This business sucks. You can't change your address when you need to. You have to contact customer service to change it and they ask for your bill when applying for credit and if you don't have a bill that has your address on it they won't accept it. For instance I gave them a social security statement with my address and date on it and they didn't accept it. So I don't recommend doing business with them. They suck.

I ordered an in stock item. I was suppose to get it in 6 to 8 days, but 10 days later they have not even shipped it. I have emailed and called customer service literally 50 times or more and no one can answer 2 simple questions. Why hasn't it shipped? When will it ship? Apparently, they think if they ignore you and make it impossible to get the answers that you will just leave them alone. They are sadly mistaken!!!

Got a $400 credit limit and used it to do some Christmas shopping. Have been paying on it for 4 months and pay $20 more than my minimum payment each time and my balance has not gone down a single penny. I wish I had never opened an account. As soon as I have the extra money I will pay off this debt and never order a thing from them again! Don't get roped in like I did, it's not worth it!

This is what I wrote to Lisa Gavales, the interim Chief Executive Office of Bluestem, the company that owns Fingerhut: "Recently I purchased an item from Fingerhut... I had an issue with the tablet from day one. Zeki 9" Touch Screen 8GB Android Tablet with Built-In DVD/CD Player - TBDV986W Item Number: NJ76Y. I called technical support, and the information they provided was wrong. They were talking about me having to return the item, it was defective and I had to send it back. When I questioned why I should pay for it, the agent provided yet more incorrect information. I ended the call. After spending days and talking to friends I was able to get it started. Shortly after I started to get messages about various applications that were not closing. One after the other, and I could not continue my posts.

"I called Tech support again, the person told me to do, what I had done before again which was to reset the tablet. Did that. I did not have many applications, most were the ones that came with the tablet. So, in a few days it started to happen again. At this point I called and stated that I wanted to return the item, and did not think that I should pay for it ( knowing that the shipping costs would be deducted from my downpayment of 30.00. I was told no problem and would be shipped out a label. Well the label that was shipped to me was just a simple address label... no postage. I called Again, and explained, I was advised that I would be shipped out the correct label. It was received and I returned the item.

"Once the company was in receipt of the item I inquired about my refund. Now, Fingerhut has my account number and sure did charge my account ASAP after I placed the order, yet, I was advised that I would be receiving a check in 2 weeks, which at this point infuriated me. They have my account information. YET I had to wait for a check. I will admit, at this point I was very angry, and hung up after stating I did not care how I get the money, just send me my (yes I used the F bomb) money. Today, about 2 weeks later, I called and was informed that the refund has not been sent because I hung up on the previous agent. When I inquired what that had to do with my refund since it is a given he hesitated then said it had to be confirmed. So I said, "Ok. What exactly do you need from me." He put me on hold, then came back and stated that I was now confirmed. Not explaining what that meant or any confirmation number or anything.

"So, basically what I think at this point is the previous agent wanted to basically ensure that I did not get the refund and had to go through the inconvenience of dealing with yet more inept customer service. There was nothing that this customer service agent I spoke to today needed to do for me to get the refund... I need to state that at this point having dealt with numerous outsourcing customer service agents, the ones that are polite, but most inept are the ones from the Philippines. And personally am getting very very tired of the runarounds, no direct answers and errors. I left a message for a supervisor to call me, but, at this point I wanted to write to you directly. The refund is only 15.00, but to me that is money for other things such as medication. Plus no one should have to go through this."

My wife and I got a laptop from them for work purposes and it has been a nightmare from start and they don’t care AT ALL and have told us this on the phone. When the laptop was delivered all seemed well, then we tried to use MS Office Suite and we were unable to access these products and we kept getting a pop-up saying to enter product code # found on the back of your laptop which we were unable to locate, so we called Fingerhut and they gave us the code. No issue at all! Move forward 6mths and the laptop gave the blue screen of death and would no longer work. We called Fingerhut to let them know and they told us the motherboard was bad and to send it to Dell and they can refurbish it for us; I told them I got this new and it is under warranty and I don't want a refurbished laptop when I am paying their high rate ($500+) for a new one.

First they tell me we are not under warranty anymore. It has expired which was bull because we got the 1 year warranty and that time was not up at that point, so then they all of a sudden they see we are still under warranty, BUT... I didn't get the correct warranty, we got basic coverage, so it can't be returned because we didn't pick the full coverage option; when there is only 1 option for that product warranty in the book we ordered from, nor were we ever told there was more than 1 warranty option! So I told them I am sending it back to you as we don’t want the piece of (expletive) to which they said, "Well you still have to pay for it or we will send you to collections."

I after I calmed down I thought about and decided to send it to Dell and continue making my payments. Dell sent the laptop back in a matter of a week to 2 weeks and it worked great, except when they fixed it basically reverted back to all factory settings, so we again could not use MS Office, so we contact Fingerhut and they told me they don't have product key and to call Dell. We called Dell and long story short they push us back to FH. We called again and now they are acting like we never had a product code for this laptop and we have to buy MS products which is over $200 dollars even though we kept telling them they already gave it to us before so what is the problem!

This has now been going on back and forth with FH and Dell without resolution. Move forward to this afternoon, I spent 3 hours on the phone with FG bouncing from person to person and department to department; they finally told me we do have rights to the product key and it is in the box from Dell!! I told them I don't have the box anymore and maybe if you would have done your job right and told me this the first time I called then we would not be here today; I asked again, "Can’t you can't just give to me?" And was told point blank NO! So now I am stuck with a laptop I can't use and I still have to pay for it. Not sure what you guys do about this type of things, but I see a lot of bad reviews on FH on here, so maybe you don't do anything but gather info., but would love to know my rights on this type of thing? Am I just out of luck and let this on my credit report, or what? Thank you.

I have tried numerous times to explain to this company that there is a charge on my credit report that isn't mine and they refuse to look at it. I feel that the person whose charges that they have added to my credit report is not getting credit established. I have never had a Fingerhut account nor will I ever have one due to all the problems I have had with this company. They keep saying it's mine even though I don't live in the Chicago area, nor have a phone number for that area, I live in Baltimore, I have never even been to Chicago. But this company refuses to correct this problem or even to investigate what I am telling them is the truth. I would tell everyone that I talk to what has happened to me and not to deal with this company.

When difficulties arise, they make agreements to be paid overtime, after the payment date, they state that the agreement was not valid to be made. So the payment you make to catch up an account is not valid unless over 45 days past due. Thus, when trying to keep credit rating fairly well, they offer an agreement that can't be made. Be careful with their financing. They want your money, but do not respect their agreements with the consumer.

Hello, I am writing this review to warn others about Fingerhut. I was told that Fingerhut would be a good way to help my credit. I made a few purchases and paid everything off as fast as possible, I was even often rewarded with credit increases. The reason I am disappointed is because Fingerhut has no customer service. Even if you're a customer with the best record. They don't care if you get a defective product or if you're overall unhappy with a purchase. You bought it so you're stuck paying for it regardless if you're satisfied with your purchase or not. (Or even if the product is broken or defective.) I was willing to forgive the fact that all their products are highly overpriced and very cheap in quality, but the lack of service was the last straw.

I had over $1,000 in credit with Fingerhut, but I decided to cancel it all because I am not willing to get stuck in debt with a company that couldn't care less about their customers. The last item I purchased was a futon, the type of futon you'd find at a local Big Lots for about $200. Except this one was from Fingerhut, so it cost $600. Not only did it come defective and broken, when I tried to get any help from customer service, it's like there's no one home. Their emails feel like automatic responses, not something from a real person. They just want to make the most money they can charging outrageous prices and interests. They don't care about their product quality or their customer satisfaction, only about their customer's payment due dates and interest rates accrual.

I told them I was in a bad car accident then broke my foot and was unable to make the payment due the next day. I was basically told there was nothing they could do. I log in a few days later to make the payment, not only is collections calling, they have also sent a email saying I refuse to speak via phone so my account has been closed and I can only order in cash. Then they told me I used all my available credit... No I had over $1500 still available to use... I'm so annoyed. But Walmart sells the EXACT same items way below Fingerhut's cost.

I signed up for a Fingerhut account in January of this year (2018). Due to poor credit from Bankruptcy, I added a Fingerhut account to help build my credit. I understand Fingerhut has about a 30% increase on all of their items - this is to be expected, as their website is meant to help customers with poor credit achieve items that they probably normally couldn't afford without the option of making payments. I, however, am fortunate that I make decent money and I just wanted to use this site to boost my credit score... what a nightmare I have gotten myself into. My first purchase with Fingerhut went smoothly and quickly - I purchased a cheap elliptical and a set of dumbells for my exercise room and paid them all off immediately. They arrived on time and in good shape. No issues. The nightmare begins for my second and LAST purchase...

Shortly after I paid off my first purchase, I ordered an Apple Watch. My tracking told me it would be here February 16th. I followed my tracking closely and the day it was supposed to have been delivered, in fact, the tracking was so specific, it even said it was delivered into my mailbox, there was no Apple Watch. On their tracking website, there's a little bubble that says "Don't have your package yet? No worries! This happens, check your bushes and around your house etc etc and call us in 3 days if you still don't have your package."

