Everything came out positive from day one with Protect My Car. When I was looking for a warranty, I was looking at two companies and price-wise, Protect My Car was better. Having this warranty has worked out great so far. When I had a claim, we just dropped my car off and the dealership just called and verified. We picked it up after it was fixed with no problem at all.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you again for your very encouraging comments.

Protect My Car is a good place. I love the experience. I still have another vehicle with them. I had three vehicles with them. One vehicle was like a little over two years. So, I sold that one. Then I transferred my new car over to them, and then I ended up signing in my fiancee’s car over with them. I had been with them for a little over a year, and they told me that my policy was discontinued because of non-payment. But I never received any bills or any phone calls. It’s just on one car, and I have to just redo it again. But other than that, I don’t have any complaints with them.
I'd call Protect My Car right back to sign back up with them with my Hyundai Elantra. I was told by the Hyundai dealer that I had a full warranty on the vehicle already and it wasn’t. He said that he was gonna charge me $25 to set up the program but he ended up taking $115 out of my account, and there was no return phone number. But it was cheaper and they gave me more miles. They’re supposed to call me back, and they never called me back though. Protect My Car is really good. I’m glad. If something goes wrong, I can call them. If I need to have my car towed, I can call them.

Thank you for your comments and providing your experience with Protect My Car. We do understand that folks will no longer continue payments for coverage if they no longer need the coverage. One way we help customers is to discontinue that coverage so you do not have to worry about unpaid premiums once the contract is cancelled. Just one more way we look out for our customers.
Thanks very much for being a long term customer and a valued member of the Protect My Car family.

Protect My Car offered a good, vast coverage on the Lincoln I own. When I had the conversation with the person on the phone, they were real honest about what they offer and what they do, unlike other folks that I talked to. They were a little bit slow about sending out an agent to investigate the car, but as far as service overall, it's a lot better. My car sat at the shop five weeks as there were several levels of approval that they had to go through. The estimator took about four days to get there, and then the estimator required the Ford company to take another step. I had to rent a car, but they came through and did a great job.

My first claim with Protect My Car was good but the second one was horrible. My transmission went out and the place I put it in did a nice job, especially when I had my whole engine replaced. The same guys who did the transmission did the engine but my car is still not right. I spoke to Protect My Car about it. They covered 50% and they are supposed to be investigating it because the contractor overcharged them by $900. I haven’t heard back from nobody since July or August. I paid $900 too much, and they’re not doing anything about my second claim with my engine. They should improve on their customer service and follow-ups. Nobody’s following up on the work that’s supposed to be done.

Thank you for your comments. We apologize for the delay in responding to your situation. As we indicated some time ago, the original claim was paid and closed. In order to move forward, a new claim will have to be filed either by you or by the shop you choose to use. Since you indicated you may want to use another shop, we will need to hear from that new shop, or you, in order to move forward on a new claim. Since we have not heard from you on this issue since August, we urge you to get in touch with the claims administrator. We will be in touch with you to assist you, but please do not hesitate to give us a call as soon as possible. We are here to help, but we need to hear from you before we can do that.

There were a couple other places that I called and they gave me quotes but Protect My Car was a little bit more of a reasonable cost. Others said they have full coverage and I was looking at how much I would pay for repairs. Unfortunately, because of the high mileage on my car, most of those places wanted almost $200 a month for full coverage. They would have covered the same thing that Protect My Car does, but looking at the cost by the end of the year, I would have paid almost twice as much as the cost of repairs. And so for them to have full coverage and pay that much money a month, I was like, “Yeah, it doesn’t work out for my wallet.” Protect My Car covers half and the cost was a lot better. It is worth it. They're more economical and more within my budget.
I had some work done two months ago. I had a situation with my CV joints, axles and the structure shocks for normal wear and tear but Protect My Car didn’t cover those unfortunately. My mechanic gave them a call, and Protect My Car said this is what they were gonna cover and how much. I’m like, “Hey, that’s great.” Overall, it was really a pleasant experience. It was the first time I haven’t had to do anything. Then today, I just dropped off the Stratus to my mechanic ‘cause my clutch went out. My mechanic gets back from holiday next Thursday and they’ll probably gonna be giving Protect My Car some calls.
Then when I had an issue with my credit card and the number got hacked and somebody tried to buy a bunch of stuff, I had to call Protect My Car and change the credit card number. The lady was wonderful and helped me out right away. She said, “Okay, that’s all we need. Have a great day. And I’m sorry about what happened with your card. Hopefully it’s all taken care of, but we’re good on our end. Thank you for calling us.” It was really super easy, quick and painless and she was super friendly and nice.

I waited in the cold for the towing department to get back with me and they never did. I called a towing company that I thought you contracted with to find out later the company refused to take your PO offer. I had to pay out of pocket which I had little money and had to pay 50% of the cost for car repairs. Is there another solution?

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you had any problem with the towing company you chose use. In the future, please use the towing and roadside assistance number in your policy booklet and on your ID card. That will put you in touch with our claims administrator to get immediate help. The problem with using towing company that is outside of our network is that it causes the kinds of delays you experienced. That's why we provide easy to follow instructions in the booklet as well as on the ID card. Take a moment to read the booklet and become familiar with how easy it is to get help when you need it.
The coverage plan for your vehicle does reduce repair costs by 50%. My car's old and I had repairs coming up, and I was thinking about that upfront dollar amount when you get repairs done. I decided to get a warranty. Protect My Car had called me and I thought about it. It’s an old car, and I didn’t think anybody would cover it, but they did. Their representatives have been real nice. When I filed a claim, it went fine. I picked my car up from the place that fixed it, and I didn’t know how my part of payment would be. And then all of a sudden, they took money out of my account. I was surprised that they just took the money out without having a conversation with me that it was about to be taken out.
The car went in the shop like three times in a row. I was so tired of it. I think it still has a problem relating back to that. It was overheating and losing water. And we’re still losing water, but it hasn’t actually overheated. We’re all kinda weary of it right now. We’re thinking about, “We need to get a new car, or a new used car” because it is 20 years old.
I'm thinking of cancelling the warranty. We’re struggling right now, and my husband’s about to be retiring this year, and we have to get all of our finances under control and in some kind of a budget. The money that I would save on a monthly fee could be used for a car repair and do it myself. Still, I would recommend that somebody give them a call and talk to them.

By the way, the repair cost authorization form you signed and sent us provided the authorization to bill you for the reduced repair cost. We would not charge your account without your permission in advance.

Protect My Car was the only agency I could go with due to the mileage on the vehicle. They're very, very good at what they do. I've not had any issues out of them. I've used them twice for oil change recently, and once for a repair. They’ve been pretty upfront with me to begin with. I just wish the coverage that they offered was a little bit better.

We understand your wish to have a higher level of coverage. The truth is, we have to keep the coverage affordable for the folks who need it most. Saving 50% on repair costs is far better than having no coverage at all and can really make a huge difference to folks on a limited budget.

I went to register my CVS ExtraCare card and the recording said, “Do you wanna save money?” And the next thing I knew, I had signed up for Protect My Car. I have filed a claim and it was not a pleasant service. I didn’t know the process was so cumbersome. It was long and lengthy in what they would pay for, what they wouldn't pay for, and having to fax in the bill from the repair shop. It was awful. I only filed a claim once and I was a bit disappointed that they wouldn't pay for my last oil change in March. When I took it in, they said that I don’t have enough mileage on it. Protect My Car coverage says there are three oil changes a year. But what they didn’t tell me was, if I don’t meet the criteria of 3,000 miles, then I'd have to wait a year. I did the oil change in March and I was trying to get one in August, and I didn’t think that was that close. I would never drive 3,000 miles in a three-month time period, more so, in a whole year.
Also, they're not open on weekends, which is a bummer because that’s when a lot of people take their cars in. It really blew me. Other than that, they're fine. The rep that I dealt with explained everything as well as he could, but there are 10,000 things that could go wrong with the car. Obviously, they don’t pay for maintenance, but outside of that, you don’t know what’s covered and what isn’t covered until you get to the shop and the shop calls the claim department.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you were not satisfied with the coverage. As explained in the coverage booklet, you are entitled to up to three oil changes per coverage year, according to the manufacturer's recommendations concerning your vehicle and driving habits. Please do not hesitate to call us anytime you have a question about your coverage or what the coverage plan covers. We are here to help.

I felt I was overpaying with my previous company. I was with CarShield for seven months and nothing went wrong with the car. And it always made me nervous that if there was a big expensive problem that required opening up the motor and/or the transmission and they determined that it was a solenoid or something electrical, that they would just not pay for that. So, I like the fact that Protect My Car would cover a solenoid. I know that most of these engine problems are electrical. So, the fact that CarShield doesn't cover that made me nervous. I like Protect My Car's structure better. I paid a little over half of what I used to be paying and they would cover half the bill.
It's policy that if a company determines that the issue is an electrical problem and not a moving metal part, they don't cover it. If my mechanic said it was a moving electrical part and it was a big expensive bill, they send out an adjuster who comes and does his own inspection and he might determine that it is an electrical part that was the original cause of the failure and then there's a disagreement, then it goes to arbitration and so forth. I had a rep on the phone once and he said if it's a big expensive repair or if the transmission needs rebuilding or the top half of the motor needs rebuilding, most times, they pay it. I said, "Well, what percentage of times?" He said, "75%." That's not good enough for me. It was more clear and more clean. Protect My Car has a cleaner, more realistic structure.
I did a claim with Protect My Car a couple of months after I switched to them. It was a camshaft actuator solenoid that was the problem. That was the reason my check engine light was going off and there were a couple of other problems too. And the fact that I was with Protect My Car brought my bill from around 1,100 down to 650. So, I was quite happy with that and I just had my free oil change, which was the first of three this year. I like that too. That's another thing that CarShield doesn't have.
The mechanic did the filing of the claim for me. That was what Protect My Car told me to do. Before the mechanic does any work, they have to give them a call. He was a little bit skeptical about the oil change. He said, "You know, I don't really make much on the oil change and I hope it's not a big time commitment like it was with the repair." It was a complex repair. There were lots of moving parts involved in that repair. So, I take his griping with a little grain of salt. It wasn't like it was just three little things.
Overall, I'm happy to be with Protect My Car. I like that they have a rapport with AAMCO. I'm an Uber driver, so the health of my car is more important to me than the average person. The salesman was awfully helpful on the phone when he pitched me on switching. And if I hadn't switched, my feeling is that CarShield would have left me out in the cold because it was a solenoid that was the major problem there. It was not a moving metal part that cracked in there. It was an electrical thing. So, that's the main difference and that's why I like Protect My Car better.

Please call us anytime you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to help out.
Thanks again for your comments.

I was looking for a rental car then and I pushed a button, and I ended up talking to Protect My Car. It was a good time to call because I’m in the car dealer now and I'm curious to see how much they’re gonna pick up of it because right now, it just doesn’t seem financially, it’s worth anything to me. So now, my question is just value and whether or not to maintain it. But the people who I talked to, and even the first time that I thought about dropping it, the lady spent time with me trying to tell me all they offer. She was telling me things that I didn’t know that they offered. She was really kind and that was one of the reasons why I stayed with them.
For today, I don’t know what’s gonna happen when I file a claim because so much of it they said, “That’s not warrantied.” And you'd think, what really is? Am I really gonna wait for my car to break down and cost me $4,000 and put $2,000 in an old car? Even if you pay half of that, am I even gonna put $2,000 in it? So, to me, that’s what the benefit would be. But right now, saying it saved me 50 bucks on my oil change that cost $75 a month, I’m just right there. I have heard other people who didn’t get as much. It’s hard if I'd think it’s about making money and being scammed. But at this point, I’m still with them, so I don’t feel it’s a scam. So, I would tell somebody to look at them, but I would also tell them what they cover.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car. We are glad you did.

