was my only way to communicate. I had lost the use of my HOME telephone which had been with Bell for most of my life. ONE number that was on all my websites for people to call me. But I could not use it because I did not have a connection from Bell for 3 weeks.
I did have 2 Magic Jack phone lines that are better quality than any other VoIP service that I previously was with. But I could not use either because no internet. One is a Florida number where I have a lot of accounts. The other is a local number and I normally can use both these lines to call anywhere in North America without extra charges. But tough, these were dead. I immediately called Zoomers and contracted to install their HOME service with Canada Wide calling for $20.00 per month. No internet required. Good. Got that up and running.
During all this time I got onto the internet for 10 minutes to a half hour because out of the 4 different service men that came into my home 2 of them were smarter than the other two who did the main installation. The first one came into my home and said "I will have the internet running for you shortly". He left my home and went across the street to some box he told me about and made the connection to the internet in 10 minutes of time. Good, I thought. I can get back to work. But within one hour after he left the internet went down. I did not get the name of the man other than his first name **. He would not give me his name or number when I asked. But during that time I was able to make changes on 19 websites with my Zoomers phone number appearing rather than my main number that everyone knows.
I called the Bell several times to get my internet going. They always said I could not have it connected until 2 weeks later. But I kept calling. Finally another Bell service man came in. He also was able to get my internet going and said it will now be on permanently??? I quickly got into my hundreds of emails and other important items to update, but then in the middle of my work the internet went off again. And when I called the Bell, I got the same story. I would not have my connections for another week and a half. Too bad. In the mean time, I am frantic on how I could keep my business going. It was not easy and it effected my health.
During all this time I had different computer people come into my home to discuss my problems with them and what my solution would be. They ALL said that the problem is in the modem. The modem that Bell is putting into the homes and business restrict other phone systems being used and may be deleting other installations of the internet.
Finally I had a fifth Bell man come into my home who was HONEST and told me that it was MY BELL MODEM causing me the problems in part. So he installed ANOTHER Bell modem which at least gave me internet and now my 2 Magic Jack phones also worked. So I made changes on my 19 websites showing all the phone numbers that customers could call me on. That Bell service mans name was **, obviously smart and honest. But I still had to wait for TV , telephone, etc. Finally the Bell people came in and completed the installation. However, that's not all.
When I got my first invoice from the Bell (4 parts some of which were such fine print I could not read them and were so complicated that I did not understand them. I called the Bell office and told them I wanted the cost of my local phone service for my home telephone number to be at the minimum cost with no extras since they wanted $20.00 extra just for the call waiting, etc, etc. so the rate would be reduced they said to $21.00 for just the local home service. IT WAS CHANGED IMMEDIATELY. Then for the first time in years my telephone rang at all hours a night waking me up. What else do I need.
Sorry, they can't fix that because I don't have call waiting, etc., etc. That would be $20.00 extra. Heaven help me at this point of time. Do I now cancel the Bell telephone and go back to one of the other companies who are no different in what they have. What do I do. That is the dilemma I am in now. I had never in all my years had phone calls coming in with no one on the other end of the line in all my life before. Why now. Is it the Bell doing that so that I would contract for the higher rate?? That is what I think it is but cannot prove it. Please GOD help me. The end.

We have had mobility internet since January 2015. It has never worked properly. I contacted bell almost on a weekly basis to report issue. We were told on many occasions it was a tower issue, a location issue, a hub issue, a sim card issue and they would be sending out someone to take care of it. During the entire time, I called, no one was ever sent, with only one call back. I called on April 13 to report we had been without internet now for several weeks and if there was no one to come and fix it, we would have to cancel the internet by April 18th. If we did not receive service, we would be getting our internet through another company.
Now, we are not getting any support in waiving the $250 fee we are being charged for cancelling a service that never worked! At this current time, we are pondering the cancellation of all of our services - satellite and home phone unless this is rectified.

Firstly, I have canceled my services with Bell. I have given Bell Canada 30 days notice as per the agreement which was January 2015 to cancel. It's now April 16 2015 - no refund, Bell's message on their phone states 30 days waiting for refund. I have just gotten off the phone requesting my refund. The ladies there were very nice, to continue they now state it will take 4 to 6 weeks. Do the math people - Jan to April 16th, to my count is 15 weeks still no refund. If I subtract 5 weeks in January as grace equals 10 weeks MMMM my question is where is the 4-6 weeks not mention the recording stated 30 days. Also, my question is, will Bell Canada give interest on my refund? If not WHY? If I were late on my payment they sure would charge me something.
This is unacceptable business practice to say the least to have to wait even 4-6 weeks. I was a Bell Canada customer for 5 years. I will make it a point to tell anyone asking about Bell to run fast and clear, unfortunately negative feed back travels fast and far. We will see just how it takes and I'm sure whomever reads this complain if anyone from Bell will reply. Please stay clear of doing business with Bell.

A couple of weeks ago I decided I should have a cell phone with me for emergencies and to contact family if necessary when travelling. I went online and looked at information on the Bell Mobility website. I found there was so much information and so many plans it was confusing. I decided it might be better to visit the local Bell Mobility shop and discuss my needs with a salesperson. I told them I was not interested in an expensive plan, that I had my own unlocked phone and that I would use it very little, only for phone calls and texts to my family when travelling on the road.
The clerk kept trying to sell monthly plans with all the bells and whistles. I emphasized limited use when on the road. Purchased the pay as you go $100/365 day plan. Lots of frustration getting the phone to work and bombarded by Bell customer surveys and information. Next day back to the store still trying to get the phone to work. They gave me Bell's 800 number and more frustration. First day of the trip could not phone or text my family. Found out plan won't work from the US. Now everyone with Bell tells me that!! Why didn't they explain that at the store or make it apparent on their site. I've asked Bell for a transfer of my unused credit to one of my other Bell accounts. They say that can't be done. What's with the Bell "One Account " advertising. I feel I was mislead and now all they want to do is sell me a plan that will cost me nearly $400 when I was lead to believe $100 would cover me for a year.

I would never recommend this company. I would recommend that everyone stop using them. I can't believe the customer service. No one does anything. Everyone transfers, puts you on hold, or drops your call. They are completely unwilling to provide service to their customers. It is ridiculous.

They wanted to charge us a fee for ending our monthly satellite TV service. They wanted to charge us a full month ahead which is about $150 because we did not give them enough notice. The next option was we pay them a smaller fee for "vacation" time which means that we will not be using the service for a few months. We said OK and when we move we would have the option at that time to cancel our subscription indefinitely.
We moved and within 60 days we decided to not use their service any more because we have the local TV provider which is already our telephone and cellular provider. They completely closed our account and we actually were owed over $50 in credit. I was expecting them to send a cheque in the mail, BUT, instead they sent a bill for the usual $150 per month. I called them and asked them to fix the problem and they agreed. Should be end of story but now they doubled down and said we did not cancel.
Good thing we have the dates and names of all the people we spoke with. The next month they said we owed $300, then next month (we called them each time) $450! Now I'm getting upset because they are doing the old "bait and switch" technique that they don't have a record of this ever happening (LOL). No one had the information on their screen. What a coincidence! After a while I got a call from a collection agency and I told them that Bell should be paying me for the time that I sat on their alleged "customer support line" (LOL) for literally hours trying to get this resolved! He said he would look into this and someone would get back to me. He was very nice about it.
Next month another notice in the mail saying that we would be cut off of satellite TV if we did not pay the amount owed. (LOL because we terminated them months before and they didn't even know their own story anymore). I called their support line and mentioned to them to call ME when the next agent was available, so I thought they would call ASAP, but as usual, nothing for several WEEKS. Finally I received a call and they said that the matter was COMPLETELY resolved. I asked him to send me something by email or regular mail to confirm our conversation and he said that it would be in the mail shortly. I received a bill from Bell Canada for $12.05, which means that the previous phone call was somewhat productive. Now I'll wait and see what's next.
I went to the mail the other day and I received a threatening piece of paper that warns me that they are going to take money out of my account. NCO financial services Inc. The amount is only $12.05. Along with the statement" NCO Financial Services Inc., is a member of the credit bureau". So... Here we go... again around and around! Where it stops no one knows!

In November of 2013 my son lost his phone, which was on my account. We were told by the staff at the Bell Store that we couldn't get a replacement phone, but would need to get a new phone and new contract. We did this and asked them to cancel the lost phone. I just discovered that I have been paying Bell for both the new and lost phone for over 1 year. Also just discovered that I have not been receiving invoices for the lost phone (or my phone) because they have an incorrect account name and email address recorded for this account. In all, I've been charged $64.50 + tax per month since Nov. 2013 for a phone I believed was cancelled.
When I complained to Bell, they accused me of failing to cancel the lost phone when I opened the new account. I doubt it!! More likely - THEY failed to cancel the phone and I had no way of discovering this fact because I did not receive any emailed invoice communications from them. Once (on May 27, 2014) I did receive a mailed communication that proves the account in question did not contain my correct name or email address.

I called into Bell to get a new line and device and port my 14 years old Rogers number over. I asked the telephone sales rep If there is any promotion on iPhone 6 16GB. I was "offered" $100 off the device and connection fee $15 waived. Given a temporary phone number, just to setup the account. Once the phone arrive via post I suppose to call to port the number and everything went well within a week.
Now the sweet first bill arrives with hell fire. None of the promised offers reflected on the bill. Had to call in to explain issue. Rep couldn't see any notes regarding my offer. Is this a sales con played on me? I am pretty SURE there are many pulled into this type of scam. I told the rep to give it to a manager/supervisor to help solve this mystery. Supervisor now gives me the sales department number and tells me to call them if I don't hear from them in 48 hrs. I figured no one going to help me out, I told her to pull up the recorded conversation of my offer. "Only sales dept can do that" was the answer.
Called sales dept. and managed to speak to the rep who initially gave me the deal. He is now promised three times that he is going to talk to his super and solve this. Almost 5 hrs in total has been wasted with these crooks with no solution. Still waiting to hear from them. Got the initial rep repeating my offer recorded on my side for proof. I will update how it goes. Like many mentioned here when will that day will return where you buy a service and pay your bill monthly without spending hours trying to fix/fight their mistakes. We will only get that day when more small companies like Wind comes into Canada.

We switched from Rogers to Bell Mobility in 2010. Signed up for the Small business shared plan 40$ Data, 40$ Voice share per phone (2), didn't have much of an issue until March 2012 when we moved from BC down to Nevada. Before we left the country we signed up for the out of country data, voice and text MSG, added an extra 100$ per phone. Got our first bill in April 1700$- turns out they took off the out of country features after 1 week, got the bill dropped down to 400$. May bill was the same thing but by now we had AT&T phones, also got the bill dropped down.
Then came the issue, they claimed that since we added out of country service we had renewed our contract to end in 2014. I spoke with several CSR's and had the extra US calling taken off, but was still paying 160$ a month for 2 phones we weren't using but also didn't want to give up our numbers, for when we travel home. 3 more months of calling once a week, had our internet dropped with no early cancellation fee, also had the voice dropped to 20$ a month per line. I reasoned with them along the line of we don't want to lose our service but we are also not using it as they could see on their computers. Over the years we have had Telus, Rogers, Bell, while bell is crap for service, they do provide a decent service. That said, I do like Verizon much better compared to anything we could get in Canada.

We booked an extended vacation to the US in October 2014. I called Bell and had our satellite TV put on a 'temporary service suspension'. This cost $49 for 6 months. In December '14, January '15, and February '15, Bell billed me $34.83/month for the 'NHL Centre Ice' package. I called to question these charges and was told this package had to be cancelled separately. Because we had it in the past, it automatically renewed and we were sent a letter with the terms if we didn't want it to automatically renew. My profile with Bell states we wish to receive online billing and notifications, so I don't know why they would mail us a letter. No representative at Bell (and I spoke with 4 various people) could give me the date this letter was mailed, but said sometime in October. My initial call to suspend our service was October 3rd, and this issue was never mentioned.
Bell refuses to refund my $104.49. Over this ridiculous charge, they've lost a 10 year customer. Why should the consumer pay for their antiquated system that can't put a suspension on all programming and email notifications? No representative at Bell would confirm that it was actually possible for us to watch the NHL package on our suspended TV service at this time. We have not been in Canada for 5 months, so the TV has never been turned on.

I have four cell phones with bell. My line is on a three year contract. When I took out my plan I was told that it came with voicemail and call display along with a 10% discount. I called and was informed that my call display, voicemail and 10% discount was a promotion and it expired. Bell is far too dishonest. I do not know why I can't just get my bill and pay it without having to call them about something every month.
Last month they charge me $15 for upgrade which I never did. I agree to pay $73 per month for my line not $105. I am not renewing my contract on February 28 of this month. This company will give anyone a heart attack or a mental breakdown. I know I am supposed to pay Bell over $300 monthly for my four cell phones and I just want the security of knowing what my monthly bill is and pay the same money each month unless we did something that was not a part of my plan. I later found out that he did not cancel properly and I still got a bill. After speaking to two more reps who made some adjustments, I still got a bill for a smaller amount. This new rep today says they will add termination fees and usage charges even though I did not use the service.
I called the customer relations office and the executive office. They were also unable to help me. Their own employees don't enter all the information into the system and the customer is blamed. I've seen this kind of complaint on other sites as well. I am fuming. When will CRTC reel in Bell Canada. They are out of control and clearly have the worst customer service out of any carrier. Because of where I live I have absolutely no choice other than Bell for a phone line which is required to get satellite or internet through other suppliers. Basic line without any options or packages was quoted as $29 + tax. My bill normally runs above the $50 mark. When I had my phone, internet and satellite through Bell my rates just kept increasing without my knowledge or consent and often times I would see channels be eliminated from the packaged bundles I was paying for. Often times I was paying ~$250/month for home services not including a cell phone.
The bundles/packages you are forced to buy for television viewing have so many duplicates it's sickening. Even with other suppliers you get the bundles which force you to pay for 95% of the content you don't want. Just the other night there had to be 15 channels with the same movie all at the same time. Prices are absurd, service and product are terrible and, as many others have stated, the customer service is non-existent. I steer away from Bell at every opportunity. They were once a great company. The sale guy told me that I could watch Bell TV unlimited... My bill was over $3000, over $3000 it makes me sick, I cried & can't sleep as I can't afford this...
This should be Illegal... I don't know what to do. I can't pay it.

We are currently in Florida for 3 months. We notified Bell starting approx Nov 14, 2014. (Not sure of exact date as we have had numerous calls to them.) We have a confirmation number and the name of the person we talked to originally agreeing that our satellite would be suspended for the 3 months and Thierry the rep suspended the amount to be paid, therefore as we all agreed the TV service was on hold with no charge until we are home. Fine!
Now to deal with the phone! It was agreed in plain English that the charge per month for January through to the end of March would be $36.05 each month. Seems pretty simple and straightforward to me! But Bell each month since Nov has been e-billing us amounts like $113.38. We agreed the last phone call to complain AGAIN that we should just pay the $36.05 and the rep Cathy said, “YES THAT IS CORRECT!”
Well we just got a brand spanking new bill once AGAIN for $113.38. This company is RUINING our vacation not to mention our bank accounts. When we are home we will talk to CTV and CBC and see if they can get through these thick skulls. We are so damn fed up. We unfortunately need to keep the phone accurate for our security system. Do we need to sue these idiots or what? If we had a choice of another company for damn sure we would jump on it, but we live in the country and that is our only resource. Please HELP!!!

Became a customer of bell fibe services about 10 months ago. I was an existing bell customer at the time I purchased Fibe TV and internet. After 3 missed appointments I finally had my new service installed. Was given some promos for my troubles which was great. I was really pleased with the product. Great tv and internet. So I started telling people about it since I was the first one on my street to get it. I told them how great the product was and suggested to everyone they should get it.
As a few months go by more and more of my neighbours started getting the fibe services and really liked it!.... Now I know why! They all received wireless receivers and the best of the best modem! When I seen the equipment they were receiving compared to the out of date "Start-up" equipment I received, I was pissed off! If I had of known when I signed up for the services that this equipment was to be made available in just a short time I would have gladly waited. Do you think Bell would tell me this?? No ** way! And when I phoned to ask why I didn't receive this they told me it was not available at the time I signed up, fair enough, so can I have it now??? NOPE you have to pay a $400 upgrade charge!!! Thanks Bell!

When I decided to switch to Fibe with Bell, their literature stated that external hard drives could be used as peripherals on the Home Hub 2000. I went so far as to change my computer to a MacBook Air (a small hard drive) and stored all my data on an external drive. Needless to say, the hard drive wouldn't work. I called Bell but discovered that they don't support external drives. I contacted Apple and the manufacturer of the external hard drive and with their help affirmed that both were operating properly.
After three days trying different methods I managed to get the hard drive functioning. A simple explanation that my drive has to be named the way the modem wants would have been very helpful from Bell but again, they don't support what they sell. Now that it is operating the way it is supposed to I have found that their blistering fast speeds are so slow that it takes over 5 minutes to open a document through the hub and attempting to open a music file freezes my wireless connection.
Thanks Bell. Now I have to sell my new computer and find a way to replace it. Just the way I wanted to spend my week off. Once my contract is over I am switching my home and cell services to anyone else. Have been a Bell customer for over 20 years and am absolutely disgusted with their inability to support their own products. Online forums are filled with people having the same issue.

