Customer of over 20 years basically paying for basic antenna service my bad. They raise without justification or warning and no Upgrade to the service. You call customer service if you can call it that. They shut service off without permission. For almost 70 a month you at least expect to get 1/2 of what Netflix offers. Nope. I can't wait to throw that unsightly satellite away!!!

Great customer service support & Easy install. They have great pricing. I get signal in thunderstorms, with my previous company I didn't. I love how the remote control lights up as soon as you touch it. You can auto tune your whole night & day of shows. DVR included and many more features that I didn't get with my previous company. I was with another company for 15+ years and this month they wouldn't give me a loyalty discount. I could not afford $115.99 a month for TV service. Decided to try Dish and I'm glad I switched. I highly recommend Dish!

I called a local Dish Network provider and discussed the different plans available. Made it very clear that needed service provided for 2 TVs in 2 different rooms. Came to an agreement on a two-year contract. Dish Network was installed very next morning. Everything looked like it worked great. That night when my roommate got home and tried to use the Dish Network he was getting a message that was already in use. Came to find that we could not both use the Dish Network from two different TVs at the same time.
Next morning I called the provider and informed them of the problem not being able to use the network on both TVs at the same time. The service rep told me very clearly that service only is allowed for one TV to be used at a time. I again informed her that I had requested service for 2 TVs in different rooms and expect to be able to use them both. Her response and I'm quoting her "did you ask if you could use them both at the same time?" After several rounds of discussing this with the service rep it was very clear I was not getting anywhere. All their equipment was packed up and returned to them the next day and told them to cancel the service which is only the second day after I ordered it. They have now turned the $574 bill for the two-year service contract over to collection company and is affecting my credit score. Needless to say I would not ever consider using this company again. We had DISH Network for 1 year and were paying $89.00 a month for the first 3 months then it jumped to $110.00. Needless to say we dumped them but upon calling to cancel was told me that we would have to pay over $200.00 disconnect fee. I stated our service was always spotty and no one has ever addressed this and then spoke about the pricing increase and was told, "So what. You can not just disconnect service for those reasons." I was then told they would be drafting these disconnection fees from my card on file without my permission. I told them I would not recommend they do this as that is illegal. My advise would be to never use this service no matter what. They are horrible.

In my opinion Dish Network has the worst customer service and most uncaring people working for it. Please whatever you do, DO NOT sign up for Dish Network services. I has been a loyal customer for over fifteen years. I didn’t raise a fuss when channels weren’t available (which was often) because of disputes from the channels' owners wanting more money. Why, because Dish Network was fighting for us the customers so we didn’t get higher costs for our service. Yet my service would go up each year, maybe not a lot but it did and I didn’t argue.
One month prior to writing this I saw my bill went up again, so I called. I spoke with a Customer Service Representative and asked if there was anything that could be done to lower my bill? She saw that I had been a customer for fifteen plus years and that because of that she could help and my bill would be lowered. It wasn’t much but I was fine with that because I liked the service. She informed me that doing this would enter me into a new two year contact. I did agree as again I had been a loyal customer for so long and hadn’t planned on going anywhere.
A few weeks after that I found out I will be losing my job. So today I called and said I would need to cancel my service and wanted to know how to return the equipment. I was immediately told, “I’m sorry to hear that and we can do that but you just did enter into a new agreement and there will be a $230.00 cancelation fee”! I asked if there was any way to waive this since I will be out of a job and the fact that I have been with Dish for so long. The CS Rep said “NO” we can’t do that. Not, “We won’t, but can’t”. That is a lie I found out later, they can but won’t.
I was offered a way of “Pausing” my subscription but paying $5.00 a month plus taxes for up to nine months, but at this point I wanted nothing to do with Dish any longer. Maybe if I was greeted with some form of caring for my situation at the beginning of the call and was told “Yes” we can cancel your subscription and waive the termination fee for being a long term loyal customer but then also offered the pausing deal I may have taken it.
When I asked to speak to a Supervisor, the reply was of course but they won’t be able to help you. She was correct, I spoke to two so called “Resolution Specialist” who informed me that the only conditions to waive the termination fee were being permanently institutionalized or DEATH. So I can be unemployed and possible homeless and still have to pay their BLOOD MONEY! I have been in Customer Service my entire life, and rarely have I come across multiple people working for the same company with such uncaring and complete disgust for their customers. SO PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE EVER THINKING OF BECOMING A DISH NETWORK CUSTOMER.

