    I had first checked out DriveTime's website and it seemed pretty easy to buy a car. So 2 days later I decided to stop in and see what was up. The best decision I ever made! Randy was the first to give me info and to start my application but I needed to return with my paycheck stubs. So the very next day I got off work and went straight to the lot and Tom was the one who finished my application and showed me 3 cars that was in my budget. He never tried getting me to spend more money or go outside my income to make a profit even though I had my heart set on a Honda CRV. It wasn't within budget but my second choice was a 2010 Hyundai Elantra. Less than 3 hours later I was signing the papers and ready to be on my way. Tom even helped me find insurance.     Went to DriveTime to buy a car after I was out of a job for some months last year. I knew my credit was bad as I had to return my two cars to the bank because of the situation. Went to DriveTime and the staff was great. They helped me get into a car. The price was 4-6k more than anyone else but they approved me. Interest was crazy, but I was happy as this was going to be the car that would drive me to work through my master's degree. 1 week driving the car I noticed a cluck while steering. 2nd week I called the warranty AEVEREX and they referred me to the shop. 3rd week took the car to the shop and the nightmare started. The Toyota Rav4 needed a new steering rack. AEVEREX wanted to put a remanufactured rack instead of a Toyota one. I called to complain and correct the issue. They did not listen. With them it's their way or nothing.

    AEVEREX treated me like if I was JUNK. They refused to fix the car properly. They told me that they would only put a remanufactured steering rack, not the Toyota steering rack it needed. They told me if I refused I could return the car. So I went to the dealer to return the car and they refused to accept the car and give me another or the money back. The only options they gave me was to return it and lose all the down payment and taxes spent, accept their repair or if I wanted the other part I could pay the difference out of my pocket. DT Customer Service did not help, they reaffirmed if I return the car I lose the down payment and gave me a runaround for 3 hours on the phone. So I drove the car out and went home. After that I spoke with the repair shop owner and AEVEREX again. They explained that the remanufactured part will have 12-month warranty.

    Digging deeper asking AEVEREX and the shop owner I found the following... The part they found to repair the car was 200 dollars and a Toyota part is 900. The repair requires removing the engine to access the steering rack and that is 1200 worth of labor. So for 700 dollars that AEVEREX wants to save they put me through all this. Today 03/31/16 the part arrived. The steering rack is not remanufactured, is used from a JUNKyard out of a 2008 Rav4.

    I called AEVEREX again and they do not want to do the repair right. They do not care about my time, or the time and efforts I spent going through all this process. The fact that the part might fail again as it is from a JUNKyard does not bother any of the people I talked to, the fact that you are driving the car with a used steering rack pulled from a JUNKyard, the fact that this is what you use to steer the car - your safety - They don't care.

    For them it is more about spending 200 dollars for a used (not refurbished) part versus 900 for the proper part. Your time or your safety, they really don't care. The business or the laws by numbers of insurance do not affect their decision, it is their way without regards or concerns to the safety or the care of others. For that DT and AEVEREX for me are the JUNK. The same JUNK they treat you like and the JUNK of their service, parts and business ethics. Go somewhere else or keep your old car. In the end it's better not to deal with all this JUNK.

Please rest assured, all of our vehicles undergo a multipoint inspection prior to sale at our DriveTime inspection centers. At that time, any parts that fail inspection are replaced. However, with pre-owned vehicles, we are unable to foresee if or when any future issues may arise. For peace of mind, all of our purchase vehicles come with a 30 day/1,500 mile limited warranty, and the option to purchase extended coverage. We encourage our customers to review all aspects of their purchase prior to sale.

    Should any mechanical breakdown occur under the limited or extended coverage, we encourage our customers to take their vehicle to an in-network repair facility to be addressed. Once diagnostic testing is performed, and the issue is identified, the repair facility would need to contact Aeverex, the warranty administrator, to determine coverage for repairs. Parts used in repairing covered components can be either new, remanufactured, or used parts, and is up to Aeverex’s discretion. Additional information on coverage and terms can be found in the paperwork that was provided at the time of sale.

    Our number one priority is safety. Please understand that not all repairs require a new, manufacturer part to successfully resolve repair concerns and to operate safely.

    I recently purchased a Hyundai Elantra through DriveTime located in Bradenton, FL. The office was clean and the sales clerk was very kind and patient. He helped us find a car we liked at a reasonable price. However, as we browsed pricing and so on he repeatedly told us the GPS, Gap and Powertrain were "included with all DriveTime vehicles." Only after I looked over the paperwork as I was curious how the price of the car jumped from 16k to 21k did I see these were additional charges. I felt deceived by the tactics to jump to price of the car up. I called the customer service department. They said I could cancel these items, of which I did on 2/23/2016. Now this is where it got interesting.

