    As I was driving home black ants started crawling all over the inside of the car and on me. Then the car started shaking and the engine light came on after I got on the highway. I wasn't allowed to test drive on any road with a speed limit over 45mph, if so I believe the mechanical issues would have shown up prior to purchase. Once I arrived back home I immediately took the car to Firestone per Drivetime's manager's directions. I drove THREE hours for this particular car. I had spoken to Derek prior to driving down and informed him that the 2016 Nissan Rogue was the ONLY car that I was interested in and set an appointment for 11:00 am.

    I arrived about 15-20 minutes early to find the car being brought up for another customer to test drive. AFTER the other customer decided not to test drive it I was allowed to. I currently own a 2017 Nissan Rogue with 232k miles on it and have confidence in Nissan products. I just bought a car and can't drive it. I was told that if I require a rental car that I would be reimbursed. Who has money for a rental??? Praying that this issue is resolved and the car repair expeditiously.

    Buyer Be aware. I purchased a 2014 Chevy Equinox from DriveTime back in March (2024) and later on that evening I had engine trouble. The next day I was able to go in and “back out” of that specific vehicle and was afforded the option to get another 2014 Chevy Equinox; this one with lower mileage. All seemed well…until I began having trouble with this one and had to use the 30 warranty for repairs. From then on, now here we are in September (2024) I have funneled more money into this vehicle than gas!

    Don’t fall for this. It isn’t true and you pay more because payments are every two weeks. Some months you pay 3 payments in one month. They automatically add gap insurance of 5,000 to your loan. The car you buy isn’t even worth the money by then. Just don’t do DriveTime unless you are desperate.

    The one experience I’ve had with them is not what I expected. Firstly, the car I purchased didn’t come with floor mats or charger. (1st warning sign), second, stated it wasn’t in any accidents but have multiple panels painted with horrible color match, lots of overspray and pdr holes in dog leg. And finally, had car for 3 months, throws check engine light, took to BMW dealer only to find out there’s over $5000 in repairs to make it safe and roadworthy. Their Silver Rock warranty was advertised as bumper to bumper however it only covers very limited items (actual engine, actual trans, no components or accessories to those items). Overall would not recommend to anybody ever, however if it is a must proceed with caution.

    The service was fine, the vehicle was OK. I needed something in a hurry for my daughter and her 5 children. Her boyfriend could not qualify for a loan so I had to step in. The interest is SHAMEFUL, the payment gig with Bridgecrest is SHAMEFUL. The owner of that company is Rolling in the dough and screwing the little people. So you're poor, you have bad credit so let's charge some outrageous interest rate and by the time you pay this off, the vehicle will most likely be ready for the dump. Walk, ride a bike, ride the bus, save some money and buy from a reputable dealer and Lender with a warranty longer than 30 days. See the photo of the amount of interest per payment (Every 2 weeks) and the principal you are paying. Ridiculous, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

    Found out the car had been wrecked after purchase. When returning the car and asking for a refund of our downpayment we were told that we damaged the car. We had picture proof that the spot they were talking about was shown in a picture that was taken on their lot the day of purchase. They took part of our downpayment to cover the damage that was not our fault.

    Worst place in the world. I have a 2004 mustang gt 40th anniversary edition in mint condition and only 50k miles on it. Went to trade it in and they offer me blue book value at first which was over 7k then turn around and change it to lay only offering me 1,000 for it. They must be out of their mind. I wouldn’t deal with these idiots if they were the last place on earth. Rip offs. If you want to lose a fortune then have at it. Plus they advertise you to pick your own payment that never happens. They are full of deceitful lies. Stay away from these guys. There are way better places that will help you with or without bad credit.

    Reading through many of these reviews, I wondered - where are the Drive Time locations relative to dealerships for Ford, Mazda, Chevy, etc.? In Riverside, CA the Drive Time location is across the street from dealerships or within a block or two. Does Drive Time take its vehicles to the dealerships for inspection prior to sale to Drive Time customers? Should that be done, issues can be resolved and a paper trail be generated.

    My Name is David **, Drive Time located at 2221 Lehigh St, Allentown, PA 18103, sold me a 2014 Ford Escape, I have had the vehicle only 4 months and the following issues occurred which were not covered by the warranty. A Right ABS Sensor, Temperature Sensor and a New Battery needed to be replaced. Also the Rear Shocks needed to be fixed and the Right Axle needed to be adjusted. These repairs are over $2,000. The vehicle also was in desperate need of an oil change. It was as thick as sludge which was surprising because I barely put a 1,000 miles on the vehicle. I do not recommend doing business with DriveTime, from the diagnostic I did these issues were with the vehicle when I bought it.