We got our latest Comcast bill and decided it's time to try something different because Comcast pricing was getting ridiculous. Dish advertisements for 80,000 on demand movies and TV shows seemed great, plus it was a lot cheaper. Cursory reviews seemed adequate. This review is for people who are thinking of switching from Comcast. Here's what they're not telling you.
The vast majority of the Dish On Demand features are pay features. On Comcast we could literally scroll endlessly through free movie and TV offerings on demand. If you are lead to believe that Dish is like this, except better, you are going to be sorely disappointed. We counted 74 free titles by pushing the On Demand button. There is an awkward, non-intuitive way to bring up more by selecting certain categories but the bottom line is the selection of free movies is abysmal. After calling we were told that we could get more on demand features by looking within the channels themselves and I asked how user friendly is that? Instead of having a collection all in one place we have to land on and search each and every individual channel? And wouldn't you know the gentleman at Dish had to agree.
Do you like your "Mark Watched" feature? It's very helpful when watching a TV series on demand. Kiss that goodbye. If you do want to look through your 74 free movies it doesn't load completely all of the time so you cannot see a picture of the cover, just text of a movie title which makes assessing the movie more difficult. It's about three steps to delete a recording once you finally figure that out. It often gets hung up "buffering" (even for recordings for some strange reason) and sometimes it will just hang up altogether. Navigation is clunky. And we have lost all of our recordings from Comcast.
We called Dish wanting to cancel on the grounds that it was misleading to advertise 80,000 on demand shows and movies when in fact you must pay more for the majority of those. Cancelling is no problem, all we had to do is pony up nearly half a grand and we could go back to normal. $20 per month for 24 months penalty. Would could have cancelled for free within the first 24 hours but 24 hours is not nearly enough time to figure out just how bad they suck. Ultimately they told us we were stuck with them and they would not release us. If I remember right I had to wait for Monday-Friday during business hours just to complain. Comcast I can call 24/7.
Also, if you are thinking of cutting the cord and going all out for internet don't. The fiasco with CenturyLink is a whole other bad review. Luckily we has enough sense to keep our existing internet. Listen, there is a reason they only give you 24 hours to cancel. And there is a reason they don't offer a 30 day trial. Comcast may be more expensive but it's a much better product if you have access to it. If we could do it over, we would just renegotiate our Comcast package for 12 months. I hope this review saves someone the same experience.

We had DISH Network for 2 years and were paying $89.00 a month, when suddenly at the end of our 2 year commitment they raised our rate to $160.00 a month. Needless to say we dumped them and started looking for something else, as $160.00 a month for their worthless channels, which did not include a local channel at times like when all of the football playoff games were being shown since they always seemed to be in disputes with the local channels, was outrageous. And what we found was something much, much better, as we were able to get everything that we needed with Frontier Internet, which costs us only 79.00 a month for 1 gig of high speed internet that included phone service, and which amount of high speed internet was enough to stream Roku with on all of our TVs so as to not even need a satellite or cable provider, as Roku has hundreds of channels.
So instead of paying 89.00 a month to our former cable company for only 200,000 bytes of high speed internet and phone service, and another $89,00 a month to dish network for their worthless network, that goes out every time it starts raining hard, we are now getting everything we need for only 79.00 a month. Thanks for raising our rates so high dish, as we would have never thought to check this out if wasn't for your greed.

My father recently passed away. The Dish account was in his name. As we worked with my mom to get accounts moved to her name we hit a roadblock. First we called and got a foreign person who had broken English and was reading a script. She said we could change the name on the account only if we agreed to a 2 year contract. We refused and were sent next level. They read same script and when we refused a 2 year contract we were sent to another level. How greedy is this company that they have to make a profit on someone dying. This was such poor customer service we hung up and began shopping for another vendor. So instead of keeping an existing account they pushed us away. I don’t want to associate with a mega million company that feels they need to profit off a family's loss.

Our mother is 74 years old. She has been with Dish for 4.5 years. They pleaded with her not to terminate. Her bill is on auto draft so it’s always paid. She has to go into a nursing home. We stayed on The phone with Customer Service and the escalation department of some type to see how to terminate her services early. We spoke to three different people on several calls.? They said she had 19 months left on her contract. They did not want to terminate her contract by any means. They tried to have her transfer it to a family member so she would not be responsible for the remaining 19 months. That was impossible. Even her apartment complex is letting her break her lease, they are very understanding. Dish said she needed a letter from her doctor that states she is incapacitated. It Looks like we will have to drag her into the doctor's office with her being disabled just to get a letter.
This is all over $190 which Dish Should NOT hold her responsible since she has been loyal to them for years. She watches about 5 channels which is any Wrestling and My 600 pound life. Subscribed on the premise that I would be able to record multiple programs at the same time and that I would be able to watch the local Marlins baseball games. Was told that I would be able to record 4 programs. Later learned that it was only 3. What upsets me more is that they use 2 of the 3 recordings to record what they call Prime programming. This is an insult to the intelligence of all subscribers, like we were children and they knew what each of us like. I believe this is a way of fooling advertisers into a false sense that their ad dollars are been watched. To add salt to an injury, what this caused is that I found on multiple occasions that programming I had set to record were not recorded. The issue was brought to their attention on 3 occasions. They said that an additional box for which they charge an additional $30 would allow me to record an additional 2 programs. A waste of money, the same issues persisted.
They removed the automatic Prime programming recordings, but they set it back on after a week. Regarding the Marlins baseball games, it was all a lie to make me subscribe. I later learned that they do not have a contract to carry Marlins baseball. And, when you want to express your frustration for the lack of basic cable channels, they will suggest you do their dirty work and complain to TEGNA to demand that they give Dish a better deal for the channel, what kind of business asks their customers to go begging on their behalf, DISH network, that's who. Guess which other networks still allows you to watch NBC and won't have you calling other companies to complain on their behalf, Xfinity, DirecTV, etc.
This move should be the end of Dish, but they have their customers buy contract and they play on that to the tune of >$400 if you wish to cancel to do something simple like watch the Olympics when you pay $100 a month for cable! Getting DISH was the worst decision. I will drop them immediately once the cancellation fees are so high. Don't get lied to, go to another cable service.

