    Excellent customer service. They gave me a chance when no one else would as I have no credit because I am very young. At first we couldn't do it because insurance for me was going to be 500$ a month and the car had too many issues. Then the manager and my mother sat down and found another car, newer and nicer, in Tampa, FL. Called another insurance company recommended by DT and got the payment down to 340$ a month. The manager drove to Tampa and picked up the car and had it back by the time they closed that night. Everything in the end worked out better all the way around. Will definitely recommend this store to others as it was recommended to me from a few guys that I work with. Thank you very, very much.

    I purchased the vehicle in February. I have missed three days of work. Me and my children were stuck in the heat. They refuse to help get anything fix. I’m making payments on a car that I can’t drive. They are a rip off. Please do not purchase any cars from them. I am now seeking legal advice. I’m making payments on a car that I can’t even drive.     I recently accompanied my 77 year old mother to DriveTime after she had been approved online to purchase a car from them. Upon arrival the staff were very friendly. In fact by far this has been the easiest car shopping experience I have ever seen. Overall the only downfall to this experience was the price, my mother purchased a 2014 Nissan Altima S with no bells and whistles, the sticker price on this car at the time was $13,295.00. The amount we financed was $18,944.20 at an interest rate of 21.429% High Right but that's not what got us, by the time the paperwork was finished and the SilverRock DriveCare PowerTrain Protection and the SilverRock GAP Coverage was added in the total my mother will have paid for this car is $33,430.20 which is now double what the sticker price was, not to mention the BBV of this car in its current condition is 6 to 9 thousand dollars, and a brand new 2018 in the same class only retails for $25,000.00.

    This is ludicrous. So buyer beware. If you want to stay in a decent range of the sticker price then avoid the extra stuff such as DriveCare PowerTrain and the SilverRock Gap, these 2 items alone increased my mother’s number of payments from 91 to 146 and took her loan term from 42 to 67. The good news is that we have a five day window to return the vehicle and we are seriously considering that option. Look at your numbers people, ask questions, because our sales guy was awesome but he failed to point out what the final price would be.

    I called the Fresno location and spoke to a rep named Eric who assisted me with my questions regarding a purchase. I let him know my last purchase had been through Carvana and he let me know that they are sister companies. I was pleased with my last purchase and level of customer service they had provided so I assumed the same would be delivered here. BOY WAS I WRONG. During our conversation, we were going over the payment amounts and I voiced concerned over the higher priced cars with higher mileage than what I saw with Carvana. I let him know I would still look around and call back.

    The very next morning, a sales manager by the name of Jesse called to follow up on our conversation. He was extremely nice and was able to answer any questions that I had. I happened to mention the high monthly rate and he explained that he could lower the payment by up to 45 dollars, lower the apr, extend the first payment out, among other things. He is what sold me on coming to DriveTime. During the conversation, he mentioned that the car could only be held for 3 days and that the office was closed on Sundays. He mentioned the office was open until 800pm but he was leaving at 600pm. He mentioned that my sales rep would be there to assist me.

    I drove 5 hours by myself to Fresno to make the cutoff in time. I arrived to DriveTime around 6 pm. To my astonishment Eric AND Jesse was not there. The two ladies in the front were polite but had no idea I was coming and so the paperwork was not ready and had to be entered which irritated me. When it came down to the pricing- the numbers were WAY off. I was being quoted over 60 dollars more a month and a $200.00 increased deposit. I let the lady know that was not what I had discussed with the sales manager and that I would not have driven 300 miles for those terms. I repeatedly asked her to call the sales guy to confirm what he told me and she refused. She kept stating over and over that she was sorry but that is what the system is showing and there was nothing she could do.

    I will admit, I was Livid at this point. In my defense, I had worked a 12 hour shift the previous night, got off with no sleep and drove 5 hours (300 miles) to come to a place that was not organized, had no idea who I was and then had the AUDACITY to not deliver what was promised by the sales rep. I ended up turning around and driving 5 hours back home. I incurred additional rental charges as the rental car incurred additional mileage due to the turn around. This was a horrible experience! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE LEVEL OF SERVICE THAT I WAS PROVIDED. NOBODY there decided to go the extra mile to satisfy a customer. If it was CARVANA, They would have went above and beyond to make sure my experience was nothing short of AMAZING. I could bet my bottom dollar on that. DriveTime do better please!

    This has been the absolute worse car experience I’ve had in my entire life. Within the first 30 days of me having the car the transmission went out and had to be replaced which left me without the vehicle for a week or so. Now an ENTIRE year later DriveTime has never completed the transfer of registration. I get pulled over today by the police which scares the living crap out of me as an ** woman because of the tags, I explain I have never received any paperwork to renew the registration and they give me a fix it ticket. Tell me to follow up with the DMV. I call the DMV. They give me the information I just shared in the previous sentence about the transfer being in progress.

    I call the Torrance, Ca site where I bought the car and they say there is nothing they can do on their end. Call customer service. I call customer service and customer service says, “Someone will get back to you hopefully tomorrow.” All the time I’m thinking I am the one MOST affected by DriveTime’s lack of follow through and me driving around with no registration and no tags puts me at risk. Not ANYONE at DriveTime but me, myself and I. I don’t understand how I am the one feeling the brunt of the mistake made by the corporate office. I am a good customer. I pay my note on time to my lender and I am a hardworking tax paying citizen. Why should I be held accountable for the mistake of the company?