Attempted to cancel. Fought feverishly with useless agents to cancel. Bell wants a cancellation fee of $150+. Refusing to pay. Still pursuing this matter. I feel completely scammed. Bell is breaking contracts and muscling customers. I don't understand how no governing body steps in.

The full details of my case appear below for anyone wishing to read them. Briefly in December 2013 I was offered and accepted a switch to Bell Fibe, with a TV, Unlimited Internet and Phone Bundle. The unlimited internet was not honored and I had several charges of $80 unlimited internet usage. I thought this was finally settled in May 2014 but we then received another $80 overuse charge. In October 2014 we had decided we had enough of the lengthy phone conversations with Bell and decided to quit and gave our 30 days’ notice. I was then contacted by retentions department with a deal that encouraged me to stay.
January 2015 we discovered that the retention deal had not been honored. Fortunately I had managed to get it in writing. To add insult to injury our monthly bill had actually increased because we were being charged for an upgraded TV package which the retention representative had offered us as a sweetener to stay. I spent over four hours on the phone on 16th Jan 2015 trying to resolve it. It was unpleasant and tedious.
From my experience I wish to offer the following suggestions. Contact the loyalty department directly on 1 877 874 2171. Be aware that the first person you deal with, in my opinion, is trained to fob you off. If you do not get satisfaction ask to speak to a supervisor or manager. You may be told this is not possible. Do not give up - persist. If you feel really strongly look into alternative providers. Contact the disconnect department and give them 30 days notice. You may then be called by retentions offering you a better deal to stay. Check that they actually implement this on your next bill.
Try to get as much in writing. This is not easy. Most people I have spoken with at Bell have told me it is not possible. With retentions I told them that my unlimited internet deal was not honored and if they did not put the deal they were offering me in writing it was bye bye Bell. I am fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how you look at it) that I have been able to spend several hours on the phone enduring the wear you down tactics. I imagine that is not so easy for people having busier lives than me.
My full case which incidentally I submitted to Bell customer complaints. Back in October or November of 2013 I noticed significant increases on our monthly bill. I called Bell and a very helpful representative informed me that it was because our internet usage was higher than usual. This made sense as I had noticed my children using it more often. I was then offered a solution that would be the "answer to my problems." It was recommended that I switch to Bell Fibe on an unlimited internet usage package. I was offered a special 12 month rate which was about $20 more than our usual bill at that time but it made sense to avoid the internet over use charges. This took effect December 2013. On the strength of it we bought a new TV and subscribed to Netflix, knowing internet use was no longer an issue.
January 2014 was as expected with an installation charge reduced by $100 from $199.95. I recall being told at the time that it was a twelve month contract but today was informed it was two years. Then it all fell apart February, March, April and May - all included an Internet over usage charge of $80 per month totaling $320. I was overseas during this period. My wife had not paid the bill as she couldn't understand why it was so high.
I called Bell, I believe in May though it may have been early June, to try to resolve the issue. I was informed I had not been set up with unlimited internet, though, I know the only reason I switched to Bell Fibe was because I was told I was getting an unlimited internet package. I was told I would be Receiving a credit of $240 as they could only go back three months (From recent telephone conversations where representatives have been economical with the truth I am skeptical of this).
So I believe I was defrauded out of $80 at this time. I also realize that the HST I paid on the overuse was also not refunded. So I had a fairly bitter taste in my mouth. I was also told at this time I could now go to unlimited for an extra $10 per month. I remember saying something to the effect “Why would I want to pay an extra $10 per month for something that had already been agreed upon in December 2013.”
At this time I also looked into reducing the bill by taking the TV from Select to basic - a saving of $15 per month, but looking through the past bills I now see that Bell increased the internet charge by $15. So not sure if this was to do with change in bundle or they had applied $10 internet charge but that doesn't explain the $5 difference. Anyway we went away for the summer. On return discover that we had another overuse charge of $80. By this time it was September. I'd called Bell representatives but felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall and decided to look into other alternatives.
In October 2014 I gave Bell 30 days notice of leaving. I was told there would be a penalty because I was leaving before the 12 month contact was up - I was okay with that. I then got emails to the effect "Are you sure you want to leave?" I then got a cold call from retentions department (I have now learned this is an outsourced group of super salesperson). Basically I was offered a deal to stay - they would credit me the June $80 over use charge. Ongoing the charges were to be: TV $47.95 (Upgraded back to Select package), $55.95 for Internet (with increased speed), $32.95 for phone including international plan.
January 2015, my wife informed me the bills are over the expected approx $150 a month taxes included. I called a representative at the loyalty department. I was getting nowhere with her and asked to talk to a supervisor or manager - this was 10 am Wednesday 7th. I was told none were available and one would call me. I received a call at 9pm - a really helpful woman who looked at the account and told me that it looked as though only the phone reduction in cost had been applied. She must have run a diagnostic test and told me our internet speed had not been increased and it didn't look like it was even possible that it could be with our present equipment. She suggested sending a technician.
I said at this point I wasn't sure if I wanted to remain with Bell and we decided to leave it 24 hours for me to decide. I assumed she would call back the following night. On Sunday 10th a technician arrived. We were not expecting him. He then installed a new Modem with two line input. Friday 16th my wife received a reminder that our bill was overdue. There had been no credit on our overpaid charges so I decided to call Bell loyalty department again.
Initially I was told I was not on the account. My wife had me added she spelled out my name and gave my date of birth (I've been added on previous occasions). I got nowhere with the first rep and asked for a supervisor. I was passed to a manager who listen to my case and looked at the account and said the absolute most I would be offered was $54 in refund. I replied that I thought it would be higher than that. We agreed to agree to disagree and he said a note would be made on the account to that effect.
I then went online to check the bills. In October 2014 TV $55.95, Internet $61.95, Phone $36.95 (this was my typical bill) - bearing in mind Retention department offered TV $47.95, Internet $55.95, Phone $32.95. Now here comes the kicker. Nov $76.27, $61.95 and $37.00. Dec $70.95, $61.95, $36.95. I calculated a difference of $74 over the retention offer. (I know only $20 above the managers $54 maximum but there was a principle at stake here.)
Decided to call Bell again. Spoke with a representative who said I was not on the account! Great, I explained I'd been added about an hour previously and had hung up from speaking with a manager only 10 minutes previously and could I be reconnected with him. I was told this was not possible as there were no supervisors or managers in the department I was calling. I said that was strange as it was the same department I'd contacted earlier. Eventually I was put through to his supervisor. She was great. She called my wife to have me added to the account yet again. (I'd been on the phone 40 minutes at this stage.) She then passed me back to the first rep who would deal with my issue.
The rep was adamant I'd received all I was going to get. The difference arose over the TV. He said because I was on Select it was an extra charge. I tried to get him to understand I hadn't requested Select - it was a sweetener put forward by retentions. I'd also been told on 7th Jan that it hadn't been applied and I'd noticed no improvement to the channels. Who knows? We hardly watch TV. I said that we were going round in circles and to put me back on with the supervisor. He told me she had left for the day. I didn't believe this but didn't say so I just asked to be connected with another supervisor (remember he had told me previously that there were no supervisors or managers in that department). He then said "Right, I'll give you the $20." I asked that a note be made on the account that it was a matter of principle.
I feel over the past 13 months Bell have failed to implement two agreements. The first with our unlimited Internet in 2013 and the last with this retention fiasco. We have incurred late payment charges as my wife has held off paying because she can't understand why the bills are higher than the agreed price. Prior to that we had about fifteen years of just paying the Bill. Bell now has yet another dissatisfied customer to add to the many one reads on the internet.

Since the first bill I received when signing up with Bell, there were charges that I had been told over the phone wouldn't be there. I, as a customer thought that when you carry out a conversation with a company over the phone and they offer you a deal and you accept, that that is the verbal contract and that's what you're agreeing on. Yet since then I have had nothing but wrongful charges, excuses whenever I speak to customer service and nobody wants to take responsibility. As a consumer I rate this company as having a lack of properly trained employees, as I was told to do something that apparently was not supposed to be the case and am paying the repercussions for it. Secondly if they want to keep their customers I suggest they don't just say "well there's nothing I can do for you" when someone says they want to cancel their subscription with them. All in all very angry customer, would not recommend them to a single person.

Received an e-mail confirmation by e-mail, as previous quotes were wrong and waited to get a final invoice, and was told after the amount was wrong and additional fees were not included. I had a cell phone plan with Bell Mobility that I cancelled months ago. I got the final bill of $116 and change. I paid the bill at the bank. I then was refunded the $116 and change from Bell. I don't know why, but the Bell rep said it was paid to the wrong account. I had taken the bill to the bank, as I usually do, they took my money, and I figured that was that! WRONG! Then, I am getting harassed by Bell to pay the outstanding balance. So we make arrangements to repay the $116 and change.
Now months later, I get a call from Bell that there is an outstanding bill of over $500. They say it's cancellation fees. I had the phone for over 5 years. They said I had just renewed the plan (which I hadn't) and the contract was set to end in 2017. Looking at the vast amount of similar complaints, I believe this it what Bell does to keep you on the hook and try and milk as much cash as they can out of you. If they can get you on the phone and make you believe you still owe money, they win. Well, not me. I have paid my last cent to Bell Mobility. And if they are not careful, my Bell landline is history as well.

Bell Mobility Thunder Bay: My experience with them was as follows. 911 Service failed. Lots of spam and adv. robot calls. The claimed service area was not covered. Calls failed all over the city. Internet timed out more often than not, at times my phone was little more than a brick. Bell's solution was buy a newer phone from them little more than a year and a half after purchasing my iPhone 4S from them for $100 in a "free phone" deal. Local offices only sell, their staff know little and do not offer support. Phone Support people and billing are rude, unhelpful, harass and threaten without option to discuss, question, or escalate billing disputes or complaints.
Last year, one of them told me, "I've listened to you, now you will listen to me, you'll pay (it), or we'll cut you off." I had requested a breakdown of additional charges be sent a number of times. I'd spent hours on the phone and in their local office. I never did find out what those charges were. They just kept sending a pay this amount total. There were always of extra charges every month. Bell just sent me a total to be paid in three separate Envelopes. If I want to ask what the amounts are for I could call them, but I am happy to say that I have no phone at all. They gave me the option of installing their app., or using their site, but their script requires a phone and account number which they will contact. But I have cancelled both my service contract and my service so that won't work. The billing rep. didn't have a breakdown and directed me to the web site or app., their local office was useless.
When voicemail options were cancelled: it took hours to accomplish. Bell immediately left a voicemail that couldn't be cleared. They gave me temporary access to delete them. It took hours. Bell voicemails were asking how well they did cancelling the stuck voicemail I couldn't clear again. I gave up. My "free" phones er me back $100 or more dollars and I was at first quoted up to $800 to buy out of my contract after just over a year and a half. To unlock my phone to use another carrier would cost an additional $50-100 dollars if I cared to do so. Support took hours. Billing Support wouldn't verify or discuss my denial of permission to record me. Billing was often incorrect or out of sequence. Bell sent no breakdown of charges even though I repeatedly requested it for two years. They just demanded That I pay amounts without explanation.
They've now sent final notices without prior billing and before prior billing respectively as follows: Current bill for me: $240 buy out? 50 last month? $700+ TV equip (I had Bell satellite TV). It cut out regularly for hours. We moved. They give no option but to mail them their equipment. The local office won't return it. When I call they keep saying they'll send a box. They don't. I've also emailed them without reply a number of times. Now they've sent a bill for the equipment. The amounts above are actual billed amounts marked "Final Notice" even though no prior notices were received.
Bell's right hand doesn't know what its left is doing. I feel that they ensnare and financially rape their customers, their coverage is often overstated (or worse), their cells are overestimated, their people are rude and unhelpful, their offices are all but unavailable unless you have an active Bell account and service. Their billing is overstated (or worse), web servers time out a lot, and 911 service is not reliable (I couldn't call in a fire in the middle of the city until I drove a number of blocks to find service). I'm waiting for this to go to collection then seeing a lawyer. Bell Mobility is a Nightmare!

I was overseas and unable to spend the standard 2 hours on hold with firstly Emily the Bell Robot then various customer service reps. who might as well be robots!! So I emailed my bank and asked them to put a stop payment on any further withdrawals from Bell which they did. On returning from Europe I was faced with a bill from a collection agency for $200 and some dollars for equipment that I had not returned to them, despite being told in May that there was no equipment to be returned when I cancelled the service. I then phoned Bell and tried to get someone to tell me what the $97.00 charge referred to in July. Was told it had to do with TV service. After being on the phone for some 8 hours with various reps and managers I was put in contact with Bell in Montreal.
To cut a long story short. I have been billed thousands of dollars for a dial-up service that was cancelled in 2008!! In short, does this company ever cross reference their billing procedures. You would think that they would have some kind of reference number relating to the product that is being billed. Why could nobody that I spoke reference this amount to a particular service!

I ported the 3 cellular numbers on my account to Rogers Wireless. I contacted Bell in December to ask about a final Bill and was informed that they wait 30 days before finalizing it. I reported a line problem on Dec 18th.2014. We could hear clearly other conversations. It was scheduled for repair on Dec 19. Now on Jan 3rd, 2015 the problem has escalated to a deadline and I have discovered security breeches during the 12 or 13 hours I have been talking to different representatives. And they try to shift the responsibility and suggest many ways to avoid responsibility - e.g. that I must have called to make the incorrect changes to the account or my husband - etc etc. NO - not us.
I want to hear the recording of that call! And being alarmed I scrutinized my bills and found false long distance charges - only for small amounts; however, the point is that their system has major flaws and the reps cannot or will not deal with it. After 10 times of trying asking and being assured that the incorrect address had been fixed, on today's rescheduling of the repair, I discover that the faulty home address is still in the system that was when Bell called to once again to delay repairs - now starting the 3rd week!

No contracts on any phones.
In May of 2013 my mother passed away so I cancelled the cell phone I have previously set up for her use. Once again NO CONTRACTS as I had just transferred a number onto one of my existing cell phones. Bell continued to bill me for the phone number I had cancelled in May 2013 (27.00 per month). I would call requesting they stop charging me but would be transferred all over. They continued to charge me into 2014 despite my constant phone calls (of which they conveniently have no record of).
In March of 2014 they requested a copy of the death certificate for my mother (although the phone I cancelled was in my name not my mother’s) so I finally after almost a year sent it to them, this being the first time they had asked me for that. I have dealt with bell for over 15 years and now after a year of dealing with a charge of 27.00 a month for a line I called to disconnect, I now received a disconnection notice 1 week before Christmas for the amount of 351.28. I called and was once again transferred all over the place, and in the end was told they cancelled the line once they received the death certificate in April 2014 (no one had ever requested one before or I would have sent it when I called in May of 2013 and I still don't know why they need one as the phone was not in my mother’s name but mine and I AM NOT DEAD.)
They refuse to credit me all the charges they have been billing me for over the past year even though they have it on file the date I originally called to cancel the line back in May of 2013. Although they did credit me the 400.00 for the cancellation that I was not even aware they had charged me, I still don't understand why I would be charged a cancellation fee anyways since there was NO contract to cancel. I need someone to help me with this. I am sick of dealing with this company and I am now going to change after 15 years of nothing but headaches from BELL. It doesn't make sense too since bell mobility is the only company that does not have this method of paso. The other day I have to make a payment because I am behind and fair enough I understand that they have to follow rules so I go to make a credit card payment to a Visa debit which means I actually have the money in my account but they refused to accept payment Visa Debit since it is money I actually have. They told me that I have to pay with a regular credit card which means actually do not have that money, hmmm how does that work? Why do they not accept it?
None of their reasoning makes even the slightest amount of sense to me! So they're telling us that if you have no money but you have a credit card which is technically money that do not have but will accept payment but if I actually have the money in my bank account this method of payment is not recognized as valid!!!???? Wtf???? This is only one of a few things that frustrates me but it really is a big issue for me!

DISRESPECT. Every several months, I receive a promotional letter in the mail from Bell. This practice has been occurring for many years. The offerings usually revolve around the bundling of services and are described as "amazing... more for less... unbeatable prices... etc". The provocation is that Bell attempts to muffle all the details essential to an informed decision, i.e. terms, conditions dates, pricing, into one compressed paragraph in a type size that is next to impossible to read or understand. This invaluable consumer information is consistently relegated to the back bottom one inch of an otherwise blank side of the promotional piece. It can only be construed that Bell is ill at ease about the value of its offerings and in its rush for profitability, is willing to forgo basic customer courtesy and common social values. A clear sign of disrespect. I have on several occasions contacted Bell to request that they e-mail me the terms and conditions of the offer so that I can make an informed decision. They refuse to do so.

I signed up with a special promotion with Bell Fibe TV, Fibe Internet, and Home phone that I received in the mail. I was quoted a specific price and even received a confirmation email of the Grand Total price I was expected to pay. I get the service installed and then receive my first Bell bill with a price greater than what I agreed to (even though I have email confirmation of the price).
I call Bell and they tell me that the price has changed and I will not get the Bell TV Bundle discount (a discount of $8 for the Bell TV) because of the promotion I am receiving (TV programming discount for 12 months). But the worst part is that Bell TV Bundle discount was included in the email confirmation quote that they sent me when I signed up, and nothing was changed at all with the order from when I signed up! I told them that's not the price and promotion I agreed to and I even have the price I agreed to in an email confirmation and I was promised that price for 1 year. They simply tell me that their prices and promotions are subject to change any time and that I just have to accept the new price and they will do nothing further to rectify the price.
Sounds like a cold hard MAFIA business Bell is running in which they change the prices and promotions whenever they feel like it (even though I was promised the promotional price for 1 year). I definitely want to switch back to Videotron after being treated so badly by Bell's customer service representatives. They don't have any empathy at all for their customers, hiding behind their misquoted policies that are not even on their agreement/confirmation emails. AVOID Bell at all costs, they do not have any honor at all with the price they quote you, even if you have that quote in writing!