After I got Protect My Car I wasn't happy with it. I didn't like the terms of the contract. I called them up to cancel it, and the girl wouldn't take no for an answer. She said, "I'll send you an email," which I never seen it, and they just kept the policy going. So right from the get-go I wasn't happy. It was a one-sided contract. And for the amount of money that it was gonna cost it was insane.
Then when I finally had to use it I told them that they made a mistake on the policy in the first place. It was not a 2002 car. It was a '98 car. "Oh, that doesn't make a difference. They have all our records, so I'll call them up." But when I called for a tow, tow company says, "We don't have you listed at any place on the policy. We don't have anything for you." So I had to jump through hoops, go through the company, get all the stuff and information, so I could get the car towed. It's the first tow that I asked for because I couldn't get the car started.
Unfortunately they didn't tell me where I could take it to. I took it to a local Goodyear dealer that wouldn't accept their insurance, and they didn't do nothing with the car. They got it started, but a week later I had the same problem. I went back up into a private shop. I had some work done on it, and they referred me to another shop. They said it might be an electrical problem. So we took it to the other shop. They had it for almost a week. I was without a car for a week. Nobody offered me a rental car or anything which I should have gotten. I had a bill for over $700. I paid 400. They did pay the couple hundred dollars of the bill. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

So far, everything is working out pretty good with Protect My Car. I don't have any problems with my vehicle, but knowing that I got the coverage gives me the assurance and the confidence that if anything does happen, I got them to fall back on. The guy from Protect My Car who called and sold me a policy gave me the assurance of having a brand new car coverage for a used vehicle pretty much sold it right there. It was like I got gold coverage for the price of lead. You can't beat that.
The guy put me at ease. I did have a lot of questions because I had another policy with another company, and I was making a comparison between what he offered with what I've already dealt. That sold it. I had problems with the other people. They didn't wanna pay for some things. The guy assured me that Protect My Car would stand by their word. And to me, that's what makes or breaks the deal. And then, I told them I really wanted to pay the policy in full. He said, "No. It would be best if you do month-to-month. That way, you can actually try us out. And if you don't like it, when you encounter your first problem, you can cancel, just not send your payment in and we'll cancel you out." He was on point. They did pay for my car but it seems like every time they gotta pay by check, it takes too long. It takes a whole month and that needs to be worked on. It's like they have to go to different departments and do this and that approval-wise. The shop is not going to let your car go even if you give them half. I have filed a claim before and it went okay. The whole thing that's connecting the tires was worn out and it was all replaced. My interactions with their reps were good. The only difference is that with my previous provider, I'd only pay a $100 deductible. With Protect My Car, I'd pay half of the quote, which is high. I would rather if they have a deductible but not half because that's too much. Sometimes because it's too much, I cannot afford it. That was what happened to me. She convinced me that for $98 a month, it will protect my Escalade, and it was a good offer at that time. When I made my first claim, we had a misunderstanding and then I was gonna cancel. But somebody from customer service called me and they told me that they will handle my case personally. After all that, everything became very good.
Protect My Car's service was okay. It’s gonna be a year on February since I've had it. I still worry about my 2005 car because I still have to pay the 50% deductible. They pay half and I pay half. So, if it’s a 2,000 thing, I still have to pay a 1,000. I’m 56 years old and I drive very carefully. But on things like a motor and it breaks down when you're driving, there’s nothing you can do. You just have to do what’s next so people would know. But I feel comfortable because at least I have an insurance to cover part of my breakage.

I needed to get some repair work done, and saw Protect My Car online. The sales reps were a little bit pushy, but not too bad. Also a lot of things weren’t covered. I thought it was kind of a bumper-to-bumper, where everything covered. They could also have a little more of a discount if you use a certain garage.

They got in touch with me and they got me on a really good plan. To the best of my knowledge, they gave me a discount for being a student, and I appreciated that the payments were reasonable, which is around $70 a month and that they offered 50% as far as anything mechanical issues. It seems to work out. I drive a Ford, so I was having the fears of future problems, and it seemed like a good thing to go for.
They strive for getting the best deals and finding mechanics that I'm getting the cheapest rates. When I had my first claim, I contacted Protect My Car prior to taking it to the mechanic because I didn't know what to expect and they said that I could just go in there, give the mechanic their number and my personal ID number and they would work it out. So I took my car in, and they had work done. The bill was a total of $1,100, and they covered half of that and I paid the other half. Having the warranty definitely brings ease to my personal well being.

My car is a 2006 and I didn’t have any car warranty for a while. As I was looking through some papers one day, I thought of doing an extended protection plan. I did with Protect My Car and I've been with them for several years now. I had a water pump that was going out. The shift changer gear kept hanging up in park. Sometimes, it was really hard to get it going. It was leaking really bad. So, I contacted the dealership. I just took my paperwork in and the dealership did the claims process. They need to correspond directly with the Protect My Car people because they need to know that the work is being done by authorized people. So far, communication has been good. My car is still in the shop. They had to do some seals. My experience with Protect My Car has been good. I knew having an extended protection plan would be helpful when I have a problem.

My car had went down on me and I was looking at the warranties and I happened to see Protect My Car. Protect My Car has been okay so far. I got my car back in the shop now, and I was just getting my cooling system done. Before I was gonna put it in the shop to get my cooling system done, I had broken my axle. So, that made me really had to put it in the shop. When I got it in the shop, got with Protect My Car and I hooked up with the shop and they got to talking, I talked to Protect My Car again and they were like I had to pay a $967 deductible. I didn't understand because I’m paying them every month and I'm paying them out of the blue. I wasn’t expecting that. Protect My Car didn’t let me know ahead of time.
What their rep told me was that was my half of the payment, on my half of the work, and they were taking care of the other half. When I had got my car fixed from them the first time, they paid for everything. But I ended up paying for stuff that the shop had came up with and extra little things that they had found, so I had to come out of my pocket on that part. I understood that. But then when I put my car in the shop again on this one, they hit me with a 900 something dollars. It wasn’t clear. Protect My Car let me know, and I didn’t tell them I was unaware of it. I was like, “This is just unexpected right now.” I was waiting on them to get back with me to let me know when the guy can start on my car at the shop. And the only way he can start on it was I had to pay that $900 deductible first.

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry you had any confusion regarding your coverage. As explained when you got the coverage, and as clearly defined in the coverage booklet, your coverage includes a fifty percent deductible. That means your repair costs are cut in half. On your last repair, though, the shop you chose to use originally quoted you $2,407.00 for the repair. Protect My car got that estimate reduced to $1,934.00, which is why your 50% portion of the repair came to $967.00. So the coverage actually saved you over $1,440.00, on just this one repair.
We are glad tat the coverage worked so well for you.

I read about Protect My Car and I said, "Let me try. You never can tell what works or not.” I had a good interaction with their rep. However, there were certain things that they did not explain properly. I've filed a claim for a transmission issue. They were able to help me but it was a little frustrating. They did not explain properly, especially the renting, that you have to go and rent your own car and then they will take care of it. They never did explain that the customer has to put out a certain amount. That was what I was unhappy with. I suggest they explain to the customers every detail especially when renting the car, what they expected, etc. Otherwise, I'm okay with the service.
To get everything approved, it took me a couple of weeks, plus the back and forth of, "You have to do this." And one customer service tells you one thing and another customer service tells you another. That was not acceptable to me. But everything got straightened out and hopefully, it would not break again. Having a vehicle protection plan is very valuable. It's something that I would recommend to anyone, whether they have a new car or old car.

We are glad to have saved you so much money on the repair and we appreciate your choosing Protect My Car.

I had a claim and I took my car to a shop and I just gave them the number of the claims. The shop called Protect My Car and then I didn’t really have to do too much more after that. The only thing is they had my car for about a month, and a rental would have been nice. Besides that, everything was pretty cool and smooth. There were no issues with the payments.

I’ve been pretty pleased with the service of Protect My Car. The initial time was wonderful. I thought I was covered, and everything was gonna be great. Then when I had the first claim the submission part wasn't too bad. I took the car to the dealer, and the dealer called and explained to Protect My Car what was wrong with the car. They only paid for part of it. A bearing needed to be replaced in the car, and they said they couldn’t pay for the bearing because it’s part of the flap wheel, which made no sense to me whatsoever. And I’m still a little pissed. I had to pay for it out-of-pocket. The initial sale was that it covers all drivetrain components. And this was a drivetrain component, and it was not covered. I still have the warranty. I still plan to call them if I need it. But I am kind of leery.

Thank you for your comments. Just so you'll know, the shop wanted to replace the housing, which was not covered under the contract. The remaining drive train components were all covered and this one repair saved you over $2,500. We are gald the coverage was able to help so much with this repair and we thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

Protect My Car is a great company. They have taken care of me from the day of the reception and looked for the best option for my situation. They covered it when I had problems with the car, and if they couldn't cover it, at least they cover the basic necessity of towing. So, that was a great blessing. And if I'm doing a claim, it's easy. If the car company, like the person who is fixing my car is doing it, they don't like waiting and then they don't have patience, so it really would fall back on me. But I don't mind doing it. Everybody that I dealt with is always professional. Even in my frustration, which happened one time, they were always professional. They made sure I understood everything. I love them and I really recommend them to anybody who has an older car. I plan to add another car after I make my initial payment that I owe for this month and next month.

When I called into my bank and was about to do a transaction, I was told that there was a promotion. I thought I might as well get it anyway because if Protect My Car was gonna pay half, then it was gonna be way cheaper in my pocket, so I could save money as well. But when I called in and I asked if they had a list of mechanics that they preferred, they said no.
I live in Rochester, New York and a lot of mechanics like to do scams. I would like for Protect My Car to get some type of review on companies and actually prefer a company for customers. Sometimes, when I go into these mechanics, being a lot of them try to cheat me out of my money, but I have a brother that knows the prices and the work It's like two different people would be getting cheated. Let's say the mechanic said that the cost was $1,000. Protect My Car is gonna pay five and I'm gonna pay five, so we both would lose money. Also, when I tell a lot of mechanics that I have Protect My Car, they try to make the bill go skyrocket. I tell them no and go somewhere else. I ended up going strictly into the dealership so if the car is made by Chrysler, I'm gonna go to Chrysler. All in all, my Protect My Car experience has been good.

I had a great experience with Protect My Car. Their reps were very helpful. They explained the benefits to me very well. I had a compressor that went out of my car. I took it to where I always have taken my car over the years, to Firestone, and things went perfectly. I had no problems whatsoever. They gave me a rental car for the time they had my car. They fixed my car and turned the rental car in. They actually had a extra day on me stating that I had to pay for it but they didn’t know they granted me that day, because it happened to be over a weekend. And when nobody was open on Sundays and they weren’t getting the parts, so they had to put that on Monday. I like Protect My Car mostly because they’re prompt and on time. The garage took care of the claims process with Protect My Car. They did an oil change and they had an engine repaired. And then, just recently was a transmission. So far, the Protect My Car coverage seems okay as far as the claiming. But they cover only 50% of the job. You still end up paying half of it. Sometimes, the bill is $3,000 and then, you have a coverage paying $3000 of that warranty, and I still have to pay half of the damages. That’s the only down part about it. The coverage that I had in the past covered everything including rental. That was when you had less mileage. But I guess it was due to the mileage. Other than that, my experience was okay. I just don’t like the 50% thing.

Thank you for your comments. We completely understand. As vehicles get older and have higher mileage, it is almost impossible to qualify the vehicle for coverage. That is why we began offering the ambassador program. It helps folks with older, higher mileage vehicles that are unable to get help any where else. By reducing repair costs by half, we help a lot of people that could not otherwise afford the repair costs. That allows us to keep the monthly premiums very low. That is something most people on a tight budget really appreciate about the program.

Protect My Car was great, but it was not so great when I did two claims. They didn't deny my claim, but they gave me a hard time approving my claim because they said I got an aftermarket intake. When they tried to deny my claim, I told them to let me argue my statement about the airflow and a catch can. They apparently listened to what I said and did their own research and understood that a aftermarket filter is better than a stock filter, and a catch cannot hurt the car and it only helps the car. I give them credit on those things. I didn’t have to pull the Mechanic Act from 1776 that they can’t deny my claim for aftermarket parts and they can prove that aftermarket part is what’s causing damage.
They agreed to pay for the warranty but I didn't realize that it was only a $10,000 warranty. After $10,000, it’s over and done with. My truck is worth 14,000, and it is only going up in value because it’s a rare vehicle. So I don’t know what was gonna happen with that because there ain’t no sense to me to keep paying for something that I can’t use. Other than that, it’s been okay.
Their advertisement says they cover some more stuff than other people cover. But they didn’t cover window motor and the heater coil, and those are things that a lot of people don’t know to look at. Being a car guy, that’s just something I know. Their prices were reasonable. But I still don’t understand the $10,000. Another thing was that the first time I had a problem with my engine, Protect My Car told the shop to rebuild the top, and I told them that it didn't make sense. I didn't know why they didn’t put a engine in it anyway. They wasted $4,000 of my warranty on rebuilding the top of the engine. And then a week later, I needed a whole new engine. But they didn’t have enough money to buy me the right engine, so I had to settle for a lesser engine than a GM, and it was a remanufactured engine, and they would only pay $6,000. They couldn’t find the engine for my truck, so I had to find it.
If they listened to me the first time, we wouldn’t had two claims. There would only been one claim and they would probably got it done under $10,000. So now, my policy only got maybe $100 or $200 left. I got a new engine and I got another four and a half years left on my policy. Four and a half years times $80, they would get at least $5,000 back out of me. I quit paying the policy this month and they ain’t gonna get more money out of me. Whoever the upper management with this company is really not thinking.

Thanks again for your comments.