We've been customers of Dish Network for 10 plus years. November of 2021 our box stopped working. We had contacted dish and they told us they could not replace our old box that we would have to switch to the hopper and if we switch to the hopper it would be $10 cheaper. We would pay $89 instead of $99 a month and we would also receive a $40 credit due to being without the TV for 2 weeks. We did receive the $40 credit on our first bill. As we received our February bill we are still paying $99 a month for our cable along with a two-year contract. Again this was absolutely a bait and switch situation. My mother, being 89 years old, asked if she could change satellite providers due to the rising cost with the one she had. The neighbors had DISH satellite, so she chose them too. Because of my mother’s age I take care of everything when she requires to have a serviceman come to her home. When she ordered DISH, she used my phone number to schedule people into her home - so I can be there to explain any issues that come up; I live next door.
The installation went well, and, as the installer was leaving, he asked if I needed security cameras - he could make a great deal on them because DISH had a special going on them. I asked many questions about the cameras, because I needed so many of them. The most important was - do we need to hard-wire in each camera, for communication, and for powering them up? He stated the cameras were wireless and that they had batteries that would last a very long time. Of course, I asked how long the batteries would last – he said 3 months with normal use. I was impressed, I asked for paperwork to prove this, but that never came.
I couldn’t find any reviews to see how the DISH camera was rated - JD powers said excellent, boy that was wrong! - I wonder what they have to get paid to print that? My first mistake was that I looked for this site to give a real review, but didn’t find it for several months later. So, in haste I ordered 54 cameras to do 2 homes and 2 out-buildings. MISTAKE #2 - Look harder for truthful reviews. I should have tried 1 or 2 cameras at first to see how the cameras perform. The batteries on the cameras don’t last 2 weeks much less 3 months.
The installer stated this project would be complete in 5 days or 7 days at most. I’m a contractor and I even asked that question 2 times regarding the completion date; the installer said he would work on Saturdays and Sundays if that was OK with me. The installer stated he would bring in more people to keep the completion date good. Half the material was delivered that day. However, all the material wasn’t on site for 6 weeks. The help came for 3 hours on the first day, and the same on the second day! Then, no one showed up for the next 5 days.
I then was very frustrated and called the complaint line 3 or 4 times. After many calls to the complaint line, I found a phone # to a company called High Power - they are the installers for DISH (DISH does not self-perform any work themselves). After 6 days the installer called me apologizing for the lack of people to do the job - all he said was the rep for installers in Kentucky would not get the manpower to my job to keep it moving along. That was the last time the installer called me. He said he was going to quit High Power because of the rep in Kentucky didn’t care about the customers.
These installers had no training how to properly install the cameras. The skill it takes to do this type of work neatly is not a part of High Power. I was embarrassed at what I found - drill holes made in in the trim and siding that were not used or even tried to be repaired; they just left the door bell cameras crooked. I had to furnish a boom lift for them to finish the job because they didn’t want to use a ladder.
In all there were 7 different people on my project - each and all complained about their wages, each one disliked the pay process to either to do the job, repair the cameras or just to show up, in that they didn’t get paid enough to fix or finish installing the cameras. I heard from every installer that they were the ones who deserved the bonus for this job, and that High Power doesn’t pay their people enough to keep the personnel engaged in the work. After calling the complaint line with DISH repeatedly and asking for the supervisor, I finally got a man named Hugo, who said there was no way to help me because if you don’t call in the first 30 days you are stuck with it, even after I stated they didn’t have the material or personnel to finish the project for more than 6 weeks.
All I can say “DON’T USE DISH OR HIGH POWER TO INSTALL SECURITY CAMERAS!!!” This is pitiful work, not up to any reasonable standard, and the installers are not skilled or trained enough. Learn from me and my mistakes - satellite DISH installers cannot do anything else but install satellite for TV’s. They don’t know the product they are trying to sell, and are very unhappy people - and Hugo is in the same category. At this date I am buying extra charging cords to install electric to every camera, including the doorbell cameras.
Sadly,Daniel

We've been with Dish Network on/off for over ten years. We mainly watch the local channels and a few of the cable news channels. Nothing premium. So our package has hundreds of channels for which we entered a contract. The problem is, and this has happened many times during our business relationship, Dish drops local channels quite often due to their negotiating disputes. They don't adjust your monthly rate, they just drop the channel and if you try to view the channel you get a message telling you as much with advice of how you can stream the channel with apps for additional fees paid directly to that network. This is criminal, right? Breach of contract, no? Like I said, this has happened many times and it's playoff season for the NFl and Dish dropped a local network within our contract that carries about 30% of the playoffs.

My last straw was when I set a timer on my dvr for a show I had been waiting a year to see. It was there and then sometime later it just disappeared. I have had this issue in the past. Therefore when I went to watch the show it was gone with no on demand or any way to watch it. Then when I called to cancel I have had NOTHING but grief. On 12/7/2021, I spoke to a Loyalty Department Specialist by the name of Chris at 866.218.2297. He confirmed that 24 months of service including tax will be $99.20. I asked numerous times before I signed over the phone to be sure of the price lock. January 2022, the bill is $114, so once again I called the same # and spoke to Jose in New Jersey on 01/04/22. I repeated the agreement and mentioned that since DISH NETWORK had broken the agreement, I want to cancel services.
Jose stated that he could not waive the early termination fee and asked how many TVs I had. I told him that I am not interested, so he passed me on to a Senior Loyalty Specialist by the name of Rocky. I explained to her what I had explained to Jose. She stated they will review and get back to me via phone. Still no response! This has fraudulent business activity all over it!

Was a Dish customer for 13 years. I have autopayment. I called to terminate my subscription because of increase in premium in spite of 3 local channels having been removed for months. I called to remove autopay (EFT) on my account and received confirmation 3 times that this would be the case. Today, they processed autopay charging me for the upcoming month. When I requested a refund, the Resolution Department that I waited over an hour to be transferred to, informed that it will take 17 days for Dish to refund me because autopay was using my checking account. I told them that this was unacceptable and they informed that this was the only way for me to be refunded. DO NOT participate in autopay with Dish. The customer service is as poor as their service offerings.

