    I'm happy with ProtectMyCar. I filed a claim recently and I find the process to be easy. The first one had to do with a certain part that got delayed. One of my cars was in for repair and they said they could get the part overnight but they had a little bit of a time lag. They offered a rental car for a few days. Then it took three weeks to get the part. But they helped me a little bit on the rental car costs. The second time I filed a claim had to do with my hydraulic pump which went straightforward. I just took it into the shop and the shop talked to them. So they've been good overall.

    ProtectMyCar reps showed up at my door and I got interested. I had wanted an auto warranty and then we got in touch with each other and I picked it up. Making the payments for purchasing the warranty is easy. The claims process is good and real easy, too. I went online to put in a claim for the transmission put in my truck and the claims representatives are good. I've also used their roadside assistance.

    ProtectMyCar sent me a letter and they offered to cover things. I thought it looked okay so I took it. I read the book that they gave about parts and it said they could cover it. Then I've had problems with my bearings in my car and I tried to fix it with them. They said they don’t cover it because I didn’t understand that part has come in one piece or a whole thing together. They told me that they only cover the hub and I thought that the bearings are in the hub. Also, when I started making payments with them I got a number for myself when they’ve taken the money out in the bank. I changed the number then they tried to get it and it didn’t work. They then had to call and ask me about it and I gave them the number. But they're okay so far.

    I had been looking at different auto warranty places because I needed extended warranty on my car. I got a call from ProtectMyCar and they offered a good deal, so I accepted it. During the claims process, I was explained everything that needed to be done. When I took my car in, my gear shift wasn’t getting stuck in park but directly after I left, I stopped for a train to go past, put my car in park and I had to set it off and back on in order for it to come out of park and drive. The dealership said they didn’t do anything and called the extended warranty people. Both of them called me back and told me that the gearshift assembly wasn’t covered under my contract so I still haven’t gotten it done and the dealership is charging me $300 if I want it done. I want to know why it wouldn’t be fixed and what happened as to how it started. I never had a problem with it until I put the car in their hands. Other than the dealership charging ProtectMyCar one price and charging me another, everything was fine.

    Thank you first of all for being a policyholder. Over the course of you policy we have paid out over $2,300 in repairs, about three times the premiums paid to date. That's a great return on your money.
    The policy does not pay for maintenance or wear and tear items. If it did the cost would be many times greater. The policy covers unexpected mechanical break downs. As you have seen, it helps quite a bit.

    A friend of mine told me how good ProtectMyCar was so I joined the club. I had filed a claim once before about a rack that I'm paying and the process was easy. I had a dealer and it was them who called that claim in to ProtectMyCar. However, it got an oil leak on it and they can't fix it. I took it to the shop and had it fixed, but it still got this oil leak in it. That's the only thing I don’t like.

As comprehensive as your policy is, remember that it covers mechanical break downs. it is not intended to cover regular maintenance or wear and tear items, like seals, batteries, gaskets or tires.     ProtectMyCar got a good price so I got their auto warranty. It's easy to make payments for my warranty purchase. I filed my claim over the phone and I've just used them once when the condenser in my air conditioning was broken. At the beginning I had some disagreement with the claims rep about the coverage, but everything was taken care of at a later time. However, they promised me that they were going to give me a free oil change, but they were trying to give me just the standard oil change, and my car doesn't use standard oil. I asked them to do the high-grade oil change instead, and I had to fight this out with them a little bit. I could be angry because they gave me a hard time, but maybe I wasn't speaking to the right person, so I requested the person I was talking with to speak to the supervisor. When I called the supervisor, I was denied. But overall, I'm satisfied with ProtectMyCar.

    We do not tell our policyholders which oil to use when we pay for an oil change. You are free to use any type of oil you deem best. We pay the price for whatever oil the manufacturer recommends. You only pay for any difference between the cost of that oil and the type of oil you choose to use.     My car has an extended auto warranty from ProtectMyCar and they were the only one that I dealt with. Submitting a claim was easy for me since I didn't have to do anything. The business that does the work on vehicles was the one who called and ProtectMyCar had to okay it before they start the work. However, I was disappointed with it because all they did was cover the air conditioner. It was a little over $3,000 and the tie rods, shocks and its suspension that needed to be fixed wasn't covered. So I'm paying $100 a month just to have my air conditioner covered. They don't cover anything that can go wrong with the vehicle. I paid $3,600 and I get no use out of it. I only got a month or two to pay and I wouldn't do it again. It's not worth it.

    I would not recommend ProtectMyCar to anybody, not even my worst enemy. I had my car at the dealer trying to get the leak fixed. The dealer called them and between the two of them, it took 21 days to fix my car. I had other repairs that should have been covered but I didn't know I had their coverage so I sent forms in. They called a couple of days after I sent those in and said that there was some chance of me getting a rebate on some of those repairs but I haven't heard from them since. They started June of last year and deducted payment again last June which makes 13 months. It was supposed to be only 12. I'm very disappointed with ProtectMyCar.

    I got a ProtectMyCar sales call and then I went with them. In the last claim I submitted, there's been no word from them at all after I gave the estimate. I didn’t have contact with them about the repair so I had to take care of it myself and it's been difficult. I also tried to use them for the oil change but they refused it saying it's not for this particular car.

    I had a bad experience with ProtectMyCar. Two years ago I took my car to get an oil change and on the paperwork they claim that there was no oil in the car but everybody that drives a car know that it has to have oil in it for it to drive for it would have been locked up on me. Three months ago, my engine broke down on it. I called for them to give me a new engine. They wouldn't even come and check the engine out. They blamed everything on that event two years ago. All I'm doing is finishing out what I've started with them because I had given them all the money that I had and I'm paying them when this happened. All the cars that they all deal with are old cars. I ain't got new car so if something goes wrong with one of these old cars and something happened two years ago, they shouldn't use that against me.

    ProtectMyCar offered more of what I needed so I purchased my auto warranty from them. Making payments was easy, it's always easy to take the money, but the warranty doesn't cover as much as what the salesman was selling me at first. Filing a claim was a little better than difficult. It's been a timely process but sometimes it doesn't go as smoothly as I would like it to. No one knows anything. The claims reps have to call me back to make sure that what I need done is covered. Then nine times out of ten, it's not covered. Also, sometimes the reps have attitudes. I'm in the customer service too so I would expect my customer service standards to be a lot better, especially if the majority of things that I need done is not covered as of yet.

    I got a call from ProtectMyCar just when one of my warranties expired and they sent me a quote. I talked to my wife and we were okay with it. I have it on automatic payments -- really simple and not expensive. The claims process is also simple. You call them, they check and they basically handle everything with the dealership. But I had a bad experience with one of my son's claims but we talked it out with the agent and we moved it up to the manager level. The manager addressed the issue right away. He called me back and said, "Hey, listen. I'm sorry for the way you're treated. We're gonna cover the part." They did the right thing at the end of the day and so far I'm happy with ProtectMyCar.

    ProtectMyCar was the only company to give me a warranty on the vehicle that I have. The payment was easy when I purchased the warranty. All I had to do was give them the card number. I only submitted one claim, which turned out to be two claims. It was hard because the percentage of what I had to pay was really high. Moreover, most of their claims representatives hang up when they know I'm calling. I don't know if they have a caller ID that will block my call but it's like they're screening the call. They answer and tell me to hold on and then hang up.

    They could be a little better with the percentage of the cost. They told me that I could take the vehicle anywhere, which I did. I took it to a presentable shop where there was a dealer and they said they had to change a fuel pump on the vehicle. ProtectMyCar sent the dealership two different fuel pumps and none of them worked. My vehicle was in the shop for at least two months, and we were going back and forth. They said they were going to send them a new fuel pump. Finally, the dealer suggested to put in the OEM fuel pump that they have, but ProtectMyCar didn't want to cooperate with that so they sent another fuel pump and still it didn't come back how it's supposed to. When the dealer popped it in, it didn't start the vehicle. I had a rough time and didn't even have a car to get around.

    ProtectMyCar sent me the brochure, I looked it over and they gave me five years - the sixth year free. They reduced me to $38 a month. So far they're the best I've ever seen. Everybody I talked to on the phone is professional. They try to help you in any way they could and that's what their rep did. I was paying $54 and he had seen that I wasn't covered on one of my problems that I had and when I went to put it on, they charged me an amount just to put it on the lift. So he told me, "Don't worry about it. You gotta be paying $38 a month now. That's what I'll give you." I had a couple of things done and they had no problem. They paid it right off. I guarantee they're a good company.