Well, lo and behold, 3 days passes and still no Apple Watch. I call Customer Service and spoke w/ a very nice lady whom said that for some reason my order has actually BEEN CANCELED by Fingerhut! She said my account was FLAGGED because I had made a LARGE PAYMENT on my account (when I paid off my account in full for my last purchase!). How asinine is that? Basically they punish their customers for paying off their accounts in full. She apologized up and down and I had to go through a crazy array of security questions to "unflag" my account. She said the package was never actually delivered, but instead canceled and it should be on its way back to their warehouse. I made sure to tell this lady that once the watch is returned, I don't want it.

Weeks go by and still, watch hasn't been returned to Fingerhut and it surely never came to me. I call Fingerhut again on 03/09 and speak w/ a not-so-nice representative named Lindsay. She rudely told me the same tracking information that I already know - that on Feb 22nd it went to MN and that's all. She told me that maybe USPS changed the packages tracking number and I need to call USPS and "figure it out" myself. Awesome, Lindsay. Let me spend more time on the issues YOUR COMPANY is responsible for, but sure, I'll call.

I get off the phone with her and call USPS - 2 hour wait! Beyond annoyed, I waited the 2 hours and 3 minutes it took and spoke w/ a sweet as can be woman named Mary. I told Mary my situation and she checked my tracking and the first this she says it "Wow, this is a mess! Is Fingerhut really charging you still for this item?" and I said "Yes!" Mary explained that the package has been in transit since it was sent off in February and it never was delivered to me and she said the same thing we all know - It was delivered last on Feb 22 to Eden Prairie, MN and no one has seen it since.

She gave me another number to the post office where I am from to speak with a representative there to see if they can tell me if the tracking number had been changed. By the time I called the post office they were closed, so I left a voicemail. The next day they returned my call and left me a voicemail, stating they had no other information other than the package was sent to MN...

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now March 15th. Said watch is nowhere to be found. According to tracking, it made its way all the way back to Eden Prairie, MN, but can not be found since then. This is my major questioning - Fingerhut is BASED out of Eden Prairie, MN! That's its headquarters! That's the warehouse the watch came from! You're telling me that the watch is in your town, but hasn't been delivered to you? SCAM ARTISTS. I am still being charged for this watch, that I never received. You can bet that my account is going to be canceled and I will NEVER do business with them again!

I paid a 1000.00 early payment, they took out another 139.52 out of my account which was unauthorized, which made my payment paid in full, I called them about it, so they redeposited the money back in my account week later. Then I checked on the account. They said I need to pay 152.45 to pay it off, so the way I look at it they made me pay for their mistake that they did, have never been late. The answer I got is that is interest they are charging for, so I told them I wanted to pay them off and they said it would cost me 5.00 more, so I went online to pay the full amount which I did, now it shows that I owe 1.00 more. I will never never use them again, big rip off. I guess I learned my lesson.

All of my experiences with Fingerhut have been excellent. Yes, they are a little more expensive than some others, but they also let you pay the bare minimum time payments and even extend credit to those with a poor credit history, allowing the opportunity to repair and grow creditworthiness - even to those as low as 500 CS! That is indeed a big deal. PS, Fingerhut has been around since the 1940s; this is not some fly by night operation.

Most of the "reviews" of this company are suspiciously negative (and very hard to believe)... ala Yelp. Makes one wonder if they are politically motivated. Years ago when I was very young I had a FH account and messed it up badly by not paying on time (if at all). Try that with your mortgage and see how far you get. Anyway, years later I decided to give them another try and they gave me another try as well - pretty forgiving if you ask me. They have helped me to finally be able to obtain credit. The more on-time payments I make, the more credit they extend me.

They absolutely do report to the credit agencies and as a result I have repaired my credit, now appreciating about 20K in available credit from several different banks, with a nice looking CS to boot. I usually purchase bedding and every single item I have purchased has been lovely, held up well and if you actually know how to shop - has been quite affordable. Thank you Fingerhut! Thank you for a second chance. I'm sorry about my bad credit behavior in the past.

I called and they stated that they gave me a credit for the game I returned. I told them I returned the 2 games, the Nintendo Switch and the tote and they said they only received the game. I told them how when I returned everything in the same box. I then told them. I don't know if someone stole it or they did not scan the items correctly, so they told me if I could supply them with the weight receipt they would give me a credit. Of course when I received that generic email about them processing my return. I threw the receipt away with the 100s others I have cause it was Xmas time.

They couldn't supply me with the return label number that they sent me, so USPS where I dropped the package off at, does not have a way to find without that. Now I'm stuck having to pay $900 worth of merchandise I do not have. Not okay Fingerhut. They should have some kind of record on what they scanned in. The customer service in handling this issue was not helpful. They are set up to not help the customer but defeat them. According to the reviews this happens all the time with this company. If it is so easy for fraudulent accounts to be opened you would think they would setup extra precautions when opening an account. All these seems like an awful lot of headache over what started as a $20 purchase in my specific situation and has now grown in interest. You need to file a police report for them to even consider looking into your case. You will need to dispute this transaction with all three credit bureaus.

I have automatic payments that work great and the items are mostly worth it because you don't have to pay for so long. I haven't experienced half the problems people on here have. I just became a member of Fingerhut in December of 2017. I ordered a computer on the Day12 of the Christmas sales. I had ordered a computer on Day11, which was a specific sale that the computer did not apply. On day 12, I received an email the day 12 sale was 15% off any item. I went into the website and put the computer into my cart, applied the day 12 coupon and hit enter. It gave me the discount of $130.79. I called customer service and explained the situation. She said that since I order it on day 11 she could not help. I told her to cancel the order. She told me it already shipped, so I told her I was going to send it back and reorder it today, day 12... She put me on hold, came back and told me that she spoke to a supervisor and that they would give me the credit and it would show up on my account with 24/48 hours. I thought great.

I received the bill in January 8th, and no credit was given. I called again, explained the situation. The rep told me that there was no record that I had called on December 12th... GREAT!!! She then put me on hold, came back and said that SHE spoke with a supervisor and my credit has been approved and it would show up in 24/48 hours!!! I think ok, with optimism... After checking 3 days later, NOTHING!!! I then decided that I wanted my correspondence and writing so I sent an e-mail going through the WHOLE situation AGAIN!!!! I then get an e-mail back saying the Day12 sale did not include computers!!! That was obviously a lie, since when I used the code on DAY 12 it gave me the discount!!!! If it didn't I would not have even asked for it. Now, before the bill is even due, they start calling me asking for a payment.

I was finally home to take a harassing call from the billing department and I explain to her the situation and that I am still waiting for my credit. She tells me that there are no records of my call or email!!!! Are you flipping kidding me!!! She transferred me to customer service. This woman, proceeds to tell me that she found my e-mail and I was informed that the day 12 excluded computers!! I told her that she was lying!!! And that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. She conveniently told me the supervisor was on another line. YA I BET!! I told her that I wanted a supervisor to call me back. She said, "Oh, they can't do that our system is automated!!!" I said "REALLY, you can't write my number down, and they can't dial a phone and call me back!!!!" I then hung up on her after telling her that I was going to let the Better Business Bureau know, and I was going to post on all social media how bad their customer service was.

Paid on time to build credit but their slow accounting inaccuracy cause me late charges and bad credit reporting. They were quick to tell me, they sold my account to RESURGENT COLLECTION. First purchase, made payments on time but then I paid off account early. They claimed paying off early was technically "breaking my payment agreement". So I tried again, with another purchase. After several months of payments on time, I tried to make a payment via Credit Card - and system wouldn't accept card. Called customer service and she stated that because I was 'new' and a FreshStart account, the system doesn't allow it. After explaining that I'd been with them for over a year, she said, "Well you didn't GRADUATE! So you started all over." Fingerhut obviously TRIES TO MAKE YOU FAIL in an honest endeavor to improve your credit. That is their SCAM. Their customer service is the worst - actually argumentative.

My acct. was paid up and I had not received any statements. for ins. What ins???? She said I had ins coming out and I was behind. She didn't care that I said I didn't remember getting ins. I could hardly get a word in. She kept talking over me in an accent that was very hard to understand. I told her I would call back hoping to get someone that could speak fluent English.

I checked my acct. Nothing on statements. I called back and told them there was nothing on my statements and I never received any statements. She gave me the number for the ins. co and told me to call and cancel the ins. (The ins I didn't know I had). I did call and cancel the ins. that I didn't know I had!!! I paid half of the $38 I shouldn't have had to pay. So this morning I checked my email and there was an email for credit score. They had turned me in for $19.47 I didn't owe!!! BEWARE buyers!

Zero stars if possible. Why? They approve you for a limit. Let's say mine went from $600 to $1000 and then ultimately $1300. When you make purchases everything is fine. You miss one payment they decrease your limit by $300. If your balance is paid off and you owe them absolutely nothing they raise your limit and give you a deadline to make such purchase so you can lock that limit. If you don't want to make a purchase and get yourself in debt because you have other obligations what do they do? They put remove your credit line and put it all the way to $0 in retaliation. This is probably the worst. I really meant it. The worst credit card company I have ever dealt with. Instead of rewarding you for your payments being current and zero debt they punish you for not making more purchases despite your excellent paying history. Stay away from this credit line. They suck.

