I thought that a service contract for my vehicle was a good deal and it would work, so I decided to get one. Protect My Car was the first one that offered at the time so I purchased from them. My interactions with their rep was pretty good. They were confident, generous and kind. I also talked to their customer service reps when the catalytic converter on my SUV was going out and they were nice. Unfortunately, it wasn't covered. But I was able to use the policy to have the oil changed and the process was kinda long. I had to wait a while to get my claim approved as the service provider had to wait a long time on the phone to get through to someone to have it approved.

Thanks again for your comments.

I had both my vehicles covered with Protect My Car, but I cancelled one policy. Before I received this policy, I made sure that I asked the guy who was selling me this policy if sensors and all these stuff were covered on my vehicle ‘cause I paid out-of-pocket last time. He said yes and he would give me the best coverage. My vehicle broke down and they covered the compressor. All that went out of my Mercedes. And I came out-of-pocket by $4,000. I asked Protect My Car what was the use of me paying them every month for the coverage. So I cancelled that. I got a Cadillac Escalade on coverage now and I’m reading over some of the stuff that’s covered and I don’t know if I’m gonna cancel it, too, and find somebody else to cover it.
My provider before didn’t cover as much stuff as Protect My Car covers and that was why I went with Protect My Car. The interaction with the rep went very well when I purchased the warranty. You just read between the lines when you get the contract. When you get the contract, it’s something totally different from what they say to you. It’s misleading and they weren’t honest with me.

Thank you for your comments and for trying Protect My Car. We regret that you did not see the value in the coverage. The purpose of the policy is to pay the cost of covered repairs less the deductible. No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage. Again, thank you for your comments

I ain’t had the best experience with warranty companies, but I gotta keep a warranty because my car needs one. I saw an ad for Protect My Car and I looked at the review. When I talked to them, their price was right for the coverage. They impressed me enough to make me spend my money. I bought the best plan I could and I didn’t even know my navigation system was part of the plan. I got tints and I can’t see with all these curtains so I need my back-up camera. But the TV where you pull up everything went out. I didn’t know that meant so much until it was gone. I need my TV to back up. I called Protect My Car and the rep said he would look into it. He then called me back and said he wanted to talk to the dealer, and that they were gonna fix it. I paid my deductible and went, then picked my car up. And they had the stuff back like new. People should get Protect My Car.

I had a claim on my extended auto warranty provided by Protect My Car and it went great. I called them first and there was some talking between us. The timing belt needed to be changed and at the beginning, they said they don't cover it. The first lady who answered me was not very friendly and I felt like I just pay money and nobody helps me when I need the help. She was not very good, to the point that I said, “Okay, I’m gonna cancel my warranty extension.” Then, she sent me to another guy who was much better, and he told me, “No,” and he helped me.
Before I started the policy, my car at that time was 90,000 and I asked, “If I’m going to change my timing belt, are you gonna pay for this?” Their representative said, “For sure.” Then when I called, the lady told me, “No. We don’t pay for that. You have to go and change the timing belt and if it’s broken, then we fix it.” I said, “Really?” So, anyway, in the end, they asked to me to go to any mechanic and the mechanic made a quotation then he sent it to them. A guy was sent and he checked the car, then he approved the parts for the fixing the car. They paid a part and I paid another part.

I purchased a service contract for my car by accident. I was calling for Rocky Mountain Health Insurance and the number of Protect My Car was almost the same number, but I dialed it by accident and the guy presented their policy to me. I ended up getting it though initially, I had no knowledge about them. When he explained everything over the phone with me, they didn't sound bad and I decided to give it a shot. He was very good at explaining but in the beginning, I didn't like how much I was paying for the next four years. But he was telling me that I have a 5-year warranty on it and on my last year, I'd pay nothing. So, I’m paying now but at least on my fifth year, I'd be paying nothing and my car is still protected.
Other than that, they were gonna pay half of anything that would be wrong, mechanically, with my vehicle and that got my attention. Then, I needed roadside assistance and I was getting rid of AAA because I wasn’t happy with Colorado AAA. I heard the New York one was much better. I was pleased that Protect My Car offered that service to me and it comes with the policy. And if I get stranded somewhere out, far away from my destination, they’re willing to pay for my hotel space. On top of that, they give you rent-a-car for three days if your car needs any kinda repair. I don't use those things on a regular basis but it felt good just to have them with the policy. If you need the service, it’s there. If you don't need it, it’s still there.
So far, I used the service twice already. The first time, they dropped the ball on that because the guy never came and changed my tire. But eventually, he came. Then, the second time, I used the service to get my oil changed and it was amazing. I went in there, they did the work, there were no bills, and I walked right out of there. I recommended Protect My Car to my friends as well. I told them to let me try it out and I will let them know within a year how everything turns out. I told them to let me be the guinea pig, so if anything goes wrong, they don't have to worry about losing their money. But so far, I like it.

I was looking for an extended warranty a couple of years ago, and I went online and started looking at the various companies that provide it. I happened to wind up with Protect My Car and then, the car that I had at that time was totaled. When I purchased another car, I went back to them. Comparing the cost and everything, it probably had the best price. I asked companies about certain items that they covered or didn’t cover, and Protect My Car had the lowest deductible. Also, they covered more items than some of the other groups that I talked with. The rep from Protect My Car was willing to answer my questions, so the interaction was fine. When I went to have my car taken care of, I gave the dealership my card and they called it in. They said Protect My Car covered it so making a claim was not a problem at all.

Our primary goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide good peace of mind.

My experience with Protect My Car has been good, so far. I got them so I could have help with repairs, but I didn't read the fine print. Apparently, it doesn't help with anything with exhaust and that’s all the issues that I’m having right now. I contacted them before I brought the vehicle in to the mechanic and Protect My Car said they don’t cover anything with the exhaust. Their customer service reps were good though. I would recommend them but I would definitely let whoever I’m recommending know what they don't do.

I liked the price Protect My Car told me when I spoke to them. I had to do an auto repair claim on a vehicle, and everything went by pretty smoothly. Both the representatives were pretty helpful. Protect My Car could be cheaper though but it’s good to know that if I have any major problems, that I won’t be paying for it all on my own out of pocket. So far, they’ve been keeping up with their side of the bargain. I haven’t had any issues with them. I guess because all my paperwork and everything was right on my vehicle, but my experience with them has been pretty good.

We do work hard to make sure this protection is affordable for everyone’s budget. It’s all part of not just doing the right thing, but doing things right for each customer.

I'm a senior, 80 years old, with very little money and Protect My Car seems to have a good program going and seemed to be reasonable. The rep was good and convinced me. I pay for the warranty every month and the cost is okay. It's nice if it can be a little cheaper though because I am on a very tight fixed income. I have gotten a little car, go back and forth to church and to the store, and I need the warranty. I'm just trying to get the cheapest thing that's gonna work. But having the warranty makes me feel really great and I don't need my car to be stopping nowhere.

I needed some extra insurance and Protect My Car seemed to give me a better deal. The rep was very professional when I first got it. But I was getting ready to cancel not too long ago until they figured out something ‘cause I called them a couple times, and they weren’t covering anything. But someone made a mistake when I called. It was a wheel bearing issue, and they didn't cover it, but come to find out that they do cover it. But they're now punishing me. They're giving me a reimbursements, but I’m being punished, not getting my full amount because they said I didn't call, but I did. Other than that, everything is fine. I’m still waiting on my reimbursement.
I’m also not satisfied when they do a reimbursement, telling me it takes 30 or 45 days. That doesn't make sense. I called them in September. I probably won’t get my reimbursement ‘til the end of October. If my car is in the shop and it’s something that they cover, I guess my car would be in the shop for 30 days. 30 days is a bit much. I’ve had reimbursements before, and they told me 7 to 10 days. And when they said 30 days, I almost fell over. But I’m a little more satisfied with the service contract now than I was.

Protect My Car is fantastic. The woman that I dealt with was very good and very aggressive. She wanted to get the deal done. She was very knowledgeable. She may have called like a couple times. I had a meeting and she called me back at the right time where I was able to hear what she was trying to sell and how she was telling us the benefits of the plan that we were trying to do and how important it was for our cars so that it should be protected. So, I got both our Mercedes and the GMC done. I filed a claim for the Mercedes. They got it fixed, and it’s back up and going. That process was good. They were trying to prompt me back some questions so that we are clear on some things.

Protect My Car gave me a call about the warranty. And at the time, I didn't have any extended coverage on my own car. Protect My Car has a reasonable price. Their rep gave me good details on what was going on. He knew what he was talking about from what I interacted with him. But I didn't agree, when my motor went out, that I had to come out pocket. They said there was a discrepancy on one of the information that was provided. But they didn't get back with me. They told me they already knew the matter is on the car. They said the guy gave them the wrong matter. I gave them everything I needed, and I gave them everything they asked me for. And it’s like it didn't go for what they were talking about on the front end.
Also, when there was a problem, they couldn't fix it. They were sitting on the information for seven months, and they never said anything. I paid them for seven months, and then, once my motor went out, they said, “I need to know the matter. I need to know your oil checks, how long you’ve been having your oil….” None of that was provided before I even got the insurance. I don't keep receipts, so I had to go to the places to get the receipts. When I provided them with it, they told me there was a discrepancy. I get them all the information that they need, but I still had to come out of pocket.
I had to pay 3,200 for the whole motor myself, and then, they said they're gonna pay for the motor being put in but I still had to been out of more money for the stuff that goes on the motor. They only thing they covered was strictly the motor being put in. I won’t recommend anybody. The dude that I talked to provided good information but when I had the problem, it didn't happen as smoothly as what he said it would be. They did jump out, but they didn't jump how they said they were gonna jump because I was out of too much money out of my own pocket. I never got reimbursed at all.

Protect My Car is doing an absolutely fantastic job. There was a young lady that I spoke with, Quanisha. When the gentleman had me to talk to her, she expressed and explained what their coverage covered and everything on it. Besides that, there was a coupon deal with their service, I was sold. I wrote a nice letter to the company. I asked the gentleman to read it inside meetings so they can hear what customer service was about.
When I filed a claim I wrote all information down on the little card, like a credit card. I handed it to the lady. The next thing I knew, she walked into me and said the servicing company would be sending the parts that week, and she would call me when she would get them there, and tell me when I could come and get the vehicle serviced. I didn’t have to do anything. She did it all over the phone. This was on a Saturday. I went there 8 o’clock in the morning, and she said they don’t open up until 12:00.
And what happened was that I was sent the wrong parts. They didn’t send the complete parts. So that was how I got in touch Andrew, the claim adjustment guy. He was fantastic. He told me, “Don’t worry about anything.” He says, “I’ll take care of everything that you need to be taken care of. Anytime you have a problem or question, contact me.” I was talking to him with regards to one of the parts they sent because one of the parts they sent was the fuel pump, and the fuel pump itself is making a noise. When I asked them about the noise, they said that wasn't the fuel pump they sent. But other than that, it’s been fantastic. Andrew took care of everything.

