When I first heard of Protect My Car, I was on 42nd Street and I happened to be going to a site where they were talking about Protect My Car on Hot 97. Somebody was giving an example of why she fell in love with using it but I thought it sounded too good to be true. I called Protect My Car and when I told the rep that I worked for a union, he started telling me about the perks that he could get me. I was in school and the discounts kept going down. He seemed to know his job and how to navigate through the system so that I could get the most possible perks for my money.
Protect My Car had more perks at the time and it was really affordable. It was $69 after all of my amenities. At the time, I was financing and the interest rate was high. I had an extended warranty and it was excessively expensive. And after paying $200 for another policy that didn't have anything of the same, I decided to get Protect My Car after my initial warranty went out. My car was an older vehicle and I decided to do this to protect me 'cause I love my car.
While I was going through the deal, I told him it was good. But then, when I got the initial package, some of the parts that I know that I was entitled to don't come in the Protect My Car. The only thing that came in there was the policy and the car itself. So now, I needed to find out how to go about finding out for the other stuff that I was entitled to.
The quality of the policy is really good and I don't have to wait as long as AAA. When I am on the phone with Protect My Car, I had to wait at the most five minutes for someone to come on. When I was working, my car broke down on the 30 and the warranty was pulling on a 50. It was a Saturday and I told the rep about it. They told me they would fetch me first thing on Monday.
I was completely in disarray because of where my car stopped. I was scared and I had my kids with me. When I called Protect My Car, they were very passionate and told me it was okay. All of that anxiety when I fell went right down to my big toe when I kicked it right off me so I was feeling good. The guy was able to find a contracting company to come out and grab my vehicle. They happened to be on the same block and right next door to the garage that housed the cars that they were working on. The fact that they took that time out showed me that not only this person liked his job, but he was in this job for all the right reasons to make sure to service the client. I felt loved and I felt like I called my cousin Pete and told him what I needed. The guy made it happen all by 5 o'clock.
I had a $1,000 worth of works done to my car and I only paid $293 in total. That's with the difference of the tow, which is auto-deductible and for the parts that weren't covered. It was great because it fell around the same time as my car payment. I had the chance to be able to do both and still be able to have lunch. Then, I asked the place where I got my vehicle done if they thought Protect My Car was pleasant. He spoke of all the experience as the mechanic working on the vehicle and getting the payment. Even that transition was seamless. I hear terrible conversations about the payment aspect with a third-party but it was a good experience that when my car went out, the service guy went and got me a new car key. Also, instead of me having to pay $300 on a car key, I only spent $125.

Thank you for those comments. That is exactly that we like to hear. In fact, giving our customers great peace of mind is our number one goal around here. Thank you very much for letting us know we are meeting that goal and thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

My warranty was up so I talked to Protect My Car and they gave me a price which I thought was okay and I went for it. Their rep was good. That was why I bought it. Every time I've talked to them, they have been very pleasant and they've explained things, and I really like that. I just didn't like the fact that they didn't cover a particular item and it was in my warranty that they did. So, I was upset that I had to pay for it. Other than that, they covered everything.
While my car was in the shop the first time, they covered two days. The second time, they didn't cover enough because they had to send two parts. I made a deposit and they ended up taking the whole deposit and an additional money to Enterprise because they said that Protect My Car only covered two days. Now, I've had it five days. I had to wait until everything was done. But other than that, I've been very satisfied with them. I even recommended them to people.
I've been with Protect My Car a year or so. Their customer service rep has been fine. In fact, I called them and I had my dealer called them about what was wrong. They called me back to explain to me what they were doing, which was good. The monthly cost is good too. I feel comfortable that if something happens I can call them. I keep my book here so that if something happens, I could check the book first for the coverage, which is all spelled out in the book usually.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. We appreciate that very much. We are very pleased to have helped you with the recent repair and glad we saved you so much money. That’s what a good policy is supposed to do. We look forward to helping you in the future when you need help. Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

I had Protect My Car once before and they were really good with me, and then I had to cancel, but I came back to it. The rep that I dealt with was right down to it. He kinda knew me once he punched me into the system. The warranty is on my son's car and when he took it to the dealership for its air conditioner, they called it in, and everything worked out fine.

I was told that the extended warranty from Protect my Car was gonna replace the one that I had and that it was gonna start right away, immediately. I looked at the paperwork and then I called the agent directly, and she assured me that I had coverage. They promised me that it was gonna be covered for a lesser price. So I accepted it and they made me cancel the coverage I already had. But come to find out, when the alternator went out, my car wasn’t covered so I wasn’t happy to pay for it out of pocket. Then it happened again. So, I took it to a place that was certified, that had been in business for 30 years, and they agreed to cover it but they had to go back and forth with the agent from Protect My Car. The rep switched around saying the car wasn’t covered, but the car was covered by the warranty. So far, I haven’t had any more issues with them but I wouldn’t recommend them right now. They tell me one thing, but they do something else.

I bought a used car and I got two warranties at the same time, just two days apart, and one was Protect My Car. I said I will keep both to see which one is gonna do the covering and which one is not, and then I would cancel the other one. The Protect My Car rep I spoke with when purchasing the warranty was good. He answered any questions I had. Having an auto warranty, I feel better knowing that if something happens, I got somebody covering my car.

I wanted extra warranty for my car. Someone I knew said Protect My Car was pretty good so I joined up with them. I liked their rep. She was very thorough and made me feel good. She broke things down and she named the things that the warranty covered. She sold it really well. She really did an excellent job on her presentation to me at that time and it sticks with me. She was very professional. I enjoyed talking to her. When people are polite to you, it sticks with you. I appreciate the polite ones because today, it's like the personal thing is really down. People don't even know how to talk. And I'm holding on to my warranty because it came in handy and what she told me was was true. I like Protect My Car. I filed a claim, and they didn't give me any problem. I'm still letting them take out of my account because I like it. And I would recommend them. I have told others about them. They have a good program. My experience was great.

Protect My Car had the best offer then, more than the other warranty companies. I had a chance to use their service one time and when I had to call over and get some information, their reps were polite and courteous. The two people I spoke to were both knowledgeable and good, and had the information that I needed. The dealership had to do something with the ball bearing and their mechanic handled the claims process. Protect My Car covered the claim but they first had their adjuster come out to make sure that the claim was valid. Their service was excellent and their cost is better than none. I love Protect My Car and I will recommend it to anybody.

The rep from Protect My Car was very informative. They gave me a deal that I could afford, because the first offer was too expensive for me. With that, you don’t have to accept the first option. There are more affordable options that Protect My Car has. And when I had to file a claim for air conditioner repair the mechanic did it for me. I wasn’t even aware of the services and then my mechanic goes, “Oh, yes. I use them all the time, so it’s not a problem.” So that made me feel more at ease. I had to pay my deductible, but Protect My Car covered the rest of the cost. I have a few questions to ask about an additional repair upcoming that I may need assistance with. But other than that, when I call in I don’t have any problems with them answering my questions. So, the process so far is great.

The representative was talking to me about Protect My Car. She broke it down to me and told me what the company do for people like myself. She said if your car happens to break down, you take it to a mechanic and the mechanic says it’s $1,500 to fix it. And then Protect My Car will step in and I just have to pay a deductible of $100 and they will cover it. At first I thought that was not possible. But when I did my research, it was true. Protect My Car kinda lives by it. I got towing done, but I had to pay the tow company out of pocket. There was a miscommunication at the beginning. I thought once I signed up, I will get services done immediately, but that wasn’t the case. I didn't know that it would take 30 days from when I signed up to take effect. But they helped me out in the long run anyway.

I got a service contract for my vehicle so that my car will be covered in case it breaks down and I’ve been with Protect My Car for a few months now. The reviews said they were good, but part of my repairs wasn’t covered and it didn’t specify it in the paperwork. They didn’t cover the joint on the front so I had to come out of pocket $700. The rep was good on the phone and talked like it was a reputable service. But lately, I’ve been shopping around to see what would be a better choice because I don’t want to be dishing out 700 every time I had to have a repair. I’m paying $110 a month and I would expect them to fix my car when it breaks down, which was not done.

Basically, the coverage lists those components that are the most likely to break down and be the most costly to repair. while no coverage plan covers 100% of any vehicle, we do believe our plans cover more components, at a better cost, than any other company.

I was shopping around for warranties and I was looking for someone new who was willing to be more so in my price range. Protect My Car gave me a better deal than anybody else that I had an opportunity to work with. The rep was able to break down all the information, and answer all the other questions that I had. He also gave me an opportunity to know about the perks that come with the program, and trying to figure out how to get more information about it was awesome as well.
He gave me an overall great vibe and gave me all the other information that I could possibly ask for and need to be able to make a quality and a sound decision. He gave me the opportunity to look at the different price ranges. Initially, he threw out a price, and I told him that it was a little too high. And then he gave me an opportunity to get a better pricing based on a sale that they had. He was able to get 10% off, and then another 10% off because I work for a city government agency.
The customer service representatives were good. They were able to give me information because I had a little confusion about how it worked. I was able to ask for them to be called by the service person, because I went to a Ford dealership to get my car serviced. They were quick. They did send me emails when I asked them for other information. They gave me everything that I needed to be successful and to get my car as quick as possible. My AC had gone out and it was $1,000. Protect My Car covered $800 of it. Everything was taken into a really good consideration, and they were able to get it done quickly. It took me all of four days to get my car fixed. I feel really secure with Protect My Car. I'm getting the best deal possible. If anything were to go wrong with my car, they will take care of it. And that if there’s anything else that I needed outside the warranty, they will give me the information for it. I am very, very happy with Protect My Car right now.

