Support is responsive and will have someone out there in a couple of days. They offer an assortment of channel packages and the prices are very reasonable. Signal is great and stormy weather has little effect on picture quality. You will be happy with your choice and so will your family.

We have had Dish for 14 years, we hardly ever lose service, wish the price was a little lower, but my husband likes a lot of sport channels. We are very happy with the dish to go app, when my daughter was at college it made it easier for her to watch programs on her computer.

While DISH has been the practical satellite TV provider from a cost perspective, over the last few years they've lost major networks like HBO and CW and prices continue to go up. It's a bit challenging when you have to pay for satellite service and have a manual antenna that you hope will pick up your local channels due to lack of access via the service. And, they haven't adjusted their prices to reflect the loss of major networks to boot.

Dish company is pretty good. I'm disappointed in how much my bill is. We don't even have movie channels and sports packages. So, it's too high priced. Also, the dvr hopper whatever it's called doesn't allow you to go back very far. DirecTV allowed to go back a few hours. And when you are recording a show, if you are back a ways you end up not seeing the beginning of the next show. It starts time wise where the other show that's being recorded ended. It's things like that that are frustrating.

I have been with Dish network for many years. I was supposed to get free local channels. After a few years, I noticed I was being charged for local channels. I removed my local channels since I get excellent reception on my outside antenna. Dish network reduced my bill by ~ $10 for one month, then the following month, it went back up as they increased their basic rate. Other than that, programming and reception are very good.

Dish's customer service is excellent, their equipment is top notch, and modifying your programming is quick and simple. However, I give them a 4 because like most other providers of channels, Dish packages items rather than allowing one to choose only what they want to watch. This means that you are stuck with a myriad of channels that you don't want, but you have to pay extra beyond your "package rate" to get the channels that you do want. Given that issue, Dish still is a cut above every satellite TV provider that I've had in the past.

Way too expensive, way too many infomercial channels, very minimal options of packages to select from, can't customize just the channels you want to purchase. It's crazy. I pay for it but they tell me what I can purchase. Very poor service during storms and bad weather when you really need local channels. They also control a lot of the internet availability so they've got ya over a barrel again.

Dish should lower their prices due to streaming which competes at a lower price to keep customers instead of possibly losing more & to call them to get discounts & specials is like pulling teeth which they should just offer to long time customers automatically for staying faithful to them.

This company started in the late 1980s and slowly became popular because of fair pricing for their channel lineups. Customer service has never been very good in my experience. I had Dish in WA and UT. Customer service is dysfunctional and information from Customer service reps varies depending on who you talk to. They lie to customers. Not very customer friendly, although seems they are trying to train better now.
Prices have gone way up to match other satellite companies even though workers at DISH are not trained very well, so I consider them very overpriced. Another issue, they offer very limited packages. And most channels are either duplicate channels or infomercial channels. Not worth the price no matter which package you pick. The promos they offer are a confusing mess, but they did try to resolve my issues.

Dish promotes that its contract will not change the price for two years. What they don't say is that stations can be dropped at their whim. So the programming you agreed to at the start of the contract suddenly changes, thus you are getting less for the same monthly charge. A lesser programming for the same money is actually a price increase because you are getting less for the same amount of money that used to purchase more channels. (I'm sure it's in the fine print somewhere that they can do this...in paragraph 54 of the agreement that takes a Philly lawyer to understand, they know you won't read, but it's okay because it covers their hinny.)

DISH advertises that you can record 2,000 hours of programming, which means you can binge-watch favorite shows. This is not entirely true. The Hopper limits the number of episodes you can record of a particular show to 25. So even if your Hopper is only 25% full, you won't be able to record multiple seasons of the same show. I've contacted them about this several times about this, but it hasn't changed. DISH is great in many ways, but they need to fix this.

When I finally convinced them they no longer offered the programming my household uses and I was in fact leaving, they informed me I was under contract. I assured them I was not that I had been a 10 yr customer and they refused to waive the 300 dollar contract breach fee. I advised them that I signed up for a service they no longer offer and did not feel the same, even if I had a contract. Which I did not. Only gave one star because I had to. They should put negative ratings on the star chart. I moved, told Dish I would no longer need them because new house has cable. After a long winded response from the rep, who obviously didn't understand what I was saying, or more likely didn’t care because another customer was cancelling, and dish will do any sort of devious act to keep a customer, I agreed to be placed on “pause”. I had a credit, so $5 bucks a month seemed ok, since I was in the process of moving and didn’t have an hour or three to argue with someone who had the intellectual capacity of a toddler. Sorry toddlers, no offense intended.
After nine months, I was informed via email that my account would be reactivated. I was again going round and round with a rep who only listened to respond, not understand my situation. It was at this point I was informed that while on pause, it doesn’t go toward the time you have had the account, so I was still locked in and would have to pay an early termination fee. So after thirty minutes of nonsense, I agreed to “pause “ for another three months. It seemed they wouldn’t consider a cancellation, or even a break on the fee, and I’ve been a customer for eight years! So fast forward, and now I am in the process of buying a house. I kinda forgot about dish, as I haven’t received any emails. Midway to closing, a collection agent calls me, with a balance owed to dish. So I pay it, because I don’t want anything to affect my purchase of a new home.
Dish Network is the worst. They swindled me into an upgrade once, saying I had to upgrade, my equipment before they could go forward with an internet package. I agree to upgrade, installer does his job, call back for the internet, and, "Oh sorry, we don’t provide that in your area. But thanks for locking in on another two years." If we normal people were to practice business this way, we’d be in jail. I will buy a DVD player and watch Sanford and Son reruns for the rest of my life before ever dealing with dish again. I take comfort in the fact that streaming apps and businesses are pushing these lowlifes out. And of course all the bad reviews will amount to nothing, because dish pads the pockets of whoever they need to so they can keep swindling and conning we the people out of money.
So I leave with this, why don’t the head honchos of this piss poor company at least try to acknowledge the unethical practices they perform, and respond to these reviews? What are they afraid of? Man up dish, your customers are trying to tell you something, and you lack the balls to respond, and all the money in the world will not buy you integrity, honesty, or courage.

