This is a warning to anyone who is considering doing any business with AAA Northeast. I have been a tenant in their building for over 12 years, and it's been a nightmare. My location is **. They have moved our suite four times in this building at their convenience which cost time and money as any moving of an office space would take. They refuse to send us a monthly rent statement and randomly bill us for local and state taxes. We never know what our rent is to pay and if they do not received payment on the first of each month, they send damning notices. My company has NEVER paid late once we knew what the amount was.
Recently my car was hit in their gated parking lot in an assigned spot. The damage was over $4,000. When I brought this to their attention, they denied any responsibility and fault. How is it I am in an assigned and designated parking spot in a gated lot and patrolled by AAA, but they will not help me out by asking the other five tenants who hit me. It cost me over $1000 out of pocket for the deductible. For a company that says they are all customer service, I disagree.
Regrettably,Bill **

I’ve been a loyal AAA member for over 15 years, and I’m honestly disappointed by my recent experience. I had to change banks for personal reasons and unfortunately missed one payment because I forgot to update my payment information. Since then, I’ve been getting constant calls—sometimes up to five a day from different AAA representatives. It felt excessive and harassing for something that could’ve been handled with a single courtesy reminder.
To make things worse, one of the representatives implied that I’m paying more because I’m married and don’t have my spouse on my policy. The conversation made me feel uncomfortable and discriminated against based on my marital status. My spouse and I have our own insurance for personal reasons, and that choice should be respected. After 15 years of loyalty, I expected better treatment and more professionalism. No customer should feel harassed or judged for personal or financial decisions. I’m now looking into other insurance options, as this experience has left me extremely disappointed.

Horrible horrible HORRIBLE customer service! They have 0 customer service skills! Very rude. They take no accountability. Underwriting cancel my policy in the middle of the policy, due to the fact, I wasn’t able to provide six months previous insurance. When I did do so, they stated that they needed another six months previous to the six months are already on the provide. WTF. Me and my wife both have clean driving records. They left me scrambling scraping to have to move on and go to another car insurance which I have to pay for 10 days after I already paid $500 to them. I called to get a refund and one of the representative stated where your policy is already canceled so I cannot give you a refund which makes zero sense. If the policy is canceled why are you still charging $500? Do not go to them. They are overpriced. They will cancel your policy for no reason. I recommend anybody else in the world before AAA.

If you're a AAA member, make sure your spare tire is filled with air and you can change it yourself if you have a blowout. If you're willing to wait 4 hrs for a tow, AAA is for you. Their first estimate of arival was 1hr then 2 hrs then updated to 3 hrs and then 4 hours! With so many towing companies out there, that was totally unacceptable. Not to mention, it was going to be dark and all tire repair places would have been closed by the time the tow truck arrived. After getting the runaround for 2 hrs, we managed to put the spare on with the help of YouTube. I know there's no way I could ever loosen up lug nuts by myself and at my age. That's why I joined AAA. What a false sense of security that turned out to be.

While you are is in crisis, these adjusters don't give a damn because they are collecting their wages at the end of the week. Very bad company, I don't recommend to AAA to anyone. No tow required!!! We waited for someone and then I call back all to find out no one was coming and they couldn’t even tell us that! We broke down in a Walmart parking lot- we bought a jack and changed our own tire and also changed road side company’s. Being with you for 24 years meant nothing and you don’t value your customers. I’ve been a AAA member since the mid-to-late 1980s, and I’m very disappointed with the way my recent situation was handled. On July 4th, I needed a tow but had to cancel because the town police required my car to be removed sooner than AAA was able to arrive. When I called to cancel, I was told I could submit for reimbursement—that was all the information I was given.
Due to unforeseen circumstances (death in family), I wasn’t able to submit the reimbursement form until early September. At no point did the customer service representative mention there was a deadline, so I had no reason to check the website for one. When I finally submitted my receipt for $145, I was denied and instead offered only a $61 membership credit. Not only was the process unclear, but the customer service I received was rude and unhelpful. For someone who has been a loyal member for decades, this experience feels like a complete disregard for long-term customers. AAA needs to do better.

