I joined DISH back in April. I've called about the problems I'm having to no avail. Pictures keep going out even when watching the DVR, getting messages to check plugs, hopper starting up or other messages. I'm so fed up with this service. Thinking about going back to Directv, the price was higher but I was getting good service plus they'll send someone out to fix the problem. I ordered the $39.99 pack and bill was $91.00 monthly and now after the 3 month deal it's higher. Bad business DISH. And wasn't getting all the channels back then, I don't have HBO, Starz, Cinemax... Seem like the bill should be lower and this Hopper Sling isn't working out at all.

My dish pulled away from the mounting it was attached to on my house. Wood rot. Of course the Dish reception went out and I lost TV. I called customer service. It was a simple case of realigning the dish itself (I had already replaced the rotted wood and reattached the mounting and dish itself). Unfortunately a technician wouldn't be out to my house for 12 days. There is only one technician for my county, I'm in a very rural area. 5 days pass of me watching DVDs, then, DISH calls. They are bumping me up by a week. The tech will be out in 2 days. YAHOOOOO!

The tech (Bill) does come out on the newly modified schedule. He was courteous, on time, knowledgeable, and quick. He checked for updates (non-monetary) to my system as it was over 8 years old. He called DISH customer service on my behalf as he knew the jargon. I did qualify for FREE updates. I'm now getting some HD channels I had no idea I was eligible for.

Many of the reviews seem to be on the individual technician (repairman). That is something to be taken up with DISH Human Resources who contracts out the physical work involved. Everything else is related to billing and if you understand what you signed up for. The DISH service in my area, Hawaii, has never been an issue for me. I'm happy with DISH even more so now (and my house is already wired for Time Warner) because of the overall service I received on 10-24-2015. I have recommended DISH to friends over Cable or DirecTV.

My boyfriend and I moved into a condo where the satellite wasn't able to be installed, due to the association in the complex refusing it be put on the roof. It was out of our hands and also Dish's hands. We were told to put it on a pause that was $5 a month or pay $500 for a cancellation of an early contract. I called a few weeks later to have the tv service dropped to the lowest dollar amount it could go which I was told was $19. They never fixed our account. My bf was charged random amounts at different times of the month. No one speaks English and the customer service reps are rude as hell and interrupt you while you try to explain your problem.

They are a rip off and should pay for all the charges we were charged. And my biggest complaint of all is our contract is up and they still continue to take money even though I have called and told them we don't want their service and can't even use the service. I will never have Dish again or anything associated with them. They are dishonest and shady and a rip off.

I repeatedly experience issues where the DISH Guide says one program is on a channel but the posting is wrong. F1 racing is in TX today and the channel that it is on says "Paid Programming" rather than the typical "Formula 1". DISH's lack of attention to updating its Guide to reflect true programming is horrible. Given the cost of DISH services, I expect better information.

I clearly told him I will disconnect service after 7 months but he wasn't ready to listen. All he wanted was to activate my service. This business is the worst I have ever worked with. The technician that came to my house was very rude-- left boxes of trash from the hoppers. The plastic hoppers were wrapped in all over the rooms in my home. Used curse words several times while in my home which were witnessed by a friend and my two children. From there it became a bigger mess as I was told I would receive a call within 3 to 4 business days. 5 business, 6 business, 7 business and so on pass and no contact was made by dish customer service. I as the customer made all of the contact and spent hours on the phone being transferred multiple times, two different people that seem to not listen and not help me. I have never had problems with any type of business. I have never had to complain until I signed up with Dish network. I can't say enough how I would never recommend this company to anyone.

All those that I know who have Dish say the same thing about customer service. I wished that I wouldn't have fallen for the promise of this being one of the best decisions I will make. Not only did the technician that came to my house tear my patio carpet but last cable all over, unkempt everywhere around the TVs. Cable hanging from my son's TV not allowing us to even close his closet door and splitters that were hung in my basement left hanging leaving my husband to have to come after the technician and repair all the work that he should have done. These are just a few of the problems that occurred while he was in my home. I've been told that there is no grace when it comes to waiving my cancellation fee even though I've had this service less than 3 weeks which has been three weeks of pure hell trying to get this problem resolved.

Dish Network speaks of world class customer service which was never once shown to this customer. I remained calm and patient until I was forced to be on the phone for hours while representative tried compensating me with these ridiculous offers. This is the worst mistake I have ever made. These people are the most difficult people to work with. I would tell all those people in post anywhere that I know people would notice and shout from the rooftops to run the other way if they ever are confronted with these so called good deals and world class customer service that was supposedly supposed to be offered.

We had Dish Network for several years but they kept increasing their rates so we decided to go with Uverse last November (11/2014). My husband contacted Dish and told them we were canceling our account with them. Just this month on 10/5/2015 there was a debit from our checking account for $196.32. I immediately contacted Dish and they said that our account had only been put on a 9 month pause, so they reactivated it. We had canceled it back in November of 2014 when we went with Uverse. I was livid. I was told that the money would be refunded in 7-10 business days.

On 10/15/15 they only refunded our checking account in the amount of $99.06. I once again called and they said that the service had been active for a month. How in the world could that be when we have an active Uverse account? There was no notice of reactivation or any correspondence from them regarding this matter. I have blocked Dish from our checking account and do not anticipate getting the additional $97.26. I find this practice to be fraudulent and they should be held accountable.

I found out later (per conversations with Dish) it would be 6-8 weeks before I would receive the card in the mail. In previous calls to Dish, they kept telling me I would be getting it in the mail. Yesterday 10/19/2015 they told me I was no eligible for the card. They said I didn't sign up thru Dish, but thru Infinity Sales Group. Nowhere on the promo offer does it say anything about Infinity Sales Group and part of receiving the card was that I had to activate Dish service, which I did in May 2015.

Yesterday trying to get this solved, I talked to 5 people in customer service. I was routed to a different number to check on the card. I called the number and was put in line on hold. I held for 1 hr 26 min and no one answered. I called back and same thing happened again. Called Dish Customer service again, transferred several times and was told Dish would not honor the $200 card promo. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LIES I have ever been involved with. Original Review: Oct. 19, 2015

They cancelled me after one week of service for asking why is my TV service out daily and stating all I want is what I am paying for. The customer service reps were terrible and dishonest. I believe call center wasn't in the states. They wouldn't let me talk to anyone with knowledge or can understand what I wanted. So my choice was pay 500.00 early termination fee, or lose 2-year price lock. I was promised (49.99 190 channels for 2 years) price would have been over 100 as a new customer, so now I have 50 channels for 50.00 a month, don't get premium channels for 3 months nor RedZone free for one year. If you have another TV provider I urge you to stay with them instead of this borderline hit men for TV service. If you have same problems go complain to your attorney general, maybe a class action lawsuit will be filed!

Until I did open mail from them stating that I owed them 300.00, I do not even have a tv hooked up!

When I first opened the bill, I was in a rush and thought it was my internet provider and I had somehow overlooked payment, so I picked up the phone and made a payment over the phone. Moments later, I realized that it was NOT my internet provider bill, but for the tv service I had nine months prior! They told me it would be refunded. Weeks later - was not... Then I was told that "people in the back office" denied the refund... And those people would not accept phone calls. Pretty sly way to get consumers rooked into paying for more service. I purchased a home earlier this year and have been trying to get DISH to remove the dish that is still attached from a former renter that lived at this property before I purchased it. After being given the names of local DISH reps, and assured that the dish would be removed, the reps told me that they either don't have technicians or they would remove it for a charge of $95. I will not pay for someone else's failure to remove the dish. And I will not continue to advertise for DISH! My home is not a billboard. Their name (logo) is on the dish and the ownership reverts back to them. I have spent nearly two hours of my life being transferred back to the same number and speaking to non English speaking people. Finally one person in Mexico City transferred me to an office of Resolution Settlements in Texas. Mr. ** did nothing to help me. Stating it's not DISH's responsibility.

I intend to charge DISH for advertising while seeking legal action against this company. Also intend to find as many others in the same spot as I am (Mr. ** told me he speaks to people in my same situation a lot). Sounds like a class action suit. From the reviews I've read on this site I certainly would not ever consider becoming a DISH subscriber. Never have and how I will not ever. If this is the way they treat people... Well, that's all I have to know about the company. And subcontracting jobs outside of the US is another good reason to not use DISH. Boycott DISH T.V.!!! He said as long as I pay it on my payday, I was good 'cause people with auto pay have a grace period so I shouldn't get disconnected. I asked him numerous times to repeat that so I could confirm it.

Well I get a call at work that my cable is disconnected. I called back and spoke to a lady who told me there was nothing they could do, no extensions even though I have never had one before - nothing. And I couldn't understand what she was saying. Well I ask to speak to the supervisor. Well she gets on the phone and tell me they could lower my package to the amount I had, which I lost over 70 channels. I proceed to ask her about all the promotions they have on TV for new customers. Do the loyal customers not get rewarded for sticking with them? She told me don't worry about the special, I need to worry about my payment.

As a consumer quality customer service is paramount, I'm sorry to say that there was nothing quality about this experience or customer service.

This company has the worst customer service. The first year was ok no issues. I terminated my contract with DISH on the 7th of October due to inflated fees and charges every month. The charges are never explained. They took the $40.00 early cancellation fee without authorization. I let it go just to get rid of the headache. I told them that their equipment was in the mail on the 8th of October. I gave the customer service agent the tracking number and everything. They were informed not to take any monies out of my account because it not authorized.

They assured me that as long as the equipment came before the 15th of October everything would be fine. On October 12th I got an email thanking me for my payment, my account was charged $140.00. I was then told they did that because they need to receive their equipment. Then they state I owe past due bill anyway of that same amount. This is far from the truth. This company will keep charging your card as a one time payment at their leisure. Please beware of this company. They are very shady with poor customer service. I am in the process of fixing this issue. I would not recommend this company to an enemy let alone a friend.

How dare Dish Network take NBC away the weekend of the Charlotte race, giving us no opportunity to make other arrangements. Their reps are giving same scripted answer as the station when you click on... all NBC's fault and customers will not be bullied! How about Dish's customers who pay monthly who want that one night to watch something as special to them as the Super Bowl? We weren't given the option to pay more or for it to be ANY other night of the year! So we are out football and the most important NASCAR race of the year and have 20 people invited over! I've already bought food for my party and Dish offered as a consolation $5 off my bill! Wow! I don't want the $5, I want the race on or should have been given enough notice to disconnect from Dish and get another service!