The emails say order blockbusters and new releases. No need to input certificate number, just order and it's that easy. NOT. It's false advertisement! When I was billed for the movies I called. I was told I needed to click on one of the dozen links in the email to learn that their new releases and blockbusters limit is $6.99. This company is shady, deceitful, and rude. Save yourself heartache. Don't purchase Dish.

My receiver died and I expected someone to be out the next day with a new receiver. I was told that I would have to wait 3-5 business days to get another one. I paid extra for a service plan and expected service. I then have to pay $20 for early termination and a $15 + tax to send my equipment back. I end up having to speak with 3 different departments that open and different hours. I’ve lost ABC and regional sports as well. Don’t go with Dish!

I sold my home, so I called Dish on 10/14/20 to terminate services and arrange for the return of the equipment. I was told there would be an early termination fee of $280 and was asked if services could be transferred to my new residence, I told the Dish rep that was not possible. The rep said it was not necessary to close the account if the new homeowners would just transfer my account to them and assume the equipment and perks that came with my account after being with them for so long. I asked how that worked and was told that a notation would be made on my account that the new owners only needed to call Dish to assume my account/equipment.
The new owners contacted Dish to set up the account at their new residence in their name, which resulted in a Dish tech being dispatched to their home on 10/21/20. When the new owners told the tech that they just wanted to transfer my account to them and keep the existing equipment at their location, the tech called the Dish office and was told that was not possible. A new account was opened in the new owners' name and new equipment was installed. The old equipment was left at their home.
When I called Dish customer service on 10/21/20 just after the Dish Tech had left the new owners' home to try and remedy the situation, I was asked to conference the new owner on the call, which I did. The new owner told the Dish rep what happened and that they just wanted to transfer my account to them, but they were told that was not possible and they were required to open a new account and install new equipment. The Dish rep told her that she no longer needed to be on the call, so she hung up.
The Dish rep then told me there was nothing Dish could do since a new account was created and the I would be responsible for a $280 termination fee and for returning the old equipment. I asked to speak to a manager, but he told me that he could see the notation on my account, but they have no idea what the new owners told Dish, so there was nothing he could do. This is very wrong at many levels. I did everything the Dish rep told me to do on 10/14/20. But there was no accountability from Dish Network for what happened. None!! I will never do business with Dish...ever!!!!

I was told they were in contract negotiations and In the meantime I could download the ABC app to watch it live. Well not a perfect solution, but I was willing to try, although still not happy.

I called yesterday to have service disconnected at my stepfather. He been my stepfather for 40 years and the only parent I have had for the last nearly 20 years. I am the executor over his estate. The lady handling the disconnection was completely out of line. She was trying to sell me more products AFTER I told her he had died and that was the reason for the disconnect. I asked her to "please stop, he died". She then got quiet and said she was waiting on the disconnect to go through but encouraged me to take advantage of whatever my stepfather qualified for. I again said "please stop, he died".
After another "please stop, he died", she asked me if the house was vacant. I asked her what that had to do with the disconnect. She said maybe somebody else in the house wanted to keep the service. I was uncomfortable with it but told her no one was in the house. She asked if it was vacant. I said YES. Which it really is, but that is not something you just go around telling people these days. I told her I just wanted it disconnected. She asked if anyone else wanted to have Dish transferred to them at another location. Again, "Please Stop!" I told her I am grown and live out of state with my own life and that he had one son (why I told her that, I don't even know) and that he lived out of state and had his own life.
She pushed the issue of what we could have if one of us just had it transferred. I told her I lived in Alabama and his son lived in North Carolina and we had our own lives, again, "PLEASE STOP, HE DIED". I asked her why she kept doing that and she said it was her job to let me know about all they had to offer. I said "he died". At some point she wouldn't even stop talking while I was talking or saying "please stop". I must have said "please stop, he died" and "please stop" nearly a dozen times. When she finally got the disconnect and was telling me where to go for the final bill and I was writing down the information, she quickly went into telling me a channel that would be left on so we could watch, something, I don't even remember. I literally slammed the phone down at that point because I couldn't take it anymore and I have no idea where I go to check on the final bill.
I understand businesses wanting to keep their business, upsell their products and gain to customers but this is over the top stupid!!!! A man died and his house that will be going up for auction soon, which I also told her by the way, is very, very sad and devastating news for our family or anyone's family. This was not the time to try to make a sale! Today, I contacted another representative on their live chat. He would not give me a person, phone number or email to file a complaint. He told me to go to their website and asked if I needed anything else. As I was typing in my response, he disconnected me.

