I purchased an alternator at Advance Auto Parts it went bad. I took the car to them to get a free charging system check they said it was okay but the battery light kept coming on so I took it out of the car to have it bench checked by them. They claimed they don't have the adaptor to check it so I was. That is just wrong. They could not find me in their system even though I walk down the hill from my house had the paperwork. The attitude of the manager is poor as a auto mechanic and a retired parts store and 40+ years in retail. This is wrong. I know my piddling money doesn't mean much but I will be sure to go to O'Reilly Auto or AutoZone.

I went to buy brake pads, from the website and there was a rebate offer saying if I bought two rotors with them I would get a 40 dollar rebate. I was looking at the gold brake pads, so I bought the rotors as well for an extra 50 figuring after rebate it would only cost me 10 dollars. Well after I have the rotors and cannot return them they decline the rebate. Apparently it was for the platinum only pads. This was not said on the gold brake pads web page. So I'm out 50 dollars. No biggie. I mean I really didn't need the rotors but they are done now. However Advanced Auto Parts has lost another customer, between their counter staff and now this with the web base. I'm done with the company so, be careful when buying from them. This is not the first time I have had this happen. The other time the counter guy selling me the pads told me it was rebated only to find out it wasn't. Of course I don't sit around so the pads had been installed by then.

My only day off is Sunday. I have always supported Advance for my car needs. I get to the Davenport IA Advanced at 09:40 AM. I needed the battery checked and probably replaces. The one person in the store said he could not do it being the ONLY person in the store. I'd be best to come back afternoon. So I drove a block away to O'Rileys where one of the 3 employees tested my battery, sold and installed a new one for $125. Advanced lost a customer.

I purchased a new radiator on 7/31/2015 with what I was told had a 1-year warranty. The first one I purchased leaked before I even installed it. The second radiator lasted a few weeks. The same for the third radiator that all leaked in the same spot with no physical damage done to part. Tried to take the fourth radiator back leaking in exact same spot from the end cap which is plastic. Very bad design for something holding 200 degree water and fluid and said it was a limited warranty which is now only good for 90 days so I'm now out of luck.

I installed the first one. Two different mechanics installed the next two. If you are going to sell a product with a 1-year warranty then stand behind your product. It going to cost them a lot of business from a loyal customer of 20 years and the company I work for which has 7 locations over eastern NC which consist of around 200 vehicle. We self-maintain. I called toll free number and they said the district manager would call me within 24 hours. Never heard from the district manager. I hope a $150.00 radiator was worth the hundred thousand dollars you will miss out on from me and our company.

After horrible experience with store on Washington St. in Middletown CT and equally awful experience with store manager John the next day, I spoke to customer service at corporate office. Twice. Thrice. All representatives kept repeating "nothing I can do." "Corporate policy" the reason. This after a recording while waiting on hold long periods of time claiming customer service important. Wish I had checked this site first as the problem is apparently nationwide and even at corporate level.

Already overpaid so I hope the parts arrive. In a week supposedly even though overcharged for shipping, then the audacity to charge tax on the shipping too! No willingness to make this right, not even a dollar or a penny. Again Corporate Policy. Furthermore the last customer service person at corporate kept talking over me, claimed all companies have this many bad reviews and service complaints, all charge shipping, all do nothing. NOT TRUE!! They also refused to honor a price match from another store less than half mile away. The shipping I was overcharged for at Advance Auto will take a week. At best from what I read here. When I asked them to call me when parts arrive I was told they do not do this. More Corporate Policy. And Poor Customer Service.

Meanwhile ordered more parts from competing AutoZone right up the street on the same day, Friday. Wonderful store. Wonderful Sandy. Was told these parts would arrive on Tuesday and they would call me when they arrive. No shipping charge, much lower pricing and the very next day Saturday got a call from Sandy telling me the parts were already in!!

