    They do check your credit too and it says they don't but they do check your credit every time you call or go online to get a vehicle from them. I would never go through them again because it's false statements they say.

    The I purchased on September 21st, 2024 had major work done in the month of November. Cost 1,200.00 Dollars. Then February 09,2025 the motor went out. It was made in the shop to find out there was a recall on the motor that is being replaced by the factory. All this trouble and inconvenience within 5 months.

    First off big shout out to ** at the DriveTime at 3300 Mechanicsville Tpke, Richmond, VA 23223. He did an amazing job at explaining all the steps from start to finish. I'm super happy with the experience. Finally thanks to DriveTime to working with me during a difficult point in my life where my credit score is less than ideal.     IN SHORT, I BOUGHT A NEW CAR and in less than a month, I found out IT ALREADY NEEDED NEW BRAKES AND TWO TIRES. They AGREED TO PAY FOR THE TWO NEW TIRES BUT REFUSED TO CHANGE THE BRAKES SINCE THEY AREN’T “FAILING”. They said the brakes measured at 4mm (recommended changing width) instead of 3mm (necessary changing width) DUDE..REALLY? So my brakes need to FAIL before you put me in a safe car??! My advice, bring a mechanic with you. Maybe they can help you make sure you leave with a safe car 😔.

    Here’s the whole story: I was happy when I bought the car. Everyone was pleasant, I wasn’t rushed or pressured to buy. However, when I pointed out two tires should be replaced, the dealer told me they are safe and everything is fine. I’m not a mechanic, I couldn’t argue. A couple weeks later I took it to MY mechanic so he could make sure I wasn’t sold a lemon. He said all the major parts are in good shape, no rust, and a lot of other good mechanical things. HOWEVER, he also told me I needed new tires and brakes. (I attached the invoice) That’s when I became upset. I WAS SOLD A CAR THAT ALREADY NEEDS BRAKES AND TWO TIRES? I reported it, thinking, well, I’m still under warranty so they will fix it. WRONG. After making me change mechanics, they agreed to pay for the two tires but not the brakes because it’s only recommended not mandatory.

    My mechanic measured the brakes at 2mm-3mm. Their mechanic measured it at 4mm but “couldn’t” provide me with the proof. The brakes would only be changed at 3mm (necessary changing width) not at the recommended changing width at 4mm. Brakes start at 10mm-12mm. The car I JUST bought had brakes that were over halfway used. The dealer told me that all cars are put through a safety inspection. If they missed brakes and tires, what else did they miss???? I included the invoices from both my mechanic (Elite) and their mechanic (Firestone).

    Drivetime, Bridgecrest, and SilverRock are all involved in a predatory loan practice. Do not buy a car from here. They don't check any of their cars, and Silverrock will deny any claim you make for repairs. Brigdecrest Jacks the interest rates up super high on junk cars even with good credit. I've had my car 8 months. In the second month the water pump failed. Silverrock the warranty company doesn't want to pay for anything. 2500 dollars for repairs. 4 months later value cover gaskets and tune up 2500 dollars. And the list of repair shops are a joke. Your only choice is a muffler and brake shop which charges double for everything. They are all in together ripping customers off. They sell you this 5 year warranty that covers absolutely nothing. I'm am looking to start a class action law suit against all of these companies for predatory lending. If anyone else wants to join the process leave a comment on my review. I repeat do not buy here.

    With the finance rate that they have you pray their car should not break down within the 30-day time period or even within the first year. If you plan to finance better take somebody you understands cars with you. My financed a car and just right before my first payment the check engine light came on and the car is now dead and all I get from them is call their SilverRock mechanics. Expect to pay for all repairs cause most they don't even cover. After the second week of having it it says I need a oil change. Why the hell do I need an oil change. Do these people not inspect their vehicle before they sell them, sure the car looked pretty but it was a goddamn lemon. Now I have to pay for the lemon before I can even afford or consider to have a new car.

    Do not buy a car from here. I even put 1000.00 down. They won’t let you leave without the extra protection because they know the car will break down. My battery died then my breaks. I paid the extra money for the protection but 2000.00 later I am in a nightmare.

    I was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with my car buying experience at Drive Time. To begin with I asked Nia if the car would be detailed or cleaned prior to delivery. Her response was NO, the car was cleaned when they received it and she does not have anyone to clean the vehicle. I don’t have to take it and she could not promise me if she will have anyone to clean the car prior to delivery or post delivery. It is on a courtesy to deliver a clean car. She was very dismissive as a car sales person.