Because they only have a 30 day return policy, they refuse to ever acknowledge the complaint. They instead referred me to the manufacturer. I asked them to close account, which they promptly acknowledge but no response to defective merchandise. Buyer beware! Goods are shipped from China, and they charge nearly double than what you would pay at Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart or Tuesday Morning. Don’t let credit issues stand in the way or hold you hostage in the way of bad business. Companies like these deserve to go under, as they put profit over good customer relations.

Their products are as they say they are. Before you order something, look at the brand name! If it's not the quality you want - order something else! DO YOUR RESEARCH! After you've been a good, pay-on-time customer for a period of time, they offer you great deals. And I DO mean "great" deals. Some of their stuff is more expensive than WalMart - OK - can you make payments at WalMart? No?? Didn't think so. Words cannot express how poorly you all have handled this situation. I ordered 2 laptops from you all as Christmas gifts for my girls. I received 3 boxes. 1 had 2 mouse and 2 carry case. 1 had a laptop and the 3rd was empty. The shipping sticker said the total of the 3 packages weighed 9 lbs. One of the laptops weighted almost 7 pounds (I weighed it on a mail meter) so it was quite obvious the 2nd laptop was never put in the box at the warehouse. I called your customer service and spoke with someone who was obviously reading a script.

She was unhelpful and just kept telling me to file a police report. She did not explain why or assist me with the next step. I asked for a supervisor or manager, which after 30 minutes on hold she was unable to find. I disconnected that call and filed the police report as I was told to and then called back. I just asked for a supervisor which I was able to get, she did help me find the affidavit online and apologized for my experience but still refused to acknowledge the obvious weight issue with the package. I did as instructed. I sent over the police report and the affidavit all to find out a week later that this is not even being looked into.

I have now sent the police report and affidavit 3 additional times and they are still stating they did not received. I talked to a supervisor today (January 9th) who refused to give me an alternative email. He just said send it a 4th time to the same email I have been sending it to and it is never received. Today I am sending it for the 4th time to customerservice@fingerhut.com, mailing and faxing my affidavit and police report. Even with this ongoing issue, I have still made on-time payments, I am not a deadbeat trying to get free merchandise or a way out of my bill and I can assure you, I will not purchase anything from you again!

Yes, they are overpriced but they are taking a big chance on people without credit that might or not pay them. All the credit accounts that I got in the internet they are just about the same only. Paypal has decent customer service in for real in this century everything is automated. Yes, most of their item are second class and usually come from China or Korea but if you know how to buy and compare prices and quality you can buy something when no one else will give it to you. From the items I got from them the packaging was sloppy. Boxes came broken but the items most of the time were good so I called it a win. When I wanted a high end phone I check their prices, and I ran. So mostly is up to the person to check out first and to choose the best deal.

So my wife went ahead and ordered two things we needed for our home. Fingerhut insisted on having my wife's bank account information even though she was using Fingerhut Credit. She fought with the very confusing website for over a hour then it all seemed as if it was billed to Fingerhut Credit so she placed the order. I immediately called customer service to verify so that the bank account would not be billed and wiped out.

I was assured twice that the items ordered were billed to Fingerhut credit. Last night we tried to use the bank card to no avail. We could not figure out why until this morning. Fingerhut had billed the $600 straight to the bank account. That was a withdrawal that was not expected. The hard part about it was being assured that we would be billed the monthly payment and instead they took the $600 in full. I am sure there is no way to do anything about it before Christmas.

I think this is why the items they sell are typically 30% more than any place else you can buy it. And their shipping costs have got to be illegal. I was going to order a shower curtain for $35, but they wanted $17 to ship it. I found the same curtain on Wayfair for $24 and they charged $4 to ship. Shower curtains weigh mere ounces so how do they justify charging that much for shipping. I recently made my last Fingerhut purchase. I'll never buy another thing from them. And every time I have tried to post a review, which are always negative, I get a message that they cannot post my review at this time. Gee, I wonder why.

Upon completing my order, I tried to apply the promo code and received an error message. Assuming that maybe I did something wrong, I reached out to their customer service, where I spoke to 3 different representatives that all gave me differing information. The first told me he didn't know what I was speaking of - even though it was being advertised on their site. The second told me that the promo code had expired. Although the details stated that it was valid until 11/27/2017 11:59 CT and I was calling at 2:00 p.m. ET.

The third representative told me that it was only applicable if the customer received an email or notice saying such. When asked why this information wasn't clearly listed in the details of the promotion code I was met with a smug attitude and less than professional demeanor. She continued to reiterate the same unhelpful information. It's disheartening, as someone who has been a customer for some time and has paid their outrageous shipping fees, to receive the good ole bait and switch. They lure their customers in with promotions and incentives they never planned to adhere to. This was not the first time and I doubt it will be their last, but it will be mine. And so I called Fingerhut back and told them that I was not going to pay to ship. Fingerhut reviewed my account and said, "Ok send it to us and we will fix it." They mailed us a shipping label to send the item to them. Once I did that they sent me an email saying, "Sorry we cannot take your item because it has been 60 days and we are sending it back."

I then sent them a message back saying that you had noticed that on the account before you sent me a shipping label to send it back to you. After a few back and forth of emails with them. They finally told me that if I did not accept the return and it went back to them, that they would dispose of it and not give me any credit. So I took that as, "Ok once I get it back they will give me my credit back." They told me, "No we are not giving you your credit back. If you want it fixed you need to take it to Memorex." This is the worst customer service that I have had to deal with in a long time. And the more bad reviews I read it seems like somebody or all of us should contact the news and have them investigated.

So, I called Fingerhut. The lady that I contacted would not let me finish my sentence. She kept saying, "Okay Strong **", my last name. And she kept repeating it over and over when I tried to speak. Then she said that she could not help me with my problem and I need to contact customer support. So I write down the #. And she gave me the same number I used to call her!?! And I tried to do the survey at the end of the call. But she put me on hold until I hung up lol. So I couldn't rate her. Anyways I finally called back. And another girl answered named Mellisa. She pretty much said it's not Fingerhut's fault and I need to call the tablet manufacturer and figure it out on my own. The tablet they sent worked for 3 weeks then it said it needed a update. I updated it, now it won't even stay on. "Turns off then right back on" but they wouldn't let me explain anything, kept cutting me off and talking over me.

It was a horrible experience. And I wouldn't recommend anyone going through Fingerhut. They don't care about their customers at ALL. All I want is my tablet to be fixed. Also I have a 1 year warranty. But I have to pay the shipping there and back. Plus, pay Fingerhut. So they sent me a messed up tablet. And said it is my fault. And be insanely rude. Well I'm going to try to send this tablet back. 'Cause I don't even want to be a Fingerhut customer after how they just treated me.

I got to looking on the payments site that they were taking two to three payments off of my debit card. Without my permission. Some of the amounts would be 32.99 and another would be 70.00 and another would be 52.99. I called them several times. They only gave me two of the lowest payments back. I warn anybody to not give this company permission to let them take out auto pay. I will never order anything from this company again. CROOKS.

I informed her the day you said they were deliver was only two items in a big box. I never received an email to track any of my package and I couldn't check my orders online. She informed me to fill out an affidavit form to investigate the problem. I never had a problem with packages getting deliver at my house. Someone is always there. I told her I better not get charge for anything I didn't received. So now I got to wait to see how this plays. I will never deal with Fingerhut again.

I should have taken that as a sign to not deal with this company and their outsourced customer service reps. I did finally get the order approved and processed, I received the Vizio 55' Ultra HD television and was thrilled that it arrived in 5 days ahead of the estimated delivery date!

Only problem was it arrived with NO power cord, remote, manual or screws for the stand! How in the world does THAT get through a quality control inspection!!! I called the phone number on the bill of laden and was told that they were very sorry this happened and I could expect a call or email from their parts department and the accessories would arrive in 5-7 business days! I told the rep that I was not ok with that and wanted overnight or at least a RUSH order as my tv is useless without the components, I got the same scripted answer "I am very sorry about this and you will receive your parts in 5-7 business days." Been a long time member of Fingerhut, ordered my engagement ring from them. Finally got a package in the mail a week before I proposed. Opened the package, there was a ring box but no ring! The package had not been tampered with, so I called them and they sent another one. This was the ring, proposal went off fine then a month later I get a bill for both rings, called them again and was told it wasn't their fault the box left without a ring. I would still be responsible for the two rings.

I didn't order again for a few years. Paid my bill, but decided to try again (stupid). I ordered a necklace from a catalog for my wife for Christmas, it was 250$, I got my order 2 days before Christmas, opened it up and discovered they sent a completely different necklace than the one I ordered. I called them and they told me I wouldn't get a replacement till after Christmas so I told them to send the refund label (as I do not have a printer to print an emailed one) and I would just give it to my wife as a birthday present in January instead.

They sent the label within a week, I returned the necklace and waited for the right one, 2 weeks later I got my package, opened it, and lo and behold, they sent me back the exact same necklace. Now let me explain that this necklace is a personalized name necklace. I couldn't believe it, I called them right away and complained that I couldn't use it now for my wife's birthday.

I asked for another return label and I canceled my order completely. They told me they'd send a return label the next day, I never got one. Waited 2 weeks called again, they said they would send one in the next couple of days. Then I get my second bill for the necklace, I pay it and wait, nothing!! I give them a few more days, call again... and again, nothing. Another bill with a threat to add late fees, another payment sent, another call, April, May. In June they apologized and said they had sent the labels by email (which they hadn't). Now they would send it by mail, July, Aug, Sept.

