Everything about Dish Network is absolutely AWFUL. I would advise you stay away from Dish at all costs! They were awful with installation... The service was awful... And even cancelation is extremely difficult. We had constant problems with the service and our DVR service simply never worked. They will never do anything to credit you or actually to make their service any better.
Getting through to an agent is really very difficult. If you need to call for anything, you will need to schedule about 2 hours of your time to do so. So then made the decision to cancel despite still being under their stupid contract. I contacted the company to cancel and was talked into putting the account on "pause". They still charge you over $5/month to not have their service during this time. When the maximum pause time ran out they sent a letter to tell me about the same day as service was reinstated not giving much time to do anything about it. I still called to cancel... it wasn't done.
I sent multiple emails to cancel... it wasn't done. I chatted twice with an agent and was VERY clear to cancel the account immediately... it wasn't. Granted during the very last chat about 2 months ago I was told that I would need to actually call in to cancel (which I had done previously) and I stated that I would not be calling - again as I already had months previous. I was notifying the company, yet again, that I wanted my account canceled and I was NOT going to spend hours on the phone to do it. I have recorded phone calls, copies of emails sent, and even screenshots of the chats where on multiple occasions I was very clear to cancel my account immediately - but it was NEVER DONE!
Today I get a bill for over $500 and notified service discontinued and boxes and return instructions for equipment was being sent. I'm happy that it's finally disconnected, but not happy about the bill or threats for collections! So I bit the bullet and called again tonight. After spending over an hour and half on the phone and speaking to 4 people - the last one claiming to be Ava from the "office of the president" - they will do nothing to reconcile this. I stated that I have no problem paying an early disconnect fee, as I had communicated this many times in the months previously... And I have not problem returning the equipment. But I have a HUGE problem paying a bill for over $500 for service that has not been accessed in over year. Specifically, I shouldn't have to pay for Dish service for the past 5 months following my many communications to cancel my service! I was just repeated the line that the charges were valid and there would be no negotiating.
I could negotiate with the collections company if I want to, but no other recourse. I repeatedly stated that I would be more than happy to email them right now the phone conversations, emails and screenshots of chats from months ago where I repeatedly asked to have my service canceled and was cut off and treated very rudely and just repeatedly told that the charges were valid and there would be no negotiating. How extremely ignorant and rude.
As a side note, it's ridiculous that they require a phone call to cancel services in this day and age and it's clearly just a way to make canceling difficult in a time where they are probably struggling trying to compete with Roku and streaming services in general. Seriously can't believe they couldn't agree to have me pay my early cancelation fee and return the equipment and call it good - particularly when I have multiple pieces of evidence proving that I communicated a cancelation of services months prior. STAY AWAY FROM DISH NETWORK - THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND!

With today being 5/13/2018, Dish Network has screwed up my new service install 3 times in the past week. The most aggravating was yesterday and today. According to Dish the tech was supposed to arrive yesterday between 12:45 and 1:30 pm per Dish. I didn't hear anything until 4:30-5:pm when the tech called. It was then too late for the day. It was agreed upon for a 8 am install for Sunday 5/13. Again another no call/no show this morning. After calling Dish's Customer Service and explaining that this was the 3rd screw up this week all they would do was to reschedule for tomorrow 5/14. They wouldn't do anything to make up for their screw ups. Is this any way to treat a new customer? Is any indication of future service. At this point in time Dish TV is just as bad as DirecTV.

Ever increasing bills for unwanted channel "additions" that are not requested nor watched. Piss poor customer service by overseas boiler room. Any good programming is becoming a "premium" selection after adding another political, infomercial, or news (read communist propaganda) channel. Stick with a coat hanger and an analog TV.

I am fairly satisfied with Dish. Weather interference has been minimal. I really love the Hopper system (used between my two tvs). My only problem is the lag time when switching programs on the second DVR. They have fairly good channel 'tiers' with one glaring exception; sports! It takes too many 'packages' to get adequate representation. They need to offer a dedicated sports package.

