This is not a truthful and honorable company. I purchased a plan for my Land Rover and what was discussed with the sales agent Matthew was NOT the plan he signed me up for. When I called back to discuss the issue they offered an upgraded plan for more money. I canceled the plan and requested a refund which I have yet to receive. I have been calling since July attempting to get my refund which they guarantee and they have done nothing but give me the run around. Not an honest company or employees.

**WARNING** If you are considering this company for an auto warranty, I would advise you to read ALL of the reviews as there is a common theme showing unethical and borderline fraudulent practices of Empire Auto Protect and their CEO Michael Kassin. I did not read these reviews and wish I had, don’t be me. I took my car in for service, this Dodge dealership has serviced my vehicle since new, never even missing an oil change. The dealer contacted (required 3 calls and 1 hour 20 minutes to get through) Empire Auto Protect as it was determined I needed a starter, EAP would not allow them to place a new part on the car and insisted they would only approve USED parts and that they would only pay half of the hourly labor rate.

The dealer called me to inform me, that they removed EAP from their list of approved warranty companies and would not work with them. So at this point I have no need for their warranty, so I called to cancel. After numerous calls and transfers after day two, I was able to reach the person in charge Zack who said he is the Regional Manager and is the only person in the cancellation department and was out the day prior, attending a wedding. When he learned of my request to cancel he became very argumentative and would not allow me to speak, when I asked to speak to his supervisor, he then shared that he was the only one I can speak to and that I now “burned my bridge” and will not be getting a refund and hung up? A refund in which I am entitled to less than the 4 months prorated as I paid in full.

I have attempted to call back without any success. I have emailed using their contact page also with no response. So, I started to do the research on this company and quickly found a lot of complaints on multiple review sites that were similar to my experience. I wish I did the homework on the frontside, definitely a learning lesson. What a terrible company. If you are considering this company, please do the research!

I bought my warranty 2 years ago cash. Still have 2 years left on the policy. I never had to use it until now. The dealership put a claim in 2 weeks ago and they keep telling me a third party contractor have to go out and inspect the car and it will take 24 to 48 hours. Well it's been almost 2 weeks and no one has been out. I called several times and my so called rep told me to stop calling him. He told me the price of my repairs are really high they shouldn't cost this much, I advised him I drive a Maserati not a ford. So he began to tell me I call too much and to stop calling him.

He told me to be patient. They will get there when they get there, I told him I have been patient for almost 2 weeks. Something that should have taken 24 to 48 hours. His advise to me is to cancel my policy and even though I never used it I had it for 2 years I will get no money back. I also have a policy on my wife's car that I bought and never had to use. I know I will get the same treatment if I have an issue with her car. I don't think he ever intends to finish my claim because he continues to tell me to just cancel the policy and they will be done with me because I feel they are not going to fix my car.

    Reviewed July 29, 2025

COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL! OK, there are companies that are Crappy and then there are companies that are complete Crap. Empire Auto Warranty is the latter. I purchased a policy on July 3rd 2025 and was charged $298.00. I was told I would receive a copy of the actual contract within 7 to 10 business days. I was also told if I did not like the policy I could request a full refund within the first 30 days. Side Note - Having the right to a full refund within the first 30 days isn't an Empire thing. It is the law no matter what warranty company you are dealing with. You are entitled to a FULL 100% Refund within the first 30 days.

20 Days later I received a copy of the contract and the coverage went from the Elite Plan to their Essentials Plan. The Elite being their highest level of coverage and their Essentials Plan being their lowest level of coverage. To add insult to injury the rate for the coverage went up as well. I was told that the Elite Plan would cover pretty much everything the original manufacturer's warranty covered with the exception of standard maintenance items like brake pads, tires, etc. I was told that the Elite Plan was going to cost me $149.00 per month for 2 years and I would receive an additional 2 years of coverage for free. Pretty good deal right? However, when I received the plan 10 days later then promised I was given the Essentials Plan that pretty much only covers the Engine and the Transmission. That plan was going to cost me $177.09 per month for 2 years. Classic bait and switch.

Upon receiving the contract I called into Empire Auto Protect and was told that the change to that plan was due to the company that actually underwrites the warranty. I asked to speak with a manager and after a brief hold I was connected to ** who was a complete jerk. ** started to get loud with me and said things like, "I will cancel the policy right now," etc. I didn't want to cancel before having another policy so I told him not to cancel the policy and I would call back. Throughout the next week received a handful of calls from Empire Auto Protect. 2 were to see if I wanted to purchase the policy and another call returning a call I never made to them.