We've been a AAA member for over 20 years. We took a couple of years off because at the time Good Sam had RV coverage and AAA did not. When AAA started covering RVs we came back. When calling for service we found the phones are always answered promptly. Maybe not with the best informed clerk, but they try. For example, our RV trailer blew a tire and we could see the Rockledge, FL overpass and AAA sent someone from Daytona. When we asked why we had to wait so long (over 2 hours), no reason was given to us. Wait times for a tow vary depending on the third party contractors and how busy they are; or if you're in a dangerous area.
We've recently retired and sold our RV and called AAA to cancel our membership; it was just renewed 1 month ago and their customer service solution was "to let it lapse." We asked the representative if that was the only option and she said yes, AAA doesn't give refunds. Even though we explained we were retired, aren't traveling, are on a fixed budget and have road side with our auto insurer; her answer was to tell us to be sure we cancelled the auto pay feature and let it lapse. She did apologize (I'm sure that's part of their spiel). As far as customer service goes, she was only doing her job, but AAA should reconsider their "no refund" policy. So much for being a valued longtime member.

I am only giving a review of 1 because you cannot leave a 0 rating. I have been a member of AAA RV Gold Plus roadside assistance for many years. I never had to use this service until recently. On 9/15/25, approximately 1:30 PM, my 40 foot 5th Wheel Camper broke down on US 23 in Michigan. I called for a tow and got handed off to a sub-contractor who basically extorted me 2 x for additional charges and 3 different promises of when I would get towed. I ended up giving them my credit card number to get towed by certain times and they did not keep their promised times. The first promise was 6 - 8 PM, they did not show. The 2nd promise was by 10:30, they did not show. The next promise was by midnight, no show. The next promise was before 8:00AM the next morning, no show.
AAA had stopped their phone and text communications with me, as did the sub-contractor. I was at this point dealing with a tow truck operator the gave me 3 different estimates, but never showed until sometime early afternoon. So essentially I paid nearly $900 over and above to the extortionists for promises of tow times that were not honored. I called to complain to AAA about this experience and cancel my membership and request a refund of the 6 months balance of my membership fees and they refused. To try to accomplish this, I had to speak to 12 different representatives, tell 6 different people why, get put on hold and transferred at least 10 times and all this for nothing. I would strongly advise against purchasing an RV roadside assistance membership from AAA. They are absolutely clueless and not empathetic to getting their customer the service they have paid for. I guess that is why they now have a 1.5 stars rating.

If I could give 0 stars it would be too many. The customer service is absolutely garbage. I requested help with a battery installation and was told if I went and purchased one they could send someone to install it. After purchasing the new battery I was then informed they will not install 3rd party batteries and I would have to buy another one from them that was double the price. I spoke with a supervisor who told me I could put in a complaint but ultimately it wouldn't go anywhere.
This company has no problem lying to the customers with no fear of any repercussions. They then told me they could tow me to a mechanic but I would have to pay for install at whatever place they tow me too. They were absolutely no help in resolving this issue and did not care in the slightest that their employees lied and ended up costing more money than if I would have just had it towed in the first place. Keep in mind that was originally what I called to do and was recommended by an agent to do the battery install instead. They were extremely unprofessional.

