Experience tire trouble 1100 miles away from home. One lug nut would not come loose. Called AAA 4 hours later they still couldn't provide me with an ETA. I ask for management who gave me a time two hours away. Total 6 hours waiting. ETA came and gone no contact from AAA. I reach out to them. Their excuse the service company couldn't make it out by the eta. So why was it canceled out of the system. 10 years of having no problem with taking yearly payments but can't provided service paid for. Loss all confidence in this poorly ran bait and switch non service of a company. Run as far away as possible from these crooks.

The reason why most people are having horrible experiences with AAA is because 1. Most agents lack training/knowledge and don’t really care. 2. AAA pays 3rd party contractors so expect 3rd party service - simple.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst company to ever walk the earth. Had their service for 2 years. Used my membership for discounts on stuff and when I actually needed the roadside assistance portion; we were left to wait - each time - for no less than 2 hours. So, I decided to let the membership lapse and just not renew. Wrong. They used the card that I had previously used and charged me $407 for membership. Seeing the charges on my credit card statement; charges that I did not authorize; I called Triple A to get them reversed. Nice girl told me that she has to make a case and have the membership admin dept review my "case" to determine if I will get my money back.
They have to determine if I will get my money back for a service that I do not want and have not used. Wow. So irritated, I said fine and hung up. Over a month later, I look online at my credit card account and you guess it - they never reversed the charges. So again, I call. This rep told me that they don't do refunds after the date that they charge your card!!!! What???? Told me that there is no manager to talk to because they will tell me the same thing. No sympathy, no understanding, no care for the consumer. She gave me an address of: 1 River Place, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801; Attn: Membership Admin. I have to wirte a letter explaining why I want my money back, and they will decide fi they deem it necessary for me to get my money back.
I am blown away. Who does that???? You're unhappy with our service but we will take your money without your knowledge and make you chase us around to "maybe" get it back??!! Do not, I repeat, do not get this service!!! Worst customer service ever; do yourself a favor, get a roadside assistance through a locally owned or a dealership. You would have better luck. Just do not ever use Triple A. Ever.

Having been a customer of AAA for almost 20 years and almost never needing their service, imagine my amazement when, today, a dispatcher yelled at me for being in my place of work (which I checked off on the now-required text request for service). Exact words were: How do you expect the technician to help you if you're not at your vehicle. Continued to berate me to the point I was furious.
When I went out to show the technician where to drive to find my parked vehicle, I was angry and told the driver that I planned to report the dispatcher. He said "you don't have to take it out on me". He was absolutely correct. I apologized, said as much and showed him where to drive to find my vehicle. I told him that I had to walk through our large community center building to go to the parking lot. The driver left.
When I called them back, the same dispatcher said that since I told the driver she was rude to me, which she most certainly was, he refused service. When I contacted AAA, they did nothing at all. I asked to speak to a supervisor and, instead, was given an 'escalation specialist'. This person had no idea of how to handle customer service at all. Bye, Bye AAA.

I had a screw in my tire. My son made it home and I called AAA. 6 hrs went by and NO ONE CAME!! So I cancelled the call because I had to go out of town for a week. When I came back I called again. Waited 4hrs this time and NO ONE SHOWED AGAIN!!!! This time I called them to find out what the issue was. They said they no longer plug a tire. As a previous towing dispatcher for 10+ yrs I call BULL!!! That is a service call!!! Y'all just want more money to tow the car that doesn’t need towed. These are new tires and just needs a freaking plug. A $17 job. What am I paying for a premier membership for if no one can do their job and I’m doing it myself anyway! I was trained through AAA!!! THAT WAS A LEGIT SERVICE CALL!!! Why change it now? Useless and I will not be renewing my membership.

I have been AAA member for 30 yrs. Most years we never use their roadside assistance services. When we do it is almost always related to dead battery. I purchased a AAA Interstate battery in August of 2022. During a recent routine maintenance visit, the battery tested bad. I tried to call AAA this morning around 9:30 to ask about getting the battery replaced under the 3 yr warranty. It is impossible to speak with a human at AAA. Finally had to end up placing a roadside assistance call for battery service. I explained in the chat that I wanted to replace a AAA battery under warranty. The contractor assigned to the case called me en route to my home and asked if I needed a jump. I explained that I did not need a jump .. but wanted to replace my AAA battery under warranty. He told me that his company did not provide battery service and that I needed to reach back out to AAA.
I did reach back out to AAA and they again assigned the case to the same contractor. After then canceling the second attempt, I engaged in an extended chat with an agent who informed me that since we have moved from St Louis County to neighboring Jefferson County, there were no contractors that could provide battery service to my home. He 'thought' that 'maybe' a NAPA dealer would honor the warranty for a new Interstate battery. Calls to few NAPA dealers lead nowhere.
I finally had to drive the car from my home a few miles to the Gravois Bluff shopping center in St Louis County a few miles from my home. I then initiated another call for roadside assistance and waited in the Wal Mart parking lot for about 45 minutes while another contractor was dispatched. When the contractor arrived he confirmed the AAA battery tested bad and quickly replaced it with another battery under the warranty. While I have no complaints with the contractor who replaced the battery .. the path that I had to take for this to happen was ridiculous. Once the warranty on this battery runs out .. I will likely be buying batteries at Wal-Mart.

Typically people only give reviews when very dissatisfied. I am guilty of this. I have been a member of AAA for over 20 years and have called AAA maybe 10 times for some kind of assistance (mostly for flat tires or battery issues for my teenage drivers) and AAA roadside assistance was good. I can understand waiting by the road for an hour and perhaps up to 3 hours in a populated area. My recent experience was a nail in a tire and I was parked next to an air pump at a gas station with the nail exposed. A 10 minute fix to pull the nail and plug and I could of easily put air in my tire afterwards.
Made the initial request for help on the AAA app around 9:30AM. The app immediately said I would have assistance at 10:27AM - but got a phone call at 10:26AM saying someone is on their way. Called AAA at 11:15, with a reply that someone would be there by 11:45. At 11:58AM a person showed up and said I needed to be towed (?) so they called AAA and asked for a tow truck. The app showed they would be there at 1:27. Another call at 1:46 - reply that they are on their way. Called AAA at 2:23PM - said they would look into it and call me back.
At 2:51PM, AAA called to say someone was on their way but there was one person in front of me. Called AAA at 4:16, they said there were 4 people in front of me and it may be a while. I explained my situation and the person on the other end was very helpful (FINALLY) and they were able to get me priority. Got towed to a garage that took them longer to gather my info than to fix the flat. I was finally driving at 5:45PM and not happy with that all day I believed someone was on their way when no one was - keep in mind that each call to AAA had a 5-8 minute wait time before talking to a human, which is understandable - but each response was scripted and not helpful.

DO NOT SPEND A DOLLAR ON THIS COMPANY. Call your insurance co & use their roadside service instead. I have been waiting 8 hrs for AAA to show up. When the driver finally showed up he said they were slow all day & never got a call from dispatch. Called them every 2 hrs and got the same routine. "I'm so sorry for the delay I will expedite the call.." Of course that NEVER happened! When I call the repair shop he said, "You're not alone..This has been going on for 8 months now." He recommended I just call a tow truck driver directly..If I can stop one person from throwing away $120 it was worth my time writing this. DO NOT BUY AAA!

