I filed a claim once. It was an okay experience but they can be a little bit faster and better for the customer because when the car is expected to be done, the customer is thinking to have their car right away. The repair company will not release the vehicle until Protect My Car paid. They said that Protect My Car gives them a credit card over the phone to pay and that holds up the process a little bit longer. But, I got the repair then everything was great. I got the approval within a couple of days too.

Unlike some companies we will not issue payment to the shop unless and until the repair is completed and you, the policyholder, are satisfied. That is just another way that we protect you to make sure the repair is done completely and correctly the first time.
Thanks again for your comments.

I got ProtectMyCar when I first purchased my auto and it was done automatically through my dealership. I thought that the policy would protect everything I have on my car but the policy is useless. I've had it for about several years and there was nothing that the policy can do for me. It was null and void and doesn't cover anything serious. Any of the options that they give me, like the powertrain, it's on the policy but there's nothing under that policy that would have checked my car if it happened to break down or if I had issues with it. I've had to have a major malfunction before their policy would cover anything so it's worthless to me. I'm going to reach out to them and see if I can get a better deal on the policy or they can just reimburse me for the money that I gave them because I'm wasting money.

Mechanical breakdowns give you little or no warning. That is what this protection is all about. When your Starter broke down, the coverage saved you $568 on that one repair alone. For a very small monthly premium you are protecting yourself against these repairs.
Look at it this way, without the coverage you have to pay for wear and tear repairs and unexpected breakdowns. For a small premium, you are protected against the unexpected breakdown, towing costs and rental car expenses.
Thanks again for your comments and for being a valued customer.

I thought about my car being protected for a long time. Then, I heard about ProtectMyCar on the radio, so I looked it up online and went ahead and did it. One time, something happened to my car and it had something to do with the company, Chevrolet. It had a recall on something and it happened to my car. They had to fix the belt and the park neutral reverse guide thing but I didn’t take it back in time for them to do it. I was almost in an accident because of it but ProtectMyCar was the one that had my car towed to the service place and it was right on time. It was also on a Sunday and that was what was so spectacular about it for me. Also, I had some work done on my car and ProtectMyCar paid for half of it. They really didn’t do any justice. So, I don’t want to be without it because if something happens to my car, I can’t afford a new one right now.
I submitted claims over the phone and the process was very easy. They really helped me out with the specifics, like what they would or would not pay for, and there were no problems at all. Also, I have a contract with them so all I have to do is read it. It makes them work on it and ProtectMyCar works on the major parts of the car like the engine, starter and stuff that cost a bundle without the warranty, so I’m liking that. They were also right on time, and they did what they said they were going to do. Then, to make payments, I call right over the phone to pay my $50, which is really cheap for me. I love ProtectMyCar.

You are so right. In this day and age, protecting the investment in your vehicle is very important. That is just one of the reasons for protecting yourself with this coverage.
We are very happy that our company, staff and coverage has given you that. Best of all, we will be here to assist you when you next need help with your vehicle. Thanks again for your terrific comments.

I only had to file a claim with ProtectMyCar once and I had to call them because I wasn’t sure what was covered. We also had to call them a couple of times because when I checked back with the vendor, he said he had not gotten his money, but all the information was with ProtectMyCar. I didn’t have a problem because ProtectMyCar gave him whatever number they needed to give him. Everything worked out fine for me. I’ve been trying to recommend ProtectMyCar to my friends who have cars because it’s a good deal.

Thank you, too, for referring folks to us. We will treat them with just as much respect as we do you. Remember, if you referred someone to us who now has a policy we say thank you with a Visa gift card. Please let us know who you have referred so we can thank you this way

Making payments was difficult at first for me because I had to come up with the money. But after speaking with the reps, they made it a lot easier for me because they were willing to work with me on a cheaper down payment. When I submitted a claim for motor mounts, the experience was good. I didn't have a hard time and the service was great. If I could afford it again, I would go back with Protect My Car.

My experience with Protect My Car was very bad. If I could give Zero stars I would. Initially I spoke with a customer service representative to research a warranty for my car. After hearing how much it would be I was hesitant to purchase immediately, so the representative offered to hold the price he offered for $20 (apparently it's subject to change from day to day). He said he could send me a packet explaining the benefits. I could look over it and if I was interested I could call him back to activate the policy. I agreed to this and a few days later I received the packet. After reviewing, I decided $4500 was too much for an 8-year-old car and did nothing.
Not being as diligent as I should, I did not look closely at my bank statement until 3 months had passed. They had been taking $75 out each month for those three months. I promptly picked up the phone and called them. After getting nowhere with the first rep, she put me on with her "supervisor" who informed me that the $20 was actually a down payment on the policy and that that automatically activated the account. She said that they don't hold the price for any amount. You either buy the warranty or you don't. She said that she would review the recorded conversation I had with the original rep and call me back on Monday (it was Friday at the time). I said that was fine, in the meantime I would dispute the charges with my bank.
I never heard back from her. To top it all off, the bank investigated and felt like I had in fact authorized the transaction and "closed their investigation". I'll be closing my account with them ASAP. I will not pretend to remember exactly how the initial conversation went, but it seems to me that a company would give someone the benefit of the doubt if they misunderstood exactly what the terms were. A $4500 contract should require more than a verbal authorization. Lesson learned. Don't let this happen to you.

We do give customer the benefit of any doubt. One way we insure you protection is to provide a written policy and payment agreement for you to review and provide 30 days to do so without penalty and subject to a full refund.

I was provided a good experience by ProtectMyCar. I was very unfamiliar with the claims process but the dealership filed it for me. There were some things that I thought would have been covered but weren't but I was satisfied when they finally got the issue done. Also, submitting payments was easy though I had to get it reduced as I was going through some life changes. But it saved me a lot of money and either way, I didn't lose out. ProtectMyCar provided what I’ve asked for and worked with me to get where I need to be. I’m very satisfied with it.

Our primary goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide good peace of mind.
We are happy to have helped you with that repair as well as your budget

I received a phone call from Protect My Car. I have another warranty on my car and I was gonna cancel it, and they had offered me a better deal, lowered the premium and a zero deductible like I had on the other one, so I stayed with them. Six months later, I needed to file a claim. I'd called and asked if something specific was covered, and they said yes. Then when I went to have it covered, they said it wasn't so it went back and forth with them that way. After the repairs were done, I wished that they would have followed up with me to make sure it was done correctly or if I had any other questions. Overall there's always room for improvement. I don't have a policy so I don't know what my benefits are, which is frustrating. I've never received my card in the mail so I have no way to contact them. I have payments setup to come out of my credit card monthly and I'd have to go to a credit card statement because I don’t know how to contact them.

We are sending you another policy and ID card as requested. It will have all out contact numbers in it so please do not hesitate to call us when you need help.

Protect My Car called me a couple of times and it sounded like a pretty good deal. And then I was stranded once and my battery went dead. And it took almost four hours before I got any service. But the other time I was stranded, I had a breakdown on the highway and it was real hot. And they pretty well made a connection pretty quick on that.
I also submitted a claim over the phone but I carried it to the dealer and they checked it out. I gave them all the information and they sent it in. But the process wasn't as smooth as they said it would be. I paid my deductible and I had a hard time getting my car fixed. I carried it back a couple of times. And then they contacted me to say there was one item that wasn't covered. But when I looked at my contract, it was listed as covered. So, I called them back and they said, "Oh, yeah, it is covered." So, they made the adjustment and that reduced some of the bill, but not a lot. I had a major bill but I had a major expense on my part, too. There were also a couple of things they did that wasn’t covered so I ended with a pretty good deal. But I got a little uneasy about it on the major calls and I was dissatisfied with the waiting times. Other than that, I had no problem with payments. Overall it was fair and I was satisfied.

The reason it did take longer on this repair was simply that the estimate listed the water pump and thermostat, but not the reservoir. Once you let us know that the shop was also including that in the repair, we called them and approved that repair as well. We apologize for the delay and we are very glad the policy helped save you so much money.

I learned about ProtectMyCar when my first warranty wore off. Submitting the claim has been a real problem because it seems as though they didn’t want to cover anything. The first couple of things that I submitted to them, they said they didn’t cover them. It would have been over 1.5 years since I had it serviced but they said they didn’t handle that so I wound up paying for those things myself. However, they had fixed two out of the three claims I have submitted and I was happy with that. But, while the car was in the shop, something else had occurred. It was similar to the front part of the car which they covered. Then, my card that was associated with it was compromised. Someone stole my numbers and started using the card so they cancelled the card. When they did that, it also cancelled the automatic money that was coming to the ProtectMyCar account.
The representative that I spoke to after that incident and before my card was compromised was very snooty. They had an attitude and said, “We got your money and it doesn’t matter. We don’t do this. We don’t do that.” When they reached out to me and I spoke with the representative, he was willing to take off $1,000 towards the total of the account, bringing it down to a reasonable amount that I could manage at the time. That rep was very good. He was customer service oriented and he did the right thing. He handled it to the point where it had to be a supervisor to make that type of transition.

No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover every component of your vehicle. The cost to the consumer would be prohibitive. We cover those components that are the most likely to breakdown and are usually the most expensive to repair. This not only keeps your monthly premiums at a comfortable level, but gives you the protection you need. That is why two of the three claims you filed were covered, but the latch for the rear tail gate was not.
Even so, the amount you saved to date on just those two repairs has more than paid for the coverage. Thas how you know you have a great policy.
Thanks again for your comments.

The first claim I filed with Protect My Car was difficult. The second one was crazy. Once my car dealership made contact with them, my car was fixed right away because the car dealership has this policy they don't like their customers waiting. But after that, the dealership called me and said that Protect My Car won't pay. They asked for my number and I had to go back and forth with them a couple of times. Then, Protect My Car paid. The last time I needed it, Protect My Car called me for $1000 worth of work done, verified that I was the one who took the truck or the vehicle into the shop and they sent the approval right away. It was one, two, three, done.
So far, things have been working out very well. Every time I have an issue, they take care of it. There was a slight issue on the first one, but nothing I can call about. I appreciate them being careful about someone getting a hold of my number or just validating and verifying that it was me that was in there to get the work done. They are a little slow but that was a caution on their behalf which I can understand, I'm in business too.

We do go the extra mile to make sure your private information is protected. We do insist that the repair shop provide the final invoice and make sure the repir is completed properly before making a final payment. That is for your protection and we appreciate your understanding about those requirements and precedures.
Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is anything we can do for you.