Then today Oct 10, I get a call from them telling me that they never received my monthly payment and late charges have been applied. I pay my bills online and I paid them on the 6th of Oct. I spoke to a representative and explained the situation and was told there was nothing they could do, I will have to pay for the late charge and full amount of the necklace, as I have exceeded the return time limit. I can't believe they did this. I will never order from them again. Really want to get a lawyer. But I know and they know it wouldn't be worth it. Wish I could tell everyone to never order from them. Sad that people don't reads these reviews till they've been taken.

I purchased 2 security cameras on-line based on descriptions and specs posted by Fingerhut. I tried but couldn't install. They wouldn't work. I called for tech help. Had to wait several weeks till available then had to reschedule. When finally arrived told me I needed a DVD player that's why wouldn't work. Went online and researched compatible equipment. Fingerhut doesn't sell DVD separately for this equipment so I had to purchase 2 more cameras and the DVD as package.

When arrived the cameras were not wireless as I had requested (the first 2 are wireless), and useless to me. Then I tried to install the equipment DVD and 2 wireless cameras and couldn't. I called for help again. When the tech finally arrived after several attempts told me the equipment was not compatible with my existing TV, and I would have to return/exchange the equipment or buy a new TV... The equipment was useless. There were no specifications listed on-line with Fingerhut about TV/monitor for proper installation of the equipment.

I wrote to the company explaining what happened and that there was no specs regarding TV monitors listed or I would have purchased something else, in addition, I told them I requested wireless and they sent me hard-wired cameras. I sent the equipment back asking to EXCHANGE the equipment for another brand that the tech told me would work with my TV. They actually sent the SAME equipment back to me telling me it was too late. I was beyond their policy for returns, even though they actually committed FRAUD by not telling me I needed specific monitors or DVDs in the first place in order for the equipment to work.

I sent the equipment back to them and this time they sent me a letter telling me they ARE KEEPING THE EQUIPMENT AND NOT GIVING ME A CREDIT OR EXCHANGE. In other words, THIEVES! I am now paying for equipment I do not have and paying interest on the charges. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!! I've sent them my 93A letter and believe me I will be seeing them in court!!! BUYERS BEWARE! I ordered a desktop on 9/13/17 from Fingerhut. I received a confirmation email with all of the correct information on it. Ok. Wonderful! So I thought. Today, 9/21/17, as I was sitting on my front porch, I received a text message stating that my package has been delivered but to an entirely different person, better yet, a different state. It turns out that Fingerhut not only gave someone else my package but was still going to make me pay for the computer. And tried to charge me for shipping costs towards a replacement. In which they waived the fee but from the looks of other complaints I'll most likely see a charge for it in the future. I sort of feel ** for requesting another product but... we'll see.

So, I also ordered a monitor the day before ordering the desktop and I received the monitor. No problem. But now I have to patiently wait for the desktop to arrive, hopefully, to the right person this time. At first, Fingerhut blamed UPS. Then the rude customer service lady at UPS told me that my tracking number belongs to someone else. I said, "Ma'am, that's not true. I have a confirmation email with my information on it". She later confirmed that Fingerhut messed it all up. Fingerhut later admitted that they messed the order up. Damnit, why didn't I review this website beforehand! I knew better than that! Well, I don't know if I can update this complaint at a later time but until then, we'll see. P.S. I do NOT recommend Fingerhut. NEVER AGAIN!

Did what so many others have done, have bad credit, got a CC thru them without reading any reviews. Have heard of Fingerhut for many years, so thought they were OK. I am not sure how the US is allowing this scam of a company to operate? Applied online, was approved for $600. First off, I noticed when approved, there was no info. on how to get a free copy of your credit report, the one/ones that they use to decide your creditworthiness on. Absolutely no info. on where your credit comes from, I have never seen this before. It was not on the welcome email from them either. Then I look at my account on their website, it doesn't look like they even necessarily DO pull a credit report on those of us who apply! States: "Sorry, we do not have a FICO® Score to display for you at this time." It gives a few BS reasons of why this might happen, but no concrete one at all.

Within 24 hours, this co. started blowing up my phone, I hadn't ordered anything yet, but it was an annoyance welcome to Fingerhut, or so I read online, they have not left any messages. This is a nuisance, but I see from review places like this that I am in the minority of their phone calls, some people are getting a call from them every 10 minutes. This is absolutely illegal, I recommend suing them after telling them not to call you.

Anyway, lots of calls, hang ups, no messages, all from Fingerhut. Went on their credit info. page, when you apply for credit with them, you are agreeing to this, which I bet almost no one sees in the small print: "You authorize WebBank/Fingerhut, their affiliates, agents, and others calling at their request or on their behalf to contact you at any number (i) you have provided to us (ii) from which you have called us, or (iii) which we obtain and believe we can reach you at. We may contact you in any way, such as calling, texting, using an automated dialer or using pre-recorded messages. We may contact you on a mobile, wireless, or similar device, even if you are charged for it by your provider." That means them, plus anyone they sold your personal info. to, can contact you by phone, text, and even those illegal auto dialers! So getting an account with Fingerhut = you signed away all rights to phone privacy.

Not coincidentally, within 3 business days of getting this Fingerhut account, I was inundated thru the mail with credit card offers I was supposedly "pre-approved" for. I do not ever get credit cards offers, as I declared Bankruptcy 6 years ago. Now I am receiving 3 a day from all different companies. So you can bet they also sold that personal data. I also noticed a large uptick in spam offers coming into my email. This is all right after applying for and being approved for a Fingerhut account.

Everyone should take a look at the Fingerhut credit agreement https://www.fingerhut.com/information/creditTermsConditions. It includes such things as you agree not to sue them, but use Arbitration, that they can pull your credit report over and over again just because they decided to but not having to tell you that they did this unless you psychically know and put it in writing, they are under no obligation to help you fix your credit but will report you immediately to all credit reporting agencies if you are even a minute late on paying or they just decide to report you, the APR (already high at 25.9%) "may vary and increase" essentially just because they wanted to raise it, prices published in their own print catalog are only "estimates" of what the item may cost and what you will ultimately be billed, it goes on and on.

Errors on your monthly bill? "You may call us, but if you do we are not required to investigate any potential errors and you may have to pay the amount in question." This is not on their page, but it seems that many people's Fingerhut account is being stolen and used by thieves, or they are receiving expensive items that they themselves didn't order, or they are billed for mysterious purchases, or the ordered item is never received, you are not protected. The usual credit protections that "Under the FCBA, your liability for unauthorized use of your credit card tops out at $50" do not protect you with your Fingerhut account. This is because it is NOT a credit card, no Visa or Master Card logo, it is a line of credit and is essentially a loan with very high interest. So based on this, you, your purchases, ones you didn't make, if the card is stolen or compromised, you will ultimately still be held responsible for it.

One final note, Fingerhut is based in Minnesota, but yet if you call them or the credit part of your account, it is another country! This is similar to how Sears is now operating, and you can see that they are bankrupt and closing all of their stores. If you call, you may not be able to understand them, then ask for a supervisor, they will disconnect the call. There is no oversight and they have outsourced all of their phone jobs, usually low paying jobs anyway, to India or somewhere else. Based on all of this, I am in the process of closing this Fingerhut line of credit! I have called, but I am putting it I writing to "WebBank, Fingerhut Credit Account Services, P.O. Box 1250, St Cloud, MN 56395-1250" and I highly suggest that everyone with a $0 balance does this as Fingerhut cannot be trusted and it appears I am really buying items from India when I call.

I had a perfect payment history with Fingerhut ever since I opened my account with them, having set my account up to take a payment 3 weeks before the due date. This had been going along quite well, never a problem. And then last month there were problems at their end, and then again this month. I went online, looked at what was going on.

According to my bank, Fingerhut had made no attempts to get the automatic payment I had set up for the 6th day of each month, nor after, since the last payment they received in June. Fingerhut, for their part, is claiming my bank is rejecting the payments due to insufficient account balance "NSF." Of course, if there were an NSF, I would know pretty quickly, as my bank would call me AND send out an immediate statement that day. An NSF with my bank is $38 for the first one, and if my account goes below zero, an additional $8/day, so this is something I avoid no matter the cost to myself. There were no such fees, because not only was the money in the account, no one had made any attempt to take the money out of the account. My typical end-of-month balance is around $25 each month, just in case I made an error in math, and I have a budget I stick to religiously in my computer.

According to the Fingerhut web site, they have the proper payment information needed to process the payment (usually at least 125% of whatever the stated minimum is, or $75, whichever is higher). While checking to determine what the problem was with the autopayments, I learned that I had rapidly been put over my credit limit for fees related to making a payment by phone, late fees, and over-limit fees. The extent of these fees are such there is no way I can ever get below my credit limit, unless I opt to not pay either my rent or my health coverage for a couple of months.

To add insult to injury, they opted to have the single rudest "collections agent" employee call me yesterday, while I was having a medical crisis related to the most painful nerve injury known to medical science. After about 2 minutes of her abusive conduct, I tersely told her that unless she had an MD or RN after her name, I needed to clear the line so that an expected call from my doctor or her nurse could get through. She asked why I answered the phone then, knowing it was Fingerhut? I responded that she posed an excellent question, instructed her to deal with me in writing from now on, and hung up.

