    The website states $5.00 for up to 15 days late. They however do not say that in that 15 days it is also $7.50 a day. Was 11 days late and incurred $90. If I knew it would be so much, I would have found a way to get the money.

    I bought a car and within first day, it was in shop. By 3rd day, it was back in the shop and needed new engine and tranny. I wasn't happy how I was treated like it was my fault. They then proceeded to tell me they were not fixing my car; I was to go pick something else. It was not a good experience and I hope this don't happen again.

    We done the lay away program for 3 weeks. The vehicle we originally chose had a few what we thought were minor issues, so it was sent off to be fixed. Upon returning 3 weeks later, I called in advance to let them know we would be picking the vehicle up in a few days. The vehicle was still making a noise after a second test drive. Come to find out something was wrong with the engine. Due to personal reasons we had to choose another vehicle. Before I even made it home my change oil light came on, and the brakes squeak very loud. We spent the whole day there. 12 pm-9 pm. I still have to take the vehicle back to get the issues fixed.

    We purchased a 2006 Jeep grand Cherokee less than two months ago. The day before, we were in a horrible car accident while visiting family. Totaled our car. Friends told us to go through DriveTime. Says their warranty is solid. The sales team even told us if we had any issues to return it or they will cover the costs. Not even two months later, the rack and pinion was damaged from the transmission lines leaking (so the aeverex certified mechanic says). Guess what? DriveTime refuses to replace it. Wouldn't even work out a deal. I suggested skip several months payment. They said NOPE! I'm sure this company can cover the cost, skip several payments or at least put us in another car. $1100+ it's gonna cost us to fix. And NO ONE from DriveTime cares. I think we may just park it their front door and walk away. Way to cheat the hardworking American!

    Drivetime by far has the worst customer experience. I've had no problems or complaints to Drivetime so I haven't contacted them regarding anything whatsoever. I've had my car 7 months now and all I wanted to do was switch from bi weekly payments to monthly payment. Sounds simple, right? WRONG!!! I've been getting the run around for WEEKS. I have been calling Drivetime every single day for the past 2 weeks which is currently going on 3. I've been hung up on several times, lied to several times, and no one acts like they care that this has been a never ending process. The first week I was told by 3 people that all I had to do was call back to set up my automatic payments again for my new monthly payment. Sounds easy? Nope, called back and apparently I have to print out a modification request and send it back.

    At this point I was pissed but okay whatever let me get it over with. I submit my papers Wednesday 11/5 and the date on the papers clearly said it should be done by 11/7. I even called on 11/6 to verify that they had them. Their team had 11/5, 11/6 and 11/7 to "complete" the modification agreement (which I believe all they have to do is have someone sign it) but when I called back 11/7 right before the customer service closed, they said that the paperwork STILL was not done and that that team does not work on the weekends but everything should definitely be ready for Monday. Here comes Monday 11/10, I call back and they are still "pending" and I have to call back tomorrow, AGAIN. I call back later to check on the status and I get told that since they weren't doing their job and that this SHOULD'VE been finalized 11/7 that I'm ** and I have to restart and sign more papers and send them in again and wait for someone to actually do their job.

    At this point I am beyond frustrated and I can't take the run around game of ** but they tell me there's nothing that they can do and that I have to submit them again. So I submit them again of course. Call back to verify that they received them, which they did and I was told that everything should go smoothly. Call back 11/11 and now they tell me that there is no signature on the papers I sent. ARE YOU ** KIDDING ME??! I'm about to lose it with this company. So here I am, 11/12 at home, had to take off of work just to get this problem situated because I can't call them all day everyday while I'm at work which I have been doing for the past 3 weeks. By far the worst customer experience ever.

    Nov. 10, 2014 I received two email notifications for a 6:30 PM appointment at the Augusta GA location. Approximately one hour before the scheduled appointment, I received a phone call from the Augusta store confirming my appointment. My wife and I traveled from Aiken, SC to Augusta, arriving at 6:30 PM. We were requested to be seated, by 7:00 PM no one was still available. There was one salesmen present and we were told that it would be at least another 15 to 20 minutes. It is my expectations that after being notified on three separate occasions of a scheduled appointment, that your company honor the agreed upon appointment time. We traveled from another state and felt the manner in which we were treated was inappropriate and rude. We left and do not have a very good first impression of Drive Time.

