I felt I was treated fairly and swiftly. Very happy. I bought a Hyundai. It was quite dirty. The associate took the time to clean. He was very honest with what my options were and again I was very pleased.

I really love the customer service and how approachable the sales advisers are. Jared **, at the Gulf Freeway location, was very helpful and attentive. He showed me various vehicles that were within my budget. He walked me through everything that I can expect from DriveTime and what is expected from me. I would definitely recommend friends to DriveTime in the future.

With my situation I thought it would be hard for them to get me financed even with money down. Darrell, the salesman and the sales manager all did great and the customer service was excellent. I've been turned down by dealers in the past wanting way more money down than I had or more than the car was worth. I got a awesome car, clean and all the options I wanted for a decent price. They have a trade in option for a newer vehicle after on time payments after about a year. I didn't even have to put down the money I said I had to put down. It far less. Go see my boy Darrell if you want a great deal!

Purchase of 2014 Kia Sorento - We were greeted by our sales consultant, Mykiah. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Everything was nice and everyone was very polite and helpful. They even help me to the fullest. The only thing that I dislike was that the car(Santa fe 2012) was not washed or clean for me. Besides that it's a 100. I recommend this place to family and friends but please wash the cars. Thanks.

Went to the Newport News location because my grandmother brought her cat from them and almost a year of trying to get into a nice and newer model car I had very much success in buying a 2015 Chrysler 200. Amazing and funny workers who are truly dedicated in getting you into the vehicle of your dreams.

I love my experience with DriveTime. Sudan had great customer service and I got a very nice car with good pricing. I would definitely recommend a friend to go there. I love that they allowed me to test drive and give me all car facts. This company is so amazing because not only is it affordable they also go to the DMV and pick up your plates. Which makes it easier on the customer.

A year and a half ago I purchased a 2011 Toyota Camry from you and it was a wonderful experience. This year, I purchased a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee for my son and again it was another excellent experience. The staff was knowledgeable and did everything they could to work out a deal with us and we couldn't be happier! My son loves his jeep and I am a very happy mom!!!

Everything went well. Got up there, filled out a few questions, then we took a test drive and came back. Asked me if I liked the car. Said, "No, I love it." We did more paperwork then went out and Joshua went over everything with me about the car. Came in and finished paperwork. Went over all the payments and coverages etc. Got my keys and we headed home. So far everything is great and I'm so glad I got my Chrysler 300, 2008 beautiful blue color.

Angel did an amazing job helping me get my first car under my name. She worked fast and didn't have us waiting all night. I was able to pick exactly what I wanted and left very satisfied. Christopher was also helpful with checking on our progress and helped with making sure the car was presentable.

5 stars more like 10 stars!! Kevin and Jeff were really on point. Kevin got me started gave me quite a few options on cars to test drive, was great to work with. Jeff finished the deal. I give Drivetime a huge thumbs up. I would highly recommend them. If you're looking for a car just go there and they will hook you up!!! Awesome place!!!

When I took the vehicle on a test drive, I mentioned that I heard something while braking. I was told by the sales associate that it was from the rain as well as the car sitting idle for a while. I purchased the vehicle and noticed that the noise persisted so I contacted Aeverex (the protection plan from DriveTime) within 2 days of the purchase. They directed me to Car-X and after they completed the diagnostic, Car-X found a few things wrong with the tires, wheel balance etc... Needless to say, these things are not covered with Drive Care Protection. I have a $1800.00 of work that needs to be done on the vehicle that I just purchased. No one from DriveTime or Aeverex have offered an explanation and/or solution.

From start to finish DriveTime screwed my in laws. First they went to buy a car that they could afford only to be pressured into buying a car that was double the price. So instead of making 240 dollars a month payments they were forced to make 485 dollars on a 985 dollar a month fixed income. The salesman knew my father in law was a disabled vet and said that they go the extra mile for American vets. Glad he wasn't just a regular disabled man they would have probably stole his wallet! So within the first 2 weeks things began breaking. They paid for additional insurance from Drivetime to cover anything that went wrong only nothing was covered. First the washer fluid pump then the windows then door locks. On and on it went only drivetime never fixed anything. The latest was the heater unit which again is not covered.
After a long talk with my in laws I convinced them to stop making payments until the car got fixed. They spoke with the company and only got told to make the payments. No one wanted to even discuss making any repairs. Drivetime refused to help them or honor their insurance policy. Tonight my father in law's blood pressure dropped to very dangerous levels, so my mother in law took him to the hospital. Not 10 minutes after pulling into the parking lot the car was hooked and gone. The cop at the front desk couldn't even get out the door to ask them for paperwork before they were gone. Yes drivetime uses the absolute worse repo men they can find and in NC you cannot repo from private property without permission which the cop absolutely was not about to give them.
So after hearing this my father in law became very stressed out and will now require more time in the hospital. To make matters worse my mother in law had our girls with her earlier and still had our car seats in her car. Now both are gone and we have to drive a hour north to where the repo company is to get them back cause the repo agent didn't let my in laws get their property out.
Bottom line they are absolute scum who don't care who they screw. If they will do this to a elderly disabled veteran who fought to protect the rights of every American they will do this and more to you. Go anywhere else and you will be treated better and not sold a car that's more than $5000.00 over blue book or a absolutely worthless insurance policy. And no it's not a warranty as I checked and the paperwork clearly states insurance policy, and in that policy everything that broke is supposed to be covered.

