I have never been so irritated with a company I have done business with in my life. I go to place my first order, but previously I had moved, and needed to change my address with them. They would not allow me to change my address, so I had to hunt down my order at an old address. Unbelievable. Then I had to place my order 4 times, before it was actually taken. Then, half of my order never showed up. Thankfully they refunded my money for the items that never showed up.
To make matters worse, I call up to make a payment on my account and they would not take a payment, even after 3 customer service reps. I now have to wait for a supervisor to call me back in order to make a payment. I can't even make a payment on the website because it tells me my information is associated with another website. It makes absolutely no sense at all. I don't owe a lot, but I am an honorable individual and I pay my debt. I know that they report to the credit bureaus. I am not about to have such a crummy company ruin my credit because they don't want to take a payment. DON'T do business with this company. They don't even deserve any stars. Who are you supposed to get help from in order for a business to be equitable business?

I have been using Fingerhut for a while now and it isn't until recently I had several occasions with Customer Service regarding my account. They have been overcharging me my minimum payment and when I call to ask about it Customer service is very rude and impatient. I'm a senior citizen so I tend to ask questions more, especially if I am unable to understand them. I asked the guy who was helping me for his name and supervisor's name and he would hassle me and would not give me a name or number to reach them. I asked him several times and he refused.
Finally he gave me a name that sounds made up and a number to a survey company that had nothing to do with Fingerhut. Very dissatisfied with how Fingerhut lets their customer service people talk to their customers. Something needs to be done and better training skills. I will soon close my account and never use their services again. Be very careful when using autopay because they are real quick to double charge you and then make an excuse as to why it was charged. I've already called my bank to let them know to not allow Fingerhut make charges on my account.

I’ve been a Fingerhut customer for the past 6 months... I make sure my payments are paid before the due date, below 30% of credit used and my balance was increased. Each month I’d have to contact Fingerhut and inform them my credit wasn’t reported...but it’s either the person on the receiving end doesn’t speak English nor know absolutely nothing about Fingerhut. Most items I buy are very expensive and I make sure I pay at a minimum of 80% of the bill but my credit score isn’t reported or lowered because I called and yelled at the people who report to the credit bureaus...total rip-off. I’d never buy anything else from these sorry people again... Hurts your credit score more than helping. Complete rip-off.

I purchased a crock pot and a bedding set with two pillows as well on the FreshStart program. My crock pot arrived broken. One of the pillows was not included on the order. I called and they said a return label was sent with the item already. I went to the post office to ship the item and was told that the label was not sufficient and I would have to pay shipping. Mind you, I had to take time off work to do this. I called again about it and was told that a new label would be sent. I was also repeatedly informed I could not add the missing pillow to the order.
TWO WEEKS LATER the label comes in. They call me to take payment for the broken crock pot. I pay for the broken crock pot, and ask again about the pillow. I am told I cannot add it because it is a FreshStart account. I asked if I could just purchase the pillow cash since a mistake was made and it was not included in the order like it should have been. I am told yes but I would be paying $14.99 more in shipping! I felt a reasonable accommodation for all the time taken off work, the phone calls, and the payment for the broken crock pot I've never been able to use is that they offer to waive my shipping on the pillow which SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Absolutely no accommodations are made to correct their errors, the timing, and poor customer service. Still no pillow, still no crock pot, and I am still paying for this. RUN AWAY. DON'T BUY FROM THEM. THEY HAVE NO CONCERN FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. AWFUL. I will go out of my way to tell people to stay away because it was such a bad experience.

They have a horrible idea of what good customer service is. They will tell you it's all the bank for why everything takes so long, yet still advertise order today (like on a Friday) and get it by the next Monday. That is not going to happen. It will be about 2 to 3 weeks before it even gets a label to ship, and then take days to leave the warehouse. The website claims that purchase with a debit card clears in 24 hours, it will take about a week, an EBT(electronic bank transfer) takes weeks to clear. That is something that is instant money transfer. So why does it take a week, they don't know. The most common response you will get from a representative. Good luck finds find somewhere else to build credit.

I have been using Fingerhut for 7 years, never missed a payment. Ordered a Christmas gift for my daughter. Received some other random item. Call their vile, outsourced customer service and was told to "simply" return the incorrect item (real simple in a busy city during the holiday season) and repurchase the item and call back to have it credited? Um... How about send me the correct item??? I refused this, return the incorrect item. I receive email confirmation they have received it. Spoke to a representative who told me. Allow "24 to 48 hours" to receive the credit.
Days pass, no credit. Call two weeks ago and was told to allow "24 to 48" hours to receive the credit. Days pass, call again, was told, you guessed it! "24 to 48" hours. Still have not been credited. Spoke to a supervisor (final boss in the Indian Call Center) and guess what she told me? I'll wait...yep! 24 to 48 hours. It's been 24. After 48 I am making a Better Business Bureau complaint. I will do that in 24 to 48 hours.

Do not shop with these people!! I thought they would be a good idea, since I was short during the holidays. One item, (pajama bottoms), ripped the first night. That same order did have multiple items, but not until after I paid, did they cancel the items, (which was fine if I got my money back for them), but still charged me $38.00 in shipping!! For 2 items and one of them was damaged! I contacted them through e-mail and they said they wouldn't give me back any of the shipping money. So it cost me $38.00 for a shirt and poorly made PJs that ripped. These people are awful. I understand making money, but this is just robbery and taking advantage... (Oddly their card is called advantage, how accurate for them.) Awful!! Please do not do business with them!!

I appreciate the opportunity to build my credit and to purchase unusual quality items I couldn't afford to purchase if I had to pay the price up front.

I purchased a cookware set and received the wrong color. I called customer service and advised them of their error. I returned the wrong item and received the correct item. However, I was billed for both. I have been calling for over a month trying to get my account credited. I finally request a supervise. I spoke with Kim and after a lengthy conversation she said she would credit my account the $200. Minutes later she calls back saying they shipped another cookware set and will receive it on Jan 20th. I told her that was another error and to cancel the order. She said she couldn't until I return the item. I have never given a review online. But I hope this prevents anyone from dealing with this type of company. I told the supervisor to close my account which that she could do. If I could have rated them with zero stars I would have.