Still feeling uneasy about the situation, I called AAA again. This time, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Shanette B. Her calm and professional demeanor immediately put me at ease. I wouldn't give them ANY stars if that were possible!! I have been a member for 20 years and haven't needed too many services up until a few years ago. AAA is having an increasingly difficult time contracting with service providers because they are not willing to pay enough. For this reason, it takes HOURS for them to line someone up to come help.
We have had two awful experiences recently - one involving an RV that died on the interstate (waited 3.5 hrs with heavy traffic, finally made arrangements myself. Cost us $1600 and AAA reimbursed $500); and one involving a truck stuck in a boat ramp (again waited 3 hrs, made calls myself - luckily found a AAA provider 30 miles away). BOTH times, they send text updates and call saying they are still working to locate a service provider. The 2nd time they said someone would show within 30 minutes and then 15 min later, I got a text saying my "request is in queue and we'll update you soon with a more precise ETA."
The guy I contacted myself who came to our rescue said he would only get $62 from AAA (the other guy I called would've charged $250)!! AAA doesn't care about delivering services and much of the time, are unable to provide services! Their system is a scam... and until they are willing to pay fairly, they will continue to go downhill. I will be terminating my membership.

I believe AAA management is aware they have a monopoly over this service and it shows in the way they let their staff act. They are the laziest most miserable people ever and if you don’t kiss up to them they’ll find an excuse to transfer you yet again.
My most recent experience with them was being stranded with a stalled vehicle in the middle of an intersection at 2am. I never received a call they were coming until 10am that someone was coming where I told them to kick rocks, I found someone to come. We’ve had AAA for decades and I haven’t been able to imagine not having it. But the past couple of years something has happened - either with the tow companies or AAA itself. First thing I noticed was we ran out of roadside assistance a couple years ago. They said I’d called too many times. I admit I think it was three times that year, but I thought it was strange at the time. I paid the extra money and bought a battery. I’m always so grateful for the help I buy a battery even though I know it costs more. Then I locked my keys in the car at a gas station at 2am going home from work and I froze to death waiting three hours for the unlock. That time they also said I’d run out of roadside so I paid $175. The guy felt so bad he said he’d delete it, if they called he said just tell them I got it open myself.
Now, twice, I’ve tried to get jump starts and they never showed up. Of course after a few hours someone manages to help. Now I’m buying those little jump starters so I don’t have to use cables or have another car to help. All these years, never had a problem and I’ve always been grateful, even paying $300 for a long distance tow because we didn’t have premium. We have it now, but it runs out quick and lately no one is showing up. I get the feeling AAA and the tow companies don’t want to bother anymore. At least it’s teaching me to be more self-reliant - but the learning curve is causing anguish meantime. AAA used to be so reliable.

That is absolutely inexcusable for it to take that long. They even gave me an update by text message at one point that said the tow truck would be there in 30 minutes but it took 3 hours after that. I also tried calling the customer service to get updates on why it was taking so long but I kept getting hung up on, it happened at least 3 or 4 times. I eventually got a person on the phone who didn’t hang up on me but it shouldn’t take multiple tries. Worst service I have ever had from any company, just awful! Someone shouldn’t have to spend their entire day sitting and waiting for a tow truck to tow them across town. A couple hours would be acceptable but 5.5 is just not ok.

I would like to hopefully bring attention to the faulty app tracking system, it’s supposed to be for discount but doesn’t have option for putting yourself as passenger til after trips so if you’re ubering daily to houston it eats your score down low and the app guy was pretty smug, saying there’s nothing they can do and underwriters won’t read notes, those where his words. So the app needs the option to mark yourself as passenger before the trip, but lacks the ability so regardless, it counts off your score, needs revision.

I have to say as an ex customer of AAA, if you are thinking of getting this service, save your money! First time I needed assistance, it was denied. This was because I had to walk for an hour uphill to my truck (which was at a mechanic's shop & getting moved to another) and I am in my 70's. As far as they were concerned, too bad - so sad! I had a better deal through my auto insurance. There are better solutions. This company used to be great, but now, they could care less!!!

