I was relocating from the West Coast, California to the East Coast, South Carolina so I needed to move my vehicles. The language that Ship a Car Direct had online about surrounding their insurance policies or their guarantees of getting the car from A to B protected against damage was intriguing. Typically, when I’m dealing with moving coast to coast, it’s all brokers. Ship a Car stood out to me as something that might be a good experience and it was.

I had to ship my daughter's car in Atlanta, Georgia and I opted to use Ship a Car Direct since they were cheaper. I called their customer service because I have some questions I didn’t ask during the initial process and they were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I would use Ship a Car Direct again and would recommend them to anyone shipping a car cross-country.

I recently used this company to move my car from TX to CA and could not be happier with the service provided. I have used other auto transporters in the past but this is by far the best experience. Within 24 hours of submitting my order, John responded with the name of the auto transporting company assigned to me. He kept in communication via email throughout the process as well as not changing the price quoted originally. The price quoted was the price agreed by the driver. I had an experience a few years ago with another company that quoted me one price and then the next day called me stating that they needed an additional $100 to find a driver. Not this company-the driver was exceptional-he called me the day before pickup to tell me what time he was coming and actually showed up in that time frame as well as on the receiving end. The experience was flawless which made my move less stressful. Would definitely recommend Ship A Car Direct.

I run a manufacturing plant, and I have a ways to go before I am at this same level of customer support after a product ships. Thank you for the example of what 'service' means.

I own a repair shop and have used Ship a Car Direct to tow my customer’s car when it broke down in Illinois. I also had them ship my sister’s car. I checked on prices for a couple of different companies and Ship a Car's was competitive. One company that was recommended to me was difficult to contact or find the right people whereas with Ship a Car Direct, once you made the phone call, they were very easy to walk through the process. I didn’t have to be transferred to different people. Their rep Costa was very helpful getting the transport set up. He got the information done and sent me the e-mail that then allowed me to complete the transaction online. The drivers were on time and friendly too. I was happy and very satisfied with Ship a Car. If I have to use the service again, I’ll definitely use them.

We were moving and did some research for transport companies. We got a few bids and when we looked at reviews, a lot of other transport companies charged fees in addition to what their quote was. Ship a Car Direct's price included all the fees and was a little bit lower than the other ones. Our experience with them was exactly what was advertised. The quote we obtained from them was correct and their customer service representatives were always very good.

I found Ship a Car Direct on Google and they got very good ratings. I sent an email for the quote and they responded with how much it is. Then, you click on “accept” and they keep you updated in the process. There's a field that you need to fill-in for everything. And if you fill it in adequately, they don't need to talk to you. So, it's painless. I don't want too much communication since it takes too much time. It was dealt with that way and that was great. We needed to meet the driver at the location when they pick up the car. He called a day ahead of time, gave me his schedule and gave me a range. They're very good with that. We're going to use Ship a Car Direct again to ship the car of my wife’s mom in Arizona. Buying the product twice is the strongest testament that they can have. They've done very well and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

This was the second time I used Ship a Car Direct for moving my vehicle cross-country, the first experience occurred two years ago. Both experiences were much better than I expected. The pick-up and drop-off were roughly on time (give or take 24 hours), and the car was delivered in good condition both times without any additional damage. The two different carriers I was assigned (one per episode) were both very professional and easy to contact during transport. The first time I worked with Ship a Car Direct it was difficult to consistently reach a representative if I had questions or concerns, but since then it seems they have hired an office representative to take customer calls (Scott) which greatly improved ease of communication. Shipping a car is a bit of an anxiety-provoking experience in general, but I would definitely use Ship a Car Direct if I ever have to do it again.

He set us up with a great driver who got our car across country 3 days earlier than we expected (which my son really appreciated). I bought a classic car in Anamosa, Iowa and I needed to have it shipped in an enclosed trailer to Independence, Missouri. Ship a Car Direct's prices were right and when I got in contact with them, they were clear on everything. They explained to me how it all worked, what they would do and what I needed to do. I was mainly concerned with getting the car here in the condition that it left at their end. They explained to me that they and the hauler were insured and it would be delivered just like they picked it up.

Experience was okay and good. The pickup was delayed by one day which is not bad. Delivery was fast and delivered one day earlier. Cars in good condition on pickup. My customer service sales agent John was the best.

Really good service. I shipped my car from NC to WA. This route was not a highly traveled route. At first, they could not find a driver. And they kept working on that and finally found a carrier two weeks later. In order to find a carrier, they raised the carrier portion to 100% and didn't take any broker fee. My car got a very good carrier and was shipped here in good condition. After the carrier was assigned, everything went through very fast, they picked my car fast and it took only 6 days to get here after picking up. I will recommend Ship A Car Direct to all my friends. I purchased a vehicle out of state and needed to have it shipped. I've dealt with two previous companies before Ship a Car Direct and both of these companies flaked out. So, I went with Ship a Car Direct because they were honest. Also, their transport organizer was excellent plus the carrier driver was very friendly. The driver called to tell me he was going to be late and that he wouldn't be there until the next morning because he was pretty far out. And I said, "That's fine," which it wasn't a problem anyway. Everything worked out really well.