Stay with Spectrum. At least they are contract free. Dish scams you. The monthly amount changes from what they tell you. I’m feeling very sad to write you as I got my new Dish TV on 08/05/2018, the technician came to my home and installed DISH TV DTH. But getting the "101 Unauthorized Error". He tried for a while but not able to resolve the issue. He left away without resolving the issue saying that it is a back end issue and will get it resolved in 30 mins. It is not resolved on that day and again I contacted the customer care for the same, they arranged a technician to visit again on 09/05/2018. This time the technician replaced the Set Top box with VC # 02512710281, but this time getting the "102 Low Balance Error". He also left saying that it is a back end issue and will resolve it in 45 mins. Since 09/05/2018 I’m calling to the technician and he is not picking my call.
Again I called customer care three times and had a long conversation with senior operator Priya, saying that it is escalated to the technical dept. and immediately they will resolve the issue. Till now it didn’t resolved. Had completed 4 days by installing the Dish TV DTH and not able to get the picture. I’m not able to understand that if your customer support team and technical team is not able to resolve the issue how come the customer will trust the services by you. I asked the senior to either resolve the issue asap or repay my amount (Rs.1799) and get back their useless Dish Tv Set top box and antenna. She told that repayment of money is not possible, then I ask her to get the issue resolved immediately.
I’m now feeling very bad that I had done a very big mistake by choosing Dish TV. The technical team is fully irresponsible and not able to handle the issues at all. I don't know how DISH TV is handling the useless Technical team that are not able to resolve the single issue on time. Finally I decided If these people are not able to fix the issue, will go to the consumer court against DISH TV, so that I can get justice.

The Rep refused saying I had to pay my current rate for the duration of my contract before I was allowed to downgrade. When I tried to turn my service off the Rep said I had to pay for the return label and the box, each $17.00 plus my bill had to be paid in full, which included the next month's bill and a shut off fee of 2/3, or 66% of the balance of my contract BEFORE I could officially turn off my service. No other out of pocket expenses. If I need a service or repair, I'm accommodated quickly. If I need a repair or move the dish because of the growing trees, I can arrange for service the next day. They will also upgrade your receiver or other components while they are there, some without additional cost. My neighbor has DirecTV. I was very upset when several of the channels that I normally watched were pulled due to contract negotiations between Dish and the TV network. Since they couldn't find a way to come to terms together they pulled the network's shows from airing and said we should call the network to complain.
No. It's not the responsibility of the consumer to call and complain to a TV network that their show isn't on the air. We have no idea what their contracts say or how much money is at stake. We know nothing - just that we are paying for a service and not getting what we paid for. Dish should do better in their contract negotiations and not expect their paying customers to put pressure on the TV networks to make a compromise. Since I also had DirecTV at one time, I can attest that they also do this same thing... honestly this is a practice that has to stop.

I had DirecTV for years and, for some reason, decided to try Dish. Mostly it was price. I've had the equipment for about 10 months and have minor issues the entire time, but it wasn't enough to worry about so I just dealt with it. Suddenly, last month, both of my Hoppers started malfunctioning. When you press RW the will FF. When you FF, it should go thirty seconds, and will only go a few seconds, so it's almost useless. Pause does not work. While watching a recorded show, if I try to stop it, it says it's delayed live TV so the only way out is to put in a channel number. I've had multiple chats, and I'm told that it has been sent to engineers for resolution. When it first came up, they wanted to charge me $150 for the tech visit.
After complaining that it was their equipment, not mine, they said they would waive the fee. When the tech came, he did a reset that I could have done over the phone if someone wanted to be bothered to walk me through it, and it worked at first. He was gone not 10 minutes and it didn't work again. Then they charged me for the visit and I had to fight that. Then I had to fight to get $5 off the bill, twice. I don't watch live TV, so not having the DVR function correctly is a big deal to me. I'm very tempted to dump the service, and just pay the term fee. There is no estimated time for a fix as of today. This has been going on for over a month.