Well we ended up needing assistance. They always say they’ll cover any vehicle I’m in right? Well wrong. They wouldn't cover me when I was in my husband's truck due to my husband's oversized tires. Then they’re telling me including truck I have to pay 1500 for towing of my fifth wheel too? Why when I upgraded my roadside assistance to include my trailer? We thought our battery was dead but it turned out to be the starter. It took AAA about an hour at first to come out and test that. Then the guy that came out said he would call a tow truck and left. After about an hour, we didn't hear anything so we called AAA and they said there was no call, but they would get one now and put us on "priority" since we had been waiting already. We received 3 different texts saying it would be 16 minutes, then 58 minutes, then a AAA agent called and said it would be another 45 minutes.
We waited FOUR HOURS for a tow after AAA said we would be put on priority, so 5 hours total. It wouldn't have been so bad had we not kept getting messages that said different times that kept changing, and a call again from them that was wrong again, so we wasted an entire evening waiting for a tow. That's just terrible service and completely unreliable. We're looking at other options for roadside service as it would have been even worse had we been stranded in the middle of nowhere.

I got a flat tire and was stuck on the side of a highway with a high speed limit. For the next few hours (still stuck on the highway), I spoke to several different people giving them the exact same information, and they still managed to get it wrong when giving it to the driver who was dispatched to help me. He was given information that I was in a different part of the state, 45 minutes away. I have no idea how because I told them exactly where I was on the highway by giving them the mile markers that I was near and my coordinates according to google maps. How on earth did they get that I was in a completely different location? After dealing with that, it took 3 hours for someone to come out, only to find out that he wouldn't have been able to help me because my spare tire didn't have a rim. Fair enough. I was told I would have to call AAA and get a tow truck out to me.
I did exactly that. After a half hour of nothing, I called them and asked what was going on. Apparently, my situation was marked "low priority" despite me being stuck on the side of a highway with a high speed limit. They moved me up to high priority/emergency. Much later (I was stuck on the side of the highway for 4 hours at this point), I get a call from the towing company saying that they would be out to me for another 40 minutes. The man asked me to confirm my location and I told him where I was. Once again, he somehow got that I was in the same wrong location from AAA and I was told that I would have to call them again so that they could send the towing company the right location.
At this point, I was beyond angry, but kept my cool when talking to customer service. The AAA people said that they had the right location in their system and had no clue how the towing place got the wrong location. They assured me that they would fix the miscommunication. It was 5 hours before someone finally came out to me and was actually able to help me. I finally got out of there. This entire situation was extremely frustrating and infuriating to deal with. I am so thankful that this didn't happen at night, especially being a young woman who was by myself.

Very poor service. The roadside assistance was nice. Especially during winter when I needed a jumpstart to my car. But customer service and price was poor. Found out I was paying literally double than what I got now after numerous years with them. Customer service was really awkward and frustrating. Sometimes I would move to different zip code literally 10 minutes down the road. I would call to let them know to update things and they would say my insurance would go up $100. I asked if that was a month or for the 6 month policy term and they said a month which sounds outrageous. I then asked what total for new term would be and the representative said he could not access that info and only a manager can so to call back another day.
I also tried setting up autopay on the website which kept glitching so I called to do so. Multiple times they confirmed auto pay was set up but then a week later I would get messages saying I was late at making my monthly payments because customer service never really set up auto pay after numerous confirmations. Also, even after confirming cancellation of membership with AAA, they still send mail leading up to your renewal date acting like you need to make a payment by certain date even sending a new membership card. I call and they say I am cancelled and not scheduled to pay but still get mail saying that I need to pay to renew membership. I tried to explain to her that this was the vehicle I drove up in, different model, different color, different year and license plate, she yelled at me more this time saying the vehicle has no insurance or registration (I have attached proof the registration is in my name and current with insurance on the vehicle I tried to tow), finally I had to hang up on her due to excessive verbal abuse, at this point I was shaking and could hardly stand.
I am 62 years old and needed to get medically checked as my heart had palpitations, I ended up getting some meds, but the entire experience was awful, I even told the horrible lady that I can send a picture of the insurance and registration of the vehicle that broke down outside the restaurant both of which were in my name for a very long time, she did not care and continued to make assumptions about her radical theory, she even said I only needed my other car towed because I wanted a ride home, how would that make sense at all.
She was a disgrace to AAA and needs to be terminated, also the tow company called “Welcome Auto Body and Towing” located in South Lake Tahoe were in on the scam, they called me and said I need to pay them $1600.00 cash because they won’t tow via AAA, they are all involved in scams to take funds from legit customer, me of which have been loyal to AAA for 24 years. I have been very loyal to AAA, rarely do I ever use their tow service, the time I really needed AAA, they let me down, I ended up paying $1,500.00 to have my vehicle towed to a repair shop I normally use, they said the fuel pump had failed, that is why it would not start at the restaurant.