My vehicle currently insured through Kemper, registered and still had one license plate on front and I still have its original title. I also have premier AAA membership since 2020. Find another company to have insurance. Never had a claim, never had a speeding ticket nor missed a payment but they still raise their rate and once you cancel with them they send you a bill stating you owe more. Customer service hangs up on you. State that they're on a landline so their phone couldn't have static in them. Must be my line agents. Never call you back. I would have never wanted to have a claim because just trying to work with the customer services was bad. They even say to you, "Why are you calling if you're not going to be making a payment" but they start the conversation with "How may may I help you" but if you ask them a question they get very upset. And because you drive your car you pay even more money because they want to know the miles on your car every time you call and if you don't tell them they add what they think you drive and your rate goes up. Folks save your time and shop.

My daughter purchased AAA membership and used their towing services. A couple of weeks ago she called to upgrade her services. AAA told her that she has 2 accounts and will be investigated for fraud. That was on a Friday and they said by Monday they will call her back with their decision. All of this after she was asking how can she have two accounts when they have all of their info. And she also asked why would she pay for two accounts. No much coherent info was given. Representative kept using the fraud status. I’m writing the review because it was my card that was charged and we called together on speaker so I could understand why I was being charged. Still no one has called us back. I was flabbergasted to hear the rep. accusing my daughter of fraud. I’m glad that those conversations are recorded and will definitely call them since they haven’t bother to call us back.

I had to use AAA on back to back days. Let me start by saying the companies who responded to the roadside were fantastic- but the AAA system is an epic failure. The first time I waited for 2 hours before receiving a tire change. They didn’t have good record of my location, despite the fact I had taken coordinates as requested by the initial phone person. This was not a storm day, a clear afternoon in a little city. They also had trouble locating my membership so I had to look in my bank statements for the exact date I paid.
Unfortunately I had to use their services again the following day! Another tire change, completely different location - and even though I used their “shared location” feature this time….it was 3 hours before I received service! This was again on side of interstate. I called and would check and each time they would say it will be 45 minutes. Finally one dispatcher on the third call- almost 2/12 hours later said we haven’t found anyone yet… I called Walmart Tire Center in the area and asked someone there for a recommendation- the young man also gave good advice- you can find a towing company then request through AAA that you want that company. I did that and it was darkness when our help arrived.
Both instances I was assured they were going to expedite the matter, and considered being on the side of the freeway an unsafe condition. Both instances companies were unable to be found! Both instances I heard a variety of reasons: we were having difficulty locating you; we are trying to locate someone in the area; we have a new software system and things will be like this for the next 5-6 months. Don’t get me wrong, the people were great and trying but the system is broken. I thought hard what the problem might be….Too many fingers in the pot? Poor communication for sure….Don’t get me wrong the people individually on the phone were good, polite and trying to be helpful- and God bless the the people who are responding to the call. End conclusion: AAA is a circus right now. Be proactive when you call.

This's the second time I use the services and both times are horrible. I went on the app and asked for a tow, the app said the driver will be there in half an hour, after hours of waiting, no one showed up, I called AAA and the representative said another 90 minutes the driver would be there base on many things going on the drivers needs to pick up, I was waiting in the cold weather for another hour, no one showed up again, we called AAA again and the representative said no one can coming in few more hours, we have to call the police to get different tow companies and they coming within 20 minutes. The representatives keep lying like the dogs, never give out precisely time. If AAA don't have drivers I strongly suggest AAA should not lie to customers and keep people waiting in the horrific weather conditions, customers are paying membership and only call for services when needed, so we don't needed to get the lies from the representatives.

They should not have any stars period. My mother, aunt, and brother were coming in to town from another state to visit me in Michigan. They were 4 hours away from me and my mother's truck had a ABS Light appear. The truck would not move. My mother called AAA and they told her that her and my Dad's membership was canceled. My mother was confused because the bill is always paid for and they just received the monthly magazine. My aunt called since she has the classic membership. (I have the same membership). The first call said it would be a longer wait time than usual. When the rep came on the phone they asked the usual questions.
Once my aunt told them that they were stuck in Louisville the lady said, "Oh I need to transfer you to the Kentucky line." Once transferred it said main menu so my aunt had to start back over. Once a rep picked up the 2nd time, same procedure of questions and once again my aunt said, "We are stuck in Louisville" and the rep said, "Let me transfer you to the Kentucky Line." We were just transferred SMH. The 3rd and final attempt another rep came on the phone and my Aunt instantly said, "We are stuck in Louisville." Again, the rep said the same thing, "Let me transfer you to the Kentucky Line". My aunt said, "We were given the run around" and the rep reassured that she will transfer them to the proper state and she will stay on the line. As soon as the dial tone came up a recorded message said, "We are currently closed." LOL. You mean to tell me that a 24-hour so-called service is closed.
This company is indeed, "Absent, Aggravating, Abandoners (AAA)". Also, the website to request for assistance was malfunctioning. Looks like the IT team needs to work on the issues on their end. Thankfully, my family called a tow truck close by and received service. AAA needs to do right or they will get left (customers leaving).

My experience is that in most cases their customer service including their agents lack knowledge in answering questions. I wasted my time going to one of their local offices to have some questions answered on my renewal policy. They could not answer one question correctly in regard to coverages and how the premiums are determined. My wife and I are retired and have clean driving records with the exception of a not at fault accident I had when insured with another carrier under 2 years ago. The insurance company mistakenly recorded the accident as at fault but later changed it to not at fault. AAA rated my auto premium showing the at fault accident.
When I sent them correspondence from the prior companies claims department showing it was change to not at fault they changed their rating to not at fault. Then they told me the bad news that the premium is going up $300 midterm and carried over into the renewal policy increasing the premium close to $900. So what they are saying is that a not at fault accident increase the risk over an at fault accident. I am a retired property and casualty agent for 52 years also owning my own agency. I have never heard of anything like this where a company charges for one not at fault accident but not for an at fault accident especially when it was not their company that paid the $2,000 claim. Something is very wrong and I can't believe the Department of Insurance allows this practice.

I called triple AAA because I'm out of town for the holidays and was ready to hit the road to head home, but my car wouldn't start this morning so upon using my app to request assistance I shortly thereafter received a call from the New Jersey triple AAA rep. SHE was very rude mind you I'm standing outside in the freezing cold thinking that the service I pay for would be readily available. But to no avail the rude rep advised me that I would not get a jump or a tow for 2 hours I then asked her what am I paying triple AAA for when you advertise it's 24 hours roadside assistance. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THAT SHE HUNG UP ON ME.
This is the second incident with triple AAA. The first was when a tow guy came about a 2 weeks prior to jump start my car with a dead jumper box and did not attempt to jump it any other way and left. (Yes I purchased a new battery since then, but I am now believing something is draining the battery) So my plan was to get back home and drop my car off to a shop for repair. But to no avail I'm still waiting on my service call and it's been 2 hours and no one has arrived yet!!!! Horrible, horrible, horrible service. Triple AAA you have really disappointed me. I really held this company at a high standard.. They have failed tremendously!!!!

Lately, friends and family used the service and we all complain about the same thing. The operators are nice but it's only so much they can do based on the resources provided by the company. I will not renew my membership as I will find other resources because why pay a premium for sub par service. I rather roll the dice with my insurance company than to pay hard earned money. Stay away.... from AAA.