Their coverage was cut and dry, plain and simple.
There was a time they got my vehicle into a shop and I got my transmission replaced. The claim went good. But if the adjuster have not mixed up my pictures I wouldn't had to spend over a month without a vehicle. My experience with Protect My Car has been cool, but I gotta take my car back to the dealership. What happened was, a light came on and it said something about the wheels. The picture it showed was all four wheels. Something was wrong with it and it was shaking. When I took it in, the shop gave me a loaner. They fixed the part that they were supposed to fix, then the recall was on, then they fixed the part that it was initially there for. They were supposed to be trying to negotiate something with Protect My Car for the spoiler in the back, but when the shop called me, they said that Protect My Car don’t cover that. I just said that I’d get that fixed on my own later on down the line. I had the car for two days. I had my car sitting and it was warming up, and the same lights came back on.
I called it up to take it to the dealership and the Protect My Car rep said, “All right, send me a picture of the light that’s coming on,” and I did that. She said, “How far have you went?” I said that I haven't gone too far because I only had the car for two days. But this weekend, I'd be driving more. Yesterday, when I was at a relative’s house for our Christmas, I have my car warming up and the lights came on again. And when I started to drive, it was driving rough, and another light came on. It still has something to do with the wheels stuff and it said failure. So, I took a picture of it. I called the shop this morning and they said, "The earliest we can get you in is Tuesday morning, so we can give you a loaner. But if you bring it in right now, we ain’t got no loaner for you.” I said, “All right.” I’m leaving this weekend anyway and I‘m leaving in another car with somebody else. So, I'd leave my car parked for the weekend until Tuesday when I drop it off.
Overall, the claim process has been easy. It’s just me trying to communicate with both people because at first the shop said they were calling Protect My Car and they weren't answering. I was even calling them and it was not going through for days. But they said something was going on with their phone lines, then they wound up getting in contact with each other and it worked out.

Thank you for your comments. remember, we are here to help. If you are still having a problem with the vehicle, take it to the shop and have the shop call the claims administrator. We will give an honest appraisal of the situation. That is all part of doing the best job for each customer.

My truck was getting older and I wanted to have some protection on it, so decided to get Protect My Car. Their guys are good, but it always takes forever for me to get my vehicle back every time it goes to the shop. My truck has been in the shop for two or three months now and I still haven’t gotten it back. I had a bad PCM and Protect My Car haven’t even ordered it yet at the mechanic shop. And it was between the shop getting whatever part Protect My Car wanted, versus what’s affordable.
It’s been in the shop before because my truck blew its engine. The engine that Protect My Car picked that they told the shop that they had to buy, ended up costing the exact same as the ending that they had wanted. But the one that they had wanted was a completely refurbished, everything was replaced, water pump and everything. But the one that Protect My Car had them go with, they had to swap over a bunch of parts from my old engine. So it ended up costing the same, labor-wise. It’s like labor brought the price up to what the other actually cost. I know that it’s within the paperwork of the truck at this point. Since I’m still having issues with the truck, Protect My Car told me if it has anything to do with the engine being swapped, it has to go back to that shop, which makes sense because of the whole warranty.
I usually call to try to figure out what’s going on between Protect My Car and the shop. Their reps help with what they're able to and they explain how they can. When my truck first went to the shop and I was having problems with getting it back, the shop was saying that Protect My Car reps were not answering their phone calls. And then, Protect My Car reps were saying that the shop wasn't calling them. Me being a third person between the two, that was a pain for me because both sides were saying that it wasn’t their fault. And I couldn’t personally tell exactly whose fault it really was because, for all I know, the shop wasn’t even calling Protect My Car.

I love Protect My Car. They're the only aftermarket warranty company that I’ve used that actually works. I’ve had at least three different companies and this is the only one that actually does what they say they're gonna do. The other ones just took premiums and never honor a claim. One time I got my tires rotated and they broke a ball joint. And then I had to pay for them breaking it and Protect My Car paid half. And then CarShield or somebody was like, “Oh, we got a better plan for you.” So I cancelled and then I switched over and they just took my premiums. But I’m now back with Protect My Car and they're the only ones I trust. Whenever I speak with them they're always very professional, very courteous and very pleasant to work with. I told the dealership, “I have this insurance but I don't know if they'll pay this.” Most places, you have to wait a month or something like that. I said, “But you can call them and see.” He called them and they said it was covered and it's been replaced. They covered like half of it. That was okay with me because I felt bad claiming something so quick. Our transmission messed up, but it’s still covered under Nissan, so we had both things fixed at the same time. They did a real good job with Protect My Car. The mechanic was the one to call Protect My Car. I'm very satisfied.

Thank you again for those very encouraging comments, and thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

I had a transmission replaced in my truck back in August, and Protect My Car handled it very well. I still had to end up paying half of the cost of it. That’s part of the deal overall that I pay half the cost of everything. But the only thing I was a bit concerned about was because I ended up having to pay for a rental out-of-pocket, and I thought part of the agreement was to reimburse me for that. It cost me a good bit of money. I also thought once they get a notification that a vehicle is in the shop they get to speak to the servicing dealership or repair facility. I would think they would ask right then and there if there was a rental car associated with the customer having transportation until the vehicle was fixed. I had asked about it but I never really got any real answer or any return phone calls when I have spoken to the representative. But they were pretty good with calling me back in regards to getting the truck fixed. They were pretty good for the most part.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you had an issue with the rental car reimbursement benefits. We will be in touch to help you with that. Basically, the coverage reimburses you for rental car expenses you incur when your car is in the shop for repairs.
We are glad the coverage saved you so much on the repair cost. Thank you again for your comments.

At one time, I called and I talked to a gentleman, and he was really sweet and cool. At first, I wasn’t sure what I was gonna go with, and when I called and talked to Lee, she helped me out quite a bit. I got my car it worked on and the place that fixed it did all the talking to Protect My Car. The mechanic did fix my issue. With what the issue was, it was kind of expensive of a fix, but I didn’t pay. I only paid the co-pay. It was only 100 bucks. It was great service. So far, everything is going pretty good with Protect My Car. It's working.

I was online, reading on my phone, going over certain things for cars, and I happened to have ran upon Protect My Car, and I liked it. I went through four or five other companies and Protect My Car was affordable and they had a lot of things that were helpful. The specialist I dealt with was very good. The claims process on my fuel pump and broken belt was quick and detailed. Communication was open between both parties and myself, which makes three parties. So, all parties involved had an understanding on what was going on and what work was done.
When I went to a person that serviced the vehicle, we had to make a phone call and Protect My Car's customer service was very good. It took less than a day for my car to get fixed. Since having my extended vehicle protection plan, I have had more sense of security. I have the ability to know that if I have a problem, I will be helped at any moment. The quality of this company's service is excellent -- you can't go wrong. I already told some friends to them.

I was purchasing a BMW, so I wanted to make sure that I had something “just in case”. I looked Protect My Car up and it was the first one I saw and I talked to, and that’s who we went with. My experience has been okay. Their reps were always good. There was only one time that we kinda had a disagreement. I had coverage on my wife’s car and on my car, and somehow, her car had stopped three times and she kinda needed a tow. And they weren’t specific at first like they said that she had three tows and I had three tows a year, but they never told us that a tire change was a tow. My wife needed a jump and they considered that as a tow. And so that happened three times with her. I used it twice and I paid out of pocket, and they wanted the receipt to send the money. The first time, they did. But the second time, they wouldn’t do it because they said that my wife’s car had used it.
I told them, “Well, that has nothing to do with me. You should’ve charged her then, plus you should’ve let her know that the other two things was considered a tow. ‘Cause she still thought that she had a couple of tows left when she didn’t.” The situation was long and drawn out. There were two reimbursements. One was $65 and the other was like $110, and they sent the $65, but I never received the $110.
They just worked on my car not too long ago. I don’t feel like they did the best of jobs because I still have certain issues with it. But I did bring it back a few times and they did try to fix the issue, but it’s not working. Other than that filing a claim with Protect My Car has been wonderful. They cover a lot of the things that need to be covered. They have been really good. Everything always ran smoothly.

We do appreciate your choosing Protect My Car. We know the coverage will save you a ton of money and give you great peace of mind.

Getting a service contract for my vehicle was something that I never even imagined doing. I was on the phone and one of Protect My Car's representatives was professional enough and was able to give me a verbal in-depth consultation over the phone, giving me enough confidence to believe that it was worth trying. He was well-knowledgeable of the service, and had given me as much intellect as I was not really mentally prepared in getting so much knowledge about a service I never tried. The monthly payment was within my budget.
I had to get some work done to my vehicle. My horn stopped properly functioning, and I had a issue with my key switch cylinder. I had a problem with using the key in opening up the door. I had to use my alarm key fob. I filed a claim, and the claim was taken care of as promised according to their agreement. You pay partial and they pay the remaining balance. I know that there was no additional problem afterward me paying my part. I have no regret from becoming a customer. I pay my monthly premium, but it's something that I gotta spend for the unexpected.

If I have the discipline to set that money aside every month, I'd be paying more for repairs than Protect My Car does. We had a recent claim and for what they covered, I don't think it's worth the 97 bucks a month. They only covered a couple hundred out of like 1,500. And as old as my husband's truck is, I really don’t think it's worth it anymore.

Thank you for your comments. We completely understand. For most folks with older, high mileage vehicles, breakdowns happen much more often than you'd like. Setting money aside each month might cover one repair, but only if the breakdown happens after you have saved enough to cover the cost. Setting aside a small monthly amount and applying it to the premium means you don't have to worry whether you have saved enough to handle a big repair.
You know your vehicle and your budget better than anyone. If we can help you with the cost of the coverage or offer any other help, please do not hesitate to let us know. We are here to help.

Every time I would call, I would get a different person and I don’t like that. Having Protect My Car helps, but the assembly-line approach is frustrating and it slowed down the process when I was dealing with my account trying to get my repairs. There should at least be notes on the account, so that if I call and talk to a different person, that person can see the previous conversation and the hot points of it. I had a couple of issues when I filed my claim because I dealt with so many different people. It delayed things for three days. Also, the part that I got put in is not working anymore (a couple of weeks after I got it replaced). I have to send it back, and let the dealership look at it then they have to reach out to Protect My Car again to get the part replaced.

I read a post online and Protect My Car was cheaper. I purchased a warranty from them and everything was good in how they handled my problems in my claims. I got an alternator at one point and they paid a portion of it. It wasn't that much but it was good. And it was the place where I took it that dealt with Protect My Car. Then I also had my transmission done, but they gave me a hard time with that one! They wanted me to go through the dealer but I didn't wanna pay that much money to do that. The place I was taking it to gave me a good deal, but it was already for a year warranty. The Protect My Car people wanted me to do 5 years, but I was not keeping the car for that long and I only wanted to do a whole 12 months since I was gonna get a new car in the summer. In the end, they paid for most of the portion, almost a split even. That was the only one that had me a problem but everything else was fine.

The Protect My Car rep went over a lot of things about the policy and the procedures on how to get claims. They were very knowledgeable on the subject and confident. And they were passionate about delivering. When I filed a claim for a radiator, I thought when you called and sent the claim, they’d just go ahead and get everything done at once. But I had to call them, and then they had to put an extra hour on there to call back and make sure that everything was right. It was a slow and long process of paperwork. I thought tune-up work was a maintenance thing that was required to have for the car, so that was supposed to be paid for but they didn’t pay for that. There are a couple of different issues going on, and I'm mostly satisfied with my experience with Protect My Car. But I had a little bit of trouble with getting service for my 3500 dually. It weighs a lot, so not everybody can handle a vehicle that big. I had a garage picked out, and then it took a long time to get the service scheduled for my truck. But they ended up firing my truck and saying they didn't wanna work on my dually. They would work on my other vehicles, but not the one that my insurance policy is on. They said it was just too much trouble.
They were so dragging their heels about getting it in. And I could get over to Pep Boys in Frederick, and while it was there they came up with an estimated bill for the work that needed done as $3,000 plus. And they haven't even got one of the parts in yet. So I went home with it and they were waiting to hear on that other car. On the way home, I went through a dealership and found out that I'm probably not gonna get that part. I ended up not being able to get that particular issue repaired on my truck. It's a heater panel, air conditioner control panel and an electrical issue that's gonna require some electrical tracing of the wiring to find out if this wiring is bad or the panel is bad.
But the panel is available from Advance Auto. They have six of them in stock. AutoZone also has that part. So, it's not an issue of the parts not available. It's an issue of they don't want to buy parts from AutoZone or Advance Auto. They wanna use dealer parts. So, now, the other half of that Pep Boys issue, I ended up taking it back to them for them to do the other work after Protect My Car tossed them out of doing as much work as they were planning on doing on my truck. The work only came to $800, and I ended up having to pay only $405.
So they could improve in how they handle getting the service because I lost my garage that's closest to me for my truck service. But that's not a big issue for me because I'm moving 1,000 miles away from here and this truck is moving me, and it's not gonna be here to be serviced by them anyway. So, I need to find a mechanic out there that is used to dealing with Protect My Car. Now, the issue of the written estimate seems to be a problem for some mechanics. They don't want to provide a written estimate.
I've never done this before, so this was an experiment. I got that truck knowing it would need repair, and I repaired the issues at the time of purchase, before I put it on the road. I spent about $2,500 of work into that truck. There might be an injector issue down the road, and that's an expensive job. So I thought I'd give Protect My Car a try and see how it worked out for me. And if it worked out for me, I would tell my kids they should do this too. They paid all of my repair expenses, and I didn't have any issues with getting it done timely. I didn't have any issues with losing mechanics off of it because they didn't wanna work with Protect My Car.

Thank you for your comments. It is certainly regretful that the shop you chose to use would not work on your vehicle. If we can help you locate a shop in your area that will take the 3500, we will be happy to do so.
Thank you for choosing Protect My Car and thanks again for your comments.