This is the 3rd such disconnect I have put up with from Dish while sucking it up and being told it's for my best interest! Really? Why do they get to decide that when I've already paid my bill? I told the rep it was underhanded, customers were not given notice. He played it off and said "Underhanded, I'm trying to deal with 3 customers at one time." So don't know if that was his way of avoiding being off script but I meant not giving notice of losing NBC and he knew exactly what I meant. What would dealing with 3 customers at one time have to do with being underhanded? What about the sponsors that paid for the race to be broadcasted? Just don't seem right!

I recently tried Dish network after being a customer of DirecTV for 13 years. The insane thing about Dish is every day at 1:30 am all customers are cut off from service for automatic updates. The Dish box shuts off and until you turn it on again you lose anything you have scheduled to record. I contacted their tech support and they said we are supposed to lose the service we are paying for so dish can update. They don't know how DirecTV can do updates and not turn their receiver box off. This is unbelievable that all the Dish customers across the nation have their box shut off every night and deal with not getting the service to record they paid for. I can't believe anyone will stay with Dish. If they don't fix this the minute my contract with dish is done I'm going back to DirecTV where we never had this problem.

However, during the point of sale, the communication is very clear. I feel as if to gain a person's business they ensure agents can speak clear English but for concerns they have agents that speak with broken English. Communication is important and I just don't trust this company due to questions I had regarding my service. What should of been 10 minutes for a call turned into 50 minutes because of confusion in communication.

I had contacted Dish on Monday requesting information on the service/plans and the ability of the equipment to stay on all night without interruption, downtime, or updates during the night. I was told by the Representative there would be no issues. I explained I have a condition that requires the television to remain on all night or I wake up and cannot go back to sleep. I agreed to have Dish installed after the representative informed me I would not have a problem under normal conditions. The tech came and installed the system. He disabled to save program (if you are not doing anything for several hours it would shut down). The first night the system shut down for updates at 1:30 am. I woke up and could not fall back to sleep. You have to manually hit enter to have picture and sound come back on.

I contacted Dish. They told me the unit does shut down for updates every night. They also explained they have a new "Hopper" that you can set a time for the system to do the updates. The tech came out, and told me he was not aware of any new program that has that capability, but the older hopper could, only problem is it does not have HD capability. The other option was to get two different systems - having to record on both units. I told them I wanted to cancel service since and they want $400.00 cancellation fee. I told them if they had represented their product honestly, I would not have had it installed, because the system does not work for me under medical reasons.

On Sept. 22 I made my payment online. It must have been a glitch with my cell phone because a payment for $133.85 and a payment for $133.00 was taken out of my account on Sept. 24th. After checking my account realizing my account was debited by check 2 times, I immediately called dish. I spoke with operator ZOB who was very pleasant, saw that the payment was taken out of my account 2 times. She had told me that she was glad that I had caught that double payment, because if my bill had generated that they wouldn't have been able to reverse my payment and that she was going to reverse the payment, and I should have it back in my account within 3 business days. I called back just to check on my refund and another operator told me that a refund takes 5 to 7 business days for processing.

I called back within 5 days just to check on my refund, and then I was told by another operator my refund had not been processed and he was getting ready to process it at that time which would have been September 29th. Immediately I asked for a manager. The manager gets on the phone and tells me that the refund was processed on the 29th which was that day and that it would be 12 business days before I got my refund back. So I began to tell him that that was unacceptable and that I needed my money. The operator then told me that there was nothing that he could do to speed up the process. That because the refund was processed on the 29th, I will have to wait 12 business days before I got my refund.

I then began to ask for the district manager's number. No one in the office could give me a direct number to a district manager or someone who would be able to help me with my problem. He gave me a website to go, on wecare.com in which nobody cares at dish about your problem because the ladies in the chat room explain to me the policy is 19-21 business days before a refund is refunded. I had been on the phone for over 2 hours trying to figure out what the issue was with them refunding my money when they took it out of my account check by debit within 2 days. Every operator told me that I wrote a check even though it was online. It was still a check and a check processing is 19-21 business days for refund.

I began to ask why wasn't the operator aware of the refund policy when I called on the 24th? It only took them two days to take the money out of my account but 21 days to replace my money. By now I'm very upset and one of the operators transfer me to an account specialist. This account specialist was very rude and did not care about my situation as I explained to her that I'm a single parent with two children, one daughter in college and on a budget and that was my money for my car insurance. All she kept saying is the refund policy is 19-21 business days. When I asked to speak to her boss she told me that I could call wecare.com. That conversation went nowhere fast. I've then called back and ask for another account specialist and got Brian who informed me that the refund policy was 12 business days and then I will have my money in my account on Monday October 5th no later than Tuesday October 6th.

On October 7th I still have not received my refund. Called Brian back several times, he never picked up the phone, and never returned my phone call. Call back again to speak to another account specialist and she began to tell me that my refund was not processed until September 30th and that it would be 19-21 business days before I received a refund. So by now I am furious with DISH Network. I was told that I could call my bank to see what they could do to get my money back (by a friend). My bank went in and reverse the charges which would take another 24 hours. My real issue is that the first operator should have known the refund policy, explain that to me, gave me an option to call my bank to get my money reversed, instead of anyone suggesting that they gave me the runaround for 13 days. Lied to me about processing my refund.

No one knew the policy because I was told maybe five or six different things by different operators at Dish Network. This was an inconvenience for myself and my children, and still today October 8th I have not heard a word from anyone at Dish Network saying that they were sorry for my inconvenience. I would not recommend Dish Network to anyone. They asked you over and over again to do the surveys for them and it seems to be not doing any good or helping with customer service issues. I would not be with DISH Network after this 24 month contract is up with prices changing and fluctuating. When they told you in the beginning you were going to be at a set price. Dish Network is a horrible company and every time it rains you lose signal. Which I was told by the sales rep. that they had fixed that issue. Dish network really need to work on their people skills and informing the operators of policies and procedures.

Then took 460$ out of my son's acct for early termination fees. The only reason they had his checking acct was he was the one home when they came to some work. So please choose DIRECTV although I'm sure if same problem arises they will treat me the same way. Why? Because that is what our world has come to. And we have to let them mistreat us because we are so spoiled that we can't just say "take your dish and shove it." We have to have our tv. We are very upset with Dish and want to get the word out for those considering using them or renewing a contract. When we signed up for TV (at our temporary house) they came out & told us we would need internet as well and that we would only be able to use them in the lake area for internet. They added the service and WOW has it been horrible! It's slow and you can't upgrade to faster speeds... only larger GB packages. They also failed to inform us that the contract was for 2 YEARS. We are now in the process of moving into our new house and called them looking for other options, as the internet itself is HORRIBLE, we weren't even trying to stream movies or do anything other than simple internet things. They then told us that we were locked into a 24 month contract, even when they knew we were only living in the previous house temporarily while we are doing the remodel.

We explained that the internet service was too slow and because they don't offer higher speeds, we would want to cancel our contract. They said if we kept the TV we would still need to pay a fee just to cancel internet while keeping TV. I knew there would be a fee for canceling all services, which was upsetting as their services didn't work as promised. But charging to cancel one service that was more than subpar was ridiculous. So, as our only option (to avoid the fee), we had them do their moving service to our new house. A tech came out 2 weeks ago to assess the new house and let us know everything could be switched over and that the dish could be installed in a discreet location as it was at our rental.

The tech came out again today and proceeded to install the dish sticking out and hanging over our patio! When we told him that would not work, as it is an incredible eyesore, he told me that he could only place it in that exact spot, obstructing our patio and view of the lake, which is why we purchased a house here! We called customer service, unhappy about their continued restrictions and inconveniences hoping they would possibly waive the cancellation fee because they couldn't even install it in an appropriate place nor provide us internet speeds that will allow you to actually use the internet.

They are not only charging us for the trip out today, but are charging us $300 to cancel the TV & $200 to cancel the internet! $500 to cancel their service, which is only because their service doesn't meet standards. They also would not allow their tech to take the equipment back with him and are requiring us to mail everything back ourselves at our own expense. Their customer service was extremely rude and I am in shock that they do business like that!

I have had nothing but problems with Dish TV from the very beginning. The technician cut all the cable that was ran to different rooms. Okay we let that go thinking he was new or something. Then every time it rain our service would go out for over 30 minutes or more and this is not during storms but when it sprinkles. I was so fed up with dish. Every time I got my bill it would slowly go up, or they did away with channels and still pay outrageous fees. I was so fed up the next time it sprinkled I decided my contract must be up so I Cancelled my service. I was thinking my contract was up. I called and they offer me their so called deals that would have cost more in the long run and informed me I was a excellent customer and told me they wanted me to stay because of my excellent pay history.

I told them I'm not interested to go ahead and cancel it. Her tone of voice changed then she said I would have to pay a early termination fee of $40.00 a month for how many months were left on my contract. I told her it was up. She then tells me because I had it cancel on the 7th that I still had 2 days for that month plus a full month for the next month. I will be charged for a full month with the month that has 2 days left on it $20.00 and $20.00 for the final month. I told them that was ridiculous and I refused to pay that and to then leave it on and I will cancel the next month. She then tells me she already disconnected and I would have to now pay a activation fee to get it back on. They had trapped me either way to paying no matter what and had a excuse to get more money out of me. Then on top of all that I was told I would also be charged $10.00 for each box to shipped their equipment back to them. What? Another $20.00.

So now we are up to $60.00 extra on top of the bill that is now due. I have no problem paying for the past due bill. I asked them to send me a bill that reflects that they removed the bogus charges of being removed. They refused to do that. I refuse to pay anything until I get the correct bill. So now I have been turned into a collection agency because I refuse to pay these trumped up charges that has now ruined my credit rating. I feel that dish is inventing fees to squeeze a little more money from all its customers who want to leaving their service...

Oh when I first got dish they sure didn't have a problem having sending someone to bring the equipment, then asked to sign the paper. I was told "I need to have your signature on the line to show I was here and that you received the equipment." Nothing was ever said about being charge the extra $10.00 to send the equipment back. I am disable and live on a fixed income and by adding these charges on your bill sounds like it's their last attempt to get your last dime. Dish only point out things to benefit them and screw you, because you no longer want their service.

Found out through personal experience, the more you complain, the faster you run out of GB's before the end of the month. Before choosing DISH, look anywhere else.