I looked for extended warranty as a means to ward off high expensive car services and prices. I was considering other providers and ended up choosing Protect My Car. I liked their price and my interaction with their rep was okay. Two months ago, I've had some real minor work done on my car and it was the mechanic who filed the claim. The service I was provided with was okay but Protect My Car paid only half of the fee. I'll try to get another warranty because I’m looking for someone to pay the whole thing instead of 50%.

Protect My Car called and I needed warranty on my car. I thought I had roadside service and I didn’t know I had to pay a percentage of that, which was what the rep told me yesterday when I called and told them my car wouldn’t start. The people at Tipton Ford said that if Protect My Car doesn’t pay once my car is fixed, it will be there until I pay. I can’t afford what they say was wrong with my car. If I had been stuck between here and Houston, I’ll still be there but I was glad that I was at home where it wouldn’t start. My car is still sitting out there in the driveway and with my experience, I was dissatisfied with Protect My Car. Before this claim, I got something wrong with my tire that was supposed to be fixed but the part was on back order. So, I have to wait until the 29th of this month to see if it will be fixed.

Thank you for your comments. For some older, higher mileage vehicles., repairs can be very expensive. Protect My Car is one of the few companies that helps these owners with the cost of repairs. The coverage saves you 50% of the cost of your repairs. If that is still too much for your budget, we will still be here to help when you are ready to proceed.

Protect My Car called me and I figured getting a warranty was a good thing to do. When my transmission went out, I was able to file a claim and the process went well. It was really smooth and whoever worked on it did a very good job. I was without my vehicle for 3 days after I turned it in, but it was over the weekend and they got me a rent-a-car. It was a fast process and I just had to pay a $100 deductible.
Protect My Car has certain places that I could choose from to where to take the car, and a lot of it was a licensed place. But I just normally take my car straight to the dealership. My car has a CVT transmission and they're supposed to be not replaceable. At first, I thought that it was not covered with the policy and I was gonna pay for the $3,000 myself but then it was like, “It’s probably parts of the transmission, not the whole transmission.” So, I called them and they had an inspector come out, and I took him to where I got my car from, Nissan. When the inspector came out, they did everything and they called me back and asked me when I would go ahead proceed with it. So, it was so good.

The best part is, we are here to help you the next time you need us as well.

So far, I have used Protect My Car a couple of times. Protect My Car said they will pay half of my bill and that's about the only option that they gave me. Also, they didn't tell me I had three free oil changes a year and that they would do tire rotation on my vehicle. I only found out after the fact, which is great, because I already used the oil change once at a Jiffy Lube. That's when I called back again when it's not the change oil I wanted. It would have been nice to know that I have those options because that's definitely a plus. Three free oil changes a year, I'm all about that!
The first time I filed a claim, it got all screwed up, and I ended up paying the garage the whole amount. I was supposed to call Protect My Car back on a Saturday. They didn't open until 10 o'clock on Saturday and I had to go to work at 6 o'clock. Nobody ever called me back. And then, they canceled the claim after I had it fixed. So, I had to go back and fight with somebody else to get them to pay me back because I ended up just flipping the whole bill. They ended up mailing me a check back for half. I'm in the military, I'm used to chasing down people trying to get stuff done. So, that's nothing new for me. if you want something bad enough, you're gonna chase it down, and you're gonna play phone tag. And I know it was probably not the way it should have went, but that was the way it went.
The second time I called in, the garage was way overwhelmed. I ended up stepping in, talking to the lady from Protect My Car. Apparently, Protect My Car wanted him to fax stuff over and he said, "This is such a pain. Don't ever come back to my garage if you plan on using your warranty again because this is more work than it's worth." But I don't wanna go into a regular dealership because I know that if you go there, they're gonna charge you an astronomical amount of money. In the end, I was given a total bill of 700 bucks and I gotta pay 350, when I could've went through my mechanic and it's only 200 bucks, and I would've only had to pay 100! But still, I'm happy I was able to get the car done and I was satisfied I was able to get my money back.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

When I signed up with Protect My Car, I thought they're really good but the problem started when it was time we needed help. They were not very nice to talk to when I call them back and I had a hard time asking them for help. I asked them if they can pay for some of the stuff and after that, even just I change the battery. First, they said they can pay if I'm going to put on the automatic starter. I've been paying for over a year and I didn't even ask for help with the oil change. They paid my bill for changing the windows, which is nice, but I asked them for help a couple of weeks ago and it's really sad. So, I wouldn't continue paying every month and I pretty much don't wanna deal with them anymore. I also don't think I would ever recommend them.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you feel the way you do. We understand you wanted the coverage to pay for your oil change in addition to the repairs that your coverage paid for. Your coverage is intended to help with mechanical breakdowns, which are almost always unexpected and very costly. Maintenance of a vehicle is something you can schedule and plan for financially. It is simply not covered under your mechanical breakdown coverage.
Since you have paid less than $200.00 in premiums since you purchased the coverage on this vehicle , and this one repair alone has saved you over $650.00, we feel the coverage has more than done its job. We hope that upon reflection, you will agree you made a smart decision to protect your budget with this coverage.

The only problem I had with Protect My Car was the day that my car wouldn’t start, I jumped it and they were supposed to get somebody here to check the car out, but they sent somebody here to try to jump it. And I told them I already tried to jump it. I don’t know why they sent somebody to try to jump it. But then the next day, I had somebody check it out to see what it was, the starter.
I told the rep from Protect My Car I need them to tow the car and they wouldn’t tow. They said I gotta pay for it. I asked why would I pay for it when it's in my warranty and I also told them that they sent somebody out to do a jump when I already jumped it. I said it wasn’t the battery, but they wouldn’t let me get a tow. So, I had to go through my insurance to get it towed up here. But overall Protect My Car has been good.

I knew I needed to get something done because my wife passed away and things came up. I couldn't afford any major repairs and I had to do something and I went with the first company, which was Protect My Car. I'm stuck with them until my contract runs out or I sell my truck but everything has been going great. Right after I first got my stuff, I had a lot of trouble with my car because of where I was living. The mud and the water in the road were tearing up the undercarriage of the truck but I moved and I haven’t had any trouble with it. Protect My Car took care of everything for me when it was being done and got the payments made on time, and all I had to do was come up with my deductibles, which was a lot easier than dealing with the whole process. One of these days, I'm gonna figure out how to use the $100 month bonuses I got.
In submitting claims though, there were times when even my mechanics would have to spend 45 minutes to an hour on hold because Protect My Car has enough business and not enough telephone operators. But I do that with my telephone and nobody has enough help. When you get a customer who just wants to keep asking questions and talk all day, you can't hang up on them. It’s one of the things you gotta put up with these days because everybody's gone technical instead of just having a human answer the phone, but it's understandable.

I had to take my car into the Ford dealership in August because it was doing this little jerking thing and shaking. Ford had to order some parts, which was the delay, but everything went well. The problem had something to do with the water pump, the tension belt and timing belt, and some components in the engine. I talked to Protect My Car's rep, checking on my car and making sure that everything was moving, and they did a wonderful job. They let me know what the process was. I didn’t understand why my car was in the shop for three weeks, but they only covered it for one week, and the rep broke it down to me. He was a very nice gentleman. He helped me understand that it was pretty much on Ford to take care of me from that point. And Ford took care of me and put me in a rental until I got my car back.

It was easy to submit a claim with Protect My Car. However, I had some issues with my very first interactions with them, but it was straightened out. I was at a Pep Boys which was not an original Pep Boys. So, they didn't have the mechanism in place to do the kind of service that I needed. But the agent did work. It took about an hour and they found a way to work it out. They were able to resolve the issue. Other than that, I have nothing but high thoughts. I would give Protect My Car the highest rating.

I thought Protect My Car was gonna benefit me. But the times that I've called, once, when I came to Jiffy Lube, they don't accept Protect My Car anymore 'cause they said something about not being paid timely. The other thing is when I tried to get my car repair for a starter issue, Protect My Car didn't cover that either. It seems like what they cover is very small for the premium that they charge. That's why I canceled it. Then when I did that, they were still charging me twice a month for five months. So, I filed a dispute against them. I'm just not pleased with their service. The representatives were professional but they couldn't resolve the issue. Protect My Car wasn't able to provide coverage.

To answer your question, we actually have a corporate account with Jiffy Lube. Some independent operators choose to charge their customers more than the agreed upon corporate they are supposed to charge our customers. We were happy that we could work this out with that shop and get them paid that day for the oil change. You should always call the claims administrator and let them work out the issue with the shop. There is no reason you should feel you have to do that yourself.
Yes, you were billed twice each month, one for each contract you had in force.

I got a service contract for my aging vehicle to extend the warranty on it, and I went with Protect My Car for their products and services. And the pricing seemed good. I called and talked to the agent, and the explanations were clear and easy enough to understand that it made sense to buy the service. I've had them since February and I had an oil change during that time, and they covered all of it. I'm very satisfied.

I was calling a different provider to get some information but Protect My Car had an ad for a service contract so while I was on hold, I thought I’d inquire about it and ended up getting it since it sounded like a good deal. And the reason why I decided to stay was because I was told that they cover preexisting stuff, where other companies don’t.
Their rep went over the plan information and there was a lot more than what was explained ’cause it’s quite a bit. I had to speak with several sales reps ‘cause I had an issue with the Nissan dealer for my daughter's car. I've taken it twice, ‘cause when I originally picked it up, it still wasn’t fixed. So, then when I took it back, they wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money. And after talking with them and with the manager, because everything was recorded, I was able to bring the price down because it was just their lack of communication and misdiagnosis.
Protect My Car helped me out in paying for some of it even though it wasn’t a covered part, because of how things were going. They were great because I feel like whenever I have an issue, I typically just get blown off or passed along, but Protect My Car did good about returning my call. One time, we got disconnected and they called me right back. And if they didn’t know the answer, they would check and call me back. I never felt like I was blown off or put aside. It was an ongoing issue for months and they were just very helpful. So, they definitely went above and beyond to help with that.
Now, my daughter can drive the car. The only issue that I'm having now is that the car still has a small leak, which if they put in a new transmission and engine, it shouldn’t have a leak at all. But I have to take it back to the Nissan dealer they're the ones that did the original work. This would be third time and I'm at the point where I just don’t trust them. But according to Protect My Car, that’s the only option I have or pay for it out-of-pocket and send it somewhere else which at this point, I would rather do that because as this would be the third time Nissan would have this car, I should get it back in a reasonable condition and everything should be in top shape.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. We appreciate that very much. We are very pleased to have helped you with the recent repair and glad we saved you so much money. That’s what a good policy is supposed to do. We look forward to helping you in the future when you need help. Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

I was told that Protect My Car would do anything for me if my car was to break down. I could take it to any shop and I wouldn’t have to worry about paying for anything. Those expectations weren’t met. My truck broke down and I took it to somewhere, and the only thing they were willing to pay for was half of my brake system, and I would have to pay the other half. But there were three things that were wrong with my vehicle and they said it was wear and tear.

