So far so good - it was nice to browse the lot unattended. I am looking for a car my dog to ride in (she old and can’t get in the truck with me). I compared fold down seats a numerous models with no pressure. It has been extraordinary - helpful.

I had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. I got a great deal that I don't think I could have gotten anywhere else. The waiting process was a bit hectic but I expected that going into it. Things could be more organized but once I received assistance things went great. I would definitely recommend.

I contacted Bill about interest in a vehicle a week prior to arrival. Bill was informative and friendly. When I arrived to the dealership I was greeted with a great smile from Rebecca, and introduced to Bill. I quickly tested my first vehicle and within that first hour I was in-love with it and Bill was great in getting everything together so I could purchase the car! Although it can be overwhelming like at any dealership, my experience stepping into a non-traditional dealership was great. All the staff did a great job ensuring customers are satisfied with their experience. We were offered water multiple times and food. Their customer service is amazing. My phone was running low on battery and they were able to assist me. I am completely satisfied!

Right in the middle of opening up your new Orlando branch, we were greeted and helped by both a manager and by a salesperson Tony! As we viewed the wide variety of cars they have online, Tony pulled the exact car we fell in love with. Quickly we went on our test drive and loved it. All the employees here were friendly and very helpful. We were also pleased to get all the car fax reports. OVERALL a very positive experience!

I originally started off in the Orlando location (where I go to school). The experience was a bit rough but the Palm Beach location completely made up for everything. Ted was my sales person and did an excellent job. He was very friendly and got me what I needed. I found a new trade in that wasn't available but Ted worked with the managers to make it available for me. It is perfect! Thank you!

The prices here at Off Lease Only were great. All of the salesmen that we met were very nice. However, the wait was very long and it wasn't too fun. The signage was also very bad and I wasn't able to read multiple prices. Also the bathrooms weren't at all up to par and were very disgusting.

I had never been here before and the experience was definitely one of a kind, the sales staff especially. Michael was overly kind, extremely considerate, and very easy to work with. Fabulous pricing and service despite the crowds. Joe Cala took great care of us. We got a car with only 1,000 miles. It had been in an accident and the mechanic at pep boys inspected it. He said they probably replaced the door and airbag. The car is perfect in every way! It helps to get the car checked (pep boys is half a mile away) to see if any maintenance is needed. Thank you.

The staff at Off Lease Only truly went above and beyond to help us resolve all our initial issues/problems/complaints. They treated us like royalty in every detail of our experience. We were bracing ourselves for the worst and were shocked at how much they went out of their way for us. It was SO nice.
We would definitely recommend them with the caveat that you understand how their business runs. Many of their cars have been in some sort of accident--some of these are listed on the car fax, some on auto check, and some not at all. As long as you understand ahead of time that according to Fl it is not necessary to disclose any of this. Its your responsibility to look into it/take it to a mechanic and get it checked out prior to purchasing. If you keep this in mind when you buy you will be fine and potentially save thousands on your new used car.