I started off with Dish on the wrong foot and should've taken that as a sign to go in the opposite direction by going elsewhere for my TV service. It took them 6 months and 6 visits to get my 4K Ultra HD service finally working, all at the cost of having them come out and the cost of paying for additional HDMI cables that I was told would be required in order for me to get premium HD quality programming. Sense the scams already?
The technicians were outsourced to other companies in Palm Springs but they won't tell you that until you finally get a Dish employee to come out and fix everything. Lesson learned. So when they finally get the service working properly, they make me sign a 2-yr. contract. I admit that was my fault for signing it, but I was seriously tired of fighting with them and was happy that it was finally working...ugh.
So, now we're a year into the contract and I called to cancel because I'm moving and no longer need their services in my new place. That's when it was sprung on me that I owed them $220 in cancellation fees. I went through the roof, my blood pressure shot up and I was ready for a fight. I was connected with "Julia **" (her identifier), who tried to sell me on additional services. I was like "you've got to be kidding me! You're going to try to get me to stay after you just had me bend over and take it like a man?" NO THANKS. She then made no additional attempts to sell me anything because I told her to save her breath.
Steer clear of the likes of this company. Go elsewhere since the competition is fighting for your business and will even pay for these fees that I'm paying, which I'm happy to let them do. I'm going to keep paying for service because TV is my only remaining vice; I would rather pay ANYONE aside from Julia **!!! Dish - your shady practices are going to catch up with you. I'm filing a complaint with the FCC and BBB. DISH has dependable service and informed customer service if you win the CSR lottery - otherwise it is a tedious script driven process. Good channel selection in the higher priced brackets but on-demand is downloaded by Internet and with a slow ISP, the on-demand movies are jerky and chopped up by frozen video screens. Generally there are no surprises and overall this is a pretty good choice.

They do lock you into a 2 Year contract so at this time all is well. However, I’m really close to that 2 year mark, so I’m curious to see how much of a raise they may raise my bill after my contract is up.

The signal is good unless it storms, that's common with any satellite service. I think it's more expensive than it's worth but I have no cable options. Customer service is poor, when you call with a problem, you get a non English speaking individual that you can't understand.

Dish Network gives you a real good rate when you first sign up, but then your bill goes up an unbelievable amount. If you drop down to a lesser package than you have hardly any good channels. Also the dish goes out even if the weather isn't that bad.

Dish is very professional when coming to the home and even cover their shoes which I appreciated very much. Service is good most usually, but when it snows you do have to go outside and sweep off the dish. Channels are not bad, but they could include a few more in the lowest package. Customer service is good to work with. The bill is the same each month with no surprise charges like some other providers.

I had Dish years ago, not a problem. Recently I switched from Xfinity to go to Dish, worse move I ever made, asked if they can kindly drop the early termination -they wouldn't do. TV is interrupted at 1 am, constantly freezing up and having to reboot the system, channels just go silent. Ridiculous. I'm paying more than I was with Xfinity package, the girl that signed me, lied about getting wifi through Xfinity, told me it would be 39.99. I said I am a customer still, will it be 39.99, oh it should be. Hell no, I'm having to pay 79.99, total of 124.00 then a Dish bill of 147.00. Paying 50 a month higher for less channels.
Dish is the worse, don't switch. 250 channels my **, mostly music and sports, and channels that have no English. Highly pissed. They said they reviewed tapes and girl did everything correct, well let me listen to them. No they won't, why because they don't have them. They want you to go to lower package, but they make sure 1 or 2 channels aren't in that package, so you have to add another. It's a joke, scam. And I'm paying more here than with Xfinity. I have no words that are nice for Dish, very crooked company. They bind you in a 2 yr contract because they know it's a shady contract and a joke. They need to be investigated, and customers need to be paid back.

I have been a loyal Dish customer for many years now. I am a sports fan and enjoy the many games that one could view on Dish Network. I subscribe to the America's Top 250 package. Up until recently I could pretty much watch about 90% of the professional sports on at any given moment. I don't know what has changed within the last week but now over 50% of the games are "unavailable." Most annoying is that nearly all of the NBA playoffs are unavailable. Can't be because of where I live because we don't even have a pro basketball, football, or baseball team in my state. I am SERIOUSLY considering switching to DirecTV.