Thank you for your comments. We do record all sales calls and maintain those records to make sure that all agents are totally honest and upfront with all customers regarding their coverage. As with all customers. our agent explained that the Elite coverage you chose allows you to chose any licensed shop to handle mechanical repairs, that the coverage reduces mechanical repairs by 50%, pays for recommended oil changes and tire rotations, provides benefits for towing, roadside assistance and rental car expenses.
Each customer is provided a coverage booklet that explains the coverage in clear, easy to understand terms. Every customer has a full thirty days to review the coverage and decide whether the coverage is right for them.
If you will review the coverage booklet you will see why the brake system you had repaired was covered, but the spark plugs and other tune up items were not covered. We are glad that the coverage saved you over $400.00 on just this one repair after only having the coverage for two months. It has already saved you more than twice what you have spent on the coverage. That is how good coverage is supposed to work.
We regret, again, that despite the agents explanation of the coverage and the written terms of coverage in the coverage booklet, you still had different expectations. Please do not hesitate to call anytime you have any questions about your coverage. We will be happy to help you.

Protect My Car was the first one I saw when I googled extended warranty, and the guy I spoke with to get enrolled was really cool. I've had coverage for about 3 months now and I already used them for oil change service. When I had that, only the oil change folks spoke with them and I didn’t speak to them. However, the way the oil change thing goes can go a little smoothly ‘cause I sat there and waited for a long time. And whatever went on in that conversation, it took a long time ‘cause they were on hold. Except for that, the coverage is cool and I like it. Everything is going smooth so far and I would recommend Protect My Car.

I got a call from Protect My Car, and it sounded like it was a good deal. However, I found out that it really wasn't. The salesman left out a lot of things. He said that I would pay the $100-a-month fee and if anything goes wrong with my vehicle, they would pay 50%. They never told me there was gonna be a $500 deductible. When people file claims to a reputable warranty company, that company would send people out to check what is going on with the vehicle. That never happened with Protect My Car.
I took my vehicle to three different people and they never told me that if the job requires so many hours of labor, Protect My Car only pays for 9 hours. That was not how it was told to me. The rep said that if they cover it, I pay half the cost and Protect My Car would pay the other half. I paid $300 just for oil change. I get oil changes for $45 on my car.

On the recent repair, you saved over $700.00. With the two oil changes the coverage paid for, you saved a total of $800.00 in just the first two months you had the coverage. Since the premiums you paid during that time were under $300.00, you saved $500.00 with this coverage in just two months.
We do not go out and inspect vehicles before issuing coverage. Insurance companies will do so to prevent fraud, but reputable service contract companies, like ours, take our customer's word for the condition of their vehicles. We pay claims upon breakdowns so that customers, like you, are saving more with the coverage than the coverage costs them.
We are very glad the coverage worked so well for you. Thanks again for your comments.

When I was trying to get a hold of the IRS, the number was similar or had changed and Protect My Car had it. So, I accidentally stumbled upon them and I discussed with them the options. The representative explained everything clearly and I was surprised with some of the perks. I drive a lot for work and I try to keep my car in good condition, so I thought that they might help me make it a little easier. The rep sold me on their warranty and he didn’t have to do much. It's a straightforward program, there's no contract, and only $60 to cancel. Those are all legitimate deals and it's a really cool program.
One great thing about Protect My Car is I don't do anything when filing claims for repairs. I provide my client number to the shop, and the shop calls Protect My Car directly. They negotiate and then I just pay my half and that all sheer up. Moreover, the automotive mechanic, who has used others in the past, told me that they have been the easiest one he has ever encountered personally.
I've gotten a few repairs taken care of and an oil change, and so far, so good. I haven’t had anybody call and say, “Oh, no, we're gonna dispute that repair” or “maybe that repair is too much.” I use an affordable mechanic and the first time I had taken my car in for repair, the Protect My Car representative looked at the invoice and said, “Wow, this is a really good price.” I don’t wanna be sticking people with million dollar bills ‘cause I still gotta pay 50% of that. All in all, I hope to see Protect My Car around for a while and I also recommend them all the time. In fact, I always tell my family and people I know who drive a lot, “Hey, check them out,” and hopefully, they do.

Though I wasn’t super excited, I wasn’t super down either.

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your being a valued customer of Protect My Car. Our coverage plans do cover mechanical breakdowns, but not regular maintenance (other than oil changes we do pay for) or wear and tear items. That helps keep the cost of the coverage affordable. The idea is simple and sound. You can plan for regular maintenance and replacement of wear and tear items (like tires, windshield wipers and similar items). It is impossible to know when your vehicle will break down and leave you stranded. That's why this coverage is so important. That is also why the coverage was able to save you $650.00 on the repair on the mechanical components, but not on the other items.

I have a Buick Rainier which I paid for $1,400 but I’ve already put about $3,000 worth of repairs into this car beforehand. It was bought by a private owner and they had put a custom alarm in it which caused more problems than anything positive about it. There was some distortion and mildew build-up in one of the plugs and it caused my vehicle to go into theft protection and it automatically shut off on me. I paid $800 for a new CPU unit because it fried the brain. This was a big issue and it was one of the things that made me want to try the Protect My Car warranty because if something like that happened again, I would have some way of covering it. Also, the repair coverage comes in handy because I’m on a really tight budget right now.
The warranty is only $90 a month which is a little bit over my budget right now. But it’s gonna cover any distance I got for any tow service I need and a large portion of any fees that I gotta pay for repairs. In the long run, it’s gonna pay for itself. But, the timeline when it comes to the payment plan is a little bit sketchy for me. I get paid every two weeks and usually, Protect My Car wants the payment by the 30th. I don’t get paid on that week so I gotta always do it the week before or a week and a half after.
I had an oil change in July. I told the guy at the oil place about Protect My Car and he said, "Well, I can't do anything 'cause I have no idea what's going on with that and I don't know if that will be covered by us". He was taking precautions by not taking any information because it could have been a fraudulent situation on his behalf. He didn’t want to take that chance and get screwed over, which I could understand. I contacted Protect My Car and let them know about it. They said that they will review my claim and find out what was going on. I gave them the phone number of the guy and the location of the place. 30 days after the review, I got my money back. I would recommend Protect My Car.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car. Glad to have you.

I've been a customer for quite some time and I'm enjoying. But I wanna better understand the contract because I need a tune-up now. I would probably bring my car to the shop soon and I wanna know if that would be covered under my warranty or not. I know the basics of my warranty. I know that the transmission, motor, and AC are covered. But I just don’t know about instances where struts and brakes are needed. I don't know if those would even be included. When I had an AC issue, I ended up paying out of pocket for that. It wasn’t the actual AC itself but a valve. Their rep was not being honest with me. He only wanted to sell me and get a buy. And of course, women don't know too much about cars. So, when I needed something fixed, I called and they told me, "Well, it doesn't cover this and that." Also, I drive a Mini Cooper and I just can't take it to any mechanic. It has to be a special one for Mini Cooper. When they told me that I could take my car to whoever I want to, I took my car to my mechanic and they didn't wanna pay him. And the work came out to so much money. They were low-balling my mechanic and that's the other thing I didn't like. I was very disappointed. So I cancelled it. It was a very, very bad experience. We regret that you had a negative experience with Protect My Car. Having reviewed the recording of the sales call, we cannot agree that the agent was not honest with you. We do understand how, over time, it may be difficult to remember the conversation accurately. That is just one reason why the coverage booklet is written in clear, unambiguous terms. It lets you know exactly what is covered and what is not covered. Our customer service team is likewise available to answer any questions you may have.
You can take your vehicle to any mechanic you choose to use, as long as the mechanic works in a licensed facility. We want to make sure that the shops that work on our customer's vehicles are licensed and have the training to do the right repair, and that they will issue and stand behind a warranty for the work they do. That is for your protection. Also, we do not low ball repair shops. Protect My Car was the first provider that called me and the first one that said they would do the job. They were really nice and they explained the benefits and the claim process very well. The claim process was good. Everything was ready. I took advantage of the oil change and I also had to call them and unlock my car. I locked myself out and my battery died. I didn't have to pay any money out of my pocket so that was good. I also like the coverage that's offered in my contract. I pay half and they pay half so that's good too.

Our goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide that.

The protection specialist and I had a quite good conversation, spending an hour and half on the phone. It was a tough negotiation, but I wanted to make sure I had any major repairs covered. There were two repairs in the old truck that had to be done. One was a power steering hose that had to be replaced and the other one was back in spring. I was surprised the power steering hose was covered. It was a $300 bill, and I paid 150 bucks. I gave the phone number to the shop, and the shop called them, and Protect My Car covered it. So, I’m quite satisfied with them. I only had to pay half of both repairs. The coverage worked exactly as they described it to me. The process was as simple as they described to me, too. I got what I felt was a very good price.
The truck has got 118,000 miles on it and I was worried if the transmission or the engine goes out because that would be a huge bill. So, if I have a major repair like that, it will pay for the coverage in one job. I paid $3,096 for three years coverage, and so far, I have used about $275. I used to be a mechanic, so I was very familiar with how car repair industry works. So, you have to know what you are talking about because they are very knowledgeable and thorough. Also, they did not try to cheat me or lie to me. It took a while, but we came to a price we could agree on. If I were talking to another mechanic, or another person in the industry, and I had time to explain the situation to them, then I would definitely recommend them. Overall, I’m happy with the experience.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you again for your very encouraging comments.

I bought a car and I wanted to get the extended warranty for it. I purchased Protect My Car but now I wanted to get out of it because they misled me when I signed in on them. They told me I would get my car fixed and that I didn’t have to pay for it. So, I took my car to the shop and I got good service there, but I had to pay half of the repair cost. I wouldn’t recommend a friend for Protect My Car anymore. With Protect My Car, I pay every month and then I still gotta pay half to get my car fixed. Which is still good but I wanna get it where I just gotta pay $100 to get it fixed. So, I’m gonna go with another company wherein I'll only have a $100 deductible, and they’ll fix everything on the car.

Thank you for your comments. We did review the recording of the sales call and we found that the agent made it very clear that the coverage reduces your repair costs for mechanical breakdowns by half. We regret that you thought otherwise. That's why the coverage booklet lets you know right up front that your deductible for repairs is a flat 50%.
One problem with those $100 deductible policies is that it is extremely hard to find on that you vehicle will qualify for since it is over 10 years old and has more than 100,000 miles on it. If you do find one, the components it will cover will likely be very limited. Still, we wish you success in your search.
One other thing to consider, with this coverage you paid in less than $400.00 over the five months you kept it, and saved over $1,600.00 in repair costs, oil changes and road side assistance. Not a bad deal by any means but we do regret that you found the coverage somehow not to your liking.

The warranty from Protect My Car looked like a good program. So I figured rather than paying all of these crazy out-of-pocket expenses, let me go get something that’s gonna help the cost. My experience signing up was okay but I thought that my out-of-pocket expense would be maybe half of what the repairs would cost. It wound up costing me more than half when I had an alternator put on. The price was $600 and something and I wound up paying $200 and something of that.
I also had to go through a series or verifications because they needed all of these information, including tax ID, of the mechanic that I used to repair my car. For some information, he had to inquire from the City of Newark and it wasn’t in a real timely fashion but they must have finally got things settled because I went back to my mechanic about three weeks ago and he didn’t make any complaints. So he must have got his money.