Protect My Car got lucky I saw their ad on Facebook. I was skeptical at first as I thought it might've been a scam. So I figured I'd call and see what it was about. Then, they kinda rolled me in. They gave an initial quote which I turned down. I told them it was way too much and I wasn't gonna pay that. And they just kept lowering the price until they lowered it to something that I couldn't really refuse. Plus, they said I could cancel at any time. If something went wrong with my car and I got it repaired, and I still wanted to cancel, they said I wouldn't have to pay them back. So, there wasn't much risk to it. That sounded good and if everything they were telling me was true, it was a no-brainer and I signed up.
When I submitted a claim with them, Firestone handled most of it. There was a little bit back and forth because one of the people didn't really understand what they were talking about as far as what would be covered and what wouldn't be covered. So originally, they thought that I was responsible for half, but either way, that person was new and didn't know what they were doing. So that was a bit of hassle because we had to call back, get that straightened out, then some things that they originally said were covered were not covered.
But in the long run, everything worked out. I still paid my deductible and the car was fixed, though it took two extra days to get it repaired. So in the end, everything was okay. Now, I'm thinking about getting another car covered because I have two cars. I didn't wanna do both right off the bat just in case it was a scam and a bad call. But I'm doing my other car and I'm hoping they'll give me the same pricing that they gave me on my first.

Thanks for your comments and for choosing Protect My Car.

Very shortly after I started my Protect My Car warranty, my AC went out and it was very easy to do the claim. I took my car to a mechanic and it was at the shop where my son was at. The warranty that came with my car was running out and I didn't like the amounts that the warranty provider was asking me, so I got a new one with Protect My Car. I just needed something else to take care of my car because I don't wanna spend too much. 200 or 300 is not bad. But I don't wanna be trying to pay 1,200 and 1,300.
My Protect My Car rep was pretty good. He was there, he was very informative, he let me decide if I wanted to go on, and he told me exactly what was gonna come. I called him back and he explained everything to me. He was pretty inquisitive and answered some questions that I asked. He went a little bit in depth about how to file a claim and all the benefits. But I need to check with him on that just to make sure I understand how that goes.
I filed one claim so far and the process was pretty good. The company that helped me do it was the place where I had my car. They've used Protect My Car and some other company as well so they made it possible to tell me who I needed to call, who I needed to talk to, what paperwork needed to get sent to them. Then once it got sent to them, they made sure I got it and read it then signed. They were pretty good at that and that made it kinda easy. I've had Protect My Car for a year now and it's been going good.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Protect My Car. We appreciate that and thank you for choosing Protect My Car. Please do not hesitate to give us a call so we can answer any questions you may have about the coverage or the claims process (Hint: It's Simple!)

My husband told me about Protect My Car and I like their plan. The only thing I have a problem with was they told me I was getting a $200 discount for signing up but I never got a package. So, they just need to communicate better on their specials. Other than that, I had submitted a claim on one of my vehicles. I got approved for when my Nissan Ultima got totaled in a car accident on the 26th of September, so they put that on a deferment payment. I’m still working with the insurance company to get another vehicle and I don’t know when I’m gonna get another one or if I could do the extra insurance. Still, submitting a claim is easy.

Protect My Car provides good service. I went with them because payment is month to month and I didn’t have to pay anything upfront. However, the moment they start the warranty is after 1 month. They should start right away after taking the premium, but they said, “No, you have to wait for 30 days and you’ll do 1,000 mile on it.” Other than that, I have already filed a claim with them and it was taken care of.

Thank you for your comments. To answer your question, the first thirty days is a free look period for you to have plenty of time to review the coverage to make sure it meets your needs. The small down payment holds the coverage and terms so that will not change during the free look period. Once that period is over, your coverage will protect you and your budget, not to mention your car.

So far Protect My Car has been pretty good. Their reps pretty much knew what they were talking about and pretty informed. They gave me the breakdown of the plan and the rates, like some of the repairs and what they cover and don’t cover. I did the first claim through my Nissan dealer. It was a little back and forth and haggling, like what parts to use. I understand from the insurance part like they’ll go with the aftermarket parts, but normally if I was fixing my car on my own, I would always put original parts on the car. It will have a warranty on it and if something was to go wrong with it, that will be more Nissan’s part to fix it than Protect My Car. But Nissan worked it out and that’s the only thing I sorta didn’t like about Protect My Car.
Nevertheless, I already recommended them to like three people I know. I told these people that my car was getting problems and issues. My bill would’ve been like 3,000 out of pocket. I actually walked around with the bill to show them. When I took it to the Nissan dealer I only paid like 500. That’s the stuff they didn’t cover. When you’re comparing apples to oranges, instead of me paying close to $3,000 out of pocket, I only paid 500. I also had my radiator done and I only had to pay $100 on that, and they were like, “No. Really?” I answered, “Yeah.” Honestly, get it. It’s an insurance policy, it’s another bill, but when that car breaks down it’s really worth it.

Thank you for your comments. We can certainly understand your preference. Remember, though, Protect My Car provides a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty on all parts, so there are no worries. We do thank you for choosing Protect My Car. We know you will save a ton of money with this coverage.

The reps from Protect My Car were pretty good and professional. But they didn’t tell me what all I was gonna be buying because I did have a discrepancy when I ended up having to use them. My car messed up, but they didn’t tell me a certain thing wasn’t covered and I ended up having to come out of pocket. They didn’t tell me that I have to pay for my labor fees either. I filed a claim for my lower control arm that was bad. When I finally tried to get it done, it took them almost a month for my mechanic to reach somebody. So, that’s gotten a nuisance. And then, they hung up on him twice and me three times.
So, when my mechanic finally got in touch with them, my piece ended up breaking, and it ended up causing more damage and they wouldn’t do anything about it. They’re just covering one piece. They covered the piece that ended up breaking, but they didn’t cover the aftermath. And they told me that all I would have to pay is $100 deductible, and it would get fixed, but I had to pay the labor fees.

By the way, the reason that the control arms were not covered is that they were broken in half due to a collision. That is something your insurance may cover. This coverage is limited to mechanical breakdown repair, not accident collision. Even in that case we assisted you with the repair on the other damaged components and saved you over $650.00. That help was provided the very day we received the claim from the shop, not a month later.
In any event, thank you for your comments.

Protect My Car had a good deal and the people were nice. Everyone has been good, so far. However, when I had an incident when the engine wasn’t working, it took them two months to process. In the meantime, I borrowed my wife’s car. They didn’t cover everything. The coverage didn't cover rental. They only paid $10 or $15. And, they didn’t cover the extended warranty of the labors. So if the engine goes bad again, I have to see my paper, all things, which takes a long time. I have to take care of it myself.
I wasn’t very happy with the cost. They didn’t cover all the engine tracking cars, too. With some type of cars, the mechanic would add the oil engine removal cost. We talked to Protect My Car about it and they said they didn’t cover that. They also didn’t cover any more mileage than that previous mileage engine, and I wasn’t very happy. There were little things here and there that I wish they could do a better job. I saved money even though I have to fight for a little bit with Protect My Car. They did repair my engine even though it doesn’t cover all, so they did a very good job. There were just some risks I have to take. Having an extended warranty is fine. And when I purchased the warranty, I asked certain things and they told me that my vehicle would be covered for certain things. I took my car in after about four months of me having the policy just for check-up, to get oil and stuff like that changed. I thought that there was a couple of things that was wrong with it. They didn’t cover anything. I had to pay pretty much everything out-of-pocket.
Then, when I dove even further into it, I said, “Well, let me ask you guys a question. I was told that I was covered for this, that and the other. Just in case if this does happen down the road, am I covered for them?” And they told me that it wasn’t. So, nothing that I’ve really wanted to be covered for the vehicle is not even covered. So, I left them. I didn’t get any money back and the process was terrible. I’m very disappointed, and I would not recommend. The customer service was terrible. I put it in the shop without really knowing really what was wrong. The car was in the shop for about a week. But I had it back quickly. It was pretty fast. Those gentlemen from Protect My Car were all pretty cool so far. I would recommend them.

A friend of mine had a positive experience with Protect My Car and he mentioned the name and he talked about his experience. I reached out to them and the interaction with the rep was professional and high quality. We went a little bit back and forth with the specific things that the mechanic was talking to them about, and trying to figure out what was the exact coverage. It was very constructive. They were doing a decent job of balancing the details and the timeline. So, it was good all the way through.
I took the car to the shop for regular maintenance and the mechanic mentioned that he saw some oil leaking. He looked into it and as he took off this plastic cover and looked a little more closely, he made the assessment that something was leaking. He didn’t know what or where the leak was coming from. He worked out the claim on his side through Protect My Car and all of that was settled, so my understanding and thinking was to continue making my payments as usual. I paid the mechanic the balance of what I needed to pay that was worked out the representatives. I was happy with my experience with Protect My Car.

Someone had called me about Protect My Car and I had a nice and wonderful interaction with their representative when I purchased their warranty. When I had to submit a claim, I dialed their number and told them I wanna file a claim. We went through the process, which is easy, and then the representative helped me find an auto place to send my truck to as well as helped me out with having my car towed there. Everything is working out well with Protect My Car so far.

I was looking for an extended warranty and the gentleman from Protect My Car who spoke to me and who explained everything to me pretty much sold it. It met every criteria that I needed. Then, as I got into it, I found out it was probably the best one that I’ve researched. Everything was pretty good with filing claims with them and it was pretty easy. They have done their job. The only concern I have is that I’ve been taking my vehicle to a couple of places that are convenient but the service hasn’t been up to par. I had three recommendations from Protect My Car because they were local, but when it came down to the actual service, I wasn’t satisfied with them. I have not gotten a good service out of the mechanics I’ve come to. If I had it taken to a dealership, I’m sure my service would’ve been better because they would’ve been knowledgeable about what needs to be done about cars.
I had an issue and I was told I had to keep taking it back to the same one because the gentleman was supposed to fix it which I had originally got fixed. And I’m having a difficulty believe that I’m still having that same problem. But he’s telling me it’s something different. So, it’s almost like I’m never getting that one issue resolved. I don’t have that much knowledge about transmissions or problems that way. But Protect My Car could get an inspector come out there and give a review about the vehicle once it’s been repaired, that way it won't leave me in a bad situation and they wouldn't be just taking my word.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car and for your comments.

