I had gone in there with a list of vehicles it said my location had available, not twenty minutes after looking up the availability of these vehicles. After sitting down with a very nice man, and explaining what I wanted and what I didn't want, we went out to look at cars. I told him I didn't like Ford or GMC, I wanted a Honda, especially, or a Toyota. I wanted a compact, not a SUV. First two casts he shows me are Ford SUVs, 'because he knows I like camping.' I politely, again, let him know, I didn't want an SUV, I wanted a compact, And A Honda or Toyota.
So he shows me a Chrysler. I say maybe, and again say a Toyota or Honda, from my list of eight cars, which are well within my budget. He shows me one Toyota with a high mileage on it and continues to try to sell me on the Chrysler. When I ask to see several Jonas on the lot, each one I point out 'is spoken for.' I felt very pushed toward the Chrysler, which I bought, Because I needed a car that day. And I already spent four hours with them and needed to get to work.
I didn't feel like I had much of a choice in what I was buying. Because anything I wanted that was within my budget was repeatedly spoken for. Otherwise, the men were very nice and very helpful. Had I not been in a rush to get a car that day, I probably would have walked off the lot, for feeling I wasn't being heard, and manipulated into my purchase. No matter how polite and friendly they were.

First of all, I went into the shop not trying to buy a car but to see what selection of vehicle they had. When I was greeted at the door they acted as if I was royalty escorting me to a waiting area for about 1 hr wait time. Now about that wait time - the whole sale only took 6 hr to complete. The rates are high. Your first payment is due on your next payday (for me that was in 6 days), but they didn't make me pay a down payment though :P and most importantly, I drove off their lot with a great car which KBB’d at around 13000. At the end of this purchase I'll pay right under 25000 for it. Now that's a steal! But all joking aside they got me in to a car that I could afford. I got one that same day and I pay an additional 7000 for options that I didn't know were optional. So at the end of the day I was raped with no lube. But you learn something new every day. Trust none, get everything in writing, and if all possible save up enough money to buy a used car instead.

This is the third vehicle we have purchased from DriveTime and we will continue to purchase any future vehicles from there as well. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Mack and Robin at the Houston I-45 office took extra special care of us and made sure we were comfortable as well as informed at what stage of the process we were in. Robin explained everything the contract with us in terms that were clear to understand. We were very happy with our time spent in the office.

I could not be more happy than I am with this transaction. I got a call from Pete at DriveTime and he told me about a pickup that was exactly what I was looking for. I went to the location and fell in love with the pickup. There was no high pressure used to get me into this new vehicle. Within about 3 hours I was driving my new vehicle. I thank Pete, Jennifer and all of the DriveTime team for working with me so fast.

I was very well taken care of. Your people are great. After buying the car and calling with what I consider a very serious problem the follow up was very bad, as a matter of fact I talk to a manager. He never called me back then the next day I left a message for Ronnie and he never called me back. I have been in sales for thirty five year and one thing I have learned is not the sale that gets you referrals, it's the follow up if the customer has a problem. I think you should teach them that. Okay now my problem they only gave me a valet key, not the original. Every time I get in the car the alarm sounds off and after reading the Manual the key is needed to operate all function of the remote less start that you advertised online. I believe you need to buy me a key and ship it to me my p.o. box**. Thank you for your help on this matter.

I had a great experience at the Brook Park location. Erin was a great rep. for helping find a nice roomy car for me and my children. I love my 06 HHR. It was a little frustrating at first because they sold the first HHR I test drove. But with the help of the DriveTime team, one came in the night before I purchase my vehicle. Also Isaac was also a great help with my DriveTime experience they all were great even Samantha was part of the great experience. I would recommend anybody to DriveTime because they are here to help you not just sell you a car. They will figure out everything they can do for you to be able to get you into a vehicle. From the time I called to advise my car was totaled that I had previously purchased from DriveTime, Stephen did everything he could to help me get into the same or close to the same vehicle I had. There was no pressure to buy anything I didn't like or want. He made it happen. I look forward into sending as much business as I can and hope that the future customers have the same treatment I had. There is nothing like paying on a car you love and look forward to a long business relationship with this dealer no matter what my credit situation is 3 years from today. Thank you for all your help, as I could have still been paying for the rental car my insurance gave me when I totaled my car.