Dated: October, 2020. DISH Network has exhibited aggressive and unethical behavior against Senior Citizens who are attempting to discontinue their service. On August 20, 2020 I contacted Dish network and told them that I no longer wanted their service. We formally cancelled their service on September 18, the day after our 2-year contract expired with them. When I called them repeatedly, they stated that we would need to return their equipment to them via UPS and they would be providing the mailing box within 7 to 10 days following the disconnect. (We were required to use the UPS service under contract to Dish Network.) I was told I had a month at that time to return the equipment following our formal disconnect on September 18th.
On September 28th, we still had not received the shipping box however we did receive a threatening phone call from them that if we did not return the equipment within 2 business days, they would charge us for the equipment. My husband handled this phone call and then I got involved. I told them we had not received the shipping box they promised to us and we were still within the month’s timeframe of our DISH disconnect to return their equipment to them. The woman on the phone from Dish stated when she tracked the shipping box through UPS that the box should be arriving to us on 9/29/2020. However, she would not give my husband the tracking number. After arguing with her for a considerable amount of time, I finally did receive the tracking number.
What Dish failed to inform us was that they were not even shipping the “Return Box for their Equipment” to our house. They were shipping the box to a local CVS that is a considerable distance from us. Nor, did I request her to ship the box to CVS. I told her that our local post office handled UPS and that they just needed to ship the box to my PO BOX number. They already had that address on file as our billing address. Had I not argued for the tracking number, I would have had no way of knowing that the box was not going to be shipped either to my home address or my PO Box.
After receiving the return box my husband and I packed it according to the instructions provided by DISH. I then went to the UPS Full Service Location in CT with the package on 9/30/2020 @ 11:38 am. I received a receipt from the UPS location. A few days later on October 5th I tracked the location of the UPS package containing the DISH equipment and it stated on the UPS site it had not yet left their location. When I called UPS they told me that they did not know where my package was. They were issuing an investigation.
I then called DISH to let them know that I sent their equipment back to them per their instruction and forwarded to them the tracking information and follow up emails provided by UPS. Although some of the customer service reps from DISH were helpful and told me this lost equipment was not my fault, the final manager I spoke with said that I was liable for the equipment. It was at this time that DISH informed me that if they did not receive the equipment back in a month’s time for the disconnection of their service, they would be charging me replacement costs for their equipment.
They also said they would be taking it directly out of a credit card I had had on file with them, WITHOUT my authorization. I can no longer get into the MyDISH application on my computer to remove my credit card information as they locked me out of that feature. I want them to stop their aggressive tactics. Also, I believe it is illegal for them to charge me for equipment which I returned in good faith by a carrier that was selected by them and under contract to them. I believe this was a deliberate scam to try to extract more money from their customers who no longer wanted DISH service. I also believe that this was a deliberate attempted to defraud their customers. When I checked complaints on the internet regarding DISH there were other instances of customers having their returned equipment to DISH lost by UPS without redress.
Also, on 10/6/2020 I spoke with the original UPS location where I dropped off the package. The store informed me that the package left his location on the same day I dropped it off and was taken to the Hartford UPS Warehouse. He told me that should the package be permanently lost, UPS would reimburse DISH in full for the lost items. In fact, what DISH is doing is extorting money from their customers in addition to collecting from UPS. He told me that there was a tracer investigation on the package and if not found within 8 business days, they would provide the claim information to the company.
They explained to me that since DISH issued the label and forced me to pay for it I had no choice but to send the equipment back to them under that label. Also, the UPS Customer Service number (800-742-5877) informed me that the DISH equipment was being returned to them under their own corporate account with UPS. And he also stated “UPS will take responsibility for this shipment and reimburse DISH” if necessary. So while DISH was threatening me to pay for the “lost” equipment, they were also collecting from UPS once the claim was filed. Is this scam illegal????

The customer service rep was nice & attempted to return service remotely which failed. She said we need a technician to come out to reset the satellite; however, they are unable to get someone here until OCTOBER 17, 2020. I realize there has been a hurricane, but all other services pull in extra help to restore power, phone, cable, etc.
We had Directv for over 20 years and they always had someone come out within a few days - even after Hurricane Ivan & Katrina we never had to go without service for more than a few days. So, I requested a credit on our bill since we have not had service since 9/15 and will not have it again until 10/17 - she had to "check" to see if she could give us a credit, which she did, but our monthly charges are $140 something - the amount we are getting for a credit...$86.83! WOW! REALLY?! VERY DISAPPOINTED! We were already unhappy since our bill jumped over $40/month at the end of our 2 year contract. I would have cancelled then, but we really do enjoy using their DVR-it is the only reason they are getting 2 stars! By the time they get around to our "timely" service call I hope to be firmly established with an over the air antenna & DVR.

We finally got our Visa gift card and I believe the problem is the disbursement of these gift cards is from a third party, so Dish did not have complete control over the disbursement of these cards. Signed up with Dish and was told we would get a $400 Visa gift card in 4 to 6 weeks which was one of the main reasons we switched to Dish in the first place. Waited and didn't receive a gift card in the timeframe. I had to research and call the promotion phone number 4 times before I finally got a response in an email stating it was approved. I was assuming I would get the card in a few days and I called to find out how long it would take to come in the mail and I was told 6 to 8 weeks.
Called Dish. Spoke to a manager who could care less that I was lied to and had to do all the footwork myself to try and get my card (still waiting for it.) I seriously couldn't believe that they would do nothing to help or even call promotions and say send this card out to this new customer now. They don't care! Obviously my discontentment meant absolutely nothing to him. Now I have a two year contract and I don't think I will continue with Dish. I believe honesty and customer service are important and so far I have gotten neither from this company.

I was given one day's notice and then it was gone. I totally lost HBO a couple of years ago and never did get that back.
In addition, I once paid my bill on time, as I always do, and the next bill I received had a late fee. I contacted my bank and the bank reported that, in fact, DISH NETWORK, had withdrawn their payment before the due date. I had to call several times to get these charges removed before I had to actually copy my bank statement to prove to DISH NETWORK they had been paid timely. Furthermore, a cloud in the sky, and I lose my programming for who knows how long! Finally, I have a remote that isn't working properly and am afraid to contact DISH NETWORK for fear of them requiring further contracts from me. Senior retired citizens only want/need basic channel compliment and live in rural areas where over the air broadcasts are not available. With fixed incomes, a $25-30 monthly price point would be affordable/reasonable for a limited number of channels. So many just don't subscribe and forced to pay for a package of channels that will never be watched.

