My vehicle was fairly new and I don’t drive it a lot but I got a lot of money on it so I didn’t want anything to happen to it. I couldn’t pay for them all so it would be better for me to get a protection program. I looked up Protect My Car online and they seemed to be very reputable and dealing with the rep was pretty good. I went straight to the dealership for the claim and let the dealership call them and tell them what was wrong. At one time though, it took too long for them to get back with me and the people fixing my car. And it was held up for a while but then it got approved. That happened twice even if I paid the required half of the money.
The claims process wasn’t as expedient as it should be for a reputable company as well as the communication. They said they kept calling the company, but they kept busy or on hold. Also, the same person wouldn't call them back and it took a long time for them to get with the right person to get it approved, even after he's given him the claim number and how much it cost. I couldn’t get my car until they got in touch with me and my car sat there a day or two longer than it should have. I pay a certain amount of money each month and it is long-term so, I should get the same type of expedient service. It should also be a little bit cheaper. But I feel good about having an insurance and security from it and it’s a good program.

Purchasing an auto warranty makes sense to have some peace of mind. And the Protect My Car rep was helpful in getting me started on my policy. He is well yet a little charismatic to be professional. However, I've spoken with the customer service plenty times, and they were inconsistent with everything. I even tried canceling the subscription, and they said, "Okay." And then they called for payment. I tried to take someone's name off with the policy at one point. And they said, "Okay." And they still kept it on there. It's been really a back and forth from the canceling to the constantly calling me for another payment.
I filed a claim for our Mercedez when its transmission went out. And everything fell all through with the claim. They were trying to find a cheaper part for it at some point, so it was a little stagnant. But they executed the claim and all was well besides the obvious phone calls. And there were no communications with the status or the car with the communication that they had with the dealer. They left me a little in the blank because they had to establish communications with me and the person who released the car who put it in there.

If you have any questions, of course, please give us a call.

My auto warranty ran out and I needed one in case of a mechanical breakdown that was out of control. ProtectMyCar has good rates and the sales person I dealt with was knowledgeable, very polite, courteous, very thorough, and explained everything. He just got right to the point. I made a claim over the phone and they didn’t honor the warranty on the repair. I spoke with a rep about the coverage that I had at the experience of mechanical problems, and I was told that it was a preexisting condition that I knew I had and that’s why I purchased insurance. They didn’t know why I purchased insurance because I didn’t have a preexisting condition. So, they transferred me over to some other plan that they had with the 75 percentage pay and the maintenance at 25%, and I had a problem with that. Other than that, the quality of service of ProtectMyCar is good overall and I would recommend them.

Coverage is meant to assist with repairs that occur after the policy is issued. No company will issue a policy that covers pre-existing conditions.
But, we always give the customer the benefit of the doubt. That is why we were able to help you even with that pre-existing condition you were unaware of. Its all part of doing the right thing, not just doing things right.
Thanks you for choosing Protect My Car, and thank you for your comments.

I heard an advertisement for Protect My Car on the radio, so I called to see if I qualified. I did, so I set it up on the spot. Everything was great and everybody was helpful. However, when I first started my policy, I didn’t know I was going to get sent over to a third party. I don’t know if it’s because my car has higher miles, but I was told that Protect My Car wouldn’t deal with my claim and they sent me over to someone else. When I would call, it would go to Protect My Car, but they would send me over to someone else.
Protect My Car still got me taken care of, but they only covered 50%. When I first started, they said that they could cover anywhere between 50% and 100%. And when they sent it over to the other company, they said it was only 50%. I still had to pay $3300 out of pocket on top of paying the $80 a month. They emailed me a little booklet, but what I needed was coverage and the amount that was covered was a little bit of a surprise. But 50% was better than nothing. Overall, it was a decent experience. I still have my policy and it’s worth it if you have an older car since there's no way of knowing what repairs you're going to need. If I had a new car, I would certainly not do it.

With older, higher mileage vehicles, it is almost impossible to get any coverage at all. we are one of the few companies that offer help with these vehicles. Not only do you get a guaranteed 50% reduction in repair costs, but oil changes, road side assistance and rental car reimbursement is included.
You might be happy to know that on just this one repair you saved $1,300. That's more than three times the cost of the coverage you have paid. We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you increase your savings in the future.

I bought a service contract for my Ford from ProtectMyCar and they gave me a better price compared to other companies. But when I was purchasing the warranty they were charging me too much. I asked them some specific questions. It seemed they were not really clear. At the beginning, I did not understand the system. I did not know I had to pay half, to pay them. I thought I can pay the dealer where I brought my car to fix. They asked me I had to pay them first.
We had some arguments but now everything is okay. And that includes anytime I talk to them. Everything is perfect for me for now. I filed a claim with them twice for repair. I called them and told them the car has a problem and they asked me to take the car to a shop. The service is excellent. Let' say, I have to pay $200. They put half and I'm satisfied. I will say this is the best way if your car is old. To buy some protection outside of what you have on your insurance.

Thank you very much for those comments. We really appreciate them. We do work hard to make sure that with one phone call you can get towed in, activate rental car benefits and get fast, efficient claims service, all with low monthly premiums tailored to fit your budget. That’s what we call good peace of mind. We are very happy that our company, staff and coverage has given you that. Best of all, we will be here to assist you when you next need help with your vehicle. Thanks again for your comments.

Purchasing a service contract for my car seemed like the right thing to do and I thought Protect My Car had a good deal so I went with them. Their agents were very helpful, informative, and got the policy set up for me. The specialists I worked with were also knowledgeable. I discussed with them what I was looking for and what I wanted then we came with the decision on the plan. When I had a claim, filing it was easy enough and they provided a pretty good and quick service. However, I saw a cheaper policy with more benefits. So I called and cancelled my purchase with Protect My Car. Then, a couple of months down the line, they told me that I was still protected and tried to charge me for it. I reminded them that I cancelled the policy and in the end, they finally got that straightened out. So I'd advise others to be careful when cancelling their policy with Protect My Car.

Again, thank you for your comments.

I had an older vehicle and Protect My Car was an offer that was given and that was okay. I gave them the mileage of my vehicle and my vehicle information. Then, they were saying that it would cover half of labor and half of parts but I was disappointed when I used it recently for the tire rods. They didn’t communicate well with the auto repair guys and I paid half of what was originally agreed. After I paid my portion, there was a dispute on how much the warranty was going to pay the repair guy and they ended up paying less than what I’ve paid so I got screwed. Even the repair guy said it was messed up. I was thinking of cancelling because if I paid more, they should have reimbursed me the difference and nobody even bothered to give me a phone call. That was really shady of the company.
The specialist gave me a decent monthly payment that I had to make for the warranty but the only contact that I had with the warranty people was when they called to collect the payment for my portion of it. Everything else was handled in between the repair people and the warranty company and they were going back and forth on the dispute. I needed the vehicle because I was going to have a baby in the next week. The repair guys said they were waiting to hear back from the warranty people before they could move forward and so it took a while.

You shop also replaced the brake pads and performed regular maintenance items as well. These are wear and tear/maintenance items not covered under the mechanical breakdown coverage you have. That is why you had to pay an additional amount.
We are glad that this one repair saved you over $900. That's three times the amount you have paid in premiums to date. That is why this coverage is so important.
Thank you for your comments and for being a valued customer.

Their representative helped me good during the purchase of the warranty and told me about everything that was and wasn't covered. When I made a claim, I took my car to the dealership. After the dealership figured out what was wrong with my car, ProtectMyCar wrote down what’s covered and what’s not then they came to me with the price of what they cover. I was having issues with the maintenance on the car at the time and Protect My Car reached out to me. They gave me full details on everything as far as the amount that I would have to pay, and who to contact in billing or if I have other questions. It was no hassle filing the claim, except for the second time I used it. The Protect My Car that I use is based out of Florida, and it was a little hectic my second time filing a claim. But it was also when they were having the heavy rain, and they were closed. So I just went on and paid out of pocket. And they did not give me any hassle at all and they still reimbursed me because they knew that they were closed. So, it was still a good experience.
When I first reached out to Protect My Car, I was not 100% sure with them. But when I used them for the first time, I felt a lot better knowing that it was not a scam, and it's a good warranty. So, I feel good about it. Their coverage is great. I just pay half of whatever expenses on some of the items. They don't cover all repairs, but for the ones that I've had done, it was good. I feel a little more relieved and comfortable knowing that I have the coverage. I love it, and I've been recommending it to people.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car and for your very encouraging comments.

I purchased a service contract for my vehicle to help me keep the cost down on repairs. There’s a certain miles that one has on their vehicle for the warranty company to accept, and ProtectMyCar accepted the miles I have. Their representatives have done everything in a very professional manner. They made me feel more like they are the best warranty to get. They went step by step with me on how ProtectMyCar works and what benefits I have with them. So far, I've been able to get oil changes but it was a little bit too much. Once I’ve filed the claim, whatever shop I go to, they explain the estimate on the repairs, then they may give a rough estimate on how much I need to pay them once the warranty company knows what’s going on. And then they will go ahead and go along with the claim and get everything started. So, overall, ProtectMyCar’s service is good.

I've had my car since 2006 and I had put a new transmission in it. So I went ahead and got a little more protection with it. As far as the knowledge side of the representatives, everything just came off of the computer 'cause I could hear them typing a lot and if I had questions they had to almost research it throughout the policy. And as far as the price range that I was looking for, it wasn’t very helpful either. The first quote that I received was a little bit on the pricey side so I denied it. But they called back in three weeks with a better offer that was 70% cheaper so I had that one. It could still be a little cheaper, but everyone has to make a living. They are insuring other people's vehicles blindly without doing their own check and it is a risk. Nonetheless, I've been extremely happy.
The first time I had a claim was a smooth process. I called them to tell them I put my car in the shop and to check out what was the procedure. They said to take it to the shop and have the shop call them. I took my car to the dealership thinking it was just gonna be my tire rod but it happened to be a whole lot more. The guy asked me if was sure because the repair was almost half the value of the car. I told him I have auto insurance and he said, "Oh, great. No problem." They called me in three hours, wanting me to put half down, and my auto was fixed the same day. So I actually love it. The service is great and I will strongly recommend ProtectMyCar. My car's on a roll and the sense of security is phenomenal. It's because of them that I'm driving back and forth to work, and taking out my family. I've driven it to Texas twice and New Orleans, as well as 18 trips to New York and it's still running good.

I had an auto warranty on my other vehicle that was through the dealer and it expired. I also bought a used vehicle in addition to the vehicle we had and I needed a warranty. I found ProtectMyCar and I’m only six months into it but so far, so good. I’ve had two claims and they were awesome. I was barely into the contract and it wasn’t even in on the 30-day period and they had a problem with one of my vehicles but they took care of it. Although per the conditions of the contract it was only 25% instead of 50 but they honored it with no problems. There should be a little bit more coverage but so far I’m pleased.
I feel secure that I have a warranty because when I bought my vehicle used, it was a 15-year-old vehicle with relatively low mileage for the year. The vehicle was very clean and it was a Ford dealership but they would not offer me an extended warranty due to the age of the vehicle. Thus, I found ProtectMyCar thinking just in case later on down the road if something happens, I’m protected. And lo and behold, three months later the engine breaks out. ProtectMyCar covered half and the dealer half of what I owe due to the recent sale. I hope I don’t have any more problems but if I do, I feel confident with ProtectMyCar as they will be there as they have been. The reps were great and helped me out right away. I followed what they needed and they followed what they had to do and it was not a problem at all. I'm pleased with the service and I would tell friends to give them a shot.

My boyfriend has Protect My Car and he told me about it so I decided to give it a shot and it's a great service to get. The process to purchase the warranty was fine, quick and easy. The certified vehicle protection specialist answered all my questions and gave me the lowest rate that I could get. First, she asked me if I would pay $100 something and I told her no and that that was too much. Then she got me down to $59 and some change upfront.
I called them one time to file a claim. the process was fine but I never got a receipt from either Protect My Car or the shop where I got the repair done. But I guess it's just here and there 'cause the work has been done. Protect My Car told me that the shop is supposed to give me the receipt but they never gave me one. Also, you have to come up with money for the work but it's a good thing that you don't have to come up with the full amount. At least it's half. The coverage is great and I'm satisfied with it.

You should have received a receipt for the payments by now. If not, please call our customer service department and we will help you out.

I like the free oil changes that come with my Protect My Car warranty. I just had my oil changed a week and a half ago, and it didn't cost me anything. A month after I decided to purchase my warranty, all of a sudden, I started having troubles with my vehicle. I've done mechanical work myself in the past. And I know what different things cost. And I thought it would be great if they would pay for maybe a small amount of that. But I never realized that the one I purchased actually pays for 50% of the total cost. So I thought, "Well hey, that's great. Why should I get my hands dirty and do the work myself when I can just send it to an auto repair shop and had them do the work and it's only going to cost me half of the total cost." The power steering went out and they paid half of the total cost. And then four weeks after that, my transmission went. And the protection worked out great.
Protect My Car's customer service people were great. The second time I called was when my transmission went and I had gone over to my sister's house and parked in her horseshoe driveway. But after I parked my car, I went back out to move it again because they were expecting a delivery, but it wouldn't start at all. I thought it was just the starter. They just needed maybe to smack it with a hammer or the solenoid might kick in, and I know I would just replace the starter. But, it was the transmission. When I called Protect My Car about that, the first thing I wanted to know was if I was in a safe area. They sent a tow truck to pick up my car and then they called me back to let me know that the tow truck broke down but they were sending another guy to tow my vehicle. Then he got there with his pickup and he was towing a trailer to get my car up on to. So they were great that way. They all want to know if I was in the safe area.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car. we are glad the coverage has helped you so much. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help out.

My car is a 2005 and it’s paid for and I’d like to keep it for about another year or so before I trade it in. I have used a different provider before but when that ran out, I didn’t have any warranty on it for about a year and anything that went wrong cost me a fortune. So, I shopped around and asked questions. I like that Protect My Car would pay half of all of the service and I’d pay half, which was savings to me so I went with them. Their reps were great. They did what they said that they’d do. They seemed honest which is hard to do these days.
However, it took them a little while to get back every time I called. One time, there was something wrong with my car at GMC and the service fee was $2,000. I had to pay $1,000 and Protect My Car had to pay $1,000. It took them almost three weeks to get back to us as far as what they would pay and my portion. That’s the only thing I’m disappointed in. Other than that, everything is fine. It's great to know that my car is fixed and I’m going to be safe. Protect My Car is great. Other than the fact they’re slow when it comes to paying, I’m pleased with them.

Your coverage guarantees a 50% reduction off the shops original estimate. We do that through negotiating lower prices, getting a better price on parts and other means. We make up any difference in payments directly to the shop. You can always count on your final bill being 50% or less that the original estimate.
For your added protection, we will not pay the shop until the work is done and they have provided a final invoice to us and you have authorized the payment. Once that occurs, we pay the shop in full for the repair with a corporate credit card that same day. Sometimes the shop does not provide those documents timely. That will hold up payment and once that is explained to the shop, we get the final invoice and authorization and issue payment that same day.
Please let us know any time you have any questions. and thanks again for your comments.

Other companies have approached me about the extended warranty and I even looked into it a few years ago when I had a used car, but I didn't like their terms. But when I saw ProtectMyCar and found out their terms were different than what I had been told by the other companies in the past. The others told me that the warranty would be around $90 to $110 a month, but ProtectMyCar only asked me for $25 to start with and then my monthly payment would be around $64. That was reasonable enough and then the rep told me that the first thing that I should do was to get an oil change because I get three free ones every year.
So I got an oil change and then within a week, I started having problems with my car. We found out that the oil was pouring out and every time I got in the car, we would put a quarter of oil on it and by the time I got to some place, it was just all over. So I needed to get a whole new engine. One mechanic that I used for years told me that the warranty insurance would not cover it. When I took the car back to the dealership, they called ProtectMyCar and they said they would pay for half of it and part of the rental because the dealership had the car for about a week. And all I had paid them at that point was $25.
When I got my car back, it ran fine. But then I had a light that was coming on the dashboard. I drove to my friend's place and I noticed two spots in her driveway right between the front tires. So two spots from my car was leaking, so I called the dealership and they looked over it and said that it needed a seal. They put that in, and they told me that they were in touch with ProtectMyCar and they said they were covering it. So I walked out of there and didn’t pay anything. That was pretty good.