Thank you for your comments. On the alternator repair, the shop you chose to use quoted a total replacement price of $613.71. Had the shop agreed to use the same part we would ship to them the total cost would have only been $481.50. You, our customer and their customer, had the right to accept their price, and to simply pay the difference in the cost. You certainly have the right to pay the shop you choose to use more than you would otherwise have to. We have fund that some shops will increase their prices dramatically when they know a company like ours will be paying the bill. We work for you, not the shop and we will never let a customer be taken advantage of in this way. However, as the customer, you always have the right to make that decision.

I was trying to call my insurance company, but I hit the wrong button and I ended up talking with Protect My Car. At the time, I was kinda in the situation where it made sense to get an extended warranty for my car, so I decided to go with it. I have them for five months now and so far, I've submitted claims for a whole bunch of stuff that needed to be done.
The vehicle got messed up initially during one of the floods. We didn't get flooded out, but my wife decided to go turn the vehicle into a boat and go through this big puddle of water. The spark plug got rusted in, so they had to get it out, then they bored it out and put another one in. But it created a compression issue and the space was changed. When they hooked it up to the diagnostic, it was saying that, "You need to do this, ", and they would do that but then it wouldn't fix the problem. So, they were saying, "You have to do this," and still, that didn't fix the problem. The things that they were doing were things that were needed, but they were not gonna fix the compression issue. They were just doing everything that they could to try to make it run more smoothly, but there's nothing that you can do for a compression issue. So that's why we're at square one.
Right now, my vehicle is still not performing like it should have been and it's not in the condition that I would think I would be able to drive it every day to work. And when I spoke with the tech from Protect My Car, we both agreed that the people were kinda pulling for straws. What they were doing wasn't gonna remedy the issue and they were trying to just put band-aids on it. Other than that, the necessary claims were denied and I had to pay my portion of the expenses.
In my situation, purchasing an extended warranty was necessary. My truck was not a newer truck and I would drive it a lot. So I figured it would make sense for me to have that. However, I'm not even driving the truck now and I'm still paying for the warranty. Also, towards the end of my claim, I couldn't really get a hold of the guy that was helping me. Whenever I was able to talk to him, he was a lot of help. He was very insightful and knowledgeable. But he just disappeared.

Thank you again for those very encouraging comments.

They're closed so call back the next morning and asked for the policy to be cancelled and have so much hassle of questions of why and what are we going to do if our car breaks down. I didn't call to get questioned. I called to get my money back y'all stole. Learn how to run your business better. Your representatives are smartasses.

Thank you for your comments. We did check the recording of the telephone call to confirm, once again, that proper authority was provided by your husband to debit the account the required down payment. That down payment was refunded to you at your request and the coverage was therefore never issued.
Since your husband provided the personal information required to debit your account, including the account information and permission to complete the debit, we can hardly agree with your conclusion about the transaction. Perhaps it is best left for the two of you to handle by yourselves.

When I signed up for Protect My Car, I'm pretty sure I gave the guy permission to deduct $25 or $50 out of my account to get both of the cars started. But this month, I looked at my bill on the 1st of the month and they had already taken the payment out of my account. That threw my account in a negative. I spoke to a guy named Jay and he was telling me that I gave this guy permission to do this. I'm pretty sure I did for that first initial fee he told me that he needed to take. But as far as the rest of the month, I told him I do not want anybody taking anything out of my account. He told told me they could work that out 'cause I told him if they would have to take it out of my account, I could go with somebody else.
I asked Jay for the recording that I gave this guy permission to do that. He played me a little bit of the recording but I told him, “To me, it might be something missing, but I'm pretty sure I told this guy the same thing I'm telling you." He told me with the length of time or the memory lapse, I coulda forgotten. But I don't think I'm gonna forget telling somebody not to take something out of my account. I asked him if I can get that recording sent out and he told me that normally, they don't even go back to let the customers get that. One more thing, he said it was non-refundable and I said, "How are you guys gonna take my money out of my account then tell me it's non-refundable?"
I'm trying these guys so I'm gonna give them another shot. But they're gonna get fired for real if I will have the same problem come around the first. I'm gonna let them go then go back to where I was at first 'cause I didn't have this problem. But as far as the cost, Protect My Car was pretty reasonable though it was a little higher than what I had. As far as using it, I've only used it one time and they took care of the tire and the lube. But as far as the major parts, hopefully, I'll never have to use them as far as my car breaking down.

The existing vehicle contract I had had expired and a friend of mine recommended Protect My Car. When I talked to them, they were trying to sell me something. By the time it got finished, the car was repaired and some had not been approved.
I have a manual car and it was the clutch that went out. Protect My Car wouldn’t fix the clutch but they would fix the transmission. Because the clutch went out, I wound up getting a new transmission and a new clutch. I had the policy for maybe a month and I wanted to drop it but they sent me over to customer relations. They did some stuff for me so I wound up keeping the policy and I still have it.
Protect My Car needs to cover a clutch though. It’s a manual car. There are other things that go wrong with a manual car with a clutch. But overall, it was a good experience. I like the ease of use. The cost of the warranty is okay too, so that’s the biggest thing I’m happy with. I had a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, and I’ve heard mostly bad things about those cars. I looked at a couple of warranties, and the one that most people recommended was Protect My Car. I looked at their website and it had a beautiful design. It had a lot of numbers to call so it was hard to figure out where to call, but I got some quotes. One of the financial advisers was able to bring me a discount from 100 or so down to 80 something a month, which was great for an Ambassador Elite program. So, I found that very helpful. Purchasing was a fairly easy and streamlined process. It was just a matter of getting some information, and it didn’t take very long. The reps told me a little bit about the process, how to go through it and different links with different resources that I can use for that. They sent me emails so I was able to figure out if I need to file a claim or have any questions.
I have not needed to file a claim, as it’s only been a matter of using Protect My Car for the discount of half the cost of any repair, which is fantastic. The first oil change I had, the garage I decided to go to was offering a decent price in oil change. But I couldn’t use the warranty because Protect My Car couldn’t accept credit cards over the phone. That was a little bit of a downer, but I was amazed that they actually refunded the entire price of the oil change. Their service is definitely great quality, and they have great people to speak with. You understand them very well, and they really take the time to explain everything to you. I've asked them if I could choose to get them again for another car to get peace of mind, and they said yes. It might not be the same discount, but it’s definitely the same service.

To be safe on the financial side, I got a service contract for my vehicle and ended up with Protect My Car. I was trying to call another institution, but for whatever reason, my call ended up on Protect My Car's office. And then, their guy did a good job selling me the product. I’ve been thinking of selling the truck, so I called and told them that I wanted to the cancel the policy. I spoke with the supervisor that works on the cancellation, and she gave me a little discount on my monthly payment.
One of the reasons why I also wanted to cancel at that time was that I had an issue and the mechanic said he placed a claim but never got an answer from Protect My Car. My truck was at the shop for one week, and not having a response, I paid on my own. I was promised that if I send the paperwork Protect My Car would pay me, but the only time that I have access to the computer is at home. I spend so many days outside, and when I get home, I have a lot of stuff that I have to take care of.
Now, they cover almost everything, but what they could do is be like another type of car insurance, where you have only the basic liability, then you have a collision, and then you have a full cover. Depending on the level that you pay and that is what's gonna be covered. That would be good for the customer because somebody might say, “Okay. No, I just want lubricated part.” And so, the payment is gonna be a little less.

But there was one instance where I called them because my car didn’t wanna start and I waited for over two hours. In the end, I had to cancel the service because I was able to get someone else to jump the cable for me. Protect My car told me they were not able to find anybody available at that time.
I was not really happy about that because my husband wasn’t able to get out of work at that time. He also got there before the people I called got there. Other than that experience, the oil changes were a good bonus. But I would think about recommending Protect My Car to a friend. I was calling to check my bank account, then a Protect My Car salesman got on the line. He said, "What kind of car you got," then I told him what I had and he said, "Okay, we can do it for 70 something bucks a month." I said, "Let's do it." It went pretty flawless. I live up on the mountains about 240 miles away from Phoenix so it's a good feeling to have when I'm driving down there. It's a good service, and it's a good deal.
On one of my trips down to Phoenix, my transmission let loose on me. I called Protect My Car and they told me I can go to my own mechanic, but I had no idea who so they just recommended people that they dealt with before in the past. And I was like, "Well, that seems to be the best way to go." The rep gave me a guy in the area that could handle the job and I had him tow my car over there and had it fixed within a few days. A week later, I had my car back after I sent Protect My Car the credit card information. It was pretty simple. They told me to send them 1,600 bucks, and then I was at my way down the road with my car.
Protect My Car was straightforward. The people that I've talked to where I had to have my transmission fixed said that the other outfits' customer service takes forever. What Protect My Car is doing is instead of spending seven hours on the phone wasting the mechanic's time, they give you the estimate and have you deal with it. The customer is able to communicate with them better than the mechanics are. It's an easier transition if they let the customer do the work because some guys say that it was a big hassle for them. They are mechanics and they make pretty good money.
It's kinda stupid to drive around without Protect My Car, especially if you live in a rural area where you don't have a whole lot of Jiffy Lubes and gas stations and everything else around you when you're kind of out here. And the other thing too is they give you the 12 months, 12,000-mile warranty. It's a good feeling when you're driving an older vehicle to have that sense of security.

It was like a Wednesday of one week and they were saying that they were going to ship the part, but then they didn’t get back to me until Tuesday of the following week, saying that they were missing some information. So, that was a little bit not great, but other than that, once we straightened that out, they got the part out and the guys fixed my truck and they paid them. They said I had to do the inspections and then the company I was going with was supposed to call them. Also, I was supposed to get a discount on my maintenance but they paid for the whole maintenance plan. I wasn’t expecting that but that was pretty nice.
They have this thing online that gives a small discount on other items. I don’t really understand that. And I have such a huge banking net but it doesn't let me use all my banks in there, which I don't like. I filed a claim fifteen days after I bought it. All I did was turn over my information to my mechanic and he contacted them, and they paid their half and I paid my half. They had to replace the motor right away. I was very satisfied with the service package that I got.

I signed up for Protect My Car's services in case my car breaks. Also, some of the different auto warranty companies were too expensive. The reps at Protect My Car were nice. I got an oil change free one time and it was the mechanic that filed the claim for it. I’m paying a fair price for my warranty right now.

Thanks again for your comments.

At first, I didn’t understand everything that Protect My Car took care of. They didn’t tell me all the information on the first call. But when I called again to make sure what do they do fix, they broke down everything. And I like it. I've had the warranty for six months. So far they provided tune-ups. I file my claim through the mechanic because they could talk to them directly. But it’s not every month that I have to get this car worked on. They gave me something for the month of August, that I didn’t have to pay them. If I don’t have another going wrong with the car, they shouldn’t let me pay for the month of August.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

The people at Protect My Car were helpful. They helped me out when I needed it. I got a warranty in case something happens to my car, and I went with them because they were cheaper than other providers. I could afford what they were asking. Their reps were nice and kind to me. Then when my car battery ran down, they took the information and sent someone over there to help me. The claim process then went fine and took me at least 45 minutes.