I went online and started searching so I could save with the cost of car repair and that’s how I came across with ProtectMyCar. I tried it, and I got a couple of things like the oil change. When I had a problem with my car, I'd bring it to the shop. I'd tell the shop that my deposit’s $100, and the shop would pull out a claim. Then everything went quite okay and ProtectMyCar took care of it so that’s good. When I call customer service, it’s never a hard time to find anyone so that’s also great.
Everything was great when a person starts with the car. But when the problems come and he takes it to the shop and the shop starts telling how much it’s going to be on the labor and cost of parts, it’s not easy and he doesn’t have that funding. Then when somebody decides to get into a different company, I tell about my good experience with ProtectMyCar. I like their good service and I make it aware that it is good and word of mouth is the best way to get business. As long as the problem relates to what they’ve put on the contract, the person doesn’t have to worry. He’d save some headache and money.

I went with Protect My Car because of the cost. Submitting a claim to them has been excellent. The dealer did it for me. The process was easy and simple and it went down to the repair technician. They analyzed and submitted the bill, and I paid my deductible. It’s also very simple paying for it. I have it on auto pay and they draft it out every month. I have called in to inquire another vehicle. And as far as getting hold of a live person and talk to them, they’re pleasant to talk to and not a bunch of rigmarole of automated service you have to get through. They’re easy to get a hold of and they don’t haggle. So, I’ve already recommended them to three different people.

So, I’m fine. When I had a claim, the dealership submitted it for me, so that was a good experience. I was told the issue was the converter. I had a deductible of $100 and I just had to pay my part. They also got me a loaner vehicle, so that was great, too. Then I got my car out and they totally fixed the part. But I’m having an issue with the people who fixed my car because now, it sounds like a diesel truck. Protect My Car looks decent and it was listed as a good program. I filed a claim when my car broke down. I took my vehicle to a body shop because my battery connected to the engine. I got a few more days out of it once I got that fixed. Then I had put it back in the shop because something else was wrong and it needed a whole lot of work. Instead of being able to pay for it right then and there because I am on a fixed income, I had to give that car back because it was a lemon. So now I am without a vehicle. I would not recommend someone that is on a fixed income to go for that program. They’re going to need to have $35000 at the end of the premium fixing the car. Some people don’t have $35000 right on hand because they are on fixed income. Therefore, that’s not a good plan for them. But their roadside assistance is very good.

We hope on reflection you will see the wisdom of protecting yourself against unexpected breakdowns and will allow us to help you when you replace your vehicle.

I’ve taken my car to the shop three times and they worked really good. I give their reps my claim number, phone number and all the information. They call, check, verify, and then they call me back and tell me what the price is going to be. So I won’t have to pay out of pocket. There has been one issue that they didn’t cover, but I pretty well handled that myself.
The first time I tried their roadside assistance, I had an emergency. They wouldn't give it and kept telling me I wasn’t on the plan and that they couldn’t find my name. But then the second time I used it, they were really quick. The only thing is the time difference. They’re Eastern Time. If I take my car into a shop and they’re getting to get paid, it has to be done really early in the morning because they close their time for Eastern and ours is California time, which is about three hours later. However, when there was a problem with the power steering and that particular part, ProtectMyCar said they didn't cover that because it was part of the AC system, although in this vehicle, it was also part of the power steering. So somebody told me that I got to call ProtectMyCar back again and tell them that. It took about three or four times but they finally accepted it. I also ended up paying a $400 deductible when it's just a $100 deductible. I'm very disappointed. I still have the service but I know there are other services out there. There was something that I needed to get done with my car that I didn’t realize but it all worked out. If I didn’t have Protect My Car, I pretty much would have been in a world of trouble.
When it comes to submitting a claim, I didn’t have an issue with ProtectMyCar. It was more with the dealerships to whether or not they wanted to do the work. There's hesitation when Protect My Car is paying for things to get done instead of me paying for it. Because of that, I’m actually hesitant to get something very serious done on my car because I don’t know exactly what the outcome was going to be. I’m in the position right now to where I don’t know if I want to go through with Protect My Car or wait it out and see it completely malfunction.
In the warranty, it says it’s covered and the gentleman confirmed it. But for some reason, I still don’t feel 100% confident about the whole ordeal. The guy I talked to was kind of short with me on the phone. He answered the question but there’s some hesitation there. There were payment options that were explained to me and had the different type of coverages. We pretty much came to a conclusion, picked one and started paying.

When I first joined, ProtectMyCar would show nice things about the deal, but they’re terrible! I put my car in the shop, called them and they received a quote. The price they charge me and what they charge the insurance people are different. This is what happened with every shop I went to. I don’t think that’s legal but these people are getting away with it. Anyway, ProtectyMyCar asked me to send $1,500 so they can pay for the repairs. Why aren’t they paying for it! I’m using ProtectMyCar when it might have been just me. I wound up paying $721 to the shop instead of $1,500 through ProtectMyCar.
Towards the end of December, I called and talked with the representatives and they agreed to reimburse me. On January 7th, I called to follow up on my reimbursement check. Since I was late with my payment about one day, the young lady told me that I had no choice but to pay my monthly note first. She said, “that’s how it works.” In the end, they reimbursed me some of that $721. The only thing I enjoyed about that was the rent-a-car and the tow truck.

We hope that upon reflection you will see how helpful this policy was on just this one repair.
Again, thank you for your comments.

I'm dissatisfied with Protect My Car. They're all pretty hectic and can use a lot of improvement. The claims process was difficult and I was denied. I was told that Protect My Car wasn't going to cover my claim because it was a pre-existing condition. That didn’t make sense to me because they knew the car was used when I bought it and that meant that they could pick out what they wanted and what they didn’t want. Also, what the dealer said was wrong with the car wasn’t really what was wrong with it. Protect My Car and the dealer are professionals but nobody did the professional work. Also, I didn’t like that the rental is not really a rental reimbursement and that this wasn’t explained to me when I first bought the warranty. I still might be shopping for an auto warranty when I get time. If I could find something better that I like then I'll switch again.

Also, we do not tell you what kind of rental car to get or where to get it. You make those decision based on your need. What we do is reimburse the cost of the rental up to $30 per day for up to seven days.
Thank you for you business and or your comments.

I'm okay with ProtectMyCar. I have and would recommend them to a friend. So far I'm happy with what I have. I was just a little unhappy when I tried to use the warranty two months ago. I used my warranty to get a heater core put in my car. I was told by Chrysler that it was covered-- all of it. I just need to pay my deductible. But the warranty did not. The whole thing was $1,600 and the warranty only paid for $800. So, I ended up paying an additional $800.
I called it in and ProtectMyCar said the reason they did not cover it is that Chrysler shouldn't have charged me for the fluids and the stuff they charged me for. I also spoke to someone at Chrysler as I was very unhappy with it. I thought it was unfair. I ended up paying for the fluids and stuff. That frustrated me because why have a warranty if I'm gonna pay that kind of money? If I got a warranty, why did I pay $800 and my deductible is only $100? It was a little crazy. So next year, I will take a good hard look at ProtectMyCar again. If it costs me, then I see no reason at all that this should be the way to go.

I wanted a protection program for my car and Protect My Car came in the mail first so I chose them. I've been satisfied ever since. I've used their service twice. I took my car in to get service and the dealership called them for me to get a claim done. The representatives have been very kind and helpful. However, the only bad thing when submitting a claim was the long wait time to speak with anybody. You stay on the phone for about 30 minutes. But, once you got through to someone, it was very easy.
They've paid to get my car fixed and the service was good. Making payments has been easy as well. It was because Protect My Car was sending my statements in the mail. However, I haven't been getting my statements for the last three months. I've been calling and they kept saying that they're gonna send them out to me but I haven't gotten statements. Other than those two issues, I'm happy and introduced them to my friends. I told one of my friends to buy it because it's really good. Protect My Car then gave me an incentive for that.

I’m not very happy with ProtectMyCar. When I needed the warranty for the repair of the engine and the replacement of some parts of my car, I wasn't able to use it because despite all the coverage from ProtectMyCar, the Honda dealer was still charging me $2000. I couldn't even change the oil because I had to pay for it. I'm paying for something I can't even use.

As you discussed with our claims adjuster, the shop you chose to take your car to refuses to file claims with any vehicle service contract companies and requires you, as the customer., to pay directly out of your pocket. Some shops just do not want professional adjuster to examine their work. Often times it is because the shop knows it cannot overcharge service companies or perform unnecessary work the way it can with its customers directly. When that happens, we urge consumers to choose a shop that will respect your rights and be able to enjoy the benefits of a policy that saves you money.
The policy will reimburse you for the oil changes you had to pay for due to the shops refusal to simply call us and get paid on the spot. Likewise, we are here to help make sure you get the benefits of what you are paying for.
We do regret that you chose to give us a low rating when it was the shop that refused to allow you to use the coverage in the first place.
Thanks, though, for your comments.

So, my call wasn't going to somebody that was open from 9:00 to 5:00. They had people there all night. Anything I do with them is easy. I just take my claims to the dealer, and the dealer handles it. Then I just come back, sign the paper, and we're finished. My payments come right out of my checking account and it's only $101 a month which is not bad. Our warranty for our vehicle was expiring and we needed an extended warranty so I looked over on the internet and saw ProtectMyCar. They have a reasonable monthly payment and they offer really good benefits within coverage. My husband looked it over and he decided he wanted to go with that. Almost a year after we've been with ProtectMyCar, our engine light came on and we took advantage to have it checked. It was the transmission that needed repair. We put in the claim and they got back with the shop and went through everything and fixed it. Now our truck is running well. When the shop submitted the claim for us, they had a problem faxing over the work order. But ProtectMyCar waited for it, went through everything and approved it right away.
Payments for the extended auto warranty was really easy. It's an automatic payment and goes through our bank. If I don't have enough funds, they'll call me and let me know that my payment hasn't gone through then we make arrangements. I personally like it because if we're behind they still gave a chance to pay back what I had owed plus the previous month. It really worked out well for us. They're really good and very courteous. We're very happy with ProtectMyCar and I would recommend them a lot. In fact, I also recommended my sister to go with them because she's always having car problems. They provide you with a booklet of what they cover and they go by their word. I don't doubt it. A transmission costs over thousands of dollars and we went through this experience with paying only a $100 out of pocket. I would say with $56 a month for this coverage, it's so worth it.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect my Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

ProtectMyCar was one of the first warranty providers that called me. There are other companies out there, but I chose ProtectMyCar because they made it possible for me to get a warranty right away, and it's within my budget. Funds were really tight and I wasn't thinking I was gonna be able to get it at that time but they gave us a discount because I have disabled people in my home that I take care of. When submitting claims, I give the repair place the information. When they figure out what's going on, they call me and let me know how much it's gonna be. Then, I ask them to call ProtectMyCar and they do and give them the amount. I will then receive a call from ProtectMyCar with the reduced amount and I pay them directly. ProtectMyCar calls back and pays the repair shop. The process is not difficult for me.
I've had to use them at least three times already. My air conditioning went out the week after I got the car and that was a $1,000 repair and they got it down to $800. Even though it doesn't cover the full amount of the repair, it usually takes off a good chunk and the payment is not expensive. It's under $30 a month for us and so far, it's definitely paid for itself. I've also done the oil change and I've been satisfied with it. The only dissatisfaction I have is more on my part that I picked one that only covers a portion because that's what I could afford.