I needed a bit more coverage on my vehicle. I drive an expensive car so I purchased a service contract to protect it as I always get lots of services. I wanted to try out Protect My Car and see how it was. Their rep was really good and explained everything to me. He told me that the plan would cover everything such as oil changes and over half of my vehicle. We agreed on everything and I convinced my husband to get the policy.
I thought Protect My Car would be protecting me and would be able to take care of my car. One time, I got the BMW oil changed. But I don’t need the plan anymore because I don't have the car, so I called them several times to cancel. I had a bad ordeal whoever that woman that I spoke to was. She told me I couldn't cancel and she was rude. I feel very dissatisfied with Protect My Car since my money was taken off my card. I didn't even have my car serviced and I just want my money back. They also told me they'd call me about it but I never got a callback.

You took the coverage out in late November and paid your premiums through February. When you called us in March to cancel the policy you let us know at that time that you had not owned the vehicle since December. That was surprising since all of the claims you filed on the vehicle were also in December.
In any event, we could not refund the premiums you paid in before you let us know that you no longer owned the vehicle. Thank you, though for your comments.

I wanted a luxury vehicle and I wanted to have something in case something goes wrong because the parts are expensive. I filed the claim for a vehicle repair dealing with my motor and when my truck had to go into the shop, they paid what they were supposed to pay. But I had to pay $1,700 before they paid their part. Plus they lied to me about what’s on the contract. If as long as you pay it up, you’re supposed to get your $90 back for reimbursement on a rental car, so I got a rental car. But when I called and filled in all the paperwork to let them know I had a rental car, they told me that they couldn’t give me my $90 back until my bill was paid in full. But my bill was paid in full. Yet they made me wait almost two months before they gave me my $90 back. That's the only thing I don't like about them.
They tell you lies all the time. For the whole time, I talked to two nice people but the rest of them were rude. They didn’t know how to talk to anybody. They would call and hang up on your face. And they don't like to give anybody a break. They call all through the day and it's awful. I'm a single parent but they don't care. I have paid my whole country club and I told them that I need a little extension so I can try to stay on track. But they jacked the prices up after they gave me a good price at first. I was really pissed off by that one. I didn’t know where I would get that type of money from and when I called them to ask what the reason was, they really couldn't explain it to me. I was thinking about leaving them and trying to find someone else but everybody that I had talked to had higher prices.

The specialists I dealt with were very informative, and they explained to me the process. However, what they explained to me initially is not actually what I've had to experience. I have had two different claims I put in, and when I had the claims put in, what they basically did is someone had to pay for 50% of it -- if it's $1,600, I pay $800, they pay $800. But when it has come to them to pay their portion, somehow, they convinced the shop that maybe the price-- the parts are-- or what they charge for the labor should not be that amount. So at the end of the day, they may work me down to maybe $1,400 if they agreed to pay. However, I already paid my 800-dollar portion of what the bill was supposed to be.
Nevertheless, filing a claim is really easy. I go to the shop and the shop guy calls them at their location, they call me on the phone and whatever things we agreed to as far as repairs, they do it, and that's it. I give them my credit card information, they send me the confirmation over email, and I sign it and send it back and we are good. Overall, I would recommend them.

ProtectMyCar called and offered their service contract to me. Their rep told me everything that I would get and made me aware that I needed a warranty for my car, and I agreed to it. Their customer service reps were friendly, courteous, and informative. But the first time I filed a claim, it was confusing what I could and could not get. They said everything was covered when I called them, but I had the work done before it was approved. Then that was when they said some of the stuff wasn’t covered, so I had to pay for those. But the second time I filed a claim went just fine.

I am so happy. I had Protect My Car because I really needed it last month. I was on my way to cousin's wedding and I know it is silly but I ran out of gas on the highway. Protect My Car was amazing. I called them and explained how I was in a rush to get to the wedding. Roadside assistance came out very quickly with gas and helped me get on my way to the wedding. I needed some protection for my vehicle ‘cause of the repair costs and Protect My Car was the only one that came to mind. I submitted a claim by phone and it went well. The reps were friendly, courteous and they answered my questions. They gave me good service overall. I felt somewhat relieved knowing that my car was covered as far as the engine, transmission and electrical components were concerned. However, it didn’t cover the suspension parts of my vehicle, which I thought was important. They didn't do enough for me and I probably wouldn't refer them. I’ve heard of another car protection insurance company called CarShield and I’m thinking about calling them for a price quote sometime soon.

Before you get another policy, give us a call to find out exactly what is covered so that you can compare with other coverages available. We are happy to help in any way we can.

A friend of mine, who works for ProtectMyCar, approached me regarding a service contract for my car, and I thought it was a good deal since I have a 2012 car. On the phone, the specialist gave me the quote and the amount that would be by month and what the coverages were, and that it would be automatically deducted from my account. So I thought it was an easy transaction, and he was informative. I have filed two claims already, and then car reimbursement, too. That was fairly easy except just one time, they had an issue with getting my check out. It went to the accounting department, then they didn't process it on time. So I guess there's some a little bit of disconnect there. I just think that they need to improve on that.
There was also a guy that I usually use, he's a local person in my neighborhood, and it was a very big undertaking for him to use it with ProtectMyCar because it's a small ma and pa shop. So it took him a lot of time to make the call, and send things over, and he doesn’t usually work that way. So I wound up taking my car to BMW the second time around 'cause it was just too much of a hardship with taking too much of his time away from working on cars. But when I took it to BMW, it seemed like they were able to quickly get questions answered and get things taken care of. So I wouldn't really recommend it for people to use for a small ma and pa 'cause they're usually a smaller step and don't have the extra hands to get things done like the customer service department.
My friend also said, "You should let people know that because it's not like a bad thing, it's just smaller businesses just don't have customer service department and things like that to make the phone call when they should be out there working or answering the phone for a customer." Nevertheless, I would do definitely recommend it.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you again for your very encouraging comments.

I have an older vehicle and I know fixing a Volvo is expensive. A friend recommended ProtectMyCar to me and I liked their program then I joined. During the purchase of the warranty, I called them and I questioned their representative and I liked the information he gave. Basically, they take care of the major parts and the engine. Plus, they gave me a towing service with their plan. The coverage of my plan is satisfactory. I then kept the warranty after the trial period.
So far, I have used ProtectMyCar a couple of times and I've had no problems with them. I take my Volvo to the car dealer I deal with and it is the mechanic who files the claim. Overall, ProtectMyCar hasn't led me down astray yet, so I'm good with them. I feel confident knowing that I have them now before something major would have come down and I would have to go all the way out of pocket. I wish I have been introduced to it a long time ago. I have already recommended ProtectMyCar to a couple of people and told them that it's expensive to repair if they have a foreign car. And for me who has an older model, it gets into the pocket when it breaks down.

So, I went back to the dealership and have them refund my money. And then I bought the contract with Protect My Car for my car since it was the first one I ran across with. I just called them and they called me back 15 minutes later. The rep did a rundown of how it works and then, they took care of my issue. All I had to do was have the mechanic call their toll free number and he told them what was going on. The process was simple and I'm very happy with the service. Protect My Car's customer service rep was excellent. It has only been one or two phone calls and they took it from there. I'd recommend Protect My Car. Hopefully, I won't have to use them again. They told me the only thing I had to get though was an extended warranty because it was very important to have coverage. We shopped around and decided to go with Protect My Car because of their great reviews and they had the best policies. I am so glad I had coverage because two weeks ago while I was on my way to school my car broke down. Protect My Car sent a tow truck and towed my car to the local mechanic where I found out my whole transmission needed to be replaced. Luckily I had coverage because I would not have been able to afford a new transmission otherwise. Justin from Protect My Car handled my claim for me and he was so nice and efficient. Then when my truck needed a fix, I needed them to pick my truck up and I wanted to take it to the shop at Deshler, but they told me they were going to charge me $40 for a hook-up. So, I asked them to cancel the tow a truck and picked my truck up by myself. But with all this stuff right, ProtectMyCar’s services are all fine.

I needed a warranty. Somebody from ProtectMyCar called and contacted me. We talked for a while and we desired on a price and I bought into it. The rep was all right. He explained everything when we set up the contract and everything was good. I had a couple of claims and it was not bad filing claims. It was just hard to get things approved with the claims. ‘Cause they go back and forth. And then finally, you have to talk to a supervisor and then he’ll go ahead and approve it. It's insane. I’m trying to get the warranty work done. My car has been in the shop for almost two months now. And the reason why the car is in the shop is not because of the mechanics, it’s because of dealing with ProtectMyCar trying to get them to approve things that they say are covered.
They sent out an inspector and the inspector said, “You need to replace this and that.” And then they told ProtectMyCar. And then they said, “No. We’re not going to replace that." And the inspectors even said, they had a lot of problems talking to the agents that were approving the claims for stuff that needs to be done for my car. And some of them didn’t have any idea of what they were talking about. And then ProtectMyCar said, they would rent a car for me if it was in the shop but, it has been two months now. Are they really going to pay for two months of rental?
So, this most recent claim was about $6,000 altogether. And then they finally agreed. I’ve only paid into their company for nine months now. And after all this trouble, I just might cancel and go with another company. If they don’t want to pay for what’s covered in the warranty, why even sell it? There’s more than just taking money. Maybe they’ve had a bad experience with me because my car is a BMW and it cost more to fix. I’m just through with them. I’m done.

The coverage actually saved you $5,800 in repair costs. That is more than eight times the cost of the coverage. Not a bad deal by any means.
There are some items the coverage does not include, like belts, hoses and other wear and tear items. That was what the claims manager was explaining to you. He also explained that the adjuster was able to get these additional costs covered as well. So all you had out of pocket was the $100 deductible on each repair. Better to write a $100 check than one for $5,800, even if there is some back and forth to get the job done right. Wouldn't you agree?
As far as the rental car reimbursement, as we explained to you, we need you to provide a receipt for the rental car to be reimbursed. So far, you have not been able to do so.
We are very glad that the policy saved you almost $6,000 and that you had to spend only $700 in premiums to save that amount. We hope that on reflection you will see how valuable the coverage has been for you.

I got a service contract for repairs, in case something went wrong with the vehicle. I have had it with Protect My Car for about a year now but I would tell others not to do it. It didn't work good for me. There was too much back and forth. When I made a claim, the shop could never get in touch with the people. Protect My Car would never return the phone calls from the shop and it went weeks before they even contacted me to come to the shop. So it took me forever to try to get my car fixed. And each time I called customer service, there were never any notes. I had to explain everything all over to everybody I called. I didn't like it and it wasn't good.

Thank you for your comments. They are certainly surprising. A review of the claim you filed in April last year shows the claim for the engine repair was approved the same day, that the shop accepted the reduced cost due to the coverage and that on the $7,800 original repair cost the coverage saved you the guaranteed 50%, reducing your repair cost to $3,900. Unfortunately, you were unable to pay your share of the repair cost for several months and that was the reason for the delay. In any case, we thank you for your comments.

The warranty that came with my car expired and when I contacted the dealership, they couldn't extend it. I was told from the dealership that there are companies out there that do extended warranty programs but it’s not exactly the same as what the dealership itself does because they included paying stuff and making some cheap repairs or if any warranty-related stuff happens. They said I could check online and these companies could give me quotes so I decided to look at my options online.
The first time I talked to somebody at Protect My Car was a little off but for the second time, the guy I talked to was really helpful. He walked me through everything, even when I started my claim because I was trying to call back the claims department but I couldn’t reach anyone. I had a little knocking on my engine and the dealership told me there was something wrong with the wall bearings or something in the motor. I called customer service and the guy picked it up and helped me out with almost everything. They said they’ll take care of it and I’d have to pay 50% of it, which I accepted because it was a pretty good help from them instead of me taking the whole thing on my shoulders. I was talking to them while my car was in the shop and they walked me through all the steps or things that I would need to provide or what to expect next. I was pretty happy with the service.
It went pretty well because I was under the impression that it might be like some other insurance company that’ll give me a little hard time. But they didn’t hesitate, make anything up or gave me a hard time. I know if something happens, I have some kind of back-up. I was pretty satisfied so I totally recommend it to other people. I told my girlfriend and a lot of my friends about my experience. Keep up the good work. There are other people out there who might need those like I did.

When I called them a couple of times to speak to them and they were helpful. Submitting a claim was easy but I’m still making payments because I'm on SSI. I couldn't afford the full fee right away and I didn’t expect my portion to be so high. ProtectMyCar said I had to pay for the major parts. The repair is $1,600 altogether and I have to pay $764. I thought that because I made $49 a month payments to ProtectMyCar, that was supposed to cover that. Now I need to find out what that was for if it's not covering my portion of what the mechanic is charging.

Your policy also covers oil changes, road side assistance and rental car reimbursement, all for under $50 per month.

Stay away from Protect My Car. The information they give you is very misleading. The certified vehicle protection specialists seemed knowledgeable of their products somewhat but it was a hard sell pack. I have an older vehicle and I needed to protect my car. They told me the coverage was soup and nuts but that wasn’t the case. It is very subpar to manufacturer warranty and I'm not very happy with it.
They did not work with me or the shop that I was using. I needed the car to be fixed but they were having issues with the shop that I was using. They were saying that all they needed to do was accept the engine and then everything would be fine. They were willing to accept the engine but not at a certain price. The whole thing came down to price. And they kept doing the runaround on it. They would say that they sent me the email or that something needs to be signed. But we never received it so they would send it again. It was like a game of cat and mouse, and I did not appreciate that.
They also kept saying if I pay this, they would pay this. They kept giving a runaround and saying why they didn't want to pay. I had to pay half then I had to pay more out of pocket and basically, I nearly paid out the entire cost. So they didn’t pay what they were supposed to. Basically, I paid for the warranty, the cost of which is greater than what I wanted to pay, and I paid for the repair service. They never paid for my rental either. There was a lot that they had not done. I’m very disappointed with it and I need to cancel this.

Also, as explained to you by the claims agents, we would be happy to reimburse rental car costs once you send us the rental car receipt. You have yet to do so.
Part of the process in achieving savings is negotiating with the shop you choose to use to make sure their costs are in line with industry standards. The shop's labor rate and parts cost were, in our opinion, far higher than they should have been. We were able to get those costs reduced for you as well.
We are very glad the coverage saved you so much money compared to what you actually spent for the coverage.
One final thought. Had you stayed away from Protect My Car, you would have had to spend an additional $1,775 on just that one repair. That is why this coverage is so useful and worthwhile. We hope that after considering these facts, you will see how important this coverage is for you.
Thanks again for your comments.

Having Protect My Car's warranty is a great convenience for sports cars because I drive one. The costs of the repairs are extreme and they provide that leniency for me to be a buyer. There were a lot of scams going on and I was kind of leery about Protect My Car. I wasn’t sure about policies that cover extended warranty so I gave them a call. They explained the policy and I gave it a try because my transmission went down three months prior so I had to do something that was extreme but it was cool.
The rep explained to me that they offered multiple and very affordable policies depending on my income. And I chose the most reasonable policy for me. He explained the coverages, the roadside assistance, the free tire rotations and the oil changes that came with the policy I chose. One time, I called in because I wasn’t sure if I exhausted my free tows. I was told I got two free tows each year so I was confused about that. Their rep provided me every detail I needed for the explanation of what was going on as far as the towing. They did a great job.
I filed a claim for automated and for transmission issues. To start a claim, I had to call PMC before any work would be done on my car in the shop. I would take the car to the repair shop and they would explain to me what was the detail or I would tell them what I thought it was. Before they did any work, they would call Protect My Car to tell them that they had my car and that they want to use the warranty. PMC's service is excellent. However, they should offer more coverage as far as mechanical breakdowns and that the policy could be more detailed as far as explaining the coverages. But I feel great since getting Protect My Car. I know that if there's a mechanical breakdown, they're there. Protect My Car is excellent and you should get their warranty.