    No registration can lead to a car being impounded in the state of California. It affects my employment and yet none of those things have a direct effect on DriveTime. Just me because of their lack of follow through. I will say again this has been the WORSE car buying experience I’ve ever had and I honestly would not recommend anyone to ever purchase a car through DriveTime. None of the review has anything to do with the last individual whom I spoke with because at least he tried to execute something however it has everything to do with the buying experience and the customer service at Torrance, Ca and corporate office.

    I just got off the phone to explain what has been going on with the fact that I have not made a payment since Feb 23, 2018. I understand that my payments are behind and I understand that it's my credit it's affecting. The car will be paid off as soon as I can, but per the phone call it was not. Let's see how we can work it out. NOOOOO. It's your customer service and supervisor giving me the third degree that there has been no payment and how it has affected my credit and how am I paying my other bills? Which is not any of your business. Never sign any paperwork saying I would inform you about my other bills!!! But both your customer service and supervisor has made it very clear that it's their business. I called to talk of working on a payment. Not once was that brought up by either person I talked to.

    I brought it up. I was getting harassed on the phone. Is that the way you want the conversation to the customers to be??? I explain that as soon as I get monies coming in I would make a payment. I have been taken care of my father for a year and he passed away 2 weeks ago, I'm waiting on the death cert to get the monies and also looking for a job. I again know and understand what I'm doing to my credit but I also know that I will be sending in a payment as soon as I get money in a couple of weeks. Both your people disregard of working with the customer. I asked them plain if the car was needed to be picked up and they both said no but continue being rude about it.     Silver Rock/Bridgecrest DriveTime - If I could give 0 stars I would. I finance a vehicle from DriveTime. I thought I got the best service and protection for my vehicle. I had my car almost a year. It broke down a month before I hit the year. Silver Rock and Bridgecrest promise to work with me. My transmission went out and I was able to find a shop. My monthly payment was coming around and I noted that once the vehicle made it to the shop. Three weeks in Silver Rock agreed to fix other components that weren't covered. I thought this was a blessing, nope they demanded their payment! Mind you I haven't had a vehicle for three weeks plus my work requires that I'm in my own vehicle. I'm also a single parent of three children which two are mentally disabled. I'm also in school and my children can not make their doctor appointments. I also paid my deductible from Silver Rock.

    As of last night Friday 4/13/18 I was told my vehicle was ready even though three weeks the transmission be suspectedly malfunctioning (meaning the replaced one). I had to bring the vehicle back to Pep Boys in Humble, TX not even had the car 24 hrs. Today is Thursday 4/19/18, I still have no vehicle and Pep Boys in Humble, TX is not cooperating on finding why the vehicle is making metal grinding noises and will not notify Silver Rock of anything. My monthly payment is coming due again for the second month. Car been gone since March. Pep Boys is keeping SilverRock from moving the vehicle to another shop. Mind you I paid the deductible already.

    Was very interested in 2016 Ford Fusion, was there on Friday (4/13/2018) and returned on Saturday (Pelham). Asked personnel to check on price, and check other locations for comparable vehicles but haven't heard back. Do not need your financing, have good credit and actually have auto check from our credit union in hand... just want best possible price. Upon checking your price review history, this car's price has fluctuated several times... two months after initial price listed it dropped about $900.

    As of Saturday it had increased by $600, and since we were there on Saturday (4/14/18) it has increased by $100!! I thought the longer a car was on the lot the lower the price... guess you are not too interested in selling cars and happy customers. I did call that location today to inquire but all that person could say was "prices do change"...really?! That's profound! And yes they do but usually decrease over time... you literally jacked the price from TWO days ago! Advice to customers... keep eye on pricing history.

    My dad and I were told the car was certified. I did not get the extended warranty because we thought it was certified and would be fine as well as lack of funds. Before I took the car the battery had to be replaced. I took it for an oil change and the techs started telling me all the things that needed to be repaired. The clips that hold the bumper on were broke and the lower bumper fell off. The intake filter was so clogged it was not running right. One week ago the muffler fell off in traffic.

    We looked up under the car and found that the muffler had been wired up to the frame of the car. We have pictures. Three days ago I had to replace a tire and the following day I was driving in heavy traffic and one of the wheel wells came off, got up under my car and I almost lost control. The very same day the check engine light came on. A mechanic hooked it up and 10 codes popped up. I have had this car since December 2017. Very concerned about driving it. We also noticed the paint has two tones. I do not have the money to pay for all of these repairs and it should be the responsibility of DriveTime to fix my car.

    I bought a car from DT on 1/10/18. They informed me of their referral program and stated each referral would credit your account $200. I then referred a friend to DT on 3/12/18. He listed me as the person who referred him to his sales associate. I contacted DT on 3/26 to inquire about the referral bonus and was told by the Shadeland branch GM that the program was no longer in effect. I later received an email on 4/2 that stated the program was discontinued but they would honor any referrals given before 4/2. Fast forward, I've have spoken to Bridgecrest customer representatives, customer relations, supervisors, sales associates, and GMs, at least 15 documented times and no one will honor this program. In fact, whenever I call they keep me on hold for at least 30 minutes and pass me around from department to department. When I stay on hold too long, they simply hang up on me. No one will respond or provide me a number to the corporate office.