I was googling and I saw auto warranties. I thought it would be a good idea to have. One thing went down on my car and I fixed it, and I figured there was more to come so, I signed up for it. The rep from Protect My Car did a good job. The transmission in my Dodge Charger was messed up and when I filed a claim for that, it cost a couple of thousands of dollars. Protect My Car paid half. Everything has been good so far and I recommended them to a couple of people.

Protect My Car called my phone twice in one day, seeking to telemarket a car warranty to me. They have violated both federal and state law by doing so, yet refuse to even discuss the matter with me. I wonder if they are aware that illegal telemarketing is a criminal offence in the state of Florida?

The insurance I had wasn't efficient enough, and Protect My Car covered everything else that I didn't have. When my car shut off twice on the highway, both happening within a week, they got me a tow truck and got the car fixed. However, I had to pay half price the first time. The second time, I paid the whole thing. They were dealing with Pep Boys, the people I took it to, and they didn’t tell me what was wrong with it. They just fixed it. Nonetheless, I've recommended a lot of people to them.

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your choosing Protect My Car to help you with your repairs. As we understand the estimate from your shop, your ignition module needed to be reset. We were happy to pay for the tow and help with the mechanical repairs you needed. Your coverage guarantees a savings of at least 50% on mechanical repairs and pays for recommended oil changes, tire rotations, towing and roadside assistance, as well as other benefits.

My car has over 140,000 miles and I didn’t have any warranty. I know how expensive it is if something breaks down. Protect My Car offered me three free oil changes which is a little more than other warranty providers gave. I went with them and the reps whom I worked with were specific with the things I was covered under. They did a good job explaining everything. The rep assured me that if I had any questions, Protect My Car would be there. I had a very good experience with them.

We are one of the few companies that welcomes folks who have older, higher mileage vehicles. Those are not only more prone to breakdowns (which is why most companies reject them) but can be very expensive to repair. That's why this coverage is so important.

When I signed up with Protect My Car it was still different. It's like they cover 50% of whatever mechanical issue that happens on your car. I filed a claim about three times. Some of them are successful and some are not. When I was signing up, I didn't know or I was not told that there were some certain things that Protect My Car would not cover. If I knew that, I may not have signed up because most of what the warranty that I've seen so far cover almost everything but Protect My Car does not. Basically, they cover mostly anything that has to do with the engine.
Anytime I check in my car, I give the mechanic my number and the name on the claim number and they are the ones who mostly do the claim. I filed a claim for my BMW for something that was coming from the engine. Other things will be changed -- ignition coil, the iDrive controller and some other stuff but it took me too long. It was almost about 10 days to get them to cover some certain things eventually. And then recently, when the car was having a water pump issue, they provided that also. However the car was already sold so, I'm looking to call to inform Protect My Car about that.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car and thank you again for your comments.

When I purchased my Protect My Car warranty, we had a few issues with getting me my documents. The guy sent it online but I had a problem getting it. So, he sent it in the mail like I requested. And then, they provided me with the numbers that I needed at the time. At first, I thought of cancelling, because I called them when I went to a particular place, and the guy I spoke to wasn’t very helpful. He said they gotta talk to the service people and not me. I told him I was at the place and asked if he wanted to talk to them. But then he said the service people need to call Protect My Car. He was very rude the first time. But the rest of the time, I just let the companies, wherever I went, to call them.
It's not really clear what Protect My Car covers and what they don’t. Every time I take my vehicle for service, I just let them cover it. Now, one of the providers really doesn't wanna accept it because of what they go through to get an approval. The guy didn't wanna deal with them. It took a long time for them to answer him on the phone. He had to wait. And you could imagine service personnel, they’re really trying to get them cars out of there. They don't have time to hold on to them long.
The place that I got my brakes at, they were looking to see about our axle, and in order to get the approval, they had to deal with Protect My Car more than once because it's the first time I was gonna do that for the axle. So, I needed to go back, check and see what was going on with that. And then, I went back there with another more pressing issue. They called and they spoke to two different people at the same company. Both of them did not want to deal with the warranty company. But the last place I went to, they were used to dealing with those types of companies, so it didn’t bother them as much. They just dealt with them and told me the price.

We do appreciate your choosing Protect My Car and know you will save a lot of money with this program.

When I bought a used Kia, I submitted for information and I received a solicited call from Protect My Car. After getting their call, I did my best to get my best deal and it worked, and I put them to the test. They were simple and honest. What they told me that I was getting was the service and policy that I got and I was very impressed with them. Even the service department where I took the vehicle in said that Protect My Car was so easy to work with. They were quite surprised at how simple and efficient their team was in making payments and approving. So, I’m very pleased.
I already knew I had a claim that I wanted to file. So, I asked them specifically and directly when the policy was going to take effect and how long I have to review it to make sure that they are going to provide service if I need it. They said it would be in effect within 15 days and I would have 30 days to review it. So, day 16 I was in for service and they ended up paying out over $1,500, and I had only paid in one month of premium. So, they have honored their deal. I was absolutely satisfied with my experience with Protect My Car.

My warranty on my car went out and I was looking for insurance. I was looking under my AARP and Protect My Car was offered under that. The sales representative was very nice and very knowledgeable. However, I didn’t have a very good experience with the other reps. My car quit in the middle of the highway and it started up long enough for me to make it to the Nissan dealer. I tried to get Protect My Car on the line and the Nissan person said, “Well, I can get them on your phone because I gotta wait on other customers.” It wasn’t a real good experience because she was like, “Well, you should have called us.” It was a long process I had to go through. It took I don’t know how long to get a reimbursement.
But once I got another representative on the phone, she was 100% helpful, excellent and very nice. She called back, made sure that I understood what the process was. I told her how many times I sent the email out and she told me to send her that. She walked me through everything and said, “Just expect our reimbursement.”

Before purchasing a warranty with this company ensure that you understand their exclusion policy regarding fluids. Should you need a repair that requires the replacement of any needed fluid for completion of said repair be aware that per the exclusion portion of your coverage you are responsible for the cost. Your deductible plus these additional cost, shop fees and and any applicable item in which the company does not want to cover. My radiator needed to be replaced due to a leak in the top right corner, I was responsible for the fluids that had to be put back in to complete the repair. So, just be careful and read before your placed in a situation to have to cover the addition cost of fluids.

In your specific case, the coverage was for the repair of the radiator, not for fluid replacement. While the fluid replacement did cost you a little more, the coverage did save you over $500 on just that one repair. Without the coverage you would have paid for the fluid replacement and the $500 repair cost. We are glad the coverage worked for you exactly as described in the coverage booklet and as promised by our agents.
Should you ever have any questions about your coverage, though, please call.

I needed protection on my truck and Protect My Car's price was reasonable. I used a different company before for another vehicle I had, but I got shafted so I dropped them. With Protect My Car, I'm very satisfied. During the purchase process, their reps asked me a lot of questions about my vehicle and everything worked out. They were very polite and we were able to do business. When I talked to them, it was on the money. They were great. Their customer service called me last week about my payment being late. I told them why and they were very understanding. As soon as I could find a certified dealer that will fix the part that I need, then I can go ahead and go forward with it.
I’m happy with my claim experience too. They did a great job. I did my part and Protect My Car did theirs. I was in and out. The process and fix were done on the same day. I practically got a new truck. My truck is a 2001 and after I got through, it is now a 2014. They replaced the tire rods and did the water pump. They did a lot of stuff to my truck. Was in the process of moving received a bunch of mail yesterday with 1 notice (they claim they sent 3) in regards to my account being past due. It said my account was suspended not cancelled. Called up to make a payment for the amount that was due and was told I couldn't no longer do business with them... Despite me being beyond willing to make the payment they dropped me so I took my business elsewhere for a better rate, same incentives. I got an extended auto warranty so I could have my mechanical issues fixed in case I had any. Protect My Car had pretty good ratings so I figured they'd be the best bet. The sales reps did pretty good. The only thing is there were a few issues that I wasn’t too particularly happy with. My booster pumps went out in my truck. I took it in and Protect My Car said that I was just under the mileage part to where the contract had basically kicked in, which I understood. So I went on and had to fix it myself.
The booster pumps went back out again and I took the truck back in and Protect My Car said that they would fix it, and then they turned around after the shop had taken everything apart. They said that they didn’t cover it now. They may have decided that they don’t fix not knowing the issues. They re-emailed the policy and they highlighted what was covered and what wasn’t. I told them, “Well, you should have never told me in the beginning that it was covered.” I wish that they would have told me that before I had the shop take the truck apart. If they would have told me they didn’t cover it, I would have never worried about it. And it’s $3,500 to fix it and I still haven't got it fixed. I would rather have them be more explanatory on the things that they cover and don’t cover. If they’re not gonna cover some, they don’t need to tell me that they are, and then turn around and don’t cover it. I wouldn’t recommend them to nobody.

Thank you for the comments. It is nice to be able to finish the story you started. That repair was done in March, before you completed the 30 day waiting period. That waiting period, by the way, is simply because the coverage does not cover pre-existing conditions.
In June, you had to take the vehicle back in for basically the same repair. Although the shop you chose gave you a 90 day warranty on the repair, that warranty was no longer effective. So this coverage paid all but your $100 deductible on the repair the second time around. That means that after having the coverage for seven months, you have already saved more (on just this one repair!!) than the coverage has cost you. Not bad! That's how you can tell you made the right choice to protect yourself and your budget with Protect My Car.Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

I got a service contract for my vehicle, which is an older one and has 20,000 miles on it. If anything major is to happen, I don’t have to come up out-of-pocket with a full expense. Most companies don’t wanna cover you if you go a certain number of miles, and the payment is deductible when you have a lot of miles. With Protect My Car, it's 50%. So, if you're over 100,000 miles, they base the deductible on your mileage that you have on the car. So, they're gonna protect whoever. If you have 200,000 miles, you wanna be protected, and you probably just have to pay 75% of the price to fix the car.
If a transmission would go, you're talking several thousands. So, you only have to come up with $59 or $2,000. And the beautiful part about it is that they shop for the transmission for you. You get the best price on the market for the transmission. They don’t let the dealership do that. Some dealers want to do that and wanna charge you extra fee for them to ship the transmission. I had that situation recently. The rep from Protect My Car made sure I got the best deal possible. He negotiated with me and then he advised me to take the vehicle from that dealership even though it ended up costing me $130 something to take it to somewhere else because once they serviced it, I had to absorb the evaluation cost. They wouldn’t cover for that. But they're good at recommending you to other people that’s gonna really work with you.
They referred me to Meineke in Kingston. They were very good and they told me I didn’t need a transmission. One of the gears was bad, but it sounded like it was coming from the transmission because it was revving really high. The transmission slips and kicks a little bit, but it's not major. I probably need an overhaul or one of those devices inside the transmission needs to be repaired. But last time, the other dealer wanna go full speed saying I need a brand-new transmission. Of course, that’s more money in the pocket for the mechanic and for the company.
With Protect My Car, I feel better having the extra coverage in case anything happens again. They also worked with me after I spoke with them regarding putting off a payment to another date. At this point, I am considering putting the coverage as well on my other car. It also has a lot of miles but it's a really good car. Once you put a car with them, you have to wait 30 days before you could file something because they don’t want people having a problem pre-hand, some fraudulent stuff. Another beautiful part about Protect My Car is that you could take the car to any mechanic, but you wanna make sure before you do that that you let your mechanic know who you're dealing with and you let Protect My Car know who you're dealing with, so this way, they could be onboard with documentations and so forth.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car. We appreciate your business.