DO NOT BUY YOUR PARTS FROM ADVANCE AUTO!! Right up the street is wonderful service and value at AutoZone. They are holding my parts until Advance Auto Parts order arrives in a week if I am lucky. I advised my mechanic not to ever purchase parts for my cars from Advance Auto Parts. He told me he also feels he has no clout with them. From what I have read here nobody does. Be smart. Stay away from Advance Auto Parts!

The level of incompetence within the Advance Auto Parts organization is unfathomable. First, they don't even inspect the parts to ensure they aren't defective before they ship them to customers. Then when the customer receives the defective part there is an expectation that the customer is to pay for return shipping. After explaining that such an expectation is not only unreasonable but blatantly dishonest they finally concede to sent a prepaid return label. They send you a return label with a corrupted file that can't be printed attributing the problem to a computer issue with the customer.

When they finally realize that the prepaid return label is actually a corrupted file then they agree to have a UPS truck pick up the return. All the while they make the customer reorder the $140 part. They then don't add the email address of the customer to the order so the status of the order can be checked and then state they cannot add the email address. I will stop here because the incompetence continues on to infinitum. If you have nothing but time to deal with these dullards be my guest but I will no longer be doing business with these incompetent idiots.

When you buy any battery from Advance, you are under the impression that is covered under law, by warranty. Wrong. They found a way "legal" to deny warranties if you don't have the original receipt and you don't go to exactly the same store you bought it! Advance doesn't want to have a nationwide system (for example Autozone has one from 90s) and refuse any warranties without proof of purchase in same store. Doesn't matter if the battery is showing still under warranty from labels. This is cheating in my books and our dealership stopped using Advance few years ago.

I have built three hot rods, using Advance Parts, NO MORE. I purchased everything to do a complete brake job, rotors, calipers, bearings for my truck. Within a month, the right side gave out, and I had to have the truck towed home to repair it. They would only warranty the one wheel. Last week, the left side went out, same problem. Advance would only warranty the left side, NOT the right. The bearings are not good quality. I asked them to exchange all the bearing for better quality ones. They said NO. After spending over $13,000.00, they would not honor my request. After five years of buying exclusively from them. From this day on I WILL do my best to keep anyone in my hot rod club from spending a dollar with Advance. Ever...

My daughter needed a new battery for her car and she purchased one from Advanced Auto in Raleigh, NC. The price was inline, but no great deal except they had it and would "install" it for her. A female clerk took the battery and began the install which took a long time due to the fact that she was more concerned with collecting money from a parking lot mechanic that she had directed the replacement of store parts to someone and he was installing in the parking lot of Advance Auto. She collecting her share of the install fee.

In the meantime she worked on the battery intermittently and when finished she closed the hood and sent my daughter on her way. The next day the car failed and when we investigated found the battery clamp had fallen off the terminal. She was able to replace it and get her car started, but it continued to happen. When I investigated I discovered the Advance Auto lady had left the battery hold down clamp off and the battery was moving around freely in the car which caused the battery cable to be pulled off when the battery turned over.

We went back to the store and they were gracious enough to SELL me the clamp that they had lost and put it on. When I complained they pretty much ignored my issue and complaint and said I would have to pay for it. I did and I also promised to not return to the store and to write this review so that others will know that there other places to purchase auto parts and that others care enough about their customers to solve the problems that they had caused. If you need to buy from Advance Auto Parts I would suggest not expecting to get any sort of warranty or satisfaction from their poor service or any parts that do not meet your expectations. You will be disappointed like I am.

I am completely frustrated with Advance Auto Parts in Belleview. I took my Mitsubishi Eclipse into my mechanic for routine maintenance and they placed a Dayco timing belt on my car (which by the way has a 1 yr warranty). TWO weeks later the belt came apart and basically destroyed my engine. I am a home health nurse, so I take excellent care of my vehicle, hence the routine maintenance-- I need a vehicle to work so of course that's what you do to ensure you continue to have a job. It's not a fly by night job either, I've been there close to 9 1/2 years. Compound that now with the fact that my significant other is a realtor and has an ill brother who we go to 3-4 times a day to ensure he takes his medicine. We're now sharing a vehicle. I'm turning work down, he's turning down work. We have a hardship on our hands.