    People go “Why do you pay that for an extended warranty?” I say I just want to simplify my life. Because to me, it's like a layaway plan. That way, if something goes wrong with your car, you're hoping it's going to go under the warranty. If my car breaks down, I want to be able to get on my phone and call a tow company, and if I need to, get a rental car. Especially here in Nevada where it's 105 out. So I've been with ProtectMyCar for quite sometime, and I even extended it longer. I have the contract I'm under right now paid off. Everything goes smooth on the company's end when it comes to claims. They also made payments convenient for me. When I got my daughter to get extended warranty with them too, they gave me a little perk of deducting from what my charges would have been. I got the same type of benefits for a little cheaper.

    When I spoke with the rep of ProtectMyCar, I liked all the information he gave me. At that time, I didn't have the money and so when I got my check, they took the payment out of it. I've used their rental benefits twice and everything was fine. However, when I submitted a claim because my F-250 4x4 wasn't engaging, they told me it was not covered. When I first talked to the rep, he told me that 4x4 was covered under the policy. Also, when I got my papers back, it has nothing on there saying that I have an F-250 4x4 and I don't like that.

    The claim you filed that was denied was to the glow plug and clock spring, relatively minor repairs to non-covered components. The policy does help with the major components in your vehicle as you have seen.

    So far I've had two claims with ProtectMyCar. The first claim I got a rental and they didn’t inform me about the amount of time. We got the reimbursement back for the rental that I had but there was money lost. The second time I didn't get a rental but the claim process was very difficult because I had to borrow somebody else’s car and the dealership held my car for a number of days. ProtectMyCar approved the claim the same day that the dealership sent it. It was just a lot of stuff and I was upset because by the time that ProtectMyCar responded back to them they could have ordered my parts and they could have been done.

    ProtectMyCar has been good to me. The price was reasonable and when I couldn't make my payment, I called them and they adjusted the payment for me, which was great. I never really had a serious problem with them. Everything I put through went through. I went to the dealer, the dealer called them up and they gave the dealer the okay to fix my car once the problem was diagnosed. There's still something wrong with the car so I have to take it back to the dealer.

    I got a random phone call from ProtectMyCar and they asked if I had a car insurance. I said I didn't but I had an old car. I didn’t think they’d do it, but they did. When I had to submit a claim, it did take extra days for somebody to come out to a Chrysler dealership to see what was wrong with my car, but I got a rental car for the extra time they took to come out so I wasn’t without a car. I did have something else that was wrong with my car that they didn’t cover, but the transaction that I did have with them was easy. The only thing that I didn’t like about the experience was when I called up and told them I no longer wanted it, they said I had to fax them the little back part of my book to get a refund because they had taken the money out the day before. I did but I still haven’t heard back from them and I still haven’t got a refund.

    I’m not that too much happy with ProtectMyCar. I got an older model, a Mercedes and there’s not too many people that’s still in the business or working for a Mercedes place that know that car and knows how to repair it. So I had my car at a dealership and they couldn't figure out what the problem was and I had to do a lot of research asking around. I finally found this guy, who doesn't take too many cars in because he's retired. But he will do them every once in a while and I was lucky that he did work on mine. He worked for Mercedes for over 15 years and he figured out the problem almost immediately.

    However, ProtectMyCar said that they wouldn’t pay the claim because he didn’t have a business. If these people that are working on the car is certified, what difference is it if they’re a business or an individual as long as they’re certified and they guarantee the work? I can’t understand why they wouldn’t pay because he ain’t got a business name. He’s got a garage that he does repairs in but he’s not really in business. It was kind of like doing favors because he is certified.

    I needed a new warranty and ProtectMyCar gave me the best value. I’m happy with the price that I'm paying, which is less than what the other warranty groups offered me, and making payments is easy. They were very lenient and helpful about it and I appreciated that very much. The disappointing part was when submitting a claim. I had to do a bit of research. I never had service on my car and all I've ever had was oil changes. So I had to make several phone calls to the shop where I've always been for oil changes and probably went through 12 phone calls before I got anything done with my car. It was a difficult process.     ProtectMyCar, compared to others, looked and sounded good, and the price was not out of kilter. But, we have had issues that started off with the first claim. They were trying to tell me it was a salvaged vehicle and I told them it wasn't. They kept trying to use Carfax as a Bible and wasn’t wanting to pay any attention to the car's title which said actual miles and that it wasn't a salvaged vehicle. The Carfax decision was that the mileage is screwed up. They didn't read it properly and it was corrected. Carfax said it was just a human error and Protect finally agreed with everything and fixed the issue. The second claim went a lot better. But they put in a used transfer. I'm still having issues with the transfer. It still has that noise that it had prior, not as bad, but I’ve got to take it back to the dealer and have them check it back out. I'm dissatisfied at the moment.

    The first time I submitted a claim with ProtectMyCar, it was very easy. The second time was a little harder. They gave the auto repair place a hard time about wanting to mail cheaper parts, which I was a little irritated with, but I was happy that the mechanic that I hired did a little pushback for me and insisted that it be done in a timely manner. The process was relatively easy as I didn’t have to do any fighting with them. The mechanic filed the claim, I gave the car to him and I paid my deductible and he got the rest from Precision.     I was getting a BMW at the time and ProtectMyCar had the best warranty for the vehicle. Submitting a claim was pretty simple. I took my car into a BMW dealership but the things that I took it in for wasn't really covered. It was a gasket but they explained. When I read my booklet, the warranty covers mostly the inner workings of a particular thing. They found another thing that was covered so they fixed it. Another thing I like is that it's a $100 deductible because maintenance on a BMW, Mercedes, and all those European cars is very expensive.

    ProtectMyCar could insure my 2000 Mercedes whereas most places would not. It's very easy making the payments for the warranty and the interaction I had with their representative was all good.     When I purchased the vehicle the dealer was supposed to give me a warranty but he never returned my calls. He stopped inquiring about the warranty so I had to look somewhere else, then I found ProtectMyCar online. I called to make my claim and they just took the number down to the shop and they handled it from there. It wasn't troublesome for me because their car shop handled it, and then they directly did. Moreover, making payments wasn't difficult. However, I think at that time I was tricked at my call because I thought there was more to get a warranty on my vehicle. What I didn't like was that the paper said I would only pay 25% of the bill for repairs. It was low considering that I'm paying every month and I've had auto warranties before.     ProtectMyCar's services have been pretty good. My 2002 Ford Taurus broke down and I didn't expect them to do anything but they were prompt in getting somebody out there to tow my car where I wanted. On the other hand, the biggest negatives were the paperwork and red tape in trying to get anything done because they had to have something written up by the mechanic with what was wrong. The mechanic then had to go price the parts and would submit them to ProtectMyCar. It was a lot of paperwork and interrupting the mechanic from working on my car.

    I took my car to a place where I know the guy and that it would be taken care of with honest work. ProtectMyCar admitted over the phone that they could not get me cheaper parts or service. They would paid 25% of the bill. The bill was $500 and I paid $350 but that required more paperwork. I had to get an okay from the mechanic so they didn't get paid until afterwards. ProtectMyCar pays the mechanic instead of me paying the mechanic so there's a lot of additional steps. But I'm happy it saved me some money.

    It's been good and bad with ProtectMyCar. I had a repair on my car that I was told by one person was covered, but later they figured out that it wasn't covered and I ended up having to pay for it out of my pocket. The person who initially told me that it was covered might not have been properly trained or didn't really understand. They also told me that they were going to cover the rental car, and then later they said they were not going to cover it. I tried to talk to a manager. They said they were going to get it taken care of and call me back, but they never called back. I ran out of energy to fight with them about it. They did pay for another repair that I had and paid for the rental car without a problem. As far as aftermarket warranty companies go, they seem to be pretty good.

    One time I had taken my car to some dealer to get me some repairs. I was in an accident and my car was totaled. I spent more money than what ProtectMyCar paid for it. They were not helpful at all. When I had taken the plan, no one ever told me that I have to pay out of my pocket to get a rental and then they’ll just reimburse me.     ProtectMyCar is giving me more for less. With the previous auto warranty provider for my car, I was getting a two-year warranty for about $3,000 but with ProtectMyCar, I get five years for $4,000 limit with a lot more coverage. Submitting a claim so far is okay. The only thing I was disappointed with is that they don’t cover the seals, like oil seals, and that’s a problem. It’s very, very, very expensive on the pocket.

    The biggest problem I had with ProtectMyCar was that I expected the company to do all of the work but I was the one who had to coordinate all the paperwork between the insurance company and the repair shop. There was almost zero discussion between the warranty company and the service stations. It took almost two months from the time I submitted the claim to the time it got done. The effort to try to get it taken care of was extremely difficult.

