Overall start to finishing in buying a car and trading in a car was very easy, simple, and what was agreed upon has happened. Communication was prompt, driver showed up on time and made the process easy and quick.
One issue was with keys. The car I bought comes with a special key that unlocks all features for that car. The ad stated it comes with a red key and black key, I only recevied two black keys. I contacted customer support and said i was missing the red key. They told me because it wasnt in the pictures theres nothing they could so. Even though the ad stated it came with a red key, and furthermore that car is known to come with that special key. Which is now going to cost me $300-$400 to get the proper key.

By far the worst experience. First off, I was approved for a vehicle, and I was very excited to receive the approval email. Not four days later, and less than 48 hours before my car was supposed to arrive, I received a cancellation notice because they couldn’t verify some information. I had plans and family that I told about this approval, and that was ripped away with no real answer on why. I can’t get anyone on the phone. I receive an automatic response saying I was canceled. Also, the vehicle I wanted immediately was reserved by someone else. This is unprofessional, and a simple phone call would make this a lot better, but that’s more of a dream if you want to speak with a representative of Carvana after they made their decision. I am disgusted by Carvana.

The notarized part was frustrating. Your computer system needs update. I tried four times before it finally went through. Your people were extremely respectful and kind. They did their best to help. I think your delivery driver should be a notary and do it all at once and in person.

This would have been my fourth car via Carvana. The last 3 went very smooth. Fast forward 2 years later and it’s such a mess. They would not deliver to my house like they used to, so had to drive almost 3 hours away. I needed to check on specific features but neither I or the advocate on chat could contact the location to have them check. I then drive out and picked up the car and it broke down halfway back. Carvana was closed so I tried to call SilverRock. SilverRock didn’t have any of my information yet so I had to use my personal AAA service to tow it to a mechanic close to me.
I decided I did not want the car within 7 days, so now have to drive the car back, when really they should have taken the car off my hands for breaking down the day I picked up. Ended up picking up the same model at a local dealership with all the features I wanted for $10k less and a far better interest rate for the loan. Last time I use Carvana.

Awesome experience! Everything is basically done online. From the purchase process, down to the paperwork. Only thing I had to do in person, was fill out the necessary paperwork work DMV and sign off on my new car. They need to work on their picture taking, because my cars paint is flawless. Outside of a few imperfections! The car drives beautifully! You can’t beat the 360 view of the soft top down and that 6 speed manual! But the grand touring! You won’t regret it!

This will be the 3rd purchase from Carvana. The process has always been easy and smooth. The delivery driver was communicative, professional, polite and informative. And on time! Carvana provides a lot of photos and points out the defects on the vehicles. Although I don't mind the car lot experience, it's so much more convenient to be able to browse from home and then have it delivered to you. I found the car I wanted and didn't have to hope it was still on the lot when I got there. I may never purchase from a dealership/car lot again. This last purchase/delivery was the smoothest and my favorite vehicle thus far. For the convenience alone I would recommend purchasing from Carvana.

I went the Carvana route because I didn’t want the pressure and stress of buying a car in person. I got pre-approved by my bank and had a down payment. I then found a car and filled out the the application. Immediately, I had a problem because it wasn’t apparent how to apply my down payment. It was then that I noticed a timer. This would be a theme. As a am trying to get answers from Sebastian, the AI “person”, there was a timer winding down my time to complete my info. The answer I received was not clear, so my time ran out. I tried to start over but was locked out. Frustrating. Moving on, my instructions were to wait to receive a purchase agreement in my email, so I waited.
I sent the car info to my bank who said they could do nothing without a purchase agreement. I provided my insurance as asked and after half a day of waiting-as Carvana instructed me to- I contacted an “Advocate“ to see what else was needed. He said that I needed to hurry because my time was running out. What? I was never told there was a timer, furthermore, I did everything that was asked of me. I needed the purchase agreement sent! He said that he would expedite sending it, then said he tried to get an extension for me but it was denied. I couldn’t get my car when I wanted because CARVANA didn’t send me my purchase agreement. No fault of my own. I sent front and back copies of the check to Carvana and waited, and waited. I finally contacted Carvana and talked to advocate who immediately said I’d better hurry because my time would be out at 2 the next day.
I snapped because I had been getting that threat for the entirety of my Carvana interactions. I just can’t enumerate all of them here. The advocate apologized, saying that they were required to do this, and said she would expedite the approval process. So I waited and waited. Finally the next day, again prompted by ME, I contacted an advocate to find out what the hold up was. I only had a couple of hours before my deadline was up, so much for expediting my process. He had me hold to see what he could do. He lost contact with me, so I had to start over. Finally everything was approved and I was told where to get my car. Kelly from Carvana was very kind and took me through the process. Happily ever after? No.
When I drove off from the car lot, the low tire pressure light came on. There was a screw in the tire of my new car. I went through the steps to get Carvana to fix or replace the tire. I called the number provided. My car was not in the system so they couldn’t help me. My husband had to come to change the tire. Of my new car from Carvana. This was a miserable experience from beginning to end. I’ll never do it again and I am advising everyone I know not to go Carvana.

I have bought several cars from carbon and never had a bad experience till today. Got a truck delivered last night at 7 o’clock.. Took it for a short test drive. Everything seemed right a little vibration nothing much but did not have time for a large test drive. This morning I got on the interstate as soon as the truck got up to 64 to 70 miles an hour it started shaking violently took it to where Silver Rock told me and had it checked out by their service and they told me that it was bad tires. The tires are not good for road travel. Was then told by them to take it to a tire shop which I almost got killed on the way to the tire shop with the truck shaking violently.
Spent six hours at the tire shop to end result being Silver Rock said oh we’ll just rotate the tires. That’ll make it better and fine cause they’re off-road tires. Their no noise wasn’t the problem. It’s safety. They sent me a truck that was not made and ready for the road. The tires in the front were all messed up with notches out of them to my surprise. They still keep refusing. I went to four tire shops after that they estimator gave me paperwork showing these tires are not made for the road at this point they are to be disposed of. They are not good. They are going to kill somebody but per Silver Rock all you need to do is rotate him. Carvana seems to not care about any of this.
I would not buy another car from them and here’s the problem. I recommend them on a daily basis and know at least 30 to 40 people that have made multiple purchases, but I promise you after the day I will make sure I never recommend them and I never get my business back unless they fix this problem on this truck when you spend $47,000 you think you would get a decent truck with tires that would be able to be on the road

Overall pretty easy. Was hoping to finance thru Carvana just to make things easier and was willing to pay slightly higher rate for convenience, but was quoted an embarrassing 24% rate. Instead used a credit union for 4.99% loan. Felt like predatory financing. Also never told I could transfer my plate and was instead charged for a new one. Not thrilled about that. Though a little better than a dealership, still not an enjoyable process.

When my truck arrived, I inspected the undercarriage and it was completely covered in sand. I found out the vehicle came from Florida. I assumed that Carvana inspected the undercarriage. I was wrong. I had to clean under the vehicle with a pressure washer to even see the frame to do a good inspection of the frame and under the vehicle. After a few hours of working on the undercarriage, the frame and undercarriage was fine. I just wished they would have cared a little more about giving me a clean truck. The truck is wonderful and very happy with its performance. Everything else with Carvana was Great. Thanks.

Overall, the experience is easy to purchase and saves time. I love the car but was very dissatisfied on Carvana not disclosing all cosmetic imperfections. Only 3 light scratches were disclosed but car had several small dings (dents) and one really bad wheel. Good thing Silver Rock has agreed to cover the affected wheels (pending replacement) but did not approve the dings. I informed both Silver Rock and Carvana that even know that used cars come with imperfections, it still was not right that it was not disclosed in details of the car and requested to make it right but Nothing was done about this so that’s why I rate 3 stars.