I've had DISH out to work on my reception twice. There are no trees or obstruction anywhere. I'm in basically a field and the reception is terrible. Watching football and the signal goes down sometimes 3 or 4 time every 5 minutes and it's always at critical times in the game. I miss so much of the game and instead of enjoying the game I get so frustrated. I'm going to change my provider and I would never recommend DISH to my worst enemy. It's worthless!

We called because for the last 2 days our signal has been spotty and today it finally stopped working altogether. The first call I was hung up on after explaining we had done the first 5 steps on the error message. The second call I spoke with a person who checked the signal and installation of the switch and everything was fine so they said we would have to make an appointment for a technician to come out.
The next available appointment is January 4th. I asked what the amount would be if we cancelled our service and they said because they upgraded our receiver, which we did not ask for, when we moved it restarted our contract. After the customer service I had received I asked to cancel and they transferred me to an account specialist who tried to talk me into staying. This rep was constantly talking over me, openly laughed at me and basically called me an idiot. I will NEVER recommend Dish to anyone ever.

Their people can't get their stories straight now, one said it would cost 240.00 to cancel and then the next customer service I talked to said 260.00. Which is it. I will tell you more lies. I called again and explained I could not have a Satellite at the apartment. The first CSR was friendly and explained if I could provide a lease or letter stating satellite was not allow the fees would be waived, she then transferred me over to another department who refused the letter and lease, stating the full termination fee was due. I asked about the box and all they could tell me was I had to upgrade to the hopper for $15 more a month. I asked about swapping out the 222 box for a refurbished but was told not possible and I had to upgrade to this hopper for more money a month. Sad but the only other choice is Directv (BAD, BAD, BAD) or optimum (LOUSY, LOUSY, LOUSY). Time to get out the books and start reading again. Well I am keeping people in mind before they order Dish Network. It sucks. This is the absolute worse TV source/company I have ever had. All day long it asks you if you are finished watching, well God forbid you did not see that 60 second message on the screen, so therefore your show that you were right in the middle of (watching or just listening to), shuts off. Remember it does this all day and all night long. It is very slow on everything you try and do such as go back to the channel you were watching (but is over now and you missed the best part).
At least once a day I have to reset it by unplugging the cute (stupid really) little Joey for 25 seconds and if that does not work (which it usually doesn't), you have to go back into your phone, look up Dishnetwork.com troubleshooting and reread how to fix a black screen (which works sometimes) and then if the troubleshooting does not work then you get to call customer service, wait on hold for however long it is that day and have a customer service person (who you usually can't understand) to walk you through it.
Well people not sure about you, I might not have much of a life but enough to where I don't feel like wasting my time on this ** constantly. So if you were thinking about ordering Dish Network, don't because you will be sorry. It is a freaking nightmare. Now I hate Suddenlink but I'd much rather use them again than put up with this crap any longer, at least their channels don't go out in the rain, that's a plus and if you live in Texas you know that it has been raining for basically 3 years straight. If you added the days and time up for how many days it has rained in Texas over the past 3 years you should have a lot of money that was spent on nothing literally.
Make your own decision but trust me on this one, if you order dish network you will be very very disappointed, pissed off and wasted a lot of your time. Oh and one more little thing to add to the list of terrible things about dish network, they took away channels because they were in a fight with other broadcasters about money, so my favorite channel CBS 11 is no longer available on dish network anymore but the bill certainly hasn't changed. They did not even tell anyone they were taking them off the air. I guess they figured since they are so intelligent like they claim to be all of the time and we are so stupid that we would not even notice. Hmmmm well how wrong they were. Thanks for listening.

We are sports fans and Dish made all the right promises. We have had dish services for 8 months. All the issues started with “their” dispute with KFMB (San Diego, CA affiliate for CBS Network)… and not providing the basic network services as promised. When we finally got fed up with going to a sports bar on Sunday mornings to watch our favorite teams and just simply missing out during the week - we called to cancel.
Granted, she tried to offer a solution of coming out to install an antenna, Really! How about just providing the service. This has been a problem we’ve been dealing with for months. We would call and they would refer us to KFMB (just a side note: KFMB settled all their contracts with all other providers except Dish), why not offer the solution when we were reaching out, and then to throw salt in the wound a 300.00 cancellation fee. We’ve since signed up with Hulu, so not only are we saving 35.00/month which will make up the cancellation fee in 9 months, we are now provided with all the basic networks. I’m writing this review because as sports fans had we seen a review like this it would have saved us a lot of trouble and money.

I have been a Dish customer for more than 2 years. This September I wanted to be able to view shows from the DVR on my computer. I received an error stating my DVR hopper was out of date. I contacted support about getting a newer model. I wasn't made aware that requesting a newer model also meant locking in to another 2 year contract. I was told what the price would be and agreed. The next month the bill was going to be more than 20.00 more than they said it would be so I 'worked with them for an hour on the phone' and the price was changed. The monthly cost though was not changed (they never changed it) and I had to contact them again in October. They got it 'straightened' around and the bill was ok in October.
Now I receive notice of the bill this month (November) and it is scheduled to be 30.00 more than last month! My takeaway is: 1. know that any time you make a significant change to your account they may extend your contract x2 years. 2. Know that what they tell you on the phone may not be true. I had 3 different employees tell me one thing, but something else was the final result. Whether they lied or someone further up the 'food chain' changed it I don't know. So today I told them I wanted to cancel. The employee offered to give me a one time 25.00 credit... but what is the point when I can't trust what my bill is going to be next month? My suggestion would be to go with Sling or another service that does not lock you into a contract. Oh... if you cancel the contract early... it's 20.00 for every remaining month ($460.00 in my case since they had extended the contract). Buyer beware!