I wouldn't recommend Dish to anyone! My wife and I subscribed to Dish about a year ago! And our first experience with started on the installation date! The technicians show up early and hooked up all outside connections without coming on the inside! Well once we came home and had to wait two more days for our inside service to be hooked up! The receiver box in the den was a dual tv set up! But while watching the number one tv you couldn't change channels on the number two tv. Well we contacted Dish they sent us a new receiver which still have the same problem, they said it would cost 95.00 to fix the problem. Plus they stated that they never received the old receiver back from us. And that's a 50.00 fee added on. Even though Ups gave us a confirmation of receipt number. Also the bill increased from 128.00 to 179.00 without notice! Please if you can read this - don't use or subscribe to Dish Network - it's a ripoff.

We had Dish for a little over 3 years. I hated it since the first day. I stayed with them because of the two-year contract and because I got a good price if I stayed more time after my two-year contract was over. They play their Dish commercials over and over and over again. It gets very irritating. Their customer service does not compare to DirecTV. DirecTV always provided me with the best customer service and Dish never did. Dish needs to train their people more and give their customers more. Dish is a joke. I don't ever want to deal with this company again. Another thing they did wrong to me is they charged me to send their equipment back after I was a loyal customer to them for over three years, never was I late on my monthly bill, and gave them notice and good explanations why I was deciding to cancel service, and I still had to pay them to send their equipment back??? Yeah, crazy.

When I asked why I would have to pay for it because that made no sense to me, DirecTV never charged me to send their working or non-working equipment back, and the Dish customer service lady said, "Well ma'am, please understand we are not DirecTV". Of course Dish is not DirecTV, and it is very FAAAR from getting to be like DirecTV. I would suggest Dish to start making better TV commercials because all of them are foolish and stupid. Also spend more of your money training your Dish employees because your customer service really stinks.

In August, I cancelled my DISH contract. Per conversation with nice DISH rep, about a week later I returned all DISH equipment (including specifically Netscape modem, less TV box which rep determined to be obsolete and not to be returned) in a padded box received from DISH. A few days later, email arrived acknowledging receipt of one piece of equipment but not modem. I emailed immediately that also including in the box was the modem (everything I had in possession from DISH minus the TV box). Nice email response apologizing.

Sept 22, received email that because DISH had not received modem, my account is being charged $99. I contacted Chat Line, explained everything and after 10 minute chat, was referred to another DISH 800 number. At that number, I waited through 5 or 6 recorded promotional that went on and on, only to get to a recording directing to another 800 number. At that number, recording asked first for city and state where I was but when I gave it, recording said it shown none. "Good bye." My solution? When charge appears on credit card, I'll contest and will not authorize payment. Frustrating and wasteful time consuming. Never do business with DISH again.

After install I contacted them when I could not find most of the NFL games and was told again that they were part of the package and I just needed to go online and search for the correct channels. I contacted them a 3rd time when I still couldn't find the games and was finally told that the package was only the RedZone channel and that they do not have the rights to carry any other non major network televised games. I then asked to switch to the Netflix option and was told it was too late. They had 2 agents lie directly to me and did nothing.

Me and my fiance just started with DISH NETWORK, we have not even paid our first bill and are already having problems. When we decided to go with Dish, we asked about a packaged deal with the 120 channels and high-speed internet. The representative was very helpful on the phone and worked to get our Monthly Bill as low as he could get it. When we got it all setup we had enough money on her card for the Cable and we came to a understanding that since I was headed to a wildfire within the hour that when I returned that we would only have to pay the 50$ to get the Internet hooked up since it was going to be a packaged deal, and also we were told that when I got back that they would have 2 boxes with HDMI ports for us.

Well to make the story short, while I was gone for 17 days they kept calling my fiance asking about setting up the Internet and she kept telling them that she was waiting for me to get back and they said OK. I get home call to get the Internet set up and was told that it was not available in my area, REALLY!!! The last time my fiance talked to them was the day before. Also I can't get any boxes that have HDMI ports unless I pay 100$ per box. So now I ended up going thru Century Link for my Internet which is way more than the 50$ that Dish said it would cost for Internet thru them. The reps have been helpful when I have called except for the Internet section of Dish, the lady there cannot explain why I can't get Internet and she doesn't want to explain it to me. I don't know if there is anything that I can do but I feel like it's going to be a long 23 months.

In 2008, I had Dish install equipment for satellite TV services. I temporarily moved from here for about 4 months, but returned. I asked about removing the equipment from the roof of the house before moving (I didn't know I was returning). (Unfortunately, the residence I moved to for four months now also has Dish satellites on it too. So that residence will also have the same problems.) I finally was eligible to cancel Dish services 2010. I am back at my original residential site of my first Dish services but not using their services - but their satellites are still on the roof.

I was outside earlier this afternoon and noticed one of the satellites is hanging by bolts. I called Dish to come and take away their old equipment. They said it's not their equipment, it's mine. One of the representatives stated that's why they obtain Landlord's permission (I rent) to notify the owners that the equipment is now their responsibility. This approval was never obtained. In fact, I got in trouble for not notifying my Landlord that I had the Dish equipment installed. When I spoke to higher-up supervisor at Dish, they gave me another story. That they never asked for Landlord's permission for installation. This seems like something illegal to me. Landlords should have to be notified if equipment is being installed on their property if it becomes their responsibility.

I spoke with a 2nd higher-up level supervisor, and they basically told me it's my equipment. When I temporarily moved from this site, I called Dish to have the equipment taken down. They said they wouldn't do it. They only said that it was more convenient for the next renters if they would care to use Dish services. They did not inform me that the equipment was mine. The satellite dish is about to fall off; am not sure if it will come through the window and the house, or fall straight off. Dish will not take down the equipment; they told me to contact a local retailer at my expense.

My major complaint: Dish will give you a song and dance about all their services but are not forthright about after the contract - what is your responsibility. It's written, with much dialogue, behind the service agreement. This should be available for you to read you sign at least a day before installation. I still haven't looked it over. If they are in the communication business, they should be responsible for explaining all services from a to z - not just to what is their financial gain. And the fact that my Landlords were never notified that they are responsible for Dish satellites dishes on their roof is a great injustice to them. They signed nothing and were not notified; I cannot give permission for ownership while I am only a renter.

Any suggestion, aside NEVER do business with Dish? PS: I asked if I could record our conversation and it was not given by the higher up supervisor. But of course, they were recording me. After I was told not to record, I told the supervisor they could not record me. They said they would stop recording. If they can record me, why do I not have the right to record them?

Am I being charged for the time I don't have service?" He said "Hold on ma'am. Let me check." and sure enough I was being charged for the 21 days I did not have service. I have gotten refunded ($58.17) for 2 of these. When the csr (customer service representative) that refunded me 1 of these said that my billing history was going to be looked into as far back as January of 2013. I told him I got a notice on my screen on the tv that I was getting shut off in 48 hrs - I just paid the $107 not even a week ago. This second csr said I wasn't going to be disconnected.

I wake up today and my service is disconnected. So I am back on the phone with Dish today and the csr doesn't understand what I am saying and I said "let me speak to a supervisor." He apologizes and said he would transfer me so I try to explain to the supervisor what is going on and what I am being told interrupts me and says "ma'am you were shut off for $11.99." I said "excuse me but I wasn't finished. There is a bigger issue here - you guys (Dish) have been charging me for tv I didn't even have for approximately almost 3 years" and he says "we are not going to look that far back for you."

I said "Why am I being told this was going to be investigated further?" He "I don't know. I'm not going to go back that far!" (He is being rude at this point). So flipped out on him and told him to come get his ** out of my house and off my property. This isn't right that I am being charged for tv when I didn't have it! They said I would need to contact Dish and that they would enter comments that no signal and not able to offer service. I contact Dish, tell them they have no signal and CSR (Customer Service Rep) says it is not my fault and they will terminate my contract and that I would not be charged an early termination fee.

I also give them new address again, so they can send box to return equipment. I bet you can guess what happens next. I get a bill for early termination video for $ 120.00 and a week has gone by and no box to send equipment back either. I call CSR and of course they say, "OH let me take care of this matter for you." What happened to the guy last week that entered everything and said early termination is waived because we can't provide you service? This is so typical. The new bill also has my new address, but they send box to old address. Of course they do. Guy on phone last week say, "You have 30 days to return equipment or you will be charged for each item." So of course they say sorry, looks like box was sent to old address.

Does their system actually work when they make changes? In this case Dish Network let me down because instead of sending 2 guys to my new address, you would think their system would know there is no signal in this area. I do not wonder anymore the reason everything cost so much. End of story. They claim they will waive early termination and send box to new address. Was all this necessary? If the owners of the company knew how many paid hours were wasted on this 1 customer, they could make more profit in the end.

Brian in customer care will promise to help, but never follow through. As of today we owe 300 to DirecTV, have another 50 in dump fees (for a dish they dropped off and said it was ours. Serial number didn't match), still have not seen the two $50.00 visa cards they promised (f.y.i. there is a three dollar charge to get them) so beware. Bad company.

The internet is the worst than any country on earth!!! If it is cloudy the internet will not work. Why offer a service Dish cannot support? Then if you want to cancel there is cancellation fee! The service is terrible... If any person wants to get work done, you can forget about it. I am paying for a service that I hardly use because I'll get frustrated and end up going to use a friend's internet. Paying for a service that I cannot use! Please do not sign a contract with Dish. Two years of STRESS or pay CANCELLATION FEE!!!

When I inquired about Dish service in my new apartment in December 2013, I asked the representative if the service included internet service along with programming. The foreign voice came back, "yes we do!" I signed up for the service. A few days later, the serviceman implied that is a marketing tool to get customers, and I would not be able to get internet service in my area. I had to pay for another device, WHICH would have been cheaper and without contract for both services.

Now... I moved and still had a year on my contract. I asked if I could end the contract, and the Admin fee to terminate was OBSCENE. In the 500 dollar ballpark! This is for an intangible item! I was also told, and I have this saved as a file from the chat with the rep that I was paying for equipment fees, but I would own that at the end of contract, hence the reason I was still paying a fortune. Adding up the time I wasn't using the service, I paid the company approximately 720 dollars... after I asked to somehow cancel my contract!

All the representative offered me was a lesser package which was still approx 50 a month with fees and taxes. It just doesn't make sense. Coming to the end of the contract, they now want their equipment, and I said, “Well, then come and attain your equipment, it's been sitting here for over a year, unused, even though it is mine.” The reply was, “oh no, we need you to bring it to a UPS carrier store and ship it to us.” I was livid. After complaining I was sent a box the size of 8x5x10" for all equipment.