They have a disability plan that could better help me in the payment. I use the oil changes and I like it. The rental car benefits are also there if I need it.
Then, one time, I took my car to get it serviced because sometimes if you drive, it isn't really in gear. I was told that I would need a transmission repair and something was going on in the fifth gear. Then, I remember I had ProtectMyCar so I went to the mechanic. I forgot that I had to come up my part of the money first. But when I paid my money and I sent it to ProtectMyCar, they were able to draw it out of my account and the process sped up.
Also, it was really good with the claims rep. For the part, they said it would be here on time but it was delayed by three days. I've been with ProtectMyCar for over a year. When my transmission went out I had to go through hell just to get a transmission. It was like pulling teeth. And when I finally did get it, it was a used one. I had to take my truck back and forth to the dealer four times because ProtectMyCar.com kept giving the dealer a runaround as far as covering the parts. And the only thing they covered was the transmission. They didn't pay for seals or anything like that, which is a bunch of BS. I had to pay off the rental out of my pocket which was another $200 or $300, which I shouldn't have had to pay. I'm still with them but I'm not happy with them. It was a horrible experience.

At that time I thought Protect My Car was a big company. But everytime I go in the shop, they’re always trying to find some way to get us try to pay. I’m setting up to submit a claim for the one that I have in the shop now. I have a problem with the engine and they said it wasn’t in the contract. Even with my truck, I had difficulties because they were always trying to get off in paying for something. They said they aren’t going to pay for the fuel pump because it was listed as something else. Last month, I was annoyed doing it with the car’s ignition control port because they said it's not listed in the book. It’s not listed because the book that they’ve got have older cars. To work on more sales, they don’t upgrade what they will cover. New cars have injectors, they don't have spark plugs. They say like normal wear and tear, you need to take care of it. But it’s not normal wear and tear when you need to get out with 5000 miles on it.
I have Protect My Car in two vehicles. It’s not difficult to make payments. It gets billed on the credit card every month. But when I have to pay my $100 plus, I fight with them on the phone. Every time I’ve had to get them to pay so much, I had to fight for it. Instead of just, “Hey, we’ll take care of it.” And sign off and move on, they always try to find a way to get out of what they’re covering. It’s a headache with them. And they say, “You know, we can get it done cheaper somewhere else.” But I ‘ve had my car dealer serviced at the dealership because I didn’t want any problems. Nobody ever worked in these cars but Mazda. Always Ford. Nobody ever worked on these cars. I did take it to get oil change to the same Mazda dealer. I didn’t take it anywhere but to the dealerships. They can go over everything and check it in the record -- the history of the car.
I used the wrecker service here in Houston. It takes a while to get the wrecker because it’s so spread out. I was driving the car when it broke down, and it was pouring down rain so it made it worse. The wrecker showed up within an hour. So not that bad but it could be quicker. I wish they would pay for what it says instead of me having to fight with them because of the warranty. I wanted to talk to them about the dealerships going to pick up my car. And they said, “Well, they’ll never do this and this is what you’re going to do now.” Instead of getting the part to fix it, they’ll sign up for it somewhere else and ship it to the dealer because they didn’t get it. They’re trying to choose a dealer down at the labor cost.
Last month, they didn’t pay the $1200 bill. There are three resistors which set the locking doors and the rotary engine for the emission control. They said they weren’t going to pay for that. I said, “Huh? I don’t understand why.” They said, “Well, these resistors are not listed in the book. I said, “But it’s in the car. I can’t drive without these resistors.” They can’t get it inspected. So they were not going to cover them. My truck has 24 rubber bumpers that keeps the body firm right down the frame, sort of cushioning. Ford called me and said the bushings were messed up and all cracked down. I called Protect My Car to make sure. They said they’re not going to cover that. But that wouldn’t bother me. I had it fixed it while I had the truck all apart. I didn’t want to have it upgraded while it is apart and have them fix it but they weren’t going to pay for it.
Protect My Car pay partials of the claim. They always have to come up with the money when something’s in there. Like now, they found that the radiator was cracked in the bottom of it and they’re saying that the radiator is cracked because of low compression and the rotary engine and there’s something wrong with the intake of it, it’s heated up too much and expanded. And they’re not going to pay for it because they said it was called something else. It’s upsetting.
Ford can help with some other warranties that are updated. It’s just they would afford a warranty that would go with my car but they offered a better deal and they said they use all the dealerships. But I have a month-to-month contract with Protect My Car for four years or 100,000 miles. They’re the only ones that financed over a long period because of my age and I told them I couldn’t afford an upfront payment. They took the amount that we agreed on and divided that and they draw each month $67 for the car and $90 for the truck. I can afford something monthly but not five grand one-time. The other companies wanted to do it in two to three payments but it puts too much of a strain for someone who’s got a fixed income. I don’t have extra amount of dollars coming in.

The other side of that issue are the numerous claims that the policy did pay for and the amount it has saved you on your repair costs.
You have no doubt reviewed the policy and have seen that the policy lists each and every covered component. We make it very clear what components are covered and which are not. The reason for this is simple. We want you to know right up front and in writing exactly what is covered with no hidden or confusing terms. Some components are not covered and for a very good reason. If we covered every single component of your vehicle, the cost of the policy could easily be three or four times what you are paying for it. Most people would be unable to afford such coverage. We cover the components that are most likely to break down and for the most part are the costliest to repair.
The purpose of the policy is to pay the cost of covered repairs less the deductible. No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.
Again, thank you for your comments.

ProtectMyCar is not completely forward about what they do. When you call, you get different people. They don’t have their game together. Most of the time there’s no one there to really answer your questions. My particular claim was a transmission claim since my transmission started acting up. I called the claim in and they replaced the transmission with a used transmission. It was done at the Dick Smith Nissan dealership, and when Dick Smith installed the used transmission in the car, we got it back four days later. We also got a rental car through Dick Smith that was paid by the warranty company.
But when we got the car home, we noticed the next morning that the transmission fluid was leaking from the car. The next day we immediately took the car back to Dick Smith and they checked it out and confirmed that the transmission was leaking. I called the warranty company back and told them what Dick Smith said. For all of this time, Dick Smith called ProtectMyCar but they weren't picking up for them. We waited days and days to find out what was going on. I finally went back to Dick Smith and asked them since they had the car for five days now. They said that they were still waiting on the ProtectMyCar to call them back.
When they finally got hold of ProtectMyCar, they told Dick Smith that they were checking with their vendor where they got the transmission from. But they never called Dick Smith back. In the meantime, I called the ProtectMyCar and they told me they checked with the vendor who said there was nothing wrong with that transmission when they shipped that transmission out to Dick Smith. It turned out that Dick Smith Nissan diagnosed the problem wrong. It wasn’t the transmission that was leaking, but it was the axle seal going into the transmission that was leaking. My wife and I got very aggravated with the whole situation.
I got the car back from Dick Smith and upon giving me the car that meant that we had to pay for the rental car. For this second time, we had rented a car through Dick Smith again, but ProtectMyCar was no longer covering the rental car even though when I called them and I told them that we needed another rental car because the car was still at Dick Smith, they okayed me to get another rental car. In the end, my wife and I had to pay for it. I then took the car to a regular transmission place, not a dealership. They put it up the rack and I told them to go ahead and fix the axle seal. The axle cost me $175 and the seal was $50 plus the labor. ProtectMyCar told the earlier dealership that those were not covered. But by reading my warranty, I found that they were covered. I called ProtectMyCar back, told them what had happened.
After talking to the guy, he said that according to Dick Smith the boot on the axle was damaged so that made the coverage on the axle not covered. The axle was covered, but the seals that go to the axles wasn’t. That didn't make sense because, in order to replace the damaged axle, you had to put seals in it which meant that they should have covered the whole entire thing. It was also in actuality that the transmission was leaking, but it was leaking from the axle seal. If you’re the person that’s replacing an axle that goes into a transmission, you wouldn’t charge for the axle seal but charge the person that was furnishing the transmission.
But ProtectMyCar said that they were not responsible. They never straightened it out. In the beginning, they told me that the only thing that was covered, under my warranty, was the transmission. But my warranty says "drivetrain". It has to do with anything that causes the car to go in motion, which would have been the transmission and the axles.
I got a warranty company and they should have taken care of all of this. Once you put in a claim, that’s when the warranty company’s supposed to take over. As a customer, to go changing things down, and calling people and trying to find out if they found out what was wrong with the car, I wasn’t supposed to be doing all of those. That was not my responsibility. With the first warranty we had, we took the car to them and whatever was wrong they said they found the problem and it was going to take them a certain amount of days to fix it. We also heard anything else about it. But with ProtectMyCar, I had to chase them down so my experience with them was really terrible.
I’m still paying them, though. My monthly payments still go on and I’m not raising anything about it right now. With this company, the professionalism is not there. You never can get the person that’s making the decision. They say they'll call me back to let me know of the situation but I never get a call. These people are clearly out to deprive me of something that I’m supposed to get. Nobody should ever deal with them. Overall, I haven’t had any more problems with the car, but I ended up paying more money than I should have. But I want to contact ProtectMyCar again and give them an opportunity to straighten this out.
ProtectMyCar is not honest and people need to know that it’s not a great company to deal with. The different transmission shops that I talked to also said that this is not a good company. In fact, Dick Smith told me when we first took our car to them with this problem that we needed to cancel this warranty and get whatever money that we can get back from them and get another warranty. I’m getting ready to take ProtectMyCar to court. I have all the evidence, I got where the other transmission serviced, fixed the axle, they put the seal in and put that new axle in. I’m going to do everything humanly possible to make their business look bad. I found out that the South Carolina Insurance Commission also has a bid in this so I’m filing a claim to the South Carolina Insurance Commission also.