They didn't have the time to do the work that needed to be done which was understandable. I wanted to tow the vehicle back to my house, where I could try to work on it and if I couldn't fix it, then I did have another shop lined up that could take it in about 2 weeks. I was informed by the dispatcher that once the car is at a repair shop, they will only tow it to another repair shop and that it was against policy to tow it to a residence. I even told them that it's on the side of the public road in front of the shop, not actually on their property anymore.
I was told I had to pay out of pocket for another tow company, not them, to have it towed back to my house. I used who they recommended which cost $147 for a 5-minute tow. I looked up their policy online after the tow and what I was told was incorrect. AAA isn’t what it used to be. Twenty years ago, it was a badge of honor and a trusted service. Now, it’s just a shell of its former self. I had been a AAA member for over three years, and my grandmother has been a member for nearly thirty. When I moved from Maine to Illinois, I called AAA a month in advance to update my membership. I was told over the phone—and confirmed in letters—that my account had been adjusted and there would be no interruption in service as my membership transferred.
Fast forward to yesterday: I was stranded on the side of the road for five hours, fighting with AAA over this exact issue. Instead of taking accountability for their mistake, they tried to bill me extra on top of what I had already paid. It felt like a mob-style shakedown.
Here’s what happened:
First, they told me my club hadn’t changed.
Then, they said my membership had expired (even though I had letters saying otherwise).
Then, they told me I had to renew for $220. Out of desperation, I agreed, just to get help.
But after paying, I was told I also owed another $60 for a “same-day use” fee.
I escalated to customer retention and spoke with Mr. **. He promised the $60 fee would be waived and that everything was taken care of. But an hour later, I had no call, no email, no dispatch confirmation. When I called back, they said all my service requests had been cancelled and that I had “used up” my benefits—on a request that hadn’t even been fulfilled. When I pushed back, I was told the $60 fee still applied, and nobody could honor what Mr. ** had said.
At that point, I had spoken with five different people, wasted five hours of my day, and gotten absolutely nowhere. Finally, I told them to cancel my membership. When asked if I was really quitting “over a $60 fee,” I said yes—because this wasn’t about the money. It was about principle. I had done everything right: updated my membership a month prior, confirmed by phone and mail, and still AAA failed me, misled me, and wasted my time.
I asked for a full refund and walked away. AAA has lost all sense of accountability, communication, and customer care. It’s a shame to see how far they’ve fallen. This member quit today.

Absolutely horrible experience only 5 miles from our home and only had to tow 6 miles and took approx 4+ hours. We will be cancelling our membership asap.

AAA has enjoyed a pretty good reputation but my experience with them has been TERRIBLE. The only service I used was Emergency roadside, twice. First time they kept extending the estimate arrival. After three hours of waiting they said I had called them to cancel it. What a shameless way to cover their poor performance. The second time they needed a full day to show up. No excuses other than we’re really busy. At least they didn't string me along hour by hour. I know AAA has to depend on local service providers, but where’s the quality control?
So I tried to cancel my AAA membership. Can’t do it online. Fifteen minute phone wait. Then the rep had to make me wait for her supervisor to handle it. He said he had cancelled my membership, but I could continue to use it until it expired next year. What? Then how much refund. None! He insisted that cancelling my membership was the same as letting it expire and that was AAA’s official cancellation policy. Nuts!