I had the worse experience possible in dealing with your company. I first ordered a Canada Coat from you guys which went over the spending limit and I was happy to pay the difference. When my coat arrived and I tried it on it was the wrong size and color. I quickly wrapped it back up and sent it back the next day. It took a while for the item to be registered as returned even after I received a return received receipt. The money was slow about entering the account which was ok. The coat was out of stock so I had to order something else. I found a pair of boots I really wanted and even bought a Carhartt coat to match in anticipation of its arrival. I placed the order online and waited for my boots that never came. I checked on-line to find that I had no order status or tracking number.
After calling customer service they told me that I had to order on-line. So I did. They told me the money I sent in would not be credited to my down payment but subtracted from the back end of the payment amount. This bothered me but I agree because I really wanted the boots. I paid the money and the difference. The customer representative assured me that the order had been placed. I received an e-mail telling me the order had been received yet days later the boots did not arrive and there was no tracking number. After calling a twice I was told that I had to wait 24 to 48 hours to make another order. This seemed really unfair so I asked to speak to a supervisor. The first time I was hung up on and the second time the rep gave me a hard time until I finally reached a supervisor.
The supervisor, named Wanda, spoke in a very condescending tone and I knew she was searching for a way to deny me rather than help me even though I was willing to pay for the boots. After suffering through what I knew would not be in my favor, she told me that since the first item was returned I couldn't go over the limit even if I paid the difference like I did the first time. It didn't matter that I was trying to spend more money. She would not make a exception regardless of all the trouble I had been through. She said she would rather give me a refund.
I been going through this since November 28th. This is now January 3, 2019. I have called many times and paid twice and still haven't been treated like I am a valued customer. All I wanted was: Carhartt Men’s 6" Internal Met Guard Boot - Wide. Item Number: NBHGZ. Options: Black,13. I now have a $225.00 coat that is no good. I am severely dismayed and disappointed. That is why I feel it is my obligation to report my horrible experience, to keep this from happening to other people and potential customers.

This is the worst bank. They charge erroneous fees, never break down the rates and they outsource their customer service and the customer service reps do not know how to communicate properly. Warranties go unnoticed and they give you a hard time replacing items clearly defective. I wish I had looked up the reviews prior to entering into any credit agreements with WebBank. They are worse than the major banks. If you are considering a Fingerhut account DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BANK on any credit terms. If you are going to purchase on a monthly term better off shopping QVC or Evine or HSN. The terms and conditions are better and they will charge your card on a monthly breakdown.

I ordered a jewelry armoire for my wife for Christmas. I received an e-mail stating the item would be shipped and I would receive the item on Dec 21. When the item didn't arrive I was informed I would get it on January 3. I purchased another one from a local retailer and called Fingerhut to cancel. The item arrived On January 3.
I wanted to send the item back and was informed that once the item was received by Fingerhut they would refund the cost of the item and the taxes but not the shipping cost. SO I am out $38 for an item I could not use. When I attempt to call customer service they transferred my call from one department to the next and never could get a suitable answer. I feel ripped off. I purchased a waist belt and I returned it because it didn't look anything like it was online. the return process says it takes 10 business days however it's taking about 20 days to get a return still haven't gotten a credit on my account. When I call to find out what was taking so long they informed me that the item was damaged and they were charging me a return fee for shipping because my reason for returning was not valid. I took this item out of the package for about 2 minutes, got the photos, sent it to my boyfriend, put it back in the package and returned it the next day. When did it get damaged I have no idea. They must have sent it to me damaged.
I closed my account. I will not be ordering anything else from them again. I would recommend if you need to order something don't ever return it. This is the second issue I had with this company. Fingerhut is an absolute, total scam! I'm attempting to rebuild my credit so I decided to apply for an account. I was approved and bought a new phone. My first payment was due yesterday for $27.96. I made a $40.00 payment...yesterday. Today I check my account to make sure it's posted and not only has the $40.00 payment not posted, they've added an additional $15.00 to my balance. The payment area shows a payment made but my due date is still showing that I have a payment due yesterday. WTF??
So, I call them to see if I can figure out what's going on. The first person checked my account and then put me on hold to see what she could find out. About 1 1/2 minutes into that and I'm disconnected. Okay, I call back. This person tells me that payments are due by 5 pm on your due date and since I made my payment at 5:23...it was late and they added a late fee. Again, WTF!?
I asked where I could find that info in the Terms and Agreements and she kept cutting me off to keep telling me that it was late. After a couple of minutes of me telling her how that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard and that I can't find that info anywhere, she says she's going to reverse the late fee charge. I then ask her why my 40.00 payment isn't being reflected on my balance and she tells me it takes up to 48 hours to reflect on my balance. It didn't take that long for their bogus late charge to reflect on my balance!
Even though she says she reversed the charges, I still press her about where does it say there is a cutoff time in the terms. Just because I can't find it doesn't necessarily mean it's not there right? I mean, I could be missing it. I did bring up the search tool and searched due date, due, 5 and five to see if any of those would bring up that info... It did not. So anyway, she says she's going to go find that info and needs to put me on hold. I was on hold for about 2 minutes and once again, was disconnected. Imagine that. As of me writing this post, the supposed reversal still is not reflecting in my account but I guess that one will need 48 hours to show up too. It really makes me wonder how many people they do this to that don't question their tactics?

I have used Fingerhut for three years. With poor credit, and it is a poor credit company, I use it to buy gift items at Christmas and birthdays, that I may not afford otherwise. That's a plus for me. And my credit score is improving. However, although my experiences have mostly been okay, I have had instances that sour those good experiences.
My first purchase was a room full of curtains. All the panel pairs had one curtain shorter than the other. Following purchases included wrong sizes. I bought both granddaughter's boots. One pair came a size too small, and the other pair came in a size 4 (according to the box) when I ordered a size 2. The size 4 actually fit her size 2 feet. Don't buy anything with sizes!
I've also ordered a SensorPedic Contour Pillow. It was a SensorPedic. But not a contour. I needed another one anyway, so I didn't even try to return it. In desperate need of a vacuum, I found a fairly priced vacuum available on Fingerhut. But when I checked out the item was 'out of stock'. I ended up buying a vacuum, which I love, at highly inflated prices. The shipping really seems overpriced, as are the most of their items.
Returns or credits are next to impossible. I've always had my items delivered, pretty much right on time. I have had one item that took four days longer, and it said delivered on the correct day. I realize many items are shipped from the manufacturer, but sometimes it feels like the manufacturers send overstocks or irregulars to Fingerhut customers.
They never give deals to longtime customers, they never give deals on shipping, they never lower your interest rate, regardless of the time or use of your account. The best they give you is an increased credit line to spend more money. Contacting customer service is a nightmare, and in my case I got a form letter that had nothing to do with my problem. Fortunately, my girl decided to put on the boots, and we found they fit. I'd say 75% of my experiences have been good, but if you are going to order from Fingerhut very often, expect to run into an resolved problem at some point. I would suggest you research the item, and if it is available on a store shelf, it's just easier to return them to a store.