Additionally, we generally recommend contacting Bridgecrest (our loan servicing company) as they may be able to provide additional options as well.
In regards to our pricing, our primary goal is to ensure every customer is set up for financial success. We work with all customers to find an affordable and reliable vehicle to meet his or her needs and budget, and we encourage all customers to research all aspects of their purchase prior to sale. In an effort to make the purchasing process as simple and transparent as possible, we utilize NADA Retail Suggested Value when evaluating our pricing, which are within the “fair market range” displayed on the “Buy from a Dealer” page on Kelly Blue Book (KBB). Please keep in mind, the total price of the vehicle can be higher because it sometimes includes optional products such as the Vehicle Protection Plan, Gap Insurance, and GPS service. Additionally, financing options and terms vary by each individual situation.

After purchasing a 2012 Chevrolet Impala from the Riverside location and I started to really look at it, I was shocked to find Trash Under the seats, scratches and visible marks from where an accident was but was never informed. The staff was very helpful but trying to sell me something you already equip in the vehicles is Not ok by any standards. GPS? That I do not appreciate. Now that I'm driving my new car I notice it's not running right and I'm getting hesitation on take off and I can see my tachometer moving around when it shouldn't indicating a misfire. I love the car and will be contacting the dealership about these issues and I hope they are resolved quickly. I am paying A LOT for a used car by financing it so I will take very good care of it. However, I am sorry to hear that you are having any concerns. We do want all of our vehicles to be clean when they leave the lot, however these are pre-owned vehicles and they may show wear and tear form previous owners. In regards to any possible accidents, we do provide an Experian AutoCheck history report that shows all reported accidents and anything not reported we are unable to account for. With the GPS, the GPS coverage is an optional product and the unit is included with every DriveTime vehicle to ensure our vested interest.
When it comes to the mechanical concerns, we do want to ensure the reliability of all vehicles. All DriveTime vehicles are inspected before arriving at the dealership and are accompanied by a 30 day/ 1,500 mile limited warranty. Extremely satisfied doesn't even begin to describe it! They went above and beyond our expectations to make sure we were happy. Including, but not limited to, driving 2 hours each way to pick up a car from another location, then driving another 2 hours each way to a different location when the first car wasn't exactly what we were looking for. They also took their time running different numbers, several times, to get our payments exactly where we wanted them to be. They never once got upset or impatient with us, and they were never pushy with us in an attempt to put us into a more expensive vehicle, or to take on more than we could handle. From start to finish, Howard ** made the experience at Newport News location truly worth the drive. When others denied me for my dream Jeep Grand Cherokee, I was approved at DriveTime. He explained all aspects, making sure I fully understood the contract and went over everything in full detail. I even got a full tank of gas! The first phase of purchase was done quickly and with ease. Did most paperwork and made most of down payment. Then I came back 2 weeks later with rest of down payment and pick up the vehicle. It took hours. The associates ignored me for the most part. They got to me here and there but basically waited for hours and hours.

When we went into the Shadeland store we had an appointment with Todd. He was not there for our scheduled appointment. Bryan helped us and he was amazing. We had to go home to get our title for our trade. When we returned Bryan was helping others and we were stuck with Todd. He was very impatient and didn't seem to know what he was doing. Bryan was wonderful but Todd however wasn't very customer-friendly and didn't seem to care if we bought the car or not. We requested to wait on Bryan but Todd insisted that he needed to help us. It took us from 4:30 pm til 8 pm to get the paperwork finished even though Bryan had 90% completed. At the end Todd listed himself as the salesman. It was Bryan that sold us the Dodge Journey not Todd. I would give Bryan a 20 out of 10. Todd I would rate a -30 out 10.

I hate buying a car! I hate car stealers, I mean dealers :-) and the entire long drawn out experience! It has been 9 years since we have purchased a new/used car. I was dreading it. Pleasantly surprised! That is how I would rate my experience at DriveTime. Called and spoke with Jason who was very professional and honest. He made me feel better about the process of buying a car through DriveTime. Justin then was very patient as my wife test drove 6 cars. He was informative and had a great sense of humor.
Malcombe was the man! He made all of the numbers come together and kept our payment where we wanted it. He even gave us more for our trade. Malcombe was just a true professional and I appreciated all of his hard work to make the experience a positive one. I don't remember the names of the two ladies that helped us or the GM, but everyone that was there on Friday night 2/24/17 was just super nice. Totally different experience than the old pushy salesman experience I have had for years. I want to thank DriveTime and especially Jason, Justin and Malcombe for changing my attitude towards car buying. We are pleased with our 2015 Nissan Altima and our experience with DriveTime. Car finance - It was OK but I feel like I shouldn't have had to pay my old bill on previous lease and the car selections are not that great. Everything was OK. I hope the car lasts me. I'm scared from online reviews.

DO NOT EVER PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM HERE. High mileage vehicles that break down shortly after getting only for them to temporarily fix the problem and it break down again. Vehicles have no trade-in value by time you pay it down to be able to trade in because it's on its last leg, and they know it. Financed a 2004 Cadillac with 80,000 miles. Had to replace engine twice, fuel pump, catalytic converter, motor, fans, etc... work totaling close to $9,000. Since my dad is on the Champ program he should've been able to trade in the car with no deposit once he paid it down to $4500, but nope. They requested an additional $2666 because their piece of junk car they sold us for an overpriced amount is only worth $500???
Their customer service sucks, called Corporate to make them aware of a issue at the DriveTime location in Austin, TX where the manager promised a car could be delivered from a location in Dallas to keep my father's business only to be told they wouldn't when he found a car he actually wanted. I was told and I quote, "Well why don't you just travel to the store where they have it?" Wow great looking out for your already angered customers. At that point I knew my dad wouldn't purchase anything else from there. I told him to just go to CarMax because they have new vehicles with less miles and all around better customer service. They didn't mind taking our money for the down payment though. Still haven't got that back despite me telling them we no longer want to deal with them at all due to the poor business structure and shady dealings.