I purchased a service contract because I know if anything goes wrong with my car, it will cost a lot of money to fix it because of the type of car it is. I had called Protect My Car in regards to being interested in them before, but their payments were too high, so I didn't get any warranty with them. But then they called me back about a year later offering a dollar down payment, and then the monthly payments were a lot lower than what I was quoted originally when I contacted them. So the pricing was reasonable. The Protect My Car reps answered the questions and issues that I had. They were very knowledgeable with what was going on.
I filed a claim for my AC that had went out. I was taking my car for an oil change because it was time for it.. But while I was on my way there, I noticed that my air had stopped blowing cold. I actually noticed it the day before, so I was like, "I'm taking it anyway to get my oil change. I'll just inquire about it." So I thought it just needed some Freon because it just happened out of the blue. When I took it in to the repair shop, they called me back and said no, it wasn't low on Freon but the compressor had went out. So that's when I told them, "Well, I have a warranty on it," and I gave them the Protect My Car information and that was it. I never spoke to anybody. The repair shop did it.
Things weren't really explained to me properly until they actually started fixing the stuff on my car. I did not know that Protect My Car doesn't cover any kind of fluids or any kind of replacement that they had to replace in order to fix whatever was wrong with the part. The repair shop put a compressor on. I had to pay for all the antifreeze that they put back in there and they had to do something and I had to replace the oil. I had to buy bolts or screws or anything that they used to put my compressor on. So, that never was explained to me. I did not expect to have to pay for that because they still came up to be kind of pricey.
The claim process took a while. They had to send an inspector out. And then, after they sent the inspector out, it took them like three more days to even approve the repair. So my car was just sitting there because the repair shop wasn't gonna touch it until they got the okay from the warranty that it was gonna be covered. And because I know that if it was too expensive, I wasn't gonna be able to pay. So I told them not to do anything. That took a process, so I was without a car for whole seven days because I had to wait on Protect My Car to send somebody out. And then when a man came out, I felt they could have done better. When they come out, they should already have a laptop or something with them so when at once they approve the claim, then they should be able to process it right then.
It shouldn't be that they come out, Protect My Car approves it, and they can get a guy right there to work on it. They told them they had to wait until they got a confirmation number or something before they proceed. So it took them three days to send them that before they can even start working. I think that's ridiculous. There should be a quicker process.

We are very glad you chose Protect My Car. Glad to have you.

I had a warranty on my car and decided to get an extended warranty to make sure I’m covered at any point in time with my vehicle. A friend introduced me to Protect My Car, and I know him to be a very good researcher, so I went by what he told me. The rep that I dealt with was friendly and professional. He broke down the details and gave me the option to choose what I wanted. He really explained everything to me in a simplified way and that made it easy for me to make up my mind on the choice I wanna go with. It also showed that they have the knowledge of what they actually said with the service they provided.
I've had to file a claim one time and the vehicle repair shop called the warranty company and they sorted it out. I was expecting that I was gonna get a call but I did not get one. I had to pay for most of it out-of-pocket, though it wasn’t that much, but maybe there's a way that more could be covered. Other than that, the quality of service is good. It was simple and easy to work things out.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect My Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

I called Protect My Car and told them what was going on with my truck. They told me that I had the kind of policy that I could take it to any place I wanted to so, I chose to take it to a Ford dealership. When I got there, I told the guy what was going on and he said that they would fix what was wrong with it and then they would call Protect My Car and get it taken care of. It was a sensor issue and Protect My Car told the guy from the dealership that they don’t cover sensors. Plus, it was the spark plugs and they don’t cover maintenance. The guy from the dealership named off all the stuff they don’t cover and it was all the stuff that was wrong with the truck. I was gonna end up having to pay somewhere close to $1,000.
I called Protect My Car myself and the first guy I talked to was real rude. I was really upset with him. The second one that they put on the line said he would get ahold of one of his supervisors and when he got on the phone, he said they would go ahead and cover the sensor which was $700 and something and that I would have to pay a deductible. Then, I called the dealership back and told them. I ended up having to pay $100 deductible and they didn’t do the spark plugs because the spark plugs were considered a maintenance thing that I didn’t know about. Also, I didn't think I had to pay the deductible but it was okay.

Thank you for your comments. It is unfortunate that the repairs you had done were maintenance and wear and tear items only. Even those cna be expensive. Remember, though, that the coverage is for mechanical breakdowns, not to replace wear and tear items. Those are replacements you can see coming and can plan for. Mechanical breakdowns are almost always without notice and can be far more expensive. If that should happen, you will be glad that you hd the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.
The coverage booklet explains in easy to understand and complete details on what is covered under your plan. However, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us. we are here to help.

At that time, Protect My Car was cheaper than some other companies. The rep explained that there were other reward perks that I could receive based on paying for the warranty product on a monthly basis. She gave me the breakdown as to what the cost would be and sent me the policy as to what would be covered and what isn’t considered covered.
What I did not see in there was that the company chooses if they wanna purchase aftermarket parts or pay for the parts from the facility. I didn’t see any language in there stating that it's up to their discretion as to what type of parts. I needed to find out on my end. I don’t feel that I should have to wait weeks to get my vehicle fixed because they wanted to buy aftermarket parts when they know my vehicle is at a dealership. The person I spoke with last time know based on the extent of five weeks that I went through about not having my vehicle that if this ever happens again, I'm doing more than just going with another company. I'm not happy with them at all.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you feel the process cost more in time than it actually did. Remember, too, all parts provided by Protect My Car come with a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty for your protection.

I received a call from Protect My Car and the rep was really good. He promised he would not push me or anything and he just wanted me to hear him out. I respected that. It was just his sincerity about it. He was very informative and I liked what he had to say and I purchased the warranty. I like this one better than the warranty I used to have. If there's a thing I'd complain about, it's to have everybody on one page and not have to wait so much time before we have that understanding whether a claim is covered or not. I had a mechanic say he was on the phone with them for an hour talking about the issue and they initially said they would cover but after, they said they wouldn't. He said I wasted all that time of his day back and forth. Other than that, it's been good so far with Protect My Car and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

My car is a 2013 so I knew I was gonna eventually start having problems with it. I saw Protect My Car's ad on TV and I loved it. I like the slogan, Protect My Car, which means I need to protect my car and it was catchy. It didn't seem fake so I wrote the company down and decided to call them one day. When I purchased the warranty, the representative who I dealt with was very helpful and really nice. He explained everything to me and he answered every question I had. Our interaction was excellent and I was really satisfied with the information that he gave me about the company. I also got them checked out with BBB and everything looked good. So, I decided they are my company and I went with them.
I called customer service a couple of times to ask questions and the guys were very professional. Somehow, they end up getting my wrong address, so I never got my packet sent to my house. I called them back and they resent it to me and I received it. I liked that and I told myself that I was gonna stick with them. Submitting a claim was good too. When I filed, I didn't have any problems and the representative told me exactly what to do. He also gave me the information that I needed to give to the mechanic that I took my car to. The total process took a day and a half and I like the way everything went. Everything was good, it went smooth, and I was very satisfied with that. Protect My Car has excellent quality of service and I've already told a couple of my family members and friends about them.

Protect My Car called me. They told me I had no warranty on my vehicle. I really wasn't interested, but the guy kinda talked me into it, and I wound up going for it. He sounded like he was legitimate and it's good to have an extended warranty on my vehicle. I didn't have one and I said, "Well, if anything major goes along, at least, I'll have it."
I had to use the service contract and I wasn't satisfied. I was thinking about cancelling it. The first time I used it, I needed a radiator fan, and they covered that with no problem. The second time I had issues with my vehicle, the car was making all kinds of noises and stuff. I took it in to Honda where I purchased it, and they looked at it, and I needed a whole bunch of stuff, but Protect My Car didn't wanna cover any of the things that were wrong with my vehicle. It was like $1,500, and they didn't wanna cover any of it.
I called. I was flipping out. I said, "I'm paying money for this. I didn't call you guys, you called me. And here I have an issue, and you don't wanna pay for it." So, they agreed to pay for one thing, which was the water pump. I paid $900 for two things that were actually covered. They wouldn't pay for it because the rep said that's not why I brought it into the shop. I brought it into the shop and they looked at my vehicle and they found all the stuff wrong with it, called up the warranty company, so they should've covered what's wrong with the vehicle. The mechanics knew what it needed. And Protect My Car told them and they didn't wanna cover it. I'm really not at all happy with them. They want me to bring my car and I'm supposed to know what's wrong with my car. If the parts that are listed that they cover and they don't wanna cover it, what's the point of me having the warranty.
I haven't had a chance to do anything because my mother's in the hospital and I'm going crazy with the house and then running back and forth to the hospital. So I haven't really had time to deal with the issue. But I'm very dissatisfied. The customer service when I called in on the phone wasn't really nice. He was a bit nasty to me. I would not recommend this company at all to anybody. I'm not happy.

I saw an extended warranty ad on Facebook and I thought it’d be a smart idea to get for my car. The Better Business Bureau pages showed that Protect My Car has been in business for the past 13 years. I had a claim with them that they handled pretty fast. The issue was with two inner tie rods and a stabilizer arm on the suspension. I gave the contract number to my dealer and they called Protect My Car, and they handled most of it with them. They came back to me later and said they paid for it. Then they authorized the repair and I just had to pay the $100 deductible. It saved me $700, which is pretty good. I had a fairly newer car so I got the Preferred plan which covers a lot more than these typical plans do for anything past a certain amount of mileage. The coverage is pretty good if you got a mid-level mileage car.

So far, my experience with Protect My Car has been okay. I had them before with the jeep I had and I never used it. The first time I filed a claim, it was something that they did not cover. I had also called one time for something and they didn't cover it. They just reimbursed me back. I was paying into the policy for two years or so and I never used it. So I said, “I’m just gonna drop it because I don’t think that’s fair.” I got another vehicle and the only one I knew about is Protect My Car. So, I called back, got another quote for the jeep I have now, which is another one, and they gave me around a bit more steeper price.
Everything was okay with the reps as far as explaining Protect My Car to me. And from my knowledge, it has a nice amount of coverage on it. There were some things though that they don’t cover. So far, I just filed one claim. It was for an air condition. I had to drop the car at the dealership and I had to wait four hours in order for a rental car to be picked up. They got in contact with Protect My Car, and that was something that was covered. The dealership went on and dropped me off at the rental car place. They told me it’d be under Protect My Car. I just didn’t like the wait time. If a claim is something that’s covered, they should go ahead and put it through with the warranty or put it through with the customer if the customer should cover it. The repair took a week. I made an appointment, but when I got to the dealership, they said they were behind by a week or two. But that was not our appointment.
So far, the quality of Protect My Car is okay. I just don’t wanna experience something that is not covered and be paying into the policy. If the claim is something that is completely not covered, Protect My Car should still help out the customer such as doing something of a percentage. I don’t care if it’s 25% of how much that problem is with the vehicle. It’s something just to hold their customer with them. But I do feel secure now. A lot of things are covered, and I know I gotta pay my $100 deductible and get the issue fixed.