We appreciate the difficulty you had in getting the work done by that shop. We are glad that we were able to help you with the cost of the repairs and look forward to helping you again when you need the help.

It was a fine experience with the ProtectMyCar specialist. I just didn't realize that when I purchased the warranty, I would have to pay half because my car, a 2002, was older. It wasn't explained to me in that manner until it was time for me to use the warranty when I had to get my transmission fixed about three months ago. So I was a little lost. The customer service agent should be a little bit more mindful of what they're telling the customers because corporate properties are losing customers. But it's fine now. I have the opportunity to use the warranty and it works fine. The mechanic whom I brought the car to was unaware of the warranty. But once he found out what was going on, he was more than willing to use it. Once the process and contract got started, everything moved along. At this time, everything is okay and I have recommended ProtectMyCar to a friend.

Protectmycar sounded that they have a better plan than others so I went with them. They gave me free oil changes then when my car broke down because its alternator went out and I had to rent a car. But they didn't reimburse my rental fee which was a couple of hundred dollars because they said my car took so long at the dealership. The dealership I took the car to was backed up so it sat there for a couple of weeks before it got fixed. Protectmycar didn’t make it clear to me that they weren’t going to cover the rental. Besides that, it's okay and when it came to the repair of my car, they covered most of it and I just had to pay $100. It was a trustworthy experience, overall.

Rental Car benefits are available under the policy, even when the shop delays work on your vehicle. We will be in touch to go over this issue with you to provide the benefits provided in the policy.

I have an older car with low mileage so I don’t do a lot of traveling or miles on it. So far, I only used ProtectMyCar one time since I had it. When filing a claim, it depends on where I go. It’s really important that people know where vendors are going to be responsive in a town. Otherwise, it’s a crapshoot. When I used my normal person that I would use for service, he couldn’t get through to ProtectMyCar and he chose not to go with them at all so I ended up having to pay.
The next time, I called in and told ProtectMyCar that I needed to know who they had here locally that worked with them. They gave me the names of a couple of companies. When I had a problem recently, I went to a company and they were fabulous. They knew ProtectMyCar and they took care of me. The insurance worked the way it was supposed to work and I was very satisfied. However, I called back another time and they said they couldn't give me the information. Either there is a confusion and there’s a dichotomy here where two different things are being told to reps or not. It only worked when I knew where to go, where the people had been working with this company locally.

I wasn't happy with ProtectMyCar. It was difficult submitting a claim and wasn't what I thought it was gonna be. I have a guy that I go to, to work all my vehicles and I already know that no one can beat his prices and I tried to tell them this, but they wanted to wait and look around to see if they could find someone that will do it cheaper but they couldn't. So they came back and told me, "Okay, yeah. We'll go ahead and do this, but you got to pay us all this money that we give to him," minus whatever it was supposed to save me.
They can't compete with the agreement that I have with that guy that when I come in and bring my vehicle to him I leave him a little bit of a deposit, he does my vehicle, I come back, I leave a little bit more money and I check out my vehicle and then I just make some installments to it. They don't have that option available. So it really wasn't for me to have this warranty because sure I saved 200 bucks but all of that money I got to put upfront to save 200 bucks, I don't have it like that. It's a great idea for those that can afford it, but it's not for those that can't.
So I've only had that one time that I've thought about using them trying to make the claim but that didn't work out. They made it sound like insurance and it's not. "If we can't beat their price then you save money. But if we do beat their price, you got to go with the guy we choose." When I put my car in someone's hands, I'm trusting them with my life and I don't trust just anybody with my life. I'm dissatisfied all the way around.

I signed up with ProtectMyCar because I thought they were comprehensive. But when I submitted a claim to them, it took them a week before they came up and looked at the car. Then they ultimately denied the claim saying the car could run without it being fixed. They have to wait until it's completely broken. If you have a part that needs fixing, it has to be completely severed in order for them to fix it. If I had known that, I could’ve gone to the other two companies. I was already going to have to come out-of-pocket with fixing what is not covered which I went on ahead and paid for. That one was fine and I get that. But the other issue is actually covered under the warranty but yet it’s not covered because it’s not severed. So I’m very dissatisfied with ProtectMyCar.

We hope that upon refection you will see how valuable this protection is when your vehicle breaks down.

ProtectMyCar seemed to be good, but it's hard to ask all the questions. I got DriveLine, which I wasn't happy with. It also doesn't make sense to me that they don't cover the bearing on the axle as far as DriveLine. The mechanic told me to double-check it because they told him I wasn't covered, and they covered it. I also had problems with them that they didn't want to cover. The first thing was the transmission. I ended up calling the attorney general's office because they didn’t want to cover it. I guess they talked to him and they called me back and said they would cover it. But the reason they gave me is it was a pre-existing condition. However, when I drove the car, it started getting worse. I thought it was an axle making the noise, but they said it was the transmission.
They also didn’t want to cover the axle because they said the boot was torn and throwing grease. So, I said, "Let me call them at the shop because I looked at it just earlier. I had it jacked up. I didn't see any oil." I was told, "No, the mechanic said the boot was cracked." And the girl in the office explained it as torn and she grease coming out. It’s busted but they won't cover it if that happens. I said, "I looked at the axles. The boots are okay. They all cracked. But there was no grease coming out." They straightened it out and fixed that.

We apologize for the extra time it took but rather than simply denying the claim we took the extra time to get the repair handled and save you a considerable amount on the repair.

When filing a claim, I go to the dealership, hand them over my insurance book, and they call ProtectMyCar who covers the engine, the cooling system, and some other things. But then, there are other things like the muffler, catalytic converter, and the sensors which I paid for myself. If I decide to keep this car, I will see if there's an auto warranty company which also covers the catalytic converter. I won't recommend ProtectMyCar. I tell people, "Find out about these things. Go to a company that covers your sensors and catalytic converter." Maybe as I learn on the way, I'll find out something more to add to that.

Somebody called me and talked to me about ProtectMyCar. She made it sound good, and I went with it. I've had the warranty for almost a year now and when making payments for it, it's taken right out of my account, so my money is on time. But they were not taking care of what they needed to take care. My car broke down in November or something happened to the transmission so I called them to submit the claim in. The car was at home first and the representative told me I could take it to a shop. I found a place to get the car fixed and called them back with the price. The mechanic also called them. But they never called me back to authorize the car to be fixed.
I needed to use a car to get to work so I rented a car and I ended up paying the service done with my car. When ProtectMyCar decided to call me two months later, I told them I paid it myself. I mailed the receipts and they reimbursed only half of the expenses. I also told them about me renting a car and the representative said I'm responsible for the rented car. They didn’t even tell me anything about a rental car provided for me or roadside service. I used my AAA service and had my car towed. ProtectMyCar should explain that there’s a need to do a claim before getting the car fixed and that it takes two months for them to fix the car. If my car breaks down and I call them within 24 hours or a week or more, something should be done and it should not be that long for them to work on it.

The policy pays 50% of the repair cost and that is what you received once the work was completed. In short, you saved far more than the policy premiums that you paid for the coverage. That is what the policy is all about.
Again, we regret the delay in getting the vehicle repaired but are very glad you saved so much money on the repair. Thank you, too, for continuing to be a valued policyholder.

We have had Chrysler's extended service plan and then when that expired we went over to Century, then to another company, Mopar, and had them for a couple of months around. But then the next time they were due to renew our policies, it was going to be as much as $100 more. And it wasn't even going to be for a longer period of time because they would only cover cars for how many miles. And when we look at the mileage, I told myself that I'm going to lose at least 6 months because I'm going to reach the miles before the time expires.
Mopar would have covered more when it comes to electrical transmission engine. We don't have the same broad spectrum coverage with ProtectMyCar but the biggest draw was the fact that with ProtectMyCar we could keep it at the very least as close to what we were already going to have to pay for something more than just two and a half more years. ProtectMyCar is covering the vehicle longer.
My coverage isn't unusually expensive and isn't anything to be super concerned about because we have over 100,000 miles on the truck. But my car doesn't even have 90,000 miles on it yet because it doesn't really get driven a lot. But as far as filing a claim, it didn't seem to be unusually difficult. When I took the car in for service, it was the dealer that went ahead and contacted ProtectMyCar. ProtectMyCar's staff seemed very personable and the dealership had no problems with calling in and getting information.

I had my first experience with them when my transmission went out on my truck, and I was told what to do. They were there for me and when I called them, and they got on it real fast. They said they were doing this and that, what they were on and that they'll let me know what the next step was. They followed up with me real well too. They sent me a booklet and I followed all the instructions to a T. I also got advice from ProtectMyCar. They went ahead and took care of the problem and I only paid $100 for the deductible. The whole transmission changed up which was the way to go. There were no hassles and I was happy.
I live a little bit further down south and ProtectMyCar only covered a certain amount of miles. When I needed roadside assistance, they were there and we took the car to the nearest place. However, there was the matter of the rental car. It takes at least three business days for the transmission work and Saturday and Sunday don't count. That was the only hang-up because I was out of a car and we needed the service adviser from ProtectMyCar to approve of the work. We also didn't know when our car was going to go out.
Our car went out on a Thursday and from Thursday to Sunday, there was nothing going on. It took about two weeks. But overall, they gave me a break on the car rental. At the same time, ProtectMyCar paid the first seven days of the car rental, which was good, although it should have been the first seven business days. And sometimes my husband had to be at work, so I had to follow him to the dealership then take him to work. The policy said that they'll rent him a car but we never got it. The two- or three-hour wait is keeping him off his job. That's also why we have not used any of the other benefits that they offer. And they still did not approve the rental car for the time my husband's truck was being fixed. They said, during the hours that his vehicle was being fixed, he didn't need a rental car. I told them he needs it to get to work, but they still didn't approve it. They're not holding up to the end of their bargain. Both of my vehicles are older and they have high mileage. I liked that ProtectMyCar didn't discriminate on that. A lot of other companies that I called did. It was either the mileage was too high or the car was too old. When ProtectMyCar told me it wouldn't be a factor for obtaining a warranty, it was great. We've now been with them for at least three years and there was only one time where the experience with my claim was arduous. I hope they could cover slightly more stuff and possibly extend their hours. I'm on the West Coast and in order for me to get my car to take advantage of the warranty, it has to be during the operational hours of the company in Florida. So sometimes I'm not able to get the service because they're closed and they close on weekends too. At least be available on Sunday where, generally, everybody is pretty much off.
Other than these, their prices are low and we're happy with the company. I will definitely recommend ProtectMyCar especially to people who have older vehicles and don't want to pay car notes but still want to preserve their vehicles without breaking their bank. The last time I had used them, one of the mechanics was surprised that the company existed and will cover older cars. I have a '98 and his car was 80 something. I had two cars when I signed up with ProtectMyCar. With my Mercedes, I knew that whenever I needed things fixed on it, it was going to be very expensive. From a previous experience, the Buick parts were expensive as well. So, I thought that a warranty would cushion it a little bit. However, everything so far has not been covered no matter how expensive it is. There was one time when they said they will pay half of the deal. They paid about $450, but it took almost a week if not more for them to come out.
When I've called them for about four different situations, they were courteous with my time as far as they took their own time to get out. The only reason I never complained about how long it took them to come out is I have another car. And they finally said they don't cover this and that. So I thought what was my whole purpose of having them in the first place? When I got the warranty, I was told they're gonna do this and that. I had some peace of mind in that. But here I am with a $1000 part almost that is not covered. I've talked to them, but at the end of the day, I'm not a mechanic and don't really know anything about cars. And finally when the car got fixed, I thought that I was supposed to get a rental car. But I didn't get one and nobody asked me. So, I don't trust ProtectMyCar. If I can give them a zero and get my money back, I would definitely do that.