I had a wonderful experience. From the moment I met Jamarcus, my sales rep to the end signing paperwork with Craig it all felt very comfortable. Previous experiences with dealerships made it difficult to purchase from one again, but as soon as I arrived I was greeted within entering inside by sales rep. He was honest and gave me all the information without hesitation. My fiance was not there the first day which I am kind of glad because when I went home I looked over Drivetime.com and found the SUV we wanted for years. I called Jamarcus and he was able to get the vehicle over to his dealership without any delay the following day. We were a bit late for our appointment but Jamarcus was friendly and respectful. We then signed paperwork with Craig and he was very knowledgeable and friendly as well. We are happy that we came to Drivetime and got the vehicle we chose. I was told about Drive Time by a friend but I still didn't want to be bothered and hounded by salespeople just to be told no in the end. My experience with Shane at Drive Time was totally different than I expected. He is a great salesperson very informative and not pushy. Our used 2006 Mercedes Benz 350 E purchase from DriveTime in Orange Park, Florida - the time you get there to leave you are treated just like if they was going to buy it and besides this happen to be our 2nd Car we purchased from them. They have to be doing something right for us to be back again and as you can see it was just as good as the first time. You cannot go wrong with any DriveTime. 5 -Stars to Orange Park team.

I purchased a vehicle from Drive Time. Within 1 week of having it, it began having problems. It went into the shop to be repaired. First it was the transmission. Ok so it was getting fixed. I made my first 3 payments while it was in the shop. After a month, I was told after a new transmission had been installed, the computer had went out... great! After lots of calls and being transferred around, I finally was told it would be best to be put into another vehicle. Well needless to say, I got another one, but did not get anything close to what I first purchased but whatever. I had came to terms with it and decided to leave it be, then I get a call today that my rental had not been paid for!!!
I am so very angry and out of emotion for this place!! I will not ever purchase another vehicle from here nor refer anyone to this place. I was told that the money I paid on the first vehicle could not be transferred to the new vehicle as it was "usage" fees that would go towards the rental... So why is the rental not paid for and now coming back on me? The staff made me feel as if this was my fault. They should not be allowed to sell these types of vehicles for the price they sell them for and get away with treating people in this manner. And the sad thing is, you cannot even talk to someone at the dealership or someone who runs the company. You have to call Customer Relations in another State for everything. Wish I had known all this beforehand.

My experience with DriveTime was exceptional. From the moment I walked in I felt very comfortable and taken care of. I worked with Samantha ** and she was amazingly friendly. It was like I was buying a car from a friend. She made things easy and removed the stress that is typically associate with car buying. I was so surprised at how different it was to other places I'd been where things seem stern and tense. I have already recommended DriveTime to some of my friends who are in the market for a vehicle.

I went into Drivetime expecting to be denied or to be told that I don't qualify for a vehicle I like. I was wrong! The staff was great and made me feel at home. First I heard a lot of great things about DriveTime but my experience numbed those compliments about the company. First my transmission went out the day after I had gotten it. I gotten the 2005 Dodge ram on 08/23/2014 and just picked it up from repairs on 09/11/2014. I was only granted a rental car for 5 days and during the remaining almost 2 weeks, I struggled getting back and forth from work and school. I reached out to the store manager which wasn't a help at all. I reached out to customer relations who granted me the rental but it wasn't good enough in my book. I put $1100.00 down on a vehicle through the lease purchase program. My money was spent on a truck that I cant even drive.
So after I picked the truck up yesterday 09/11/2014, I went to work, truck driving perfect. As soon as I got off work at 10:30 pm, I was in route home, I felt a jerk after taking off at the stop light. It jerked off and on all the way home. This morning 09/12/2014 I put it in reverse, it wouldn't go into gear, then it finally did after the big jerk. Took it to the repair facility and called AVEREX.
They have my truck again and I'm stuck in the mud again. No way to work nor school, customer relations stated they do not rent vehicle for lease purchases and they can pro rate the days I'm left without a vehicle. They will not give me the number or address to their Corp. I'm being punished for something that's not my fault. I felt like I'm am not being treated fair as a customer to put all my money into a so called dependable 128 point inspected vehicle to depend on and transmission went out. I thought I was getting the best service ever but I'm back looking for a ride to and from. Never again DriveTime! MS has a strict lemon law policy.