The supervisor above Andrew ended up helping me but every interaction I had with Andrew was horrible. The tone of his voice and the way he would always cut me off when I was trying to explain something was very disheartening, especially when you have a car that you love and there’s a big bill above your head. I thought that I have a service that would help me but then, the service denied helping me.
At the end of the day, a gentleman helped me out and took care of the part of my transmission. He didn't take care of the labor but it was better than nothing. Everything is working out fine. I like the fact that I have used Protect My Car's service and I didn’t have any challenging problems. However, I had a situation where I was having a car issue and the first representative I dealt with was not as knowledgeable. It was about a month after I took the plan. My car was stalling when I was driving, so I pulled over and tried to make a call to Protect My Car to see what I needed to do. The representative told me that in order for them to provide me service, my car has to be completely stalled on the side of the road. So I replied with, “So, you’re telling me I can’t just take it straight to a dealership or somewhere to get it repaired because I’m stalling? I’m afraid if I turn my car off, then I’m gonna need a tow truck." Then, she said that if I turn my car off, then I would get the service because it’s stalled. I asked her what if I’m close to a dealership? She said that they won’t fix the car unless it’s stalled.
At that point, I told her that I don't want a plan that I have to wait until my car is completely stalled to obtain services. I hung up the phone because I didn't feel comfortable with the conversation. I then spoke to the manager, and he said I could take it to get repaired right away, but I had to call them before I get anything done. He was more knowledgeable, and he said he would speak to the first representative that I dealt with.
When I took my car in, I liked that I was communicated throughout the day with one of Protect My Car's representatives, and they kept on telling me that they were gonna work out whatever they could to get my car fixed, and they did. And then, I was in a car rental, so I wasn't inconvenienced. I've recommended them to someone already.

We will be going through some additional training for that agent and we appreciate your letting us know about your experience.

Back in May, I was thinking about coverage and the rep from Protect My Car contacted me over the phone. I wasn’t sure at first but after I received all the information and had the chance to compare with another program, I thought I made a great choice by choosing Protect My Car. When the rep was discussing the policy with me, he started asking me about my family and I told him that my daughter and her husband are in the military. I was expecting to pay one price but he gave me even more discounts than what I was expecting, so the experience was good. I was also given more information than I thought I already knew and it was even better than what you see on TV.
I have a regular mechanic that I go to and my car started making little funny noises. I took it to him and he said he couldn’t see anything wrong but he heard the noises. He suggested that I take it to a transmission shop. That was what we assumed at first and when I got it to the shop, they took a look at it and called me a couple of days later. There was a link that was rubbing up against something in the engine. They contacted Protect My Car and got them down to inspect my car and see if it was an actual claim that I could process. Then after that, they contacted me and said that they could do it. They needed information on all the work that I had done on my car in the last year. Once they got that, they went ahead and agreed to do this for the engine, and did it.
There were little things they didn’t take care of but when I talked to the guy who does the actual work, he said that a lot of companies might or might not. Protect My Car did the engine but they wouldn’t pay for spark plugs, the oil change and the oil filter. It was little stuff so I wasn’t tripping off to that. The other coverage which was the bigger portion of it was taken care of and it was a blessing at the time. I had a great experience. What they did for me paid for itself and I’m gonna keep the policy.

I was not happy with CarShield and then the regular wear and tear of my vehicle model that my mechanic said would probably come up in the next 50,000 miles were not the major parts that CarShield covers. And so, I looked for a company that covers some of the more major parts that I’m expecting to give me trouble in the near future and got Protect My Car.
My first big experience ended up pretty good. I called my mechanic, my mechanic told me that this is what was causing the problem that I was having. He has a copy of my policy page, so he was able to highlight a couple of things for me. And when it came up, I felt strong about it being covered. I called Protect My Car and turned in my keys to him. Protect My Car worked it out and he called me and let me know that my vehicle was ready. It was just that I was expecting to receive a call from someone saying that I was qualified for a rental vehicle given that the mechanic had said it would take this amount of time to fix my car. I was under the impression that that would be directed by Protect My Car and not by me. My mechanic said that that is not something that he is to follow up with. That was the only thing that I expected to happen but did not. However, they covered my vehicle for the damage that it had.

As detailed in the policy booklet, your coverage will reimburse you for the rental car expense up to the contract limits. We'll have an agent give you a call to go over your expense in more detail.

He claimed to be a supervisor but very RUDE! He literally laughed at the fact that I did not want their services with a 2011 Ford Explorer, that is not worth fixing if something went wrong. If this guy is a supervisor, he is rude!!!! I will be reporting to the BBB, and any other outlet that I can.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you feel the agent was rude to you. Your coverage was cancelled at your request and your down payment was refunded.

I had just bought a used car. After the warranty from the factory went out, I knew I needed to have a warranty on it because of the Infiniti. I've heard about the cost of everything with Infinities. It will cost me out of pocket. I called Protect My Car and I felt safe with what they said. There were a lot of other car warranties that I could've worked with, but I worked with them. Everything was cool with the rep. The only thing I didn't get was that I got information that my car is covered under. But other than that, everything they told me was in line with what I wanted. I see the importance of having a warranty and I see different people advertising every day about warranties and I said, "I'm satisfied." Everything I've called just far was taken care of. 'Cause I had some times with my car last month and they took care of it. They've done everything that they said they would do under the contract. I will be recommending a friend of mine to them.

I bought a car from somebody and the warranty was already up once I bought it. I was checking around on another warranty and I saw some advertisement online for Protect My Car. When I was purchasing the warranty, I had an excellent interaction with the representative and they did a great job of explaining the benefits and how to file a claim. Customer service has been very helpful and everything went well when I submitted a claim. All in all, I like the coverage offered. It’s not only affordable, but it’s way more helpful than most of the other extended warranty companies ‘cause a lot of them want me to pay $300 or $400 a month. So, everything is working out great.

We do work hard to make sure this protection is affordable for everyone’s budget. It’s all part of not just doing the right thing, but doing things right for each customer.

Having a protection plan is very important and I liked what the rep from Protect My Car was saying as well as their coverage plan. They said it was reasonable and that I was able to afford it. The rep was wonderful, very professional and explained everything to me. I asked them to call me back and to let me think about it. They did call back and went over everything. The windshield wiper motor went out as well as where you dispense the water to clean your windshield, and I called Protect My Car and explained what was going on. They told me to take it over to Acura and I did that, and they gave the okay to repair. It didn’t take long to get fixed and there wasn’t any problem. Plus, the customer service reps were 100% very intelligent and nice.

When I called to check about Protect My Car's warranty, the guy that I talked to was a little pushy getting me to get it. I kept trying to explain to him that I would talk to my wife and call them back, but he was persistent. I ended up getting off the phone, but I called back the next day and got it. Their claims department was awesome, however, I wish there was a way to make the claims process a little quicker. I had a repair done on my car, and it took them quite a while to get it approved for the work that needed to be done. I understand they have to go into a thorough check, especially because I had to have a transmission replaced, and see the cause of it, but I was without my car a little longer than what I expected.
Also, AAMCO was calling me and Protect My Car, and I was calling Protect My Car and I was calling the shop since we were not hearing anything. I got told one time that they would contact me in 24 to 48 hours, but I did not hear from them for a week. A little more interaction would've been nice to keep me in the loop, letting me know what's going on and what's causing the delay. Other than that, they were awesome and they saved my butt. I’ve already recommended it to people.

Some repairs do take longer to complete. WE make sure that the right repair is being done and the the repair is being done right the first time. We appreciate your patience.

I thought that a service contract for my vehicle was a good deal and it would work, so I decided to get one. Protect My Car was the first one that offered at the time so I purchased from them. My interactions with their rep was pretty good. They were confident, generous and kind. I also talked to their customer service reps when the catalytic converter on my SUV was going out and they were nice. Unfortunately, it wasn't covered. But I was able to use the policy to have the oil changed and the process was kinda long. I had to wait a while to get my claim approved as the service provider had to wait a long time on the phone to get through to someone to have it approved.

I had both my vehicles covered with Protect My Car, but I cancelled one policy. Before I received this policy, I made sure that I asked the guy who was selling me this policy if sensors and all these stuff were covered on my vehicle ‘cause I paid out-of-pocket last time. He said yes and he would give me the best coverage. My vehicle broke down and they covered the compressor. All that went out of my Mercedes. And I came out-of-pocket by $4,000. I asked Protect My Car what was the use of me paying them every month for the coverage. So I cancelled that. I got a Cadillac Escalade on coverage now and I’m reading over some of the stuff that’s covered and I don’t know if I’m gonna cancel it, too, and find somebody else to cover it.
My provider before didn’t cover as much stuff as Protect My Car covers and that was why I went with Protect My Car. The interaction with the rep went very well when I purchased the warranty. You just read between the lines when you get the contract. When you get the contract, it’s something totally different from what they say to you. It’s misleading and they weren’t honest with me.