My battery and alternator died around 10pm on a Sunday night, so I called AAA for emergency roadside assistance. I waited for three hours, only to be told they had no dispatchers available in my area and wouldn’t have anyone until the following morning. I had to leave my car overnight and find my own way home. So much for “emergency” roadside service. When I finally did get a tow, the driver damaged my car and refused responsibility. He told my mechanic that power steering fluid had leaked onto his truck. My mechanic confirmed this wasn’t true — the leak was coolant caused by the driver breaking the housing on my upper radiator hose while attempting to jump my battery. Prior to the tow truck touching my car, the only issue was a dead battery.
I filed a damage report with AAA, who then pushed me off to their contractor, 3D Roadside Assistance. That company hung up on me and blocked my number. AAA has refused to take responsibility for either the damage or the unprofessional behavior of their contractor. AAA failed me twice: first by leaving me stranded overnight, and then by refusing accountability when their contracted driver damaged my car. Completely unprofessional. Save yourself the stress and get roadside coverage through your auto insurance instead of giving AAA your money.

Well, I've been a AAA member since 1996. And they've been terrific at getting vehicles started, rows and such. Except for a few times they were extremely late. But that's not AAA fault, it's the individual tow company coming to assist. Now, I have just found out that they have made drastic changes that will definitely hurt the company as a whole. They've changed the POLICY for amounts of road service request. This is a huge hit to the company and its customers.
They have eliminated the use of our usual 4 service requests down to 2 per whole year. It's basically a great way to lose customers. And they were very deceptive, and not announcing it. There's a small bulletin post in a newsletter who no one ever reads. But unfortunately, we are going to be cancelling our long standing membership. It's unfortunate, but we found much better competition for actually cheaper pricing. These changes are made to family policies. But beware, this company might just change things again without advising customers. CUSTOMER BEWARE!!

In the past using (20 year members) AAA we talked to a live human and received accurate timely service. This time we waited 3 1/2 hours. First, it took AAA ALMOST 2 hours to locate a provider. Second, even though I provided a description of our red car and trailer AI told the provider we had a red enclosed trailer requiring a tire change. Third, even though AI was provided an accurate location the provider was given a location 5 miles from our location. Only when the provider contacted me directly was I able to give him our true location.
After AAA secured his services we were not notified directly via text by AAA the provider was in route and his ETA even though we were promised to be contacted by AAA. We will not renew our nearly $200 Premier membership. How do we know AAA is now AI our provider explained it to us after informing him of the lack of service, the exception is Bay Battery and Towing was excellent and went above and beyond giving us service, thanks Danny.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. I purchased a battery through AAA 2 years ago; I am no longer a AAA member, but they are still required to honor the warranty. I called and they said yes, we'll honor but you will have to meet the person to get the battery because you are no longer a member, they won't bring it to you. I said that's fine. Sadly, the company they contract with only work with you if you are a AAA member, and AAA won't put the request in if you're not a member. I called AAA again to let them know it was impossible to take advantage of the warranty if the company they partner with will only do business with AAA members.
I was then informed that wasn't true by a different associate, but they refused to connect me with the business because I'm no longer a member. In addition, for replacement of the battery, it is required that the company comes out to check the battery, but I had to set it up and pay for them to come out. I said fine, but I need to be able to connect with them and they won't answer my calls, only AAA.
They refused to connect me to the company unless I purchased a new membership. I looked into getting a new membership, but read on their site that all services in the first 3 days pay $125 non-refundable fee, in addition to the membership, which no one on the phone ever stated. I informed customer service of this and they said, Oh, yeah. I asked, if the requirements for the warranty was as they stated, why would they not contact the company so that I could do what's needed to get the battery? They continued to say because I'm not a member and that is a part of the battery warranty; I asked, why this was not disclosed when I purchased the battery, and they said it was on the warranty.
I reviewed my warranty and nowhere in the warranty does it state these requirements for battery replacement. I informed the Supervisor, Denise, that the warranty doesn't state this requirement. I asked where in the warranty does it state this requirement and she says 'I don't know where it says it, but I do this all the time.' If AAA is going to have their staff quoting policy that they are using to deny a service, at least have them know the actual policy. They are just repeating what I'm assuming they are told to say to deny customers a service they already paid for. I hate this company! And would not suggest anyone get a membership or insurance through them. They will send you through the gates of hell just to get assistance, and still won't help.