    So I purchased a 2010 Jetta that I really liked 11/6/14. Next day I heard a thumping noise, which surprised me since I was told all cars go through a thorough inspection. Well my car will now be undergoing transmission work. So in less than a week I am carless again, for who knows how long. Yes it's still under warranty through Aeverex but if I want a rental car they only reimburse me $26.99 a day. So does anyone know where I can get a rental for that price? If this problem hadn't occurred I probably would've rated my experience higher since I did receive good customer service while purchasing.

    The main problem I had with trying to find a car that I wanted was the pushy sales people everywhere I went. At DriveTime, I was allowed to look around the lot without anyone looking over my shoulder. I advised the salesperson the vehicles I was interested in and he showed them to me and allowed me to test drive the ones I was debating on.     DO NOT BUY FROM DRIVETIME!!! It's a SCAM!! I was recommended to DriveTime by a friend. I went in back in September 2013 & left with a 2010 Ford Fusion. The DriveTime Reps assured me the car had passed the highest of inspections & my warranty was good for 50,000 miles. Within weeks after taking the vehicle home I began to hear a clicking noise. I then took the vehicle in for an inspection and learned both drive axles had to be replaced! Yes, the warranty covered it but I still had to miss two days of work to have my vehicle repaired.

    Back in February of this year my check engine light illuminated. I began to notice every time I would fill my car up with gas it would not crank. Whenever I'm at a stop the vehicle shakes uncontrollably and the only way to get it to stop is putting the car in park. I immediately contacted Averex. I have taken my vehicle into the Ford, Ammco, Arctic Automotive and Goodyear all for inspections within the last 8 months. I've called DriveTime crying, begging and pleading for their help only to be told there was nothing they could do. Oh well they could stop my auto pay is what I was told.

    I was told during the many inspections the issue is involving the emissions system. Aside from those problems I have also had to replace 3 tires and 2 batteries. If I had known the car had so many problems I would have never gotten it. You would think they would respect my good history even though I've only made one late payment in the entire time I've had the car. Yet when my payment was late ONE TIME DriveTime called my mother and I about 6 times a day each everyday until the payment was made. I have a four-month-old son who has to ride around in that car & because of the shaking I'm sometimes afraid to even let him ride in it. I'm going to hire an attorney because what DRIVETIME is doing is FRAUD. SO WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

    We drove two and a half hours to drive time on laurens road with very heavy hearts, because we weren't sure if we would even be able to get a car.     Test drove car, had to jump battery first. Tested battery was bad. Was told I would have to go to a place and have it replaced, at 8:30 pm. I hadn't even signed the paperwork.     This past Sat. I purchased a 2007 Honda Civic EX Coupe! The initial process was painless and ** of the Torrance office was GREAT! This Civic was to be my commuter vehicle as it gets 40 hwy mpg and I drive 32 mil one way to work. The night I purchased the vehicle everything seemed fine. Drove the vehicle straight home & it sat parked till I drove it to work yesterday. While driving the vehicle, I began to smell a burning smell, but didn't see any smoking. I assumed the vehicle hasn't been driven so maybe it would burn off... Went to lunch, tried to use the AC... NOTHING!

    I attempted to contact the warranty company and they referred me to a local garage... Called the garage where the gentleman advises me that just to check the AC it would take 1-2 hours then I could be without a vehicle for 2 days. Luckily my spouse works for a major dealership...in the service dept. Upon inspection of the vehicle, it was discovered that the vehicle had a FILTHY air filter, needs all new spark plugs, the AC compressor might be bad, a broken right rear suspension shock which is leaking and the right engine mount is cracked!

    My spouse is trying to convince me to fix the car and keep it, but I'm just so appalled at the fact that the dealership would even sell this vehicle in its current condition. What if I hadn't caught it within the 5-day 300 miles period? I understand when purchasing a used vehicle that there might be small/minor issues but is the company so cheap and negligent that they couldn't even replace a $3 air filter? Had the air filter been clean, I would've never had the vehicle inspected to begin with! Everyone was real helpful prior to the purchase, now no one wants to talk with the same level of customer service... I have every right mind to miss work just to return this vehicle tomorrow! Extremely disappointed.