Purchased our car mid December of 2024. Traded in our daughter’s Prius so we could give her our newer Prius. Paid cash for our car. Process took a long time and was overly complicated because Carvana reps kept giving conflicting information regarding necessary documents. Two hours before we were supposed to pick it up, we were notified it was delayed due to an interior issue, maybe due to an odor but the rep said there were no notes on the account. On Christmas Eve we were finally able to pick up the car. We noticed water damage on the interior pillars and had the repair facility check the windshield. The car was garaged until we took our first road trip in March 2025.
The car was parked outside during an overnight rainstorm. The next morning, we found the interior floor mats full of water, water dripping down the pillars and evidence of old mold under the mats. Our SilverRock warranty would not cover the cost to determine the issue. The repair facility blew out the drains and recommended we take it to a body shop to make sure there wasn’t a cracked or damaged drain, which we did and the drains seemed to function correctly.

I will begin this review by starting with something good. I have purchased from Carvana once before and the actual purchase experience was great then, and it’s just as great now. Simple and fast with very little to no hassle. The recent purchase I made has come with a severe amount of issues. Mechanically and aesthetically. The car was listed for $30k+. But the vehicle has an alarming amount of issues that will cost a lot of money to fix.
When I bought the vehicle it came with a clean CARFAX but it is very easy to tell the vehicle does have an accident, collision happened on the front bumper, driver side. The issue isn’t that there has been no accidents reported on the vehicle, but the fact that the entire car has been repainted and the paint job is horrible. The paint is chipping away at critical points of the vehicle (IE, creases of the wing, creases of the doors, creases of the truck). There is an egregious amount of overspray over a lot of the vehicle’s body (to include the windows as well). There is primer sprayed ON TOP of the paint/clear coat of the vehicle. The paint chipping will cause further damage if left unattended and will begin to have rusting issues.
Other aesthetic damages include, a giant gash to the driver side, side skirt (was not mentioned in the sales post). The interior running board plastic that sits at the bottom of the inside of the door frame has a spot that is melted, this issue is on BOTH driver side and passenger side. The vehicle came with the front driver fender liner shredded at the bottom and the car was missing the skid plate for the bottom side engine cover. The vehicle came with two out of three mounting brackets for the driver side headlight, broken.
I was quoted by a paint and body shop that it would be $12k worth of labor and supplies to fix the vehicle's paint issues. (Dale's Collisions, off of Keeler in Olathe, KS 66062) I brought this issue up with Carvana and was told that it’s not something that can be claimed or compensated for due to “normal wear and tear of the vehicle's age.” The vehicle is from 2013, I know that this vehicle is almost 12 years old, but I spent $30k for a vehicle that needs $12k worth of work. The value of the vehicle that was sold to me is not concurrent with its damages to the paint alone. I could understand if I bought the vehicle at its mileage, below market value, but I purchased the vehicle within market value for the car.
Other issues the vehicle had: the motor came in poor condition. Thankfully, I had a compression test done to find this was true and SilverRock had agreed to replace the motor. The car had a bad alignment when I received the vehicle, the center of the steering wheel was clocked 8-10 degrees to the right and was not centered. The tires the vehicle came with are well below usable tread depth for tires.
Thankfully, it appears that SilverRock has been more than willing to replace all of the mechanical issues of the car but that doesn’t excuse the condition of the vehicle’s body and paint work. For a $30k vehicle, I would have expected MUCH better. Nor does that excuse the time that I have to be without a vehicle due to the car having to get a brand new motor put in and the other mechanical issues that needs to be fixed in the vehicle.
Usually I would recommend Carvana to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle but now I cannot due to the fact that I will be unsure if the vehicle purchased will be worth the investment for that person. Or that they would be getting the car without having to go through what I am currently going through. I was unable to locate my order number but here is the VIN of the car I purchased. ** I have many more photos I could include but I have met the limit of photos that can be attached.

It started out decently, but the clear disorganization has left a bad taste in my mouth. When I purchased my first car and realized I would have to exchange it with Carvana, I took it to the Schaumburg dealership, where they hadn’t even realized they were receiving a car from me. The dealership had to take extra time to set up the exchange despite me having done so through their website previously.
Once I got my second, final car, I got an email a few days later notifying me that I hadn’t signed all the documents to receive the car, despite me signing documents with them and driving the car off the lot. They hounded me with a strict 48 hour deadline yet delayed in delivering the form they needed me to sign. I went out of my way to get that return to them all while they kept sending automated phone calls telling me my plates were in danger of expiring, even as the form was already on its way.
I get an email today at 10 AM telling me that the registration is finally completed, and then an hour later I get another automated call telling me the registration is not complete and that my registration is still in danger of expiring. I go on the website and it says my registration is complete. Clearly there’s a lack of organization and communication between the different people involved in Carvana.

Don't do it unless you're at one of their dealerships and inspect the vehicle in-person! I received my vehicle yesterday, 4/27/25. Overall, love the truck; however, there are two major issues that were never disclosed:
2. The windshield scratched/etched from bad wipers at some point
The 150 Point Inspection showed the following:
#29 Spare tire or Inflator Kit – Marked as Fixed or Replaced. I was called a few hours prior to my delivery by the driver and he noticed the vehicle didn’t have a spare, but he did put a Fix-A-Flat kit in the back seat. Regardless, this is unacceptable that there wasn’t a spare with the vehicle.#63 Noted that wipers were replaced.
#120 Windshield Condition – Marked as Passed
#150 Clean All Windows – Marked as Fixed or Replaced
There is no way anyone would have inspected the windshield and thought it was okay or “passed” when looking at it at any time. When the vehicle was delivered to me, it appeared that maybe the wipers had been turned on and bugs had been smeared. Once I washed the vehicle I realized the scratches were in fact permanent.
Other issues not disclosed, but I can deal with:
• Small dents/dings not pictured or noted• Pitting/rust spots at the bottom of the passenger door panel
• Burn spots in the area above the glove box, the tray on the floor beneath the console, and the passenger side floor matt
• No vehicle manuals
Carvana is basically telling me I'm burnt and they're sorry. A poor way to do business and only reinforces the shady car dealer stereotype.

I'm glad the rest of my transaction went smoothly, but I was very disappointed in the shipping delay.

Upon taking delivery of the vehicle, I was able to notice that the interior detail didn't touch every crevice and corner of the car, which could easily be addressed by a brush doused with trim cleaner. Furthermore, the interior Carvana stickers weren't removed, and on my car, the windshield was evidently not cleaned properly. As such, the overall experience is rated at one star instead of five stars.

My experience was absolutely horrible. I purchased an Alfa Romeo from Carvana last week. My delivery date was delayed and I wasn’t notified to a couple hours before my appointment. When the car was finally delivered I had it for less than 18 hrs and drove a total of 30 miles the car broken down and I had to have it towed back home. I was offered another vehicle which was the exact same one with less miles. I had submit more financial information then my original application which completed 4 days prior. My new car was supposed to be delivered on Friday and it was once again delayed. I traded my old car in which worked perfectly fine and have been forced to go an entire week without a car. Carvana has offered me nothing for the extreme inconvenience. My new car is supposed to come on Monday. Let’s see if it’s delayed for the 3rd time.

The car was clean upon delivery. I do not think it was waxed or polished. The tire pressure was wrong on three tires and missing one tire valve cap, which I replaced. The paperwork was fine, no issues at the Beacon NY facility. HOWEVER, THIS IS AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE. THERE WAS 32 MILES OF CAPACITY; IT WAS NOT FULLY CHARGED AND I COULD NOT GET HOME. I asked the woman there to direct me to a charge station and there is none! VERY FRUSTRATING. Had to go find a nearby station, pay for a charge, and waste an hour getting enough capacity to drive home. I am formally requesting a $250 refund check for the inconvenience and inadequate preparation.