However, due to the nature of pre-owned vehicles, it is very difficult for us to predict exactly if or when these issues might occur. For this reason, each vehicle sold from our lot includes an initial 30-day/1,500-mile limited warranty, as well as an optional extended warranty that is available to our financing customers for added peace of mind.

My sales lady was Terria **, at the Midlothian, IL Location. I honestly can say Terria made the buying experience easy & professional. She was never pushy & she didn't mind explaining over & over in detail about the vehicle that I wanted. When it was time for me to Pick-up my Vehicle Mazda 2 Touring 2013 on Feb. 4, 2017. I can only rave about the customer service from the sales rep that assisted me. I had gone a month prior to making my purchase, and the rep was very personable, helpful, and placed no pressure on me. Because I was indecisive, I did not make my purchase that day, but returned a month later and asked for her. Again, I spent at least 4 hours looking and test driving various cars, and she never once pressured me or pushed me to make a decision. I would recommend her to others looking for a vehicle.
My issues, however, started 10 days after my purchase. The check engine light came on, the display board kept going off and on, the remote starter starts the car but then it cuts off within 30 seconds. I don't know if this is safety feature because the check engine light is on. It never did that prior to the engine light not coming on. Also, the service airbag light came on and stays on. With the 30 day warranty, it explicitly says airbags are not covered, so I am feeling bummed about that and I understand it is costly to fix it. Currently, the vehicle is in the shop where it has been for the last 4 days having the mentioned issues addressed. I am praying I did not make a bad choice in my vehicle selection.

I've known for some time I have TERRIBLE credit, but after seeing the commercials for DriveTime I figured to give it a shot. Once I was approved, I thought I would be hounded by obnoxious sales reps. My Sales rep, Britney, was by far the most helpful, NON OBNOXIOUS rep ever. :) I told her up front what I can afford, what I had to work with in terms of a down payment, and what I like. She sent numerous email of cars with options I would like, and actually listened to my hesitations and things I don't like in a vehicle. She was always attentive, quick to respond whether via email or phone, and if she didn't have an answer, she was honest about it and would promptly get back to me with one. This is how car buying should be for those of us who are limited with our financing options.

After seeing a few of your humorous TV advertisements for the past month and being in the market for a used car to replace a vehicle which died, I inquired online as to what DriveTime was all about. I received an immediate callback from your company and was told a new dealership was opening the next day in an area close to me. I scheduled an appointment and lo and behold I was the first customer at this new location. The smell of fresh paint was still drying I think. Everyone was very accommodating and anxious to help. At first I was just looking to see if you had a vehicle that I would be interested in. The manager introduced me to Tyreshia, my sales advisor who was very knowledgeable, patient and an absolute sweetheart. She thoroughly explain the whole process.
After her interview with me we were able to find three vehicles that met my interest. Tyreshia patiently took me for test drives on all the vehicles. I really had no plan to purchase that day but, I was able to find the type of car I was originally looking for a GMC Arcadia. It had everything I was looking for at a better than market price. No hassle. I was able to acquire reasonable financing through DriveTime with a very minimal down payment and it was a very easy and enjoyable experience all around. My experience at the dealership was painless. It was quick, straight to the point, very cut and dry. My salesman was Paul **. He was very friendly and helpful to me. There was no pressure for me to buy a car. They had many cars to choose from. My whole experience was good from start to finish. The only thing I wish I could change was the payment options to monthly instead of bi-weekly. Makes it hard for me being single and little income but overall they was very straightforward and let me know everything upfront. No hidden agenda. I liked that about DriveTime I knew before I arrived to the lot what to expect.

I was given misinformation multiple times. Information was withheld until signing. Inaccurate information was given multiple times. My experience was stressful and caused me great anxiety. There was little to no service rendered to make up for the poor service I was given and unprofessional behavior of the sales agent. If I wasn't in great need of a vehicle I would not have completed my purchase. I would not refer anyone to DriveTime.

I have this vehicle (2005 Honda Accord) on lease set to expire August, 2017 which will require major repair: rack & pinion, serpentine belt. Aeverex and Drivetime have REFUSED to pay… OR assist in paying for these repairs which are going to cost more than $1,100. I have not abused or misused the car which had 130,000 miles on the odometer when I signed the lease. I have just realized that this car may have been in a wreck. I NEED dependable, reliable transportation to see my doctors but this car has had maintenance problems, and I paid a deductible, but now DriveTime and Aeverex refuse to help. I will also have to pay extra for insurance on rental car even though DriveTime provided me with insurance!! I am very unhappy.

I just want to say the experience I have had purchasing my very first car was not a good one, I have had issues with the heat since I got the vehicle and it's an ongoing problem that makes the vehicle undrivable in cold weather. As well as most of the routine maintenance was never done before day of purchase they did not tell me of any of this when I bought the car and now I'm fighting to get maintenance done on it because I should not have to pay for this less than two months into a purchase, not only with that but there are a bunch of other mechanical issues with the vehicle that I'd have to pay for Out of my own pocket.
I'm planning to talk to a lawyer about having a car that I cannot drive when it's cold out... If I wanted a summer stroll car I wouldn't be living someplace cold and I would have gotten something other than an SUV. I highly advise that no person ever go to that dealer. It's a waste of your time and money. I'm looking at over 700 in repairs after my warranty on my heat is up.