I had another warranty which denied everything if they deemed something wrong. I called three different warranty companies. With Toco warranty, I had to wait at least 30 days. With another warranty that I see a lot of TV, it's also a 30-day process. Things can happen in 30 days but I've already paid money upfront. I don't think that is fair. Furthermore, their price is at $143 and above.
Protect my Car's representative sent me an overview of what they cover and explained everything in detail. They had immediate coverage. The day I would pay for their warranty, I would be 25 percent discounted already. After 10 days, it would become 50 percent once the claim is approved. So, I told her that I want to try out Protect my Car for an affordable $42 down which was the price they were offering at the time.
Not even two weeks later, I had a problem with my car. It was a transmission problem. I thought that Protect my Car would be thinking that something is going wrong with the car and so they would deny me my claim. Instead, Protect my Car was able to step in, get someone, authorize the dealer and handle everything once I made my payment. Then, I was scot-free. When I had the transmission problem, which was a total of about $6,200, I only paid half and Protect my Car paid the other half. Everyone was very helpful and everything was done in a timely manner. Protect my Car had different operators who take on my accounts and issue everything via email as well as tell me how everything is going to go.
The second time I had a problem, a spark plug was going out. While they didn't replace my spark plug because it was wear and tear, they paid my coils which was unheard of. Protect my Car's reps said that it's something that shouldn't go wrong with my car. Additionally, they offered a free oil change and a filter. Even the dealership said that they've never had a warranty company that gave customers an oil change and took care of the coils.
I've had warranties before and my experience hasn't been this smooth. The quality of the service, as well as the cost, were excellent. My experience with Protect my Car was worry-free and I would refer them to anybody. Now, when I have a ride around in my used car, I have some sense of protection that this company will go above and beyond trying to protect me.

I'm dissatisfied with Protect My Car because I haven't got the results that I need. I picked the car up when the mechanic said it was ready and when I drove it from their place, it drove so smooth. I went to pick up one of my best friends from work and she went with me to get a couple of errands done. She said it felt like it used to when I first got the car. It was so smooth that she said it was almost scary. I dropped her back off and when I backed up, it didn't want to pull up. I had to creep all the way home going 40. It would not go any faster.
When I got to the light, the car did not want to pull off when the light turned green. There were no cars behind me but cars were coming up. I got my flashers to come on and the light changed back to red. I noticed the blinkers stopped flashing and that gave me an indication that the car had stopped. I tried to start the car up, but it made no sound.
I tried to get a cop's attention across the street and he said that I had to put my blinkers on because somebody was going to hit me. When I explained the situation to him, he said it sounded like I have a transmission problem and that I would have to drive it in gear two to get it to move because it was not taking other gears. People were also yelling out of their cars and I was outside, holding on to the car 'cause I'm on a cane as well, trying to motion people, "Please go around. Don't hit me." It was scaring me. I had to step away from the car because I thought they were going to actually hit me.
When I took it to Honda, they said it's the transmission. This is one of their product cars and when they checked it, they deemed that the issue was the transmission. I told them it was fixed in November of 2017 and they told me to take it back to whoever that person was 'cause they did not do it right. I've had to take it back four times but I'm still dealing with the transmission. My car is not fixed and I don't feel like I have anybody on ProtectMyCar's side helping me make the mechanic do his job right. I pay Protect My Car my part and they pay him the whole thing. Why can't they reinforce him to make him do what he's supposed to do? And instead of fixing the problem, the mechanic is finding other parts on my car are wrong. But when I get it back, it runs right back to the transmission.

It does sound like the problem was with the shop that did the work, and not Protect My Car that paid for the repair.
We have no authority to force a shop to do anything. We did assist in making sure that the second repair was completed and under warranty, but that is the most we can do.
Thanks again for the comments.

I tried to file a claim when I signed up with them but they couldn’t help me at the beginning. They didn’t start their agreement until 30 or 90 days after I was with them and they didn't tell me about that when I signed up. I talked to someone but I also talked to the operator and that may be what I misunderstood. Still, Protect My Car didn’t really help me. With my car’s warranty, they started as soon as I gave them the VIN and all the information so it would be 75% off of anything. The monthly payment with Protect My Car was all right but there should no wait when you sign up.

As was explained to you, your coverage would reduce the cost of repairs during the first 30 day free trial period by 25%. After that free-look period, it was explained to you that your repair costs would be reduced by a guaranteed 50%. Your policy booklet sets out these savings in great detail as well. As we suggested to you, you may always call our customer service team should you have any questions so you do not have to guess what the coverage includes.
With a reduction of 25% on the engine replacement, your cost would be 75% of the original shop's estimate. That means that after just a $20 down payment on the policy, the coverage would have saved you almost $1,000 on the engine replacement.
We do regret that you felt your $20 down payment would entitle you to 75% off on an engine replacement. We do go to great lengths on all calls to make sure that a customer fully understands what can, and what cannot, be covered by the policy.

I'm on SSI and it seemed like a good idea to go with ProtectMyCar. Instead of having to use up all the money to get something done, I only needed to come up with half of it. The vehicle protection specialists explained things to me very well. If I had any questions, they would be answered. They also gave me a good deal since I'm only paying $41.59 a month for it, and that was the discount that they could give me. I had my car in April and got the contract in May.
I have filed a claim with them but there was a miscommunication between my service provider that I went to in Boise. When they gave me a quote me on how much it would cost from Mepco, it was way more so we had to go through a bit of a deal where I had to contact ProtectMyCar, and I had to have my specialist contact them and get it all straightened out. My specialist did a fabulous job of getting me within a budget. I had it at $1,500 and half of that would have been $750, which was doable for me, and that was what they did for me. They got it all straightened out, paid their half and my car was fixed.

Thanks again for those comments. We are pleased to have helped you with the cost so effectively.

We bought our Dodge 2004 used and we never had a warranty on it. We bought our Impala a year old and it still had a year warranty or so many miles, and it ran out. I thought if something goes wrong, I'm going to need some help. So, when I saw Protect My Car, I called and I bought an extended warranty. It was easy to sign up with them. It only cost me $9 to sign up for the first month and it went into effect within 15 days, and I thought that was special. Not long after I purchased ProtectMyCar, I had something I had to do with the Impala so my husband took the truck to work. Halfway to work, the transmission went out on it just right in the middle of the freeway.
He pulled over and he had it towed here to my house and then, I had it towed up to my mechanic. I told my mechanic I have ProtectMyCar and he said, “No problem.” And so, the first experience started out good. It's a Dodge Ram 5 speed manual and they sent an automatic transmission, which took almost three weeks. So, I had no car then, no transportation at all and rented a car that Protect My Car paid for part of three days. The second transmission was sent and it was the right one but it was full of mud. He said that he had to wash it all off before he could even install it because it had mud cake all over the outside of it. Furthermore, ProtectMyCar is way back east and I'm in California so when I go get my oil changed at 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon it can't be approved because they were closed.

We are open until 9pm Eastern (6pm your time). If it would help with your next oil change, call us first and we will be able to schedule ahead to a time that is most convenient for you.

I sent my car for repairs one time and trying to make the payment was a little complicated. I ended up paying almost $1,500 worth of repairs out of my pocket. Even though the warranty tells you they would cover half percentage or they would try to get you a low bill so you don't pay as much, I paid a lot of money out of pocket. I even asked at the mechanic shop how much the warranty covered and they said they didn't even cover half of it. ProtectMyCar was even able to deduct their fee from $1,500 to a lot less, almost $1,000. That was one of my bad experiences in the beginning.
After that, I didn't even use the warranty anymore because I was paying a lot of money for it and in the end, the bill was just too much. I couldn't keep up with the payments. I had the service contract with Protect My Car for six months but I didn't need it. So I canceled it ahead of time before I met the payment but it was a little complicated trying to cancel when I spoke to the agent. They kept trying to keep my plan and I kept telling the person that I spoke with that I needed to cancel it because I couldn't keep up with the payments, which were two. I canceled both my cards that were on the warranty. I canceled my first on my Camry, and then a few months later, I had to cancel also my minivan's warranty.

On the bright side, you did save over $1,500 in repair and maintenance costs with the coverage. Compared to the $400 in premiums you paid, that is quite a savings. By the way, the coverage guarantees that you save at least 50% on the cost of repairs, which includes cost reduction, negotiation on prices and cash payments made to the shop. That is why you only had to pay $1,425 on the $3,025 repair. We got the price lowered and paid the difference to meet the guarantee. You basically saved three years worth of premiums on just that one repair. That's how you know you have the right coverage.
We are glad that the coverage worked so well for you on both vehicles. We regret that you feel the cost of the coverage at $40 per vehicle was more than you could afford at this time.

When my insurance with the previous company expired ProtectMyCar called me and I decided to buy the second insurance from them to do repairs. The people that I spoke to at ProtectMyCar were really nice and they told me that my new insurance is different and it will be paying for my repairs. Unfortunately, I got a problem with the car. It was the first time that I had to use ProtectMyCar and it wasn’t a good experience. It took a long time for them to pay my mechanic.
ProtectMyCar’s customer service has always been wonderful. They call me whenever they told me that they would call me. However, they keep getting disconnected and I keep calling them back. We wait for 30 minutes before they answer. They also have different rules that are different from what I was expecting. My mechanic told me that most insurance people pay the deposit, at least, and then when the car is complete, I am expected to pay first then I call the insurance company and they check the car and then they pay me.
The difference with ProtectMyCar is the mechanic kept the car first and it took them a week so he kept getting in contact with someone at ProtectMyCar to get paid in full. I paid my 50% deposit at the beginning and the mechanic called me and told me I had to pay the 50%. I paid $300 with my credit card and after that, I had a lot of problems getting to ProtectMyCar. The mechanic is going back and forth because he doesn’t get paid. I went to the company and found out that they paid him with American Express today so I hope everything goes well.

Part of the protection is making sure that the repair is completed and done right and that we receive a final invoice and your authorization for payment before making a final payment to the shop.
Your shop was simply unable to provide the final invoice in a timely manner, despite our requests to them by phone and fax. That did delay payment to them and we apologize for that delay. We do hope you understand that was or your protection.

I thought the price per month was a little stiff so I called back and said, “You know what, I think I'm going to look for something else a little cheaper per month.” And the representative on the other line went out of her way to make me happy. She lowered my monthly payment and I have no deductible. Their reps were wonderful.
I have used the service a couple of times. One time, I took it for a 90,000-mile refresh. There were some things that I was responsible for but there were some things that my extended warranty covered. My mechanic said the gentleman that he spoke to at Protect My Car was very difficult to get through to and it took him a half an hour on the phone and he had a headache. When Protect My Car called me on the phone, I had a service contract but they told me that I could have another. They insisted that they were so much better than what I had already. They made it sound so wonderful over the phone but it was not everything they said that it would be. When I had to use it, the changes that I went through were unappreciated. And there were certain things that they didn't pay for that weren't explained to me in the beginning. My car also stayed at the dealership for over a month before they did anything. They asked me to jump through so many hoops and had I known that those were the things they would require me before I bought the warranty, I wouldn't have dropped what I had to go with what they had.

The only reason that the repair to your transmission was delayed was simply to allow you to catch up on the past due premiums on the policy. We do ask that a customer pay their premiums in order to receive the benefits of the coverage. We regret that you felt that this requirement caused you to "jump through hoops".

And with what I was told by the rep, it made sense from a financial point of view and it fit my financial means. The rep did a great job and she was very experienced. She gave me a lot of information, was responsive and I ended up calling them back for more information in my car. She knew what to discuss and what to pinpoint to get me to go with the deal.
Having the protection plan made my driving a lot more secure and I have less to worry about. We drive an older vehicle and some of those repairs can be crazy. I've been in the auto industry for years as far as the mechanical side and I know the price tag on repairs. Having the plan added the comfort of knowing I'm not going to some of these places and get charged 80% or some of those upcharges that they charge.

Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes, free tire rotations and a significant reduction in repair costs, anywhere up to 45% of the original estimate of repair costs. They also come with towing, 24 /7 roadside assistance and rental car benefits.

I have a Mercedes Benz sports car and the maintenance can be a bit pricey. Somebody from ProtectMyCar approached me and gave me a call so I enrolled. I pay so much every month and if I have problems, they pay half the cost and I pay the other half. My interaction with the vehicle protection specialist was good. However, filing a claim with ProtectMyCar is a bit funny. They want me to pay some money to them and then they pay to the provider. I brought that up to them and they said that it was written in the contract. However, there was a little tussle when they didn’t pay on time. I paid it to them and eventually, they paid so everything was okay.
One other thing, they were also supposed to pay half of what the cost was going to be. Before it was repaired, they gave an estimate and I paid half of it, but when the car was completed, the estimate was lower than the original estimate. I expected them to send me the difference but they did not. I expected that, as a business, they should have refunded my money to me without even being asked to do that. The difference was about $100. They just kept mute and kept collecting the premium every month anyway. I haven't really called them, but I will call them one day and I will present that to them.

Your coverage guarantees a 50% reduction off the shops original estimate. We do that through negotiating lower prices, getting a better price on parts and other means. We make up any difference in payments directly to the shop. You can always count on your final bill being 50% or less that the original estimate.
In order to secure better pricing on your behalf, shops want to know that their bill will be paid timely and in full. When you send us your share of the cost, we can guarantee the shop payment in full. Collecting that amount from you helps insure better pricing and a more streamlined repair time. For your added protection, we will not pay the shop until the work is done and they have provided a final invoice to us and you have authorized the payment. Once that occurs, we pay the shop in full for the repair with a corporate credit card.
Please let us know any time you have any questions. and thanks again for your comments.

Other than that, while their specialists were nice on the phone, filing the claim was a bit of a hassle. They had to go check the car and make sure it was that.

We should also point out that we do hire independent inspectors to determine needed repairs. We want to make sure the repairs are properly diagnosed and repaired is completed correctly the first time.

I wanted to make sure that I have additional coverage on my used vehicle with a lot of miles on it so I wouldn’t be responsible for the entire bill on repairs. Protect My Car had the best terms. I've talked to the salesperson and the manager before I purchased the coverage. They explained everything to me and they went into great detail on how the program worked. I wrote down questions and they were very patient as they answered all of them to my satisfaction. And then over the course of time, I’ve spoken to a number of individuals from the company and they were wonderful.
I've had claims with them and they have been so responsive in terms of getting back to me and to the dealership that I worked with to approve transactions. After the dealership would inform me that they've found something during routine maintenance of the car, or when I'd bring my car in because I've seen something wrong, the dealership itself would submit the information and an estimate to Protect My Car. Then Protect My Car would try to find a comparable part or get a better price all around.
After that, they would call me directly and let me know what they have come up with. And typically, they would let me make a decision about which part I'd choose in terms of cost. They would then request my portion which was generally half of the fee. They would take my payment via credit card and would cover the rest. Then they would pay the service fee directly to the dealership or whoever was doing the work. With Protect My Car, it's usually a one-day process which is really helpful, while according to the dealership, a lot of the other companies would take days to respond. Also, any questions that I had, they answered. I am so happy with Protect My Car. I'd tell everyone I meet who has a car or is in a similar situation to give them a call.

I needed an insurance for my car. Protect My Car's protection specialist said they paid 50% of repairs for your car. On the other hand, my extended warranty would pay for hoses, gaskets, and everything and I should have kept it because I found out that Protect My Car doesn’t pay for hoses and gaskets. Then, I also had a terrible experience with them about paying the bill. They had a part on the bill that they negotiated down $300 for a pump. After the work was done, I was billed $5,200 and I sent the bill to Protect My Car. They told me to give them $2,600, which is 50% of it, and that’ll be it. But when it came time to pay the bill, they only sent $4,800. It counted up me holding the bag for another $400 plus on the hoses and stuff that they didn’t pay for. I called them about that and they said they'd be getting back with me, talking to this person and that person. I didn’t like the insurance and I didn’t like the way they did the business.

We are glad that the policy did exactly what it is supposed to do, reduce your repair costs by 50%. we regret that the shop you chose to go to found it necessary to bill you an additional $400. They should have removed that charge as they promised they would do. We will be in touch to determine whether they have in fact done so.

