There are 2 things in my life I will never do again. One is to buy a Kia car of any type and two, order Dish Network. First of all, it is very unreliable when there is a storm or inclement weather. Second, the fact that they constantly eliminate or cancel channels is so frustrating. But the straw that broke the camel's back is this. I was moving and I was able to put the Dish Network tv on pause for 9 months but the internet service I could not put it on pause status. I asked him could I transfer it to my son or someone else since I will be moving into a place that will not allow me to have the service. He said that "You signed the contract and so you are responsible..."

For a service at a location that I will not be living at!? Are you kidding me? So he basic told me that I will have to continue to pay for it whether I move or not... I was very upset. Advice: Never agree to a 2 year plan if you are thinking about moving within that 2 year time and most of all go with anyone than Dish Network.

The DISH receiver at my summer home became obsolete during the winter months and DISH notified me monthly. I contacted them every month and they assured me they would send a technician out to replace it when the summer home was opened. I was told to call 3 days before arrival. I did exactly that. Now they are saying that no technician is needed and UPS will ship the new receiver in 7-10 days. We are just opening the summer home this weekend but will not return for one month. I immediately asked if the receiver could be shipped to another location so it wouldn't sit on the porch for a month. They said it was too late to stop shipping.... within 3-4 minutes during the same phone conversation??? Extremely poor customer service in addition to misinformation! I advise you to look for another option besides DISH.

I am very disappointed with DISH. I started with a 2 year commitment for approximately 25 per mn for 1st yr then 45 per mn for the 2nd. 1 1/2 yr in, 75.00! I am committed for 2 yrs and them for one. I do not remember being told that pricing could go up, like a balloon mortgage. They are dishonest and I would not recommend doing business with them. I will honor my commitment but will not renew with them. I will campaign my experience wherever and whenever I can.

Was a customer of Dish TV for over three years when they cut out channels we watched - we switched to a different provider that carried these channels. Put our notice in with Dish TV to send out our final bill and for boxes to send their equipment back to them. We paid our final bill and sent their equipment back to them. They sent us a bill to ship THEIR equipment back for $36. I called them and asked about this bill. I asked them if we hadn't sent their equipment back and kept it what would we owe? They told me $300. I told them that is why I sent their equipment back so I wouldn't owe them anything.

Less than a month later they turned me over to collection agency bureaus and have now dinged my credit. DISH TV is a big rip off... not once was it ever mentioned that to return THEIR equipment would I be charged after having service with them for over 3 years and always paying my bill on time. I will never use them again... enter with caution is all I can say at this point.

DISH network failed to notify me that they were not going to carry UFC186 and when contacted had no remorse. They failed to realize the preparation I put into having a viewing party. Their wars with pricing on channels such as Fox earlier this year are hurting their customers. I would simply seek other service but that is very difficult in my area. It is sad the lack of customer service from these large corporations these days.

My Mother had Dish Network, she passed away on January 15, 2015. In order to get her affairs in order, I changed the name on the account to my own, expecting a final bill. When I called back to discontinue the service, I was informed that I had to disassemble their equipment and ship it in a box that they would send me. The box never arrived, but a larger bill came. I called again, I paid what I was told would give me a $0 balance and they shipped the empty box. I returned all equipment as per the instructions.

I just opened what I thought would be a final statement, and I have a balance of $61.29. I called, yet again, and after hearing 2 people tell me that I owe that on an account I was attempting to take care of, I lost my temper. They are not listening and I am not paying. They were lucky to get the first money I gave them. Who are these people!?! They are "sorry for the misinformation that I was given" in my previous phone calls, but they cannot help me.

I was very satisfied with Dish Network, until I moved from Belmont, CA. to San Mateo, a distance of some 2 miles. I ordered dish to move my service and re-install their equipment at my new address. When the technician arrived, he informed me that he could not get a signal and that he could not install the equipment. I was paid up in full and returned all their equipment and switched to Comcast. Dish is harassing me about paying for the rest of the term of my contract. I replied: get me a signal and I would be glad to continue with their service. They suggested I should move from my new apartment. Now, I am being continually harassed by collection agencies. I refuse to pay for a service that they cannot provide.

We decided to cancel our contract with Dish last October 2014 as the cost of the package we originally ordered seemed to creep up nearly every month. Also in October we returned the equipment in the box they provided and sent it by UPS Courier Service. By January 2015 it appeared they were still billing us for the same package even though we had cancelled it. It took several frustrating phone calls to eventually get through to them that we cancelled the service in October 2014. They said that we were still using their service to which I replied that it would be impossible because all of their equipment had been returned and we were using different TV provider.

We then started to receive numerous phone calls from Dish stating that the equipment we returned was minus a hopper. We argued with them continuously that we did not have a hopper and that all equipment was returned. They then sent us a bill for $350 for a hopper. At that point I invited them to send a representative to come look in our house for their "hopper". Our numerous emails and phone calls to them disputing the $350 and their hopper is going nowhere. They now have referred our account to a Debt Collection agency who have harassed with phone calls every day calling our landline and cell phones in order to collect their $350.00. We just cannot get it through to them that WE DON'T HAVE THEIR HOPPER. Something must be done about this company, they are ruthless in their attitude.

Signed up for Dish Internet, we were not advised gaming, streaming or pretty much anything was not good. They went through a fast call. Couldn't understand him, he spoke too quick through the terms and conditions. To cut a long story short, the apparent high-speed internet is none existent. You can't stream, you can't browse. It takes over a minute to even load a page. You can't online game or stream anything even when you're still well in your 10 GB of usage allowance. It is absolutely pointless, waste of 70 dollars a month. We have to go to Starbucks to log on to check our banking and email because it is so slow and does not work and we are stuck in a 24 month contract. We have 23 more miserable months to go. It is disgusting. You get no help from customer support. They just try to sell you more data, which we did, to try and solve the issue - $20 a month on top of the 60 we already pay to get an extra 50 GB of usage. Still no change.

It is a complete waste of money, might as well throw $80 a month down the toilet. It's causing me and my wife too much stress. We argue because there is nothing we can do to get out of this miserable contract. We are paying way over the odds for a service we were assured was the best. We have been conned and mis-sold a service they cannot provide. This company needs investigating. I really don't know how they are allowed to still trade. If you're thinking about signing up, please don't - you will be conned too. Just go to Bright House and save the hassle and stress. Hopefully, Dish will get looked into and closed down for promising a service they just cannot supply. I've gave 1 star cause the option of -100 stars isn't an option.

During the CNN and Fox News outage we treated very poorly and never offered any reduction on the bill or premium programming. I am aware that the small print in the contract (that is never brought to the attention of a customer) allows them to do this. We returned the receiver and we're billed for the $60 early termination fee and a $10 restocking charge. I refused to pay the bill until DISH Network removed the metal dish and wiring from my property at their expense. DISH Network turned my account over for collection after two months without ever negotiating this in good faith. What in the DISH contract allows them to leave their property on my property without my approval? There is a disposal fee to get rid of the metal dish and I do not want to be advertising DISH Network with that thing on my roof. I would be happy to work out a monthly rental agreement with DISH for the space on my roof to store their property if they wish.

So I had Dish Network when I lived in Upstate NY. 1st of all anytime it rained or snowed I lost connection. Either my wife or I would have to go out periodically and brush the snow off the dish (not only an inconvenience but could also be dangerous). Any time I had a question their customer service would have no idea what to do so I just bounced around from manager to manager (oh let me get my supervisor) was always the answer. That all sounds awful enough but the worst is yet to come...over a year after I cancelled my service.

So after almost 2 years of dealing with dish (because you cannot cancel a contract) My wife and I decided to move south. So I called paid a little bit of an Early Termination fee (wasn't too bad my contract was about 2 - 3 months away from being done anyway) also turned in all the equipment we had so we wouldn't be charged for that. All sounds good... 14 MONTHS LATTER we get a letter from a collections agency saying we owe $190.00. Not only did we pay all the necessary fees to cancel the contract and return the equipment but some how we still owed them for another fee???

They could have called and said something I would have argued with them and if they had a valid explanation would have I would have paid them. But no they waited 14 Months and they didn't even contact me the collections department did. so now I don't owe a fee I owe a ton of late fees and my credit is being affected, If that's not theft then I don't know what to call it.

A couple months ago I decided to contact Dish Network to see what they had to offer in my area, they did not cover my area so we obviously did not go with them. You would think if I owed them something they would have said something then, (nope let's wait a few more months when we can have a collections agency get them and maybe get a few more late fees from them). DISH NETWORK IS A SCAM... THEY PROVED IT. This is going to everyone I know, that's completely unprofessional and should be illegal (if it's not already).

I am dealing with them right now. I have been a customer of theirs for about 3 years. I have my payments automatically withdrawn from my checking account. They took my March money but keep saying that they didn't receive it. Of course nobody called me; I found out when they shut off my account. I called them and explained that it was withdrawn from my account and they basically called me a liar. The lady kept saying "well it didn't get paid" after telling her at least 20 times (I'm serious) the explanation. So after about an hour they turned it back on.