We decided to switch from Xplornet to Bell for Internet services. Bell does not have service in our area so we were told the Turbo Hub was a fast and competitive option. Not only was it not cheaper, our first bill is nearly 4 times that of Xplornet. We were not told that it operates like a cell phone and that if you leave your computer on (and perhaps the device) that you will use up data like crazy. Two weeks after activating the Turbo Hub the Internet shut down and when we called we were told this is to prevent people from going over their data limit. But the technical support person said we were not close to our limit and it had been an error. In fact we were already past our limit. We have a contract (in order to get the $99 promotional fee on the device) but we can't even use the Internet lightly. We don't download music or videos. What a terrible rip off.

I was with Telus since 97 with a cell phone and wanted a Samsung s2 phone. Telus could not provide that phone at that time so I went to Bell. I got the S2. Just before the warranty ran out I had a problem with it. I called Bell and they sent the proper packaging stuff for me to send it out. I was working 14 hr. 7 days a week and did not get it, sent out until 5 or 6 days after the warranty was over. Bell said I would have to pay for the repairs which was about 350 bucks. I needed a phone asap as I was going to B.C. for a wedding, so I talked to a Bell supervisor and he told me that if I purchased a new phone he would not make it a 3 year plan as I had the old phone for a year. So I got it now and am stuck for a 3 year plan again. This conversation was recorded at the time. The new law was in the works at that time but was not in force. I keep telling Bell to bring up that conversation that I had, but they will not. I give them $120 for TV, $95 for the turbo hub and $70 bucks for the cell phone. We are just numbers to them as they do not care about anything but the almighty dollar. Do you think I am pissed off at these clowns? You better believe it.

I had a business account with Bell for almost 3 years. I had two phones on one phone number and an internet account. During this time I did not have any issues with them. I cancelled my service with them in March because I was moving from the building and moving my office to my home office. I cancelled both my internet and business line. I have a different provider at my home with a number of bundled services so it was more efficient and cost effective for me to go with them rather than with Bell. I had my business line transferred by the other provider. Bell sent me my final bill with regard to the internet within the billing date. I never did receive a final bill from my business line.
A couple of months later I started to receive collection calls about a phone number associated with my business line which I had no knowledge of and was cancelled in March. During discussions I realized that this is what is called a roll over line. Bell's back office solution to having two phones on one phone number. Bell never cancelled this line, never sent me a bill for this line or the main line. Bell claimed that they would initiate an investigation and gave me an ireq number to refer to. I never heard from them again until they put me into collections. I was then harassed by a company out of Montreal who called everyday with threats and shouting at me. The amount of money they were harassing me for was not large - approximately $200.00 I feel that this was Bell's error. They treated me very badly. I would like this money back purely on principle. I will never deal with Bell again!

Back in 2011 a clerk at Future Shop in Kamloops forgot to put $200 as my deposit on my phone/contract receipt. He only put $100 on it. I do normal check everything carefully but our son was just hospitalized and it was the last day to return a dead phone before the 30 days and get into a new one and we're distracted and trying to get it done so we could get back to the hospital. After 6 months I heard nothing. I tried to text Bell but the texts would not go through. I went online and got numbers from their website. I spent 2 weeks calling at different times of the day only to have it ring 4 times and then the line go dead.
So I went to Facebook and called them on this there. I then got a number that worked from someone at FB only to be told there was no record at all of any deposit being paid ever. I dug out my paperwork to find only $100 on the receipt. Bell refused to give back the other $100. In the beginning they told me I HAD to pay $200 because I did not have a credit card. This was listed on Bell's website as their policy. They would not answer me as to how I even got the phone if I supposedly only paid 100! Ignored me every time I asked that question. The clerk at Future Shop did not remember me after 6 months so they would not return the money either.
I have not stepped inside a Future Shop since and I never will. My contract is almost up with Bell and I will NEVER give them my business again. They just said over and over that since there is no record of the other $100 so they do not have to give it to me even though it was their policy to charge 200 to get into a phone. They said "200 or a CC is the ONLY way I could get a phone so I pay 200 and pay all my bills in full on time and after 6 months they act like I made up that policy or something?!" I want to warn others that they are a giant ripoff company. No morals at all.
Also as a side note the clerk at Future Shop was clearly high or had had no sleep. He could not seem to pay attention and his eyes were unbelievably red. So he may have made the mistake. Either way one or both of these companies completely turned their back on a regular customer and treated me like I was a liar. So I am done with both forever. Too bad because later that year I was shopping for a new PC and cable/internet/TV provider. Neither place got my business. The 100 they took from me pales in comparison to the thousands they could have made off me. Their loss IMO.

I was told the fastest speed I could get was 1mbps by some foreigner on the phone. I said but I've been getting 2.1 mbps second for the last 2 years and she said that was impossible. I asked her if she was calling me a liar. Hard time with a response. Technician shows up. He says 2.2 mbps is the best I'LL ever get because of my distance from the server..... lmao. I got the right woman on the phone in June... with a totally Canadian accent last June. Since then my speed has consistently been about 3.3 mbps. I was kind enough to get a phone in my name for my bf and roommate. All was well for the 3 years of the contract. Things happened and she decided to move out. So, I told her to put the phone in her name and this is where the nightmare begins...She contacted Bell, they wouldn't allow her to without my permission. So I had to call Bell and advise them that she will be putting it in her name. No problem, so I thought. Well she moves. Bill was never transferred to her. I continued to receive bills. I cancelled the phone immediately. Bell continues to bill me the monthly rate after I had cancelled AND added a $400 cancellation fee. WTF?? The contract was well over the 3 years and I should be able to cancel at anytime right? Well, to my shock and amazement, the contract and phone had been renewed for an additional 3 years. WTF? So, after many attempts to speak to someone knowledgeable at Bell I finally got to the bottom of things. Apparently someone renewed the contract and signed my name at The Source. And this was allowed without showing identification!
Well I just about lost my mind! The Source was kind enough to forward me a copy of the signed contract. Yup, definitely not my signature. This is where the fun begins, after about 10 phone calls, 50 transfers, 20 refusals to let me speak to management I get a Bell rep that tells me okay, go file a police report and call back with the report number and we will remove the cancellation charges and he also removed the overages they had charged. Sweet. Easy enough. So, I go spend the afternoon in line and filling out paperwork and get my report. Rush back to call Bell to rectify this. Boy was I a fool. No one seems to know anything about it and they do not do that kind of credits. WHAO!! Here we go again, transfer after transfer, hold after hold, I have now lost my patience. I had enough! So I file a complaint to the BBB. To my amazement, a reply to call a 1-800 number!! So I do, several times! To be left on hold for 10+ min each call. Enough! I respond again to BBB explaining the situation again, and well I get the call the 1-800! So, now that the collections agency is now on me for this because they forwarded my personal info from the BBB complaint to them, I am going to talk to someone! I wait!
Finally get a hold of someone only to regurgitate my story once again, only to be RUDELY interrupted every time. I'm losing my temper at this point! She keeps cutting me off and telling me to lower my voice. I told her to stop interrupting me and let me finish. So, she proceeds to tell me she has no record of the rep stating he will credit me back the fees and will have to do an investigation because I knew the person! EXCUSE ME??? I don't think so. I told her that she can go back to the day the rep credited me back the overages, and that will be on record of which employee it was and that is the same person that had made these arrangements, and regardless if I knew the person or not they allowed someone to sign my name and renew the contract!!! She admitted to having a copy of the contract. She continued to argue with me, I hung up and contacted the BBB once again, not only against Bell but their representatives at The Source holding them liable for their negligent policies and employees. I REFUSE to be responsible for their actions and greed! This is not over!

For the fourth time and second time in a short amount of space, Bell has lied, manipulated and schemed their way through every conversation we've had, or Every meeting to have the installation happen. From call center agents who lied, hung up on me the first time, after telling me they give my social insurance number to someone else to use, my name starts with a D... They gave it to an Ana? I think the agent had blurted before, lying and saying they weren't sure, and I would need to verify myself at a store, not only to you. Tell me Bell, you committed I.D. fraud without my knowledge but I still need to verify myself. Fine I do that, because calling head office is useless and I just kept on getting a secretary with too much pep but not enough common sense to do much, according to her..
Having my sim number stolen by Bell is fine. So no call back from the president or anyone of value. I did how ever call back to follow up, and had the rudest customer complaint resolution service in my life. She told me it was my fault and then hung up on me, after refusing to transfer me.. Joy. If this happened in my work place, we'd be toast, so I gave up on Bell. Went with Rogers. Say what you want but they have prompt, reliable, on time service, and they've never given my ID to someone else.
So I actually think that will be my next option, as Bell, after me giving them a second chance 2 weeks ago, sent the wrong technician at the wrong time who set up a phone line he had no clue how to set up. I asked for internet.. Dude had no modem. All Bell Canada qualified people of course. So person wrote down they completed the order..another lie. Place of lies, that place. So I cancel it because there was nothing hooked up. Now speed pass to last night, 5 to 9 is the window they give me, make me and my roommate stay home, wait, no one shows up, calls, makes an effort. It's Saturday, at least have the common courtesy to show up or call or pie.
I call them this morning. Automated message tells me they are coming on Monday to complete it from 8-12. I work from 8 to 5... See the issue there... Bell you thieves, liars, users, and money hungry vultures, if your boss won't do anything, understand that small businesses like Acanac are going to strain you badly one of these days. They offer something you have never ever ever had.. Customer satisfaction, not since my Mom had your black Bell home phone calls in the 90s, when you were more trustworthy.. I can provide her details upon your request and with her permission. She is Bell customer for many years (over 20 as I believe). She has no income other than government payments. She has to pay her rent, utilities, clothing and food from these payments and barely makes ends meet. She has no assets. As she can't afford making calls to her remaining relatives in Russia through Bell, she is using calling cards for years paying few cents per minute.
In summer, something went wrong with her calling card. She explained to me that after she entered calling card pin it was a long message (which she didn't understand) and then beep sound. After a beep she entered 011* number in Russia assuming that she is calling using her calling card. She placed few calls during summer period. She was shocked when she received a bill from Bell for over 500 dollars as Bell charges around 3$ a minute!!! She is depressed and cries.
I called Bell today and tried to explain her situation and what happened. She doesn't refuse to pay but she obviously is not able to absorb this amount. I asked Bell representative if her payment can be reduced and I was told that there is nothing can be done to reduce her payment and the only option that was suggested is to subscribe for additional Bell service that covers international calls! I have 2 questions. First one - is there any compassion and humanity here? The 2nd question - why someone should pay 3$ a minute for long-distance call? I personally have forgotten that such high rate even exists. I am, thanks God, not Bell customer and I personally pay 4 cents a minute calling to Russia from my Mobilicity cell!!!

After 6 years with Rogers (Internet, TV, home phone), I elected to try out another provider. I was somewhat exhausted with Rogers - especially from a pricing perspective. I met a young fellow outside a strip plaza from Bell, and what he was offering seemed reasonable. All I wanted was internet service and the no-contract, monthly fee he was offering was very competitive and I went ahead and signed up, with service commencing Aug 25 (day after my Rogers service was cancelled). The installation took place and all was good with the speed, connectivity, etc. I had no phone service since cancelling with Rogers, and decided to inquire about basic home phone service from Bell. I called the same young fellow, and I signed up with phone service as well. This is where my troubles started.
The fellow took my details - including a B1# (which I will forever hate), and I was transferred to a person to confirm my order. I agreed, and after a missed call, I was left a message that the install would happen on Sept 19. I get a call from my wife on the morning of Sept 16 advising there was no connectivity to the internet. We dialed Bell that same afternoon and spoke with an agent in their technical issues dept that could not initially pull up a file with the notorious B1#. After I offered my account number (what a wonderful idea), the rep pulled up the file and started referencing my phone order. I confirmed that I did place an order for a phone, but the issue was with the connectivity of my internet. After having been placed on hold repeatedly for unreal amounts of time (no "May I place you on hold" rather "I'm going to place you on hold, Thanks") I ended hanging up.
I call back in and go through the whole song and dance again eventually asking to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor, is unable to pull up a file with the notorious B1# and eventually pulls it up with the postal code and again, is unable to address the issue with my internet connectivity. He mentions he would review and call me back in 45 minutes, and never does.
I call back in (blood pressure rising), and speak to another agent (who seems a little bit more knowledgeable) and walks me through some troubleshooting activities, but then says he has never seen something like this and mentions something about their two internal systems not talking to one another?? I advises he will escalate to their tier 2 technical escalations unit but as they were busy, mentioned someone would call me back. No call (surprise, surprise).
Next day is a work from home day. I had a series of meetings that I was hosting via WebEx - and no internet connectivity. Livid right about now, I call back in to Bell, provide the notorious B1# and the agent pulls up the file right away. I finally get a logical answer around the root cause of my connectivity which has something to do with the current set up which never had a phone line (something about dry loop), and because I added home phone, it the internet service would be disconnected until the activation of the phone on the 19th?! 4-5 days without service because I gave more business to Bell?!! What?!!!! Requiring some form of Blood Pressure control at this time, I asked for connectivity restored immediately to which the agent advised nothing could be done and I would have to wait.
After scampering to figure out to do with my work commitments, I call in the next day trying to understand how I could escalate and provide feedback around Bell products and services. Again, walk through the same song and dance with a Manager (oh yeah, could not pull up my file again with the beloved B1#). Getting nowhere with the Manager regarding addressing my concern around the service disruption, he mentioned that I speak to billing to get some form of compensation for the outage (which I had already mentioned on the call). Put on hold again, he comes back and advises that I would have to wait until the phone service is set up, and then call billing. Wonderful.
After 6 years of receiving fairly decent service (and essentially no service interruption), I move on to Bell who within the first month, provided low grade customer service, inability to diagnose/troubleshoot an issue, and clearly articulate fairly material internal process/procedures that would be impactful to their customers. I should be cancelling my service (thank goodness not contract), but for the lack of alternative and sheer pride (not going back to Rogers with my tail between the legs), I have to ride this out for at least the next while.
Bell - If someone gives you more business it's a good thing. Why would you impact existing service then? It should be a seamless process, with no customer impact. Think it's prudent you sort out your internal processes.

I had already cancelled my internet service with Bell because I was unhappy with the internet bundle that I had at the time. While on the hunt for a new internet provider, Bell called me back and gave me a different offer. Since they were already my television provider, a customer service agent told me that I could have unlimited internet if I signed up for a home phone line as well. They assured me several times that my internet would be unlimited and I would have no problems after this. After reviewing my options, I figured it was best if all of my services were from the same company and proceeded to go through with this new offer. Bell was now my television, internet, and home phone line provider. A technician even came into my house to upgrade the modem. I thought that everything was good to go from there, or so it seemed.
Fast forward two weeks to me logging into my email and seeing a message from Bell. It claims that I had already reached 90% of my internet usage limit with 15 days left of my billing period. How can that be if I had an unlimited amount of usage a month? Enraged and confused, I called customer support and after being on hold for at least two hours, I was finally forwarded to a representative. I was told that my bundle did not actually include unlimited internet even though I was assured several times that it did by different customer service representatives.
Before Bell contacted me with that unlimited offer, I had initially already signed up with a different internet provider and paid an activation fee. But after Bell offered me that bundle, I contacted the internet provider to cancel my activation. If the new bundle did not actually include unlimited internet, why in the world would I even accept that offer? It makes no sense. The customer service representative that I was on the phone with just now said that I would have to pay an extra $10 if I wanted unlimited internet, something that was never mentioned in my initial conversation with Bell. Not only was I deceived into getting a redundant home line that nobody ever uses (everyone in our household has a cell phone), but I now have to pay an extra sum of money that was never communicated to me once in the first place.
Bell's customer service is completely appalling and their advertising is deceitful and misleading. Not only was I on hold for hours, but once I was able to talk to someone, I was transferred numerous times. The Loyalty Representative I spoke to was very rude and discourteous and it even got to a point where he was raising his voice at me. As a loyal customer of Bell for over a decade, I have never witnessed such incompetent and inefficient customer service until today. I will be cancelling as soon as possible.

In November 2012, I faithfully upgraded my phone and re-upped for another 3 years with Bell for my cell phone. With some strong arm tactics I was persuaded to use the old phone as a secondary phone, as a share the minutes side line to my service. I did this. After about a week I realized that I did not need the second line and went in to the store to cancel the second line. This was never done! Shame on me for not following up but when I checked my bill it was still on there. I have been paying for a service that I do not use for 19 months and furthermore one, I requested to be cancelled. Well it is cancelled now -- I hope, but no refund - typical of Bell. This is the last in a long list of poor service, billing mistakes that I have had for over 25 years with Bell. I have been a loyal Bell customer for all those years. So no longer. At first opportunity when the damn contacts run out, I will be switching from Bell for both my personal phones and my corporate account.

