The people at the DriveTime dealership were amazing!! They helped with our kids and treated us awesome. My problem was after. Our Subaru Forester started overheating on the way home and had to be towed to a shop less than 24 hours after buying it! Very frustrating!! I will say this though, I will still recommended you'll cause I realize there's just some things you can control.

Just traded in my 05 for an 08 F150. May not seem like much, but the 08 has everything a truck could every want. Buying experience was great too. Shawn at the Lewisville location responded to every question I had in a very timely manner. We are very pleased.

I purchased this car 2/14/14. My vehicle needed a new alternator a month after my purchase. I took it to the recommended mechanic twice before they even repaired my car, and had to have the car towed back to them the next day because the belt they put on came off. Since then the engine light flashes off and on and the belt has broken into shreds 3 different times. This car barely drives it, cuts off all the time and its issues are not covered under the warranty!!!!

I answered an ad in my email. It said 0 dollars down for thirty days any type of credit. I got a call next day from DriveTime and went for an appointment on Tuesday 02 February 2015. I get to the dealership. They run my credit and tell me I need a 3000 dollar deposit. Then I reminded them of the ad on internet stating 0 down for 30 days and they refused to honor their web ad. They said bring in 3000 dollars then they will work with me. Even the girls in the van on their TV commercials say all types of credit approved. Do not go to these people for any reason. If they decide after reading this to sell me a car and follow their ads and fix this situation then I will change my comments to something positive. But until then stay away from this business at all cost. All they want is to get your body into their lobby and scam you from there.

I'm trapped in a car that constantly breaks. When I got the car I had to immediately take it to the auto shop because the warranty would expire. I've had this car for two years and I've had to repair this car so much I fell behind in payments. All I want is to cut my losses and not waste any more money on a car that will not last another year. However, when I spoke to a Drivetime rep and manager they advised me that the only way to get out of their car is pay it down far below its value.
Drivetime tells you they will get you a great car with bad or no credit but honestly they will get a car to barely passing inspection.

I was called (at my phone number!) many, many times over a week, until I was able to make the trip to DriveTime to choose a vehicle. I was told I was "pre-approved" for up to $26,000. When I got there and went to choose a vehicle, I was told I had to choose from 3 or 4 different cars, all the least expensive on the lot. I'm not sure why. Everyone was so unprofessional! There was rap music playing on the PA and the sales people were inattentive. But still I went through with the deal. I purchase my car on October 20, 2014. When my temporary tag was about to expire, on December 27th, I called and was told they don't have my plates yet because I wasn't asked to sign the title. Ok...
So I took the 50-mile drive from my home to sign the title. I asked why they didn't call me before and they said they didn't know. I verified that they had my number so they could call me because they were to get my plates the following Monday (this was Saturday). This was told to me by the RUDE "Manager". Sadly, I never got the call. I called them a month later and was told they hadn't gone to get the plates yet, but they would on Tuesday after the MLK holiday. I again verified they had my number so they could call me. I didn't get a call, so I called a week later and was told that, not only do they still NOT have my plates, but there were two other forms I had to sign.
So now I have to take the 50-mile trip (100 miles round trip) to them again to sign. Then I will have to go again when the plates come in. As if that weren't enough, they let me take the car WITHOUT a proper state inspection, so I will have to take the car BACK to them at some point to be inspected, in the couple of weeks there are left before my SECOND temporary plate expires. I asked why they didn't call me and was told they don't have a number on file for me. WHAT? I had verified it twice and I know they had it because they were calling me hot and heavy to get me to come in to buy the vehicle!
I was upset, so I called the corporate office to try to get them to do something about getting my plates. The first time I called, I was on hold for six minutes and the phone was disconnected. The second time I called, I was on hold for 8 minutes and got disconnected. The third time I called, I was told they would send me to voice mail and then I was promptly stuck on hold for 10 more minutes. I called back an hour later and never even got a live operator... I was placed on hold from the beginning. I never spoke to anyone at all. So here is what I have:
A car with a rapidly-expiring second temporary plate; A third 100-mile round trip to the dealership, with no results; A car that "could be" unsafe because it was sold to me without proper state inspection and emissions testing; No customer service; Hung up on many times; and no one to help me or tell me what's going on with my car. Oh and get this...I was two days behind on my payment last week and guess what I got? A PHONE CALL from DRIVETIME. SOMEONE clearly has my phone number!