One week later this happened again. I called and went through the exact same process. It was the worst customer service I have ever received. They asked me to "fax" in my bank statements to prove I was telling the truth. I don't have a fax machine but offered to scan and email. They told me that they could not access email. Seriously!?!? You have the technology to send television shows (in high def no less) all around the world but you do not have technology sophisticated enough to email?? I live out in the country so I have to take time to go into town, and PAY a store to fax it in.

I submitted everything and then SURPRISE!! They shut it off again without calling me (this is the second time I have requested a call back). They kept saying I didn't pay after sending them all the proof. I had just talked my family into switching from DirecTV to Dish, I told them not to do it. DISH has the WORST customer service and I would never recommend them to anyone!! Seriously... don't do it... go with DirecTV.

UPDATED ON 09/08/2015: Several months ago I contacted DISH because they were withdrawing large amounts from my account. They stated over and over again that my card must have been stolen and they couldn't help. After weeks of trying to prove it, it was discovered that the error was on their end. Today, this happened again. I called my bank and they stated that it is only pending and gave me the directions to tell them how to cancel it. All they needed to do is fax a paper over. They stated they "could not" do this. I talked to several people in management to no end. They are aware that my card was applied to the wrong account, yet they still will not do anything about it. I must file a dispute with my bank. This is ridiculous and the second time I have had to do this. DO NOT GET DISH!!! They are not an honest cooperation and they DO NOT have the client's best interest at hand.

DISH has been a frustrating and hassle from the beginning. I live with roommates and the owner of the property transferred to DISH for a lower cost only for us to find it wasn't worth the switch. Due to being stuck in a contract, we can't switch back. For ONE, DISH internal setup is completely outdated. I feel like I am working with a 90's Windows processor. Just purely slow making the simplest task a drag.

For TWO, EVERYDAY it updates itself. Problem with this is that it puts a warning out the screen for a minute asking if you are still viewing the program and if you step away for a moment or multitask, listening to the program vs. watching it fully (which I do all the time), it will assume you are not watching and reboot itself. This is extremely maddening when you have a program that is not recorded and you have paused hours before, leaving you unable to return to its original spot! For THREE, on that same note (For TWO) this dilemma happens as well when a program is prerecorded and instead of giving you the options to cancel the recording, you just lose your spot all together and cannot continue back to the program you were previously watching.

For FOUR, I have reliable internet. I have never had issues with any other of my media devices when it comes to my internet connection. But when it comes to DISH, 70% it cannot connect to the internet and requires all this reset, time consuming, sometimes customer service's assistance nonsense to get it connecting again. Then the next day its another gamble. I find myself throwing out a cuss word every few days when it comes to DISH. The competition is high, DISH and it's obvious not much care is put into making its network reliable, user-friendly and satisfactory. Get it together!

A few months later she got a bill from them for over $400.00 (she paid when they threatened to send it to a collection agency. Since then they have contacted my sister and used the same threats on her, they have also tried to get my contact info. After 8 pm I called as I still did not have service with Dish. After an hour on hold my phone died. I tried to call back but got a recording that it was after hours. I called again the following day and spent an hour on the phone talking to people who were no help. I was told to hire an electrician at my expense to check the phone lines or pay a cancellation fee for a service that was never provided. Why would I go to that expense when my old ISP was adequate. I have been a Dish customer for nearly five years. I have had Time Warner and DirecTV. Dish although not perfect has always made good on their mistakes. Time Warner's and DirecTVs customer service are horrible and both services are way over priced. Direct I believe preeminents programs for infomercials and you should not pay to watch commercials. Both Time Warner and Direct have the most confusing channel lineups ever. Dish on the other hand groups its channels and HD channels right next to the SD channels which makes much more sense. I don't like the fact that if you have the Hopper you need to rent a box for every TV in the house. Hence I have a lower level two-channel box.

I have been with Dish because over the last several years because you get way more choices and channels than the other services for your money. I have noticed though Dish is creeping up on the competition slowly. I use my BlockBuster on Demand and love all the free movies. The pay movies are way over priced at $6.99 for some movies is way too much! But there are almost as many free movies available than what I find on Netflix including many new releases. I am overall Happy with Dish TV but if they brought their prices back down a bit and changed some of the Billing practices I would give them five stars for sure. I have yet to find a better TV service for my money. I highly recommend this service provider.

I ordered DISH TV service to replace my cable service in early March 2015. They came to install the service on March 17, 2015. Aside from fact the installation person didn't want to walk me thru the operation, the install went well. On March 21 (four days after the install) I was watching the TV when the show abruptly went off and a note on the TV said "no signal". It suggested a couple of actions to correct the issue. Unplug the receiver and wait 10 seconds and then plug it in again. After waiting ten minutes for the signal to begin, the "no signal" message reappeared. The message also provided a 800 service number to call if the other suggestions didn't work.

Since I had no TV, I wanted to get back my signal and continue watching the news. It took a few minutes to be connected to DISH customer service. I was told that the weather could cause this. It was lightly snowing. She told me weather can interrupt the service. I told her that I was located in Connecticut and that wouldn't work. I told her we had fourteen large snow storms this winter and I didn't want the TV to go out every time it snowed. She said if I wanted to get a ladder and go up on my roof, I could see if snow was responsible.

Frankly I am 68 and that certainly wasn't an option. I asked her to send a repairman to make this decision and make adjustments if necessary. She said she couldn't do this for three days (Monday March 23). I said I wanted to watch my TV today and throughout the weekend. She said that was the best she could offer. I asked how much weather can effect the reception. She said heavy wind, rain, snow and dense clouds can negatively interrupt the signal. I said that would not be acceptable, because I watch my TV everyday of the year and I didn't want any days of service lost to weather. I told her I had cable before for twenty years and never lost service but for one or two days in all those years.

After spending an hour plus on the phone that morning trying to get the service restored, I gave up and went out. When I returned, the snow had stopped and there was TV signal and service again! Frankly I was upset but thought maybe this was a one only event and went about my weekend activities. The TV worked all week long but without any calls from DISH to see if everything was all right or could they send someone to my home? However on March 28 (a second period of no service 11 days after the install) I awoke at 6:45 am. Turned on the TV to get the weather and news. Instead the message on a blank screen was, "no signal available" along with the same suggestions as last Saturday. I tried them but with no success. There was no snow this time.

I tried numerous 800 calls to DISH service and all of them came to a recorded message that never reached a real person, or a recording opportunity, that offered to return my call with help or service. The message said "there is no one to help and customer service would be available until Monday March 30th" and then it hung up!!! That's right I couldn't get a human being to talk to me and the phone was set to give you that message and hang up!! This went on for two hours no matter what 800 numbers I dialed including the number listed on the back of DISH operation manual. I finally was able to get to a live DISH person on the phone and she said she wasn't in service, but gave me a 800 number she said would get me to the right service people. It resulted in the same message about no service and hung up on me exactly like the other calls.

Finally I called Frontier who had booked their internet install and the DISH install. The lady there understood my plight and connected me with DISH service.

Wow after two wasted hours, I was finally on the phone with a DISH service person. After a half hours on the phone he got my signal back. At that moment I knew I couldn't be treated poorly anymore by DISH and settle for such an unreliable service. I know there are very few people who would settle for two outages in eleven days. Also knowing that weather could continue these outages and more TV losses when ever a storms occur?? So on Monday March 30 I called and got a cable service to be installed on April 1, 2015.

After the new cable install, I called DISH and told them I wanted to cancel my service and return their equipment. ** (a DISH cancellation specialist), the first person I spoke with said she would do the cancellation, but I would have to pay a $480 cancellation fee. I said I wouldn't pay for the cancellation. I said it was their poor service in the first place that forced me to cancel. Not that I hadn't given them a chance to provide the service, but I had and they had failed to deliver their service. She had empathy but after speaking to her supervisor, she was told she couldn't offer and removal or partial removal of the cancellation charges. I asked to speak to that supervisor.

She connected me with ** and he said he was on the team of "The Office of the President". We covered these same facts and he said, there would be no reduction in the cancellation charges. I asked if he didn't understand that it was because of their service failures, I was cancelling the service? It didn't matter they were going to charge me $480 cancellation fee. I asked to speak to speak to his boss. He put me on the phone with ** who said his job title was "Supervisor to The Office of The President". I had figured if he had this position, he was very experienced and he would understand the rights of customers, public relations and recognize DISH's service lapses. That was a mistake, he had no interested in solving the issues and only wanted to get the cancellation fees.

I tried to get him to realize DISH's service failures and maybe even find a middle ground about the cancellation fees. He said "he didn't have the power to do that". I asked how could he be the Supervisor to the office of the President? He had no answer to that. I asked for the Presidents name and mail address. He didn't want to give me what I knew was public info. After one and a half hours on the phone, It was apparent I had been wasting my time talking to the powerless representatives from the worst customer oriented company I had encountered in my 68 years on this earth!!!

If this is the way DISH runs it's business model, I believe the FCC, BBB and any customer protection organization needs to explore the business consumer actions of this company. Somehow, no matter how hard I try, it is hard to believe a company with nearly 14 million customers is run by someone who doesn't have a sense of fair play and a true concern for its reputation. Most importantly, their customers???

