My air conditioner was going out so if I was going to grab an auto warranty provider, it would be a good time. It was convenient that Protect My Car called me but I turned them down at first as it was supposed to be $250 downpayment. I told them I didn't have it then they lowered it to $100 so I agreed. He was really nice and explained everything but he talked about it fast because it's a spiel to them. He got it down the path but ran over what they covered which is a lot of things. He also told me to call their number and there’s only one $100 deductible if they fix three covered items or one covered item and went into the details well.
However, they're slow responding to the mechanic shop and from what I understand, they're super picky if your transmission goes out. They're only going to replace a piece in it, not your whole transmission. I haven't had to deal with that part yet but the mechanic told me a lot of places don't take Protect My Car because they're slow to respond. He added they don't have all day to wait for them to respond before they work on my car. Protect My Car also denied a claim before. If your timing belt or water pump goes out, it's a wear-and-tear item and I didn't know it at the time so I was responsible.
I’ve also used their towing and they responded fairly quickly. But the towing company was rude so I placed a complaint against them. The driver just dumped my car off to the mechanic and told him he didn't know what was wrong with it and he had to go. So my car sat there for two days and the mechanic didn't know who it belonged to, what they were supposed to do with it until I called them and I asked them what's up with my car and they told me that my car was sitting there with no info. But overall, Protect My Car has been helpful.

Mechanics make money from repairs. They may choose to do repairs that are not necessary just to increase the repair bill. They know they can't do that with out professional adjusters on the job.
If you review the policy you will see that we list each and every covered component so there is no guess work as to what will be covered.
If we are picky, it is for your benefit. We want to make sure the right repair is done and done right the first time. Bottom line, please call us if you have questions or problems with your car. We will always give you straight up honest answers.

ProtectMyCar seemed to be pretty good and less expensive. I set up my payments with them on automatic pay and submitting a claim had not been too bad at all. But, I was disappointed that they didn’t cover my tape deck inside the radio. Otherwise, I’ve had no problems with them. I’ve normally gone to the dealer or the shop and they’ve talked to ProtectMyCar for me.

The purpose of the policy is to help pay the cost of covered repairs for mechanical breakdowns. No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you will be glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.

I was dropped by another auto warranty company because I missed a payment after over a year and a half. The payment was only late by nine days yet that company canceled out everything and wouldn't let me make back payments. So I went on the internet to see if I could find another company and ended up purchasing auto warranty from Protect My Car. The guy I talked to made me feel comfortable. He made me feel that I had a right to be angry because what happened to me wasn't a normal protocol. Then, he told me about his product and to take some time to think about it. The next day he sent me an email with his personal name. He also sent me literature about the company and I thought that was kind of stand-up.
Also, Protect My Car allowed me to pick the best time in the month to pay them. I have two mortgages so I cannot pay anything between the 1st and the 15th of the month. My payment had to be after the 15th and they were fine with that. They take payments from my account. I am on a workman's compensation and so it's hard for the money to be there when the payments come in. I would get an email or a call from Protect My Car stating that they weren't able to clear a payment. When that happens, I go to put money in the bank, send the payment and we continue on. They have always been very courteous, polite and professional.
Thus far, I've submitted two big claims. First, I worked with Precision to get some motor mounts on my vehicle. I took my paperwork up there from Protect My Car. It had my claim number and information on it. Within an hour, Precision called me and said they were authorized to do the work on the car. And so I brought the car the next day and the shop fixed it in a couple of hours. The shop handled the claim. The only problem that I have with that particular incident was it took Protect My Car a few weeks to pay the shop.
I had an engine light that came on three days after the work was done. When I took the car back to the shop, they said they didn't have a problem in fixing it but they needed to get paid first. I called three weeks later and they still hadn't gotten paid. Three weeks to a month passed and my car's air-conditioning system went out. I told the shop that something was wrong with my air and that I needed to bring my car up. I asked if they had all been paid and they said everything has been taken care of. But I don’t understand what the late payment was on the first bill and when I called, I really wasn’t able to get any additional information.
The person I spoke to said, “We have this under control. We are dealing with Precision. Sometimes we go back and forth depending on what the bill is.” When I got off the telephone, I was a little annoyed but I shook it off ‘cause he was absolutely right. I had my vehicle and it was fixed. There was a little issue and he said he would take care of that. But they might want to send a little letter to their customer saying, “On so and so day, you had your vehicle fixed. Even though everything was approved, there was some little minor stuff. This is the result from that.”

Unlike some companies, we pay claims with a corporate credit card right over the phone to avoid any delay in payment for the repair. The payment information was provided to the shop timely. We do not know why it took several days for them to run the payment and we regret any inconvenience to you. When a situation like that happens, plese call us to so that we can fix the problem.
Please call us anytime you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to help out.

I was looking at some extended warranties online and Protect My Car happened to call me and I found them interesting. Their price was great. The warranty was pretty much easy, forward and upfront. But, I’m not sure about the company now. What happened was that the guy who sold me the policy told me that everything in my truck as electronic or when the electricity went through, they will cover. Then when I went to go and make a claim about a few things, they’re telling me that they don’t cover it, such as my dashboard where the light that the key stays off for the passenger seat. When the seatbelt is put, they click in but the light doesn't go off and that's weird. However, Protect My Car wouldn’t cover that.
To submit a claim was pretty easy because I just take my truck to Nissan and Nissan calls them. I don't take it to anybody else. I called Protect My Car to ask about my Bose System III, a stereo system which is electronic, and my navigation, and they’re saying that both navigation and stereo were not covered even though they're electronics and my car is fully powered. So, I don’t know what’s going on.
Another thing is that Nissan fixed the motors in my power windows and there’s one left that’s not working so I got to take it in. There were also a few things that need to be touched up. Protect My car told me everything in my truck should be covered but it wasn’t explained what it shouldn’t and what it wouldn’t cover. I can understand it but my truck is fully loaded and I told them that from day one. Now, they’re acting like they don’t want to fix stuff. When I take my car in, just fix my car and that’s it. I’m paying the deductible every month. Just in case a problem happens, there’s insurance. That's the purpose of getting the policy. Overall, I won’t recommend Protect My Car to anyone.

Please do not hesitate to review the policy to see the long list of components that are covered, or call us anytime you have a question.
We are glad that the coverage has saved you more in repairs than the policy has cost you. That's how you know you chose the right coverage.

I have been with Protect My Car for a while. They were reasonable in terms of price and covered a lot compared to others. I submitted a claim with them and I probably never understood that once the car gets to a certain age, certain coverages are being dropped. Even though I was shocked that day, but I understood that the older the car, the more problems come about. But other than that, they have been covering every other thing. The customer service was excellent, cordial and respectful. The person would refer me to the right department if he couldn't answer the question. Overall, they have been doing well and I'm even trying to bring my daughter on 'cause she just bought a car.

Thank you, too, for referring folks to us. We will treat them with just as much respect as we do you. Remember, if you referred someone to us who now has a policy we say thank you with a Visa gift card. Please let us know who you have referred so we can thank you this way

I chose Protect My Car because of the price. When filing a claim, I hate talking to computers and answering machines. On the telephone, I had to talk to someone one on one because a machine is not specific on what you want to do. I had to talk to a real person so they know exactly what I’m talking about. They give you options and you have to pick one that’s close to what you’re talking about. Talking with a person is great but talking with a machine is hectic. The claim was fine but it’s hard to get them on the weekends. I let my mechanic submit a claim for me because he’s working on it. He’s talking about a number he had to get from Protect My Car. But I can get it, that’s fine.
I also got towing and car rental where I have to put out money to pay for something to get reimbursed. I called one time but I can’t get through. I had to call AAA to get some help. Making payments wasn’t difficult because it’s automatic bill. Also, someone will call me when it’s almost time for me to pay it. They keep in touch with me. I’m grateful for that because usually I’m so busy so much and I tell my friends Protect My Car is fine.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect my Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

ProtectMyCar's claims process was simple. Their reps told me I can go to the dealership, get the dealer a fixed fee and the dealer will submit the claim. I was able to get a rental car when my car was being fixed. However, ProtectMyCar should pay for more things on their warranty. I needed a water pump and they paid for it and they knew that when you get a water pump, you have to get fluids refilled but they wouldn’t pay for it.

I had some issues with ProtectMyCar recently. Something went wrong with my engine. I found out that there were parts on my engine that they don't cover, and I didn't like that. But that's the only issue I've really had with my car. I got them because when I was reading on their website it said that this covers everything except for wear and tear. When I brought my car to Chapman Nissan, I told them the issue with my car and they never fixed the issue. So, it was actually on them but they placed the blame on ProtectMyCar. Chapman Nissan asked the agents so they can replace the engine to which they said, "No." So, I'm trying to pursue a lawsuit against Chapman Nissan right now. As with ProtectMyCar, they'll fix the front arm control and the lower arm control which is very helpful. They're cool.

We do hope you are successful in your claim against the shop.

When I first took the warranty out from Protect My Car, I was under the impression that everything was covered. However, they denied the only claim I put in with them, which was for the fuel sensor. They were pretty short and sweet to tell me to read the contract better. The supervisor didn't try to sympathize or explain it any better. My experience had been a little disappointing.

We regret that the adjuster did not offer the sympathy you would have liked. No disrespect was intended. We do find that those policyholders who take the time to read the coverage have a better understanding of the coverage and the value it represents to them. Of course, please do not hesitate to call us anytime you have any questions.

I have used Protect My Car two times since I've had it. The first time, it took awhile for my claim to be addressed because they did not cover the claim and it was a pain for my dealer to contact them. I had to have my car at the dealer for about a week. It's also a pain to even get the approval. On the other hand, the second time I filed a claim, it was all right. They’ve been professional and for now, the car is good.

I met an agent in Fontana, and I went with them since I lack experience. ProtectMyCar was a good deal but when it came time for actual repairs on the car, they tried denying it. They finally end up paying it because I wouldn’t give up. I submitted claims on the phone and I received little help because ProtectMyCar doesn’t want to approve it and the claims representatives say that it's not covered because of some reason. So, I took my car and got five miles down the road and I had to go back to the shop because the axle fell out. It wasn’t a good experience and I’m still paying on it. Making payments is really easy, though, and they use a 3- to 5-day window when they take it out. Still, I don’t really like dealing with them anymore.

We are glad you have saved more than three times the policy premiums you paid in. That is how a good policy should work.

I researched on the computer and Protect My Car is one of the top warranties. It has a lot of good reviews and a good Better Business Bureau rating. And they fit my budget, as well. We only had to do one claim and it was our starter. And it was really fast and it helped us out a lot. It saved us about $140. Filing the claim was also easy because the car dealership filed it and then did their business. I didn’t have to file and have to be reimbursed which is something I didn’t want to have to do. Everything was done and we just had to pay Midas $100 and walk out with our car. I like Protect My Car and I'll use it again if our car warranty runs out.

I wanted to get an up-to-mark warranty for my car and somebody said that there are lots of them I could find on the internet. I looked through the internet and thought Protect My Car was the best one. When I contacted them, the rep was a professional high-pressure salesperson. I told him I didn't want to make the commitment but he wouldn't stop and gave me an extra discount. He was the craziest used-car salesman I could ever imagine.
He made me believe that everything's covered bumper-to-bumper except for the tires. I asked him what specifics regarding the air conditioning, engine issues and he said, "It's covered from the click of your turner button on your air conditioning to the fan to the cooling dispenser to the unit to the blah-blah-blah." But when I filed one claim, nothing was covered. The fan on my air conditioner that went out a year after I bought the insurance wasn't covered. I'm going to cancel this insurance.

The only claim you filed was for repair of the A/C, transmission gasket and door lock actuator. The policy paid over $430 of the $600 repair cost. The policy does not cover wear and tear items like the gasket.
Thank you for continuing to be a valued customer. We know the policy will continue to be a great money saver for you.