He left in our reception was terrible. We had broken up pixels and had to restart the receiver several times.
They tried everything to fix it and couldn't get it to work right so they sent out a new technician. He added some parts that made it work a little better but the Joeys would restart during the middle of a movie. The pixels were constantly breaking up. So we canceled the service which we had a 2-year contract which was prorated and they ended up charging me 300 dollars because I didn't fulfill the contract for bad service. So go a month with no service, get charged full price, cancel service, and Dish expects me to pay the cancellation fee for service I'm not getting? Yep, that's how Dish runs their business! It's a sweet deal for them, convince me to sign a 24 month contract then don't honor it but refuse to let me out. I get why they like to do it because it's very profitable!
That's award winning customer service! Buyer beware, just because you sign the contract doesn't mean that Dish plans to meet their obligations! I needed to cancel my account and after around an hour of searching around the website, I concluded that you have to call to cancel. It doesn't tell you that by the way, you just have to figure it out, as nowhere on the site does it contemplate that someone might need to cancel. So, I called, and after being on hold for 10-15 minutes, I got a guy on the line who took probably another 10 minutes to pull up my account, then when I told him I needed to cancel, he basically refused to do it. He kept saying that he was trying to help me, but all he did was continue to try to talk me out of cancelling.
I finally had to completely go off on him, but even then, all he did was go off on another line of telling me he was trying to understand why I was frustrated, etc. and when I told him I was through talking, and to please just cancel my account, he refused to do so until he "understood" why I wanted to do so. It honestly felt like being held hostage, and after continuing to endure the interrogation, I finally got the account canceled after probably 45 minutes or so on the phone. This company seriously needs to be reported to the FTC and the FCC on their practices, as this experience was not an accident - they're intentionally trying to wear people down and have them hang up before completing the cancellation. Truly the most bizarre "customer service" interaction of my life.

My husband and I had Dish as our cable provider. We decided to cancel once they changed the rate of service without notice. They continued to bill us after the fact that we express not wanting to continue with the service. We amounted a $127 bill which they sent to collections. We went ahead and paid this off in full. After 7 months, I noticed that they are still reporting on our credit as a collections. Which is affecting our credit. Mind you we have no other collections or major debt. So I called them to ask if they would be kind enough to remove this from our credit report. Juan, was the rep that attended to my call. I explain to him everything and proceed to ask him what can he do to help us remove this from our credit.
Needless to say he was exceptionally rude to me, as to go on and say: "Well you did not pay us, so we don't care if we continue to negatively report on your credit." Oh boy, when he said this to me, it got my blood boiling, and all my sweet and polite ways went out the door, I scream at him that this is the main reason we do not have their services any longer, his careless attitude towards customers and that he could go suck a you know what! Then I hung up!
I personally Do NOT recommend them. Their service is limited, their customer service reps are very disrespectful and rude. Now we have to have a negative reporting, not because they can't take it off, just because they don't want to. What does a company gain from negative reporting on someone's credit for a debt that has already been paid in full. $127? I understand banks, credit cards and such. But a cable company. Please folks do your due diligence when dealing with companies. Learn what their terms are... read the small print.

I'm a Dish customer since 11 years. I had problems six's years ago because strange and fraudulent billing practices. I canceled. They came back after a while with a promise. Now I experience the same practice as before again. They deleted two channels I always watch and say I never had this channels and their billing practices are exactly back to this arbitrary billing things. It makes me angry to deal with this again. There must be people in this company that get paid to squeeze money out of their customers, no matter what. I do not understand the unsustainable philosophy for this. I called their customer service and experienced the same behavior like six years ago.
I can only warn people to get in business with this low rated company with the worst and most arrogant customer service I ever have talked to. They really try to tell you, that you never had this channels and they want put them back on without extra fees. They still live in the world of uninformed customers that have no clue what happened and don't know the new options of cable tv. Sling tv is the same company like dish and will not be considered as an option for my future cable service. It's unbelievable that such a company is still in business.

Mom went to an assisted living facility & because she had Dish prior to going there, she insisted on having it. I set up the account for her under our name. Because of an unforeseen incident, mom (92 yrs old) had to be admitted to a nursing facility. I would of transferred the acct over but facility didn’t allow it so I had to cancel w/ dish. Because I was the one that ordered it I am responsible for the $300.00 cancellation fee! And the customer service rep kept repeating over & over “you signed the contract”. I remembered mom had issues with dish at times & she was a customer for over 10 yrs. I now know to go with Spectrum, they don’t charge a cancellation fee. You’d think DISH would be a little more considerate on unforeseen circumstances.

They keep raising rates even though I was under a contract with my phone company(TDS). Called to cancel in May, 2020, because Dish Network said they bill a month in advance, I was informed that, the last paid date was through the date of 6/28/20. However they shut my service off at 6:30 am on 06/28/20. My understanding is that I was paid thru the 28 of June, which would have ended at 11:59.59. Have not received boxes for the equipment. They tell me they do not want the actual satellite dishes but expect me to pay for removal.
They claim they have the top 150-200 channels. Look at them because they are stations that are free, stations of a different language, Music and pay per view! Then they allow a company that owns multiple stations to override regular programming to force you to listen and watch their program. I paid for satellite and am annoyed when you decide what I need to watch and not what I paid for! Going old school and watching regular TV!

A Hughes Rep indicated that I could not subscribe to a faster program. I got what I thought was just the right package for me. Certain channels I had to have. After set up & the technician was gone, I looked through the channels & no channels that I requested & was guaranteed by the DISH rep to get we’re in my package. I called DISH & was told that the package I selected didn’t include those channels. Completely different story from the DISH rep & the DISH customer service. If I wanted those channels I requested it would be $10.00 extra per month. I have to say in all fairness that the DISH bill is $35-40 less per month than my DirecTV was.
My second & equally annoying complaint is that the DISH equipment is loud. It sounds like a low pitched mechanical grinding. I tried separating the equipment to give the DISH equipment more air space, but this was unsuccessful. I’m in the process of building a box with sound deafening insulation to get rid of the noise. If the TV or stereo are not on, this sound can be heard 15 feet from the DISH box. This invades my personal hearing space when I don’t have the TV on. My third & equally annoying complaint is with the sound. Sometimes the sound doesn’t come on using the DISH remote. Just NO sound at all. I have to run the sound through the stereo system.
My fourth & equally annoying complaint is that sometimes the picture goes black. No picture for a second or two. This can come at the wrong time so that you might miss words that are important to the story. I’m not sure if all these BIG annoying things with DISH are worth the monthly savings. I’m going to change packages to reduce the monthly cost & then add the channels for $10.00 extra per month. I will at least have the channels I thought I was going to get when I ordered DISH. My biggest motivating factor for switching from DirecTV to DISH was the ever increasing cost per month with DirecTV. So far I’m not sure DISH is better, all things considered.
One last item about the technician. I received numerous emails leading up to the appointment day & time. Each one stated the time the tech would be here. He was here 1 hour prior to the time stated in all those emails. I was moving equipment around in order to give the tech access to the TV & accompanied wires. Good thing I was almost done. He worked outside with the Joey while I finished what I was doing inside. I was excited about this change from DirecTV to DISH because it seemed better. The whole DISH experience started off on a bad note with the tech showing up 1 hour prior to the scheduled time. Except the monthly cost, DISH is NOT better than DirecTV considering all my complaints.