I have a Hoper and a Joey. Who is the person that engineered that packaging concept??? Anyhow, I would NEVER recommend the service to ANYONE, especially with FIOS coming available soon to remote areas. Bad reception in storms, poor representation, and sly contract enhancements to cover their misappropriated conduct toward their consumers has left me to give DISH Network a less than zero mark for business practices. Just look at all of the lawsuits and complaints filed against this company. I would love to have a refund, retroactive to the time I asked them to terminate my service. That would seem fair. However, they are nowhere near fair.

My son called Dish to ask them about their internet service and cable bundle and while the cable would have sufficed we were explained to, in the rep's words "our internet would absolutely not provide online streaming of gaming and/or movies." (We live in a small town in Nebraska so it is understandable.) My son tried to tell him that because we particularly want a stronger internet service this would not be for us. The rep continued to talk over every word he said eventually causing him to hang up the phone. The rep immediately called back and we ignored it (the first 3 times). Then when he called yet again my son answered and tried to explain why he had hung up and the rep once again pitched his sale rather this time stating "you called me and wanted our service and I am trying to give it to you." We asked him to stop calling back because even if we wanted the service, it would not work for us the way we need.

Of course the rep has to interrupt and overspeak and at this point we hung up again. Now the next time the rep called back we asked him to please stop calling because not only is the phone borrowed but the service has gone from insufficient to UNWANTED. The rep says "You obviously don't understand what bandwidth is and how it works and maybe if you would listen you could." Now at this point (feeling greatly insulted as we do understand quite well what bandwidth is) we are letting him know that he is being insulting and he continued to talk over us and be rude about this whole this. We told him that we have already asked him to stop calling back not once not twice but then again we should not have to ask every time. We also told him that even if the service would suffice, we would not want to join dish after an experience like this. Hung up. He called again.

This time I had to argue with him just to get a supervisor because he insisted on talking more about cable and refused to allow me to speak with whoever was in charge. I finally did get a supervisor and exclaimed that I did not want to go through the whole thing again and just wanted the call backs to stop (7 total) because we have asked for it to stop and it's getting to be a serious problem, 7! The supervisor promptly stated they will not continue and thanked me for the time. The calls stopped.

The next day however we get a call back once more stating that my son had called and asked for assistance which he had not because not only did I not have my phone all day but my son was not even with me to use my phone at any point and I was able to verify this through my call log. Now at this point feeling completely insulted and like dish has a "who cares" attitude we will not be signing up of course but it all turned into harassment and is ongoing...

One Saturday morning about two months ago a "nice" man came to my front door touting the benefits of DISH TV and sold me on switching from my current provider Charter Cable. This turned out to be a big mistake, a very big mistake. Dish turned out to be one of the shadiest companies I've ever been involved with. Don't believe a thing they tell you! After the first 20-30 days I contacted them to complain about the dvr service I had and the rep I chatted with told me no problem - I would be upgraded to their best dvr, the Hopper. I asked if this would cost me and she replied, no only my monthly bill would go up a few dollars. (I have this conversation about this printed out.) I said ok and the appointment was set for a tech to bring out the new equipment. As it turns out, the equipment was new and so was the tech they sent out. He told us he was just ten days out of DISH school and we were his seventh "job".

Long story short, he was at our place over four hours and ended cutting our landline and internet cable. We were out of service on these two things until late the next day, when Charter came out ($45 charge) and repaired the damage. To make matters worse, two weeks later a $100 was added to our bill for upgrading my dvr to a hopper! Say what?? I contacted them again and after a "dramatic" apology was told that that charge would be waived. Wow, what a great company, right!!? NOT.

It goes on and on and I could too, but I've already wasted too much of my life with DISH Network, so I am stopping here. I called today and canceled my service! (It felt like an exorcism.) They are charging me $480 early cancellation fee and are going to charge me shipping fees to return their equipment! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I made the mistake, hopefully you won't!

I am almost seventy years old on a retirement income. Recently I had some problems with my internet/cable provider and decided to shop around for a better deal. I called Internet & Phone | MyDISH | DISH Customer Support and talked to one of their sales representatives. The gentleman explained a plan that had all the features of my current plan plus extras at a fraction of the price. The only catch, after it was installed, I had a period of ten days to cancel. If however I was satisfied with the plan I was locked into this "low" rate for two years. I never saw any contracts. I didn't sign anything at the time. All I did was give this person a credit card number and arrange for an installation.

The installation people came out a few days later, installed everything which took most of the day. Upon leaving the guy wanted me to initial a screen with my finger. I asked him what for. He said that it was verification he was there and installed the product. This did not seem unusual. I have initialed similar screens for plumbers & electricians. No sooner did the installer leave the house & I tried the new internet and cable out did I realize what a mistake I had made. Instead of high speed internet Dish's connection speed is like turning back the clock to old fashioned dial up. I was also hit with a stinger that I had only so many gigabytes per month & once that was extinguished I would be charged extra.

I do photography as a hobby. My partner is into genealogy & spends lots of hours on ancestry.com. With the type of things we use the net for it wouldn't take long to exhaust the gigabyte monthly allowance. Also the speed with Dish is so slow it takes forever for pages to load or do anything. There are also problems with the television service. Half the time you have to play around with the remote for ten to fifteen minutes to get the television to come on. Also, I was told the "dish" installed was going to be small and hardly noticeable. What dish installed on the roof top is monstrous & unsightly. Looks like something a kid put together with an erector set from the 1950s. It is a positive eye sore.

After three hours of the product and finding out it was not what I had been told it was I immediately called Dish and told them I was unhappy with their product & I wanted to disconnect as I was still in this ten day grace period. The person I talked to told me there wasn't a grace period. The only way I could get out of the deal was to pay them a thousand dollars up front. They claimed this initialing a screen for the technician being there was actually a contract.

In all honesty - I never saw a contract. No one ever sent me one either. But hours later all these emails arrived with all sorts of fine print. I have saved the emails. If indeed they were contractual they were sent after the fact. I never saw a contract. Nor was a contract explained. Nor did the installation person tell me by initializing the screen I was signing a contract. The guy asked for an account number. At that time Dish had never provided me with an account number. The only communication I ever had with them was with their sales people in a phone call. The guy on the phone from "Dish" was nasty - threatened me with lawsuits. The first thing I did was call my bank's 24 hr number and had a block put on the credit card, so these people cannot get my money.

I am normally not a dumb person but I feel very, very vulnerable about now. I feel like a rape victim must feel. I am also scared these people are going to harass me. I am not in the best of health on top of everything else & currently under a Dr.'s care for a variety of ailments. All I want at this point is for these people to take their equipment & get out of my life. I didn't have it for anymore than a few hours at most when I discovered the product had been misrepresented. Immediately I called "Dish", told them I was unhappy & since we were still in this grace period I wanted to end the thing. That's when they hit me with this crap that there wasn't a grace period & I had signed some sort of agreement I have never seen other than hearsay on the phone & dated emails after the fact. (I have saved the emails.)

This review is for the DISH Network signup and installation process. I signed up for DISH online and at the last minute. I was on hold with DirecTV for the fourteenth time after they missed an installation window, and DISH was able to not only set me up with no issue, but also schedule my install early the next business day - a holiday no less.

The installer was right on time and was very friendly. He quickly suggested some good install places and had both the dish and the cabling run within 30 mins - both barely noticeable in our living room and patio. Another hour later he had our various DVRs, TVs, remotes, programming set up. He did provide some up-sells (which we did not take) but was gracious about us just taking the programming and equipment we originally had and left ahead of schedule. We've only been using it for a couple of days, but so far the service had been rock-solid. Again, this is for new order/installation, but for just that the service has been good and the value is even better than DirecTV - in that we didn't get nickel and dimed over each TV, wireless setup, etc.

To be honest, I'm very surprised by all the 1-star ratings for DISH while the DirecTV reviews are majority 5-star. I can't help but notice the 1-star ratings on DISH are all thorough (which seems reasonable) while DirecTV's 5-stars are all one-liners that look like they were dashed off or input from other sources. I would expect services to be roughly the same and the notion (from my experience) that DirecTV was all positive while DISH was all negative is, frankly, laughable.

I was calling to pay 142.00 and that I realized the receiver was there that I would send it in but they said they had to have the full payment before I could have service on. I was a previous Dish customer that went on a suspended account status. Which means you pay $33 and change to keep your account up to date with your contract until you finally move into your new home. Well after I was all moved in I called Dish to come and do an install. After the install was completed, we pointed out to the technician the gaping holes he made to our office. He somehow missed and drilled holes in the ceiling, completely ripped out the cable socket in the wall, moved our decorative pieces off and cut a hole to install a cable outlet, there is a lot more. I called dish to complain, and see what they were gonna do. I was told that they would send someone to fix it. Well in the meantime they lost one of their station contacts, and we could not watch our favorite TV shows.

So after a bunch of back and forth I decided to cancel my service 5 days later. Still no one has been out to look at the house except I was told to cancel, it would cost 450.00, and I had to speak to a manager. So after being on hold then getting hung up going back and forth over a bill they want me to pay and there is at least 2000.00 in damages to my house. I was told I have to pay the cancelation fee and it's 582. after they attach on all their fees. It really sucks that they can do whatever they want to the people. It's much harder for us to fight back and would cost more than their stupid fees to get a resolution.

At this point they still have not cancelled my account. Today I called (4th call over 3 months) and was told I owe a pro-rated bill from 8/15. No mention of an early termination fee because I had resolved this earlier. I said, "No I cancelled and gave you a copy of my husband's orders in 7/15". They said I rented a movie yesterday (what?). On hold again and she comes back and says, "Ok we will not charge you the prorated bill from 8/15 but we are charging the early cancellation."

I said, "No you have my husband's orders and have already told me that was taken care of." On hold again and she comes back and says, "We need your marriage license because you are the account holder not your husband." I refused to accept this and kept asking for the supervisor. After going over this with 3 different acct specialist we finally get to one who eventually hangs up on us. My question is, if my husband is not an account holder and when I call the 800 number and it recognizes MY phone number then why are they calling my husband’s phone daily? They haven't called ME once. Also I had to cancel a credit card in order for them to not auto-draft anymore. I just want this horrible shady company to cancel our account as promised 3 months ago. I was just considering becoming a customer. I saw numerous TV ads for $49.95. I have had cable all along. To my surprise during interview with them and supplying sensitive info, they inform me of an old bill for $759.30. Impossible. I was NEVER a customer. Then I recalled that while at my son's house in 2010, he was ordering service but when it came to the part that they needed a debit, he was awaiting one in the mail to replace his old and the Sales Rep asked if there was anyone else with a card and eventually led to me being placed on the phone.