    The GPS and Gap were credited to my account as a "principle payment" then the payment was reversed. I ended up calling DriveTime 3 times before it was corrected. I was told the payment reversal was a glitch in the system the first time I called. The two following calls the rep told me they had no idea why the payments were reversed. After the second call, my regular payment was showing as reversed too. They have corrected the issue as far as I can tell currently. Now here I am on week 5 of the 4-6 week wait before the powertrain will be removed. I feel like I've had to constantly babysit my account.

    I really don't like the bi-weekly payments. I would've much preferred a monthly payment. On the plus side even with all the negative things that have happened never once have I experienced a rude or unfriendly rep. Every single time I call the reps are very nice and try to get things done in an orderly manner. Because of the account fiasco, misleading information about the GPS, Gap and Powertrain, and the bi-weekly payments I will most likely not return as a customer here. I do urge anyone considering financing a car through them to make sure you know exactly what you're being charged for BEFORE you sign an agreement.

    I purchased a used GM truck at DriveTime Antioch. Had it since 2-29-3016. Been in the shop since March 15 and has not been repaired. Over $9000 in work to be done and mostly safety issues. I have 4 mismatched tires, all different sizes and one is a passenger tire. Rear end out, wheel bearings out, brakes need work, and I could go on. Aeverex has the warranty and has been most difficult to work with or I would be driving my truck to work. Making payments on a truck I cannot drive.

    They were so nice and helpful until I drove off the lot. If their vehicles were thoroughly inspected as they said, why is this truck in such bad shape with four different size tires they won't replace? I'm stressed, unhappy, frustrated no one will call me back and feel I got the shaft royally. Customer service is more than selling a car. It's being honorable, and half-way living up to the promises made. Think twice about Aeverex warranty and hollow DriveTime promises. Maybe I can save someone else from this horrible experience.

    The wait time was a little long. And the fact that the gap insurance and the gps and extended warranty are not included in the price and are additional fees added to the total purchase price would be nice to know beforehand. I was told that all of these were "included" in the total finance agreement, when in fact it isn't and I actually have a choice in whether I want to purchase them or not. I don't like being deceived into thinking that they were include. Anyhow, I have signed the cancellation forms for both the gap insurance and the gps. I don't really need them. The fact that I was told my downpayment would be 895 and in reality it depends on the kind of car and the "demand" of the car, as the salesman put it. I actually had to put 1600 down.

    The payments are affordable so I am satisfied there, but would rather be on a monthly schedule instead of bi-weekly. I wasn't offered monthly even though I was told they did weekly, bi weekly and monthly payment schedules. 1 day after I got my 2012 VW Passat, the car wouldn't start. Called the dealer and was told that I had to call the Limited warranty company. Thank god it wasn't a day I was far away from home or it wasn't too late to get anything done.

    Needless to say the warranty people sent me to the nearest Pep Boys center. My problem was fixed within an hour. The battery was completely dead. Wouldn't hold a charge or charge. Seeing as though DriveTime does like a 18 point inspection or what not, I would think the battery being no good would have been caught early and changed prior to selling it to me. I like my car so far, so far no major or big problems with it or arising. Let's see in the coming months if it stays the same.

    As far as being told things that are not true, DRIVETIME: You need to get a hold on that problem before it turns into an ugly legal matter down the road. Being told simple things like that the dealer where you buy the car from is not equipped or authorized to fix their vehicle would've been extra convenient instead of getting the runaround before finally being told they don't fix cars there. And being told that the extra warranty, gap, and gps are included in the total price when in fact you have the option of adding and purchasing them at an additional price not included with the vehicle financing would be nice to know. Instead of going home and reading over my paperwork and finding this out. Because let's face it, with the long process time no one wants or pays attention to the paper that states that when the documents are being electronically signed.

    I received calls everyday sometimes 2-3 times a day after completing an application online to come in and meet with a salesperson. I eventually was able to go to the location on I-45 in Houston, Texas. That experience was the worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. From the first moment I stepped into the dealership I was told one lie after another, even to the point that the young lady that helped me told me that the car that I wanted to test drive was being tested already.