    I had the misfortune to call back to the dealership again today because the brakes on the car sound horrible and I’m not convinced that this vehicle should have passed inspection and I’m about to take it to Maryland State Police to see if this safety issue should be addressed. Nia in her dismissive tone again told me I could return the vehicle if I don’t want it. No solution offered. I asked her for her manager's name and she gave me the number to client relations. I have been purchasing cars for 40 years and I have NEVER been treated the way that I was at DRIVE TIME. I am appalled at the service. I should have left at the first bad encounter with her. She offers no solutions for the bad service.

    I wish I could give ZERO stars. I bought a 2017 Rogue on a Friday. It broke down by Wednesday. I agreed to another vehicle and it started giving me trouble 40 mins after the purchase!     My recent experience purchasing my vehicle was good overall. The customer service was good and the process was seamless. My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the vehicle. Records show the car arrived on 1/23/25 and I test-drove the car on 1/25 and purchased the vehicle on 1/27 in the evening. Given that timeline, I would have expected the vehicle to be cleaner but it was not. The car was barely vacuumed and still dirty on the inside. Cupholders had caked on dirt which looked like it was not even attempted to be cleaned. A large white stain was still on the seatbelt in the back as well and the trunk was covered in a layer of dirt that we easily vacuumed. We even found a used vape pen which could have easily been removed if the car was cleaned better. The outside was also covered in dirt.

    I understand the vehicle is used but my previous Drive Time vehicle purchase was not like this and care had been taken into cleaning that vehicle. If you have a potential buyer that is returning to look at a car again it might seal the deal if the car was clean and looked appealing. This experience will not stop me from shopping at Drive Time again, as stated, the customer service and the process is very easy and there is little stress involved. But I would encourage the team to ensure a clean car to improve the overall customer experience.

    Bought a Lincoln MKS from DriveTime 6 months ago. Nice looking car and was ecstatic when I purchased it. Soon after buying the car I noticed that the car was driving a little rough and it was very loud. Brought it back to the DriveTime and they referred me to Silver Rock for my extended warranty because they didn’t have any technicians on site and it was one day out of the 30 day warranty for them. Later on the car began to wobble and drive even worse. I parked the car due to my job having me travel all the time, I had to get back and forth to different properties, the main reason I bought the car in the first place, so I went to Firestone who was in the warranty network. They inspected the car and found over $10000 worth of damage under the car, they stated it was a flood car and the damages included the water pump leaking and the steering column was broken which could have caused the wheels to come right from under the car.

    This could have happened if I had continued driving the car in which I had my gkids and my own children in this car which would have been devastating if this had happened. I called DriveTime and they pushed me off to customer relations, they said that there was nothing that they could do, I called customer relations and they were condescending and told me that until a claim was submitted they could do nothing, I then try to explain to them that the work couldn’t be done at that Firestone and it would have to be towed to another site. They told me to get it towed and have the claim submitted, I asked them how then was I supposed to get home and the towing service would have to tow it to another city. Customer relations told me I would have to figure that out and they couldn’t do anything about that. Frustrated and disappointed at this point.

    I just got this car 6 months ago and customer relations basically said that Firestone didn’t know what they were talking about and they needed to do their job. Firestone tech showed me all the damage and I was mortified. I then called Bridgecrest the finance company and they pushed me back to customer relations. No one is taking accountability or responsibility for this car. Everyone is sending me to everyone else and nothing is getting done. In hindsight, I should have not taking their word that it was inspected and went and got another reputable inspection. On the other hand, Firestone was very concerned, helpful and empathetic towards me and offered to do whatever they could to help. They were honest and straightforward. They stated that they see many warranty claims from DriveTime. The car is only worth 13k and has 10k in damages.

    At this point, I don’t know what is going to happen, there is only a few scenarios, one they try to say that these repairs aren’t under warranty and refused to repair and put it back on me, two, do all of the repairs, unlikely, three, take what I have paid, almost 5k and apply it to a different vehicle, or lastly, I lose all the money I paid for the car and give me another car starting all over. This experience has went from being exciting to becoming a nightmare. I am now without a vehicle and have to rely on rentals. So frustrated and disappointed.