When they aren't doing that, they're keeping you on hold until they hang up on you. The internet is the worst part. Not only is it painstakingly slow, but it sometimes doesn't even work at all. Most of the time, it'll take me 10 minutes (not even exaggerating, sometimes it takes longer than that) to load a single page.

The download speed for me is usually around... 1KBps at the beginning of the month? They said it would be limited high-speed per month, but they never said it would be like this. Want to check your email? Sure, but you might as well do everything else you were going to do that day first while it loads. Chat on Skype? Yeah, if you like dropping the connection on calls every 5 minutes. Youtube videos? Some of them MIGHT load at 144p, and even then, it can take hours to load a 5 minute video, if it even loads at all. Online games? You can completely throw that out the window. Kinda makes things extremely difficult when you have to use the internet for jobs. All the while, my neighbors, who have AT&T, can stream videos and do whatever else from multiple devices and still have nearly instant speed. All in all, it does NOT make sense to 'stick with dish'.

Dish claims to beat Cable but when you add all their fees, they come out much more expensive. The fact that I must pay them $8.00 per month to insure their equipment is extortion. If their equipment is faulty, why should that be my problem? The constant rebooting and calls to straighten things out is ridiculous. $ 25.00 for the advanced receiver per month. Their channel lineup is all over the place. You have to weed through 500 channels of garbage, infomercials and pay per view movies. Another $6.00 per month for regional sports. Another $5.00 for HD Extra. If you bundle with Verizon, each company plays off the other and Verizon DSL sucks. So I went from a $150.00 a month triple play Cable bill to $200 per month with Dish and Verizon with crappy internet and crappy TV service. Now I have to bite the bullet and eat an early termination fee. There should be a class action lawsuit about their false advertisements and disclosures. These ** need to be put out of business.

When one year was passing, I saw that $163 was withdrawn from my bank as a monthly fee. They restarted service with no warning. I called them to cancel the service. As expected, I was asked to keep the account at least three times with different special offers. It took more than half an hour to convince the operator that I am not going to renew the service.

She then transferred the phone to a different department. As expected, I had to wait for an operator for nearly 1.5 hours. I began to talk to the operator. The same thing happened again. She keeps giving me special offers no matter how many times I say I do not continue the service. It took another one hour. Lastly she gave up and told me that they would withdraw up to several hundred dollars if I do not return the receiver as expected. A few weeks after I cancelled the service and returned the receiver, some dollars were still withdrawn from my bank account without any warning. I called the customer service, and they said that I had to pay for some problem in the receiver. There was nothing wrong with the receiver.

I strongly suggest that you will not have a contract with DISH. The same thing will happen to you. The company provides all instructions since all the operators behave in the same way. I am done with DISH after sending this email.

What I didn't know until after the fact was that DISH withdrew 68.00 from my account without my permission. When I called them to get it back, they told me normally it would take 7-10 days but they would have that money back in my account that night. It never showed. Lies. I never gave permission for them to take money nor did they tell me they were gonna do that. I would've never consented to that because I had just paid my mortgage. We signed up for Dish Network at a mall. The salesman was very nice. Told us that for only $25 because the first month was free - we could get TV Services 290 channels, premium channels free for 3 months, the hopper, and Internet for only 46 dollars a month, 95 after the first year.

After asking several times and repeatedly being reassured that the only thing we would have to do for all of those services is pay 25 dollars, we wouldn't have any extra charges, would not have to pay any other fees to be set up with all of that. We signed a paper so he could just see if we were eligible. It was late at night so the next morning he called and said that we were. We told him yes we want to do this. When we brought the money to him, again we asked several times if we give you $25 we will be set up with the hopper. That was our main concern because that was the only reason we wanted to transfer from Comcast to dish again. He reassured us, "Yes all you have to do is pay the $25." So we handed him $25 and the next day he set it up.

When our cable guy game came we were very excited and after he left kept trying to figure out how to access the hopper. After so long we realize they must have given us the wrong device. We called our cable guy and then dish only to find out we had only been signed up for 290 channel. We were not signed up for the hopper. We were not signed up for Internet and we were told that dish on demand would be the same at Comcast Xfinity on demand. That was a lie and now we have been trying for a week to terminate our contract because they refuse to give us what we were promised when we signed up for dish. The guy wrote it down and showed us what we would be getting. How much each Month would come up to how we would only have to pay this much to get started.

We explained to many workers that we did not want to continue with dish because we were told we had to pay an extra 350 for the hopper and more for the Internet. I told them that is not right. When we signed up for Comcast we were promised much more than we received and also we were not there when the salesman, this guy officially put those papers in. He just asked us to put our signature, name, email address, and social security number and since it was too late that night he would turn it in the next day. If I am going to be involved in a 2 year contract then I want It to be what we were told it was going to be. Not any extra hidden fees which we ask about because my mother warned me earlier that day before we agreed to do it to talk to them first and make sure that was all we have to do with pay 25 dollars.

I do not see how we can be forced into a contract that is completely different of what we were promised and why they would not listen when I spoke to the supervisor from DISH Network trying to get the contract terminated. He was very rude and said no matter what I did, I will not get my contract terminated and no matter who I call, it will always be re-routed back to him. So there is nothing I can do about it and I need to pay either the early termination fee or keep with them for 2 years. There is nothing I can do about it. He will always be the person that I have to talk to. I am trying to find somebody that can help me or even a different dish representative that I can speak with.

I asked where I can drop off my DVR and they said I'd have to pay $10 for an RMA and box to send it back. I never agreed to this and told them so. They relented and said they would send the box and RMA for free. Well 2 weeks and several emails have not gotten me any box or shipping label. I've asked for a label to be sent and every time also asked for my refund.

Today, they said they charged me $10 off of my final refund and would be sending me the boxes. Then they said that they would not refund my money without receiving and verifying the equipment returned. I have told them I won't return the box until they refund my money owed. They ended up waiving it after some frustration on my end. So 7 techs later and services in bedroom and main room not working off and on for entire service records, they still want to charge us cancel fee. So it's been a month since we cancelled service. So a few days ago I check my bank account and Dish, without my express consent and never talking to anyone from their company, charges my card almost 500 again without my knowledge or consent and I don't know about anyone else but 500 is a lot of money and I have rent and other bills I cannot pay now.

I explained in detail the arrangement that this was short term and I did not want a long term contract. The DISH network employee said that would be fine and a contractor, not a DISH installer arrived and set up a mobile dish. He asked me to sign for the installation, which was in fact a contract. I put the service on pause at the end of the contract. When I was considering re-engaging the service, I found out that they did not have Fox so called to say I was cancelling, they sent boxes, sent it back and received a bill for $432.

Mr. ** from DISH then said that if I reinstated my service, they could drop the early cancellation fee, so I said “OK what would be my bill to have exactly the same service as before” and I was told “the first bill would be 517.00” as they would charge 350.00 to REINSTATE my service!! My disgust is based on this; either you can charge for early cancellation, but if you don't cancel...you can't charge to reinstate. Mr. ** magnanimously offered me a 100.00 discount to reconnect me.

So in 09/14 we contacted dish and advised them we wanted to downgrade to the cheapest pkg approx 19.00/Mo so we would not cancel our agreement and were assured nothing would change on the contract-- we could pay through 06/15 to finish the commitment.

I have been a DISH customer for over 7 years and I added internet and picked the best package they had for high speed internet. And when I added it, my wife has an Apple TV and pays for monthly apps to watch movies and she started letting me know she was having problems with it not playing the movies she would pick after watching about 2 movies. So I call one day to see if there was something wrong and when I did I found out that we only have 15 gigabytes a month and once they were used up, DISH turns something called a 'bandwidth down'. So basically I'm saying they are a huge joke, they are the biggest crooks anyone could have for an internet package.

They use the fact that people that live in the country want internet; they know that it can only happen with satellite internet because that's the only option we have if you want internet. But they don't bother to tell you that you will pay about $120 a month for internet that you can only watch 1 or 2 movies a month on. And 3/4 of people that get internet nowadays is to be able to stream movies and stuff but can't when you have a bandwidth on your package through DISH Network.

I think it's bad enough that these crooks at DISH Network make you pay $120 a month and then have you limited on how long you want to be on the internet. And all I'm saying is that before you ever get a internet package through them, I would highly recommend that you check very good to make sure you can have another company that has internet service in your area.

They once again asked me to wait another 10-15 days or they could e-mail me a copy in 48-72 hrs.

I ask to speak to a supervisor and got the run around. I finally spoke to someone named ** who states he would personally check for the contract and to give him till March 12 and if he did not come up with a copy of the contract, the account would be voided and he would cancel the services without the $240 charge. I called back on 3/15/15. Could not talk to ** but talk to some one name ** who again stated they have not received a copy of the contract and again I told her it's because they don't have one. She stated she has to follow up before she can just say I don't have to pay the $240.

It has been almost 2 months of this. I am being given the run around. Every time I call it is the same request wait 15 days, they refuse to tell me where to return their equipment. Is there anything else I can do to get this over with. I will never get Dish again.