Low credit customers are barred from saving money??! Ok). Then second woman said I have to use my entire credit line AND pay my $30 deposit today to qualify!! So I’m done. I’m out. Guess it’s good I had this happen and that I started reviewing their reviews!! Not one single good review. And I read almost half a days worth of reviews. WOW!

Ordered 2 jerseys and a pair of pants. They promised fast delivery, I waited almost 3 weeks for the products. I only got 2 of them, then when I go online I find out they cancelled the other product I ordered. Then the 2 products I got in the mail weren't the right sizes. I sent them back and promptly followed all the instructions on the return slip. When I called to find out about my order they still hadn't processed my order. When I called to cancel my order and get my money back, I find out that the 30.00 deposit I won't be getting the full amount back. It cost me 25.99 to get my order cancelled and then they had the gall to tell me they will send me a check. Will never shop Fingerhut again. Do not use this place to rebuild your credit. I ordered over $200 worth of items from them and they shipped it to my old address even after I had called and gave them my new address two times. I ordered the items on November 12th and here I am on November 20th still waiting for my stuff that the post office says is being forwarded back to the sender in another week's time.
I've already been on the phone with Fingerhut customer service reps 5 times since I placed my order trying to fix my address but they are so rude. They just keep giving me the run around - very unprofessional. And they have these very strong accents that make it so hard to understand what they're saying. All they do is keep repeating themselves and when you try to get them to explain things they just blow you off and try to get you confused by saying a bunch of irrelevant things that make no sense. I've even been hung up on various times and don't even bother asking for a supervisor or manager because they'll just put you on hold and never come back.
This is by far the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Finally today I decided to cancel the order and ask for my refund of $60 that I paid for down payment since my credit limit was only $180 and the customer service rep is now saying that I only paid $30 so they will only refund that amount so I basically got ripped off for $30. I have proof from my bank statement that they took out $60 from my account so they clearly ripped me off. Stay away from this company if you care about your money and your sanity because they will ruin your day very fast.

I ordered over $250 worth of items and somehow they shipped to an old address that I have not lived at for YEARS. I changed the address and sent it to my correct one, I know I did this. They refuse to send me a refund because I “waited too long to inform them.” That’s not a good enough excuse. It was two months. These items were early Christmas shopping gifts so I didn’t think of it again until much later when my sister asked if I ever got my items.
The lady on their customer service was so rude. I had no idea they were allowed to be so hateful and rude but they are. And good luck speaking to a manager or supervisor because she said that they would say the same thing. She put me on hold to “go get him” but came back 5 min later to say he was busy. Yeah right! She never went to go get him. I am so outraged. This has hurt my credit score so badly. I would have most definitely paid for my items had I received them. This has never happened to me in my life. Guess grandma doesn’t get her Christmas gift since the bedsheets she ordered never came and I have to pay back Fingerhut plus $200 IN LATE FEES!!!

Well... I've been a good customer for a year 1/2 now. Never missed one payment, always a few days early. I always sent money orders. For some reason I sent my payment out this month like normal same amount like I always do. They kept calling me telling me they haven't received my payment yet and it's late. I said, "No you should have gotten it already." So they asked me to email the money order stub so I did and they also asked me if I would make another payment. I said, "No, why would I pay you twice if I already paid you." So I called to track my money order. They said it was received and cashed on November 9th... so they took my money and are saying they didn't receive it. I want to know where's my money?? They told me I needed to pay a late fee now totaling to $30 or my credit was going to be affected.
I already paid them $25. So I paid again so I didn't have any problems. But still where's my money?? They can't tell me. I emailed them again, now they are saying they received a money order on November 2 and it wasn't for the same amount on my money order stub. Humm, that's weird. I never mailed a money order out any time before the November 2 and my amount is always the same. So I asked them to please send me proof of this and they are now saying they been trying to call me for more information. I have Verizon never once gotten a phone call, it's not even on my call log. And another thing if let's say they received a payment on the 2nd why didn't they put that on my account. It's not there. Lies, lies and more lies!! Has anyone had any problems like this? If so please try to contact me because this isn't right and something has to be done.`

I ordered a HP Laptop on June 22, 2018. The item was on back order so I did not receive it until July 20, 2018. I decided I did not need to returned in, un-opened, according to the return instructions that were provided in the shipping box. Fingerhut acknowledges receiving it on September 4, 2018. They kept billing me for this item and when I called and told them I had returned according to the instructions that came with the computer the representative told me that all electronic products must be returned within 30 days of the day the order was placed.
First of all due to it being on back-order that was impossible. Second of all they told me the return policy can be found on their website. However the printed material in the shipping box states there is a 30-day return policy, it does not say anything along the lines of "please refer to our website for information about our return policy". The representative on the phone could barely speak English, and kept asking me if there was anything else she could help me with. When I asked her to explain what she meant by "anything else" as she clearly had not helped me in any way, she just kept repeating, "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
Fingerhut shipped the laptop to me a second time. I called UPS and told them I was not accepting the shipment so they came and picked it up and sent it back to Fingerhut. Fingerhut continues to send me statements for a computer that I do not have. I wrote a letter to the company CEO and received a reply from Vi **, in which he/she acknowledged the facts as I have described, and still insisting that I owe them $600 for a laptop computer that "was disposed of" per the letter from Vi **. My next step is with the Illinois Attorney General. In my opinion it is a crime to insist a person pay for something that they do not have and that was disposed of by the company. Hopefully they donated it to a school.