We make it very clear what components are covered and which are not. The reason for this is simple. We want you to know right up front and in writing exactly what is covered with no hidden or confusing terms.

Your policy is very comprehensinve and covers the most expensive components of your vehicle that are likely to break down.
Our policies are intended to help customer with mechanical breakdowns, which are almost always unexpected and very costly. To keep the policy cost down and provided help for the unexpected breakdowns, vehicle breakdown policies do not cover the cost of maintenance and wear and tear items. Adding these services to a policy would make the monthly cost of the policy too expensive for most people, especially for those on a budget.
The repairs you had done were to maintenance items. The purpose of the policy is to pay for covered component failure, not items that must be replaced at regular intervals as they wear out. In short, you can plan ahead for regular maintenance. You can not see a component failure coming. That is where the coverage really helps.

The ProtectMyCar reps that I spoke to over the phone were fairly decent, and making payments is easy because I do it with my credit card. However, it takes forever to get stuff done. My truck sat in the shop for over a week just to get answers. When the shop looked into it, they had to call ProtectMyCar and get approval for the repairs. It ended up taking too long to get your vehicle back and they're not clear on how the payments go to the shop. When I spent $2000, I've only saved $250 on the repairs. That's not worth my monthly payment of 50 bucks. It was a disappointing experience and I'm planning on calling ProtectMyCar to cancel my service.

Our Ambassador series of policies was created specifically for vehicle owners whose vehicles do not qualify for standard extended breakdown coverage, either because of excessive age or miles, or because of pre-existing conditions. The Ambassador family of policies is less expensive than a standard extended warranty and therefore appeal to those on a limited budget.
Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes, free tire rotations and a significant reduction in repair costs (guaranteed 25% reduction of the original estimate of repair costs). They also come with towing, 24 /7 roadside assistance and rental car benefits.
You saved $257.92 on your repairs and maintenance, far more than the cost of the policy to date. So the policy did work well for you.

I got a couple of older cars, a 2002 van and a 1995 Buick Riviera, that are both covered under ProtectMyCar. It is a good name, but I thought a couple of times that I was going to get out of it because I didn't feel like I was getting the response that I wanted on some smaller items. But like everything else, they protect the larger, more expensive items and they don't cover regular operation maintenance and wear that happen, such as brakes, because that's a regular operation maintenance. They sent me a little booklet that showed the picture of the car with the items they cover.
When I had a problem, I took the car to the certified General Motors dealer here. I went through the process of them doing an estimate, submitting it to ProtectMyCar and ProtectMyCar got back with me in a couple of weeks and said they would let this repair go through. The only catch was I had to send them half of the repair cost and they would pay for the total with their corporate card. It still seems a little strange that I have to send half of the cost to the company that I'm already paying every month, then they're going to turn around and pay the total bill. But that's the way they cover themselves so that the other half gets paid and they make sure the dealer gets paid afterward. At that time, I didn't have half of the repair cost. It was a $1,500 repair and they wanted me to send them $700 and something. So I'm waiting until April and then I'm going to try to do it. This will be my first experience.
With what ProtectMyCar is doing, they're trying to make sure they make a profit. They got their monthly payments priced appropriately like any insurance company would, they look at how much you've paid in so far and they look at the age of the vehicle. They calculate that they can cover this percentage of the cost of a repair and they'd still be making profit. It's like they're saving your money for you so they can pay for your repair. I could have been putting the same amount in savings myself, but who's to say that I wouldn't have some other emergency and pull that money out of savings for some other use. So, this way, it does guarantee that ProtectMyCar is keeping up with your money for you, using the bank trust department.
The other thing is if the auto parts that they sell you at the dealer are too expensive, ProtectMyCar will ship in auto parts from another source to save money. They have to make a profit to stay in business and the consumer doesn't get a real fluffy deal. But at least, it's a way to maintain your car.

First of all, the policies help you with the cost of mechanical breakdowns, not regular maintenance or wear and tear items.
Our policies are intended to help customer with mechanical breakdowns, which are almost always unexpected and very costly. Maintenance of a vehicle is something you can schedule and plan for financially. These services are readily available at most repair shops at a discounted rate to attract new customers. To keep the policy cost down and provided help for the unexpected breakdowns, vehicle breakdown policies do not cover the cost of maintenance and wear and tear items. Adding these services to a policy would make the monthly cost of the policy too expensive for most people, especially for those on a budget.

I was on vacation when my coverage with another company expired. I shopped around for another membership because my car is expensive to fix and got a call from ProtectMyCar. They told me the whole deal and I bought it. When I had the issue with my car about 7 months later, I figured I didn't really need them because everything was paid out-of-pocket. They made it sound like they paid because I had to go through them and the garage had to go through them. But I ended up paying for the whole thing on my own when I added all the numbers. For example, the claim was $1,000. What they did was take $1,000 out of my credit card and then they paid the garage. Because they took the money in advance from me, they ended up paying the garage. They made it sound like they paid the garage but they didn't pay anything.
I have nothing against them, but they put me in the dark side. Their mumbo jumbo is very confusing that I don't wanna hear about it any more and just go on with my day. It's a rip off and I sucked it up. They're not caring and don't wear the customer's shoes. They hear and then do what they need to do. They probably need a little bit more training.

I don't feel like ProtectMyCar sticks to their word. When I filed a claim, they told me that if I bought an engine, they would help me pay for it and my repairs. And now, I'm not that mad but I don't want to be affiliated to them.

As explained in the policy, the coverage reduces the cost of repairs by a guaranteed 50% of the original estimate. It pays for the cost of oil changes, tire rotations, towing, rental car reimbursements and emergency road side assistance.
That is why the policy reduced the engine repair cost from $1,500 to $750. Although you did not have the funds necessary to pair the reduced claim cost at that time, the policy did make it easier for you to eventually afford the repair. Without the policy help you would have been stuck with a $1,500 repair bill.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Wow, what an experience! I called Protect My Car to get a price on an extended warranty for my car. The first guy I talked to was a smooth, fast talker, had the "script" down perfectly (even though the "script" was highlighting some things that were not important to ME, but he didn't take the time to understand "ME", he just launched into their standard sales pitch after a couple of questions).
So this guy had not even quoted a price yet, when asked me if I would like to save even more money on the contract, so quickly brought his "budget manager" into the conversation. The budget manager is supposed to be the guy who can offer me the best deal, so "surely" I would want to talk to him, right? Anyway, the budget manager gets on the line and says "forget whatever that first guy told you, I'm going to save you some serious money" (keep in mind, I had not been quoted a price yet). So he "assumes" that the first guy gave me a quote (which he then "repeats"), then he gives me his "better" prices and guess what, the total cost contract (down payment plus monthly payments) with the "better" prices was MORE than the price he assumed that Brad had quoted!!!
On top of that, when I told him I was not responding well to their high pressure sales tactics, he pretended to be "insulted" and proceeded to try to make ME sound like I was "crazy" for not responding positively to his offer. If all else fails, their sales methodology is obviously to make the customer feel "like a fool" for not being interested as a last ditch effort to get the customer to hand over their money.
These guys are the very definition of a "boiler room sales operation"... fast talking, scripted pitch designed to instill fear in the customer to cause them to buy immediately, bring in the "manager" to close the deal with a "better offer", and basically suggest that the customer is CRAZY if he doesn't want to sign up. What a joke. I wish I had recorded this call... It would have been hilarious to listen to with friends and family.
If this is the treatment you get from Protect My Car and they don't even have your money yet, I can just imagine how much fun it must be to get them to honor a contract and pay a claim. Also... CAUTION... This "detail" can be a KILLER. They have an exclusion in their contracts for problems caused by "OVERHEATING"... which could happen to almost any car and would completely void important coverage that you "thought" you had. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM "PROTECT MY CAR" AND YOU WILL BE A LOT BETTER OFF!

I chose other auto warranty providers in the past and they didn't do what they say they will do. They say it but it's false advertisement. I chose ProtectMyCar to see if it works and it does. They said if I didn't like it I'd get my money back. When I called them and I had a problem, it could have been major but they do maintenance if people have something going on with their car and they wanna take it in and have it looked at. They're straightforward with getting the car fixed. I talked to the guy and I trialed it first. I had an older Mercedes and the maintenance or the programs they have are very expensive.
I went to the Mercedes dealership when I submitted a claim. I've never done it online, and taking the car to the dealership and talking with them directly is the best way to get it done. I told ProtectMyCar I was bringing out my car to the Mercedes dealer. They had worked with ProtectMyCar before and they called them. They have good customer service. It took almost 10 days to get my car fixed, though. Even though ProtectMyCar gives you a car, Mercedes gave me a car. I didn't need to use that rental service.
However, they need to explain the payment and how it works. That part is flawed. They should be upfront with that. But because they don't pay the taxes they don't feel they should? That's weird. I had to pay them and they paid the dealership. I had to trust them with $500 and something the first time and I had never used them like that. Also, they set a price like the dealership. It still saves me money but it's not always 50% because they say it's 50% of the cost. Let's say Mercedes charges $1,100 and the consumer cost of that might be $1,000. So, they may say, "We'll pay $550 and you pay $550. But it's $1,100 what they're charging. They don't pay the taxes. You have to pay your payment upfront. And then, when you go in, it's good that all people do is just pick up the car. They electronically send it over to them.
I told them, "Why would you do it like that?" And they said, "When you take your car in, you're gonna have to pay whatever it is right up front and then, we're gonna pay when the car is completed." Which is okay with me, but not to somebody else. They might be thinking that, "I pay that when I pick up my car." But we pay it before they start the job. There's always room for improvement. But they were good. I recommended them to a friend.