I was in hospital with my sick husband that passed away and my daughter was at house, saw him tear up my property. No one sign the contract which was suppose to be in my name but on the contract, which Dish said was my signature was "CNS" initials which mean "customer no signature". I was so mad they requested a death certificate from my husband told them to cancel service. Tore up yard, no contract sign, refuse to give address to return one receiver and charged 580.00 to visa. So long story short, my bill with DirecTV was a bit high so I explored other options. I switched to Dish and it turns out to be a costly mistake to the tune of $480.00 for the cancellation fee. Of course DirecTV wants my business back so they offer me a bunch of incentives and I switch back only 2 weeks after going over to Dish. If you decide to switch to Dish expect the hopper to not connect to your internet connection. Expect the most complex remote control will ever need. Expect the DVR to be the most non user friendly piece of equipment you have ever used. Expect only to be able to watch and record 3 shows at a time. Their marketing ploy about being able to watch TV and record up to 6 shows is a bunch of BS. You can record their 4 primetime channels at the same time on a single tuner or you can record a single show. So if you watch their preselected primetime TV channels then it's great but otherwise it stinks.

By the way if you have more than 3 televisions you cant watch different channels on all of them. It only allows you to watch 3 shows throughout your house. Biggest mistake of my life, more than happy to pay $480.00 rather than continue with this NIGHTMARE. Think twice before signing their 2-year agreement because when you try to cancel they will put you on the line with a person that lives in India and speaks barely enough English to get by and she will torture you with how it's a lot of money to cancel. I would hate to see this company take any more money from unsuspecting victims.

We started service with Dish Network Sept 2014. A Salesperson came to our door with a really good offer for subscribing, one of the perks that got our attention was No Contract. It was a 3 Month deal with all the premium channels 9 hbo's, 6 Cinemax, 9 showtime and 8 starz and Blockbuster at Home. All these channels to view for 3 months at a low monthly price.

Our agreement for those channels expired December 2014 and we decided to keep Dish anyway Minus those packages. In January 2015, we discovered Dish Network had removed all Fox channels off their lineup. So I promptly called Dish Network to let them know we would go back to our old service which is Cox cable. At that time I was told that I had signed a contract and by discontinuing my service I would have to pay a fee for breaking my contract.

There was no contract presented to be signed during sign up. It was stated several times that this was month by month monthly payment by electronic pay. After canceling our subscription Dish Network took Money out of our account 394.92 even after writing them via email and instructing them to bill us directly via US mail and also to produce a copy of a contract signed by a member of the household. We have filled a stop payment with Our Bank because of automatically taking money from our account.

I wrote many emails to Dish asking where this contract was that we signed. Today I got it in my email. The signature is easily identifiable as a forgery also with misspelling my name. Dish may be fraudulently taking advantage of many others with this forging of contracts and illegally withdrawing money from their bank accounts. Also: We can produce proof of their contract signature is not my real signature.

When we called they said we could upgrade to get these channel for a fee (not such a good deal after all). We asked if they had a 30 day satisfaction and they said no. Now it will cost them almost 500.00 to break contract or they will have to put up with their inferior service. They are going to pay the fee so they can again enjoy their tv again with directv. I have almost have every word memorized, of all the programs Dish has shown. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating! Let's go every other word. It seems like maybe they might show something different maybe every 1-2-3-4 days in a row, but they don't let me down. No- they show the same one over and over and over. I just love it! I guess it's time to switch service.

And another thing I just love is the interrupted service almost every time I am watching something I haven't seen before! It's wonderful, because when they show the program again the next day, and for 30-40 days after that, I can get the words memorized, that I missed when the transmission was interrupted! I love that too!! Of course the surprises that they have every 5-6 months is kinda neat too, like raising the rates on me for less service! Another thing I love about Dish!

They asked me 7 times if the green light was on the box - I kept saying NO. I've unplugged, reset, checked circuits. I am not technically proficient, nor can I climb on the floor behind the media center.

I love the commercial that says you only pay for what you use. I pay $120 a month and 80% of the time, never see a program to the end. If I'm on the phone with someone and they send me a picture, it could take up to 4 or 5 minutes for it to come in...and it is not a large file. Ever since I had this service (when I moved here, it is the ONLY service available), I've had issues. 2/26/2015 was directed to 866-218-2297 to disconnect my DISH TV Service and reached "Rose" ID # ** in the "Loyalty Dept. " I explained I called to disconnect my DISH service as we have a 2 family house and my kids have Comcast phone and internet already and will be going with TV service from them and providing it to me for free. Rose offered me a discount which I declined. Free for me is still cheaper than the offered discount though she couldn't understand this and kept repeating herself. I asked politely for her to just process my cancellation request and she started telling me that I should get them to go with the DISH package, etc.

I explained I was not the decision maker here and she kept repeating the discount and that I needed to talk to them over and over and over again no matter what I said. I ended up asking for her Supervisor as she was not completing my request. She put me on a long hold twice and never brought a Supervisor on the phone. She then told me she had cancelled my service, but had done it for same day rather than the date I had requested (next Thursday) so I had to spend more time with her unfortunately while she fixed it. She said they do not provide an order number or email confirmation which makes no sense. I appreciate the fact she has to try to retain my account but you also have to listen - very frustrating experience and I will never go back to DISH in the future.

I was shopping for a change in cable service. I decided on Dish Network because they promised service for TV only @ around $55 month for 24 months. This was to include HBO for 2 yrs. They came out to install. Prior to allowing the installation I had tech call in to customer service and we reviewed the services to be installed along with the plans etc. I then allowed the install. Upon leaving I was asked to sign for the installation on his cell phone. This was also the 24 month contract that excluded HBO and included a price increase of double in 12 months. I called in for clarity and was told that they would have to listen to a tape of my conversation to cancel. I will report this to local authorities because this is illegal in many ways.

We had DISH for over a year and had constant problems with the reception. Many channels that were supposed to be HD would immediately switch to SD, some channels would not come in at all, and some would pixelate making viewing very annoying. Very frustrating recording something only to find out it is unwatchable. I called and talked to customer service, computer-chatted and emailed. After hearing the same story about clouds and obstructions (that didn't exist) and having a tech come to the house twice, I finally just canceled them, which was not cheap. Canceling them finally got their attention and they offered technical help and discounted service. Too late. Avoid DISH.

If you are thinking of getting Dish services do not bother. I will tell you my story. I had Dish and the signal kept going out for every little reason and NO reason at all. It go so frustrating I decided to go with my cable company instead. The cable company was buying me out of my Dish contract. Dish was told to send a final bill to my physical address. What is so hard to understand about this? I needed a physical final bill so that the cable co. could send me out a check to pay my dish. Dish refused to do this.

Instead they illegally touched by bank account which I never gave them any permission to. They have caused so many problems at this point it is NOT even funny. They are still refusing to send me a final bill. What they did do was put us in the hole with NSF fees now because they refused to do something as simple as sending a final bill? The truth is they have refused to do this to cause me problems knowing full well the cable co. needs the final bill to pay off the contract. IN whole DISH is scum!!! DO NOT use them. They do not give a heck about customer service. They will screw you any way they can.

I have contacted you customer service department several time trying to resolve the issue referred to below. It is still unresolved and that is why I am sending this letter. I called again this morning, (2/26/2015) regarding the problem of not receiving a bill for my dish service in the mail. This has been requested several times and the request has been ignored. This morning the customer service representative referred me to dish's legal department, when I asked to speak to a customer service representative. Does this mean that in order to get you to send me a bill in the mail I need legal service? It seems to me that that is what you want me to do. If I had the availability of another TV provider, the answer would be to change my service to someone else but at present, that is not an option.

I am very disappointed with you company. I would hope you could help me resolve the issue, without having to seek legal representation that seems extreme. What I am requesting is that each month before payment is due and charged to my credit card, that dish sends me a copy of the bill for that payment in the mail. If that is too much to request of you company, then maybe I need to forget about watching TV or move to some place where I can get another provider. I hope you can aid me in resolving this issue.

On 2/24/2015 I received a card from Dish notifying me that they were retiring some of their older receivers. This information prompted me to take a look at my billing and realized that they had been charging us for 3 receivers since 2010. I called Dish and spoke to a very pleasant woman. I explained that we did not have three receivers that we had only one Dual HDTV DVR receiver that was installed May or June of 2010. We had just moved to a new home and had called for installation of the two old receivers (Approximately 10 years old) that we rented from Dish but while he was here he said that they had a new DVR receiver that you could hook two TV's to and watch different channels at the same time. We agreed to the exchange and asked what to do with the two old receivers. He said he would take them with him and turn them in for us which he did.

I explained all of the above to the Dish representative and was told that they would remove the two old receivers from the bill but we had to pay the value for the newer of the old original two before they would remove it. I explained once again that I only had one receiver that was installed in 2010 and that the tech had taken the other two with him. She said she had no record of them being returned. I told her that I shouldn't be penalized because the tech didn't follow through or that someone may have missed recording the receipt of the two receivers.