We arrived from a PCS overseas with the military and didn't have a vehicle until ours got into town in six weeks so I needed one shipped from Washington to the Fort Benning area, Georgia. My mom had an extra vehicle we could use so we looked at different options and I found Ship a Car Direct. It was reasonable to ship a car through their website. They were the ones we found first ones we saw and the first one listed on the ConsumerAffairs list.

Then I got a phone call on the day of pick-up for them confirming that my vehicle was in fact picked up and called again to make sure my vehicle was delivered. I put in for my car to get shipped 3-4 weeks prior to me moving so I didn't hear anything from them until a week coming in because that's when they were able to get a carrier dispatched to my vehicle. Moreover, my interactions with the driver were pleasant and he was very professional. He picked up my car and told me how it would take.

We shipped two cars with Ship a Car Direct. With the first one, everything was great. The man lived two towns over from us and he delivered it to us personally. That first experience was perfect but the second one has been a nightmare. It’s got nothing to do with Ship a Car Direct though, but the people that was driving the truck. They used a different transport group. It was DJ Transport, LLC and these people didn’t take care of the car. They were Russians and they didn't speak very good English. Alex was the one who actually transported it and he gave us a copy of what was wrong with the car initially but we don’t know whether he did it out there or after he got here.

We were moving our son back home to Boston and we shipped a car through Ship a Car Direct. The quote I was given was favorable and they had it together in terms of their insurance. I felt like they sourced things and they were very clear like, "Hey, this is the window. We can't tell you for sure." There's only one slip towards the end when it was time to pick up the car. We were on the other end of town and they're like, "Hey, we're here to pick up the car." So we were not as prepared. We knew that it would be sometime that day, but it ended up being earlier than we expected. If we had had maybe a couple of hours notice, that would have been ideal. Other than that, the service worked really well. The communication was great. We were constantly being updated. We also made sure that we sent photos of the car in whatever condition it was pre-trip and it came back in the same condition. I'm pretty comfortable referring them.

Ship a Car Direct is an A1 company. I used them to ship my car from Portland to Michigan. Communication was great, process was easy, was kept informed, they have nice process to help you along. No issues whatsoever. Eve did a great job and the car reached fine.

Dave gave me an accurate Quote $1250.00 right from the beginning. He explained to me that there are a lot of brokers out there. They will throw out a low ball figure half the price just to suck you in. You sign a contract, You think you're getting a great Deal? NO! Then they set an outrageous price. The free quote I was given by Ship a Direct was good and standard to market price. Their reps were also good and answered all my questions. However, my car pick up date was suddenly pushed back by two days without a lot of prior information and that was a bit of a problem. I had to frantically call them a number of times asking them when it will be picked up. If I had some prior knowledge, it would have been very helpful. Nonetheless, I had a good experience with Ship a Direct so I would recommend anyone else to use them.

He was determined to find his dream job in NYC. After months of looking and interviews, he landed a great job. He decided to not bring the car with him and just use public transportation. David helped me set up but my son Eric had to take over when my blood pressure went up. It was good and David was very helpful. However, they wouldn’t come down the Eastern Shore so we had to drive the car to Baltimore where my other son lives and they picked it up there. The guy who got the car was terrific. He was right on time and it all went well.

1 Star is unfortunately the lowest rating permitted... My car was supposed to be shipped via auto train. It arrived 5 days late. Was dropped off with a broken axle. They waited until I was out of town so a friend had to sign for it. Was basically barely able to be driven to the repair shop. Cost almost 1000 dollars to repair. Their insurance refused to respond to my inquiries to pay the bill so I am left to pay. Terrible organization.

Shipped car from San Diego to Seattle. Good customer service, easy to work with. No surprises and car was picked up and delivered as promised. While it is never cheap to ship a car, the pricing was as promised and less expensive than other reputable places I had checked out. Would definitely recommend.

All went well with shipping my car. Only issue was car being dirty upon delivery. But, most importantly, zero scratches, scrapes, dents or others. Best parts of whole process were exceptional communication and reasonable pricing. I'd use Ship-a-Car-Direct again.

I used Ship a Car Direct to ship a 2007 Toyota Yaris from Columbus Ohio to Lake Worth, Florida. I worked with Scott and he made the whole experience pleasant and stress free. Everything worked out as Scott had described from the pick-up to delivery with one exception. The vehicle was delivered after dark to the destination and had to be looked over with a flashlight. Everything was ok, but this could have been an issue had there been body damage noticed the next morning. I rated Ship a Car Direct with 5 stars since the rest of the experience and the fair price overshadowed the after dark delivery. I would not hesitate to use them again!