About a month after my mechanic has been calling the store practically daily getting absolutely nowhere with the management I decide I have been patient enough and call Advance Auto Parts Customer Service. I am told I need a reference number to see how far this claim is in the process. I called my mechanic who calls Advance Auto Store #9134 and he is told Brian who is handling it will not be in for several days, call back. When he calls back my mechanic is told they were supposed to put the claim in and they sent this very important information with a delivery driver- who never said a word- and there is no reference number. There is no claim.

My question is why? Why would you send pertinent information like that with a delivery driver, especially when my mechanic is calling you on the phone and WHY would you wait a month after the fact when someone calls you to get the actual reference # to finally say that. Then Lawrence from Advance Auto Parts states to me that Brian was supposed to put the claim in and when he tries to get in touch with Brian he is told he is doing interviews and can't come to the phone. Needless to say my mechanic fills out the claim info / estimate and faxes it to Jesse at Advance Auto parts. Then I speak to Travis today from claims who states Advance Auto wasn't supposed to do the claim regardless of what I was told, they haven't received the estimate, and he has no idea why Brian would wait so long to give the pertinent info to my mechanic. The kicker is they need the actual belt to be overnighted to Dayco, which is the first I've heard of it.

My mechanic still has the belt no problem there. And then on top of that I was told the process may take up to another 30 days, Advance Auto isn't responsible for the claim on my vehicle, Dayco has to pay them, and that's if they decide their belt is faulty. Did I mention no one would give me the regional manager or district managers number? Did I mention that Advance Auto tried to say my mechanic didn't buy the belt from them (my mechanic had the receipt still). Wow. I'm close to 5 or 6 weeks in now. Wondering if I will be eventually fired. Asking myself how much longer I can afford to make my bills with the loss of income. I just can't imagine that this is how people actually do business and I really can't say that I believe my car will ever be dealt with.

I worked three jobs to buy it (crazy right). I paid for it in full the day I bought it. It's a 2011. Now it's just sitting. I wonder will the brand new tires I bought before this dry rot before I ever get to drive it again.... So much for the American dream folks. I haven't even been offered a rental car while this whole debacle plays out. I even asked how Travis thought a lawyer would see this or how a judge would interpret from their stand point the absolute disregard for someone like me. He said they would furnish whatever attorney I had with their warranty policy in court. Good answer.

I have had a string of bad luck with parts purchased from Advance. I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima that my Son uses to attend college a couple hours away. In the past 2 years, I have replaced the Alternator, Starter (twice) and Rear Brake Calipers. All of these parts went bad. Calipers went bad immediately, though it took a month of losing brake fluid to figure out the calipers were leaking. The first starter went bad after only a year and the second one didn't last that long. Now the 3rd one is starting to act up and I assume it's a matter of time before it goes bad. The Alternator did last just under 2 years. In all of these cases, the car broke down at my Son's college town and each time the car had to be towed to a local service center.

This service center was good about getting the replacement parts swapped out with a local Car Quest, so I wasn't out anything for the parts as they all had lifetime warranties, but I was out the labor to have the parts swapped out. If I can only expect to get an average of 1-2 years out of Advance's parts, I will no longer purchase parts from them. I expressed my concern to the corporate office, but didn't feel like there was much concern from them.

OK, so in December 2008 I bought an "84-month" car battery for my 2005 Honda Accord. It failed in February, 2012 -- 39 months. It was longer than the 3-year "replacement" period, so they sold me a new 84-month battery on a pro-rated basis (like the warranty said). So now that one failed on November 24, 2015. Hmmm, that's exactly 84 months from the original purchase. So they say that I got my 84 months, no more warranty. I would have thought that the new battery would come with a new warranty, since I did pay quite a few bucks for it. So anyway, I got my 84 months. Only I paid 50% more than the price of an 84-month battery. I won't be shopping there anymore!

