AAA nearly doubled our car insurance premium at renewal, for no reason. No claims, no changes in address. The new premium is like 8% of the value of the car. Price gouging scumbags. I moved to State Farm for a fraction of the cost.

1. Small deal but AAA misspelled my name on my card. I called them immediately July 1, and requested new cards. It is August 16. No New cards.
2. Ordered a Trip Tic. Printout was so small and detailed that you could never drive and just glance at the trip tic. I didn’t give this much consideration because.
3. The trip tic has a QR code to connect to your digital device. Please understand that the Trip Tic on your device has zero functionality. No voice commands, the directions don’t move as you drive, and in my case, my actual map was a blurred line from PA to MT. I called all the way to CA after spending nearly 8 hours trying to get the app to work only to find out that the app is indeed NONFUNCTIONAL.
4. Nobody at AAA seems to understand traveling over the road. I believe that they have given up that role to Waze, Google Maps etc.
5. From the day I got my membership at AAA my email has been inundated with spam from every freaking auto insurance company out there. So, AAA sells your personal information.
6. The people at AAA, a service company do not understand that they offer service. If service is their product, it is a horrible product. They are unable to answer questions. But they delight in the fact that they can fingerprint you, or take your passport picture, or try to sell you insurance, get you airplane tickets.… But driving somewhere? Why that’s beyond their comprehension.

Hello - Writing to share feedback on my membership. Today for the first time to the best of my knowledge I reached out for service on my AAA membership. I have been a continuous member for thirty 30 years - since 1994. The one time that I call, I am told that I do not have a membership. I sustained the membership across moves from California to Nevada, back to California, to Florida, back to California, and to Texas.
Despite three 3 decades of loyally paying membership fees, today you denied my request for service. I was passed around across three 3 representatives. The third 3rd - Texas AAA - hung up on me after asking how I was doing. I replied that I was not happy, and "Muhammad" hung up on me. This is an egregious and outrageous abuse of policy and customer loyalty. What a sham. AAA has not integrity. I cannot tell how remorseful I am that I loyally paid you for those many years, without absolutely no return on investment. You should be ashamed.

Terrible company! Complete lack of integrity. I had a blowout on a turnpike (highway) in a construction zone with half a car size shoulder, Therefore, half my car was in the lane of traffic. Semis and other vehicles were near misses. I told the csr I was not safe and was told it would be at least 2 hours. Thankfully, OHP showed up 15 minutes later. Should have cancelled my membership and gotten a refund…
However, today I needed a tow. Got the COMPLETE runaround by csr at AAA. Put in a call at 10:30. Said they would be there in 1.5 hours. Never heard from anyone. Called back at 12:30. Said they would have someone there by 1:50. Called again at 2:00. Still hadn’t heard from anyone, then spoke to a dispatch supervisor, she said they would be there in an hour. Never heard from anyone. At 4:30 finally received a call from a wrecker, who stated he had just been dispatched. The CSR lied repeatedly. Would never recommend and demanded a refund for my membership. I was considering other products with AAA, but would never now.

My sister called at 9:01AM Saturday, August 10, 2024 when her 2006 Toyota Corolla would not start. I had accidentally left the headlights on. She was told roadside assistance would arrive by 11:01AM and she would receive a call before they came. 11:30 AM she called to say no one called and no one showed up. I spoke to the customer service rep who tried to reach both the driver and Dispatch. Neither answered their phone. She put in a request to have Dispatch call us. At 1:20PM I called AAA when Dispatch never called.
This customer service rep said Philadelphia Fleet had the order and she offered to expedite a request for Dispatch to call me. The CSR offered to give the order to another AAA roadside assistance provider. At this point I thought if Dispatch is not responding it is useless trying to contact them to assign it to another AAA roadside assistance provider. I had no confidence in AAA and cancelled the order. I can see the driver not responding but how is it that AAA Dispatch never responded. It occurred to me later that Dispatch and Philadelphia Fleet might not work on the weekend.

In my experience with AAA for two years, I was very disappointed in the service I received. I joined for 2 reasons: roadside assistance for my wife because I work a lot, also roadside assistance for towing a trailer back and forth out of state. I needed a tow truck in the first year, it was 34 degrees at night. After 3 hours, no tow truck. I called AAA and they said a truck was not on the way to our location. I ended up calling a friend to take us home and leaving the car. I later went back with my car hauler to pick it up.
The 2nd time, my wife's car broke down a little after 7:00 pm, I was at home with our small children. She said she would wait for the tow truck. This went on till 11:00 pm waiting for them to call her back so she knew a tow truck was on the way. I then loaded our small children in my truck, hooked up the car hauler and picked her up. They failed us both times we needed them. I called the next day, demanded my money back and ended service with AAA. It is not a peace of mind, it's false hope!