When I went online to Fingerhut site to track my product, the UPS label that was affixed to the basketball game, was showing up on Fingerhut website as the one used for the pool pump.
I have sent multiple pictures of the box showing the label affixed with the small little basketball game in it, I’ve sent them a copy of the UPS investigation showing one of the packages is still missing as of this day and reflecting that its contents, per UPS website, is a “45 pound pool supply” from their vendor, Blue Wave Pools, yet nobody in their company can understand and put two and two together even though I’ve sent them multiple pieces of documentation including pictures!!! I ordered a Bulova watch back at the end of September. As of October 8, it said the shipping label had been created. It sat at that status for several more weeks, so I called Fingerhut Customer Service 3 times to figure out why my item hadn't shipped from the distributor. Only after the third call did they inform me I had to submit an affidavit. I did, and received a reply today (the 30th) saying it showed the item was both ordered AND shipped on October 8, and that I would be charged for the item, as their records showed it was delivered, even though the tracking link they provided clearly showed USPS was still awaiting the item.
This defies logic, of course, so I called and spoke to "May" -- after being put on hold for an inordinately long time, she informed me I would have to file a police report. I told her the item was never shipped, so there was no missing or stolen item to be investigated. She interrupted me with "Mm hmm, mm hmm, thank you very much, thank you very much" and would not let me finish speaking.
Customer Service is abhorrent and not at all helpful. The "Dear Valued Customer" response to my affidavit that I received was obviously churned out of some database. I can guarantee no human EVER investigated my affidavit. I will never spend another cent with this company. By the way, this is the first negative review of a company I have ever submitted in my life. Steer clear; I don't think real human beings work in this company. Everyone should do themselves a favor and avoid Fingerhut like the Plague. Got a letter in the mail from these misfits about 5 weeks ago that basically was a ruse to get an immediate payment which I made. It stated the account would then be current and up to date. My new statement came yesterday and to my surprise the payment was posted, but according to these fools the account is still past due. The payment I made was done before the due date so obviously the left hand has no clue what the right is doing, and it doesn't care either. Forget calling, you can't understand what half these people are saying since they are either Indonesian or Pilipino. Let's farm jobs out to maximize profit and dollars. Since I have not heard back from these fools yet I took the letter and latest statement to Legal Aide and found out they are trying to double dip on late fees.
It is unethical and in some states illegal. I will make the regular payment but in no way shape or form their additional late fee. This company already has a major class action suit heading to federal courts, so obviously they have learned nothing. If any more develop, sign up. This outfit should not be allowed to do business as they prey on credit challenged people and abuse their rights every turn of the corner. Overpriced items, that have a shipping fee built in, and predatory shipping charges on top of that. Once again, "Double Dipping". They need to be shut down once and for all.

I wasn't sent a shipping label for return of product. So I was just going to pay the shipping. But it cost as much as the product to send it back. So I called the 800 number to have them send me a shipping label. I was told to call back Monday through Friday. I had called on Saturday because I work through the week and can't be on my phone at work as I would lose my job. I was informed that they couldn't do returns. Only orders.
After calling three times, talking to three different people, and informing them that I would keep calling back, they finally agreed to send me the shipping label. I made a comment that "what's the point, I might as well close it" but never officially said to close it, well the rep went ahead and closed it after the call anyway, which drastically affected my credit score from having a long-term credit line removed.
I have tried several times several hours on several calls for them to reopen the account which they say they can't do and I have to reapply, which in credit terms makes it a New account and not an established account. I asked them to prove to me that I said to close the account and no one can seem to find the recording and REFUSE to reopen it. I call the executive level customer service also by the way does not care to do anything and all of a sudden she says that the Supervisor listened to the call and said I said to close it. I started out very excited with this company and did well. Paid on time. Credit was given fairly fast and had no problems. Once I got over the $1200 mark they suddenly started having issues with deductions when I paid. I was paying a set amount we had discussed over the due amount monthly more than the due. The date got changed from when I could pay it on my once a month pay date. I took three pay cycles to get that fixed but they never removed the fees. They added charges for an NSF they caused which was in them when the payment date was changed without my knowing. The credit went up and those issues repeated again. It took longer to fix and they never gave me full credit for the first issue. By the time I had $1900 showing in debt most was after my last Christmas I spent with them I and that was after they had added a ton of interest and other fees.
I had called over 89 times asking them to fix the issues with payments I have made. They admitted in emails and calls that my billing date was rolling over into a late status by one day every month because someone failed to fix the date as asked. It had been fixed at one point but when they adjusted the credit it reset and they didn’t bother to fix it as it was clearly noted and shows that at one time was fixed. This is somehow my fault as the client. They refused to do it then. I also was denied a reimbursement of all the late fees and any help to lower the bill hundreds of dollars. I would have only owed these people about $480 at one point if this was done properly. Instead I went 2 years with rolling late account fees and interest on $1000 instead of them deduction my payments of $180, $106 $99 for months in end. I mean even at $99 for a year it would have paid down 1700 a good bit.
They still claim I owe them that and more now. They never allowed the lost wage or medical care to be applied when I asked for it in January of the year right after I ordered. I got very ill and needed oral surgeries. I was denied that twice. This company is not fair to the people who pay for those services. I carry a bad credit balance in this account when they have been paid and offer protection for your credit and account but don’t allow you to access it. Scam is all they are. Do not open an account there. Find a credit union. It is hard to start credit but these places are rip offs. Trust me. I learned the hard way.