When I was having an issue with the starter, the mechanic changed the sensor but he put in a defective one. I had to take it back and he supposedly changed it. But I was still having issues with the car starting. Evidently, the sensor wasn't the problem.
Recently, I had a starter put in and I just called in the claim for that. The representative instructed me on what I should do then I just followed the instructions. I also had to have the car towed one time and since the car is a BMW, the wrong tow truck came. I didn't get a tow truck all day so I had to go with someone else. My old man said that a service contract is something good to have for my vehicle. So when Protect My Car called, I got it. But it was real hard to get along with them. They didn't give good instructions and they said one thing but then it ended up being another. When I first enrolled, my old man thought he was going to be $70 and I thought mine was going to be $50. But when the bill came out the next month, there was a $20 extra on. They also said that they would pitch in in all bases. But when I got on the ball, they said I should have read the contract. But nobody wants to read a whole bunch of mumbo-jumbo.
Then when I filed my claim for my transmission, I had the auto place call Protect My Car. But Protect My Car didn't tell me not to pay the auto place when I first enrolled. So I paid my half, which was $900, to the auto place then I had to go through a whole mess to get my money. I had to end up sending them another $900. They didn't explain the process well enough for me. But when all was said and done, it was a good thing. The repair was done and it was done correctly.

Thank you for your comments. There are a couple of reasons why you really do need to read the coverage. You are paying for it and you should be familiar with the terms, of course. Also, while the coverage is explained thoroughly before you get the coverage, it is hard to remember what you heard on the phone after a few weeks or months. Reading the policy will help avoid the problems that you experienced. We are glad we were able to help you correct that issue and that the policy saved you so much money.

I have a 6 year old car and I decided to get a service contract for it. Protect my Car offered me a better price. Also, getting the warranty set up was easy. Their customer service representatives were also friendly and knowledgeable about my plan. I've filed a claim twice since getting the warranty. The claims were for my transmission, brake and rotors. Their vehicle protection specialist talked me through the whole thing. He also talked directly when I'm with my auto mechanic and they arranged everything from the pick-up time and drop-off time to the payments. I had the car done within two days and was called back in. Protect my Car is a good plan. I'd always recommend it to my friends.

I purchased a service contract for my vehicle about a year ago because I had a used vehicle and it had a lot of miles on it. My interactions with the vehicle specialists at ProtectMyCar were good and they helped me make sure I did all the paperwork and everything correctly. They also helped me get the process started. I called in when my car had an engine problem. ProtectMyCar told me to take it to where we were going to fix the car. The repair company did an estimation of how much time and how much money it was going to be and faxed the information over to ProtectMyCar. Then the company got started on the car. ProtectMyCar’s service has been great although their customer service could be a little quicker because I had to be on hold for a lot.

The vehicle that I had was getting up in miles and Protect My Car had that offer so I decided to jump on it. It sounded real good to me and the price was good too. They also gave me a discount 'cause I'm a veteran and I appreciated that. Their service is good quality. The truck that I have covered has roadside assistance as well and when it left me 50 miles from the house, they picked up my truck and took it to the shop. They didn't pay the entire toll fee, but they paid some of it.
I've also used them three times now and they've all been great. It was for a transmission, the rear end. Then, I had a radiator and a couple of other items at the same time, and then an oil change. What I usually do is communicate it with the shop. For the first time, the guy wasn't sure how to do this, but once they communicated, the second and third time were easy. I usually call Protect My Car first and I let them know that the shop that I've used will be calling them. They do and then Protect My Call calls me right away. They've asked the pertinent questions and then they've communicated well with the shop. They took care of half of the bill, just like it said in the contract and then I paid my half. It's like having a new car warranty and I feel great. I've recommended it three times and I also have a five-year-old Honda Accord that just went out of warranty so I've been thinking about calling and getting that car covered as well.

Our goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide that.

It also has so many benefits compared to the other companies in the market. I have been extremely impressed with the staff so far at Protect My Car.

Protect My Car has a very articulate, convincing and fantastic rep. I didn't intend to get the warranty but he gave us such a good offer on it and yet it's very comprehensive and it has been a blessing to me, so far. And since he has a rocket position with the company, he didn't seem like a temper cool salesperson. He solidly negotiated the price and the cost of the package. He was considerate and friendly, too. Most of the customer service reps were patient and considerate to some of the problems I had. But I was put through one who asked me if I wanted to cancel my contract. And that was the only surprise of the element to my experience with them.
The claiming process was slovenly. And the way they have set up where you have to pay them the amount first but it's a 50/50 deal is difficult. I have to send the 50% to them and sometimes the prices that the dealer uses which increases the price to the consumer. I couldn't even negotiate with the dealers as far as the price and parts that they would use on my car. Some repair facilities want to use original equipment parts when Protect My Car has prices which you can get wholesale and aftermarket parts.
Protect My Car is more comprehensive than most insurance companies. It covers everything that has to do with the mechanical workings of the vehicle. My car requires a service about every six months and it costs $200 to $300. As far as the mechanical breakdown protection, right now, I'm saving up to get some repairs done that I had diagnosed earlier that I couldn't afford it because of the 50% requirement and the difference in the price that they charge as opposed to what the repair facility charges. I couldn't get the repair I wanted to be done and then they could have covered the rental car at the time that the repair facility kept the car. I found out that it has to be a certain flat-rate hours before they would cover for a rental car. So while I was spending almost $300 for a rental car, it would've been covered if I hadn't gotten a whole repair.
I would suggest Protect My Car to my friends especially those with an older car like mine, with a low mileage. Cars eventually got to need some repair and to get some help on it like Protect My Car had been able to do for me. I would definitely recommend them. They stand behind what they pledged to the customer and it's a very smooth process as far as getting repairs done and them following up properly with what they promised.

But the rep and I weren't on the same page. He wasn't getting most of the information at one time and I had to call a few times. My warranty expired and went with ProtectMyCar because I needed it. I filed claims for my motor mounts and for something that had to do with the engine and their service had been okay. But I'm having issues because everything that I had done, I had to pay half for them. I'm thinking about changing because every time I got my car fixed with them, they used used parts on my car and I didn't feel that I needed to pay for those parts. The provider I had before used new parts. And since the cost was more in my pocket, I might as well find a warranty that's going to help me more. I'm dissatisfied and I would not recommend Protect My Car. Right now I'm just trying hold on to a warranty to keep my car on the road.

Our coverage does provide help for vehicle owners with older, higher mileage vehicles by providing a reduction in repairs costs of 50% of the shops estimate. To date, you have saved over $4,200 in repair costs, towing and rental car expenses with this coverage. That is money you would have had to spend without this coverage. The coverage itself has only cost you $69 per month, or about $500 since you took out the coverage nine months ago.
We are sure that once you realize how much the coverage has benefited you, you will know how smart it was for you to have this coverage.

Purchasing a service contract for my vehicle seemed like a good idea. I got one from ProtectMyCar and the warranty doesn't cost an outrageous amount for what I get and for the age of my car. However, I’m not entirely happy with the company. When I signed up for the coverage, the rep explained the overall plan and how it works. He knew what was going on. They said they would save me 50% of what the cost of the repairs were. But when I have filed two separate claims for some fan linkage and an electrical problem in the door, I knew they lied to me.
I took the vehicle to where they were going to have it worked on. Then the dealer determined what was needed, called ProtectMyCar, and gave them their quote. After, ProtectMyCar called and told me to send them money for one half of what the shop quoted them. From there, they played the game of negotiating with someone getting their side reduced. I don’t see any benefit to that as they only get the benefit. I’ve talked to their customer service and they all say that the contract says it'd save me 50% of the price. But I told them that I read the contract and it says they'd save me 50% of the repair cost. Still, no one wants to hear it and the rep handled the situation poorly. But I haven’t canceled my warranty yet because it saved me money since I didn't have to pay the whole repair cost myself. But I wish they would be straightforward and tell me I’ve got to pay 50% of the amount originally quoted regardless of how much it actually costs.

The coverage reduces the original estimate for repairs by 50% on mechanical breakdowns. It does not, in addition to that reduction, then pay 50% of the reduced cost. That would simply not be economically feasible given the very low cost of the coverage. It does, of course, also pay for your oil changes, towing and roadside assistance in full.
We thank you for being a policy holder and look forward to assisting you when you need it.

We are known to keep cars for a long time and we are a high mileage family. So the warranties last appropriately enough for us to find the damage if there’s going to be anything wrong. And if there’s none, there would be. We've always kept warranties and I really liked the way that ProtectMyCar.com dealt with me even though it was a cold call. They were the first to call and they treated me well. ProtectMyCar.com was also the cheapest and one of the best. Even when our car hit 200,000 miles, they were still willing to insure it. My car was a 2004 and over time, some of its parts disappear but they were still willing to do what I needed them to do. When I looked at what’s covered now, ProtectMyCar.com was the best that I could find. I got a good value for my dollar.
My wife’s transmission went out on her car and we didn’t have $2,500 to retransmission it. It was easy to process a claim and the quality of service was excellent although some of it was a mess to start with. They did one thing that irritated the people I talked to. They would not issue any check and they weren’t very understandable. There was a mix up as far as getting the money and they were expecting me to bring all the money in at one time. I explained to them that it wasn’t that way but nonetheless, we saw the policies and everything ended up being fine. They paid a certain amount and we also paid a certain amount because of the high mileage.
It could have been a significant problem but it wasn’t. They explained it very quickly and I was able to understand. They asked me to take care of the auto repair company and it took about five minutes to reach the person I needed to talk to. They were very gracious once they realized who it was and they had their check before I left the office. The money must have been wire transferred and it ended up being a good work. My relationship with the people who fixed the car is still good and that’s the reason that I liked ProtectMyCar.com. It’s worth it.
I’ve worked very well with them and they worked well with us. Once my wife Margaret had something wrong with her car, she called the warranty company and they told her that they were going to fix it. I never trust this kind of thing to my wife because a lot of times, I feel like people take advantage of a woman but my wife found them polite and that was big to her. Then they got right on it. It impressed me that they could deal with Margaret and me fairly and deal with this thing. ProtectMyCar.com was righteous and if people treated the company’s representatives the way they want to be treated, that’s the way to get the best service. But no matter who ProtectMyCar.com is talking with, I think they’re going to handle it professionally and I would recommend them to anyone.

I wasn’t too informed about warranties before and I had just my insurance on my car. At that time, I just wanted to make sure I had insurance driving around Indiana which I felt was necessary. Then it just came up and it sounded that getting a service contract was a good idea. Protect My Car seemed like a great deal with the towing, oil changes and everything, so I signed up with them. They also had certified vehicle protection specialists who were very informative. They opened my eyes and without them I don't believe I'd even think that I could get a warranty on my vehicle even as just going through. It was shocking not only to myself but to other mechanics as well. And that was awesome.
Their customer service team does a good job. We talk and I'm on first name basis with one of the girls. One time, I was going to see one of my family members I haven’t seen in many years. I was on the road and my tire blew. I was always busting tires since I drive in between Chicago and Indiana, so it’s really easy to bust a tire. I reached out to Protect My Car and they were able to get me over to a Walmart that was close by. Then, there was a situation where Protect My Car was unsure of a tow. They didn’t know that I had the plan on the vehicle that I was driving and I did not get the tow initially that I was supposed to get. But, we worked it out and I was able to get a tow.
And then when my truck overheated, I've put in a claim. I had it inspected and right now, I'm getting a newer engine put in it. At that time, some other things were messed up as well, so we just got another engine that’s clean and has lesser miles on it. I’m more confident having Protect My Car because I know I got my insurance backed up. Having them is truly a benefit and I really appreciate the whole company and what their guys have to offer. I have recommended them.

My daddy suggested that I purchase a service contract for my vehicle. I have an old car. I like it and want to keep it for a while. This is also my first time to get an auto warranty provider. The interaction I had with the vehicle protection specialists was all right. They told me how much I need to pay that on, checked my credit and gave me the claim. I agreed to it. However, they should send an email to remind you your bill is due. That would be cool than to send some mail within two, three or four days over because you get a lot of bills to pay and a lot of bills have a reminder.
Also, my claim is still pending and everything is pretty much the same. I asked them how long my claim would stay pending. They could stay pending until I decided to pay. That's cool because I don't want to go from shop to shop trying to get a good estimate where I'm all right with the shop I work at. The only thing is, it's holding the money up to send it. It's going to be hard to send that kind of money through my debit card because I don't think it's going to have over a certain amount of money on it. I got to find another way to do that. It would be nice if they can pay that cash to the company or the mechanic that is actually working on that car.
I didn't have a problem with the quality of Protect My Car service as well. They have a 24/7 number that actually works when you call but it keeps sending you back to the first call. You press 1, press 2 and then no call and the line's busy. It gets busy a lot of times. They need more callers or more phones. Nevertheless, I would recommend them to a friend. It's a good thing. If you got an old car or any kind of car, Protect My Car is cool because it saves you money.

The guy at work got a vehicle that’s got a high mileage and he told me about Protect My Car. I had filed claims for my vehicles and my experience with them was pretty much bad. The lines in my Suburban got rusted out. Protect My Car told me that wasn’t a normal wear and tear. My vehicle was already in the shop but they wanted me to pay them my portion of it and then they would pay the remaining portion of the bill. I couldn’t go out and just buy my own part. It had to go through them first. I was caught up in a little bad situation because I didn’t know what all it covered until I actually needed it. But then when I needed it, then that’s when they told me they don’t cover it. The customer service really wasn’t there.
I also had a Ford F250 and they told me how much it would cost me for another engine. My part of it would have been $3,000 and they will pay the rest. I found the engine which was only $400, but they wouldn’t let me find my own engine and they wanted to find the engine for me. They said that that was their policy that they couldn’t guarantee the engine unless they went out and found the engine. I told them that they still really can't guarantee the engine because they don’t know the mileage that the engine had.

It was for that reason that we could not approve replacing your $3,000 engine with a $400 engine you found.

We have a truck that was a little older and we pay $44 for its auto warranty with ProtectMyCar.com. This past summer, the transmission went out so we had to file a claim. While we didn't have a problem filing a claim, I didn't like that the transmission went out while he was in Louisiana. We reside in Florida so he had to leave the truck and get it repaired. However, it wasn't fully repaired. It is still having issues and we don't know if my husband has to take the truck back to Louisiana to get it re-serviced and find out what's wrong with it or we can we bring it to Florida to another certified workshop and have them repaired. I have been telling him to take it back in or call ProtectMyCar.com and let them know that his truck is still not running the way that it should be. But my husband is not going to call anybody. He's hardheaded and that's what's frustrating me.
Other than that, we didn't know that the policy had expired and we're still paying for it. And because it only protected us for a certain amount of mileage, we went over and didn't know it. Though they give out an email once a year to remind customers to check their mileage to make sure they're not going over, and to call them to renew the policy if they're hitting the 200,000 mark, it is still our responsibility to keep up with the mileage. So when my husband went to file a claim, they basically told him that it's not covered anymore because he's outside the mileage warranty. They would still repair the transmission for $52. In the end, they did it for half the price. They also backdated our policy.

Thank you for your business and please call us anytime you have any questions.
By the way, you can take the vehicle to any licensed shop you choose. You do not have to go back to Louisiana to have the work covered.