Great comments, and we thank you for providing them. Good peace of mind is what this coverage is all about. We are very happy to have been able to help you with the repairs to your vehicle. It really makes sense to protect yourself against these very expensive repairs. The best part is, we are here to help you the next time you need us as well. My recent claim with ProtectMyCar went fine but there was some confusion because I prepaid for it in advance but it took a while to get the check. Then they covered about a third of the repair cost so I wasn't happy about that. Hopefully my truck wont give me more problems and I won't need it. When I was purchasing the warranty, they listed off a bunch of different sets, like having a cap for specific things and I didn't know that. So lesson learned.

On you last repair, we were able to save you over $1,000 and that is what the policy is all about, saving money. That one repair alone saved you more than three time the premiums paid to date.
At that time you also had repair work done to wear and tear items. Policies pay for mechanical breakdowns, not replacement of wear and tear items like tires, shocks or batteries.

Claim submission at ProtectMyCar totally stinks. I lost the serpentine belt, they towed my vehicle in, and put the repair in. According to the contract, I had to pay 50% plus $100 deductible and they only pay 25%. They processed the claim, dealt with the mechanic, and he evidently got paid. But the motor that they got to replace it with was broken and didn't work. He's on the fourth motor now. They're using used motors and a good one for that particular model is tough to find. I feel that the claim should have included a new motor because it's 70 days now, and I haven't got a truck. It's ridiculous. Then they noticed it needed additional parts and said, "Oh, let's start a new work order." I said no as that's another $100 for me. They said they thought they had gotten a good used motor, and I said what they thought and what we got are two different things, and I'm paying for their lack of knowledge.
They should have included the original parts or the possibility of additional parts to rebuilding an engine, but they didn't. Instead, they wanted to start a new claim, and I'm not going to, so I just stopped. I also had a problem the first time because I was paying for the motor on the original deposit, the $180, to start the progress. They called me and said the check bounced, and I said they can put it through another account. My problem is not their problem. I'll pay up-to-date with them. I've been working with a mechanic, myself, because that may come out better. I am totally unhappy with ProtectMyCar. If there's any way I can talk against them without making a crusade out of it, I would.

Your policy reduces the cost of repairs, like an engine replacement, by 25% of the estimate provided by the shop you choose.
We do not tell the shop which engine to use or what parts to purchase on your behalf. While we can understand your preference that the shop replace your engine with a new one, that is a choice you make with the shop. Since your vehicle has well over 150,000 miles on it, it is unlikely that the shop will put in a new engine for the price of used one.
The policy did save you $400 one this one claim, which is ore that the cost of the policy to date. Hopefully, your shop will get an engine that works out for you. we are here to help with that issue as well. Please do not hesitate to let us know if we can help.

I have problems when I go into an establishment to have any work done because they don’t know anything about my auto warranty from ProtectMyCar and they’re skeptical. The first time, there were several phone calls back and forth with the auto shop, myself and ProtectMyCar until the auto shop got it together and believed that such a thing existed.
Then the second time, it was with a one-person shop that I had been doing business with for quite a while. The service was for bigger tires and I was having a lot of work done. The shop said I needed an oil change and I was buying tires so I said, “As long as you’re doing it and you can do the oil change but I have this warranty that pays for my oil change". They said, “I have never heard of such a thing” and I said, “This is the company’s name. You research it and you call me back”. They never called me back but they did the oil change and I never paid for it. Other than that, everything that ProtectMyCar said they would cover has been covered. I was happy I found it and I'm happy that I'm using it. It’s a load off my mind that I have it if I have any need. I would definitely recommend it.

Four months ago, I submitted a claim for a rental car reimbursement. I called ProtectMyCar and they had me resubmit it. So I stayed on the phone with the rep and he said that he received it and the receipts, and he was going to get it over to the department that handles it. But I still haven't gotten or heard anything back from them. I had that rental car from the time I took my car to the shop and we couldn't get them on the phone that Friday. The dealer couldn't get in touch with anybody and nobody from ProtectMyCar called them back. So, my car sat in there over the weekend and I had to have a car on those days. But they said they weren't gonna cover the three days, and they only covered it from Monday through Wednesday. So that came out of my pocket and I didn't like that.

I had a bad experience with ProtectMyCar. I had the car repaired, paid $550, and they sent me back $240. That's crazy. Plus they owe me $1,500 that I let them keep because I had an estimate for a repair and they wanted half the money, which I sent. Then, I decided not to do it. They told me their rep was gonna go to the Jaguar dealership and check to make sure I needed it.
When I called the Jaguar dealership, they told me the car wouldn't need that kind of work. So, I let them hold on the $1,500. But I'm ready to cut my program with them. They're not covering and they give a different price. They will charge one price but can't resolve. They don't wanna pay when the guy is outside the dealer place. And if you go to the dealer, they charge more than ProtectMyCar. I'd like them to pay the going rate out here in the field, not what they wanna pay which is half of what the rate is. Nobody's working on a car for $10, $12, $15 an hour especially with my Porsche.

On the second repair, you paid in $1,438.00 as your portion of the repair cost. When the shop let us know the repair was not necessary and that it was not going to be done, those funds were refunded in full to you.
We do ask that you use a licensed certified mechanic for repairs, We do not require that you use a dealership. You are free to choose any licensed certified mechanic.

I don't like ProtectMyCar. They didn't do a good job with me the last time around. I had a part that needed some work done on it. But they only paid part of the repair and I ended up paying the most of the cost, which wasn't good. Then I got the runaround when they didn't wanna pay the people. I had to pay the man out first and send the money to them. ProtectMyCar kept saying that the people didn't send the fax but I was with the guy when he sent the fax to them a couple of times. They claimed they didn't get the fax number and they didn't do an appraisal on that. They really didn't save me that much money at all and as a matter of fact, I'm gonna drop them because I found out what they do. They pay 1% of the cost.

You saved $265.57 on your repairs and maintenance, more than twice the cost of the policy. So the policy did work well for you.
We do not pay shops until we have received the final invoice and know that the work was preformed in full. This is for your protection.
We do regret that you found the policy did not save as much as you had hoped. Your savings were far more than 1% and you actually saved more than you spent on the policy by a large degree. We hope that upon reflection you will understand how valuable the policy is to you.

The person I bought my car from didn’t get a warranty so I went snooping around to see what warranty place I could find that fit into my budget. I ended up with ProtectMyCar. I submit my claim to them over the phone and for the recent one I filed, it pretty much covered what I needed to be covered. Making payments for purchasing the warranty has been tough, though. The way that some of the jobs are, some days you don’t make enough money ‘cause your hours are cut down in half. Otherwise, my overall experience with ProtectMyCar has not been too bad although there are things that could be better like the price could be changed a little bit. They could also have a way to make payments that cover all of your balance instead of doing a half payment to get your car fixed 'cause sometimes it's hard for people to do.

Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is anything we can do for you.

My friend told me about ProtectMyCar. I googled “extended warranty” and they were the first to pop up. Submitting a claim with them was not a bad experience. It just takes a couple of days. I gave the card for the warranty to my mechanic and he contacted them to make the claim. After that, I needed to call them to confirm that I want to have my car fixed and they told me how much money I would have to pay. I gave them the authorization to take the money from my credit card, because they only take 50%, so the other 50% they needed to take from my credit card.

At first, I thought ProtectMyCar was some kind of insurance but now, I know that it's not. I talked to them over the phone for a claim and it was the worst experience. Right now, my car has been stuck in the shop for four weeks because I have to go through too much back and forth. I called over 30 or 40 times for someone to answer the phone. I didn't know I had to send them the money first and then they will send the money to the mechanic. And if I wanted to rent a car, I had to pay the rent a car first, then get the reimbursement after. I don't feel that that makes sense. I don't have money to pay them first. And the warranty is not really saving me anything. They are supposed to pay 75 percent and I pay the 25. I have talked to several people and they feel like it's a problem.

We understand that if you don't have the funds to pay the reduced repair cost, or to get a rental car, it would certainly have been a struggle to pay the full cost of the repair and the full cost of the rental.
The policy has paid out over $400 in claims so far. That's more than twice the amount of the premiums, so it has been of help. We hope that upon reflection, you will see how much the policy has actually benefited you.

I wanted to find out more about ProtectMyCar so I went with them. I have them call the repair shop and they gave ProtectMyCar an estimate. Submitting the claim was an easy process and everything else was nice until the payment time came. Instead of me paying the repair shop my half, what I ended up doing is paying it up with ProtectMyCar and they paid the repair shop. This caused a confusion with me and the repair shop because I paid, but for some reason they didn’t get the payment. I’m paying $41 a month and they only cover 10% which I think should be a little bit more. I bought the transmission and had them put it in but I still ended up paying them. I could've just paid out cash. But other than that, everything was smooth. Them calling me and letting me know everything was smooth.

We are glad to have saved you this amount on just this one repair.

I needed warranty because my other one expired and they did not do used cars, older model cars any longer. My car's not old but it runs like a champ. I had it through my insurance company and they cancelled the coverages so I got ProtectMyCar. I had a claim. My mechanic was a little taken aback the way the process worked. He said he never had an extended warranty refund like that before where I had to pay the warranty people and then they paid him. It was a little bit roundabout so we were both a little unhappy about that and they didn't cover as much as I thought they were going to cover. The mechanic gave an estimate that came in a different value and the actual cost came in at a lower value but the insurance carrier paid the percentage on the estimated value which ended up giving me less of a coverage. So it was frustrating and not as pleasant an experience as it had been in previous insurance coverages.

I got a warranty from ProtectMyCar because I was paying my car off and I knew the insurance I had with the car wouldn't be there anymore. The warranty for the car was going away. But, it has been lousy because ProtectMyCar.com quoted me more than what the mechanic did. They wanted me to give them more money than the mechanic so I don't see how that was saving me any money. The mechanic had the bill there and it was $100 plus what ProtectMyCar wanted me to give them. So, I paid the mechanic and told ProtectMyCar, forget it. Their rep wouldn't even talk to the guy at the garage. He just wanted to talk to me and the guys at the garage knew more of what needed to be fixed on the car. I couldn't understand why they didn't want to talk to them because when I had the other thing done at Workmasters they talked to the guy.
I was told from the beginning that they were supposed to be paying 80% and then I pay the co-payment of 20%. I've been paying almost $50 a month and they didn't even want to pay that. They were telling me they were just getting me discounts. It wasn't supposed to be a discount but a repair insurance. I pay the car insurance and if something happens they pay for what needs to be fixed and I pay the deductible. That's what it's supposed to be. But this time that's not what they're telling me. And they weren't even calling them ProtectMyCar, they were calling themselves something else.