That includes equipment and taxes, including 3 months of Showtime and Starz, and I was told, after 3 months it'll be $100 with Showtime and Starz and stay that price for the rest of my 24 month agreement. That was a lie. It went to $117 after 3 months. After a year, it went to $127 and stayed that way until now. I got a November bill and went from $127 to $167, and I had blackout stations on Fox, then ABC, now NBC and all lasted two months at least, and the signal cuts out all the time, and no RSN, no Fox Sports Ohio with Dish Network, so I went back to Spectrum. Got 175+ stations with HBO and Showtime. After equipment and taxes, it came out to be $100 a month, for a year, after that goes up $20 more after a year.
After Spectrum got me hooked up and running, I called Dish to cancel my service. The guy was a loser on the phone, trying to sell me more ** on, "I could of gotten your $167 bill to $40 less a month." We are moving into a new home that does not currently have a satellite dish and we decided we did not want a satellite dish on the house and would try a streaming service instead.
When I told the representative we were going to cancel, he was very polite and as expected, tried to persuade me not to cancel. However, his persistent questions about my home’s internet speed and data usage finally became annoying. When he realized he was not going to change my mind, the tone of the call changed completely. We had just been billed $153. 10 for another month of service a few days before we decided to cancel. I asked if they would prorate this month’s charges, or should I wait until the end of the next billing cycle to cancel. I was assured that I would receive a prorated credit.
Then I was informed about the termination fees and excessive charges to return equipment! The representative claimed that we had subscribed to a new contract a year ago and that we had another year remaining in our contract commitment and therefore would be charged an additional $10 per month for the remainder of the contract. Neither my wife and I recall ever contacting DISH about any changes to our subscription and do not believe it was true. The representative insisted that we had signed up for a new package and would not agree to cancel our service until we gave him a credit card to pay for all the additional fees! I believe it cost us nearly $180 just to cancel our service after all those years. I was a satisfied customer for almost 15 years but even if I’m not satisfied with my new streaming service (which I expect I will be), I will NEVER do business with this company again.

Where to start this nightmare. Ok about 4 months ago I was using Google Chromecast to get my TV service. My brother was paying for Spectrum internet because he was living with me. So when he moved out he turned off the internet service. This was when I started looking around for a deal. I found two. One was for 49.99 which would be just the internet. And I would still have to pay for the stations I was getting through Google Play. I also found a deal Dish was offering. This deal was a bundle deal with Windstream. You picked out which Dish package you wanted and to add on Windstream internet it would 27.00 extra to the deal. So I thought I would go for the America's Top 180 channels for 64.95 and add the internet for 27.00. Also they offered a 100 gift card for signing up.
Anyhow long story short. I was told that they did offer this bundle deal in my area. That Windstream was in my ZIP code. So they set everything up with Windstream. And both Dish and Windstream technicians came to.my house. At the same time. So I was happy until I got my bills. Windstream was 100 And Dish was charging me 79.95. I started calling Dish customer service. These calls went on for over an hour until finally someone put me through to their loyalty department. Ok this is when I guess my phone conversations were actually being recorded. Because now customer service said that I didn't start calling them until last month. But I really started calling them at the beginning of August. When I got my first bill.
Also I found out through all the customer service rudeness and being put on hold. That Dish hasn't bundled with Windstream in over 4 years. But the advertisement I saw and called was posted March of 2021. So they lied to get me into a 2 year contract. Plus they had Windstream come out and put their internet into my house at 63. Dollars a month also under a two year contract with them. So I was told before signing anything that my bill would be around 90 dollars for the TV and internet. Instead I'm paying 179. Dollars. I am on a fixed income. I'm doing kidney dialysis twice a week. And when I'm not doing that I'm fighting with Dish to either give me what they promised me or let me out of this contract. So far after 3 and a half months of this nothing has changed.
Dish says there is no such deal out there where they offer 27.00 internet through Windstream. But you can look up Dish and Windstream bundles and it pops right up. Windstream also called them to tell them about the ad and how it's false advertisement. So now they are telling me it really doesn't matter if they said they could do something and didn't. Because I waited too long to report the problem. They are saying like I said before that I didn't start calling to report the problem until last month. This is not true. Last month was the first time customer service put me though to their loyalty department. But before that I started calling them toward the end of July beginning of August.
I was hung up on and called names. Told to take it up with Windstream. So that's when Windstream finally called Dish and third partied are conversation. Last month and that's also when I guess Dish started keeping track of my calls. I am not able to pay these bills. And I can't afford to get out of the contract. Now on top of all this crap they took my local channels away. But still charge me 12 dollars for them. I have had to start using my Chromecast again so I can watch my locals that I am having to pay Google Store monthly for And no one is willing to help me. This is crazy.