ProtectMyCar was the only auto warranty provider that contacted me. They talked about the warranty and I was interested because I never had any experience with this type of dealing with anyone especially with a car. I wanted to see if it was real. Their reps were polite and they told me pretty much everything that I needed to hear and know about the car services they had.
They told me to take my car to the dealer once I have a problem with it and that mostly all the dealers that have a license are covered under that warranty. They have to give ProtectMyCar a call and provide a breakdown of all the things that need to be done, which lets ProtectMyCar know if they’ll cover it and what they’ll pay. They inform the shop about what is covered then I have to put so much amount in my account. I make sure that the money is in my account and fax them over the paperwork. Then they take that money out and pay the other half of the price. And I will pay the difference of what they couldn’t cover.
When I had to put my car in a shop, ProtectMyCar helped me a lot. Their reps did a 10 in my book because they told me everything and helped me understand the breakdown every time I had questions. I even had the supervisor because I didn’t know that they did the oil changes, too. So, when I found out, he told me to email him the receipt that I had with the recent oil change and they would refund me that money. And that’s what they did. That was good because I was paying $90 every six months for my oil change and they paid for it. When I told them what my car's model and the year was, they told me that the warranty covered only some of the parts as they could only do so much.
ProtectMyCar's customer service reps have been really nice every time. I had about $5000 of work done with my car recently and they took about $2300 off of that, so that was a big help for me. They were excellent, too, and every time I needed something answered, they let me know how it was. If I would like to speak to a supervisor to clarify something, they put him on right away and handled the situation. Then they gave me their personal numbers and extensions as well as their email addresses. If I needed any more help, I would give them a call so I could speak to them directly if I had any more concerns.
I pay $49 a month to ProtectMyCar and so far, they have done everything they had to do and the quality of their service has been excellent. I feel comfortable with them and I know that if anything happens, I can just give them a call with a breakdown, with the tire flat, or any of that. I would recommend ProtectMyCar to everybody because it’s a decent thing that they have going on and it helps a lot with people with cars. When you take your car to the regular dealership, they want to charge you an arm and a leg. But with ProtectMyCar, they’d help me pay on some of the parts and that’s a big relief.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect my Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

I got my mother a plan with Protect My Car so when issues come up and it costs too much, I don't have to fork out that kind of cash in a hurry if I didn’t have it. If I could afford to pay just half of the price at that time, then I would. But sometimes, a repair costs way more than you expect so that’s why I got it. When I filed a claim for her, they got her car fixed when it broke down and there was no headache or hassle. She took her truck to a repair shop and the repair shop was certified. They printed out some paperwork that had to be faxed to Protect My Car and Protect My Car faxed some stuff back to them saying what was covered and what wasn't covered. Then they told her the amount of money that she had to pay for and that the rest would be taken care of.
But my mom has been getting her truck fixed from some mechanic dude that is a friend of hers in the church so it doesn’t make any sense for me to pay for something when she is getting it fixed somewhere else no matter what I do. So I canceled her plan for her truck and I was going to switch the plan over to my Mitsubishi truck. It worked for what we needed it to do and if I see somebody struggling and whose car looks like it might be a problem in the future, I’d let them know Protect My Car is another way to get stuff done if something breaks down other than just insurance for when somebody hits your vehicle or you hit somebody.

I had an extended warranty on my car before through another company and it expired at 150,000 miles. I've always tried to keep that extra protection since the car is an older. Someone said ProtectMyCar is supposed to be good. I checked with a couple of companies and ProtectMyCar had the best rate for all I needed to have done with my car repairs. The only thing better with the other company was the percent that I had to pay. I had to pay about 40% to 50% with Protect while the other one, I only had to pay 20% to 30% and I've paid that straight to the shop. I didn't have to pay it in to the warranty people first and then cut one check to the mechanic place. There are some extra steps in there with Protect.
The reps that I interacted with during the process of purchasing were fine. They gave me the information I needed like an informed decision. My interaction with customer service during the claims process was okay. I had to call back a couple of times because when I had to pay the money in, I paid it to someone who took my information. They had to send it over to the claims people for them to process it. It irritated me a little because I had to call them and make sure that the payment got processed so that the shop could get started on my car.
I've had a couple of different things done on my car and I had to stay on top of Protect to make sure that the claims are processed. It wasn't processed fast enough for me. Overall, ProtectMyCar's quality of service is good. The cost is very economical and it's good. Having an extra warranty on my vehicle gives me some level of comfort knowing that I'm not going to have to come up with a great big amount right off the bat. Yet I wish there was a time frame when the initial would have to be paid in to them and if there's a way I could pick a percentage right then and two or three days to finish the other. I would recommend them all the way. As a matter of fact, I have recommended it to a few people.

My interaction with their customer service was generally good. The vehicle protection specialist was a good help. She broke everything down, the terms into my terminology. She was good and knowledgeable. I called her back because I had some other questions and she was right there and answered. They were able to help me with everything and I’m confident now. Also, I love the coverage of my service contract. I agreed with everything so it was good. I recommend them to anybody because they will cut the whole price in half for getting stuff done with the engine or underneath the hood. Protect My Car is definitely worth it.

ProtectMyCar was the only one that I saw ads for and I decided to see what they were about. Normally, on a payment, their customer service would call me and they're very courteous. I had one claim with ProtectMyCar for a blown engine and I put my vehicle in the shop that was recommended by them. It took them a couple of months to fix it which was a little long, but eventually, I got my vehicle back.
I just got the car back in October and I didn't even drive it for the first couple of weeks. Once I paid for all of that, then I started driving. The engine that they put in there is working good. However, when I got my vehicle back, my tail lights and park light didn't work. That started happening on January 18th, and then, it didn't happen for a week or two. Then, it happened again, then it happened once a week. And now, every time I put on brakes at a light, my oil pressure goes all the way down to zero. And so, it won't really run. I have to wait until the pressure comes back up in order to go. It's getting worse. So today, I called and let them know about those two items.
The repairman is going to look at it to try to see what it is with both of those problems, and then he'll let me know. We can take it from there, but it started happening after the warranty. My warranty was up and they only gave me 90 days of warranty on the motor, which was from October 12 to January 12. So, all I got was 90 days. I didn't notice the problems that I was having until the 18th of January. Whatever the repairman says, I'll know if I'm satisfied at that point. Right now, I'm not satisfied. I just spent $4800, and then I'm still having to experience some problems several months later. I had to pay $2400, and then, ProtectMyCar warranty is costing me about $3000. So, I'm still paying a little over five grand for the thing. Nevertheless, Protect My Car helped me out good with the payment and that's what I would tell my friend.

Thanks for your comments and thank you for being a policyholder.

My vehicle was paid for and although I still have a full coverage for the car just in case of an accident, I didn't have anything covering the technical aspects of the vehicle like the engine and the transmission. My interaction with the rep of Protect My Car has been great. I had an incident and I had been in the program for a month and was told that my car needed service. They handled everything very well with the mechanic and did everything they were supposed to do.
Also, I felt great about the quality of service I received from Protect My Car. They were a blessing because I've never heard of any company that would cover the damages or the cost of wear-and-tear and issues that may happen with my transmission and pay half of that. It relieved a lot of burden off my shoulders during the time that I needed them. Their prices were reasonable as well. I'm happy to have met Protect My Car and I will stick around for a very long time. I would tell my friends to sign up for sure. You never know what may happen so I would tell them to definitely check Protect My Car out.

I got a service contract for my vehicle in case anything goes wrong. I had wonderful interactions with the Protect My Car rep when I purchased the extended warranty. I also had told a friend that everything Protect My Car told me was great. Everything was okay until I found out about my deductible when I had trouble with my car. I had it in the shop and they said that my deductible was $100. But the tech said that he had to be paid $1,400 before fixing my car which I can't afford. I'd let them go because of that.

Thank you for your comments. Our claims agent went over the cost with you before, but to make sure you have the right numbers, the shop estimated your total repair would be $1,521. The coverage reduces that amount by half, so your cost on the repair will be $760.50. Please let us know when you can proceed and we will help you all we can.

Two years ago, I just had the car and I figured that getting a service contract for my vehicle would help. I tried Protect My Car and I stayed with them. My experience with them was great and I'd recommend them. The sales reps were helpful and gave me all the information that I needed. They did well and I was satisfied with all the help and information that I got. Since I purchased my car's extended vehicle protection plan, I knew that if I had any issues, I could call Protect My Car and I didn't have to be stuck on the road. They would tow my vehicle off the road, so that was a plus.
The first time that I actually used Protect My Car, the claims reps were very efficient. The quality of their service was great and they did what they told me. The claims process was good and simple, and there were no hassles. They waited until they got the estimate for the repair cost and when they got it, they told me what I had to pay and what they would pay. I made the payment and they followed through and did what they had to do.

I know I'm going to need service for my car sooner or later, and I could help defray the cost with a warranty. I talked to several other people and Protect My Car had the best price and the best customer service. The guys at Protect My Car were really nice too, and every time I called, they were very helpful. And I had to call back for several things, such as when I needed a transaction receipt that the shop couldn't find. They said I didn't have the work done there and I know I did. But the service advisor gave me an estimate copy of the receipt, and I called Protect My Car and they sent me the copy right through email and fixed everything. Protect My Car did really good.
I’ve filed a few claims with Protect My Car, and they give me four oil changes per year, so that's a plus too. The claims process is very easy. I just give them my card and they handle it from there. And then, one of the service people will call me back from Protect My Car and I give them my percentage of it and it's all taken care of. Protect My Car’s coverage is great, and they have a plan. Since I tried last year, I’ve had a defray of an average of 50%. But if it's 100% that'd be great. With Protect My Car, I know that if something goes wrong, I can call them for a tow or whatever I need. They reimbursed me for a rental car that I had when my car was in the shop too. I recommend Protect My Car, and I talk about them all the time. My sister got a policy with them a couple of weeks ago.

Protect My Car contacted me and I got their product. I like it since I have been using it. Their rep spoke to me about Protect My Car and he was awesome. The way I got the plan and how things work was a good customer service. He gave me an amazing result. He had set up everything then contacted me later on for the payment. They always answered my questions quickly. They never disappointed me when I use the service.
I already had two claims. The process was good. The rep taught me to have a different plan and which plan was good for my vehicle and for its age. The first claim was for my engine. I was driving and then something was going on with the heat. They took care of that. My car’s in the shop right now. All I got to do is take the car to one of the certified mechanic and the mechanic will contact them directly and get them the estimate. They contact me and we just share the bill. It’s an easy process. The rep told me that it was going to cost around $2,000 and some and I’m paying every month. I kind of saved since I have it though so I can’t complain. I know I have it and in case what happens. I recommend it to my ex-wife.

Great point, too. You never really know when a major breakdown will happen. It just makes sense to protect yourself before it does.

Protect My Car sounded like a good plan. I was told initially that the payment could be however it was convenient for me. But then I was told I had to do it a certain way by my credit card which was inconvenient because I had already started making payments and it even wasn't working. My interactions with the reps have been mostly good, but during that call when I tried to let them know that I was making a payment by cash and I already did, it went downhill from there. The rep didn't tell me that I couldn't go on with my cash. So I had to go back to the bank, put money in my card, wait for it to load and then make my payments. That was kind of foolish to me. I should be able to make a payment however I wanted to.

At the time, I had the extra money to do it. Purchasing the warranty was smooth and easy. Moreover, the rep was very helpful in explaining the policy. The claim process itself started with the auto repair place. They contacted Protect My Car and they talked a lot. Once the claim was submitted, the warranty company called them and let me know that the claim has been submitted and what my portion was. And that they needed to be paid for before service can be started on my car. My interaction with the customer service has been good. I thought Protect My Car was a good buyout for me. But as I learned out, there were some things about the extended auto warranty that wasn’t explained to me. It was Nationwide that presented this to me. The issue I had was not so much with the service but it was more so a misunderstanding. I didn’t know that it would only pay us a certain amount so even with that it’s still was okay but I should have been told in advance.
I had some work done. And particularly, at that time, my transmission went on a brink. I didn’t know that I would have to come out of pocket as for that as well because they only paid a certain amount then I have to pay the remaining. I thought I wouldn’t have to pay anything. Had that been explained to me from the beginning then I would’ve been expecting that. The reps were good. They were professional. I would tell a friend about Protect My Car. But I will also tell my friend to be careful because of something like that would happen with the transmission or maybe an engine. They need to ask questions as far as about that.

My 1993 old 88 Royale had 201000 miles on it and the lady I spoke to highly recommended Protect My Car. My car took the crap a month ago and I filed the claim for it. It was about the motor because I blew a headgear. It was recommended to put a different motor in there and they had one shipped from California. It was on a Monday and three or four days passed, I called the mechanic to ask where my car was at. He said that they still haven't received the motor.
Wednesday of the following week came around. I called Protect My Car back and they said that the motor was just being shipped out that morning at 11 o'clock. I said that I was going to lose my job. I live about 45 minutes away from my job and I have no transportation, so I have gotten a rental car. They said that they would reimburse me for up to $90. I asked what they were going to do about the whole week that I had to pay out of my pocket for their mistake when I had to talk to 10 different tellers where someone tells me one thing and another person tells me another and then it was not true. Moreover, I had to pay more money. I paid over $500 for a rental car. They haven't said anything back and they haven't given me a reimbursement. They said it'd be up to 30 or 90 days.
I had my car for one day after that when it broke down again. I was driving down the road and it just died on me. I was in the shop the day before and it was fine going to work. Also, I came home with my car and everything was fine. But I got all the way to Butler down 8 and then it just stalled on me. I rolled it onto the side road and now it sits on the side of the road. I can't get it towed. For one, I have no money. For two, I've already used two of the tows for the year.
They said that they can't do anything right now because I didn't make my $58 payment because I have no money right now. I think they said that I was not covered now. I asked if they were going to tell me that I don't have the 12-month warranty and the 12000-mile warranty on it anymore. But I couldn't understand what the guy said because I was inside the building on my Wi-Fi phone. My experience with them was not very good.

We do not provide rental cars but we do reimburse up to $90 toward that cost, and pay for towing as well. That is all on top of the savings in the repair cost.
We are glad the coverage helped you out so much and we are sure that after realizing how much you have saved, you will be glad you have this coverage as well.

My vehicle ran out of the original warranty and Protect My Car was the first company to answer my request for a quote for a service contract for it. The coverage that they offered was a little expensive and I wished it would cover more than 50 percent of the repair cost, but I haven't found a warranty that covers more. The reps that helped me pick out my policy were nice and helpful. When I had my transmission changed, I called and asked the reps what to do, and they gave me instructions. I called again when I needed more progress on the claim and they answered my questions on everything that I needed to know. Since I got the protection plan, I feel safer that I won't have to deal with the entire problem if something happened. Protect My Car's service was good and I would recommend them.

We do work hard to make sure your experience with Protect my Car is a positive one and that the whole process, from choosing the right coverage, to making sure it is comfortable on your budget, to fast and efficient claims service, towing and rental car benefits, gives you great peace of mind.

I have a vehicle that has over 200,000 miles on it and I didn't feel like buying a new one. I did a Google search and Protect My Car popped up with five other ones. From what I received, Protect My Car had the best quote. I was aiming for 100 percent but the protection specialist told me that due to the mileage of my car, they would protect up to 50 percent of whatever the cost of repairing my car was. But he didn't go over the list of stuff they wouldn't pay for. He just told me that they were going to send me a packet in the mail. About a week later, I received the packet. I read it and said that 50 percent is better than no percent. The price was also reasonable and I thought it was okay if I didn't have to pay the full amount.
When a major event happened with m truck, it was easy to file a claim with them. But the follow-up on the claim was non-existent. They never called me up and their customer service was clueless. I put my truck in a shop last October and after Christmas, they started working on it. Then I got it back in February and that was because I waited to hear back from Protect My Car on the status of my vehicle and they weren't doing anything. They advertised that it was one-stop-shopping. Once your vehicle goes in the shop, they would talk with the service advisor at a dealership, and between the service advisor and them, they handle all the repairs of your vehicle. But I wasn't sure about that with my case. They also paid a quarter of the bill and I wound up paying 75 percent.

You should also know that we do not do the work on the cars or schedule the work. That is the shop's job. Sometimes the repairs take longer for any number of reasons, but it is not a result of the coverage.
Thanks again for your comments. We are sure that after considering the savings you have already achieved, you will realize how right you were to get the right coverage.

I had my car for a while now. I'll never know what's going to happen with it and knowing this type of car, it will cost too much to repair. I saw Protect My Car and they sounded good so, I called them and it worked out. I filed a claim when the car overheated. The customer service rep that I spoke with told me to take the car to the shop, they will call us and take it from there. I took the car to the shop a couple of weeks ago. Filing the claim took longer than I thought. The dealer told me they have not gotten a response from ProtectMyCar so, they gave me a loaner car which I had for four days.
My payment is something down at the moment. The shop was saying they needed to replace something, but Protect My Car kept saying they were not going to cover it and I didn't have to do it. It was a good thing that they have people that know about cars and they are questioning the maintenance of the dealer about the repair because when you go to the shop, they'll just throw a number and they'll tell you, "This is it." In addition, Protect My Car should also include in the coverage certain little things that cost $20 or $40. Other than that, I'm happy with them. I told my friends to call them and I gave them the number.

We here at Protect My Car do not just pay the bill. We want to make sure that the shop is doing a necessary repair and doing it right the first time. It's all part of doing the right thing for each customer.