    I needed ProtectMyCar because it's good to have insurance on your car. I've had a pretty good deal with the claims. The first time went well. The second time, I thought the people that I have fixing my car gave ProtectMyCar a call to see about the catalytic converters. They said they did but evidently they didn’t because I called ProtectMyCar back after the work was done and asked about the catalytic converters because it cost me $2500 to get it fixed and I was really upset that they didn’t cover it. But the next experience I had was the motor put in wherein they paid so much percentage which helped out a lot.

    I’ve had pretty good experiences with ProtectMyCar. In fact, they just fixed my car. I took this insurance so I wouldn’t have expensive repairs as they say in their advertisement, but everything is really not covered. One item I thought was covered were those shocks but I have to pay for them and they’re very expensive. But other than that, my experiences have been good. My mechanic calls in and makes sure I know what’s covered and what’s not because I have the book Solace.

    It was easy to make arrangements for the extended auto warranty with ProtectMyCar. I think they had a type of discount and had the payment plan.     I had another provider and they did not cover something that had happened to my vehicle, and when I spoke to the person from ProtectMyCar, he said that they would have covered it, so I went with them. I recently had a problem when a coolant pipe broke and drained the coolant out of my vehicle and it wouldn’t start. I called ProtectMyCar and told the rep that my vehicle broke down and that I wanted the garage that I deal with to come and pick the car up, and they made arrangements for that for me, which was good. In fact, that particular garage isn’t on their list but they made an exception for it. However, ProtectMyCar wouldn’t cover the problem.

    Things were a little complicated but once we finally got through, I was satisfied and was saving a little bit of money. My ProtectMyCar warranty says it covers all mechanical failures but then they say that it doesn’t cover specific things. If the mechanic says that it is technically a mechanical failure, they still won't cover it. And then I tried to get the old rotation because they said I'd get oil change and rotation, but they told me I couldn’t get it because I have to get my second oil changed. I already spoke to somebody about it and had cancelled altogether.

    The policy helps with mechanical breakdowns, not maintenance such as tire replacement and tune-ups. The repairs you mentioned were normal maintenance and wear and tear replacements not covered under the policy.

    I was highly skeptical about Protectmycar but my experience with them has definitely changed my mind. It's easy to submit a claim. I simply call to let them know, give it to the shop and send them documents. The hardest part was my schedule because I had to get my documents over to the claims department and I was working for 10 days straight at that time.     Solace was able to negotiate the price per month and the down payment. They have also far exceeded the value of other warranties. Submitting a claim when they were Solace was a lot better in terms of precision and everything else. When ProtectMyCar took over, the way they communicated with the customer was different. It was a cry different from the people I was dealing with originally. They were just pulling teeth on everything, going through the policy with a fancy comb, questioning and debating everything.

    I've only used my extended warranty twice on the S55 and was thinking of getting another 240 but it really stopped that. Even Mercedes Benz said they really preferred not to deal with them again because their attitude is very bad. The dealership was able to pick up on it and ProtectMyCar prefers that if I wanted to use them, to use another shop. That wasn't good at all because the dealer takes care of my car and I wouldn't even think about taking it anywhere else. They do a good job and are very good and reasonably priced. So, that put a knock on it because the next time I need something done, I have to take it somewhere else. And, with ProtectMyCar's process of getting back and how they handle it, they want to use off-brand parts on a Mercedes.

    I called a couple of days ago because I was stuck on the side of the road and needed roadside assistance. I called ProtectMyCar at 10:30 and the guy said somebody will be on the way. I let an hour and a half go by and nobody ever came, and it was after 12 o'clock. Thank God I had a friend who came and got me and then I just left my car there. It was aggravating.     ProtectMyCar got me the runaround at first when I was trying to get my claim done fast. Usually, if I'm making an insurance claim with my insurance company, it's very fast.     I bought a 2003 Mercedes and although it’s used, the miles it got was only 74,000. But then I figured it might be a good investment to have a warranty, so I got a program from ProtectMyCar. I called them up and they sold me a five-year, 55,000-mile protection. They believe in preventative maintenance. I don’t want anything to go wrong with my car, and I’m sure they don’t want it either. On my contract, I get free oil changes. I never came across another warranty that gives something like that, so it’s really nice.

    Then it was in December of 2015 where a repair was needed to be done on my car. I called them and they went ahead and had the mechanic call them. They paid the mechanic over the phone via credit card. It was very easy. They’re very fast and there’s no wait time. It's like they really care when one has a warranty company. After this one, I’m gonna get another car and I will definitely use ProtectMyCar again. One wouldn't know when something’s gonna go wrong with his car. He might have a new car warranty, but the car could be expensive to repair.

    I read the reviews online and picked ProtectMyCar. However, I've had the worst experience in my life with them. My car is still in the shop and I haven't had a car since last Monday and this is shop number three. When I brought the car to the first shop, they said they wouldn't pay for my claim so I brought it to the second shop where I bought it. They told me to bring the car to them and they'll re-buy the car back. So I called ProtectMyCar to cancel my service with them but they come to find out that they covered my claim. That's why I went to shop number three but now there's a problem again.

    They told me they were waiting to send an inspector out because there's a lot of work to be done at the shop and they have 24 to 48 hours before an inspector comes out because of whatever is wrong with my car. I know that part of the policy is they send somebody else out so that's what I've been waiting for. But I still have no verification, they're telling me all these things and I don't know what is going on. Nobody is communicating with me and I haven't been in a loaner or rental car. Now I'm in the house stressed because I don't let them talk me into bringing the car to another shop.

    I had some trouble with the claim I filed with ProtectMyCar being actually processed and the part's arriving time. The issue was that they sent the part to the wrong store and then sent the wrong part to the store. Then it took them forever to pay the mechanics of the shop where my car was repaired. My car had been in the shop for well over a week. The experience is kind of drawn out and I feel that ProtectMyCar needs to work on processing the orders correctly so that the right parts are sent out in a timely manner.

In this instance the supplier not only sent the wrong part but sent it to the wrong address! When we discovered their error we took steps immediately to correct the error.     I had 22 people that I signed up with ProtectMyCar, who includes all my family members and some people I know. We all canceled because of the service they have. They have an insurance company they use but the protection the insurance gives seems a lot but basically are just common things. The things that wear and tear that we really need were not covered. The service people answering the phone at ProtectMyCar are great but they can only deal with the people with the insurance company on what to do, what’s covered or not. I'm very dissatisfied.

    When I had my car fixed recently, ProtectMyCar gave the mechanics too much of a hard time and so the mechanics didn't want to deal with it. So I don't think I'm going to keep the warranty very long because the hard labor that the mechanics put in was not worth it. I have a car that came with a warranty and it's so easy to take my Mercedes in and they do whatever they need to do. But this one, I got to call to get approval. ProtectMyCar wants the cheapest part and I was not happy.

    It was a Saturday when my car broke down and I had to get to work Monday. I got rental on my own and ProtectMyCar said that they will talk to me about it. But I got it from the airport and I didn't send the invoice. I just said, "Okay, well you guys pay for the next rental that I have to get." And so, I went and got a rental through Enterprise and they gave me a deal which I had for two unnecessary weeks. It was before my car finally got done and the bill was under $600. ProtectMyCar reimbursed me with a check for $200 and something which was not the invoice that I sent. They didn't respond and tell me why. I was frustrated with them.

    I also kept getting calls from the mechanic talking about how they can't get in touch with ProtectMyCar about my transmission. ProtectMyCar kept calling, leaving me messages and that they're going to call me back but they never do for days. This whole time I was working over the week. I thought this was one of the points of having a warranty, that I didn't have to stress and worry about the repair but I did. The rental came out of my pocket which I could have paid for the transmission with. ProtectMyCar was just ridiculous.

    ProtectMyCar's claims rep actually worked with the dealership. All I did was file a claim which was pretty easy and straightforward. From that point on, it was between the two of them. The dealership had called and told me they don’t cover steering and suspension parts and I was a little disappointed. I had to practically replace my whole front end.

    ProtectMyCar was much cheaper. I submit claims to them on the phone and I'm very satisfied with them so far. My alternator went out so I went to the dealership. I told them it was going to have to be serviced because I wasn’t 100% sure on what was wrong with the car, but I know the battery had died on it. We talked about getting everything set up. I gave them the keys to my car and they were moving it up. Next thing I knew, my car started smoking. It blew something out of the hood because all my fluids or coolant came out.

    The dealership called me a while ago and told me they couldn’t fix it and to send it somewhere else. I asked them why since they're the dealer. I’m unsettled about this. Their guy told me he was going to call me back and tell me what they’re going to do if it’s going to be drivable or not. My car turned up in front of their shop. I have yet to talk with ProtectMyCar about this.