Thank you for your comments and for trying Protect My Car. We regret that you did not see the value in the coverage. The purpose of the policy is to pay the cost of covered repairs less the deductible. No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage. Again, thank you for your comments

I bought the best plan I could and I didn’t even know my navigation system was part of the plan. I got tints and I can’t see with all these curtains so I need my back-up camera. But the TV where you pull up everything went out. I didn’t know that meant so much until it was gone. I need my TV to back up. I called Protect My Car and the rep said he would look into it. I had a claim on my extended auto warranty provided by Protect My Car and it went great. I called them first and there was some talking between us. The timing belt needed to be changed and at the beginning, they said they don't cover it. The first lady who answered me was not very friendly and I felt like I just pay money and nobody helps me when I need the help. She was not very good, to the point that I said, “Okay, I’m gonna cancel my warranty extension.” Then, she sent me to another guy who was much better, and he told me, “No,” and he helped me.
Before I started the policy, my car at that time was 90,000 and I asked, “If I’m going to change my timing belt, are you gonna pay for this?” Their representative said, “For sure.” Then when I called, the lady told me, “No. We don’t pay for that. You have to go and change the timing belt and if it’s broken, then we fix it.” I said, “Really?” So, anyway, in the end, they asked to me to go to any mechanic and the mechanic made a quotation then he sent it to them. A guy was sent and he checked the car, then he approved the parts for the fixing the car. They paid a part and I paid another part.

I was looking for an extended warranty a couple of years ago, and I went online and started looking at the various companies that provide it. I happened to wind up with Protect My Car and then, the car that I had at that time was totaled. When I purchased another car, I went back to them. Comparing the cost and everything, it probably had the best price. I asked companies about certain items that they covered or didn’t cover, and Protect My Car had the lowest deductible. Also, they covered more items than some of the other groups that I talked with. The rep from Protect My Car was willing to answer my questions, so the interaction was fine. When I went to have my car taken care of, I gave the dealership my card and they called it in. They said Protect My Car covered it so making a claim was not a problem at all.

I purchased a service contract for my car by accident. I was calling for Rocky Mountain Health Insurance and the number of Protect My Car was almost the same number, but I dialed it by accident and the guy presented their policy to me. I ended up getting it though initially, I had no knowledge about them. When he explained everything over the phone with me, they didn't sound bad and I decided to give it a shot. He was very good at explaining but in the beginning, I didn't like how much I was paying for the next four years. But he was telling me that I have a 5-year warranty on it and on my last year, I'd pay nothing. So, I’m paying now but at least on my fifth year, I'd be paying nothing and my car is still protected.
Other than that, they were gonna pay half of anything that would be wrong, mechanically, with my vehicle and that got my attention. Then, I needed roadside assistance and I was getting rid of AAA because I wasn’t happy with Colorado AAA. I heard the New York one was much better. I was pleased that Protect My Car offered that service to me and it comes with the policy. And if I get stranded somewhere out, far away from my destination, they’re willing to pay for my hotel space. On top of that, they give you rent-a-car for three days if your car needs any kinda repair. I don't use those things on a regular basis but it felt good just to have them with the policy. If you need the service, it’s there. If you don't need it, it’s still there.
So far, I used the service twice already. The first time, they dropped the ball on that because the guy never came and changed my tire. But eventually, he came. Then, the second time, I used the service to get my oil changed and it was amazing. I went in there, they did the work, there were no bills, and I walked right out of there. I recommended Protect My Car to my friends as well. I told them to let me try it out and I will let them know within a year how everything turns out. I told them to let me be the guinea pig, so if anything goes wrong, they don't have to worry about losing their money. But so far, I like it.

But I was getting ready to cancel not too long ago until they figured out something ‘cause I called them a couple times, and they weren’t covering anything. But someone made a mistake when I called. It was a wheel bearing issue, and they didn't cover it, but come to find out that they do cover it. But they're now punishing me. They're giving me a reimbursements, but I’m being punished, not getting my full amount because they said I didn't call, but I did. Other than that, everything is fine. I’m still waiting on my reimbursement.
I’m also not satisfied when they do a reimbursement, telling me it takes 30 or 45 days. That doesn't make sense. I called them in September. I probably won’t get my reimbursement ‘til the end of October. If my car is in the shop and it’s something that they cover, I guess my car would be in the shop for 30 days. 30 days is a bit much. I’ve had reimbursements before, and they told me 7 to 10 days. And when they said 30 days, I almost fell over. But I’m a little more satisfied with the service contract now than I was.

Protect My Car gave me a call about the warranty. And at the time, I didn't have any extended coverage on my own car. Protect My Car has a reasonable price. Their rep gave me good details on what was going on. He knew what he was talking about from what I interacted with him. But I didn't agree, when my motor went out, that I had to come out pocket. They said there was a discrepancy on one of the information that was provided. But they didn't get back with me. They told me they already knew the matter is on the car. They said the guy gave them the wrong matter. I gave them everything I needed, and I gave them everything they asked me for. And it’s like it didn't go for what they were talking about on the front end.
Also, when there was a problem, they couldn't fix it. They were sitting on the information for seven months, and they never said anything. I paid them for seven months, and then, once my motor went out, they said, “I need to know the matter. I need to know your oil checks, how long you’ve been having your oil….” None of that was provided before I even got the insurance. I don't keep receipts, so I had to go to the places to get the receipts. When I provided them with it, they told me there was a discrepancy. I get them all the information that they need, but I still had to come out of pocket.
I had to pay 3,200 for the whole motor myself, and then, they said they're gonna pay for the motor being put in but I still had to been out of more money for the stuff that goes on the motor. They only thing they covered was strictly the motor being put in. I won’t recommend anybody. The dude that I talked to provided good information but when I had the problem, it didn't happen as smoothly as what he said it would be. They did jump out, but they didn't jump how they said they were gonna jump because I was out of too much money out of my own pocket. I never got reimbursed at all.

Protect My Car is doing an absolutely fantastic job. There was a young lady that I spoke with, Quanisha. When the gentleman had me to talk to her, she expressed and explained what their coverage covered and everything on it. Besides that, there was a coupon deal with their service, I was sold. I wrote a nice letter to the company. I asked the gentleman to read it inside meetings so they can hear what customer service was about.
When I filed a claim I wrote all information down on the little card, like a credit card. I handed it to the lady. The next thing I knew, she walked into me and said the servicing company would be sending the parts that week, and she would call me when she would get them there, and tell me when I could come and get the vehicle serviced. I didn’t have to do anything. She did it all over the phone. This was on a Saturday. I went there 8 o’clock in the morning, and she said they don’t open up until 12:00.
And what happened was that I was sent the wrong parts. They didn’t send the complete parts. So that was how I got in touch Andrew, the claim adjustment guy. He was fantastic. He told me, “Don’t worry about anything.” He says, “I’ll take care of everything that you need to be taken care of. Anytime you have a problem or question, contact me.” I was talking to him with regards to one of the parts they sent because one of the parts they sent was the fuel pump, and the fuel pump itself is making a noise. When I asked them about the noise, they said that wasn't the fuel pump they sent. But other than that, it’s been fantastic. Andrew took care of everything.

I thought I had roadside service and I didn’t know I had to pay a percentage of that, which was what the rep told me yesterday when I called and told them my car wouldn’t start. The people at Tipton Ford said that if Protect My Car doesn’t pay once my car is fixed, it will be there until I pay. I can’t afford what they say was wrong with my car. If I had been stuck between here and Houston, I’ll still be there but I was glad that I was at home where it wouldn’t start. My car is still sitting out there in the driveway and with my experience, I was dissatisfied with Protect My Car. Before this claim, I got something wrong with my tire that was supposed to be fixed but the part was on back order. So, I have to wait until the 29th of this month to see if it will be fixed.

Protect My Car called me and I figured getting a warranty was a good thing to do. When my transmission went out, I was able to file a claim and the process went well. It was really smooth and whoever worked on it did a very good job. I was without my vehicle for 3 days after I turned it in, but it was over the weekend and they got me a rent-a-car. It was a fast process and I just had to pay a $100 deductible.
Protect My Car has certain places that I could choose from to where to take the car, and a lot of it was a licensed place. But I just normally take my car straight to the dealership. My car has a CVT transmission and they're supposed to be not replaceable. At first, I thought that it was not covered with the policy and I was gonna pay for the $3,000 myself but then it was like, “It’s probably parts of the transmission, not the whole transmission.” So, I called them and they had an inspector come out, and I took him to where I got my car from, Nissan. When the inspector came out, they did everything and they called me back and asked me when I would go ahead proceed with it. So, it was so good.

So far, I have used Protect My Car a couple of times. Protect My Car said they will pay half of my bill and that's about the only option that they gave me. Also, they didn't tell me I had three free oil changes a year and that they would do tire rotation on my vehicle. I only found out after the fact, which is great, because I already used the oil change once at a Jiffy Lube. That's when I called back again when it's not the change oil I wanted. It would have been nice to know that I have those options because that's definitely a plus. Three free oil changes a year, I'm all about that!
The first time I filed a claim, it got all screwed up, and I ended up paying the garage the whole amount. I was supposed to call Protect My Car back on a Saturday. They didn't open until 10 o'clock on Saturday and I had to go to work at 6 o'clock. Nobody ever called me back. And then, they canceled the claim after I had it fixed. So, I had to go back and fight with somebody else to get them to pay me back because I ended up just flipping the whole bill. They ended up mailing me a check back for half. I'm in the military, I'm used to chasing down people trying to get stuff done. So, that's nothing new for me. if you want something bad enough, you're gonna chase it down, and you're gonna play phone tag. And I know it was probably not the way it should have went, but that was the way it went.
The second time I called in, the garage was way overwhelmed. I ended up stepping in, talking to the lady from Protect My Car. Apparently, Protect My Car wanted him to fax stuff over and he said, "This is such a pain. Don't ever come back to my garage if you plan on using your warranty again because this is more work than it's worth." But I don't wanna go into a regular dealership because I know that if you go there, they're gonna charge you an astronomical amount of money. In the end, I was given a total bill of 700 bucks and I gotta pay 350, when I could've went through my mechanic and it's only 200 bucks, and I would've only had to pay 100! But still, I'm happy I was able to get the car done and I was satisfied I was able to get my money back.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

Then, when I was trying to call one of my credit card companies, I pushed one wrong number and Protect My Car came on the phone. That was accidental and it’s funny. I was like, “Wow.” The gentleman I spoke with told me all that they provide and the pricing, and I was like, “Okay.” It was time to pick up with another company ‘cause that was the plan. And while there was one time I interacted with a bad apple, everybody with Protect My Car has been good. Also, making the payments for the warranty is easy.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect My Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

When I signed up with Protect My Car, I thought they're really good but the problem started when it was time we needed help. They were not very nice to talk to when I call them back and I had a hard time asking them for help. I asked them if they can pay for some of the stuff and after that, even just I change the battery. First, they said they can pay if I'm going to put on the automatic starter. I've been paying for over a year and I didn't even ask for help with the oil change. They paid my bill for changing the windows, which is nice, but I asked them for help a couple of weeks ago and it's really sad. So, I wouldn't continue paying every month and I pretty much don't wanna deal with them anymore. I also don't think I would ever recommend them.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you feel the way you do. We understand you wanted the coverage to pay for your oil change in addition to the repairs that your coverage paid for. Your coverage is intended to help with mechanical breakdowns, which are almost always unexpected and very costly. Maintenance of a vehicle is something you can schedule and plan for financially. It is simply not covered under your mechanical breakdown coverage.
Since you have paid less than $200.00 in premiums since you purchased the coverage on this vehicle , and this one repair alone has saved you over $650.00, we feel the coverage has more than done its job. We hope that upon reflection, you will agree you made a smart decision to protect your budget with this coverage.