When I got the vehicle, there wasn't a warranty so I ended up getting a service contract from Protect My Car. But when I initially got my warranty, there was some misunderstanding with the whole issue of my car being brand new and things like that. They asked me a couple of questions and they ended up putting me on a plan that's for brand new cars only. But then one of the adjusters came out and tried to tell them that my car has preexisting issues and that it was dripping oil from the oil filter. First of all, I told them "The dealer can't sell the car on their lot whatever issue you were talking about." So of course, they wanted to fight me through it. And I was like "Dude, I don't need to lie. I'm not going to lie about 2013 to 2015 model car."
Apparently, the problem is in the internal water pump. It went on the car and it was mixing in with the oil. And when that happens, funny things happen inside the motor. The extra pressure was seeping out on other places or whatnot. But it wasn't coming from the oil filter. It's just gravitation pulls things down so it was collecting on the bottom of the oil filter and it looks like it was dripping from the oil thing. Then, they were trying to give me some broke down motor. I was like "Woah. We're not doing it." They go off and try to find the cheapest, or they call it the "best deal" that they can get. You can get a better deal. I was like "You need to refund me the few months that I've been with you all". I told them that they need to give me something equal or greater, and not something worse.
I told them that the car is known for having water pump issues and that it's just a bad motor device. If they're giving me a coverage for 160000 miles that isn't going through the water pump issue then that's just a ticking time bomb. They have to give me something with fewer miles or a refurb but they wouldn't give me a refurb motor. I told them that if that was the case, I would cancel my policy and pay it out myself. They then transferred me to another rep and he said "Look, I can change to an ambassador program. And what we do is pay half and you pay the other half." We did that to kind of iron itself out. I still didn't appreciate the fact that someone told them that my car has a pre-existing issue and it didn't. I would have liked to have known whoever the third party was so I can basically show him all the facts on the car.

The shop you took the car to for the repair, and the inspection report on the vehicle both stated that a leak in the oil filter caused the oil to be transferred to the cooling system and that it was a long term situation. We realize you had only purchased the care recently, but that is what you were sold. Its difficult to accept that it happened, but the shop and the inspection reports speak for themselves.
Rather than deny your claim as a pre-existing condition, we worked to provide you with the best coverage possible. That coverage saved you 50% of the cost of the repair and we are very glad we were able to help you out of a difficult situation.

I purchased a Cadillac and ProtectMyCar called me and the vehicle protection specialist was conversational. She told me in detail what to expect and not to expect. I have also talked to their customer service reps on three different occasions. The first time, I needed a jump. And the second time, I needed them to take my car to a tire place. And then, there was one time I didn’t need a total check at all. They were good.
But when my timing chain broke and Car-X said that my so-called motor had a dent in it, they went ahead and checked my motor apart without my permission. They very much charged me an arm and leg and ProtectMyCar only took 50% of the bill. That still left me paying more than I paid for that car. I'm letting it go because it's not worth it and Car-X totally destroyed my Cadillac because nobody gave them permission to take my motor apart or even touch my motor. They were supposed to only touch the timing chain so I'm really highly pissed on that.
I'm not very happy with Car-X and they can keep that car. And once I purchase the Focus, I plan on reopening my protection plan on it because I absolutely love ProtectMyCar’s service. I absolutely will recommend them to a friend. They had an awesome service when I had problems with the Cadillac and knowing that they took up 50% of the bill, that was awesome because there's no other company that’s willing to do that.

However, I had a problem. I talked to someone from ProtectMyCar and told them that my vehicle would be undergoing a major repair. They said okay so I assumed that it was okay for the repair to go ahead and start. Four days later, the guy from the shop caught up to me and asked, "What are you going to do with your vehicle?" I said, "What do you mean?" He said, "They haven't given us the "okay" to go ahead and start fixing your vehicle." So, I called ProtectMyCar back and asked them what was the holdup, why haven't they called or contacted him to go ahead and fix the vehicle.
They told me that I would have to pay half down and that they'd give the okay after that. I'm like, "You just left my vehicle there for four or five days when you could've just told me that when I talked to you prior to three or four days before that." They left me without any transportation because during the time that they said okay, it was close to the weekend and you can't get a car on weekends. They gave me a rental for three days but I didn't know how long your car's going to be in there. Mine was in there way over three days. That was the only thing that put us in a bind.

There really is no "hidden" warranty. As we tell all customers, we warrant all parts we supply for 12 months or 12, ooo miles. We point this out to customers and shops each time we provide parts.

The regular warranty had run out on one of my vehicles so I purchased a warranty from Protect My Car. The buying process was easy. I just called them, they told me what the amount was, I paid it with my credit card and I gave me them my information and the vehicle’s information. I never really had any issues with them, but the first time when I used it on the Cadillac CTS because my check engine light came on, it threw me for a loop. I just pay 50% and then Protect My Car pays the other 50%. But the amount that I paid came up to be more than 50% and the amount that they paid was actually less than 50% once the bill was finalized with the Cadillac dealership.
The reason that they had given me was that after everything was finalized, they haggled with the dealership and the dealership paid down on the part and the labor rate, and there was one part that they didn’t even use. I said I should be credited back some of that money but that never happened. Although when I filed that claim, I did it wrong because I was already over at the Cadillac dealership and they had already given me the actual paperwork for everything that was wrong with the car that I traded in. They tried to call Protect My Car and get authorization but they couldn’t because I already came to the dealership.
Protect My Car told me, once I finally got the process done, I had to go back to the Cadillac dealership. I called Protect My Car and told them that my car is at the dealership and that they need to authorize payment. Once they did that, that’s when the issue came in because the Cadillac dealership had given them estimate and then I had to pay 50% of that. That issue actually happened again when I filed a claim on my Escalade. But still I think Protect My Car has been good and I haven't cancelled it. It's something that’s worthwhile and it saved me money. But they might need to relook that 50% because with my two experiences in using them, I paid more than 50%. They should be doing the haggling before I do my credit card payment.

I make a phone call and they care of everything for me, so my interactions with them are all pleasant. When the truck had to go back into service twice, I never called them on it. I went ahead and paid for it out of pocket the second time. I can always tell a person like if I was going to do it that way, I would say to someone that I can assure them that they won't have any problems with my insurance company. I was going to buy a brand new transmission instead and the shop said they’ll look at it one more time for me before I should do that. They have been really great, simple as that. Their cost is fine. I took my Policy out with Protect My Car 2 years ago. After leaving my car for two weeks, in August I came back to see it was leaking transmission fluid and seemed to have problems shifting. I parked it called a couple of friends of mine who are ASE Certified on what it could be and maybe just check gasket and fluids before deciding to take it to a shop. Well, none of them were able to look at it due to being busy from work and then the holidays. So, I called my insurance and had it towed to a shop, WHAT a MESS! I was told "We pay 100% of the cost. You only need to pay us back anything over the discounted rate". I do not see where that is "paying for it on a corporate card and my having to pay the $100 deductible." Well, To add insult to injury There was no discounted rate.
NOPE the total cost of the repairs was $310 and they paid only $100 of it and guess who had to pay the Majority of it? You guessed it, ME. Like I told them after paying my premiums for over two years now and the most of my discount they paid for my repairs was just a little over $110? I was better off keeping my monthly amount in a savings account and paying for the repairs altogether. This company is a rip off. To top it off? When I did give them the money to pay for the repairs at about 2 pm on Friday (repairs would take two hours) they didn't call the shop to authorize the repairs till I threatened reporting them. THEN a "supervisor" (the second one I might add) Called and authorized it but it was about 4 pm one hour before close, so the shop could not do the repairs until Monday since they are closed on the Weekend. Yeah needless to say I am not impressed with This company.

Your policy guarantees that we will reduce the cost of mechanical repairs by a minimum of 25%. As you noted, your repair bill of $310 was reduced by $100, almost one-third off the estimate. The reason it took two hours to get the payment to your shop was that the shop did additional work after you made your payment. That additional work was approved and paid for at the same time once all was completed.
You might be interested to know that with this protection you have already saved over $380. That is more than a year's worth of premiums on your coverage. W are glad that the policy is working so well for you. We hope you won't hesitate to contact us anytime you have any questions. Thank you for being a long time customer.

So my F250 the TCM went out. Took it to a shop of my choice like warranty says I can and it cost $949.08. So shop calls Protect My Car to put claim in and shop calls me to tell me warranty company needs to talk to me. So I call them to go over it as my warranty is I pay 50% they pay 50%. Well not 1 but 2 employees say it’s good to go and I had to pay my half to them now so being skeptical of it I did 453.00. Well 4 days go by I go to get my truck. Shop says I owe 259.00 still so I pay it to get my truck and call warranty back. Well they tried to tell me they changed the original bid. Well no they did not. I told them.
Well he could not tell me where they changed my bid. He goes and talks to someone and comes back on phone to tell me well they overcharged me and that’s why they didn’t pay the half. They would pay half of 600.00 and some odd dollars. Well so I had 2 options, I could take my truck somewhere else that would match. What warranty would want the price to be well at that in it's no longer my choice of shops it’s their choice and I’ve never known of a shop to lower their prices because a warranty company said it's too high. Mind you they charged me 1 hr of shop labor and parts and diagnostic like any shop and also warranty company told shop I was well aware of the money still owed and they talked to me about it again. A lie from them. So meanwhile I paid 712.00 out of 949.00 not half like I was told not once but 2 times like my warranty said.

We refunded the shop's overcharge, $259.32 to your credit card on January 10. Please check your cc statement to see the refund we provided.
We regret that the shop chose not to honor the invoice amount they provided to us. We are glad to have made it right for you, our valued customer.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

When they say that they're looking for a deal for you they're really not there looking for a deal for their self so when you get your estimate and it goes into them and they call the shop and tell them that they can find something cheaper and ask the shop if they'll go lower and match that price and if the shop does they actually pocketing that extra money. It's not you that they're protecting to give you guys the better deal like when I purchased it.
I was told that how claims works is that they will get the best deal for you and then know the best deal is for them not you and then when you have a supervisor that last that you on the phone because you say that that doesn't make any sense. That kind of makes you pissed for the original building was 3744.30 was their quote. They got them to go down to $3,320 so out of that I paid like 1870 something and they ended up paying like 1440 something and then when I called roadside they couldn't help me. I had to call claims and then by the time I called claims there was no one around they were closed

Your policy guarantees that you will pay no more than 50% of the shop's estimate for the repair. We accomplish that by reducing parts cost, labor cost and paying any difference to make sure you pay no more than 50% of the original estimate.
On your first repair, your shop quoted you $1,485.80. After reducing the parts and labor costs, your total cost on the repair was reduced by the guaranteed 50% and you paid only $742.90, as the policy promised.
On your second repair, an engine replacement, the shop you chose to use quoted $3,744.66. Your cost, as you indicated, came to $ 1,872.33, or 50% of the original quote. Again, the policy did exactly what it promised to do.
Those savings, together with the oil changes paid by the policy and rental car benefits you received has saved you a total of $2,164.15. Compare that to the cost of your premiums of just $65 per month. Not a bad deal by any means since you have saved three and a half times what you have spent the policy.
Please take a moment to analyse your savings compared to your cost for the policy then decide for yourself who has pocketed the greater savings.
We are always happy to go over this again with you as we have in the past to make sure you understand how the policy works.
We should also point out that roadside assistance is available 24/7, but after hours you need to call the roadside assistance number on your policy ID card and in your policy, as explained to you and is clearly explained in your policy. If you have any questions about how to get the assistance, please do not hesitate to call us.

I went with ProtectMyCar mainly because of the reviews that I got and their price. My first claim was for a radiator fan control unit which failed and was covered completely. The experience went through smoothly and was nice. I gave my ID card details to the merchant and they took care of it. I paid the deductible and everything which was on paper went well. I was very satisfied with that service and the coverage.
However, the second claim was not that great. I got the best coverage possible, but the car that I drive was not part of the plan and the claim was rejected. The car I drive has an additional component called pressurizer along with the fuel pump. It's a turbo engine and it's required for that. There was a complete assembly change and I expected at least the portion of the fuel pump, as well as that particular assembly on top of that, be covered but the whole bill was rejected and I paid out of pocket. Their reason was that my fuel pump went bad because the pressurizer went bad so they won't cover that.
Protect My Car should have covered at least the components that were listed in the listing. The technology is improving and more components are getting added to the cars. Protect My Car should upgrade coverage that way because new technology is coming. I pay the warranty monthly which was fine. I already spent a lot of payments and I'm now in a dilemma if Protect My Car is going to benefit me in the future or not. Nevertheless, Protect My Car does well. I will recommend them to my friends.

Protect My Car's pricing is good but I have some reservations since. When I initially purchased the plan, they didn't go in detail with what was included and what wasn’t. I didn’t find out until after I purchased the plan and then started to have some problems with the vehicle. As I read closer into the package that they sent me, certain things that I felt should have been covered under the plan were not covered. I have some issues with the suspension flat end and the rear end and they were not covered. They just covered the engine and the transmission. I presumed from the conversations that we had, they were giving me a lot more components that will be covered but did not.
I had made some minor claims and submitting those were difficult. I had an issue with a carpet and they had to go as high as management to get those things covered. When I took my car into the shop, they told me that with this car, I should have revved up the plank closer but I wasn't informed about that when I purchased the plan. The things that I was getting them fixed and assumed they were under the plan were not. So, I wasn’t eligible for a purchase plan or rental car. Also, the customer service wasn't interested in what I had to say.
Now, I've had another bad experience with this plan and I hadn't been able to get my car fixed other than from out-of-pocket. I should have really read first what I'm getting involved in especially when it costs thousands of dollars and I should have done more research. I'm not quite satisfied with Protect My Car and they are not something that I will recommend to a friend.

We do explain in detail the component coverage your vehicle is qualified for at the time you get the policy. We also provide a full 30 days to review the coverage after you purchase a policy with a full money back guarantee.
No policy, no matter who issues it, will ever cover the entire vehicle. Our policies list each and every covered component so you can see right up front what is covered and what is not covered. That is why the policy covered over $1,680 in repairs to your vehicle but could not cover the repair to the tensioner rod, as it was not a covered component.
As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.
Again, thank you for your comments.

I tried and picked the company that met my needs. Protect My Car has been willing to work with me on my payments plus the coverage that they had was somewhat better than others so I signed up with them. Their claims process was fairly easy and went smoothly, but I ended up paying for the car rental because the dealership did not put the amount of days that was actually needed to fix my car and they weren't able to get the repair done at the time they said they'll get it done. It wasn't Protect My Car's fault though. It was easy to make payments to them and their customer service was always there to help. But I hate their automated system that calls me constantly and it drove me up the wall. Other than that, they paid to get my car fixed which would’ve cost me so much more and it's still running well. The extended warranty is well worth having.

We do work hard to make sure this protection is affordable for everyone’s budget. It’s all part of not just doing the right thing, but doing things right for each customer.

Although there’s been a few things that weren’t covered that I thought should’ve been, submitting a claim with Protect My Car has been okay for the most part. Also, making the payments is easy because I’ve set it up on auto draft. When I got stranded in another city on the other side of the bridge, I tried to use Protect My Car’s 24/7 road assistance. I was on the phone with them for half an hour, waiting for them to get there. I did some checking around and the warranty providers all seemed to be equitable and the pricing was the same. I was a little worried about Protect My Car because they went through a couple name changes. But in the end, it seemed to be an okay outfit. The $85 payment comes out of my checking account every month. Submitting a claim with them wasn't smooth, and it was maybe more with the dealer. I have a Subaru, and the dealer didn't have the equipment to do the diagnosis. The claim was for the air conditioning, and the clutch went too and it got misdiagnosed. I ended up paying for the repair several times and putting a lot more out of pocket than I thought I would. It really kind of frosted me. The car's sitting in the driveway and I got to work up the time to go down and hassle with it again and try to get it fixed. All in all, the warranty might be good for certain repairs. But for the overall impact, I don't know if I would do it again.

Claims are processed by the claims department from the diagnosis we receive from the shop you choose to take your vehicle to. We regret that the shop provided an estimate that was not correct, but it is the shop that does the diagnostic work, not our adjusters. Anytime you find that the shop you choose to use has not done a good job, call us. We work for you, not the shop and we are happy to assist when those situations occur.
By the way, as we develop new programs and benefits, we do give those programs their own individual names, just as vehicle manufacturers give different vehicles different names. It does not mean the company is any different.