I've had AAA for over 15 years and have not had any issue with them until I actually was rear-ended and it's been downhill ever since. I was rear-ended on the freeway in May this year. I submitted a claim right away even though my car had no cosmetic damage. My neck started to hurt so decided to submit a claim just in case it got worse. Over the weekend my neck and back got worse so I sought medical treatment. I ended up in physical therapy and submitted my documents (albeit after they reminded me to send them in). I mailed my documents and have yet to hear back after I submitted them months ago. My car ended up hemorrhaging oil a couple days after the accident.
AAA refused to help pay for my vehicle because they said that the accident couldn't have caused front damage even though common sense would say that I was hit and the force could have knocked things loose. Anyway the worst part of that whole experience was that the claims guy acted so aloof and I had to speak to the other person's insurance and try to handle it myself. Awful experience but I just tried to move on. Well, this month I got an email and letter stating that they were going to cancel my insurance because I owe over $700 due to non-payment since May. I had my account enrolled in autopay and it showed a $0 balance due every month I checked. I thought maybe they were giving me a break because of the accident or that since it had not resolved maybe they paused. NOPE!
I called and they said that their system scheduled the payments but never drafted them. So now I have to pay double monthly payments until the end of my policy next year. I cannot afford to pay them off in one payment so I'm stuck until March. But as soon as I can I will be cancelling my insurance through AAA. I will never recommend them to anyone again.

We’ve been roadside assistance customers since 2016 and have requested 3 tows in that time - 1 actually showed (in Illinois) and 2 were no-shows (Orlando). My son was stranded on the side of the road today for over 3 hours with promises of “we’ll be there in 20 minutes” or “we’ll be there within the hour” over and over. We finally had to call a tow service ourselves and pay out of pocket! $135 later and the only response we received from AAA was a request for a review - so here it is, this service is a waste of money and we will be canceling along with sending a receipt for the paid tow.

November 17, 2023 our car broke down at Oak Brook, Illinois and we parked it at Giordano pizzeria by the 22nd St. My daughter called Chipotle around 5 PM and were promised that they would get there in an hour or less as stated in their promise with their brochure. We kept calling them but they never got to us. We tried calling them several times but every time we call they hang up on us. And 11:00 PM I called and the lady talk to me and she said she’s going to talk to the manager.
I don’t know who the manager is, but he was rude and he said they never promised a specific time that they would get to the site and to our car they say they would get there when they get there. So I asked him, "So you mean to say that you can get there in about 24 hours or 48 hours or two days from now and my car will no longer be there and it will be towed because it’s in a restaurant facility parking lot?" And he said, "Yes we didn’t promise specific time as to when we get to your car." That is very disgusting question in their brochure they promised they would get to the car to be towed in an hour or two or less not six hours and that seven hours next 24 hours.
This is a very unreliable company and they are liars and they have no respect for people, I have been a member of AAA often on for at least 10 years now but I realized that they are very unreliable. I would never ever be a member of chipotle again. I called Allstate and in a few minutes they sent a tow truck to pick up my car at Oakbrook. What state is way better than Triple A. AWFUL. Apparently AAA has forgotten about the death of poor Melissa ** who, in 1999, rather than waiting the 90 minutes that it took AAA to arrive on Cape Cod, accepted a ride from a man who ** her and then stabbed her to death. Tonight AAA never showed up. No extenuating weather conditions. I was told that they'd be to me in 5 minutes-1 hour but that never happened. A second call from me resulted in putting me on hold for 10 minutes. Truck driver finally called and said he'd be there in 10-15 minutes, but by then I had left. Didn't really feel like waiting outside.
AAA did call about an hour later to offer me two options, but the call dropped and they never called back. Did not want to go through the same nonsense for a third time in order to reach someone making false promises. Members have the right to receive services that they have paid for. It's a disgrace that AAA offers "services" that don't necessarily show up in the stated time frame. This has happened to me in the past as well so I will never use AAA again and suggest the same to you.

AFTER placing their battery tester on the battery showing me that my cranking amps are too low to change the battery.
I called customer service to cancel my membership only to get told that I can't cancel due to my membership being with my phone service provider. Mind you I had to call their company to establish a membership so it could be connected to my provider. This has been an horrible experience. When my car broke down on Saturday due to me needing a battery. I had my kids with me and the tow truck driver took 3 hours to come. He passed us four times going back and foward...smh. Once home I called for assistance again as the tow truck driver advised for a battery and was denied a battery because the technician didn't want to sell a battery if I hadn't had the car looked at by a mechanic to ensure it was my battery.
Now I'm stuck at home LATE FOR WORK and can't drop my kids off to school BECAUSE I NEED A BATTERY. I am having to call Wal-Mart to have a battery delivered. I don't understand the purpose of their services if the services are provided at the UNCERTIFIED technician's discretion. I've NEVER had to beg someone to spend MY MONEY with them. They provide POOR services and is VERY inconvenient!

I just received a “Non-Renewal” notice from AAA. Apparently if you use the service you’ve paid for they don’t want your business, only membership fees. My (late) husband & I have been Premier members since 2010. There have been several years we have had a tow, but when you live on an island and only rarely travel 20 miles away from your home, our tows have been few and short. In fact from 2019 to 2023 we never used the service, just paid the fees. After my husband's passing I began travel in our RV in January 2023. I purchased RV Roadside Assistance prior to departure. In April 2023 I required tow off a low spot on street in NM. The removal process took less than 15 minutes (after truck arrived) for a total cost of $1,087. Of which AAA only paid $500, I paid the balance of $587. Disappointing, but It was expensive, and nothing to be done but pay it.
Now 5 moths later, after 14 years of customer loyalty, they said I used their service a “disproportionate” amount. Really…? Once in 4 years? Prior to that I can count on one hand times we’ve used the service. My membership fees for my husband, myself, and my son for years (!) and now the RV, MORE than covered their cost of that one tow, of which they only paid a portion. When I called the 800# provided I was told it was final and there was nothing to be done. Avoid AAA. Give your loyalty to a better provider. It’s insulting and infuriating that my AAA card says “Loyal Member since 2010”. Lot of good loyalty does with this miserable company.

However, the last few years it has gone down terribly. It is better to just call a tow truck and get it done by a professional than wait for hours and hours and then watch your ticket get cancelled because it took so long. Their Rapid response is not "Rapid" at all....unless 3 hours is considered rapid. I could have called any tow company and been done within the hour. Here I am once again waiting for hours for a simple flat tire repair when I could have just called my friend or my local tire store to come do it.
I choose not to because I am paying for AAA.....for the last time. Also, it is even way worse when you travel...the local companies hate contracting to AAA because it is so hard to get their money for the work performed. AAA in roadside assistance is just a middleman hoping you don't use them. Their other services ....like travel and trip books have lived their life and technology has replaced all of that. And any and all insurance is better than AAA insurance...I mean come on 2 phone calls and you can beat their rates with almost anyone. And customer service...there is no customer service anymore. Used to be when you called they acted like they liked you and wanted to help. Now, all you get is someone wanting to end the call quickly and be done with you....no follow up at all. AAA did not act corporate before, and now they are no better than the roadside assist packages pushed by every car dealership everywhere.