The issue was on scheduling an installation date that if they had any valid card for the Application Fee that they could schedule installation within 2 weeks, otherwise it could be 4 wks or more to get an installer out there as my son lived rurally near town. The Sales Rep made it clear that he would put through a one-time-only charge as my son would give me the cash for the amount and that all my son had to do was call in his new card when it arrived and that they would post his card to the account.

He did this and they did change it to his card in a week. I made it clear to that Sales Rep that I was NOT to be the customer nor responsible for the account and that I was only willing to lend payment for the initial one fee and nothing more. He agreed and promised me that was the only charge I would ever have on my card. Well my son did have some issues with installation and something that prevented the dish from working after it was installed as there had been a power surge at a nearby telephone pole due to a truck accident. Dish was called to come and fix or replace equipment as it didn't work. After 2 months of waiting for his repairman and having NO Service at all, my son canceled his account and demanded 2 months payments back as he had no service those months.

After numerous telephone battles they relented and canceled his bill and credited him back his money and let him out of his 1 yr agreement. Case was supposed to be closed and over with. A few months later out of the blue my bank account was hit for over $385 for no reason other than they lied and kept my numbers on file after promising when I had lent my number. It was a one time deal only. Hence I contact my son from my home in another state and let him know what happened and another telephone battle ensued with Dish that he no longer had service with them and didn't want service with them and that they had no right charging my debit card as it was not my account nor was I on the account beyond lending means of Application Fee. One time payment and subsequent payments were from his own bank account.

That happened around 2011-12. Matter was resolved or so I thought. Fast forward. I didn't remember if it was Dish or DirecTV but I see ad on TV for locked in $49.95 month 2 yr agreement. I have cable and own my house for 4 yrs [paid off no mtg] plus all my own bills are up to date and I have no credit bills as I live within my means. I decided I wanted to try Dish and cancel my cable. I went to website. After giving personal info being assured it's secure, they ask me to call a phone number for further processing. Once on the phone with a live rep, I am informed there is an old bill of amount $759.30.

I tell the lady "IMPOSSIBLE". I was never a customer. Then I think of that incident in 2010 and the hassles my son had with a satellite company and assume that was the reason but also knew that was an argument about ending a 1 yr agreement due to lack of service for 2 months and waiting too long for a repairman that was resolved and his name was cleared. Seems what some dimwit did was cleared his name as they were instructed to do but still had not deleted my card number from their files and instead of zeroing out a virtually generated bill for services never received, they tacked the bill to my card number and conveniently placed it against me and I was never their customer.

So here I am talking to a live rep who is informing me that there is a bill over 5 yrs old that I owe. I disagree. I was never a customer. I heard my son when he spoke to them. I also know what I said to original rep and what he assured me of that it was a one-time payment only and that my name was not on the account.

So how does Dish get away with this?? They said after the 2nd debacle that it was the independent contractor that initially took the order and must have put my info into the wrong boxes and while that man yessed me to death, that the account was not going in my name and that he understood my card was merely a one time payment so they could schedule an installer within 2 wks, that Dish says it was his fault not theirs.

Ok I could almost understand that however, how did he get them to put all the written bills in my son's name as it was supposed to be when the online application was filed and how is it that the Dish customer Service number 2 wks later took my son's new debit card number and assured him my number was removed from their system as I insisted it was a one time use only for the installation schedule? HOW is it that several months later they again took money from my account during his cancellation and now 5 yrs or more later is trying to tell me of another amount nearly double the previous that I am now having held against me?

The Dish Rep tells me to file identity theft charges and to send them copies of my driver's license, current and former address, proofs and more things they have been attaching now to my identity they have on file along with my old debit card and seems to me they are building counterfeit verification to pretend I ever ordered from them several years ago. That means it's Dish that is the identity thief as they looted my old bank account which caused me to cancel that card and later on after they assured my son that his account was cleared. They did clear his unfounded debt due to their lack of service for the months they charged him for and the case was supposedly close, that they instead transferred that phony debt to my name and I was never a customer!

Today I asked them for that so called account number and they would not give it to me but told me to make a police report of identity theft for the time in question over 5 years ago and I have none of that information or actual times it supposedly happened. They tell me to send them a copy of my driver's license and asked me for my social security number which I did give them that before I knew this matter existed as I was about to order service from them. Now they have whatever their fabricated bill was and they have my social now which they never had before as I was never their customer before. This is very frustrating. I could care less about getting their TV deal but don’t like that they fraudulently put something on my credit report that should not be there.

They then told me that I would receive a refund once more, that it would be another 2 months or that I could have it deposited into my account that I had used to pay my monthly bill. But that could take some time as well because they would have to wait to make sure the funds would clear the bank. Really??? They tried to insult my intelligence by saying maybe I gave someone else access to my personal business to pay my bill for me or maybe someone was in my home and saw the disconnect notice on the phone and took it upon their selves to pay a close to $500.00 bill. No way would I ever do that.

They ROBBED ME BEFORE AND THEY ROBBED ME AGAIN. AS SOON as this contract is up I'm done. Subscribed to DirecTV in October 2104 and signed a two years contract, only to find out that the reception goes out every time there is a storm or lightning. Since I live in Orlando Florida (lightning capital of the world), service constantly gets interrupted. Called to complain but they say they are sorry but dish service is subject to weather conditions, however they failed to mention this at the time of signing the contract. Now stuck with a contract paying full price without getting full service. Worst company ever worst service ever. Do not fall for the empty promises of excellent service B.S.

When I signed on with Dish Network, I think it was in June, the representative said I would receive a $50 Visa gift card. It has been more than two months now, and I have not received it. When I called to inquire, the representative said it was applied as a credit toward my account. I told them that my account information does not confirm that. Further, I reminded her (the representative) that the commitment was for a gift card, not a credit to my account.

Finally, after calling about four times regarding this issue, I was told that a gift card will be mailed to me, however, because it can take up to two months before I receive it. I may consider applying the gift card as a credit to my account. I agreed to the credit. I was told the credit would appear on my account within 24 to 48 hours. I checked my account after 24 hours. I saw only a ten dollar credit. The total of the credit was $48.00, but I already had a $38.43 credit because in August, I paid my bill twice, in error. So the bottom line is, DirecTV is reneging on its promise to issue a $50.00 gift card, but I will not let this die. Pennywise and pound foolish, I can take my business to DirecTV or Cox. I did not sign up for this crap.

After informing Dish that I would be discontinuing my service after my one year promotion was scheduled to end, I have suffered nothing but harassment. My service has been terrible ever since. My service goes out when the weather is still perfect outside, so it is not due to the weather; it is deliberate. I was also threatened about my credit since I chose to end my two year contract and pay the early termination fee of $240 (12 months times $20). I consistently need to reset my device in order to get it to work. None of this happened prior to me informing them that I would be discontinuing my service.

Their increase after the one year promotion was over $60. After threatening my credit, and bargaining, they offered me three additional months at the same price after they spoke to their so-called supervisor. When I told them that I was still going to disconnect, they offered me nine months at the promotional price. But after hearing how they were going to raise my rates by $60, and threatening my credit, I decided that I would still disconnect and pay the early termination fee. They would have received $80 times 12 months ($960) of payment and a possible continuation beyond. They chose to take less $240 over $960+ dollars and disrupt my service. Their loss will be more because I have, and will continue to inform anyone that I know not to use DISH. I feel that DISH is the worst service provider of any product that I have every dealt with in my 54 years on earth. After 20 years in the military, I deserve better. I served so that they could live in comfort.

We were without service for much of this day, but I have a new provider coming in two days from now. Thank goodness I have Internet service with another provider. They also told me that I needed to pay to send their equipment back to them and they would leave their ugly equipment in my yard. They put the ugly equipment in my yard and should remove it for free. They want the equipment to stay for advertisement. It will be at the roadside in two days. If the wind thinks about blowing hard, the service would go out. Numerous calls to customer service never yield any fruit. They have even dropped channels that encouraged me to join their service. Shouldn't that allow a person to opt out of the contract? I will now start searching for class action lawsuits against the company.

May 2015 I sold my house. Dish customer service said the TV can be put on pause, but not internet. I said "then I don't want the internet service". Several months later I'm getting bills for over $600! Of course I called and was told I had failed to pay my internet bill and failed to return the equipment. Strange and disturbing!!! Why would I return equipment if it's on pause? They said I failed to pay my internet bill, my accounts were canceled and boxes sent for return of equipment. I repeated I DO NOT live at that address anymore and asked WHY would they send boxes there? In short, they don't care. I sent the equipment back and then they charged my credit card $495. I asked why was I charged this?

They said because I haven't returned the equipment and have to pay for it, but if they receive it they will refund my money. I'm still waiting. In short, the warning is, NEVER give Dish Network your credit card or bank account numbers. I highly suggest never sign a contract with them either. Dish Network will always be very friendly and nice like a long lost friend or relative, UNTIL they get you to sign the contract. After that, go screw yourself.

For the entire length of time I had Dish it was nothing but frustration. Every month the bill was incorrect, naturally to their good. Every month I would spend from an hour to two hours on the phone trying to get things straightened out, with promises that things would be made right. Having funds taken automatically, I had little control of what was going to Dish. The next month's bill was always going to fix the problem but never did. I finally paid over $400 just to get rid of them and the frustration.

Just a small list of problems with my experience: was lied to about Internet service that was so bad Dish did agree to take it out without the fee, small amounts of rain would take out TV for up to 30 minutes, was lied to repeatedly from reps that I spoke to on phone, was given direct line numbers to call for further problems but after leaving many messages no one ever called back, the monthly charges were almost always twice as much as I was told they would be. When I took the box to UPS to return receiver, the clerk told me to be sure and keep my tracking number as Dish is really bad about saying they never received the return. Dish is just not a reputable company to do business with.

Had the most horrible experience again with Dish Network. I don't know where to begin, why I am still with this company is the bigger question. I was charged twice for the one check I paid my bill with. Instead of Dish taking one payment, their system charged it twice but I got one confirmation number. I am trying to resolve this and was told that it will take them 72 hours to get a fax that my bank sent them in 5 minutes.