They've been burning up my phone all day, to the point I simply shut the ringers off, as well as the voice mail. If they persist, I may have to block their calls outright. I feel they intentionally did not process these payments in order to justify collecting nearly $100 more each month from me, which is now way outside my budget with them.

I learned today they had already trashed my credit in July, over an alleged late payment made by telephone on the date due, and that years of early payments far more than the minimum balance had not done my credit any good, in some cases using my credit with them actually drove down my score. And now this? I tried to deal with them fairly and honestly, and made them a budget priority, even over food on a couple of really tight months, only to have them turn on me and ruin my credit along the way. My advice to others is to learn from this experience, and do not trust Fingerhut to deal with you honestly.

Needless to say it broke even though I stopped wearing it and stored it in its original box while trying to reach out to customer service. After three attempts to return the item I was finally sent a return label. Unfortunately I was denied a credit or refund due to "unreasonable and excessive wear." I wore the necklace TWICE. I was also notified that they will be disposing of the necklace and that I still owe them $54.00.

I ordered a TV stand for my son. My payments were $6.99 a month. For 4 months I paid $25. My payment of $6.99 was due yesterday. Between yesterday and today I received 8 emails and 7 phone calls wanting my payment. I was going to wait till next week when I got paid to pay another $25. Mind you I only owed $34 total. So I talked to a lady this morning and she said it didn't matter if I overpaid each month by over triple the amount owed. I still had to pay the $6.99. They charged me almost $10 because it is 1 day overdue. So, I paid off the $43 that was owed and told them to close my account. After they argued with me I said "Close it now!" It's paid off. I am done with you people! So my advice, don't use this to boost your credit because if you are 1 day late they send negative info to your credit report. This company is a crook!

Well first off I ordered an iPhone 6s from Fingerhut. I've waited now like to two-and-a-half. 3 weeks the package finally showed up through UPS SurePost and when I open the package all there was inside the box was a piece of bubble wrap and no iPhone 6s. Package was never tampered with during shipping so it was done at the shipper. Now trying to convince Fingerhut that they did not put the product I ordered in the Box before shipping. It is like pulling teeth. It's like you say they say. I am very disappointed. I've already made payments towards the phone on my account and now it sounds like I'm still going to be responsible for what's left even though I didn't, never receive the phone.

I've never had problems with Fingerhut before until now. They use an outside source for their cell phones so they're saying it's not their fault but they won't give you the outside source that they get their cell phones from so you can contact them to let them know I am so angry at this moment. I will never do business with Fingerhut ever again. Then I'm also contacting and filing a complaint with my AG office in my state that I live in and I'm also in contacting my lawyer and filing a lawsuit against Fingerhut. There wasn't even an invoice in the Box but my account has been charged and I have made payments towards it to get the payments down and it sounding like I'm out the payments and still have to pay for the phone even though I never received it. The photos below is what I received

I have had a Fingerhut account now for about a year. At first I thought it was a great idea because of the monthly payments. They said that I would have no late fees and I could even get help if I was to lose my job or any form of income that they would be able to stop my account for a while until I was working again or being able to make payments again. I was allowed $700 of credit from them. I used up to 600 some. I lost my job for a couple of months and applied for the leniency, and was denied. Then I was charged late fees that I was not aware that even existed. When I first signed up they claimed there were none, then when I talk to them on the phone they said it would be no more than maybe $5. I owe about $47 a month on my account and my late fees are up to about $38. All the sudden there's nothing I can do about it.

Again I owed about $690 total on my total account, I paid off up to the point where I had about maybe 400 left, now my account is almost at $900! And there is nothing I can do about it. I'm trying to get a hold of a credit card that maybe can consolidate my debt but I cannot be approved of one yet because I have just started working for my job maybe a month-and-a-half ago. They will not stop with the late fees. They will not stop charging me, I'm paying like three times more for everything that I bought from them and they were not sent to me with quality either. One of the things was a video game that I accidentally ordered the wrong one and I could not even return it to him and it was an $80 video game that I'm now paying for that I have no use for!

This company is an absolute nightmare. I opened an account and placed an order for an item. The site stated that because my address was a PO Box that the item may not ship to me, to update my address to a physical address. I could not do so online with a first order and had to call in, initially not a big deal. The customer service agent I spoke with said there was no need to update the address, the item absolutely could go to a P.O. Box and thus did not update my address. 5 days after the order was placed, I finally receive a call and an email stating that I HAVE to update my address to a physical address or the item will NOT ship.

Okay, tried to call in and the agent said that I could not update the address on my account, that she would send a message to the vendor to relay the change of shipping address to USPS... What?? I pushed further and the agent finally said that they could change the address IF I went through 4 random generated questions to verify my identity. The first question was about a distant relative I have no contact with and I could not answer, thus my identity could not be verified. Yet I gave you my DOB and SSN without issue and that wasn't enough?

I finally told the agent that I just wanted to cancel my order and be done with it. The agent took it upon herself to close my entire account!!! Are you kidding me?! You lowered my credit score with an inquiry AND adding a new account to my credit report just to close it out 5 days later? Evidently now I need to wait 7 days to receive a decision about whether or not they will reopen my brand new account OR make me reapply again. This company is an absolute joke and should be avoided at all costs, especially if you value your credit score.

First off I want to say that I know Fingerhut is in the business of making money. I get that, but Jesus age Christ! I have been looking at this iPad Pro 9.7 inch version (older model). They are charging $830 bucks before tax for the 32GB version. I checked this same model out on Amazon and other stores, and you can get the 32GB version for $420 bucks. Fingerhut is charging DOUBLE the price everyone else is charging AND since your financing with their high-interest-rate, you're paying even more than that. Now the newer model of the iPad Pro is out and it's a 10.5 inch model with way more upgrades and better performance, but even it still costs less that a discontinued model from Fingerhut.

Now for the phone calls. It never fails. Almost 2 weeks before my bill is due I get calls every day from Fingerhut and they leave messages saying they have an urgent message about my account. The first time I called them back to see what was wrong they said they were just reminding me that my bill was due soon and if I would like to go ahead and pay it since we were on the phone already. I cursed that woman out. You don't hassle someone over their bill 2 weeks before the due date. Needless to say I blocked their number.

I decided to order my mom a pair of Sperry Topsiders. I ordered an 11 - as they do not come in half sizes after 9.5 - and to our surprise, they were too big. I completed the return form and had the shoes shipped the very next day (5/24/17). I waited... and waited... and waited (apparently, this process takes anywhere from 10-15 business days). The 15 day mark came and went, so I decided to call Fingerhut to see if I could get any semblance of an answer. Instead, I was told that they had "never received my package, and it was likely stolen in transit", and without any kind of return slip (which I sent back to them) they couldn't help me. I was out the $70 and I wouldn't be receiving another pair, if I chose to, I was more than welcome to fill out an "affidavit" and send it in for the investigation to open, and, if they decided it was so worthy, maybe... just maybe, they'd do something about the issue.

The woman on the other end was rude, hateful, and proceeded to decide our conversation was over - at least, she was over the conversation - so she rattled off a "Thank you for choosing Fingerhut. Goodbye!" and hung up on me. I filled out the affidavit, and sent it in not once, but twice only to be told that without my shipping receipt, they "were unable to proceed". This - again - was the slip is SENT IN with the product. I did a little investigating and finally came about a return delivery tracker and to my surprise, the shoes had arrived at Fingerhut's Warren, PA (#16368) facility at 6:00 pm on June 2nd. I sent this information in (a copy of the return receipt, thanks to UPS) and a screenshot of the tracking info. I called, and - of course, they see I'm right - or so I was assured, but after this call and these emails, I'm still not holding my breath on a resolution. The customer service is abhorrent - all this trouble is NOT worth the convenience.

My mother passed away 2 months ago, and I'm settling her affairs, she had an account with Fingerhut with a very small balance but I had to contact them to notify them of her passing and get the information I needed. The lady I spoke to was very nice at first, apologized for my loss etc. She gave me a hard time in reference to an address on where to send her D.C, but I finally got it and I asked her whom do I send it attention to. She said just Fingerhut and she said nothing else but the death certificate was necessary which I thought was crazy because every other card holder I called had me send it to a specific department who handles the closing of cases etc. So I then asked what the policy is when people pass away. She said, "I don't know ma'am. I can't give you that information at this time." I said I wasn't looking for specific account information I already had that all just an answer to their policy.

She began telling me how I'm a 3rd party and that they can't give out account information to 3rd parties. I began to get very upset at this point because it's already emotional when I'm 23 and my mother is gone and I am the one handling all her affairs but I simply asked the lady how them telling me a policy the company holds is specific account information. I want to know your policy not her account number, not her balance nothing that only contains to her but the company policy on what happens when people pass. The manager even got on the phone after I requested her transfer me 5 times and she finally huffed and puffed and got him.

Took 45 minutes on hold for him to answer and I told him the same thing and he said, "You're a 3rd party, you have to wait to send us the death certificate." I said "Sir, the death certificate tells you she died. Just like me it doesn't tell you anything less so why can't you say what your policy is." He said, "We aren't allowed to tell 3rd parties." So I wound up hanging up because everyone was rude and contradicting themselves by saying that they couldn't inform a 3rd party of someone else's case but after they receive her death certificate I can call back and "try" to get my questions answered then.