First I will start off by listing Pros and then I will do Cons. Pros: Customer service was EXCELLENT. I'm from NC but brought my vehicle in SC... I came down initially on a Saturday to the Greenville SC location. I had already went online and got my approval and someone in the Arizona office contacted and said it was true that I was approved. I went down and we was greeted at the door, took my proof of income etc... etc. I had already seen the vehicle I wanted online so I wasn't interested in anything else... just my Equinox. I was allowed to look at the vehicle and do about a 15 mile test drive.
I noticed the car wasn't that clean but Gary my salesman said they would detail the car and engine before I got it if I chose to get it. I went over down payment info with the manager Carnegie and was satisfied... my credit is bad so I was just happy someone was willing to help me especially with a 2014 at that!! I let him know I didn't have funds yet but would be back by the following Thursday and left. I got everything in order and came back Thursday, took maybe 2 hours and I was GONE in my new new!!
Cons: Okay so I told you I went to see about my car on a Saturday and then brought it the following Thursday... so in between that time my car price went down by $800 but they would not change my paperwork. They would not honor what I had seen online, I was given some poor excuse that loan paperwork had already been written up and couldn't be changed... yeah okay. Next, I asked the salesman Gary could he have my car cleaned and was told they don't have a service center there BUT he did try to wipe it off bless his heart... but I traveled an hour for this vehicle. The least you could have done was ran it up the street to a car wash. Come on now!!
Next I was told that Gary (once again) was going to fill my vehicle up with gas, I watched him walk around asking several associates if they had seen the gas card which they all said no. He walked outside and came back in and told me my vehicle was ready, not realizing I had been watching him!! He was hesitant, but told me the car was ready and then added really quickly that it was going to need a lil gas. I let the comment slide and got in my new ride, got down the street and the car was dang near on E!! THIS is unacceptable and I would definitely like the company to send me a $30 complimentary gas card. I am an out of town customer, that vehicle should have had a full tank. Next, you guys have to detail these cars. My previous car was from CarMax and that thing was SPOTLESS. Make us feel a little appreciated why don't ya?
Again, overall I'm pretty happy. It's a used car so I know there will be minor issues in the future which is fine. If I am given the gas card I will definitely be recommending several clients your way, I work for a huge hospital and word of mouth recommendations are the best!!! My vehicle is very nice and runs smoothly, thanks so much for helping me in my time of need.

When a customer is first approved online for a certain down payment amount, that amount is subject to change depending on different factors verified at the dealership. Some of these factors include, but are not limited to: proof of income, credit score, and vehicle price. I apologize that you felt that we were less than transparent with our down payment quotes.
When it comes to the look and cosmetics of the vehicle, we do want our customers to love the look, however as we work with pre-owned vehicles, there may be signs of wear and tear from previous owners. There are certain aspects of the cosmetics of the vehicle that we cannot address, however this is no excuse for what you have experienced. And when it comes to any fuel in the vehicle, all vehicles are provided with at least a half tank of gas before leaving the dealership. We bought the car a year ago. It has bad head lights that are 400.00 each. That the warranty won't cover. Then a proportion valve went bad on the brakes another 1209.00 for that repair which the warranty didn't cover. Now the tie rod ends are bad. Another 600.00 to replace and once again warranty wont cover. And power steering hoses are bad not covered. And last but not least door sensor is bad. Another 300.00 to be fixed and not covered. This is the third car bought from them. First 2 were great but the warranty company has changed since then. So my advise don't buy from DRIVETIME OR BRIDGECREST. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF.

First of all two years ago I purchased two vehicles from DriveTime with full intentions of everything being great. Well that all changed my one vehicle needs new brakes every other month and my other vehicle physically hurts me to drive and that is only the half of it. About a year or so having the vehicles my husband and I have fallen on very hard times and have had to chose to pay car or rent and food, rent and food have won. We asked for some help repeatedly from Bridgecrest like reducing payment or moving late payments to the end of loan and we kept getting same answer of "sorry you are in a hardship we can't help you until you are out of the hardship."
Well finally in September 2016 my husband landed a job so I called Bridgecrest and they finally helped and we were doing great. Then the holidays came and my husband's job told him they were stopping his job until after the holidays. So I have tried really hard to keep afloat with three kids, I am two months late on rent, hardly any food, electric shut off notices and afraid of losing my cars that help me provide most of my income.
My husband finally got another job at the end of January now been two weeks but doesn't get paid until the end of February. I am scared to call Bridgecrest because they are rude and don't care but I also can't afford to lose my car as I drive for Uber and need it. I just need a little more help. How do I get it without being belittled by Bridgecrest? I have also been looking for a real job. I apply to over 15 jobs a day and have been since I lost job in June. I just need help to bring current until end of this month. Please let me know what I can do?

Well here we go...bought a used Volkswagen Tiguan 6 months ago from DriveTime. Week 1...sun shield on the sunroof broke. Week 2...oil pan gasket failed...100 bucks! Week 3...it blew a coil pack and stranded me...150 bucks. Week 4...blew 2 more coils packs...100 bucks. I figured out how to fix it myself. Stranded both times! 2 months in...water pump failed...stranded...100 dollar deductible. 4 months in...another water pump...stranded. 5 months an oil pressure sensor failure...85 bucks. 6 months in...came out from work and the oil pump failed...it stranded me again! Needs new engine. DriveTime's warranty company sent a horrible used engine from a junk yard that was leaking from everywhere.
The garage that is fixing it was so surprised at the quality they sent me pics. Now I'm gonna have a car with a very used engine and NO idea how many miles are on the junk yard engine. Do NOT buy a Volkswagen!!! I got rid of a 25 yr old Toyota 4Runner to get this car. I would have driven the Toyota to California!!! I would not drive this car to Nashville! I live in Knoxville Tn. I have had the distinct pleasure of knocking DriveTime out of 2 new car sales because of this piece of **. And will continue to persuade my friends NOT to buy from DriveTime.