We purchased a battery through AAA with a three-year warranty. Two and a half years later, the battery died in our driveway and the car would not start. A AAA technician came out, tested the battery, claimed it was “fine,” jumped the car, and told us to let it run. The dashboard lights were flickering, but we were reassured everything was fine. We let the car run for over 45 minutes, then drove a mile or two and turned it off—only to find the battery completely dead again.
Our mechanic examined the car and confirmed the problem was the battery. From there, our experience with AAA descended into a time-consuming and infuriating mess. We spent hours on hold and speaking to various representatives, each giving us a different version of what we “needed to do” to have the warranty honored.
On a prior call, AAA told us to get a letter from our mechanic stating that the battery was defective. We did exactly that. But when we spoke to “Rebecca” in Member Relations, she refused to accept it—insisting we instead provide a full diagnostic determining exactly what was wrong with the battery. We explained that diagnosing the inner workings of their defective product is not our responsibility, especially when it had already failed in the real world and passed only an in-field test that clearly meant nothing.
Rather than try to help, Rebecca doubled down. She repeatedly implied we were being “condescending,” quoted warranty fine print at us, and generally made it clear AAA had no intention of honoring their warranty. The entire process was equal parts humiliating and maddening—like navigating a bureaucratic nightmare designed to exhaust you into giving up. We have now purchased a new battery from our trusted mechanic. AAA’s warranty was worthless, their customer service dismissive, and their handling of this situation insulting. We will never buy a AAA battery again.

My problems started on Monday 8/4/25 and continued through Tuesday. Your agents working the phones gave me so many different answers and refused to pick my car up for a tow on Tuesday. It took 2 calls on Monday and on the second call (different person) she said she could have someone there in 2 HOURS. Well where I needed it towed from was closing at 3:00. I asked the woman if I could just schedule it for Tuesday? "NO". I needed to call on Tuesday and do it. So on Tuesday I drive to location, and call AAA. I'm told, "NO we can't pick up from impound lot." (Well that is complete bullshit.)
THERE IS A SIGN HANGING INSIDE THAT SAYS "AAA does pick up from here" and to really make matters worse....There is a AAA tow truck in the parking lot. I'm looking at it as she just says NOPE it's a new policy. What did it go into effect secretly, did some not tell the AAA tow truck driver that was sitting right there in the lot by me? I had to call another towing company and pay $100.00 to have my car towed to AAA TIRE AND SERVICE CENTER. Literally less than 3 miles away. Talk about an awful experience all the way around.
Now the real kicker AAA TIRE AND SERVICE CENTER tell me the repair will be $780.00. Telling people you get discounted pricing because you're a member is a joke. You just mark the service way up and then take a few bucks off. The mechanic I've used for years is going to do the repair for $610.00. I only wish I would have had my complete brake job done there. I should have known better, but I assumed I was getting this complete brake job for a decent price (as promoted) well over $900.00 for that big mistake.
I've been a member for a long time and this has been a nightmare. I could have bought roadside assistance through the dealership where I bought my car. I would not have been told on Monday it was going to be 2 hours to get a truck to me. It was 90° and I had my 4 year grand daughter with me. Here I am on Thursday and my car was towed from AAA TIRE & SERVICE CENTER. The representative on the phone told me I had to be with my car and driver's license. So I have to drive downtown, 8 miles from my home in rush hour traffic. OF COURSE he did NOT ask for it. So to sum it up, this entire experience has cost me hundreds of dollars.