    My experience with DriveTime at 2143 W Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ 85015, was absolutely awful. The salesperson, **, misled me about the transaction on four separate occasions. When I finally decided to request my money back, I was told I had to come in person. After making a fifth trip, I was informed that I’d have to wait for a check to be mailed to them and then return yet again.     The process with the Greenville SC location is not managed well at all. I went to pick a vehicle and after finally making a choice on the day I went, I got there at 1130 am and waited till probably 330pm before actually being seen, I was told the vehicle I wanted was not available. I test drove 2 more vehicles and picked one and after finally getting ready to close the deal on my 2nd choice I was told my 1st choice was available. I finished the process but had to come back the next day. I got there around 1230pm and waited for several more hours to finally take possession of the vehicle around 5pm. The process is very exhausting and it seems that that location is not managed well. The agents were overworked most of the time managing several tasks while some just sat at computers looking like they were taking classes or something.

    It’s nice to leave the place with a car for $500 down. But in the long run you are paying triple what the car is worth! My 2017 Hyundai Elantra had 82,000k when I purchased it, it was a rental before and had 1 fender bender previously. I left $500 down and am paying $417 a month for the next 6 years which is close to $30,000 for a car that is worth $5,745. This should actually be illegal. The car was $14,995 when I purchased it and interest which is where they get you is $15,000. My payment monthly is $417 which only $84 of that goes towards the principal of the car and the rest is interest. I have been paying this for a year already and have only paid off 2% of the car.

    I’ve already had to change the brakes and battery mind you it takes a $300 battery. The one they sold it to me with had half the power of what the car actually needed. They did not give me a spare tire or jack with the vehicle either and of course I signed off on that when they throw a 20 page or more contract in front of your face real fast to sign and drive! They literally come to you with 3 payments from lowest to highest. My lowest was $417 and highest was $621. They rush you through the transaction and take advantage of the fact that you need a car desperately if you only have $500 down towards it! You have a 30 day warranty with them and then that’s it. You’re on your own. Everything after that is on you! So just think about all these things before you go to this place and purchase a vehicle through them. Listen. If it seems too good to be true it’s usually because it is!!!! Buyer beware!!!!

    In March 2023, I purchased a 2016/17 Nissan Maxima SV. The staff at DriveTime Lakeland was great! However, I picked the car up in West Palm Beach. The interior of the car was not at all what I expected... it was obviously a very "used" vehicle. The car 67,000 miles. This was my first and last experience with DriveTime, but I was going thru a bankruptcy and therefore, desperate.

    I picked the car up on Friday, March 24th, and initially, everything seemed ok, mechanical wise. I was never able to connect to my SiriusXM account, via Bluetooth, so I scheduled an appointment at a local Nissan Dealer to perform a diagnostic check. On Thursday, my daughter and I noticed smoke, lots of it, coming from the exhaust pipes. I wasn't overly concerned because I had the diagnostic scheduled for the next day...Friday, March 31st, I received the report from the local dealership that included the reason why the vehicle was smoking. The verdict was a bad transmission and motor, and the repair bill was over $15,000- clearly more than the car was worth!

    I immediately contacted the Lakeland DriveTime because they were closer to my home, and the GM agreed to allow me to return the vehicle on that day, and I was given my $620 down payment back. This was a terrible and embarrassing experience. The next month I bought 2020 vehicle from a reputable Nissan Dealership. Judging from the number of 5 star reviews, not everyone had the terrible experience I had. I would strongly advise potential customers to thoroughly have a mechanic check the car you are considering purchasing, and verify how many owners the vehicle has had via CARFAX.

It was a great experience and I wouldn’t go anywhere else to buy a car and I think it’s worth it for me and my children. They have lots of space and room in their vehicle and it is so nice. I really tried to find the best option car choices and I found one. I really like my car. It’s red. One of my favorite colors but the bottom of it is coming off like the front lip of the car. It’s trying to come off but I’m going to try and take the car to Jiffy lube or Quick-O mufflers to get that fixed but I don’t know how much it cost to fix the problem. But anyway I really appreciate and like drive time. It was really worth the visit.