    I was out of work for three months and my credit was horrible. I went to Drivetime two weeks ago and was presented with a decent offer of a $395 down payment for a very nice car but I did not have the down payment. Two weeks later, I had the down payment and was told my application was still valid but when I got to the dealership I was told that I now needed a $1,000 down payment, that the original car was no longer available and was forced to take an add on that I didn’t want. I told him that I only had the original $400 and that is when he directed me to the $500 down payment cars. He directed me to a car that was $362 bi-weekly and I told him that I couldn’t afford that and that I needed monthly payments. He ignored me and kept going until I finally said no.

    I then picked out a car that I didn’t want because it was the only one that I could afford but when he told me the monthly payment I said that I wasn’t paying all of that for a 2018 car despite how desperate I was. I asked him to take off all of the add ons and that’s when he started getting rude and yelling until I got up and was about to walk out. My original interest rate was 13.95%. It all of a sudden it became 19.90%. I got up and despite being desperate was about to walk out when he softened his tone and I came back in and very reluctantly signed the deal. I regret it and and seriously considering taking the car back. NEVER AGAIN DRIVE TIME.

    The car purchase experience was a nightmare with terrible customer service at the New Castle Delaware location. Representatives were not helpful at all, we had to travel back to the state several times, and they did not offer any courtesies at all. I was very stressed with the purchase experience and the documentation has incorrect mileage and other information incorrect on it. If that wasn't enough the vehicle itself has extensive mechanical problems and two definite collision sites according to DriveTime in network mechanics.

    DriveTime affiliate mechanics give a diagnostic readout of four critical matters: Communication with the Steering Column is faulty (SCM/MRM). The resistance of the Starter Battery is too high. Front Keyless Go Low Frequency Antenna is faulty. An open circuit exists. The Satellite Radio Antenna is faulty. There is a short circuit to ground, and there is a short circuit to the battery (+)

    To add insult to injury the rear passenger fender has clear car collision damage that goes beyond cosmetic. The mechanic told me.to take the car back. And there is another collision site on the driver's side door. Not to mention a host of other scratches and dents we did not notice because we made our purchase at night.

    The dealer didn't bother to clean and prepare the vehicle either and because it was after close when we walked out the door was locked behind us and the lights cut off. We drove off with huge error message on the dashboard that reads "STOP VEHICLE! LEAVE ENGINE RUNNING!"?!?! This has been a nightmare experience! I want to exchange the vehicle for a decent vehicle without mechanical issues and clear and obvious collision damage. I can't believe DriveTime even sold a vehicle like this. Two DriveTime affiliate mechanics shops can't believe it either. This has been a terrible experience. I want another vehicle please or to return this one.

    I went in to test drive a traverse & loved it. Sales rep walked me thru paperwork & told me my down payment would be $700. I agreed & told him I would reserve it with $100 today & pick it up on Friday. During test drive the low tire pressure light was on. I asked for that to be checked. There were 2 nails in the tire. It needed 3 new tires. Silver Rock did cover the cost but this took up 2 days of my time. Bad experience.

I gave and sent over what they wanted then when we get home I had fraudulent activity and needed a copy of my social and phone bill. Sent it to him to call me. Never happen. Then I get a phone call. Congratulations me about being approved and how was my experience. I said a scale from 1 to 10 it was a double 0 and also spoke to a manager there at cassata ave, no help then got another call. Said I miss my appointment today. I said it was Monday, still driving in my old car.

    Day 1: While I was waiting for the temp tag I noticed the tire was low. As the salesperson was putting air in the tire it was leaving out but somehow he managed to get the air back in. 5 minutes after leaving the tire became completely flat, stuck on side the road with no spare tire. I had to pay out of pocket to a mobile mechanic to change my tire. Well come to find out the stem valve was bad lol. So I had to get a used tire and a new stem valve.     I am not going to bash anyone by using their names. Yet I shopped in Athens Ga and at this time I’m not fully satisfied to say the least. I went with the hopes that I could choose between a few cars yet that fell off the table. I had a co-buyer go With me and just because he used an online bank they said he would need more proof to show his residence. So I had spent Over $100 to Uber to the location and been without a car for over 2 months. So next I was pulling up every account I’ve ever had to prove more of my personal income. So then I’m told I’m going to be limited on basically every car I had wanted to look at. No cars would be under $2-3,000 down. Yet my income was at or above $2600 or more. So now I’m told that I can pick from the only one I had driven or a few others that I wouldn’t have ever bought. So I’m now driving a car that has literally no horsepower. I’m given an (APR) of 29.40% and add ons were added without me asking for them.