    I purchase the Ford Escape 2014 Tuesday April 3, 2018. I download the app motionGPS as requested by DriveTime and I notice that my battery displayed low 11.9 volts. The second day after I purchased the car, I noticed a loud squeaky noise as I pressed the brakes with my foot which I can hear it while I was listening to music. The noise was very annoying, but I test drived the car and drove it around the block from the dealer and I did not hear any noises as I press the brakes. Next, I called DriveTime in Owings Mills to tell them about the brake. He replied, “Are you sure.” It made frustrated as like I do not know what I am talking about.

    To make a long story short I took it to Bob Bell Chevrolet for a quick lube services which it do an oil change, check the alignment, filters, brakes and so forth. The gentlemen from Bob Bell stated that everything was good except the brakes in the rear that needs to be replace and I also need a new battery. He stated that he charge the battery, so he ask me to start my car and it did not start. He charge the battery for at least 15 mins or more. I started my car again and I drove home because I did not want to be stranded. However, I tried to start my car later in the evening on Saturday, April 7, 2018 and my car did not start at all.

    As of Sunday April 8, 2018 my car is still sitting there on my parking pad. This is not acceptable and the number I called stated that I have to wait until Monday to get approval for these items to get fixed. I have Monday April 9, 2018 to return the car. I am going to return this car. Lastly, the MD inspection report said everything was ok dated 1/18. To top it off it has two recalls a fuel pump and a latch. I am going to report this matter to the BBB. You guys need to do better.

As long as the vehicle has not been driven over 300 miles within these five days, you will not be assessed any fees and will receive a full refund of your down payment.

    Lastly, if recalls are needed to be completed on the vehicle, we provide Recall Acknowledgement documentation at time of sale which provides in detail how to get the recalls completed through the manufacturer.

    After just graduating college in 2016 and receiving a job I purchased a 2006 Hummer H3 from this dealership which I assumed to be reliable and legitimate in its sales and quality of sales... WRONG! This place is a sad excuse of enterprise. The roof leaks every time there is rain. This vehicle quitted on me on the interstate one morning while heading to work because water had flooded the BCM causing the entire braking system to lock up and steering system to shut down, which made to vehicle come to an involuntary coast in rush hour traffic!!! I could have died that morning!!!

    Cars are speeding at 70+mph. No brake lights! No electric systems or anything! Reducing a 3 lane highway to 2 lanes in the morning. A lot of horns honking at me. I had to call in to work and miss work that day due to lack of transportation. Pay for a tow which I want reimbursed for. And the shop informed me that “Averex” would not cover this. Out of pocket payments all on guess who??? ME! This place sold me a LEMON, and a RUST BUCKET with an astronomical interest rate on a vehicle that is diminishing in value precipitously! The vehicle seems to have been sprayed underneath with spraypaint or Line-X to disguise the cancerous rust underneath, while sitting on the lot.

    The vehicle sold to me has severe rust damage underneath, Shocks, Axles, Bleed screws Rotors, all rusted terribly (documented extensively by Pep Boys). Seems that the floor may fall out any moment due to the amount of rust, which is why I haven’t even driven the vehicle. I did not ask to be a Flintstone. I am moving to a new state to accept a new position, which has strict emissions, safety testing and smog and have already been told that this vehicle will not pass inspections and is deemed a road hazard!!! Upon changing insurance companies, I was told during evaluations that this vehicle is a liability and cannot be covered!!!!

    This company expects me to continue to make payments on a vehicle that cannot be insured and will not pass state DMV inspection! I have already contacted legal counsel to initiate legal action against this sad company! Trying to give them another opportunity to clear things up, I attempted to reach out to their “Customer Relations” department to give them an opportunity to make things right, which is sadly a joke! Nicole in the office or break room simply disconnected from me after placing me on hold multiple times, which has also been documented! Apparently earlier this week they were experiencing “technical” difficulties with their systems and couldn’t be reached. However, I know who could be reached, my attorney(s) and the BBB, which I have filed formal complaint! Litigation is currently pending.

    Updated on 04/19/2018: Sadly the “representatives” at this establishment are as ignorant as they are illiterate and illegitimate. Apparently it wasn’t documented that I purchased the “Warranty” that they SOLD me. Since Jacob wants to talk about a warranty on this website, let’s have this conversation. (Not so clever of a move to try the “you should’ve purchased a warranty with the vehicle” card on this site). My Warranty # is **, 50,000 miles to be exact, and not even half of that mileage amount has been put on the vehicle (See photograph below for warranty info). Stop trying to deceive the consumers and reviewers on this site talking about a Warranty, Jacob. You tried it but failed rather miserably and terribly! Keep setting your company up with lies, and I will make sure it’s called out every time, on here and in the courts.

    I certainly hope these “CR reps” don’t look as incompetent as they sound! This company purchases vehicles with prior knowledge of damages beyond repair and sells them in states where inspections are not required for prices that are much higher than individually valued. I will continue to make payments, because not doing so will be too easy of a cop-out for this company. Not going to play the repo card with me either! I’m going to recoup everything plus some once this company is exposed, for the fraud it is! I have just completed a phone call with the DMV (April 19, 2018) for prior owners and discovered that the vehicle was sold to the dealership for significantly less (based on gov’t taxes and fees) due to recognition of the excessive damage with a salvage title. Somehow paperwork was manipulated and this vehicle made it on their lot for resell.