The speech of the gentleman from Protect My Car and the protection they offer made me purchase an extended auto warranty from them. I took my car to a dealer and they looked it over to see what was wrong with it. They came back to me, called Protect My Car and said that they were not going to cover my ball joint in the front of my car so it was going to cost me $700 and I can't afford it. I called them and talked to somebody and they did cover it. The payment was high but it could be cheaper and I have to remember to keep that money in the bank. And when they take it out, they don't warn me ahead of time which is a bad thing.
If someone doesn’t remember and don't have the money in there, they're going to get an overcharge. If they’re going to be taking money out in the account, notify the person on such day or do it two days and then they answer, not a day or two days in advance. It would be good for people because they can't really remember it. The rich maybe but not someone like me. Other than that, I'm very satisfied because they fixed my car.

I like Protect My Car's pricing. I've submitted a claim for my Impala's computer but it's not covered so I had to pay out-of-pocket. And for my Chrysler Pacifica, I submitted claims for the transmission and the alternator. It took time for my Chrysler with the transmission, and I had to wait almost seven days for the part to be delivered. Also, the rental car benefit didn't work for me because they wanted me to pay out-of-pocket first and then they will reimburse. That's a little bit confusing as far as I'm paying for rental cars. We had two cars so my wife dropped me off at work when she went to work so, it was an inconvenience.
In addition, when you call and say that you are located at a certain place and it does not come up, you have to have the tow company call you to find out where exactly you are. I had to wait two times and I missed my three hours of work when calling for towing for my car because of the return time of the process of the calling of the location and then the arrival of their towing was a little inconvenient.

Thanks again for your comments and being a long time policyholder.

ProtectMyCar has a good price for their coverage and submitting a claim with them was fast. It was not difficult but it was a little bit confusing in the way that I wasn't informed or it wasn’t detailed when I did the contract with them that I have to submit the claim through email or through my phone. Also, at first, I thought it was me who had to make the call but at the end my mechanic or the one that was doing the job that needs to call ProtectMyCar. But it worked okay after that. And making payments for purchasing the extended auto warranty was very easy and I do it directly with my credit card. ProtectMyCar has very good service. I recommend Protect My Car to people and give them the company's information. I let them know it's affordable, and I think it's a good buy. Making payments for my extended warranty was easy as ever. It was less than $70 down payment and the monthly is less than that. I'm glad I got it. I submitted a claim once, and it was wonderful. I took my vehicle to the dealership, gave them the information, and they turned it in. I talked with the people at Protect My Car, they explained what it was, and then I had to pay my $100 deductible. I got a car from my neighbor which is a 2007 and only had 18,000 miles on it. It's a Chrysler and they're known to have lots of problems especially with the electronics. I figured it's stuff that my brother and I can't fix, I better get a warranty and ProtectMyCar had the best price. One time, the fan went through the radiator and blew it out. I took it in and got the estimate. At the same time, they also looked at other parts of the car because I was having some clunking noises in the front-end and I needed some front-end parts too. I submitted the claim and at first, they said that my prices were too high from the dealership. They were giving the dealership a hard time and I told them we don’t wanna use their parts. We'll buy the parts and we'll send them to them and they put them on which they ended up doing.
The fan was the only thing that they didn’t supply and I was a little ticked off about that. I know the dealership is not trying to cheat them because the last time I took in and I thought the computer was blown, that’s what the code said and the guy went through it and the only thing that was wrong was a blown fuse. They put the fuse in there, no charge and they're honest. They could have said this and that were wrong but they didn’t. But ProtectMyCar had to send a guy in to inspect the car to make sure they weren’t trying to cheat them and then, he approves everything. They got me waiting extra two days for the parts.
I used the tow service to get it towed last time from my house to the dealership and it's great. They also offered me the rental car but I had another vehicle, so I didn’t take it. Other than that, it went great. The total bill was $2200 and all I had to pay was my $100 so, I was a happy camper. Also, my payment is set up online and automatically comes out of my checking account every month so, that's pretty easy and I'm happy with the service I'm getting.

When we hire a specialist to examine a policyholders vehicle it is not because we think the shop is out to cheat anyone. While that can happen, it is very rare. We have been helping customers for over a decade and we know from experience that vehicle repairs can be misdiagnosed. This is not a refelction on the shop you chose. They are very competent and professional. It is simply being cautious in order to protect our policyholders.
In order to get a complete diagnosis of the problem we hire at our expense a specialist to take a look at the automobile and give us an independent diagnosis. As we are sure you will agree, fixing only a part of the problem, or the wrong problem, could cost you a lot of lost time and trouble. It was well worth spending this time to make sure the repair was done right the first time.

ProtectMyCar has a good price and I have peace of mind when something major happens to the car. The dealer told me about a protection plan for $3,000 and it was not worth it. I got this option to pay $50 a month and it is more reasonable. The price flexibility is one of the reasons I chose ProtectMyCar and if I don’t want to have any strings attached and I have to keep it no matter what, it's a good option. The rep explained the deal in less than 30 minutes on the phone. I'm very busy traveling all the time so it was convenient for me to close the deal at that time. The first time I submitted a claim with Protect My Car was in Las Vegas. My alternator went out and they fixed it. But I’ve also had a bad experience with them. When I submitted my second claim, they said it had to be broken for them to fix it. The rep from Protect My Car talked to the dealer and the dealer said my warranty didn't cover it until it's broke all the way. That didn’t make sense to me. But I had to do it their way and got it fixed myself and that made me mad. The only reason why I’m keeping them is because I may have problem that could happen. But I’d tell people to check more into it because it’s a gamble for everything.

The reason we do not simply go with a shops "recommended' repairs is because many shops recommend doing unnecessary work to raise the cost of repairs. We do not approve replacing a component simply because a shop thinks it "might" break down. Shops are great for putting ear into the minds of consumers. rest assured, should you have another breakdown we will be there to help, like we did for you in las Vegas.

Protect My Car said that I was getting a lower deal and I tried negotiating with them a few times. And then later on when I paid, I didn’t get that deal so I'm not entirely ecstatic. I submitted a claim for a windshield driver side window. I went to the dealer and said it is going to be a claim on the insurance. They said it was harder to work with that particular insurance and it wasn’t a good deal. But it got done and I have a $100 deductible and it was paid for with the insurance.
After initially being told I would get one deal and not getting it, I got lost to the whole thing that I felt that it was going to be a hassle to deal with. They came out of Florida and I was very suspicious 'cause there were a lot of shady stuff in Florida for sales of timeshares and things like that. After my first negotiations and not having a really clear idea of what I'm paying and how I'm paying it, I found that to be as not as clear-cut as it could have been. I felt like I was talking to somebody who said I was getting a deal and then they resubmit the same deal so I wasn’t happy about that.

When you first took out the policy your monthly premiums were scheduled to be $53.85. The "deal" you referred to was to lower your cost to assist you with your budget. Your policy cost was lowered a total of $950, which lowered your monthly premiums to just $39.54. That is the amount you have been paying for the last 18 months or so for the coverage.
We were happy to assist you with the cost of repairing the window motor. The policy saved you quite a bit of money on just that one repair.
So not only did you get the deal you mentioned from day 1, but the policy has already proven to pay for covered repairs and save you a ton of money. Still, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.

I was looking online and I talked to the person from Protect My Car. He answered all my questions and it sounded good to me. So, I went for it. I submitted one claim and it was supposed to be paid but something got lost in the email so, it took longer for the people that fixed it to get the check. But they got paid. As far as I know, I got the full boat. But I'm disappointed because Protect My Car didn’t cover the whole heating system. My resistor relay and blower motor went out. So, I had to have that replaced and it's $600. You got to have a blower motor to have heat in air conditioning. And I figured that covers the whole heating and cooling system but it does not.
And then, I went through four resistor relays in a year. It’s either a bad part or there's something wrong with the vehicle. But I didn't have the money for them to completely run through the whole system. The heating and cooling thing were the ones that really got me because from what I read, it was covered. And even the guy that did the work said that most of the time, with the companies that he has dealt with, they have covered it and other stuff such as the brakes and the braking system. But mine doesn't cover any of that. They have to word it a little better to "Does not cover your blower motor blah, blah, blah." Most people, once they read that, they'd think that it is covered. The fuel pump went out and they covered that for me. But they didn't cover one part and I had to pay for that. So far, everything has been okay and I'd definitely recommend it to somebody.

You have no doubt reviewed the policy and have seen that the policy lists each and every covered component. We make it very clear what components are covered and which are not. The reason for this is simple. We want you to know right up front and in writing exactly what is covered with no hidden or confusing terms. Some components are not covered and for a very good reason. If we covered every single component of your vehicle, the cost of the policy could easily be three or four times what you are paying for it. Most people would be unable to afford such coverage. We cover the components that are most likely to break down and for the most part are the costliest to repair.
The purpose of the policy is to pay the cost of covered repairs less the deductible.

There were representatives available when I called to submit a claim with Protect My Car. For the most part, the people I spoke with were professional. However, it's false advertising to say they offer things but they don't. I had an issue with my car and had to get it fixed but Protect My Car didn’t want to fix anything when I took it to the dealership. Things were not covered because it's a third party warranty company. They had an issue with the amount of time that the dealership said they would need for certain things. Paying for the extended auto warranty was easy but could be easier. They automatically debit it out of my account but only using my card number instead of my routing and checking account number. If friends were to ask me about Protect My Car, I'd tell them to try to find somebody else. I’m just using it out of security more than necessity, just in case something was to happen but I’ve been thinking about calling and getting it canceled.

You are certainly correct to say that it is false advertising to offer things that are not provided. That is why we do not do that in any way. The policy is very clear as to which components are covered and which are not. That is why we were able to help you with your last repair on some but not all components. Belts, seals and gaskets are wear and tear items and are not covered. The policy is intended to cover mechanical breakdown repair costs to the components listed in the policy.

They’ve been great when I submit claims over the phone. I like that they worked with me on the payments. Making my payments through auto pay worked out great. If I'm short, then they just call me, and I can get the payment right through to them. I'm happy with my auto warranty, they’ve done me a good deal.

I used my previous car warranty for three years and they treated me very well but they wouldn’t renew so I got Protect My Car in Clearwater, Florida because I live there and also because of the coverage and the low out of pocket which is a hundred bucks. Last year I was travelling and had a breakdown and my car won’t run over 40 miles per hour. I flagged down a state trooper and he led me to the Mercedes dealer in Alexandria, Virginia where they had to do some work that cost $1800 but it wasn’t covered because it was not a maintainable part and they handled everything and submitted the claim. I got a courtesy car from Mercedes to drive for two weeks because they had to order parts.
After the claim was denied, I was a little upset and called Clearwater and talked to a lady about it. She said it was really covered by sub-contractors. They don’t pay for it directly so she gave me the name of the company and a phone number. I called them and spoke to a gentleman and he gave me a $400 credit towards my repair bill. He was very kind and it helped me out greatly. I was happy about that but mad about the claim because I don’t know why it wasn’t covered. Ever since then, I’ve been thinking about calling Protect My Car and get more coverage. Apparently, the plan I took is not good enough and I didn’t realize that a lot of my parts aren’t covered. It was probably a lack of communication on somebody’s part when I bought the plan.

The repair to your intake manifold involved a component that is not listed for coverage. However, we did approve the repair on a good will basis for you.