I had called twice to check on the status. Both times the calls dropped. No one could tell me anything. I had to keep calling back and was kept on hold. So, I had to call back again and again. The different representatives would ask the same questions over and over.
Then I was told that it would be an additional ninety minutes to two hours!! They kept saying they had many calls that night and it's possible that the drivers declined or cancelled the call. They were lying. I received AAA as a gift till the end of the year. However, I will never use them again. NEVER! I have regular Roadside Assistance with Geico. I called them and they were there in ten minutes of being dispatched. That's right, TEN MINUTES! I should have called Geico initially but chose AAA to avoid using up all my Geico towing privileges.
The driver told me that many towing companies do not want to do business with AAA because they will fight them on reimbursements. So, AAA keeps trying to get a driver at different tow companies that will take the request. They won't even tell you the name of the towing company or their phone number. Geico gives all that information to the customer. Meanwhile, AAA customers gets lied to about what's really going on. They seriously put me under a lot of stress. I am sure that there was never a tow truck coming. They left me stranded. I would have probably been forced to sleep in my car all night if AAA was the only RA I had. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the recent experience I had with your company's dispatch and car transfer service. I believe it is crucial to address these issues, as they greatly affected my overall satisfaction with your services. Firstly, the dispatch process was nothing short of a prolonged and dissatisfaction I encountered. It took an unreasonably long time to connect with a dispatcher, and when I finally did, the communication was far from satisfactory. The time frame to have my vehicle dispatched took longer than what was promised, which led to a frustrating and stressful situation. This caused a number of factors that interfered with my work schedule.
Secondly, the promised timing for car transfer was significantly longer than what was mentioned at the outset. I was assured that the transfer would take no more than an hour and a half, but in reality, it took nearly 3 hours, causing substantial inconvenience and delays to my daily work regimen. This experience not only inconvenienced me but also resulted in a waste of time and a great deal of stress. As a loyal customer of Triple A Company, I expected a much higher level of service and professionalism. I hope to see a prompt resolution and improved service quality in my future interactions with your company.

This happened to me yesterday -- My RV would not start. Controls seemed to be "frozen" in the middle of the night after I got out to go to the restroom and apparently triggered a security response. The noise did stop when I told it to reset. But the steering wheel remained locked (no even a jiggle allowed), and the van would not start. I was always convinced that all I needed was to know how to reset it. The owner's manual had NOTHING in it on the subject.
1. Miserably useless website. Kept throwing me into a horrible loop and given that my cell service was bad, having to chain through multiple layers of menu resulted in about 4-5 calls for every one that got through to a human. Nasty. 2. AAA refused to do anything other than contact a towing company. 3. Towing company then needed to trailer the van given that it was "frozen" -- 4. Found out that they were towing it to someone who would not know what to do.
5. I called a Ford dealer, then back into the AAA phone mess, changed the towing destination to the dealer (who could only promise results in 2 days) -- this is me in the middle of long-distance travel. 6. Campground suggested calling several independent fix-it companies, one of whom suggested seeing if a campground host might recognize the issue and at least help me reduce the time. 7. The campground host DID recognize the problem and it took him about 10 minutes to get the van to reset. GEEZ --.
8. 4 hours after I made the call to AAA, I was able to get back on the road. I called (again) and yes, they did have an easy way to cancel the service call -- I cancelled it. 9. Another hour later, the tow company called me to tell me that they had not yet found someone to tow the van. So AAA never bothered to let them know about the cancellation. To me, this was worse than incompetent.

I was still waiting for three hours looking and waiting and waiting. I was almost in tears. I called back customer service. They told me the tow truck got redirected. I was so upset. My husband came and somehow got my car started. Triple AAA had no intentions of giving me a tow. I am so sick of their TV commercials. You can't trust this company. They always say, "We will be there any place and any time." They are so very wrong to keep repeating this. I will definitely find someone else next time. Please don't become a member. You will be disappointed.

I have paid for AAA premium membership for several years and luckily never needed it. The day came when I finally needed it for a simple 5 mile tow to a shop after my steering went out. After 24 hours of being stranded on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, I am still being told to keep waiting with my vehicle and help is on the way. False lip service from customer service, no communication from AAA’s wrecker/tow subcontractor, no refund for very poor service, tons of AAA junk mail, and they couldn’t deliver service on the 1 most important thing that I relied on them for (no roadside assistance at all!). What a crock from a bunch of greedy and incompetent hacks.

Do not sign up with AAA. Worst customer service and response time. I have been a member for 10 years and first time calling for a tow. Tried to use the app, they said I used all of my tows, but have not used any. Was on the phone for 25 mins to set up a tow. They said someone would call with an update shortly. 2 hours later I received an automated call saying they are busy and I will receive a call when someone is available. It has been over 3 hours and I am still waiting for an update. It will be cheaper and quicker to cancel membership and just save that money to pay for a tow out of pocket.

We had AAA for over 15 years and were loyal to them. Because we used our roadside assistance towing that was allotted for us, they canceled our policy without explanation. Our conclusion is although we paid for the service they may have thought we weren’t going to use our allotted tows and canceled us. They were not loyal to us but we were very loyal to them and stayed with them for many years. Don't waste your money. Choose another auto association.

Until this episode, I had total faith in AAA. I’m a senior citizen who spends a lot of time on the road alone. I’ve felt confident in my travels because of my AAA membership. Recently, I hit an object on a dark road that left my car undriveable. I called AAA. They did not show up all night. I called several times. Throughout the night, up until after 3:00 AM, I was put on hold and given several different arrival times. The last agent with whom I spoke told me she had no explanation as to why. I was assisted after I called again the next morning. Anything could’ve happened! I’ve lost my trust in AAA and hope no one else has to experience this degree of anxiety. I’m disgusted with and disappointed in AAA!

I came home from work to meet the tow truck. I then received 3 texts asking me to rate the service that was provided. I called AAA to find out what was going on. I was told I did not a record for a tow today. The call center person was not at all professional or empathetic. I was told I can’t call for a tow until the day I need it. I had to call the repair shop and they will come and get my truck.
This is the 2nd time AAA has screwed up and not followed through. My kids are on this account. I cannot have my daughter stranded somewhere only to have AAA fail to provide the service I’m paying for. This is not acceptable. We will be looking for another service provider. AAA left me stranded by the roadside on the FL Turnpike from 6 PM to midnight three years ago. And when I wrote to them reporting the incident, they sounded very casual, as if that was really no big deal, and that the only thing they could do for me was to credit the roadside service (not the $$$ I paid, just that "service") to my account. They are a horrible, antiquate company and have no regard for customer service.

I've been a member of AAA for about 3-4 years. Sadly The membership was canceled with a "non-renewal" that I was not even aware of. They would not give me a reason of why it was cancelled. All they said is that they reserve the right to terminate at any given time. The service was very downgraded over the years. It used to be good. You call them when there was something wrong if you need it a tow, a tire repair, battery charge. They would show up around 30 minutes later maybe an hour. Nowadays it takes them 2-3 hours. I didn't really complain since at the end of the day I still need it the service and I had to wait a long time. I was very polite and friendly with the people that show up to do my service.
So my problem would not be with the employees, but with the actual corporate/company since they just decided to not renew my services. And again I was not aware of this. We were in need of their services and when we call them they just say that our membership was not active. I check on the app and in fact it was expired and it said that my billing was on automatic payments so I thought it was a mistake. But after being on hold for about half an hour I get a hold of someone that says my membership was not going to renew and the decision was final. That I should be looking for another company to get roadside assistance services. I WOULD HAVE. IF I WOULD'VE BEEN AWARE OF THIS.
I used to recommend this company to everyone, despite the fact that the service has been worsening, but it was still a good deal. Anyways, I would not be recommending it any longer. It's really frustrating when you pay for services and all of a sudden you are no longer welcome to use those services. Because of reason that they don't even know. They never shared 1 single reason of why it was canceled. I'm pretty sure that if they keep going this way at some point they are just going out of business. I don't have to do anything, since they are the ones doing it on their own.
I would suggest you find a different company that really appreciates your business, you could probably find something local instead of a company like AAA which would rather spend millions on advertising something that they never provide, so they can scam you for your money, and when you decide to use their services they just no longer like you and decide to kick you out. Be better than that. Do yourself a favor and find another company for roadside assistance.