The Carvana car buying process was simple and easy. Didn't have to waste my whole day in a dealership. The pickup of the vehicle could have been a better process. I had an appointment time set for pickup. I got there and had to wait over an hour to get my vehicle. They had to clean the vehicle inside and out. Mind you they had the car there two days before my scheduled pickup. Other than that, I prefer the Carvana process over going into a dealership.

I recently purchased my car through Carvana, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was incredibly smooth and stress-free. It was super easy to browse through their selection and find a car that fit exactly what I was looking for. The pricing was transparent, with no hidden or unnecessary fees—what you see is truly what you get.
One of the absolute highlights was the iconic vending machine experience. Dropping the coin in and watching my car come down was honestly spectacular—such a unique and memorable moment! I'm so satisfied with my purchase that I've been telling all my coworkers about it, and I even posted on social media about it (which I never do). That’s how impressed I was! If I’m ever in the market for another car—hopefully not too soon—I’ll be going back to Carvana, and I’ll recommend them to anyone looking for a hassle-free, fun car-buying journey.

This was the best experience I've ever had purchasing a car. From my first search to the day the Carvana truck rolled up to my house with my new car, every detail was clearly communicated for a flawless transaction. The best part is that Carvana gave me a substantially better trade-in amount than I could get from the dealership I purchased my old car from!

Carvana has an amazing automated process for buying a car online. It was very easy to trade in my car. Fair valuation and an easy process for submitting documents. The problems came when I bought a car from Carvana. The first car, had major problems. It stopped driving on my way home and the next day I took it to the manufacturer dealership to assess the issue. The car was only 2 years old and had less than 30K miles on it. They determined the car was in an unreported accident and had water in the relay box. They also identified several other issues with the car, all in, totaling over $10K in repairs needed.
Now, Carvana has a pretty good return policy - 7 days, which unfortunately, closes as the end of the 6th day. So I was able to return the car. However, the second car I got also had issues - although minor. I'm now going through an extended process to submit reimbursement paperwork for diagnostic fees and a rental car that I had during the period that the car I bought from Carvana would not work. You shouldn't be buying a car that has so many challenges. Apparently, Carvana buys a bunch of used cars without thoroughly checking the quality or issues. I wouldn't do it again. Because I had the premium warranty package, I was able to get my issues fixed.

Personally, I experienced some frustrations in using the website and completing the entire process of purchasing the Honda and trading-in my Venza; however I can really only blame myself for some of the challenges. For example I couldn't find the Title for the Venza which resulted in needing to twice reschedule the delivery/pick-up while I got a duplicate. However, when Carvana's agent - Primitivo ** - arrived for the delivery, all my anxiety and frustration was washed away by his amazing kindness, patience, and helpfulness, with things like the last minute signatures I needed. He was also immensely helpful in explaining and orienting me to my new vehicle. I was so impressed by Primitivo that it has left me with nothing but a 300% feeling of satisfaction with my whole Carvana experience. Please thank him again for me, and you can be certain that I won't hesitate to use Carvana again in the future. Thank you!!!

We have had a great experience with Carvana. The car we originally got was not up to our expectations, that’s the reason for 4/5 stars. The car was clean, but mechanically it needed a substantial tuneup. We found another car and Carvana was willing to do an exchange within our 7 day return window. The second car was exactly what we wanted and VERY mechanically sound. We told the man who delivered the second car exactly what was wrong with the first one. He took really good notes and submitted it to his supervisor. We were able to do all of this from the comfort of our home/driveway. I will definitely be recommending Carvana to my family and friends in the future.

Got the car on Good Friday, following Monday, engine light came on, took to dealership, had 1 day, engine light back on again, till as I write this the car is still in the shop. I would've exchanged the car, but Carvana wanted another $1000-$1990 to get another car. I'm stuck with possible a $23000 lemon. I would never, ever, buy from again! After it's delivered, you're on your own! I couldn't take it to one of the warranty shops, because it would've been at least a week before it could be looked at. The experience was a nightmare. I went thru the process, paid my Shipping fee. I was quoted my trade-in and after I had spent money as well for insurance and finished the process they come back to me. At the end the trade in value was way less than original quote, PS my car had a new engine put in and they would not take the new mileage of the car, only the odometer reading.
I had paperwork for the engine replacement as well as Carfax so it was not going to pay off my loan and a down payment. So, I cancel. Then they send me a email 3 hours later. "Congrats. You are approved," and the only thing in the email was sign documents so I was like I cancelled. So lo and behold they sent the updated terms buried in the email and as well said I continued the purchase which was absolutely false so if you are not careful you can sign for a lot more money you need to pay. They would not budge on the mileage. They were quick to take my money but yet slow to return it. Have to wait 10 days.

I want to begin this review by noting that I purposefully waited a few weeks to ensure that I was not writing from a place of anger or frustration and was as objective as possible. My experience with Carvana was incredibly disappointing and dissatisfying. In truth, the only reason that I gave two stars as opposed to one star is because every single employee that I dealt with was very polite and professional and that should be recognized. However, beyond that, I cannot say that there were many redeeming qualities about Carvana or this experience.
I will start by noting that this 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, VIN ** (Pathfinder), was originally scheduled to have been delivered to my residence on March 25, 2025, between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. On that day, at 4:10 p.m. (less than an hour before the start of the delivery window), I was notified that the delivery would be delayed by more than a week. This was incredibly frustrating both because I had already left work early to ensure that I would be home in time for the delivery window, and because there is no scenario that I can envision in which the nature of this delay would not have been known to Carvan well before 4:10 p.m. on the scheduled delivery date. Carvana’s failure to more promptly and accurately communicate shipping and delivery timing was unprofessional and is inexcusable.
The delivery was ultimately completed on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, without further issue. On Saturday, April 5, 2025, I had my first opportunity to meaningfully drive the vehicle. On that day, I turned on the vehicle and observed a significant amount of smoke billowing out from the exhaust. I called Carvana and was referred to SilverRock Warranty (SilverRock). SilverRock provided me with a list of approved service centers, however, most were unable to seem me until Monday, April 7th, which was too long to wait given the time restrictions of Carvana’s 7-day return window. I finally found an approved service center (Mr. Tire in Edgewater, MD) that could perform a diagnostic that same day and took the Pathfinder for a diagnostic.
The technician advised that the fuel system was dirty and recommended a flush, which SilverRock approved. The technician also found that the spark plugs had visible fouling and needed to be replaced, however, SilverRock refused to approve that repair/service unless and until a pressure test could be performed. The technician offered to send a photo of spark plugs’ condition to SilverRock to document and corroborate their status, but SilverRock insisted on the pressure test. Despite this service center being an approved SilverRock partner, they did not have the necessity equipment/expertise to perform the testing required by SilverRock. As such, I had to find a secondary service center.
I ultimately decided to take the Pathfinder to Nissan in Annapolis, MD, to ensure that there would be no further delays or issues about technical capacities or expertise. I did so with the understanding that I would have to pay out of pocket based upon my choice to use an out-of-network service center. Nissan completed a full diagnostic and found that there was sludge within the engine compartment and also that the valve cover gaskets were compromised and needed to be replaced. The quote to perform these repairs exceeded $2,000.
I inquired whether this would be covered through Nissan given that the Pathfinder had just over 43,000 miles and should still be covered by Nissan’s powertrain warranty. However, the service advisor explained that Nissan would likely reject the claim because they were not able to find any meaningful service records for this Pathfinder based upon the VIN and thus there was no proof that the Pathfinder had been appropriately maintained throughout its life.
Nissan also informed me that based upon their own prior experience in dealing with SilverRock, they suspect that SilverRock would also be likely to reject the claim and would attempt to direct me to try to fight Nissan to have their power train warranty cover the needed repairs. Ultimately, based upon all indicators suggesting that I would be left to pay for these repairs, with little assurance that the Pathfinder was otherwise in good mechanical condition, I decided to initiate the return process through Carvana.
The irony of this timeline of attempted repairs is that if SilverRock had been more reasonable with approving the repairs suggested by Mr. Tire and/or if Mr. Tire (a SilverRock approved service center) had the equipment and expertise to fully evaluate and service vehicles as required by SilverRock before they approve claims, I likely would have went home on Saturday, April 5th, with a Pathfinder with new sparkplugs and an engine compartment full of sludge. I likely would also have missed the 7-day return window and would have likely had to pay the more than $2,000 in repairs and hope that SilverRock did the right thing.
I ultimately returned the vehicle and was refunded the vehicle’s purchase price, and the shipping fee. However, I was not refunded the $495 delivery fee. The very polite Carvana representative (Marcus, I believe) tried his best to explain why that fee could not be refunded. Ultimately, it is Carvana’s policy, and I do not hold the representative responsible for something outside of his control. However, I do believe that Carvana’s policy of not refunding the delivery fee, especially under these circumstances, is just poor customer service. Ultimately, I paid $495 to have a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, in good working condition, delivered to my residence on March 25, 2025. The vehicle was neither in good working condition, nor was it was delivered on March 25, 2025. I held up my end of the bargain by paying $495, but Carvana failed to hold up their end of the bargain.
In summary, here are my impressions and takeaways from this experience. (1) Carvana has polite and courteous staff at each stage (e.g., phone centers representatives, delivery personnel, and Gaithersburg vending machine representatives). (2) Carvana is likely a convenient option for someone interested in selling a vehicle that is in good cosmetic condition, as Carvana’s vetting process for vehicles’ prior maintenance and current mechanical condition does not appear to be too stringent. (3) Carvana’s internal tracking system for shipping and delivery timing estimates appears to be more aspirational than accurate, which is bizarre in an age of GPS and other tracking technology. (4) The Carvana “certification” and “150-point inspection” is either not nearly as comprehensive as otherwise suggested to the public, and/or is not being performed by qualified technicians.
(5) Purchasing a quality vehicle through Carvana may likely be a product of good fortune (and responsible prior vehicle owners) and not any rigorous vetting or reconditioning process by Carvana. (6) SilverRock warranty does not necessarily partner with service centers have the technical capacity or expertise to perform the work that they require before they will approve claims. (7) SilverRock’s reputation for honoring claims, as reported by service center personnel, is inconsistent at best.
(8) In looking at Carvana’s website, I can see that as of April 24, 2025, the same 2020 Nissan Pathfinder (VIN **) has already been re-sold, and I sincerely hope that either Carvana was ethical and addressed the noted mechanical issues before re-selling it to an unsuspecting customer, or the new buyer is able to discover the truth about this vehicle within their own 7-day return window. (9) I could not envision purchasing a vehicle through Carvana in the future and knowing that I would only have 7 days for any serious mechanical issues/flaws to hopefully reveal themselves before they would realistically become my own financial burden. (10) I could not envision recommending that anyone I know purchase a vehicle through Carvana for all of the aforementioned reasons.