After an exhaustive search I found out the AAA actually sells Auto Warranties. Because my wife and I already have their roadside assistance with them and have used used them in the past I felt totally comfortable signing up for their auto warranty. I received their highest level of coverage "Platinum" with no obligation for $167.63 per month. As mentioned I can cancel at any time by giving 48 hours' notice. I was also able to download and review a copy of their contract and was able to sign myself up for the coverage via their website.

OK - So now that I had coverage I called Empire Auto Protect to cancel my policy with them. I call and requested to speak with a manager and was transferred to **. I explained to ** what had happened and told him I was canceling the policy and I would expect a full refund to avoid any back and forth. I mentioned to ** that by law they needed to refund 100% of my money or I would call American Express and claw the money back from them anyway. I then asked ** to confirm the amount I would refunded and I was told that I would be refunded the full $298.00. Before I could thank ** and wrap up the call ** decided he wanted to become a telephone tough guy with me.

** said "You don't have to threaten me and if you want to threaten me why don't you come to his office in Freehold off of Wyckoff Rd. He didn't give me the full address but OK. At this point I told ** that he had my home address in Point Pleasant Beach NJ and anytime he wanted he was more than welcome to stop by and see how that would work out for him. I also mentioned he could simply call me from the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk, The Boat Yard or any other place he would like in the beach and that I would be more than happy to meet up with him. The actual address is - 145 Wyckoff Rd Ste 105, Eatontown, NJ 07724. If anyone is interested.

I don't write reviews. I find them suggestive at best but I just need to let folks know what type of company Empire Auto Protect is. They are a joke. To allow their employees to speak to people like that is inconceivable. By simply mentioning I would expect a full refund and that they were obligated by law to do so and if they didn't I would contact American Express and they would make it right anyway ** went to "If you want to threaten me." All I can say is. ** you have a lot to learn when it comes to how you carry yourself and how you conduct when it comes to business. Empire Auto Protect - If that was my employee ** would be looking for another job. Thank you for the bait and switch by the way. That is also against the law.

A few minutes after writing this review I received a phone call from the 27 year old CFO of Empire asking me to take my review down. He didn't care about his employee's behavior at all. When I told him that I would not take down my review he started to get loud and started to threaten me with auto dial bots. REALLY! So this company is that good that they need to go out of their way to call and threaten me. Hey Empire, the Point Pleasant Beach have been called already. The next call will be to the Freehold police and my lawyer. Stay away from this company. They are a joke just like their employees.

One of the worst warranty companies, because they don't like to honor their claims. Would not recommend anyone to use this company Empire Auto Protect. They told me that I could take my vehicle to any license repair shop. I chose to take my vehicle to my wife's Automotive repair shop and I'm the owner of the vehicle not the shop. They told me they cannot pay the repair facility who happens to be the customer. Also would not accept handwriting maintained records. Contract said I can take my vehicle to ANY repair facility. The one I chose is my wife's automotive repair shop. Submitted work order for proof of maintenance which is handwriting. They said they will not accept handwriting receipts but a work order is not a receipt.

I purchased this warranty company because their log said it's a worry fee warranty company which is a total lie. I've dealt with many warranty companies over the past 30 years and this is the one that have denied a claim that I think is for no reason. A work order, also called a repair order, is a comprehensive document containing all the details of the repair. It serves as a legal contact between the customer and the shop. A receipt is a document that confirm the receipt of payment method used. A work order may be as a basis for generating a payment, but is not the thing as a receipt.

Honestly, who does that? Let me explain who scammer that all they are trying to do is steal your money. I didn't even use their services once, so this should tell you that these people are desperate for your money! So just be careful. Lastly, they called me and asked me to delete this review, and they will refund my down payment, not the second payment they took for this month. So I did. I’m then told by some person that WA has a law that requires someone to be locked in for 4 months, which is not true. There is no law in WA that requires this, then when I brought this up, they refused to cancel. I even read the law in WA that a client is allowed to receive a refund within 30 days of purchase, yet I’m told “I’m only hurting myself”. Not okay. Absolute horrible, horrible company. Empire Auto Protect, is misleading, sneaky, gaslighting, and a ghost service provider. I purchased a two year warranty for $105 a month on November 13, 2004. I was told by the salesman on the phone, "That I will have to wait after 30 days to file a claim, I have bumper to bumper warranty, and all I needed to pay was a $100 deductible. Also, they will get me a rental car if needed." That was ALL that was said to me over the phone on that day. I went ahead over the phone with the salesman and purchased the warranty.