I have a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and I purchased the warranty due to high mileage. I purchased it to cover all the electronics in my car. At the time of purchase, my interaction with the rep was nice, smooth and clear. But when I filed a claim, it was difficult and frustrating. I found out parts were not covered and I felt ripped off. They call something a navigation unit and when you use the word navigation, I think GPS. So I thought I didn't need it. It doesn't really matter if the GPS isn't covered. I have GPS. But the navigation unit is actually the center console which handles your air conditioning, your radio and the most important parts of your car. It's your car's computer and that's the part that broke.
They told me that they understand I have an electric vehicle at the time of sale and that the warranty covers all my electrical parts that I need. And it was disappointing to find out that my claim wasn't covered. The only good thing was that they did cover the other part. The value of the repair of the other part was basically the cost that I had incurred up to that point. So it was not as if I had lost money at Protect My Car so I was happy with that. I had also been able to reach the person at Protect My Car very quickly. The people called back and were very responsive.
Everything is working correctly now. Also, they were very concerned about the navigation unit. I spoke to several representatives and explained my frustrations. They said they were going to take off $1,500 off the policy so instead of paying $150 a month, it would come out to around $58 a month. So they tried to make good. For the loss of funds that I had to shell out of pocket, they were going to compensate that way until it came out to the amount that I had spent.

We are glad that in order to help you out, we discounted your coverage by $2,000 and deferred you monthly payment to help you with the non-covered component repair. I needed some type of coverage and when I got a call from Protect My Car, it came through as spam and I just answered the phone. I was still at work and I didn't have time to really talk about it when I decided to take the warranty. I came to find out there are better warranties than the one they offered, but I just left it alone. When I had a rack and pinion issue, Protect My Car replaced it. I had to pay my half before they paid their half. It was straightforward and I heard that it’s better coverage. Some companies pay 60, 70, but then, Protect My Car pays 30%. I’m paying $90 a month for something I won't use much and I’ve been doing this for a while now. I don't see my car breaking down, but I don't know when it will and for whatever the case may be, there is a benefit to it.

One great way to know you have the right coverage is to compare what you pay for the coverage versus what you save with the coverage. On this one repair, you will save almost twice what you have paid in premiums. Most customers find they are saving far, far more in repair amd maintenance costs that the coverage is costing them. That's how you know you have good coverage.
Thank you for choosing Protect My Car and thank you again for your comments.

Protect My Car made it seem like their warranty was really nice and that it was a good deal. Their rep made it sound good saying that I wouldn’t be out of any money from my pocket. They also told me how to do stuff and they were cordial. They were cool for a minute, but then I had several problems with them. I paid around $640 to get a service man to work on my car, and I thought Protect My Car would cover it. I had to pay half of the bill, but then Protect My Car came back telling me that I had to pay more money for something else. I was out about $900.
Plus the folks that fixed the car didn’t fix it right. It ended up blowing a head gasket or whatever they paid the man for. He just kept my car for three months, and they were having a problem getting a part on there. I went ahead and ordered the part, but they didn’t wanna use that part. They wanted to use Protect My Car. So, the man had done the work on the car and then they sat the car, put a hood on it and didn't put the part on there.

Your coverage reduces the cost of mechanical repairs by 50%. Your shop did find additional problems with your vehicle and you did have to pay abut $900, but that was after the coverage reduced those costs by half.
Your coverage also pays for recommended oil changes and tire rotations and these services do not require any out of pocket cost to you. We also pay for towing and road side assistance.
You should know that this coverage has already saved you over $1,100 in repair costs, towing costs and oil change expenses. That's the amount you would have had to pay the shop if you did not have this coverage. You have already saved almost three times what you have paid for the coverage over just the first six months. Not a bad deal by any means.

I always had a service contract for my car but I found something that I could afford with Protect My Car. I couldn't afford the payment with my previous company. I made claims for two oil changes with Protect My Car. I’ve been doing my claims online. But I think I got the wrong email address and I had to call several times. On the last one, I had to call to get another email address and I called them to find out if they received what I sent. They told me it was there.
When I have a claim, I just go to the service place. For the first claim I did, I didn't know that I had to go to a special service place that was in their network. I went to one that wasn’t. I had to pay for the services at first. I then had to submit a receipt to the office to get a reimbursement. I got reimbursed but it took too long. For my second claim, I had an oil change at Jiffy Lube but I didn't know that protect My Car's office was closed on a Sunday. I had to send in another invoice.

I made the mistake of emailing these folks from a Facebook ad, hoping to get a simple email reply. They are harassing me and now and call me from numbers all over the country 3 times a day so I can't block them. Doesn't seem like the practices of a legitimate company, either way I am purely disgusted.

All anyone has to do is ask not to be called again to be removed from a calling list. Of course, better practice, if you do not want any calls, is not to enter your information on line and then click the button requesting a phone call.
We do apologize if you considered the two calls our company made to you at your request were in any way "harassing".

The warranty that I had on my vehicle expired, so just to be on a safe side, I got an extended warranty. However, I was not satisfied with Protect My Car. I had taken my car to Acura, but the next time I went there to do my oil change and a few other things, I was told they were not gonna take Protect My Car. They said the last time was a headache. Protect My Car didn’t want to pay for their work and questioned everything. But because I have to leave there with my car, I went ahead and paid for whatever it was and got it over with. It’s supposed to be 50-50, as I was told from the beginning, but it wasn’t that. So I feel like it doesn’t make any difference. If anything happens and my car breaks down, I’m gonna end up paying for everything.

Also, the company I was working for kept my retirement so if anything major showed up, we were just shafted. I’ve got Omega and they say they cover all the stuff but they don’t cover anything. Protect My Car was more reliable than others so I took it out. It’s like buying insurance for the car. I hadn’t filed any claims against anything because I could cover everything up ‘til when I did. The gal from the garage that made the phone call was really impressed with Protect My Car ‘cause she said that they were the nicest ones she'd ever talked to. I thought Protect My Car is pretty good, so I got covered through them. So far, dealing with them has been good. However, they could have explained their claims process a little better. I used the warranty once and the claim took a while to get approved. I had the service done first, then I gave the guy the information I have. After everything was done, he called the company to get the claim approved, and then he had to re-call again to have it paid. Protect My Car kinda messed me up, though. The service people had to explain everything they had to use, and when they said windshield wipers, Protect My Car made me pay for those. I had a coupon that included windshield wipers as a free gift to having an oil change but they still wouldn’t approve it because they don’t do windshield wipers.

Getting a policy is a good thing to do when your car doesn’t have a warranty and on top of that, when knowing that anything can take place at any given moment. You might be limited with funds. It’s always good to know that there’s a company that can actually help you out whether it’s 100% of the bill or even half. It still plays a factor. When I started, I got a phone call out of the blue and the young man was telling me about somehow, somewhere, my name came up in car protection. He was explaining everything and since I thought I needed it right then, I ended up going with Protect My Car.
That interaction with the young man struck a positive cord too. He came from a long line of military and he was thanking me for my service. Then on the other end, he made the whole experience a real great one. I’m also deeply satisfied with the package that I signed up for. I’m even looking at hopefully getting another car so I can get the 100% kit they have. Right now, Protect My Car is covering 50% of my bill and I’m really glad with it. I actually have to get service done that’s gonna run me $2,800 and Protect My Car is covering half the bill. So that works out really great.
I also needed a new alternator and a new battery so I called Protect My Car. It was my first time so I didn’t really know exactly what to do. They told me to just go into the shop, let the car shop call them and give the car shop my number. It went from there and throughout the whole process, the car shop was calling me to verify if everything was okay, in terms of what was going on with the vehicle. I really had nothing to do. Protect My Car took care of everything. I like their services. Everything flows smoothly. They also have two free oil changes a year. I got an oil change now and they took care of that so that was great. The experience was fantastic and I already told folks about Protect My Car, especially with the fact that every month, they put points into my account so I get to travel, sign up for hotels and get discounts.

They picked up half of the bill and that made it great on my out-of-pocket expense. And after that, I continued service with them, and I’ve gotten two free oil changes. I’m very happy with the service they provided.

I bought a used car, one that's over 10 years old, and I thought it might be a good idea to have a warranty for mechanical failure. Protect My Car looked like they had a good record, so I decided to work with them. They were helpful and cordial as they discussed things with me, and it was straightforward. The coverage was well-explained and they told me the different variables. I understood the policy well after they explained it. They cover half of the repair cost for anything that is not wear and tear or due to it, like mechanical failure, but not tires or brake pads because those are gonna wear down all the time.
I used the warranty for an oil change, and when I was at the shop, the person there got on the phone with Protect My Car and they worked through how to bill it. The only issue was they cover basic oil change, but I like to use the silicone blend oil because it lasts longer and it increases the performance of my engine. I just didn't think to ask then if I could get the silicone blend and pay the difference.
The gentleman from Protect My Car who I was speaking with started going into detail about what the shop could and couldn't do. I tried to explain to him that I didn't have an accident, and it wasn't a major repair. I told him I was doing an oil change, which is repeating, and I’ve done a whole bunch of them. But I got what he was trying to do. He wanted to make sure I knew everything, and that the garage isn’t gonna charge me for something that wasn’t broken. He was being excessively helpful, trying to make sure. Maybe they’ve dealt with garages in the past that once they know that you have coverage, they're gonna try to charge you different things. He was only cautious and trying to protect the business. He didn't want the business to get taken for a ride.
Nevertheless, I’ve been with those guys for years and they are reputable. I was on a military base, and they were contracted to do mechanical work on a military installation. So, they don't wanna mess that up by doing fraudulent work or charging for stuff that they're not doing. I told the guy from Protect My Car that we were not having any issues like that, and he didn't need to go over his long spiel with me. I just need him to get the shop the information they need so they could bill the company. Other than that, the service is great. My experience, overall, was very good.

Getting a warranty makes sense. I was thinking either that or just save $50 every paycheck and if I have mechanical problems, I’ll go into an automobile savings. But with Protect My Car, there is the difference in half and it just about covers everything. I look at it as being a service for me and sure enough, it worked out when my starter went out. It took a little while but the mechanic was kinda panicky and he tried to price gouge. He said Protect My Car denied the claim but when I asked him how much it was and he said the price, it was no wonder. I told him I would have denied that too. The company is even a mechanic for our vehicles through our job.
He thought Protect My Car would pay for all of it and I was pretty upset about that because he gave me a high price and it was only a starter and something else. It seemed like this guy was trying to get one over me. I was even gonna call Protect My Car back to tell them to cancel the whole thing because the starter went out a day afterwards and the mechanic was gonna try to tell me the issue was something else. But I knew the starter was the problem. I took it back to him and he made it right.
With all that said and done, it worked out well. The experience was good and I’m satisfied. In fact, I’ve been referring people to Protect My Car. If any other things arise, I’m gonna have to make sure I pick the right mechanic because Firestone and Pep Boys overcharge. A lot of their stuff is overrated and they will try to find every other thing that get their upsales up. Some of those companies price gouge but I let them know upfront that I'm paying half and the warranty company is paying half.