Strange and complete stupidity. Been complaining about this for years now and NO RESOLUTION.. that payment due notice that pops up 2 days prior to due date in center of tv, DOES NOT go away until approximately 10 days. I called three months later to cancel and after insisting I did not want to continue to be on hold at $5 a month, they agreed to cancel but not until they charged me $15 for a box to return the equipment. I did not send it back right away because I figured as long as they got a fee out of me, they really weren’t looking for the outdated equipment to be returned anyway. I received a bill for the equipment for $340, which I didn’t pay. I then received a letter from an outsourced company saying the amount was not being turned over to collections. I DON’T RECOMMEND DISH.. I’ve been with Dish for about 8 years now. Only a month ago, I started getting bills for ‘Hughes Net’. I had absolutely nothing to do with this company, so I thought I had a fraud problem on my hands. Earlier this week, I contacted Hughes Net to try and solve this issue. They informed me that I had signed a contract with them, which obviously surprised me, given that I had never heard about this company before, only on TV. They told me that I signed a contract with them, and they even described my house and everything...
Turns out that on a ‘contract’ that I signed with Dish, I was paying Hughes Net along with the terrible internet service I had with Dish. And when I signed it, there was no contract to read, there was only a signature box. There was no warning of any extra fees, or that they were even going to charge me Hughes Net separately. So basically, they were taking money out of my account without my permission, and without any warning whatsoever. So, I DON’T RECOMMEND DISH, unless you wanna pay an extra $50 dollars a month for gas internet service..

All fees and service are final and in binding contract straight up pricing. No second year price hikes so monthly bill should get that should always stay the same. That's bull. First two months I had it they took payment out of my account two weeks before it was due which caused me to be overdrawn each time and cost me more money. Last month they didn't even take a payment out. This month instead of taking the payment out they took the payment plus $50 out of my account which $50 would have had another bill of mine.

But since I didn't call them and tell them a second time that I no longer wanted to use that receiver that they had in their possession, they decided that I still had to pay for it monthly... The only way that they can stop billing me is if I send them a second receiver and then remind them with a call once I get a confirmation that my package was delivered. What a joke. I am a sole proprietor, small business, schedule C filer. I mention all this as each detail represents a strike against you in getting your individual stimulus check (don’t have), PPP loan (applied first day – banker couldn’t/wouldn’t process due to need for sch C guidance – finally changed to online bank but fund ran out next day as dems block it), unemployment (have to finish my 2019 tax return as otherwise they consider I am showing zero income). All the news commentators have a job as do all the legislators. They have probably received ‘their’ incentive checks that they don’t need as they have had no change in employment.
Dish is the only company, entity, etc. (other than insurance) that has not deferred payments for 60-90 days due to covid19. Dish has no program besides a 7 day extension that is the normal pre-covid consideration. I’ve made it clear that I cannot and will not make my current payment until I have some other revenue come in. All of my clients have either closed their businesses so they cannot pay me.
For the past four days, I’ve gotten a collection call each morning. They sound like English is their second language and, except for today I had to have them repeat most of what they said. They all asked the same stupid questions. They all acted surprised and disappointed that I didn’t immediately say that I would make payment that day. They all acted like they had no idea of any previous conversation. Except for yesterday, April 18. The young lady forwarded my call to the loyalty department (whom I had wasted my time talking with several times a couple of weeks earlier).
That person said she didn’t see where there was a problem as there was a payment pending. I told her that wasn’t possible. I asked my wife who then told me we had a dish email thanking us for our payment. I double-checked our account and it was clear as day that autopay was turned OFF. I never authorized this. We had to move all the funds from that account (which is the one we use to autopay our insurance) to keep your damn company from stealing what little we had left. The ‘loyalty’ person I was speaking to said it was the person I had just been speaking with who had checked the box allowing it. She said it must have been a mistake.
Our account shows we owe you $312. I demand a credit for the entire balance to bring it to zero to stop our harassment. I earn $75/hour and am working for clients that I expect will pay me in the future. I have spent far more than this amount of time dealing with your offshore collection trolls (there’s no way they are American citizens - at least the ones I’ve been called by). Also, we paid full rate for years while not having our local channels or most network tv due to your never ending disputes with entertainment providers. We’ve never gotten a dime in credits for the reduction in service for much of what we signed up with you to watch.
Most importantly, while we show a balance, I don’t trust your company not to try to take it from us again the way you tried to yesterday. I’m a small business guy who is going to keep all his client sites up during this whether they can pay or not right now. I can’t believe it’s beyond the capacity of a big company like yours to do the same. Why haven’t you signed the FCC Pledge: **. Do the right thing, damn-it!