    Got my vehicle about 3 months ago. There was 98294 miles on the car. Now it's 104066. Now maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure within that time frame, my brakes should not be worn out already along with a scraped rotor. So I call DriveTime to tell them my problem. They then direct me to the protection plan vehicle coverage, only for them to tell me that they don't cover brakes. So I call DriveTime back. They then tell me it's been over 30 days and I've driven over 15000 miles so they can't do anything for me.     I went to DriveTime on a Monday. I talked to the sales representative and he got me approved. We picked out a car and went for a test drive. I wanted the car so the salesman had me get insurance for the car. After I got insurance I was informed that they didn't have the title and couldn't sell the car. This was after sitting up there for about 5 or 6 hours. I received a call the next day saying the title was available. On Thursday I called them and told them who I was and asked if the car was still available. They told me yes and told me to come in.

    Once I got there I asked if I could test drive a different car. After the test drive I said I wanted the car I originally got approved for. They told me it was out front and they were looking for the keys. I told them it wasn't the same car because the one I was looking at had a sunroof and it cost more. I was then informed that the car I was looking at was on hold for someone else and I couldn't get it. So I ended up with a car I really didn't want paying more money than I would have had. I got the other car after about 5 or 6 more hours.

    Nothing negative about the actual sales experience. Mariano was so nice and attentive. I got the car I wanted and it was super easy to get a car. My daughter even came in to see mine and bought one too. They called me everyday for over a week before I actually bought one. Wanting to know when I was going to come in. I go...meet Mariano and all is smooth and well. I drove the car during the day and didn't notice until driving it at night that the clear plastic covering on the dash is very hazy. Now it's really bothersome because I think it's a simple fix they should've taken care of.

    I go by and they send me to One Stop repair to see if they can fix it. I've only had it 2 days. One stop says that the first short warranty won't cover it. So I call DriveTime on Wyoming back and they say they'll look into it but never call me back! So...this is a simple minor fix but like I said now it's all I see when I drive the car. DriveTime sure knows how to make you happy when you're giving them your money and signing papers but it seems to end right there. I was going to recommend them to my friends but now...probably won't. Very disappointed that they won't fix this for me, but even more upset they couldn't call me back like they said they would. The rating below are based on my experience AFTER the sale.

    I bought the vehicle. I currently finance through DT approximately one and a half years ago. At the time I had just finished college for the second time and my credit options/down payment I could provide was somewhat limited due to not having significant credit history. I needed a vehicle for work seeing as I was sharing a car with my girlfriend at the time. The place seemed legitimate based on the internet site and the things I was told after contacting them and submitting my info about how much I could put down on the vehicle. Upon arrival their story changed from "oh....well everyone is approved BUT you would need X amount for those cars" etc etc...I ended up purchasing a 2006 VW rabbit with around k miles for overbook price because of the "included warranty". I believe it ended up coming to around 16.5k, I was told and guaranteed at the time of purchase, through my contract the car has undergone a strict evaluation and repairs had been done for all necessary safety issues and mechanical problems. After I looked up the blue book on the car+extended warranty cost I was furious and almost returned the car but didn't...big mistake, and yes partially my fault.

    During the last year and a half I've worked almost all of it with breaks in employment twice which caused me to have issues with my payments...I paid what I could based on my unemployment and my living costs and made an honest effort to do right by my obligations. I can't count on both hand how many times I received calls at work after telling them I wasn't allowed to and being told "ohh...well, um yeah it's an auto dialer" blah blah blah. Keep in mind I have worked two IT jobs where phone policies were very strict for personal use, and I could have been counseled or terminated for this.

    Fast forward to this year. A few months ago I started to notice my brakes were making noise, the car was running rough and I was smelling oil at times on the freeway. I repaired the pads once myself on the rear and noticed the rotors had grooves. I mean you could cereal out of these rotors...this didn't happen in 12-14 months.....At the time I couldn't get the rotors off myself and had to wait until I could save the money for a repair shop to do the work. Last week I took my car into Tireworks to have it checked out. I was told it needed tires, battery, belts, tuneup, and front/rear brakes among a few other things. I was shown the condition of the equipment being replaced prior to removal and much of it was shocking to me. Inspected and approved to high safety standards....whose safety standards? Would they allow their own children to ride in an auto inspected under those standards you may ask?