I wanted to try out Protect My Car and the very sweet sales rep I talked to on the phone did a good job. However, I'm very dissatisfied. I thought they covered everything, but when I tried to file a claim for the catalytic converter, they don't cover that. I'm thinking about going to a different company because right now, it’s just too expensive than all they're paying in the past. There are companies out there that would pay more than half.

Our coverage covers almost all mechanical breakdowns (except wear and tear items). Some companies pay a higher percentage, but significantly reduce the number of components they are willing to cover at that higher percentage. So your choice is a 50% reduction on a wider range of repairs, or a higher rate of repair savings on only a limited number of repairs. Get all the facts and we think you will find that Protect My Car's level of coverage, low cost premiums, 50% reduction in mechanical repairs, free oil changes, road side assistance and towing and a host of other benefits, can't be beat.

I didn’t have an extended warranty and I thought it was something that I could possibly need, and it turned out I definitely needed it. The rep walked me through what Protect My Car would cover and he helped me out a lot. So, I got the Ambassador protection plan and it covered pretty much everything mechanical-wise. However, the wear items like brake rotors, brake pads, clutch, oil and tires were not covered. The rep walked me through what I would have to do to file the claim if I ended up getting the policy and then a week later or a month later, something happens with my car. I would have to find a shop to do it and then put the shop in touch with Protect My Car and that way they could take care of it, talk to the shop and see that going from there.
I spun a rod bearing and it made a really loud cracking sound. Filing the claim went very smoothly and I got calls either every day or every other day for an update from the shop. Protect My Car called me a few times too about updates and where it was at. Everything was good with the repair. I had a little bit of an issue with the AC. It was leaking refrigerant and Freon, and the shop was very good to me about that. The rep got that taken care of and I’m not having any issues with anything right now. Everything was very smooth with my experience with Protect My Car and not only was I informed on everything, but there was also very good communication between everybody.

I figured I was gonna need an extended warranty sooner or later, then the rep told me that the warranty would protect my car throughout the period that I signed up for. He showed me a plan that was a little out of my price range, another one that was within and I went with the one that was in my price range. In terms of quality and cost, we all know that every car will eventually break down, so it requires repairs and getting the car back out as quick as possible is bar none the best thing that could happen.
When I filed a claim with my wife for her transmission, I called up Protect My Car over the phone and I was told everything I needed to do then I got in contact with the person I chose to do the transmission and it was done just like that. Protect My Car gave Pep Boys all the stuff and they have to run diagnostics prior to filing a claim to find out what's wrong with my car.
However, I feel like Pep Boys doesn't know what they are doing and I don't know if they really did what they said what they were supposed to do. After doing that a couple of times or so, I took my car to the Chevrolet Dealership. Now my car is in the shop again for the same situation I had before. When I was getting the warranty set up, I wasn’t aware that I needed a whole lot of money in front to get it started, but they worked with me on that until I had the money. Still, the first part of getting my car fixed was a living hell because they didn’t provide me with the services I needed on time. Finally, they got the part to the shop where my car was staying forever. Protect My Car was just beating around the bush all the time and I was sick of it. It was too long for me to be arguing. I've already paid them $1,700 and I have no car. I took the car to the shop and they were familiar with Protect My Car, which was really good. They were very friendly and broke down to me how much I was gonna pay from the minute I got there. I was very happy with the results so, the process was very good. There were some issues as far as getting the parts, so that was what I was waiting for but everything was cleared that day.

Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is anything we can do for you.

Everything is going great with Protect My Car and I’ve already recommended them to several different people I know. With me being on limited income ‘cause I’m on SSI, a warranty would help me pay for major mechanical issues and everything else. I figured it was also a backup safety feature in case my insurance didn't cover anything. Protect My Car guaranteed that they covered half of all major mechanical issues such as motors, ball bearing issues, etc. It also included alignment. The main reason I chose them was I knew that they would cover their part as long as I covered my part. And it seemed reasonable.
I filed a claim for the ball bearing on my Chevy Venture. I did what I call window shopping for different prices to see who was the lowest at the first quote. I went to Express Oil Lube and Change here in Athens, Georgia off Broad Street and got a quote from them for $360. I then took that quote over to Pep Boys because they have this thing where they’ll match price plus take an additional 5% as a discount and wrote that through to Protect My Car after getting the quotes. Protect My Car cut it in half and I paid the other half that day to get my vehicle fixed so I wouldn’t have any issues with work or the doctor’s appointment.
When I went in to make the payment, I asked, “Have they covered their half yet?” They said, “We’ve worked with them before. It’ll take about a week for us to get our payment from them.” I said, “Okay, so, there are no issues. I can go ahead and pay the 118 and some change, and I can drive off my vehicle?” The manager of the store said yes. So, I did all of that and I haven’t heard anything back since then, other than I need to make my payments. My van broke down and I wasn’t able to work at all this past month so I wasn’t able to make the payment I needed to. I also just got into pain management to control the pain levels that I have and I’ve been sick off and on this past month. Now, I have two vans that I need to put on a multi-car policy and I gotta work in order to get enough money first in order to do that. I’m planning on making payments, but I’ve gotta contact Protect My Car about a multi-car policy because I do Uber Eats.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. That's why we created coverage specifically for those folks. Having low cost coverage that saves half on repair costs, pays for oil changes, includes rental car reimbursement, towing and road side assistance and other added benefits really is so helpful to everyone, but especially to folks who need that help the most.
Thank you for choosing Protect My Car to help you protect not just your vehicle but your budget as well. We are very glad to have you as part of our Protect My Car family.

My truck had so many miles on it and nothing was ever broken on it, so I figured it was gonna start breaking soon. I decided to work with Protect My Car. They just happened to catch me at a weak moment. Buying a warranty for my vehicle seemed like a waste of money and I’m regretting that I bought it. Nothing is still going wrong with my truck and nothing is probably gonna go wrong with it, and I’m still paying $100 a month. I could put that in a savings account so when something goes wrong with it, I could afford to fix it. I’ve been with them for seven months so that’s $700. I have gotten two oil changes, which were 70 bucks each, so I got some of that back.
The first oil change was pain in the butt because I called and they said it wasn’t open. And then, it was open. I called back and I had to hand my phone to the guy. So, there was some confusion. It shouldn’t have been that hard. The second time, the guy made me wait for 30 minutes because he didn’t add the tax in, so the work order was messed up. So, I got stuck there for about a half an hour while Protect My Car worked out the details. I’m gonna take the truck to my mechanic because my light just came on, and I gotta get it inspected. So, there might be something small wrong with it. My mechanic is a local guy, so we’re gonna see how that works out.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

The Protect My Car reps told me that if I can't do a claim, I can just take my car to the mechanics that are ASE certified, and have them call back to get my car. I went through the whole book and everything was good. Even before I got the book, it never took more than a day once I got the book to understand it even more. The process of filing a claim only took about 10 minutes, and then, the whole completion took about two days to get my truck back. They had to do a transmission rebuild, and then, Protect My Car gave me the option to get a new transmission. But I didn't want a new transmission because I want my original transmission to match my motor. So they had rebuilt it, and everything is still good ‘till today.
Everything was good overall. I went to a Dodge dealership for the oil change, and it took 20 minutes, and I was in and out. The only bad thing I had was when my truck started messing up out on the side of the road, and Protect My Car kept saying that somebody would be on the way within 30 minutes. And 30 minutes turned to never, so I just kept waiting. They never showed up, so I ended up getting AAA.

I have seen other companies that if anything goes wrong with your car, it will be fully covered. Hopefully, Protect My Car will get to the 100% stage instead of the 50% stage. But I’m a loyal customer, and I’m sticking with them. Signing up with them was a great idea, and it will help me in the long run, so I jumped on it. I signed up with Protect Your Car because they could save me money. Once the truck hits 100,000, then I’m on my own. But if anything goes wrong, Protect My Car will cover half.
Protect My car was on point when I was purchasing the warranty. But I wished they have more services. I will pay a little bit more if I could get 100% coverage. The rep did a very good job explaining my options, but I was still confused how many is provided for the towing service and the oil service per year. But it was not her problem because it was right there in the manual. So I should’ve fully read the manual.
The people at Protect My Care are really professionals. But I had one bad comment with the tow service. The personal issues or not liking the job of some of their roadside assistance or affiliates will cause them to act a little different. Protect My Car's service quality is good. But there shouldn’t be a limit on what I should get, like oil service. All my cars still take full silicone, so I gotta pay a deductible if I want full silicone. That oil is $57, but the half silicone is $50 exactly on their mark. So, I gotta pay a $7 deductible. But other than that, my experience has been pretty good.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments.

I did some research on the internet and Protect My car had the best extended warranty. I had a really good interaction with the rep when I was purchasing the warranty. I didn't have any questions at the end of it. But it was not pleasant when I had to talk to the claims people. It was pretty rough and dry, and to the point. But it's how the business goes.
The first time I used the claim, I was asked to send Protect My Car the money, so then they would pay the mechanic. I was never heard of that before, but it was okay. On the second time I'm at the mechanic, I was told that Protect My Car paid the mechanic, and it was okay. During the third time, my mechanic had to send them the receipt of my part, which I paid. He had to fax it to them before he got paid. So, I don't understand what's the procedure here because it was completely different in the three times I've used Protect My Car.
The only time I talked to the customer service on the claim was during the first time. After that, I didn't even need to talk to anyone. My mechanic told me what I needed to do. No one consulted me or asked me if this task was done or was it performed or was it someone just using my account. No one cared about to confirm it with me. But in those three times, I had the option to get a tow truck to come pick my car wherever it was. And even though the process for the payment is a little new for me, it got the job done.

I wanted extra coverage for the vehicle that we have and the rep from Protect My Car was amazing. She was very bright, happy, very talkative, and explained everything clearly. My questions and concerns were addressed pretty well up until there was a mix up with our VIN when we tried using the oil change. We went into the dealership and we were stuck there for a while because they were trying to figure out what was going on with the VIN and that was like a whole headache in itself. But our vehicle needed the oil change, so we were just gonna pay out-of-pocket until at the very last minute. That was when everything got resolved.