On January 28, 2025, I took my car to the Chrysler dealership to get a diagnostic. I told the dealership that I have Empire Auto Protect, and I left my car at the dealership overnight. On January 29, 2025, I got a call from the dealership, and I was told, "Empire Auto Protect declined my claim because I didn't meet the 1,000 mile threshold." I told the dealership I will call Empire Auto Protect because the salesman did not tell me anything about 1,000 mile qualification, only after 30 days, I was told over the phone when I signed up.

I called the administration first because they handled the final claim, they said I only drove 464 miles and I didn't meet the 1,000-mile qualification. I told the lady the salesman never mentioned that qualification to me. She said it's in my contract, and I never received the contract in the mail. They told me to call Empire. I told a salesman I never received anything that stated the 1,000-mile qualification. He told me, "it was mailed and also emailed to me."

I backed track ony email, and I received two emails on November 13th from Empire, BUT, that was the welcoming email that I received, and it stated NOTHING about the qualifications. The second email I received was on November 19th from Mepco, which is the company that Empire Auto Protect uses to automatically withdraw the payment from my debit card.

I'm handicapped with a disease in my spine and I need my car to get back and forth to my doctor appointments. I asked if anything could be done, and that they can call the dealership to verify my condition, I was denied by the salesman at Empire Auto Protect on the phone. I wouldn't have taken my car to the dealership service department, because why would I pay $265 for a diagnostic if I knew I didn't meet a qualification, that doesn't make sense to just pay out $265!

Then after I said that to Empire Auto Protect salesman, he said, "I'm going to email you the contract again." 3-5 minutes after he said that, I didn't receive an email. He was still on the phone and I told him, and he stated, "I sent it to the email on file." Which is correct, it is my email, but I didn't receive it. He stated, "Well, it might have gone to my spam folder." I checked my spam folder, and I see both emails. I told him, "this doesn't make sense, why I received the greeting email after signing up straight to my inbox, but this warranty contract, from the SAME email domain name, went to my spam folder?" He stated, "well that's on your email." I asked him, nothing can be done, so I paid $105 for 3 months, November, December, and January before I even tried to use the warranty, and I can't get assisted? He replied, "Nothing we can do." Then he went on talking about the great package deal I signed up for.

So let me get this straight, I purchased a two year warranty, I paid three months on it before I attempted to use it. I wasn't told over the phone by the salesman on November 13, 2024 about the 1,000-mile qualification, I was only told after the 30 days to use it, so I was way over 30 days, (76 days to be exact). Then I never received anything in my mailbox, then when the contract was emailed to me, it went to my SPAM FOLDER, but the welcoming letter from the SAME DOMAIN went to my email INBOX... That is called the Red Herring Tactic, and it was pulled on me by Empire Auto Protect. I don't recommend Empire Auto Protect at all! I thought it was different from a previous company I used four years ago, but Empire Auto Protect are really good magicians. If you use them, make sure you draw up a confirmation contract with what you were told, and make them sign it. Protect yourself.

After expressing the issues I'm facing and how would it apply to the warranty on the future and of course he was assuring, helpful and even said I was a perfect fit for the policy for being upfront about my issues and even thanked for my honesty. After I denied the first FEW attempts to close the deal with a 99$ payment he then offered me a customer discount of 49$ for first payment which I was really considering. However I let him know I would give a call back and even pay the 99$ if need to just do I'm not jumping right in on the contract. After I stated that he then began to threaten to have me blacklisted from all auto warranty companies claiming fraud on my behalf stating I tried to protect a car with issues not being disclosed.

However how could that be the case if:
    * I made him aware of the issue and my concerns.
    * In He stated after 90 days it's no longer a previous issue. Hmmm.
    * I wasn't denied the policy.
    * I had the deciding factor.

    * Same issue he called fraud when denied were the same issues used for his selling points to secure my doubts.