This has been by far my worst vehicle purchase ever. It is my own fault for not following customary practice and taking a mechanic to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase... however I trusted in the "Multi Point Vehicle Inspection" and the fact the vehicle is under warranty. I have had several significant repairs within the first year of ownership and the warranty process is completely useless. In fact the car left me stranded just two days after purchase due to faulty battery terminal wires. In order to meet the minimum deduction of $100 for a repair, you have to stay within network... Well there are only three centers within a reasonable distance from me... the staff at one facility is extremely rude... and plan on taking off from work with no weekend availability.
If you select the option of going outside of network, then your deductible is $200 which for my repairs was almost the cost of for each incident... so it wasn't worth filing a claim. A lot of the basic maintenance on the car was not completed/inspected by Drive Time prior to purchase... The mechanic who did my first initial tune up commented that the plugs were of the cheapest quality and most likely at least several years old based on the poor condition. The brakes had to be replaced on all four wheels within two months... a new battery and belts shortly thereafter... tires were bald at about 6 months... etc. Oh and here is another note of caution... the AC did not work prior to purchase... The sales person committed to have that fixed before delivery...
It started blowing hot about a day after leaving the lot. The temps were a little cooler with Fall so it was bearable... and the sales person told me that was covered without the deductible for the first year as it was reported prior to purchase. I had to wait a few months based on my travel schedule and availability at the shop... Well I still had to pay the deductible for work they promised to repair before I committed to buy. So maybe when a big repair like a transmission comes along, there is a sense of relief of not having to pay for the entire job... or I'll see. But currently the warranty that was included in my high priced vehicle with the extreme interest does not justify the additional expense.

My neighbor and I went to DriveTime last week to buy a car. She picked out a car with 95k. It is due at 90k. I asked if the timing belt had been replaced. They said they did not have records on the cars they were selling. I waited till the next day and was told that if I am not the owner I cannot get such information. I asked several people and was told the same thing. I was told to call Aeverex their warranty provider and they said that unless it broke and they fixed it they had no records.
I told them she is 68 years old and does not need to be in a car with a timing belt that is going to break at any time... even if the warranty covers the damage. It does not cover the inconvenience, nor does it prevent damage to the car... which will be great if it breaks. They REFUSE to give corporate number to ask questions or to voice concerns. She likes the car and knows she is paying too much for it, but is okay with that. Sad that my referral had me treated like a common identity thief and that they do not seem to be concerned about the welfare of their customers. I am sad I referred her to a company that would rather have the customer break down rather than do preventive care.

I went to the Pershall location first. Service there was not as great and still having issues from what took place there. However, the Lindbergh location is a lot better with better choice in cars. I could not get financed without a cosigner without a crazy down payment and DriveTime made it possible for me to get a decent car. The interest is crazy and so are the payments, but it is the price one has to pay to fix his or her credit. Hopefully, I can refinance soon. Just make sure to pick a reliable vehicle... maybe the ones used as fleet and have a reputation for being long lived. I got an '09 Corolla with less than 100,000 miles. Keep up with payments and make sure to set aside because the cars are used... most high mileage and something will likely happen. The warranty should help a lot.

The process was easy but long. I would have liked them to go over the numbers better. The car should have been detailed when I took possession. I had to take it and have it detailed and buy floor mats.

I had a good experience. They just need to have a better system when they transfer cars from one Location to another. I was supposed to get a car from the Conyers Location. They brought it to the Duluth location for me and I got there at 5:30 on a Friday evening and they didn't know they brought the wrong car. So I had to sit there for 3 hours to wait for the right car to come.

So i have received calls from drivetime telling me i have been approved for an upgrade, so I've decided to go online and there inventory. Well I live in austin tx and found a car that i like in Dallas TX. Well went i called both dealers here in austin tx all they told me is they do not transfer vehicles because it's too far. I went online and saw their drivetime blog of most frequently asked questions and there website one of the questions is If they transfer vehicle and the answer is yes as longest it's from the same state. So now I've both dealers to let them know what's on the website and they have no clue it's on there and they still are giving me the run around telling me they're not able to do it because it will cost them too much money to transfer. So I'm done with drivetime. Love the first vehicle I got from them but if this is how they're going to treat one of their customer, I will not going to buy another vehicle from them or even refer my of my friends and family.

Well after two week I discovered some problem with the car:
2. Need tires.
3. AC need a charge.
4. Power steering is leaking. I have spot in my driveway.
5. Need a muffler, fixed now.

Since I bought this car in February I have had nothing but lies and excuses. This car has had a new transmission, an alternator, a serpentine belt and tensioner, a tire wheel, two new tires, ball bearings and now the catalytic converters are out. At the cost of 1100,00 dollars. Not to mention losing a month of work cause of constant breakdowns I have all ready had to walk over 40 miles home cause of these breakdowns. Consumer relations is a joke. The warranty is useless.

Everything was not explained well before all the paper work was signed but I was in a need of a vehicle so I went with the flow. Now as of yesterday the engine light came on, ac not working well and the front wheels shake and to top it off I’m without a vehicle. Not what I was expecting for a first customer!!!!