We have had problems with the picture and audio freezing up, on recordings and live video. We first had the problem a year ago. Called customer service about it, they have always been nice to talk to, but they always go through the same checks each time. This is time consuming and at the end of it each time they send out a technician. The 1st tech told us we needed better surge protectors/power filters. Knew that was not the problem, but no argument about it. So we paid for new ones from him, did not have any effect on the problem. Second time, different tech, agreed to install a new receiver/DVR. It was better for a few days, probably because all of our recorded programs were gone! As we recorded more programs the problem began to reoccur again.
The problem is in the equipment not having enough processing memory. Ever had to wait on a video on the internet? I don't think we will call them back again with the problem, our contract is up in 6 months and we will switch to a streaming service on a landline. I do not recommend the service, it does not work as well as advertised!!

I signed up for Dish 2 years ago and was suckered into a “discounted” rate if I committed to 2 years. Saved me $20/month. I was told the service would be about $120 per month. Over the 2 years the bill has grown to $157/month and they have dropped a few channels. Over the 2 years I’ve had constant problems with the billing even though my account was on autopay. I can’t figure out why I would get a late notice and fee on an autopay account. Every time it happened it was because they failed to update my account with a new credit card number that I had called them with well in advance of the due date. Once it took 5 different phone representatives to get the mistake corrected and the late charge removed. I finally got fed up with the horrible services and had the dish disconnected this month.
I called them and told them to disconnect service at the end of my current subscription month. The “customer service” representative said they would send a box to return the equipment in. He then transferred me to another representative that tried to entice me to stay with them. I made it clear that they would have to pay me to keep the service. It is now nearly 3 weeks later and still no return box. The service was disconnected promptly at midnight on the last service day but they did not ship the box until the day the service disconnected, even though I asked the representative when I cancelled to send it immediately as I had no intention of using their product.
Called ‘customer service’ again today hopefully for the last time to ask where my box was and they said they would send it right out. They try to tell you what a bargain the service is and that you get over 200 channels of ‘entertainment’ (out of which I watched maybe 10). Maybe if they offered a ‘menu’ plan that let you pick 10 channels at $2 or $3 per channel and fix their horrible customer service organization they would retain more customers.

I was being contacted multiple times a day by their collections company and I made arrangements to make two payments to take care of the early disconnection fee (what I was I told) since I was responsible for that. Between the collections company and Dish themselves I have never been given the same information, it's always conflicting statements, dollar amounts, etc. After I took care of all financial responsibilities and equipment return they send me another email that they are gonna take more money out of my account because they found an additional balance that should've been paid but didn't mention it until after everything... The account balance is different than what I was told months ago.
I don't understand how not one manager can take initiative to research the account and be confident with the information they've given, everyone there is just like, "I don't know what someone else told you but this is what I show." They pulled up the contract I had signed agreeing to a 2-year plan, but the technician who came to my home to install the dish pulled a fast one. I was told the only way to clear my name was to fill out a form and sign it and give my full social security number, a copy of my drivers license, and a piece of mail from February 2009 (11 years prior) showing I lived at another address. May I ask who keeps mail that long? So I am an innocent victim and am asked for impossible information to clear myself. However, when you sign up for an account, you apparently don't have to show anything. Very upset.

Their terrible customer service is only surpassed by the substandard reception their dish service provides. They also claim to offer an app that customers can use to access services, but it too has never worked correctly. PLEASE save yourself money and grief and go elsewhere for your viewing needs. I am giving them 1 star, not because they earned it, but because like a bad waitress to leave nothing gives them the ability to think nothing was left in error. They do not even deserve one star, but this way others know what they are in for should they waste their money with this company.

My family have been Dish customers and paying them our hard earned money for over 15 years. We recently updated from 2 DVRs and one box to their Hopper and 2 Joey's a couple years ago. In the options for recording you can choose new and old episodes, or only new episodes. I've noticed in the past two+ years that dish has been claiming old previously aired episodes as new rendering the record only new episodes option completely useless. I was just on chat with dish about this and they kept asking for my account info in which I don't have as I'm not the sole contract holder. They said they can't do anything about this issues without account info.
When I explained the issues they said it's the channel providers claiming old episodes as new though I've noticed this with a few of dishes channel providers. When I asked, "Aren't we paying dish to make sure their channel providers aren't falsifying info to dish's customers?" they rudely closed the chat box. Claiming previously aired episodes of past seasons of TV shows and charging customers to watch or record said episodes is indeed false advertising and In my opinion dish needs to be set straight and learn they can't do their customers that way or even allow their channel providers to do so either as we pay dish hard earned money as a representative for their services. We signed a contract with Dish and Dish is responsible for holding true to said contract. This is clearly means for a class action suit.

Then customers service has you go thru all these steps, when they haven't worked before or some agents don't hear you or understand what you're saying. Ive been told I'm having problems because of the weather. I go, "what weather, it's not windy here". I've been told the same with having issues being with 1 channel recently. And only on the Joey. Doesn't make any sense. They just make themselves look like fools.
I have spent hours with these people over time. I'm not a fan when calling and how to reach someone. I'm not a fan of it always taking over 30min for 1 issue and most likely..it either won't be fixed, the agent doesn't know or it'll happen at some point again. I'm just done with the whole experience. A new control was sent and I was excited as it had a speaker to talk and the control lit up once moved. However..it can't be used with tv. Our autistic son keeps rerenting programs from the dvr rental folder on a joey connected to a Hopper 3, which I found out today does not require a code to purchase. Our parental controls are on with restricted purchases (code only). It took me several months to figure this out. A code is required for a normal rental but not for a program that has already been rented once and is stored automatically in a folder you can't delete; tech support said it was a known glitch in the system but would not refund any of the fees.
Dish will not use any understanding in situations like this which they produced. This backdoor to purchases without a code has cost us over $100.00. It’s Super Bowl Sunday and 15 minutes before the game I get complete signal loss. I have more than 50 people at my house and a ridiculous amount of food for a Super Bowl Sunday party. Multiple channels wouldn’t work and minutes before the game all my guests leave my house to watch the game someplace else because Dish Network had complete signal loss.
I quickly call dish network to see if the problem can be fixed or remedied, but I’m on hold for 20 minutes. By then all my guests have left. Not only was it embarrassing but also I’m left with all the food and still not watching the game. Finally get in touch with a dish network rep and tell them that I am canceling because they failed me. They tell me they are charging me an additional $80 for early cancellation. I told them I would not have canceled if they provided the game which is the service I pay for. They tell me there’s nothing they can do which I know is not true.
An early cancellation fee CAN be waived but they would rather choose to nickel and dime their customer as they leave because of poor service and poor customer service. I told them I would quietly go my way after canceling because of how they failed me as a client and customer. But instead they would rather take another $80 from the customer rather than taking it out of their pocket or forwarding the bill to the local service that failed them.
I understand mistakes happen and technology can fail at times, but don’t take it out on your customers. A good or responsible company will not push their mistakes on their customers. “Nothing can be done” they kept saying, when we all know that something can be done. Let the regional manager or VP approve the credit. Just accept your mistake, credit the customer and learn from your mistake. I’m definitely going to Internet TV and recommend everyone else does the same. Steer clear of Dish Network. Satellite TV is definitely dated.