A refund that I am still waiting for went from 3 business days to 3 to 5 business days to 20 business days to 3 to 5 business days back to 20 business days. Then I asked, "Why has the number of business days switched between each of your reps?" She responded that she is very sorry for the inconvenience and that they need to be retrained and the reason why it's 20 business days is because of the type of debit card I used so then I knew that she was just fishing at that point. I opened this account with the only intention of improving my credit. I got approved for a 700$ credit limit in June. My first purchase was a baby bouncer for my little girl. The total was a little over 30$ than the typical everyday price but I had found a coupon so it made it reasonable, but then the shipping was crazy high. Like almost 20$?! I bought it anyway because I knew I needed to purchase something to open a line of credit. It arrived maybe 10 days later. I assembled it with mostly no problems, I say mostly because one of the holes didn't quite line up correctly on the base, so I'm not sure if it was actually a faulty product from the manufacturer and offered to Fingerhut for a discount or maybe they were just made like that.
With some serious force I got it to connect. Well, they didn't make me pay a payment the following month but I sent in 25$ anyway. The following month after that, I actually had a payment schedule set up and they wanted me to pay 9$ a month until it was paid off. Well I paid 50$ the following month, because heck, why not?! The month after that they gave me a 500$ increase on my credit with them. I've purchased one more item since then and it arrived the week after I ordered it. I ordered on one of their free shipping days, and the item I wanted was actually 5$ cheaper than at Walmart.
Honestly I haven't even opened the box, because it's a Christmas present for my friend's child but I'm sure it's fine, it's like a tent. Not much you could mess up there. My credit has gone up at least 20 points since opening the account with them after just 4 months. I paid the down payment of $30.00, then paid off the balance of $50.00 the following month, then they upgraded my fresh start account to a regular account with a credit limit of $300.00, however they want me to call them to verify my account? Really? No one said anything about having to call anyone once verified, I do not like phones, and for the most part I hate them. There is not enough selection, and wide variety of products. I will tell you the truth. There was a Kaito Emergency portable radio that I always wanted, and I wanted to buy it along with the bath towels, and when I ordered it, they gave me an order number. A day later, they went along and canceled my radio receiver order, but still kept on sending me the towels. I called them up many times to ask why is this order been canceled? They told me that they were out of stock. Okay, so I told them, "If it's out of stock, why does the website say it's in stock? And they tried to correct it and they let me place a second order for that emergency radio, and the same thing happened. They canceled the order.
I wish they would keep their website accurate and have more products available to buy and quit canceling my orders of the things I want to have from them. This month I went somewhere else outside this company and placed an order for radio, and it got here in the couple of days. Now I have to call in the order instead of placing the order online, so I won't run into this. Their catalogs and website are a waste of time to find things, and if you're going to order something, before to call in for price and availability.

This company preys on the poor/low-credit population. At the time of viewing Fingerhut's commercials I deemed them a great way to shop. After reviewing items online, ordering ($500 limit) items (bar stools, patio set) all items came unassembled and with manufacturing defects. I was advised (by my maintenance team) that the legs of one of the bar stools would have to be cut to make the hardware (nails) align with new holes needed to be drilled!! I am amazed at what some companies will do and attempt to engage the average consumer. I've contacted Fingerhut repeatedly with no compromise. Each piece I ordered did not match, was of extremely poor quality, and unable to use. My only choice was to give the pieces away to charity. Any consumer would make a wiser choice shopping at your nearby Walmart. This company should be ashamed.

I put a claim with USPS and filed a police report but Fingerhut did not help me at all. They said I still have to pay for an item I did not get as well as the warranty. Fingerhut will not resolve your issue and bombard you with catalogs. In my case Fingerhut would not let me choose the delivery address of my first two and only orders because it was not my billing address. I called them and they refused to change it on my orders. I no longer reside at my billing address even prior to signing up to Fingerhut.
Needless to say someone is enjoying a brand new computer. The apartment home is abandoned and they allowed an electronic computer to be dropped off with no signature and didn't inform anyone that I told them I do not reside there. I sent in an affidavit to open investigation and they quickly closed it. Now they want a police report for an item delivered to a place I no longer live in, in order to reopen an investigation. This company did nothing to help me out with my issue. They never contacted me back to explain or say sorry for their customer service representative disrespect towards me. I was in the hospital and decided to open a new account with "Fingerhut", I went online and viewed all the products they had to offer. Now being in the hospital and being on medication, it was the smart thing not to order anything while in the hospital. I guess, I was going to buy a new JBL wireless speaker. I called as soon as, I got out and spoke with a customer service representative and the email below will explain when, happened. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this!
"Attention Fingerhut customer service, I am what you would consider an extremely loyal customer. I was introduced to Fingerhut by 'amazon.com'. Now this being my first time ever ordering from your company you could say, I was extremely not pleased by the way, I was treated by the individuals that I was speaking to in the Philippines. After speaking with somebody from customer service, I informed them that I did not want to keep my first order which was a 'JBL Flip 4 Portable Bluetooth Speaker'. After informing this person that, I decided to change my order and go with (Western Digital My Passport 3TB External Hard Drive) for my first-time purchase with Fingerhut.
The customer service representative became argumentative due to the fact that I wanted to cancel my first order and place another as if it was taken away from whatever this person was doing at the time instead of assisting me and showing great customer service for a first-time customer. Not only did this person raise her voice at me but then lied when I confronted the person on the phone and ask, "Did you just raise your voice at me," and yell at me the person who said no. I ended up hanging up phone call with this person and called back and asked for sales. After going back online and trying to place an order online it gave me a error code which told me that only one order can be placed on my account.
So, I contacted customer service. They transferred me to sales and I went ahead and I, placed my first order with them on the phone giving them my debit card and my information and giving them permission to place my order over the phone. After placing my order, I asked the sales representative to send me a confirmation to my email to show me that the order was placed by her over the phone. Your, sales representative informed me that a confirmation email will be sent out to me. Since writing this email to you, I still as of yet to receive any information indicating my purchase that was placed over the phone was ever made. I'm not sure if this is how your customer service works or how your customer service representatives are allowed to speak to your customers but you guys can do a lot better in the way you speak to your customers and how you treat them. Thank you."

My experience with Fingerhut has been fabulous and just as I expected. If you don't want to pay higher prices and interest, go buy the product outright rather than expecting to order it online for a small down payment and the ability to pay over time - especially from a company that specializes in credit building - at the same price you'd pay in a store. Fingerhut is basically an online rent-to-own center without the ability to return the products. As always, if you take the time to carefully read the terms, you'll have the right expectations going in.
If you pay your bills on time, and more than just the minimum, your credit improves. If you don't pay bills on time, or if you skate by with just minimum payments and a maxed-out account, your credit suffers. If you don't use the account for long periods of time, the company will reduce your credit limit as MANY credit card companies do. Spend 25% of your available credit, pay it off in 2 to 4 statements, and your credit will improve.
Many of the reviews here are indicative of poor credit management, which is why many (not all) should be disregarded. Fingerhut has always been wonderful to me, and they helped me get my credit back on track after a period of bad decisions. I will continue to use the service every few months just to keep the credit line open - and honestly some of their clearance prices on towels, sheets, etc. are pretty amazing!