    I was satisfied with the information ProtectMyCar gave me about them when I called. I've used them twice and have had a good experience. I only had one little complication. I was dealing more with the dealer than with ProtectMyCar and it was nothing too serious. There was some miscommunication as far as getting the work done. ProtectMyCar was ready and prepared to take care of their end there but the dealers didn’t do their part. Everything took a little time but was resolved. I was pleased with ProtectMyCar.     I had an auto warranty from a different company before and when ProtectMyCar had a promotion, I switched. Since then, I've had issues with the claim. Some things are not covered and some of their people are a little rude. The customer service is not too good so I’ve been looking to go somewhere else. I’ll just stay where I had better customer service and pay a little bit more than go to somewhere else that was cheap and have poor customer service. How you treat people is what carries your brand for and that’s my biggest concern.

    I joined ProtectMyCar and had a couple of cars active. Once my older car needed work, ProtectMyCar wouldn't cover it so I dropped one. Then, I had a transmission problem with my newer car. The mechanic and the service people sent for a transmission. It never made it after three weeks because it was delivered to the wrong place. Then, they would ship for another one and it never made it. I'm gonna go let them approve to fix it. It took another two weeks. They wanted to give me a rent-a-car, but I got to pay for it. I have my own vehicle so I cannot put my second car up for a rent-a-car and I didn't have that car. Reimbursement is what's going to help me when you don't have anything put up.

    I had to call them twice a week. They just keep saying, "Delivery date, delivery date" but it never came. Everybody that I've talked to didn't want to talk to me anymore because of the way it has taken so long. I just got to wait. It took me two months to get it done, with no rent-a-car and I'm still paying car notes and ProtectMyCar a monthly payment for two months.

    When I called for prices and everything that the auto warranty covered, ProtectMyCar was the best. However, when I filed a claim, I had issues with the rental car. I had to be able to go to work, but they didn't give me a rental because the labor of the job was less than four hours. But Chevy kept my car overnight because they had to order the part. I was confused because I didn't know that part. It was the only issue I had but otherwise, ProtectMyCar is perfect.

    I had ProtectMyCar warranty before but the company went bankrupt and I lost $1,000 on a deal. These guys wanted me to pay upfront and then they stole my money so I was leery about getting into it in the first place. But the price seemed to be okay, so I tried again. It wasn't all upfront. For my recent claim, the guy that did it for me did all the work, which wasn't too bad. It is what it is. It's not the greatest insurance in the world, but it helps.     I went with ProtectMyCar because of the way they set the price and then they said I could make a payment plan instead of paying a big lump sum to get in there. They told me to start off with $100+ and then go with the payment plan, and that would help me out. The auto warranty was $4,000. They wanted me to put in $2,000 to start off, but now they have it right there. I've used Protect My Car's maintenance perks.

    When I first got the warranty, we had some problems. I got to get the BMW when I called in. I like to get BMW parts for my car, and they tried not to do that, but I got it done. They're like, "No, you get it cheaper." They wanted me to get other parts - some fast, off-the-wall Ultimate, and I said, "No. I just wanna get the BMW Ultimate. I'm paying all this money for the warranty." I paid $7,000, so I should get the good parts. I was dissatisfied because my mechanic and their reps kept going back and forth with it like that.

I was getting the transmission looked at, and it just so happened that their rep called me and told me about what they offer. And I thought, “Well, why not?” I know this vehicle’s already needing some attention. It was a no-brainer to go ahead and see how it worked, and I’m happy so far.

    However, just several months back I had some front end work done on the vehicle. And between ProtectMyCar and my service shop, we had a lot of missing dots and it was hard to connect them. I don’t know why, but communication wasn’t what I would’ve wanted to see but we finally got it done. My vehicle got fixed and I’ve saved some money.     I'm very satisfied with ProtectMyCar. Their rates are better than what I had before and the only limited cars are based on the year of the car and the brand.     The warranty provider of my mom is ProtectMyCar that's why I went with them​. The overall experience was okay. However, the claims process was a very long ​one​. Once you put in a claim, you have to wait for them to find the parts that are cheaper, and it takes about two or three days. What if people didn’t have an extra car to ride back and forth to work?​ It needs to be a bit quicker than what it is. Other than that, making payments for the warranty is easy and it's all good.

    My oil needed changing, and my tires need rotating. You guys took care of that, and I thank you for it. My Air Conditioner was broken. They called me. I told them to call you guys. You guys house in $69.99 on a bill that was in excess of $300. I would have thought you guys would have paid a little more. I also had to get a rental car because the car then overnight there Wales. They did not have any compact cars at Florence Regional Airport. So, I had to get a midsize and spend a little bit more ($57 & some change). The next day ice packs the rental agreement with a note written by Budget Rental that there were no compact cars. I tell you these things, because if it were my company I would want "Attention to Detail" & "Follow-Through" to be my first two points of business when dealing with the customer. PS. A/C still broken & Rental Reimbursement not there.

    When my extended warranty with Nissan expired, I decided to look for a new one. A young lady from ProtectMyCar called me a few times, but I wasn't gonna take it. However, I finally did let her persuade me to take the plan. The coverage and monthly cost of the plan were fine, but I'm really disappointed with them. Some lights came on in the car and it was sluggish, so I went to the dealer to have it checked. They did a diagnostic and saw what was wrong. So Nissan repaired some things that were on there, but they talked to ProtectMyCar who told them that there were a couple of things that weren't covered. So then I called ProtectMyCar and they told me that it wasn't covered either. I may not have a good understanding of their language in the agreement, but what is my extended warranty for then? So I'm going to move on if I find a better extended warranty, but I'm going to keep this for now.

    I didn't want the AAA and I wanted to try something different. So when ProtectMyCar called me, I signed up because that's what I was interested in. However, submitting a claim with them was terrible. They paid the car garage for my first claim but for the second one, they wanted me to send them the money before they pay the company. If I had it like that, I wouldn't need ProtectMyCar. But I sent the claim in and they paid it. I called them back and told them that I had to leave it a little bit longer and that I'll get a rental car again. I did and sent this claim in five times and still, up to this day, I have not been paid for it.

    I did everything they asked me to do. I was told that I got to drop it but I don't feel like that because I've been there for a minute and they took money every month relentlessly out of my account. I had them on three different cars and they said it would benefit me but it has not. I recommended it to a friend and they cancelled their service the same month. They also weren't happy with it.

    My transmission valve went and I was looking for help where I’d be able to not pay as much. ProtectMyCar was recommended to me by someone. However, the people that fixed my transmission charged me more and didn’t do a good job. From $1100 they added another $500, which I was very upset about. Now I’m having problems with my car cooling and it might have something to do with the fuel line. They might have not put something back in place properly. I’m afraid to take my car back to them. Why take something back to someone who doesn’t actually solve the problem?

    ProtectMyCar gave me the best deal. I've had the policy for about three or four months when my car started to make a noise. I went to the dealer to find out what the noise was, and they told me my transmission had failed. I only had the car for about eight months at this point. I called ProtectMyCar to let them know what the dealer said. ProtectMyCar told me to send them my car purchase receipt and the service I had then. I sent them everything, then the claim went through, and I had my car in two or three weeks. They approved my claim pretty quickly. The rest of the time was more of the wait to get the part to the dealer plus the time to fix the car. They didn't order the transmission from the dealer since their price was too high. Once they shipped the transmission, the dealer fixed the car and I had no problem since. ProtectMyCar hasn't given me a hard time for anything I needed and they let me know from the start what they do and do not cover.

    ProtectMyCar didn’t add one of my claims one time before and it put a nasty taste in my mouth, but there's nothing I can do about it. It took them about a whole day to process something one time. I also don’t know what to do about the warranty if they get some work done at a shop, but I guess I can call them and find out. For the protection they’re giving me, they charge too much but they’re not offering me much. They tell you up to 50% to 60% but all you really get is 25% every time, no matter what it is.

    I’ve seen Protect My Car on CNN. I called them and talked to a gentleman there. He told me some of the things that I needed to know and I also told him some things that he needed to know. I’ve been a business agent for 29 years with the Local 70 Teamsters and I’ve always come to the conclusion that when a person sells themselves first then it opens up that inner ear to hear and that’s when I wanted to hear what he had to say. He made it sound like if the car broke down, it was covered on the warranty - pay him $100 deductible and that’s all I had to do, my troubles were over. He told me it was all good stuff and he signed me up.

    Making payments for the coverage was also really simple. I have a direct deposit with Protect My Car and they grab my money each and every month on the 3rd. However, when I had a claim for the air conditioner compressor, I thought it was going to be a little bit easier when I talked to Protect My Car but they went bad on me. They said that I can pick a mechanic of my choice. I didn’t want to go to the dealer. To save some cost, I went to a mechanic friend of mine who’s around the corner and also an established AAA member. I called Protect My Car, explained to them my situation, and they said okay, they would fix me up.