They lie every time you call for an update and they say if you are then you're last priority but my husband stuck in the middle of nowhere with no ac because if a broke down truck is not safe. I've been with them for over 10 years and they have gone to crap. A company who doesn't care about the safety if their customers.

AAA FAILED TO GIVE PROMPT COMPLETE SERVICE AFTER THEY INSTALLED A WRONG BATTERY AND REFUSED TO CORRECT IT FOR THE PAST TEN MONTHS. Refused to pay the prorated amount of $149.55 and return membership fees of $181.00 in 2023-24 for work not done. Falsified $100 invoice in a retaliatory billing for which service was not provided. Employees lied about calls, service and dispatched trucks without correcting and installing the proper battery. Purposely ran the complaint time into the expiration date of the membership. Refused to provide service records for our Prime Membership pertinent to service calls. Sent an insulting check for $68.64 instead of the prorated amount or the full refund of $217.47 for the purchased battery for my car.
UNNACCEPTABLE for a company that touts #1 in service. AAA has broken our trust, discriminated against us, negligence, fraud and breach of contract has resulted in lack of service, theft and lack of customer satisfaction; guilty of false advertising, and failed to deliver. I found they are not a member to BBB; but yet, they have an “F” rating by the Better Business Bureau. They are not invested in customer satisfaction and they do not back or support the technicians sent to service the car. They also made false statements by letter affecting and raising our rates to our auto insurance for no reason other than their incorrect information put into the files. Their records are incomplete, missing or incorrect. Their attitude towards us has been unnecessarily discriminatory as we did not create this issue. I have requested the following from AAA:
Refund our entire family Premier membership for 2023-2024 for $181.00; services not received; Refund the entire purchase of the correct battery for $217.47; (to replace the wrong battery installed by AAA; caused damages to my vehicle; Invalidate and remove the incorrect and retaliatory invoice for $100.00 for services not received and generated by AAA; Forward the requested service call records for both premier members from 01/01/2019 through current; Pay for all related travel expenses we incurred since the initial call for battery service was made in September 2023; AAA’s negligence, discrimination and delays have severely impacted our finances without the use of my vehicle for 10 going on 11 months of unreasonable delays and bad business tactics not to correct their bad faith actions.
The recent check of $68.64 is incorrect; and is not the amount discussed with Corporate contact Brenda ** who promised to personally handle this case properly. Case #: **; AAA membership #: **. We are highly dissatisfied and disappointed with AAA. We feel neglected, discriminated against, our contract breached, ignored and lied to on several occasions, victims of false advertising and breach of contract, retaliated against, didn’t receive the services we paid for and will never recommend AAA to anyone, especially family or friends. AAA’s negligence has costs us far more than the new battery and our premier membership. They should not be in business at all.

AAA of Texas is just like the rest of the automobile insurance companies. You join them, forced into buying their Auto Club Roadside Assistance (not the best either). Have an initial good premium. Slowly the rates go up, and up. You been a good driver, no marks are you driver license and you think life is good. After about 8 years of being with AAA your rates go up 25%. Hmm, No accidents, no claims, no dings on your driving record. Why me you ask? It is a state thing they say. So, along comes a bad year for you caught by a Tornado’s Hail, two of your vehicles are damaged. Of course, AAA does not want to pay. Another storm and some other damage to the vehicle. At this point I just want to run away. Finally, AAA decide that you are at risk, and doesn’t renew the policy. So 8 years of premiums no incidents, great driving record, a few not your fault claims, and you gone.
Lesson: As long as you pay the premium and they collect the $$$ and have no claims, you’re good. Life throws you a curve ball, and they dump and run. You should not do business with the worst automobile insurance companies. Companies that advertise the most are more likely the ones to stay away from. This will be hard because of the Google Ranking pushes the big player up front. Do your work. A lot of attorneys can point you to the current reviews and rankings. Next you should dump your present insurance company every so many years and look for better premiums (assuming you have a good driving record) if it is to your advantage. Don’t stay loyal like I did, it is not worth it. Just note here that if you are a bad driver and have insurance consider yourself lucky. Don’t change until your record improves.

What happened to AAA in the last few years? My son has been on the side of a busy interstate for 90 minutes waiting for a tow truck. An hour ago they were 15 minutes away and now they are 30 minutes away. What a joke! AAA contracts with worthless tow companies who take hours to respond and are further away than local companies. You cannot choose who you have tow or work on your car. We are not renewing and are going with our auto insurance's roadside service. I told the AAA agent with this poor service we would not be renewing and she quipped she wouldn't either if she was me.