With that being said to now have been blacklisted because some salesman who was eagerly desperate to close the sale under his behalf in fear of losing the sale when I let him know I would think it over and call him back. His upbeat hey guys I'm here to help ya attitude turned into me being a fraud and will be blacklisted. If I'm truly blacklisted from ALL warranty companies as he claims. I would be blacklisted due to a fraudulent salesman who must not get told no very often. I apologize to the company for this rating but you have a desperate representative out here trying to bully their way in sales. Crazy!!! They contacted Empire but we're immediately transferred to a company called HeadStart Warranty which is the claim adjusters for Empire. We were given the runaround for 13 days. Finally they agreed to pay $1,800 out of a possible $3,500. They would only authorize parts that you would buy on the internet and not BMW factory parts. When I called Empire to discuss this, they told me that they are only the broker and they are not responsible and blamed Headstart.

When I called Headstart they said they are only the claim adjusters and that I was obviously misled when I purchased the contract through Empire. Today I called to cancel the policy and Empire explained to me that if I cancel they will charge me the $1,800 that they just paid. They explained that the only way I won't be responsible for that $1,800 is if I continue to pay for the policy for the next 22 months at the rate of $155 per month. They told me I cannot cancel unless I repay the claim they just partially covered. I have never heard of doing business like this in my life. This made me suspicious. This initial email was supposed to contain an onboarding packet/explanation of coverage, but did not. I attempted to email the (likely fake) email address in the email and never got a response.

After reading terrible reviews on the BBB and several other sources, everything in the reviews was lining right up. I had originally spoken with an alleged "Eric" who's caller ID actually showed as "Murad **". After taking payment, "Eric" was MIA and unable to be reached. I was told to call back in an hour. I did, then was told by Customer Service that management was going to reach out to me.

Of course, nobody reached out. What I ended up doing was going to my bank and stopping payment and disputing based on being unable to make contact with Empire and cancel for refund, which they had stated was a no questions part of the deal for the first 30 days. The next day, for peace of mind, I called Empire to make sure they would cancel my policy. Immediately upon answering, I was greeted by a very rude and overly patronizing person on the other end of the line. The tone was extremely unprofessional and they did confirm that I had been cancelled already because I disputed. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. 6. If you attempt to cancel, they yell, use profanity and threaten to put a lien on your vehicle (if you cancel with your bank). Come on... This is a VOLUNTARY service plan. You can't put liens on vehicles for owners who don't want this voluntary coverage. ESPECIALLY those who have NEVER filed a claim. Pathetic tactics.

    7. The licenses they use don't match their company name. Instead, they are for individuals licensed insurance agent license numbers... not one (1) for the business name.

Don't just trust me. Visit your state department of insurance website to verify. In California, we can go online to ca.gov and research licenses for just about EVERYTHING. Empire Auto Protect does NOT have a license. Instead, they use a license for an individual by the name of Robin **. The license is for an individual person, NOT a company/corporation or business owner. Don't trust them. Do your research!

Absolutely awful. 80% a scam. They tell you it's all going to be covered when you sign up. Then a year later your water pump (or any other part) fails and then... they show their true colors. Though the failure is clearly covered under the warranty. They tell you they will only authorize half the repair (you pay the other $1100), will only let you replace with a low end Chinese part (not oem as it should be), and also are unwilling to pay the shop's going rate. That's just the tip of the iceberg. They'll do this with any repair. And the more the repair costs, the shadier they will behave. Criminal is what they are. It's looking like this is going the path of a class action lawsuit. This is coming from a former warranty adjuster and current quality specialist at a major OEM. Please do not do business with this organization, you will regret it.

Never can get manager on phone, never received a call back unless there was a billing issue, never received an itemized coverage plan which I asked for numerous times. When it came down to filing a claim it was not what I signed up for nor what I was told over the phone when they were selling me a 100.00 piece of paper every month that looks like a kid photo shopped... in the great state of NJ a verbal agreement is lawful and binding. They broke their verbal agreement with me... I called and tried to get a refund and they said "WE ARE NOT GIVING YOU ANY REFUND UNTIL I TAKE DOWN MY REVIEW" WOW!

I asked if anything I wrote was untruthful or invalid and they just hung up on me so I filed a BBB claim and put a dispute in for every single transaction they SCAMMED from my credit card... my vehicle is over 30yrs old but have under 100,000 miles on the odometer and I thought I was doing the right thing by getting coverage on my motor! Customer Service: Unprofessional and Disrespectful. My interaction with their agent, Stan **, was deeply disappointing. The level of disrespect and unprofessionalism I encountered was shocking. Customer concerns were dismissed with condescending remarks, suggesting a toxic company culture that doesn't value its clients.