We do not "charge" for repairs. We we do with this coverage is reduce the charge estimated by the shop.
The policy does not have co-pays or deductibles. As you know, we pay for oil changes, tire rotations, towing, rental car reimbursement and minimum 25% savings on repair costs.
Since the policy and your paperwork clearly shows our shows our name, Protect My Car, and since the policy does not provide for co-pays or deductibles, and since we do not charge customers for repairs,it is likely you are referring to some other policy issued by another company. Compare the two and you will see right away how beneficial this policy is in saving you money. Please call us if we can help straighten out that issue for you.

I needed some insurance on my car since it's an older car. I got one from Protect My Car and I sure didn’t like the nonsense that they all pulled. When I submitted a claim, I went over there and gave the notice to the people that were gonna fix my car. They said they can’t get a hold of anybody and they can’t do anything until they hear from ProtectMyCar because that’s the way they have it written down in the paperwork. So my car sat there all weekend because nobody was available to answer or to pay anything.
ProtectMyCar gave me the runaround. I kept calling them. The first time all they said, “You gotta give us your credit card number, and we’re gonna pay all of it from here." And we’re only gonna pay $100 and some. The total came out as $600, and they only paid $100. They put it up and say, “We’ll save you hundreds of dollars.” I have a $600 bill. I might as well just paid it off all myself. Also when I finally got a hold of somebody, they had me on the line holding like it didn’t matter if I was there or not. When they finally decide to answer the phone, that’s the nonsense they gave me with. When I also tried to get an oil change, they said it’s in the contract, but it’s too soon. You can’t tell me what my car needs and my car doesn’t need. I don’t have to wait for them to give me an approval, so I just take my car in to go get an oil change.

You are certainly entitled to have an oil change paid for under the policy. However, we do not send you money to get an oil change when you get ready to do one. Simply have the shop call us so that we can pay the shop directly over the phone for the service.

We had a warranty before on our car and it expired. My husband thought it would be a good idea to get a warranty on the car again so we chose ProtectMyCar. However, submitting a claim to them was a crazy experience. ProtectMyCar told me to go over to the mechanic's shop and have the mechanic call them to let them know what he would be doing and how much the final bill would be. They said they would pay their portion once I paid mine to the mechanic. That didn't work out well because ProtectMyCar kept quoting me different prices of how much it would be to fix my car.
I spoke to different mechanics whenever I would call the shop to find out what was going on with my car. They would have to call ProtectMyCar first who would tell the mechanic if what he would do to the car was under warranty or not. The mechanic was just as confused as I was and he said he has never worked with anybody like that before in his life. When the mechanic faxed them a copy of the invoice, that's when they started picking it apart and saying what they did not cover. Moreover, that's not what they said in the beginning because the mechanic said he would have pulled back but he thought that what he was doing to my car was under warranty.
In the end, it was almost $3,000 to get the car fixed. ProtectMyCar only paid the mechanic a little over $400 and so, I still had to pay the biggest portion of that deal. I was not pleased with that at all. The mechanic kept my car for over two weeks. When the final payment came down, I had to pay over $2000 before they would release my car. ProtectMyCar said that a lot of the stuff the mechanic did was not under warranty.
Lastly, I was told that I would get a rental car for each day that my vehicle was in the shop. However, ProtectMyCar only gave me three days at $30 a day. I feel that ProtectMyCar and the mechanics need to talk to each other. It felt that my case was new to each person and I have to start all over every time. That was very dissatisfying for me to have to go through.

The recent repair you did covered mechanical components as well as the replacement of belts, hoses, gaskets and related items. These are maintenance items not covered under a mechanical breakdown policy. The purpose of the policy is to pay for covered component failure, not items that must be replaced at regular intervals as they wear out, like tires, belts, gaskets, batteries and the like. In short, you can plan ahead for regular maintenance. You cannot see a component failure coming. That is where the coverage really helps. The savings on this one repair alone were more than three times the policy premiums you had paid in.
Remember too, we do not determine what repairs need to be made. That is the shops job. The estimate to repair your vehicle did change during the repair process. That is normal for extensive repairs. The shop often finds additional repairs that need to be done while they are working on the vehicle. That is why the estimate changed.
Lastly, the policy does reimburse you up to $30 per day for up to three days on rental car expense.
No policy, no matter who issues it, will pay 100% of a repair bill on a vehicle with over 100,000 miles on it. Our policies are meant to reduce those repair costs, not eliminate them. It will continue to help with those costs.
Thanks again for your comments and for continuing to have this coverage on both of your vehicles.

I took my car for an oil change and it's free for three a year. I was at a Ford dealership and I have to call ProtectMyCar first when I need work on it. The guy goes on hold for like 25 minutes trying to get authorization. And then when it was all done, it took him another 45 minutes on hold just to get it paid for. And the shops don’t even like dealing with ProtectMyCar at all. ProtectMyCar say that they have a relationship with Pep Boys. When I go to Pep Boys, the first time I took my car in, they didn’t even know anything about them.
I got charged by Pep Boys and they won’t let me have my car until I could give them the whole $800 and something. I did that and ProtectMyCar paid me back what they owed me. That was all fine but it was time-consuming and seemed to be more of a pain in the butt than anything else. They slashed 25% off even though I can even get more up to 50%. Then not being able to cover catalytic converters is crazy because the car will not move without it. I was doing 28 miles an hour top speed before I had taken care of. But the claims rep was professional. He got right to the point that they don’t cover emission components so I paid $775 real quick.
ProtectMyCar sounded like a good company. Whenever I deal with them and have a problem, they’re very nice. It just takes a while. Making payments was very easy. I authorize them to take it out automatically. But for the technicians, it’s hard for them to get ahold of ProtectMyCar on the phone in the heat of the moment. They have 10 different phone numbers, so they’re nationwide. They should have better phone etiquette for the service shops. They should be available during the day when the shops are open, so no reason to hang and wait to contact them on the phone.

I have two claims with them, so far. They helped me out one time with locking my keys in the car. And then they helped me out twice again with my mechanic. The mechanic called them and I had some stuff repaired.
As for the payments, I don't wait for them to send me the statement each time because it never comes on time. So, I proactively pay because I want to make sure that if I need a repair, I won't have a problem making sure that it gets paid for. When they send you a coupon, then they'll charge an extra $5 and something. I don't need the extra charge because I'm paying them a month enough already. So, I send it ahead of time. After doing some due diligence and customer reviews and quotes, ProtectMyCar's plan which was a 50-50 split where they pay 50% of repairs was the most attractive to me over the other companies. However, the shops that I've worked with had misdiagnosed the problem with my jeep two or three times. All of them said that there would need to be a very expensive part replaced. Then I gave the 50% of the total cost to the shop that ProtectMyCar authorized to do work and the shop said they can't really lay out all the cash for the $1,400 part I need.
I called ProtectMyCar again and they called me back and said, “Okay. We're gonna refund your money then you buy the part. Then you just pay the bill and call us at the time of bill payment. We'll pay our half with the credit card,” which is the way they operate for oil changes. This was right around the Christmas holiday. I was gonna move forward with my guys. They couldn’t fit in the end before a trip that I had at Christmas.
I went to another shop that I did research on and trusted that could’ve fit me. I got the truck there to ask them to replace the turbo, which was what had been diagnosed by both the dealership and my mechanic. They called me about 45 minutes later and asked why I want to replace the turbo. I said, “Well, because two shops told me that’s what I needed to do, that it wasn’t making any boost.” He said, “Well, you're right. It wasn’t making any boost. But we found a loose clamp, and when we tightened it, your boost is working.”
I called ProtectMyCar and said that the $3,000 repair we were gonna split became a $300 repair and I'm just going to send them the invoice for what I paid and if they can repay me back the half of that. But they denied it two or three times all because they didn’t authorize the work. I get it. I didn’t call them when the mechanic called me and said that they don’t need to replace my turbo.
I was seconds away from canceling and just going somewhere else. I still might, but at the end of the day, it's auto drafting and I'm gonna get my oil change here this month. Then I'm taking the trip to Florida in two weeks. I also drive it to Vermont every summer from South Carolina. So, a warranty will be kept on it. Whether or not it remains to be ProtectMyCar is yet to be seen after that experience. I saved them and me thousands of dollars and then they wanted to dicker over the $150 I was asking for. Also, I used a rental car once for the day that they were gonna replace the turbo but they didn't cover it because I ended up only using it for two hours. Overall, be very cautious and never do anything without calling them first. And make sure you get it recorded or in writing that they're gonna cover it because it seems to me they're playing a game.

Plus, I paid the $122 to him to get caught up.
They should tell me upfront instead of waiting until I pay my money and I didn't appreciate that. That made me feel so bad. I know I’m owing for this month but hadn't paid yet because I was trying to decide whether or not I'm going to stay because I didn't like the way that was played out. Overall, I'm very dissatisfied. I was telling the people about it and I was going to recommend people to them. But after this last experience that I had, there ain't no way I would recommend anybody. I'm thinking about trying to find another warranty company to deal with.

Your policy does help with the repairs to your cooling system components. Hoses, however, even those attached to the cooling system, are wear and tear items and no policy covers those. Wear and tear items, like hoses, tires and gaskets do wear out over time and have to be replaced. Policies are intended to cover the breakdown of components in your vehicle.
Having said that, we were happy to help you with the repair cost you paid out of pocket by discounting you premiums $400.
Since you have had the policy it has saved you over $900 in costs for maintenance and repairs. Thats over twice the premiums you have paid in. We hope that after reflection you sill see how valuable this coverage has been to you and will be in the future.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you still have questions or if there is anything we can do to help you.