I got a phone call offering added protection and warranty to my Dodge because I was out of warranties from the dealership as the car went beyond the mileage. The guy that proposed their program sold me on it because I needed something pretty quickly, it made sense, and it was affordable. He was very knowledgeable about ProtectMyCar, gave me a lot of good information, and was very patient with me because I wasn’t a 100% certain that I was gonna do it. He worked with me on the timing of it and was following up with me to the point where I fully understood what I was getting out of. I'm glad I did it.
It worked out as I had some transmission failures recently and it really came in handy. I filed a claim through a transmission shop, who was very good and did all the work and took care of all the claims stuff for me. There were a lot of specifics that were not covered and I felt like there should have been a little bit more coverage in terms of the transmissions repairs. ProtectMyCar's a little picky about it because certain things would cost more, but at least I had the majority of it covered which was nice. That’s part of ProtectMyCar's guided policy which I understood.
I auto-pay every month of $50 and I've had the program for about two years. So, it's a little over $600 a year and the transmission repairs were gonna cost me probably close to $1500. I ended up having to only pay about $400 so it paid for itself. They processed the claim quickly for me with the transmission dealership and it's pretty effortless.

You really hit the nail on the head. A good policy will easily save you twice what you spend on the premiums. That is how you know you made the right decision to protect yourself and your budget.

ProtectMyCar was the first auto warranty provider I talked to that was reasonable. When I submit a claim, I just take it to the shop and they talk to them - I don’t really talk to them. I just have to pay the deductible, and he payments are worth it. I had nothing major yet, but, I have used it twice already and I'm alright with it. So far, I haven’t experienced anything wrong with it.

Except for the dealerships, ProtectMyCar was the first one to call me and my experience with them has been good so far. The dealership usually does all of submitting the claim so I don’t worry about it. Also, the payments come out automatically from my credit card every month. What gets me is that they don’t pay for all the diagnostics. Every time I take the car in and there are 3-4 things to be done, ProtectMyCar charges me $100 for each diagnostic they do so it costs me. Also, when I was out of my truck and I needed a vehicle for three weeks while they were working on my car, they didn’t have the vehicle warranty and didn’t know the diagnostic. A lot of these guys were advertising to get the diagnostics and the vehicle that comes along with it and it's disappointing because when one lives out in the country, you need your truck.

A diagnostic is simply the estimate done by the shop to find out what has broken down on the vehicle and what the cost sill be to fix it. If the breakdown is addressable by the policy then, as in your claim, the diagnostic is covered as well. If the diagnostic shows the repair is to wear and tear items then the policy does not cover those items so the diagnostic would likewise not be covered.
We do not charge for diagnostics, the shop you choose does that. We simply pay the covered repairs once the shop has completed those repairs.

I shopped around for an auto warranty and Protect My Car had a better deal. It's good but the first time I put in a claim, it was terrible. I submitted it and they took forever to contact a repair shop and when they got there, they declined everything and they didn't pay for anything. When I try to get information as to why it was declined, they told me to go read the contract. So I'm in the process of looking for somewhere else because that wasn't a good experience. Making payments for purchasing the extended auto warranty was easy though.

As with any policy, no matter who issues it, some components are covered and some are not. Our policies list each and every component covered by the policy. Our agent simply suggested that by reading the policy you will have a better understanding of the coverage. You may always, of course, dall us if you have any questions.

And also their people are pretty honest and straightforward throughout the whole process. I ran into one issue and I went to Dodge and they told me what was wrong with my car. I said that I have an extended warranty and gave them ProtectMyCar numbers. Dodge called ProtectMyCar, filed the claim and everything got situated pretty smoothly. If only I have a copy of my warranty on my phone like the app then I would know what is and what isn’t covered. It would have saved me time and Dodge would not even have to give them a phone call to figure out stuff. But then I liked the payment arrangements and I'm satisfied overall.

ProtectMyCar was in that top 10 extended car warranties and they fit my budget and my needs. It's easy for me to make the payments since I do it through my credit card monthly. I always call to let them know I'm taking the car in for what I think is going wrong with the car and have them look at the car. Then all the paperwork was filled out at the dealership. When I submitted a claim, the agent said that the dealership would take it. However, there's this particular dealership that I dealt with who denied hearing that, but the guy did take the number and call them in and so he considered my claim. Also, dealerships would always just do part of it and then find something else that the warranty didn't cover to charge me with.
But it's been a good partnership for me to have because there have been several times they've paid part of my bill and have used the rental as well. There was one particular incident which I was very happy with. I dealt with the man named Chaz and he was excellent in my dealings with ProtectMyCar. The problem with my GMC 2009 was something that General Motors knew about all along and he really helped me. I've taken the car in for about four or five times for the same thing. He called the dealership and took the initiative to discuss it with them, and they were able to cover part of my warranty. My bill was going to be over $1,000 plus, but using ProtectMyCar, I only wound up paying about half of that. So it was well worth having ProtectMyCar.

There are false companies out there and I had a good feeling that ProtectMyCar was special. I searched for it online because my coverage had gone out for my car. Their claims process was long. I expected it to be faster but I understand why because I want to make sure they’ll cover their end. In my experience being a customer, I understand the process such as if my engine breaks down. When I submitted the claim, they had to send someone out there and then I had to wait for information to be sent back from the inspector.
I was trying to figure out when I can expect to have my car back because it costs me a lot of money for the rental car. When I was talking with a rep, he wasn’t answering my question the way I wanted him to. Throughout the process, he was trying to get a good timeframe of when and how long I can rent my car. I work in an industry so when we quote something and say within five business days, I have to say that even though it would be three days. That’s not what the guy was doing. But he stayed calm and listened to me the way I wanted. Other than that, the process went great. I appreciate them following through on what I expected because I dished my money out.
It was easy using the website when I first got it but I did the claim over the phone. It’s convenient for me because I work a lot. It’s a great service. They paid me back for my services and that was great. It was only for a certain percentage but I was satisfied with it because I ended up spending only 100 of my dollars. I was happy with that and I appreciate it. ProtectMyCar is dependable and I like the people that work for them, too.

It has gone longer than it should have gone but everything went smooth in the end. So once they cleared that up, they reimbursed me my money.
Paying for purchasing the extended warranty was easy because they take it directly out of our account. Signing up for that was also easy. I was going to get an extended auto warranty and tried ProtectMyCar since they were advertising. It's easy for me to make payments for my auto warranty because I do automatic draft for them. But my first experience with ProtectMyCar was rough. I had just gotten my auto warranty and I had a problem with my axle and roller. When I went to take my car to get the oil changed, they said that my roller was bad.
When I submit a claim, I call and speak to a person, and I always write down the name of the person I have spoken with so when I call again I can speak to that person. But it was really hell for me for the first three weeks when I tried to submit a claim because every time I called to speak to someone, they gave me another person. I had to get my daughter on the phone to call for me and tell them, "It's been two weeks now and my mom still hasn't got that car fixed. You say that the problem with the car has been recorded. I'm going to file a lawsuit if anything happens to her in this car."
It took almost three weeks for me to get the car fixed. Goodyear did the service on my car, but they kept saying that they couldn't do anything until they heard from ProtectMyCar. But ProtectMyCar would not give me a rental car, so I had to pay out-of-pocket for one. I wasn't happy about that but I needed to get to work. I work two jobs and need my car.
Recently, I also had a flat and needed my car towed home. I tried to use the road assistance and maintenance perks but I couldn't get through on the line. The recording said the line was too busy within the area where I live and I had to wait an hour and a half to get through. But I couldn't wait all day, so I called someone else to get my car towed. Other than that, ProtectMyCar was okay because they finally got my car going. But my car is still knocking in the tires, even though they fixed the axle. But they’re still good even though I had a bad experience and I will recommend them to someone else.

However, when I first submitted a claim with them, they didn't believe me. When I called them to file it, the person I talked to was kind of fishy and was looking for maintenance records to prove that I am taking care of my car.
I live in Pennsylvania so I have to get yearly maintenance but I told them that I only had the car for three months and it started having issues so I wouldn't have that many maintenance records. The only maintenance I really did on it was some on brakes and oil change. I then made the place where I'm getting my car fixed at call them and after that, they handled my claim right away. I used a rental car for the rest of the time my car was in the shop but I didn't get it long enough so I needed it so I had to pay it out of pocket. I have submitted a claim over the phone on two occasions, where one was approved while the other wasn’t, but it was easy interacting with the claims representative. I only wish that I read the warranty a lot deeper than what I did because there were some things that I thought were covered, but they were not.

You policy addresses the beakdown of the mechanical components listed in the policy. (See page 8 for a complete list). The claim that was denied was for the replacement of a headlamp. That is a wear and tear item not covered under mechanical breakdown policies. On the other hand, the door lock acuator is a covered component and that repair was covered under the policy.
The purpose of the policy is to pay the cost of covered repairs less the deductible. No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more likely that future repairs will be required. I've been with ProtectMyCar for a year and a half. The auto warranty that I got from them seemed like a good thing. My car didn't have low mileage on it at the time I signed up, but still there was always this fear that something might happen and I would have to put out thousands of dollars for repair. So far, I've only had to do one claim but it was very well-received. The money was a little bit of an issue because I'm retired and on a fixed, monthly income, but the company was willing to hold on to me long enough that they gave me a year of free oil changes which really helped even though I can get an oil change for $30 through coupons. I'm glad that they talked me into staying because about eight months later, I had an issue where I needed them and they had no hesitation on paying the bill.
The only thing that confused me a little bit was I had to have a thermostat put in because I was having coolant problems. They took care of the whole issue except for replacing all the fluid that needed to be replaced for the job that was being done. If the fluid wasn't replaced, then the job they were doing wouldn't have been any good. I got stuck paying for that, which took me up almost $300. I thought that since that was part of something that had to be replaced in the job they were doing, that should have been covered and they should have paid for that, too. And I was a little frustrated with that part.
But the claims reps over the phone were very nice. Likewise, the people I dealt with that did the work on my car were very polite and helped when they could. Even though I've just used them once, they picked up close to $1,000 worth of work and that was very beneficial to me. It would have been a big deal for me and my car would have been sitting. I have a very good experience with ProtectMyCar and I'm very happy with them. I appreciated them being there whenever I needed them and for the money that I pay each month. And with the free oil changes that I get, it's a good deal. I tell everybody that's got an older car about ProtectMyCar.

ProtectMyCar was able to work with my budget. I've used the roadside assistance quite often and I recently had some work done on my car at the dealership. It saved me a lot of money because it was $4,000 worth of work needed to be done and the coverage allowed me to only have to pay $2,000. It really helped and the stuff that was covered under the warranty was stuff that would have landed me relatively an arm and a leg, almost to the point where it wasn't even worth trying to repair the car and still pay a car note.
ProtectMyCar was definitely beneficial to have even though I didn't use it as often as I should have. The tire was well as they had 62,000 miles on it when I purchased it so, it wasn't a whole lot of wear and tear on the vehicle. And so I submitted a claim to Protect My Car. At first, they said my problem wasn't covered. Then, they said that they wanted more records because the current records weren't clear enough. I sent them more records for oil changes and they said that wasn't good enough. That kept going until I had to get my lawyer involved. That's when they said that they would pay me already. Protect My Car gave me a new engine but that was after I got my lawyer fighting to try and get them to pay for my loss. And that was very distressful. Nevertheless, I would tell others to use Protect My Car but be more careful in documenting stuff because they ask a lot of questions.

It would seem from your comments that you were not happy with the questions the claims adjuster asked of you and your mechanic about the prior maintenance done on your vehicle. We hope you do not feel you were in any way singled out in asking about the maintenance on your vehicle. It is both responsible and professional to make these inquiries and is as much for your protection as it is to determine the complete scope of the repair and claim. There have been times when customers have paid mechanics and repair shops for maintenance services that were not performed completely or not at all. This is in no way a comment on the repairs shop you use but is standard practice to insure that our customer’s best interests are looked after.
W are happy we were able to pprove the engine replcement even before you had your counsel call us and that the repair was completed satisfactorily.