I wish I could give them ZERO stars: On October 21st my mother purchased a battery from Bill at the Carroll Island store in Maryland, ZIP code 21220. Let me rephrase, Bill sold my mother a practically dead (one working cell) battery. After purchasing this battery it was hit or miss on whether or not her car would start. She took it back to Bill numerous times and was told a plethora of excuses. It's the starter, it's a loose connection, it's the WEATHER (70 degrees mind you). So on Friday November 6, her car would not start at all. So she had it towed to her dealer where they tested it and found that she had been sold a useless, dead battery. My mother promptly called Bill and met him at his store where he quickly dismissed her saying "Sorry lady but you aren't getting anything back." He REFUSED to replace or refund my mother's money. He was extremely cocky, rude and arrogant and was acting like a despicable human being.

When I called to have a discussion with him because this is not right at all, he THREATENED me with calling the police and saying I was harassing him. This man knows he did wrong and took advantage of my (ill by the way) single mother. I've contacted corporate but am still waiting on a response before I take this to the newspapers and news stations. This man's behavior and total lack of customer service and compassion will NOT stand. I've posted this on many social media sites in my community and received an outpouring of responses from members of the community also saying they were mistreated by Bill. I cannot wait to hear from corporate on what the outcome will be. I'm sure they don't want to be known as a company who condones their managers taking advantage of ill single women.

(If I could have given 0 stars, I would have!) I had been having starter problems with my Jeep and was told that my battery charge was low when I was getting an oil change at Jiffy Lube. I had purchased a battery in December '13 from Advance Auto, and it had a 3-yr warranty. When I went back to Advance to get my battery tested, they said it was low, but that they would just charge it and that I had to drive it for 45 mins that day. No mention of replacing it at that time. So I figured OK, the battery must not be that bad then. But I kept having starter problems though, so my husband said he would take it to Pep Boys and have them test the starter and the alternator. Both of those tested fine, and they said, "it's your battery." So we had to go back to Advance (waste of our time!) and demand a battery - they gave us a hard time about it, saying our battery tested fine, and that they were not supposed to replace our battery. Why not?

Why would you sell us the 3-yr warranty and give us the runaround about it? So I'm supposed to have a completely DEAD battery before I can get a new one? I'm supposed to risk my and my children's lives on the interstates in this crazy city (Atlanta)?! At the time, they insisted that the battery was fine and they wanted to test my starter and alternator to make sure. We had just told them we had those things checked at Pep Boys, but I guess they didn't trust us and figured we were lying to them. Advance Auto - You have lost another customer. Thank you for your rude "service" and when you sell a warranty for 3-yrs, you're not supposed to give the customer any crap about it. If the battery tests low or isn't working for ANY REASON, you should replace it. I don't care what it is! You should stand by your word or don't offer warranties! Ridiculous.

My truck was in need of a fuel filter and I called the Advance Auto Parts that I could see from where I was broken down. The young man who answered the phone was quite helpful, although after we had determined the part I needed I asked could he deliver it? He asked his manager could he and the manager said NO. They only deliver to commercial accounts. I was across the street from one of their commercial customers and was willing to pay for the parts over the phone. The manager still said no. That's horrible customer service. Over the years I've spent a lot of money at Advance Auto Parts. NOT ANYMORE. I will gladly take my business to their competitors in the future.

I've spent the last 3 hours going up the chain of Advance Auto Parts Managers and Supervisor trying to ascertain why they can sell a retail customer a defective part and not be responsible for a labor claim of that part. Was told by all that their policy is to only refund or replace the part. Their policy does not allow labor claims for walk up customer. Was flat out told that if I had 5 of the same parts replace by a garage after I walked up and purchased them over the counter and all 5 were defective that their only liability would be to keep replacing the part or refund the funds for that part. I spoke with the store manager, warranty claims department and a couple more in the customer service department and was told the exact same by all. Was also told by all that they stand behind their parts.