If my bank can expedite a fax in 5 minutes, why is it going to take Dish 72 hours before they can get this fax? And then they have the nerve to ask to pay another $348.00 to clear the account when I have already paid this to them by them cashing one check twice, which adds up to the amount they are asking for me to pay. I want someone to do something. I know that someone understands this situation from a consumer's point of view. Sometimes I feel that we do not matter and that if we do not pay our bills on time, we get penalized, but we still pay, and this is the situation I am dealing with right now. And no one on the Dish side is listening to me or even my bank for that matter. They have proof that two checks were taken out and they submitted that to them but no one at Dish act like they care because they do not.

Dish installed on 8/15/15. In 2 or 3 days it rained. No thunder or lightning, just a light to moderate shower. Lost signal much to my surprise. I commented to my husband our DirecTV would not have gone out in this kind of rain. Then about 2 days later the bedroom TV had only audio nothing but snow on screen. I called tech support and was able to get it working. On 8/23/15 in the very early morning we had a real thunderstorm and lost power for almost 6 hrs. When I tried to watch TV in the early afternoon... nothing. Only an orange light on the DVR and no signal. Another call to tech support and no success in getting a signal. I told them I was very unhappy with my service that I had to contact them 3 times in the first week of service. Of course, I had to talk with someone out of the country and as usual, they read from their script. They determined my receiver was defective (ya think?) and a tech would be here on Monday 8/24/15.

I said OK, then after some thought I decided No, I'm done with Dish so I called and cancelled the tech and called customer service to cancel service. Of course they wanted to rectify the problem and I declined and was told I'd have to pay $480 to cancel and I vehemently refused for only a few days of questionable service. I told the guy they could sue me or whatever but I would not pay. I hung up on him and called my bank and got my debit card cancelled immediately before they could charge it. During my conversation I asked why my bill was $80 and not the $57 promised. He said "You were charged $29.95 for a surge protector, were you not told?" No, I said and I see no evidence of one. Another fraudulent charge?

When I called on 8/23/15 when I had no signal they tried to blame the storm/power outage for the receiver failure, I said "Well that's odd, it didn't fry my surround sound, DVD or VHS and they were all plugged in the same power strip." Guess that $29.95 surge protector didn't do it's job. This company needs to be prevented from doing business. It is nothing but a scam. Please, NEVER sign with Dish.

Updated 8/25/2015 - So, I spent a couple of hours this morning trying to find someplace to return my Dish equipment in person so I could have absolute proof it was returned. Apparently, that's not possible so I was forced to contact customer service. I got a man with an Indian accent who informed me my acct was NOT cancelled and I told him I had cancelled it yesterday. Then I was transferred to Brenda in cancellations dept, who as I expected tried to convince me to stay with Dish. I said there was nothing that would make me stay. I was then told if I had 3 visits at my home by a tech and my issue was unresolved Dish would have waived my termination fee. I told her you get a different story from each person you speak with at Dish and nothing could be believed.

I told her I would ship my equipment back myself, in the original box the installer left. She had to put me on hold to get the address to ship and I knew when she told me the city to ship to that she was likely not in America either, since she mispronounced El Paso. Tomorrow I will return their substandard equipment at my expense just to be finished with them. I told her that Dish had done terrible things to people and they are greedy and dishonest and she should be ashamed to work for them.

The first thing they did that I had reversed is charging my credit card the $333 without my approval. I went through my credit card company to get that reversed.

The second thing they did was to place the charge on my credit card as delinquent. I believe it should be spelled out in the contract more clearly that if you move and you are in a situation where you cannot continue service, you will be charged for an early contract exit. In talking with the customer service representatives, they are ruthless. Wonder why you are getting overdraft charges in your bank account? PAY CLOSE ATTENTION as They will also start to charge you for additional taxes or fees they find appropriate. Every time I deal with this company regarding billing discrepancies they try to tell me a promotion ended. I had auto payment due to the extra $10 discount, which I later found out was not a discount. Again deceptive practices. On Aug 6th 2015, I paid my bill early out of a separate checking account. On Aug 7th 2015 my account was auto drafted even though I had paid the bill in full the previous day. I was unaware of the double payment until Aug 10th then I contacted Dish Network. After being transferred several times, I was told my payment would be refunded within 7-10 days. Today on Aug 20th 2015 (the 10th day), I still did not have my refund of nearly $200.

After speaking with 4 different reps for over 35 minutes, I was told that my refund had not been approved and I would not have my money for 23 more days, due to mailing the refund to my address. This is absolutely absurd. I was punished for paying my bill early and I was incorrectly told by representatives that I would have my money within 10 days. However that was not the truth. Then I could not get my refund expedited but I could get a small credit on my next month’s bill. After complaining to management, I stated that I would cancel my service, because obviously Dish Network doesn't care about their customers. I have bills to pay and groceries to buy for my family. I could not afford a $400 Dish Network bill for the month of August.

After arguing with the rep for several minutes, she wanted to inform me that I shouldn't cancel. I'm not arguing anymore. I couldn't get my refund timely and then I couldn't even cancel my service. This is a terrible business practice and I'm surprised they still have customers. Also I refused to pay the full cancellation fee due to the fact that you still have my $195.62 that has not been refunded. I have complained to dish network nearly every month of service because of Dish's mistakes. I'm tired of dealing with poor customer service and outrageous bills. I have canceled my service today. I have complained before and nothing has improved. Also while I'm taking the time to write, I was very upset that Dish was going to cancel Channel 7 (KATV News). The service men always give us the same script... takes hours to fix the issue, only last for maybe a day then gives back out. We have been FORCED to turn to Netflix and online streaming for any actual TV enjoyment. Why do we even pay for this service? I mean as much as we "LOVE" seeing this attention screen, this is seriously the worst. This is 2015 and we can't even get a steady connection to a satellite. Then of course once we call for help the story gets even better.

We waited 10 mins to actually speak with someone, still looking at the attention screen, then can't even understand what the person is saying with the thick accents. I have actually been recording the conversations for my records on our "agreements" made by them. The fact I even have to record the conversations for our protection is an absolute joke. Dish network killed my puppy. I HAD a full blood, red nose, 8 week old pit bull puppy. He was a sweetie. His best buddy was a 7 month old German Shepard mix and a 10 week old kitten. He stayed indoors most of the time but we went outside to play and for him to use the bathroom. Now he's gone because of a grossly negligent Dish Network tech/driver. I live in the last house on a dead end drive, surrounded by woods on 3 sides, and I have no trespassing signs posted around my property. One sign is posted about 50 ft before you get to my driveway where it can be seen BEFORE coming onto my property.

On this dead end there are 3 driveways before mine. The house closest to my no trespassing sign is empty, so people can turn around in that driveway in order to not trespass on my property. I'm explaining the location so you understand why this shouldn't have happened. Monday afternoon I took my puppy out to do his business. I went inside and within a few minutes I heard a vehicle so I looked out my window and saw a Dish Network van pull into my drive, back out then he ran over/hit/killed my puppy then sped off. I do not have any Dish services, not Dish Network or any other provider and I don't want any Dish services. Due to these facts that I have no Dish services, I have no trespassing signs at my property lines and I live at the end of a dead end drive surrounded by woods, Dish Network had no business on my property.

My puppy wasn't killed because I was irresponsible and let him run the neighborhood, He was killed on his own/my property by the Dish Network van and its driver (who had no business there) and it happened so quick that there was nothing I could do but watch. After I gained my composure (from checking my pup hoping he was ok just to confirm he wasn't) I called Dish Network and I filed a police report. Once I finally reached a person to speak to at Dish Network and explained what happened the person transferred me back to automated services. This actually happened a few times before a man transferred me to a lady in the complaint department.

The lady wasn't very helpful. She took down my information, basically told me there was nothing Dish could do, then told me I'd be contacted later. After hanging up with her I proceeded to email Dish Network's corporate office and their representing attorney to tell them. The following day a man named Luke called me concerning my email. He took my information and told me another company services my area. Regardless of the service area, I SAW IT ALL with my own eyes and it was definitely a Dish Network van, which I told Luke. He told me he would give the info to his superiors and contact me later.

Before disconnecting, Luke gave me his direct phone number. It has been 5 days since the killing of my puppy, 4 since speaking to Luke and as of yet I've not been contacted again. I've seen a few complaints online about Dish Network's reckless technician/drivers. It's a sad world where our pets can't go outside in their own yard without being killed. Hopefully Dish Network addresses this situation before a child is run over by one of their technicians/drivers. Have not been offered any sort of compensation.

Well I did not get the channels I was told. I had about 5 channels; the rest were sales channels so I called, told them to disconnect. I unhooked Dish receiver and connected back to my ant. Got two bills within seven days - one $74, the other $57. Called them, told them I was not going to pay them. Was told they were sending shipping boxes and labels. Never received them.

Then dish charged my card $440. And $150. Called and argued with them. They said I had signed a contract which I had never signed or agreed to. Bank credited my account back then two months later the bank sent me letter - they found in favor of Dish because of documents provided. The documents are plainly forged by some Dish employee, so now I'm fighting with my bank again. So beware of both Bank of America and Dish Network.

I also have a bill from their in-house collections (Convergent) which she received the same day for the said $47.70. I sent Convergent a letter explaining ALL the problems my mother had with Dish and repeatedly telling them to cancel it. Approximately a week later my mother received a box from Dish to return the equipment and she ceased receiving any more notices. That is UNTIL last week when she received a COLLECTION notice from AFNI on behalf of Dish network in the amount of $66.35. THAT IS IT DISH NETWORK, now WE are COMING AFTER YOU!!! I called C. Service on 09/29/2013 to cancel my service. The guy on the line with an Indian accent told me that he will keep my account on hold or pause for a year, maybe I change my mind and come back to them, if not the account will be closed at the end of this year. I left the states for my trip and came back at the end of July 2014. I checked my receiver and my TV, and there were no service existed. Then when I was checking my Email on 08/17/2015 I found an Email from Dish telling me that I owe them $95.80. I contacted the C. Service as soon as I read the Email and explained all I mentioned here.