    So now I’ve got one of the cheapest cars on the lot with an outrageous payment and outrageous apr rate. $15,000 car could end up costing over $41,000!!! I’ve had it one week and I was in the shop today. Due to standing water in the floorboard, a moldy smell and something blowing out my Vents. Mind you this is a 2019 model With just over 65,000 miles now. I’m in disbelief that they had added the add ons without even asking me. Then acted like they was giving me the option to keep or remove the warranty’s. I felt like they was going to assure I had no car at all if I removed the add ons. So now I’m stuck in a car with a extremely tiny motor. A outrageous payment and Apr rate. I had hoped to get a car that I really wanted. I had hoped that someone would have made that possible. I don’t see that they will make this right even if I call. I’ve messaged and I get nowhere at all.

    Before leaving the lot after purchasing the car myself and my salesman noticed the front left side (driver side) headlights were not working properly.     On April 19th, I bought a 21 elantra at Drivetime with about 51k miles on it. They sold it to me without a cabin air filter or an engine air filter. The key did not fit the cylinder for my car and now not even 3 months later as I’m due for an oil change. I cannot get one because the oil filter cup housing is damaged and was sealed with a RTV/JB weld. Firestone (which is a vendor for the silverrock warranty) refuses to change the oil unless that part is replaced and drivetime is refusing to accommodate the service because I’m outside the 30-day/1,500-mile limited warranty. This is a part that was damaged before purchase but the issue was not discovered until it was due for an oil change.

    There was also no engine splash shield and can’t put one on because under the car where it would be bolted on is also damaged. The navigation touch screen has random & constant ghost taps and swipe events because it was damaged on the top left panel. They did not even give me a spare tire but gave me a fix a flat kit to compensate. The main thing I need is for the oil cup housing to be replaced because it prevents a much needed oil change which could be detrimental to the vehicle. It should not be an out of pocket expense for me since it was damaged and attempted to fixed with a sealant before I purchased it but drivetime continues to deny assisting me in the matter.

    I took the car to Firestone within the 30 days and the cabin air filter and engine air filter was placed but the diagnosis for the oil cup housing was missed until I went to a different Firestone for a simple diagnosis/battery check. They advised it will need to be replaced to do an oil change. My check engine light is now on and I don’t know what to do. This car has been nothing but problems for me and drivetime does not care to alleviate my concerns or meet the needs and standard requirements of the vehicle that they sold me.

    Bought a truck in August 2023, check engine light came on on day 2, called local office to inquire on the 3 day return policy, we were told no take it shop since we purchased silverrock extended warranty, a month later we get truck back.. too late to return now so we suck it up, biggest mistake ever. The truck goes into shop for 6 weeks at time, mechanic changes various things, we get truck back within 3 days it's back in shop, we've had truck for 11 months and only put 3000 miles on it. Water pump, all sensors, pcm replaced, lojack removed due to installed incorrectly, wiring changed, it's in the shop now at the Dodge dealer and the mechanic has no clue why the truck will not run, gas to the floor and will only go 5mph sputters then dies, no codes to diagnose with. Arrigo Dodge said new engine needed, silverrock said no. I will never deal with Drive Time or their affiliates again.

    My family's experience with DriveTime has been a nightmare to say the least. They gave us a car that broke down 4 days later only to replace it with a car that broke down 30 days later. Now all the red-tape hidden stuff in the contract is coming out and we're unable to be reimbursed for days off work, rentals, etc. At every level they've acted like we didn't just buy a lemon from them. She was so happy when she made this purchase and now that has been replaced with sadness. Come to find out I have two more friends who had the same experience with Drivetime.

    If buying a car from them is a choice, I encourage you to have someone service it immediately when you get home. Make sure it's within that five days or they will stiff you along with SilverRock. Watch out for the 5 day return policy used by Drivetjme and the 30 or 45,000 crap Silver Rock uses to stiff you. This seems to be the case for all dealerships which is why they have so much paperwork. Or, sign each piece of work with a line and not your actual signature. We gotta be just as conniving with these people.

    I feel your people are liars and tell customers what they want to hear just to get them to the dealership! I was told I was approved and was about to make a 3 hour drive to one of your stores to purchase a car. I decided to initiate a chat online so I could ask if I was for sure approved before I drove so far to just be told no. I was rest assured that "yes" I am totally approved. I was then told I could go to the local Drivetime dealership to fill out the paperwork so that the car 3 hrs away would not be sold before I could get there. I was getting this car for my daughter and wanted to make sure we got it so I did as suggested and went to the local dealership.