I purchased a luxury vehicle which could be pricey to fix with complete out of pocket expenses. I researched and looked at customer reviews, and I compared Protect My Car to the rest as well. They have a good monthly fee price and low deductible. Then, my interactions with the representative during the purchase was a pleasurable experience. We spoke about what's entailed and what's covered more in depth than the sample contract that was sent.
I had my first claim when I recently had the fuel pump of my Genesis replaced. Because the dealership where I go basically dealt more with the people, filing the claim was pretty much easy. The only con I have is whoever my service specialist was dealing with, had them on hold for a while, haggled the price, and then I had to wait extra time for them to send the part. Having to sit at the dealer and waiting for whoever it was, got me pissed off and frustrated a little. At one point, I was in and out of there 2 or 3 times, and he was on hold still waiting for a response. I was told that the claim process is a little quicker than what it was so I expected 1 or 2 days, but not 3 days. So, I was left without a vehicle for longer than what I expected. Also, the turnaround for the car would have been sooner if it wasn't for having to wait on the parts to be mailed out.
As for rental service, nobody contacted me from Protect My Car to offer one. I know someone would contact me if I got a reimbursement, but I was never contacted. The only thing the specialist over there told me was they approved the repair and that they disagreed with some pricing. Then, I also had to pay extra for diagnostic service fee that Protect My Car refused to pay. So, on top of my $100 deductible, I had to come out another $25 out of my pocket. Other than those issues, Protect My Car took care of everything else.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

Protect My Car was reasonable. I have both my cars on there first, and then for some reason, they kept one on but then the other one fell off. It’s like I had to directly deposit it. The money comes out to them, and it did on one car and it didn’t on the other one. They didn’t let me know until it had already expired at the last minute that I had to give the money in. I thought that it was still being directly deposited until they told me it wasn’t, and it was too late. I told them it was no fault of my own because they changed companies. They changed the way they were doing the business instead of calling me and letting me know what was going on. Once I made the first call, they would go ahead and pay the claim, and then it would be done that way. That’s what they changed it to and they didn’t really know that much. And then, one of my cars fell off and then I had to go through another person.
I have a claim that I have to talk to Protect My Car about. The claim didn’t go well. They don’t want to pay to have the service done on the car right now. Protect My Car pays half. I pay the other half. The car went through an extensive amount of work before then, then they said they didn’t wanna cover it. They didn’t wanna pay for what was wrong with it. They didn’t wanna pay the half. But then, the people called back and said, “If something else, it’s not the expensive part. It’s the less expensive part,” and Protect My Car called me and said they don’t feel like they should cover it. I was supposed to be calling and ask them why they don't wanna cover it when it went lower. So now, I got to pay for the whole repair cost out of my pocket. But they paid for other services that were equal to what the cost of what’s wrong with it now.
The repair people said they had to put a new timing belt kit in, and the car worked at first. They thought it was the motor, then they said it wasn't. They put the timing belt kit in and it worked. Protect My Car paid $2,500 for the motor, and I was gonna pay the other $2,500. The timing belt kit was like 800, and they don’t wanna pay the 800 because it’s like the car’s worth is less than the repair. They said the car was only worth $200. But one of my previous repairs was like $400, and another one was $1,500. I paid 700. If the car’s only worth $200, why would they even go with the first repair which was like at $800. We split it out then and they paid 800. Protect My Car was good at first until all of these happened, and I’m not understanding it.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car to help protect your vehicles.

They negotiated well with me at the beginning of the contract to get the monthly within my budget. Protect My Car was good to listen. There was some confusion on the details of the program in trying to get a transmission replaced. They did well about going back and explaining the details of the contract to me and how their process on their end works to replace that transmission. The initial quote that I got from Ford was outrageous, but they were able to get me a comparable transmission at about half the cost. So, that was definitely a positive.
I was involved in the process, asking lots of questions and doing my own research because I wanted to know the details. I wanted to know if the transmission that they were able to get was because it was so much cheaper than what Ford was quoting me and if it was a comparable unit. I probably asked more questions than the average consumer. So, there were a lot of times when I had to call and the representative that answered the call didn’t always have the answer, but they were good to either call me back or find out from the supervisor exactly the process and protocol that needed to be adhered to. I was happy. Prior to the repair, I was thinking if this was gonna be worth what I was paying to it at the end of the contract and it was. I’ve enjoyed it. It’s been a good value.

Thank you for those thoughts. It means a lot to us to know our hard work pays off. We are glad to have been able to assist you with the transmission repair and replacement. Thanks for the review.

I thought they covered my brakes and radiator, but they didn't. When I had an oil change and when I called for a tow truck because my battery went, they moved expeditiously. On the towing, when I first signed up, I thought it was for anywhere I needed to go, but it was only for a certain amount of miles. Besides that, I'm satisfied with what I got. Protect My Car is helpful for what I need them for.

Thank you for your comments. The coverage booklet is very clear as to what is covered and what is not. Basically, the coverage is for mechanical break downs. It does not cover wear and tear items like fluid for your radiator, brake pads, tires or other items you have to replace as they wear out.

My car is a Buick LaCrosse 2014 and I bought it used, so I’m making good, substantial payments on it and being able to offset repair cost is kinda important. When I had a claim, Protect My Car worked with the dealership and got it done. There have been some instances where Protect My Car hasn't paid off 50% and I'm sure that it's covered in the policy. Other than that, it has been helpful to know that having the coverage helps me when my car breaks down and I won't pay one huge chunk. I've used them a ton. My truck is almost new by now. I have a new engine and new alternator and Protect My Car has helped me cover a lot of that.

Our primary goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide good peace of mind.

I heard that Protect My Car had great service and it is able to cover certain stuff that I can’t afford, like mechanical problems with my vehicle. The supervisors at the dealership also told me that a lot of people have it and that it's good. I used to have Shield, but I didn't like it and it didn't cover some stuff. I like Protect My Car better. The supervisors at the dealership always call them to cover and get paid when I need work done. I love the warranty and I think that I’m gonna keep it.

Sometimes, it’s a pain in the neck ‘cause they got a lot people there waiting in line. But so far, the protection plan is working and I've had no major breakdowns yet.

My son had bought a truck and it was just like mine. He had a few issues and I was like, “I just got my checkup. I’m gonna try to find something like it.” So, I started looking online and I talked to several companies. I’ve heard horror stories about a lot of these warranties when something goes out, where it’s gonna sit there for a week or so until their main person can come down and go through all inspections. Protect My Car doesn’t have that requirement in most cases, and the free oil change has really helped out a lot.
The reps seemed to be good and polite, though it seemed like they tie a lot of time up on the phone whenever I had an issue with transmission. It was three weeks before we got anything in the works on it. It took a little bit of a hassle there and the garage had some issue on getting their money at the time. The rep was supposed to fax it over, so he did and I didn’t hear anything from them. I called them the next day and they said, “You didn’t fax it over.” So, they did it again and it wound up being a few months before they actually did it because they didn't have time to sit around at the garage and be on the phone. And whenever he does call, he’s on hold for a long time. I lose a bunch of money when I’m without my truck in the summer when we’re racing ‘cause we win quite often and we win some big money.
I know Protect My Car is a little bit more expensive, but they supply their own transmission. It seems to be a pretty good transmission so far, so I’m fine with that now. I just didn’t know that going in. If they had told me that going in, I probably would’ve still done the warranty, but I’d be more prepared. Knowing that, it may not have been as big of an issue. Overall, I definitely recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time and giving us such a wonderful review. Thank you for the five stars.

It seemed that Protect My Car would protect me more than the other warranties, so I just said I would try, see how it would go. I will keep it for a while. But, of course, it's good to have for a car insurance. We never know. I was calling for somebody, and they have put me on the line and hooked me up. I was waiting like in about this interview or something they were calling. And during waiting time, they have all kinds of advertisements.
I got the oil change free or rotation, and if something mechanically will happen, motor or something, they will cover 50%. So far, so good. I was changing the oil. Nothing major. They automatically withdraw my money from my credit card monthly. I just don't like those points because I can't redeem those if they're just coupons. I was confused because I was thinking it's points in money. I would have those rewards. But I don't like that because I'm not using that. If they change those points into dollars, that will be super-duper for sure.

Thank you for your review and for choosing Protect My Car to help you protect your car and your budget. We appreciate that very much and we know you'll save a ton of money with this coverage.

I buy used cars. My wife’s got a new one. But if you get an engine, or transmission, or something major replaced, then it can really cost you an arm or a leg, and we don’t have that kind of money. So, better to buy the insurance and still hope for the best. I looked into a bunch of companies. I had another car that had too many miles but some of them wouldn’t cover it. Protect My Car's reps didn’t make me mad so I went with them. If they were rude or just uninformative, I would have said, “Okay. Well, thanks for talking to me. Goodbye.”
I broke an axle so I took the car in the dealer and said I got this plan. So, they said, “Okay. We’ll take care of it.” They got the parts and all that, and it cost me $400. But it was a lot better than the 1,400 they were talking about. I tried to talk my in-laws into doing it and they had two cars that were 20 plus years old, and they were too stubborn to do anything. And then one blew an engine and they said, “Gosh, I wish I had listened to you.”

Thank you for the five stars. We are glad you are with us and we will work hard to make sure we meet and exceed your expectations.

I dialed the wrong number and ended up calling Protect My Car by mistake. I had just purchased a vehicle about less than a month before that so it seemed to be good timing. Also, I was moving out of state so I wanted something that was gonna cover me. The rep seemed knowledgeable but there was a lot of car talk which I knew quite a bit about my old vehicle and not a lot about my new vehicle. But at the time, it seemed like it would be a good deal.
I've filed claims for reimbursements for oil changes and the process has been a huge headache. When I call and talk to them, they give me their email and I have to send them a copy of my receipt. I took a picture of my receipt, uploaded it and emailed it to them. I had two oil changes with the same dollar amount 'cause it's the same car and I go to the same place. But I never submitted the first one so when I went to submit two requests, they never processed one of them thinking it was a duplicate. It took them two months to figure out it wasn't a duplicate and approve it.
Another time, they shorted me the tax amount and I had to hound them for my $3. It was ridiculous. Also, it's inconvenient because the person who handles reimbursement is just one guy and he's not always there. He has a stack of paperwork to do every day and if there is an urgency, he can put it through when he wants. If he doesn't feel like it, he'll get to it when he gets to it. The claim process is extremely frustrating and time-consuming. It almost made me wanna cancel but then, they said that if I canceled, I wouldn't get my reimbursement. So I am waiting until my last reimbursement and I'm still considering canceling.

Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

I thought that Protect My Car would take care of their business and pay for half on the stuff that they need to pay on and I’d pay the other half, yet I’ve been through three mechanics and they haven't been dealing with them. I've been doing my part on paying, but there’s something wrong. I needed some items fixed on the vehicle, and the first mechanic shop that I dealt with only deals with Mercedes and BMW. They faxed Protect My Car the information of what was needed. The tech didn’t want to deal with Protect My Car because they kept holding the business.
Protect My Car sent me to Pep Boys who kept the car for a week and never did anything, and I got the car towed back to my house. My car was stored in a corner like it was junk. They told me they would call me in a few days when they get the part. It’s been a month and I haven't gotten the call. I don’t understand what’s going on. I’ve been jumping all over town getting the car towed out of my pocket. I've been getting the oil change out of my pocket ‘cause I don’t know how to copy and paste the deal and send it to Protect My Car. I'm 63 so I don’t know how to do that, and I haven't been able to get anybody doing it for me. I've been walking and catching buses for almost two months. I need to get a mechanic out there that wants to deal with Protect My Car. I could’ve gone to the dealership, but at the moment I'm out of pocket on that end.

I have a 1995 Nissan Sentra. I knew my car needed repairs, how much it was gonna cost and I knew I didn't have all the money. My brother put me on Protect My Car warranty and told me they would cover me so I applied. The fact that Protect My Car gave me a warranty and looked out for me every time I needed help shows a lot about the company. I had some repairs that needed done and because of them, I didn't pay the full amount. Any time I need an oil change, they offered me two free ones which were cool. I also used the warranty when I put a new valve cover on my car. I'll also be using it soon to fix a power steering leak. But when I call them to file a claim on my car to get it fixed, I shouldn't be waiting for 45 minutes to an hour for somebody to answer the phone.
I'm also happy with the fact that if I chose to get rid of my car in the near future, I could call them and cancel it for a small $50 fee. But I shouldn't be paying a $50 fee to cancel a membership that I've already been paying for. That seems obnoxious to me and it should be $10 or $15 because that fee is never used. Plus, it would be more appealing to a new customer if the cancellation fee was lower.
Also, I shouldn't have to pay a shop for maintenance. My warranty should cover all simple maintenance, all oil changes and tire rotations throughout my whole term until the point I cancel. I also want a premium that is lower than $77 a month and starts with the same coverage. But other than that, I'm good and I'm happy with them. Thank you Protect My Car. I probably wouldn't have my car right now if it wasn't for them. It's an old car and they have kept it running. I'll continue to use them.