Questionable Financial Practices: More alarmingly, Empire Auto Protect appears to have a practice of disregarding written cancellation requests. Despite my clear instructions to cancel a service, they intended to withdraw funds from my account regardless. This raises serious questions about their ethical standards and respect for customer wishes.

Lack of Transparency: The company seems to operate under the assumption that customers won't notice or care about unexpected charges. When questioned, their response was to imply that if I truly didn't want the service, I should have acted sooner - a clear attempt to shift blame onto the customer for their own questionable practices.

Poor Conflict Resolution: When faced with a complaint, the company's representative responded with sarcasm rather than a genuine attempt to address the issue. This suggests a severe lack of proper training in conflict resolution and customer relations.

Final Thoughts: Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Empire Auto Protect to any potential customers. Their practices appear to prioritize profit over customer satisfaction and ethical behavior. Potential clients should be extremely cautious and vigilant if they choose to do business with this company. I strongly advise thoroughly documenting all interactions, carefully reviewing all agreements, and being prepared to advocate strongly for your rights as a consumer if you decide to engage with Empire Auto Protect.

The 3rd day 9/20 I was on hold for 25 minutes, when I told them I had a 20 minute lunch, before I received a confirmation number. But during that time, they stated they cannot cancel until they verify if I have another insurance. Which I stated, "It is none of your business, it is my car. Plus I cannot purchase the other until I get my refund."

Well on 9/24 I got an email from Mepco their billing company telling me when they would be billing and they are handling the account. I called them to find out it wasn't canceled and they were notified Friday 9/20 to start billing me. Again tried to contact Empire, but their hours "were closed", lol. If I could give this company 0 stars I would, first off they will ask you a lot of information, how many miles is on the car, what kind of car is it, then they take your card information. That's the usual thing to do. I got the policy 6-25-24, called my address on the booklet was wrong. I called to correct it, this was the first problem. Then while looking over the booklet I noticed that some of the information was misleading, so I called again to ask questions. I was already pissed off. Then I spoke to a Jamal that he says he is in the repo department and was going to repossess my car due to me canceling the policy. He was saying it was a lien on my car. When you call the lienholder on the booklet, it goes to Empire Auto. That was the 1st threat.

First and foremost, it's my money, if I don't want the warranty I don't have to have it, mind it it's only been about a week. So I called Jamal again. Asked about a key fob, his response "oh that is covered", caught you in a lie. It says in the booklet if you are locked out of your vehicle they will help you, it did not say nothing about a key fob. I am a really honest and truthful person. Don't lie to me just to get my money. The reps there are not professional. They have bad attitudes, I work in a call center, the way Jamal and the other reps talked to me I would not even purchase nothing from them. Don't buy this policy, trust me. The 4 or 5 stars given is good, but read how many scam reviews they do have. Then the so called manager called me today, after I got someone else to call in for me. The person I got to call told me to ask for Kenny ext 103.

I called the ext, reps said "Oh they not open until 10 am." I waited for awhile, oh my received a call before 10am. Stop playing games with people. Spoke to the so called manager. Got threatened again, his words were "If you don't take your post down, you won't get a refund", he sent the refund receipt, the money is still not in my account. You have to watch people like this. This is very false advertising and you playing with people money. I sent a review to BBB and I also called a lawyer. SOMETHING REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS COMPANY. Until my money is put back on my card, I will continue to post this no good company. Think about it, you spend 100 deductible, and read the fine writing, you may have to pay for the repairs yourself. In the handbook, it plainly says in bold writing SOME SHOPS DO NOT TAKE DIRECT PAYMENTS FROM US. I mean I can show you word for word what the booklet says.

It's been 2 days. Still have not gotten the refund, I'ma still post until I do receive it. PLEASE LOOK BELOW THESE IS PROOF WHAT I'M SAYING. The obligor all have the same telephone number. The lienholder is Walco Funding, look up the address, call the number, it goes back to Empire Auto Protect. Please do your research on this company before giving them a penny. Check the Better Business Bureau site. I purchased the Titanium extended warranty coverage for my 2017 Ford Explorer. I put in a claim for my transmission failure, but the warranty only covers up to $500 for the repairs. Their website advertising portrays your vehicle engine, transmission, and other major repairs would be covered and that this coverage would save you thousands in repairs. According to my claim, that is not the case.