ProtectMyCar and the dealer for my vehicle didn’t see eye-to-eye. So, it took a long time to hash things out to get an approval to fix my car. I had a rental for a month and a half and they billed ProtectMyCar. But I couldn’t get a rental car until ProtectMyCar agreed to do the work. So, I went without a car for a week and a half. The engine chain needed to be replaced and mine went bad on me. ProtectMyCar said it’s a factory recall and my dealer felt like it’s not their issue. So, they only approved 85% of the bill and I had to pay the rest out-of-pocket. So, overall, if you are looking for an aftermarket warranty, ProtectMyCar is all right. They’re not bad, but they’re not the best either.

Also, there was no factory recall on the repair. There was a repair advisory issued by the manufacturer that we were aware of. The shop, though, as you said chose not to deal with it.
We are very glad the policy covered the cost of the correct repairs needed to be done to your vehicle.

I got ProtectMyCar because of my relative who works there and so far, it’s been good. I needed steering parts on my Escape, then the shop called them up and had no problem. They took care of everything. They called me back and gave them my credit card number to charge my deductible right then.
Also, I went in to get some work done, some oil change and they told me that the tie rods are bad. I wasn't expecting that. I called ProtectMyCar right from the shop and they took care of it right there. I just mail in a receipt then I get reimbursed. You also just go wherever you want to get a change. Then my payments are just debited every month. They have excellent service and knowledgeable and courteous staff. They've been perfect with car insurance too. I had a couple other quotes and I called them up and they beat them and actually up my coverage for a safety first. More coverage for less money. I have road service through that too.

I wanted an extended warranty on my car in case it breaks down, which happens once in a while, and Protect My Car was a lot less money than other prior companies that I called, where everything was over $3000. With them, I pay about $2600 to $2700 and it comes right out of my checking account. However, I've sometimes been told by the mechanics who deal with claims, that they have had trouble acquiring the payment, where they had to call back a second time. Also, I don't like how there were certain things that had to be fixed on my vehicle like belts, wiring, and the oil pan gasket which were not covered. It'd be nice if they were covered as well.

You should remember too that the policy is for mechanical breakdowns. It is not meant for wear and tear items that you mentioned. The policy lists each and every covered component. We want you to know right up front and in writing exactly what is covered with no hidden or confusing terms. If we covered tires, batteries and other wear and tear items, the cost of the policy could easily be three or four times what you are paying for it. Most people would be unable to afford such coverage. We cover the components that are most likely to break down and for the most part are the costliest to repair.
As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you will be glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.

It's been a good experience with Protect My Car. They have low payment plans and when I submit claims with them over the phone, it's usually a quick process. I text them the information then they approve the claim. Within a day, I'd get my car from the shop. And the claims representatives have been good. I’ve had two claims with them and in the first claim, they've been good and active. But in my current claim with them, I'm having an issue because my car has been at the shop for two weeks and we're waiting for them to tell if they're going to pay half of the job. Other than that, Protect My Car has been all right and making payments for purchasing the warranty and their towing service, which I have used, have been easy.

on this last claim, the shop you chose took over a week to provide a complete estimate of the repair to your vehicle. We questioned some of the estimated repairs since it appears you had just done that repair work recently. It did take some time, but we did make sure the shop knew what reapirs had to be done and were going to do them correctly. Part of our service is making sure the repair is not only done right but that the right repair is being done properly.
We are very glad the repair worked out so well for you. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Some guy from ProtectMyCar called and twisted our arms and manipulated us into it. They kept calling when we say no. Then they call back and say, “Well, look. You can do this. And it does this and that". We submitted a claim in the Fall of 2016 when we had two cars break down at the same time. So, we had bills out the union. On one of them, they paid well because it’s not as old as the other one. We ended up dropping it on one vehicle because they paid $25 on a $20,000 bill. We still have it on one of them, but we were misled on the other one. We were not told the payout was not the same. You should save your money, pay out of your pocket and get a savings account for your vehicle. It does not do any good. For one vehicle, it paid off but with the other one, not at all. So, we’ve wasted money.

We are not sure where you got the $25 number from or the $25,000 number. The fact is, the repair cost estimate from the shop you chose showed the repair cost to be $4,300. The coverage guarantees 25% reduction in that amount. That is why you only had to pay $ 3,200 on the repair.
When you other vehicle broke down, we offered to switch you coverage to a plan that could assist you (since the repair was not a covered repair under your coverage.) Most companies would have simply denied your claim. y switching your plan to a more affordable plan, it would have again saved you money on the repair. we regret that you did not choose to allow us to assist you.

I have an older vehicle and some issues kept popping up. I needed a new warranty that would cover it and Protect My Car was the only company that would insure me. When I signed up initially, I told the guy I'm a disabled vet and he told me how his father was in military so I felt comfortable. But since I'm sick and I took time off work, $65 a month is expensive. However, I won’t be able to afford paying something if something broke down and they assured me that $65 was the lowest they can go. Although I was hoping something a little bit lower because the fact I am driving an older car should tell them I don’t have a whole lot of income.
Some of my claims turned up well but I've been really disappointed with others. I got to put in the paper what’s covered but not being a mechanic, I didn’t know what else was involved with it. There’s been a couple of times where I had to take it to a repair shop and they told me it's not covered. I work on my car every once in a while but I don't know exactly what the coverage is. It's like medical terminology. They should put it in layman's terms to let us know what's covered. I’ve had to pay diagnostic fees out of my own pocket and a few months ago I paid for something because I didn’t know it was covered. I have these charges for about $400 for the part and labor and I had to pay it back on my credit card. I've been wanting to call and see if I could be reimbursed but I’m afraid that the company now won’t because I didn’t get authorization.

Your policy lists each and every covered component. That list starts on page 8. Please do not let a mechanic try and tell you something is not covered and do not try to determine that for yourelf. Please call us and let us help you. The only way we can help is if you lt us know that problems you are having with your vehicle. Please do call and let us know what repairs you have had done that you did not file a claim for.
So you will know, the policy has already saved you more than $1,000 over what the premiums have cost to date. Thats how you know you md a good decision on this coverage.
We apprecaite your being a long term policyholder. We will be in touch wih you to see how we can help with the issues you raised.

The few experiences I've had with with Protect My Car have been good. The claims process is really convenient and easy. I just go to the mechanic at the dealer and I give them the car. Then, they'd call me back to tell me that it's covered and I just have to pay $100 deductible. They've covered everything that my booklet says is covered. Once, I called their customer service team just to ask if something was covered and it was very cut and dry. They just said it was covered but they would need to check on my status. As for payments, I have automatic payment set up so they take it right out of my checking account every month and I've had no problems. I’d recommend them to a friend.

The pricing from Protect my Car was decent and making payments for it was simple and on auto pay. Also, I submitted a claim with them once and my experience on that wasn’t too bad. I put the dealership in touch with them directly and the repair was okay. But with regards to auto or emergency assistance, Protect My Car has awful, horrific and poor service. When I was locked out of my car, I’ve called them and they told me someone was on their way. I waited for over two hours but no one ever came and called back. They lied and left me stranded in the middle of the night.
The communication, between whoever provides the services and the customer service people I called when I needed towing or assistance, was horrible. Protect My Car needs to get the communication better. I kept going in and out of the store and couldn’t get a name or phone number to call somebody back directly and I was on hold for 40 minutes. It was the worst. When you’re stressed out and stranded, you need to know there’s someone who’s going to be reliable and care that you need assistance. But Protect My Car’s attitude was awful and I never got assistance, despite paying them every month. Also, the supervisor I spoke to was rude and disrespectful. I talked to several people until I got to her and she was indifferent like she didn’t care, and she kept making excuses. In the end, a total stranger used their AAA to get someone to come and help me which was embarrassing.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you had such a difficult time with the road side assistance. I keep getting calls from everybody wanting to do my car thing. I told them I already have some protection on my car. I just hang up on them. But at that time, I wasn't looking for any but the man from Protect My Car called me and we talked and talked and so I've finally come to a conclusion that I'll give them a shot. The people at the shop submit the claim for me and as far as I know Protect My Car keeps up their end of the bargain and pay the shop. But when I had some brake and radiator problems they weren’t covered.
My plan with them is pretty inexpensive for how much money I got. I'm retired so I just live off social security. They take it right out of my checking account once a month. I had a little problem at first getting them to take the money out. Then I finally convinced this person that worked there how to do it. I did that because I know I'd be bothered every month by these people asking me about the payment. I also negotiated with the guy to make sure that they’re not gonna raise the price each time and they've been taking out the same amount all the time for a while now. I'm satisfied with Protect My Car.

We work with our policyholders on their budget and method of payment. We are very glad we have been able to accomodate your needs in this way.
Remember, policies do not cover wear and tear items, like tires, belts or gaskets. We are glad to have paid for the radiator repair and the caliper repair.

My warranty was already up on my vehicle and I needed to get another one. So my wife contacted Protect My Car and then she gave them my number and they contacted me. I've only submitted one claim and I was not happy with the results. I had a problem with my car and Protect My Car told me to take it to any dealer that I wanted to. I went ahead and took it to the dealer who has been my mechanic for years. From what I understood from him, Protect My Car required so much out of him to give a diagnosis almost to the point of him fixing the car before the company would even authorize it to be done. So then, he was not able to fully diagnose the issue the way that they had wanted him to. He had ideas of what it was. But without getting into a major internal thing on the engine, he called me back and said, “I’m sorry I can’t meet their criteria.”
My mechanic put it back together and then I ended up taking it into a Chrysler dealer. They did the same thing that my mechanic had done and they diagnosed it as having a tension pulley that was out on the internal belt. So this was big dollars stuff and this was what Protect My Car advertised so that way you won’t be out-of-pocket. After the dealer got to the diagnosis, I was supposed to be given a rental car. Protect My Car told me to pay the rental for seven days and then they will reimburse me. However, they also said that they don’t pay for rental until I have a full diagnosis. So, I paid for a rental car for two and a half weeks before I even got a diagnosis.
Once I got the diagnosis, the dealer said it’s going to be $1,400 to fix my car. I called the agent from Protect My Car and then they told me that all they were going to cover was $400. The agent explained that after the incident, the blue book value of the vehicle is $400. He said, “You had a bad engine, so the value on your car is now only $400. So, we’re only going to cover $400, or $500 less your deductible which is $100.” So, they paid $400 and I ended up paying $1,000.
But if that’s the case, shouldn’t the blue book value be established before the car was damaged and not after? If I have a bad transmission and I submit my claim, they’d say, “Okay. You got a bad transmission. The car’s not operational. So, now the blue book value of your vehicle is only $400 and you're needing a $3,000 transmission.” Here all along you’re paying all this money and you're not getting anything back for what you're paying into it. It’s a little bit different from insurance. I sell insurance and I understand its risk, but how you advertise it is one way and then how you pay out your claims is totally different.
Also, Protect My Car had not covered my rental car to date. I also found out that if I cancelled my contract with the company, I’m still obligated to pay the full contract amount of about $3,600, the overall $100 a month for the next 36 months. I’m too afraid to cancel it. Protect My Car refused to discuss the issue. I was short of contacting an attorney to file a fraudulent claim against them. But I did not do that. I figured it’s behind me now. I’m going to continue to pay it. Hopefully, I don’t have anything major come up, because then I would be stuck.
I would recommend people not to get warranty from Protect My Car. I got folks who asked me about different types of insurance. I have recommended to a few that if they were looking for a supplemental like an auto warranty, they should go directly to their dealer and find out who their dealer recommends or a person or a company that they actually work with. I wouldn’t go with somebody off the internet or somebody who’s making cold calls.