If that statement is to believed then one would have to believe that if one of their parts were put on an automobile by a certified mechanic at a garage and it was defective and had to be replace, standing by their part would be to allow a labor claim for the labor cost of replacing the defective part they sold. Shouldn't matter if they delivered to the garage or the customer. Well that is not the case here. Wow they basically are saying to the consumer BUYER BEWARE, so buy at your own risk. If any part is defective and determined to be defective by a qualified mechanic you incur that cost of labor for a part we guarantee to be free from defect. What a joke of a business practice. With a policy like that why even waste money on a customer service department?

I could think of a more appropriate name to go in place of their motto: Join Our Winning Team! And we'll just leave it at that. I have to admit that I've run into some very good associates in the stores but that alone won't bring me back to Advance. Their warranty practices are suspect at best and have told me to take my business elsewhere. In closing when I purchase the water pump from Advance and paid my mechanic to install their pump I was believing I had received a non defective part from a supplier. Having stated that, will someone making the big bucks at Advance explain to me why that wasn't the case and why I should have to fork over double labor charges since you sold me the defective part.

So I tried returning the other one to AAP and the manager there was so rude, yelling that should not return my money because it was already used. It was used to begin with because it was opened when I bought it. That manager is so rude every time I go there. She refused to help customers resolve their problems. Decided no more emails so called today 3 months later. Very poor customer service. Pushed a bunch of buttons. Talked to the robot. Called back. Waited another 10-15 minutes on an international call. Got the poor shcmo who had to refer it upstairs. Said the parts came back. No explanation as to why no follow up.

Was provided another 1-800 number. No name provided. Said it was another call center. So here I am writing the worst review I have written in a long time. Would have been too easy to just send the parts express mail after the first two emails and kept me as a loyal customer. Hopefully the brake lines will come and then it is bye bye Advance Auto for good. Too bad really as I am not hard to please. Just expect customer service and reliable delivery. This supposedly great plan for rebates or perks is a big joke. I have spent $584.87 in your store since April 7 2015 and I was expecting these rebates to come in so I could use them for some other stuff I was getting. Well I finished my jobs this past weekend and still have not seen these so called perks until today. I got 1 20$ and 2 5$ coupons. However it is too late to use them when I really needed them and then to top it off I had one purchase over $300 and two purchases over $100 a piece so according to your rules I should have gotten five $20 coupons and one or two $5 coupons but no I did not. I also had a $50 rebate coming for purchasing the AC parts and when I just went online and registered for it it is a stupid advance gift card not the $50 rebate you led me to believe.

I have bought from your store for several years now and other than a few instances have been fairly pleased and I spend usually over $1000 per year there. I don't know what has changed but you need to look at how you are lying to your customers. And when I look at the coupons they expire in a short time. I just did all my maintenance on my vehicles and I will not be doing anything else before they expire so therefore I actually received NOTHING for spending almost $600 in your store in less than a month.

I am really disappointed in Advance because I know all the workers by name and they know me and my sons by name also. Just to let you know there is an O'reilly's just across the street and down one block and and that is probably where I will start spending my $1000 per year from now on. I earned those perks as you call them so they should not expire so quick, at least give them a year but 2 months is ridiculous. These kinds of games you like to call speed perks that you like to play on your customers really puts a bad taste in my mouth for advance auto parts. Now I really don't think I will be back.

Let's just say I'm very disappointed with the quality of your parts. In less than 1 year I have purchased 3 fuel pumps, 2 fuel tanks, an alternator, map sensor, throttle position sensor, dimmer switch, and throttle cable. I have had to replace every part because of failure, and not one covered under any kind of warranty. More than one of those failed on me while making a drive from Wisconsin to Texas leaving me stranded on the side of the road, which makes me so upset it's not even funny. I just want to say it's not easy replacing some of those parts once, let alone twice especially on the side of the interstate. I want you to know I will never step foot in one of your stores again and I feel you owe me money. Did I mention when the throttle position sensor failed it caused my truck to die in an intersection and I got rear-ended which made me have to pay deductibles for my vehicle and others. Extremely upset!