I just bought my phone (Samsung Note 3) for only a month and now I didn't have it for 5 weeks. The store told me the assistant manager name Samanta dealing my case, I have been calling and left the message but she never want to contact me back. Right now, CCTS and CRTC are assisting me and investigating about this issue. Just want to give everyone a heads up and be considerate before dealing with this store.

Bell sold me the old bait and switch. When I signed up for a mobile device, they said that I could get free internet and Fibe TV for six months. As I know how this ploy works, I was sure to ask them if there would be an installation fee. They said no. I asked if I would be able to cancel the TV and keep the internet after the 6 month period without any penalties for cancellation. They said yes. As you might guess, none of this happened. On top of charging me an installation fee, as well as an extra $20.00 per month for movie channels to which I did not subscribe, they threatened me with an early cancellation fee of $150.00, stating that I agreed to a 24-month contract. Hogwash.

I have been a customer of Bell for a little over two years now and I am really angry with them for their high prices and low quality services as well as other things. Here are a few examples of how they have ripped me off. When I signed up with them, I got the hdpvr deal for two years with a 2 year contract and after two, I was supposed to keep it for free.
In January of this year, the pvr was acting up so I called to have it replaced. I was told at the bell store that they could mail me a replacement and I could install it; I would send the faulty one back and my promo would stay the same. Well, the rep on the phone said that was a lie and it has to be a new install and I have to pay $75 to have a tech come to my home and switch it out. THAT WAS A LIE. Then my replacement pvr was a newer model so I couldn't continue on the same promo. They had to restart the promo from scratch and I just got them to do that last month.
It's not my fault that their equipment is faulty but I am the one who is stuck with the rotten end of that deal. The next thing is their internet services. Where I live, I only have the 5/1 package and with 6 people in my household, that is not enough. But they have no idea as to when better speeds are going to be available in my area. I am getting charge and arm and a leg for all the services and then I get this notice that prices are going up. I already feel like i pay too much.
I tried to call last week to talk to customer loyalty to get them to fix everything but when I asked to be transferred, I got told no. And then got told that what I have is what I have and if I am not happy with it. then I am to leave or suck it up. I don't know where to turn.

How often do you have to phone Bell to correct billing errors? I have phoned every single month for at least 8 months. The latest brilliant business practice is soliciting a promotion, in this case to add Movie network at half price, only $7 per month for four months. When bill arrived, the promotion was applied for the coming month of service; however I was charged full price for the 34 days the service was active prior to the current billing cycle. And I have been reassured that since that charge was a proration until Bell deemed the promotion to become effective (unbeknownst to me), I will not receive the promotional rate I was promised for the past 34 days.

Both my wife and I obtained smartphones with Bell. After a few months we noticed that we were being charged long distance, even though we have an Aldergrove number and live in Abbotsford. That means that we are NEVER supposed to be charged long distance if we get a call from Vancouver to Abbotsford. We told this to Bell, and one of their reps told us that because we live on Sumas mountain, Bell's microwave tower is close to us, and it's in Chilliwack, so it picks up our local calls and converts them into long distance. We again went to Bell, and they told us that we would have to put all of the top people that we phone often into our Fab 10, so we don't get charged long distance. This phenomenon even happened when my wife phoned my phone when I was downstairs and she was upstairs in our own home.
This was totally unacceptable to us, and we phoned Bell back and talked to another rep, which told us that what Bell had said was completely wrong and that there had to be some way of fixing it immediately. I asked them to check into it. That was over 2 1/2 years ago. The top 1/2 of my keyboard stopped working on the 8th month. I phoned Bell about it, and even went into the Bell store to tell them about it. They put together a lengthy 2 page email together and promised that they would send it to their 'special services representative' right away. Turns out she wasn't in their store that day, and they said that they would get it to her, but she was on holidays for one more week.
We went back 10 days later to see the 'special services rep' and she did not get the email, and admitted to both my wife and myself that they had lost it, and that she had not ever gone on holidays, and said she couldn't figure out why their staff would say such a thing. This song and dance nightmare went on for another 4 months, until magically they told us that we were just 'out of our 12 month contract' and there was absolutely nothing that they could do for us. These are not stories, nor suggestions nor unprovable experiences. I was recently at a Meetup group and talked to a Bell business rep, and was telling her my story, and she cut me off in mid sentence saying, "Don't tell me they charged you long distance when you have a local number, right?" I was dumbfounded to realize that Bell apparently knows about this issue, and was only too happy to charge us long distance when we have a local number.
Let's just see how many other similar complaints existing Bell customers have with this kind of issue. What is going on with the collapse of any kind of customer care experience? My real question is this, are they listening, and if they are then when are they planning to change their policies? Interesting to note on the bottom of this form it has a box that has a checkmark if you want an attorney to contact you about your complaint. So, my next question is this, why can't Bell just fix issues before they are taken to a forum where they could possibly find themselves in court? Wouldn't it be easier to just give excellent customer service in the first place? My two cents worth.

Phone complaint. "They are currently working to improve connection in your area." For more than 3 months? We are ok with it. Suddenly this month's bill came home with "unlimited usage" $30. Called a CSR, said, "Oh you have only 2 services with us. You should not get this discount at first place." What??? Then asked to hold on the line for 7 minutes. She came back, "Oh that promotion no longer available". Another surprise! Promotion can be start or end by their own term. We were so upset with the call and asked to cancel. A Bell Tech recently upgraded our Bell internet service and switched over our home phones from Rogers to Bell. I had great reservations of making the telephone switch back to Bell but we were having persistent telephone line qualities with Rogers and had no choice. We left Bell many years ago due to Bell's lack of customer sensitiivity and arrogance. Naively I thought that Bell had changed its attitude towards its customers but it turns out not so. When doing the install, the Bell Tech cut our Rogers Cable TV line unknown to him and only discovered after he left. The Tech leaves a telephone no. but does not call me back.
Technical Support tells me to call Rogers! Imagine! Bell causes an outage on my cable TV and then tells me to deal with it. Attempts to escalate this within Bell is an exercise in frustration. No one cares. Bell representatives assure me the problem will be quickly addressed but no one calls me to propose a remedy. After 4 hours chasing Bell folks on the phone and 24 hours later, I am told that "someone" will come back to my home the next day. This would be 48 hours after they cut the cable TV line.
To add insult to injury, they make the all day appointment without even contacting me. It was only after I chased them that I found out by accident of the appointment.. Technical support, customer service, customer loyalty are all totally useless. No one takes ownership. They make promises they can't deliver. I am supposed to get call back from customer service today which never happened. I so regret having made the telephone switch from Rogers to Bell. The Bell today is no different than the stale monopoly it was years ago. I wonder if the Bell Tech intentionally cut our cable TV line to get us to switch to Fibe TV! This incident is clearly a matter of gross negligence on Bell's part. The tech should have checked all our services to ensure there was no impact on our TV as a result of his install.

They say my phones radial is broken and will need a new phone. I get a different phone, works for about a month then again no service, calls, texts. I call Bell November 2013. They tell me they are having a network issues, and it is effecting 800 different customers. Bell says they will contact me when issue resolved.
By February 2014 I call again to Bell. They say it is their network issue and give me back 50% of my bill back dated till November. Bell tells me again, they will contact me when issue is resolved. By the time April 2014 comes around and I haven't heard anything, I call in again. Well, this time they go back on their word and tell me that my second phone from them is also broken and it's LG's problem and not theirs. So, they tell me for nearly 6 months that it is a problem on their end and then decide without calling or e-mailing me that it's in fact two phones I have purchased from them are broken.
I contact the BBB and get a reply that there is nothing they can do to help me and then, they insult me, by offering, if I pay off the rest of my contract ($250) and a get another phone from them. They will give me one month of services free. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me a third time are you kidding me! I have just contacted the CCTS and waiting for a reply. We have a major problem with the bill we just received and when we called Bell yesterday we received little help to clear up this issue. We called Bell to cancel our service on Feb 9th, 2014 as we made the decision to move to Magic Jack for our home phone. We were told our service would be terminated on Feb 25th. As we were told yesterday the account is still active - issue number 1. Issue number 2, the bill we just received and almost had a heart attack over the calls that were made on Feb 10th and Feb 11th were NOT made from inside our house.
On Feb 10th, my husband and I were preparing for a family trip out of the country the following day, we were married in OUR home at 1:30 PM. If required I will get a written letter to confirm this from the Reverend that married us. One of the MANY calls to Belgium were made at 13:29 that day... As for the rest of the calls to BELGIUM that day and on Feb 11th again were not made from our home... Feb 11th, we along with our entire family, left for the airport at 3:30 AM. Nobody had access to our house. No alarm was triggered during our trip. Our house was not broken into.
If you look into our history with Bell, has a call ever been placed to Europe? And to top it off the numbers that are listed are for a SEX CLUB. We have no problem sending our travel documents and a letter from the Reverend for Feb 10th.. Please feel free to contact myself or P to discuss this matter - Please do not expect payment for the calls made to Belgium as we will not be paying this portion of the bill. We find it very odd we called to cancel our service with Bell and within the following few days these calls were made... So after I sent this email to Bell, I wanted to follow up and was then told Bell does not accept emails, I had to fax these details!! WHAT? This is Bell Canada we are talking about... Nothing has been resolved to say the very very least, we will be going to the media.

I just changed over to BMTS, a local internet and phone provider. I called to cancel my service and suddenly I was given a sales pitch to get a bundle with Bell. I was also told I could get a reduced phone service for my stripped down phone (only touch tone) for $24 a month but I am paying $34 a month already for my very basic phone service. Luckily I didn't cancel as BMTS is going to port my phone number to their site. The Bell rep tried to tell me BMTS would only have voice-over and if my computer was down, I would have no phone. A big lie.
I had my phone line cut off twice but nothing wrong with my line but someone tampering with the lines in my building. The first time I had a 4-day wait, the second time 6 days. No apologies, no rebate for not having service. I had Simpatico too, and my first modem failed after a couple of weeks. I had to wait a week to get a new one. Within the year, the second one failed, and they said it would be two weeks. So I cancelled Simpatico and was still billed for one month and they had the audacity to tell me to mail in the broken modem even though there is a Bell store in the mall in town! Of course I never paid the bill.

As a new customer to Bell for more than a year, my husband and I are so disappointed and upset with the way your company network. The problem we have on both of our phones is that the incoming calls will occasionally forward to voicemail without ringing. This is a continuous issue for the last 12-months. Below are the samples of what happened to us and they are more than that. This happened recently with my husband's phone that a call from a business client that had been calling him couple of times and the calls always went to voicemail. His client thought he was not in town, in fact we were not.
Another example is I called my husband's phone after work, as usual it went to voicemail. I knew he was having dinner with a friend, so I call his friend's number to find him. He told me there was no ringing on his phone. So his friend (that my husband was having dinner with) called my husband's phone for testing and of course it didn't ring. Same happened to my phone that I used landline to call my cell phone that I was holding on hand. The call went to voicemail. On 21st December 2013, my husband and I were shopping at Richmond Center and my friend called my husband and told him that she had been calling me for the whole afternoon and all calls went to voicemail.
We had visited Bell stores couple of times since the problem occurs and the representatives recommended changing new SIM cards and resetting both phones, updating software to the new version and changing a new iPhone. All have been done, but the problem is not fixed. On 28th January 2013, I called technical support to report this issue and the representative had reset both of our phones network setting. At night I called the technical support again to get help on resetting my husband's phone. After all, we felt abandon and my husband & I have reached our limit to be patient. On 4th February, I called again because the same happened to my husband's phone again. Your staff Alicia finally sent the case to Engineer department for investigation and the ticket number is **. It had been 6 weeks; there was no improvement on his network connection.
Today (March 12th) the same happened to my husband's phone again. My friend and myself had been calling him from 2:30pm till 3:34pm with no connection to him and it went direct to his voicemail. So, I called your company technical support and report this case again and request to cancel the service. I was talking to your customer care staff Rosario (staff # **) to terminate the contract. His first offer was to pay $490 as penalty or change to another device. I am sorry I am not going to pay any penalty for unsatisfactory service and the hassle that causing us. Then he talked to his supervisor and the finally offer was $290. I told him we would not pay a penalty for these type of services. My husband had lost a business of $10,000 and it was due to the contact person couldn't contact him for 2 weeks. Who is going to compensate our loss of business? Is it Bell will be responsible for the loss? He said no. So we will not pay a penny.
He told us that there is nothing he can do. I also counter-offered to return our phones to your company and he said no. So I requested to talk to the supervisor and he said he was busy on other calls, and then he told me he would call back within 24 hours. I said no I am going to wait. He kept on saying he would call back within 24 hours. I said ok then after I confirmed contact info with him. He said that he would call beck within 24 hour and maximum in 48 hours. Normally the supervisor will call back within 24 hours. This wasn't what he was saying initially and he was trying to get off the phone with me because I kept on saying I would like to wait for his supervisor. I can't believe a big company like yours, your customer representative will trick the customer like that.

Our names are A and B. We used to work for a Bell corporate store in Nova Scotia. Our experiences became so unbearable that we switched companies and starting working for a competitor. The manager was a complete corporate lackey, that wanted to sell iPhone 5's to old ladies with fixed incomes, TV and satellite packages to people who never asked for it in the 1st place. It was all about numbers. Existing customers didn't matter, nor did prepaid customers, nor people with bill issues. It was just new customers and contracts. We were told to sell at least three accessories with each customer and never had any in store credits or worthwhile incentives for customer (our new company does!).
People came into to us for help but management said they had to call in for themselves but we could spend an hour on the phone setting a client up for a new phone. WE left because we are 2 of the few people who actually cared for our customers and wanted them to have the best deals out there. We are now working at a multicarrier company that puts the clients’ needs first and we go home proud to work for such a company. There are only so many ways to sell Bell and when Telus is offering a plan at the same price but with more... who wouldn't switch?
The company has a target for how many accessories a rep should sell a month. If you’re 1/10 behind that target you get put on probation and threatened with termination. Of course it is all worded politely and with emphasis on improvement, but the underlying message is very clear. Customers are treated as scoreboard numbers and are only useful when attaining targets and manager bonuses (whom are encouraged not to share that information with staff). Of course the wireless industry is goal and numbers related and one would expect strong aggressive selling, but not this. Bell is sleazy and the epitome of corporate greed. It’s the consumer who suffers. We just switched jobs!!!!

My experience with Bell, a long and tragic tale. It all started quite simply, I just wanted to cancel a service that I was not using, seemed simple at the time, that was my first mistake. Of course my next Bell bill still had the cancelled device charge on it. The service had been cancelled, I no longer had the use of the device but found myself paying for something I could not access. Phone Bell again, explain situation thinking it was now resolved, end of month Bell bill arrives and yes there it was again, the charge for the service I was not getting, and I foolishly was expecting a credit from the last bill for the overpayment.
So phone Bell again thinking this time yes it is finally resolved. In the meantime I made a payment to Bell less the amount of the device I had cancelled 2 months ago. Apparently this was not the right thing to do because the next bill had a late payment fee and interest fee attached to it because I had not paid the full amount of the bill and to think I was expecting a credit. Now I am starting to think waste more time with Bell, just pay it, or cancel everything with Bell. I opted for the last option which of course as I found out was something that could not be accomplished either. Well at least not from an economical stand point. So there I was financially stuck with Bell.
Next round: I found myself last year just after Christmas with a rather large debt owing to Bell, payment was made, a check was mailed, payment appeared to have been received at Bell. I say appeared because on the next Bell bill I received there was a credit for the amount of the I owed. However 2 lines down from the credited amount was a new line reinstating that amount along with late payment fees. As I was looking at the bill trying to make some sense of it, thinking I guess I am going to have to phone Bell and find out what this Bill actually means. Well no need for me to call them this time, they called me, someone from collections. Requesting payment immediately credit card over phone.
My response, ah no payment was made, check was sent. They say no, I say yes. They say your service will be cut off and then I get transferred to someone else. They can 't tell what happened to my check. Explain situation to this person, they will look into it and get back to me, they don't get back to me so I get another phone call from collections. Repeat process, talk to a new someone else and once again they will look into it. Still no explanation of what might of happened to my check. In the mean time, go to the bank, request a copy of canceled Bell check. Can't get copy of cancelled, it does not exist. Huh, it's not NSF. It has not been cancelled, funds are still in my account huh.
New phone call from collections. I decide what the heck, this is just annoying, take their option B and make new payment at a Bell store. Now this, one would think should end some of the issues, Bell's anyway not mine ah but no. Without another phone call, my Bell services were cut off. Yes cut off after payment had been made twice, so now I can't phone out but Bell can phone me, they do more demands, more transferring, more explaining, more time wasted, more billing interest, penalties and it just did not stop. As it turned out Bell had received payment, sent payment to some fund that did not accredit my account and I never did find out what happened to the first check. Round 3: the same as round one currently on going, why am I still a Bell customer?