I have been a member of Fingerhut for over a year. I started with their FreshStart account and moved to their revolving line account. I had no issues in the transition, although if you have to contact customer support; you will be met with broken English 3rd world country representatives (as most companies use these 3rd world countries). I've been respected and haven't had much issue in regards to speaking to them (maybe having to ask them to repeat themselves).
Now onto the products: I have purchased a few things from Fingerhut and have a CL of $1000.00. The products you get really depend on the seller. It's always a good idea to research the product and look for reviews (like on Youtube) before purchasing. The prices tend to fall on the heftier side and returning anything as with most places is a hassle. The website itself is easy to navigate, handling your account is a breeze with the mobile app or using online. They have a wide variety of well known products from retailers like Nike, Kruger, Black and Decker tools, and more. Overall: Great place to build your credit score 4/5. Prices are kind of ridiculous 2/5. Customer support can be a hit and miss 2/5. Website accessibility 5/5. App accessibility 5/5. Payments 5/5.

The issues come up when one forgets or cannot afford to make a payment. I FORGOT to pay last night, and this MORNING I receive an unprofessional and predatory call from a woman in Jamaica that could not even pronounce my name correctly and barely spoke English. Her tone was threatening and she stated without ANY input from me, "You are going to make this payment on Friday, right?" If you get an offer in the mail from these scoundrels, tear it up and throw it where it belongs THE TRASH. I received one from them 6 weeks ago and the worst mistake of my life was accepting it. Generous line of credit, but come to find out it was only because everything of theirs is overpriced compared to other retailers including their own sister website. When you call with a concern, you talk with someone from either the Philippines or Indonesia and must repeat yourself 20 times or if you email them, about 50% of the time they don't reply at all. And don't ask to speak to a supervisor, they avoid answering any and all calls apparently.
I bought a gas grill from them only to find out the manufacturer has it listed on their own website for $60.00 less and would have shipped it for $10.00 less too. When I did finally get to speak with someone about this, the answer was 'They advertise it as a loss leader'. And tried to sell me a set of china before I shut them up to pay attention to why I called. Charbroil told me the price of the grill has been that since December and sells well, and it is not a 'loss leader' So not only do they mark up the stuff insanely, they mark up shipping as well. And will not credit the difference or do anything for you. But the worst is, roughly 11 days before your payment is due, the robocalls start daily at all times to any phone number they have. And nowhere in any of their paperwork is this mentioned or disclosed.
If you block them or send them a cease and desist order like I did, they email you telling you that your credit line has been suspended but you can continue to shop using a credit card. Give me a break, I wouldn't buy anything from them if someone else paid for it. Just for the record, there are two class action suits pending against them in NY and Illinois because of robocalls and two other issues. If another is ever opened in my state you can for sure bet I will be joining it. A second or third rate retailer preying on the consumer, and when you are smart enough to call them out on it, you are the bad guy. I will pay them off and be done with them. It was suggested by one of those phone callers that I was lying about returning the computer. It was suggested by one that I pay for the item anyway, and they would reimburse me, later. Finally after 6 different harassing phone calls, my online account status was updated to state that the computer has been returned. I thought it would be over; that I would pay for the sheets and be done with them.
However... The very next day, I received another harassing phone call about my "unpaid bill" (the computer and the sheets); I asked that they not call me again until their accounts and their phone people were in agreement about what I (did not) owe. I had an issue with the tablet from day one. Zeki 9" Touch Screen 8GB Android Tablet with Built-In DVD/CD Player - TBDV986W Item Number: NJ76Y. I called technical support, and the information they provided was wrong. They were talking about me having to return the item, it was defective and I had to send it back. When I questioned why I should pay for it, the agent provided yet more incorrect information. I ended the call. After spending days and talking to friends I was able to get it started. Shortly after I started to get messages about various applications that were not closing. One after the other, and I could not continue my posts.
"I called Tech support again, the person told me to do, what I had done before again which was to reset the tablet. Did that. I did not have many applications, most were the ones that came with the tablet. So, in a few days it started to happen again. At this point I called and stated that I wanted to return the item, and did not think that I should pay for it ( knowing that the shipping costs would be deducted from my downpayment of 30.00. I was told no problem and would be shipped out a label. Well the label that was shipped to me was just a simple address label... no postage. I called Again, and explained, I was advised that I would be shipped out the correct label. It was received and I returned the item.
"Once the company was in receipt of the item I inquired about my refund. Now, Fingerhut has my account number and sure did charge my account ASAP after I placed the order, yet, I was advised that I would be receiving a check in 2 weeks, which at this point infuriated me. They have my account information. YET I had to wait for a check. I will admit, at this point I was very angry, and hung up after stating I did not care how I get the money, just send me my (yes I used the F bomb) money. Today, about 2 weeks later, I called and was informed that the refund has not been sent because I hung up on the previous agent. When I inquired what that had to do with my refund since it is a given he hesitated then said it had to be confirmed. So I said, "Ok. What exactly do you need from me." He put me on hold, then came back and stated that I was now confirmed. Not explaining what that meant or any confirmation number or anything.
"So, basically what I think at this point is the previous agent wanted to basically ensure that I did not get the refund and had to go through the inconvenience of dealing with yet more inept customer service. There was nothing that this customer service agent I spoke to today needed to do for me to get the refund... I need to state that at this point having dealt with numerous outsourcing customer service agents, the ones that are polite, but most inept are the ones from the Philippines. And personally am getting very very tired of the runarounds, no direct answers and errors. I left a message for a supervisor to call me, but, at this point I wanted to write to you directly. The refund is only 15.00, but to me that is money for other things such as medication. Plus no one should have to go through this."