I want to assure you that we strive to provide reliable vehicles for all customers and to help demonstrate this all of our vehicles are inspected. However, as we deal with pre-owned vehicles, we cannot foresee if or when any repair concerns arise post-sale. For this reason, we also include a 30 day/1,500 mile limited warranty with our finance customers having the option to add-on additional coverage for further peace of mind. Please bear in mind that when a component is covered under the terms of the warranty, there is a deductible that is assessed, per the warranty contract. This deductible can vary depending on the repair facility; typically is it $100.00 at an in-network repair facility and $200.00 at an out-of-network repair facility. Additionally, under the warranty terms, they are able to source and use parts that are new, refurbished, or remanufactured at their discretion. These parts are inspected and are typically provided with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty.

I bought a minivan Aug 2015. Three months after buying vehicle I reapplied and was approved for 17500. When I went to same dealer w/ down payment I was told it was against their policy to have 2 financed vehicles for single person. So this shows on my credit. Then in Oct 2015 my dad passed away and I called for payoff. Told me payoff 16500 even though vehicle only cost 10500. Would not take off interest even though paying cash.
Now it's Feb 2017 and I got behind 2 payments for losing job and health reasons and they are constantly harassing me. Made 2 payments back to back and yet was told I need increase my payments from 210 every 2 weeks to 260 to 310 every 2 weeks. Very unprofessional people work in office. Also I traded in a vehicle and they never took it out of my name before taking it to auction. Would never recommend them to anyone.

CONSUMER BEWARE!!! I have never heard of a company completely denying fault. I am sure this review will never be seen by the public eye, however, I am going to attempt it anyway. When paperwork is presented that clearly proves a car was rightfully insured, the insurance company confirms they notified the lender regarding the insurance, and the company still determines that you were in the wrong... definitely tells me to beware of and tell everyone I know about the experience of not only having your car taken two weeks before the lease ends, having your driveway and lawn tore up by the "repo" man, having to go an entire weekend without a vehicle only to be told you have to pay over $600 to get your car back because Drivetime screwed up... No no no. Check all your other options before ever going with this company!

I want to assure you that we want to work with our customers as best as possible when it comes to situations where the vehicle may need to be recovered. Our advisors make multiple attempts to contact the customer when the insurance that we have on file becomes invalid. Typically, insurance companies will send the customer the information and it is up to the customer to either have their insurance company forward off their insurance declaration to DriveTime or the customer may send it to us themselves. Without this paperwork we are unable to verify that the customer is maintaining the required full-coverage insurance on the vehicle.
If a vehicle is recovered, the customer is responsible for any applicable repossession or impound fees. While we do attempt to work with our customers with payments and paying said fees, the contractual agreement would still need to be met.

Good experience second time around. Salesperson was professional and very knowledgeable about vehicle. I did not know how to work the lights or open the gas tank... or have not seen under hood. I have to read book to see how to open hood. I guess experience is the best teacher.

We had bought this 2013 Nissan altima almost a year ago and have nothing but issues from it. Then it catches on fire while driving and the flames go out. The insurance company says they can't cover it because they can't see where the flames came from. So DriveTime said to have it taken apart to see if it can be found. Still can't find it but you can smell it. Even the adjuster told them this. Also it's not driveable because it's a fire risk and if it's driven my insurance won't cover the car.
Was told by DriveTime that they were going to swap out the car but now they want a second option from one of their shops. I couldn't even take it to the dealer for a second opinion and you would think the insurance adjuster word and findings would be enough for them but not. Long story short they don't stand behind their junk. I did call my attorney and she did say they were entitled to a second opinion. This so ridiculous considering you can Google this issue. It's a known one. Even Nissan has no fix for it.

Still trying to understand why I could not get the price of the car I pick... I was told that I will be paying 100,995 which was on the car the day I pick it out. The day I came back to purchase the car the price tag 100.955 was still on the car. But I went to sign the paperwork. The car was 11.200.00... This is not right. Then the manager told he could change the price because my rep did not place something on the day I look at it. Then tell to bring the car back for the next few week for gas... I will never purchase a car from you guys again and I will my problem on social media... To let guys know not to come to DriveTime. I worked with Valencia initially but everyone there is great and fast. I was able to get into the vehicle I wanted with no hassle. They even held the car for me for the week for only $100. They are very nice and attentive team. I would definitely come back when it's time to upgrade. Was a pretty smooth transaction other than being at the dealership for 4 hours. All the paperwork was turned in the day before so not sure why it took so long. The car was dirty and unvacuumed so that was a letdown. It also had no gas so we had to drive the salesman to the gas station and take him back so that took even more time...

If Kalyb hadn't been the person I was dealing with, it probably wouldn't have been as pleasant. He is upbeat and easy to deal with. The downside is, as much as I tried to send everything ahead of time, answer every question asked, and give ample time to work out financing and terms, the process still took me about 2.5 hours or so. I had wanted to see 2 cars, one was brought over from Katy. However, the other one on the Southwest lot was then sent to Katy. That confused me a little, as I had wanted to decide between the two.
Anyway, car dealerships need to take a little cue from Mattress Mack at Gallery Furniture. Looking, negotiating terms, signing papers, etc. is going to take some time. Even though I know I should have been able to get in and out in 30 minutes, I wasn't, so you're just there... waiting. Gallery figured out how to engage the customer by having food and refreshments for them. I'm not expecting a gourmet buffet, but soft drinks, sandwiches, nachos, etc. Something would have helped me not start to drift off in my thoughts. It was meal time and I was hungry, but I needed to wait. (Yes, I was offered water. I also saw a popcorn machine with no popcorn and coffee pots with nothing in them. I don't drink coffee. Soft drink, maybe, would be nice.) Hope you'll give Kalyb a raise and take my suggestions to heart.