Hopper duo quit working, called Dish, they made appointment for next day. Didn't show up, made appointment for today & still hasn't shown up. They have blocked me on their app & Website. What they do is illegal. They have you over a barrel so they coerce you to keep you. AT&T was sued for 60,000,000.00 for this & slowing data down. They purchased T-mobile so heads up there. Never give ANY co. Permission to draw money from your bank account. If they withdraw from you, without your permission it's illegal, but will take you forever to get refund.

While Moving they applied charges even though I never had an installation service. Then they said my account was terminated in the process. Now I got to pay for the charges for a month that I didn’t even have service and early termination of $100.00 along with that. They harassed me with calls telling me They will be putting me in collections. All this when I did not even wish to cancel. But with all this now I do want to cancel. They are unprofessional. They don’t even appreciate their loyal customers. DO NOT GET A CONTRACT. THEY Will FIND A WAY TO SCREW YOU OVER. I’m very disappointed cause I wanted to set up in my new home and have everything working, But they don’t care about customers So I decided to write this review hoping other people don’t fall for their scams.

I was given a quote on a new receiver and the next day when the tech came he installed it and then he was talking to someone at their call center and the price was different than what I was quoted and he told the people he was talking to he had the same price quoted to me however every couple years the price goes up and just so happens it was on the day my receiver was installed. They wouldn't hold their end of the bargain as far as price quoted so I told the tech take the equipment. He said he couldn't and drove off then the Dish department told me if I cancel it will cost me 480.00 for service I may have had for a few minutes. So they lied about how much it would be and sent a tech to install the equipment then told me because he installed it their end of the contract was ok. How do these people sleep at night? I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE OR GO THROUGH THEM AGAIN. THEY DO BAD BUSINESS!!!

I originally signed up with Dish Net satellite with a bundle with HughesNet for internet. They came out and install the dish. But had to come back with a different Pole. I was to receive the internet installation the following Tuesday. I called because nobody came to install the internet. Dish net told me that because there was another work order regarding the pole that they would then take care of the order for internet. As time passed I still did not receive internet. I called them. Dish said they could not do anything about it because it had to be originally set up. And I was to call HughesNet. I called HughesNet and they knew nothing about me. So I might have reconsidered taking dish if I had known that I was not going to be bundled with internet service. So now my only option is to not get the special rate for bundling but to pay $20 additional each month for the internet service directly to HughesNet.

Our Dish service went out for no apparent reason and no warning. We called Customer Service. They said we would have to pay $100 to have a technician come out and look at it or pay a $15.00 fee to ship a new receiver that we would have to install ourselves, since THEIR receiver (that was 2 months old) decided to go out. We were shocked to hear that we had to pay for a problem on their end. If you read the blog on dish's website, you will see that this is a common occurrence and one I wish we had known about before we started using their service.

I signed up to Dish Network based on advertised channels and specific boxes I would be getting. After installation I realized the boxes I requested were not installed and channels being advertised are under negotiation. I asked out of the contract 1 hour in based off the false advertising. Dish representatives said they’d only let me out without a hefty fee if I could prove I specifically asked for that channel during the sales call. It’s advertised on their website as a channel they broadcast through services so why would I need to ask this. Apparently it’s okay to advertise channels (The CW) you have not broadcasted for over 4 months.

I have a triplex rental. I noticed that they had drilled holes in my brick to install their cable. There is now a crack from the hole all the way up to the window sill. Even the brick is cracked. Then I looked on the other side of the building and two more cables were installed by drilling. I WAS NEVER CALLED FOR PERMISSION TO DRILL THROUGH MY BRICK. I am a Realtor and very aware of what structural damage does to your value of property. If the other two drill holes on the other side decide to crack all the way up (they are 10 ft apart), I could very well have a whole section of brick wall fall out.
I have tried calling twice, and requested the Installation dept. They just pass me around and won't talk to me unless I have an acct. with them. I explain that I OWN the property. That doesn't matter. I am seriously taking them to court. I have caulked the crack myself because I was worried they will just do more ugly damage but it still doesn't look good.

Also they run my card three times and now it lock down for 24 hours. Thanks Dish. So if want a company that can't help their customers. Then this is the place.

I am extremely angry that I am still paying $13 a month for local channels when I am missing 50% of the locals in my area. We no longer have NBC and CW because Dish can't come to an agreement with our provider. This has been going on for 4 months. Most of the shows we watch are on NBC and CW. When I call, they offer a one-time $5 credit. What a joke. I figure I have paid Dish approximately $43,200 in the last 24 years and you offer a one-time $5 credit. Thanks, but no thanks. Make it right or lose a loyal customer.