    My intentions are to expose this company’s unethical and wicked business practices. They are floating and peddling salvaged condition vehicles to consumers, which is why NONE of the major financial corporations will approve them as a dealership to offer financing to consumers; Explaining the Buy- Here Pay -Here technique they utilize, charging consumers bi-weekly for vehicle payments. Carving an additional two payments out of a year (Instead of paying across 48 weeks at 12 months, they leach the additional 4 weeks (2 payments per month across 52 weeks). Spending More! I spoke with Rebecca in DT Customer Relations (cr) (Monday April 9, 2018). She informed me that they were tasking Averex to hire a “3rd Party”/ “anonymous” inspector to prevent bias and to be impartial in the investigation.

    I told her that (Tuesday April 10, 2018) would be a good day to have the vehicle inspected. She informed me that the inspection would have to take place at one of their In Network service centers, which I opted PepBoys. She told me that Averex requires a 24-48 hr time slot for the vehicle to be at the service location, as there is no guaranteed and exactly confirmed time of the “inspector’s” arrival. I made arrangements for the vehicle to be at the shop, while at work. Uncertain of when the inspector would arrive, I was also told by Rebecca that there would be an additional 24-48 hours before the “inspection” report would be processed and interpreted by CR. The Customer Relations personnel-Jacob -that responded to the review above dialed my number (Friday April 13, 2018), which was also 48 hours later from the inspection but was of no assistance.

    Every response which came from him was either ignorant or not meditated upon. He told me that based on the report from the Inspector and the Silverock Representative that it was conveyed no repairs were needed, the rust is normal due to the “Geographical Location” (I live in Birmingham, Alabama we don’t have much inclement weather and don’t use salt trucks, or have any chemicals on the road which would corrode the underbody and Wheel Wells of a vehicle like that). His responses were all scripted and exemplified all the traits of an Errand Boy. He wasn’t aware that I was contacted by an individual, who was at the shop at the time when the inspector arrived and was told that the inspector mentioned that the vehicle has severe rust damage below and should have not been sold to me in that condition.

    There is tremendous inconsistency in what I was told from one’s immediate account with the inspector and what Jacob stated the report detailed. Once again, trying to give DriveTime the benefit of the doubt of being honest, I simply requested a copy of said Inspection report via email which Jacob “verbally” read, and was quickly informed that It could not be sent due to “proprietary” reasons. I simply wanted a copy of the report to Archive with my pre existing service records and maintenance documents on the vehicle, and was declined a physical copy by Jacob that previously mentioned he was doing his due diligence in rectifying the matter. No due diligence, but rather insult to injury. Lastly I spoke with Jared at DriveTime Customer Relations (Friday April 13, 2018) who seems like he is new at the company, from his methods of continuing to place me on hold as he “gathered” information from previous representatives I’d spoken with.

    Once again, I simply requested a copy of the inspection form for my records and to file with the existing service and maintenance records on the vehicle. Since they were able to dial me with a verbal inspection follow-up, why couldn’t they give me a physical copy for my records??? He (Jared) told me “unfortunately” he couldn’t after consulting with one of the other reps, whose name that he didn’t disclose. (I assume to be Jacob- the individual that impulsively responds for DriveTime on this ConsumerAffairs site.) I requested while on the phone, an email with a statement from Jared reflecting reasoning for not being able to provide me with a copy of the report that he’d verbally read, while on the phone.

    He (Jared) told me the company uses a 3rd Party Portal/ticketed messaging system to send emails (Breach of Consumer Confidentiality Agreement and Consumer information). I received the brief email on Monday (April 16, 2018). This is an extremely illegitimate company!!! Lying about the report! Lying is theft by deception. Utilizing a Typical Errand boy and Corporate Level flunky that tries to cover up all the negative actions of the company, each time someone posts on the Consumer Affairs site (not an entity of DriveTime), so predatory just like the company’s lending. (JACOB, check the BBB site out in a day or two :) I didn’t ask him (Jacob) to reach out to me and wondered why he even responded to my review on this site, as I had already given DriveTime the opportunity to make things right. They don’t care about the customer after you’ve purchased the car.

    They insulted my intelligence both punitively and ethically while on the phone stating that the vehicle presents no safety concerns. They lied (verified) the entire time before and after the “inspection” the terminology and verbiage used were too close. The phrases “Geographical location” and “Normal rust kept coming up”. The bottom of this vehicle is eaten with RUST! I could have died in the vehicle the day it shut down on the interstate at 70mph and all power systems (brakes, gearing) failed from heavy rainstorms during rush hour. They have no value for life. Floorboards completely rotten with rust covering the underbody. This vehicle is unsafe! And the pictures below display that. I refuse to continue to drive this vehicle which is a road hazard and shops won’t even service it due to the damage underneath!