I had been a loyal customer with BELL MOBILITY for many years, close to 10, and heard of a much better deal with another carrier and ended up switching my number to the carriers as they could not match package for dollar value. Had a family plan with 5 phones originally and after my departure and my 2 eldest getting their own acct, only 2 family members still remained. After another year, I inquired about better rates but same story. Called customer service (cs), heard that recording again that this conversation could be recorded for security and training or some such, to confirm that the contract for the remaining 2 phones had fully expired - was told then it had been for sometime; but if I choose to close acct I must pay balance of month then an full extra months payment as penalty. Nice. Same as a hard ** kick after I had kissed the royal ring heading out the door...
Asked again what other charges Big Bell could dream up (I heard the cs representative tap away on this keyboard) and it was confirmed again that only the remaining month and the month penalty. As the other carrier's deal was about to lapse and I knew what I had to pay off with Bell and would be saving a fair amount of money I made a decision based on the information I was told from that Bell cs rep. Shortly thereafter I ported those numbers over and everyone here was happy. Could only pay $100 of $148 Bell bill I received and would pay the balance next month.
Then the bill came again the next month, opened it to pay that $48 but ohhhh... I now had a bill for ~$600 with no explanation. So I call Bell. I ask if all conversions are recorded and Mason (her name for that day?) confirms yes all are recorded. After wasting more of my time calling, waiting, asking for the most senior manager re-telling all the events/conversations and being punted around - it was disclosed there was a phone renewed some 3-4 months back. I honestly didn't know or sign off on that transaction. How does the acct holder not get contacted when something like this happens? Nevertheless why wasn't I informed of that? I also would not have cancelled if I was aware of this this.
I told that cs manager the above transpired events and asked for a transcribed copy of my original conversation with the cs rep. If I was told and erred by any cs rep I will pay what I owe. I was also told to just pay the $600 and then fight for it. I asked if she would pay it and I'll pay it back when I get it.... Just let me hear the conversation between that cs and myself is all I'm asking.
So since today I have been called by Bell 3-5 times a day until I blocked all the calling numbers that had no information why I owed it. It has gone to collections now and chipping away at my credit score. I would like to invoice them for my time and costs here. How do I get any further against a big bullying Bell machine??

He called back to inform them of their error and they reinstated the service the next day; however, the quality was significantly diminished. Once he moved, he paid the next bill, assuming it was the last one. Bell continued to bill him. When they called him, he advised them of their error. The calls did not stop, nor did the bills with the amounts increasing each month. In addition, Bell began calling the new owners of his previous home.
My parents' stress increased as Bell advised they would be using a collection agency. They are already dealing with severe health issues and this has affected their wellness. Every conversation with Bell continued in the same vein. Four months later, when I visited, another such call came in. I spoke with the caller, could not understand a word she said, could not barely hear her and it was my impression that this was some sort of crank call or some sort of scam as the caller seemed vague and unprofessional.
I called Bell following my visit and explained the situation. The staff person I spoke with was very cooperative, told me it was Bell's mistake and erased all charges. She told me that my parents would not be receiving any more paperwork and that the calls would soon stop. I cannot yet attest to this as not enough time has elapsed. I asked her why, when my parent explained the situation to the callers, nothing was resolved at that point. She advised that the callers are their collection agency and their job is to "remind," not to take things further. How was my parent supposed to know this? He was not advised of this when he made his explanations. A lot of stress was created by Bell's poor treatment of their customer and even of the new home owner who was not connected to this affair. My family feels that their reputation in the community has been harmed by Bell's calls to the new homeowner. My parent made no mistakes. He advised Bell in advance of his plans, yet all his communications fell on deaf ears.

After frustrating, tedious and time consuming calls to customer support, supervisor, manager, again new offer or rates offered and promised that bills would be fine from now on... Again the next bill, same problem, the rate offered doesn't even get mentioned on the bills, overcharged again... same routine every time... Finally I am, my sister is, few of my friends and also my parents are all cancelling and going with a different company... Feel so harassed and cheated of money and time by Bell.

I called Bell Canada as our Modem is not working and wanted to know what should I do aside from rebooting it. The wait time is extremely long, when I finally got somebody, they told me to call when I am at home (I guess he wanted me to do something with the modem). So when I got home I called and again the wait time is extremely long. I finally got an East Asian guy who cannot help me at all and has to put me on hold just to get an address of where I should bring the modem to and had been waiting for a long time when I realized he just hanged up on me. This is unacceptable and Bell should really train their staff before putting them on Technical Support. This incident happened on January 16, 2014 in the evening between 7-8:30 pm.
I finally called again and a gentleman named Sam helped me with all my queries and told me where is the nearest Bell I can go to. Now, Bell should train their Technical Support team to be like Sam. Too bad I was not able to get that incompetent guy's name but if Bell is really recording messages, then they should track this down and give the guy a thorough training. I give excellent reviews If I know somebody really deserves to get it. I was impressed by Sam that I asked for his name and to acknowledge his help to write down a good review for him as you seldom get somebody over the phone who is courteous and who know what they are doing.

Today, between 12 and 5pm EST, Bell was to install Bell Fibe TV/Internet and phone from my existing Bell services. At 3pm, I called the representative from Vaughan Mills who sold the service to me and he had me call 310-BELL, which I did and the recording stated my service was to installed from 12-5pm today. At 5:05pm, I called 310-BELL and spoke to a female who said that since there was a block on the order, the technician automatically codes these and does not do them as he does not contact the customer either. Apparently, the female said that the way the order was created by the person in the mall caused this block which Bell would have picked up eventually.
I asked the female to make sure she communicates this issue of not having the tech contact the client to her manager and they need to be more responsive and advise clients, not wait for the client to contact them when they don't show up. To top things off further, I told her to cancel the Fibe service and she put me on hold which I was then disconnected..... GREAT SERVICE! Stay away from BELL. They can't schedule their staff and certainly don't care about the customer. CRAP SERVICE AS ALWAYS. I contacted the mall representative and he is looking into the problem. This is a half day of my time and work wasted and BELL should compensate me. Let's see what they have to say......

When you call Bell Satellite they promise you and you get 140 channels. What they don't tell you is that half are French. The other half repeat themselves. You get some American stations but they are based in Boston. I don't care about the weather or news in Boston. I would like local stations from Buffalo where the weather affects my plans... You get the basic channels, then you get the HD version, then you get the same from another time zone. They do not inform you of all this when they promise you everything and upsell you to get you to sign on. There should be something that can be done about the way this is done.

I was a customer of Rogers for many years and recently switched over to Bell because of their FIBE TV and a few incentives. There have been so many complications with our second-line (we had our calls - which were for business - blocked) and, instead of the plan that we had signed up for (unlimited US/Canada calls) we were charged insane amounts for long-distance. Long-story-short, we were transferred all over the place and kept on the phone for hours (not to mention the disruption to our work with not being able to call out) and made all kinds of promises. The following day, no one was aware of any of the promises (an account credit and a reversal of all charges) that were made to us or changes to the account. The agent had promised to leave detailed notes and send e-mail confirmation. As a new customer of Bell Canada, I am very frustrated. This has impacted our business and Bell is completely unsympathetic. Their call-center representatives are incompetent and unprofessional. It is even ironic, that on several calls, the phone connection was so poor that I could barely hear the agent on the other side of the call!

I have been dealing with Bell Canada for years, and must say their tech-support is awful. My issue today however is that Bell apparently changed my account number without any notice. After getting a letter saying I had not made any payments and my service would be cut off I learned from my bank that they have received hundreds of complaints regarding the same issue. I have been making all my bill payments online for years and now I am told they have not received any payments, even though payments are directly debited from my account online. My bank assured me that the payments went out the day I made them. I called Bell. The first customer service person put me on hold then hung up. The second person finally advised that all my payments were going to a different account. They had changed my account number (along with thousands of others) without notice and had to manually transfer the accounts. This could have been avoided by a simple e-mail or letter advising me that they had changed my account. I updated my account through my bank website but now I have a blot on my account. Can't anything be done?

I have changed to lower packages but have noticed that the rates are still increasing. So in the end, I cancelled the services and went to Rogers. I had over paid them by $37.98 and have been waiting for them to refund me my money. Each time I contacted them, I was told it will take 3 to 4 weeks. So far, I have contacted them 5 times now. It's now 6 months since I cancelled the account. Every time I called them, they were giving me the runaround and telling me that it takes 3- 4 weeks for me to get my cheque, which is long overdue. Each time I call they seem to be extending the 3-4 weeks period from the time I would call instead of from the time I cancelled.
It seems like they are putting in as new and would tell me that it will take that long to get but will not acknowledge that I was told from June that it will be 3-4 weeks. 3-4 weeks isn't 6 months. I have asked them to transfer me to their Supervisor and was told that they (Supervisor) are not available at the moment. What kind of business does Bell operate? Just because it's $37.98 to them it's nothing, but to me its a lot. It's my hard earned money. Their customer service is **. I have been with Bell for nearly a decade now... When my child and I moved in to my previous dwelling, I had Bell Phone and Internet and the price was for a basic landline phone and internet. My Mom lives in the U.S so I was offered unlimited U.S long distance for $10 which I thought was great... at the time. Basically my Bill fluctuated. It fluctuated in spite of an unlimited long distance plan and I had no frills, meaning, no call display, no voicemail, no call forwarding and the lowest amount they ever Billed me was $65!... Why and how it changed from month to month was NEVER explained despite my inquiry.
Then came the internet to which because of some unexplained credit they said I had obtained that allowed me to have 155 GB per month which was more than I at the time would use but I was not complaining because it is better to have more than not so much because that it when you risk going over the limit and then paying out you (bleep). It has been over 4 years now that I no longer have Bell Phone. I found a cell provider that gives me a fantastic rate and that is with Unlimited US and Canada long distance, call display. voicemail. international texting SMS and MMS, unlimited incoming and outgoing calls, call forwarding, etc... Music downloads, data, etc. for $35.00 and it NEVER EVER changes.
I now moved as of April and I contacted Bell a month in advance, spent an hour and a half with a rep to discuss my options and my budget, and I had made it clear that I did not want to spend more than $100.00 a month because I am single mother, battling Metastatic Breast Cancer now for 7 yrs and doing quite well I might add, but regardless I am on Medical Disability so on a tight budget. The rep swore to me that I would not being paying more. He said the total would be $97.63. My problem is this and this was the issue in my previous place... I NEVER seem to come out on top with Bell. I get 2 benefit checks in the month and I told them this.
Any service I receive, whether it be Hydro or my Cell Bill sends 1 bill a month and I pay one time a month. But not Bell. I pay ALWAYS in the 1st week of the month as I get a check directly deposited in my account on the 1st and the 20th. I always pay $100 a month and sometimes more thinking as with other companies that eventually I will get credit off my account, but with Bell that never happens. The way they are Billing, I always end up owing a month because they bill me again on the 6th or the 7th and the due date is on the 26th... so basically I pay on the 1st... They Bill me on the 6/7 so By the time I can pay again, it looks like I am a month behind.
I have spoken to people at Bell countless times to beg them to change the Billing date to the 1st of the month and they wont. I've made a point to pay a couple of months ago twice for the sole purpose of bringing my bill down to $0... and it's happening again, but this time I have a problem with my modem and in the process of waiting for a new one and even that they have messed up and I am left having to track down a Modem M.I.A. because no one can get their stories straight. But that is another problem all together, lol.
I have proof of every payment that I have made to Bell but despite my efforts in being diligent in paying my bills, it would seem that I keep owing more and more to them, strange when I can never go over my usage since I have an unlimited usage plan, so how can the bill always change is what I also would like to know... Please can somehow help. I know that there is something shamefully wrong with the way they are Billing me. It cannot be possible to always owe when I always pay what I owe.

OCT 5th - a second agent from Bell called to win me back from switching to Primus. The first agent called me 2 weeks earlier in late Sept. Agent #2 promised discounts on home phone, Internet and Satellite to stay with Bell. I asked 2 or 3 times to confirm that there was no expiry on this promotion and he said no, every time. I asked if Bell would come and move a satellite cable for me at no charge to another room in my house to keep me with Bell and if so I would accept the total offer and he confirmed yes. He said (agent 2) we would send an email confirmation to me on Saturday, it never came.
I called Bell today and spoke with a customer service agent about the pricing. She could not find the details quoted form the agent I spoke with. She transferred me to her manager (Agent 3) because she said there were expiration dates on the promotions and she could not help me with that. The manager (agent 3) was very helpful and said he could not provide me with these services with no expiry on the promotions (as promised by Agent 2) only a 24 month expiry on the telephone and the TV and internet would be 12 months. He mentioned that agent #2 could lose his job for this and my reply was simply, "We are all responsible for our own actions." I said agent 2 that called me lied to get me to switch back to Bell. I had this happen 3 years ago as well. He said he would have to review the phone conversation regarding the number of times I asked the agent to confirm that there was no expiry when in fact there was. I also asked him to check the conversation regarding Bell coming to move a cable for free which there were no notes for.
In the end the last agent confirmed all the discounts as promised by the agent who called me Sat Oct 5 (with a slight variation of $3 which would be a price increase starting in NOV). The agent also confirmed that Bell would come to my house and run a new cable to the other side of my house. They would charge $75 for that and as soon as I got the bill. Bell would credit me for the charge on my bill. Overall I feel that Bell did not make me happy. I am not satisfied with them. I was not offered anything for my loyalty in the way of additional promotions, hardware credits etc. This is the second time in 3 years where I have been pissed off at Bell. Tried to switch to another company and then had a Bell agent lie to me to entice me back.
I asked for at least 24 months expiry on my internet and Satellite as partial compensation for the other agent lying to me but that was not available. On September 28th, 2012, my wife ported her phone number to Fido and canceled the service with Bell. Then on October 27th, the "Last bill" from Bell came in with an amount of $3.58 which we paid in full on November 6th, 2012. This amount of $3.58 was the remaining balance after she ported her number to Fido. The thing is that somehow the port number department at Bell didn't cancel her account and they keep it active in their system, which turned out in more bills had been generated under my wife's account. From our understanding my wife had finished her agreement with Bell as she was using her phone number on Fido network since Sept 28th. It was not until last month (August 2013) that we received a call from the Collector Office from Bell to tell us that my wife had a pending balance of $325.45 because of unpaid bills since November 2012!!! And this unpaid balance was affecting her credit records.
We told to this person that was impossible and it must be an error because we had cancelled that number on Bell almost a year ago, and she told us no, that the number was active on Bell until April 2013 and as a consequence we owed Bell the months of Nov. 2012, Dec. 2012 and Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr 2013 plus the interest. After knowing this we immediately called Bell Mobile customer services and after waiting almost 20 minutes for an agent to pick up the phone, this first agent didn't know how to help us resolved this mistake and put us on hold for another 20 minutes just to come back to tell us that we had to call another Bell department as the account was cancelled. So we called that department. After several tries someone picked up the phone and we had to explain her everything. Then she put us on hold for 30 minutes. Then another agent picked up the line and asked us what we needed and I had to explain to her again everything.
This new agent put us on hold again for almost 35 minutes when finally she came back and told us that she would need to call Bell porting number department. We had to wait another 15 minutes. Then she came back apologizing and recognizing that there was a mistake by the porting number department, and that the only thing she could do was to give us a credit for the $325.45 dollars in order to clear the outstanding balance, and then my wife credit record would be cleaned, but anyway we would need to pay $83.80 for account closure. I said to myself wtf! whatever I just wanted to finish this process with Bell after almost 2 hour dealing with incompetent customer service agents. Finally we could resolve the problem and the account was cancelled. Lesson learned from this is that you can't take for granted that a service provider has cancelled your account. Now we're going to be more careful and follow up a month after the service cancel request we made. And of course never use Bell services.