I called Dish Network just to get pricing and availability in my area, as my wife and I reside in a rural area where normal broadband & TV package providers are not available. I have never had "customer service" as terrible as what I received from two different representatives. The first sounded like a young woman. I told her from the start that I would not be signing up today, as I ONLY wanted pricing on TV and satellite internet so that my wife and I could discuss it, and determine if it met our needs and budget.
Before she would even give a price on TV alone, she needed my birthdate and social security number for a credit check. I asked her what a credit check had to do with just getting a package price, and she would not relent. So, I finally gave her that information and then she wanted a credit card number! At this point, I have become more than a little irate. Again, no price quote of ANY kind. I told her to forget it and hung up.
I then tried calling this morning, and spoke with Anthony. Not only did he require the same information, but when I refused to give it to him, he began to argue with me! When I told him that price information had NOTHING to do with credit history, and that all I wanted was a price for TV and sat internet, he responded with "If I told you it was $10, would you believe me?" So, not only rude, but sarcastic as well? I have gotten price quotes from all sorts of providers, spanning multiple industries, and NEVER have I had to provide any of my personal information of that sort, when just SHOPPING. This is the worst TV service I have ever had! Service would freeze up and reboot all the time. When I called in for help I would be on hold for an hour or more just for them to tell me to call back when I was having the issue which would fix itself by the time they would answer. A supervisor service tech came out and told me the service was improperly installed. He said he reinstalled it the right way and that I shouldn't have any more issues. Guess what. NOT fixed, same issues happening just as much as I was having before he "fixed" it. My suggestion is to save your money and go somewhere else for your TV services!

THIS IS THE WORST AND MOST IRRESPONSIBLE COMPANY I COULD EVER IMAGINE... Do not trust them with your bank account!! Please read before giving it to them!!! I am a VERY reasonable person, and actually have never even written a negative review on a company. That's because I've never had a company actually steal large amounts of money from me... like this one. Errors happen, and I'm always very kind about a company making a simple error...or even two! But THIS is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than anything I have ever experienced as a customer... Of ANY business!
Dish took $825 from my account in their OWN ERROR, which they blatantly admit. They clearly saw on their end where they WERE NOT authorized to take that money from me. I was passed around on hold for an hour and a half, but was eventually told by customer service that all $825 would be returned to me within a few weeks' time. I was fine with that- companies make mistakes, and as long as they make it right- I'm always thankful to them and move on. I waited patiently for the refund to appear on my account. HOWEVER, the refund NEVER ARRIVED in my bank account AS THOROUGHLY PROMISED. I was REASSURED OVER AND OVER that I was getting ALL $825 back that they had stolen IN ERROR.
I called to- YET AGAIN - be passed around, telling the same thing to 6 different people. All of the representatives agreed and apologized for their numerous back to back errors on my account over several months. All representatives agreed that I was owed $825, and was supposed to receive it several weeks ago. But AGAIN...there was ANOTHER ERROR when someone failed to hit the "submit" button to issue the refund. Okay fine...I'm irritated...but as long as they fix it I'll get over it, just give me my refund, RIGHT!?
So I'm AGAIN (for the second time) passed through the chain of command to a "senior representative" just for the purpose of another "authorization" for my large refund. Instead of an apology, and quickly issued refund DUE TO ANOTHER EMPLOYEE ERROR to "submit it"... I was now actually DENIED my refund, and TOLD that "TOO MUCH TIME had passed for them to give me my $825 refund..." DESPITE the EXTENSIVE errors being ADMITTEDLY 100% ON THEIR END!! I was so upset, that's A LOT OF MONEY!
I truly don't believe they ever intended to give me my money back. THEIR CLAIMS TO "FORGET" to push "submit" for my refund...are ONLY SO THEY COULD SAY SOME MADE UP "TIME FRAME" HAD PASSED... BY THE TIME I CALLED TO SAY I NEVER GOT IT! THIS WAS A SCAM TO KEEP MY MONEY THAT THEY STOLE FROM MY ACCOUNT. The "senior representative" was rude and kept telling me to "take it up with my bank". My bank didn't steal from me, THEY DID!!!
They would not let me speak to anyone higher, even though I repeatedly asked and demanded to. She admitted that she COULD go back and listen to the recorded phone call where I was promised the $825 from another employee...but she REFUSED. THANK YOU DISH... I will not stay quiet about your scams until I am issued my $825 that you admittedly stole from my bank account and promised to return to me in august 2021.

I purchased Dish Network in Dec.2020. I canceled the service in July 2021. In this short stint I never had programming a full month without interruption. They came out multiple times and never could seem to fix the outages. I was more than enough patient. So, when July came I decided enough was enough. I knew I was in contract but at this point I was paying for service I could only watch a couple weeks out of a month. So, I called and explained to them the problems I was experiencing. I felt it was fair enough to split the early contract because I never had much service during the 8 months. They disagreed and made me pay 340 bucks in early termination fees. Their stipulation was to give them yet another chance to try and fix the problem. They would then agree to cancel and not charge me for the early termination fee.
I rejected and told them I had been patient enough in the course of 8 months. I asked them what they possibly could change as they never fixed it before. I feel like this was their way of getting 340 more bucks out of the 120 dollar package I received 2 weeks a month if that. It always took a week or more to get a Tech to your house. So I bit the bullet, coughed up the 340 bucks and went back to DIRECTV. I was previously with them for 12 years before my 8 month stint with Dish. Since the switch back no service interruptions and great customer service. My advice stay away from Dish Network. If they would had split the money then I would not be writing this review. The salesperson even recommended a specific installer, Who I personally would recommend, this person went beyond his scope of installation, and made sure that we were not just satisfied, but informed on every feature, discount and every question was answered in detail. Who does this these days? Just DISH. Our old Satellite provider (Direct TV), upsells and makes promises that they conveniently forgot to put into writing, installed bad equipment (which they have had to replace at least 5 times because it was faulty), they had constant rate increases, AT&T owns DirecTV but hasn't combined them with their billing, so you have to go on a search just to pay a bill.

Of course by then you have accrued charges that will be "pro-rated" due to the price increase and the mid month billing notice..(prior to your renegotiating your bill).