Would not like to post the many problems I have had since purchasing this 2011 model car except me & my grand kids could have been killed driving a vehicle I have purchased from Drive Time. They tell me to call averex. They will tell you they are sorry you are stuck on side of mtn in a car that said power steering failure!!! Duh!!! But got to pay $100 to be diagnosed. Please don't tell me you done me a favor with your financing because from my experience so far no problems I have had with car not going over 80 miles per hour has not been taken care of. Some things don't have to be diagnosed!!! Common sense!!! This is just the beginning but want to try one more time to get my issues resolved!!! Before!!! This is unbelievable. A nightmare!!! Will find out what happens.

This company lies, after over 2 years of paying for my 2008 Scion XD, I'm still over 11,000 on the car. I find myself wishing for someone to run into me and total the vehicle out just so that I can be done with this stupid car. I have not had any repair issues, unless you count the fact that each tire costs 250 before installation but that is not DriveTime's fault. What is their fault is preying on people with bad credit. I cannot refinance my vehicle or trade it in b/c no one will touch it. I can get approved for a new car loan, but only if I don't trade in my vehicle... NO ONE WILL TOUCH IT!
I'm moving soon to a place where I will need 4-wheel drive in the winters and can get approved for the new vehicle but only if I don't trade in my Scion! In over 2 years, I've only touched 2000 of the principle balance and I put down 1000 at signing! The interest rate is ridiculously high and I was told they reported to all 3 credit bureaus and I find out that they are only reporting to 1, so what does that mean you might ask? My credit is not improving even though I have never been late on my payments.
I am going to be doing a voluntary repo on the vehicle and will take the hit on my credit, as I can get a new car and pay less in interest than I owe on this one. I HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! Lenders are more willing to work with people with credit issues today more than in the past. I have also hired a lawyer and have been recommended that I put a civil suit on this company for their lies about credit reporting. If they give me any difficulty on my voluntary repo, I will sue them for everything I've paid plus what I owe as they have not held up their end of the bargain so why should I hold up mine. My lawyer says that I would be about his tenth suit against this company and he wishes they would quit selling cars in this state.

Drive Time financed me a car with multiple issues. I purchased the car on June 7, 2014, which was a Saturday. On Sundays they are closed. I noticed a knocking in the wheel on Sunday when I drove the car. I called (KD the salesman) Drive Time on Monday morning; my adult daughter and I took the car back on the third day (Monday). KD drove the car and said that the car just needed a tire balance which was an out of pocket expense for me. Although, I took the car back within the five days return and no questions asked; Drive Time did not take the car back.
An additional issue with the Chrysler 200 (2012) is the car had a Recall that was not mention. Another issue, the entire front end of the car was put back together with glue, screws missing, clips missing, shields and other parts from an apparent accident. A third issue, the Shift Pan needed replacing. A fourth issue, the car had knocking noises. These are just to mention a few issues. I tried to get Drive Time to fix the car properly and/or switch the car. Having so many major issues with the car, Chrysler Car Dealership called and said, "you need to go take this car back to Drive Time to see if they will trade it out because, the car has too many issues".
I called Drive Time thinking the big company they are that they would do the right thing; however to my disappointment, I was told that they are not going to take the car back. An even bigger issue is I sent text messages as a method of communication. Although, I was told that I would receive a call back, a text message was sent instead per Drive Time (Megan). At the time and still to this day, I have issues with receiving text messages. How unprofessional to send out text messages when there is no guarantee that a customer received it. Because, I had so many issues with the car and although, I requested to change the car out, Drive Time refuse to do the honorable thing. The car was not reliable therefore, I could not get around like I should have been able to.

The experience overall was very simple. They offered me high rates, but that's more my fault. They got me approved when no one else could. Now for the sales associate, they were all friendly except one person. Don't recall her name because quite frankly did not care. She was very short, rude and has no people skills what so ever. It was about 100 out and she turned the a/c off in the car I was test driving because she thought it was too loud. No offense but I want to be the one to play with the controls and adjust the comfort level. She was very disrespectful and impatient. She tried correcting me on multiple things about the vehicle, that I had already researched. I am active duty, so I don't expect better treatment. But I also wasn't expecting a disrespectful attitude when asked questions about my pay and anything with my military status. If you don't know then just ask nicely, not with an attitude. Only gave 3 stars because of this one sales associate. Other than that I was very satisfied.

