We just bought a car with an $808 scam fee. They count on the fact that you won't notice and call it a "transfer fee" to make it sound innocuous. Really it is this common window etching thing dealers try to upsell you on as shown here [1]. Something that costs them $20 probably but they charge you $800+ for. My wife didn't notice it when she called and completed the sale as they just mention it in a list of "tax, title, and transfer fees". This is extra sneaky as there are real title transfer fees that are quite cheap. So if you don't do the math on the fly and realize this is twice as much as the taxes, and most people wouldn't, then you are out of luck. They already did it.

They say they can't add this to the price on CarGurus, and that is only partially true. You can't add optional fees for services dealers try to upsell. The trick is this isn't optional. They do it already and bake it into the car prices knowing you have to pay it. So it is just a way to advertise a lower price, whereas another dealer who gives you an option is not able to lower the cost enough to show such a low price. In the end the price is isn't terrible, but it isn't honest. I won't do business there again and recommend others avoid it. **

      Inventory

Big City Cars is a used dealership. The company sells a range of used vehicles, but availability may vary depending on which models have been traded in recently. However, its inventory includes some of the following makes as of publishing:

      Big City Cars services

In addition to auto sales, Big City Cars also offers diagnostic checks and repairs.

Big City Cars return policy and guarantees

While Big City Cars doesn’t specify a return policy, many used car dealerships offer a limited return policy on used vehicles, also known as a "cooling-off period." This lets you return the car within a short period. Not all dealerships offer this kind of return policy, though, and those that do may have conditions.

Make sure to find out if your state has lemon laws, which provide certain protections for buyers of used vehicles. These laws vary by state and typically outline criteria for any remedies available to the buyer.

Big City Cars warranty options and providers

Big City Cars doesn’t mention any specific warranty coverage. As a general rule, most certified pre-owned cars come with roughly one year or 12,000 miles of additional bumper-to-bumper coverage from the manufacturer.

You can also work with an extended warranty company for additional coverage on a used car.

      Big City Cars financing options

Big City Cars offers dealer financing in the form of a loan. The company has an online application, which you can fill out before you visit the dealership.

You also have the option of working directly with a lender to secure a personal loan to finance your car purchase.