We have been members of AAA for quite a few years. No more! What kind of company has a "no refund" policy if you request cancelation? STAY AWAY FROM THIS ORGANIZATION. Perhaps it used to be helpful for motorists, but there are many more options today. Last year I called to cancel the automatic renewal of membership after seeing it on my cc statement. The customer service person indicated "you are past the window of canceling the policy", without any options for pro-rating cancelation, etc.. Shady practices. I decided to keep the coverage for a year, but told them to remove the automatic renewal from my account. What did I find on this year's cc statement? Another $177 charge for their membership.
Called customer service again, "you are past the window of cancelation"; I explained I requested removal from auto-renewal last year and the charge was made in the past four weeks. The customer service person was rude and snippy. "There is nothing we can do - contact your credit card company to reverse the charges - our policy states we do not refund auto-renewal charges". In addition to this irritating situation, they are constantly sending ridiculous promotional material in the mail for insurances, etc.. What a WASTE OF MONEY for the past 10+ years, for a service we never used, and for rude unhelpful customer service. SAVE YOUR MONEY TO PAY FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE YOURSELF - local towing companies respond quickly. Police officers will get you back in your vehicle for free if you lock your keys in your car.

At 7:22pm I called AAA back for more information on my service person because my phone battery was on a low percentage and I didn't want the service person to cancel the request. AAA is a ripoff. Used them once and the pick up driver kept key to vehicle and when I attempted to retrieve the key the young lady giggled and said no way to get in touch with the pick up driver... Would think they had a previous days dispatch somewhere! Yesterday, called and went thru the steps to initiate a tow truck. 7 times I used their 'quickest' method to initiate with nooo results. My wi-fi was on and after walking home to insure wi-fi, same results. Later that day I was smart enough to keep hitting zero until a live person answered. He dispatched pick up. At 11:38 pm the driver calls, I said, "at this time of night?" His response was, "Unless you want to wait until morning." I did. This morning I call him back, he shows no record of a pick up order as it is a 'new day' and he doesn't come on until 1 pm!!!!
I got in touch with AAA to cancel my membership and 'since it is only two months into renewal, we CANNOT refund but we will flag for noon-renewal'. Really? If you're losing business it would seem like a business would want to HELP their customers instead of what I consider stealing as they will not issue a refund... Absolute joke of an organization. Thank God I didn't pursue insurance with these 'jack-legs'.

Apparently the tow that originally accepted the job cancelled an hour after accepting it. Did AAA let me know this? No. They had me go and meet a service call that was cancelled hours earlier.
To add insult to injury, the "customer service" representative I spoke to at that time apparently never reordered the service call as I had to do this myself the next morning. Imagine being stranded in the middle of winter and waiting 22 hours for roadside assistance. You would be dead, along with your phone. The last time I spoke to a person, the call was over in 5 minutes and a tow-truck called me 3 minutes later to tell me they were in the area looking for my car. With this text link, I had to fill out a form on my phone, describing where my car was, with the only options being interstate; highway; parking garage; or shopping center. They said where to place my key and to leave my car there and they'd pick it up in about 15-20 minutes and I'd get a call with an update the next day. At 21:30 I received a call from the tow company with AAA, saying they had JUST been dispatched to my location (an hour after I called AAA), from the far side of Madison, and that their ETA was about 23:45 (2 hours 15 minutes).
I told them I called a different tow company and their ETA was 15 minutes, and to cancel my AAA request. Not to mention that AAA said their tow-trucks only have 2 seats and that I would need to find my own ride home. If I had been in the middle of nowhere, out of state, with no contacts in the area, and my car is my only means of transportation, how does AAA expect someone to just "get a ride"?
My mom had a flat tire last winter, when the temperatures were -24F (without wind chill), and thankfully had a full tank of gas to keep her car warm while she waited. Her empty gas light was on by the time the tow-truck arrived to repair/fill her tire. If her gas tank hadn't been full, she could have died because of AAA's wait times. AAA used to be very quick, relatively pain free, and efficient. Now, it's tedious, long waits, and lets the customer feel like they aren't a priority in the company. I will be canceling my subscription. This is ridiculous.

The service couldn’t be worse. My daughter & niece (both 18) were stranded in a parking garage at 11:00pm. AAA kept notifying them that they were coming, but did not arrive until nearly 2:00am, only to have brought a drunk tow truck driver who didn’t have the right truck to actually tow the car. By then, I came out there (a 45 minute drive!), trying to escort their car, by driving behind them. They broke down on the freeway. Now I had to call AAA again. The tow truck driver came out, but was a total jerk. I just figured that was an isolated experience, but it wasn’t.
Fast forward to today, I’ve had yet another horrible experience again, this time with a tire. I called them, trying to rectify the situation, to no avail. Back & forth for 3 hours. The tow company, & AAA both blamed one another, no one took responsibility. Neither side was professional. I used to stand by AAA for over 20 years, but now I’m canceling our memberships. Their once outstanding customer service & assistance is gone. Please don’t waste your money!

A policy holder with AAA hit my car, and since then I have had to jump through 100 hoops trying to get ahold of them. Not once did Robin ** ever call me back, and as kind as I was with my voicemails and calls - she seemed very irritated when she did finally answer after days of calling and leaving messages. She also hung up on me twice, maybe she thought our call was over, but she did not even give me a chance to ask my last questions - as soon as I said thank you for one thing, she hung up on me - twice. I would say she is horrible and should be fired, but from all else that I've read about this company - maybe that is their criteria!
They tried to extremely low ball me for my injury settlement, and did not send me enough money to cover the rental for my vehicle while it was being repaired due to one of their policy holders crashing into my car. She got annoyed when I (very kindly and politely, might I add) request that they give me enough to cover the costs. My car is a Hyundai Elantra 2023 sedan, and the rental they would cover is an old Nissan. Also, I have to pay the deposit for it, even though I am not at fault for this accident - I keep having to come out of pocket for all the running around and this is very stressful and time consuming on my end.
I understand they may be short staffed, as she stated she has 19 other people to call. At least she is calling them! She never called me back once. It's been 11 days since the incident and she nor her supervisor have ever returned a call to me. It's very important to know I am not some rude person who was deserving of being ignored. I am a student who has enough going on and understand people need empathy and kindness, I was so kind and well mannered with my voicemails to them requesting call backs and help.
I have heard stories about insurance companies being "evil" and I never had any reason to believe those stories until now. In my experience with AAA, it's true. They are horrible. Lucky for me, I have Geico! Maybe if you crash into other's cars often, AAA might be a good fit for you as they don't want to help the parties who are not at fault AT ALL. Horrible company. I pray for your souls, as the evilness inside of you AAA employees will not go unpunished in this life.