Two hours after delivery of the vehicle the check engine light lit and stayed on. After stopping at a mechanic the diagnostic code was retrieved and it was found that the condition has existed for some time and someone at Drivetime (Miamisburg, Ohio) turned off the check engine light so that it would not appear until after delivery of the vehicle. I must now schedule additional warranty service after only two hours after delivery.
Also, the day of delivery I expressed to the staff that I had a deadline and had to leave no later than 12:20 pm. Tyler, a staff member of Drivetime, left for lunch soon after being told this. I was late for work and almost lost my job. Unacceptable!

I wanted to highly recommend Matt (manager), Kevin (salesperson) and Covey (managed the contracts). They went above and beyond in the sale of my new Ford F150. I was in a huge time restraint to get a new truck and they did whatever they could. This transaction took place in three states. Buying the truck in Ohio, trading in my old truck in Arizona and having the co-signer sign the documents in California. I definitely had my doubts that they could pull it off within my time limits but sure enough they did!! Not to mention our 11-month=old daughter became fast friends with Matt, especially after he shared his donuts with her. :) I hope they get the recognition they deserve for this transaction and will recommend DriveTime to anyone I know looking for a new vehicle!

I got a car from DriveTime because of my credit. Was ok with the payments. What I am not ok with is the car being in the shop for over a month. I have only gotten to drive it for three days. Just got it back from the shop for the second time and still having the same issues. Called DriveTime - no help. They said my only options were to take it back to the shop or I can return the car and lose a vehicle and what I've paid so far and I can't buy another car from them for at least a year. Since I don't feel like paying for a car I can't drive I guess I will just take my losses and give the car back. It's a shame that they will lose a potential good customer over this. I will never refer them to anyone.

My wife and I made two appointments for Saturday afternoon, 1:15 at Drivetime and 3:00 at J.D. Byrider. We drove into DriveTime in a J.D. Byrider financed vehicle that we still owed $913 on it and didn't know if DriveTime would be able to help us. So that's why we also had an appointment with JD Byrider. We arrived at DriveTime knowing which vehicles we wanted to see because they were all posted online with pics, prices, mileage, features, vehicle history reports, etc. Although we planned on going to JD Byrider at 3 pm if necessary, we had no idea of what was on their lot because they didn't put their inventory online. At DriveTime we were greeted by Josie holding the door open for us with a smile. She took us to her desk and we were very quickly approved for a car. Before heading out I did a google search of the trade-in value of my old car, it came up $2770. DriveTime paid off the $913 I owed and credited me with a $3,100 down payment on top of that!
We looked at several vehicles and test drove our two favorites choosing a late model SUV with four-wheel-drive that met our rural living needs. The only complication of the day is that DriveTime needed to get what's called a 'ten day payoff' from JD Byrider to pay off our trade-in. But when JD Byrider was called they couldn't find me in their system although I was still making online payments and had an account number. It turns out the JD Byrider dealership I had got my old car from had went out of business (I had no idea) and their finance company, CNAC was transitioning that location's customers to another financier. I was lost in their system. DriveTime persisted calling about a dozen different JD Byrider/CNAC numbers in all being told that I didn't exist before they finally found someone who could find me and help them. During this process Paul from JD Byrider called me about my 3 pm appointment and I had the pleasure of telling them that I just purchased a vehicle from DriveTime.
In closing, we also got a five year warranty covering our engine, (4wd) drivetrain, transmission and air. If anything goes wrong all we have to do is pay a $100 deductible and they'll even provide a rental car. We were told of a referral program that will net us some big money when we tell our friends about our great experience at DriveTime and something that really impressed me is that when we get down to owing $4500, we can bring our vehicle in and they will 'forgive and forget' the entire balance if we buy another vehicle from them. With that kind of deal I expect to be driving DriveTime vehicles for the rest of my life. Phenomenal Experience!

My experience was awful. The workers at this location were rude. I only went to this location because of the variety of cars, otherwise I would of went back to the location in South County. This will be the last car we get through DriveTime. And that is saying something because I have referred over 10 people to the South County location. And this time around I've already had to pay 800 for repairs and I've had the car less than 4 days. I thought DriveTime was about having quality cars when I get into the car not having to put money in the car because all four shocks were so rotted I had to replace them - so it was safe for my 11 month old to be in the vehicle.

My husband got his 2012 Altima, had a issue with transmission but they got us a rental and fix our car, no hassle. The reps at Riverside dealer were very nice, welcoming, and got me the car I wanted. I have been among the bottom feeders of the used care sales world. Interest rates too high, prices of cars too high, questionable maintenance and quality control, and just overall shady!