I had an issue with the vehicle on spark plugs and the coil and a leaky gasket causing an issue. I called Protect My Car and asked them if I could take it in the shop and they wanted me to pay $256, which was half of the bill. I was gonna cancel the next day but the guy called back saying that he had made a mistake because he was looking at two reports while talking to me. I would have liked if he made sure that he has his notes right and the right claim before he starts talking to people about what they have to pay. He said I just have to pay a $100 deductible. So now, I just gotta save money to have it fixed.

The rep I dealt with at Protect My Car pulled all the information about the car, and she set the account up and sent me all the information. I filed a claim for my starter and the claim went through easy and fast, the same day. I paid a certain portion of the expenses and everything's good now. The only problem I had with Protect My Car was the day that my car wouldn’t start, I jumped it and they were supposed to get somebody here to check the car out, but they sent somebody here to try to jump it. And I told them I already tried to jump it. I don’t know why they sent somebody to try to jump it. But then the next day, I had somebody check it out to see what it was, the starter.
I told the rep from Protect My Car I need them to tow the car and they wouldn’t tow. They said I gotta pay for it. I asked why would I pay for it when it's in my warranty and I also told them that they sent somebody out to do a jump when I already jumped it. I said it wasn’t the battery, but they wouldn’t let me get a tow. So, I had to go through my insurance to get it towed up here. But overall Protect My Car has been good.

I had to take my car into the Ford dealership in August because it was doing this little jerking thing and shaking. Ford had to order some parts, which was the delay, but everything went well. The problem had something to do with the water pump, the tension belt and timing belt, and some components in the engine. I talked to Protect My Car's rep, checking on my car and making sure that everything was moving, and they did a wonderful job. They let me know what the process was. I didn’t understand why my car was in the shop for three weeks, but they only covered it for one week, and the rep broke it down to me. He was a very nice gentleman. He helped me understand that it was pretty much on Ford to take care of me from that point. And Ford took care of me and put me in a rental until I got my car back.

I knew I needed to get something done because my wife passed away and things came up. I couldn't afford any major repairs and I had to do something and I went with the first company, which was Protect My Car. I'm stuck with them until my contract runs out or I sell my truck but everything has been going great. Right after I first got my stuff, I had a lot of trouble with my car because of where I was living. The mud and the water in the road were tearing up the undercarriage of the truck but I moved and I haven’t had any trouble with it. Protect My Car took care of everything for me when it was being done and got the payments made on time, and all I had to do was come up with my deductibles, which was a lot easier than dealing with the whole process. One of these days, I'm gonna figure out how to use the $100 month bonuses I got.
In submitting claims though, there were times when even my mechanics would have to spend 45 minutes to an hour on hold because Protect My Car has enough business and not enough telephone operators. But I do that with my telephone and nobody has enough help. When you get a customer who just wants to keep asking questions and talk all day, you can't hang up on them. It’s one of the things you gotta put up with these days because everybody's gone technical instead of just having a human answer the phone, but it's understandable.

The best part is, we are here to help you the next time you need us as well.

I thought Protect My Car was gonna benefit me. But the times that I've called, once, when I came to Jiffy Lube, they don't accept Protect My Car anymore 'cause they said something about not being paid timely. The other thing is when I tried to get my car repair for a starter issue, Protect My Car didn't cover that either. It seems like what they cover is very small for the premium that they charge. That's why I canceled it. Then when I did that, they were still charging me twice a month for five months. So, I filed a dispute against them. I'm just not pleased with their service. The representatives were professional but they couldn't resolve the issue. Protect My Car wasn't able to provide coverage.

To answer your question, we actually have a corporate account with Jiffy Lube. Some independent operators choose to charge their customers more than the agreed upon corporate they are supposed to charge our customers. We were happy that we could work this out with that shop and get them paid that day for the oil change. You should always call the claims administrator and let them work out the issue with the shop. There is no reason you should feel you have to do that yourself.
Yes, you were billed twice each month, one for each contract you had in force.

I was calling a different provider to get some information but Protect My Car had an ad for a service contract so while I was on hold, I thought I’d inquire about it and ended up getting it since it sounded like a good deal. And the reason why I decided to stay was because I was told that they cover preexisting stuff, where other companies don’t.
Their rep went over the plan information and there was a lot more than what was explained ’cause it’s quite a bit. I had to speak with several sales reps ‘cause I had an issue with the Nissan dealer for my daughter's car. I've taken it twice, ‘cause when I originally picked it up, it still wasn’t fixed. So, then when I took it back, they wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money. And after talking with them and with the manager, because everything was recorded, I was able to bring the price down because it was just their lack of communication and misdiagnosis.
Protect My Car helped me out in paying for some of it even though it wasn’t a covered part, because of how things were going. They were great because I feel like whenever I have an issue, I typically just get blown off or passed along, but Protect My Car did good about returning my call. One time, we got disconnected and they called me right back. And if they didn’t know the answer, they would check and call me back. I never felt like I was blown off or put aside. It was an ongoing issue for months and they were just very helpful. So, they definitely went above and beyond to help with that.
Now, my daughter can drive the car. The only issue that I'm having now is that the car still has a small leak, which if they put in a new transmission and engine, it shouldn’t have a leak at all. But I have to take it back to the Nissan dealer they're the ones that did the original work. This would be third time and I'm at the point where I just don’t trust them. But according to Protect My Car, that’s the only option I have or pay for it out-of-pocket and send it somewhere else which at this point, I would rather do that because as this would be the third time Nissan would have this car, I should get it back in a reasonable condition and everything should be in top shape.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. We appreciate that very much. We are very pleased to have helped you with the recent repair and glad we saved you so much money. That’s what a good policy is supposed to do. We look forward to helping you in the future when you need help. Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

I was told that Protect My Car would do anything for me if my car was to break down. I could take it to any shop and I wouldn’t have to worry about paying for anything. Those expectations weren’t met. My truck broke down and I took it to somewhere, and the only thing they were willing to pay for was half of my brake system, and I would have to pay the other half. But there were three things that were wrong with my vehicle and they said it was wear and tear.

Thank you for your comments. We do record all sales calls and maintain those records to make sure that all agents are totally honest and upfront with all customers regarding their coverage. As with all customers. our agent explained that the Elite coverage you chose allows you to chose any licensed shop to handle mechanical repairs, that the coverage reduces mechanical repairs by 50%, pays for recommended oil changes and tire rotations, provides benefits for towing, roadside assistance and rental car expenses.
Each customer is provided a coverage booklet that explains the coverage in clear, easy to understand terms. Every customer has a full thirty days to review the coverage and decide whether the coverage is right for them.
If you will review the coverage booklet you will see why the brake system you had repaired was covered, but the spark plugs and other tune up items were not covered. We are glad that the coverage saved you over $400.00 on just this one repair after only having the coverage for two months. It has already saved you more than twice what you have spent on the coverage. That is how good coverage is supposed to work.
We regret, again, that despite the agents explanation of the coverage and the written terms of coverage in the coverage booklet, you still had different expectations. Please do not hesitate to call anytime you have any questions about your coverage. We will be happy to help you.

I got a call from Protect My Car, and it sounded like it was a good deal. However, I found out that it really wasn't. The salesman left out a lot of things. He said that I would pay the $100-a-month fee and if anything goes wrong with my vehicle, they would pay 50%. They never told me there was gonna be a $500 deductible. When people file claims to a reputable warranty company, that company would send people out to check what is going on with the vehicle. That never happened with Protect My Car.
I took my vehicle to three different people and they never told me that if the job requires so many hours of labor, Protect My Car only pays for 9 hours. That was not how it was told to me. The rep said that if they cover it, I pay half the cost and Protect My Car would pay the other half. I paid $300 just for oil change. I get oil changes for $45 on my car.

On the recent repair, you saved over $700.00. With the two oil changes the coverage paid for, you saved a total of $800.00 in just the first two months you had the coverage. Since the premiums you paid during that time were under $300.00, you saved $500.00 with this coverage in just two months.
We do not go out and inspect vehicles before issuing coverage. Insurance companies will do so to prevent fraud, but reputable service contract companies, like ours, take our customer's word for the condition of their vehicles. We pay claims upon breakdowns so that customers, like you, are saving more with the coverage than the coverage costs them.
We are very glad the coverage worked so well for you. Thanks again for your comments.