Well Fingerhut obviously doesn't want my mother's $167 dollars and they won't get it either. Seriously recommend never get anything from this company! They don't even understand or know half their rules and regulations. I had no issue finding out the other credit card company's or medical companies etc. policies following a death so that the family can arrange these things! Outrageous.

Fingerhut charges way too much in interest. Even when you are a (great customer), their term, they never even offer to lower your interest rate. They also mark up the products they sell way too much. Just look up the prices of the products they sell elsewhere and you'll see what I mean. Their customer service people are all in a foreign country and are of no help. They offer (temporary credit line increases) that will only become permanent if you buy more stuff and remain in debt to them. They claim to offer sitewide discounts but look at the disclaimer to find out that most stuff on their site isn't included in the discounts. And if you chose the (no payments until) scam they sometimes offer you will find out you will be paying interest on the product until payments start. That's just a way for them to make even more money off of you. Seriously, you are better off saving your money until you can afford to purchase items outright.

I spoke with a lady who told me I didn't fill out the credit app correctly. She then preceded to scream at me telling me that it was not her fault I couldn't fill out a simple credit app. Believe it if you will, but I maintained my temper and asked her to stop speaking to me in a negative and unprofessional way. Fingerhut sent me a broken lawnmower. They knew this was broken, because the broken parts (broken pieces of wheel well that hold wheel in place) were sealed in the bag with the owner's manual and other parts (oil for the mower that comes with it) were not in the box at all. They sent me a return, an over 500 dollar (after 70 dollars shipping), over 100-pound return. I called FH immediately as I had family coming the next day from out of town. A). I needed to do the lawn before they got here. B). The box was extremely large and taking up the space needed for guests to sleep. Regardless of the issues of trying to tape back up an over 100-pound lawnmower into a box and the supplies necessary to buy to do this as best I could, I spoke to two people (including a supervisor) within an hour of receipt who basically just said there was nothing anyone could do but start the return process, which I assumed they did.

I then wrote to Customer Service online to express my frustration with the entire experience, since the phone customer service people were rude and unhelpful. I got a generic response that it "sounds like we took care of this for you." On Monday, when UPS does a delivery (from Amazon) and does not take the box, I call again. I get another phone rep who says the return process was never started. She says she will start the process, which the label has to be mailed and will take 7-10 days to complete. I apparently am expected to store their broken product for 7-10 (more) days in a box that 2 adults can fit into.

She also reiterates (as the first 2 agents I spoke with said) that if I leave it outside and it gets taken, I owe them for this broken lawnmower they sent me and I could never even use. She says she doesn't know why it was never done and, again, there's nothing she can do about it. She has, supposedly, started this return process now, although I'm not convinced. In the meantime, they still show me owing them almost 600 dollars. That is the status so far. Avoid this company at all costs!

Once they received it, they then stated that they cannot help me with the item, due to it being after the 90 days, cannot give me a credit on my account for the item and is sending it back to me. I waited for months, called at least once a week asking them where is the mattress and they would say they sent it back... but I never received it.

I called this past Monday-03/27/17 and spoke to a "Will" and he stated they disposed of if (like threw it away). But mind you, I am still being billed for the mattress that they threw out like garbage and still want me to pay the $200. They are out of their minds! I am not paying another red cent to Fingerhut! So, DO NOT ORDER FROM FINGERHUT!!! THEY DON'T LOOK OUT FOR THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

I recently got my monthly statement and did not open it since I have been making the same payment for the last year with no change. I make it on the same day of the month without fail and have not missed a payment in over a year and never been late. After I sent my payment into them a couple of days later I opened the statement and notice an increase of $23 added to my payment. I called the customer service to discuss this since I knew it would show as past due. I explained the event with the lady and she said that would be fine to add it to the next month's payment and she would make the change on my account record. Good I thought.

The next day now the India debt collectors for Web Bank started calling and I would explain the thing again by that afternoon and after the 7th call from them I told the lady that everything had been approved and on my account. She said nothing was on the record and I needed to make that payment today. I told no I would make it as the originally noted. I told her it would useless to call every hour because it had been handled. No more calls but received a letter stating they were suspending my purchasing, no credit raises and no special promotion since I had revoke my consent for them to call me. I never heard anything about this and I called the 800 number and talked for 20 minutes getting this straighten out and he said he would reinstate the consent if I sent him $100 dollars on the account today, I told no way I owed $23.

Finally he reinstated it. And I ask to speak to a manager and he said he did not have the capability to transfer and I asked him where he was located and he said in the building of Web Bank and finally said the Philippines and I fronted him about till admitted that he was in India. I told him that I didn't revoke anything and had no problem with a call but don't over do it. He said they could call anytime they wanted to and that they are not controlled by any government. Don't know why he said that I didn't mention anything about it. I asked him if he could provide me with the agreement copy about the calling and he said if I paid the $100 fee today he would send it to me. I hung up from there. I had been out of town for a couple of days and upon returning there 32 calls from the India number on my answering machine. This was before the reinstatement. So fed up with this bunch.

Please do not be drawn into the increased credit limits because of your superior handling of your account. My past excellent way that I handled my account meant absolutely nothing to them.

I opened a Fresh Start account in Dec. 2016. One of the items were defective and I contacted customer service to arrange to return. They told me they were out of stock and that once my return was credited I could use credit for another item. Well on Feb 2017 they closed the account according to TransUnion which knocked off a lot of points for closing. No one can help me and I have contacted them several times today. Gerwin from Fresh Start department kindly repeating himself because he was limited in his English. A man from the Philippines was only able to confirm that my credit was in limbo pending a decision that must be made from credit department who may or may not offer me a regular account. I can't use my credit of 75.00. I didn't ask to close account and my credit score took a hit as a listed closed account. I have attempted to fix this for weeks now. Long holds, no manager available and no resolution.

I filed a dispute with TransUnion about can take a month. My advice to anyone using Freshstart do not return anything because they mark it as a account closure since you will now receive a partial credit because remember you pay for shipping. I am certain the item I returned was less than what they charged to ship but oh well. They didn't have a replacement so a credit was issued. I can't access my credit because I tried to order something and was told I would need to use another form of payment. I think a month is long enough and I don't understand why I can't speak to someone in management.

Why they outsource calls to the Philippines when they only take calls M-F 8-5pm Central time tells me they prefer customers to be blown off and angry because they already made a dime off of us. Gerwin I hope for your sake that you were in fact telling me the truth and Dante in Account Credit I spoke with you 4 weeks ago and you filed a claim on my behalf. Sounds like trouble and don't not turn anything back. Keep broken things and pay on time then you can build your credit and deal with reputable credit offers.

What can I say? The first payment, they tried to take it twice. It's a good thing my bank notified me. I set up an account just for them so it couldn't happen again. I put only the amount of the monthly payment in it each month. Fingerhut also has an insurance co., Safe something. I didn't ask for it and still I had to cancel it. It took 4 phone calls and most of the day to do that.

Then my payment comes out of my account on the first of the month. Guess what happened Jan. 1st? Yeah, the banks were closed this year on Mon. because the 1st fell on Sun. So Fingerhut tacked on a late fee. I paid it. Today I check my online statement from them and there is a late fee. "Why?" I wonder, "The money was in there for them. They not only DIDN'T take the payment but tacked on a late fee."

I called and asked why. They said I have an attorney and they can't tell me anything about my account! "I don't an attorney... never have had," I tell them. They said in order for them to tell me anything about my account I have to revoke the attorney representation. "Grand," I say, "But I DON'T have one." I have TWO different fax #s. I'm going to do as they ask and send that letter to both of them. And just between you and me it will be very, very cold in hell before I ever buy anything for that company ever again.

After that they told me they would send me a label to put on the box and I sent it back 4 weeks ago. I refuse to pay it because I did not receive the boots that actually fit. I return them so if you need to return something make sure you do it through certified mail because if you go to the post office they will have no record you sent the package because all they do is scan a bar code on the sticker you put on the box that Fingerhut gave you so your name isn't anywhere on that package so there is no proof you sent it back. Amazon also does not finance, and Fingerhut is a great way to build or rebuild credit. With any credit company when starting credit, you pay for your credit before it pays you. There are cheap poorly made items on Fingerhut, but there's cheaper poorly made items at Walmart, Amazon, or any other place that you can think of too, but with anything that you buy online, if you're not sure, do the research.

I recently had my credit limit raise from 600 to 1200 so I figured I'd go ahead and try ordering all my gifts from Fingerhut.

First problem was that they had my old address, the one from 2 years ago even though I had several shipments delivered to my current address and never was a customer while at the old address. It was stressful getting the address corrected. I had to work it out amongst my local post office and but Fingerhut didn't help. Eventually, I ended up having most of my presents under the tree. There were two presents for my uncles that never arrived in time for Christmas and it is January 6, 2017 and I still haven't received them. According to the records they have been "delivered" since December 20, 2016. I suppose the vendor is running behind. My Fingerhut monthly payment includes the items and the shipping costs, which by the way I paid literally hundreds for shipping even though Fingerhut advertises free shipping and receive by Christmas (BAIT AND SWITCH).