I very dissatisfied with the service I received from DriveTime. The rims on the 2011 HHRLT were weather beat meaning multiple places on the chrome rims had corrosion. I spoke to the sales rep before I drove off the lot. Was told the person that could handle the complaint wasn't available. I came back the next day & was told it wasn't really anything that could be done. I then found a few numbers on my paperwork that I called & were given the run around also. I then called Drive Time Service dept explained to them my complaint. I was told to bring it in so they could take a look at what I was talking about. They agreed that the rims were in bad condition. They took pictures to email to their boss. I was told I would definitely be receiving a call from a supervisor.
Till this day no one has done anything or called me. Also the first car wash a gray in color substance ran down from the Chrome rims onto the tires .my guess was something was put over the corrosion to try to cover the worn areas. I love my car but don't think it's fair that I pay over $30,000 for a 5 yrs old car with eye sores as rims & DriveTime has ignored my complaint.
Updated on 01/30/2017: I was prepared to exchange the car before the 5th day. In the meantime I was given several telephone numbers to call while being assured that the problem would be resolved. I love my car so I was waiting for the problem to be corrected. That's the only reason it wasn't returned within that time frame. Again another disappointment after the 5 days. Now no one returned any of my calls only to use the 5 day return policy. With all the business DriveTime has & such a great reputation because of the customers seems like such a small problem would have easily been corrected. SMH. Just bad business & no care for the customers.

Although the overall process was fine with regards to the customer service, finance, etc. I am not happy about having to come home and detail the SUV we purchased. The outside had been washed, some time before. Certainly wasn't exactly clean but it was ok. The interior on the other hand. Dirty. I mean really dirty. Gum in a cup holder, had not been vacuumed in who knows how long, the interior windows were filthy. Trash was found in door pockets. I asked about it being cleaned before we took it. Was told they don't have anyone on staff to clean cars, they use a vendor to wash them occasionally. At most they could do was vacuum it, which wasn't done.
I am 36 years old, I have purchased 8 cars from dealerships since I was 18. None of them left the lot like this. I get that the company wants to keep costs down but putting dirty cars on the road isn't acceptable. I should not have to put in 2 hours on the interior alone cleaning it the day after we bought it. Tomorrow I'll put 6 hours into detailing the rest of it. So in closing I hope that the company will either hire a person in their locations or use a vendor to detail cars locally when one is purchased.

After purchasing my first vehicle from them in October and having a wonderful experience, I was involved in an auto accident and my car was totaled 3 months later. Thank god for the Gap Insurance! Within 4 days of the accident I was able to go back to the dealership and Amber assisted me in finding a better car than I originally had. I put in a app and was called by Charles within 10 mins told me I was approved for the car I wanted with a down payment of $1450. I was excited, it was the car I wanted. Sent all the information he needed from me and was told by his supervisor they will be taking the car off the website and will charge my card the next day so I can pick it up Tuesday (lies) then the the next day Charles called me and advised me that due to tax season my down payment went up to $1750 as of midnight the night before. For me, that was very weird because once you tell someone the price of something that's what it should be, you can't change it in the middle. Do not trust this place, take your business elsewhere if not you will regret it. Normally I don't do reviews but I had to do one for this company. Bad business at the Langhorne Pa dealership.

We had a great experience. We found the car we liked. The crew went to work on the numbers. Was very fast at getting it all together. We wanted to think on it all. Called the next day. Went back. Told them we had a few questions they answered them for us. We ask to pick the car up on Monday. We decided to pick on Friday instead. Called ask them to get the car ready. They did and we have a new car. They were all great to work with.

I went on 1-14-2017 to look at vehicles I might be looking to purchase. Joey from the East Colonial drive location in Orlando Florida was my salesperson. He stayed in communication with me regarding my approval until I could get to the dealership. He, along with John, Adam, and Lelitza made this the easiest car I have ever bought. I will never forget DriveTime and the wonderful experience we have had there. I purchased a vehicle on 11/30/2016 and 41 days later the timing belt broke -- they worked with me diligently to get the issue fixed. Where do I begin? My auto loan matured on 12/31/16 with a balance owing and I fully understood that as well. Last night I submitted my normal payment and noticed two different amounts owed so I called today to figure this out. I was reminded that my loan matured (which I knew) but then the representative proceeds to tell me that I have 90 days to pay the remaining balance if I ever want to see my title. If I pay it off AFTER 90 days I will NEVER receive the title to my car, my car will be considered illegal to drive and I'll never be allowed to sell or register my car (the representatives EXACT words).
Basically if I don't pay within 90 days then my title will be burned, simply becomes non-existent!!! THIS IS AUTO FRAUD!!! Regardless of when the remaining amount gets paid you cannot withhold a vehicle title!!! Are you kidding me??! She also tells me I'll receive negative remarks on my credit report. Well guess what? Every time I did a deferment it showed up as "late payment" on my report!! I've faithfully paid on my vehicle for 4.5 years and they have already damaged my credit reports AND would never relinquish my title if my car was to finish being paid off after March 31.
I am in utter disbelief over how this has all went. Just to walk away with even worse credit than I had when I started. The whole reason I went with them was to improve my score. DriveTime SERIOUSLY needs to do a better job at laying it out for people. Just so everyone knows, if you have a balance due when your loan matures you have 90 days to pay the balance otherwise kiss your title goodbye. I'm just beyond mortified. A repo man I know says this is all a scare tactic and a sick one at that. I was advised to contact my attorney general. Way to burn a customer relationship after 4.5 years.