They claimed that they send me an Email telling me that they will activate the service again at the End of June. I checked my Email and this Email never received by me, because my Email account was full and rejecting all Email sent to me last 2 months. The company never try to contact me personally to inform me about activating my account, and insisting that these charges is valid and I have to pay it. I spoke with a supervisor, but he never helped me. Dish Network failed to contact me or inform me about a service I already canceled and never used, and they asked me to pay a balance of $63.00 for a service I never used. What a ripoff. I canceled my account completely with them, and will tell all my family and friends who had the service to cancel it. I will never do business with them again, and I think "Youtube" will destroy their company so soon.

I have been a long time customer of Dish Network. It's been about 8 years. When my wife and I built our house we got Dish installed. Have been very satisfied up until recently. A few months ago I made an appointment, mind you two weeks in advance, to get our satellite dish relocated due to adding on to the house. Took the day off work so I could be there. While waiting for the tech to come out I trenched the yard beside the foundation for the new cable. The tech arrives, tells me he can't set a new pole since he does not have any on his truck and that requires a different tech nor can he dig in my yard. Really?? Did they not understand what I was wanting to do? I said "fine, use the existing pole and I will dig the hole", which I did.

After I dug the hole while he was in his truck in the AC on his smartphone I dragged the cement laden pole to the new spot. I mean I spent a day of vacation on this. He's not leaving until I get what I wanted. He finishes his connections. Leaves tie wrap ends and cable insulation all in the yard and didn't even offer to cover up the trench with the new cable I had already dug. Fast forward to today. Tired of my phone DSL at a blazing .512 I did the chat thing on the Dish site to see about internet. I was told to call number A. I did. I talked with an overseas person I could hardly understand and vice versa. I asked what my download speed would be and the data cap. I was told the download speed would be 10 G. I repeated. Download speed.... she replied 10G. I said OK, think we are done here.

Called back. Same overseas accent. They said I need to call number B. I did. Was a 5 minute wait, "enter your number for a callback." I did. They called back. Same accent. Transferred me to a different department. That department (same accent) said I need to call number C. I did. Same as above. Left my number. They called back (same accent) transferred me again. That person said I need to call number D. At this point I am done. I am trying to give them money for extra services and it seems they can't even accomplish that. Good luck Dish Network!

I left DISH to go with another provider due to having so many problems with DISH Net's service and, most of all, their customer service people who answer their phones. I have been lied to, told dozens of different stories when there was a problem, transferred from one person to another, spent hours and hours on the phone, supposedly an issue would be resolved and noted, another problem would pop up, call in AGAIN and told they have no documentation of what had previously taken place, THEN promised by another customer service person that they have corrected the problem(s), hang up and end up still having problems.

In my entire life I have NEVER had such a horrible provider for cable. DISH Net customer service reps answer the phone and fill customers with lies, then say they value their customers; that is laughable. It is all over the Internet just how awful DISH Net's service is and it is also all over the internet how DISH Net has taken UNAUTHORIZED withdraws from their customers bank accounts.

I have NO CONTRACT with DISH Net. I told their horrible customer service reps I was DUMPING DISH Net for another provider because I have had enough. Their customer service is so bad that I reached a point I was not even calling in with all the problems with their service whatever for? To spend more hours and hours of my time being passed from one lying customer service rep to another to still be left with problems is ludicrous. The customer service reps and the company are so bad that it was impossible to even get a movie ordered correctly through customer service reps. Right in the middle of movies that were to be a 24-hour rental, BOOM, the movie shut off for no reason when it should not have. Ding-Dong. More calls to DISH about that, and every single time I called in about even THAT happening I was told a different story by every customer service rep I spoke with as to why it was happening.

I have written to corporate more than ONCE and it will not be the last if I receive any more threats of owing DISH Net for services I am not using AND I have NO CONTRACT I have ever signed. Right out of the gate when I made the horrible choice to use DISH it took half a dozen tech visits AND a manager out of Lenexa to TRY to get the service to work as it should during the first three to four months I was using DISH.

Today is the 14th of August, below is what I was sent and you better believe DISH Net has been blocked from doing to me what they have taken the liberty to do to others. DISH Net is a down and dirty company. I would not recommend DISH to anyone, and I am hoping this will alert others to BEWARE because below is exactly what I received in an E-mail from DISH:

"You are receiving this notice because you have incurred early termination fees on your DISH Network ("DISH") and/or dishNET accounts. Pursuant to your contracts, DISH will automatically debit your bank account or charge your debit/credit card for the DISH and/or dishNET cancellation fees on 08/14/2015 if you do not restart your account. As a subscriber of DISH and/or dishNET, you signed contracts with promotional agreements and you chose term commitments for a certain number of months. You further agreed that if you terminated your accounts with DISH and/or dishNET before the term you chose ended, that you would pay early termination fees comprised of the prorated amount set forth in your contracts multiplied by the number of months remaining in your term commitments.

Since you terminated your contracts before the end of the terms, DISH is now assessing your cancellation fees in the amount of $220.00 for your DISH account and $0.00 for your dishNET account. In your contracts, you authorized DISH to automatically charge the cancellation fees to the credit card or debit card that you initially gave to DISH when you qualified for OR opened your DISH and/or dishNET accounts. Please contact DISH at 800-333-DISH (800-333-3474) if you have any questions regarding this notice or would like to inquire about restarting your account."

Ridiculous! The only thing I ever signed was a paper stating one of their techs had to come out to my residence again... Contract? That is hardly a contract, that is nothing but a service call signature needed from a customer as proof a tech showed up to earn their paycheck from DISH Net. Be careful people... STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

They could not tell me why they took a 2nd unauthorized payment. I filed with the AG and got someone from their corporate named Anna that told me she would process a refund within 10 days and credit me my basic rate only for the month as an apology. She also stated that she would send me an audit of my account. 3 weeks later I have not seen a refund or an audit and continue to be billed. They told the AG it was handled. I corrected that information. We love the actual service but their billing and customer service is an absolute train wreck. Looking at other options now.

We called Dish 7 days ago, at the time we were looking for a satellite company we could get a great deal with. After speaking to numerous people and looking at the price plans available we pulled the trigger on Dish. The first installer came out the following day, installed wires running up and down my wall, left my other rooms a mess with wires running on my floor, also they installed the wrong receivers in the rooms. I got home from work late that evening and never paid attention to the wiring until the next morning. When I woke up the following day I was furious. These installers are suppose to be professionals, period. I don't care if their independent contractors because the company I signed a contract with sent those people to my home. This is the same if I owned a car lot and sent someone to deliver your car and it got totaled and you're stuck paying the bill.

I called Dish again and they sent someone else out. When the other tech got here he immediately told me that he wouldn't be going under the house that he doesn't do that. I ask him what he was doing at my home if he wasn't installing the wiring correctly. He told me they didn't have that on the work order. At this time I called back Dish to speak with the manager in the President's office. The manager told me to tell him to change the work order and to do the work. The 2nd installer finally agreed and fixed my wiring and changed the receiver. The next day I started recording shows. While I was recording my shows my kids came running, they're telling me their tv switched channels. Come to find out, you can only do 3 things at once, you can't do nothing else. I called Dish back again and told them that when we agreed to service they told us we could record up to 5 things at once and watch something different at the same time.

So they sent out another tech with more equipment yet again. The next day we woke up without service. We contact Ted Dish to figure out the issue. After 2 hours on the phone they told us someone tried to access our account suspiciously and they needed to build us another account and would have to run our credit and need another credit card. I told them "Hell No". I told them to come and get this equipment and that I was done. I finally got them to agree to waive the cancelation fees and recorded our whole conversation after informing them the call was being recorded. Dish is a nightmare, do not do business with them, Period.

It seems, of late, I have nothing but complaints regarding the services given to me by Centurytel & Dish Network. This is the 2nd letter in less than a month which I have felt the need to sit down and write. Having never written a complaint letter prior to that, I would hope whoever is reading this feels the frustration a normal, relatively sane, human being feels when dealing with large, uncaring companies such as DISH Network and Centurytel (Centurylink). This latest encounter went like the following:

On Friday, August 7, 2015, I telephoned DISH Network to have service re-established in my new location of **. I had placed my service with DISH on a "HOLD" pattern, having moved from one location to another. The HOLD pattern was for approximately 9 months. After being billed for service I hadn't been using, I decided to have the DISH service put into my business location (an office I have in the business) and explained such three (3) times to the individual at DISH whom I spoke with on Friday.

On Monday, August 10th, the technician shows up (late I might add), says no one had indicated on his work order that it was a place of business, didn't have the proper equipment to install (a 10 foot ladder and harness he said he would have to have in order to get on the roof), ran a cord over my doorstop and ended up leaving the television on, with the assurance he would return this morning (August 11th) and bring a ladder to finish the job. Having waited until 12:00 noon in hopes of his return, I telephoned DISH and was told (after speaking with first a representative) and secondly, a gentlemen who said he was an account specialist (Larry - Account Specialist I.D. **) in the Loyalty Department... that I was, according to their records, suppose to have a technician out on Friday, August 14th to complete my work order.

NEEDLESS TO SAY... I was, and am, livid. My frustration is exacerbated by the fact that there is very little a normal individual can do other than take the kind of treatment we are being shown by these companies. I can't cancel my contract with them, as I would have to pay exorbitant amounts to get out of the contract. I am held hostage by a company who simply doesn't care how they treat their customers. Is there nothing to be done? I beseech ConsumerAffairs to look into this and give we who are good-standing, well-paying, citizens some voice!

I set up service with DISH Network at 2527 Sue Lane in Copley. I set up a package including internet, was told my internet provider was Frontier. They provided me with a package price, Frontier set an installation date of July 30th. We waited the entire day with no show on Frontier. In fact my other home Frontier cancelled our appointment 7 separate times before we finally received service with DIRECT which we found out doesn't have a contract with DIRECT, so I got ripped off on a package with Frontier and DIRECTV also. This complaint deals with DISH Network whom said Frontier was their partner. Well Frontier never showed up to install internet, called after waiting and wasting a full day to find out my order disappeared.

I call Frontier network today 8-8-2015 to find out they do not offer service at my address after they told me 2 weeks ago they did and set up appointment that they never showed up for. Also called DISH Network to find out "NOW" that there are no internet service providers at my address. mThis whole situation is outright "LIES". It's wrong for these companies to outright lie to us customers to get us signed on a 24-month contract to find out that everything offered is not as promised. I now have DISH Network at the address, but no internet to function with the DISH Network as promised. This is a big scam, same goes for DIRECTV. These companies should be looked into for their illegal and false advertising and contracts. I ordered DISH as a package with internet to find out I have no internet available multiple weeks later.