I paid for until March 2013. I was in fact overcharged by 15 dollars on my last bill, which I had to pay in order to get my deposit back. Now I am owed 63 dollars and some change. I start the process of getting that back in April 2013. It is now October 2013 and I have still not received my money. I must have made dozens of phone calls, logged hours upon hours in time, in an attempt to receive my money.
The policy of Bell Aliant is that once the account is paid off, they will cut you a check which you may receive in 6 to 8 weeks?!? It's been 6 months and I am still fighting for my money. I feel they just expect me to give up, but I will not. I am now committed to getting the word out there about them. They have zero customer service and obviously no accountability. It would seem they have a history of questionable billing practices, and one cannot help but wonder how much money they defraud from the consumer 60 dollars at a time? Not to mention the cost in terms of time and energy wasted? It is outrageous that this company is allowed to function in the manner to which they are accustomed. And to all of us who actually give them our business, shame. Is this the worst company in Canada? In my opinion, yes. Why do we Canadians tolerate this? Why are there no controls on this company? Sister is the sole beneficiary of her sister's estate. Bell Mobility demands a death certificate in order to cease automatic withdrawals from the joint account ($31.11 per month). In order to achieve this which had to be requested from the law firm handling the estate (90-year-old survivor has no access to a fax machine - Bell Mobility tells her to fax the document to a specific number. In order to cancel account. death certificate sent by fax from law firm.
Statements still arriving by mail monthly and $33.11 withdrawn automatically every month (September 2012 to January 2013) from a Royal Bank account King Street, Saint John. Death certificate sent again in early January from the law firm. In January 2013, the December bill arrives at the address of the dead sister and money withdrawn again for a cell phone that is non-existent and the number appears to be reassigned to Jennifer "someone". Once more call to Bell Mobility agent by a niece and POA. Once more death certificate is faxed to a number given by the agent with a promise that as soon as it is received, the automatic withdrawals from the bank account inappropriately taken from the bank account will be reimbursed.
February 2013: Bill again arrives with a notice of $33.11 withdrawal from the bank account. 90-year-old surviving sister, with whom the account was joint, is taken to the Royal Bank to remove the automatic withdrawal authorization as this appears to be the only way to stop the bills and withdrawals. By now, the 90-year-old is out $160-$180.00. The Bell Mobility agents (2) and supervisors (2) insist there has been no death certificate received despite a law firm that has proof they sent it three times. In repeated discussions in February 2013, 2 agents, 2 supervisors, 1 Montreal Executive Office agent all repeat. "The only solution is to have a death certificate sent again," says the Bell mobility agent 1, agent 2, supervisor 1 and supervisor 2.
This situation is absolutely insane...the Mobility number in question is non-operative now for several months. The Bell Mobility business office is still charging a dead woman for a cell phone that is not operative. At this point, I see this as harassment of the 90-year-old sister of a dead woman by the repeated bills that upset her every time they come and the payments taken from the Royal Bank are quite appropriately called theft. I am told that the staff is powerless to do anything until once again a death certificate be faxed. It is our process and needs to be followed for us to resolve this.
We refused to get another death certificate sent. Another Bell Mobility Executive office staff (Montreal office) was invited to look up obituaries in Saint John, New Brunswick, for November 2011 and see the death notice for the sister in the Telegraph Journal. The law office has the evidence that the ongoing error is Bell's problem as the death certificates keep going into a black hole in the Bell communication system. Two people (a lawyer, the POA for the two sisters) have spent 5-7 hours each trying to resolve this extremely upsetting situation.
In February, 2013, in discussion with Terrence **, Customer Relations Associate - Bell Executive Office, the agent offered that the October to January withdrawals would be reimbursed to the elderly lady's bank account. This offer came after the agent looked up the sister's obituary in the local newspaper as we refused to send another death certificate. Two checks totaling 5 months of payments were received by the surviving sister in March 2013.
Bell Mobility department clearly does not have communication structures that maintain accurate documentation and provide information between sectors of the company. If Bell Mobility were owed money, one might understand this nonsense, but the corporation owed the senior approximately $160.00 for a cell phone number that has been cancelled for 5 months now. The billing from the law firm for the hours of work spent on what should have been a simple resolution remains un-invoiced. In April 2013, Ms. Susan ** from the office of Karen Sheriff, President of Bell Aliant called and apologized for the challenges we have encountered but was unable to do anything other than apologize and reaffirm the company's process of canceling a cell phone.
Jean ** from the Montreal office called and reaffirmed that nothing more would be done further to the reimbursement of the 5 months payments. Bell's position received April 23rd, 2013 is attached. Please note on my appended comments the inaccuracies of your company's response to the CRTC complaint. This response further proves my contention that maintenance of accurate records of client calls, personal documents such as death certificates, and inter-office communication is completely in disarray and ineffective which causes only further harassment of a client as has happened in this instance.

July 8 2:40PM Retention Agent - Disputing $165.00 early upgrade "I was disconnected". July 8 2:50PM Retention Agent - Disputing $165.00 early upgrade... requested to speak to supervisor. July 8 3:40PM Supervisor advised how he cannot help in any way. I told the agent that I have been a Bell customer with home bundle (23 years), paying over $200.00 per month + Bell Mobility customer for 25 months. Surely he could help make me happy... Agent - "Thank you sir, but nothing I can do."
July 8 I went to the store in agreement to get replacement a iPhone 4S ($29.95 + $165.00 early upgrade) to continue with the 11-month contract. I WAS ADVISED I WOULD HAVE TO SIGN ANOTHER 3X YEAR TERM. I refused and left the store after speaking to Bell 3X with different Bell Loyalty agents. I took the phone to a local dealer... fixed and look forward to placing all of my business with another provider. This is pure insult to a loyal customer who simply needed a service solution. Bell is the lowest of the totem pole, and I cannot wait to pull my business, my neighbor's business, and all of my friends who have kindly allowed me to vent such an inconsiderate example of HOW NOT TO TREAT A CUSTOMER.

Bell, and companies like Shaw Direct are nothing more than robber barons. Consumers would be well advised to read all of the fine print carefully and inquire about all fees that will be charged.
I had been a Shaw Direct customer for more than 9 years, but that didn't prevent them from charging me an additional 30 days worth of service when I decided to discontinue their service. They can turn on channels almost instantly, or off, so what is the deal with that other than to jerk the customer around further? I also decided to disconnect my Bell Aliant telephone and DSL internet. They also charged me for another 30 days, and on top of that, $80 for ending the "contract" early.
Interestingly, when I made arrangements with EastLink to change my services, Bell was quick to call and offer me $99 Fiber Optic. Their telemarketers then called repeatedly until only a few days before the date of disconnection. The extremely rude, arrogant, and aggressive telemarketer then offered me $99 for two years if I would stay with Bell Aliant. I then informed him that I didn't like the bill I would be receiving after their special offer was completed and that was why I was changing services. They then argued with me despite the fact that EastLink's services were clearly less expensive in my area.
In light of the $99 two-year offer, how can they justify an $80 disconnection fee which they say is for damages? In what way are they damaged if they are prepared to offer Internet, TV, and Telephone for $99? Why isn't it just one low fee all the time? The extra fee didn't dissuade me from changing to another provider but their typical bill certainly does, so the extra fees are counterproductive.
As consumers, we are left with little option when we engage the services of the various providers as they all have these extra fees which abuse the pocketbook. It's either, "Play ball with us," they say or "Don't play at all." More regulation of what they are allowed to charge should be enacted. I'd be inclined now to review all this documentation in the future and attempt to negotiate a harder with them to secure waiver of these extra fees. They don't mind being rude when it suits them.
I take issue also with the TV product being offered. There is so much repeated content on TV. The same shows are repeated over the ranges of channel bundles; it is difficult to get anything worth watching. In the end, the consumer might as well just pick the lowest bundle of channels. Shows like Discovery Canada repeat content from shows of previous years, with one or two new items which look like they got picked from the headlines of Google Science News. Frankly, I get more science news from the full range of news at Google/News/Science. The former host of Discovery, Jay Ingram, is sorely missed.
The lesson here is that big companies are being allowed to get away with far too much. The product is not very good for what you get, and still they try to lock the consumer in and restrict them from making choices in the consumer's own best interest.

For at least the last 3-4 years, I have been paying Bell Mobility for a plan with unlimited text messaging for my teenage daughter. She sends thousands of texts every month to friends all over the world. Suddenly now, we are being charged extra for international text messaging. The number we are being charged extra for makes no sense because it does not reflect the reality of the number of international texts which were actually sent (ie: 29 for $5.95, when the real number was probably in the hundreds or thousands).
I have had two calls with customer service, and they tell me that my unlimited package does not include international messages. For this, I have to pay extra. I tell them this is not fair because, in the past, unlimited included everywhere. They tell me they may credit the extra charge on my current bill, but I have to allow them to add an international text plan to my account, or there will be extra charges. I said, "No! Why should I pay extra for something that was included in my contract?" I am disgusted. This is a scam to allow them to gouge more money from me. My daughter's phone is under contract for another 2 1/2 years, so they know I am stuck having to pay what they dictate. I need others to join with me to stop this robbery!

In February 2013, I moved to a newly-constructed home; when I called the Bell service line to relocate my phone/internet services, I was told that my new home had the option of Fiber service to the home, an upgrade over the technical limitations of my previous home. After several hour-long calls to the general customer service line, I was told that there was a great deal - 3 months free of Fibe TV, and after 3 months, the full bundle price would be around $130. First, I could keep my existing phone number, then I couldn't, then I could, and finally I couldn't, but they would put up a recording for callers to my original line that the phone number had changed (despite several calls about this issue, this never took place). My order was "misplaced" three times.
Someone came to the house, couldn't install the service because they needed someone else to re-run the fiber optic conduit - annoying, but that happens; the service tech was great, but said I would need to call the 310-Bell line to set up an appointment. I did this, was given an appointment for 4 days later. I stayed home from work, and no rep came to the house. I called to complain; they had no record of my appointment. This rep told me that they would have someone contact me to reschedule. I waited 2 days - no call. I called in, this time reaching an office in Quebec City - the rep had no record of my account or order at all. To that rep's credit, he sorted it out and arranged to have someone show up in 2 days to hook everything up.
Now, 4 months later, I'm told by Bell Collections that I have 2 accounts - 1 for phone/internet, 1 for TV, and I've only been paying the one for phone/internet. I called and spoke with the Fibe TV customer service, who informed me that the "bundle" I received in the beginning was not bundled, but two separate accounts and I didn't receive 3 months of free TV service, but rather 3 months of free TMN/HBO/Superchannel. After the 3 months, it went up to a total of about $150 per month. With the other bill, my services with Bell total about $240 per month. This is ridiculous! I would never have agreed to the TV service had I thought it was that much - I had been told $130 for all 3 services, which is reasonable. Now I'm trying to figure out who I can talk to about this - the rep I spoke with today was nowhere near helpful.

I have engaged with Bell back in November for service of cable and internet. The deal was a 24-month contract with 6 months free service. Bell came to install while I had a friend wait for them. When I came home, I was mortified to see my base board (with over 100 staples and my floor with tape damage) has been done. Next the first month ends. I am getting billed for services I did not request. I called Bell and the said they will take care of it. Next month I got the bill and again, charges with no credits and so on until month #4. Every month same story. No recourse of previous conversations and the bill grows.
Finally, enough is enough. I decided to cancel. Almost a week later, I got a call from Bell customer service to ask about the reasons of cancellation. When I told them the reason, the answer is "Oh we are sorry. How about we reconnect you again?" When I said, "Don't you think it's a little too late?" The answer was basically, "Okay then, we will charge you $299 for disconnection." When I replied that the contract stated that the disconnection is $200, his reply was "We can charge whatever we want." My reply was, "Then I will have to escalate it even if I need to go to court." His answer was "by all means." Warning: Do not engage with Bell. Poor, poor customer service.

I switched everything over from Rogers in April. I signed up for Fibe and high speed internet. I did it at the beginning of the month and everything seemed to be moving quite smoothly. When Bell came to install my internet and Fibe, they were there for 4 hours. They told me they were having problems and would come back the next day. They came back the next day for several more hours (I had to take this day off work). They said they were still having issues and would be back in a few days. They made an appointment. I took work off and they never showed up. I called and they rescheduled for Good Friday. My family was in town visiting and everyone went out. I stayed home in order to be there for Bell. Once again, they didn't show up and they didn't call. After hours on the phone, I was told that there was a problem with the infrastructure in my house and I agreed to ask my landlord if I could get a satellite. He agreed and I called back.
When I called back, I was told there was no need for that because they figured out how to install Fibe. Because I had been treated badly by customer service and was having so many problems with them, they offered me a great deal. I accepted and we moved on. Suddenly, no one could find this deal in the notes. I had to call numerous times, speak to numerous people and finally, someone agreed to give me the deal and send it to me in an email. Thank God because once I started receiving my bills, I was being charged full price. Not only that, but all the correspondence on email and being sent in the mail were in French. At first I thought it was a mistake, so I called and asked them to change everything into English. They said no problem. This took almost 3 months to fix. As far as I am aware, I have the right to receive everything in English. That was only the beginning.
In April, I was told that if I changed my phone over, I would be able to get one bill. So I got a Bell phone in May. At the store, I was told it wouldn't be a problem. When I got my bill, it wasn't one bill so I called in and they said they don't do it at the store; that I actually have to call in myself. So I said I wanted one bill. I have called every month about this and I still don't have it. Now I am being told that because my account is overdue, I don't qualify for it. My account is overdue because I am disputing charges and they said once I pay them, I have agreed to all the charges and they are legitimate. When I called to change my numbers on my phone for my FAB10 plan, I was told that it was $5.00 to do over the phone. A charge that isn't mentioned anywhere in writing nor was it mentioned when I got the phone.
When I got my phone in May, I said that my boyfriend and I travel to Northern Ontario (Sault Ste. Marie, Kenora, Dryden, Thunder Bay). I was told that this wouldn't be a problem because they had full coverage in those areas, but did have some bad spots between them. I said okay. Before we left to go to Kenora for Christmas, I called Bell to make sure we would have service, because it was a long drive and I wanted to make sure I could stay in contact with my family and learn where the spots with no service were to plan accordingly. They said they had service in all the cities. We left on December 18 and had no service from Sault Ste. Marie to Dryden (with the exception of being in Thunder Bay). It was storming and we were without service for more than 18 hours on the TransCanada highway.
I called Bell and they said they had lost service in all those areas, but were rebuilding towers. I wouldn't have gotten the phone if I had been aware of this. Bell representatives said that in their contract, they do not have to guarantee service at anytime and that if something happens, it is still the customer's responsibility to pay the monthly charges or pay the cancellation fee. How is it possible that under contract, customers are expected to pay for services even if the services aren't offered? Bell didn't send any notification saying that they no longer offer service in these area. When I asked them about it, they said they had sent it to customers who lived in the area only. Cell phones are for traveling and the TransCanada highway is a huge part of Ontario. Finally, when supervisors called me back when a call has been escalated, even though the call is recorded, I was never informed of that fact.

The advertisement of Bell is wrong and is a scam. They lure people to get the service, ripping them off with false advertisement. Here in this ad, they offer Fibe TV and internet for only $40 for the first 6 months. They make you think you get TV and internet for $40 for the first 6 months. In reality, when you get the first bill, it is $40 for Fibe TV and $58 for the internet, plus tax, plus some other hidden fees; you end up with a 120-dollar bill. This is a scam!

In November 2012, I sent my phone off for repair because it had frozen during an update so it was bricked as the Bell technical support agent told me and said that I should take the phone back to my local store to have it shipped and repaired as it was still under warranty. Three weeks later, I received a phone call to tell me that I could now go and pick up my cell phone. When I got to the store the following day, an employee went to the backroom to get me my phone. When he came out of the backroom, I noticed that my cell phone was only wrapped in a piece of paper (actually the repair contract). He then gave me my phone.
To my disbelief, my phone was scratched the entire length of the screen (the phone has always been in an otterbox defender case from the first second I owned the phone and the only time I had taken it out the case was to send it out for repair) so I refused to accept the phone. And then I started to ask the employee what he was going to do about the situation. The only answer he had was that he would have to speak to the owner first and that he could not do anything at that moment in time. Not happy with his answer, I kept pushing until he finally decided to call the owner, as he worked in a different store (Bell stores are pretty much all franchises).
After about an hour passed in the store and about 4 phone calls to the owner, he then told me that I had to go in person to meet the owner and show him the phone. Once I got to the store where the owner was, he verified the phone and even the case to see if he could match up any scratches between the case and the phone (the owner even asked a second employee to verify the case and phone). Finally about 10 minutes later, they finally concluded that the scratch could not have been there before (I had been telling them that for the last 2 hours). Their answer to the problem was that they were going to get in touch with the Samsung representative in Quebec to see what they could do to help.
So I was somewhat happy with the answer they gave me because I thought it would have been a fast fix seeing that it was their error. We are now the middle of January and still no phone. I have been to the store about 15 times since and every time, they make up a new reason why they can't fix and/or replace my phone that they damaged. I have called customer service and the retentions department multiple times and still nobody can help because they keep telling me that because it is a franchise that they have no control over their decisions.
So being without my phone for more than two months when it is the problem I find completely ridiculous for the consumer to pay for their errors. When Bell loan you a phone, they ask for a $100 deposit in case you break or damage their phone which in understandable, but what about when they damage your phone? No help whatsoever! Never ever will I go back with Bell Mobility or any other of their 3000 subdivisions!

I had another call and the person could not find the account. Now, in January, I scheduled installation for Friday, Jan. 11. No one showed up. I am now on the phone and I am told the order was cancelled and I must get a different #. I also am now told that my free worldwide calling is actually only for land lines and something about Italy. This is outrageous and should not be tolerated. If there were other choices in Niagara, I would do so. Mind you, the alternative which is to have a cell phone (which I have from Rogers) is worse because many calls get dropped in the Niagara area and reception is bad to poor. So much for technology!

Poor Customer Service - I did an online credit check on myself because my wife and I were looking into buying a home. When I did my check, nothing showed up as out of the ordinary, so we went to our bank and started the process. At the bank, we were asked about a Bell Service that showed up as owing them money. We went home and went through some old mail trying to find the issue mentioned. After a couple of hours and no success, I called Bell and asked them what was going on. Talking with a person from Bell Canada, they had no idea what was the issue also because I had no account with them. After about an hour, the person finally tracked it down and I paid it on the spot with a credit card for which I have a receipt saying Bell Canada was paid that amount.
I was promised while on the phone with them, I would get an emailed receipt and a paper receipt sent to me. After about a month and no receipts sent, I called back and again was promised a receipt of both types (paper and email). Today, again, I still have not received anything from Bell. On today's date, 12.27.2012, I called back again asking for a supervisor this time and got one after about a half hour wait, explained once again the whole story and asked for another receipt. I was told Bell does not provide receipts for this. I explained to them, by law when something is paid for they have to provide one to which she changed the story and said it went to collections and I explained I have no idea what they were talking about because I did not receive anything from said collection company (Allied Collections) and I would have to contact them to get the receipt.
I replied by explaining, “I do not know who they are, I have not dealt with this company and would not.” I paid Bell Canada and want them to do whatever they have to get a receipt sent to me showing that I have paid them off and they would take this off my credit bureau to which she kept telling me they did not care and I would have to call them myself. After numerous refusals from me, she finally said she would call them. When she came back, she decided to 3-way the call and tried to force me to deal with this and I again refused. The man at Allied hung up on me because I refused to deal with him. I am sick and tired of not having a say in my personal affairs! I am sick and tired of nothing being done when companies treat customers with such bad service. I want my credit bureau cleaned up and was doing my part to do this and treated like crap by a company I got rid of years ago because of crappy service and I can see after numerous complaints, they still get to do whatever they want and nothing gets done.
We, as the customers, have to have a voice and should stand against them and say, "No more!" Consumer Affairs should be acting more on our behalf and doing harder, heavier dealings with them to fix this long and constant problem with companies like Bell to stop this! Receipt Law & Legal Definition: "A receipt is a written acknowledgment by the recipient of payment for goods, payment of a debt or receiving property from another." Why is it so hard to get one for a payment I made? What gives Bell the right to say, "We do not give receipts." Why?!