    On my way off of the lot after testing driving another car that had been wet inside, somehow she told me that she could not find the other car first after I found the car then she said that she could not find the keys. I explained to her that my time was valuable and I did not have time to waste with lies. I am a 56 year old female and this is not my first rodeo. She ask if I wanted to talk with the Manager. After speaking with him herself he came over in tennis shoes and hooded exercise jacket and not professional at all. I do not believe that he was the manager at all. I believe that DriveTime lures people into the dealership in hopes of making them fall in love with a vehicle and not intending to sell the vehicle that they claim online that they are approved for. Stay away from DriveTime unless you have no other recourse. It is taking advantage of people who do not know any better than to be suckered into their game.

    Had a good experience with the sales and finance staff. They were more than cooperative and were patient with my financial situation. When I went to pick up my vehicle, at night, there wasn't a lot of light for me to see to properly when I had to inspect the vehicle. I had the car was on hold for 6 weeks and when I picked it up, it had a recall notice. The recall notice came out on February 2nd.     Salesman was nice, but not too informed with what vehicles were available. Finance gentleman was friendly and straightforward. Only thing I didn't really like is the 3 addt’l coverage/warranties they push you to buy and automatically include in the final numbers, then say "You can always cancel them later." I folded and purchased all 3. It is the sixth day of having vehicle.

    Took to a AAA approved mechanic to go over. There are 109,000 miles on car but was assured that DriveTime inspects each car meticulously before putting on lot. The list of repairs needed that auto shop gave me is scary. To name only a few of repairs: front & back brakes, blown leaking struts, transmission service, air filter. List goes on. I called warranty company and was informed that almost all the items I listed are EXCLUDED and they are not responsible for. Car is now at a authorized Pep Boys waiting to be looked at. Then they will contact warranty company and then let me know what they will do... I've been in tears all day. Praying I didn't make a huge mistake. I'm a single mother, just trying to stay afloat.

    I bought a car with them for the first time a few weeks ago. It does come with a warranty which I hoped to be a good thing. Upon getting it home there has been a mechanical issue, 2 shops have had a hard time pinpointing. So far Drivetime's warranty has covered everything. But I have to say this makes me nervous going forward as I am almost out of the 30 day warranty period if I've had this many problems so soon. Taking it back in the first 5 days wasn't really an option as they had nothing comparable and it was in the shop waiting for parts for most of that 5 days.

    Poor customer service, lied about the type of lease, refuses to fix issues that were wrong with the vehicle from beginning (told them two days later transmission was going out). Their idea of fixing a recall part is to put a screw you would use in a piece of wood. Airbag light won’t turn off. Their customer service department don't know why they call you every day. No one notes the accounts, no one follows up, or knows what the other person is doing. I will never come to DriveTime again!!!

    My salesman was Jonathan **. I must say this was the best car buying experience to date. No pressure, I set my own payments and he helped me stay within budget. Very friendly, and he along with Brandon took the time to explain every detail. Every staff member I had association with was friendly, and even the others I overheard were also. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is I feel the car could have been waxed and detailed a little better, though it was clean, it still had a dull look after it dried and the weather stripping still looked as though I had sat under trees, yet with a slight wiping, it did come off easily. Mind you, I purchased the car in the rain, again my salesman didn't mind doing what it took to make me happy.

    Another reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is after I got home and looked deeper into the numbers, the purchase amount was wrong. I take partial blame because of the excitement in the deal. I'm sure when I bring it to Brandon attention, it will be corrected. Although it is a big change going from an Avalanche down to a small car, I am more than satisfied. I can't stress enough how easily the process was. I told him what I had, what I could afford for a payment and we found the right vehicle to meet all I wanted, within my budget. The dealership as a whole has several additional things others don't have. However, I would suggest as a lending company, as most do, they look into credit life. Every bank and lending company I've dealt with on loans offers this, but DriveTime doesn't. Credit life is in the event one should die, the loan is satisfied, a type of insurance per say.

    I was in the dealership on Thursday looking for another vehicle as my current one had broken down. I was allowed to walk the property without being bombarded by salespeople. After I found a couple of cars I was interested in I went into the office and a young lady by the name of Danyai helped me and allowed me to test drive the cars. She made the whole process smooth and painless. The only issue I have is and it's no one's fault is when it came time to sign the paperwork via the computer. The computer kept crashing so it took longer than necessary, however they did compensate me with a tank of gas. I highly recommend DriveTime.

    The staff at DriveTime were friendly. Darrell was a good salesman, but they did act like I was there to scam somebody or steal something. I would've expected to have gotten a better deal than what I got. I paid on that car for 4 yrs. I only got half of what I owed. I think the least DriveTime could've done was trade with more like the 200.00 down instead of 900.00, but I got the vehicle traded out.