We apologize for the phone issue tat one time but we are very happy you have saved so much money with the program. Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

Some warranty companies would say they'd pay for a service and then next thing you know, it would not be done and you would be stuck with this big bill. Also there are certain things that they don’t do and it causes a problem for the customer. With Protect My Car, they partner with their customer where the customer pay half and they pay the other. So you are 100% sure that your car is being paid for to the mechanic no matter what.
My mechanic keeps asking me why I’m paying half of the price when there are other companies that pay more than what the warranty company that I’m with. I've explained to them that it's because of the fact that Protect My Car guarantees that they’re paid. Also, my Mercedes-Benz is an older model and my monthly payments are not that expensive and it’s for a short period of time.
So far, any claims with that I filed, Protect My Car was able to guarantee payment and was able to assist. I was always there when the mechanic shop called them and they made sure that everything was taken care of. Also, any time I’ve called customer service, they spoke to me directly with no problem. They answered the phone and they answered my questions. There were some issues with the engine in my car that Protect My Car was able to assist me with. Everything’s changed out and certain things to correct it. They paid half of the bill and I paid the other half. With the oil changes, they guarantee 100% of it. They also pay 100% of the payment for other little minor things.

Protect My Car offered me services and value and I felt like they were gonna be fair with me so I filed quickly. They referred me to AAMCO, which is a mechanic shop. They offered that they would pay 2,000 if I paid 2,000. I'm on a fixed income and could not get a loan to afford that kind of money. While the car was there at that particular shop, the people found out that they could get it financed for me and they did. I went with them because I needed my automobile repaired.
Even after that, I felt like Protect My Car should have offered me something in return for the money that I paid them. However, they told me they didn't owe me anything. I didn't understand that. I said that the mechanic that worked on the car charged me $642 and that they should refund me some of that money back. They said no. I told her that I could get an attorney to look into that and they might have to give me my money back. They said there was no way I was gonna get my money back. I'm very dissatisfied with Protect My Car.

Thank you for your comments. Regretfully, as as you were told at the time, when you were unable to pay for your portion of the repair, we closed the claim until you were ready to proceed. You then arranged for the financing and completed the repair without further contacting the claims administrator. Your coverage would have paid for half the repair cost, but your coverage cannot pay half your consumer loan since your coverage specifically prohibits reimbursement for claims that could have been handled if a claim had been properly filed before the repair work has been completed.

Then I got to choose who to repair but they didn’t want to pay all the labor either. I bought a Protect My Car service contract for a Corvette. One reason why I got it is the notorious issues with electric alarm on older Corvettes, and because it’s pretty expensive to work on. Now, I’ve tried to make a claim with them but it didn't work out too well. They cover for what they think it should cost to fix, not what it actually cost to fix, and they only cover half. So, it’s like $1,150 to fix the AC but all they wanna cover is $350. The reps were nice about it, though, and that’s with the books that they go by. They said the part should cost a certain price, but nobody can find the part with that price. I tell them to find a part for that price and then send it to me, but then they tell me that isn't their job.

Thank you for your comments. Your coverage reduces repair costs for covered repairs by 50%. That's why the covered portion of your repairs came to $1,176.38, you paid only $588.19. The other repairs were to wear and tear and other components not covered by the policy.

I also did some research on their reputation and I didn’t do a whole lot of other comparisons to see what was out there, but their offer seemed like a fairly good deal. The warranty seems very valuable, too, especially considering all the different possible problems that I could have with the car and it covers a lot of the bad ones that would cost a lot of money.
When I signed up, they told me what needed to be done and I hooked up the car dealer that I was dealing with on the repairs. Protect My Car's reps did most of the transactional work and my interaction with them was pretty smooth and short. But it took a little while between me getting an estimate from the dealer who was gonna do the repair and the actual repair getting approved. It took a couple of days and that took a little but slower than it should have been. Maybe that's just normal for something like this and they probably would have given me a loaner vehicle if I needed one, but that wasn’t really a problem because I have other vehicles that I could use.

I purchased a Cadillac 2004 and if anything goes wrong with it, I don’t wanna mess with it. So, I said that I'll get a warranty for it in case my motor or the transmission goes bad because I knew it will cost me a lot of money to get it fixed. I called another warranty company and the lady told me I qualified for what I was trying to get. They told me they would pay for everything to get it fixed and I even got a car rental. They told me to take the car to wherever I wanted to get it fixed and they would fix it without me having to pay anything, which sounded good to me. So, I got the policy and everything was fine. My transmission went bad on the car and I got my car fixed. People went in there and checked the car. They saw that the transmission reverse went out on it, so they rebuilt the transmission, and they paid for everything.
I've seen Protect My Car advertise on TV and I said that it would be the same. The lady told me that I qualified for it since my car didn’t have over 150,000 miles. So, I was assuming that they would cover everything for my car. It has been nine months and my motor went bad so, I called them and they told me to take it to where I gotta take it and get it fixed. I took it to a mechanic shop and then, when it got down to paying, I had to come up with the money. The gentleman said it was gonna cost over $3,000 and he called the company. He told me that Protect My Car was not gonna pay the money because my car was only worth $500 and the cost over exceeds the value of the car, so they would only pay $800. After that, they told me they were only gonna pay half of it. Then, when I went to see when they were gonna pay for it, they told me I have to pay for it first before I get any money.
It seems like Protect My Car is nothing but a rip-off company. They're not honoring what they said they were gonna do. It has been a total mess because I figured that the value of my car is not $500 and they’re not certified workers at all. If they told me when I was getting the policy that my car is only worth $500, I would not have gotten this policy at all because there's no sense spending $3,500 on a vehicle that’s only worth $500. I would rather just buy me another car and throw that one away. If they could give me another Cadillac like the shape that mine was in, it's impossible to get it for $500. I see junk Cadillacs with bad motors and they want $1,500.

Thank you for your comments. We hope the coverage works out for you. Thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

Protect My Car has good reviews where I come form and I decided to go with them. All my questions were answered by the rep and he explained the coverage to me. It was a good conversation and experience with him. I had service for getting an oil change and once I took the car to the dealership, I called Protect My Car’s customer service and they gave me the information that I had to get to the dealership. From there, they did everything.

Thank you very much for those comments. We really appreciate them. I was looking into purchasing service contracts for our vehicle because it's an older model car and I would like to keep it running. But I was nervous about of the prices because I've heard of some of the prices that other companies has provided. The Protect My Car representative broke down the payments to me and how it actually was going. I felt like that was a reasonable enough purchase. Their customer rating was reasonable too, and when I do decide to get a newer car, I was gonna transfer that one over to that because the amount of payment is reasonable. My plan covers everything that I would need, so it's good. It's been a great experience.
Their reps were friendly and down-to-earth. They spoke friendly enough to work with you in giving what you were looking. One time I had a dispute between the auto people that was working on my car. I called to report the auto people, but I didn't know exactly how that part worked. The rep told me that he felt my pain. But I didn't even wanna deal with the people anymore because if I have to go to that place to get one thing on my car fixed more than twice, then I feel like they're just not a reputable place for me.
I went in to the place to ask them to fix my air condition. I told them that I had brought a brand new pump for my air condition, it's like two years old. When I put it on there, I found out that my condenser was shot. I told the guy when I went in there about my condenser. He said, he put the pump on there, and it wasn't running. I'm certified in residential and I know that when you run a check for any type of electrical problem, you start at the beginning which will do the head of the dash and you work your way back if you have a split system to find out what's wrong with it.
The guy put the pump on there, he told me that it was working and he had a problem with the clutch on the compressor. But he was saying it was fixed, and then I looked at the bottom and I have no condensation dropping from my pan. So, he never went into the dash to check the condenser, now they wanted to charge me. Now again, they wanted to work on the condenser one more time. I said no. So, when he went in there and he put the condenser on there for me, and he told me that it was the weekend and that they don't get paid till such and such a day, and that they can take the car home for the weekend. In my mind, I said, "Well, that's what I paid $1300 for the first trip down there." It was $999 for him to put on a compressor, a fuse for my fan, and something else, and charged it up. I said, "But you didn't fix it. So the charge should have been free in the first place."
That was the second time. Protect My Car was asking me why I wasn't paying. I told them I've already complained about that place and I'm not paying them. Overall, it's a great plan to be in. Anyone that's got an older car needs that for the simple reason that the bills could rise up into the thousands. If you're on any type of fixed income, you need that. It's a great deal. It's fantastic. For me, it's a money thing. It's right on point, exactly what I needed. It's doing what it's supposed to do. All I have to do is get the mechanic to figure out what's wrong with the car. There's no dispute of that. The money from Protect My Car is right on time whenever it's needed. At least that's what the mechanic that was ripping me off was saying.

Our goal is to give every policy holder good peace of mind. Great rates, towing, rental car benefits, fast claims processing and the personal touch are just some of the ways we help provide that.

I thoroughly enjoyed Protect My Car, but I’m going to have to cancel my coverage because I wrecked my car, and I haven’t got another one yet. I heard about them through one of games that I play on the internet. And I thoroughly enjoyed them because the coverage I had, they say it’s for half the labor-and-parts cost of repairs, and I have used them.
I was extremely happy with how easy it was. I just called. I even got to tow to the Coyote dealership, and the repair was done. I used Protect My Car three times on my Coyote before I wrecked it, and I always had pleasant people to talk to on the phone when I was making the claim. The dealership at Coyote told me it was the best extended warranty they had ever worked with. I was happy with it. I would probably get it back when I do get another car. I took my little book that I got in and gave it to the dealership to let them have the numbers to call. Everything was always approved for repair as soon as they talk to them, and they had done a test to see what was wrong with my car.

Thank you for your comments. It really means a lot to us all to know our efforts are really helping give our policy holders good peace of mind.

Protect My Car was more hungry for my business so that made me feel good. They would try to do everything to satisfy me and the purchase experience was real nice. I like that for claims, I cover half and Protect My Car would cover the other half. The good thing about it also is that Protect My Car would pay for BMW parts. A lot of companies wanna buy aftermarket stuff to put on your car. But Protect My Car will buy the original part as long as a fair price is given for it. The only problem with Protect My Car is that when it was actually time to pay, there were certain things that they didn't pay.
I needed some sealant in mine because I had some oil leaks and what Protect My Car said was more along the lines of, "If it's wet, we cover. But if it's dry we don't," That was more or less within the engine part of it. The repair was pretty expensive and Protect My Car only covered so much. I was responsible for the rest. Altogether, it came out to be like $9,000 and Protect My Car only covered maybe $3,000 of it. But next time, I know the repair won't be that expensive. I'll get the full breakdown of it. That aside, I like the service with Protect My Car. Everything is going well with the warranty so far and the claims process goes real nice and easy. You call them and tell them what’s going on, and you’re good to go.

Thank you for your review and for choosing Protect My Car to help you protect your car and your budget. We appreciate that very much and we know you'll save a ton of money with this coverage.

I picked up this 2008 Chrysler Aspen and it had 191,000 miles. So it should be a good idea to have a service contract for it. I got one from Protect My Car but I drive very conservatively and I've only used the contract a few times for repairs. Unfortunately, a young gentleman left turned in front of me in July 24th of 2018 and destroyed my car. I needed another car after that car got destroyed and I found a 2007 Chrysler Aspen. It had a 190,000 miles on it, too. Based on the good luck I had with the previous one, I bought that and I've owned that for a year and a half now.
As part of preventive maintenance, I took it in to have the transmission fluid changed and the engine and transmission fluid wasn't covered by Protect My Car. But after I had that done, it was wintertime and my car was leaking transmission fluid. So I took it in to another shop and used Protect My Car. They ended up replacing the transmission line and the oil cooler. The oil cooler had been damaged too.
Other than that, I hate that Protect My Car says that they'll pay for your oil changes but I have a hard time finding places that will accept them. The dealers will, but they are so busy and I have to schedule it. Sometimes, it's hard to get in. But when you go to a shop and ask them to do it, the people at the shop complain that it takes so long to get the approval. We have these places here in Minnesota called rapid oil change and when I called up Protect My Car about it, they said that the dealers are supposed to honor their coverage. But the local rapid oil change place wouldn't take the Protect My Car coverage because they said it takes too long to follow up with them. So I haven't used that Protect My Car a lot. I wanted to use it but I ended up doing the oil change myself.
Also, in reality, I read about the quality of oil filters and I was concerned because the oil filter that the rapid oil change put in was a really small filter. It was undersized for the car. When I was watching this YouTube video where they cut apart different oil filters, that particular brand of oil filter was a very poor construction. So when I changed the oil myself, I bought a premium filter from NAPA that was rated as being the best filter out there. I figured with a car that has a 190,000 miles, you certainly don't wanna be scrimping on the oil filter. I put a synthetic blend oil in it too.
The other thing is, when you do the oil change yourself, you could put I put it up on ramps and let it all drain out. I did that and had it sat the whole night to drain out. When you do that, you'll get extra dirty oil out of the car and you'd never get that from rapid oil change. Even if you went to the dealer, they're just gonna drain most of it and still have some dirty stuff in there. The last that comes out is the worst of the car, and has the thickest and most dirt in it.