I am writing in regards to the pathetic service I received from Bell Canada today. I am sorry to say, but it was the worst customer service experience of my life! I was not happy with the system access fee Bell was charging me since past two years, so I called to get that cancelled. I called today, 22nd of December 2012, at 2:05pm and spoke to an agent who advised she could not cancel this. So she passed on the call to another agent named Joshua. Upon listening to me, Joshua said he could offer me a better plan in which system access fee won't be charged and also I would get unlimited local minutes and unlimited text and that to get this, I would have to extend my contract for one more year. He assured that all other features remain the same as my current contract (which included some promotional features as well). All this he has offered me in $56. I was not happy with the extension to my plan for one more year, but then I agreed on a condition that he will also add 100 Canada-wide minutes to the plan. So he summed up all the services to $57!
My upgrade with my current contract was due in April 2013. So I asked him if that will have any effect on it, and he clearly said no. I also asked him to double check this with his supervisor. He put me on hold then came back and said he has received an email from his supervisor to confirm that this won't affect on my due hardware upgrade. I agreed to this. He put me on hold for quite a long time and then came back to confirm what he has done for me. I repeatedly asked him to confirm that the contract has only been extended for one year and all my current features remain and the minutes/text I will now get are unlimited. He said yes. Now I was expecting an email from Bell to confirm the changes made to my account. As I didn't receive any email, so I logged in to my account. To my surprise, I found that my contract was extended to three more years rather than one that I was told.
I was quite shocked to see this, so I called customer service again. This time, I spoke to an agent named Rebecca. I explained the situation - what happened this morning - and after speaking to her supervisor James, she said, "You can either cancel your contract with Bell or get some features in $27" without listening to my requirements. Anyways, after quite a long and difficult dialogue, she agreed to change the plan end date to one year (as Joshua had told me in the morning). Now, I also asked her to confirm that she has not altered anything else in my account, and she said yes. I insisted to tell me again the features so I should know and she said I get 150 local minutes in the plan! Now this further annoyed me as Joshua had told me it's unlimited local minutes. It was such nerve-wracking for me, and I felt like Bell agents are here to annoy people and not help them!
I then said I was better off with my own plan so just put me back on that, and she said she can't do that. And the only thing I can do is to cancel the contract! Anyways, I wanted to speak to her supervisor or any other colleague, and she refused. She put me on hold a couple of times and was not coming up with any solution for me. The worst on her part was that she put me on hold for 20 minutes before 7pm. She came back at 7pm to say that we have to dial back if I want to speak to other agent. She also said that her supervisor James is not willing to talk and some other supervisor will call in 24 to 72 hours. She then hung up on us at exactly 7pm. I am also planning to complain to CCTS about this matter.

Although the reps kept telling me they would help to correct the situation, they never did. Despite several calls from me to Bell and vice versa to try to resolve this, Bell's only response has been to send my account to a collections agency. Shopping for TV satellite services with Bell Canada is fraught with poor service, policy changes, no advance notice and cancellation of services without your request. I fell behind and lost service so paid it off to get my service back. Wonderful! But then about 2 months into my service I received a $300.00+ bill! I made a complaint to my local MPP and waited. About a month passed and I checked my online 'My Bell' account to find I had a credit applied to my Satellite TV bill and new bill of $96.00. Great! Oh but wait, there's also notice, my service has been cancelled! Now, why, if my account is in good standing, have my services been cancelled? I didn't make this request nor receive notice of such action by mail or email.
I found they change the policy almost monthly. I do believe they removed the option for 'immediate' return of services upon payment, even if you called or use 'live chat' with a representative with your bank information. I highly recommend when applying for Bell Express Vu services, you pay very close attention to your billing and the policy changes. Print out each 'Customer Agreement' found on their site and keep an eye on it.

I requested service from Voice Network and explained that I didn't want to risk losing my phone number. I had been told to have them port it over and so they agreed to give Bell 30 days’ notice. It wasn't done and I wouldn't pay both companies, so they declared, "We won't do business with you." Three weeks beforehand, I phoned them to know when I would get my modem and asked for the date when they had given notice to Bell. They couldn't tell me the date and I found out the day before that they gave notice only when I inquired about it. Too late then but if they had told me when I phoned, there were lots of time to move back the transfer to Voice Network. When they expected me to pay both bills, I wouldn't pay for their mistakes and so "We won't do business with you" was next. You mean I won't have a phone tomorrow? That's correct.
It was too late to cancel the transfer with Bell, the phone and internet had to go to them but the modem had never come and I couldn't use phone or internet. Bell said that it would be no problem to port the phone line back to Bell, "Just phone tomorrow when the phone line is disconnected." When I did that, they transferred me to the loyalty department, which quoted me a price for 12 months + tax, of course. They would have my line back that day. I actually didn't get the phone back till today, after a million mishaps. I was to get it at the end of last week, 5 days ago, but when it didn't happen they said "Loyalty cancelled it." No one ever told me why. Loyalty had given me a price, but when Bell got back the internet (sooner than the phone), the memo with the loyalty reference number had no similarity to the agreement we had. I was suddenly dealing with a department called Win Back, which didn't give the year's contract or the same price. They tried some reasons for this, which made no sense. I have a strong suspicion that loyalty dept is really a come-on and that people go back to Bell with a totally different bill than the one agreed upon.
The same thing happened to me 2 years ago. The sales department offered me a price to do business with Bell for 2 years. A week before it went in, I got a notice telling me to expect increases whenever Bell wanted them. The deal for 2 years is never the price you will get, instead you are notified that they will take increases. The sales lady never mentioned that and it wasn't the agreement. So both sales department and loyalty seem to be come-ons, not the real price at all. The price they quote isn't worth the phone call. In fact when I got that price regarding going to Bell 2 years ago, it was because of another dirty situation. I'd liked TekSavvy's internet and people, and was quick to take their new phone service. But when a mistake appeared on my bill, they said that they and Bell never made accounting mistakes and that I would have to put $89 upfront to have Bell check the phone lines. I'd got a lady down the hall to go to TekSavvy also and I said that her bill was wrong too.
Neither of us had ever heard of the people we were supposed to have phoned - the same people on both our bills! I was pretty sure I'd never see my $89 again and went to Bell rather than pay $89 every time there was a billing error. That's the only way they will correct the error. About a year later, I discovered that the phone calls were placed by a man, who moved in across the hall from me. It was the same name as on our bills. He was angry with Bell for his messed up lines for a month. It does seem as though Bell has a monopoly when it costs us that much to get billing errors corrected! I gathered that Bell charges TekSavvy that much and Bell is always making mistakes. You should hear about the past week. Bell has us over a barrel with that $89 charge every time they blow it. When don't they blow it? I have a strong suspicion that other people also don't get the prices quoted by Bell's sales department and Bell's loyalty department. Don't believe them is my advice.

I apologize for getting back to you a week later than when we conversed, but I was hoping that I would have received the requested documents from Bell. Unfortunately that is not the case. You asked me to write to you and explain my situation. So basically in January of this year, I received a call from your department CBV Collections. I returned the call immediately and gave them my information and was advised that they could not find another outstanding and that I should check in with Bell. I explained to them that I had made all payments to Bell and felt that my account was current. I contacted Bell that same night and they informed me that my account showed nothing in arrears and that they would contact your office and verify this.
The next day, I again received a call from your company. We went through the same things and I contacted Bell after and was again advised that nothing was outstanding and they would call you to straighten out the account. This went on for approximately a week. I even asked on one occasion to speak to a supervisor with Bell because I wanted to escalate the problem and try and resolve the issue. I had several concerns, one being the fact that I now had a red flag on my credit rating. I was informed by your company that no one had involved the Credit Bureau at this point. (I questioned this but was advised that no, it had not gone to them). The Bell representative refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor and when I advised him that I was getting tired of this and was extremely upset with the fact that they refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor.
I informed him that I wished to cancel all my accounts. He advised me that I couldn’t because I had signed a contract. I told him I didn't care and was fine with paying the release fee. He still refused. Up to this point, no one could tell me where this $390 outstanding amount came from. They believed that it was paid and that I was current. I continued to speak with Bell and finally found a supervisor that informed me that the fee came from an old Bell mobility account of mine. My concerns then were why Bell would put me into collections when they had never contacted me to advise me of the arrears. I had never received a bill to this effect. I had advised Bell back in March 2010 (I believe that is the date) that I would be leaving the country and cancelled my account.
At that time my account was up to date. My average bills were in the $60 range. I left the country in the end of March and never used the phone after that. This would be less than one month’s use (again keeping in mind my average bill up to then). I advised Bell of my leaving and asked for my final bill which I sent in to Bell sometime near the end of March which apparently you received. I have never received anything further from you. All my mail was forwarded to my parents’ address up north in Orillia. I did receive mail at this address but not anything from Bell. When I came back to Canada, I signed up again with Bell and took out Bell Phone, Bell Internet and Bell Cable. At no time did anyone mention the outstanding amount apparently owed to Bell. I have been with Bell since June/July 2011. The first time I was made aware of the outstanding amount was a call from CBV Collections.
When I spoke with Bell, I made numerous supervisors and staff aware of this situation on an ongoing basis. I can't tell you how many times I have contacted both Bell and CBV Collections to try and resolve this issue. Bell has promised to send me a copy of this outstanding amount on several occasions but so far I have not received anything. It has been, I believe over a month since they said that they would send out a copy of the outstanding amount. I am not trying to avoid paying but I believe that somewhere there is a problem with your records. I truly believed that when I left Canada, I had paid all my outstanding invoices. Why would I have sent in a payment to Bell for my phone prior to them sending me a bill if I was trying to avoid paying? I contacted Bell and was given the final outstanding balance and it was paid. This issue has been going on for over 3 months. I have always called back CBV Collections whenever one of your representatives has called and then followed up with Bell; spending hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue.
I understand you wanted to get paid, but no one has shown me or been able to satisfy me that I in fact owe this bill. It took Bell and CBV over a week to verify that there was an outstanding account. I was advised once that the money outstanding was because I had cancelled my account prior to it expiring and that the bill was the penalty but I did not have a service account with you only a month-to-month account. I am sending this to Bell Customer Relations as well as my lawyer (who asked for a copy of this). I know that pursuing this through legal channels is too expensive and time consuming. I just want this to go away and have it verified that my name has been cleared from all the Credit Bureaus. I know that I have other options available as I have been involved in the public relations arena for years and have seen how well the internet and such works. I have been more than cordial and have tried to resolve this for over 3 months.
I know that it is a simple problem as one of your people advised me. Just pay and don't worry about it, It's a small amount of money and the credit bureau will work itself out. Do you think this is fair? I subsequently, to sending this letter to Bell and CBV collections, went through a couple more months of aggravation. I spoke to senior supervisors who promised to send me my final bill. This never happened. Finally, one of the supervisors told me if I paid $300 this would all go away. I said yes, just send me the details of what I owed and I would pay it. I waited 7 days and no copy of the bill, but I was still getting calls from the collections agency asking now for $90 instead of the original $390. I phoned Bell back and explained what was going on and he said pay me the $90 now and I will send you the bill in the mail. I paid the $90.
I thought finally it is over but no, they never sent me my final bill. I called back and cancelled my telephone account and my internet account. I still have the satellite account because of this 2-year contract. I vowed never to use this company again. But the story is now starting over again. I received an email from MetCredit advising me I owe $134.99 from early 2010. This is the same timeframe as the last credit bureau's issue. I called up MetCredit and went through the same crap of being told about my credit being put at risk, just pay the money or they will elevate it and damage my credit rating. I asked what it is for and all they can tell me is that I owe Bell Canada this amount. I contacted Bell Canada today and the process is starting over again. They can't find my account and why or what the outstanding amount is for. I will receive a copy of this invoice in 7 - 10 days.
My problem is this: why have I never received any bills from this company after I cancelled their services back in 2010? I gave them forwarding addresses when I left the country which they had because they mentioned the address in our conversations. It was not my residence but my parents’. The first time I hear of anything outstanding is from a collections agency (twice now). I was a current client of theirs with all their services and they had all my information of addresses past and present. I'm fed up with Bell Canada and their treatment of their customers. To this day, I don't even know if the money I paid was owed to them or not. So now I must go through all this crap again of waiting on the phone for sometimes 2 to 3 hours to get up high enough in their process to get some answers. I realize it is being set up this way so that the average person gets fed up and pays as their representatives say ,"It’s only a small amount of money, just pay it."

Two years ago, I phoned Bell planning to cancel my contract because the bills I was receiving were way beyond what the original plan stated they would be. At that time, they coerced me to stay with them by offering me a new iPhone. I, of course, was satisfied for the time being and went to activate the phone. To do so, I was told that I needed to open a new line (which a Bell representative later told me the salespeople automatically earn a $60 commission each time a line is opened), which I did. A couple months later, I moved to Winnipeg but did not change my number because I had the fab 5 or whatever and didn't do too much other calling.
About 6 months went by when one day, I tried to use my phone and it had been cut off. I phoned in and was told that it had been cancelled. No warning or anything. I asked the rep if there were any other obligations that I owed to Bell and if I was committed to Bell in any other way. She responded very clearly that no, I was off the hook (a statement that I have seen in a few other reviews on here as well). Last night, I received a call from collections that I owed Bell $140.00. I phoned in to figure out what it was and was told that for the last year, I have had a separate line being charged to me which in fact was not cancelled with my iPhone. I did not have any bills sent to me for the charges and was not informed by a phone call or email at any point in time that I had outstanding bills.
Today I tried to talk with the representatives at Bell and asked them to waive the fees based on the fact that I had not received any paperwork or record of these charges. I was told pointblank that no matter what I did, I would end up having to pay. That no matter the claim or the cause, the customer always has to pay. I am literally shaking. I am so angry. It's not about the money as much for me as $140 isn't nearly as bad as some of the stories that I have read on this website. It is the fact that we, as customers, have literally no rights and no ability to negotiate or even reason with the company. I feel completely helpless and it is the most frustrating feeling! My plan is to share my story over the internet as much as possible in hopes that enough people will read it and others that are out there, and put an end to their accounts with Bell.

We should stop complaining, since there are no results and Bell keeps laughing at all of us. My telephone service was cut off because I did refuse to pay for Bell TV service, which I do not have! Back in April of this year, I moved from my previous apartment and took my Bell Services with me. Because I was not allowed to have Bell Satellite at my previous apartment, this would be a good opportunity to try out Satellite TV. However, after three days, I did not like it so I called to have it disconnected. I eventually had to have the phone service switched to another service provider as well due to static/crackling on the phone line. This was done after many repeated attempts by Bell to fix the problem, I actually switched at the beginning of June. However, I kept the internet service as my contract ends in February 2013 and it is at that point, that I will decide to stay with Bell or not.
Now, the reason for contacting you is to ask for your help in resolving my present problem with Bell which is my refund of $87.76 that never arrived, despite my numerous calls to Bell. I am always promised to receive my refund within 4 weeks, but it is now 4 months and I am still waiting and waiting and waiting. It's always the same story, we are working on it and you should receive it in four weeks! If you can help me with this problem, it would be truly appreciated, but even just listening to my frustration with Bell helps. Thank you. This is from a senior citizen whose every penny counts these days!

We moved from Ontario to New Brunswick and have spent 7 months now, trying to resolve changing our cell phone from there to here. Their customer service is rude, uninformed, and tell you what will come on the bill in 30 days; and it does not happen. The cell we had broke. We purchased upfront from them another, which we changed to a New Brunswick phone number. Now today, they sent us a $400 bill for cancelling that phone, even though it's only been given a new phone number in New Brunswick. It's still with Bell. We still pay Bell. We purchased the phone at the Bell store and paid for it upfront, and they were telling us that they upgraded our technology. But we only asked for a durable phone.
We are senior citizens; we don't text, we don't photograph, and we only use it for emergencies. But they want $400, because we changed the phone number. If a lightning bolt hits them and puts out their computers, I wouldn't hand them a candle to use for light. It's a horrible company, and we have been with them for 18 years. I have no idea when they went down such a terrible road where it fleeces the customer as much as possible and run. Trying to get things fixed over the phone with their customer service can take hours on the phone. They even had me driving into town to the Bell store and back home to receive their phone calls. The stress with trying to straighten out anything with them is unreal. It's horribly unreal.