From the time we walked in till we left with our car, we were treated with respect. My favorite part of the experience was when we went through the mechanical checklist for the car. When I went into the Wyoming location, my experience started out good. Lara assisted me in looking at cars and suggesting test drives. We ended up needing to go look at a car at another location because the car I liked had mechanical issue, so she drove me down to your central location. When we got there, I ended up liking a different car than the one we went to go see. This is when my experience went downhill. She made me feel like she was pulling me away from the car I wanted. I asked to see the inside of the car and she couldn't find the keys so she said she went to go ask for the keys to it.
As I was waiting, I was looking at the outside of the vehicle. When I looked up after I noticed she had been gone for a while, I saw her texting on her cell phone, leaning against other cars. When she saw I saw her, she said "Well if you don't see anything you like, we should go." To which I replied that I had found something I liked and she was supposed to be getting the keys for it. She then went inside. As it turns out, the car I wanted was not ready to go. I found out from Seth, the manager of that location. But Lara still tried to push this other car on me to which I said I wanted to wait for the car that was not ready.
On the drive back, she was speeding and on the phone and putting me on edge. It was still an hour and like 10 min before the lot was closing up. I ended up buying the car I waited for from Nichole at the central location whom I loved doing business with! Seth, Nichole and Sarah, as well as the lot attendant that helped clean the car, were all amazing and cared more about me instead of making the sale and put priority in making sure I got what I wanted. They put a courtesy hold on my car to make sure no one else took it when Lara had said there was no way to put a hold on a car. In the process of going over paperwork, Nichole found out that Lara had inputted my income information wrong and had told me a bunch of incorrect information. Overall, very unhappy with Wyoming location.

I went to drivetime when I had nowhere left to turn. My credit was shot due to previous car deal that left me owing over 5000 on a car that didn't run past the 1st day. Drivetime pre-approved me immediately but when I got there I was told my credit was too poor that id have to put $4000 down and there was only one car I could get with that! A pt cruiser with a lot of miles! Over 150000! I left disappointed! They were very nice though.

I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised with my recent experience at DriveTime. Here are just a few things that will probably surprise you. I went in with a budget. I told Nicole and John what I had allotted for a down payment and what my monthly budget would be. They found me a list of cars that would fit that criteria and I got to choose!...They did not try to push me into what I could not afford and all choices were nice! Once I picked my new car, they allowed me to place a very small holding payment to hold my car until I received the rest of my funds the following week. The following week, I go in and everything they said it would be was! No hidden costs added, absolutely nothing more than what I was told I would pay! I will never refer anyone looking for a reliable beautiful car to anywhere but DriveTime!

My salespeople were really nice and worked really hard to get me approved. I have had my mini van for 2 years now and have found out how many lies I was told in that initial visit. I was told that I would receive a $200 gas card upon making my first payment. Never received it (and yes, I did call several times about it). I was told that I would receive a $200 referral fee if I referred someone who purchased a vehicle. I referred my sister who did purchase one and I got nothing even though she filled out what she needed to for me to get it. I was told that my warranty would last 2 years, it wasn't available after 18 months.
I was told that I could trade up in 1 year to a better vehicle. I came in 2 years later and I haven't paid the balance down enough and they want more money in order to take my trade. Because the vehicle was priced so much higher than it was worth, I can't trade it in anywhere else because even after 2 years I owe too much. This company has done nothing but lie about pretty much anything. Their mechanics could never find anything wrong, even though the engine sputters and the check engine light has been on since the day after I bought it. DO NOT BUY from this company if you can help it. I have posted on facebook and am having everyone share my experience and I plan to put in a complaint with the BBB.

My credit was less than perfect, and although several dealerships offer help with financing, DriveTime was truly a fast and pleasant surprise for the whole process. The online application was easy and user friendly. I was able to identify which vehicles I was interested in before I arrived on site. When I met Jared, he took less than an hour to confirm my financing approval with LESS down payment than I anticipated AND less than other financing offers I had received. I was able to test drive the two cars I liked and had the payment details with 15 mins. I was able to put money down to hold the vehicle I wanted until I could pay the rest of the down payment within a couple of weeks.
The following week I checked online and found a different car I liked better. I called Jared and he called me back within the hour to confirm the switch to the other car. He called me a few days later to let me know the new car had been delivered to my local DriveTime location. A few days later, I went into the office, signed paperwork and drove away a very satisfied customer. I had two other dealerships that I originally wanted to visit to compare to DriveTime, but in my initial visit with Jared, I told him that everything went so smoothly that I decided NOT to go anywhere else. I will definitely recommend DriveTime to friends and family when in the market for a new car.
I also have to mention that the warranty I purchased was impressive with everything it covers. Also, the option to add more money to the down payment to lower my interest rate/payment was an added bonus. Everyone I dealt with at the office was extremely professional and friendly. A GREAT experience!