When the first shop you took your vehicle to suggested that your heads needs replaceing, they were unable to support that determination with any facts., That is why we suggested that you take the vehicle to a dealership for a second opinion. It turned out that the second dealership only found the belt tensioners at fault, not the heads or valves. That repair was covered and paid for by the coverage.
Please note from your policy that we do not provide rental cars, but we do reimburse you for the expense of a rental car up to policy limits. Anytime you have a question about the coverage, please do not hesitate to call us if you do not have the opportunity to read the policy. We are glad to help.
We are glad the coverage saved you so much on your repairs and we appreciate your continued business.

I was angry at first and they didn’t pay for my car to get fixed. And then they made my payment lower, which made it easier for me to pay for my car to get fixed.

The shop I bring my vehicle to have been handling all my claims. They assess it and then they deal with Protect My Car to figure out what needs to be done. Purchasing my extended auto warranty was very easy and they charge me monthly. The only thing was that, for one claim, my car was in there for a while because it took a while to get the repair approved. They approved it in the end but they had to go through all the steps. The shop has the car in repair there so it’s been gone for two weeks.
The approval process is the biggest problem. I don’t deal with the claim directly so if I would do it, it probably would take even longer because I don’t know what I’m doing and the shop does. And then I have to rent a car and approve my reimbursement for five days. If the repair was only five days and then you bring it in, they approve it and you get your car back within a few days, then it works. But that’s not gonna help if the approvement itself takes too weeks. Overall, they are easy to buy but hard to submit claims.

ogether, the claims savd you over $3,000 in repair costs. Compared to the $650 in premiums you had paid, that is a great deal. We apologize if you feel the claims process took longer than you would have liked.

The ProtectMyCar agent who called me talked to me about the cost and what the warranty would entail. I asked him about what it would cover and he said bumper to bumper. A lot of times, when companies would say bumper to bumper, there is always some stipulation about what they’re paying. I had another extended warranty with my car and the door handle came off but they didn't cover it. Based on other warranties and costs, ProtectMyCar was the most affordable for me at that time. It also offered discounts for military associates and I was, so it was beneficial.
I have submitted one claim and it was quite easy. The dealership wanted say it was difficult but it wasn't. They tried to tell me that ProtectMyCar wasn’t reputable and that I wasn’t gonna get what ProtectMyCar had promised me. They really tried to discourage me about ProtectMyCar but I didn’t have any problems. I followed ProtectMyCar's instructions as to what I needed to do which was to go into the dealership. ProtectMyCar would tell the dealership what my problem was and once that was done, I would get the repair done that day, and I did. I was in and out because I already knew what the issue was based on someone checking the car prior to me going in.
The dealership wanted to make it a problem because they had to submit some paperwork on what they had done. But once they did what they had to do, ProtectMyCar covered everything. The dealership received their money and they got what they needed. As for me, my experience with ProtectMyCar was wonderful. It was a walk in the park and I had no problems at all. Everything was exactly as the agent had told me it would be. I got my services done in the same day and everything was taken care of. I didn’t have to go in and go back or wait. The only thing I had to do was pay my deductible which was low enough.
I’d recommend ProtectMyCar to anybody and I have. They are affordable and honest. The affordability is great but being able to have a credible and efficient company and who I can trust to take care of me is very important. When I didn’t understand something, I called them to make sure of what I needed to do to file a claim and they walked me right through it without any problem. They explained that all they required was that it has to be a 30-day wait and that I would take the car in, someone would verify what the problem is, and go from there. And that was done so I was very much happy with it. ProtectMyCar stood by what it said it would do.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect my Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

The claim process was pretty easy. In the beginning, I got upset with ProtectMyCar. It covers engine, transmission, suspension system and all that. Then, my truck started a sign coming out saying service suspension system. So I took it into the dealer and they told me it was the lower right compressor, which is the suspension. But they got a hold of ProtectMyCar and they said that that was one of the things they didn’t cover. So I asked them what they meant because it’s the suspension and they said it wasn’t something they would cover.
I didn’t understand why and I felt like they were turning their back on me after I was already with them for about a year and a half. I still got three and a half years to go and I felt like canceling but it is something they should have explained to me. I didn’t know that it wouldn’t cover the lower right compressor. And that's one of the main things on the suspension. But making payments was great. Also, I've used their other perks when my alternator went out and they covered that. Then, they gave me some other options for the other things they gave me. It's pretty good overall.
Any customer should really find out what it covers and what it doesn’t so they don’t have to get upset because it didn’t cover some things. You can’t think of everything it’s gonna cover or not but it’s always good to be out in the open. My first thought was to cancel this because they tuned their back on me but then some lady started explaining to me. She also did not cost my deductible any time I go. I don’t have to pay the deductible and then she gave me four oil changes free, so everything’s good. I'm pretty comfortable with it. ProtectMyCar is great and it sets your mind at ease that you have it.

No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.

I go to the same place that I get my car fixed then they put in the claim for me. My experience has been great. I've saved a lot of money from having ProtectMyCar so it’s a big help for me, especially being I don’t make the most money. My experience has been great and I’m very happy that I found them.

I had a factory warranty for my car and it ran out. Protect My Car told me about how much money they can save me. They started with one of their reps assessing me and asking questions like what kind of miles I got. They take all the payments from my card. However, when it came down to the reality when I need the company, they started backing up. They tell you a lot of things on the phone, but they don't tell you what they don’t cover until they get wired up in your money. I had taken my car to the shop and they’re telling me they don’t cover the part, but they still can take my money out of my pocket. It’s a game they play.
I submitted a claim for a water pump and a controller bar that were loose. They covered the water pump, but they didn’t take care of the controller bar. I couldn’t argue the point with them. Protect My Car sent the water pump to the car dealer because they could get it cheaper. The car dealer had my car for two days but Protect My Car didn’t cover for one day and I had to pay for that extra day because the car dealer didn’t get the shipment out until later. I had taken it to the car dealer on a Wednesday and they said the part will be in there Thursday, so they got the car for Thursday and Friday. Then one time I had a windshield wiper motor went out on my car, Protect My Car said they also don’t cover that. I’m very dissatisfied with the company.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you were not satisfied with the coverage. Please remember, the purpose of the policy is to pay the cost of covered repairs less the deductible. No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as your policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage. Again, thank you for your comments.

ProtectMyCar called me a long time ago and offered the protection and I thought it was a good idea to have it. However, the last claim I submitted for the exhaust manifold was rejected because it was not covered. The mechanic called them and told me that it was not covered. They did tell me that I can go ahead and call them if I wanted but decided not to because I didn't want to push the issue. Making payments was easy and they were taking it out of my bank. It's also affordable and it went over three years. I used the roadside assistance twice. They said that they had to set me up on the first time I called and asked me a bunch of questions then I waited about two hours. Then I called again and they said they didn't have a request of me calling and she wanted to do it all over again so I said that I already did this and gave all the information to someone. I told the person that I'm just going to call AAA because I had a flat tire.
The last time I called was about two months ago and they didn't ask anything. They just sent a person and said it was going to take 45 minutes, but it didn't take 45 minutes. It took less than, maybe 20. So far, it has been good. I was skeptic in the beginning when I signed up. But it's been good and I'm glad I have it because I've used it only once so far. I'm not sure if I'm going to need to use them again in the future but I see that my car's oil pressure is low at times so I don't know what's going on with it. But it is a good thing to have and I would recommend it to people.

A solenoid in the engine needed to be exchanged and it took a lot of labor to do it which cost about $900, and the solenoid’s only about $100. It's not right that they denied the claim because the solenoid is part of the engine. We were stuck in Portland, Oregon and I had to pay cash and get it over with. I cancelled ProtectMyCar immediately. I keep paying and when I need them, they’re no good. I've filed other insurance and everything’s covered - better coverage and less cost, too. I don't need ProtectMyCar, it's a scam and it's a terrible service.

I claimed with Protect My Car through the repair shop I went to but they didn’t put the original part in my vehicle. Mine’s a GM and it was cheaper for them to pay for another part than an original GM. I don’t care much about that. Then they called me to see if it was okay. At that time, I didn’t realize. I said, “Yes, sure” ‘cause I needed my vehicle. But I should have said, “No, I want an original in there.” The guy I talked to was rough. He didn’t want to pay more money for the part than what he had to approve it. When I first found out about the warranty and signed up for it, they never told me that there was a $100 deductible. Payment for this was set up automatically and comes out of my husband’s account every month. Overall, everything seems to be okay right now.

The issue with the cost of the parts was not the manufacturer of the part. The shop wanted to charge much more for the part as is customary. Our adjuster called you to let you know the part cost so that the shop would not try to make up the difference when you went in to pick up the vehicle. We are glad that the repair was done timely and correctly.

It only has $100 deductible and it still beats when you get surprised. Although it’s sometimes hard to get up, it’s convenient. I got my car fixed last year. I did an advertisement and I had already got quotes from someone else. I got quotes from Protect My Car too and I liked what they told me better. I love Protect My Car and I am happy with them. They’re personable, professional, and very responsive and helpful.I had some work done to my car. I called Protect My Car to see if they covered what I was needing. The rep told me they do. He asked what was all to be covered and I don’t know what, so he prompted me to get in touch with the dealership to find out what exactly I needed.
The dealership did the diagnostics and told me, “Let me work with them because I know the terminology to tell them. They can say yes or no. I’ll tell them what’s wrong and then they can tell me what they cover.” So, I gave all the information to the dealership. The dealership called Protect My Car and they worked it out. Then the dealership called me back and told me what they could do and not do and I cover the difference. This claim process took less than two days.
Payments for the extended warranty I got are affordable too. I also love the idea that Protect My Car does work with you. When I stopped all my draft, I call in. Sometimes I forget to call, but they do my draft. Also, if I got behind on a payment, they call to let me know that I am and what I can do to keep it in force. They have worked with me very well and I’ve been very pleased with their service.
Protect My Car was always there when I needed them. I’m always leery about companies out there that are trying to sell you a warranty. You get a warranty from them but then you’re leery because it’s going to be a risk type situation or there’s going to be some stipulations where you can’t get some claims from them for a problem. But Protect My Car told me what they do and don’t cover. The only thing I would love to find out from them is if they cover things that may happen to my car because of its age. If they know the age of my car, they can suggest what it needs.

We took the liberty of forwarding your comments to our various departments to remind them how important the work we do is to our policyholders. You made their day.

Protect My Car's agent contacted me and we talked. The quote I got was less than the one I had been paying before. Paying for the extended auto warranty was so easy. I did it over the phone, used my credit card and set up automatic payment. Submitting a claim was also easy. I go to where I need to get the car fixed and tell them what needs fixing. I let them know that I have a service plan in place. I give them the contact number for that and then the shop calls them and everything’s done. However, when I first got the warranty, whenever I thought something was wrong with the car I would always call their agents. But, they never said, “No, don’t call us. Go to the shop.” They would say, “Okay. Well, let me look that up for you and see what your coverages are. So yes, here you are covered so this is what I recommend.” And then, we’d go from there. So after I figured it out, I just go directly to the shop and they’ll make contact. It’s been great.
I have used their 24/7 road assistance once when I had my battery running down. I picked up the phone and called them and they said, “Okay, we have somebody in the area. He’ll be there in 20 minutes.” That’s usually now how it goes but in about 18 minutes, the tech showed up and gave me a jump. They’re very good, really easy and they get the job done.

I hate ProtectMyCar. I bought three contracts but they didn't tell us upfront how it worked. When I used it for my Audi, they finally explained that I would pay upfront before I get the services done. Everything that the guy explained to us before was not what was in the book. He even switched my plan for the 2010 Terrain and my son's 2005 vehicle. He stayed on the phone with me for more than an hour explaining everything, but the plan that he sold me on my Terrain was the one that I was expecting that he had given my son.
He had told me I could call him any time when I have questions but when I called back about my concern and I tried to speak to him again, they told me I was not allowed to speak directly to him. He's one of the head reps. I cancelled my contract in January but they continued to take my money out of my account. I had my bank to go back and get the last two payments and so, I'm in a dispute right now. My husband still has his contract and he's not satisfied with it, too.