She agreed and put me on hold to talk to a supervisor. When she returned I was told that they would remove the two receivers from the record but I still had to pay for the more valuable of the two. I then asked to talk to the supervisor and was told that was a good idea but the supervisor was busy and would call me back in 48 to 72 hours. I doubt I will ever hear from them. We have been paying $14/month for 4 years for 2 receivers that were taken by the tech. That totals a cash outlay of $672 in rent on receivers not in use and not in our possession and they still want us to pay for non return of 1 of the receivers before they will also remove it from the billing. I was on the phone for approximately and hour and no resolution and a 48 to 72 hour wait time to talk to a supervisor. That is unacceptable.

They did NOT change out my hard drive the first time; just told me I was the one who messed up because I didn't call them BEFORE I followed the directions that DISH had plastered on my tv screen. This time, our tv froze every few minutes all weekend long, even on recordings. Hubby called and was told it would be checked out remotely on Monday. They kept restarting it remotely and then I got a message saying "hard drive error" so I called immediately to save my recordings. Was told they could be backed up on hard drive and they would not erase them till I could get it done.

This afternoon they were gone. Everyone I talked to told me that the last person had misled me. Finally I asked to have my contract cancelled. They offered me a tiny bit off my monthly bill. I kept asking to be transferred to a supv. Finally got him and he was rude and nasty and obviously wasn't listening bc he kept saying, "What? I'm sorry" while he CHEWED IN MY EAR. He offered me even less than the CSR did and I told him I wanted out of my contract. He snorted, "That is a contract; you can't get out of it!" I had finally had enough and I asked if there was someone above him or if I would have to go to Small Claims Court to get out of it.

He got LOUD and started threatening me with THEIR legal dept, etc. and asked if I wanted to be transferred. Since I won't be yelled at or bullied, I told him I would have my attorney contact their legal department. I would rather pay an attorney $1000 than let these jerks screw me over. In closing, all I can say is I have been with several cable and satellite companies and this is the WORST. If they were the last company on earth, I would do without tv altogether!

For the last couple of months I have a rough time dealing with Dish. I recently requested a copy of my contract (DHAPA). I completely read the document a number of times and came to realization that I never seen the last two pages. However, my name is signed in three different places. What I found fascinating is the fact that the signatures are exactly alike. There are no deviations in size of the lettering and the word spacing is exactly the same. It looks as though they cut and paste my signature from the first page and added to the last page. In fact there's no doubt in my mind that's what they did. I filed a complaint with the BBB explaining a number of concerns. Dish never acknowledged my complaint about DHAPA signatures. Check your DHAPA signatures. I doubt it's customary to cut and paste signatures throughout a contract.

Finally after 45 min he gives us a supervisor who gives us the code and then says his voting to take 20 dollars of our bill. Well we pay bill minus the 20 dollars then two weeks later they shut us off. So we call and they say it's because we didn't pay the 20 dollars.

So today we go to pay are bill and they increased it 5 dollars saying that we didn't pay the 20 so again ask to speak to supervisor. They say it's an increase in programming. I tell him, "ok transfer me to bill pay system so I can pay my bill now." My bill 115 so this time I wait on phone line for 30 more min so I can talk to their legal department. Well after letting the guy know that now I'm recording my phone call he offers to fix my bill and take 25 dollars off so and 5 dollars a month off when I tell him my contract is done next month and I want to cancel my service. When I refused to say I'll stay with Dish he hangs up on me. Needless to say I didn't get the 25 dollars off my bill and after reading all these complainants I know to keep all my documentation when I send in their equipment and to put my disconnect into writing. After being bounced around from several customer service reps that asked me the same questions but none of them was able to disconnect my service I was finally sent to their "Specialist Department" or what is really a "Customer Retention Department" and had the lovely experience of speaking with "Alex"!! (He’s a real jewel) He began to start asking me the same questions that I had previously answered to the past customer service reps that I spoke with, I advised him I had already answered all those questions and just want my service cancelled!!

He became very condescending so I asked for his supervisor, he put me on hold and never picked back up the phone, while I was on hold I got on the chat line on their website (I had plenty of time) and of course they were unable to disconnect my service and advised me to call them, I advised them I was on hold with Alex in their Specialist department for the past 25 minutes, why do you tell him to just take me off hold!! So of course this was just another waste of time so I hung up and called back and was asked to be connected with Alex's manager and was hung up on, I called back again and asked for his manager and was reconnected with my good friend Alex!!! (At this this point I have lost all patience and respect for DISH and their business practices.)

I advise Alex to disconnect my service once again and he kept trying to tell me he was "helping me" I advised him that the only thing he could do to help would be to cancel my service and send out the boxes so as that I could return their equipment, he then advised me there was going to be a fee to send their equipment back, I asked where I could drop off their equipment to avoid the cost of shipping back to them, keep in mind I live in the Houston area, he told me the only place I could return was in El Paso, TX!!! Really I ask!! I then advise if dish wants their equipment to send someone out to get it or send the boxes but I was not going to pay for either. He told me they will still bill me for the leased equipment, I advised him that's fine, I'm not going to pay it!!! Then he proceeded to tell me that it would affect my credit and so on...

So I am here to advise everyone out there to STAY AWAY FROM DISH and if I ever go back to pay TV it will be with anyone but DISH. I also will tell this to whoever will listen. I want to make sure everyone out there knows how horrible DISH treats their customers. Sincerely, A Dissatisfied EX Loyal Customer.

Then due to contract disagreements between DISH and Turner, I was not able to watch my two favorite channels TCM and CNN for weeks on end. This was the last straw and I called DISH to terminate service. Most of the other channels are so laden with commercials, that I will wait for the programs to be hosted by Netflix Streaming before being subject to endless commercial drivel.

Coincidentally, my contract was ending in October of 2014 so I chose to end my relation with DISH at that time. The phone rep gave me a final charge, including pro-rata termination fee, and return receiver fee. I returned the DISH receiver in perfect condition at my own expense, logged into my account and paid the balance, and we were DONE.

Now here we are FOUR MONTHS LATER, and DISH is calling and emailing me daily stating I still owe them charges. I will be contacting the BBB, SEC, FTC, and any other agency who will help defend me against DISH, their hassle the customer policy, and their corrupt accounting.

My daughter, a college student, opened an account with Dish in June 2014. In January of this year she contacted Dish to inquire about canceling her account as she was moving to a new residence that does not allow Dish. When she spoke with them she was told she would receive a final bill including the service fee for breaking her contract.

On January 21, 2015, she received a bill from Dish for the amount of $361.53. On the page where it itemizes what each cost is, it clearly stated: "Important Messages: This is your final bill." Since it stated that it was her final bill, she sent them a check for $361.53 which was cashed on January 26, 2015. On January 29, 2015, she received another bill from Dish for the amount of $350.84. This bill had a due date of January 27, 2015 (2 days prior to the day she received it). This bill also included the message "This is your final bill".

She called Dish again and was told there was nothing they could do for her. She was also told she had 45 days from January 10th (which is when she cancelled the services) to pay the $350.84 before being sent to collections. It turns out, when she cancelled her services, her contract was split into a television account and an internet account. They never, on any occasion informed her that her account was going to be split into two different contracts or advise she would be responsible for two cancellation fees.

I decided to call Dish on February 19th to see what could be done to rectify this issue because I think she is being mistreated. She deserves a refund of some of the fees since 1- they never disclosed that they were splitting the services and she would be responsible for two separate service fees and 2 - she could not transfer the satellite to her new residence. During my two hour phone conversation I spoke with 3 different people - all rude and condescending. One named Jed and one named Corey **. Corey should be fired as he lied and said he worked for the office of the president when he is simply an agent in their call center.

He insinuated that my daughter was lying and said he could credit her account but pushing a button but would not do so. He went on to say that nothing could be done since she already paid both bills which constitutes acceptance of the contracts. I told him she only paid the second bill because she was told she would be sent to collections by a very rude customer service rep during one of her many calls to the company. She has paid them over $700.00 which is outrageous. Is that their policy, to gouge college students?

After speaking to Corey for over an hour he said he was going to terminate the call because there was nobody else I could talk too and nothing he could do. Then he asked where to send the $85.59 credit on her account from the return of the receiver. When I asked why he didn't tell me about the credit at the beginning of the call he sarcastically answered that it was because I didn't ask. I am going to ensure all family members, friends and colleagues know how this company operates and their unethical business practices.

Sept 2014 I called Dish for service. I just had moved to Florida from NJ and wanted Jets Giants NFL games. The sales rep said I can get all the games if I purchase their NFL REDZONE. I did. It gave only a live look into games when teams were in redzone the twenty yard line. I had installation on a Saturday. That Monday after Sunday football I tried to cancel dish in favor of DirecTV's NFL Ticket. Being a long time CABLEVISION customer I didn't know who had what when I first came to Florida. Anyway its mid February and this issue has NOT been resolved yet. Dish gave me the run around transferring me from rep to rep trying to discount my service and add things. I want to cancel without the 480.00 early cancellation fee being I was misinformed at original sales call. I cancelled my bank card and Dish stopped service two months ago. Been doing Redbox for two months now fun right!