    It won’t pass State safety Inspection! Insurance company won’t Insure it upon inspection! I purchased a new vehicle as dependable and reliable means of transportation to commute back and forward to work SAFELY! DRIVETIME doesn’t care about the safety of their customers but rather their finances. Please do yourselves a favor of (when interested in purchasing a vehicle) avoiding DRIVETIME. Predatory, Unethical, Fraudulent. They know the Lemons they are selling are astronomically priced, inflated with interest rates when you use Bridgecrest and completely unreliable! Since my original review, I’ve been approached and contacted by multiple claimants who purchased vehicles from different DriveTime locations and have been WRONGED by this business, have incurred price gouging and vehicles sold under false pretenses by the dealer with knowledge of damages beyond repair.

    All will be legally represented by my attorney(s), whose information the Errand boys and Coffee Grabbers at DriveTime are so anxious to get. Pressing me to have my lawyer(s) send over notice(s) of legal representation. The representation letters are on the way and will arrive a lot sooner than that “email” Jared said sent over! Anyone else who desires to have this business thoroughly investigated, please message me so that I can provide you with an immediate contact for Class-Action.

    I was skeptical at first to buy a car from DriveTime because I had the assumption that they could be no better than other buy here pay here dealerships because they approve everyone so it had to be a rip-off. I was wrong to assume. I researched the car that I wanted and found it to be priced exactly as Kelley blue book showed, that was below fair market value. This didn't make sense at first but since nothing major had to be done to the car the price didn't have to be, nor was it inflated to a ridiculous amount the way regular dealerships do it. The report given also showed 1 owner and no accidents which was reassuring.

    I decided to test drive the car and since I'm mechanically inclined and have owned the same model 4 times before, I knew what to look for. The car still smells new and it's 2 years old. It is mechanically sound and drives like a new car. I dealt with Daryl, Walin and another gentleman at the Chandler, AZ lot. They were all great to deal with and made the whole transaction go smoothly. The paperwork was minimal and easy to do being that it was electronic for the most part. There was no high pressure tactics and I felt comfortable in buying a car from DriveTime rather than a regular dealer. The interest rate even dropped 2 points along with a lower down payment after I was initially told the terms, I hadn't even taken possession of the car yet! Although my interest rate is higher than I like I am rebuilding credit after a divorce. Interest rates offered range from 4% and up.

    In the future I will return to DriveTime to purchase again because I know they do business the right way. There is no haggling over price as the vehicles are priced within or below fair market value per KBB pricing. Extended warranties are also offered but there is no pressure to purchase one. I did for peace of mind but I always did when buying even a new car as I know that anything can happen and the cost of repairs are outrageous. Don't hesitate to do business with the folks at DriveTime, you won't be disappointed.

I had a 2008 Dodge Ram that I purchased from DriveTime in Columbus, GA in 2015. 2 weeks ago I was hit by another driver head on and my truck was totaled. Of course insurance paid out and the gap coverage is taking over to clear the total debt. This leaves me with no vehicle. So, I went into the dealership in Columbus, GA last week on 3-23-18 and was told BY THE MANAGER that I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET INTO ANOTHER TRUCK WITH NO DOWNPAYMENT just as soon as the check was cut from the insurance company.

    He said all I had to do was bring in a current check stub and they would put me into another truck equal to what I had with no downpayment. He said that's one of the many benefits of having gap coverage with DriveTime. So, I went back into the same location on Friday 3-30-18 and that Manager has now been moved to the Marietta, GA location or so I was informed. They told me they couldn't honor what he had told me and that I would have to pay $5,000 down to even come close to what I was driving and if I wanted something a little newer it would be $17,000 down. SO OF COURSE I WAS INFURIATED!!! I am still in shock. I had a truck that I was paying on and a 21 year old crossed over to my side of the road and hit me head on. My truck was totaled, but this was not my fault. DriveTime/Bridgecrest HAS NOT LOST ANYTHING on this.

    They have made out very well on this situation. I'm the one who lost because I have ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER VEHICLE TO DRIVE. The rental I have at the moment is costing too much. So, I will not be able to keep it either. Maybe I could comprehend if I wrecked the truck myself, but I was innocently hit head on by another driver and my passenger had to have reconstructive surgery on her arm from this. So, now I feel like I'm being penalized because someone else totaled my truck. I could also understand if I had to put $500 to 800 down, but they are not willing to work with me at all. I have referred a lot of people to DriveTime, but be assured they all know how lousy I have now been treated and word does get around. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO SAY THE LEAST. I just cannot believe how I have been treated over this.

    ALL I asked was to be able to get into a truck of equal value to what I had for about $500 down, but was told NO WAY. What a rotten way to treat a customer who has been loyal. The worst is that the manager told me of course they would help me, but now all of the sudden the rules have changed. I can't believe DriveTime will keep any customers!!! What a heck of a year. My husband abandoned us, I have lost both of my parents within the last few months due to terminal illness, my adopted son was killed in an accident, and now my only form of transportation has been totaled. Wow and so good to know that DriveTime refuses to help. I intend to make sure that people in Columbus know all about it. What a way to do business!!!

    Although I just gave a bad review of DT collection practices, I would like to say I have had some great experiences with Customer Relations reps. Last year my engine went out in my car and was in shop for over a month. The warranty company denied my claim to repair the car, saying it was my fault; however when I called CR they were able to negotiate with warranty company to get my car repaired. Also a week after getting car out of shop car needed spark plug repair; warranty company denied claim again because I was supposed to have spark plugs replaced after 100,000 miles, however I was given a used engine; DT CR advised warranty company to honor the claim. The reps I spoke with at that time were amazing.