I asked Fingerhut to make it right and remove the two items off my account, communicate with their vendor, and adjust my bill. They refuse to work with me and happen to be very unprofessional and rude when I call. I send emails and get the lamest responses, never addressing my complaint. My 59.99 monthly payment is due on January 20. I will pay 100.00 a month and NEVER order from them again. I won't ruin my credit over them and I can't help but wonder if I'll EVER receive my 2 missing products from them. They lost a customer! STAY AWAY FROM FINGERHUT.

NO express because their system won't allow at this time??? Come on! Why are these people still in business??? My elderly mom's order was done the same way.

However, to deal with their customer service department is a nightmare. Some products, for the price, are cheap and not what a person would order for the price you pay. Other products are a great buy... This is why the subject is "Down the Middle". I just had one of those "bad" moments. As a matter of fact, lately I've had too many of them. My account will be paid off, and I can finally say farewell to Fingerhut! I hope in the future their site becomes more user-friendly, as does their customer service department. I am sure small, independent, American-made companies would love to get their product out there... It would be nice to get a well-made product for the price you pay.

I began monitoring her account a while ago and noticed they would take anywhere from $1 to $5 for no reason. This has been happening for a long time. Recently I asked her to use her account to buy a tv. She said no problem. I got the tv and paid the minimum $60 a month early. My mother began getting bombarded by emails from Fingerhut saying you have available credit. Basically they were saying you have credit spend it. I also received these emails.

Later when I went to check the account history I noticed the $60 I had paid was gone from the available credit. Nothing was purchased after the purchase of the tv. Fingerhut is outright stealing from their customers. I've contacted them about this once before. They said they would have an account specialist contact me but they never did. Now they've stolen from my mother's account again. I'm honestly just fed up with Fingerhut and will attempt to get this account closed for her or have them pay back ALL of the money they've stolen.

There was a two set. I thought it was a good deal. I needed new sheets too and so did my boyfriend so I ordered three sets. When they came I went ahead and gave my boyfriend his. They are very nice sheets. I couldn't put mine on my bed because when my daughter came home she would see them and know I bought sheets. Well she was home for Thanksgiving and was going to buy sheets at Walmart. I had to tell her I got them. Today, I decided to put my sheets on, I mean, she already knows. When I opened them, I decided on the blue and white striped ones. I WAS MISSING A PILLOW CASE!!!

Well, I got on the phone and got one of their people who can't speak English very well. She went to find someone who could help her and then hung up on me. I called again. After a twenty minute wait, this guy went to check with someone and came back and told me he wasn't allowed to do anything because I had them for so long. People do buy things when they think it's a good deal and they do save it for a gift. I am a loyal customer. I'm never late, send my payment in early, pay things off early and have a credit limit of $1900.00. Sorry Fingerhut, I will go somewhere else. I just can't believe the I was treated that way. I've been a customer of Fingerhut's since 2014 and had set up auto withdraw payments for my minimum payment each month. In December 2015 I decided to raise my monthly payment from $19.00 a month to $24.00 a month which came out on the first of every month in 2016. In November 2016 I got a call from Fingerhut saying I had late charges that needed to be paid. I asked why and was told that Fingerhut had raised my minimum payment to $29.99 a month (without my knowledge) in July of 2016. So, on the 1st of July, August, September and October, $24.00 came out as usual but since they raised my minimum payment without my knowledge I had fallen behind leaving $5.99 overdue each month for 4 months.

While speaking with the gentleman on the phone in November, he said if I paid the 4 charges of $5.99 plus my new minimum payment I would be caught up and my next payment on December 1st would now be $34.99 (which they raised again without my knowledge.) I did receive a letter from Fingerhut stating I had made the agreement to pay $34.99 on the 1st of every month starting December 1st.

Today (12/1/16) I see Fingerhut had taken $109 out of my account! I called and asked for an explanation and no one could give me one. They kept saying it was late charges, late charges. I told them it was impossible because I had paid every month on time via ACH withdraw and was not made aware that Fingerhut raised my minimum payment until November. I explained that I made those late charge payments with my minimum payment in November so why was I being charged $109? Again, no reasonable answer.

I was on the phone for an HOUR arguing with them. I was looking at my account online the entire time and they kept stumbling over their words saying late charges because the payment went up. So my next question was why wasn't I notified of the increase? Guess what, I was told, IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT FINGERHUT TO SEE IF MY MONTHLY PAYMENT HAS GONE UP! I nearly fell off my chair. I can't believe a company as big as Fingerhut can't send an email or letter saying "Hey, you need to pay this new amount every month." MY RESPONSIBILITY??? REALLY???

After battering the poor man into oblivion, I was refunded my $109 and I told him I will make my $34.99 payment once the $109 is back in my account. THEN I'm canceling my auto withdraws and will log into Fingerhut each month and make a one-time payment. I will no longer give them access to my bank account so they can withdraw whatever amount they want! Beware! Never ever, ever, EVER give them banking information. If you're going to stay with Fingerhut or open an account with them, make your payments by check or online, DO NOT DO ACH!!! I'm exhausted from arguing with them but I felt the need to post this! All I can say is WOW, just WOW!

Updated on 12/06/2016: As in my previous post, I explained how Fingerhut took $109 out of my bank account without my prior knowledge or consent. My payment was suppose to be $34.99 which I had a letter from Fingerhut confirming that amount would be withdrawn on 12/1/16. I called Customer Service (useless) and after an hour was told they were doing a refund. That was a lie! They have NOT given me a refund and when I looked at my account online it says I am not only BEHIND a payment, I owe late charges!

Instead of calling and trying to communicate with someone who can't understand me and vice versa, I emailed customer service. My reply from them was that they could see I had contacted them recently about the issue and hoped I was happy with the results. What? How can I be happy with the results of something that wasn't done?

I wrote back and told them if they did not refund me my $109 I was going to dispute the charge with my bank since I have a letter from them stating the actual amount was to be $34.99 on 12/1/16. I am giving them until Friday and then I am going to my bank Saturday morning to file the dispute. I will not allow them to control what comes out of my bank account anymore! If I get the refund, I will be deleting my card information and will log on each month and make a one time payment. Talk about getting screwed! And they REALLY need to get people who answer the phone to speak clearly. I never said "what did you say" so many times in my life!

Although delivery is not the quickest. Not as quick as Amazon. Good place to shop if you're attempting to rebuild credit history and increase scores. My primary complaint is pricing. The price of any item at Fingerhut will be much more than retail. But if you have poor credit it's an alternative. Today I called them and I said "Give me my money back, and give me all the money that I paid in interest, that totals up to $3120!!!!" The customer service agent said "We can't do that." And I said "I need to speak your supervisor ASAP. Like now!!!" But they said that "All supervisor agents are busy and will call you back in the next day."

Then I told them "If they don't comply with my demand, then I will file a lawsuit against your company ×20 the amount of which I paid and they will talk to my attorney!!!" And I told them that they have to call me at 10:30 am. If not I will call back and tell them one more time so I can speak to their supervisor and if the same process goes again... I will say "Talk to my attorney." Now everyone DO NOT GET FINGERHUT!!! THEY WILL SCREW YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!! And don't even think about joining them... I am trying to help!! Please understand. Thank you.

At first it seemed like a really good idea, of buying something we needed and approved credit. I am on a retired disabled fixed income. They just called me telling me my payment was overdue and told me to give them a payment. Since I get paid monthly and have a payment schedule and have made in the very least the minimum payments and have paid them every single month; it confused me. I told her that I wasn't able to pay today but if she wanted to make a payment for me to feel free. She began her spiel on how much I could pay today, I hung up the phone. Then I went to the website to see my account status. It's NOT late, the payment is due tomorrow!

Why would a company call demanding payment when in fact, it's not even overdue, let alone due? A company in trouble. I will continue making my monthly payments but I will never buy anything from them again. They are one company I still receive a thick catalog from about every month to two months, telling me what a good customer I am. They shove it down your throat. Just a rude company that preys upon their customers.

I killed my credit by not using it. Years ago I was doing my taxes and realized how much money I was wasting on interest. I paid off everything, including my home and quit using my credit. Bad idea! Turns out no credit may be worse than bad credit! I had to buy a stupid Credit card. Besides the annual fee And ridiculous interest rate, my "deposit" was my credit limit. You know the drill. Fingerhut came along, I ordered a leather jacket. It arrived fast! Price wasn't bad for the quality and I had another account on my credit report. A few months later they raised my limit. I've bought several items in the past few years, all but one have been outstanding. OK the prices are slightly higher in some cases but the service is outstanding. The one item I didn't like was returned and credited without issue. They paid return shipping!

My credit limit is somewhere between $3500 - $4000.00 now and really boosted my credit score. All I did was buy a few things I liked and make the payments on time. Pretty simple concept. Here is a good trick I learned... When you open a credit account do NOT pay it off for at least 6 months. Then make sure you use it on occasion! You can even pay in full when the bill comes to avoid wasting money on interest. I don't know why but a zero balance on everything actually lowers your score. The magic number seems to be around 20% of your limit. NEVER miss a payment or be late! In a few short years you will be back on top.

Anyway Fingerhut has been good to me, good products & great service. Because of them I got several credit offers in the mail, now my score is over 700 and the only factors hurting me are "number of accounts" and "age of credit history". Still with over 700, I can buy anything I can afford without getting screwed on interest rates. You should see that too many complaints here stem from not making payments on time. Then people act surprised when things fall apart. Read the reviews and look for the patterns that emerge. Is it really the company at fault?