He suggested me that he could take my car to the nearest location within 3-5 miles. But for what, while I requested very clearly that I wanted my car to the requested destination.
So the tow never happened, and I was left without help. I had to leave my car at my company’s parking lot for a whole night. I had to request another tow again on the next day 8/1— and this time it worked. But since the first request yesterday failed and the service wasn’t completed as promised, I don’t feel the $125 was fairly earned because I didn’t receive the immediate service I paid for when I needed it most.

I’ve been a member for many years but the past couple years everything about AAA has gone so far downhill that I feel I need to get off of this train wreck! I gave you a saving grace (which you didn’t deserve) when you towed my car at 11pm at night but the tow truck never delivered my car to my house. I spent hours practically in the middle of the night trying to locate my car with no help from anyone at AAA. They said well we called the tow driver and he said he delivered it. Imagine my surprise the next morning at 6am when a sheriff is knocking on my door asking if I lost my car last night! So here’s what happened. The tow driver actually took my car and dropped it off in someone else’s driveway! Yeah.
The woman woke up for work and went to take her dogs out and saw random car parked in her driveway! She couldn’t get out of her own driveway to go to work. The sheriff found my registration in the glove box and came to let me know and AAA couldn’t come and tow it for 4 hours later!!! Even after that I was willing to stay with them.
Until today. Today my husbands F-350 dually truck broke down. I called for a tow. You can’t talk a real person until you go through all the bullshit they ask. Then she says” you will be transferred to your local representative for who will provide your service.” So the local person speaks and begins asking the same damn questions! All I want is a tow! And I’ve been on the phone for 20 minutes already! Finally he tells me “I will get a text from the tow company about when they will be there.” Then guess what happened? NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I got NO text even after an hour later and I wasn’t about to try calling again.
In the end I called around and got a tow myself. Of course I had to pay out of pocket. As I have multiple times in the past due to the time it takes to get a tow I would have bring a meal while I wait. NO THANKS! The shitty part is knowing that I just paid my yearly dues and I’m stuck with no way to get out of this money trap they have going on. It’s TOTALLY not worth it. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME!

Horrible AI generated customer service. I have waited 3 hours only for them to send a text to make an APPOINTMENT to pick up my vehicle on the side of the road the next day. Why am I paying an annual fee for this service? I am shocked at the response of AAA.

I wanted to save money on my auto insurance by using my AAA membership, as claimed in AAA's advertisement. This was not the case, as I found out. Their quote for auto insurance for me and my wife, was nearly 40% higher than my current, already exorbitant rate with Auto Owner's insurance. My current auto insurance company had already increased my rates by over 106% over the last 3 years, even though I have not had any accident, ticket, DUI, or anything else and even paid my premium in advance and in full for each year.
AAA's advertising is false, and, their claim of saving the potential customer money on their auto insurance is a blatant lie. I regret becoming an AAA member now, as they have began our relationship with falsehoods and deceit. I thought they were a reputable company, now, I know better. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AAA auto insurance to anyone. They false advertise and lie. Leave this deadbeat company out of your insurance provider portfolio.

We have been "loyal" members of AAA since 1976. Our annual roadside dues are now $165.00. Plus we have purchased AAA memberships past years for our kids and grandkids when they started driving. I remember when AAA used to be a reliable service, getting a tow truck to you within an hour. Now they quote at least a 2-hour wait time to get help. My truck was stuck in a drainage ditch on private property a few days ago. Instead of getting the particulars of my vehicle first, asking if I was safe, I got a lecture on how the tow truck may not want to come up a dirt road, they would have to assess the situation before deciding they would help at all, they don't usually dispatch to private property- blah blah blah.
Excuse me but what have I been 'loyally' paying for--for 49 years?! I have another motor plan specifically for horse owners who haul their horses. I needed their assistance once and they never even questioned whether I was on a dirt road. They showed up within 40 minutes. Maybe I will use them as my motor plan going forward and not renew AAA. AAA service has really tanked. The tow truck driver was awesome, though and got me out of the ditch safely without any damage to my truck. That is the only reason I'm generously giving two stars.