I had Dish TV for just over 2 years. Throughout the tenure of my 24 month contract the only complaint I had was the customer service. Many times the queue was long and almost always routed to a offshore call center. Having managed a call center for many years I am fully aware of the cost of offshore call centers versus the stateside call centers. While I personally don't believe the difference is worth the hassles customers often experience, I understand the bottom line is often the determining factor.
That being said, if a company determines that the savings justifies the decision so be it. But you can minimize the difficulties by insisting on having people who speak "understandable" English. Dish has not done this. They also make it standard operating procedure to deny a customer's access to a supervisor or manager. A simple request to discontinue service led to many many phone calls and their simple refusal to accept that I no longer wanted their product. Their insistence on following the provided script became comical and then insulting. I continued to say no and they kept trying to sell me on why I was being stupid. They went as far as to say they did not believe the deal I got with a competitor. To me that is the same as calling me a liar. I do not recommend Dish. Where to begin? I have been a DISH customer for 13 years. I feel that their technology was the best and their customer service is great. BUT. They said they no longer supported the old hardware when my TV went out due to lost SAT signal and that my only option was upgrade. (By the way that turned out to be a lie.) As a long time customer I did not expect have to sign onto a contract but they wanted a 2 year commitment, I said no. I was prepared to cancel so they waived the contract. If you are in a similar situation - don't move as fast as I did.
What they DON’T tell you is that you will be getting an inferior Hopper product if you do this. They will give you a Hopper w/ Sling 3 tuner system. They DON’T tell you there are several versions of the Hopper so you think you are getting what you see on TV ads - but you aren’t. I gave up a 2 DVR - 4 tuner system. The Hopper I got means constant recording and viewing conflicts for my users. Meanwhile, DISH has a Hopper with 16 tuners they simply to refuse to give you without a 2 year contract, The Hopper 3. This Hopper would have made me whole but they just weren't interested in giving it to me.
I have shown that I am a loyal customer, the type you would think they would like to keep but the brainiacs making these decisions obviously have no clue. I am moving as fast as possible to recreate my tv system with a Tivo OTA and streaming so I can cancel my Dish subscription ASAP. All the time and money they spent upgrading me to an inferior system will go right down the drain. Dish is in a market space that is losing customers at an astounding rate. You would think they would want to keep the loyals - but nope, they don't. I was treated like garbage by DISH during this upgrade (and it was not an upgrade by any stretch) and I won't forget it. I was on the phone with multiple customer service people for 2 hours during the install. Be warned. Do your homework before calling Dish about an issue with a 722 or an upgrade. I have had Dish for almost 20 years, their service has always been good until 2020 and then their price went sky high and their service went the opposite direction. I have called about Dish Anywhere that supposedly anyone gets when purchasing an account. Apparently that is NOT something a valued customer gets. The streaming networks are looking much better as I cannot access my 20 year account anywhere and they want to charge me more than the 150 per month to get access to it anywhere even though they advertise it is free with new accounts. Not recommending Dish as a preferred cable option.

We were moving into a new house and looking for a cable provider but no local services were available so we signed up with Dish. Big Mistake #1 -- I didn't read the fine print closely enough and they don't provide a full copy of their contract on the website so I electronically signed a two-year contract. When I complained they sent me (days later) a copy which was the first time I saw the "termination fee" -- $20 per month left on your contract -- $460 in my case. Big Mistake #2 -- I agreed to their "basic" 190-channel service. I tried to review the channel selection on their website but it was so confusing and hard to navigate I had no good idea of what they were offering. (I tried again later and after copying and pasting it into three different programs found they were showing 231 channels as "offered as part of their "190 channel package". List runs 20+ pages in MS Word!)
Big Mistake #3 -- I thought I saw a "30-day-free-trial" blurb on their website. I was told (after two 15 minute waits) when I called the first time to complain that if there was such a blurb it was by a "local supplier" and they were not bound by it. Once I started trying to watch DISH programming I discovered another problem with their "channel offerings" list -- the list included many channels I had no interest in -- music, foreign language, "shop at home", religious, political talk, sports, etc -- and also a large number of "Pay per view" and "subscription" channels that I question being described as "available". I would give a better accounting but their "on screen guide" makes it difficult to analyze their offerings in any structured manner.
When I complained about the disconnect fee to a customer service rep she was careful to remind me I had signed the contract and if I didn't pay the fee it would be turned over to a collection agency. Yeah, real friendly -- right on the verge of extortion. In short they only want your money, They don't see any problem with their website and their business model is to see how many ways they can milk customers. Yes, I strongly regret not checking into Dish more thoroughly. I've got lots of places that money should go. I'll do my best to let other folks know how Dish treated me.

Overall terrible customer service! I recently moved and contacted Dish to install my new service, that part went OK. Once the technician arrived (2 hours earlier than their automated system indicated) he stated I could not get a strong enough signal to receive their service and left. This is where the problems began, I called to Dish to cancel my subscription and get a refund for what I had already paid. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to accomplish this. I was repeatedly put on hold and transferred to the wrong department three different times. I finally gave up after over an hour on hold or talking to the "wrong department" and still have not received my refund.
This is very frustrating and I do not understand how there was literally no wait at all to order service but when they can not provide the service why it would take this much trouble to get the service cancelled and get a refund. Very disappointing, I feel like this is an intentional tactic in order to keep from having to pay a refund.