Nothing mention on item I was wanting except on sale 5.19. If that's the online price, should have that plainly stated on each item they sell so customer will know that if they are willing to wait about 5 days, pay for shipping, etc., they can get a little discount maybe. Depend on how much they charge for shipping, the store price may end up cheaper. That's my gripe. Maybe no deal online if you pay for shipping plus have to wait maybe 5 days to show up.

The customer service rep did not allow me to return them, even though they were within the 90 day return window and defective. Though somewhat frustrated, I decided to let it go and purchase new ones since the amount of money involved was not enormous. I picked out some new ones and bought them.

Once I got home, however, I discovered that someone had already opened one of the packages and stolen the part that fastens the blades onto the car. I went back to Advance Auto to exchange them, and ended up being charged $10 extra just to get a non-defective set of wipers - the service rep cancelled the promo deal that I originally bought them under (that was still in effect) and charged me the full price for the new one. One of the worst experiences I have ever had making any purchase - I will NEVER go back to Advance Auto. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

I have been going to Advance Auto for over a decade and have always been happy and gone back. I chose Advance for my parts because my friend from high school worked there. He left and since then, it's been a mess. The other day I purchased brakes from them and came home. I took the tire off, took off the old brakes, went to put the new ones on and they were the wrong ones. I clearly told the associate there the right info. I have done ordered parts many times before. When I called the store, they refused to deliver me the right brakes so I had to put the old ones back on. They were in very bad condition and it was dangerous but had no other ride and no choice. I felt bad for the guy when I got there. Everyone makes mistakes but the store should have done the right thing.

I also have been having a belt issue. I purchased a belt from Advance and it snapped a day later. I went back to get another one but they would not honor my warranty because I didn't have the broken belt. If your belt snaps when driving, I don't know how you would even have the belt to bring in. I have since purchased a belt from NAPA and have had no problems. My friend's car had a check engine light on so we went to Advance to check the code to see what needed to be repaired. The guy in the store was being a total a-hole to us and made us wait forever while he did nothing. He then looks at us and says, "Even if I read the code, I can't tell you what it means. We are not a repair shop." I told him, "That's fine, I could look it up on the internet." He keep stalling so we just left.

If they can't give me some direction at all from a service they provide, how can I buy the correct part? These are three incidents in a couple weeks that have pushed me away from a store that I've been going to for years and recommended....but no more. Some employees there are very helpful so it's not all. Maybe it's the store by me, I don't know, but from now on, I will go to NAPA. The belt was much cheaper there anyway. Probably should have went in the first place.

Returned to Advance Auto found same manager, explained this was a return visit. Was informed again store policy is to recharge battery.

I asked how many times and what purpose a warranty is for. Manager very rude and unhelpful. Other customers tried to intervene. Manager adamant about 'store policy' recommended battery recharge for 45 minutes again and that if problem recurs she will change the battery. After one week battery won't charge and car won't start. Returned to store, manager states store policy is to recharge battery. I left very angry and frustrated.

We wanted it price matched which was refused even though the Napa website CLEARLY STATES it is the IN STORE price. However because Napa was closed, the so-called parts guy could not verify it... (Guess the phone in my husband's hands with the price on the screen was not good enough, nor the internet on your own computers in store). We also planned to purchase 4 gallons of coolant, spark plugs, thermostat & several other items. We chose to do business with you all because you are in my neighborhood & now I will chose to drive 7 miles out of the way from now on. We also have a commercial account with one of your stores across town that I will now refuse to buy ANYTHING from that I spend approx $20k a month in parts out of. We also have a small at home business that we have spent thousands of dollars at this location for but I will never buy another thing from you, period.

The service has always been questionable but I will never return. We have had to look up our own parts, have been told you DO NOT CARRY things you do, that I can look up online plain as day. Get some real parts people in your store & maybe you would actually see an increase in volume & profits. Go ahead & ask ** or ** how much money I have spent with Advance in the last 4 years alone. This was the absolute last straw. The associates you have in this store could not care less if the customer is satisfied in any way, shape or form.