60 days after my purchase the car broke down, the engine light came on, and the car refused to start. The warranty I was given that said the engine was covered was not the case. I now have to pay $700 for a lemon they knew would not work after 2 months.

Everyone we had the pleasure of dealing with was very friendly and quite patient with us. They didn't try to push something on us we didn't want, or rush us into anything we were uncomfortable with. They had no problem answering any questions we had and making sure we understood the buying and payment process. I was not very impressed with the customer service. When I called to talk to our salesman, he was not in and they never asked for a number to call back or a time that he might be in. When we finally just decided to go in we had a different saleswomen. She did everything to make the process easier and painless. I was very pleased with her in all aspects. Drivetime in GA sell the worse cars. The warranty does not cover hardly anything. You take your car to the shop they recommend (third party), they hold your car for over 10 day and I am paying out of pocket for a rental and they tell me they will only cover 1 day at 25.99. Well the rental was 46 dollars and change a day. They received my car 1/9/15 and still have my car and will not pay for me to get a rental. The company (oil pit) is the worse when it comes to business because they send your car somewhere else to get repaired because they are not competent enough to fix your car. It took them 7 days to a diagnostics test. I should have took it to a GM dealer rather than deal with them, at least I would have had my car back by now repaired and running. I would never recommend or do business with them ever again. The worse experience I have ever had with buying a car and getting a repair.

I was impressed that all the employees were on a salary basis, which means they were not trying to pressure me into buying anything. They were actually very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I had went to a few other dealerships. Unfortunately, I do not have the greatest credit but at Drivetime, they still help me get into the car that I wanted. So all in all I got my new car from them and I would come back and buy again from them.

I had a very good experience with your team. I would recommend your business to everyone I can talk to who want the car. The sales man was great. The manager was great. They delivered the car exactly how they said they would-- clean smelling, good, in excellent shape. I have no complaints at all. That's the second car they purchase from you.

Absolutely do not purchase a car from them. We purchased a car from them in May 2014. Were required a down payment of $4,500, which took us 30 days to get before we could actually leave with the car. They promised the car was going to be detailed and ready on the day we scheduled to come get the car. When we arrived the car was filthy and had a cup that was left in the cup holder. Our original sales person wasn't there so another sales person took the car through the car wash while we completed our paper work. The car cost $16,700, and had over 90,000 miles on it and was a 2009.
Please keep in mind this is Nissan that is coming new off the lot at about $17,000. During the paper work that we were rushed through it was never disclosed so they added $13,000 in fees and that was after the $4,500 we put down on the car. After going online to make a payment that is by the way is $430.00/month, I realized that the balance owed on this car was $30,000, well over the blue book value and what the car is worth. After contacting the sales person to complain, we were told they couldn't help us at this point. When asked for corporate's contact information we were told we needed to go through customer service, and hung up on. We were ripped off, and the car needed tires and an oil change within the first 60 days we had it. Buyer beware. Save yourself the headache we're currently dealing with Drivetime. It's nothing but a scam and we're suing them.

I leased a car from Drivetime in Denver, CO in September! On 21Nov, two months after purchase, the car broke down! Had to pay to have it towed home! A week later the only drivetime service center in my area could get my car in, thus an additional tow expense! The car needed the ENGINE replaced after two months of me having the car! Car was in shop for over a month being repaired, leaving me with car rental expenses! Car broke down again, radiator issue now!!
I've paid more money out of pocket for this vehicle, including warranty deductibles, car rentals and towing expenses! They don't seem to care that I was sold a car, with the wrong battery and an engine replacement and now a radiator problem! I work in customer service and I am one of the most patient ppl, but this is the worst customer service I have EVER experienced in my life! I get used cars will have problems, but really, a whole new engine after 2 months! And a radiator problem in less than 4 months! The car spent more time not driveable than I was even able to "enjoy" it! And customer service did nothing to correct the problem! The WORST service ever!!!!!

We purchase a 2007 Chrysler Sebring from the Sanford, FL dealership and everyone there were very professional and helpful, from Octavio the sales representative to Constance the Office Manager. They took the time to explain every detail about the vehicle and work with us with the financing considering that my credit wasn't good. They accepted our old car as a down payment and we drove off the premises in about three hours driving our new car. Overall a very pleasant experience and we recommend it.

The complete sales team was great, all the way to F&I. The warranty and other offers they have, plus taking care of the registration process and plates saved me time and money. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately I didn't have my car 24 hrs & had mechanical problems. Was told to call warranty company which I don't feel was very helpful & was expected to pay for towing & rental car upfront & then get reimbursed, after I just put money for down payment.