Thank you for those comments. That is exactly that we like to hear. In fact, giving our customers great peace of mind is our number one goal around here. Thank you very much for letting us know we are meeting that goal and thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

Overall, my experience with Protect My Car has been great. Because I have a luxury car, the repairs and the maintenance can be very expensive. And so, if I could save on that cost, then hey, why not? When I found out about Protect My Car, it was on a reputable website. I was on a call with Medicaid. And so, I figured it wouldn't be a scam if it was on Medicaid’s call. So, while I was waiting, it was kinda one of the things that was being talked about. And so, I took the number down, and I called, and I went forward with it.
Protect My Car's rep was a really nice guy who helped me through the process when I purchased the warranty for the very first time. He asked what kind of vehicle I had, what kind of vehicle my husband had, and he walked us through all of the benefits and the parts. All of the representatives have been great and very helpful. Each time that I called in, they had been done at the 50% that they guarantee. And then, I had a small issue with them charging me a little bit more. They said they had switched over to some new service who deals with automatic payments. They handled that right away. The quality of Protect My Car’s service is good. With what I pay, I’m definitely getting a good quality. I’m only paying 50% on whatever it is. That’s definitely good security.

I have a policy with PMC and I am happy to have the service. However, my truck has been at the mechanic's shop for a week without even being touched. The issues have been diagnosed, but the inspector had to go out to verify that the needed repairs are legit. I understand that, as it saves both PMC and me money. However, I have called every day to PMC and I keep getting the same "We'll call you back as soon as we've completed the claim" line, but each time, I was the one who had to call them for updates. Actually, I may have missed ONE call from them. Also, the mechanic said once he starts the repairs (who KNOWS when that will be since he can't start until PMC authorizes the claim), it will take about a week to repair my truck.
PMC only wants to provide a rental for two or three days. I am STILL waiting on a phone call to tell me what is going on, and the work day is almost over. I work 7 days a week, so I need transportation. Even if they approve the claim today, I won't be able to rent a car until tomorrow afternoon because the Enterprise nearest to me closes at 6:00 p.m. I won't get off until 6:30 p.m. and I have to be at work tomorrow from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This has taken entirely too long and I'm extremely unhappy about it, as well as the lack of anyone at PMC keeping their word ("I'll call you back"). It's just not good customer service.

I was looking for an all-inclusive package. I talked with Protect My Car's rep, I asked what their contract covered and they said bumper to bumper. Then they sent me a pictorial. But it’s one of those type things and I didn't need the coverage at the time, so I thought everything was gonna be okay. But then, when you start digging down deeper, the service contract didn't cover some things that I really needed covered. I understand about certain things that go out with time, but my headlight thing really got me. In my car, you gotta go under the bumper and all that kinda stuff about the headlight. And the catalytic converter, which is something I couldn’t get to, was a pretty big-ticket item that I thought would be taken care of, and it wasn’t.
Other than that, I know we got the water pump repaired and a couple of other things. And so far, so good. The first time I took the car in, I had it towed to the place then the guy there developed a quote. After, he called Protect My Car and they didn't cover the repair. That was pretty bad and I didn't like that. So now, I have to call first to see if it’s covered before I even take the car in there. If the service is covered, then we pay 50% of what the deal is.

Thank you for your comments. We do hope you understand that covering wear and tear items, like light bulbs, headlights, tires and similar items would also require a substantial increase in monthly premiums. You can plan for the replacement of wear and tear items, but it is close to impossible to plan for a major breakdown. That is what this coverage is all about. It helps folks who suffer a major break down despite taking good care of their vehicle.
As for the catalytic converters, those are covered by each states laws and regulations concerning emission control standards, most of which do not allow service contract coverage. We do wish it was otherwise, but we do have to operate within the law.

I called Protect My Car and told them I was at the dealership. Then they called and talked to the dealership. The dealership had to take out some gaskets that Protect My Car doesn't generally cover. But to get to the problem, the dealership had to take it out. They bickered and Protect My Car agreed to pay $36 more. The car was fixed and my out of pocket was $100. I purchased a used vehicle so I was purchasing a service contract and Protect My Car got ahold of me first. I was gonna say no to the whole thing though, but then they came back with the deal that was fine. It was a price I could afford. My only complaint was that it took them six or seven months to get me my packet, my card and everything else. That's the part I was uncomfortable with. I had bought this policy and I was supposed to make these calls to have them actually pay over the phone.
I kept getting things in the email but I never got anything in my mail, like my ID card. It was like either I didn't have it or they didn’t tell me that they had it and they could send it. Everything that I had was like generic stuff that they send everybody and it just kept repeating. The first customer representative I interacted with was for that and it was fine. But the second customer rep was much better. The second one finally solved the problem and I got my packet. Once they said they're gonna send it, I finally got it. It took less than 30 days. But this is really slow.
Also, I didn't know that I can get all these oil changes and stuff. Nobody ever told me that except the second representative. That aside, I've done one claim. My starter had to be replaced and a part had to be ordered so that it could get done. The starter was done and Protect My Car paid it for that day. So far, the quality of the service is good and I have the sense of security I had before. I always had a new car with a warranty. This vehicle is a Honda so it's pretty stable and although the policy doesn't make it any more stable, it's nice to know we have it out there for the big things. I got a little ball joint issue happening with my car right now and I'm gonna be using Protect My Car. I've reached out to them and they'll cover about 40 percent of it.

They go through the dealership more but I go through Firestone to get my car services.
I used Protect My Car one time and they did pay, but I had to go back and forth because Firestone required certain things and Protect My Car needs it for the cost. It was like an invoice but Firestone don’t do the invoice until the work is over. If you go to a car dealership, they do it a bit differently. They can send you that invoice so it was a bit difficult. We were able to work it out to make sure that they get paid. I was worried and I wanted to make sure Firestone get paid as well because they did the work. But we both got paid. There’s just a process that I have to go through all the time. I've been with Protect My Car for a year and so far, I had one claim with them. The mechanic shop dealt with them and I didn't really interact much with them. But when you put in a claim, they have to send an inspector out and I don't agree with that. They want me to take my car to a licensed mechanic, a licensed mechanic keeps saying this needs to be done, then they're gonna tell me that they gotta send out an inspector, which prolongs the repair of my car longer and makes me have to walk or take public transportation. All in all, the quality of their service could've been better. Also, I got contacted by another company that told me certain things that they covered that Protect My Car wouldn't, like brake pads and stuff like that. And the representative said he used to work for them, so he knows them.

Thank you for your comments. we do hire independent inspectors when the claim warrants it. Rather than delaying the repair process, the independent inspector's report helps make sure that the right repair is being done and that the repair is done right the first time. W do not want any customer to have to go back to the shop a day or two after a repair was attempted because it was not done correctly the first time.

When I first heard of Protect My Car, I was on 42nd Street and I happened to be going to a site where they were talking about Protect My Car on Hot 97. Somebody was giving an example of why she fell in love with using it but I thought it sounded too good to be true. I called Protect My Car and when I told the rep that I worked for a union, he started telling me about the perks that he could get me. I was in school and the discounts kept going down. He seemed to know his job and how to navigate through the system so that I could get the most possible perks for my money.
Protect My Car had more perks at the time and it was really affordable. It was $69 after all of my amenities. At the time, I was financing and the interest rate was high. I had an extended warranty and it was excessively expensive. And after paying $200 for another policy that didn't have anything of the same, I decided to get Protect My Car after my initial warranty went out. My car was an older vehicle and I decided to do this to protect me 'cause I love my car.
While I was going through the deal, I told him it was good. But then, when I got the initial package, some of the parts that I know that I was entitled to don't come in the Protect My Car. The only thing that came in there was the policy and the car itself. So now, I needed to find out how to go about finding out for the other stuff that I was entitled to.
The quality of the policy is really good and I don't have to wait as long as AAA. When I am on the phone with Protect My Car, I had to wait at the most five minutes for someone to come on. When I was working, my car broke down on the 30 and the warranty was pulling on a 50. It was a Saturday and I told the rep about it. They told me they would fetch me first thing on Monday.
I was completely in disarray because of where my car stopped. I was scared and I had my kids with me. When I called Protect My Car, they were very passionate and told me it was okay. All of that anxiety when I fell went right down to my big toe when I kicked it right off me so I was feeling good. The guy was able to find a contracting company to come out and grab my vehicle. They happened to be on the same block and right next door to the garage that housed the cars that they were working on. The fact that they took that time out showed me that not only this person liked his job, but he was in this job for all the right reasons to make sure to service the client. I felt loved and I felt like I called my cousin Pete and told him what I needed. The guy made it happen all by 5 o'clock.
I had a $1,000 worth of works done to my car and I only paid $293 in total. That's with the difference of the tow, which is auto-deductible and for the parts that weren't covered. It was great because it fell around the same time as my car payment. I had the chance to be able to do both and still be able to have lunch. Then, I asked the place where I got my vehicle done if they thought Protect My Car was pleasant. He spoke of all the experience as the mechanic working on the vehicle and getting the payment. Even that transition was seamless. I hear terrible conversations about the payment aspect with a third-party but it was a good experience that when my car went out, the service guy went and got me a new car key. Also, instead of me having to pay $300 on a car key, I only spent $125.

Thank you for those comments. That is exactly that we like to hear. In fact, giving our customers great peace of mind is our number one goal around here. Thank you very much for letting us know we are meeting that goal and thank you for choosing Protect My Car.

My warranty was up so I talked to Protect My Car and they gave me a price which I thought was okay and I went for it. Their rep was good. That was why I bought it. Every time I've talked to them, they have been very pleasant and they've explained things, and I really like that. I just didn't like the fact that they didn't cover a particular item and it was in my warranty that they did. So, I was upset that I had to pay for it. Other than that, they covered everything.
While my car was in the shop the first time, they covered two days. The second time, they didn't cover enough because they had to send two parts. I made a deposit and they ended up taking the whole deposit and an additional money to Enterprise because they said that Protect My Car only covered two days. Now, I've had it five days. I had to wait until everything was done. But other than that, I've been very satisfied with them. I even recommended them to people.
I've been with Protect My Car a year or so. Their customer service rep has been fine. In fact, I called them and I had my dealer called them about what was wrong. They called me back to explain to me what they were doing, which was good. The monthly cost is good too. I feel comfortable that if something happens I can call them. I keep my book here so that if something happens, I could check the book first for the coverage, which is all spelled out in the book usually.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. We appreciate that very much. We are very pleased to have helped you with the recent repair and glad we saved you so much money. I was told that the extended warranty from Protect my Car was gonna replace the one that I had and that it was gonna start right away, immediately. I looked at the paperwork and then I called the agent directly, and she assured me that I had coverage. They promised me that it was gonna be covered for a lesser price. So I accepted it and they made me cancel the coverage I already had. But come to find out, when the alternator went out, my car wasn’t covered so I wasn’t happy to pay for it out of pocket. Then it happened again. So, I took it to a place that was certified, that had been in business for 30 years, and they agreed to cover it but they had to go back and forth with the agent from Protect My Car. The rep switched around saying the car wasn’t covered, but the car was covered by the warranty. So far, I haven’t had any more issues with them but I wouldn’t recommend them right now. They tell me one thing, but they do something else.

The dealership had to do something with the ball bearing and their mechanic handled the claims process. She said if your car happens to break down, you take it to a mechanic and the mechanic says it’s $1,500 to fix it. And then Protect My Car will step in and I just have to pay a deductible of $100 and they will cover it. At first I thought that was not possible. But when I did my research, it was true. Protect My Car kinda lives by it. I got towing done, but I had to pay the tow company out of pocket. There was a miscommunication at the beginning. I thought once I signed up, I will get services done immediately, but that wasn’t the case. I didn't know that it would take 30 days from when I signed up to take effect. I was shopping around for warranties and I was looking for someone new who was willing to be more so in my price range. Protect My Car gave me a better deal than anybody else that I had an opportunity to work with. The rep was able to break down all the information, and answer all the other questions that I had. He also gave me an opportunity to know about the perks that come with the program, and trying to figure out how to get more information about it was awesome as well.
He gave me an overall great vibe and gave me all the other information that I could possibly ask for and need to be able to make a quality and a sound decision. He gave me the opportunity to look at the different price ranges. Initially, he threw out a price, and I told him that it was a little too high. And then he gave me an opportunity to get a better pricing based on a sale that they had. He was able to get 10% off, and then another 10% off because I work for a city government agency.
The customer service representatives were good. They were able to give me information because I had a little confusion about how it worked. I was able to ask for them to be called by the service person, because I went to a Ford dealership to get my car serviced. They were quick. They did send me emails when I asked them for other information. They gave me everything that I needed to be successful and to get my car as quick as possible. My AC had gone out and it was $1,000. Protect My Car covered $800 of it. Everything was taken into a really good consideration, and they were able to get it done quickly. It took me all of four days to get my car fixed. I feel really secure with Protect My Car. I'm getting the best deal possible. If anything were to go wrong with my car, they will take care of it. And that if there’s anything else that I needed outside the warranty, they will give me the information for it. I am very, very happy with Protect My Car right now.