I can imagine how much uninformed people get screwed out of here. Just for instance... a lawn plug was requested in the least expensive form... It was given to my husband for $6; however you have one on the shelf for $1.19... which I ended up buying 12 from Napa instead, which they price matched with no problems. It is problem after problem. I don't expect anyone to contact me if the upper level service is anything like the store level. So I will not be surprised if I never hear back but you as a company should be ashamed at the way this store conducts themselves on a daily basis. I am certainly glad they are not my commercial provider any longer but your other commercial salesman will not be very happy that I am pulling all of my business that he just started to get back again.

On July 4th, I purchased the generator (TOU 5843219 for a Volks Beetle 1968) from Advance Auto Parts store #09185. The price of the generator was $88.99 plus core $14.00. On July 9th, I hired a professional mechanic to install the generator. In order to do this job, the engine of my Beetle had to be removed. When the job was completed, the mechanic and myself tested the car. Unfortunately, at that moment we realized the generator was defective; electricity was not being sent to the battery. I contacted the store immediately to inform them of the defective generator. Their first reaction was to put the fault on me indicating that I was not doing the job properly. The salesperson and his manager continue evading responsibility for their sale of defective products.

In my efforts to get a solution to my situation, I contacted the Customer Help Desk by e-mail. I exposed the situation to this office and I requested the replacement of the generator and reimbursement for my expenses in order for me to do the job again. I didn't get a prompt response so I called their offices directly. On a telephone conversation with Nicole, of their Customer Service, Virginia Office, I suggested that perhaps the company would take the responsibility to send my car to an auto mechanic shop at their expense to take care of the problem. She said the company sells auto parts to "do it yourself" people, therefore, she said if I paid a professional auto mechanic to the job, her company will not be able to do anything about it, per company policy. However, she said the only thing they will be able to do is to replace the generator, once I pay again the price of a new one, while I return to the store with the defective one.

I am an elderly person, very ill at this moment. I need my car to get me around. My car is not working. For sure I don't have another $500.00 for the job to be done again. At this point, I feel Advance Auto Parts is simply taking advantage of its customers, especially the elderly population. I appeal to the Consumer Affairs to investigate this matter in the hope these practices are stopped and that I can get some solution to my case. Thank you.

After purchasing over 100 bucks in brake parts from their site (online), I was promised a $50 voucher (Gift Card) to use on my next online purchase. A month later as promised, I got the $50 discount on my next order (seat covers) but had to return them because they didn't fit my truck. I must point out that there was nothing on the online order form that posted what year, make and model the seat covers would fit, just a listing for truck seat covers. Okay. They didn't fit so I carefully put them back in the package and returned them. Then I got no credit back. Yep, they literally ripped me off! No store credit, no gift card, no online credit, zip, zero, nada, nothing!

I called customer service who acknowledged that, "Yes, we see you returned the merchandise, but you can't have credit back because there is this clause in the fine print of the voucher discount that states, "Gift card has no cash value." What the ** does this matter? I'm not looking for cash here people. I just want store credit for my return. I again want to make this clear. This return was not a return of the original merchandise, this is a return of goods purchased with a voucher (gift card) that Advance Auto Parts offered to me for purchasing the 100 bucks of parts to begin with. No, I'm not making this up! They give you a gift card. You use it to buy seat covers that don't fit.

You return the merchandise in resalable condition. Then, too bad, no store credit, no account credit, no mailed gift card, nothing. I have gone round and around (and round again) with their online customer support. What a joke this experience is! I sent a letter to their CEO, Darren Jackson, expressing my sincere displeasure of his company's returned goods policy in May with no reply. Until I receive a full store credit for the cost of these seat covers, look out, world. I will yell from the rooftops at the top of my lungs! Do not do business with Advance Auto Parts stores.