At this point I’ve been waiting nearly 5 hours, and it’s 1am. Same driver, same truck hooked it up and brought it to my mechanic. So I called AAA to report this to which they said it was a work van and nothing could be done.
Months later I had received a email stating my membership would be coming up soon, so I called them to say I wasn't renewing, they asked why, I told them what had happened, they said the van was totally cover and to request a refund. I filled out all required paperwork only to get a response 3 weeks later to tell me too much time had passed since the towing. A week and a half ago, I reached out to AAA roadside service for a battery test/recharge/possible purchase on a vehicle that had started. This was something that has happened before, they came and tested the battery, offered to sell me a new one, and install it on site, and it went smoothly. However, this time, it went differently. The technician informed me that he can sell me a battery and install it for $190 after testing it, per usual and this is what I was expecting it to do. He jumped my battery, and read the test. He informed me the battery had a low charge, and that I needed to let it run OR go to a mechanic for it to be charged. He informed me everything else was fine, and left without giving me a chance to buy a battery. I then took it to a mechanic, and they discovered the battery was dead. Changed the battery, and charged me a total of $335.
Considering all I wanted was to pay the $190 for the battery sold by the AAA tech, and his failure to do so, I had hoped I could get reimbursed the difference. Had he sold me the battery as I expected, I wouldn't have been out the extra $145. I sent the reimbursement request with this information, and received a call back from a woman, who's name I'll leave off of here, explaining that they don't do reimbursement for that because I don't have a AAA battery. I explained the situation and she reiterated the same thing, and told me that all he could have done is put in a new battery, but I'd still have to pay for it. I explained to her that this is what I wanted to do, and reiterated that he left without giving me the chance to buy it.
She informed me that his test came back inconclusive, and that he was only able to determine that the battery had a low charge. This means he could not conclude if the battery was dead, he could have only given me a AAA battery "but you would have to pay for it", which she said, about 5 times during our call. And I reiterated, 5 times, that I was aware of that, and that I WANTED to purchase the battery from him. I also explained that he provided none of the details she offered, and that he told me "something is draining the battery, but everything else is fine, you should run it for an hour, or go have it recharged. You're all set". I explained that his lack of communication, and his lack of battery sale cost me $145 extra, when, had he done his job, he would have solid me the battery for $190.
Considering her constantly informing me that I would have had to pay for the battery regardless, and my constant reiteration that this is what I wanted, but he didn't offer it to me, I got the impression that she was not listening, and thought I wanted a full reimbursement. I didn't. I wanted a differential reimbursement for the extra money I had to pay due to the technician not doing his job, not communicating, and not selling me the battery he was supposed to sell me.

I have had AAA for three years. As far as towing goes they do alright, the rest of it is a joke. They replaced my battery in my 2015 Dodge Journey. I got the one with a three year replacement warranty. If you are familiar with the Dodge Journey you know that you have to remove the right front tire to replace the battery, I know, go figure. About 14 months later the battery goes out on me, and also if you are familiar with this wonderful car you know it will not run with a dead battery, even if you jump it.
With that said I decided to remove the battery myself, as the AAA technician last time said he could not do it. I figured that they could just bring me the replacement battery. Once they finally answered the phone I was informed that first off, they do not offer battery service to my location which is a town of 80,000 people no less. I was then informed that removing the battery voids the warranty. Now living in Arizona I have had to replace countless batteries and many of them were replaced via warranty, this is the first time I was ever told they will not honor the warranty because I removed the battery. They told me it would have been better for them to tow it 50 miles to the shop, wait for two days till they can replace it, and then have me drive 50 miles to go and pick it up again. Happy to report that good customer service and common sense is alive and well in the USA. Needless to say I will be cancelling my AAA membership ASAP. What a joke.

I asked him to check that the battery in the back was well connected because it was relatively new and didn’t expect it to die just because I didn’t use the car for 2 days. He checked it, said everything was fine. He got in his car, I got in my Prius but at that point the car had stopped again because when you start it, if you don’t drive it soon after, it just stops on you. In normal circumstances, it gets back on just fine, but mine had no battery!! I couldn’t drive the car an inch. It wouldn’t go to “drive”! So I quickly got out of the car and tried to stop the technician, but he took off. Not even sure he even saw me.
Then I requested another service. They told me the driver would be there around 11:33. An hour later, nothing, I was waiting on the street, in the drizzle, no update, nothing! I had to call yet again only to find out the second request had been canceled by the technician without letting me know or providing another one only because I told the first technician to stay away from me as I had tested positive for covid 4 days prior. Not taking any chances, I requested a tow to our mechanic. She set that up and we soon received a from the local contractor who stated that she was sending a tow out, but that the car might take 3 days to get to the repair shop. She stated the the car would be stored in a secure facility. When I asked why 3 days, she stated that towing a vehicle 40 miles is considered a long tow. I objected and said my wife and I can't be without a vehicle that long and she said, "Sorry, but it is what it is."
I called AAA to cancel the tow and see about getting my battery replaced and if that didn't work, I would request the tow and wait the 3 days. The AAA rep. stated that I would be charged storage fees from the towing company..? I said what? How am I being up charged additional costs when I'm requesting the service I have been paying for since 2016? I requested the battery to be replaced. The same tow company does the battery replacements. I received a call from the tow company who stated that she was sending someone out to replace my battery, she also confirmed that my AAA battery is still under warranty.
The repair person showed up and she said, "I'm here to jump your car" and I said no, "You are to replace the battery under warranty." She replied "Sorry, we don't replace batteries on Ford Escapes...what?" I called AAA back after going back and forth and ended up speaking to a supervisor who stated, sorry read your terms and conditions...! Yes, you can be charged for vehicle storage and not all the 3rd party contractors replace batteries on vehicles...!
Needless to say, seems like very dishonest company practice and complete disconnect from AAA and their contracted operators. 4 hours of my day wasted, and the only customer service I received at the end, was " File a complaint if you want"...! She was told that there would be a tow in about an hour. Which then changed to "some hours" said the tow guy. Then after I personally called AAA because it was now 9pm and I was right next to her when the tow guy called and stated the above sentence the customer service rep said that the guy had written in their documents that they told her there wasn't anyone able to tow her tonight and declined the tow. Our advice was to call back tomorrow or get a independent tow service which may or may not be reimbursed by AAA if approved.
If I was not around to ensure my mother was alright and proceeded to contact and pay the independent tow company, my mother and her car were expected to just sit on the side of the road until morning? This made me seriously question why I even pay to have a membership or give AAA another chance. As this was NOT the first time AAA has left me, my grandfather, and now my mother who are all on my membership stranded. I will NOT be renewing my membership - it's not worth the money, effort in asking for help, or time sitting around waiting for no one to come as promised. We’re are incredibly upset with the lack of service we’ve received. We bought a AAA battery last year and it died this summer. We had it jumped 2 times in July, both times we were told it wasn’t fully charged to begin with and they refused to give us a new one without a mechanical report showing it wasn’t the car itself. We got the report, the battery died again for the THIRD TIME is 5 weeks and we were told we needed to submit the paperwork. We sent it in and never heard back. We have called the number we were provided to get the new battery authorization and every single time the woman wasn’t available or had just stepped out.
We called for TWO WEEKS almost daily and never got a response back. We were left without a functioning car thanks you you and were so mad we went out and bought our own battery. To this day we have not heard from the woman who “stepped out for lunch” the last time we called on Tuesday. Disgusting customer service. We will be canceling this membership and AAA should if anything give us a $200 credit for the battery we had to buy and the membership that has proven useless. Go anywhere else…