Protect My Car's price was $600 and everything they were covering seems right up my alley so I signed up. I submitted a claim for my vehicle and the dealership had already said that the motor was going out, but Protect My Car said they'll cover it but they can't do anything until the motor goes out. So we took my car off from the dealership, drove it around, a month or two later the motor went out. There's no power in the motor. The dealership called Protect My Car back and they said they'd only cover so much for the motor because they go off the value of their car. My motor was running about $8,000 they wanted to give up for and I paid the other $4,000 or $5,000.
They don't tell people when they get the insurance, the value blue book is $2,000 and the motor costs $7,000. They were only giving me up to $2,000. The issue never got resolved because they warranted $3,995 and the cheapest motor they found was about $7,000 not including $2,000 labor. So I was going to be adding more money than Protect My Car was splitting up. Also, they didn't put me in a rental car because the motor needed to be put in before they can even do a rental car. I was left without a car and I'm still without a car. Protect My Car just says, "You have no worries" and they were only good until my car broke down. I will not go through them anymore.

This is the same rule used by insurance companies in determining whether vehicle that was in an accident should be repaired or totaled. No insurance company will spend $4000 in repairing a vehicle with a cash value of $2,000. It is an industry standard.
The difference is that we will spend up to that amount on EACH repair. That is why the coverage paid out over $1,650 in the five repairs prior to the engine failure. That is far more than the premiums paid in on the policy and represents a huge saving to you in repair costs before your engine quit for good.
We are glad the policy saved you so much more than than the policy cost you.

ProtectMyCar called me after I filled out my information online. It sounded like a pretty good deal that ended up not being so at all. I sent my car to the Ford dealership and this dealership sent ProtectMyCar the paperwork. ProtectMyCar originally told me it was something that wasn’t covered even though I took the policy to the Ford service manager who said it clearly was, and so he had to write them a letter. It took a while after that, and the manager said it’s ridiculous and cut-and-dry. He also said, “That’s why we steer people away from this auto market thing because you pay them, thinking you’re covered, and you’re really not.” It took them four months to get a claim taken care of that’s going to take in a week. I got frustrated and I don’t use them anymore.

It turns out that dealership never advised you to perform the manufacturers recommended maintenance to the transmission. That is what contributed to the breakdown in the first place. The dealerships only response was that they consider the manufacturers recommended service timetable a "guideline" only. We would have to wonder, as should you, whether the vehicle would have broken down if you had been advised by the shop to follow the guidelines.
We often find that shops that do not advise their customers to perform recommended service are simply waiting until the vehicle fails, thus allowing the shop to charge for a far more expensive repair than simply charging for the maintenance service in the first place. It is these shops that attempt to, as you said, "steer" their customer away from using professional help.
We are glad that we got the matter resolved and paid for the repair to the transmission.

My lady had found some guy who looked for something to protect our car. Protect My Car said in between the 30 days, we just needed a tow. If the car broke down, they would provide that for us and after 30 days, we'd be good to go. If we needed any type of work done to the vehicle, it would be a $100 deductible. We can go to a certified mechanic or anywhere we choose to. And that was pretty much good.
I have submitted a claim and it was awesome. Everything's a plus with me with those guys. When I went into a dealership, I told Protect My Car what was going on. They had the dealership to call them. The dealership didn't know that Protect My Car was that good. The claims department okayed them to start the vehicle. They finished it and they charged me what the deductible was. It was pretty fast. As far as the rental car I needed, I got the paperwork for it and gave it to Protect My Car. In not even 10 days, the check was in the mail. Everybody was pretty much on top of everything. However, if it was an engine problem or something like that, then Protect My Car would have a claim adjuster to come out in excess to that and see its actual problem. But other than that, Protect My Car is pretty good.
I owed them $225 but I told them I'm gonna give it to them on Friday 'cause I have moved and my kid's going to college. Which leads me to another problem I have with them. I didn't like that they call a day before to remind about the money I owe. It's annoying. But anything else is pretty cool. Making the payment's a really easy process and the lady was really nice on the phone. I told her they should give a memo that I would be paying on Friday, so they won't keep calling. They're pretty good about all of that good stuff, so I really like them. I'm gonna tell other people about the company.

I had a very good experience with ProtectMyCar. Their price was was within my budget so I went with them. They also worked with me because I was a veteran and gave me a special additional discount. I do direct deposit for payments and it's simple. When I had to submit a claim, I called them first to make sure I knew what I was doing. The lady told me to take my car to the dealership and to give them the number of the ID card that I have and that they'd take it from there. I just had to put my deductible down and that was it. It was very simple and easy.
The claims rep that I talked to was very helpful and friendly. They gave me fees adjustments to make it a lot simpler for me. They also helped me do what I needed to get done so when I went to get services, I was already prepared to deal with the situation at hand. When I need them, I know they’ll be there for me. I would highly recommend them to anybody who needs their services.

I've had an auto warranty with Protect My Car for about a year and they've fixed my car twice. The dealer submitted the claim and Protect My Car paid on time, and everything was fine. But I need my invoice and I've been telling Protect My Car to send me the invoice every month. I couldn't pay this month because I don't have an invoice. I pay everything by check and I don't pay anything online. I've been calling them repeatedly about this. They have my PO Box address and they say the invoice is on the way, but I never got it so I'm past due with my payment. I also used their roadside assistance one day but they never showed up, even though I pay for that service. I've had a very bad experience with them.

I submitted a claim once to ProtectMyCar and it took a while because ProtectMyCar didn’t want to pay the amount once the dealer had told them how much it was. They went back and forth and the process took a couple of days. The whole time I was still able to drive my vehicle but it really needed to be fixed right away. The attendant from the car dealer had to fight with ProtectMyCar to fix my car so it discouraged me a bit because I’m paying my money monthly and I thought things were just going to work out without a problem. Also, one time, I couldn’t open my car about a couple of months ago so I’ve called ProtectMyCar. But it was on a Saturday and they were closed. So it was a friend of mine who had AAA that helped me.

Our primary goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide good peace of mind.

My husband is an army vet so ProtectMyCar gave us a discount. It’s the reason we chose them over different auto warranty providers. I have submitted a claim and it’s about a problem with my car window. They took a while when I went to the dealership, but they were able to get everything they needed to fix my window. I paid $100 for the parts.
The claims process was easy enough. It was the gentleman at the car dealership who did it. I call them every month to make payments since I didn’t give them permission to take the money directly out of my account. Looking back, I did attempt to submit a second claim. It was a bit disappointing for me to find out from the mechanic that it wasn’t covered. I never heard from ProtectMyCar about it.

I’m in the car business so I know a lot more about the warranties. I’d spoken to a rep before when the company was still called Solace. When we got to ProtectMyCar, I ended up talking to him again, and the relationship that he and I had, as well as the pricing, absolutely made me choose them. I had one claim and for the most part, it was fine. I needed an air compressor for my car, a Mercedes. ProtectMyCar reps found the part, they sent it to Mercedes, and Mercedes put it on. It was a lot cheaper than what it would’ve cost me if I was strictly with Mercedes. The warranty was there for me when I needed it, like how it’s supposed to be, so that’s all that matters to me. They were good and I’ve already been recommending ProtectMyCar to friends.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you again for your very encouraging comments.

For years I’ve had a warranty with Protect My Car for several vehicles such as the Chevy Equinox and the Chevy Tahoe. I had the insurance and I could afford it, and it was very easy for them to take my money for the warranty payments. The Volvo Sedan was under their coverage, too, and it had something that kept on leaking. But they acted like they did not want to pay for the repair work and I went through pure hell getting them to pay for it. They took care of it eventually but they didn't take care of the other things that were promised in the Platinum plan that I got from them. After all of the years that I've been with them and the thousands of dollars that I've paid them, I’ve never used them for roadside assistance, rental cars or other perks and they put me through such difficulty with the sedan. I was disgusted and very dissatisfied with the experience I had with them. Also, they kept changing their name and coverage and I felt like I've been scammed. I will never again associate myself with a company like Protect My Car.

The policies are mechanical break down policies. That means that the policy will over listed components that break down, not things that simply wear out.. No policy covers wear and tear items, like gaskets, tires, spark plugs or other similar items that wear out as they are intended to do.
While we fully understand how difficult it can be on a tight budget to handle regular maintenance costs and replacement of wear and tear items. Remember that you can see these repairs coming as things wear out. You can almost never see an unexpected break down coming. That is the purpose for this coverage. It covers the unexpected break downs that will eventually occur.
We hope that on reflection you will see that the policy can significantly protect you when a break down occurs.

My husband has Protect My Car on his car and he told me about it. The only problem I had was the last claim. Instead of waiting for the invoice from the mechanic they paid him based on what they were told verbally. The problem with that is it turned out that the mechanic never did the work he was supposed to do on my car which resulted in my car in having more problems.
I'm on the dealership now. I have no car and I haven't been able to drive since June 17th because it turned out the timing belt, the stuff that they paid for, they never verified the work was done. It turned out the mechanics send the invoice after they paid them but they never verified the work. It turned out the work that was supposed to be done wasn't done on my car. And now, my car has more problems to the point where my engine is sitting on my seat because it turns out the mechanic did not only do the work properly but he caused more damage to it. I don't understand why they couldn't make the mechanic pay them back, and then cover my car because it's not my fault. I'm gonna need a new engine because the work wasn't done properly. And then, they're not covering so I have no car. Some people want to know where my car is parked on the side of the road, when it could have been avoided.

This was an unusual situation and we regret that the shop has put you through it.
We will be more than happy to assist in any way we can in any claim against the shop. We will stay in touch with you on this.

But filing the claim was easy and I had a very good experience with the rep I spoke with on the phone. It's also easy to do the payments because I did it with my debit card. I would still recommend them.

The repair to your vehicle included replacement of a motor mounts, and replacement of hoses and seals. Your policy is for mechanical component breakdown coverage. That is why the motor mount was covered, while the hoses and seals were not. We are very glad the policy was there to pay for the most expensive part of the repair and that it saved you so much money.
Your policy lists each covered component so there is no guess work as to what is covered. Items such as hoses, seals, tires and similar items are wear and tear items. They wear out, they do not break down. That is why a mechanical breakdown policy does not cover wear and tear items.

Protect My Car is an honest company. I had the warranty for almost two years and although I never had to use it, it was good to have because it was economical in case I had a breakdown. And it would be better to pay $56 a month instead of having to pay for the big thousand dollars for the transmission. The payments on the warranty were easy and it's deducted out of my account. Also, they encourage you to keep it because if you cancel, you pay in a single month. However, I canceled it because if the car broke down now I wouldn't need it. Overall, it's a pretty good deal and program.

The guy from Protect My Car sat down and explained everything to me about their extended auto warranty, and it all made sense. Making payments was easy because the guy was right there and he walked me through everything. But it was a different story when I started to use the warranty. I used it the first time for my Volkswagen Passat and that was a little difficult. I submitted the claim through the dealership. The dealership got permission from Protect My Car to do the repair, then they worked on the car.
But when I drove the car after the repair, the car had the same issue. It wasn’t running properly and I couldn't drive it. I couldn’t even press on the gas tank. So, I sent the car back to the dealership but I was charged the $50 deductible again. I said, "Why would I need to pay it if you're still fixing the same issue?" But the dealership guy said that Protect My Car had told them that I had to pay the $50 deductible again.
I also had an issue with another claim when I went to a Goodyear-type service center to get my Saturn Outlook fixed. Protect My Car said that they wouldn’t allow the service center to fix my car because I couldn’t provide them with the document that my car has had its 100,000-mile checkup. The dealership had told them that the car had all of its checkups but they couldn't find this particular document that Protect My Car was looking for. I talked with Protect My Car and explained to them that I'm in the Air Force and I needed to have my car fixed, but I didn’t have time to be going back and forth. I said, "You see that I could oil change it. I got a tune-up recently. So, I was going to take care of the car. Why can't you just provide the service?" They said, “Well, Sir, we can't provide the service because you have to show that this has been done”, but I said that I don't have time for that.
Another thing was that when I told Protect My Car to cancel my warranty for the Saturn Outlook, they told me that they’d waive it for me but I had to pay $50 to cancel it. They were now telling me stuff that the guy who signed me up didn’t tell me. It wasn’t explained to me that I had to pay to cancel the warranty and that I had to show that I've had checkups on a car in order to have work done on it. I've never had to do that before, from what I experienced with other extended warranty providers.

Thank you for your comments. We are happy to respond to your comments. The coverage paid for the repair and replacement of the vacuum pump on the passat. You paid the standard $100 deductible on that repair. No other claim was filed by any shop on any subsequent repair to the vacuum pump. The shop should have warranted both parts and labor for the repair that they did. If they charged you a $50 "deductible" that was their charge, not ours. Please review the policy. You will see there is no deductible required for any such work. Sometimes shops will charge such a fee when they really shouldn't. That they would blame it on the coverage company is simply not right. Don't ever hesitate to contact us if you have any questions whatsoever.

I had an issue with my car and they took care of the water pump. I also had a problem with the oil pan gasket, which wasn’t covered. I was a little bit disappointed with that because it didn’t cover seals. There’s a lot of labor involved when replacing a seal in that car. By itself, it was $3,000 to get that done. That was out of pocket. When I took my car in they had it for about a week. I had a loaner which was only like a dollar a day rental. The representatives were pleasant, friendly and helpful. They explained to me my contract and what was covered and what was not covered.
The price was fair and the coverage was good for what I need. Payments automatically come out of the account. That set up was good. My experience with ProtectMyCar has been good so far. There was a couple of things that might have been wrong with our car that they wouldn’t be able to fix, but I think it was more because our car is older and we don’t have that package. They wouldn’t cover that for us. Everything else is good. However, I have gotten complaints from people, not specifically for ProtectMyCar though, that they find using these warranties could be a pain in the butt.
Mechanics are pretty busy as it is and then they have to stop their busy schedule to work on the claims with the companies and it's not a five-minute phone conversation. Among other things, they get annoyed that they had to have a card number for this or part number for that, even takes longer sometimes to get stuff done. I have one person who told me they won’t use it anymore because of all these reasons. But I guess the warranties pay them quickly. And as for me, since I don’t really do the claim myself, I find ProtectMyCar reliable and quick.

I wanted a warranty. At that time, Protect My Car worked with me at a price which I thought was a good one and I could afford to pay. However, I had a terrible experience when I filed a claim with them. I was driving my Chevy Avalanche down the road, and all of a sudden, it went out. The engine was running and the truck just closed it to a stop. I got out and I looked at it—no potholes nor leaks. I called Protect My Car. They sent somebody out to pick the truck up and then took it to a Chevy dealer. I took the truck to a Chevy dealer in Swanton, Ohio, which is close to where I live and a certified Chevy dealer. Because that dealer sells and maintains Chevy's, they know Chevy trucks too. They checked the truck out, and said, "Yes. The transmission has gone." They called Protect My Car and I was told that this is a covered claim.
My truck stayed at McNeill Chevy at Swanton. Protect My Car decided that rather than to put in a new transmission into it, they would put a light quality transmission in my truck. And I told them at first, I did not like that because my truck had a transmission and it did not leak nor slip. I had no problems with it. I said I prefer them to replace the transmission. They said, "Well, we're going to do it this way." And then I didn’t argue anymore.
Protect My Car sent me a transmission that has bad gasket and seals in it. McNeill checked it all out and put it in my truck. Three months later, I got an oil change and my transmission's leaking. So I called Protect My Car back and I told them that the transmission they put in my truck is leaking. I was told that my warranty did not cover seals and gaskets. I said, "Wait a minute, the transmission in my truck did not have a seal or gasket problem. That is your transmission that you put in my truck. And it has a seal and gasket issue."
So back to McNeill, I said, "You call the warranty company, you talk to them about it." So Protect My Car went back and forth with McNeill. They finally sat down and McNeill said, "Look, we put a transmission in there, the seals and gaskets were all good. They all work and didn't leak." McNeill also said that if there was a problem, they wouldn't have put the transmission in and that the problem was that it's got fluid all over the place. Protect My Car argued with me for about a month about the seals and gaskets. I told them that I've never wanted their warranty on it and just fix the transmission. I have another two years on my warranty with Protect My Car. So I told them, "If the guy you bought it from doesn't cover it, you guys cover it."
After a good month of arguing and making numerous phone calls, the guys from Protect My Car weren’t talking to me and were refusing to call me back. When I finally got through them, the guy said, “We'll replace the seals but you're going to have to pay the deductible cash." I said, "Why am I going to pay another $100 deductible plus I got to replace all these fluids again?” I also said, "You guys bought the transmission from somebody who is a lame quality transmission guy and I had a certified mechanic put it in, and now it leaks, and now you're telling me this is my problem because my warranty doesn't cover gasket, seals, and fluids?" I ended up paying my deductible, and I also had to pay McNeill another $75 for the fluids. So three months later, after they put the transmission in my car, I had to put new seals and gaskets in it. I'm really not happy with the service and how Protect My Car did things.
I would not extend my warranty with them nor would go back to them for any other reason. After I paid almost $2000 for my warranty, I had to argue and fight to get them to fix the transmission. I have another year to go on and I breached. I threatened to go ahead and pull out of it. Protect My Car is a rotten company to work with. They do not stand up to what they do, and I would not recommend them to anybody for anything.