My wife and I got a laptop from them for work purposes and it has been a nightmare from start and they don’t care AT ALL and have told us this on the phone. When the laptop was delivered all seemed well, then we tried to use MS Office Suite and we were unable to access these products and we kept getting a pop-up saying to enter product code # found on the back of your laptop which we were unable to locate, so we called Fingerhut and they gave us the code. No issue at all! Move forward 6mths and the laptop gave the blue screen of death and would no longer work. We called Fingerhut to let them know and they told us the motherboard was bad and to send it to Dell and they can refurbish it for us; I told them I got this new and it is under warranty and I don't want a refurbished laptop when I am paying their high rate ($500+) for a new one.
First they tell me we are not under warranty anymore. It has expired which was bull because we got the 1 year warranty and that time was not up at that point, so then they all of a sudden they see we are still under warranty, BUT... I didn't get the correct warranty, we got basic coverage, so it can't be returned because we didn't pick the full coverage option; when there is only 1 option for that product warranty in the book we ordered from, nor were we ever told there was more than 1 warranty option! So I told them I am sending it back to you as we don’t want the piece of (expletive) to which they said, "Well you still have to pay for it or we will send you to collections."
I after I calmed down I thought about and decided to send it to Dell and continue making my payments. Dell sent the laptop back in a matter of a week to 2 weeks and it worked great, except when they fixed it basically reverted back to all factory settings, so we again could not use MS Office, so we contact Fingerhut and they told me they don't have product key and to call Dell. We called Dell and long story short they push us back to FH. We called again and now they are acting like we never had a product code for this laptop and we have to buy MS products which is over $200 dollars even though we kept telling them they already gave it to us before so what is the problem!
This has now been going on back and forth with FH and Dell without resolution. Move forward to this afternoon, I spent 3 hours on the phone with FG bouncing from person to person and department to department; they finally told me we do have rights to the product key and it is in the box from Dell!! I told them I don't have the box anymore and maybe if you would have done your job right and told me this the first time I called then we would not be here today; I asked again, "Can’t you can't just give to me?" And was told point blank NO! So now I am stuck with a laptop I can't use and I still have to pay for it. Not sure what you guys do about this type of things, but I see a lot of bad reviews on FH on here, so maybe you don't do anything but gather info., but would love to know my rights on this type of thing? Am I just out of luck and let this on my credit report, or what? Thank you.

I have tried numerous times to explain to this company that there is a charge on my credit report that isn't mine and they refuse to look at it. I feel that the person whose charges that they have added to my credit report is not getting credit established. I have never had a Fingerhut account nor will I ever have one due to all the problems I have had with this company. They keep saying it's mine even though I don't live in the Chicago area, nor have a phone number for that area, I live in Baltimore, I have never even been to Chicago. But this company refuses to correct this problem or even to investigate what I am telling them is the truth. I would tell everyone that I talk to what has happened to me and not to deal with this company.

When difficulties arise, they make agreements to be paid overtime, after the payment date, they state that the agreement was not valid to be made. So the payment you make to catch up an account is not valid unless over 45 days past due. Thus, when trying to keep credit rating fairly well, they offer an agreement that can't be made. Be careful with their financing. They want your money, but do not respect their agreements with the consumer.

Hello, I am writing this review to warn others about Fingerhut. I was told that Fingerhut would be a good way to help my credit. I made a few purchases and paid everything off as fast as possible, I was even often rewarded with credit increases. The reason I am disappointed is because Fingerhut has no customer service. Even if you're a customer with the best record. They don't care if you get a defective product or if you're overall unhappy with a purchase. You bought it so you're stuck paying for it regardless if you're satisfied with your purchase or not. (Or even if the product is broken or defective.) I was willing to forgive the fact that all their products are highly overpriced and very cheap in quality, but the lack of service was the last straw.
I had over $1,000 in credit with Fingerhut, but I decided to cancel it all because I am not willing to get stuck in debt with a company that couldn't care less about their customers. The last item I purchased was a futon, the type of futon you'd find at a local Big Lots for about $200. Except this one was from Fingerhut, so it cost $600. Not only did it come defective and broken, when I tried to get any help from customer service, it's like there's no one home. Their emails feel like automatic responses, not something from a real person. They just want to make the most money they can charging outrageous prices and interests. They don't care about their product quality or their customer satisfaction, only about their customer's payment due dates and interest rates accrual.

I have had an account for over 5 years. Never missed a payment. Called in. I feel like the call was answered overseas by people who don’t speak English. I told them I was in a bad car accident then broke my foot and was unable to make the payment due the next day. I was basically told there was nothing they could do. I log in a few days later to make the payment, not only is collections calling, they have also sent a email saying I refuse to speak via phone so my account has been closed and I can only order in cash. Then they told me I used all my available credit... No I had over $1500 still available to use... I'm so annoyed. But Walmart sells the EXACT same items way below Fingerhut's cost.

I signed up for a Fingerhut account in January of this year (2018). Due to poor credit from Bankruptcy, I added a Fingerhut account to help build my credit. I understand Fingerhut has about a 30% increase on all of their items - this is to be expected, as their website is meant to help customers with poor credit achieve items that they probably normally couldn't afford without the option of making payments. I, however, am fortunate that I make decent money and I just wanted to use this site to boost my credit score... what a nightmare I have gotten myself into. My first purchase with Fingerhut went smoothly and quickly - I purchased a cheap elliptical and a set of dumbells for my exercise room and paid them all off immediately. They arrived on time and in good shape. No issues. The nightmare begins for my second and LAST purchase...
Shortly after I paid off my first purchase, I ordered an Apple Watch. My tracking told me it would be here February 16th. I followed my tracking closely and the day it was supposed to have been delivered, in fact, the tracking was so specific, it even said it was delivered into my mailbox, there was no Apple Watch. On their tracking website, there's a little bubble that says "Don't have your package yet? No worries! This happens, check your bushes and around your house etc etc and call us in 3 days if you still don't have your package."
Well, lo and behold, 3 days passes and still no Apple Watch. I call Customer Service and spoke w/ a very nice lady whom said that for some reason my order has actually BEEN CANCELED by Fingerhut! She said my account was FLAGGED because I had made a LARGE PAYMENT on my account (when I paid off my account in full for my last purchase!). How asinine is that? Basically they punish their customers for paying off their accounts in full. She apologized up and down and I had to go through a crazy array of security questions to "unflag" my account. She said the package was never actually delivered, but instead canceled and it should be on its way back to their warehouse. I made sure to tell this lady that once the watch is returned, I don't want it.
Weeks go by and still, watch hasn't been returned to Fingerhut and it surely never came to me. I call Fingerhut again on 03/09 and speak w/ a not-so-nice representative named Lindsay. She rudely told me the same tracking information that I already know - that on Feb 22nd it went to MN and that's all. She told me that maybe USPS changed the packages tracking number and I need to call USPS and "figure it out" myself. Awesome, Lindsay. Let me spend more time on the issues YOUR COMPANY is responsible for, but sure, I'll call.
I get off the phone with her and call USPS - 2 hour wait! Beyond annoyed, I waited the 2 hours and 3 minutes it took and spoke w/ a sweet as can be woman named Mary. I told Mary my situation and she checked my tracking and the first this she says it "Wow, this is a mess! Is Fingerhut really charging you still for this item?" and I said "Yes!" Mary explained that the package has been in transit since it was sent off in February and it never was delivered to me and she said the same thing we all know - It was delivered last on Feb 22 to Eden Prairie, MN and no one has seen it since.
She gave me another number to the post office where I am from to speak with a representative there to see if they can tell me if the tracking number had been changed. By the time I called the post office they were closed, so I left a voicemail. The next day they returned my call and left me a voicemail, stating they had no other information other than the package was sent to MN...
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now March 15th. Said watch is nowhere to be found. According to tracking, it made its way all the way back to Eden Prairie, MN, but can not be found since then. This is my major questioning - Fingerhut is BASED out of Eden Prairie, MN! That's its headquarters! That's the warehouse the watch came from! You're telling me that the watch is in your town, but hasn't been delivered to you? SCAM ARTISTS. I am still being charged for this watch, that I never received. You can bet that my account is going to be canceled and I will NEVER do business with them again!