I got a service contract for my vehicle so that my car will be covered in case it breaks down and I’ve been with Protect My Car for a few months now. The reviews said they were good, but part of my repairs wasn’t covered and it didn’t specify it in the paperwork. They didn’t cover the joint on the front so I had to come out of pocket $700. The rep was good on the phone and talked like it was a reputable service. But lately, I’ve been shopping around to see what would be a better choice because I don’t want to be dishing out 700 every time I had to have a repair. I’m paying $110 a month and I would expect them to fix my car when it breaks down, which was not done.

Basically, the coverage lists those components that are the most likely to break down and be the most costly to repair. while no coverage plan covers 100% of any vehicle, we do believe our plans cover more components, at a better cost, than any other company.

Protect My Car got lucky I saw their ad on Facebook. I was skeptical at first as I thought it might've been a scam. So I figured I'd call and see what it was about. Then, they kinda rolled me in. They gave an initial quote which I turned down. I told them it was way too much and I wasn't gonna pay that. And they just kept lowering the price until they lowered it to something that I couldn't really refuse. Plus, they said I could cancel at any time. If something went wrong with my car and I got it repaired, and I still wanted to cancel, they said I wouldn't have to pay them back. So, there wasn't much risk to it. That sounded good and if everything they were telling me was true, it was a no-brainer and I signed up.
When I submitted a claim with them, Firestone handled most of it. There was a little bit back and forth because one of the people didn't really understand what they were talking about as far as what would be covered and what wouldn't be covered. So originally, they thought that I was responsible for half, but either way, that person was new and didn't know what they were doing. So that was a bit of hassle because we had to call back, get that straightened out, then some things that they originally said were covered were not covered.
But in the long run, everything worked out. I still paid my deductible and the car was fixed, though it took two extra days to get it repaired. So in the end, everything was okay. Now, I'm thinking about getting another car covered because I have two cars. I didn't wanna do both right off the bat just in case it was a scam and a bad call. But I'm doing my other car and I'm hoping they'll give me the same pricing that they gave me on my first.

My Protect My Car rep was pretty good. He was there, he was very informative, he let me decide if I wanted to go on, and he told me exactly what was gonna come. I called him back and he explained everything to me. He was pretty inquisitive and answered some questions that I asked. He went a little bit in depth about how to file a claim and all the benefits. But I need to check with him on that just to make sure I understand how that goes.
I filed one claim so far and the process was pretty good. The company that helped me do it was the place where I had my car. They've used Protect My Car and some other company as well so they made it possible to tell me who I needed to call, who I needed to talk to, what paperwork needed to get sent to them. Protect My Car provides good service. I went with them because payment is month to month and I didn’t have to pay anything upfront. However, the moment they start the warranty is after 1 month. They should start right away after taking the premium, but they said, “No, you have to wait for 30 days and you’ll do 1,000 mile on it.” Other than that, I have already filed a claim with them and it was taken care of.

Thank you for your comments. To answer your question, the first thirty days is a free look period for you to have plenty of time to review the coverage to make sure it meets your needs. The small down payment holds the coverage and terms so that will not change during the free look period. Once that period is over, your coverage will protect you and your budget, not to mention your car.

So far Protect My Car has been pretty good. Their reps pretty much knew what they were talking about and pretty informed. They gave me the breakdown of the plan and the rates, like some of the repairs and what they cover and don’t cover. I did the first claim through my Nissan dealer. It was a little back and forth and haggling, like what parts to use. I understand from the insurance part like they’ll go with the aftermarket parts, but normally if I was fixing my car on my own, I would always put original parts on the car. It will have a warranty on it and if something was to go wrong with it, that will be more Nissan’s part to fix it than Protect My Car. But Nissan worked it out and that’s the only thing I sorta didn’t like about Protect My Car.
Nevertheless, I already recommended them to like three people I know. I told these people that my car was getting problems and issues. My bill would’ve been like 3,000 out of pocket. I actually walked around with the bill to show them. When I took it to the Nissan dealer I only paid like 500. That’s the stuff they didn’t cover. When you’re comparing apples to oranges, instead of me paying close to $3,000 out of pocket, I only paid 500. I also had my radiator done and I only had to pay $100 on that, and they were like, “No. Really?” I answered, “Yeah.” Honestly, get it. It’s an insurance policy, it’s another bill, but when that car breaks down it’s really worth it.

Thank you for your comments. We can certainly understand your preference. Remember, though, Protect My Car provides a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty on all parts, so there are no worries. We do thank you for choosing Protect My Car. We know you will save a ton of money with this coverage.

The reps from Protect My Car were pretty good and professional. But they didn’t tell me what all I was gonna be buying because I did have a discrepancy when I ended up having to use them. My car messed up, but they didn’t tell me a certain thing wasn’t covered and I ended up having to come out of pocket. They didn’t tell me that I have to pay for my labor fees either. I filed a claim for my lower control arm that was bad. When I finally tried to get it done, it took them almost a month for my mechanic to reach somebody. So, that’s gotten a nuisance. And then, they hung up on him twice and me three times.
So, when my mechanic finally got in touch with them, my piece ended up breaking, and it ended up causing more damage and they wouldn’t do anything about it. They’re just covering one piece. They covered the piece that ended up breaking, but they didn’t cover the aftermath. And they told me that all I would have to pay is $100 deductible, and it would get fixed, but I had to pay the labor fees.

By the way, the reason that the control arms were not covered is that they were broken in half due to a collision. That is something your insurance may cover. This coverage is limited to mechanical breakdown repair, not accident collision. Even in that case we assisted you with the repair on the other damaged components and saved you over $650.00. That help was provided the very day we received the claim from the shop, not a month later.
In any event, thank you for your comments.

Protect My Car had a good deal and the people were nice. Everyone has been good, so far. However, when I had an incident when the engine wasn’t working, it took them two months to process. In the meantime, I borrowed my wife’s car. They didn’t cover everything. The coverage didn't cover rental. They only paid $10 or $15. And, they didn’t cover the extended warranty of the labors. So if the engine goes bad again, I have to see my paper, all things, which takes a long time. I have to take care of it myself.
I wasn’t very happy with the cost. They didn’t cover all the engine tracking cars, too. With some type of cars, the mechanic would add the oil engine removal cost. We talked to Protect My Car about it and they said they didn’t cover that. They also didn’t cover any more mileage than that previous mileage engine, and I wasn’t very happy. There were little things here and there that I wish they could do a better job. I saved money even though I have to fight for a little bit with Protect My Car. They didn’t cover anything. I had to pay pretty much everything out-of-pocket.
Then, when I dove even further into it, I said, “Well, let me ask you guys a question. I was told that I was covered for this, that and the other. Just in case if this does happen down the road, am I covered for them?” And they told me that it wasn’t. So, nothing that I’ve really wanted to be covered for the vehicle is not even covered. I was looking for an extended warranty and the gentleman from Protect My Car who spoke to me and who explained everything to me pretty much sold it. It met every criteria that I needed. Then, as I got into it, I found out it was probably the best one that I’ve researched. Everything was pretty good with filing claims with them and it was pretty easy. They have done their job. The only concern I have is that I’ve been taking my vehicle to a couple of places that are convenient but the service hasn’t been up to par. I had three recommendations from Protect My Car because they were local, but when it came down to the actual service, I wasn’t satisfied with them. I have not gotten a good service out of the mechanics I’ve come to. If I had it taken to a dealership, I’m sure my service would’ve been better because they would’ve been knowledgeable about what needs to be done about cars.
I had an issue and I was told I had to keep taking it back to the same one because the gentleman was supposed to fix it which I had originally got fixed. And I’m having a difficulty believe that I’m still having that same problem. But he’s telling me it’s something different. So, it’s almost like I’m never getting that one issue resolved. I don’t have that much knowledge about transmissions or problems that way. But Protect My Car could get an inspector come out there and give a review about the vehicle once it’s been repaired, that way it won't leave me in a bad situation and they wouldn't be just taking my word.

I had to pay for most of it out-of-pocket, though it wasn’t that much, but maybe there's a way that more could be covered. Other than that, the quality of service is good. It was simple and easy to work things out.

A friend of mine had a positive experience with Protect My Car and he mentioned the name and he talked about his experience. I reached out to them and the interaction with the rep was professional and high quality. We went a little bit back and forth with the specific things that the mechanic was talking to them about, and trying to figure out what was the exact coverage. It was very constructive. They were doing a decent job of balancing the details and the timeline. So, it was good all the way through.
I took the car to the shop for regular maintenance and the mechanic mentioned that he saw some oil leaking. He looked into it and as he took off this plastic cover and looked a little more closely, he made the assessment that something was leaking. He didn’t know what or where the leak was coming from. He worked out the claim on his side through Protect My Car and all of that was settled, so my understanding and thinking was to continue making my payments as usual. I paid the mechanic the balance of what I needed to pay that was worked out the representatives. I was happy with my experience with Protect My Car.

I purchased a service contract because I know if anything goes wrong with my car, it will cost a lot of money to fix it because of the type of car it is. I had called Protect My Car in regards to being interested in them before, but their payments were too high, so I didn't get any warranty with them. But then they called me back about a year later offering a dollar down payment, and then the monthly payments were a lot lower than what I was quoted originally when I contacted them. So the pricing was reasonable. The Protect My Car reps answered the questions and issues that I had. They were very knowledgeable with what was going on.
I filed a claim for my AC that had went out. I was taking my car for an oil change because it was time for it.. But while I was on my way there, I noticed that my air had stopped blowing cold. I actually noticed it the day before, so I was like, "I'm taking it anyway to get my oil change. I'll just inquire about it." So I thought it just needed some Freon because it just happened out of the blue. When I took it in to the repair shop, they called me back and said no, it wasn't low on Freon but the compressor had went out. So that's when I told them, "Well, I have a warranty on it," and I gave them the Protect My Car information and that was it. I never spoke to anybody. The repair shop did it.
Things weren't really explained to me properly until they actually started fixing the stuff on my car. I did not know that Protect My Car doesn't cover any kind of fluids or any kind of replacement that they had to replace in order to fix whatever was wrong with the part. The repair shop put a compressor on. I had to pay for all the antifreeze that they put back in there and they had to do something and I had to replace the oil. I had to buy bolts or screws or anything that they used to put my compressor on. So, that never was explained to me. I did not expect to have to pay for that because they still came up to be kind of pricey.
The claim process took a while. They had to send an inspector out. And then, after they sent the inspector out, it took them like three more days to even approve the repair. So my car was just sitting there because the repair shop wasn't gonna touch it until they got the okay from the warranty that it was gonna be covered. And because I know that if it was too expensive, I wasn't gonna be able to pay. So I told them not to do anything. That took a process, so I was without a car for whole seven days because I had to wait on Protect My Car to send somebody out. And then when a man came out, I felt they could have done better. When they come out, they should already have a laptop or something with them so when at once they approve the claim, then they should be able to process it right then.
It shouldn't be that they come out, Protect My Car approves it, and they can get a guy right there to work on it. They told them they had to wait until they got a confirmation number or something before they proceed. So it took them three days to send them that before they can even start working. I think that's ridiculous. There should be a quicker process.

We are very glad you chose Protect My Car. Glad to have you.

I called Protect My Car and told them what was going on with my truck. They told me that I had the kind of policy that I could take it to any place I wanted to so, I chose to take it to a Ford dealership. When I got there, I told the guy what was going on and he said that they would fix what was wrong with it and then they would call Protect My Car and get it taken care of. It was a sensor issue and Protect My Car told the guy from the dealership that they don’t cover sensors. Plus, it was the spark plugs and they don’t cover maintenance. The guy from the dealership named off all the stuff they don’t cover and it was all the stuff that was wrong with the truck. I was gonna end up having to pay somewhere close to $1,000.
I called Protect My Car myself and the first guy I talked to was real rude. I was really upset with him. The second one that they put on the line said he would get ahold of one of his supervisors and when he got on the phone, he said they would go ahead and cover the sensor which was $700 and something and that I would have to pay a deductible. Then, I called the dealership back and told them. I ended up having to pay $100 deductible and they didn’t do the spark plugs because the spark plugs were considered a maintenance thing that I didn’t know about. Also, I didn't think I had to pay the deductible but it was okay.

Thank you for your comments. It is unfortunate that the repairs you had done were maintenance and wear and tear items only. Even those cna be expensive. Remember, though, that the coverage is for mechanical breakdowns, not to replace wear and tear items. Those are replacements you can see coming and can plan for. Mechanical breakdowns are almost always without notice and can be far more expensive. If that should happen, you will be glad that you hd the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.
The coverage booklet explains in easy to understand and complete details on what is covered under your plan. However, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us. we are here to help.