As your vehicle had over 130,000 miles on it, we replaced the failed transmission not with a "light" transmission but with one specified by the manufacturer. You were free to request any other transmission and only pay the difference on the cost, which you decided not to do.
We are very glad to have saved you over $3,500 on your repairs to date. That is more than twice the cost of the policy so it has worked out very well for you. We thank you for continuing to be a valued policyholder.
Thanksa gain for your comments.

I was going through car insurance and was looking at the market. I made some phone calls and ProtectMyCar gave the best offer. I went with them not only for the price, but also because they have the friendliest and most helpful representatives. Once, I submitted a claim on the phone and everything went smoothly. They told me I can take the car anywhere, give them the numbers and everything would be taken care of, and it was. While a couple of other places said I had to take my car to certain areas that they choose, ProtectMyCar lets me pick the shop and I liked that.
Also, payments for the extended auto warranty came out automatically which was easy as one, two, three to set up. The rental car benefits were good, too. While I had to pay for the car first, reimbursements came as soon as the paperwork was done. But what I didn’t expect was the towing. They said I only had three miles to take the car, wherever I had to take it, then I would have to pay. I would only be reimbursed for a certain amount of miles and I didn’t like that. Still, I was pretty happy with the experience. Going with ProtectMyCar was one of the best steps I've ever taken and I'd recommend them to a friend.

My experience with ProtectMyCar has been pleasant and easy. I have seen their ad and among the ones that I had checked out, I read that they have the best coverage for my money. I had no problems submitting a claim. I got hold of them very quickly. The shop that serviced my vehicle was in Miami. ProtectMyCar suggested that I use the towing service because while I can get the alternator charged up enough to get it cranked, I might get into some problems along the road. I had them call a tow truck and have the car towed to the Ford dealership.
The only real conflict was the part that I needed to repair the problem with the alternator. The dealership wanted on the alternator was substantially higher than what my car could get the same alternator for. But ProtectMyCar couldn’t get the part until Thursday. So the dealership decided to match the price, but they can’t get the part until Tuesday. My complaint on that was that they were going by their chart on how much time a job takes on whether they were going to pay for the car or not. They eventually agreed that ProtectMyCar will pay for one day, and then the service writer said that the Ford dealership would pick up the other day. That is something they need to put into full effect because although the policy says a certain amount of time, it needs to be reviewed on the individual case basis because it only takes that amount of time if the part’s right there.
Making payments is extremely easy and flexible. I’ve had a couple of times when I had a problem with my checking account. I simply had to call them to hold off for several days so it won’t cost me an overdraft fee. The last time I had to do it, they were supposed to hold off for a week, but they did it in six days so I got a charge at the bank. I let them go since it was my fault to begin with. Despite this, I have already recommended ProtectMyCar to a friend.

I did my homework and searched on the net and ProtectMyCar seems to be the best. But I had a rough experience a couple of times with filing a claim. There were a lot of issues with a problem between a rental of the car and the dealer. I was told that my rental would be covered as long as the car was in the dealer no matter the length of time. The dealer took a long time to fix my car twice and it was beyond my control. ProtectMyCar said that they would not cover the rental as it was beyond five days. I need solutions, not problems. I have enough problem when my vehicle was in the shop and the dealer didn't have the parts and had to request for them. When the parts got in, I had to be in line for the repairs and that took a long time as well. I was told by ProtectMyCar that if they didn't have the parts, they would get them, but that was not true. That was a lie in both occasions.
They needed to repair the computer that makes the car fire the engines and ProtectMyCar did not keep their promise in getting the parts. The second time was that they sent my gas tank for which they said they would get the part but never did. Finally, the supervisor talked to the dealer and ProtectMyCar paid for the rental in part while the dealer paid the balance. I was happy but it was a continuous fight for two months which is unnecessary. Because of this bad experience, I'm going to give ProtectMyCar the benefit of the doubt that the company will take care of me better next time. Getting my car fixed was something between the dealer and ProtectMyCar to get their heads together and get the part through. For a while, I thought that I would have to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars in rental out of pocket but ProtectMyCar took care of me beyond any means possible coming from excellent business.

Your policy provides rental car reimbursement for up to 7 days at $30 per day. As a gesture of goodwill since the shop kept your vehicle for over a week more than it should have, we authorized 12 days of rental car expenses. We were happy to do what we could to assist you. Bottom line, though, is we do not control the shops and the delays they may experience in getting a repair done. We are very glad that we were able to assist you with the cost and save you so much money.

Protect My Car called me a long time ago and I felt confident talking to them. I have a 2008 Mercedes and they offered me good protection so I went with them. Submitting a claim was good. They let me pick which shop I would go to as I service my car at the Mercedes dealer, so most of the time when I take it there, the dealer takes the information, then they contact Protect My Car, and the dealer tells me to pay the deductible. The dealer is good in taking care of my car. In paying the warranty, Protect My Car takes my payments out of my checking account directly. It was very simple and easy to set that up.
One issue I had is when I took my car to the dealer, they told me that there was a problem with the intake on the engine so I needed to have that fixed and take care of it. The intake is supposed to be part of the engine, but Protect My Car said that it's not, so it's not covered by the warranty. I had that problem fixed but it's still there. I also have to pay out of my pocket. Other than that, everything was fine. Overall, my experience with Protect My Car was fine and was okay with me. It's worth every penny.

Remember, no policy, no matter who issues it, will cover all components. Engines are made up of individual components. Most are covered, but some are not. Your policy lists each and every covered component so there is no guess work when a repair is required.

I was pleased with Protect My Car so I got a warranty from them. Setting up the payments for the warranty was easy. So far, I've only had one claim for a problem with the water pump, but it wasn’t covered and I had to pay out of my pocket for the repair. At first it was hard to submit the claim. I figured that if the claim was for the radiator and the same people had worked on it, then that claim would have been covered. Both the claim for the radiator and that for the water pump are pretty much the same deal for me, so I didn’t understand why the water pump wouldn’t be covered. Other than that, I had a good experience with Protect My Car and their service was good.

The policy lists each component covered under the policy so there is no guess work in understanding which components are covered. Any time you have any question, though, please let us know. We are here to help.

It’s easy to file claims with Protect My Car. I brought my car to the mechanic and they communicated with Protect My Car and then took care of the claims. I was also able to use Protect My Car's road side assistance in one occasion wherein everything went smoothly.

Our goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide that.
Thanks once again for those great comments. Remember, we are still here to help again when the need arises.

At the beginning, submitting the claim has been fast, but I had a flat tire a week ago and I called Protect My Car to see where I'm not going to somehow repair my car and they said I wasn't covered for it. That was disappointing. I decided I'll go ahead and chop it and so I talked to someone at Protect My Car. But they convinced me to stay with them and give them the chance. The person that I spoke with told me that I can get back in contact with him if I ever have a problem and he'll resolve it. Also, he said he would put me in for more oil changes.
Protect My Car should improve on their road assistance. If I'm broke down on the side of the road and there's someone I could ask anytime to give me a gallon of gas and the person that bought it should be included. When I had AAA I didn’t have that problem. AAA will just come out to tell you if you need gas and it's real good no matter the type of car you're in.

We thank you again for your comments.

ProtectMyCar called me, I got them and I’ve been using them for the last couple of years. I call in to submit a claim and it's plain, easy and simple. Overall, it’s been a wonderful experience and I'm going to call to see if I could get another policy signed up with them. They are reliable and reasonable. As long as the $100 deductible is paid, they will fix whatever they say they will. I suggest everyone to get the service, especially if they cover someone off on their car. It’s a good plan to have for backup.

The best part is, we are here to help you the next time you need us as well.

I saw Protect My Car on the internet. They were the first one that I tried after my other insurance expired. Submitting the claim with them was pretty easy. I did it over the phone and their reps were very helpful. My payment is on autopay, so it’s extremely easy too. However, when Protect My Car was selling, they just stuck away from all-inclusive or bumper-to-bumper coverage because there have been a few things that weren't covered that I thought would be covered. Also, there were some things that my car didn’t even possess that were covered by the policy.

Thanks again for your comments and the rating. We appreciate it very much.

When I started with ProtectMyCar, it was Solace and in the beginning, their pricing was cheaper than all the rest. They do it for four years instead of two, which makes the monthly payment lower. There was a time when I had a conversation with an individual that wasn’t very pleasant and I had one claim where they only paid a certain amount, but overall, they were okay.

Thanks again for your comments. We look forward to hearing from you any time you have any questions.

It’s been a good experience with Protect My Car, so far. They approached me and they have better coverage. For the past two years, I had only one claim with them and it went well. They have the showroom front of it to contact Protect My Car directly instead of me submitting the claim. I do auto payments and they’re going smooth. I maintain my payments very good on the credit card. I’ve used their roadside assistance about twice now—when the battery was down and when I needed help for the flat tire. There were a lot of miscommunication. We had to reach out to Protect My Car’s roadside assistance to see how far the other parties are coming to the place. So when I had to call, I had to give all the information all over again to make them understand. That's a painful part.

I've submitted claims to Protect My Car but nothing that I have submitted has been covered. I was told that things that were under the hood would have been covered. However, every time I bring my car to be serviced, Protect My Car has claimed that nothing that was wrong with the car is covered by their warranty. And so, I've been paying them every month for nothing.
I've also had a representative tell me that they would do the oil changes and the tire rotation for the remainder of my membership. But then at the end of 2016, I was told that it was only allotted for a year. I've been having a lot of issues with my car recently and I don't have the finances to cover it. While Protect My Car's roadside assistance has been okay, their maintenance perks haven't been so. Buying an extended warranty from them has been a waste of my money.

According to the history of your policy, you filed five claims, two oil changes, a tow, a repair to your alternator and a replacement of your catalytic converter. All of these claims were paid for by the policy with the exception of the catalytic converter. That claim was denied because the catalytic converter is not a covered component under your policy.
We hope that upon reflection you will see how much you have saved on repairs compared to the small premiums you have paid.
As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.
Again, thank you for your comments.

I’m very happy and pleased with Protect My Car. I saw them on a T.V. ad. When I called them, I learned that they have more coverages than what the other companies that I called cover. The people who helped me from this company were very courteous and professional in handling my situation. They treated me very well when I filed a complaint and when I needed something fixed on my car. They did it quickly and without hesitation. Submitting claims was a very swift process as well. Their reps told me to go straight to my dealer, where I bought my car, and they'd take care of everything.
When I first got it in, there was no problem making payments. But then I got laid off from my job and I went into the hospital. So now I'm on disability and I can't go back to work for a while. I'm only getting a small amount from some disability. I don't have the money to pay the premium on the policy, so I haven't been able to make the payments for a while. But looking at the prices, they were very reasonable.

We are sorry that you are having these problems and want to help.
We do work hard to make sure this protection is affordable for everyone’s budget. It’s all part of not just doing the right thing, but doing things right for each customer. We'll be in touch to see how we might be able to help with the premiums.

Some of Protect My Car's stuff was awesome and they were different from anybody else so, I went with them. But after I used them, I figured out they are pretty much the same with anybody else. It’s not something that Protect My Car can’t do that I thought I could do but can’t do. I just thought it would cover more stuff than what it covered. But they say to read the fine print. I had a lot of stuff that I needed them for that they haven’t been able to handle. Then, the one thing they handled took a long time. I don’t know they have to go through so much to approve stuff, but that’s part of it too.
One time, I had been looking some of my truck and the shop ended up keeping my truck about a week because they had to wait on ProtectMyCar to send somebody to check it out and inspect it. So, I ended up having to pay the extra time to keep it. I also kept calling back and ask them to get on it and take care of the issue before the shop closes. I had to make them move. That’s only the bad part I’ve been and I was a little frustrated about. But I was happy that they were able to take care of my problem. It just took them a long time to do it, and I had to pay extra money for that. But typically, it takes them about eight hours to work on a claim if it’s a little or simple claim. They're always nice on the phone and calling in to submit the claims was easy, but the part to get them to approve takes a little leg work. I've submitted four claims but only two have been taken care of.
Another thing is that they never told me that I have a rental car. I tried to get it when they had my car the first time. They told me I got to pay it for myself, send back the paperwork to them and they'll get my money back in a week or two. So, I'm still paying for it but I got to submit a whole other claim which is too much trouble. Also, if they had the same people that handle my claim call me when my payment is not paid on time, they’d be awesome. If those people work in the same department, Protect My Car would be a great company.

All of our policies list in regular size print all of the components covered by the policy. We do that so there is no misunderstanding or confusion about what is covered. It is very easy to see exactly what is covered.
The policy is also very clear that we will reimburse you for rental car expenses up to $30 per day for up to seven days. As always, all you need do is call and ask. We are here to help.
Some claims and repairs do take more time than others. We want to make sure repairs are done right the first time. We do not want you to have to go back in for a second time to fix the same problem. It can take more time, but the results are worth it.
Lastly, we are glad to help you if you need it regarding your billing. Again, all you have to do is call and let us help.
Thanks again for your comments.

I have checked other auto warranty provider and the salesman from Protect My Car called me and he lowered the price a good amount to meet my budget. Payments were easy. They'll grab a credit card and take it right out each month. I submitted a claim because I had a transmission go on a Honda Civic and it sat for two days. They had to come out, look at it and make sure it wasn’t a false claim. They did it for two days and that was an inconvenience for me. They say they'll pay a rental car for a week but I had to pay for some of the rental car. They shipped the transmission the cheapest way by freight from Florida to California which took a week. They finally put it in but it wasn't the best.
I also had an air compressor go out and I asked if they will still look at it. They told me that they will talk to a mechanic and the claim went in. I also had a minor bearing needed to be fixed and those aren't covered .Some things were good, some were not so good. You got to read the book and really read these extended warranties. They'll cover a bunch but there are some things that don't get covered too.

We warrant all parts for 12,000 miles or 12 months and while some repairs do take longer than others, we are glad that your repairs have saved you so much money. That's how you judge how well a policy is working for you.

I’m in Baltimore, Maryland and I brought my car from Dallas, Texas. In Texas they do not allow to give you warranty. So a couple of months after I got the Mercedes I went and bought a pickup truck for a business of mine and they offered me a good warranty there. I asked a bunch of questions and they told me everything I wanted to hear and got me on the plan.
Everything was a little bit fine but I just had a little bad experience at the beginning. They gave me a hard way to go about taking care of something. When I first ordered a vehicle part specifically asking them am I allowed to go to the dealership they said I could go wherever I want. But every time they called in my mechanic called me back saying they’d given him a hard way to go. I got a Mercedes so I was trying to keep the Mercedes parts on there. But there was a dude trying to price match. One time my mechanic called to say they found a part way cheaper and they just sent that. The part was fixed but I ended up just taking the cheap part just to get it over with and move on.

We always make sure that the parts installed in our policyholders vehicles are the right parts for that vehicle. We warrant those parts for 12 months or twelve thousand miles.
Unfortunately, we have had experience with some shops that claim to install the manufacturers part and, instead, put in a less expensive alternative. The price they charge the customer would be for the original manufacturer's part. We are not saying your mechanic would do that at all. It is simply good practice to make sure the right parts are being used to repair our policyholders vehicles. If we did not, we would likely be paying for many more repairs due to inferior part breakdowns.