I went to purchase a car at the Lakeland office in Florida, the car I wanted was on reservation. The sales lady (Lane) then brought me other cars that were available for purchase. She showed me a Dodge Journey which I agreed to purchase after the test drive. After they put my paper work in and I was approved and my payments were set. He then showed me all extra services that came with the car and I chose what I wanted. After that he (Patrick ** ) came back and said that the car cannot be sold because they do not have the title.

Since March we have bought three vehicles. When we bought the second car they gave us a credit of one payment to apply against the first car. When we bought the third they were to apply a payment against the first car again but never did, we would call the dealership directly and they said they did apply it but the credit department never received it. After this going on for over two weeks, we finally gave up and just made the payments along with close to 50 dollars of late fees.
Ever since then they start calling for payments three days after we receive the text notification of a payment being due. They will say the payment is past due by three days and we again will have to pay the late fee to become current again. One instance they sent the payment due notice on a Wednesday, then on that Friday two days later they sent a notice that no payment was due. Because of the second notice we could not send the payment by Western Union and again had to pay the late fee over the phone to become current. When all three cars are paid in full, we will never use them again. Drive time is good for people with bad credit as long as you keep current.

I got my car in the middle of August, even though I had the temp reg in the window, I kept getting pulled over by the highway patrol. DriveTime told me they would pay for the tags the first year. The temp reg is only good for 90 days so 2 days before it expired I was pulled over and the officer said it was because of the expired stickers. He said upon running my plates they hadn’t paid for the tags. I call them up and they lied and said that the stickers would be in my mailbox that week. I called the following week and they lied and said the same thing, then had my go out to the dealership to pick up paper plates. Here it is almost January and still no stickers. Not to mention the car has electrical problems since I got it and they want me to pay their vendor $100 just to look at it. I shouldn't have to pay that since I got the car from them that way.

Torrance, ca DT leased me a car with no gas, and it was ** up since day 1. I've took it to their mechanics numerous times and the issue hasn't been solved. One day they waived my $200 fee then after I kept calling the mechanic to see what's going on with my car they tell me I have to pay $200. This is a lesson learned not to purchase from none brand dealerships. They're full of ** for selling me a lemon.

They repossessed my car the same day I was going to pay for it. I was late but only by two days. They came and got the car at 3 am. I had to dish out 647 dollars to get the car back. 222 my original payment 300, I don't know what for a fee they have or something and 125 when I went to go pick it up. Do not get a car with them. They're horrible, god forbid you're in the hospital or something. As soon as my finances are in order this car is getting dropped off in a junkyard. They can come pick it up from there.

My experience at Drivetime was a great staff worked all day to get me finance. And they did for the 1st time buyer and get me my dream car, but there were a few things I'm worried about. There are minor things are wrong with my vehicle. I don't have a spare tire, interior is dirty, passenger seat is half broken, deep scratches. Need front brakes and the list goes on. But it runs great these things I didn't see before because when I drove off it was late that night. My only issue is I call AEVEREX and they are close. My issue is I'm a new customer and my car needs to be looked at. But overall my experience was great!!!!!! I will refer friends and family.

I purchased my car through Drivetime. It was involved in a hit and run accident. Drivetime received the check for repairs from the insurance. Drivetime did not fix the car. They took that check and apply it to the principal of the car so they say... They apply this money toward the principal of the loan without my permission or knowledge. I'm very upset with them and never will deal with them again... All my recommendation towards Drivetime is... STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM DRIVETIME...

Everything was wonderful when I came there and got my vehicle. I was told that my payment would be due on the 3rd so on the second I went to Walmart and made my payment of 211 dollars. After that my son in law came to me with his bank statement showing that they had taken their payment out a day after I made my payment. I called DriveTime to ask why they would take a payment from my son in law and they said that I signed a statement releasing them to make a payment through his bank account. I do not remember signing this and it doesn't matter anyway because I cannot sign a statement for my son in law's bank account - he would have to sign that. So needless to say because overdraft was used 70 additional dollars will have to be made to my son in law’s bank because DriveTime to took a second payment out.