Customer service told me to review the second to the last page of my coverage contract where is states,"...You can save on the cost of necessary repairs to your covered vehicle. You can save up to fifty percent (50%) [up to a maximum of five hundred dollars ($500) per occurrence and a total of two thousand dollars ($2000) during any continuous 12 month period while your membership coverage is active should your covered vehicle become inoperable and require repairs..." $500 will not cover a transmission repair...EVER! DO NOT USE. THEY DENY BASED ON WEAR AND TEAR WITHOUT INSPECTION. If you're looking for a review to lean either way this is the one I would have hoped to have found before going with their "service." I took my car in for repair as there was a clunking noise. Turns out that the engine mounts failed and some bushings. I have the exclusionary policy such that these items are covered.

They first attempted to dishonor their contract stating that the items on the work order weren't covered even though they never asked for any parts numbers. So then when I spoke to them and went through the contract with them on the phone and showed them that it was covered.... they changed their reasoning not to cover it because they said it was a wear and tear issue. I spoke with the mechanic and took it to a second mechanic as well and they both assured me wear and tear was not an issue and that wear and tear happens the second automobile leaves the dealership and that they had "collapsed and failed" and wear and tear is not a legitimate form of denial with regards to used vehicles of course. When I expressed this to them and offered that they send out their own third party inspection, something they should do not myself, they said that not all used cars have wear and tear.

This is an unprofessional business. They will take your money and when you need the coverage you paid for, they will deny your claims based on factless/senseless explanations they pull out of thin air... such as my particular claim where my covered radiator assembly failed and is leaking coolant out the assembly itself and they denied it saying they do not cover leaks?? But the radiator is a covered component? Well, now I’m confused to as how a radiator fails if it’s not leaking coolant? So now I had to hire an attorney and they’ve yet to respond to the demand letter sent by him last week to either cover the claim which is valid or initiate subrogation pursuant to their own contract. And as of today, they have failed to do either.

This business is stealing from consumers and is falsely advertising its products and services by cherry-picking which claims it will and will not pay seemingly based on the cost of repairs and the cost of the warranty the consumer purchased. Mind you, I paid 3500.00 in full. If this isn’t a scam... I don’t know what is. Stay far far far away.

Eric ** and Jason sold me a plan, representing it as a titanium package, but it turned out to be only a 'repair and assist' service. The discrepancy came to light when I received the policy confirmation via email, which clearly stated 'repair and assist'. Upon questioning, Eric explained that the naming differs across states. However, the true nature of the plan was fully revealed when I encountered an issue with my car and the claims department informed me it was not the platinum plan, but merely repair and assist. This situation is highly unethical, misleading innocent customers.

Should you review the recorded conversation (as you do record), you will find that I specifically requested the platinum package. Eric ** repeatedly assured me that what I was purchasing was indeed the platinum package, albeit referred to by a different name in various states. At no point did I consent to a lesser package. It appears there has been a misrepresentation on your part.

Spoke with Eric ** for a quote to purchase auto warranty as my vehicle was getting up there in miles. We went over numerous plans and items along with how I lived less than half a mile from work and have a second car so it's not used much. We agreed on their Titanium Full coverage plan with 0 deductible and they would cover all costs for parts and labor. Was told I just couldn't claim for preexisting conditions or any claims for the first 30 days and there was no mileage limitations. Fast forward 4 months and I have an issue when driving to the store. Call my shop and I bring it in. They state it is a transmission issue as some of the gears are gone which was the huge jerk that I felt while driving.

They file the claim and it gets denied saying I didn't drive the minimum needed miles of 1000 before the warranty kicked in. I specifically asked about this before purchasing as it would take me over 3 years to go 1000 miles on that vehicle and it's a 4 year contract. Why would I pay almost 1200 a year to not be able to use it. On top of that I find out they say I only have 500 dollars in coverage. All of this after being transferred consistently, hung up on, put on hold for hours and just plain ignored. The entire company is very rude and severely lacks customer service. This is what you deal with while trying to get your vehicle fixed over a 2 week period. Then I asked for a full refund as what I'm being told is not what I agreed to and they refuse to refund me all the money I've paid. So now not only am I out almost 400 bucks after being mislead to purchase a policy that did not feature or cover everything like I was informed.