I paid a 1000.00 early payment, they took out another 139.52 out of my account which was unauthorized, which made my payment paid in full, I called them about it, so they redeposited the money back in my account week later. Then I checked on the account. They said I need to pay 152.45 to pay it off, so the way I look at it they made me pay for their mistake that they did, have never been late. The answer I got is that is interest they are charging for, so I told them I wanted to pay them off and they said it would cost me 5.00 more, so I went online to pay the full amount which I did, now it shows that I owe 1.00 more. I will never never use them again, big rip off. I guess I learned my lesson.

All of my experiences with Fingerhut have been excellent. Yes, they are a little more expensive than some others, but they also let you pay the bare minimum time payments and even extend credit to those with a poor credit history, allowing the opportunity to repair and grow creditworthiness - even to those as low as 500 CS! That is indeed a big deal. PS, Fingerhut has been around since the 1940s; this is not some fly by night operation.
Most of the "reviews" of this company are suspiciously negative (and very hard to believe)... ala Yelp. Makes one wonder if they are politically motivated. Years ago when I was very young I had a FH account and messed it up badly by not paying on time (if at all). Try that with your mortgage and see how far you get. Anyway, years later I decided to give them another try and they gave me another try as well - pretty forgiving if you ask me. They have helped me to finally be able to obtain credit. The more on-time payments I make, the more credit they extend me.
They absolutely do report to the credit agencies and as a result I have repaired my credit, now appreciating about 20K in available credit from several different banks, with a nice looking CS to boot. I usually purchase bedding and every single item I have purchased has been lovely, held up well and if you actually know how to shop - has been quite affordable. Thank you Fingerhut! Thank you for a second chance. I'm sorry about my bad credit behavior in the past.

I told them how when I returned everything in the same box. I then told them. I don't know if someone stole it or they did not scan the items correctly, so they told me if I could supply them with the weight receipt they would give me a credit. Of course when I received that generic email about them processing my return. I threw the receipt away with the 100s others I have cause it was Xmas time.
They couldn't supply me with the return label number that they sent me, so USPS where I dropped the package off at, does not have a way to find without that. The customer service in handling this issue was not helpful. They are set up to not help the customer but defeat them. According to the reviews this happens all the time with this company. If it is so easy for fraudulent accounts to be opened you would think they would setup extra precautions when opening an account. All these seems like an awful lot of headache over what started as a $20 purchase in my specific situation and has now grown in interest. You need to file a police report for them to even consider looking into your case. You will need to dispute this transaction with all three credit bureaus.

I have automatic payments that work great and the items are mostly worth it because you don't have to pay for so long. I haven't experienced half the problems people on here have. I just became a member of Fingerhut in December of 2017. I ordered a computer on the Day12 of the Christmas sales. I had ordered a computer on Day11, which was a specific sale that the computer did not apply. On day 12, I received an email the day 12 sale was 15% off any item. I went into the website and put the computer into my cart, applied the day 12 coupon and hit enter. It gave me the discount of $130.79. I called customer service and explained the situation. She said that since I order it on day 11 she could not help. I told her to cancel the order. She told me it already shipped, so I told her I was going to send it back and reorder it today, day 12... She put me on hold, came back and told me that she spoke to a supervisor and that they would give me the credit and it would show up on my account with 24/48 hours. I thought great.
I received the bill in January 8th, and no credit was given. I called again, explained the situation. The rep told me that there was no record that I had called on December 12th... GREAT!!! She then put me on hold, came back and said that SHE spoke with a supervisor and my credit has been approved and it would show up in 24/48 hours!!! I think ok, with optimism... After checking 3 days later, NOTHING!!! I then decided that I wanted my correspondence and writing so I sent an e-mail going through the WHOLE situation AGAIN!!!! I then get an e-mail back saying the Day12 sale did not include computers!!! That was obviously a lie, since when I used the code on DAY 12 it gave me the discount!!!! If it didn't I would not have even asked for it. Now, before the bill is even due, they start calling me asking for a payment.
I was finally home to take a harassing call from the billing department and I explain to her the situation and that I am still waiting for my credit. She tells me that there are no records of my call or email!!!! Are you flipping kidding me!!! She transferred me to customer service. This woman, proceeds to tell me that she found my e-mail and I was informed that the day 12 excluded computers!! I told her that she was lying!!! And that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. You miss one payment they decrease your limit by $300. If your balance is paid off and you owe them absolutely nothing they raise your limit and give you a deadline to make such purchase so you can lock that limit. If you don't want to make a purchase and get yourself in debt because you have other obligations what do they do? They put remove your credit line and put it all the way to $0 in retaliation. This is probably the worst. I really meant it. The worst credit card company I have ever dealt with. The computer it's on the original box on my basement but they won't take it back... Stay away from this company they are bad and dishonest.

Tried to get Fingerhut to credit my account after a mistake they had made in calculations. Pointed it out three times with screenshot and they still would not return my money. Will not ever do business with these guys again. Watch your bill people.