Anyway now Dish charged me for the two months, they shut off service and I had no TV. Finally connected to PRESIDENT'S OFFICE. Big deal right! NOT! And they wanted to listen to sales call tape this is back on Nov 17, 2014. I called the REP back about five times over last couple months but she refuses to return my call. (EVON) her name is. Now I am dealing with Robert who seems to be professional and promises to get this done for me on a voice mail. However the phone # he left for me twice is a number for a Travel agency? What! Really?

So I call Dish's main # and they say they don't have capabilities to transfer me to President's Office. Every time I try a different Dish #, the automated system recognizes my phone number and tells me the account is SUSPENDED! DUH! However there is nowhere to put in an extension # that I have for Robert in President's office. That's where I am now. After the first year prices change a bit but going from $78 to $125 is ridiculous. The bill would change constantly. I had to call once a month to try to get a straight answer about billing so I switched companies. Now they are charging me $10 a box to ship the equipment back. Also wanted $145 to have the dish removed. I opted to take it down and trash it myself for free. So very frustrated.

DISH is the worst service I have ever had. They start you off at a low price then jack the price up through the term of your contract. So now I pay $90 for basic channels and lame service. Then you can't record and watch like Verizon (I regret leaving). I am always having to cancel something. The best part is if you don't keep track of your bill one month you'll be ok then the next you'll get a random bill saying you owe over $100 because the promotion is over which they never explained to me from the very beginning. I was lead to believe once the contract is over then the price goes up. Long story short, any service but this is the safe bet.

My computer and Ipad kept dropping off the internet. I tried 5 modems/routers, sent the computer back to the manufacturer who found nothing wrong with the system but replaced the wireless card, etc. Anyway, called Dish several times and CenturyLink a couple of times about the problem over a period of 2 months. A technician from Dish came to the house and could not get it to work. On one call, Dish customer service said they would cancel the internet service without a cancellation fee, but first we agreed to try something else which did not work.

When I called back to cancel, they said a $240 cancellation fee would be charged. I asked to speak to a supervisor in the escalation department and finally to the office above them. Their constant harangue was I was breaking the contract to which I replied that they were breaking the contract by not providing the service I was paying for. Why would I continue to pay for what I was not getting? If they cannot afford to lose one customer for whom they cannot provide service, Dish must be on the ropes financially - another reason to consider not using their service. Somehow that simple idea that most 5 years old kids would understand was completely beyond their grasp. Buyer beware. Go with Dish and plan for broken commitments on their part while demanding your continuance to pay for things promised but not received.

As a previous customer of Verizon, I was saddened when I found out we were obligated to getting DISH when we moved into our apartments. Live TV and recordings are always interrupted by static and we always lose the sound while viewing our shows. Also, I've wanted to rent some movies on demand and for the 2 years I've had DISH, I have never been able to even through all the times I've tried. I can't browse the movies because it freezes and then takes me back to the original screen, or the button always hops back to the beginning of the list when I start to browse.

It is extremely frustrating and it still hasn't been fixed. Anyways, recently, our receiver has been having a lot of glitches, it has been saying that our recordings and timers have been deleted and we've been having to unplug and plug back in our receiver. Then, the receiver just couldn't recover all of our recordings even after the unplugging/plugging in hassle.

So we called customer service and they wanted to charge us for a new receiver even though we didn't do anything to it (our receiver is in an entertainment center and does not receive any misuse). The guy had said the receivers are supposed to last 6 years, clearly not if ours pooped out after only 2 years - so we couldn't understand why we were being charged if we did not damage it. Once we move, I refuse to get DISH again!! Too many problems that remained unfixed.

On Sept 9th 2014 I had Dish network installed at my house. Our house changed hands so I had to move out and had Dish disconnected 10-29-2014. I knew there was going to be a fee because you leave the contract early so I asked the rep on the phone that if you send me a physical bill to my new address I could pay it down and that would help me because I had to move in a hurry. The rep said he would mail out a bill on Dec 1st. I sent the equipment in their boxes, got confirmation that the equipment was rec somewhere in Texas.

I checked my bank acct at the end of Dec and found out that Dish had taken out 995.00 without my auth. I called them and they said I signed up for autopay which I didn't. In the very beginning they spelled my name wrong. For a promotion they sent me a MasterCard with 25.00 on it with my name spelled wrong. They only started spelling my name correctly because I filed a complaint with the BBB. By the way don't expect help from them. You would do better talking to a wall. At least a wall has character.

I asked Dish to send me documents that I signed up for autopay. That's what's so shady about them you have to ask for the documents because you sign a tablet and they incorporate (forge) your signature into all of these boxes to say you signed your life away to them. When I got the documents they are all signed the same way and that's not my signature. I never had a acct online, I never signed up for autopay and they forged my signature. Dish stands for Deceptive, Inferior,

Sleazy, and Hypocritical. If their's a class action suit count me in. In 2009 Dish had to pay out 6 million dollars in 46 states for these same kind of unethical business dealings.

DISH Tv has been the biggest headache and mistake in my lifetime. Their sales rep was great and gave me next day installation which was on a Sunday. I was told expect installers between noon and 5:00 pm. At 9:00 pm 2 men arrive in the dark and said MY installers were tied up on another job and since they were close by they decided to come and get started. I questioned their ability to install in the dark. They used my old dish on the garage and made a mess of wiring outside where the old cable had been. They did not appear to be professional. I had problems from day one.

It was then I was informed a technician would come for $115.00. I had removed the $7.00 a month charge for maintenance that had been added to my bill. I paid for a DVR box and found it made you watch the program you were wanting to record only. When I called to complain I was told I would need to upgrade to the hopper. I returned the DVR, what was the point. I cancelled movie channels trying to lower my monthly bill that increased from $65.00 to $130.00 when movie channels went off promo.

The minute I did that, I lost the availability to watch movies online through dishanywhere. I was told since I removed the DVR I lost this access. I reached a point where I decided to cancel DISH and go back to cable for the ease and convenience. I was on the phone for over one hour trying to cancel my account. At first I was offered a $40.00 per month credit for 10 months with free movie channels. Next I was offered $25.00 off per month for 16 months but no free movies. My final offer to stay was $30.21 per month plus tax, free movies for a year. I thought about that offer but was informed I still wouldn't have online access for dishanywhere because I needed the dvr box. I said "typical DISH, just cancel my account."

Now I'm told I owe $160.00 in early termination fee also. PEOPLE BE WARNED, IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS. If you want to be held hostage by your tv viewing company, get DISH. They remove channels without telling you also. I lost CNN during the Ferguson riots, a huge news story. Customer service is the worst ever, The chat live is a scripted bunch of crap they say over and over. I don't know how the owner can sleep at night. Crooks, frauds, extortionists.

I had set up my Chase credit card to automatically pay my monthly Dish bill. I finally got them to stop charging my credit card this month, February 2015. They had charged my credit card for about $850. When I confronted them about this and demanded reimbursement, they claimed they had no record of anyone calling in to cancel the Dish service. They also claimed that they were sending charging notifications to an email address I had provided them.

Both were a fabrication on their part! I don't even know what "pmail" is? This sounds to me like a major scam they play on customers that cancel their service. They refused to reimburse me the total amount. They said they are going to credit me $289.78, which is nowhere close to the $850 they stole from me. I doubt that will even happen! I will never be a Dish customer again. I will never use auto-pay for any bill again and I will tell everyone I know my story.

I switched from DirecTV to Dish Network last Oct. I was promised how much better the picture and Hopper was than the DirecTV system and of course they would lower my bill. I had the installer over in the AM and he installed the dish and the system. He wasn't gone for an hour and the picture started to fade. I called the tech and he told me to reset the system and then all should work. I did what he told me and for an hour the picture was back and then faded to black. I called the tech again and he agreed to come out and check things. Well by now it was dark and really nothing he could do until the next day.

He came back on his own time the next morning and said the lack of picture had to do with the prior wiring and he needed to upgrade it, which he did. He was a very nice guy. He left and the picture and the quality of the picture was nowhere near what the picture was of DirecTV, and the Hopper that was supposed to record 6 shows at a time, really only recorded 3. I had Dish for three weeks and couldn't take the really poor quality of the picture and the Hopper that did not work as it was supposed to, so I decided to go back to DirecTV. I called them and I told them of what happened and they were very happy to have me back as a customer. I told them there was going to be an early termination fee and they agreed to cover $200.00 which I believe would be fine.

I called Dish to cancel and I was told that there was an early termination fee of $480.00, which I felt was outrageous and I asked to speak to a supervisor, and I explained to them what happened and I told them the service was not what was advertised and I was not happy and out of frustration I canceled their service, and I was told how sorry they were I wasn't satisfied but I signed a contact and unless I had them restart the service I was going to be charged $480.00 early termination fee. I told them I would not pay it and I was told they would just debit my card. So, in lieu of that, I canceled my back account and my credit card on file so they could not. This was a nightmare for me, but I was not letting them bully me into paying for something that did not work.

