What is Empire Auto Protect?

Empire Auto Protect provides vehicle service plans (VSPs), often called extended auto warranties, that help cover the cost of unexpected auto repairs after your factory warranty expires. These plans are contracts between you and Empire Auto Protect that outline which vehicle components and systems are covered. Vehicle service plans are not insurance and typically exclude routine maintenance and normal wear and tear.

Empire Auto Protect accepts vehicles of any age as long as they are in good working condition at the time of enrollment. Coverage options can be customized based on your budget and protection needs, with flexible payment options available. Plans are offered nationwide, making it easy to use coverage whether you visit a local repair shop or a dealership.

How does Empire Auto Protect work?

Empire Auto Protect quotes are available online or by phone with a representative. To receive a quote, you need to provide the year, make and model of your vehicle as well as its mileage and your contact information.

After requesting a quote, you see pricing based on your vehicle's information. Three plans are available: Silver, Supreme and Titanium. Add-on coverage is offered for rim and tire protection at an additional cost.

Once you’ve selected your vehicle service plan, there is a 30-day waiting period for coverage to take effect. During this time, you can receive your money back if you cancel. After the plan takes effect, you're covered for components, roadside assistance, parts and labor under the chosen contract.

According to Empire Auto Protect, its plans are accepted at all dealerships and repair shops nationwide. You may be responsible for a deductible based on your protection plan. Claims are made after a dealership or repair shop runs diagnostics and contacts Empire Auto Protect.

Empire Auto Protect plans

Empire Auto Protect offers three vehicle service plan tiers, Silver, Supreme and Platinum. Empire also offers an EV Platinum coverage plan for Teslas and all EV vehicles.

Rim and tire protection is offered at an additional $49 a month. This includes coverage for damage from nails, potholes and other specified hazards.

Coverage exclusions

The most common coverage exclusions are:

  • Pre-existing problems or issues that started before your coverage began
  • Wear-and-tear items like brake pads, tires, and wiper blades
  • Routine maintenance like oil changes and fluid checks
  • Damage from neglect, poor maintenance, or aftermarket parts
  • Non-mechanical or cosmetic items like upholstery, paint, and glass

Knowing what is excluded before you sign up can help you avoid surprises.

Empire Auto Protect cost

Empire Auto Protect plan prices start at $89.99 per month, with flexible payment terms and a price-match guarantee. Pricing varies based on your vehicle's age, mileage and coverage chosen; you can get a free, instant online quote.

Additionally, you may be responsible for a deductible. However, deductible-free plans are available. In addition to the VSP price, add-on coverage for tires and rims is available for $49 a month. All contracts include 24/7 roadside assistance, parts, components and labor costs.

Deceptive tactics, Empire does not administer claims, which is done through third-party. It's extremely difficult to get anyone to answer a call or provide actual responses. I filed a claim that was denied because it wasn't covered, but by their sales pitch, it should have been.

I purchased the policy from Empire Auto Protect for my two thousand twelve GMC Acadia. I was told a hundred and eight dollars gave me full protection, and I would not have to pay for anything when my car went into the shop. I call back later and spoke with someone who told me I would have to pay the first 60% and the company would pay 40%. So I told them I wanted to cancel, and I was told I cannot cancel without having a bill of sale for my new vehicle and had to talk to a customer service supervisor which I was never sent to no one ever talked to me and all they did was hang up on me. I told them to cancel my policy. I sold my car. I do not have it anymore. And they continued to take money from my account. This company is really bad. I plan to report them to the \n Business bureau.

On May 29th at approximately 4:52 PM, I called 1 (888) 345-0084 regarding unauthorized monthly charges being deducted from my account. I explained that I had already paid $3,500 for warranty coverage and wanted to know why additional monthly payments were still being withdrawn without my authorization. I was told I was getting transferred from my Mercedes to my dodge. Come to find out it’s not the same company my vehicle was warranty lied with. They lied and enrolled me into a policy and refuse to refund me. They told me 99 was a transfer free and then sent a letter 157 is being deducted from my account. When I called back, they said, "Oh don’t worry. We transferred the Mercedes to your Dodge warranty coverage. We’re just waiting to update it." Nothing should Again, they went ahead and stole money from my account.

During the call, I was repeatedly told that I was being transferred to another department. After several transfers, another representative answered. I requested to speak with a manager and was informed that no manager would be available until Monday. His speech was slurred and erratic, and it sounded like he was on drugs.

At that point, I told my husband, “Wow, we’re getting scammed.” The representative then mockingly repeated, “Wow, we’re getting scammed,” and proceeded to use vulgar and inappropriate language toward both my husband and me. He became verbally aggressive, called me offensive names, and continued cursing at us over the phone.