My sister was giving her car to me, but it was across the country, so I had to ship it to where I was. I looked at some quotes and Ship a Car Direct was one I felt comfortable with. It didn't feel super shady. I took advantage of the online quote calculator, but I also have done a car transport before and I was not so confident in those numbers. I wanted to talk to a human and make sure that those were correct. When I called, John was easy to talk to in terms of not being really pushy. He wasn't a sales guy, more of a customer service guy. We went through a couple of different options. He was helpful and let me know what their process was. He was available every time I called him and I was happy with that.

I moved across the country for work so we looked for multiple providers to ship the car and some of the first ones said they'll charge me with $950. But after speaking to a live person, they said it was going to be $1,600 so I didn't go with them because the price went up significantly. So my wife called a couple of other places. What I really liked about Ship a Car Direct was we spoke with a live person from the beginning. He was really nice. He answered all of our questions when we had further questions and he followed up. Great service. I checked prices and reviews from numerous sites before deciding on giving my "baby" to a transport company. My car is just 2 months old so I was hesitant! Bruce came through - keeping me informed, even rushing to get me a carrier within 2 hours after the one I expected broke down! Very professional and efficient - including the driver. I live on a very tiny street and expected to have to meet the rig elsewhere. Driver surprised me by taking car off rig. He parked on a wider street and driving right to my front door. We needed to move a 2007 Honda Civic from Houston, Texas to Charlotte, North Carolina. We got a reasonable quote from Ship a Car Direct's online calculator so we submitted a request. A customer service representative called me to let me know what was going to happen and that he would be my point-of-contact the whole way through. He was phenomenal! We had arranged the transport but had a problem at our end and weren't able to meet the originally scheduled date. So, I called them and he adjusted it to accommodate our new schedule. Everything went really, really well with the exception of once the car was loaded and on its way to Charlotte, the truck broke down and it took about a week longer than we expected it to. Overall, it was a very good experience. I couldn't have asked for better, particularly the customer service.

I used the online quote calculator and was able to compare them with other quotes that we had. The quote was higher but again they were in Boulder, which is 30 minutes away and that's how comfortable it is. I had good to excellent service by the customer service representative. I got a lot of emails, a couple of phone calls and they answered whatever question I had. They were knowledgeable and professional and they kept me updated on where the car was and what day it was going to be delivered and they delivered it on time.

The only issue was that I had been told that the delivery would be door to door but instead, I had to go two miles for the car. Ship a Car Direct is an intermediary. They find people who ship with their own vehicles or other companies so the biggest problem was finding somebody to actually do the shipping. It wasn’t clear to me, although I figured it out fairly quickly. Another problem was trying to coordinate the pickup with the driver where they didn’t know when the driver would be available. It was very awkward and not seamless. But once the driver picked up the car and came and I was able to communicate directly with him, it worked fine but it took a week. But I live in a less traveled route so I can understand the issue.

It was higher than one other company, but lower than another. I did chat with them and they managed to reduce it to meet the quote so I ended up getting it for the same price. I stayed with them mostly because I've started with them first and I've gotten the first quote from them. They seemed to be the ones that could pick up the car the quickest and make sure that it would get there in about four days. The other companies were a little bit more hesitant about when they’d actually picked up the car.

The rep that I talked to said everything completely what the fine print said and didn’t contradict himself unlike the other company, they said something else which contradicted what was in their fine print. In addition, Ship a Car Direct had their dock number on their website which is what I was looking for. Also, they're more affordable than the other car shipping companies. The rep also gave me a direct line number and so with every step and every process, he always kept in contact with me, and if I had any questions, I would call his direct line so I felt comfortable. I received my vehicle in five days, which would have been a day earlier if it wasn't for the snowstorm. Overall, they had an excellent, efficient service and I was very pleased with it.

The car was picked up on the date suggested, and delivered 10 days later, which was OK. But the agreed amount was changed after the car was picked up. The claim was that the car was a different model than initially agreed. $100 extra was added to the cost even though in my opinion the car was as advertised. The car was in good shape when delivered, so all in all it was OK.

Picked the car on the scheduled day as per my requirement. Delay was not an option for me as I was flying the next day. They shared the contact numbers to find the exact status of transport (It's not updated by default to you). The initial estimate of delivery was 10 days after but it took 15 days. They allowed to change the delivery address which was 30 miles farther from the initial address. The driver called a day before to update on delivery and asked for the time. Just inspected the car and started driving. Finally it was a good service though there can be improvements in time estimation and maintaining it. Overall satisfied and recommend to use Ship a Car Direct and their partners.