    On 2/14/18 I called into DT customer service to make payment and to also take advantage of an email I had received that offered me deferment of payments since I had fell behind; the rep kept asking me what happened that caused me to fall behind; I asked her if that were important since I had received this email and that nothing was mentioned in this email where I needed to explain, however I did tell her that I had had medical issues; she went on to tell me that DT had once before offered me a deferment; I told her this was offered to me by the Customer Relations department due to mechanical issues I had had the year before and my car was in the shop for over a month and I had to rent a car for the same amount of time.

    She then proceeds to ask me if she offered me the deferment if I could promise I would keep payments current and pay a little extra each month; I told I would not be able to make a promise like that as I was having a hard time making payments for what was already in my contract. She then proceeds to tell me she would offer me the deferment, however it may take a couple of days for me to get the paperwork; a week after speaking to her I never received any paperwork, however

    I did received call from another rep wanting know why I had not made payment for that period. I told him I had agreement with someone only a week earlier for deferment; he proceeds to tell me he did see where I had this agreement with rep and did not understand why paperwork was not sent; he assured me he would be able to work with me, however he placed me on hold to work on some numbers? Call disconnected at that point.

    I am at the point where I would for sure surrender the car as I am not at a point where I can reconcile making an agreement with a company as large as DT and I am the only one that is expected to comply. I wonder if DT/Bridgecrest owner, Mr. Ernie Garcia knows the practices of his reps? Or if this is his expectation of them?

    One of the worst experiences buying a car. Three hours with different people coming and going, changing the numbers, not explaining things right, very frustrating. Paid more than the estimate, bought a warranty that covers nothing that has gone wrong with the car since then. I was in a little accident last week in the same place that this car had been in a accident before I bought it. I brought the car to repair and the mechanic showed me that the preview's repair was done by gluing parts of the car together with superglue and because of that I had to replace parts that would not have to, should the car been repaired correctly (Front bumper, side bumper, engine plastic cover underneath, all glued together with superglue). They did not check up the car before they sold it to me. They are not honest, charge a lot of interest and sell you cars with defects that you cannot tell until is too late. If you have any other option, do not buy with them.

    If I had taken this a few days ago you would have gotten a better rating. I was very pleased with the car buying experience the day I was there. Chris made us feel like a valued customer, but since I have left the dealership I haven’t felt that way. The car had an issue and I get it used cars sometimes have issues, but this was a spark plug issue. Something I feel should be changed before you even sell me the car. Thankfully you if go fixed but pep boys didn’t make the check engine light or the gas cap light turn off. So I still have to take it somewhere to continue getting it looked at.

Not once has anyone said, "Oh here’s a gift card to get a full tank of gas," or "Your next oil change is on us," or something small just to say, "Hey I’m sorry the car we sold needed immediate shop repair." Not sure I will be back to purchase another car from here in the future. I felt as if the situation could have be handled a little differently.

    I bought a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid from DriveTime in Jackson, MS, on February 15, 2018. Within less than 12 hours, the vehicle malfunctions. I contact the dealership and am told I can return it within five business days or 300 miles. I live over 115 miles away and would not be able to return the vehicle within the 300 mile limit.

    Within two weeks, the car is inoperable due to a “hybrid charge failure.” I took it to the local Hyundai dealer on February 28th. They, John O’Neil Johnson Hyundai service department here in Meridian, MS, have worked tirelessly to find the problem. They’ve brought hybrid techs in from the Mobile Hyundai plant and can’t seem to resolve the issue. They are now bringing specialists in from California to try to find the exact problem so they can, in turn, fix it.

    I’ve reached out to Silver Rock, the warranty company, and DriveTime Consumer Relations, as well. I was told upon purchase that any malfunction within 30 days or 1,500 miles would be covered at 100%, along with rental car reimbursement while the vehicle was inoperable. Now, I’m told they can offer no help, and can’t guarantee coverage, without a diagnosis so that leaves me paying a monthly note for a just purchased car I simply cannot drive, and neither the dealership from which I purchased, nor the warranty company in which I invested has a solution. I’m beyond frustrated. Do not use DriveTime or SilverRock.

    When I first purchase my vehicle from Drive Time my car was delivered from Alabama. I convey my concerns about the warranty under Averex and the sales rep ensure me only maintenance items will not be covered. Since I purchase a BMW I wanted to make sure Drive Time had the means to repair the car if needed. So I ask the sale reps to explain what she meant by maintenance... Her exact words were oil change, brakes, heating/cooling, alignment and tires. I was satisfied with the response so I signed on the dotted line. When my car arrived to Atlanta I notice the tires needed to be replaced. I was promised to come back and I will receive four new tires...

    Never happened. My tire blew out and the mechanic advised me my alignment was damaged and any tires I put on this car will blew out because it will pierce the tires. So it went just about getting my alignment adjusted by it was damage! How could Drive Time sell a car like that! A few months of having the car my starter went out, Averex replace the starter, a few months later my car electronically shut down in the city. Averex didn’t cover it and I had to battle with Drive Time to fix it (which is still not fix). Drive Time was only willing to fix the car to get it back “running“... they didn’t listen to BMW recommendations. So basically my warranty ran out which only covered one thing and my car is falling apart.