At that time, Protect My Car was cheaper than some other companies. The rep explained that there were other reward perks that I could receive based on paying for the warranty product on a monthly basis. She gave me the breakdown as to what the cost would be and sent me the policy as to what would be covered and what isn’t considered covered.
What I did not see in there was that the company chooses if they wanna purchase aftermarket parts or pay for the parts from the facility. I didn’t see any language in there stating that it's up to their discretion as to what type of parts. I needed to find out on my end. I don’t feel that I should have to wait weeks to get my vehicle fixed because they wanted to buy aftermarket parts when they know my vehicle is at a dealership. The person I spoke with last time know based on the extent of five weeks that I went through about not having my vehicle that if this ever happens again, I'm doing more than just going with another company. I'm not happy with them at all.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that you feel the process cost more in time than it actually did. Remember, too, all parts provided by Protect My Car come with a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty for your protection.

He explained everything with the policy, what’s covered and not covered. He specifically told me how much it’s gonna be a month and for how long. He was very thorough and very informative. It was just his sincerity about it. He was very informative and I liked what he had to say and I purchased the warranty. I like this one better than the warranty I used to have. If there's a thing I'd complain about, it's to have everybody on one page and not have to wait so much time before we have that understanding whether a claim is covered or not. I had a mechanic say he was on the phone with them for an hour talking about the issue and they initially said they would cover but after, they said they wouldn't. He said I wasted all that time of his day back and forth. Other than that, it's been good so far with Protect My Car and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

My car is a 2013 so I knew I was gonna eventually start having problems with it. I saw Protect My Car's ad on TV and I loved it. I like the slogan, Protect My Car, which means I need to protect my car and it was catchy. It didn't seem fake so I wrote the company down and decided to call them one day. When I purchased the warranty, the representative who I dealt with was very helpful and really nice. He explained everything to me and he answered every question I had. Our interaction was excellent and I was really satisfied with the information that he gave me about the company. I also got them checked out with BBB and everything looked good. So, I decided they are my company and I went with them.
I called customer service a couple of times to ask questions and the guys were very professional. Somehow, they end up getting my wrong address, so I never got my packet sent to my house. I called them back and they resent it to me and I received it. I liked that and I told myself that I was gonna stick with them. Submitting a claim was good too. When I filed, I didn't have any problems and the representative told me exactly what to do. He also gave me the information that I needed to give to the mechanic that I took my car to. The total process took a day and a half and I like the way everything went. Everything was good, it went smooth, and I was very satisfied with that. Protect My Car has excellent quality of service and I've already told a couple of my family members and friends about them.

Protect My Car called me. They told me I had no warranty on my vehicle. I really wasn't interested, but the guy kinda talked me into it, and I wound up going for it. He sounded like he was legitimate and it's good to have an extended warranty on my vehicle. I didn't have one and I said, "Well, if anything major goes along, at least, I'll have it."
I had to use the service contract and I wasn't satisfied. I was thinking about cancelling it. The first time I used it, I needed a radiator fan, and they covered that with no problem. The second time I had issues with my vehicle, the car was making all kinds of noises and stuff. I took it in to Honda where I purchased it, and they looked at it, and I needed a whole bunch of stuff, but Protect My Car didn't wanna cover any of the things that were wrong with my vehicle. It was like $1,500, and they didn't wanna cover any of it.
I called. I was flipping out. I said, "I'm paying money for this. I didn't call you guys, you called me. And here I have an issue, and you don't wanna pay for it." So, they agreed to pay for one thing, which was the water pump. I paid $900 for two things that were actually covered. They wouldn't pay for it because the rep said that's not why I brought it into the shop. I brought it into the shop and they looked at my vehicle and they found all the stuff wrong with it, called up the warranty company, so they should've covered what's wrong with the vehicle. The mechanics knew what it needed. And Protect My Car told them and they didn't wanna cover it. I'm really not at all happy with them. They want me to bring my car and I'm supposed to know what's wrong with my car. If the parts that are listed that they cover and they don't wanna cover it, what's the point of me having the warranty.
I haven't had a chance to do anything because my mother's in the hospital and I'm going crazy with the house and then running back and forth to the hospital. So I haven't really had time to deal with the issue. But I'm very dissatisfied. The customer service when I called in on the phone wasn't really nice. He was a bit nasty to me. I would not recommend this company at all to anybody. I'm not happy.

I saw an extended warranty ad on Facebook and I thought it’d be a smart idea to get for my car. The Better Business Bureau pages showed that Protect My Car has been in business for the past 13 years. I had a claim with them that they handled pretty fast. The issue was with two inner tie rods and a stabilizer arm on the suspension. I gave the contract number to my dealer and they called Protect My Car, and they handled most of it with them. They came back to me later and said they paid for it. Then they authorized the repair and I just had to pay the $100 deductible. It saved me $700, which is pretty good. I had a fairly newer car so I got the Preferred plan which covers a lot more than these typical plans do for anything past a certain amount of mileage. The coverage is pretty good if you got a mid-level mileage car.

So far, my experience with Protect My Car has been okay. I had them before with the jeep I had and I never used it. The first time I filed a claim, it was something that they did not cover. I had also called one time for something and they didn't cover it. They just reimbursed me back. I was paying into the policy for two years or so and I never used it. So I said, “I’m just gonna drop it because I don’t think that’s fair.” I got another vehicle and the only one I knew about is Protect My Car. So, I called back, got another quote for the jeep I have now, which is another one, and they gave me around a bit more steeper price.
Everything was okay with the reps as far as explaining Protect My Car to me. And from my knowledge, it has a nice amount of coverage on it. There were some things though that they don’t cover. So far, I just filed one claim. It was for an air condition. I had to drop the car at the dealership and I had to wait four hours in order for a rental car to be picked up. They got in contact with Protect My Car, and that was something that was covered. The dealership went on and dropped me off at the rental car place. They told me it’d be under Protect My Car. I just didn’t like the wait time. If a claim is something that’s covered, they should go ahead and put it through with the warranty or put it through with the customer if the customer should cover it. The repair took a week. I made an appointment, but when I got to the dealership, they said they were behind by a week or two. But that was not our appointment.
So far, the quality of Protect My Car is okay. I just don’t wanna experience something that is not covered and be paying into the policy. If the claim is something that is completely not covered, Protect My Car should still help out the customer such as doing something of a percentage. I don’t care if it’s 25% of how much that problem is with the vehicle. It’s something just to hold their customer with them. But I do feel secure now. A lot of things are covered, and I know I gotta pay my $100 deductible and get the issue fixed.

Thank you for choosing Protect My car (Twice!)

The supervisor above Andrew ended up helping me but every interaction I had with Andrew was horrible. The tone of his voice and the way he would always cut me off when I was trying to explain something was very disheartening, especially when you have a car that you love and there’s a big bill above your head. I thought that I have a service that would help me but then, the service denied helping me.
At the end of the day, a gentleman helped me out and took care of the part of my transmission. He didn't take care of the labor but it was better than nothing. Back in May, I was thinking about coverage and the rep from Protect My Car contacted me over the phone. I wasn’t sure at first but after I received all the information and had the chance to compare with another program, I thought I made a great choice by choosing Protect My Car. When the rep was discussing the policy with me, he started asking me about my family and I told him that my daughter and her husband are in the military. I was expecting to pay one price but he gave me even more discounts than what I was expecting, so the experience was good. I was also given more information than I thought I already knew and it was even better than what you see on TV.
I have a regular mechanic that I go to and my car started making little funny noises. I took it to him and he said he couldn’t see anything wrong but he heard the noises. He suggested that I take it to a transmission shop. That was what we assumed at first and when I got it to the shop, they took a look at it and called me a couple of days later. There was a link that was rubbing up against something in the engine. They contacted Protect My Car and got them down to inspect my car and see if it was an actual claim that I could process. Then after that, they contacted me and said that they could do it. They needed information on all the work that I had done on my car in the last year. Once they got that, they went ahead and agreed to do this for the engine, and did it.
There were little things they didn’t take care of but when I talked to the guy who does the actual work, he said that a lot of companies might or might not. Protect My Car did the engine but they wouldn’t pay for spark plugs, the oil change and the oil filter. It was little stuff so I wasn’t tripping off to that. The other coverage which was the bigger portion of it was taken care of and it was a blessing at the time. I had a great experience. What they did for me paid for itself and I’m gonna keep the policy.

Everything is working out fine. I like the fact that I have used Protect My Car's service and I didn’t have any challenging problems. However, I had a situation where I was having a car issue and the first representative I dealt with was not as knowledgeable. It was about a month after I took the plan. My car was stalling when I was driving, so I pulled over and tried to make a call to Protect My Car to see what I needed to do. The representative told me that in order for them to provide me service, my car has to be completely stalled on the side of the road. So I replied with, “So, you’re telling me I can’t just take it straight to a dealership or somewhere to get it repaired because I’m stalling? I’m afraid if I turn my car off, then I’m gonna need a tow truck." Then, she said that if I turn my car off, then I would get the service because it’s stalled. I asked her what if I’m close to a dealership? She said that they won’t fix the car unless it’s stalled.
At that point, I told her that I don't want a plan that I have to wait until my car is completely stalled to obtain services. I hung up the phone because I didn't feel comfortable with the conversation. I then spoke to the manager, and he said I could take it to get repaired right away, but I had to call them before I get anything done. He was more knowledgeable, and he said he would speak to the first representative that I dealt with.
When I took my car in, I liked that I was communicated throughout the day with one of Protect My Car's representatives, and they kept on telling me that they were gonna work out whatever they could to get my car fixed, and they did. And then, I was in a car rental, so I wasn't inconvenienced. I've recommended them to someone already.

We will be going through some additional training for that agent and we appreciate your letting us know about your experience.

I was not happy with CarShield and then the regular wear and tear of my vehicle model that my mechanic said would probably come up in the next 50,000 miles were not the major parts that CarShield covers. And so, I looked for a company that covers some of the more major parts that I’m expecting to give me trouble in the near future and got Protect My Car.
My first big experience ended up pretty good. I called my mechanic, my mechanic told me that this is what was causing the problem that I was having. He has a copy of my policy page, so he was able to highlight a couple of things for me. And when it came up, I felt strong about it being covered. I called Protect My Car and turned in my keys to him. Protect My Car worked it out and he called me and let me know that my vehicle was ready. It was just that I was expecting to receive a call from someone saying that I was qualified for a rental vehicle given that the mechanic had said it would take this amount of time to fix my car. I was under the impression that that would be directed by Protect My Car and not by me. My mechanic said that that is not something that he is to follow up with. That was the only thing that I expected to happen but did not. However, they covered my vehicle for the damage that it had.

As detailed in the policy booklet, your coverage will reimburse you for the rental car expense up to the contract limits. We'll have an agent give you a call to go over your expense in more detail.

Their claims department was awesome, however, I wish there was a way to make the claims process a little quicker. I had a repair done on my car, and it took them quite a while to get it approved for the work that needed to be done. I understand they have to go into a thorough check, especially because I had to have a transmission replaced, and see the cause of it, but I was without my car a little longer than what I expected.
Also, AAMCO was calling me and Protect My Car, and I was calling Protect My Car and I was calling the shop since we were not hearing anything. I got told one time that they would contact me in 24 to 48 hours, but I did not hear from them for a week. A little more interaction would've been nice to keep me in the loop, letting me know what's going on and what's causing the delay. Other than that, they were awesome and they saved my butt. I’ve already recommended it to people.

Some repairs do take longer to complete. WE make sure that the right repair is being done and the the repair is being done right the first time. We appreciate your patience.

Having a protection plan is very important and I liked what the rep from Protect My Car was saying as well as their coverage plan. They said it was reasonable and that I was able to afford it. The rep was wonderful, very professional and explained everything to me. I asked them to call me back and to let me think about it. They did call back and went over everything. The windshield wiper motor went out as well as where you dispense the water to clean your windshield, and I called Protect My Car and explained what was going on. They told me to take it over to Acura and I did that, and they gave the okay to repair. It didn’t take long to get fixed and there wasn’t any problem. Plus, the customer service reps were 100% very intelligent and nice.

The best part is, we are here to help you the next time you need us as well.

I bought a car from somebody and the warranty was already up once I bought it. I was checking around on another warranty and I saw some advertisement online for Protect My Car. When I was purchasing the warranty, I had an excellent interaction with the representative and they did a great job of explaining the benefits and how to file a claim. Customer service has been very helpful and everything went well when I submitted a claim. All in all, I like the coverage offered. It’s not only affordable, but it’s way more helpful than most of the other extended warranty companies ‘cause a lot of them want me to pay $300 or $400 a month. So, everything is working out great.

We do work hard to make sure this protection is affordable for everyone’s budget. It’s all part of not just doing the right thing, but doing things right for each customer.

When I was contacted by Protect My Car, everything went how it should and so far, so good. I scheduled a towing early last week and no one ever showed up, so I had to redo it just last Saturday. Then I was a little disappointed when I had to file a claim. The way that it was explained to me, I thought a lot more was covered as far as parts and labor and stuff. I felt a little misled on signing up. But it is what it is. I'm sure their policies are what they are. Everything's been positive with the people I've spoken to there.

thank you for your comments and for choosing Protect My Car. To answer your question, your coverage dos handle claims for mechanical repairs, but not for wear and tear items like tires, belts and windshield wipers. Anytime you have any questions regarding your coverage, please do not hesitate to call us. we are here to help.