The new car seemed great until I cleaned it myself. Inside and outside were pretty clean. Literally an inch of mud coating everything under the car! I couldn't do that to a car if I had ll day. Never seen anything like it. I'm strangely still excited about the car so I clean it myself. Took me 45 minutes to get it off with a pressure washer. Chunks falling off like coffee cups. Carvana offered to pay me $100 to pay for a detail but not until the 7 day return window was closed. Whatever. Then, I picked up a friend to go to the airport. When we hit 55 mph the car started shaking uncontrollably. At this point I immediately called to exchange it. Exchange was pretty easy. Same make and model. But I lose the $100 for my cleaning effort.
I get a call the day of pickup on the exchange vehicle telling me that the car has 33,000 miles instead of 3,200 miles as advertised! So we had to change the price and jump through all sorts of hoops to get the deal done. More miles than I wanted but I just wanted it to be over. At pickup, the car vending machine wasn't working so I didn't get that satisfaction. The car had some chips in the windshield that were not disclosed. They agree to buy me a new windshield. The glass contractor they hired gave me an 8am - 5pm window of time when they will come to my house and do the work. Come to find out that they knew all along that they weren't possibly going to get to my house until late afternoon but didn't bother to tell me. 6:15 PM rolls around and they still haven't come. I cancelled the service. Now I'm going somewhere else to get the window taken care of. Still unresolved.
The whole thing was just so disappointing. The inspection process must be flawed to get a car that literally shakes at highway speed and is covered in thick mud. Everyone was very nice along the way but nobody is empowered to really help me. Nobody has a "Here's what we're going to do for you because we royally screwed up". Sorry this. Sorry that. "I didn't write the rules". They've really tried to make things mechanical and straightforward but when you need them to bend they don't. When you need satisfaction you don't get it. So yes. 1 star. sorry.

Shortly after purchase started having trouble with power steering and shop found that there was damage to the vehicle that should have been easily identified if they looked under the vehicle. It had clearly hit something or jumped a curb prior to purchasing. Manufacture warranty was voided on the power steering because someone had tried to "fix" it without taking it in somewhere which if they inspect under the hood they would have seen. They do not want to take any accountability or extend the limited warranty. The 3 months I have owned the car it has been in the shop longer than in my possession.

This lead to me having to contact customer service multiple times as the AI chatbot did not help in the slightest. I can't say much better for the customer service team as they acted rudely, told me I would lose my purchase and offered no assistance, even though it was information I couldn't have know before the purchase, lied to me about my address verification documents being approved, and over relied on canned responses to push through the conversation. When we called both Silver Rock and Carvana they both said there was nothing they could do because the warranty was expired, as if we had not been waiting for their shop to address the issue. The Hyundai dealership thinks they know what the issue is but now the repair is on us, a half a year of car and insurance payments later while it sat in one parking lot or another. The process might be convenient, but don't expect a trouble-free vehicle or any satisfaction from their warranty process. I secured insurance the following day on Saturday and uploaded the certificate of insurance. I was called again and advised that it was inadequate since my insurance renewal date on my insurance (I have a bundle policy with other insurance) was in 28 days, they said that I need to secure an insurance renewal, there must be at least 30 days of coverage in effect.
Back to my insurance carrier I went and secured the renewal, uploaded and was then advised that the date of the insurance certificate needed to be changed because the delivery/pick up date had changed. I tried to advise them it was covered but they wanted the coverage for at least 24 hours prior to pick up date. Meanwhile if they just changed the pickup date as they said they did initially this would not have been an issue. This should be my second notation of this complaint, but no "Weather Delay" stipulation was advised to us since the vehicle was being transported from Colorado. Since we purchased the vehicle towards the end of the winter season, we could have better prepared when it came to selling our POV. We were without a car for 3 days. Just help customers be more aware of this type of unconventional problem.

If I could leave no stars I would! Horrible. Worst experience ever. NOT SAFELY INSPECTED VEHICLES. It's convenient yes but to buy a car and have it delivered to you and not even 5 minutes into the drive and the check engine light turns on, starts misfiring so already first day had to take car to the shop. Stayed there 3-4days! I contacted Carvana. All they said was to traded it back in or get my money back so it seems like they don't care too much if the cars are safely inspected or not and just again today, I had to leave my car at the Shop once again, not even seven days until my test driving.
Another problem got found. Ball joints were going bad, Rotors were Horrible and all that might not be covered. I'm Not too happy if I have to pay out-of-pocket for some Work that needs to be done that I did not cause its was delivered to me last Thursday. I've had the car only two days out of the 7 day period. It's been in the shop the remaining days, These cars are supposedly inspected And passed inspection and I get no help from the advocates. A lot of miscommunication as well! Damage found on my car and asked for price reduction since I was told we could and they denied it! So horrible I wouldn't buy here again or even recommend to anyone. Sorry not sorry.