I have two friends who bought cars from this place who had great experiences so I went into this optimistic and excited by the low prices for quality cars. Because of my friends' experiences I let down my guard and trusted that Off Lease was everything they claimed to be. Unfortunately, my family and I have had a nightmare of an experience so far. It began when my husband and I saw a car (ford fiesta hatchback) we wanted to buy (for a disabled relative) online. Since we live 3 hours away we checked that very morning before leaving on the website to make sure it was still available. We work during the week so we went down on a Saturday. When we got there, the car had been sold the night before and apparently they did not have time to update their site. Darn! We didn't hold this against them but blamed ourselves for not calling and asking them to hold it. We looked around but could not find a comparable car in our price range so we drove home. I continued to monitor the website to see if anything new popped up.
A few days later we found the same exact car for sale again. Same vin and everything. So we contacted them to figure out what was going on. They said that the financing fell through for the previous buyer so the car did not sell after all. That should have raised a red flag immediately. If the financing fell through then why would the car leave the lot and then magically come back? Wouldn't the person with bad credit immediately be denied. Anyhow, we were very excited to have the car we wanted but my husband and I were busy that weekend so we sent my mother and father down (along with the relative who the car is for) to retrieve the car. My husband cautioned my parents that they should have a mechanic look at the car just in case there was something wrong with it. My parents are older and a bit feeble and are also intimidated by the big city so that seemed like an overwhelming project for them. My mom refused saying it was more than she could handle. Eventually my husband and I relented on this point because Off Lease had a good reputation among my friends and after all the car had a clean car fax report and it was still under warranty. Anyhow, as they tell me the paperwork process was grueling.
We were paying cash for the car (our whole family was pooling in) but their policy is that you must still apply for financing until after the check clears so... after hours upon hours they finally were able to drive the car home. On the drive back they noticed the check engine light was on but assumed that since it was under warranty they could take it in to the dealership to get it fixed. As soon as we were able to (we all have jobs and obligations so it took a week) we took it to the local ford dealership. They that we would have take a rental car out while they look at it. We were fine with that because after all, it's under warranty! Eventually Ford looked at it and told us that the car had been in an accident and the frame was all bent up. The damage was so bad that they cannot even get clear readings to diagnose the car. They said that this would forever make the car very difficult to repair. Moreover, the car damage cannot be covered under warranty now so we also must pay for the rental car. Needless to say my whole family took the new very badly. We had invested SO much time and SO much money and SO many hours to get this car. Just when we finally have a car we realize we have a lemon.
We know Off Lease checks their cars out. Why didn't they tell us?! Why would they waste our time. Our sales rep was Robert from WPB and my mom did recall him telling her, as they were about to drive off, "By the way, you know those car fax reports are not always accurate." Looking back we now strongly suspect that the person who bought the car before us also returned it once they discovered it had been in an accident and that was why it disappeared from their inventory for a few days and then magically reappeared. We suspect but have no proof of that. But if it was the case then why would they resell it to us? It makes me more mad when I think of the fact that my senior citizen parents went down there with another disabled family member to get this car. I feel like they were totally take advantage of. Moreover, I feel like an idiot for trusting car salesmen. My husband and I are exhausted from dealing with this issue. Our biggest concern is that we know they have a 1000$ restocking fee and we simply cannot afford to throw 1000$ down the drain. Especially when we feel we have been so wronged.
My dad called them back and asked them what happens if the car has been in an accident and it is not reported in the car fax report. Whoever he spoke to told him that they check out all their cars and everything is guaranteed so this could never happen. Yet, it DID happen. We are going to return the car as soon as we can get down there. If we can exchange it for a comparable car that is not a lemon and are treated fairly I will consider adjusting this review but needless to say I am a bit jaded by how we have been treated so far.

What Robert said regarding the Carfax reports is true- Carfax is not 100% accurate as they post information from any one that wants to give it… another reason why I let my customers take their car of choice to a mechanic prior to purchase… and also why we offer extended warranties for additional peace of mind. The Ford dealer is incorrect in telling you that the frame was all bent up- that’s impossible as cars these days are made with unibody construction… so in the event of an accident they can fix or replace the damaged part. Long gone are the days of cars being built with huge metal frames… think of how difficult it is to straighten a bent fork in your kitchen drawer is- then think of a car. So that’s why cars are constructed differently these days. My wife and I started this company 20 years ago with our life savings and have grown this dealership into the largest volume independent in the Country. This has happened for two reasons- caring about every customers happiness and selling cars for thousands below any other dealer. We spoke with the out of state sales manager again and he has assured us that the situation that occurred is not how they normally conduct business. The sales person that we dealt with has been let go for various reasons and although I feel slightly bad that he was fired, I am glad that someone else will not have to go through the scenario that I did because of his carelessness. It does seem that the sales manager is going out of his way to fix the problem, so far as telling me they would take the car back with no problems. I'm glad they're able to help me out because this has been an extremely stressful experience.