I've only used the actual warranty once and it was horrible. It took the people forever to call somebody back or answer the phone. And then the girl sat on the phone for like five hours. It took four days for a job that could have been done in two days, but they were waiting on Protect My Car. When I get my oil changed, I don't go to Protect My Car because they take forever to get stuff done. So I'd rather just pay the oil change and have my car right then and there. Overall, Protect My Car saves me money for any repair. If I have to, I'd try my best not to use them. I have a old car with a old transmission. I bought a new Nissan Kicks, and it started out with my Avenger as part of the deal, and now, I don’t want the Avenger to be part of the deal because I may start using it to drive for Uber. So, I don’t wanna use my new car for that, which I don’t wanna put miles on it and it just make sense to get the Avenger back and use it. And right when I was about to back out at one time, they lowered my payments. They went through on everything they said they were supposed to do. They explained the warranty well and there were just a few things left out, but we straightened that out by producing documents and updating the system. But other than that, it was fine.
The claims process was cool. Everything took effect when it was supposed to. I had to wait a while for authorizations and that was what took long. Both parties weren’t moving as fast as I thought they would, but they got it done. Protect My Car took care of what they had to take care of with my car warranty-wise. The only claim I submitted is the oil change. The other thing that I wanted to submit which was for the brakes and they said that they didn't cover it. I also had a bad experience with their customer service. They told me that between the time that I purchased the warranty, and then, they were getting a new company they forgot to take out the payment.
It took a minute to straighten that out and they were very rude. And they took $5 extra out of my account saying it was a late payment. I said no because that wasn't my fault and it was their fault. I asked the guy, "You all weren't authorized to take that late payment fee. Y'all was only authorized to take a certain amount. So, how is it that you all was able to do that anyway?" And he said that he apologized. He's just gonna make sure that I got it back, but of course, that never happened. They never reimbursed it. But I would recommend the warranty especially if you have a later model and less miles. My car when I got it first was old, and it had a lot of miles. I feel like I got a good deal based on the age and the mileage of my car.

They come in and they get your information and you tell them that you got ProtectMyCar and it’s a little bit time-consuming. But at the end of the day, everything goes through. I think instead of calling every time they should have something saved the first time. I would go to the same place. So once I go there they should already have the information. As long as I’m still paying for the coverage, I should be able to just get some kind of password and everything is filled up, so when I go there they could see that I’ve been there and did it, but then all the information, he’s gotta retype it in. I needed the services because my car is over 10 years old. If something happens, at least, I don’t have to pay the whole thing. I like that Protect My Car pays for 50% of the bill regardless of what it is. They also secure their part when they send the payment to the mechanic’s office so I’m diggin’ that. Then I’m on a fixed income and I’m only paying $50-something a month so it’s affordable for me. Plus, it’s just basic. Other warranty companies will pay for something, but not pay for the parts that need to connect with it. It gets so complicated. And I hate that they do that. If in case you need a part just to connect with it, some of them are not covered. You have to come out-of-pocket. Then what I was told is that others pay the mechanic for the amount for the cheapest part, and then the mechanics get frustrated with that. So they still make you pay out-of-pocket. It’s not that way with Protect My Car.
I submitted a claim one time and the process went okay. Everything was like they said. But the mechanic cheated me really bad. He basically lied and sent Protect My Car a false estimate bill of what he did. He gave Protect My Car the one that was written out and he gave me the one he really did. Once I called the car place, the guy was gonna help me follow-up with that to see actually what he did and what he didn’t do. But by the time I called back with the information, he’s no longer there. I asked why they got rid of him and they said that he resigned. He knew I was calling him back. He knew he was gonna help me with this.
I asked why they didn't pay for the big hose that connects from the engine as I was thinking that they will cover that. I had to buy that and replace that on my own. They said they covered that. The person I talked to knew exactly what hose I was talking about as he described it so why wouldn’t a mechanic put that on a bill? He ripped me off with about $800 and there’s nothing I can do about it but take him to court on my own. I don’t have the money so I’m just stuck.
Protect My Car left me behind. They didn’t help me get my money back. They were the payer, they should take the mechanic to court, and I should come. They should represent me because he stole from them even though he didn’t steal any money from them. But he actually stole in honor. He forged my signature and admitted it to me and told me to take him to court. I told Protect My Car that’s not my signature. That should be enough for Protect My Car to take him to court. He dishonored the agreement to forge my name. The mechanic did a lot of illegal stuff to me and Protect My Car wouldn’t do anything. They just note the system that I need to take the mechanic to court and that’s it. I have to be on my own with it. I’m just a client. I don’t even have a lawyer. But they’re involved and they won’t even investigate it! What the hell!
Even now, my engine light is still on. The car place said something about a catalytic converter thing that’s gonna cost $1,700. I really think they did this. They took so much money from me and they rigged my car up. But I would stay with Protect My Car until I find something that gives me a lower rate or something that offers the same thing.

I had too many different people and channels at Protect My Car to go through in order to get a claim. When I went to get a free oil change, I was at the Avalanche place for over two hours, waiting on whatever they do in order to do the free oil change. It was tedious, not only to me but the shop. They were there on the phone and on hold for God knows how long. As a matter of fact, we had to do two phones. I was holding on in one line, and their shop manager was holding on in the other. He was in one department and I was in another. I just went ahead and paid for my oil change 'cause it took so long to get the process done.
But the guy that did the claim last time gave me so much more information than I had before. After that, I better understood how to go about doing a claim and making the process worth it. When I first got it, no one at Protect My Car ever explained to me. I didn't even know about the free oil change. When he explained all of that to me and told me how I could get reimbursed for the ones I had already gotten, I was like, "Wow. You're telling me things I've never heard."

Thank you for your comments. We do regret you had a difficult time getting through on that occasion and we apologize for the delay. We do appreciate your choosing Protect My Car.

I work in the car business, so I am familiar with warranties. The reps at Protect My Car were wonderful and they were very informative. I made a claim but then I had to withdraw it and get the money back. I wasn't very satisfied with that 'cause I had paid $400-something for the repair, and I paid with my card. But when they refunded me the money, they sent it to me in check form. I thought they had put it back on my card and I kept checking my account, then I received a check in the mail which I didn't like too much. Still, the overall process was easy.

Thanks again for your comments.

When I was purchasing the Protect My Car auto warranty, the rep was able to tell me what was covered. But when I had my car serviced, it was slow when it came to paying for it. The first time, it took them some time. But on the third time, it was a little easy 'cause I knew what to do. Overall, I really enjoy the service I have.

Thank you for your comments. We are glad to have helped you with the services you had done on your vehicle and apologize for any delay you experienced. You should not experience that delay again. Thank you for being a valued customer.

I have a few cars and it’s expensive fixing stuff. Protect My Car offers a good deal including a rental car service, while most companies don’t. I’ve only used the service to change my oil so far and it went pretty good. The reps were very helpful.

We very much appreciate your choosing Protect My Car and for sharing your thoughts.

Protect My Car is terrible, and I’m gonna cancel them. They don’t cover half the stuff that they say they cover. I went through the whole application process and wasted too much of the time getting enrolled. But when I was waiting at the mechanic shop, the shop said, “Well, they’re not covering that. They’re not covering this.” “Well then, let me just pay out-of-pocket.” So Protect My Car doesn’t do me any good.
My vehicle has more than 100,000 miles on it. I don’t expect to trade it any time soon, so I figured getting a warranty is like life insurance. If you’re still living, you might as well put insurance on yourself. I was on the phone with AT&T. And if you have AT&T, you dial 611 out of your phone. For some odd reason, it didn’t connect me to my AT&T but it connected me to Protect My Car. And I was like, “Oh, well. I might as well get it. It’s a weird coincidence, but I might as well buy it.” That was a mistake.
Their rep's explanation was awesome. They had me sold from the very beginning. So I had no issues, and there was no question on my mind that I needed it. When you have an older vehicle, the transmission does cost $3,000 or $4,000, and the rep said they will replace that. And there will be no question asked as long as I take my vehicle to a mechanic that is recognized or corporations that are recognized. And the rep said, "To give you an example, 4 Wheel Parts is one of them. And all you do is when you get there at them, just have them call this number and we will use the credit card to pay half of that amount while you’re standing there.”
That was lie. It took about three hours before they could get anybody to even get on the phone. And I was standing there with the rep. He says, “I apologize. I hate this company. I hate it when a customer comes in and brings this to us. They are a terrible company, and they’re not gonna cover you for nothing. But we’ll do it, just because you’re here.” Protect My Car is not a good company to do business with when they’re not gonna stand behind what they say they would do.

Thanks again for choosing Protect My Car.

Protect My Car was the only warranty provider that would do a car over 200,000 miles. I was having an issue with my vehicle and I took it in for service. There’s a couple of things I didn’t agree with the warranty itself. The service provider said it would be a 10-hour job. But Protect My Car goes strictly by the full 10 hours and it took the service provider 12 ‘cause they came into some problems. Protect My Car wouldn’t do the extra two hours. It was explained in the policy that they'd pay 50% of all repairs but they wouldn’t do the half price for the extra two hours so I had to pay two extra $100 in labor. However, they handled the situation pretty well.

The reason we were not able to help you with the additional two hours of labor was that the shop wanted to do rust removal and charged those additional hours to do that work. Since rust removal and body work is not a mechanical repair, it is not covered under your plan.
Thanks again for choosing Protect My Car and for your comments.

Previously, I had an extended warranty with another company and they weren't effective enough. I wanted to give Protect My Car the benefit of the doubt and I tried them out. The rep whom I worked with was a good person and they helped me work it out. They were helpful and they explained everything to me. Though I'm comfortable with the package I got, I'm thinking of getting a better one later as I'm having electrical issues now and I haven't turned it a claim on it because I didn't want them to think that I was misrepresenting them. Still, I'd give this company a referral. I feel a lot safer knowing that if I have any problems, it's covered.

Thank you for being a very valued customer and for providing your review on Protect My Car.

I heard an ad on the radio a few months ago about Protect My Car. They were talking about getting your car covered, and the policies. I thought it was a good idea, so I gave them a call. The rep was very informative. I got a policy right there and then. I didn't have a detailed conversation when I got the package, but I got the gist of it and I knew the major points of it. It's a good package. I have to pay the 50% for my side but it is better than paying 100%. I have peace of mind that the car is under some kind of a policy that can help me in bad times. It’s a good thing to have for a person who is using their car for doing Uber as well.
Submitting a claim was nice and quick. The mechanic or the shop takes care of all the correspondence with Protect My Car. Sometimes it can take a few extra days, which is kind of a drag because your car is just sitting there at the mechanic shop. But you can get the approval within the day if you start the process before the afternoon. There has been a lot of maintenance on my car and Protect My Car has been really good for me. I'm happy with it and I have referred a lot of people to them.

Thanks again for your very encouraging comments.

I've been with Protect My Car for over nine years and I have two warranties with them. The rep who assisted me was great and provided excellent service. When I take my car in to the shop, I give Protect My Car a Call. Then, I give the oil change persons the contract number after they put oil in the car. The process doesn't take long and it's easy.

Thank you, again.

The rep that I talked to was outgoing and he made me feel that the coverage from Protect My Car was a great deal. It sounded real good after hearing what he was talking about. When I submitted a claim, the person who helped me knew what he was talking about. He told me to go ahead and gave me the number for me to call. It was taken care of right away. A rental was provided because they needed the vehicle to be there longer. I only submitted a claim one time, and the rest of the other times, Baxter did it for me. I'm very satisfied with Protect My Car. I like everything about it. There's so many different companies out there that was brought up to my attention. But Protect My Car got my attention more than the rest. It's the way they make you feel and the way they talk to you, and they're very knowledgeable.

Thank you again for your comments and thank you for choosing Protect My Car.