    My insurance went up for tow claims and I can’t get out of a upside down loan. Bridgecrest and Drive Time refuse to help because now they can blame me by saying miles put wear and tear on the car and I’m out of warranty. Never got to enjoy the car but only be concern about repairs, loan payments, towing, and poor customer service. I wish I would of purchase my car someone else. My friend purchase their cars from Carmax and Enterprise sales. All their repairs I needed was covered in their warranty... biggest mistake of my life.

    DriveTime has given me the worst experience ever. I have been having my vehicle since February 2015 and a month after I started having problems. The moment I started having problems I kept taking it into the shop to have it looked at. At this time I was still covered thru warranty with Avirex. This issue with my vehicle has been going on for awhile and the issue could not be fixed. Was told that they couldn't tell what the problem was because everytime the dashboard lights would go off so I was told they couldn't test it for diagnosis.

    Now today three years later the issue continues and the shop finally found out whats wrong. Avirex is now saying it cant be covered because my warranty is up. I feel this is unfair because it should have been taking care of while I still had warranty. I just paid two car notes and don't have funds to pay for something that should have been fixed three years ago. I am beyond disgusted with DriveTime and Avirex and whoever else has something to do with DriveTime. I have a job to get back and forth to and cant if I don’t have a vehicle.

    My husband and I purchased a truck from DriveTime in Tyler, Tx about a year ago. The experience with DriveTime at first was great. The customer service was awesome and the whole buying the truck was not bad. Now, about a year after having the truck the motor locks up. We call DriveTime which sends us to the warranty company Silver Rock. When we purchased the truck we purchased the extended bumper to bumper warranty. We call them and after about a week of back and forth they ultimately denied the claim and would not pay for the truck to get fixed. So now we are out approx $1000 and counting on a rental, towing, mechanic for looking at it, and now looking to pay for the motor replacement ourselves. Not to mention still paying the truck payments while it is just sitting in our yard without a working motor.

    I am baffled first of all by the warranty company and how many awful reviews they have and how they can sleep at night when they know they are doing their customers wrong. There is no way when purchasing a vehicle from a dealership that you should have a motor locked up within a year. Especially when that vehicle is only used to drive back and forth to work. I am not claiming that I know about cars mechanically but I am definitely not an idiot. Right is right and wrong is wrong. The reviews I have read this company has done so many customers wrong. If they don’t cover my issue along with the others that I have read what exactly do they cover? Silver Rock is a scam and DriveTime is sending them customers. It is shameful.

    When I first went to DriveTime to pick a car everything was great. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Everything was smooth. I got my 2014 Taurus and was on the road then about 3 months later the fuel pump went. Ok. Well I don’t have to pay for nothing. Cool. Just fix it. They did so and about two weeks later it went again while I was at work. That was great so I called about it and not only did I get hung up on twice I requested that it went to someone more qualified like a Ford dealership but no. They wanted to take it back to the Meineke.

    They supposedly did it last time and they're saying they don’t wanna touch it so without telling me they move my car to the dealership like I said but I had to call for them to tell me this and when I call the dealership they said they didn’t even know it was coming. So for my inconvenience they told me they will pre-pay for my rental that I scheduled for 3 days but next thing I know the same day the car was good and ready to go as they said picked it up.

    Everything was good for about a month then for the third time it didn’t start again so what they told me the guys at Ford said it looks like they didn’t replace it the first time. Wow and those are the people you guys sent your clients to. Wow but whatever. So since all this is happening and I have work every day of the week you would think they would approve another rental but no. They're telling me they can’t when it’s against policy but the last rep told me otherwise. Well whatever. I already wasted so much money on that car. Why not do it some more and get my own rental? It will only be a couple days. Until this morning they called and told me that the lines were so backed up that they burst and I had to call the warranty company because the dealership called and told me so I’m all the way out on this car at this point and I wanna know my options on a different car. Well I don’t have that option. I have to stay with it and all the problems it may have.

    They don’t care I already put thousands into it with maintenance let alone money for tows and parts that they said they will cover but didn’t. Like all they showed me is that they care about nothing but your money and here I am stuck with a 2014 car that already had many problems but nobody cares that I was stuck at work with a 2014 that wouldn’t start, I got hung up on or that me and my girlfriend were stuck at a grocery store with my nieces who are 9 and 10 for hours because it didn’t start or that fact that if I was driving and it went out. I could have been seriously injured. They do not care. I recommend no one buy a car from here unless you want to deal with the problems. There’s no telling if my car will ever function right or if it will go on me again. Either way I want a different car and they're telling me, "We cannot help you there." Save yourself the hassle with these people. Go anywhere else but DriveTime.

    Total bait and switch. The dealership has 2 kinds of cars, normal stock and DriveTime select. The DriveTime select vehicles are the cars that you see on the website, usually newer models priced extremely reasonably. These cars are harder to purchase than the normal stock, they require a higher credit score and a much larger down payment (~12% on normal stock and ~30-35% on DriveTime select). They are the bait. Here is my story: I showed up after receiving approval online and asked to look at the GMC Terrain I had seen online. Immediately they redid the credit check and told me I could not purchase the vehicle I had seen online because my credit was not good enough. They instead wanted to sell me a car GMC Terrain that was two model years older and had ~20,000 more miles on it for same price as the original vehicle.