The customer service was ok. I got the car 2 months ago. A week later the back end was shaking and making noise. I was within my 30-day warranty and had to take the car to the same repair shop 3 different times and leave it the final time and the car repair shop paid for a rental. The car sounded great but now it is doing the same thing but worse. The rotors and calipers were all shinny when I first got the car and now they are totally rusted which could not happen within the time I had the car. I call the dealership. They send me to Customer Relations. They tell me to call the mechanic. The mechanic tells me that they have never had anything approved by DriveTime since they have had a contract with them. Trying to see if I can just get another car all together tired of dealing with the hassle. I feel like they shined the car up but it turned out to be a lemon.

I did not know the interest rate was going to be so high. What I am paying for this car, I could have gotten a brand new one with a rebate to help on the down payment. The salespeople were wonderful, professional, & kind. They made sure I understood everything. My opinion if you drop your interest rate down to some of these well known dealerships, you could be the hottest thing selling cars right now & forever.

Purchased a car in August 2014 - filled out all necessary paperwork to license my car in Maryland. After my temp tag was out 30 days later called them in September. They assured me that my paperwork was still at the DMV in Maryland. October still no tags. Called again, same story - tags were still at Maryland DMV. November called again, tags still a Maryland DMV. Called Maryland DMV. They had no record of paperwork being submitted. December 8th recently moved out of state due to military move. Called them again. They said they had to resend package to Maryland DMV, gave me a tracking number. Checked the tracking number - it went out on NOVEMBER 20th. Called Maryland DMV again. They stated no paperwork had been previously submitted. Called back DriveTime. They told me Maryland DMV is lying seriously!!!!! I called DriveTime again and they were supposed to provide me with original tracking. They say they sent in August but of course they haven't called back. This is a nightmare. I will never recommend this company.

I went in to Drivetime in Louisville, had a decent down payment. I told them I didn't want my payments to be at $400/month because I didn't think that would fit in my budget. They brought me options for a vehicle that was at $435/month with all of the warranties included. I asked them to take off all of the warranties. They did and they came back at around $430 with no warranties. They just boosted the interest rate so that it would match that amount! I was furious. When I asked why, they essentially said "take it or leave it." They gave ZERO explanation. I eventually relented to the pressure, but they needed to get the "check engine" issue fixed. They said,"no problem." I said, "no problem." I was to hear from them on Monday (it was a Saturday when I went in).
I never heard from them again. I called a week later and they said my salesperson would call me back. They never did. I'm still angry, but I was going to buy the car and try to pay it off quickly. So... why didn't I hear back from them??? My number is the same! I'm bothered that they didn't listen to me when I said I had a budget, the questionable math in regards to the interest rate AND that they didn't even get back to me. By the way, the sales guy was a really nice guy. Great guy. The finance person... I'm not impressed.

The management was told to hold a vehicle for me at the Lexington, Ky location. I drove 2 hours down there with the sales associate from Cincinnati to find out they sold my car I was going to buy. My experience at Drive Time was so much more than I ever expected. I had been without a car for a few weeks and was in desperate need of one. I had visited at least three other dealerships but realized that once I got there, the sales reps were not interested in helping me get a car that I could afford but a car that I would "look great" in. I was frustrated but not at all surprised at their urging to buy the most expensive car on the lot. I am a 26 year old female and had gone to these dealerships alone so needless to say, I was skeptical when I walked in the doors of Drive Time. Boy was I ever wrong!!
The employees at the Knoxville TN store were so helpful and friendly from the moment I stepped in the door! Had to spend whole day at dealer. Most unpleasant experience is lack of food nearby. Suggest as some dealers do have hot choices. Small kitchen. Dealt with Drivetime on many occasions. Prices are always steep. For bad credit option, might be a better choice with warranty already attached to deal. Was able to work with us to get good rate.

My sales man was wonderful. He worked with me all day!!! While I climbed in and out of practically every vehicle on the lot, waiting patiently. When I had finally made a decision the Manager and Salesman worked quickly and with great caution to ensure that I was comfortable with the purchase. I have been referring them to everyone that I meet that is shopping for a used vehicle.

Was told that I could get into a vehicle after paying my existing one down to $4500 with little or no down payment though their DT Champ program. Turns out not to be true! Guys at the dealership were great! However, I feel betrayed and flat out lied to after 4+ years of being a customer. I keep being told there's "nothing" they can do.... DT probably just lost a customer!