The reason that you were billed after you had cancelled the policy was simply because your husband called us after you had cancelled the policy and reactivated the policy.
The policy saved you $2,600 in repair costs on the five claims you filed. Compared with only $600 in premiums paid, you certainly should realize how valuable the policy was to you.
We appreciate your comments.

I'd leave the claim with him then he would submit the paperwork for that particular issue that day. The customer service was also real friendly. They'd tell me whatever they have in mind and take care of me. I struggled for a little while, so I quoted another job then they worked with me and lowered my payments. That extended my time to pay off but it's all good. ProtectMyCar has been excellent and the best choice I've made so far in my life. Keep up the good work.

I was trying extend my Ford warranty when ProtectMyCar tricked me into getting their warranty over the phone. I then submitted a claim to them, because my truck is not starting. During that I time, I have had to use a rental car. I have prepaid for it, and ProtectMyCar told me that it would be free. However, it was not, and have to pay it out of pocket, which is disappointing and misleading. I was basically paying them for the things I thought that they are covering, but are actually not. I even had to disconnect my stereo which I paid all these thousands of dollars for from my car. I hate that I got off my Ford warranty and I hate that all these warranty people trick you into taking over their warranty and get out of the warranty that you have that was a good warranty. Now, I learned to pay attention to things. I just stay on in case if my motor or the transmission goes out. After I'm done paying that, I will look for a better warranty.

No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. I always look out for the future. In case I accidentally run into a problem, I'll know who to talk to. I perused my computer, read about the companies and saw what they got to say. I went ahead and tried Protect My Car because they were like what I had before, but they seemed to be more simplistic in providing their service. My experience in submitting a claim was marvelous. I called up my service technician and I verified the fact that they recognized Protect My Car. They said they did and when I asked what I needed to do, I was told to bring my car in and they will check it and do what needs to be done to make sure it's safe. That was the last I heard from them until I got a call and was told to come and get my car.
I had a problem originally, though, way back in '04 and '05. I wanted to renew the thing but I was moving temporarily to Virginia so I didn't bother with it. When I came back to Fort Worth, I called my wife and she tried calling up Protect My Car. They told her exactly what would happen and what had to be done. She handled all that paperwork herself, which I was rather impressed with because she's not a mechanic. She didn't realize different things that she had to ask but they explained those things to her very thoroughly and it made the deal very simplistic. The warranty covered the items that we needed to have done and so we're really happy with it.
There was also one time when I brought the car in and they found that the engine mounts had deteriorated and they had to replace them. I would never have thought of that in a million years. The agent spotted that and the just jumped on it and replaced the mount. I was telling my son about it and he asked who it was. I told him and said that I can get him the paperwork. He said he knew what I was talking about and that he'll call them. He was impressed with the way they did for my car. I extended my warranty with Protect My Car this year and I'll try it again next year because so far, it's been very nice. It was too convenient and everything was handled nicely.

However, I wish it was a little easier to fax something to them. The fax number they have there at USCG is continually busy, and there have been a couple of times when I wasn't able to fax anything. I have used the rental car assistance and I'm waiting on the reimbursement, which I had to email in because I couldn't get it through the fax. Also, when I had my car in the shop, I tried to fax them some maintenance records but wasn't able to do that, so I had to get the shop to do it and evidently they were able to at some point.
Other than that, dealing with everybody there has been pretty easy. Protect My Car called me up and though I hardly ever pay attention to cold callers, I decided to do it because I didn’t have an extended warranty with Ford. I started paying them a large amount and had done that for about two years. Then there came a time when things were really hard for me financially and I told them that I was gonna have to drop it. They’ve worked with me on the premium and got it down to what I thought I could handle.
We have used the rental car benefit but I wasn’t satisfied with that part of the policy. I took the car to the dealer and needed a car. They didn’t give me one until Protect My Car agreed to pay for the repairs and I did not like that. I had to have a new motor and it took more than seven days for them to order after they decided they were gonna pay for it. I was very glad that they did but it took them three weeks to decide on that. And I paid for the car for three weeks but they only paid for seven days. I also had to get another car because Ford still wasn’t finished with my car. They ended up paying $150 while I ended up paying $400.
I was satisfied with how they helped me with the car though. They paid for the repair. It would’ve dragged me under so I’m glad I had some type of insurance with Protect My Car. However, the mileage was about 129,000 when the car was fixed and the policy states that they won’t pay for anything past 135 but they still took the payment out of my account. There was nothing that we did to make the motor go out. We had taken care of it and what we had would prove it. I'll talk to them about that because why am I giving them money if they're no longer covering me at all.

You are actually covered on this policy until you reach 133,400 miles. When that happens please cal us so that we can assist in keeping your vehicle protected with another policy at a great rate.
Thank you very much for being a long term policyholder.

Protect My Car is affordable. I used Protect My Car once for my car repair and it was okay. My daughter also was on that and I have her car in my name. She had the major repair down on her Honda but it was pretty much a headache to get everything finalized and done. The claims representative mostly dealt with the dealership but I talked to them a couple of times to get everything rolling. They took too much time to get everything situated with the claim. The Honda dealership made sure she got a rental but it went through quite a bit before she got that. Protect My Car also didn't really pay much on it when it was all set and done and I wasn't pleased with how that turned out on their end.

Our Ambassador series of policies was created specifically for vehicle owners whose vehicles do not qualify for standard extended breakdown coverage, either because of excessive age or miles, or because of pre-existing conditions. The Ambassador family of policies is less expensive than a standard extended warranty and therefore appeal to those on a limited budget.
Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes, free tire rotations and a significant reduction in repair costs, guaranteed 25% reduction of the original estimate of repair costs. They also come with towing, 24 /7 roadside assistance and rental car benefits.

It would be good if the people working at ProtectMyCar know what they're talking about since the current staff just didn’t seem like they had any clue what parts were on a car. Submitting a claim with ProtectMyCar has been a hard and cumbersome process. They're trying to tell me the four-wheel drive part wasn’t covered despite it being clearly in the document. I had to print the document out, highlight the said part, and email it back to the guy to tell him which part I'm talking about. I also had to do lots of phone calls back and forth with the mechanic shop, where it is hard to get somebody that actually spoke English. The situation ended with them denying my claim. When I finally got a hold of someone who I can understand, I told him my situation and he answered “Yes, that was a covered part.” They did the repairs and the mechanic did a wonderful job.
Because my experience was so bad, the manager called me and they gave me free oil changes. It’s good, but every time I avail the service, the whole mechanic shop has to go through this whole big song and dance where they say, “No, we don’t have that.” I then have to resubmit documents and then get a hold of somebody else. So, even the free little perks they gave me is aggravating. Also, it’s either an excuse or something is also wrong with their computer system, but every time you try to do something, they always tell you that, “Oh, we're having computer issues.” It's like starting over every time you call them.

When the truck's engine needed to be replaced, it took a long time and the engine was replaced with a used engine, shipped from Florida, rather than letting Dodge get us one. The heads were attached on the engine that ProtectMyCar shipped out so you would take that as one thing. They didn't even think to look at it because they have engines without heads. When we had problems with the head, Dodge contacted ProtectMyCar who said it wasn't covered. We got the same response whenever I contacted them. That was another $1,200 plus all of the headaches.
Also, my son is trying to do his own business and he procrastinates on some things. When he rented a car for work, it was only for a week but then ProtectMyCar knew that the truck wasn't done. The rental place was right there with the car dealership so he thought everybody was communicating. When he went in to the rental place, he told them he still didn't have his truck back, and he didn't think that he needed a new contract. He had the rental car for two months and then corporate office filed a report. They sent out a repo guy first to the house who said if they didn't get the rental back, it was gonna be reported as stolen and Paul would be stopped and arrested.
It's supposed to be a seven day car rental reimbursement but it should have been at least two weeks for the time delay in taking three days before ProtectMyCar got someone out here to inspect it and then shipping out an engine. They said that was Dodge's fault, although Dodge said the same thing. I know people have called the warranty place and it's hard sometimes to get back to them. I've been meaning to follow up but it's very frustrating. My son hasn't given me the bill yet for the car rental to send that in for reimbursement. I need to do that for at least the seven days and explain that it should be at least half of it, but I'm sure ProtectMyCar won't approve.

We do reimburse rental car costs on repairs. For liability and insurance purposes, though, we do not rent the vehicle. It is the individuals responsibility to adhere to the rental agreement. If you will provide the paid receipt for the rental car costs, we will reimburse the rental car expenses to the extent allowed under the policy.
Again, thank you for your comments.

I liked the way the man had presented Protect My Car over the TV. They tell you how to protect your car and go through different things we need to do and have the car fixed. Submitting a claim has been sensational, too. They get right on it. I just call them and tell them what's wrong with the car. If I have to take it in, they would tell me I can take it to any mechanic that I want to or to one that they prefer. So, I take it where I want to and have no problems. However, they say that when you join, you only have to pay the first $100 deductible, but they charge you a little more than that. I had to have the water pump replaced and it cost about $900 but I ended up paying about $300 instead of $100. Nevertheless, I did get the thing done when I needed it done. I'm satisfied and would recommend them to a friend.

I have had a ProtectMyCar.com warranty on my car four years ago. Something happened to my car and it was covered. The next time I had to use the warranty again, I had called in because the garage said they didn't know it would be covered. I called in and the guy I spoke to said, "Oh, that's not covered." But I was told everything was covered from bumper-to-bumper but he said, "But that part is not." So I had to pay out of my pocket. Everything that I tried to get fixed wasn't covered.
The next thing I had to call in was for some kind of switch in the dashboard. But it was a thousand dollars to take the car apart, which I didn't have, to find out if the part was covered or not. If that part was covered, it'll be okay but if not, it wouldn't be covered. I decided to not to get it fixed. But then the car behind mine was hit and pushed it in the trunk of my car, which totaled my car. I had to go buy a new car.

So you will know, we never tell anyone that any policy is "Bumper to Bumper". There is no such thing in this industry. Wear and tear items, and maitenance items are almost always excluded, as are catalytic converters, such as you had to replace.

When I have to submit a claim, I give the ProtectMyCar paper to my mechanic and he calls them up and the claim is worked between the two of them. My payments are handled easily and it's been about average cost-wise. ProtectMyCar is very on the ball and they do what they are supposed to do. I get the problem diagnosed and then Protect My Car gets called. They ask some questions about the car and they get back with an answer. It usually doesn't take too long and I've been pretty happy with the length of time that they get back to you on. I'm not sure how they carry out some of their policies as far as checking for the car history but they seem to get it done fairly quickly. Also, I was not aware that they only replace the car with after market parts so, I don't get a dealer part. Like I have a Chevy and they don't give me a GM part. But they're not giving me bad parts. They replace with good parts by an ACDelco.

We do use after market parts when there is no other realistic choice, but still warrant those parts for 12 months or twelve thousand miles.