On the whole, an excellent experience, even though the first vehicle had to be returned because of a broken irreplaceable part. Pet peeve: neither vehicle had mats and neither vehicle had been professionally cleaned. Also, as a part of the vehicle test prior to signing, we did not turn on the radio. If we had, I would have heard the blown passenger speaker, which makes listening to either the connected phone, the radio or media music impossible. I will see if silver rock will cover it, but I am doubtful.

I never write reviews but I don't want anyone to make the mistake I did and buy a car from DriveTime! I have spent countless hours on the phone with DriveTime and Avirex their warranty company. They sold me a Jeep Compass that I have put thousands into since I bought it. They have put 3 transmissions in it and still the light is on and I can't drive it on the highway. Now they want me to take it to another mechanic to get their opinion. Meanwhile I'm stuck and every time I try to call to talk to them I get someone new who has no idea and just sounds like a customer service robot. Don't buy from them. The only reason they have good reviews is because they take money off what you owe on your contract if you write a good review. I have already spoken with an attorney and they have a contract you sign when you buy the car that is like 20 pages long and pretty much says you can't sue them for anything. Don't make my mistake!!!

My wife and I unexpectedly came into the car market. Our car was totaled and we needed something affordable, reliable, and QUICK! Having two cars is extremely important for us and time was running out before the start of the new week. Vaguely, I remembered an AD I saw on TV for DriveTime so I visited their website where I was able to easily and quickly find out if I was approved. It was nice I could do that BEFORE going all the way out there. We arrived about 6 to the Olathe location where we were greeted very warmly by Sales Manager Trinidad. He was so friendly and professional. He took us to Katie **, our sales rep who then helped us into something that fit us and our budget perfectly.
Katie and Trinidad both were super helpful and patient with us while we got all required documents and while we discussed our options and the best route for us to take. We never felt pressured and that was the best part! We will definitely recommend DriveTime to our friends and family and buy from them again next time we're in the market for a car!

My whole experience with DriveTime the night of the purchase great. The staff was courteous and kind. The vehicle I had originally picked and was told there was one on the lot turned out not to be available at all. I was also told that as long as my income was 2000+ the amount of deposit I had would work. It did not. The vehicle I chose at the time was a decent deal. I'm unfamiliar with buying vehicles. I have a vehicle and a very, very long time I feel like I was swindled. I got the car home the next morning. I finally got to drive around and really look at it. It was very dark and cold the night before. The interior is horrible. Very dirty. Stained seats. The overhead was all steamed up. The engine vibrates really bad when idling. The sun visor on the driver side was held on with a nail. Blue Book value for this vehicle a little over 6000. The vehicle has 108000 miles plus the 2008 my payments are higher than I wanted. Vehicle's condition is horrible.
The stereo system and it is horrible. The speakers are all blown. I have a mechanic go over it. There's a good friend of my family been a mechanic for 48 years told me to take it. I'm very disappointed in the overall outcome of the purchase. Very upset because the night before I was so happy to be so disappointed the next day. I expect something will be done to correct this problem if not the vehicle will be back before Thursday. I need reliable transportation. I do not want to be an overextended. I explained to the gentleman all of them that I spoke with prior to going to the car lot exactly what I had. When I explained to the young man the vehicle I was interested in, the amount of income I have, and the amount of down payment I had, he said that would be fine because of the amount of income I had every month.
I get there everything changed. They did not have the one I really was interested in and I was told that if I did want that it could be gotten from the other lot but it was going to cost me more down. Contradicting story that was my very first disappointment to see the actual interior and the condition of everything and the vibration in the motor when idling and a damn nail holding my sun visor. I'm very very dissatisfied. What's all the extra coverage and stuff I actually had put on the vehicle and the ticket price for this vehicle overtime EvanTubeHD. The amount is almost $32,000. Unacceptable. I will not pay $32,000 for a $6,000 vehicle.
I was not aware that my interest rate because of my credit. I'm sure 23.21% unbelievable. I need a vehicle same type for work and personal. This Toyota RAV4 that I was sold will not do. The vehicle will be returned before Thursday. I do hope there is something we can do to fix this problem when I returned to the lot. Sincerely, a very disappointed customer.

From the time I completed the online app to driving off the lot everyone was very helpful and made purchasing my vehicle easy. Staff was not like other car lots where they hassle you and they allowed me to take my time.

Inaccurate information. No one had taken responsibility for their mistakes. A few of the so called sales managers didn't know how to talk to you as a customer. They didn't care about my situation. I appeared at the dealership 4 times before I was able to finally drive the car off the lot because every time I came to pick it up it was something else I needed. This could have been taken care of from day one.

Car was very dirty. Air filters needed replaced. They were very dirty. Maintenance was not done on this car. Had to have timing belt replaced. Was making noise. Needs tune up. People were very nice but they need to clean and do inspections on their cars.