    I thought Drivetime was great. Was getting a newer car. Test drove it and it seemed great and the process was so fast, I get why now I had the car less than a month and needs $1,000 of work conveniently not covered by the 30 day or the extended warranty I bought.     I purchased a Kia forte from Drivetime three and a half months ago. My purchase included a five-year powertrain warranty from Silver Rock for $3555.00. I recently noticed some leaking spots on my garage floor, so I took my car to an authorized Silver Rock repair center to have it diagnosed. The repair shop stated it was the coolant reserve tank that was leaking. Here`s the problem in a real way. The cooling fan and the coolant reserve tank are one unit and can`t be replaced separately. The contract covers the cooling fan but not the coolant reserve tank. Remember I`ve only had the car for close to four months and the very first time I have to use the warranty it doesn`t cover the repair, this is a $400.00+ repair. This warranty is not worth the paper written on.

    Outrageous prices. Check the prices on sites like **. Most buyers pay almost twice the price they should. Trade in value is a fraction of what you paid for the vehicle. Interest rates are also outrageous. They take advantage of the people who need the vehicles the most. This is not the place to purchase a vehicle. Their repossession rate is off the scale. Their inventories are mostly high mileage high mileage vehicles. If you traded the vehicle in a week after you purchase this you would lose over 85% of its value of what you paid. Don't waste your time and money and money. Most people end up with worse credit than when they started with these people.

    Do not buy a car from these people. They are a rip off. I am buying one from them now. When I got the contract they told me it was monthly payments. When I finished, got home, I find out it's every two weeks and the payments went up from what they told me they would be. Also there's all kinds of hidden damage and stuff on the car. They also told me there was no recalls and there is recalls on my car and my daughter's car she got. This place is a sham. They don't honor their word. They lie and I'm telling you from a verified person who is purchasing a vehicle walk away while you can or you're going to get screwed also. They charge you a really freaking high interest rate.     Updated on 11/17/2024: Have had car 14 days. Stopped to get gas again, it won't crank, when it did turn over it just kept spinning and finally quit when I put it in drive. It started jerking real bad and I just had to wait till it stopped to drive, I have to take Tuesday off cause they won't cover a rental car when I drop it off at garage, please don't buy a car from Drivetime. 23 percent interest.

    Original Review: I was sold a 2017 Chevy Sonic for 28,000 dollars, yes 28,000, put gas in twice and the car wouldn't crank, day 6 engine light came on, went to dealership in Columbia SC and they said they couldn't do anything about it, it was my problem. Call warranty people, they were very rude to me, took a friend back to talk, she found a car same price and asked if they could put me in that car and just do a exchange, they didn't even consider it. Nope! The ignition has glue all over it where it was glued back in, one speaker is busted, they kept me in dealership 6hrs, 3 I was standing up, every time I get in this car I get sick thinking they did this to and don't even care at all. This world as gone to crap.

    Went to Lombard location based on being a previous paid in full customer and now eligible to upgrade, NO MONEY DOWN.... I was shown quite a few cars and the one I chose, was told I had to put $1700 down, really.... I thought I could get it with no money down? The guy said sorry not this one....     Updated on 01/30/2025: The fact that I purchased a vehicle with a bad motor and had to write about the company should tell you to stay away. They are liars, no reimbursement just hot air. In Oct I purchased a 18 Ford Escape. Within 20 days it died. Towed to Firestone in which they stated new motor need, I then dealt with Drivetime's crooked employee after sending receipts and documents to show the business practices of non disclosure of the vehicle condition, to get a letter for reimbursement, guess what guys no more contact from them. Just lies and ignores.

    Original review: In October I purchased a vehicle from the Arizona Ave location in Chandler. Needless to say the vehicle motor needs replaced after 30 days. I've called Drivetime to be told that Silverrock probably won't pay for replacement or repairs even though it's at the 30 days. They should have know they were selling me a vehicle that had recall on motor issues and in fact told me that there were no issues it was checked out. Hard to believe if vehicle only lasted 30 days.

    I went to the Modesto Location and Monte was the one who helped us and he was suppose to reserve a car for us in the Fresno one. He called them and everything and asked for it.     Fraud. People, be very careful with Drivetime dealerships. My wife and I was looking to purchase another car because we needed something larger for family. We went to the drivetime website and we saw a car. We went through the drivetime "experience." With the real down payment, real monthly payment quote on the advertising. That was the first experience that was negative to me was because when I brought it up, the fact that the advertisement was false concerning the real down payment, real monthly payment it quickly changed.