My car died while camping an hour north of Ft Collins CO on 8/13/23. I called AAA and sat with my car for 3 hours without getting any ETA. Had to have a family member come get me and no choice but to leave keys in the car and approve an unattended tow. I called several times before going to sleep with no updates. At 4:20 am I got a robo call that the car would be picked up at 8 am. Then an hour later, another call saying I was back in the queue with no update. I started calling again in the morning with no results.
At 10 am the next day a tow company called from Ft Collins asking if I still needed a tow. He had not been alerted to my need, but had just seen my request in the computer when following up on a different AAA request. He gave me the name of the other AAA-approved company in the area and they hadn't received the request either. The tow company got my car and it's all done. I can't understand how the two companies in the area were not alerted for 22 hours. I've been a loyal customer for years and am so saddened by the horrible customer support and business process now. On Friday 07/21/23 around 2pm I was travelling north down New State Road in Manchester, CT when a driver of a AAA flatbed pulled out of Hilliard Street, I saw him look to the right and looked to the left, saw my vehicle too close for him to pull out and he did so anyway. I hit the brakes and had to make a pretty abrupt stop. I beeped my horn as I started braking and the driver flipped me the middle finger while laughing. This at an intersection where many accidents happen, one a year and a half ago where a 15 year old girl was killed in an auto accident. And the driver takes such irresponsible, arrogent risks and has zero respect for the general public.
After I started up again, I turned around, caught up with the vehicle and got a photo of it and the GMC truck they were towing. The vehicle plate #**. The driver had zero regard for other human life, if that road was wet, if a driver was behind me had hit me, my car would have ended up in the back driver's side wheel of the flatbed. It was that close!!
In following up I was told that any disiplinary action is proprietary and not something that is divulged to the public. I did not ask nor would I want any personal information about the driver, as I'd not want him or anyone knowing mine. The fact is that the public and a person particularly who was nearly involved in an accident with their vehicle should have a right to know what disciplinary action is being taken to ensure this will never happen again. If he's fired or given a written warning, furloughed for a week as a disciplinary action regardless of their policies should be given to the person involved. I find it stunning that this company's policy is to protect this employee by giving the public lip service with regard to an extremely frightening incident. Zero transparency on their disciplinary actions is appalling.

At 7:30 and the ETA being pushed back twice I called for a ride, went home, got my truck and trailer and towed it myself. At 7:45 on the ride home I got my final update, which I didn't think much of as I cancelled it after that text. At 8:30 the following morning (14.5 hours later....during a heat advisory and severe storm warning...) a tow truck driver called and said he was 20 minutes away. If I could give them no stars I would. I have had them for over 4 years and the service has been horrible for the last year. Last August, we had a flat tire and, because we were supposedly broken down on a highway that they did not service, I ended up spending $200+ to have my car towed myself ON vacation. Fine - it happens. About 2 months ago, the car broke down AGAIN with my husband and 9-year-old son on the side of the road after 9 pm. I called AAA and spoke to someone who sounded like I woke them up. Set up a tow and was told they did not have an ETA but we would be texted once the driver was en route.
An hour and a half later - NOTHING. I Called back - they had NO record of the prior call. We had to set up ANOTHER tow and I was advised that we could wait another 1-2 hours. An hour later and call #3 - now midnight - was told that the driver was behind in that area and unable to give ETA. Was told nothing to do but wait. After a 4th call - and another hour at 1 am, the husband was advised that he could leave the car with the key under the mat and unlocked. They still had no clue when the driver would be out. They offered a $20 rideshare coupon so he could get home with my son - for a $40 ride.
I called a 5th time - because I KNOW Their Policy about cars needing to be with someone when the tow shows up and was told it was fine - that the driver would be notified and would pick it up. The next morning, when I still had heard NOTHING from AAA or their tow truck driver - I called the shop where it was supposed to have been taken. Guess what? CAN'T FIND IT. I Spent an entire day chasing down my only car only to discover that the driver came out and left it because no one was with it. In total, between the night of the service call and the next day, I had made ELEVEN calls to their support - half of which I was told they had no record of - and by 5 pm had FINALLY located my vehicle.
Fast forward to now - Purchased a new car that comes with roadside assistance for the next 2 years. Call AAA to cancel the account (my mother who pays for the service with her own credit card in HER NAME). Was advised on call #1 - Cancellation team is not available to take the call and offered a call back which she accepted. FIVE days later- no callback and the service renews and the card is charged. Mother calls a second time on 8/4 and was told after an hour that the service could NOT be canceled by her because the account was in MY name AND that no refund could be issued anyway. I call the same day and was again told that no one was available from the "cancellation team" to take the call - offered a call back which I accepted.
It took them FIVE DAYS to call me back. On 8/9 I explain all of this and am told that they need a manager - because they cannot provide a refund but can cancel the service. Was promised a call back by 5-5:30. That time came and went. At 7 pm, I receive the call and am advised that they searched all the calls for the days before we called on 8/4 and located no calls except my call in May (ONE CALL MENTIONED AS LOCATED NOT THE 11 THAT I MADE) and because of that - no refund will be given but the service is canceled. UNACCEPTABLE service - not worth a full $1 let alone $213/year. STAY AWAY - Most insurance plans offer roadside assistance that is competent and complete. Will NEVER use AAA again.

The full-size auxiliary battery in our camper was dead so I called our previously trusted AAA. The guy confirmed it was dead and installed a replacement. Great, I thought until two months later I started noticing issues with electrical elements within our camper. Given it was a brand new battery I didn't think it could be anything to do with that. So I took the van to our trusted mechanic expecting he'd have to do quite a bit of sleuthing to figure out the problem. Nope. He opened up the battery compartment and immediately found the problem: The AAA was the wrong size! It was 30% smaller than what it should have been and as a result, the battery was sliding around in the battery housing. Doing so had damaged the two connector ports. All this on top of it being underpowered! So yes I asked my mechanic to fix the broken pieces and install a correct-size battery.
Once this was done I filed a reimbursement claim with AAA. I had now paid for two batteries and for the repair. Yesterday the most unhelpful dude from AAA called me and flatly said "You gave us no opportunity to replace the wrong battery so you e voided the warranty". No "sorry"; no that's a big drag; no let's buy that wrong battery back from you. Nothing. Wow. Looking elsewhere for roadside assistance going forward and that's after being a GOLD member for 20+ years!