    I tried to use the car rental benefits but another gentleman who I spoke to took the steps to beat me out of the rental car. He also took the steps to tell me that they’ll replace the compressor. I have a deck compressor under the hood. They want to put on a good compressor but they don’t pay for their fluids. I understood some of that - there was a stipulation in the contract that they don’t cover fluids. But he’s in Florida and I’m here in California. In California, we cannot just let the Freon go out into the air. We’ve got to capture it, evacuate the system, etc. I guess in Florida, they can let it out in the air. Nobody will care.

    When the mechanic told me that it’s going to take a couple of hours to evacuate the system and a couple hours to put in the compressor, I asked the Protect My Car rep for a rental car because I was going to be without a car. He told me, “Well, it shouldn’t take no more than two hours.” And I said, “Two hours for what? To change the compressor?” He goes, “Yeah. Just let the Freon go and put on the compressor and then you got to pay for the fluids.” So I said, “I understand that. But the mechanic here said it could take four to five hours to do because once you evacuate the system, that takes two hours; take off the compressor, that’s two hours; and then re-up the system with new Freon, that could take another hour and a half, two hours.” He won’t give me the rental car. The mechanic felt so bad for me that he went ahead and ate the cost of the Freon, the cost of evacuating the system for me, and the cost of the re-upping of the system. And still on top of that, I had to pay $100 deductible.

    I filled my payment of a $101.99 which came out of my Social Security check because I’m retired with a pension and Social Security. I also make sure that they get their payment each and every month. And when that broke down on me like that, I said, “Okay. This is something I called. This is something you guys can do for me.” They did it but if it meant to take care of me, it didn’t too well. If it wasn’t for the mechanic who ate those things that I mentioned, I would have had a compressor on this Cadillac that would’ve been just as bad as the one they took off because it would have no fluid in it. And the mechanic couldn’t understand how come Protect My Car got to go through the lace of giving me a brand new compressor with no fluid in it and why should I have to pay for it. They had to check it and I had to pay $75 to the mechanic to diagnose it for me. That cost me 75 bucks to start to pay him.

    I got AAA and full coverage on this Cadillac - an ’04 Escalade. I got more insurance on this car than most people have. I was willing to go and rent a car myself through AAA but the guy didn’t even want to do that when he should have. He didn’t do Protect My Car any good at all. He could say what he couldn’t do but he really couldn’t back it up with a legit reason. It was grievous. That’s why I’m out with it. Nevertheless, I still like Protect My Car. I did get my car fixed. If I had to pay for the compressor myself, it was about $300 or $400. I would recommend Protect My Car to someone else. I like the warranty. It’s a good one and it covers a lot of things, and I commend them for that.

    ProtectMyCar was the first one I saw online when I was looking for a warranty provider. However, I meant to cancel my warranty from them because I had to use my car service for a couple of times and they haven’t covered anything for it.     I have a BMW and it is a unique car and ProtectMyCar wouldn't pay the labor rate from the dealership, so I wound up having to take it to a regular mechanic that has the same labor rate that they cover. But, they messed up my car and broke a couple of seals because there's a unique way they had to bring down engines. So to this day, I'm dealing with those issues. I took it in to fix my fan and they broke some rotors and some other stuff when they were fixing it. I had to pay $900 to replace my whole exhaust pipe assembly because the fan was kicking metal into the exhaust pipe and broke the valves in it. They didn't do a good job and I ended up having to go back to the dealership to fix whatever was done by them.

    I believe whenever I took my car to a reputable mechanic, I wound up having to pay some of the difference out-of-pocket because the labor rate that ProtectMyCar pay is not competitive with those places. But their customer service is really good and I was always able to get an answer from them. But as far as I'm concerned, the price and the labor that ProtectMyCar are willing to pay are not what a car like mine needs. The coverage was very limited so I paid for a lot more than what I got.

    I shopped around a little bit to see who had the right coverage for the right price, and I got ProtectMyCar. When the dealer submitted a claim for me, they had a few complaints that they passed on to me. The main issue was with the communications and slow response time. The Volkswagen dealer wanted to use a new Volkswagen factory part for obvious reasons, but when they tried to get approval for the repair, the warranty company said, “No, we want to supply the part ourselves from a third party for less money.” The dealer then said, “Okay, do that. Send us the part that we need.” It took a substantial amount of time, so it delayed the repair while the warranty company shipped the part. They shipped a part that worked, and it was the correct part, but it delayed the overall repair.

    ProtectMyCar covers cars with 4 miles at a reasonable price. Their guys are very friendly and when I submitted a claim, it's very helpful that a gentleman came and got involved in the negotiation process. The only part we don’t like is the rental car piece. I still have two hours stay in rental car claims that haven’t been resolved yet, and I don’t really know how to get that part done. Also, there are a few nuances inside of what they do and do not cover and how that’s done because you almost can't negotiate a lower price before they call. Once they know you have an insurance agent, they don’t allow that negotiating to bring the price down, and that part is problematic. If you’d be allowed to negotiate the price down, you can save a new 10% at least. Still, I'm very grateful I got ProtectMyCar. It's not perfect yet, but I will still recommend it to a friend.

    ProtectMyCar does all the major stuff but it doesn't do smaller things that I might need on my car. They might have a policy that does that but the one I have only does major repairs like engines. I actually tried to put a claim in for a sunroof but they said they don't fix sunroofs. But it's efficient. I have used it for one window regulator and they paid it. The claims rep was cool and ProtectMyCar made my payments affordable.

    ProtectMyCar was only $25 a month and it's pretty easy to get with them. Also, I always thought that having extra insurance on my car would be great. However, when I submitted a claim, it took a while to get the actual people out there to look at my car. It delayed my ability to get back my car in a really decent time. I waited almost a week and a half extra to get my car's stuff taken care of so that was a little unfortunate. But I'm not really too picky. I know I live on a military base. So, I know it's a little bit more difficult for them. But, just some way of fixing that to be quicker that'd be preferable.

    What happened was I destroyed my AC unit. It blew the hell up in my car and to fix it, it was gonna cost almost $2,000. I was thinking that I had insurance on the car that ProtectMyCar would foot at least a good portion of it but they only paid for the manpower hours. I guess it's only to fix minor things, not like huge things. So, I don't know if they have any different plans or what is the case. But from what I was understanding or when I was first told about this is that they would cover a good portion of the vehicle. I had to get my transmission fixed afterwards because when they fixed the AC unit, they screwed up my transmission. But they wouldn't cover that at all.

    So, it's been one rocky slope. I've still got them and I'm not too worried about it. Extra insurance on a car will come in handy one day. But they could be more helpful and do their best. They should be more open at what they can or can't do like a little clarity of what they actually can cover beforehand and whatnot like major things, minor things. When they say, "Hey, we'll cover this to up to this portion." So, if I get an accident, "Okay, well, I can have them cover up to so much portions and I gotta foot the rest or have my insurance take care of it." But it wasn't a car accident so the insurance company wasn't gonna do anything about it.

    But other than that, so far, they have been doing great. They did foot some of the bill which is great. I was just assuming I would get more out of that. I should've been more intuitive and said, "Hey, how much are you guys gonna be covering? What do you guys cover." And I just didn't know what I had on my car exactly. So, that's my fault. In addition, they offer 24/7 road assistance, rental car benefits and maintenance perks are always good to have on hand.

    ProtectMyCar had a wonderful salesperson. She really did a heck of a job and I really appreciated that. Recently, I had to take the car to the shop. ProtectMyCar covered a lot of stuff but there was some stuff that they didn't cover. I would never have put the car in the shop but I did know that they weren't going to cover the stuff that I needed. There was the back, the rear, and the trunk like the liftgate which for SUVs was a major thing. Then it went out and I knew they were gonna fix that, but they didn't. They didn't pay for that as the most stuff, so those had to come out of pocket and I didn't have the money. I have mixed feelings right now about this. The dealership is working with me right now as far as paying this. I'm caught up in between all these bills with only one income. I'm trying to figure them all out.

    I was able to fit in the monthly payments for the warranty as part of the bill that I know I have to pay. I had to make some adjustments, but I was able to do that. It's still working now for as long as I've been with the program. ProtectMyCar is all right. I have an older car and I know I need that warranty. They have an affordable price for me and I'm keeping it because I can handle that payment every month. It's been a very nice and enjoyable experience.