When I was trying to get a hold of the IRS, the number was similar or had changed and Protect My Car had it. So, I accidentally stumbled upon them and I discussed with them the options. The representative explained everything clearly and I was surprised with some of the perks. I drive a lot for work and I try to keep my car in good condition, so I thought that they might help me make it a little easier. The rep sold me on their warranty and he didn’t have to do much. It's a straightforward program, there's no contract, and only $60 to cancel. Those are all legitimate deals and it's a really cool program.
One great thing about Protect My Car is I don't do anything when filing claims for repairs. I provide my client number to the shop, and the shop calls Protect My Car directly. They negotiate and then I just pay my half and that all sheer up. Moreover, the automotive mechanic, who has used others in the past, told me that they have been the easiest one he has ever encountered personally.
I've gotten a few repairs taken care of and an oil change, and so far, so good. I haven’t had anybody call and say, “Oh, no, we're gonna dispute that repair” or “maybe that repair is too much.” I use an affordable mechanic and the first time I had taken my car in for repair, the Protect My Car representative looked at the invoice and said, “Wow, this is a really good price.” I don’t wanna be sticking people with million dollar bills ‘cause I still gotta pay 50% of that. All in all, I hope to see Protect My Car around for a while and I also recommend them all the time. In fact, I always tell my family and people I know who drive a lot, “Hey, check them out,” and hopefully, they do.

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your being a valued customer of Protect My Car. Our coverage plans do cover mechanical breakdowns, but not regular maintenance (other than oil changes we do pay for) or wear and tear items. That helps keep the cost of the coverage affordable. The idea is simple and sound. You can plan for regular maintenance and replacement of wear and tear items (like tires, windshield wipers and similar items). It is impossible to know when your vehicle will break down and leave you stranded. That's why this coverage is so important. That is also why the coverage was able to save you $650.00 on the repair on the mechanical components, but not on the other items.

I have a Buick Rainier which I paid for $1,400 but I’ve already put about $3,000 worth of repairs into this car beforehand. It was bought by a private owner and they had put a custom alarm in it which caused more problems than anything positive about it. There was some distortion and mildew build-up in one of the plugs and it caused my vehicle to go into theft protection and it automatically shut off on me. I paid $800 for a new CPU unit because it fried the brain. This was a big issue and it was one of the things that made me want to try the Protect My Car warranty because if something like that happened again, I would have some way of covering it. Also, the repair coverage comes in handy because I’m on a really tight budget right now.
The warranty is only $90 a month which is a little bit over my budget right now. But it’s gonna cover any distance I got for any tow service I need and a large portion of any fees that I gotta pay for repairs. In the long run, it’s gonna pay for itself. But, the timeline when it comes to the payment plan is a little bit sketchy for me. I get paid every two weeks and usually, Protect My Car wants the payment by the 30th. I don’t get paid on that week so I gotta always do it the week before or a week and a half after.
I had an oil change in July. I told the guy at the oil place about Protect My Car and he said, "Well, I can't do anything 'cause I have no idea what's going on with that and I don't know if that will be covered by us". He was taking precautions by not taking any information because it could have been a fraudulent situation on his behalf. He didn’t want to take that chance and get screwed over, which I could understand. I contacted Protect My Car and let them know about it. They said that they will review my claim and find out what was going on. I gave them the phone number of the guy and the location of the place. 30 days after the review, I got my money back. I would recommend Protect My Car.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car. Glad to have you.

Protect My Car sounded like a good deal, so I went with them. Their vehicle protection specialists were professional and knowledgeable. I used them once, and they could not do what they said they could not do. I love them because they do not blow smoke. When I took my vehicle to the shop, the process was smooth and quick. My experience with this warranty provider was great.

My car is an older model vehicle and it was getting up in the mileage. I wanted to make sure I had some coverage warranty on it in case something goes wrong with my motor, air conditioner, transmission, and other minor things. Protect My Car reps have been up to par. When I called in and needed some assistance, they assisted me. So everything has been going good. It is a good quality to have, especially if you got a older model vehicle and your manufacturer warranty has ran out on it. It could, however, be a little cheaper. Still, I already recommended them and it is a good thing I referred it to my father-in-law in Atlanta.

Thank you, too, for referring folks to us. We will treat them with just as much respect as we do you.

I have a Honda Accord and I'd like to get a lot of miles of it, so I got an extended coverage from Protect My car. I've filed a claim with them and it went well. I went there, gave my customer number, and they put it in the system. The lady got in touch with everybody and they received their money. It was good on my part. However, I cancelled it last because because I got a better offer. While Protect My Car is good, I did not like that I pay so much down and they only pay half of the cost. With this coverage I got now, their monthly bill is a little bit more but they pay all.

Thank you for your comments. we are glad that you found coverage more to your liking. Most vehicle owners whose vehicles have more than 180,000 miles, like yours, are either unable to qualify for coverage, or find that the coverage is restricted to only a very few components of their vehicle.
Our coverage provides a savings on repair costs of 50%, pays for oil changes and roadside assistance and towing and does all that for a very low monthly cost. It saves a ton of money for those folks who are on a tight budget and need to keep their vehicles up and running without having to worry about repairs that are just too expensive for their budget.
We do thank you for trying the program and we hope that the alternate coverage you found works out for you.

Protect My Car was the first provider that called me and the first one that said they would do the job. They were really nice and they explained the benefits and the claim process very well. The claim process was good. Everything was ready. I took advantage of the oil change and I also had to call them and unlock my car. I locked myself out and my battery died. I didn't have to pay any money out of my pocket so that was good. I also like the coverage that's offered in my contract. I pay half and they pay half so that's good too.

Our goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide that.

The protection specialist and I had a quite good conversation, spending an hour and half on the phone. It was a tough negotiation, but I wanted to make sure I had any major repairs covered. There were two repairs in the old truck that had to be done. One was a power steering hose that had to be replaced and the other one was back in spring. I was surprised the power steering hose was covered. It was a $300 bill, and I paid 150 bucks. I gave the phone number to the shop, and the shop called them, and Protect My Car covered it. So, I’m quite satisfied with them. I only had to pay half of both repairs. The coverage worked exactly as they described it to me. The process was as simple as they described to me, too. I got what I felt was a very good price.
The truck has got 118,000 miles on it and I was worried if the transmission or the engine goes out because that would be a huge bill. So, if I have a major repair like that, it will pay for the coverage in one job. I paid $3,096 for three years coverage, and so far, I have used about $275. I used to be a mechanic, so I was very familiar with how car repair industry works. So, you have to know what you are talking about because they are very knowledgeable and thorough. Also, they did not try to cheat me or lie to me. It took a while, but we came to a price we could agree on. If I were talking to another mechanic, or another person in the industry, and I had time to explain the situation to them, then I would definitely recommend them. Overall, I’m happy with the experience.

I purchased Protect My Car because a lot of people talk highly about it. But when I purchased it, they didn't explain to me what it really covers. I was told it's gonna cover everything. Their rep was not being honest with me. He only wanted to sell me and get a buy. And of course, women don't know too much about cars. So, when I needed something fixed, I called and they told me, "Well, it doesn't cover this and that." Also, I drive a Mini Cooper and I just can't take it to any mechanic. It has to be a special one for Mini Cooper. When they told me that I could take my car to whoever I want to, I took my car to my mechanic and they didn't wanna pay him. And the work came out to so much money. They were low-balling my mechanic and that's the other thing I didn't like. I was very disappointed. So I cancelled it. It was a very, very bad experience. They should have explained to me what was gonna be covered and what was not going to be covered.

We regret that you had a negative experience with Protect My Car. Having reviewed the recording of the sales call, we cannot agree that the agent was not honest with you. We do understand how, over time, it may be difficult to remember the conversation accurately. That is just one reason why the coverage booklet is written in clear, unambiguous terms. It lets you know exactly what is covered and what is not covered. Our customer service team is likewise available to answer any questions you may have.
You can take your vehicle to any mechanic you choose to use, as long as the mechanic works in a licensed facility. We want to make sure that the shops that work on our customer's vehicles are licensed and have the training to do the right repair, and that they will issue and stand behind a warranty for the work they do. That is for your protection. Also, we do not low ball repair shops. What we do is make sure that the shop is not overcharging a customer who, like you, doesn't know much about cars. Thanks again for your comments.

I bought a car and I wanted to get the extended warranty for it. I purchased Protect My Car but now I wanted to get out of it because they misled me when I signed in on them. They told me I would get my car fixed and that I didn’t have to pay for it. So, I took my car to the shop and I got good service there, but I had to pay half of the repair cost. I wouldn’t recommend a friend for Protect My Car anymore. With Protect My Car, I pay every month and then I still gotta pay half to get my car fixed. Which is still good but I wanna get it where I just gotta pay $100 to get it fixed. So, I’m gonna go with another company wherein I'll only have a $100 deductible, and they’ll fix everything on the car.

Thank you for your comments. We did review the recording of the sales call and we found that the agent made it very clear that the coverage reduces your repair costs for mechanical breakdowns by half. We regret that you thought otherwise. That's why the coverage booklet lets you know right up front that your deductible for repairs is a flat 50%.
One problem with those $100 deductible policies is that it is extremely hard to find on that you vehicle will qualify for since it is over 10 years old and has more than 100,000 miles on it. If you do find one, the components it will cover will likely be very limited. Still, we wish you success in your search.
One other thing to consider, with this coverage you paid in less than $400.00 over the five months you kept it, and saved over $1,600.00 in repair costs, oil changes and road side assistance. Not a bad deal by any means but we do regret that you found the coverage somehow not to your liking.

The warranty from Protect My Car looked like a good program. So I figured rather than paying all of these crazy out-of-pocket expenses, let me go get something that’s gonna help the cost. My experience signing up was okay but I thought that my out-of-pocket expense would be maybe half of what the repairs would cost. It wound up costing me more than half when I had an alternator put on. The price was $600 and something and I wound up paying $200 and something of that.
I also had to go through a series or verifications because they needed all of these information, including tax ID, of the mechanic that I used to repair my car. For some information, he had to inquire from the City of Newark and it wasn’t in a real timely fashion but they must have finally got things settled because I went back to my mechanic about three weeks ago and he didn’t make any complaints. So he must have got his money.

Thank you for your comments. On the alternator repair, the shop you chose to use quoted a total replacement price of $613.71. Had the shop agreed to use the same part we would ship to them the total cost would have only been $481.50. You, our customer and their customer, had the right to accept their price, and to simply pay the difference in the cost. You certainly have the right to pay the shop you choose to use more than you would otherwise have to. We have fund that some shops will increase their prices dramatically when they know a company like ours will be paying the bill. We work for you, not the shop and we will never let a customer be taken advantage of in this way. However, as the customer, you always have the right to make that decision.