I started to e-mail the CEO of Dish Network and after three e-mail from the different addresses I had, someone called me. I explained my story and was basically told the same story, you signed a contact and you will be charged the full early termination fee. I offered to split it with them and was rejected. And was promptly hung up on by a rude Dish customer service rep. I continued to e-mail the CEO thinking this might get some response, well after 10 e-mails, I got another call from someone who worked under the CEO. I explained the story and was promptly given the same answer, you signed the contact and you have to pay the fee, by now, I had already decided against splitting the difference with them. I told them just to send me to collections and I had no intention of paying for something that didn't work.

It’s going on four months and I still receive calls from Dish Network telling me to call them about my account, I did once and they asked why I was calling and I was told that I needed to pay the bill, and I told them I was never going to pay the bill and I was hung up on once again. I will tell anyone who even thinks of using Dish Network don't! They have a motto of TOTAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION… total lie! They only care about the money and screwing the customer. I work in an industry where if the customer isn't happy we do all that we can to ensure they are, even if it means a refund. Dish Network cares only for $$$. They don't deserve anything. Period!

Dish Network rep told me if I purchased my own boxes that I wouldn't have to pay the additional $7 per room, so I did at $198.97. Was also told that 6 rooms were included in install even with my boxes that when the tech was done, just had to call in boxes to activate and there would also be no fee. When tech arrived he was only informed to install his box and there is an additional charge to install my boxes and that my bill then would be $7 per room for additional service totaling $28 per month = $336 per year more.

Now have two dish boxes that I didn't need, would still have the same price per month with their boxes. I was told that it was my fault for ordering the boxes and my problem, when I was misled by the dish network employee!! Talked with the top manager and was told there was nothing they could do. Called Dish this evening to find out if they will provide services in my area. I had this question because Dish refused to provide me service in my previous apartment home and now I moved to a new apartment. The first person (Chris) who took my street address, city zip code also asked my apartment number which I reluctantly gave. He transferred call to a second person (Randa or Andrew, not sure), who said he would send somebody to inspect my house and asked for my credit card. When I refused to give that he started on a lengthy allegory of "if I come to your house and ask for your car key, would give it to me. This is same thing, you are asking for Dish services and we need your card information." I politely pointed that, "This is not the right allegory as I'm only asking do you have the services, so it would be more like do you have a car to sell, not asking your car keys."

He then transferred the call to his supervisor who he thought it would be able to give me a correct information as to if a service can be provided in my area. Mr. ** started asking all what channels I would like, what channels I saw before. I said, "if you provide service I will call back." He got really angry, he started accusing, "why did you call us if you don't want our service." "You are the one who called me, I didn't call you." By that time I just wanted to keep the phone down. I said, "I am sorry, I called." He kept going, "If you called you tell me what channel you had with your last service."

This time I requested his full name, to which he only give his name as CHRISTIAN and said he is not required to give me his full name. I again said politely, "Well, you asked my full name." He retorted that was required to decide if he could provide DISH service to me or not. Well, I did not realize that DISH discriminates service provision based on surnames. I always thought that the service providers are sweet until they get you as their customer and then the bad behavior start. Here it started even before I request for a service. Horrible experience. WORD OF THE WISE DON'T EVER USE DISH SERVICES!!! This is possibly the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced!! I chose to shop out different cable providers after my Comcast bill had proven to be too high. After talking to a Dish representative for over an hour and a half and expressing my concerns (my husband's job potentially relocating us to the city, breaking contract, etc.), it sounded like Dish was the right move. WRONG!!

I have only had this cable provider for UNDER a month and found out we'd be moving our family from Michigan to Boston. Yes, of course they can move your cable services for you to Boston but not when you are living in a building that DOES NOT allow a DISH satellite. I called DISH to express my concerns. I spoke to Alex first who really couldn't help me, since this issue was beyond his scope.

Next, I was transferred to Frank. Frank was an account specialist. He went on to tell me that regardless if the building doesn't allow DISH and these are extenuating circumstances he could not help me and that I'd be charged a $460.00 cancellation fee. I was misled by the initial sales guy who sold me DISH services, I had expressed my concerns, but not once did he mention a HUGE cancellation fee!! All he wanted was the sale! Frank continued to tell me there was nothing he could do. Isn't he an account specialist?! He then went on to belittle me, acting as if I didn't know what a contract was.

Yes, I understand a contract. And in this case, it's very similar to a lease. If you sign a 12mo. lease and break it midway through, you forfeit your security deposit or one month's rent not normally the entirety of the balance of the lease. I went on to ask for someone above Frank, who may be able to help me. Transferred to a supervisor, CJ. I talk to CJ, express the same thing I had told both Alex and Frank, for him to tell me, "I'm sorry, you're in a contract and the cancellation fee is $460. There is nothing I can do." How is it that there is nobody who can do anything in this entire company?? I feel as if I were tricked into this contract and that the initial sales guy never properly enlightened me on what would happen if I were to move to a place that did not allow a DISH satellite (or any satellite for that fact). The worst part about this is... I did ask in the event if we had to move, what would happen!

DISH TV will lose more than $460 out of this issue. Not only will I NEVER use DISH TV again but, I will never recommend it to anyone!!! This was some of the worst customer service, with not even a tad of empathy or support from the DISH TV representatives/staff. If you think you're saving yourself money by switching to DISH do yourself a favor and don't switch! Awful, Awful. Oh, and did I mention On Super Bowl Sunday when I had 60 people at our house for a party, one of our boxes was failing to work and not getting a signal?! Talk about an inconvenience!!

Dish installed our system approximately four months ago. We were very dissatisfied with their "customer service?". I wanted to review my contract/customer service agreement, only to discover that I was not furnished with one, so I call Dish and they sent me a copy of a contract that purported to contain my signature at the bottom. IT WAS NOT MY SIGNATURE and I notified Dish that I was terminating my service and asked that they arrange to have their equipment removed from my home.

The equipment was returned and by certified mail (two letters and three telephone calls) I advised them that I did not sign any agreement and that apparently the undistinguished scribble was obviously put there by the installation tech, after he left my home when he realized that he neglected to have me sign a contract. I further advised Dish that if indeed they could produce a contract with my signature I would pay the cancellation fee. They ignored my efforts and they continue to bother me with harassing telephone calls.

Please forward to the president and CEO of Dish Network. I spoke to a Dish representative today and am not satisfied with the service I received. We need to cancel the Dish Service for my mom due to her need to leave her home for health reasons. The agent set up the cancellation time as requested. She informed me that there would be a $50.00 early cancellation fee due to a contract that would not expire until July 2015. I believe this fee should be waived. This is my concern.

In July 2013, repairs were needed to the satellite dish therefore a repair man came to the house. Repairs were made. He offered her a FREE upgrade to the hopper, which she accepted. She was led to believe that this was FREE. After she received her bill she realized there was a monthly fee for the hopper and it was not free, she called and cancelled this immediately. July 30, which is within 30 days. If the repair man would have told her there was an additional monthly fee she would not have taken the upgrade. She only took the hopper because she was led to believe it was free, and as you can see, she cancelled as soon as she found out it was not what she was led to believe. Because of the misleading sales tactics she has a 2 year contract.

My mother is elderly, is 75% blind and in poor health and at that time her husband had recently passed away. This is not the type of individual that Dish should be taking advantage of. ** - After reading this publication, I believe my mother was misled and did not understand the information, or lack of information provided. I believe she was taken advantage of, which can be construed as fraud. This may seem like a small fee that I am making a big fuss over but repairmen taking advantage of the elderly is about as immoral as it gets.

First off, I wish I could give no stars. My husband had DISH Network hooked up at our residence a little less than 2 years ago because our DirecTV bill had gotten a little outrageous. At the beginning, all was well. As soon as our first year was up, the bill went from less than $50 to $90. My husband called, and after much back and forth, the representative agreed to give us a credit for the next 6 months. Ok, great.

Then one fine month, after many of being on Auto Pay, we received a paper bill informing us that our payment had not been received with a late fee attached. My husband called and they said some nonsense about how the bill had to have a $0 balance before Auto Pay kicked in. What?! It had been on auto draft for months! So then, we began paying the bill manually.

Then yesterday, I check my bank account to see that DISH had drafted $100.69 from our account. My husband called, and they told him it had been drafting since November! Um, no, it most certainly has not, and I have the bank statements to back that up. My husband told them we needed the money put back into our account, which they refused. They told him all they could do is give us a $50 credit for our next bill. Then we get home to see that our DVR has mysteriously been wiped clean, and will no longer function in any capacity other than live TV. Coincidence? Who can say. All I know is I am sick of their terrible customer service and lies. This is the last month we will have their horrible service, and I strongly urge others to do their homework about Dish Network.

As an unsatisfied customer of DISH because of charges, fees, etc., I initiated to cancel my account and service with DISH and switch to a better television provider on December 27, 2014. After speaking to four different representatives (Amber, Mark, Joey and Nancy), of which each referred me to the other, my account was scheduled for cancellation on December 29, 2014. I was told a final bill will be issued on the next billing cycle. I was also told that DISH would send a prepaid mailing box to return the equipment.