I bought a 2011 Ford F-250. It was a couple of years old and was a showroom truck but it was new. I had about 70,000 at that time and so I was asking a co-worker and he said he and his wife had used ProtectMyCar on one of their vehicles. Then I did some research online and they called me back within a couple of days. And then I’ve been receiving phone calls up to almost seven months later. They were just now getting to it.
We bought three ProtectMyCar packages on three different vehicles. One for my new truck, one for my mom’s vehicle and then another one for my fiancée’s vehicle. My mom and my fiancée had not used them though but they’ve been good to me, so far. They wouldn’t cover some issues but my insurance covered that. Unfortunately, I had a sensor that went out and ProtectMyCar covered it. I had to pay $100 deductible. But my mirrors quit working and they said they wouldn’t cover those which was the only disappointing part about it. They said if the switch went out, they’d have covered the switches. But when I originally talked to their rep, he said it covers the starter, the whole drive train and any electrical. I asked him, “Even the mirrors?” “Oh, yeah, the mirrors are covered.” But they wouldn’t cover them. So, I had to pay out of pocket for the mirrors which were expensive.
My truck’s currently in the shop getting a brand new motor because there’s some malfunction but it’s already paid for through the insurance with some other stuff. So, as soon as I get down to the shop, I'll trade the truck in and then I’m going to go to a different place that covers mirrors and stuff. It’s an $80,000 truck and I paid around $5,000 for extension warranty and it wouldn’t even cover a mirror. But the claim that they did cover went smooth. The technicians called ProtectMyCar, and they came out and looked at it, and said it’s a warranty issue. The technicians put the Ford OEM part on it. I went in, paid my deductible and got the truck.

Thanks again for your comments. We look forward to hearing from you any time you have any questions.

ProtectMyCar happened to be the second auto warranty provider I got a hold of as the first one I got, the price was too high. I've submitted a claim with them over the phone and it was fairly simple. The claim rep was very mindful of my situation. He spoke very kindly, and was very empathetic in regards to what was going on with my car. He guided us very clearly and precisely to what we needed to accomplish to make sure that everything went well. It was very prompt and the only slowdown was on my behalf because I had to get the money together. It was great to deal with ProtectMyCar. I've already recommended them to a friend.

The first claim was difficult to process. It took over three hours and I didn't like the percentage that they took off which was only 25%. It may have a lot to do with being a new member. With the second claim, I got 50% and it went by a little smoothly. However, ProtectMyCar only does repairs on broken pieces or anything that needs to be fixed based on the distributor or transmission or a motor mount. They don’t fix things like a break pad. And I don't know how much is the monthly payment based on the approving process that ProtectMyCar has.

Your policy reduces repair costs on mechanical breakdowns. During the first 15 days of the policy, the savings are guaranteed to be 25% of the repair costs. After the first 15 days the savings are guaranteed to be 50% of the original repair estimate. The policy also pays for oil changes and tire rotations, towing, rental car benefits and 24/7 Roadside assistance.
The policy helps with mechanical breakdowns, not wear and tear items such as brake pads, replacing worn tires and the like.

I have ProtectMyCar for it said it was mechanical and because somebody told me I could get a military discount from them but I thought they offered regular insurance. I didn't know that it was only for mechanical things. Then I took my truck to the AAMCO and the man didn't properly fix my vehicle and charged me a lot of money. I had to pay ProtectMyCar for my deductible, which I thought was $500 but turned out to be $527. Then I had to turn around and pay him $1,005 or $1,015 just to get my truck. He beat me out of my money and lied. My check engine light was still on, my heating unit's not working and he didn't put my whatever cap back on.
On top of that, he gave me three different estimates and told me that the shop wasn't open on a Saturday. But I happened to get a ride and the shop was open on a Saturday. So I felt like he held my truck longer than he was supposed to. And when I had my truck there for all those days, I couldn't get a rental car. And if I was able to get one, it was going to have to come out of my pocket until ProtectMyCar reimbursed me. They also said that labor should be $89 and this man charged me $104. That's not right. He’s supposed to honor the agreement but he's gone back and forth over money.
Then ProtectMyCar would like to take my truck back there. But the man didn't even do a good job. Also, ProtectMyCar didn't pay for my battery, my starter or my alternator. I did all of that and paid a cheaper rate. When my husband got into an accident with my truck, I didn’t have to pay my insurance company. I only had to pay the auto mechanic $500.
I've been calling ProtectMyCar ever since December about a dispute on this. It's already end of March and I'm still waiting to hear from them. They just keep going back and forth. One minute I'm going to get a refund, the next minute they don't know what's going on. I keep talking to all these different people and I'm sick of it. I don't feel that I should be paying anymore monthly payments and I want to cancel this because it's too much of a hassle and is costing me too much money. I've spent more money trying to use ProtectMyCar than with my regular insurance with my discounts. I'm very dissatisfied with them and I feel like I don't really need them. I could find parts at a cheaper rate and that's what I've been doing at Advance Auto. I could also use my military discount there.

The only reason we suggested you take the vehicle back to that shop is because we convinced them to redo the work on a warranty basis, free of charge to you.
Rather than a deductible, this policy reduces repair costs on covered repairs by fifty percent, as well as paying for oil changes, towing and rental car reimbursement.
Once you have had an opportunity to see how much the policy has actually saved you, compared to the cost of the policy, you will realize what a wise investment it is. You just need to make sure the next shop you take the vehicle to is one you can trust.

ProtectMyCar called me and I was able to talk to them. Actually, I got them confused but that's who I ended up going with. They talked to me and I thought they explained the program. I thought what I had signed up for, according to the radio ad, "get the warranty and not worry about the cost again". But when I had a claim, they told I only get half the cost because that was the plan that I got. They should be honest and upfront with what type of program you're getting and what you're paying for. They told me it was in the brochure they sent me but it has nothing to do with that, it's what I signed up for. You listen to the commercials and it says to not worry about expensive car repairs again. For the cost of the warranty, there's no way I would have signed up for that. $4,000 or $3,000 for the warranty and then I'm gonna pay half my cost? It wasn't worth it. But, they set up payments pretty easy.
Also, it's been two months and I'm still waiting to get my car. But it's not all totally their fault. I didn't have the half of the money, because I wasn't planning on having to come up with $1,300 so, part of it was my fault. When I got the money, I sent them the check and they were having a hard time with my mechanic. He's a foreigner and didn't understand them. I've been with him for about 10 years and I don't have any problems. But apparently, he did not understand the process and they've been going back and forth. Then, they put the motor in but it was no good, which isn't their fault either. So now, we're waiting on another motor. If I didn't have the expense of paying for the warranty, my mechanic would have just made arrangements for me like he's done in the past. It's just not been a good experience.

Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes, free tire rotations and a significant reduction in repair costs, anywhere up to 45% of the original estimate of repair costs. They also come with towing, 24 /7 roadside assistance and rental car benefits.
Upon reflection we are sure you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage. Again, thank you for your comments.

ProtectMyCar has real good customer service and every time I spoke with someone they're always friendly and courteous. I decided to call them because of my car and they said they had a good deal as far as warranty on the cars. They work pretty good with me and submitting a claim has been pretty easy. I call with the information they need for what was wrong with my car. Once I submitted everything and they got my claim rolling, they would just be waiting on me to make my payment for my car.

I had an extended warranty with another company prior and it ran out. ProtectMyCar called me and the dollar amount was a little less than what I had paid previously so, I went ahead and purchased the insurance. It was easy getting it. They told me what it was gonna be and I submitted my credit card for it. So far, I've only used them once. We submitted the claim through the dealership and they called it in. I've paid the deductible that was required then, I got a call from the dealership that they hadn't been paid yet. I contacted ProtectMyCar and they let me know when it was gonna be paid. The dealership notified me when they received the payment which was a couple of days later but it I don't think the delay was a big issue. Other than that, it was a very positive experience.

Our primary goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide good peace of mind.
We are very happy to have helped you so much with the recent repair. For your protection we issue payments promplty upon receipt of the final invoice and after making sure the repair was handled in a satisfactory manner.
Thanks once again for your comments. Remember the best part, too. We are still here to help again when the need arises.

ProtectMyCar had good things to provide for the insurance. Their representatives were very nice and attentive. Also, they were very helpful when I was submitting a claim over the phone. It wasn't hard to get in touch with anybody. Moreover, I've used their 24/7 roadside assistance and they had someone out in 45 minutes. They were there for whatever I needed.

I got a call from Protect My Car and they gave me the better deal. When I needed a claim like when I had to have my transmission rebuilt on my Durango, I brought it to the garage I needed to and they called and started a claim with the warranty company. The claim was done over the phone. The process was a little slow, though. My vehicle would have been ready a whole lot sooner but we were dealing with the warranty company. They had to go at their pace and not at that of the garage's pace, so instead of having the car on Wednesday, I almost couldn't get it until the following Monday.
The garage had the car for seven days. In the end, Protect My Car paid 25% of the cost. Other than the slowness, they were fine. Making payments was fine too, although my bank was broke so they didn't get their payment 'til the next day before I can make my next payment. I have recommended Protect My Car to a few people and a couple of them are interested in getting their warranty program.

It is true that some repairs by their nature can be more time consuming. It is important to get the repair right the first time. We appreciate your patience while we made sure the transmission repair was completed correctly.

I happened to be home when ProtectMyCar called and the person that talked to me on the phone really did a good job of explaining about ProtectMyCar and answered a lot of questions. The company sent me the quote I wanted, the papers showing me exactly what it was that was going to be covered, how the policy was going to be and was very upfront with everything. Their rep took the time and made sure that she was emailing me the information that I needed to see. She did the sale with me online and was really helpful. It made the whole transaction very smooth. My husband looked it over because he’s a retired master tech.
The claim was fine, except for the fact that in their shipping the engine to the dealership, the engine got lost for a week. The labor to replace the engine was 24.5 hours. It’s an expensive job and what should have only taken about a week but we ended up not getting the car back for a month. It started during the Thanksgiving holidays and the second week was when the engine got lost. The dealer had the car sitting there for two weeks and couldn’t find the engine. He called to tell me he was calling the parts department back again to find out where the engine was at. The parts department called him right up and said that the engine just walked through the door. At that point, it was about 2.5 weeks in.
It was fairly easy making payments for the purchase, though. They did the payment plan and there was going to be no problems if we sold or disposed of the car at some point in time before it ended. I understood that at that point, the policy will end right there and no further payments will be required. This was a much better deal, especially because I could do monthly payments instead of paying everything all upfront at once. I’ve been telling people about ProtectMyCar but it would be helpful, though if they sent me an email that had a link that I could forward to other people who are interested.

Thank you, too, for referring folks to us. We will treat them with just as much respect as we do you. Remember, if you referred someone to us who now has a policy we say thank you with a Visa gift card. Please let us know who you have referred so we can thank you this way