    I had a repair done right when I got ProtectMyCar. I had a transmission replaced. If I did it out-of-pocket, the cost was gonna be a little over $1,400, roughly. I received about $500. But then right at the end, and this is the part that I don't understand - how could they think that the rebuilt or used transmission that was being shipped was going to be shipped with the fluid in it? They then refused to pay the $40 for the fluid, saying that fluids aren't covered under it. And that's understandable. It was clear to me that I would be responsible for that point because the $900 and x amount of dollars that I've spent, I assumed that included the transmission fluid. Because when you put a transmission in, you gotta put fluid in, run the vehicle, put into gear, make sure it's working, then drain it and change it to put the fluid in that you're gonna be using.

    Same thing when you change an engine. All the fluids go in - water, oil, so on and so forth. The only thing that they change after the initial startup is you change the oil. The reason being it's that way, if there's any metal that gets in all that, they could check the new fluid to see if there are metal shavings in it. Now, what should've happened when I got this transmission taken care of was that when they quoted me the price, they should've said that doesn't include the fluid. At that point, I would've said, "Okay. How much do I have to spend out-of-pocket?"

    Last week, I had $100 emergency service done on my vehicle. I lost my lower radiator hose, it got a hole in it. I took it over and it was an emergency so it wasn't something that we can sit and wait a long time to get a good price. That was the other problem because the shop guy took my truck to get the transmission done. It's not bumper-to-bumper but it's enough that where I've had some places call wanting to give me this extended warranty type deal to where all I paid was $100 out-of-pocket and the rest was covered by them. But the transmission wasn't exactly under this.

    All they were gonna pay, because I haven't sent the bill to them, was $25 which means that I would've ended up spending about $75 total for getting that hose replaced. It was an emergency type repair but point being is I still have the service. They get their $40 a month. But if I needed to replace the engine, I don't see where I'm really saving any money.

    The other thing that got me because I haven't used it yet was the oil change deal. It also gets questionable because when I originally signed up for it, the guy told me, "Oh, you did great" this and that and all I did was pay $25 to start, end of story. On the initial call, he said, "Yeah. You can take it to Wal-Mart, and they call us up or whatever they do and it's paid for." I was gonna get it done and I'm told I can't go to Wal-Mart. I can go to Wal-Mart and then send them the bill and they'll give me the money back. Now, how's that a free oil change technically?

    I went to a shop that was in our town and told them about the free oil change. They say, "Tell them, explain how it works." He won't do it. So, if I go to Blue Ridge or to the Dodge guy that did transmission, are they gonna do it? Because he deals with them but he doesn't like to deal with them. We're talking about the Dodge shop. He does other vehicles but he's a Chrysler type fanatic and he likes Chrysler product and normally that's what he tries to work on all the time but he does other brands. But again, if I go there and they say they won't do it, then the free oil change, how good is that at that point? I'm putting money out of my pocket and getting the money back from them.

    The reason why we have this insurance on this particular vehicle is because it's a pick-up truck and some of the costs are a little bit more than our Jeep. Like for example, the AC regulator or the fan regulator for the heat on my vehicle costs somewhere about $60 to $70. I just replaced the one on my truck, and then all of a sudden the one on the Jeep went out, which I can get for less than $20. This is not something I think they would've paid for so I just went out and bought it myself.

    It's time consuming and I was without my truck from January until roughly the middle of March. If I had gone and paid it directly, I would've probably been without my truck for about a week or two. But three months compared to a week or two, something's gotta change here. If they're going to quote me a price on a service, and if there's something that would get replaced, then they should be aware of what the services are on getting that product like rear-end differential. Now, with the rear-end differential, if I'm correct, they do not have to change the fluid back. Both my vehicles are four-wheel drive. When a replacement is done to the transfer case and things that they have to generate the power to, they should go, "Okay, we know the fluids have to come with it. It's part of the repair to the vehicle." That really upset me.

    Before I even signed up, I was reading all the plus and minuses, what people said, and it was a lot of positive to negative. But some of the negative stuff like, "Why do they take forever to do something?" One person had a vehicle that needed something that he knew would only take a couple of days and it took almost a month for them to get paid because the shops work on the vehicle until they're told to.

    After the service was done, they were supposed to call me with a fax number where I could get that receipt to them. I've never heard back from them. I'm talking about the $100 bill because it was an emergency repair. The shop that I went through wouldn't take them either. It's like they say, "All these shops in the world, but Wal-Mart. You can go wherever you want." Well, if I can go wherever I want, then the shop that I had to get the hose replaced with was in a big city. If still lived up in Woodridge, Virginia or Charlotte or I went to Salem, I could've found somebody that would've taken them and would've said, "Look, we've got an emergency repair. What's the cost gonna be?" They would've told them and maybe I would've paid a lot less than having to fill out.

    They should be aware and understood that a repair on a vehicle will have fluid replacement. It's not like I'm asking them to change a light or something electrical. That's not gonna have fluid involved. But something that requires a fluid on the repair, they should at least consider that in there and then quote how much the customer has to pay. Because when they told me it was $900 for a $1,400 job, at that point, we didn't have a single problem with that. They saved me less than what I thought. But maybe they should've said, $700 or $600 is what I have to pay out-of-pocket. At least, make me feel that I'm saving some money.

    If ProtectMyCar is there to help me, then they should be there for any type of case whatsoever. They say they pay for the oil changes. Well, why don't they cover a transmission fluid change? Because it costs $110. But at the time, before I got them, it was $110 just to do a fluid change on my transmission. At that point, I would have found out there was a problem and been able to get to it for a cheaper price - maybe had the transmission rebuilt at a less price because it was a working transmission at that time. Why don't I cancel it? Well, because who knows? If I cancel it and the next day, my engine could blow. Maybe I need another major repair and they can turn around and would able to do it quicker. I'm not exactly satisfied with ProtectMyCar but I'm not exactly pissed off at them.

The dealership filed it for me, and ProtectMyCar wanted to put me through a whole bunch of loops to get them to pay the claim, but I finally got them to pay for it. Making payments for their fees was easy but it could be a bit lower. I called them one time to use roadside assistance but they never came. Its not the best experience.

    I had a radiator that needed to be repaired for one of my cars. I filed a claim with ProtectMyCar and some guy came out. They looked at it, but they still didn’t fix the problem. It was a whole lot of waiting. In the meantime, my car was running hot and I needed the radiator done. All I needed was the approval. It was such a hassle calling this one and calling that one every day to follow up. I’ve messaged several people and left a note. I wasn’t really pleased with it and I got fed up. I finally cancelled that claim. I'm paying for coverage and they’re not covering the parts that are supposed to be covered. It ended up with my car being damaged and with me spending more money on that particular vehicle than I’m spending on repairs.

    Then I went and took my Chrysler in for an oil change. The guy said he gave me a free oil change. But I was told to verify this and they denied my oil change. I told them I do have the oil change in my plan but they told me I don't have it. I had to keep calling back. Another girl verified it and she finally put it on a note. It’s been a whole lot of stress going over things. Finally, they apologized and said I have the oil change.

    I’m on a budget, but I try to save a little for my plan, for the parts that I know I have to pay for. They take it out of my credit card. So far, I'm on the verge of calling and canceling the whole policy because they gave me a hard time. It shouldn’t be a hassle like that. I could’ve paid out of pocket and it’s the same thing. I won't be billed every month for something that I’m not using. Over the months, there have been so many notes that I’ve called ProtectMyCar about. They lie about a lot of stuff they tell the customers. They tell the customers one thing to get the sale. If I had known, I wouldn’t have picked up the warranty. I’m dissatisfied and I’m not gonna recommend them.

    ProtectMyCar doesn't communicate and I'm definitely not impressed. For one, somebody should have said in the beginning the reading of the odometer the warranty only covers so far. If I'm paying somebody to do a job, I expect for them to communicate with me but they don't inform people straight up. There's always something hidden. They make it sound so good but then when I try to back out the deal, here comes the fees that I don't even know about which should've been said before I signed up with them. There was just too much stuff that was going on that I just didn't like.

    I'm also an entrepreneur myself, and the minute that I tell somebody that I'm going to do something and I'm supposed to be working on anything that we had an agreement to, I'm going to inform that person about the status. They don't have to call up a third-party to find out. I'm unsatisfied with my experience with ProtectMyCar. But just because I had a bad experience doesn't mean that somebody else will experience the same.

    ProtectMyCar bugged me a bit more than other companies so I chose them. It’s for post-warranty stuff which everybody says, “Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. You’ll waste your money.” I needed comfort and safety for my wife and this company gives me those if anything goes wrong with the car. I did not encounter any problems with the car yet or something that I needed to repair and the company was like, “Oh, you didn’t read at the bottom of page 69 where it says we’re not going to fix that.” So until this moment, I’m happy with the company and I feel that they give us the comfort and the safety net.