Here is the kicker, I was told today the 8th by Frontier that they do not offer service at this address after they said they did 14 days ago, and DISH Network told me to continue calling back to find out when they will have internet availability. I asked when I should call back - tomorrow? In 3 days? in 2 weeks? When in the heck should I call back? Well these companies got you under as 24 month contract for their satellite but cannot accommodate the internet as promised. If they cannot provide everything as promised then I should not have to be responsible for a 24 month contract. If you do not have DISH OR DIRECT, the interesting fact is that you cannot use the hopper ETC. Without internet access, also cannot use movies or any of the other TV SERVICES. So what good are they? I'd like to get an answer and my contract reduced to month by mon. or something. This borderlined criminal. Thank you.

I have ordered DISH service on 7/29/15. During the order I have applied for High definition service. Prior to agreeing to the service I have asked a representative how is their HD quality and she has stated that I should expect better HD quality than any cable company could provide. I have previously used AT&T service, that had a great HD quality, therefore I was pleased with an answer. I have agreed to a two year contact. The rate of monthly payments was set at around $40 per month for the first year and I was charged a deposit for my receivers in the amount of $113.47. Installation date was set up for 8/5/15.

On 8/5/15 the technician has turned up and while we chatted prior to installation it turned out that he was sent to install non HD service, even when prior to agreeing to the contract I have specified that I am interested in HD only. Technician has phoned DISH customer service and they have agreed to instal HD option asking for an extra $50 deposit for a different receiver and increasing my monthly cost to about $50 a month. I have agreed. Technician took about three hours to instal the service and seemed helpful although in the end it turned out that he has installed the receiver that gave me HD service in living area only, but my TV in the bedroom was set to receive only low resolution image. I have explained the technician that once again it was installed not what was promised to me and he told me that he has no more time to fix the issue and that he has to go to a different client.

Prior to technician leaving I have also noticed that the service installed in the living area (supposedly HD) looked really pixelated, when I enquired about it, technician simply brushed it off, saying that HD Channels sometimes stream non HD content. Before leaving he asked me to sign the agreement and promised me to come back to reinstall things properly in the few days, so all I have to worry about is calling customer service and creating the second appointment.

On the same day 8/5/15 I have rang a customer service and explained what happened. The representative has insisted that it will cost me $400 to have technician come back and instal the service, that I was expecting. I have declined and pleaded to cancel the service, as what was promised to me wasn't delivered. Representative explained to me that I will have to pay cancellation fees of $480 plus some more equipment fees. I found that unreasonable as I have already paid $163.47 for the equipment that was unacceptable and service that was not the service promised. I couldn't understand why couldn't I get out of an agreement that the other side broke, taking in mind that I have only signed it 30 minutes prior to trying to get out of it.

After arguing with the representative for about 30 minutes I have broke down and said that I will have to take this to court. Once I said that, I was transferred to the manager who has agreed to send another technician to deliver the service that was promised to me to start with. It was agreed that no extra fees will be charged and even $50 dollars charged on the day for an equipment was to be credited to my account. The technician was to turn up on 10/08/15. I was to receive two HD receivers, one with DVR capacity. Also the pixelation issue was promised to be fixed, as high standard on an image promised was the primary reason me signing up with Dish services.

Even now I felt that I finally might receive the service, that I was promised, my monthly cost of contract was to increase to about $65 a month and somehow I would have two consecutive contracts running, making my termination fees even higher, would I like to leave. I will wait for the new equipment to be installed and see if HD quality can really be fixed, if not I am planning to take DISH to the small claims court, all of you should.

For over ten (10) years we had Dish Network for TV services. WE have since converted to over the air (OTA) using an antenna on our roof to obtain TV. OTA works fantastic! Drop the cable! Dish network kept adding channels - we ended up with the 500 package just to get the few channels we cared about. The business plan does not care - nor deal with current customer issues. The business plan is all about obtaining new customers. It does not matter how often the signal was lost (at least once a week for a day), nor that it was the company equipment that was a problem, the customer ends up being becoming their own service staff by over the phone (if you can find a phone number and get through to talk to a live body), but then deal with the hook up lines, etc.

Excuse me but if I wanted to be a service tech I would have become one. Then they kept raising the rates - for the same level of non-service. Finally we pulled the plug and had to disassemble the equipment ourselves - including the dish on top of our house to mail back to them in order to not be charged. DO NOT become a customer of this company. Once they have your money via a contract you are sunk! Major money pit!

On May 21, 2015 I ordered Dish Network's Bundle to replace HughesNet and DirecTV. I got tired of the yearly increases from Direct and the lack of the Internet Usage Time for Hughes. I told the sales person that I didn't care about the free package deal to just set me up with what I had with Direct, and after almost an hour with this young man, a supervisor had to come on the phone and offered me the package deal for $120.22 a month after paying a setup fee of 202.34.

The next month I got an email telling me that when my 90 day usage of the movie channels expired, I would have to pay an additional amount of money. I called Dish and after much wrangling, they agreed that my complaint was valid but they would have someone contact me to discuss my problem. That was 3 weeks ago! As of the 21st of this month my 90 days will be up and I believe they said I'd have to pay $55.00 more, which brings me to the amount I was paying Hughes and Direct. Why the hell would I cancel my other carriers if I couldn't get a better (as advertised) deal with Dish Network?

Updated on 01/04/2016: Five months ago I contacted Dish because I saw their ads for "beating others prices" plus they had the Internet. After nearly an hour of haggling with a salesperson (he was new) a supervisor came on the phone. I told him that I wished to have all the channels I had with DirecTV and to replace HughesNet or the "package deal." After explaining that I paid $130 to Direct and $50 to Hughes monthly, I wanted a better deal or it wasn't worth changing. He kept putting me on hold and finally came back and asked me how I felt about $122.02 per month. I had said I will forego the 3 free months of movies if he would give me what I would be paying for the next two years and this figure, $122.02 was what we settled on.

Six weeks later I got a message on my TV saying that my free movies would be up at the end of 90 days and my bill would go up. I called them and after much wrangling they agreed to give me another month of 122.02 and then my bill would go up to $179.02 (.98 less than my original bill, lol). December ended the 4 months and they went ahead with absolutely no further conversation and tagged my account for $231.62. Now you understand why I call them a Criminal Enterprise. They have absolutely no restrictions on the games they play to get into our incomes. I am retired and live on a fixed income and they just do not care. I know if I try to cancel their service, they will threaten to sue me and will harass me from now on. Do not use Dish Net if you want a fair deal. I will be going back to DirecTV.

Again same problem. If you ask for a supervisor they will advise none available. If you ask for key people - nothing. I even asked for their corp address and they refused to provide this simple request. Great customer service. The problem could be solved if Dish allowed customers to simply enter their current zip code in an app on their smartphone. But I guess this might be a little too easy.

I recently switched over to DISH Network for my cable Service from DirecTV due to high costs that I was no longer able to afford. Originally I thought Dish Network was relatively the same as DirecTV as far as their DVR Service not to mention their price was very reasonable. I signed up over a week ago and my service was just installed yesterday. However, when the technician got here I was informed that they could not install the satellite anywhere but in the front yard mounted to a pole due to the number of trees in my yard. He said that he could try to put it on the very front of my house on the very top peak but couldn't guarantee a signal and the best place is mounted to a tripod pole in my front yard. I asked the technician if he set it up on the temporary tripod if I could cancel it if I did not want it there and he said yes.

I told him to go ahead and leave it on the tripod and I will talk to my family when they got home and see what we would decide to do. When my family got home we all tried out the Dish Network Service and were highly disappointed in their DVR service, which is advertised as being able to use in all rooms but the reality you have to use it in one room to watch only and if you want to record you have to "steal" the box from the other room leaving whoever is in that room only able to watch what you're recording or giving them the option to turn off your recordings. With three TVs and three sets of people using the TVs/DVR this highly inconvenient. I called Dish Network 12 hours after setting up my Service and told them that their satellites do not work in my address and that I do not want their satellite tripod in my yard and if that is where it must stay then I would like to cancel.

I asked if there is a grace period in which I can cancel my services, as all honorable companies provide, and was informed that if I want to cancel my service that I was more than welcome to. However, I would be responsible for any early termination fees plus the contracted amount for each month that I have not completed, which is 2 years as I just signed up for the service yesterday. I'm extremely annoyed that I I'm being bullied into keeping a service that I don't want. I did schedule a technician to come out and see if they can mount their satellite anywhere else on the house, as if I'm going to be stuck with their service it will not be advertised in my front yard nor will I be bullied into ruining my yard for their crappy service.

Sadly if they tell me that is where their equipment must stay I have no choice but to cancel and then will have to deal with their ridiculous fees for early termination even though I tried to cancel the very next day after the service was installed And even though they know their service is not a good fit for my house. I will never sign up for Dish again and will highly discourage anyone I know from signing up for this service.

When I moved into my new home I was directed to DISH services as one of the two options for TV services. I called them and spoke to a young lady (yes I have her name and id) who explained the packages and I ended up choosing the HD whole house hopper system with the 2 year contract (because that was my only choice). She did state at that time that there was an early termination fee of $20 per month if I were to cancel for the remaining months of service. She stated that the price from the $65.99 monthly price for the first 12 months to $146 for the remaining 12 months. She stated that at that point I was supposed to call and the customer service department would work with me to offer discounts to get my price back down to "around" what I was paying previously.

We talked about the channels that I wanted specifically and the appropriate package was selected (mostly channels like Disney for my little one... not anything extra like movie channels). The 12-month mark comes around and the bill jumps up as she stated. I called as she instructed and was offered the lowest package available, basically no channels, no HD, and certainly none of the channels that enticed our family to sign up for DISH in the first place and the bill was still close to $100 per month with the minimum package. When I became upset about their offer they finally conceded to give me $15 off the $100 bill for three months. Wow. What a deal. Still paying $20 more for the half of the service. I told them that I would be terminating their services. They told me that it was my choice but they were going to charge me $260 for an early termination fee.

After that day another customer service rep called me trying to get me to come back, waiving the fee in front of me saying that they could extend the $15 off for 6 months and apologizing that who I had talked to couldn't have helped me more. Still did not seem like very good customer service and still paying more money for a lot less service. Now they are threatening to send me to collections if I don't set up a payment plan of $43.33 per month for 6 months to get the termination fee paid. I am so irrate. I will never work with DISH again, and I am sure to tell everyone not to get roped into their contract because they aren't truthful.