    Number two was the finance company that they tried to finance me through literally was trying to charge me more to finance the car than the car itself so the charge with his car literally doubled at the end of the financing. To top it off after 20 days, the car broke down. There was a busted radiator, and after talking to the mechanic, he was explaining to me that someone was putting regular tap water inside inside the radiator with the coolant, the coolant cook the antifreeze and overheated, cracking the radiator, leaving my family stranded on the freeway.

    In contacting drivetime and everybody affiliated with financing this car I had to pay for my own toll, I had to pay for a Uber for my family because they would not provide transportation. And as I was trying to discuss the situation with different members of the drivetime team, Bridgecrest financing they all were over talking and double talking talking in circles. No one would address the car straight out as it was. I literally had the car for 20 days and it broke down and had my family stranded. One of the representatives literally told me when I asked her this question, Do you honestly believe that I should continue paying for a car after 20 days it breaks down, I should continue with the purchase of this car? I was told that if that is the finance package that I signed, then yes. This has been the worst car buying experience that I've ever had in my life.

Manager Bo kept pressuring me to buy insurance which I purchased, then wanted to run credit again. I told her, "You guys are doing this all backwards." Then she claimed the computer was asking for 7000 down but they would take 5000. Her and a ** girl. I told both of them that I'm not putting that much down on a 15000 car. I spoke with the ins guy tonight and he said she did not call him about my refund. I feel they are running games and I am notifying corporate and the BBB.     My initial experience with DriveTime was great! We had an amazing salesman, we found the car we wanted (2019 Ford Explorer) and it was all within our budget. We did mention some small things we noticed on the car and they said everything would be covered within that 30 day window as long as we took it to authorized repair facility. Cool, was happy with taking the vehicle somewhere to do small repairs; as I know, not all used vehicles are perfect.

    We found a repair shop that worked with SilverRock (the warranty company DriveTime uses) and they looked over our car top to bottom. Come to find out the transmission had been replaced by DriveTime only 100 miles prior to us purchasing the vehicle, and DriveTime failed to mention that it had a major repair done. On top of all that, the repair shop was able to see that the new transmission was already failing and it was due to DriveTime not adequately replacing it the first time. The Repair shop told us they have to wait for approvals from SilverRock to start any work, fine. That took a few days, then it came back as not approved.

    The shop resent new information and then SilverRock approved the replacement. As if that process didn’t suck enough, the transmission was going to take a week to come in and needed several other repairs too. My car has been in the shop since I purchased it and if I had been warned about the condition the vehicle had really been in, I probably would have moved on to a different car. The “background” they give you on your car is NOT all there. Do yourself a favor and pay for the 40 dollar CarFax. I won’t ever buy from DriveTime again. I’m going to be paying on a car I have yet to enjoy.

    Staff were friendly & worked to get me in the vehicle I wanted, especially Dante who went above & beyond to resolve down payment amount discrepancy & “accepted” verifiable income! I will say from the banking side (Bridgecrest) - it was absolutely ridiculous that $80 in verifiable income was the difference between a $300 down payment & a $900 down payment; I had $4320 of “accepted” verifiable income & needed $4400 to drop the down payment from $900 to $300?! That math ain’t mathing!

    And I had much more verifiable monthly income that just wasn’t accepted, but there was enough there that that $80 should not have been enough to keep a deal from being done & keep Dante from completing a sale that he worked for & earned! That hard line for $80 that was clearly covered by documents that you would not consider tells me you really don’t care about the DriveTime salespeople, general managers, or customers! I bought the car (& paid the bigger down payment) because Drivetime & Dante earned the business despite the fact Bridgecrest didn’t, & since that $80 was enough for you to justify not bending/moving to make a deal, trust me when I tell you that same $80 will be enough to keep me from ever bending to do another deal with Bridgecrest!

    No coolant, window didn't roll down, GM was bare feet behind her desk, GM had her dog in the store yelping, made me sign paperwork 4 times. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE.     So far I've paid over 1300 in repairs, that I was told would be covered under there added bumper to bumper warranty and yet nothing has been covered. I feel they played on my need for a car and I've haven't bought 1 since 1983 so it's a shame I allowed them to take advantage of me. When I called to ask to trade it in I was told the trade in value was too high and, "Sorry. Best of luck." What kind of attitude is that.