    The guys seemed like a treat. I went down to the dealer even for the oil thing and the dealer quotes them and they submit everything right in there. They talk for a while and that’s it. However, we encountered a little bit of glitch when we were establishing our connection which made me go back and forth with them. I couldn’t contact them very well. After a while when we got to some good phone numbers, then I was able to.

    ProtectMyCar called me and explained that I'd be able to save money if any of my cars break down. And so because of the savings that I'll make through this company, I decided to give them a try. Their customer service has been very polite. When I call and tell them that there's a problem with my car, they take quick action. I haven't been able to try the 24 road assistance but if I need a tow, they give me a tow. Also, they negotiate with the body shop for the car repairs prices. It sounded like I was gonna be able to save money but I'm not really convinced if I'm saving a lot of money because one of the major repairs that I already did with my car totaled $2,000 and I end up paying $1,500.

    They took the car back to the shop because something is wrong with it. They said the total cost of repair is 700 and I'm gonna pay $470. I don't know if the car repairs are really expensive nowadays. I'm dissatisfied so far. We have two daughters so we need two cars to make things easier. And because I need it, I need to spend money on it. So far, nobody has explained to me why exactly I'm not saving. The savings they promised to me over the phone, I don't see that happening. My brother who's a general mechanic was really disappointed. I told him that this is my first experience with this company and if I don't like it, I'd have to cancel it. I did like it thinking I'd be saving a lot but I haven't.

    One more thing that I don't like is that they're very far all the way to the east. Sometimes they said they're open 24 hours but they're only open during regular business hours. I don't like the idea of me having to do business on regular hours here in California and when I call them they're closed. I could get information from other companies that would do exactly the same but are located here in California.

    I looked into getting an extended auto warranty provider, checked out the website of ProtectMyCar after I spoke with some of the guys there and decided to go ahead and push for it. Submitting a claim seems pretty smooth. After I went to the Nissan dealership, they got a hold of Protect and Protect had an inspector come out, check out the vehicle to see what the problem was. The only issue I may have had with Protect was the fact that they didn't want to use their parts but I was charged for the transmission fluid. But other than that I was satisfied with the services. In terms of payments, there hasn't been a problem. It's in auto pay and I do not pay attention every couple days on that.

We had to get my husband's car then they told me to pay for it and that they would reimburse me the money, which they did. Then I had to get my gasket replaced. They told me, "Oh, it's 11 something.     I think everyone wants another insurance so that if there's something to happen with their car and they don't have money, they already have the insurance to pay for it all. With this, I decided to get a visitor insurance from ProtectMyCar. Submitting a claim is hard because there may have been bad communication between the dealership and the insurance. But we worked it out eventually. They have friendly claims representative and it's easy to make payments.

    A year ago, we took the car to the dealership because I have a light on in my car that needed to be checked. The dealership said it was all good and they shouldn't do anything. However we had a problem with the same light two months ago. The bad thing is that ProtectMy Car didn't want to accept the complaint or they didn't want to fix the car.     When I first signed up with ProtectMyCar, the whole free towing and the free car rental was unclear. When they are promoting, they should let people know 'You have free towing up to such mileage' or 'You only have free car rental or loaner car up to seven days', instead of, 'You get free car rental', or 'You get free towing'. That's misleading a little bit. If that was clear at the beginning, I would've kept shopping around.

    When it came down to my situation, I needed to get my car towed but I didn't have the money to do it. I thought I could simply call my ProtectMyCar and they'll get the car towed but they said it would cost $50 so it was confusing. Isn't that what my extended warranty was supposed to do? Well, I ended up calling my actual car insurance and not paying anything. Then the car rental experience was rocky too. I wasn't able to get any type of rental car until the full, entire claim was done. It took ProtectMyCar maybe almost a week to get the whole claim completed and I had to come out $700 of pocket with Enterprise, which I didn't have. I had to keep borrowing from my mom and dad. They won't cover me until they finish the claim.

    I almost did not make the approval because of a certain type of tire out from the hatch of the car. At first, they thought that I had custom tires and rims for the car, which are all factory. Then I got two calls. With the first phone call, I was told that I was approved and they'd send the transmission. And then I called the next day for something else and another guy said it was not approved because I did not have the right tire size and that I modified the tires on the car. What's the tires have anything to do with the transmission? Then he typed up the tire model and everything that goes with that car and he saw that it matched so it was approved. You have to meet all the criteria to get approved.

    When it was finally approved, they said, "We can go ahead and start working on your car". They said they could reimburse me a partial amount of what I had come out of pocket for. So it was either I go ahead and pay for the rental car that I used before they approved me, or vice versa. Either way I'd have to pay for one of the rentals that I did. So it was either I pay for the one that I did before ProtectMyCar approved the whole claim or I have them take care of that one and then I would pay for the rental after they had approved the claim. So either way, they won't cover everything. I kept calling, asking for help and instead of paying my $100 deductible, he knocked it off but can't waive the whole entire rental which I couldn't afford.

    Those two parts sucked but I was still gracious that they still took care of the transmission. I was willing to suck it all up for the sake of ProtectMyCar paying for the transmission. I'd rather pay $700 than paying like $4,000 or $5,000 and that's the reason I'm still with ProtectMyCar. They definitely did a huge job for me and I appreciate it. Having ProtectMyCar is definitely convenient for car emergencies as long as you meet all their approval needs. If you need a new engine or a new transmission fit in, I would definitely take those in.

    ProtectMyCar offered a lot better but is more affordable, unlike other companies who were charging a hundred something a month. However, I would like to have my money taken out of my account on the same day like my other payments, so I don't have to keep going back to my account to put money on there. I was also able to call them and use their roadside assistance when I was locked in my car one time or twice. There's one thing I didn't like. I thought they cover lights and electrical stuff that's going out with the car. I was reading the paper and it said that any issue with the radio, they were able to fix it. But when I was getting my car done, they told me they didn't cover that. Besides that, having their warranty is handy. People say the older the car gets, the more trouble it gets, and it's a better opportunity to get ProtectMyCar's service.

    I have my car in the shop for four weeks and it should've been there for less than one. Also, an entire week went by that the mechanic was trying to get a hold of ProtectMyCar and couldn't get a hold of anyone. That was the hold up and it was unbelievable, but they needed to approve the repair or the whole process. For the process, the mechanic shop finds out what's wrong and what the car needs, and they turn that over to ProtectMyCar who would then approve it. Maybe they try to find if the particular part needed is cheaper or they have their own little network. My car sat there untouched for an entire week waiting for some answer back from those clowns. I'm not too happy about it.

    The mechanic also asked me to try to reach out to them because he wasn't getting anywhere with them. They're used to dealing with these kinds of companies all the time and they were in shock at how bad it was with this one company. ProtectMyCar needs to make their service easier to use. It has been a very difficult and time-consuming experience.

    ProtectMyCar called me and I didn’t know about having extended warranty and insurance but when they were talking to me, they’re getting me to get it because it sounded good in the beginning. Then afterwards, they didn't really help me with much even though they said it's a mechanical insurance. They seemed like a great opportunity but misled me about what would be covered and there was a lot of things they didn’t do. I submitted two claims and more for towing since I got a car towed about three times. Their road assistance is an easy process, though. Still, they should be clearer exactly on what it is that they cover.

    It was my first time using ProtectMyCar and the process of submitting a claim was difficult at first but once I understood how everything went down, it's relatively easy. I let the company know what I wanted to be done in my truck and if they cover it, I pay the company. The whole time I thought I was paying the actual mechanic but I got to pay the company. All I got to do is sit down and think about it. Though it got foggy when the rep asked me what I needed to be done. He assumed that I have already done this before so he did not explain fully what goes on. But I figured it out. Also, it is easy making payments for purchasing the warranty and it's affordable. They said they've done an $800 job and I only had to pay $430. All in all, it was an educational and good experience. I got educated on how hard the mechanics try and rip me off. And it's good because ProtectMyCar saves us a lot of money and heartache. I have already recommended them.

    Having ProtectMyCar maybe not cost effective. I have thought about canceling it. One time I thought I had a blown head gasket, and the technicians swept it up and down and saw that it indeed was. Then upon talking to a rep, that's when I learned what wasn't covered and how much was going to be coming out of my pocket, which I wasn't happy about. They even talked to me like it was my fault that I didn't know. I told them I already knew the radiator was gone, but only part of the radiator was covered. They didn't even cover the sensor, so I fixed that on my own. For what I paid them out of my pocket to fix the radiator, I could've done it as I'm a mechanic myself, or find another mechanic to do it. Then the radiator started leaking again so I gotta take it back up and get it repaired. That should be a warranty deal.

    The reason that I have ProtectMyCar is in case something happens, they should cover me with the actual plan. I've filed a claim or two with them and they were being very picky and difficult. They ask a lot of things and I get the vibe that they try to find ways to not do their work for me which I have spoken to them about a couple of times.