Once everything was finished and I was looking at the car it was dirty inside and out. Covered in dog fur. The vehicle also said it needs an oil change so I told the employee who wrote it up and said someone would take care of it.... 8 days later I still haven't heard from anyone. Whoever is inspecting the vehicle and sending it off as everything has passed needs to have knowledge of how vehicles work. I shouldn’t be getting a vehicle paying 30,000 with clear signs there should be something fixed before putting it up for sell or giving it to a customer after the purchase. Y'all need to do a better job on inspecting the vehicles. Shouldn’t have happened with 2 cars back to back. It show y'all do 150pt inspections. Y'all need to stay true to that and actually inspect the vehicles. It’s what y'all get paid to do so do y’all’s job correctly.

I bought the car Friday the 11th of April, 30 minutes into driving home from picking up my car in the Norfolk location I was pulled over and told my front left light was out. Then went to the garage the next day Saturday and found out the whole assembly had to be take out 1700 it would cost and a few other things that needed repairs as well. Needless to say your company gave me a 7 day return policy yet my car was in the shop the day after I bought it and I wasn't able to pick it up until the 7th day at 4:30pm so I think that was very unethical due to this was Carvana's fault.
My car was in the shop and I only was able to drive my car 4 hours and that was the day I bought the car so I'm very unhappy. After the repairs I took my car the same day to the car wash to come out the car wash and water spill all over my lap from my visor in my driver's seat. I have had this truck 7 days and nothing but problems so now my truck is needing to get fix again. This is not a convenience for my children and myself being a single parent.

I purchased my Alfa Romeo Giulia from Carvana. Overall, I'm satisfied with the experience. Mostly because I love the car. Carvana is literally just a dealer that you have no real contact with, which means if things aren't quite right, good luck getting them resolved.
1. Car arrived with a hood that wouldn't latch after opening. It ended up being a simple fix I did myself. WD40 to loosen the latches and a minor alignment adjustment. This should not have made it through inspection.
2. I took the car to the dealer (Alfa Romeo Merriam KS) and they identified all 4 brake rotors as needing to be replaced (heavily grooved). The front pads were at 5mm, which meets Carvana's inspection, but the rear pads were 0mm and 1mm, which does not. After dealing with them about the hood, I've just been sorting this out myself. It's not going to be cheap though. A full set of rotors and pads are ~$3000 for this Alfa.
3. Carvana has ALWAYS missed the first appointment. Once for my purchase. Once for my sale of my existing car. I've heard from others that this happened with them as well.
Recommendations
1. Refuse the car if you don't like the condition for any reason.2. Take the car to a licensed mechanic or dealer to get it inspected within your 7 day return window. If anything comes up, you can return it if they won't make good on it.
3. Do your research and be prepared to put some money into a used car. This is with any service, dealer, or individual sale.

I was notified 20 minutes before my appointment that my car would not be ready on time. Then when I got there an hour later it still wasn’t ready. You could tell someone rushed through a cleaning real quick one they put it up in the tower. I wish there had been a better picture of the bubbled rear window tint that will need to be replaced or taken off since it is as if you are looking through water every time you look behind you. Also picture of key fob showed a nice one but the other fob is solid black where all of the writing has wore off (again no picture of this).
When I got it home to use the fob with visible symbols on it that was dead so I had to replace the battery for it to even unlock. Car also does not have a spot for a front license plate that is required in my state so I guess I’ll figure that out. I would have thought a temp tag should have gone up there too. Buying from Carvana is not worth the convenience of shopping from home. The first vehicle we purchased was delivered dead on arrival and with far more damage than was described. After being sent back to repair what ever was wrong with it, our re-delivery date kept getting pushed back which caused an inconvenience because we both have to take the day off to sign when it arrives. That purchase was ultimately cancelled and another vehicle was purchased. Then the nightmare with that one began. We requested that the tag from the vehicle we traded in be assigned to the vehicle we purchased.
We live in Florida so I know it is permitted. The tag from the Kia was a specialty tag and sequential to the tag on our other vehicle so we wanted to keep it. Surprise, a new tag was assigned and now I have to deal with the DMV. Carvana is a crap shoot, you may get lucky but more than likely the hassle and run around won't be worth it. I won't make the same mistake again and suggest every else avoid them as well.

They don't take it off the truck until you sign. Immediately I was missing a charger (it's a Tesla and it was in the photos). They tried to tell me to deal with warranty. I am still trying to resolve this. FURTHERMORE, a trim piece for whatever reason was incorrect and I was PROMISED this would be resolved if I kept the car. Upon Tesla installing the part, they showed where bodywork was done incorrectly and I have chipping clear coat. Carvana will not repair it. Both Tesla and the Tesla-approved local body shop believe Carvana did some repairs before sale, as they even pulled some masking tape off the car.
I would have returned it, but I was promised this would be fixed and the first appointment Tesla had was just outside of the return window. I trusted Tamara when she promised they would fix this. They just pass it off to "warranty" (also their company), who tells you to get bent. Don't trust them. They won't drive you happy. They are selling my trade at a $10K markup, and can't even get this fixed at a shop of their choice. When I called, they said there was nothing they can do about it seeing how it was not in the drivers view. Also on pick up I inspected the vehicle and noticed a tail light out. They could not fix it because don’t have a mechanic. I drove 4 1/2 hours to pick this vehicle up so that means I had to drive the vehicle 4 1/2 hours back with no tail light.

Frustrating Experience with CARVANA’s Military-Unfriendly Policy. I’ve spent the last two weeks trying to purchase a vehicle through CARVANA, and it’s been nothing but frustration and wasted time. As an Active Duty military member temporarily stationed in Mississippi, I went through the full ordering process—only to be told I needed a Mississippi driver’s license to proceed. I explained repeatedly that I’m only here on military orders, and that by law, I’m not required to change my license or home of record.
Despite that, CARVANA’s rigid policy insisted on a state license. I tried to cancel, but then another rep would call, saying they could work it out. That led me to start the process all over again—several times—each time with the hope that it would finally work. Meanwhile, a substantial down payment was pending the entire time. Every time I canceled, I was told it would take 3–5 business days for my refund. That money could have gone toward a local purchase with less hassle and more respect for my military status. Mississippi law only requires that I show my orders—not change my license—and yet CARVANA wouldn’t budge.
At this point, I feel like I’ve been tricked and led along just to prolong the process and tie up my money. It’s incredibly disappointing. CARVANA’s policies seem out of touch with military life, and the runaround I experienced made it clear that convenience is only a selling point when everything goes perfectly. For those serving on orders out of state—look elsewhere.

I am going to write a story. On April 26th, after much consideration, I decided on a vehicle and started the process to purchase online. I chose my vehicle and was asked to upload documents after reviewing the financial agreement. a down payment of 1400 was required in addition to a 190-delivery fee. I started submitting docs through the portal and was asked to upload 2 years of tax return docs. I only had the most recent because I didn't work 2023. My income is nontaxable.
I contacted Carvana and tried to explain and they insisted on requiring the 2 years. I immediately asked them to cancel the order. This all happened within a span of 45 minutes. The order was cancelled, and I moved onto other options of purchasing a vehicle online. Now mind you, within the first 10 minutes of starting the financial agreement docs, Carvana had withdrew the 1400 for the down payment and 190 for the delivery fee. It is now 20 days later and counting... I have not been refunded those fees.
I contacted them today. I was told their automated system never started the refund process and they had to submit a ticket. The ticket is so that a real human being can begin my refund process. The review of the ticket and it being accepted by someone to being processing will take 24-48 hours. THEN my refund will take an additional 5-7 days. UNACCEPTABLE!!
If I had to make a car payment to Carvana and I was, let's see, add up all the time in taking, processing, and returning my refund, approximately 30 days for them to receive my car payment. Would I not be charged interest? Would there not be a penalty? Well businesses like Carvana should be handled the same way. We deserve the same interest in our payments as they would receive from ours. I AM 100% DISAPPOINTED in this WHOLE EXPERIENCE with Carvana. NOW I have to wait another week to finish buying a vehicle I HAVE been approved for because I need the down payment to complete my purchase.
For anyone considering Carvana, be aware—if your order is canceled, you may be waiting weeks for your refund, even when the cancellation happens in minutes. This experience has delayed my ability to purchase a vehicle elsewhere, and it shows how little urgency Carvana places on returning customers’ money. Disappointed isn’t a strong enough word for what I feel right now.