I have had a horrible time with Dish Network for the last 3 months after I upgraded to the Super Joey. I know how to deal with them now. Ask for a Dish Network Tech not an independent one. The results were much better. He found 2 spots in the house where it wasn't hooked up right. I upgraded up to the Hopper 3 now and it works great. I didn't pay the $100 dollar upgrade fee because of all the problems I have had the last 3 months. Their customer service is the problem. They try to get you to upgrade for a fee. Why would I upgrade for a fee when the stuff I have now doesn't work. I tried to keep the swearing down over the phone but they just bring it out of you! I only gave them 3 stars because of all the hassle I had to go through to get them to make it right! So be like a dog with a bone and don't give up!

I have had Dish Network for years without a problem. Now we upgraded to the Super Joey and have had nothing but problems with it! 3 techs have been here and all 3 have told me they are junk! Don't even know why they should install them. I have been dealing with this for 3 months now. Now they want me to upgrade to the Hopper 3. Of course for a $100 dollar fee! I asked to just put my old equipment back in and they said they can't. I said my bill never went down for the 3 months. I am paying for a service that doesn't work. I am giving them one more try to get it fixed. If that doesn't work I am going to dump them!

Very disappointing experience with a company who cares nothing about its customers. My husband has ALS and had a very difficult time, not only with the controls, but with the operation itself. It was very confusing and frustrating for him. He tried for a couple of week and became more and more frustrated. They didn’t care one iota. Still charged us $468 to disconnect. Not willing to talk about it at all. Hard lesson learned.

I was a previous Fish customer so I was well aware of auto billing after your trial services end or if you change any of the services then the 2 year deal goes back to normal changes. So when they put the services in I told them do add the trial services.... They said they can not do that because it comes as a bundle. Then I go to their website and select do not renew after trial has ended. Guess what. Nobody has any record of that.
In the meantime I see the auto payment getting billed high than normal and call to ask what happened. Then some manager says, "Oh I see that it didn't accept it." So they give a credit but then my next bill comes and of course it higher by a few dollars and when I get transferred to an escalation dept, they say I should be charged for 2 days of services and I have reached my max credit and I should be happy that I have a deal with dish. Unbelievable. I said if it was their website they should be able to go back and look at what I did but of course when I go back to the website the choices have come off like they just selected whatever they wanted. I bet if I chose to add channels it would happily go thru. Be careful what choices you make.

Immediately they apologised. Said I'd receive a refund in 7 days.... it's now the 29th and still no refund. They swear they sent one. I conference called them.with my bank. And my bank told them nothing from Dish was deposited on my card. Now they're saying it will take 5 to 7 business days for them to look into it then another 7 to 10 business days to start a new refund.

Dish came out to troubleshoot my connection and while here sold me a headset for $70. Seven weeks later the headset volume started cutting in and out. I called Dish who told me to contact I-Hip for service. I-Hip said they are NOT responsible for anything sold by DISH. I then called DISH again and they said this only has a 30-day warranty. What a rip-off. I am cancelling my DISH service which I have had for over 14 years! Their loss.

We signed up for Dish since they advertised their Dish Anywhere service as a great way to watch sports and your favorite programs while away from your home. We purchased a Firestick since the Dish Anywhere app is not available on Smart TVs and uploaded the app to the firestick. At first it worked but was very frustrating having to reauthorize, login with user name and password more than once, etc. This morning I wanted to watch the NFL playoff games and this time it wouldn't work at all. Dish tech support woman was rude and asked me why they transferred me to her since the App is "having issues and doesn't work".
I called, asked to the customer service to cancel the service since it doesn't work and they said they would be happy to cancel but would charge a $200+ cancellation fee. I asked why there would be a cancellation fee since what we signed up for doesn't work. They said because I was cancelling early. If you plan on traveling look for a service that have remote access that works.

I have had the most unsatisfactory experience with DISH Network. I have been a Dish customer for many years. 13 months ago, Dish contacted me and offered to upgrade the equipment. The new equipment was comprised of a hopper and 2 joeys to serve 3 TVs. The sales rep offered a discounted service at $34.01/mo for a period of 12 months and said that his system would not allow him to offer the promotion for a longer period. He also suggested that I call back in 12 months to get an automatic extension for an additional 12 months.
After 12 months, the monthly subscription suddenly jumped to $69.01. I called Dish, spoke with Scott (Agent# **) and asked him to honor the sales rep's promise. He flatly refused stating that there was no such note in the system and that he would train that sales rep to not repeat such a mistake. Scott made no effort to help me. So, I told him to cancel the service at which point he said that I must pay a termination fee of $220. This is egregious and I find this to be a very customer unfriendly organization. I have refused to pay the termination fee on the basis that they failed to keep their promise. Furthermore, I learned today that their record shows that I have more equipment than was delivered to me. Their system shows 1 hopper and 3 joeys whereas I was delivered 1 hopper and 2 joeys. I foresee another battle with them when I return the equipment. They are going to demand that I return equipment that was never delivered.

Today 12/28/19 I called and cancelled the service. I got the usual runaround with various people winding up with Ramon. Back in November I got a big increase in my bill. At that time Rep said my 2 year contract had expired. I said cancel my service. Would have not cost anything. I can get local channels off the air and news off the internet. Transferred to a new rep to handle details and she said, "How about a flex pack with only the channels you want." She told me what they were and I said ok. New bill would be $67.03. What she didn't tell me was that I was signing another 2 year contract and that even though I was getting the channels I want I was going to get another 200 or junk channels that you have to surf through to see the channels you want to see. You can't get rid of them because by contract they have to put them in everybody's pack as Direct gets revenue from them. Thus the call today to cancel.
"Ramon" says they are going to bill me for 23 months remaining $217.26 on the contract I didn't know I was signing. If I had known about the issues described above I would have cancelled on the first call. I will send back all their equipment once they send me the prepaid boxes. I am pondering whether or not I'm going to pay the bill. I think they send you to a collection agency if not paid but not sure. This company and other satellite companies are a plague on the human race.