Protect My Car fit my budget better than any other auto warranty provider. Submitting a claim with them wasn't difficult because I gave the information to my Mercedes-Benz dealer and they contacted Protect My Car as they better understand what they don't cover than I do. A claim was rejected once, but overall, whenever I submitted a claim, they've taken care of it. They also worked with me so well on my payment. Even when I was unemployed, they worked with me to rearrange my payment date. If I was late, they would give me a call and work with me on bringing my payment current. They didn't automatically cancel me, and I'm still appreciative of that. I went with ProtectMyCar because they cover a MINI. They're expensive but they're warrantying older, used cars with miles on them. My MINI was in the shop. I only had it for 16 months, and I was only able to drive it for three. That was the world's worst piece of junk. When it runs, it is so much fun to drive. But people should not do it unless they're gonna buy one new and they're only gonna keep it as long as the warranty is in existence.
I also sold my Porsche 911 SC which I had for 32 years. I bought it brand new. I got a thousand dollars less than I paid for it originally. Then I bought this MINI, which I thought would be fun to play with but it was just one catastrophe after another. But ProtectMyCar was okay. They foot the bill for at least one of those. I also had the payments as an auto debit thing from my credit card so it was painless. But the real problem is, it’s not them. It’s the mechanics. The mechanics don't want to deal with them. It's so much easier for the mechanics when people drop off the car, they fix the car and then they give you a bill.
ProtectMyCar is not only a warranty company, but they also make the mechanics accountable. And what happens with ProtectMyCar is that they have to then do the estimate, give it to them to review and possibly come out and inspect. So the repairs take three times as long to complete because they're waiting for approval. If they're just gonna approve it on the phone, that's one thing. If they're gonna send someone out to inspect, it takes several days for them to get out. And getting the mechanics to cooperate with that process is a process. And he had to put stuff in writing. And mechanics don't like doing all of that when people have an older car.
When I submitted a claim, my mechanic did it. But in getting him to do it, the car sat for months until he got around to it because it's a process. It's a lot of extra work for him. And there was a claim they didn't even get put in. They put in the wrong spark plugs and it melted the valve cover and then tried to convince me that I bought and gave them the wrong spark plugs to put in. I said, "I did do that. I bought the spark plugs and gave them to you. And then you told me that they were the wrong ones and gave them back. And you put in the wrong spark plugs." $1300 worth of repairs on that ticket.
I couldn't get the car back and drive it for a whole week before the check engine light would come back on ever. The dealer used silicon around the head to keep it from leaking. By the time I drove it home and then drove it around the next weekend that melted away and the head was leaking all over the place, so I needed a new valve cover or a new top end. That's the part that company paid for. I paid the deductible and they paid the rest. But it was just one nightmare after another. But ProtectMyCar was wonderful and they didn't deny any of my claims. I would probably recommend ProtectMyCar.

Our goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide that.
We were especially glad we were able to help you with the issues the repair shop put you through.

I called three or four auto warranty providers and ProtectMyCar was the cheapest option to go with. I had a little bit of trouble from the beginning. When we were talking in the beginning, I offered to take my car to somewhere that I could get it checked out to make sure it qualified for all aspects of what I was getting. They said I’d have to have a factory stock and so I haven’t done anything to it. I bought it off of a Ford dealership and when the transmission went, they caused a bunch of havoc. What made me mad about that is, I understand there are rules but they don’t even cover that. That doesn’t affect the way the motor runs and it doesn’t affect anything about the car other than it gets a little bit more air into it.
If I would wanna go get rims and tires or if I wanted to be able to put another grill in, I couldn’t do those because it’s gotta be all factory stock. I was wondering why they are talking to me about cosmetics stuff when they are there to fix my motor and transmission if it goes wrong, not fixing my grill and my tires if something goes wrong. The only thing that I had against them was that they put a lot of rules on everything and I understand where they’re going with it, but I was thinking they were saying factory stock on the stuff they cover. I would agree with that but they made it to where that the person can’t even do anything to their car because of the fact that they don’t wanna go or can’t fill out the warranty that they have.
Another problem was that it took forever and I had to get a rental car. Town & Country Ford had my transmission out and done in like a day. They said the transmission’s gone and the guy said they’re gonna leave it out because as soon as the other part gets there, they can go ahead and dump it right in. They said it was Thursday when they finally approved it and they were gonna order it that day. They were gonna get it on Friday morning or afternoon and they’d either have it done Friday evening or Saturday morning because they wanted to go research.
ProtectMyCar found the part and I don’t even know if it’s an actual Ford transmission in my car right now because I don’t know where it came from. They bought it and sent it to Town & Country for them to put it in. I don’t know if it was a brand new transmission like it’s supposed to be or not and if it was used and neither did Town & Country. I think that if they're gonna be a warranty company, let the shop get the part that way the person knows exactly where it came from and that it’s brand new. It took like a week longer and it ended up that the $200 that they saved on the transmission was spent on the rental car for me. If you only shed $200, you spent more than what you saved because it’s $50 a day.
Certain people are helpful and other people are by the book and only by the book. I’m not trying to be mean but no company can be like that. There are no absolutes in any company. They’re more of guidelines and I understand about the factory stock but in my eyes, if they don’t cover that item, that’s like me telling them they can’t do this to their house because they got their insurance through me. But they still owe me but they can’t update their windows because it’s gotta be original windows that were in there at the beginning of the time. That sounds ludicrous and ridiculous to me. But if I’m thinking about switching my engine out to a bigger engine, I can understand that. I can’t do that because at the end they’re gonna end up having to pay for it if it goes out.

Most people do not modify their vehicles. Their coverage, like the policy you have, is best suited for thier situation. Despite what you may believe or have heard, drilling holes to let more air in, over-sized tires and rims, and other such modifications, do affect engine and transmission performance. These modifications can lead to more frequent and costlier repairs.
Many people, as you apparaently do, have or intend to modify their vehicles. We have developed policies for just those vehicles that not only help with repair costs but maintenance costs as well. The reason we ask about modifications is to make sure we can offer the right coverage for you and your vehicle.
Do not hesitate to modify your vehicle. Just know that with your current policy, not all repairs will be covered as a result of the modifications. Now that we know about the modifications you have made and plan to make, we can explain coverage that may be better suited to your needs than the policy you have now. We will be in touch to discuss these options.

I was already over a hundred thousand miles on my BMW and the warranty that I had on there has expired but the people that I had didn’t want to renew. So I was calling around and I was happy to find Protect My Car. Making payments for the extended auto warranty wasn’t difficult at all. Sometimes, I get behind but I pay my bills with them because I need them. When I told BMW to have my car fixed, they had to go inside the engine to see what was wrong with it. Protect My Car said they were going to approve them.
I wanted to challenge BMW and take it to an auto shop where if there were sludge in there, then I would have been able to take care of it. It took me about a week to get it into European Auto and I found out that there was the eccentric shaft. Protect My Car said they will pay for it. But they gave me the runaround about that saying that I was abusing my car when I got all paper works to show that I took great care of that car. So once they have seen all the paperwork that I got from Kelly BMW and European Auto, they went ahead and approved my claim. Also, I didn't know that I had Roadside Assistance. The shop had my car for about a week. I would have got a rental car.
Right now, I’m having issues with the car and I have to take it back to the place that fixed it. I’m doing everything to keep the car running but then I can’t get the mechanic to say he knows how to fix this car to get it right. So it’s on them now and if they don’t fix it, then I’m going to take it to Kelly BMW and the small shop is going to have to pay Kelly BMW. I needed to get it fixed. It’s a very nice car and I like it.
It’s hard to get a warranty company that takes care of their business. Even though Protect My Car gave me a runaround, I would still suggest them to my friends instead of them going somewhere where somebody might juice them out of their money. Now I know that they would give me the runaround but will cover what they’re supposed to cover.

Far frpm being a runaround, we are commited to making sure that your repairs are done correctly and completely the first time. Nothing is more disappointing than having to go back to the repair shop because a repair was not done right the first time.

ProtectMyCar literally asks the company that I go with if I really needed the oil change and I’m using a synthetic one. The guy there says that I do and that’s what he’s putting in the car. The second time I heard that was at Firestone. I called them on a Monday and talked to a manager. He explained that the reason why they ask was that people who get these free oil changes have it done early at 2,500 mileage. Then when they are finished using it, they're out. I told him that they could always tell no and that it has to be a certain mileage before doing it. I’m always between 5000 and 5,500, which is the requirement for that.
I didn’t like the fact that I was challenged on the oil change part. It’s got to be on a case-by-case basis and they need to look at that a little bit clearer. Then a lot of stuff that falls under wear and tear that was more internal stuff weren’t covered. Unfortunately, they don’t do any EVAP type of stuff. I’ve babied the truck so I haven’t had any problems with it and bought this as based on the mileage. It’s just a preventative maintenance factor and I may never use it, but I bought it to buy it.
I had a claim about the alternator and they tried to nickel and dime me on that. They covered everything but they weren’t going to cover tax. There was some part of the alternator, which is part of the assembly and they weren’t going to cover that too as well as the fluids. The dealership thought that was really weird because it’s all together so I had to call in and complain. I talked to the guy and said that no one ever told me that they weren’t going to cover tax as I wouldn’t have gotten the warranty service had that been the case. He apologized then he stepped up and took care of everything. Right now, they’ve been accommodating. I’m going to be worried when it comes to repair as I always hear the stories, “Well, we’re just going to deny that.” I hope it doesn’t come to that. But they claim to uphold their end and I’m knocking on wood that I won’t have a problem. But I’m holding my breath if I do.

Some states actually require the policyholder to pay the tax on repairs, others do not. Again, please do not take it as our trying to get out of anything. We have to follow the law as does any one else. We are certainly glad that the policy has saved you far more than you have paid in premiums to date. That should tell you how good your decision was to protect yourself with this coverage.

I needed a warranty for my car I had gotten from Clay Cooley. I saw a commercial on TV talking about Protect My Car and the person was talking about the warranty. I went with them and when my inspection sticker was out and the inspection failed, I was told to take my code to Protect My Car. Somehow, it was something underneath the manifold that kept the code on the car and they weren't able to pass it. I took it in and it was fixed.
It was the first time I made a claim and I had gotten online a couple of times to send a message to Protect My Car. I didn't know the process that it went through. I thought I was just typing in what I needed to say and then they would take that and put it on the list of things that a person needs to get fixed. But Protect My Car is totally different.
When I first bought the car, I kept hearing it click when I turned the signal light on. Eventually, eight months after, the signal light did not cut off automatically once I turned the corner. Right before I turned it into them, I had gotten online and told I Protect My Car I needed my signal light fixed. The signal light is part of the warranty because it's in the steering column. But fixing it didn't happen. I found out that they charge you $100 for taking it in and getting more than one thing fixed. I was really disappointed because the signal light did not get fixed and I had to take it back in. I'm working two jobs so it made it so difficult and I was frustrated.
Also, I waited in for maybe two and a half hours. I didn't know they had a four hour waiting period. If fixing the job would take more than four hours, then they would get you a rental car. I was there from early that morning. I didn't know they open at 10:00 but I got there at 8:00. It was almost 12:00 before they came and got the car. They didn't take that long after that, but I was frustrated. I was sitting in there that long not knowing. If it would have been on a Friday or any other day of the week, I would have gotten it done earlier. But because of my job, I was only able to go in on Saturday morning.
Otherwise, I've been quite satisfied with Protect My Car and my experiences with them have been pretty consistent. I just wish that I know the time frame of getting something fixed. When you take your car into the manufacturer or whenever you take it to get it fixed, you have to realize and understand, it's not gonna be extremely fast to get in unless you get in real early.
I also used their 24 hours road assistance. My battery had died on me and I was just sitting in the parking lot. My engine and my switch weren't turned on, but I could turn the auxiliary and have the radio on. That's all I was doing. And all of a sudden, I hear this click and my key was stuck in the ignition. This happened one month and it happened again the following month. Protect My Car was very quick on getting out there to assist me. They took care of the problem so I was very impressed with that.
Making payment for purchasing the extended warranty was also very easy. They worked real good with me. When I told the gentleman who kept explaining to me that right now, it would be very difficult for me to afford the warranty, he was able to work with me on the price and I was very appreciative. The warranty came in handy and I still have it to this day. Overall, I'd recommend Protect My Car.

We cover the components that are most likely to break down and for the most part are the most costly to repair.
As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.
Again, thank you for your comments.