I was trying to call my insurance company, but I hit the wrong button and I ended up talking with Protect My Car. At the time, I was kinda in the situation where it made sense to get an extended warranty for my car, so I decided to go with it. I have them for five months now and so far, I've submitted claims for a whole bunch of stuff that needed to be done.
The vehicle got messed up initially during one of the floods. We didn't get flooded out, but my wife decided to go turn the vehicle into a boat and go through this big puddle of water. The spark plug got rusted in, so they had to get it out, then they bored it out and put another one in. But it created a compression issue and the space was changed. When they hooked it up to the diagnostic, it was saying that, "You need to do this, ", and they would do that but then it wouldn't fix the problem. So, they were saying, "You have to do this," and still, that didn't fix the problem. The things that they were doing were things that were needed, but they were not gonna fix the compression issue. They were just doing everything that they could to try to make it run more smoothly, but there's nothing that you can do for a compression issue. So that's why we're at square one.
Right now, my vehicle is still not performing like it should have been and it's not in the condition that I would think I would be able to drive it every day to work. And when I spoke with the tech from Protect My Car, we both agreed that the people were kinda pulling for straws. What they were doing wasn't gonna remedy the issue and they were trying to just put band-aids on it. Other than that, the necessary claims were denied and I had to pay my portion of the expenses.
In my situation, purchasing an extended warranty was necessary. My truck was not a newer truck and I would drive it a lot. So I figured it would make sense for me to have that. However, I'm not even driving the truck now and I'm still paying for the warranty. Also, towards the end of my claim, I couldn't really get a hold of the guy that was helping me. Whenever I was able to talk to him, he was a lot of help. He was very insightful and knowledgeable. But he just disappeared.

Well go to the atm we have 85.67 missing from the bank. Tried to get a Hold of them that night. They're closed so call back the next morning and asked for the policy to be cancelled and have so much hassle of questions of why and what are we going to do if our car breaks down. I didn't call to get questioned. I called to get my money back y'all stole. Learn how to run your business better. Your representatives are smartasses.

Thank you for your comments. We did check the recording of the telephone call to confirm, once again, that proper authority was provided by your husband to debit the account the required down payment. That down payment was refunded to you at your request and the coverage was therefore never issued.
Since your husband provided the personal information required to debit your account, including the account information and permission to complete the debit, we can hardly agree with your conclusion about the transaction. Perhaps it is best left for the two of you to handle by yourselves.

When I signed up for Protect My Car, I'm pretty sure I gave the guy permission to deduct $25 or $50 out of my account to get both of the cars started. But this month, I looked at my bill on the 1st of the month and they had already taken the payment out of my account. That threw my account in a negative. I spoke to a guy named Jay and he was telling me that I gave this guy permission to do this. I'm pretty sure I did for that first initial fee he told me that he needed to take. But as far as the rest of the month, I told him I do not want anybody taking anything out of my account. He told told me they could work that out 'cause I told him if they would have to take it out of my account, I could go with somebody else.
I asked Jay for the recording that I gave this guy permission to do that. He played me a little bit of the recording but I told him, “To me, it might be something missing, but I'm pretty sure I told this guy the same thing I'm telling you." He told me with the length of time or the memory lapse, I coulda forgotten. But I don't think I'm gonna forget telling somebody not to take something out of my account. I asked him if I can get that recording sent out and he told me that normally, they don't even go back to let the customers get that. One more thing, he said it was non-refundable and I said, "How are you guys gonna take my money out of my account then tell me it's non-refundable?"
I'm trying these guys so I'm gonna give them another shot. But they're gonna get fired for real if I will have the same problem come around the first. I'm gonna let them go then go back to where I was at first 'cause I didn't have this problem. But as far as the cost, Protect My Car was pretty reasonable though it was a little higher than what I had. As far as using it, I've only used it one time and they took care of the tire and the lube. But as far as the major parts, hopefully, I'll never have to use them as far as my car breaking down.

I had a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, and I’ve heard mostly bad things about those cars. I looked at a couple of warranties, and the one that most people recommended was Protect My Car. I looked at their website and it had a beautiful design. It had a lot of numbers to call so it was hard to figure out where to call, but I got some quotes. One of the financial advisers was able to bring me a discount from 100 or so down to 80 something a month, which was great for an Ambassador Elite program. So, I found that very helpful. Purchasing was a fairly easy and streamlined process. It was just a matter of getting some information, and it didn’t take very long. The reps told me a little bit about the process, how to go through it and different links with different resources that I can use for that. They sent me emails so I was able to figure out if I need to file a claim or have any questions.
I have not needed to file a claim, as it’s only been a matter of using Protect My Car for the discount of half the cost of any repair, which is fantastic. The first oil change I had, the garage I decided to go to was offering a decent price in oil change. But I couldn’t use the warranty because Protect My Car couldn’t accept credit cards over the phone. That was a little bit of a downer, but I was amazed that they actually refunded the entire price of the oil change. Their service is definitely great quality, and they have great people to speak with. You understand them very well, and they really take the time to explain everything to you. I've asked them if I could choose to get them again for another car to get peace of mind, and they said yes. It might not be the same discount, but it’s definitely the same service.

To be safe on the financial side, I got a service contract for my vehicle and ended up with Protect My Car. I was trying to call another institution, but for whatever reason, my call ended up on Protect My Car's office. And then, their guy did a good job selling me the product. I’ve been thinking of selling the truck, so I called and told them that I wanted to the cancel the policy. I spoke with the supervisor that works on the cancellation, and she gave me a little discount on my monthly payment.
One of the reasons why I also wanted to cancel at that time was that I had an issue and the mechanic said he placed a claim but never got an answer from Protect My Car. My truck was at the shop for one week, and not having a response, I paid on my own. I was promised that if I send the paperwork Protect My Car would pay me, but the only time that I have access to the computer is at home. I spend so many days outside, and when I get home, I have a lot of stuff that I have to take care of.
Now, they cover almost everything, but what they could do is be like another type of car insurance, where you have only the basic liability, then you have a collision, and then you have a full cover. Depending on the level that you pay and that is what's gonna be covered. That would be good for the customer because somebody might say, “Okay. No, I just want lubricated part.” And so, the payment is gonna be a little less.

In the end, I had to cancel the service because I was able to get someone else to jump the cable for me. Protect My car told me they were not able to find anybody available at that time.
I was not really happy about that because my husband wasn’t able to get out of work at that time. He also got there before the people I called got there. I called Protect My Car and they told me I can go to my own mechanic, but I had no idea who so they just recommended people that they dealt with before in the past. And I was like, "Well, that seems to be the best way to go." The rep gave me a guy in the area that could handle the job and I had him tow my car over there and had it fixed within a few days. A week later, I had my car back after I sent Protect My Car the credit card information. It was pretty simple. They told me to send them 1,600 bucks, and then I was at my way down the road with my car.
Protect My Car was straightforward. The people that I've talked to where I had to have my transmission fixed said that the other outfits' customer service takes forever. What Protect My Car is doing is instead of spending seven hours on the phone wasting the mechanic's time, they give you the estimate and have you deal with it. The customer is able to communicate with them better than the mechanics are. It's an easier transition if they let the customer do the work because some guys say that it was a big hassle for them. They are mechanics and they make pretty good money.
It's kinda stupid to drive around without Protect My Car, especially if you live in a rural area where you don't have a whole lot of Jiffy Lubes and gas stations and everything else around you when you're kind of out here. And the other thing too is they give you the 12 months, 12,000-mile warranty. It's a good feeling when you're driving an older vehicle to have that sense of security.

Please call us anytime you have any questions or if there is any thing we can do to help out.

Everything’s been great with my experience with Protect My Car. I have a new Cadillac and a couple of other cars that the warranty came in from the manufacturer. So, when I purchased a truck without one, I reached out to sign one. Protect My Car had a great reputation and their prices were pretty competitive. They’ve been fine. The process was relatively simple when I submitted a claim. There was a little bit of a delay though. It was like a Wednesday of one week and they were saying that they were going to ship the part, but then they didn’t get back to me until Tuesday of the following week, saying that they were missing some information. So, that was a little bit not great, but other than that, once we straightened that out, they got the part out and the guys fixed my truck and they paid them. So, other than that little week of delay, everything’s been great.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you again for your very encouraging comments.

I decided to go with Protect My Car because of the maintenance plan that they have and the roadside assistance. The rep that helped me through the policy was pretty cool. He helped me out on getting some discounts on it and he gave me his personal direct line number. Making a claim was easier than I thought. They said I had to do the inspections and then the company I was going with was supposed to call them. Also, I was supposed to get a discount on my maintenance but they paid for the whole maintenance plan. I wasn’t expecting that but that was pretty nice.
They have this thing online that gives a small discount on other items. I don’t really understand that. And I have such a huge banking net but it doesn't let me use all my banks in there, which I don't like. But other than that, having this policy, I feel pretty good if I were to get into any roadside help, running out of gas or flat tires or anything like that, although I'm not sure if it's 24 hours.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect My Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.
Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is any way we can help.

I always wanna have a car warranty with me because you never know when your car is gonna have a problem and you don’t have money at that time to fix it. Being a student and a parent, I just wanna always have a car running. The rep at Protect My Car made it clear and very nice, and they’re very prompt with everything. I have not experienced a problem. I go to a dealer, they call them, everything goes smooth and okay. Something was happening to my car and they had to take the belt out. I paid for it except the oil change. They covered a portion. And what I paid is what all I had. I’m just grateful they paid the oil change. I like to have this kind of experience. People are nice and I will recommend them.

Thank you very much for those comments. We really appreciate them. We do work hard to make sure that with one phone call you can get towed in, activate rental car benefits and get fast, efficient claims service, all with low monthly premiums tailored to fit your budget. That’s what we call good peace of mind. We are very happy that our company, staff and coverage has given you that. Best of all, we will be here to assist you when you next need help with your vehicle. Thanks again for your comments.