More pressure applied and I said, "Please don't keep asking because I will just say no." Long story short, I was charged a disconnect fee of $30 (not an early disconnect, just a disconnect fee) and, because personally turning in the equipment is not available, I am also being charged an additional $30 for two mailing boxes ($15 each), even though I have the original boxes the equipment came in!!!! I live and breathe email so I know how to use my emails but while at a UPS store (by the way, nowhere near my home), neither I nor the UPS Sales Associate could find the UPS label affixed to the RMA. I first called the Dish Manager who didn't answer and so I called Dish Outdoors and spoke to an Associate who was condescending and spoke to me as though I was inept. He repeated over and over that I need to check my email. He also stated, "I've never seen this happen before." I think that phrase is one of the worst things a Customer Service agent could say to a customer. It makes the customer feel like they are stupid.
I expressed my frustration with the situation but I didn't get the impression that he really cared. The Customer Service Agent said that he needed to send a help desk ticket to I.T. and it would be a 24/48 hour turnaround time. This occurred on Saturday afternoon. Tuesday afternoon, having not received an email from I.T., I contacted Dish Outdoors again. Customer Service said it's 24/48 BUSINESS hours before I may receive word from I.T. The Customer Service agent was not too concerned with my happiness. This should not be my problem but it turned into a huge hassle, I'm sitting on expensive equipment that should not be my responsibility to figure out how to return. This equipment/service is a lot of money to spend for the type of customer service that I've received thus far.

A year passed and that promotion did not materialize. I called the company several times complaining about this issue without getting a satisfactory result. I had to cancel the service and replace it with another provider (Directv). Since I cancelled the service before the end of my contract, I had to pay $20.00 per month for the remaining period of the contract which was 12 months. I paid $240.00 The company then charged me additional $80.00 which I refused to pay because Dish Network preached the contract for not providing the premium channels. As a result dish network used a collection agency and reported me to the credit bureaus.
Afterward, I kept receiving calls from technicians claiming that they are Directv and would like to make corrections to my programming and asked me to use the Directv remote to go through this process. I did not believe them and disconnected their call since my service was working fine. The caller ID on my phone indicated that those phone calls were from dish network and not from Directv. Dish network wanted to disable my Directv service and acted like a Mafia with technological knowledge. When we moved to a remote location in Ohio near an Amish community, we needed a service which allowed us access to television and internet service for our son to be able to continue his high school education. The company responded in a quick set up installation. However the allotted internet monthly ceiling quickly was used up halfway through the month resulting in slower speed connections and being billed for extra needed service for our son's daily education classes for school. The internet was not used for online live gaming or movie streaming, due to time gaps that prevent continuous communication.
When Frontier Communications offered to connect us to land network, we worked to coordinate disconnection in a more than timely manner and returned equipment through UPS delivery per DISH instructions. Then 1 year later, I began receiving bills for service that I could not have used without being connected to their services. When I called to complain, there were no records of our account at Customer service to find, other that billing charges owed, then more added saying equipment not being returned. UPS tracking showed on our end pickup and delivery was completed and proved to us that additional months billing should not have occurred with no service due to no device to make connections. Yet Dish argued that 4 months of service still needed to be paid and for equipment not being returned. Dish never resolved this issue and eventually set it to collections. Too expensive but needed. With all the streaming services they need to be available via Dish and not having to pay individually. I am paying for 5 additional streaming services which have overlapping programs.

It's raining, I'll watch tv. Well that's not going to work because every time it rains the Dish service would go out. I have switched companies. Life is good. Always check reviews before committing to anything.

Dish Network is the best tv service we have ever had. We have been loyal subscribers now for 15 years. If anything goes wrong, which it usually does not, they are quick to respond to fix the problem. Great lineup of programs and always monthly 'perks' where you can watch things that you may not subscribe to.

Great selection/variety of channels. Excellent perks and, when you call, always trying to find ways to add services and saving money. Recently got the Hopper and we are loving it! Competitive pricing.

Of all the 160+ channels it’s not worth the money to get because half of the channels are about selling something 25% is about religion and 10% of old channels. Ridiculous price and then they take away your local channels and then say that it’s not their fault.

Overall, good services and picture quality. Annoying is when you turn on tv and their tools/menus are all over the place blocking the view and also when you change the channel and are asked "are you sure"- Duh.

I am satisfied with Dish. I would choose him anytime. It’s great for my autistic grandchild. He loves watching Nickelodeon and Disney Channel and the learning channel. I have had other services and I was unsatisfied with them. And I will not return back to the provider that we had.

Access to local channels is not consistent. They are always in negotiations and now we have lost CBS and the Buffalo Bills games which is not acceptable. Earlier this year we lost channel 7 as they were in negotiations. Of course no reduction in bill unless you call.

Overpriced, refuses to help during pandemic. Charges are out the roof to suspend service, there shouldn't be a contract. No type of assistance has helped in 2 weeks. Customer service is horrible. I would not go with them again.

We've had Dish for 7 years. Not happy with the price increases (from $79/mo to $149/mo). Also not happy with the recent cancellation of NBC and FOX on our TV (because of a dispute with onestar?). We're checking out changing to another company.

My only issue is packages have many repetitive channels viewing the same shows but are counted as separate, and there are way too many shopping and junk or non-informative channels that I DO NOT view. A waste of my money at the benefit of the company!

It’s the only one with Hopper, which gives you the choice to skip over commercials. Excellent customer service, are willing to work with me on cost, since I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. Unlike Comcast, they give on-site, personal installations.

I had been a DISH customer for over 10 years. During those 10 years, they never upgraded their equipment, when I would call to complain all they wanted to do was sell me more expensive plans. When I finally pulled the plug on the service their equip was so old they wouldn't even take it back. Horrible service, dishonest service.