I have a Fingerhut account that has not been used for purchases since 2015. I have been making payments on time each month with the exception of two when I was ill and in the hospital. Being the responsible person I am, I called Fingerhut and told customer service that my payments would be late but would be there. I doubled up on two payments. I then went to use the account for a purchase in October 2016, an error warning came up telling me my account status was "under review." I called Fingerhut and I was told that due to the missed or late payments my account is going to be lowered or frozen.

I have a credit block on my credit reports so if Fingerhut tried to use one of the major reporting bureaus I would have to be contacted first. When I called into Fingerhut and explained the situation, I had my account payment history open on my computer. I was transferred to three departments between the second and the third, I do not know if the customer service representative knew the line was still open but she used some very colorful language in reference to my call. I never felt so angry in my life dealing with this company. And to top it off, the customer service representative I called from the hospital never noted anything in the computer about me be out ill and in the hospital. Horrible, horrible customer service.

What a mistake ordering from Fingerhut. They charge you super high shipping costs and never give free shipping only on your first order. They're a joke. Stay away from this company. Their products are usually a bit more but to get credit you figure well this is what I need to do but they could give some breaks on shipping costs, but they don't. Stay away from them. Their finance charges are extreme also. I paid $53.96 for one order and $49.96 for the second order and they were shipped to a 4 year old address and blamed me for the mistake. I had to drive 35.5 miles to the UPS office to pick my orders up or take the chance of them being delivered to an old address. They blamed me for the address mistake but I had ordered before and got all my orders to my home address and not a 4 year old address.

I have become a credit score junkie. After looking into one of my credit reports, I was recommended to use Fingerhut Freshstart as one to get revolving credit. Boy did I get screwed!! I had order two items from this program and was told one was on back order, which was fine. I didn't realize it was a one-time order and was told that after this was paid off on time (8 mos) that they would review my account and see if I would graduated to the advantage plan. WHAT? Okay fine!! Well I made my down payment when I was suppose to and sent an additional $20 thinking that what was due on my account screen. I later get a letter saying I didn't meet the requirements, that I had only ordered less than $50 purchase. Not true! With the 2nd item on back order it was a total of $150. After numerous calls to the company and speaking to folks that didn't speak my language too well, conversation barrier!! I became pissed!!

Now after 6 weeks they decide to send off my microwave and keeping telling me that I have to start a new account with another down payment to even be consider for advancement. I already have one account that I was never late and now they want me to open a second and order more stuff. I stayed on the phone with this company for 2 hours, and all I got out of it was talking to several different people, me repeating the same information, and them canceling my microwave!! This company sucks period!! Now I have to worry about my credit reports. Don't know if they are going to demand a payment for something they cancelled!! BUYER BEWARE!!

I ordered a bookshelf from Fingerhut nearly two months ago. Since then I've had over six calls and or emails to customer service as I only received 1/2 of the boxes that contained the necessary pieces for me to assemble the shelf I bought. I was told by the first three representatives that they would make arrangements for me to either be sent a box (as the original box was destroyed in shipping and is not of average size) or be able to send the item back without a box. The last time I spoke to a representative I was told that they would not be sending a box nor would they be accepting the item back loose nor would they be sending the other half of the item.

I was forwarded to a customer service manager's voicemail and told that I would be given a call back within one business day. It has now been over a week (5 business days) and I still have not been given any sort of suitable resolution. I was told that I could get 10% off the item as a resolution and that was the best they could do for me. It's not right that I'm expected to pay for an item that is not usable and never has been because of a shipping error on their part. I have half a bookshelf and have for about two months now and continue to get the run around.

They give me a credit line increase every other month or close to it. I make the purchase then I sign up for auto pay. They have helped my credit score jump up to where now. I have 3 Capital One cards and over 30 department store cards. Any time I have had any problems they have assisted me. Yes I got 1 late fee but I paid it ‘cause I was late making the payment. So after that I set up auto pay, to avoid interest. Just pay off the balance before the due date. Thanks Fingerhut for helping me go from a 380 -700 credit score. You helped me when everyone else said no.

I have never dealt with Fingerhut in my life but know a lot of people that do. I know that about half of them will absolutely discontinue with this company when they know what went on today with this, what should have been a simple request. I have been trying to cancel my deceased daughter's account. Sent an email over two weeks ago and got the automatic response that I would hear back within 24 business hours. Haven't heard squat and did I mention that it has been over two weeks. Today I decide to call and get it done. Took 5 phone calls. I must have dialed the wrong number (the one on the back of the Fingerhut Advantage Card that says "Customer service 1-800-208-2500" is not the correct one). So the girl I am talking to and trying to understand says she needs to transfer me to...wait for it...customer service. 20 minutes on hold and finally someone answers. OOPs wrong customer service.

He transfers me again but actually cuts me off. I call back and get another girl. She starts talking and all of a sudden all I hear is that I have been randomly selected to do a quick survey. If you don't want to take the survey it hangs up. By the way I heard this every time I called or got transferred. Did not want to take your stupid survey. Anyway I call back again with the exact same result. She starts talking and then the survey thing is back. Again it hangs up because I wouldn't do the survey. Call back again and I am fuming. Did get a lady that I could understand and explained the situation to her and of course I am still hot as hell and she tells me that she is a mother and she understands. Well that's all it took I went off on her like nobody's business telling her that she doesn't understand unless she tragically lost her child in a house fire. Anyway after another call I got some guy that took care of what I was trying for two weeks to get done.

He said he needed a copy of the death certificate so I ask for a fax number or email. He apparently has no email so got the fax number. Got two pages ready and loaded into the fax machine, dialed the number and sat back with a big sigh of relief, thinking that I was finally done with this one. Guess what, phone rang like 20 times with no answer. I thought maybe it was busy so I waited a few minutes and redialed. Again the same result. After trying for a third time I decided if they need this certificate they can call me and make arrangements. I don't care if they ever get it now because I have done all I can do. Decided to call one more time because now I WANT to take their survey. Takes about 2 minutes they say. Rate the questions on a 1 - 5 scale with one being highly dissatisfied and 5 being completely satisfied.

Already I knew that wasn't going to work because highly dissatisfied don't even come close to what I was feeling after dealing with the people I dealt with this morning. I now have their "contact us" page saved as a favorite and plan on send something every day until I hear back from someone that will actually help me. If I were you I would most definitely think twice about dealing with this outfit. Just read a few reviews and that will tell you what you need to know.

Same thing happens that night of the due date & on Sunday am and pm. So I get a call at 8am on the dot telling me Im past due I now owe a late fee of so & so. I tell them I tried calling explained the situation and asked how this would affect my credit as now it's Monday. Two days after I am due. They said it WOULD negatively impact me as all late payments do but would see if they could waive the late fee.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told none were available and that we needed to proceed with my payment. I responded and got put on hold for 25+ mins. I hung up as I was getting my daughter to her sitter. Once I got settled at work I called and spent four hours of my life asking for a supervisor getting transferred and explaining the situation over and over. I was even told I did not call and try to make my payment this weekend. Never once have I ever been late so the accusation is bogus!! Buyer beware.

I bought a LED TV from Fingerhut last December. Hooked it up to Dish Network and 2 weeks ago I suddenly lost the connection. All I got was a "No Signal" message on all 3 HDMI ports. I was able to get a connection through AV input but I lose about half my channel because AV doesn't support a hi-def signal.

Anyway, I called Fingerhut because the TV is under warranty and they told me to call a company called A and E to have the TV repaired.

I called A and E and they told me the TV was under warranty but I'd have to call RCA to schedule repairs. I called RCA and the repair guy showed up yesterday. He checked the set out and said that the board would have to be replaced, and that it would cost me $115, due then. He said he would then order the board and replace it when it came in. I explained that the set was under warranty and he said his "information" showed that I purchased it in December 2012, so it was out of warranty. I showed him the label on the TV that showed the set was manufactured in September, 2015 and he said the serial number indicated that it was sold in December 2012.

So I refused to pay and called Fingerhut back. They said that there was nothing that they could do because they don't service what they sell. I asked about getting a replacement for the defective set and they said that that was not their policy. So I told them that I had a policy too: I don't make payments on crap that doesn't work. So we'll see what happens from here.

So I initially applied for Fingerhut credit about a year ago or so. I started off with a 300 credit limit. Bought some stuff, was making my payments on time and of course more than the minimum payment, a few months ago I got. Credit increase to $600.00 dollars. Hadn't use any of it since my first purchase. Wanted to pay off my account in full first before buying something else. So finally paid off for my entire account in full. And then about 2 weeks later I tried to purchase something and they declined my purchase. WTF. They said I had to contact credit services because my account was under a credit review. I'm like ok? I was like well maybe they will increase my credit since I've paid off my acct and made my payments on time.

So it was already too late to contact them because they were close already. So I had to contact them the next day. And they said they will send me a letter with their decisions on the credit review, and said they could not disclose any information over the phone. So I checked my account last night and it reflected a available credit of $100.00 dollars. I was like WTF? I guess if you don't use their available credit when they want you to they decrease it. That's just pretty ** stupid to me. Whatever. I'm not too happy with this company and their practices. So I will be calling them on Monday and closing my account.