Well I put this short and simple. I had two jobs. Needed transportation. Someone told me to try DriveTime. Put in all my information and they said I was approved for **. Went there, showed them the paper and we started looking at cars. The first 3 cars I went to look at, they could not get them started. So as I am sitting with their rep in his cubicle. I saw a Scion tC that just came in. Looked at the car, liked it. Decided to go with that car. I put 1500 down and the car was a total 14,000. 2011 Scion tC with 85000 miles. Here's where they get you, my loan rate came up to be 26%. Per diem (Per day charged interest) $8.24. The loan total came up to be around 16,500. With all the stuff they added in and yeah you can't take those options out. I don't or wouldn't even use the extra options but still could not get them off. Now I'm stuck on a 6 year loan while paying $425 a month on a car that is not even worth half of that.
I've been paying the car for about 2 years now and as it did raise my credit score. Now my loan is at around 13000 because I've been paying double the amount. Can't refinance because the banks say the car is worth 5000 with the current mileage 110,000 and I still owe 13,000. So I'm stuck paying the rest of the car off or selling the car and pay the rest of it off. Either way I was screwed over and hope someone in my shoes does not go with DriveTime. I've talked to several banks in my area trying to get refinanced or a new loan and they all say DriveTime is the worst and they see a lot of people with negative equity coming from them. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Let me tell you about my experience at the Live Oak, TX Drive Time location! When I tell you it was beyond amazing! Words cannot express how happy I am with their Customer Service and able to get me approved with a car I very happy with! Picture it, San Antonio, TX, Christmas 2016. So before I went to Drive Time, I had a 2009 Dodge Charger that was paid for. I bought it brand new in 2009. Let's fast forward to December 2016, a week before Christmas. My Dodge Charger engine light came on. So, dealing with the holiday approaching, I had paid all of family gifts and was left pretty much broke, not knowing what to do. As my engine light came on, my Charger started to act extremely weird and had me nervous to drive. I had to get to work and needed my car. So I would only drive it to work, hoping that I would get there safely.
On or about December 22, I saw a commercial for Drive Time and decided to go to the website. As I am filling out the application, I didn't fill it out all the way, but decided to submit it anyway. CarMax had declined me due to my credit score so I already knew Drive Time would as well. I then received numerous phone calls and voicemails telling me to give them a call. Once again, I brushed them off. I didn't need to hear them say "sorry you are not approved". I was already stressed with my current situation and couldn't take anymore bad news. On December 26, 2016, I had taken my Dodge Charger to get the engine a diagnostic test. The technician was talking to me about my car and what needed to be done, but I was not understanding anything that he was saying. All I heard was "you need to take it to an engine shop to get it repaired".
From that point, I knew it was going to be expensive and I couldn't deal with hearing how much it was going to cost. So, as I got home, frustrated, I decided to call Drive Time back. My mindset was already ready for bad news, but the customer service was very friendly and was able to schedule me an appointment. I informed her my situation (poor thing) and she told me "everything you just told me, tell them at the dealership and they will be able to work with you". In my mind, I was like "yeah right! She doesn't want to hear my sad story". So, I drive to Drive Time in my Charger praying once again that I make it. Now granted, I was able to drive my Charger, but I was just nervous. I walk in and Fred greeted me with open arms! We spoke, I told him my issue and then his Manager came and asked me questions.
Long story short, I informed them I was not able to afford a down payment. When they found out that my Charger was paid off, they did an appraisal. After looking at two cars, and test driving both, I fell in love with the 2013 Passat. Thinking that nothing was going to go my way, the Manager came up to me and told me the pricing and financing. At this time, I am just looking on the payment for how much the cost was since I knew I didn't want to pay no more than $350.00 a month. When he told me my appraisal price for my Charger, I was actually shocked because I thought it would have been lower. And when he informed me of my monthly payments, I was even more excited! Overall, I walked out of the dealership, trading my car in and not putting any money down!
Fred, the Manager (forgot his name but he had a bald head and chin hair) were truly amazing and friendly and helpful. I felt comfortable around them and so thankful that I was honest with them. Drive Time is a lifesaver that will work with any customer as long as you are honest. Their whole team at the Live Oak location make you feel comfortable and are not out to get you just to make a sale. They truly want you to be satisfied with what vehicle you get. They are extremely thorough as well.
Another thing I love about Drive Time is that Fred called me two days later just to check up on me and my vehicle and to see how my experience with driving was and stated that he will call back next week and monthly just to make sure their customer is doing okay. I love it! The customer service I received is beyond amazing and other car dealerships should think about adapting to what Drive Time has to offer. Thank you so much for all you have done for me!

Initially, I should have known there may be issues because upon arrival at the entity, the first greeting from my Salesperson Nick was "you just getting here?" This after travelling over 80 miles. He later apologized for the comment. I return on the third day after purchase to exchange my vehicle for the exact same vehicle but two years newer. The reason I thought it would not be a problem is because the 2013 Spark purchased was $300 higher than the 2015 Spark that I wanted. Logic and reason would dictate that this exchange should not have posed a problem. Even though the Finance person and other Sales Staff initially indicated it could be done, it was not done and could not be done unless I added an additional $100 to the previously paid $500 for the 2013 Spark.
The Finance person attempted to give some lame explanation of the length of time a vehicle has been in the lot and that constitute the fact as to why he could not do an exchange without an additional $100. He did say that the 5 day return meant only that a customer may return a vehicle but not the type exchange I wanted. He then went on to say after that verbal exchange that we could try and find you another vehicle!
With that comment, I turn my back as he was speaking and walked away because what had just transpired in succession of one statement against another, made no sense, especially when keeping the same type, make & model vehicle was not the primary reason for the Exchange. If I could have gotten into a newer vehicle that was price $300 lower than the older vehicle I purchased... This was a no brainer. I am very disappointed and have every intention on taking this issue up with the General Manager! (GM) Please forward a copy of this correspondence to the GM and Public Relations Liaison. Thank you!

I want to assure you that we strive to provide all of our customers with affordable transportation options. The down payment amount can vary from vehicle to vehicle and is dependent on different factors, including, but not limited to: vehicle price, proof of income, credit score, proof of residence, and income level. These factors must be verified at the dealership, and are subject to change.
In regards to returning your vehicle, we do offer our customers a 5-day return period known as our Vehicle Return Program (VRP). This program allows customers to return their vehicle within the first five (5) days or 300 miles and receive a full refund of their down payment. Please know that this is also subject to change at the dealership, should any damage be present on the vehicle.