Anyone considering DISH for TV service. Their Sales talk and technical support are in two totally different worlds. My 14-year-old receiver stopped working on 04/23/2018. I call DISH technical support. I spent 39 minutes on the phone, about 30 of it being on hold. While waiting on hold, they played multiple recordings. One of which stated I was eligible for a free upgrade to the Hopper. A technician gets on the line and tells me I need to upgrade because my equipment is obsolete. The upgrade will cost $150.00. I tell him of the recording I just heard and remind him I have also paid $5.00 per month on my bill for EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE. Over a 14-year period is about $840.00.
I get put back on hold. He comes back and again $150.00 for a new receiver. Again No, I have paid for equipment maintenance, I don’t need an upgrade, just replace the nonworking receiver with one like I have. Well that will be $32.00. Again, No, I have been paying for EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE for when something goes wrong. Finally, another person gets on the line and they are going to replace my 14-year-old equipment at no charge. (We will see when the bill comes, they are now requesting credit card information which had not been necessary for 14 years of service).
The catch is a technician cannot be out to replace my old equipment until Saturday 04/28/2018. Five days, what happened to this 24/7 technical support and installation as soon as the next day they advertise? On Tuesday 04/23/2018, I get online and start comparing satellite TV services. So I ask DISH what their price would be for a new service. (They said it can be installed as soon as tomorrow, (04/25/2018) but replacing an old service can’t be done until 04/28/2018).

A little over a week ago I contact DISH Network with regard to faulty/failing equipment and the size of my bill. The consumer service person was very nice, he said my equipment would be changed and he could give me a much better rate for 2 years. I agreed to it and signed electronically. I then called Century Link (this who I pay Dish through as well as cable and phone). While discussing how I could lower my bill for computer and internet I explained the deal I had got through DISH. The representative told me she could do way better if I would be willing to use a different provider. I told her I had already signed up but she said it wasn't an issue as long as I called right back to cancel. She was able to get me all 3 services for about half of what they had been. Immediately upon the conclusion of the call I called DISH back and told them I didn't want to proceed with the plan at this time. They cancelled the installation of new equipment and I thought all was good.
Today I called DISH, they politely explained that I only cancelled the installation not the contract and they were charging me a 250 fee for early termination. I got up the ladder a few rungs but evidently not high enough. I tried explaining that I called and cancelled within 30 minutes but they didn't want to hear it...went up to another supervisor with similar results and finally to the last supervisor who told me she was as high as I was getting. The initial cancelation was done through a rep named Jose, verification number **.
Today I spoke with Erin ** and Adriana **... I guess they have secret codes and can't tell you their full names. SO I supposedly have been referred to the executive team. This has got to be the most incredible idiotic process I have ever been through. A company that I loyally paid for almost 9 years, that I left only because the prices had grown excessive and their equipment was terrible...now would like another 250 dollars for an early termination... Please do yourselves a favor. AVOID DISH NETWORK at all costs. They are no better than common criminals.

We enquired about DISH in Feb of this year, online via chat. I was given a quote of 112.00 including our TVs and movie channels. This was suppose to be for 2 years. DISH requires a way to charge your account monthly. I complied. The technician installed DISH but it did not work properly so after calling DISH to schedule a tech coming out. In the mean time, we got our bill from DISH for $184.00. So I called DISH explaining our situation that we are not satisfied with our service with DISH and want a way to return their equipment. The customer service rep said we are not fulfilling our contract and they will be taking over 400.0O out of our bank account. I said, "Hold on and let me talk to my husband". I went in my bank and cancelled that card! They cannot get our money! They are thieves!
So, I called several times asking for boxes so I can return their equipment and get told I have to pay 400.00. Well, we aren’t giving them anything. Do not use DISH. DirecTV will work with you, they lowered our bill 90.00. I found the address for their corporate office in Colorado and will be sending a letter asking, once again, for boxes. We shall see.