This company has bait and switch coverages on me as well as misled me to believe I was getting one type of warranty with no restrictions other than 30 days to having a repair assist policy that I was unaware of and unwanted. On top of that they won't assist in fixing my vehicle or refund me for misleading me in the first place. During these weeks I've spoke to numerous people like Jay (the manager), Mel (who says he only answers phones to tell people Jay is sick and will call back tomorrow) and a few others who are all rude. I have text messages showing they will call back and never do. Also have audio and video recordings of how they speak on the phone, how I was on hold for over an hour multiple times and how I'm ignored and willfully hung up on.

On 10/23 I purchased an extended warranty from this company, here is my story: While being convinced that buying this warranty would be the right decision, you get pleasantries, funny banter and upbeat responses. However; once that warranty is purchased, and you need help with a claim, the real deal becomes apparent. I on my initial call (should be recorded), explained to the rep Michael that I was looking into getting an extended warranty for my vehicle a Tesla. I was told that the company was very familiar with this brand of vehicle and I would be getting the best warranty possible for my car.

However; recently I attempted to get an appointment at a Tesla Service Center and was told not by the rep who sold me the agreement, but by Tesla that 3rd party warranties were not accepted. That was not good news. I was then told to check into the other lonely 2 repair facilities to make an appointment. Dead end, they won’t touch my car because of the advanced technology. So, here I am dealing with this issue while the once super “nice” rep now turned inattentive and unresponsive pushes me off on others who are fast talkers, scam like rude and nasty people. I was told by one his name was “Joe” and then I spoke with a so called “Jay”. Now “Joe” tells me that there was no way to know Tesla would respond this way. How are you selling warranties for cars that you know nothing about the process the customers will have to go through?

I attempted to reach out to the “nice” Michael again. No response, but I was told by “Jay”, that Michael asked him to speak with me. He said that he spoke with the claims department and a “check is on the way”. Yes, one of the oldest scam sayings in history. Conclusion is after asking for a refund and my contract to be cancelled several times I am waiting on an invisible check. After leaving a review I got a call from “Jay”, the so called manager and he said the nastiest, most rude vile comments I’ve ever heard from a human being. This “company” is a scam and should be shut down for being so deceptive and ignorant.

But instead, they didn't cancel it at all, instead they kept the policy active to steal money and I got a feeling they do it to a lot of other people. Well, I think we have a legitimate reason now more than legitimate to file a claim in a federal court here in the 9th Circuit of California. Now I have more than a reason for a lawsuit since they got it in their little policy that we can't file lawsuits against them but when you're stealing money after we requested cancellation that's fraud and embezzlement as well as unjust enrichment.

So my wife and I were looking for an extended warranty for our 2017 Audi Q7 because having an Audi we know that if anything breaks down it will cost a lot so we called a few then we called Empire Auto. We told the guy we wanted their best package and asked what it covered. He said everything and that it was 100 percent covered so we bought it and did the payment plan. We received a little book a week later but never received anything else so we read over it and thought, "Ok this should be good." Then a little over a month after our transmission started shifting hard and a transmissions malfunction came up so we made an appointment at the dealer. We brought it in. Dropped it off. Then the next day they called saying we need a transmission and that the warranty will only cover $10,000 out of $18,000 it cost so we had to pay 8,000 out of our own pockets when we were told everything would be covered.

They are a bad warranty. Do not go through them. They pay based on what the vehicle is worth because when we called to ask about it that’s what the lady told us and then she says, "It was all in the package sent to you," and we told her we never received a package. She said, "Well we sent it to this address," and we were like that is not our address like it was all a set up. Please do not go through Empire. Don’t get screwed like we did. Do your research.

I purchased a plan through a guy named Eric **. Seemed like a straight shooter and after reviewing the details and costs of the plan, I decided to sign up. He took the down payment and we set my card up for auto payment going forward. About a month later, I was notified that the payment did not go through. The bank had blocked the charge as potentially fraudulent, so after clearing that up with the bank, we ran the payment successfully over the phone and set it back up for auto pay.