We finally got the car and the next day noticed a reflector was broken on the rear bumper and the key fob was completely dead (we bought a new battery the day of receiving the car as well).
I then had to schedule through silver rock to get a new fob, your customer service is the least useful group I’ve had to deal with. Multiple conversations with queued prompts that led to frustrating conversations. I was being quoted 350$ for a new fob and your customer service basically told me to “work with the dealer to see what they could do”, I’ve had it less than a week, you should have been jumping through hoops to make sure I was satisfied and Carvana did not. The 150 point inspection: my brakes were squeaking on day 1, vehicle had significantly more chipped paint (appeared to be fresh..maybe during transportation?) that was not pictured in the photos, + back taillight had moisture leaking into the inside of the light. Took the vehicle to one of their in-network mechanics + they said the rotors were unsafe to drive on + needed to be replaced. They said standard practice was to replace the brake pads too so they correctly fit on rotors. Carvana agreed to pay for the rotors + taillight, but not the brake pads.
Registration: I communicated to Carvana that I wanted to keep my previous plates+the delivery guy handed them to me before taking off. Was given a window of time for registration to be completed, but was given no notice about when I could put my plates on. Called Carvana, the rep said they didn’t note I wanted to keep my old plates, so issued me new plates, but they were never delivered. Tracking number said it was delivered but only showed a zip code…my correct address was on file but they sent it “somewhere.” I asked what could be done + they said they could send me a duplicate set. WHY would I want duplicate plates? Where did the first ones go? And WHO has those?
Then she said I could go to the DMV to try to register my new vehicle under my old plates….1) Carvana already charged me for new plates, 2) how was I supposed to communicate this mess of a situation that CARVANA caused, 3) I don’t want some rando having the same plate number as me that would be traced back to ME..what a MESS. Best she could do was escalate to the resolution department.
Carvana as a company did a terrible job. Luckily I did my research + looked at the Carfax report, which showed the previous owner took really good care of the vehicle. That was my saving grace. I also appreciated how much Carvana offered for my previous vehicle. But in summary: their crew did a bad job on the brakes (one of the few things they needed to fix before selling me the vehicle), chipped the paint in several areas when transporting the vehicle, missed the cracked taillight, + totally screwed me over with the registration (I still have no plates+ no resolution).

I checked the vehicle but it didn't occur to me to remove the stickers. I asked the driver, "Are there any steps that I am missing in checking the vehicle?" and he could have suggested to take off the stickers but they obviously were concealing imperfections. I researched this tactic and saw that this a common practice by Carvana. In fact, many customers have attempted to sue and in vain were only able to submit complaints to the Better Business Bureau.
After talking to Carvana both via chat and by phone, I was told that my only recourse was to return the car and get a new one since I was still within the 7 day return policy. He said customer service handles any undocumented damage. I thought that meant someone would reach out. 4 days go by nothing, paid to have car detailed. Called customer service.
They state only 3 days left to take care of this. He gave me authorized repair location almost an hour away. Contacted them. They said they would need the car for at least 3 days. We bought because we needed a car, not sitting in a service facility. Our 1st carrot carvana also had damage but we were able to take to a local body shop who ordered thr parts and fixed in one day. I accepted the vehicle based on an assumption and driver confirmation, that Carvana would make this right as it was clearly an oversight based on how detailed they were with any other imperfections the truck had. Keep in mind this is a 2024, basically new $66k vehicle, with barely over 1000 miles on it. BUYER BEWARE - they do not fully disclose issues and when it arrives you roll the dice if they will fix it, which in my case they denied with absolutely no justification. They also wait to deny your claim until your 7 day return policy has expired. I will not consider Carvana for any further purchases. If this was not intentional, they would make it right, which tells me all I need to know about this company.

This was my second vehicle purchase from Carvana. My first purchase was awesome; this time not so much. I do like the car I purchased, but it was not exactly what I expected. Firstly, there was significant cosmetic damage that was not disclosed prior to purchase. Secondly, I have had this car for less than a week, and I just spent $1300 repairing it. I attempted to file a claim with Carvana/SilverRock, but they claimed the repairs necessary would be covered by the Subaru powertrain warranty. Because the repairs were required due to prior accident/collision repair (the collision history was listed on Carfax) Subaru would not cover any of the repairs under warranty.
I know things happen, but there was obvious audible noise coming from front tire area that should have been addressed prior to listing this vehicle for sale. While I acknowledge that I likely could have refused the vehicle during my 7 day window, I feel like that is a flimsy excuse for failing to fully document glaring cosmetic flaws, as well as selling a two year old vehicle with 4 bad tires and a faulty wheel bearing.

Initially, the purchase of my 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK 300 Roadster convertible was suprisingly easy. Found my car online on a Suturday. Pick-up was scheduled for the following Tuesday, Monday, I recieve a text that shipping had caused a delay of 10 days. Ok, not that big a deal. I finaly go pick up the car. It is beautiful just as advertised! Or so I thought. I get behind the wheel and drive away.
As soon as I accelerate, car starts cutting out. I take it to a local national branded shop that is within their network. They tell me that it needs a new intake manifold. I go through the process with their warranty company. Repair is completed at no cost to me. I bring the car home, after 8 days in the shop. Now it is leaking oil all over my driveway and garage. I take the car back to same repair facility. I tell them it still is cutting out, feels like it won't shift from first to second gear. They keep the car for 2 more days. I pick it up now the 7 day return (and $0 copay period) has expired. They tell me I have a $100 copay.
The Carvana inspection crew did not replace crush washer on drain plug. They simply put a second one on, so once oil got warm, started leaking. Had the car another week. Still was not shifting right. I took it into a specifically transmission shop (now I am out of network) they tell me I was right, it needs a new transmission. They have had the car now 9 days. Today I received a call, warranty company approved the repair with a $350 copay. Today is Wednesday, I was told that the transmission should be in on Monday, at latest I get car back next Thursday. This was a HUGE MISTAKE. Anything that seems too good to be true.... Never again!

Complete Disaster – Incompetent, Unprofessional, and Costly Mistake by Carvana. I’ve had one of the worst car-buying experiences of my life with Carvana. What was marketed as a seamless and modern way to buy a car turned into over three months of stress, financial loss, and sheer incompetence. After purchasing a vehicle, I was left completely in the dark regarding the registration process. I couldn’t legally drive the car for over 90 days, during which I received little to no communication, only empty reassurances from different representatives who clearly had no grasp on my situation. The delays cost me lost income, as I depend on having a vehicle for work. Carvana’s lack of professionalism and urgency has real consequences for their customers, and they clearly don’t care.
And just when I thought the ordeal was coming to an end — they finally sent the registration, but somehow managed to register my vehicle as a semi-truck/trailer. Yes, you read that right. A standard passenger vehicle was registered as a commercial truck. This kind of mistake is not only unbelievable but downright negligent. It’s insulting to go through months of delay, only to be handed a registration that makes the vehicle unusable again.
Carvana has completely failed to deliver on even the most basic responsibilities of a car dealer. Their processes are broken, their customer service is disorganized, and their mistakes have directly cost me time, money, and peace of mind. I strongly urge anyone considering Carvana to think twice. This company is not ready to handle something as important as your transportation needs.

The car was also very dirty/dusty and smelled of cigarettes. Overall I love it, but I just wish it had come a little more clean. Carvana has agreed to cover the fix on one of the imperfections, a missing patch of the window tint. I really appreciate that.