It's a long story, but I will try to be as concise as possible. In October, my ex signed up to Bell in my name. The guy came down with the equipment and installed it. I moved to Brantford and was there for two weeks, and left my ex. I went to a women's shelter. While in the shelter, I phoned Bell to cancel all services. The bell agent said I would be better off just putting it all on a hold as if I was going on holidays and then there would be no further billing for services at my former home. It sounded logical. After all, when I get my new place, I would need a phone and TV service, wouldn't I?
A few weeks later, I phoned them up to make sure they had followed instructions. They had not. My ex ran up $240 in three days on overseas calls through the phone service, which he shouldn't have been able to use. I spoke to a rather nice Bell lady, who said the other agent I was speaking to had no clue and she fixed that problem. She also put a note on my file advising that a long distance package be added and backdated so I wouldn't be screwed quite so bad. That seemed like a relief, so I tried working on getting my life back. At this point, I'm still in a shelter with my kids, with no job, and my ex had sold off everything I owned so I'm broke.
At this point, I started getting things back on track and by April, have paid off $1,500 and a final $4.64 to completely close the account. That included all charges for closing and equipment. I asked the agent, "Is that absolutely everything?" He said, "Yes, you are free and clear." I kept checking my account online for a few months to make sure. It was the most expensive month of Bell services ever, but no, everything was over and my debts were cleared. In fact, after phoning to double check, I ended up getting an internet service from them and have kept it.
Then last week, a collections agency emailed me demanding $998 owed to Bell. I explained that I don't owe Bell a penny and I've been paid up in full since April 11th of this year. I have an internet account with Bell so if they have issues, they could have contacted me anyway. Turns out that Bell gave the collection agency my email to extort money out of me for a bill I had paid in full. I just got off the phone with a collection agency and Bell representative. The rep from Bell just kept on lying and didn't seem to actually know any details of my file. After that, I was threatened by the collection agency with destroying my credit rating if I didn't pay promptly and in full.
Now what makes this really sad is that there isn't a way in hell I could pay the bill anyway. I'm at home with my kids in a crappy apartment. My ex doesn't pay child support and I'm going back to school in September. Now I may have problems with OSAP because Bell has chose to double bill me. By opening a completely closed account that was paid in full, Bell committed fraud. By giving the fraudulent debt to a collection agency without ever trying to contact me, Bell is participating in extortion. I have no intention of letting this go, I do not fund criminals. The only advice I can give someone dealing with Bell is document everything and record everything, it helps.

Last month (on 6/21 at 3:07 pm), I complained to Bell about a minor extra charge on my account for Standard Definition US Time Shifting as I get HD time shifting with one of my packages. Bell's customer service rep was loath to give me a $1 credit but eventually, after leaving me on hold for a while did so. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, I was again put on hold (for quite some time) and finally was told that the supervisor was not available but he would phone me back. Much to my surprise, I got a call (6/23 3:24 PM EST) from someone who identified himself as Marc (French accent) from Bell. He was very querulous and downright rude, just short of hostile. He asked me in an offensive manner, "Why do you want a credit?"
I told him, "You are very rude!" There was no apology, just static. So I asked, "What's the name of your supervisor?" His reply was, "I don't have a supervisor." Incredulously, I challenged Marc, "You're in charge of everything?" His reply was, "Yes." Mystified, I then asked (rather sarcastically), "I suppose you're in charge of programming too?" Marc's answer was, "Yes, that's right." Clearly, I had a problem. So, I thanked him for returning my call and hung up.
A lousy $1 a month credit for SD time-shifting was not worth the hassle of dealing with this insolent megalomaniac. Needless to say, I was absolutely livid and decided not to complain until I had cooled off which still has not happened. I'm still with Bell because: 1) as a retiree, I have a substantial investment in equipment; 2) my French-Canadian wife likes her French programs in HD; and 3) I need my NCAA sports packages. However, dealing with Bell's insensitive, rude, unapologetic, lying supervisor irks me no end.

In my exemplary case, I had a five-month long ordeal with Bell to simply cancel my three-phone plan, which includes BBB and CCTS complaints. Although Bell, in the end, has accepted honest error, I have spent more than 5 hours by phone fighting with the humiliating, so-called customer care of Bell without being able to cancel my contract. I am not counting the amount of time I had to write to BBB and CCTS. They have set up a scam by simply forgetting to cancel two phones from the plan. During more than a month, I talked to more than 10 Bells reps; all of them were viciously supporting this scam, as it is clear from my response to CCTS. I was shocked to discover that Bell teaches its employees that dishonesty and mind games are the only way to deal with its customers.
I have a detailed description of Bell’s wrongdoing and clear proof of the criminal content in Bell customer care actions. During my three-year contract with Bell Mobility, I was subjected to all of the company's despicable business practices, which included but were not limited to: First, violation of the verbally prepared contract in favor of Bell when the original contract was negotiated. I was not able to prove this since the customer service rep refused to provide timely confirmation of the contract conditions. Second, Bell's illegal and consistent refusal to provide confirmation in writing when I began the arduous process of trying to cancel my plan at the end of the contract term. Every time I talked to them, I insisted on getting a confirmation in writing of the cancellation. Instead, the staff attempted to confuse me by giving me conflicting information and reactivating the plan without my consent. In addition, they firmly and repeatedly refused to let me speak with a supervisor/manager about this issue.
Third, Bell's manipulation of the cancellation conditions without my consent. Fourth, Bell charging me for services that I no longer received and continuing to issue bills after the cancellation. And finally, I have suffered enormous humiliation from the customer service, when for hours every time I talked to them, they consistently deceived me. Twice, with the bill in hand, I caught them lying to me, but this did not deter them from further attempting to deceive me. And after more than five(!) hours of fierce fighting over the phone for the basic customer right to cancel a contract, they actually won. I was ready to pay any amount to Bell, just to put an end to this ordeal and enormous waste of time.
Thanks to my daughter, who suggested that I file a complaint with the BBB and CCTS, Bell was forced to restore the initial cancellation contract date, was not able to rip me off of my money and humiliate me further. In Bell’s template apology letter sent to me through the BBB, they proudly announced that they would correct their honest mistake and, in a timely fashion, they would compensate me the $11 that they overcharged me, which they again have forgotten to send me. Only after CCTS request I got the compensation. No mention, however, about the new bill that they issued for a service that they did not provide, their lying customer service reps, the hours of phone humiliation and many other wrongdoings that I had discussed in my complaints to the BBB and CCTS.
Unfortunately, both BBB and CCTS do not have any way to enforce the rules of normal business, which is despicably violated by Bell to maximize its profit. And due to wireless monopoly in Canada, customers do not have any ways to get honest service they deserve. I have a detailed description of my ordeal and Bell’s ridiculous excuses for their dishonesty are available upon request. I strongly believe that action must be taken to defend the right of thousands of Canadians that have no choice but to deal with this huge Canadian corporation. In order to do this, the public must be made aware of these ongoing issues. I know that this is not an isolated incident, and I have found countless accounts of such customer abuse by searching online and talking to my friends about this.

I had a Bell Mobility cell phone and faithfully paid my bill every month, then around September 2011 my ability to send/receive calls stopped. I contacted Bell and getting someone who understood English or spoke in a reasonable manner was difficult. But eventually I found out, they said they had not received my payment for that last 2 months. Now there is also an issue with this that goes back to when I bought the phone. I purchased it from Sounds Fantastic which was selling Bell Aliant phones and plans. I am in the process of my permanent residency here and when I bought the phone and the 3-year contract, everything was fine, until I started getting my services cut off. The salesman, at no time, mentioned a $300 cap on my service. Also, I had paid my bills, but Bell claimed they had not received payment. I checked with my bank and they also confirmed, Bell had indeed accepted the payments and everything was correct.
However, the bank pulled back the payments and resent them - bearing in mind I still was paying for this phone and still could not use it. I went into the Sounds Fantastic Store/Bell Aliant and asked them why they hadn't told me about the $300 cap, the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said, “What do you want me to do?” I told him that under no circumstances would I have continued with the contract had he told me that. He just laughed and said, “Well, you have to pay for it or cancel it and pay the fees, which were nearly $600.” To cut a long story short, they still hadn't sorted the bank issue out. I still had no service. I went into Sounds Fantastic/Bell Aliant again and said I wanted to pay my bill over the counter, they refused the payment unless I had a Mastercard or Visa. I said I didn't have one, he said, “Well, why don't you take yourself across the road and get one of those temporary ones or top-up ones.” I told him that there was no way I was going to do that. He then then just ignored me and went back to talking to his colleagues who were equally uninterested. I told him, “You were quick to help when you were trying to get my money.” He just ignored that, too.
Meanwhile I had phoned Bell several times and was met with the same language problems and they just would understand that the bank had sent the payments, I had the confirmation numbers, etc. Even when they escalated the call, the guy was totally useless and just repeated that I should pay the bill. I did, and resent them and so on, but he also told me that they would not reconnect the phone till I did, and they were going to charge me reconnection fees, late payment fees, etc. This left me with no option but to go to another service provider, Rogers, who cancelled my account with Bell and did explain the cap on the contract, which I was happy to live with as I knew about it. I asked the chap at Rogers, how important that piece of the contract was. He told me that it was critical, not that I could run up a bill, but it formed a major part of the agreement.
I could've sent a cheque to Bell, but there were 2 payments still in their system they claimed they couldn't find. Therefore, not only did I pay the bills, I wasn't going to send them anymore money and they forced me to take the only action I could. I recently got a call from a collection agency looking for over $900.00 for Bell. I explained that it was in dispute and what happened, however they called me on 3 different numbers including my workplace, something I had never given Bell. I told the collection company that if they ever called me again, I would report this, as I had never issued Bell or anyone with these numbers. They told me that Bell had given them the numbers. I have refused to pay, as they still have the money and having no prior issues payment, they penalized me and made no attempt to find or to facilitate a resolution. Their communication is brutal at best, its time sanctions were brought against Bell and a simplified process of reporting them or legal action is forced upon them from the communication watchdog.

From Sunday, the 15th of April, my internet service was unavailable, called Bell Canada and reported the problem. I was told that it was my alarm system that needed to be filtered. I called the alarm company they told me it was Bell Canada’s problem, which was on Monday. After work, I called Bell Canada to let them know that it was their problem. They told me it was because my home phone was canceled by Bell Canada and that's the reason why I have the problem. Okay, then they told me that they have to set up a ghost phone line in order to use the internet, fine by me. They told me that I won’t have to wait on the line, it will be done for Tuesday in the evening and the service will be restored. When I got home, there was no service, I called again and was told it was not done for some reason which they cannot tell me why after I was told that it would be done.
I really have trust issues with the people that represent Bell Canada. They cannot be trusted, lie through their teeth all the time. Anyways, I called on Wednesday to find out when the service will be restored and they said still the ghost line hasn’t been done but it will be done by 12 o’clock on Thursday night so the service will be Friday morning. I got up this morning, Friday, no service. I called Bell, the rep told me that it still was not done and that a technician will be assigned for today between 1-5 pm so that everything will be restored. I know what the outcome will be, the same. Bell Canada hires stupid people and contracts their reps from other countries to do the job and they are not trained to take care of the customer. All they are capable of doing is lie all the time.
I am with Bell for over 25 years and the service in all departments stink really bad. Another problem was the satellite dish, found a piece of the equipment from the satellite on the ground this morning when I was leaving for work, everything is falling apart. The pricing of the product is so expensive; the bogus policy that you people have it is disgusting. I am making it a point to let people know not to use your company. I was warned before I signed up with you people, but I did not listen. Big mistake, not again, I can’t wait for the contract to finish in January 2013. So far, I have been charged for product that was quoted to me from the go get how much my monthly bill would be. But when I got my first invoice, it was higher than the price on the product. It was totally different from the quote they gave me. Every month I have to sit down for 2 hours to go through my invoice to understand, it’s complicated.
Well, I am going to make it a part of my responsibility to protect people from your company. There will be more complaints to come, waiting to see what happens today.

Today I find out they automatically continued my service after December so I owe for December, January, February and as of today, I have to pay another 30 days for the termination notice. When I received my first bill, I was surprised to see a total of $402.32 that apparently included set up and installation charges when I called Bell Canada accounts department to clarify. Without any equipment rentals at $75.00 per month, I realized that I was getting a horrible deal, so I decided to call Bell if I can close the account and switch to wireless as I don't live at the store. I was told that if I switch to wireless it will be a separate account, so I declined.

I decided to continue till the end of December 2011 when Bell offered to reduce my basic monthly bills for $50.00 per month. I finally closed my account last December 2011 and am planning to pay when certain issues are clarified. I was not aware that I was initially signed up a contract for 12 months and now being charged extra $96.00 for local link termination charges. I just really think Bell has taken advantage of me! I would appreciate any help to clarify this issue.

I have contacted the Bell internet service last month to cancel the net service and they did. Few days after that, I received a phone call from the loyalty department at Bell saying that they would give me an offer for the internet service and it would be cheaper and even if I agreed to take the offer and canceled it, there would be no terms or conditions. My husband wasn't home and I said I just need to speak with him and I will call Bell the next day. I phoned the next day and accepted the offer. The second day, I phoned Bell to cancel that offer because I made a contract with a cheaper company providing me with a higher gigabyte than Bell and the woman who took the telephone call tried to convince me about other offers for the telephone but I wasn't satisfied and I said cancel the internet service and leave my old plan for the TV and told them don't change it, cancel the net service only. She told me that the service would be terminated by the end of Jan and you have to return the modem with your final billing and according to this conversation I unplugged my modem and not using the Bell net service .
Today, I contacted the internet service asking for the final billing and how to return the modem. They said that the cancellation hasn't been done and I have to pay because they will cancel the service starting from today. I told them I am not using a single gigabyte because I have a contract with Shaw since that time. Now, they are asking me to pay until March 14th for a service that I am not using and they checked and found that I am not using the service since that time (the modem is unplugged). It is not my mistake that they don't listen well or forget to cancel or didn't document that. It isn't fair to pay for something I am not using. I am very upset about that kind of service and if anyone from Bell can contact me please. Thanks.

I called to find out my cell phones and was told I had no contract and that my phones were paid for. I switched providers for a far better rate and then they charged me $100.00 per phone plus $60.00 for one phone they claimed was not paid. When I called, the person on the phone said that I agreed to a contract on February 2nd. I retired on Feb 1st. so I know that I did not call them. When I spoke to them, the person was rude and immediately sent the claim to a collection agency.

I have signed a contract with Bell to provide cable services for 2 years, and the contract expires on December 9, 2011. I phoned them to cancel the services effectively as of December 9, 2011 and have been told that they need 30 days' notice. So I have to pay for 30 days, even if I am not using their services. The initial contract I have signed on December 9, 2009 does not have any clause which tells me to give them a 30 days' notice.

This is a story of fraudulent charges by the Billing Department of Bell Canada and such a display of intransigence of mind that they refuse to actually investigate their own international connection error.
This error began in May and continued through June and July before it stopped, however, this did not deter the Billing Department from charging 152 calls at 14 cents per minute to the sum of $640.00 for a call that cannot be completed.
In order to prevent accidentally connecting a landline phone call to a cell phone, it is a common practice to never have a number common both to a cell phone and a landline phone. If you attempt to call the number with the 521 prefix, you are greeted by the automatic operator advising that this number cannot be completed as dialed. Of course not! Although the prefix is that of a cell phone, the number that follows is a landline phone and the automatic switching equipment will not allow it and will advise you so. Because it has a 521 prefix, the Billing Department says that it is a cell phone and because the statement says that many minutes were spent on the line in conversation, hence, the Billing Department says that the call was completed and therefore the charges are valid.
Herein is the quandary. How is it possible to make a complete connection and spend more than a half hour in several cases on a connection that the automatic equipment will not permit to be completed? The equipment will not allow a cell phone prefix followed by a landline number to be completed. They are in conflict. Even if by accident a person were to enter the wrong prefix, the automatic equipment would not allow the call to be completed; so why are we being billed as if the calls were completed. When we first became aware of this error on our June statement, we contacted Bell to advise them of this error but were summarily dismissed as a customer trying to get out of paying our bill. They refused to actually phone the number themselves to corroborate or repudiate our claim that the number they are charging us for is a bogus number that cannot be completed. Bell refuses to even investigate the possibility that the number we were connected to was a landline phone that the switching equipment has identified as a cell phone because of the wrong prefix.
No matter to whom you are speaking or to which department you have been directed, the answer is always the same. If we ask them to call the complete number to ascertain the truth of our claim, they say that they do not have access. Imagine! A telephone company that says it cannot make a telephone call. The truth of what they are saying is that they will not make the call and totally rely on the accuracy of their billing statement which they claim cannot be in error.
Bell Canada is capable of tracking any telephone number to anywhere in the world if they so choose. They simply do not choose and are punishing me for their error.
We are on Bell One Bill, which also includes our television service through Bell Expressvu which has nothing to do with our phone bill or any dispute that may occur between us and the telephone company. I have paid my entire bill up to date with the exception of the $640.00 they have charged us for a number that cannot be completed. Nonetheless, they have not only terminated our home phone but have also discontinued our television service. They are punishing us for their mistake and are trying to intimidate us into paying fraudulent charges for which they have no explanation except to claim that they are valid. I do not have the resources to fight Bell Canada of which they are well aware but in this case, they are completely wrong.
I will not pay the fraudulent $640.88 and so I must now seek another telephone company for my home phone and another company to provide television dish service. This really sucks. The Billing Department is either too lazy or too incompetent to pursue this travesty to adjust conclusion. There was no investigation or action taken just an intransigent attitude that states that the charges are valid and will not be reversed. They will not call the number themselves to confirm or repudiate my claim that the calls they are charging me for cannot be completed.