I received the prepaid mailing box and final bill. After returning the equipment and paying the final bill, I received yet another billing statement charging me for the box ($17.66 including tax). After speaking to yet another representative (Kim) on February 10, 2015, she seemed confused and told me that she would explore options. I threatened to report DISH to BBB and other municipalities if this charge wasn't taken care of today! She finally credited the statement to close the account. WHAT A JOURNEY!

2 years ago I sign up with Dish. The salesman lie and said the Blockbuster was the same as Netflix. When the installer came to hook up the dish was nice and told me that I couldn't get the Blockbuster. Also it was nothing like Netflix and also told me I didn't even get the HD box which is cost more money. The next day I call customer service - let them know that the salesman lie on the phone. She transfer me to supervisor. I explained the same thing. She said they have to do an investigation. I didn't wanted to deal with and cancel my account. I send everything back that was 23rd ago. Today I get a bill for $488.00 for using cable with Dish for 3 days. Unbelievable - I will never do business with Dish Network for the rest of my life. Be careful what you sign.

After a number of calls and very hard sales people that would not let me cancel my service, I finally got someone that allowed me to do so on Dec. 20th. They would not send the box for the equipment until I paid my final bill. I went that day and paid the bill. After making 3 or 4 calls again, I was able to get them to send the box. I sent the equipment. Waiting for the early dismissal bill to come in I got a bill stating I owed $219.62 for cable use. I called today and found out it was because when I called in to get the equipment box I did not tell them I wanted my service cancelled and 1 hour later I got an an e-mail saying if I don't pay my bill in 48 hours they are turning me over to a collection agency.

A month ago I received a collection notice for $165.00+ for fees that I never returned their equipment. I called DISH to see what this was all about and they said that they could not access my account. I sat on hold for almost 45 minutes to talk to someone that was supposed to be able to help me and couldn't in the end. I would not suggest DISH Network to my worst enemy. This company is very crooked and unorganized. And in the end I will not be paying that bill. They told me also it was my programming bill. How ridiculous!! DON'T GO WITH DISH!!

Second I tried to call and make a complaint about the service and was switched 7 times to different and then they said that they would credit my account of $15 dollars, which I never seen.

I was told that there was a 30 trial service and when I called to disconnect I again was transferred to 3 different times and they offered me all kinds of discounts and each time I told them that I was not happy with the customer service that I was getting and so they transferred me to the president’s office. When I asked for a manager, and I was told that the managers do not talk to anyone and when I asked for the president they said he talks to no one. For the conclusion they are charging me $480 for disconnect which now they lied again about the 30 day trial service. VERY, VERY dissatisfied customer and warn anyone that would look to DISH of service.

First time we became Dish customer was August 2012 right before college football. Soon after couple months time I had to leave US for more than couple months and my husband had to move out of state for his job. We found out that our new apartment wouldn't let us dig hole on the ground for antenna so we called Dish to let them know our problem and we were offered the option to keep our account in hold without any information that once we keep our account in hold, it would be considered as a new contract meaning if our initial contract was until August 2014 it would move to sometimes of 2015 and no one explained us that at all.

We were paying 5 dollars each month for hold service and almost 9 months after we were charged 90 some dollars automatically withdrawn from our cc without any notice and we called up and they said it's the policy for installation fee and the system did it. We said OK, we again let them know our situation of apartment not letting us keep and they again offered to keep account on hold again not letting us know that our contract would get extended further until late 2015. No one told us ever and we never knew about the trick they were doing with us. Then we started paying 8 dollars monthly hold fee. When we called them they said since the promotional offer expired it's 8 dollars now, we said OK.

But again after some months we were automatically charged 76 dollars in our cc without our authorization and it was when we called them to find out that our contract is a never ending thing and it had moved from August 2014 to sometimes in 2016 and they still want us to pay 200 some dollars early termination fee and all the money they got from us for almost three years was a policy and system did it and we just were absolutely helpless after almost 2 hrs phone call. Not only that, we were told that his cc information sits in the system even he removes the auto payment and could be charged for the termination fee again without notification.

So we don't know what to say to these people except they don't deserve to be in business and there are many wonderful cable companies in the market. They can't fix anything as they blame it on policy and they are there just to fool people and rip them off. We are very disappointment absolutely angry with them, because had we known about this trap of never being able to get out of contract we would have paid early termination fee then 2 years before and be don't with them, but unfortunately we paid them more than 300 dollars for no service at all for last 2 years and still waiting to be charged for early termination fee of 230 .00 or similar amount.

We started with 19.99 and they increase the money up to 79.99 without any notification. They withdraw money more than your regular scheduled amount without notification. We are thinking of reporting our credit card company as we never gave them permission to pull the money 10 times more than our monthly payment which was set auto pay. So please every one don't ever use Dish network, don't get fooled by them. Their policies will kill people like us who work hard to make a living. Please don't ever use Dish network.

Just this morning I was watching a show and halfway into it, Dish takes away that channel along with half of my other channels and still charge the same price. Dish is an idiotic TV provider who shows more commercials than shows. DO NOT GET DISH!! My family recently moved to a new home and I scheduled to have my service connected on the new house on Saturday, February 1st. At this point, I've had DISH service well over 10 years. I upgrade my service, but the technician arrives without the proper equipment. He apologizes and reschedules my work order for the following day, Sunday, February 2nd, but tells me I must call to confirm. I call and the service call is not for the next day, but a week later, Sunday February 8th. I talk to a representative who escalates my call because they tell me they cannot come to my house until Tuesday, February 3rd. After a very long conversation and some really great offers, I tell the lady to schedule me for Tuesday and if I decide to switch, I will let her know. I called another company who was unable to come sooner and could not make as good as the offer. I immediately call dish back and made sure my appointment was scheduled for Tuesday.

My husband takes off work and they never show! I call and am very upset. They tell me it was never rescheduled. I again am very upset, but realize at this point no one can get to my house sooner. They offer to come Thursday between 1-5. I accept this change reluctantly. Wednesday night, I thought I'd just call and make sure. To my SURPRISE, they only canceled my Sunday appointment and did not reschedule.

Again, I am beyond upset and decide to cancel service. My husband is there and tells me not to because we probably can't get anyone else out and we are desperate at this point for TV. They reschedule for Friday between 1-5. Today is Thursday and I'm praying they show up. My appointment is scheduled when I call the call center. I must say that they are the most incompetent staff I have ever worked with. My family has been going crazy without TV, and we've had well over $1000 in lost wages for taking off work to be there when they decide to show up.

After 20 years as a Dish Network customer I recently tried to upgrade to the Hopper offer. New customers get 250 channels and Hopper free along with free HD for life and a few movie channels for 3 months and some sort of sports package also for 3 months. Total cost before fees with new contract is 39.99 for 12 months, and 84.99 after that. Now if I wanted 4 room DVR it becomes 69.99 for 12 months then 129.99 after that. plus .07% for Uncle Sam of course. Now since I'm a supposed "Preferred Loyal Customer", if I want to do the same thing, I pay 139.99 a month plus installation, get no freebies for 3 months and HD programming is 10 bucks extra. Why in the hell would I agree to that? 20 years as a customer and that's a perk? The reasoning they gave me was "Satellite equipment is expensive and without a new contract we have no secured way to protect our equipment should you terminate service."

I responded with "You never secured my current equipment over the course of several equipment upgrades, I have always been a cash customer at my local store and never even had to pay a deposit". Their response was "now your just being argumentative" and the call went dead. To say customer service is lacking would be a huge understatement, Worse yet I'm still trying to cancel the internet service they sold me last year (7 months ago) that took more than 3 days to install after I signed their 9-month trial contract, that ended up not even being available in my area! it still isn't!!

I disconnected my services with Dish Network after being a loyal customer for 10 years. I disconnected the services on the 13th of the month. I paid my bill with automatic withdraw. On the 13th they pulled out the payment of $130.90 which I understand was too late to stop their automatic withdraw. After sending the boxes back, they emailed me they would be refunding me $68.00 of my $130.90. I called them and told them that the refund should of been $130.90 minus the price they charge for 2 labels. I was told it would be $10.00 a label by email. I asked them why is the credit only $68.00 then?

I got three different explanations- The first one was for stocking fee, refurbish fee etc. I told them that was their responsibility not mine. The second explanation was we had used a few days of service. I asked them how that could be possible since we had Direct TV on the 13th. Can't use both. So the third explanation was the billing period was from 1/7-2/7. That is totally false as we would of been paying our account in the arrears, which no company does. You always pay in advance for the following month--Which was 1/16-2/16. They always withdraw three days earlier so it clears by the 16th. I got nowhere with them and I got ripped off.

Three months into my service I started seeing addl. charges. I was told I had to call prior to the charges to discontinue that particular movie pkg that was only to last as promo channels for 3 months. They gave me not even half of a credit back. Then shortly after that dispute was settled. My dish would lose signal and just go out so I put in a service call that they tried to charge me $110 to service until I raised all hell. Then they claimed they would waive this fee one time. I guess I would've had to pay if I didn't raise an eyebrow. Like my friend had to.