The car is fine. However, the service was horrendous. The verification department created so many unnecessary hurdles, that I had to reorder the same car 6 times. It was ridiculous. I had my finance company on the phone and they verified the funds, despite the check being received a week in advance (there was tracking) and a copy of the front and back of the check was in their possession and that still was not sufficient. I live in a state that the tags says non-transferable on the registration because a car gets transferred by the title not the registration.
The verification department tells me that’s not acceptable, to the point that I went to the DMV and a manager got on the phone to tell them the same thing. I had a free and clear title and they still said that wasn’t sufficient. I do not recommend Carvana for this and many other reason. Had I not received the best trade price on my Tesla, which arguably is a better car than the ETron I bought, technology wise, I would not have stuck with Carvana. The only issue is that after putting my down payment on my credit card (the only transaction I have used that card for in months) my card was hacked and received multiple $160 charges to Intuit software. It was caught by my credit card company, but I had to have the card replaced. I don't have proof that this was directly tied to the Carvana purchase but seeing as that card is never used the timing is suspicious and I think the online and physical security practices of user data should be reviewed.

Very dangerous and potentially catastrophic damage done to rear end of truck. After calling carvana and warranty being down. To find out I personally have to pay a deductible for a major safety issue that could have put others or myself at risk. Carvana says I’m sol on deductible, unfortunately for Carvana this will be escalated to attorney generals desk. You can not sell vehicles with safety issues to a consumer. I had seen the commercials, but I never knew anyone that actually used Carvana. At first I was a little hesitant because I was not sure of how the process went. However, after looking through their inventory and finding a car that I wanted, the process was very smooth and efficient. I don’t have the best of credit right now, but Carvana was able to get me approved for thousands of vehicles, most of which are newer used vehicles with lower mileage. After I found the car that I wanted, I was able to get through the paperwork with ease and picked up my car from a local Carvana location two days after approval. They give you a seven day exchange or money back guarantee period which is a plus. During that period I was able to drive the car and also see how it would fit into my life. I was not satisfied with the car after test driving it and wanted to make a switch.
Switching vehicles was just as easy, if not easier, then going through the purchase process the first time. During the exchange, I was able to find a newer year vehicle with even less miles on it. The vehicle was practically brand new. Now I have a vehicle that I love. When it comes to cars, get the gap insurance (something I wish I knew a few cars ago) and the extended warranty. I anticipated on having maintenance issues down the line, but not within 7 days. That’s crazy! Unfortunately, I wasn’t in a position at the time to do a diagnostic test at the dealership (which was $300) might I add. So I drove about an hour away to another dealership that was more my price range just to hear that the vehicle needs a new battery and some electrical work done. Another unfortunate thing is the warranty expired before I purchased the vehicle. So I’m having to pay everything out of pocket and I haven’t even had the vehicle two weeks yet… Smh.

Purchased a car from Carvana in March of 2025. Took delivery and drove home. Upon further inspection I noticed that one of the tires had a 3-inch hole on the sidewall and a large gash and dent in the rim, damage to the front fender as well as a damaged hood latch. Issues that Carvana missed during pre-sale inspection or maybe worse just simply ignored. The detail job they did was pretty crappy too and the car smelled like cigarettes and cheap air freshener. Figured it wouldn't be a big deal to reach out and get at least a new tire due to the clear (according to their customer service team and Firestone) safety issue. Wasn't as concerned about the latch or the rim but tires are $500 and this one was not due to normal wear.
The people there were very nice and advised that I call the insurance company that they contract with Silver Rock. They were nice as well but that's where the positive experience ended. I have now had the case opened and closed three times and each time with this is not covered from both Silver Rock and finally today also from Carvana. Had the tire blown out and caused an accident this would have been a serious lawsuit given that Carvana was negligent in their inspection and someone could easily have been hurt.
The right thing to do would have been to simply replace the tire. Instead, I spent at least 10 phone calls and several hours on the phone being reassured they would take care of it. Not once did either company keep me updated. Every time I had to follow up. In the end both Carvana and Silver Rock are just like many other big businesses. Luckily it is a minor issue as the rest of the car is in good shape. As a consumer I feel like they really missed the boat on customer service. In the end I am out about $1,000 but the experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. With all the buying options I would not use Carvana again. Had this been a more significant issue I feel like the results would have been the same.

Actually, a claim was submitted ON DELIEVER DAY with a faulty radio. This means Carvana took my money to ship and deliver a vehicle they knew was fault. My small child and I were left stranded in the parking lot needing a jump. I took it to the SilverRock approved repair shop for a diagnostic. SilverRock then said it needed to go to the Jeep dealership for any diagnostics or repairs since it is still under warranty. The dealership then found multiple irreparable damages. I'm definitely feeling scammed. Please do better by your customers, especially when taking a risk in this economy.

Carvana's 150 point inspection should be taken with a grain of salt. You wouldn't expect a 2016 Equinox with less than 39K miles (at purchase) to have any major issues. The problem starting when during a March warm spell my wife informed me that the AC didn't work. No big deal so I thought, since I'm a vehicle tech for a government agency, I'll check it out.
Freon low? It wouldn't take a charge, nor was I able to command the AC compressor to come on through my scan tool. Found AC compressor fuse blown. Replaced fuse blown. Blows again. Serious problem. On inspection when I pulled the vehicle into my personal shop that there was a rats nest of cobbled wiring that feeds (1) the CV clutch on the compressor, (2) AC freon pressure switch, (3) AC compressor clutch, (4) alternator field wiring that is crucial to make sure the alternator gets the proper feedback to charge the battery, (5) broken connector to the CKP (crankshaft position sensor) and (6) the fan wiring had been spliced with a aftermarket replacement connector and someone had used wire nuts to make the connections.
The reason behind the mess is only a guess? Chewed on by an animal kicked up road debris who knows. Numbers 1-5 connectors had been replaced, but instead of being properly soldered and heat-shrink protection, the wiring was just twisted together and taped with non-automotive electrically tape not made for the automotive environment. Luckily the wire colors matched the terminal pins correctly, but that's the only good thing. Upon removing that section of harness to do the repairs on the topside I had to disconnect the starter solenoid wire and found the starter was loose!! It was held in by one bolt on the bottom. The top bolt was missing!
Found the AC compressor clutch itself is shorted. I measured less than half an ohm which is basically a dead short. I was able to correctly repair the wiring back to its original configuration. I had to replace the crank sensor connector since it was broken and would not lock into the tab on the sensor itself. Thankfully my local Pick and Pull had the connector I needed, plus a bolt for the starter that was missing and the factory correct fan wiring.
Even though we bought the vehicle in January after my wife's 2015 Equinox was t-boned when a girl blew through a stop sign, the inspection should have caught this and had it repaired before the vehicle was offered for sale. My best guess is that they knew this and chose to ignore it. Buyer beware. Do your due diligence and inspect everything that you can and make sure everything works. Other than that, so far, no other issues. I have uploaded all relevant pictures, the last pic shows how the wiring should look, as factory.