Two months go by and I receive a message that the payment did not go through and my policy would be cancelled. I called to confirm the card on file and they ran the payment over the phone without issue. One month later, I receive another notification that the payment did not go through and the policy again was at risk of cancellation. I called and again had them confirm the credit card info and run the payment. It processed successfully while on the phone. The billing side of things is a bit of a nuisance, but nothing compared to what happens next.

I take my vehicle in for a minor repair that should be fully covered by the warranty. After two weeks, waiting for a response, the repair shop tells me that the coverage will take care of about 25% of the costs (not 100% as was promised by Eric). I called to clear this up and speak with customer service at Empire Auto Protect and from the moment the person answers the phone (he says his name is Jake), the lack of common courtesy and respect has been nothing short of appalling. He won't give me his name or connect me with a manager.

He stated that I'm lucky they are willing to cover anything and I should be happy with the $500 they offered. He then tells me that due to my payment being late, they have now modified my coverage and the limit was reduced from $12,500 down to $500 and this is what I can expect going forward. He continues to reiterate late payments, which I can clearly see were charged on my bank statement. When I referenced the payments, the dates, and asked to speak with the manager or someone who can help, he stated that the administrator and finance company are the ones who made this change and then directed me to speak with "the bank", EFS Companies.

I call EFS companies and spoke with someone who was kind and reviewed the account with me. She told me that even if payments were late, they cannot modify the agreement and reduce the coverage. She recommended I contact the warranty company, Omega Auto Care, as Empire sells policies through Omega and finances them through EFS. I called Omega Auto Care and spoke with one of their representatives and shared my experience up to this point. He pulled up my contract and policy and stated that my policy has always been what it is today and that they certainly don't change it, even if there is a late payment. The policy I have covers 50% of the costs, up to $500.00. This is not the 100% of the costs, up to $12,500 that was represented by Eric ** and Empire Auto Protect.

Empire Auto Protect clearly misrepresented what they were offering. As I contact the organization for clarity and understanding, they are rude, chastising, they blame others (the customer (me), the bank (EFS), the administrator(Omega)), and rather than admit they misrepresented from the beginning, they state that the agreement has been modified, due to a late payment (again... I have auto-pay). I really hope this is seen by others who are considering whether or not to purchase through Empire Auto Protect. I had a few companies I was comparing, but the offer Eric made to me (the misrepresentation) sounded like the best value.

I am now out several hours, my vehicle has been in the shop for over a month for something minor, and the people at Empire Auto Protect are unwilling to make it right. Rather than following through on their commitment and agreement, they ask if I'd like to cancel. I would prefer to have them fulfill their commitment and honor the agreement we made, as I am willing to continue to fulfill my end of the agreement. There is so much more I can share, but this has been an absolutely terrible experience.

When I had to use it and took my vehicle in, there were some things that had to do with my emission. It needed an exhaust manifold reseal. The gasket went bad. The vehicle has 85,000 miles. It wasn't covered under the government's warranty. So, being it was presented to me as a bumper-to-bumper type coverage, I expected that it would cover that. It didn't. It's a big job. It's $4,000. Luckily, I found another mechanic shop that I dropped it off to on Friday to do that job. But when they covered, they covered the control arm and the bushings.

The only issue that I had with that was I expected to pay my $100 deductible. But they do not pay for taxes. So, the dealership and them went back and forth. "We don't pay for taxes," is what the dealership said. And Empire Auto Protect said, "We don't pay for taxes." Who's left to pay for the taxes? That would be me. So, it ended up costing me more than my $100 deductible for a covered service or repair. Other than that, the warranty is affordable. At least my car was covered and the repair that they paid off for the control arm was a substantial repair by itself for that control arm. So, I was appreciative. And I understand every warranty place out there has those exclusions. I just wish that it's clearly outlined on their contract.

The reps were very helpful and gave me what I needed and more. I liked that the plan was five years and 75,000 miles on a '15 Explorer. It's bumper to bumper coverage. Thus far, I would recommend Empire Auto Protect.

I like their price and the knowledge and responsiveness of the representative that I spoke with at Empire Auto Protect. The rep was able to address my concerns. When I file a claim, I contact them and they deal with the repair location. The claim process has also been fast and easy. Every time I called in, the phone was answered quickly. They caught the account information for my phone number before I even asked. The representatives were responsive. I was in a bind, and instead of two hours, they got it done in 20 minutes. I really appreciated it. It was definitely hands-on service in a way that I'm not used to anymore.