I compared different auto warranty companies after I purchased my vehicle. I requested a quote from different companies, received a couple of calls, spoke to a couple of representatives and decided to go with ProtectMyCar based on the coverages that they offered, the terms and the pricing as well. Submitting claims was mixed thinking some things are gonna be covered and it’s not. It seems like there's a lack of a lot of clarity between ProtectMyCar and the company that actually administers their warranty service, USCG. I had to go back and forth with them on a couple of things but the experience with ProtectMyCar is okay.
The experience with USCG was not the greatest and I had to try to be accommodated and try to fix the issue. A lot of this was regarding language in the contract and what they’re telling me they can do. I was looking at my contract and it doesn’t say in this contract that I have but they kept telling me that I had to call ProtectMyCar because they can’t do something when I tell them that what they're telling me is not in my contract so I shouldn’t be held for that. I’m in real estate so I understand contracts. If there’s something in my contract and I’m asking you to fulfill what’s in my contract, you can’t tell me that because you have a different version of the contract. That’s not my issue.
I called last month to try and cancel my membership or my subscription. I spoke to the representative at ProtectMyCar and they were really nice and good. The customer service is awesome and they’re very understanding. So it’s like a disconnect between the servicer and ProtectMyCar. But the process of submitting was relatively easy. My mechanic did it. The only thing was the procedure. They can only cover the time when the car has been worked on and they want the mechanic to call when they’ve already done the breakdown. My mechanic never had a complaint and when I called to follow up, they had no record to be able to follow and even though I was talking to a different representative, they were able to get up to speed.
The reps that I spoke to over there are always very nice, respectful, courteous, helpful and communicate very well. I even emailed one of the representative to try to help me coordinate a repair something with a dealership. The representatives on the customer service side are very good and knowledgeable, they understand the product and the tone is very respectful. I’ve never had a problem with them on the policy side but the other side with USCG was not the greatest. Also, making payments was easy. Mine is on auto pay, so it comes out of my designated account whenever the date is. Mine is $99 a month and right now, I'm breaking even given the amount of payments that I’ve made, how long I’ve had the policy and what I’ve had the claim cover. It could be less and better but I have a five-year policy. It might be more expensive for a lot of people but I think $99 is doable for me.
Also, the reimbursement with rental car was fine. The only issue was the dispute between what they were gonna cover which I understood. If the car’s gonna be physically worked on for two days and you got a rental car for eight days, you can’t expect them to cover eight days and I understood that policy which is fine. It’s different from the insurance so, if you’re in a vehicle accident, whether your car’s been worked on or not, they cover that whole time you need a rental car. With this, it’s the physical time. If it’s a day or two that they’re working on your car, regardless of how long you have it, that’s how they cover.
Sometimes that’s a little tricky because your car could be there, they’re working on it and maybe they’re waiting for something so it’s taking a little longer. They can only cover a certain number of days and the whole time you’re paying for a rental car. There should be more clarity on that aspect of it and that was an area that I had to go back and forth with the USCG reps and we found a middle ground. The overall experience is okay. As a consumer, you have to decide if at what point is this still beneficial to you to have an auto warranty policy. If it cannot cover your needs, then maybe you need to cancel but overall the experience was decent.

United Service Contract Group does handle all claims on repairs. They have the knowledge and expertise to get things done right the first time when it comes to repairs and claims.
We here at Protect my Car handle the policy coverage, benefits, premiums and policy related matters. Thats why the guys at USCG could not help you with the policy issues and instead got you to someone who could help. We apologize for any confusion but in the long run it saves time and makes sure your questions and requests are handled by the right person in the best and quickest manner possible.
Thanks very much for continuing to be a valued policyholder.

Word of mouth is the best form of advertisement and a friend, who is covered by Protect My Car, gave great reviews. The price quote was within my budget as well and that played a major role in my decision to go with them. Payments are very easy. They do a direct withdrawal out of my account every month. And they are very understanding. One month when my mom died, I called and told them I can't pay it that month. They asked when I can pay it and they waited. It was two weeks later, I gave them a date and that's when they made the electronic transfer from my account.
Last year, it was Memorial Day weekend and I was at a store when my alternator went out on me. I called, told them what the problem was. They asked if I knew where I want to have my car repaired. I said yes. "Do you need us to have your car towed there?" "Yeah.” “When do you want us to do that?” “Tomorrow." "What time?" "11:00." The tow truck was here at 10 minutes to 11:00 and towed my car. I gave the repair shop the Protect My Car card that I've received in the mail, and that was my claim, the phone call. It couldn't have been easier.
The shop called and told me to get my car and bring $100. They gave me the bill and it came to $700 and some but I only paid my deductible which was $100. Being a retired senior citizen on a fixed income, that was spectacular for me. That was well within my budget. I would not have been able to get my car had I have to pay the whole amount.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect my Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

The sales person was more knowledgeable and the sales pitch was good enough for me. I felt it was the better benefit than anything else I had heard or researched so that was the main reason why I went with Protect My Car. In submitting a claim, everything was smooth. I took it to the dealership, they submitted it, they told me I had to pay my deductible and everything was taken care of. They deducted the payment out of my bank account. I had to rent a car on one occasion and I submitted the paperwork for the car rental and they reimbursed me with a check. I'm happy and satisfied with them. I would recommend them. I have already given their number to somebody to get their vehicle covered.

I've been with Protect My Car awhile. Submitting a claim is easy because it goes through the dealer so I don't have to do anything. The dealer has the information already in the system. Making payments is also not hard. It comes out of my account and I just make sure the money is in there. Anybody that has an older car should have a warranty to cut that expense if something major happens, especially on a high-end car like a Mercedes. I recommend Protect My Car to anybody.

I chose Protect My Car because of the customer service that they provided since I'm strict with attitude and disposition. It was pleasing. That's how I make up choices on stuff. It depends on how the person talked to me over the phone. When I feel that I don't want to deal with them I hung up. I had an issue one time because I didn't know that my coverage only covered store parts. But that was good for me that I had a bad experience. I took my car to the dealership. When you take it to Honda, Honda doesn't buy parts from the part stores. They only do strictly with the dealership. It costed me a lot of money. A hundred dollar right ahead, so I just came out of pocket and paid it. But other than that, I haven’t had any other problems. I'd recommend it to a friend.

Protect My Car had military discount so I went with them. I submitted a claim for a water pump replacement and my radiator. It was timely. I had to have somebody communicate with Protect My Car a few times, but other than that, it was fine. I've never had to use a warranty before this and it seemed like they were very adamant on making sure that it wasn’t the type of situation wherein I ruined my car for fun. It took a little longer than I would have thought, but it was okay.
The person I had working on my car was great. At first, I took it to a different mechanic who was really busy, so he had a hard time communicating with the Protect My Car people and I wasn't able to get my car fixed for about two weeks. Protect My Car had more to offer at a reasonable price and I needed it towards my mechanical breakdown or engine repair. Their insurance is good, I didn't have any complaints about it. I needed wheel bearing and they paid for it. I took it to the dealer because I had the insurance. Then took it in a repair facility that's reliable and reputable, no backyard mechanic. I honored the contract, the agreement. They're only going to cover certain parts and not the the whole engine regardless of how much money you paid for it. But they cover major things like oil gaskets. The unbelievable part of it was they even helped me to rent a car and that was really nice. They paid it in full but they wanted a deposit just like anything else. They're pretty good and I was satisfied.

Terrific comment. Short and to the point. Thank you very much for that. It is nice to know that when you do have a problem with your vehicle that with one phone call you can get towed in, activate rental car benefits and get fast, efficient claims service. He did some research, got back to me and gave me the best quote for what I wanted so I ended up going with them.
I've only filed one claim so far and I took the car to the Buick center where they handled all of that. However, there was one thing that was not covered at that time. Making payments for the warranty was easy and it's automatically withdrawn from my account once a month. Also, going through the claims process wasn't difficult with ProtectMyCar. However, I was not overall impressed but not disappointed when submitting a claim with them. There are a couple of things I felt that should have been covered. As far as what it cost to have it done versus some of the things that were covered, I didn't feel like it lined up with why ProtectMyCar didn't cover it. So I'd like to see more things that have a tendency to fail to be covered. It's been some months since I had the work done. But there was something on there that my mechanic said he felt like they should have been covered as well but they weren't.

Safety equipment, like emissions, are not addressed by the contract. Different states have different requirements for factory coverage. These repairs are left to the manufacture to address based on the applicable laws.
Still, we were happy that the remaining repairs, totaling over $1,800, were covered. That one repair saved you more than twice what your premiums have been over these many months. Not a bad deal at all.

I was shopping around for some extended warranty companies and ProtectMyCar called me and they had the lower price by about half of what all their competitors were charging. The payments for the auto warranty are automatically directed off of my checking account which is really easy. Also, submitting my claim was simple. It was all done with the dealer and I didn't have to do anything. However, a couple of bad things came up that surprised me. Their road assistance for towing is quite lacking. In Minnesota, they charge you $90 to hook up your vehicle and that's with no mileage. I live and work in a rural area so the closest garage that can do the work I need on my vehicle is 40 miles away. But ProtectMyCar only allotted 10 miles and the towing cost me money, which is about half of what it would normally cost with other services.
Also, when I had my transmission replaced, they put in a used transmission which failed after 800 miles. They then elected to put in another new transmission which immediately failed as well and I had to pay my towing charges to get it to the shop again. So, they cost me $80 in towing. They weren't gonna cover the oil too and were gonna make me pay my deductible again. I argued with them and they quickly said that that was a mistake on their part and they apologized. I'm on my fourth transmission and I'm dissatisfied that they're attempting to put in a used part to replace a part that’s known to go defective after a period of time. I used ProtectMyCar's rental car reimbursement which was also quite lacking. During the transmission change, it took two weeks of which they only covered six days. The dealership that I took my car to had a courtesy vehicle program, though. But overall, it was a cheap experience with ProtectMyCar.

Thank you again for being a policyholder and allowing us to assist you so much with your repairs.

Protect My Car has better prices and they offered a little bit more than some of the other auto warranty providers I checked. Protect My Car had a little bit more to offer than other auto warranty providers. However, it's hard to make payments when I call my payments in. Either it takes forever for them to answer or I'm hold for 5-10 minutes, sometimes 15 minutes. I just hang up and call at a later time. I also didn't use their towing assistance when my car broke down because the way they want it to work is I pay out of my pocket then they pay me back. That's inconvenient to me and I don't like it.
Also, submitting a claim with them was a little bit of a hassle. It was a little bit of a headache getting everything done. My mechanic talked to them and it took them two days to check the claim out and rejected it at first. They had to have somebody over twice and I didn’t have my car for almost a month. I was also told that they put new transmissions in but they put in used transmission. They told my mechanic what I'm allowed to spend. But once my car got fixed, everything turned out fine. They helped me out and were pretty convenient.

In hte future, though, please do not hesitate to call for a tow. We actually pay up to $100 per tow and your cost would only be for the towing charge in excess of that amount. We will reimburse you for an emergency tow but your having to pay first is not required to use the towing benefit.
Despite what your mechanic may have told you, we do not tell you what you are allowed to spend. We hope you will call us the next time you have a question of that nature so we can help you resolve it quickly and get you the correct information.

But when the transmission lines went out, I had to pay for that myself. The way I understood it, they would cover it, but I guess it didn't cover everything. When I took the warranty, I understood to the point that they would fix the vehicle. But when I got in the policy with them, it's like they'll go the cheapest routes possible. They don't try to put the things back to original new parts. They'll buy a used transmission instead of putting a new one. But other than that, the payments have been affordable for me, so I would recommend them but I'll let people know ahead of time how they work.

However, the A/C repair was a mechanical breakdown and we were very happy to have been able to save you hundreds of dollars on that repair.
Finally, we approve the use of OEM parts by repair shops and it is the shops that usually provide the parts. When necessary, we can locate locate parts if the shop is unable to do so, usually at a huge savings.