The representative then read our home address aloud and threatened to come to our home, stating that he lived nearby on the a road near by our house and would “handle this” when he got out of work. This behavior was extremely alarming and completely unacceptable. We immediately contacted the police and filed a report regarding the threats and harassment. The police report number is **.

We have four children, and the entire conversation occurred on speakerphone. Our children overheard the threats and are now fearful for their safety. I am deeply concerned that a company representative would behave in such an abusive, threatening, and unprofessional manner toward customers. I would like this matter investigated immediately, including a review of the recorded phone call, and I expect prompt action regarding both the unauthorized charges and the threatening conduct of your employee.

Spoke to a manager by the name of Richard. He said he was looking into it. We’re praying to god this individual was fired. As this is a extreme safety concern, and also the other issues was looking into why money was stolen from us, etc. we’re also filing a police report for fraud as I addressed this to the manager, but he didn’t say anything about refunding us. He just needed it. Can we afford a policy? Is that no because we were told that it was transferred and lied to etc. Why would I ask for a policy when I pay 3500 dollars. Anyways Select Auto Protect told me that they continue to have this happen to their customers from Empire auto protect where they scam them. And customers call crying from what the unethical sales unethical does.

They are a unethical company! Do not trust them. I purchased an extended auto warranty and was told on the phone that I would be receiving their elite top coverage and when the vehicle service agreement arrived in the mail, it was their basic package. But they already had my credit card billed, and when I told Eric Nics to cancel my policy, he became argumentative and lied again by not canceling my policy. They continued billing my cc for 5 months, and I had to call and block their payments from going through, and filed a claim for reimbursement. They are not to be trusted. BEWARE!

Absolutely terrible company. I got a different price two or three different times - when I said it wasn't making sense, I was told it was because there were "taxes" on the price. Not only were the "taxes" an unusually high amount, I then found out there is no sales tax in Delaware. This place should not be in business at all operating with tactics like that. Still waiting for them to confirm cancellation and refund my enrollment fee. I've also given written notice to them and the warranty provider that they are not authorized to charge my credit card for any payments. The "risk manager" they switched me to in order to jack up my quote was also very rude.

PLEASE think twice before agreeing to this company! The process was extremely easy and, yes they were friendly, BUT there are a few hidden things that come back to bite you! Their 3rd party does nothing to help you out and are very rude. Secondly, you’re left to pay things that they (the 3rd party company) feel shouldn’t be covered when in all reality, it should be ESPECIALLY when that’s the warranty you signed up for, and now they aren’t doing anything to fix the mistake. I would just use extreme caution before signing up.

Signed up back in January of 2026 for my Jeep Wrangler. Kept having issues with the jeep ended up trading it in. I called later to cancel my membership and due to a mishap on my side, I did not follow up until a month later. I was going over my bank statement and saw that I had another charge from this company and called again, speaking with a Rep named Brian. He told me that he would not be refunding my account. I requested to talk to a manager and he told me that managers only speak with customers and was rude. He then hung up on me. I called back and spoke with Shawn who stated he was in the capacity of a manger. Shawn went over my account and explained how my request was outside of the deadline, which I completely understand. It's a loss at this point, but the rudest customer service rep was Brian. He should not be working with customers.

So. When I purchased my contract I specifically asked if my hybrid truck battery would be covered, the salesman said yes multiple times. Well when I purchased the contract they sent a sample contract showing what mine would look like. Obviously it was missing my name on the paperwork. Well I called them back a couple of days later and spoke to someone on the phone who said yes multiple times that my hybrid battery would be covered. A few weeks go by and I once again call and ask if my hybrid battery is covered and once again the company said yes. I have both conversations recorded.

This company lies and provides false information to buyers. I’ve had my contract for almost a whole year and they’re trying to say I’m at fault for not reading the contract. Um hello…. Once I realized the contract didn’t have the hybrid battery listed, I called them and they reassured me that it was covered. Absolutely horrible company. They should be sued and shut down!!! They are stealing money from citizens!!

TERRIBLE HORRIBLE RUDE OBSCENE PEOPLE THAT WORK HERE. Not only would they not let me cancel my policy the first day I got it, but they also told me to call my credit card and stop payment. I called at least 4 times to make sure it was cancelled and I was ridiculed and laughed at. I reported them to their own billing company as well. I have continued to get texts from them, even though i say no and block them. Last Tuesday I called and asked them to stop! They hung up on me twice, pretended "stupid" and when I ask for a supervisor, he told me to "KNEEL DOWN ON THE GROUND"... REPEATED IT..."Kneel down on the ground and lick your phone". I HUNG UP. I tried to call back and report him to management, but my phone was blocked. Then they were closed. TERRIBLE. Awful company. Nothing I was originally told when I signed up was true. They lie.