I live in Maryland and had been researching cars at Offlease.com before flying down there to make a purchase. I had to take off 2 days of work, and spend roughly $500 for flight, hotel and rental car for me and 2 of my friends to go down there. I thought it would be a simple process since they are one of the biggest dealers in the country. However, this is probably by far the most disorganized, confusing and worst car buying experience I have EVER had!
When we entered the showroom/lobby/office area we were surprised by the amount of chaos and disorganization everywhere. We had to walk around aimlessly for almost 5 minutes trying to figure out what was going on. Not one employee stopped to ask if we needed assistance, we had to ask 2 different people where we could find Out of State sales and Jacob **. Also if they are as big and great as they claim to be, then they can afford to build a bigger better and not so moldy/musty smelling building to conduct business in.
We ended up having to wait for almost 15 minutes for Jacob to find a golf cart to drive us around the lot to look at the cars. Jacob took us to the section of the lot where the Ford Fusions were located, as I had told him this was my first choice. He unlocked the vehicle and that was about it, he never bothered to go through and explain even one of the features of the car. Shortly after I mention that my second choice was a Hyundai Sonata, so he walked us over to where they were. Although he mentioned a couple of features between the different models available, he spent very little time with us quickly taking the golf cart to go back inside, leaving us alone out on the lot for almost 35 minutes in the 106 heat.
After tracking down and waiting more than 10 minutes to speak with him, I informed Jacob that I had decided to test drive the Ford Fusion. We ended up waiting almost 30 minutes for him to locate a license plate that could be placed on the vehicle for the drive. He then had me sign some version of a release form for the test drive, without clarifying exactly what I was signing, except to say that if you break it, you buy it and never gave me a copy of this either.
After the test drive I decided to purchase the car, which is when things became even more chaotic and disorganized. I asked for an estimated guess for about how much I would be paying for the car and what my APR would be, but was told by both Jacob and Steve that the specifics of the sales transaction, such as what my APR would be and the total amount to be financed, would be provided to me after I handed over the down payment and proof of insurance. When we spoke to Jacob on the phone before we came to Miami, he assured us that I would not have an APR higher than 17%. After my friend explained this twice to Steve he finally relented and told me I was safe with that number. Not what the actual number would be specifically, which he knew because I had already been approved for financing, but just that I was in the same ballpark. It was like pulling teeth just to get some basic information that they already knew.
While we were talking to Steve my friend asked him about a couple of cars that were slightly less expensive in an area of the lot that we hadn't been to since my friend had become sunburned and was on the verge of a heatstroke because of the heat outside. Steve explained to him that the cars in that area were no longer for sale but already sold and were being prepped for the buyers. Yet when he looked on their own website my friend found 22 of those cars still available for sale. Obviously some sort of tactic to either woo in potential customers from online or to get you to buy the more expensive one if they feel like they can gauge you for it.
While looking over the Carfax history report, my friend noticed the car had been in a previous accident. However, Jacob led us to believe that it was a minor accident and nothing serious. What he failed to mention was that it was actually a serious enough accident that there is visible structural damage to the vehicle (I took it to a Ford dealer who showed it to me), which is not listed on the Carfax history report. The hold day took forever to get things done. The entire process from start to finish (arriving at the dealership, through driving away with the car) was like a turtle walking through molasses, yet I was definitely rushed through the signing of the paperwork portion at the end of the night. My friends and I ended up spending just over 7 hours at the dealership, with not much to show for it at this point except a car that obviously isn't safe for me and my 2 young children to be in.
Although a friendly, funny and semi helpful guy, ** the business manager that we dealt with did not fully explain all of the pricing of the vehicle, i.e., their price of the car is only $15,999; the amount financed was $16,812; total of payments was $23,936; and the total sale price including down payment was $29,136. I understood none of these payments or how the totals came to be, nor were they EVER explained to me.
Please explain to me how, if I give you $5,200 as a down payment for a $15,999 car, you tell me that I will be financing $16,812 and then I end up having to pay almost $30,000 for a car that was in a serious enough accident to cause structural damage and only cost $27,700 when it was brand new? I believe that because they knew I was there for a limited time they pressured me into buying this car, because I definitely felt backed in a corner. I did notice throughout my time there that everyone else seemed to be having very similar problems as well, so it seems that they designed it to be that way.
Just some of the problems that I noticed, and my local Ford dealership found with the 2013 Ford Fusion SE that I bought include but is not limited to:
Front grill not attached properly, visibly loose in Offlease photosFront right (passenger side) fog lamp housing cover not properly attached
Front right (passenger side) headlight not completely secured to vehicle
Driver door frame has several dents from the previous accident visible
Driver's side rear passenger door has a visible dent on the mid-beam part of the body/frame between the 2 doors
The molding on the bottom of the car under both of the driver's side doors is clearly loose and not properly secured
There are dents on the body/frame behind the molding on the driver's side door
The bottom molding was damaged in the previous accident and replaced, however the rubber weather stripping was not replaced and air/wind noise can be clearly heard inside the passenger compartment
Driver's door was not properly aligned when it was repaired after the accident and is visibly out of place
Drivers side rear passenger door is clearly misaligned, and opens in a downward slope
A plastic piece of the outer driver's door/window is coming off
Driver door controls not working/working intermittently
The vehicle sustained weather/water damage from Copar Auto Auction at their Central Florida location clearly visible in their own documented photos
The ford symbol/icon is missing from the rear wheel on the driver’s side, it was however there during the time Offlease had possession of the car as documented by their own photos
The antenna located on the roof toward the rear is broken and or loose, however according to Offlease’s own photos it was previously ok during their possession
A small part that fits behind the door handle on the driver’s door is missing, however according to their own photos it was there before we even looked at it
Right side Rear passenger door speaker not working
Letters U and I missing from the Fusion name plate on trunk lid of the car, when in fact they are clearly visible in the photos taken by Offlease
Front drivers side fender completely redone in body plastic
Driver door completely redone in body plastic
Rear bumper slightly misaligned and not properly attached
In the beginning of this ordeal Jacob told us that ALL of the vehicles sold by Offlease are inspected thoroughly before being offered for sale. If however this was the case, then legally speaking according to Florida Statute 501 PART VI - UNFAIR OR DECEPTIVE ACTS OR PRACTICES; VEHICLES (501.975, 501.976), Offlease willingly broke Florida law. The Ford body shop technician was able to point out the structural damage to me without removing any exterior pieces, or putting it up on a lift so any good technician or mechanic doing even just a general safety of the vehicle would notice this.
I definitely feel it was dishonest and extremely misleading of Jacob to tell me that I could return the vehicle for whatever reason within 30 days knowing full well that I would be driving the car back to where I live in Maryland, thereby voiding the return policy’s 1000 mile limit (which as far as I have seen is only available on their website in small print).
Also when looking up the vehicle/title online I was confused to find out that there was a lien on the car. So I called the Florida DMV to confirm what I had found. It turned out that I had not been mistaken and that there was in fact a lien still on the vehicle. The lien was from when it was originally purchased and it still had not been removed, so essentially according to the state of Florida Offlease just sold me a car that they were not legally allowed to sell.
I have contacted them twice and was shuffled around when I asked to speak to someone. I finally got in touch with ** who I did all the paperwork with and after spending a few minutes explaining everything he actually used the phrase “we’re not liable because you signed a piece of paper.” Seriously!!! Are you ** kidding me?!?! Your salesman deliberately omitted the fact that the vehicle had structural damage. You guys do inspections on all your cars? Any good mechanic or car tech would easily be able to see the damage. Anyway during our conversation ** put me on speaker phone to let other people hear what I was saying, and I know this because I could clearly hear them.
** informed me that he couldn't do anything since I wanted to return it, because he doesn't deal with that he just does the paperwork, but that he would have ** (Out of State Sales Manager) get in touch with me in a few minutes that was several hours ago. You would think that a customer calls and mentions that the vehicle you just sold them a few days ago has unreported and illegally undisclosed structural damage, that they might oh I dunno make it a bit of a priority for safety reasons to fix the problem ASAP. Apparently not.... So 5 hours later and ** finally calls me back only to basically tell me the same thing that ** told me “we did our due diligence in telling you about the car, anyway you signed the paper so we're not liable.”
That’s ok, you guys can conduct all the shady business you want, you already have 53 consumer complaints against you since January with the Florida Department of Consumer Services, and I’ll be adding one more in a few minutes. I’ll also be filing a complaint against you with the Florida Attorney General’s Office for violating Florida Statute 501 - Consumer Protection - PART VI - UNFAIR OR DECEPTIVE ACTS OR PRACTICES; VEHICLES (501.975, 501.976), also with The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Inspectors Office, as well as the Better Business Bureau. We went to Off Lease Only and while looking through the car selections we fell in love with a BMW 5 series that we saw online. Our salesperson, Danny said that the car was sold. We ended up purchasing another vehicle because we are in need of one but the next day I saw the same BMW that we originally wanted still listed. We spoke to several different people who said that the car was available for sale but Danny consistently blocked us from seeing the car and in the process told the other sellers to not show it to us. The salesperson Danny is a liar and if you go to Off Lease make sure you request to not get Danny. I am very disappointed that we did not get out first choice because of shady selling practices. Robert, the finance manager was the only person there that I would deal with again.