To be completely honest, I was still happy with my first car that I purchased through DriveTime about 3 years ago. I saw that I was coming close to the $4,500.00 mark, so I decided to call and see how the CHAMP program worked. I was assisted on the phone by Nick (who helped me later on in this review), and he explained how everything worked and set up an appointment for me to come down. The next day, I went to the dealership and was assisted by Brandon. He showed me a few cars, and I ended up really liking a 2012 Ford Fiesta.
When it came time to crunch some numbers, Mike (the sales manager) came over and explained to me how much I got for the trade. He also explained that even though the new car was zero down, my negative equity still held some payment due. Unfortunately, I was not prepared to pay anything as I was really just looking at my options, so he went to run more numbers, but the system went down. After being there for 3 hours, they regretfully asked if there was any way I could come back the following day. I said I could, and we met the next evening.
I was met by Elena as I walked in, and she said that she would be helping me. After going over my file from the day before, Mike was able to make the calls he needed and after nearly 3 hours, we were able to close the deal for absolute zero down! I was elated. I really liked this car, and was so happy to get into it. After leaving the lot, we went for a spin. However, when we parked and went to get some things out of the backseat, we noticed that the rear passenger door would not close. We had to tie it closed with a scarf and hope that it wouldn't open while driving. It was a very scary experience.
I called DriveTime the following morning and explained the situation. They advised to call Averex to get the door repaired. So I did, and took the car to my local in network mechanic. When the mechanic called back, they were advised that the part was on national back order for about three weeks, and there really was not a way to fix it, other than tying it back up. I did not feel safe driving the car, so I called back to DriveTime and was advised to come back town to the dealership. I left work early, and met again with Elena and Mike. They could obviously tell I was very frustrated and upset, and made every measure to correct the issue.
Mike said that we could try and see if he could get me into another vehicle, or I could have my old car back. I decided to look around and see if there were any other cars that I liked on the lot. Nick (whom I mentioned above) took a look at all of the different cars that would fit my price range, and assisted me with test driving a 2006 Volkswagen Passat. He was very nice and really lifted my mood by cracking jokes, and just being an all around genuine person. After the test drive, I decided that I really liked the Passat.
Mike and Elena got to work and started crunching numbers and making phone calls. Elena checked in with me often to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. She is such an asset to their team, and I am so happy that she was there to help me. Almost 5 and a half hours later, Mike was able to work through some glitch in the system, and got me back on the road in my new car, and offered me a full tank of gas for all of the trouble I had gone through.
With almost 11 hours spent back and forth at this dealership, it is STILL the most pleasant experience I have had. The team took ownership of the issue that I had, and corrected the situation as fast as they possibly could for me. I can't thank all of them enough for all of the hard work they put into getting me into a new car... especially on a "free" upgrade. DriveTime is my go to, and I am so happy that they have such a FANTASTIC team.

Purchase car from Drive Time. Within one hour I had problems with the car. I've only had the car for 35 days and have been to the shop 4 times. I have already spent more than my payment in repairs. Sales people were very nice but who isn't when they are working in commission. The warranty company just informed me that only 6 mechanical items are covered but Drive Time lead me to believe it was all covered. I have had problems with the battery / water in truck / wheel bearing and transmission leak. Why would you sell me a piece of junk for the price of a new car? I leased a car from DriveTime. I had it three days and was in the shop. It's been a week, it was a shop again - a total of three times within two weeks of owning the car are leasing the car was in the shop they were really trying to keep me happy and every time I went to the shop I wasn't charged any money. We got the first problem fixed but now there's another problem. The leasing department is telling me that I have to file a claim and pay a deductible to find out what's wrong with it.
I don't even want this car anymore and I told him that it's been a problem since day one and I just want another car. But they won't do anything unless I file a claim and pay a deductible and I won't do that. It's obvious that this car is a piece of junk. So they told me to just bring it back to the lot - drop it off. So that's what I'm going to do and I'm going somewhere else to get a vehicle because of this whole experience. I’m going to bang on them every chance I get. I’m a business owner and that's just bad business.

Car is overpriced. Interest rate is VERY high. Was told by the Manager if I didn't agree to purchase the extended warranty, GPS, & gap insurance that I would have to put $1000.00 down to get a vehicle. I was desperate and needed a vehicle. I feel like this company scammed me due to my low credit rating. Disgusted and will NEVER recommend Drive Time to anyone! My salesman was very nice and a great person.