They shipped a car to me that had an obvious problem, it was clear to me that the vehicle had not been inspected thoroughly before it was sold to me. After opening up a complaint they told me I needed to take it to a mechanic in their network so they could work with their partner "Silverrock Insurance".
After scheduling time in my day to find a mechanic and then scheduling time a different day to drive the car to the mechanic, I received a call the same day informing me that "Silverrock" would not cover the car and that it needed to be taken in to a dealership. After extensive chats with multiple customer service agents to try to find out what this process would be like I started calling dealerships to see who would work with this silverrock insurance. I could not get in touch with anyone anywhere and my 7 day return window is running out. I went back to customer service and they were just zero help all around. One rep even reprimanded me for asking too many questions at once..
All in all I wasted 2 full days of my time testing this car and running it around trying to fix it only to have Carvana's insurance company refuse to pay the mechanic $800 to fix it and instead have me bring it to a dealership to wait god knows how long for it to be fixed, which I refused and instead opted to return the car. Once I did I was back on with Carvana customer service who were again supremely unhelpful. The only thing I asked of them this time is that when their tech came to pick up the car that they please text me instead of call since I'm frequently on the phone for work. They refused.
After all of the hassle this garbage company put me through they refused even the most minor thing they could possible do to help me out. I would not buy from them again. Found exact car needed along with Car Fax. Pre-approved financing available and quick verification process. Full loan details and fees laid out before order is placed
Order Placed Process: Upload required documents such as insurance, driver's license, registration info. Insurance required before delivery can be confirmed…weird rule. Insurance update required within 24hrs, but mine was delayed a day. Missed initial delivery date due to insurance going into effect the following week (Not a Carvana issue). Online Notary was about 10 minutes for wait and the verification process. After all documents were signed and approved delivery was confirmed
Delivery Process: Multiple confirmations that delivery was all set and car was at nearby facility. Morning of delivery was told via call, text, and email that due to a delay it would be scheduled for the following Monday…no details except that if there are further delays we will let you know. Monday arrived and driver called when they were leaving Carvana facility…arrived between 5-8pm window at about 6:45pm. Transfer process was quick….signed an odometer update paper and registration, test drove new car while driver loaded trade in, got back and that was it
Inspection Process: Scheduled mechanic look through for following day. Found a few wearable issues: Rear brake pads were installed incorrectly and were wearing uneven (previous owner issue not Carvana). Rear rotors pretty worn and may need replaced. Rear tire tread pretty worn. Front brakes and tires looked good (newer winter tires). Both control arms need replaced. Carvana warranty submitted and approved same day, just had to pay for inspection

The whole experience was exceptional, painless to buy online and never having to talk to a person. The delivery was flawless as well. The driver was very kind and professional and respected my car and property.

Front brakes needed replaced soon as I got it delivered. Also was not informed about the many cosmetic issues. Damaged I was only informed about a few scratches paying way more than the truck is worth you'd expect it to not have all these issues. Brakes. Damaged headliner. Driver door and tailgate painted arctic white while the rest of the truck is Oxford white, very very noticeable difference, it's the xl and I'm paying for best model basically. Would not recommend Carvana to anyone.

While I will say, my purchase was approved within a couple of days, much faster than a traditional dealership, the experience has not been the simple, seamless one they market. To start, there was a lot of back-and-forth between Carvana and my insurance company (Carvana sending incorrect or incomplete documents to my insurance, etc., resulting in me having to make several phone calls to one business or another over a period of hours to ensure everything was properly communicated).
Finally, the day of delivery arrived. The gentleman was very professional, he called me ahead of time and handled all the paperwork (although I couldn't figure out why he didn't know if we were transferring my plates, since I had already been over that with customer service). Shortly after he left, I hopped in my new car to take it for a wash (since it showed up detailed on the inside but filthy on the outside, complete with some kind of nail polish-like markings on the rear window), and I immediately noticed something was not right.
To start, the "Oil Change Required" alert came on, followed by the "Washer Fluid Low" alert. These items should be a no-brainer if Carvana truly does a 150-point inspection and oil change prior to delivery. Then I got on the road. There was a thumping noise coming from the driver's side, the brake pedal shuddered with each stop, there was a scraping sound when turning that I knew right away was bad brakes, not to mention the completely blown speaker.
I took it to my mechanic for a full diagnosis, which I paid for out of pocket because he is not a Carvana mechanic, but obviously, I wanted someone I trust to check it out. His findings, on top of the blown speaker and lack of washer fluid, included: Bad front and rear brakes, bad struts, a nail in one tire, an oil leak around the transmission, and to top it off, window tint that is too dark to pass my state's inspection.
Then I took it to a Carvana-approved mechanic who assessed and priced everything mechanical with Silver Rock. I then had to wait for parts to come in, so my appointment would not be until my 7th day of having the car (when I should be able to have it pass state inspection by then). While I wait for that to be completed, I had to contact Silver Rock directly to find out what I need to do about the blown speaker (which they said SHOULD be approved to be fixed -- after spending tens of thousands of dollars, I should hope so, I should at least be able to listen to a podcast while I drive) and the window tint.
They informed me that I will need to take it to have the speaker repair priced and approved, which will mean I then have to take it back a separate time to be fixed, and I will have to have THEM call Silver Rock to let them know the window tint will not pass inspection (because my word and my mechanic's word is apparently not enough), at which point I will need to set up an appointment with the glass company to have THAT remedied, and THEN I can hopefully pass inspection, meaning I will either be overdue for inspection on my new car, or I will have to pay for a Rejected sticker and then, after everything is remedied, pay for a passing sticker.
I have had to spend a lot of time, energy, and aggravation to fix all of these issues that should not have been present had Carvana actually done their due diligence as they claim they do. This experience has been wildly frustrating and disappointing, and nothing like what Carvana touts itself to be. I would never recommend any friend or family member to Carvana after this.

I bought a1018 BMW i3 the in March, and it was sold without the range finder that was advertised and I was charged for. I turned it in for a 2019, and it didn't come with the parking assist as advertised (that I also paid for!). When I told them the parking assist was not on the car and sent clear pictures of where the sensors SHOULD be (attached), I was told "yes, you have this feature, you just don’t know how to use it" and they closed the case. I spoke with several people who all said, "Sorry, case closed", even though I have physical proof it is not on the car (again, look at the pics). I had to go to the BMW dealership to get a list of EVERY feature on my VIN, and parking assist (like I said) was not on the car. When I tried to show the person my sheet, they said it wasn’t necessary and that they were “on the BMW website and it shows your car has this feature (huh??) and disputed the printed facts that he refused to even look at.
I am furious that I was called a liar, and it's a horrible experience knowing a customer service agent can just hang up on you with impunity. I finally found an agent that would look at my feature list. He went to bat for me, and they told him the same. Luckily, he had them cut me a $500 check, which I still have not received. The vending machine isn’t cool enough for such bad customer service and lack of attention to detail on what most people would consider the biggest financial decision they will make. My 3 purchases at Carmax were smooth as silk, this has been a frustrating pain in the butt that has soured what should have been a fun and exciting experience. BTW, everyone in the building/vending machine were amazing. Big smiles, great service, no complaints.

Wasn't able to get the exact vehicle I wanted due to it being on hold. It never appeared to come off hold, so settled for a different vehicle. Financing rate was very high, but the delivery experience was pretty good. Trade value felt a bit low as well. Overall, it was an ok experience. Nice not being harassed by a salesman.

Purchasing a car through Carvana was by far the easiest and most pleasant car-buying experience of my life. No pressuring you into buying warranties and accessories. No pressure at all and they deliver exactly when they promise to deliver, allow you to take a test drive and closely inspect the vehicle, and offer a 7-day money back guarantee. Amazing. There's no going back to the old ways of buying a car ever for me.

Nice vehicle, as described. Terrible job on detailing the car before we arrived. Dirty smear marks all over plastic parts. Dark oil residue on large portions of leather seats with black grimy areas as well. Sales associate even commented: "I will be honest, our detailers don't do a very good job". Also found a large cluster of insulation, leaves, and nuts (from mice or squirrels) formed on top of engine, between ignition wires, under the protective cover. Complete lack of detail. Not to mention lots of overspray from spot painting the body (and Bondo), making it obvious that Carvana was covering up some flaws. Not a huge deal on a 9-year-old vehicle, but it was definitely disappointing to see.

We have purchased from Carvana before and were very pleased. This time not so much. Most importantly, the car description was inaccurate. It noted a power front passenger seat which was important to us. The passenger seat is NOT powered and has no lumbar support. Secondly, the car interior was not cleaned well. Windows and rear view mirror were quite dirty and smeared with the rear windows showing evidence of previous pet use. Beyond these items, the transaction was relatively smooth. We were annoyed that hard deadlines were set and that a delivery fee was expected when our previous delivery was free. I missed posting proof of insurance by 35 minutes and had to reschedule our pick-up a day later.