I feel that I was sold a LEMON!!!! The sales department was great but the car sucks. I got my car on February 27th 2014. I haven't even had the car a year yet. Two weeks after getting the car I had to have the brakes done, which need to be done again. The steering wheel is always shaking, the A/C (Heater) has gone out. I feel that something need to be done. I will get a lawyer if I have to do to help me with this. Something needs to be done. I will never tell anyone that I know to go to Drivetime after what I'm dealing with.

This was by far the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Was getting ready to finish putting down payment for my 2008 Ford F150, when I noticed a amber light loses in the headlight lens. Your manager ** argued with me about it, stating he wasn't going to change nothing and that, "It is a used truck, it's gonna have things wrong." Not something I wanted to hear from your staff. Found the front bumper pushed back, asked to have that removed, to bend the brackets back and reinstall the bumper. That was out of the question as well and also the windshield wiper transmission cover was not bolted down and that as well was out of the question. He argued with me for a little over 20 mins while the other manager **, just stood there and said nothing. Not very professional in my opinion. I have never had a sales manager argue with me in my life. I went to your location because it was highly recommended, but after my experience, I will never burden anyone by sending them here. I hope after I pick up my licence plates, to never have to go back again.

Got a car from your company. They put aftermarket parts on the car. Which causes the brakes to squeak. Front brakes were replaced. I asked for the rear to be replaced and offered to pay half the cost. However the avoid more cost the repair shop was told to say that the rear brakes Did Not Need Replacing. Plus the radio couldn't be fixed. Price of the car should have been lowered.

My experience was OK honestly, the only reason I got the car was because I was desperate for a car. I was told I could choose from any car on the lot but then I had a choice of something else to which none of them I wanted. I chose the 2007 Kia Optima because it was the nicest and ran pretty good, but it was dirty. They did not offer to clean it for me and give it to me clean. I asked for monthly payments but got biweekly payments, I felt like they played in my desperation to get me into the car. I did an online approval and when I got there it was something different. My payments are way more than I wanted to pay but again I needed the car. I wanted to put down $1500 and was told I could put down $985 but ending up putting down $1000.00 and then at signing was told I owed another $516 which took my payments higher. This was a dishonest deal and I felt bamboozled. At this point I just want to make my payments and be done with it all because my 24 hours are up. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!

I just bought a car from you, and it isn't in great repair. The test drive didn't include a highway ride; if it did, I would have felt the front end shaking. I don't know if this is a tactic but it is a poor practice.

We (my mom, daughter, sister and I) went to buy a car and even though the process was long, in the end, it was worth it because we came without a vehicle and left with a vehicle. The process was long because of the issues they were having (store is located on SW 174 St and US 1-So Dade). I was very impressed with the team (George, Jonathan and there was another manager). They were all very friendly and did everything to make sure that we were happy and comfortable. I would recommend this store (actually I did already) to all family members and friends.

What an awful experience. The wordplay these people use is crazy. They say your warranty includes free brake replacements but you don't find out until the end that that translates to ONE brake PAD replacement. What a joke. The manager ** is a huge condescending, smart ass, jerk. He would answer my questions with a sarcastic smile and then give me the opposite answer 5 minutes later. Sudan mysteriously couldn't find the keys to the car we wanted and said we would have to pick a different car. The car we got broke down the very next day and we had to return. Thankfully we got a different manager and the transfer process was smooth.
Our salesperson the second time around was slow and couldn't answer any of my questions and had an attitude the entire time we were there because he was supposed to be off work already. He even gave me crap for asking him to put gas in the new car since I had just filled up the old one that broke down. I left feeling like I had just burdened someone with the task of taking my money. I am overpaying for the car, having to deal with a mileage limitation, a GPS tracking device that can stop your vehicle from running, which with all the computer errors on the first day I wouldn't be surprised if someone accidentally disables my vehicle. I knew going in that I was going to overpay for a vehicle but I did not expect such poor customer service.

I told him what I could do as the downpayment and what kind of payments I could make, I didn't want to waste his time or mine by just going in. Well, I would like to say that I was a little unsure as to how things would go or work out. Regarding the offer that Mrs. Chemeka ** had discussed with me over the phone. But, after speaking with my wife. Remembering the way Mrs. ** had conducted herself over the phone so professionally and personal. We had decide to go in to see her the very next day. Once we arrived to Atlantic Blvd location. Mrs. **, walked right up to us knowing immediately who we were and by names. We immediately were impressed by the professionalism she displayed. She didn't pressure us, give us time to look over the inventory. So patient with us! Had a wonderful personality, humor etc. The experience was so GREAT that we didn't realize the time that went by.