My car broke down around 12PM on 7/17. After calling various friends for help, I decided to attempt to use AAA for services despite having waited more than 4 hours every time I have requested help from AAA in the past. This time, the waiting was no exception and even worse than I had experience previously. I waited for 6 HOURS just to be bounced around to multiple customer service representatives with no help ever arriving.
I will break this down from the very beginning: My first call was placed at 5:10PM - I was quoted a 90 minute arrival for a tow. I had no problem waiting the 90 minutes. After 2 hours of waiting, I called again at 7:15PM. I was told that "something happened with my request" and no tow driver had been assigned to my request. I was assured that this would be remedied immediately, and I should receive a call within 5-10 minutes saying a driver was in route. After waiting for another hour with no such phone call ever coming through, I called AAA again. I was once again told by yet another customer service representative that no driver was enroute to my location and this would be fixed immediately with AAA's "sincerest apologies".
AGAIN, I was told I should receive a phone call from the dispatcher within 5 minutes because the representative "felt terrible" that I was waiting for so long, but no phone call was ever received from the dispatcher. I waited AGAIN, until 10:00PM with the final customer service representative letting me know she would monitor my call and make sure I was picked up immediately. Ultimately, once another hour had passed with no help in sight, at 11:00PM I called an external tow service about 30 minutes away from my location. They offered to come get me immediately after I informed them of my UNACCEPTABLE experience with AAA. It took that tow service exactly 30 minutes to get to my location, which means they did in fact leave, IMMEDIATELY.
Because the garage I was going to have my car towed to was closed by this point in the evening, I had to pay extra for the car to be towed to my home. I ended up having to pay $236.00 out of pocket for a service I pay a premium membership fee for on a yearly basis. Aside from the fact that I am a young female who was left outside at night for 6 HOURS, this is disgusting service for ANYONE to receive. I have photos to back up my claims, and I will be submitting these along with a copy of the receipt from the external tow service I had to pay for out of pocket. Benny's Trucking & Towing out of Holland, MA also has time-stamped photos of my vehicle when they arrived to pick me up, which they took solely because they were disgusted by the lack of service I received from AAA.
While I understand there are staffing issues, and my location may have taken longer to get a tow truck to via AAA, JUST SAY THAT. Do not quote someone 90 minutes when in reality it would have taken more than 6 hours had I not cancelled my request. AAA will NEVER be receiving another dollar from me when they cannot follow through on their promises to their customers. Do better, or create a new business model and procedure.

On 6-21-23 my wife and I experienced car trouble after dining at a local restaurant. There was no cell service but the restaurant owner allowed us to call AAA for a tow from their phone. 8:30PM! We waited over 4 hrs before the Roll back truck arrived. We had received a couple of update calls telling us nonsense about delays and ETAs. We understood there was a disconnect between the "working from home" dispatchers and the towing companies. We were, after all, 30 miles from a town in the middle of a National Forest, did I mention we're handicapped?
Our joy quickly faded as the driver (a heavy set female) chastised us for getting her out of bed. Said she wasn't even going to come! We'd had extreme tire issues. (Vandalism) and had no choice but to be towed. We asked the driver if she could put our spare on the truck with the car. She said no! She then informed us that we couldn't ride with her in the truck! Did I mention we are both handicapped? The restaurant owners were there with us and tried to reason with her. Her response? "I'm not talking to 4 people, I'm leaving! Goodbye!" She climbed up in her truck.
My wife, on her mobility scooter rolled in front of the truck saying - "You can't just leave us here!" Again, her response was to put it in gear, drive around my wife and hit the road. Leaving us there at 2:30AM in the middle of the woods. When I tried to email AAA I learned they have NO contact email address! NONE! Fortunately, there is a very telling cell phone video to share as proof. I'm not sure whether to contact law enforcement or an attorney or both.

Called for lockout service. Was told my membership was cancelled in 2018 (been members since 1990), when they were told we just renewed and received new cards 3 weeks ago, was told it was because we didn't register in new state we moved to even though cards were sent to new address. Was denied service, secured service thru different method, after which they finally figured it out but did not take any responsibility for leaving us without help. They should be investigated by Consumer Protection agency which I will be filling a formal complaint.

My daughter car stopped and called AAA after 2 hours and changed ETA for pick up. We left to get my other car and returned and they had taken my daughter's car. Without someone being there.AAA had no ideal who had my car and the police was called. After feeling like I was stealing or up to something Hoover police finally reported it stolen. Only after my daughter put the picture of it on Facebook did some let us know where it was. AAA has no idea about anything. My daughter car was picked up at 1204pm Saturday without anyone present. As of today 848am Sunday we have no car and the DUMB people at AAA don’t know where it is but I do because someone else told me. Do Not use AAA in Alabama

The first time I called AAA for roadside assistance they told me a tow will be on its way soon. We waited almost 2 hours called back and asked for the tow company that was coming to get us which they provided the number to the company. I called the tow company and to my surprise, they told AAA that they would not be coming to pick us up when they sent the work order in. A cop ended up calling a tow for us and shockingly it was the same tow company that AAA tried to get for us.
They told us that AAA doesn’t pay enough money to the drivers that they cut off AAA at a certain time of day. I then break down again, call AAA hoping to get a rescue, lo and behold due to high call volumes there’s no eta even though the lady on the phone said about an hour. I received a text 2 hours after my call still high call volumes. That was at 11:02 pm. I am writing this review right now at 2:08 am and haven’t heard anything from AAA. I first called at 9:49 pm, they’re the worst, don’t waste your money!!!

My car had a sudden coolant leak and began to overheat within 10 minutes. Luckily, I was able to pull over into a gas station. I called AAA, and got a recording that said they basically could not get to me due to high call volume. They then sent me an automated text message to submit my roadside request. After an hour of waiting for a response, I got another text message that said they didn’t have a technician to assist me. They then automatically canceled my request. Thank goodness I have BMW Roadside Assistance. A person actually answered the phone and they sent someone within 1.5 hours. The next morning a AAA contracted technician called me to come get my car. Really?! 16 hours later?! AAA used to be so good but their automation, lack of personal touch, and unreliability is extremely disappointing. I do not recommend them. We will look around for a new roadside provider.

I called for assistance and they said 1 hour. Well it has been over 3 hours and I am still waiting. I do NOT recommend AAA. I have been a member for 31 years and I have never had this kind of issue. I am very disappointed.

We left the Mercedes at the Speedway convenience store at 6:50pm Saturday night. AAA said they’re sending a guy out there and he will be there at 1pm. After waiting for an hour, we called AAA to get updates. They said they will be there in 15 minutes. Then we waited another two hours before we called them and said where’s our driver. They said they’re an hour out. We finally called the towing company ourselves and the guy said he’ll be here in 15 minutes and an hour later we called again and said we’re just leaving the key under the mat, which now I’m taking a chance that it could be stolen or towed by another company, because that car had been there now for almost 18 hours.
AAA, then put us on hold when we called them back because the guy hadn’t shown yet and put it on hold for 30 minutes till we were disconnected. We called back and they put us on hold again for 30 minutes until we were disconnected. Worst service I have ever received from any company. And I don’t do negative reviews, but AAA was a huge disappointment. Finally, after about 20 hours Mr. ** showed up and towed our car to its destination. AAA should give me service for free. I am a gold card member and should’ve been treated so much better.

I guess we just don't pay enough in increasing fees for AAA's declining services. First it was trip ticks which was an extremely good service for those of us who prefer reading and not scrolling some inane device that is clogged with ads or trying to navigate using a "crap" Google map with no side road information. Now the extremely helpful tour guide books are gone. At what point do the offices close? Oh, can't do that. AAA needs the increased revenue from less counter services? and travel. AAA once an quality American staple has turned into greedy money gouging service providing less for more.

I waited on the side of the road for over 2 1/2 hours despite my request put into AAA on a holiday weekend. Not only did no one ever arrive. They kept putting me off and left me stranded. We called several times, and they just kept transferring me and not helping me at all.