This is the second vehicle I have purchased from DriveTime, and my experience was absolutely great. I was a little short of being eligible for their DT Champ program, and fell in love with an upgrade while speaking with the staff members at the Arch Road location. Each of the folks I worked with, Michael, Cody, Laura and Terence relentlessly worked to get me in the upgrade AND at the price I was willing to pay. They went WAY above and beyond and I am fortunate to have my car and credit building needs taken care of so professionally.

Very happy with the car. The payment is insane but to be expected. Only complaints I have: The relentless phone calls between pre-approval and going to the dealership. Why get pre-approved if I have to repeat the process over again at the dealership? I was asked 6 times how I heard of Drivetime. Ridiculous. It took 4 hours. 3 of those were after I chose a car. I've never bought a car and had to wait around that long. Buying my house was faster.

I went to DriveTime to buy a safe vehicle for my 6-year old son and new born twins. I picked out what I thought was a nice van. When it was finally time to do the vehicle inspection, I noticed the locks weren't working. The only door that would unlock was the driver side. The van was taken to the back and I was told the problem was fixable but not till Monday or Tuesday. It was Friday afternoon and I had already got rid of my old car and I was now being told I had no vehicle for my kids and I till the following week. I was told I could pick another van but I didn't like any other van. I asked if I could bring the car back myself the following week so I could my kids and I around till then and was told no.
After almost an hour of going back and forth about the van, the salesman told me the locks were working and it must have been a minor malfunction. I drove the car home. When I took the car out later, the locks didn't work again! This is not safe when I have 3 kids I'm trying to get in and out of the car alone. A week later, my brakes began to grind and make an awful noise. I took the van to get looked at and was told I needed all new brakes and rotors and my tires were over 4 years old. My car was unsafe to drive! I was told by DriveTime I could fix the issues and submit proof and they would put my payment to the back of the loan. So it's up to me to fix things and you're only putting a payment to the back?!
I could only afford to fix the brakes so my tires are still bad. My air works when it wants to and I live in Vegas! It's hard to take my kids to doctor appointments in 115 degree weather with no air! The locks still don't work. This car is unsafe! I want a new van or all my $ back and give the van back! DriveTime lied about the make of the van too to make more money. They have it listed as a model better than the one I have and they know it! They take advantage of women who are desperate for a safe car for her and her kids! There are days when I drive the van I feel like it's just going to fall apart and I pray my kids aren't with me. Daily there's an issue with the van. I want a resolution. I've contacted my local news station regarding this issue because DriveTime doesn't care.

The lease department had our payments going to the wrong account number for many weeks (2 months to be exact). I had to call them to get it all straightened out because they were too incompetent to figure it out for themselves. Had me fax them proof that they were taking my payments automatically out of my account. The vehicle had issues before my 30-day warranty ran out. I called the lease warranty department about the issues and they fixed ONE problem, but then wanted to charge me $100 for each issue to take the vehicle to the different shops. Of course, I refused that.
Then, I get ONE payment behind... ONE PAYMENT - and they repo the vehicle. Okay, I'm done with the DRIVETIME issues. Nothing but issues. I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL. Once they repo'd the vehicle then one week later, I get yet another email that they are going to take another payment out of my bank account. I called the lease department AGAIN. They REFUSED to give me a WRITTEN Confirmation that the payment was cancelled, so now I must sit and wait to be sure this payment is not going to take place. This is UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE by far. DO NOT - I REPEAT - DO NOT do business with DRIVETIME. THEY ARE RIPOFFS!!!!

DriveTime has always been very accommodating with me. I have always walked in feeling in dire straits with major car breakdowns. And have always walked out or should I say I have driven out with a dependable vehicle to get me to work so I can support my family. I think it's great they offer such a long term warranty. They seem to cover every issue that a person can deal with trying to keep a vehicle on the road. Living in the Atlanta area, we put a lot of wear and tear on a vehicle and since nothing lasts forever, it's a nice feeling that there are options out there in case anything happens. He was so clear in explaining about DriveTime that it made me just want to come in to see what they could do for me in Conway. So my friend and I decided to give those guys a try. We are so happy we came to DriveTime! My husband and I have talked about getting a Toyota Camry but did not think we would be able to do one this soon. When our sales rep Antonius was showing the vehicles we qualified for, we both got super excited when he brought us to the Camry and at the same time we were like "this is the one"!