    What really upset me was that the initial vehicle I saw online was priced just under the low side of the Kelly Blue book value while the vehicle they wanted to sell my was priced 10-15% higher than its Kelly Blue book value. Classic bait and switch technique, show the people an amazing deal to get them in the door and then get them to buy something of lesser value for the same price to cheat them into thinking they got a great deal. How this is legal I have no idea.

    Any time I have dealt with used car financing I have found that a bank is more likely to loan you money for a newer/lower mileage vehicle. Why does DriveTime want you to purchase a older/higher mileage? I believe it is so they can keep the vehicles that bring people in on the lot to use as advertising. I believe their goal is to sell garbage vehicles, like any other "Finance Here" used car lot, but they want you to think they are different. They show you the Kelly Blue book values of vehicles they know they won't sell you so when you come in you buy whatever piece of garbage they put in front of you.

Suddenly they had to rerun everything and hit my credit again because they say they have to make sure I am who I say then increased the cost of doing business with them by a lot.     Daniel was absolutely amazing. He had great people skills and was very patient with my kids and friendly. The finance department guy was rude. He took forever to do anything. The total process was about six hours out of my day to get this car. And after we left thinking everything was finished, we were called back because they forgot to have us sign the contract. That was very annoying and inconvenient and I did not want to go back because at this point it was already 9:30 PM and all three of my children were very cranky and ready for bed.

    When we came back to sign the contract I told the finance guy that I felt like it was late and my kids had a bedtime.     Don't bother shopping here if you are pre-approved for a loan through a bank or Credit Union. DriveTime will not accept letters of credit from Banks and Credit Unions during the title transfer, despite it being a pretty standard practice in the industry. After signing almost all of the paperwork, we waited for three days to finally be told that DriveTime would not do the title transfer to our bank without a certified check in hand ahead of time. This is after the whole process was done and we were paying interest on the loan for the car that we never took delivery of. Unless you are planning on financing on the sales floor, go somewhere else.

    In May 2017 I got a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid from DriveTime in Orlando. The sales girl was very good and helpful. Since May I took this car 4 times for major mechanical problems to the dealership including transmission, water pumps etc. And I haven’t even had this car for a year. Thank God I purchase the gap insurance they offered because if it wasn’t for that I’ll be broken. Make sure you go to the dealership with a mechanic to check your future purchase.

    Well traded in the first car I bought with you and got the second. First time was prompt and quite good but I traded in a 2013 Dodge Avenger that was really nic.e All the paperwork went through and was showed a price 12995 and a forgiveness of 500.     The deal was all set then we were told there was a glitch that we needed 1100.00 for buyback and 295.00 down and payments of 497.00 this was a 6 hrs in drive time 2013 Dodge Avenger to a 2013 Toyota Camry. I don't know what happened but I feel I was side blinded. This was so unprofessional. It was so late that the full tank of gas they couldn't get that and the license plate couldn't get transferred cause they said the computer was down but a guy that came in after us got out with his plate on his car. I truly think this was shady **. You don't change the price at signing. Yes the new car is nice and my daughter loves it but we got the bottom of the barrow treatment.

    The gentlemen at DriveTime in Indianapolis, IN on 38th Street and Lafayette Road were the most outstanding representatives at DriveTime. Clay ** and Sean ** did everything they could to get me into the car of my dreams. I ran into a problem with not having enough information for them to proceed with the sale. So, instead of making me drive all the way home to find the right document, they called their headquarters and talked them into going around that little piece of information I needed. I am so thankful and appreciative that they went out of their way just to put a smile on my face. I would recommend going to these guys for a new car to anyone!     I purchased a 2009 Jeep Liberty Dec 2016. I had the car less than 30 days and the water pumps goes out. Ok the dealership has me take it to Aamco where I meet a woman who got a car from them a week before mine and I get it back 2 days later. Now when purchasing this vehicle I was told it was free from defect. Now 2 weeks after the water pump went I go in for an oil change. The mechanic tells me that someone weld the bolt on the oil pan shut. But I guess this was missed in the inspection which means they don't change the oil before selling the car so I take it to Pep Boys mechanic and Pep Boys tells me they didn't even put oil in his car (DriveTime). Ok argue with DriveTime and Aeverex the warranty company cause I'm not paying a deductible for a problem they should have caught. Ok I get the car back 2 3 days later.

    Now about the end of July the transmission goes. I take it to Aamco. I'm without my vehicle for almost a month so I get the vehicle back in August for a week and a half the motor goes. Now I'm without the vehicle for a month and everyone wants money even though I have no vehicle. So I get the vehicle back in September just before the hurricane. Now January 2018 the transmission has gone back out again. This is the worst car buying experience I've ever had. And if I ever run into those 2 chics from the commercial I got choice words for them and they should be called drive bad time. I wouldn't recommend y'all to my enemies. I also told them that I'm a honorably discharged veteran and would be paying with my disability payments once a month. At the dealership they tell they had to put me in for biweekly payments but after I make the 1st payment let Bridgecrest know and they'd fix it in their system. Oh what a lie. I will never recommend y'all to Anyone.

Throughout the life of your loan, however, if your pay frequency from your employer changes you are able to contact Bridgecrest (our loan servicing company) to determine if you may be eligible for a frequency change.