DISH told us we would get the NHL playoffs and we did not as they are blacked out in Las Vegas (Knights games). When we complained, they said we could purchase additional service for the LV Knights playoff games. We purchased it and could not get the games. They are still blacked out. DISH lied to us twice. They said we would have to pay $350 to cancel all of DISH. We told them we would think about it. When we hung up, our service went out completely. DISH is a fraud and service is ALWAYS intermittent. It goes out every night for 10 minutes or so. By the time we can call, the service comes back. So we never successfully get them to do their jobs.

I switched from DirecTV to DISH last fall (2017). At that Time I purchased the CenturyLink modem as long term. It is less costly. I have been charged a rental fee for the modem ever since I signed up and when I called the DISH I spoke with several people for over an hour and ended up getting charged for another modem AND having some sort of line insurance for 2 years added on at a price of $100. So for this company has robbed me of $200 plus rental fees since September of 2017. The customer service people all say they want to help but so far I have been unable to get one with enough common sense to understand what happened. I strongly recommend you have nothing to do with DISH TV and especially do not use them if CenturyLink is involved. CENTURYLINK AND DISH TV IS A PARING OF BUSINESS MADE IN HADES!!!

Since day one we had issues with The Joeys cutting off and had many service tech coming and never solving a damn thing. We decided to cut the services and they offer us the same services we had for $50 a month for 12 month under contract and if we cancel we would have to pay $10 a month for the remaining of the contract, which we are fine with. After a while we decided to cut off the contract (we have been in services between WA and CA for about 15 years) so they charge us 11 x $10 then put our monthly fee to regular price and charge us $15 per box to return the equipment for a total bill of $180. The service suck and they really don't care about you if you decide to leave, After giving them my money for 15 years I can only say that I will never be a DISH Network customer for the rest of my life and after this experience I would gladly pay more somewhere else before I would ever get back to them.

After being with them about 1 month, I received a letter today that was extremely confusing. First of all I was not even aware I had been signed up with them for a month. It then goes on to say that because of a report "from one or more consumer reporting agencies" that "you did not qualify for our best offer due to one or more of the following reasons." It then gives 4 lines of possible reasons referring to NCTUE, whatever that is.
Thinking that meant I was going to pay the full rate and not the special rate for 24 months, I called them and found out that I was going to get the special rate for 24 months and that person could not explain the letter. I was supposed to check with Equifax to find out what the problem was. Come on, give me a break. The person I spoke with could not give me a sensible reason for the letter. Good way to offend and confuse new customers. I nearly told her to cancel the account and I would ship their equipment back. Letter was totally unnecessary and confusing.

When I called today 4/10/18 they said it was my job to call if boxes were not received. I told rude associate that it wasn't my job to secure this equipment and they should have followed up. I asked for a receipt for shipment of boxes to me she said she couldn't do that. So I stated because someone at your company didn't follow up I get charged. After 18 years as a customer, I couldn't stand DISH anymore! My television went blank, and after calling and waiting forever for technical support, they refused to send a tech out or even to send me a replacement HDMI cord, which is what the problem was. They wanted to charge me for the cord because it was "part of your television, so it is your expense." I pointed out they had installed both the receiver and the cord at the same time, and my TV did not need the HDMI cable, and all Dish equipment is the property of Dish and needs to be maintained by Dish. The guy refused to do anything for me. I called back the next day and got someone who said they would send the HDMI cable right out at no charge. They never did. I ended up with no service from Dish, they wouldn't fix the problem, they wouldn't send the replacement equipment, but they still sent me bills! That's what I get for being a 10 year loyal customer with direct bill pay. When I discovered they were charging me for the service I called them and requested a full refund, or credit if I reinstated my service that day. A nice girl put me on hold several times to try and get a resolution for me from her supervisor. No deal. They would only agree to refund $40 out of $260 they withdrew from my checking account. I never got the refund and how can I dispute that? I stopped service and I no longer have an account number. I'm done with corporate media thugs.