    After picking up my vehicle at the shop to the tune of over 1500 in repairs, they told me that it didn't appear there had been much maintenance ever done to the car prior to me buying it based on the condition of the items that were replaced. Rotors were not changed and were grooved badly in rear, spark plugs very dirty and had never been changed, the belts were almost worn through on one side of one belt and the other was even worse. This all being said most of these items would not have been covered under their "warranty" due to them being wear and tear. After going back and forth with them after initial purchase I knew they would not admit fault for this issue and try to blame it on my driving or whatever they could come up with. I shelled out the money for all of these repairs which TBH, if you have reasonable amount of knowledge about automobiles you would know the items named are not things that get worn due to wear and tear in a year and half.

    Buyer beware with these people, and unless you have a large down payment, well it is common sense but if you have a high interest rate along with their "simple interest rate loans" and do lose your job etc miss a payment, even once or twice you will be stuck with the car for a lot longer than intended....My credit score has gone up since then due to other efforts made on my own part IE getting a secured CC etc...I found out they weren't even reporting to the credit bureaus at first. I had to call and make a huge deal about it more than once before they did. =(

    I feel this is a fairly detailed account of some of the things I've encountered with them....I now pay them manually every pay date because they are also somewhat misleading about their billing practices and double billed me last month.They fixed it after about 10 days but I was late with my rent due to it and the fact I didn't expect to have an extra x amount of dollars removed from my budget unexpectedly. Having looked over my principal still left on the loan and my options I will be doing my best to refinance with another company ASAP and once my credit score is sufficiently high enough to get a better rate.

    I purchased a 2007 Dodge Caliber from here a year and a half ago and it has been such a money pit. The air conditioning went out 2 months after I got the car which wasn't under warranty, so I had to pay to fix that. Then I was told the struts were bad which weren't under warranty anymore, so I had to fix those. The car shakes uncontrollably whenever I'm stopped at a light.     After purchasing my car as with most dealership, the customer service is no longer a priority. I had to have my car towed back to drivetime 1 hour after I drove off the loss. Not knowing what to do because it would not start and I could not get anyone on the phone at Aeverex. The next I called into the store and talked to a manager who let me know in a hasty and rude way that it was not their problem. Not once did he apologize. At this point I was ready to turn the vehicle right back to them. Thank God for Mr. Dontavian ** who took time that night and helped me by replacing a bad battery. I would also like to mention another manager Mr. Chris ** who was apologetic and gave me the information I needed to at least try to get some or all of the $150.00 that I had to pay for towing services.

    My son bought a 2007 Volkswagen and within 30 days the transmission is gone, the gears won't shift and every time he calls he is told that there is nothing that can be done. Really, mind you my son has only put 600 miles on the car. I am very disappointed in their service and the false information they give you with their extended warranty policy and the so called diagnostic checks that they claim to have done. If such was the case how come none of the inspections revealed that the transmission was acting up. My son had his car packed, woke up the next day with the gear shifter stuck. Now he is faced with a $1440.00 bill that he must pay out of pocket if he wants the cars to be fixed. That price does not include the transmission, just the gear shifter.

    Well sales people were cordial and friendly. Just took too long (2 1/2) hrs and when test driving the car didn't started and had to be jumped. Should have say no then but I thought they will offer me another battery but didn't. Will be calling someone soon. Also didn't get my car top off with fuel especially with interest and prices. The only reason why I got the second car was because the 1st one was hit by another and it was a total lost. The only way to pay off the car was to do it thru the DriveTime insurance as long as I pay the deductible but with the condition that I get another car thru DriveTime. When I 1st got the 1st car gap wasn't offer and the length was shorter. Hopefully I don't have to go thru this again.

    Some health issues have caused me to fall late in my monthly payments. I paid extra last month (September) to help get back on track. But unforeseen circumstances caused me to miss my October 3rd payment date. The calls started at a little at 8 am October 3rd and the non listening customer service person says "call me back on Monday October 6th." Thus was even after I informed him I was going to be late but would pay extra again. Now they are calling me three or more times a day and I am still telling them the same thing. The lady today was not listening and wanted me to make a payment over the phone. I realize I am 6 days late it is only $145 dollars. But must they call every number they have for me. Not avoiding them just overwhelmed with school needs and medical appointment. I was told today I could not keep being late, did they say this to everyone? I still will be making payments when the transmission goes out because it has been a problem since purchase of the car. Their mechanic could never feel or hear the slip just getting worse.