Although you may be getting a good deal in buying a used car, the buying practices for trade in is insulting to say the least. They offer me $2k on a 2006 MB, which I drove to Carmax and got $6k. Worst thing was listening to Sales Mgr (Jim) trying to justify the offer, I felt I had a "dumber" sign over my head or something. With the fact that I was buying a high end car for $50k and was treated like that was absolutely ridiculous. But I am sure there is people that fall for that, as I saw other offers for trade in at the same rate being given to other customers on the floor. I told Jim straight up that I would rather hear that they do not buy trade ins than to be extended such a ridiculous offer, which ticked me off so badly I almost gave up buying the $50k car out of pure principle. Finally I buy the $50k car, and did my trade in at Carmax, where I was treated with much greater respect.
However, 1 week later after I purchase the car, I get the warranty policy on the mail, and it was done incorrectly as the agent at Off Lease Only book the policy as a NEW car (something that they even sell it) and the warranty policy was written to end of 50k miles, which is the same of the manufacturer warranty that automatically comes with the car. Not sure how they could possibly make such a mistake, but I guess they must have seen the same sign on top of my head that Jim saw (the trade in guy). So now I call them to correct the warranty mistake, and much different than the prompt attention you get when buying a car, I landed on a voice mail and god knows if anyone will address it any time soon. I will keep my fingers crossed, and my lawyer's phone number on speed dial.

I am the owner and was upset to hear what happened to you. I am not sure how Jim would have appraised your vehicle as he is just a floor manager and does not appraise cars? Did you tell anyone you had an offer from CarMax? We can usually always match their offer and always pay fair market value for all trades. I do apologize for the stress, but I am glad that you got what you wanted for it. I am also happy you did not buy from them as they charge full retail for the same cars that we sell for thousands less. I will make sure my finance director contacts you to correct the error on your warranty asap. I started this company with 2 cars and we are now the largest independent used car dealer in the country. This has happened for two reasons- caring about each and every customer and selling cars for thousands less than every other dealer.