    After getting there I was told, "No, you're not approved"....I was like, you have to be kidding me!!! I don't know what I would have done had I made that trip to be told this AFTER I made it my business to verify I was really actually approved!! They are liars!! So my daughter's fiance decided to apply and was approved for 0 percent down or 95 dollars....he is paid daily by his boss and gets 1099 at the end of the year but has record of his pay through Venmo, he was told that all he had to do was show proof of pay on his Venmo....he told Cam at the dealership how much he makes daily and she even looked at the venmo, she calculated what he makes and wad told that he could get the car he wanted for 95 dollars down....so at this time, hopes were once again high for getting the car.

    He had to go back there, which I forgot to tell you is not a short drive to the local dealership either, it's 1 1/2 hours, but he had to make a return trip because he didn't have his license with him...once he went back he was told, Oops our bad, your actually going to need 3000 dollars down because taxes have to be taken out of the pay you get and that drops your monthly income down too far! Now this girl Cam said she has worked there for 8 years and is a manager, so why would she neglect to let us know that before he left the first time....she definitely does not do her job thoroughly, that is something she should have told him! She said she has worked with people who get paid through venmo before so this should not have been new to her, right!

    I am currently buying a vehicle through drivetime, but I will NEVER again buy one from that lot!!! Ian, the gentleman that helped me buy my first car was so much more knowledgeable and new how to do his job. I feel the online chat person and Cam were just deceivers and do not care for their customers...they just tell you what you want to hear!!! Bad bad bad experience....bottom line...don't believe them when they say you are approved!! P.s. I would understand if they said pre-approved!!

    I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe late August/early September 2023. The head unit went out in 3 weeks. Then the engine started having issues. Long story short, there’s about $9000 worth of work that needs to be done and Silver Rock is a waste of money. My car was given to me with less than 2 cups of VERY black oil in it. Now the car is barely drivable and Silver Rock is giving me the runaround. I will never purchase another vehicle from DriveTime again. They do not check the vehicles like they’re suppose to. I am now paying for a car that is probably going to stop working at any moment.

    Left the lot and not even 24 hours later the check engine light came on. Throttle body needs replaced. Try to put the car in park and shut it off and it keeps telling me to shift car to park even though it is. The cars wasn’t clean on the inside.     This is my second time buying from DriveTime, but first time buying from the Madison TN location. I was between a rock and a hard place. Steering wheel shakes when you get up to speed around 60 mph. This may be due to the new tires up front. I read that Ironman tires ride kinda rough.

    Was concerned about two front tires from the beginning and was informed that they had been inspected and found no issues or they would have been replaced.     My experience with DriveTime company was immaculate throughout this process. In my opinion financially the payments are high risk high reward. My partner and I don’t have the best credit, no history with financing but it was an issue here. The sales representatives that helped us were Austin & Joseph who were well spoken, patient and friendly with our family.

    I purchased a car May 16…purchasing the car was pleasant. However, a week and a half after I had the car I started experiencing issues…the warranty covered by Silverrock allowed me to get the car to a repair facility…long story short, the car was sold to me with no oil. Repair facility put oil in the car and reset sensors. A day after driving it, started having additional issues.

    Immediately took it back and was set up with a rental (A WHOLE MISLEADING PROCESS) and it was quickly discovered that the whole engine was bad! Because I only had the car for such a short time, I was referred to DriveTime customer care and was told by the supervisor that the car had passed the vehicle inspection and the engine was not bad off the lot. How did it get bad in a week!!?!?! Makes no sense! I’ve made 2 car payments on a vehicle that is STILL in the shop. I would NEVER EVER recommend DriveTime to anyone. Ever! I only chose 1 star because I do like the car and the salesmen was kind. Wish I could choose 0 stars though.

    5/7 (7 weeks ago) purchased a 2014 Toyota Sienna at the Ft. Myers dealership. Last Friday, 6/21, the assistant manager, Ryan, reported to me that the vehicle can't be registered, so I have to return the vehicle as there is a "stop" that comes up when you run the VIN on FLHSMV. It'd been great if this was something done prior to deeming the car able to be sold. Saturday, 6/22, Ryan was not willing to understand my predicament, nor cared to the fact I purposedly chose the vehicle for the reliability and durability of it, plus, as a return customer, I'd get a small discount on the price tag. Now, the region does not have another vehicle just like it, nor a Toyota that will accommodate my family at the cost I can afford. I called customer relations, and they stated that even if there was another vehicle in another dealership, Drivetime does not ship vehicles to and fro.

    On Saturday, Ryan reported that if there are no choices for me to select, we can part ways and undo the contract. Today I called to find out the details of my refund, and he informed me it takes 7-10 business days, and the vehicle will need to be inspected. In addition, I have to be "approved" for a full refund. They did not wait that long to get their money, and the vehicle has had close to $5K in repairs, which speaks volume of how "well" inspected and in "good" running order it was when it was driven off the lot. Never will I ever waste any time in the future with this company.