    For example, I had an issue with my oil tank, where you need a screw to take the oil out. A human being cannot damage that and it's not a mechanical part. I told them I wanted to take care of it so I don't have a problem with it later on, but they tell me they won't cover it. The repairs are taking too long so they didn't cover the car. Making payments every month is easy and I have the $3,000 plan, but they can do better with that money. I tried using their rent-a-car and for a week, they only gave me a small vehicle which is the cheapest one. I have a truck and they didn't want to cover me for a rental truck, so now I can't do my job. It's more money out of pocket. I take whatever they give and I have to upgrade it, but I have to pay it myself.

    ProtectMyCar was the first one I called and I assumed it would be as good as anybody else. However, it was a nightmare when I submitted a claim. I hope I'll never have another claim with them. To submit the claim itself was a little difficult. The claim was initially declined because I was told that I had a snow plow. But in the initial phone interview, I specifically asked if a snow plow would be covered if I had one. They pulled up the recordings and it showed that I did ask that question and I was told that it would be covered, so they had to honor their claim. Then when I took the claim to the dealer, they wiggled out of trying to pay for the diagnostics. So I ended up paying the $650 diagnostic.

    The dealer and ProtectMyCar couldn't get along on the price. It was a complete bogus lie as far as paying the $100 deductible because it was a lot higher, so they sent the vehicle somewhere else. I was told through ProtectMyCar that I was going to get a new engine or a remanufactured engine. I was also specifically told that I would be called and it would be my choice if I wanted to pay the difference for a remanufactured engine or if I was going to get a used one. The dealer got a used engine with 80,000 miles on it. I didn't want it. I was told I was stuck with it or I could pay the return fee to the dealer.

    I called ProtectMyCar and they told me that I could pay the difference for the dealer's engine because they couldn't send an engine in now. But it was too late anyway because I had to pay the return fee on the engine. I paid the $950 return fee because I didn't want the used engine and I sent the vehicle to another place. The last place seemed to work out. I got a remanufactured engine and I paid the difference for it. The whole process took about five weeks to get done. It was awful. I would never recommend anybody to go to ProtectMyCar ever again.

    I set up the ProtectMyCar warranty for my daughter. I got an email, gave them a call and what they said sounded good. She's in college so I figured she needs something like that. The first claim we've had slipped and didn't go well. The part got mailed to the wrong dealership and it turned out to be a fiasco. So I wasn't happy with the first round. But I gave them a try again and they were fine the second time. Paying them was easy as they just take it out of my bank. She has also used some of the maintenance perks like the oil changes. They try to help but at the same time you have to be on them to help. And the time change is so different so that's an issue.

    After my factory warranty ran out someone called me about ProtectMyCar. I checked on them then went on with them because of their competitive pricing. The policy is definitely affordable. I draft my payments every month and it's easy. There was a little frustration in the claim I had with one shop where I had to find records from a couple of year ago. It may have been a problem if they wanted to go back a little bit further than they did. Luckily I have them, but it was cumbersome to get them all taken cared of and get the additional approval. Then it had to go back to the shop after I went through those documents together. ProtectMyCar took care of it and it was fixed eventually. The 24/7 roadside assistance wasn't as beneficial as I expected it to be so I ended up using another service instead when I needed to use it one time. Other than that it's been great.

    ProtectMyCar called me and they were looking to interest people in getting warranty protection. They offered a discount and made a lot of promises when I was not too interested in what was going on. The policy is set up as an automatic debit on my account, so making payments is simple, but submitting a claim with them is a hassle. When my mechanic called and said that it was a drive shaft that needed to be replaced, they wanted him to take a part from a junkyard instead of replacing it with a new one. Our mechanic's admin assistant wound up having to threaten to take them to small claims court or to consumer agencies and report them if they didn't quit harassing her about it and to just authorize it.

    They did send somebody out to verify, but she was quite upset about the whole experience and didn't want to hear from them again. She said she dealt with many warranty companies and this one was by far the worst because most of the other companies may send somebody out to inspect the vehicle and verify the repair that's needed, but they just simply give the check. If they're going to provide this kind of service, they need to change their policies and stop being so obstructive in paying out what they promised. So in the end, we would never use them again.

    My vehicle is an old Chevy and Protect My Car gave me a good deal on it. When I took the car to the Chevy dealer, I told them that I have an extended warranty. I was told they'll go on and do the work and then I bill the insurance. When I called the insurance guy, he told me that the dealer was supposed to call them first.     ProtectMyCar's price was reasonable and I got a good price for two cars. I did my first claim on the phone because I was unfamiliar with how I could have done it online but they walked me through the process and I had everything I needed. However, it took a while for them to help me understand the process. ProtectMyCar wanted me to give them the money to pay the auto mechanic when in fact, the auto mechanic still needed to purchase a part. They wanted the money upfront before the shop would even start doing anything. I thought that was a little backwards and it made me a little skeptical at first. I have never had that experience of paying for my car before it was fixed. I never want to do anything like that.

    The second experience, when something happened to my car, they let me do it just the opposite, the same way that I was proposing to do it the first time. Their process was confusing. It wouldn’t have taken so long if they had let me wait for the mechanic to buy the part first during the first experience. My son’s car was caught up for almost three months going back and forth.

    ProtectMyCar's pricing was better. However, submitting a claim was a bit more difficult than I would have liked. They did not provide updates on the status of the claim. I typically had to call them to get an update to find out where we are with it, and call the particular shop to make things happen. I didn’t like that as ProtectMyCar didn’t call to get a payment, so why do I need to call to get the claim moving along. That was annoying to say the least. One of the shops told me that they were looking for reasons to disapprove the claim – words out of their mouth. I was at the shop that worked on my car and they had a bad experience so they were a victim as well. At the end of the day, it was a lot of lack of communication. But it was real easy to make a payment on purchasing the warranty and they're quick to sell me one. The policy overall is pretty affordable. The claim aspect of it is the biggest issue I have. They need improvement on communication.

    I heard about ProtectMyCar and decided to find out about them. The one thing I wasn't happy with was with some of the stuff I looked at and we discussed. When I opened the paperwork, I realized there were certain things they didn’t cover. After a while, I decided I’d read through my contract. This one didn’t cover some stuff that were supposed to be covered like the wheel, the wheel bearings and the caliper. At the price I’m paying at $73 a month, I should be covered for those ball joints. But it was nice when I filed a claim. I faxed it in. They paid for it and we shouldn’t have a problem with that. I can recommend ProtectMyCar although we didn’t get everything. It's been a good experience.

    Submitting a claim with ProtectMyCar is really easy. I just have to take my car to the mechanic and tell the problem, then the mechanic calls ProtectMyCar who will first send an inspector to check and verify if that is the problem. From then on, they take over the payment and I only had to pay the deductible. Making payments is easy as well. They take it out of my account - $80 a month for two years and I'll be covered for 75,000 miles - and I don't have to worry about it, though I haven't had to use their roadside assistance as most of the problems have happened close to my house. I have recommended ProtectMyCar to people at my work. It's a great company and they promise what they put in the contract. Every part is covered. I had experiences with the transmission and the starter, and they've provided great service.

    The plan was definitely affordable and submitting a claim wasn’t difficult. The team at ProtectMyCar was also very nice and pleasant. They’re very helpful every time I talk to them. They seem to be in a good mood at all times. However, when I needed towing, I didn’t know that I couldn’t have any more towing after I used it three times in a year. Also, it was not even a week after I got my car fixed when somebody ran into it and tore it up. I didn’t know that I have a rental car available to me. Other than those, I really like this program. It’s just no use to me now because I don’t have a vehicle. I’m going to have one next month so I’m just going to have to switch over.     The payment for the warranty from ProtectMyCar is an easy process as they just deduct it on my account. However, submitting a claim to them was complicated and a little headache. I go to the shop and they have to call ProtectMyCar but they're not open on Sundays. I had to pay to get my car done, and get reimbursed. I have only used three oil changes. My experience with them has been a learning process but if I had to do it all over again, I probably wouldn’t.

    I could not recommend ProtectMyCar, my experience was bad. At first, the lady that I talked to convinced me that I should go with their company. But when I had to use it (I filed the claim through the phone), I had to go through a lot of stuff to get my car fixed. I have been paying on time and I feel that there was a lot of stuff that I should not have gone through. I ended up speaking with the representative because of this, and the guy at the dealership ended up fixing my car. And if my car was not fixed, they were not going to put me up for the car rental benefit, because I lived 7 miles away. I've only used it one time. Hopefully, I don't have to use it again because if I'm going to have to go through the same thing again or worse, then I might have to drop it.