I had a car issue at 1030 on a Friday night. 1. Called AAA for a tow at 10:44, toll scheduled for 12. The woman who took my call struggled to read a map and locate me. Seemed to not understand how coordinates work, which seems like the only responsibility of someone who locates people for AAA. She had some weird incorrect phone number for me, which I carefully corrected. 2. I took a nap and waited to call back until 1 because I thought maybe it was a timezone issue (dumb of me). Received no texts or updates.
3. Called at 1:15, on hold for 15 minutes, transferred a bunch of times. Apparently the Tow truck driver showed up to the place next door, didn't see me, and called "me" - completely the wrong number. The woman on the phone was rude to me when I asserted I had not received any calls. A second tow was scheduled for 2:30am. 4. Not happened. I called AAA at 2:41, passed around to like five people, informed me my tow is scheduled for 9am. Why the would they reschedule a tow for 9am without communicating this to the customer after promising one at 230am? So I'm a young woman by myself stranded all night at a gas station. Finally she said they will call me back if they can find another tow for the nighttime. I heard nothing.
5. I started calling AAA at 8:45. They promised a tow would call me around 930. The tow company did call me and promised an ETA of 9:45. When they didn't show up I called AAA again. They said I can expect an ETA of 11. So, I've now been here for over 12 hours absolutely getting the runaround in every possible way. If they weren't going to tow me I could've just hired a different company. Disgusting behavior and I'm surprised this company is still in business.

Tech said the lug nut was left loose and one was damaged. I called AAA at this point and I was led to the department for this kind of situation. I supplied them with pictures and a invoice from the repair shop and they declined the claim. They said they are not at fault. How is this possible. I'm very disappointed how this was handled. All I was looking for the company to stand behind their name. All they did was blow me off.

I have been a AAA member for over 15 years. I have never needed roadside service until the other day. I have been paying yearly membership fees for what I understood to be as they advertise 24 hour roadside assistance. Their 24 hour roadside assistance is a complete sham. I broke down on an extremely busy highway at 8'30pm. I called for a tow and was told the driver would be there at 10:35pm. I call back at 11pm and they tell me they have created another call and a tow would arrive by midnight. Well I call again at 12:05 am and finally get connected to a dispatcher and they state the tow truck driver will arrive now by 1:30am. I'm a patient man but at this point I have lost faith that a tow truck is ever coming. Surprise no tow truck driver arrived at 1:30am.
I make another call and the representative tells me a supervisor will call me back with more information. Now it's 2:30 I demand I speak to a supervisor. This is what the supervisor tells me "I have contacted the tow truck driver and he refuses to come out to tow my car, he will be there at 8am". They then offered me a $30 Lyft voucher to get home and told me to leave my car on the shoulder with the keys in it. The $30 voucher for Lyft was nowhere near enough to get me home. I had to find a family member at 3am in the morning to get me home. I did sleep at all and I received a call from my family member that at 8:15 he drove by and the car was still there.
I call AAA once again and was told the driver would be there soon. 9:30am I'm told by my family the car is still there. I call again and the supervisor said the driver was on his way. The driver arrived at 10:07am, with incorrect information of where he was taking the vehicle and that I wasn't with the vehicle. AAA doesn't provide 24 hour roadside assistance they provide 11 hour roadside assistance and they could careless about you being stranded on a busy highway.
All the many years of giving them my money for "peace of mind" while traveling only to experience the worst customer service I have ever had. I was also promised a manager would contact me about this situation and I have yet to receive that call. Since I have not heard from them I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I'm trying to let others know that 24 hour roadside service is not provided by AAA and if you break down it's on you to get home. They offer $30 Lyft voucher regardless of how far away from home you are. I will never renew my membership again.

Today I had a horrible experience with Triple A and now that I see their overall reviews, this makes perfect sense. I waited hours for a tow service that wasn’t coming because the first person who took my information transcribed my number down wrong. If the driver can’t get in touch with you, they won’t come. I was told I would get text updates and I never did, even when my number was corrected. And the only update that did come through was inaccurate.
My car wasn’t picked up for over four hours when I was told I would have a 75 minute wait. Not to mention the towing company never called to provide updates, so I had no idea when my car was picked up or dropped off and had to continually call Triple A for information. I’m sure they were tired of me calling them after the numerous outreaches, but they literally handled the whole situation entirely improperly and were annoyed and not apologetic. I will be using another service in the future for roadside assistance as this is just not operationally efficient.

I remember a few years ago watching a 30-minute ad for them before the Superbowl. This was obviously not cheap. They do not take responsibility for the damage caused by the towing companies they contract with. A few years ago, I was stuck with about a thousand dollars of damage caused by a AAA contractor. My recent encounter with AAA has left me thoroughly dissatisfied and frustrated. I sought their assistance for towing services, assuming I would receive comprehensive guidance and support. Unfortunately, AAA fell short of even the most basic expectations. Firstly, I was not adequately informed about their policies regarding towing restrictions. It was only after my car needed towing that I was informed, quite abruptly, that because I didn't opt for a AAA-affiliated dealership, I would need to arrange my own towing company. This lack of upfront communication was both surprising and inconvenient, as it left me scrambling to find an alternative solution at short notice.
Moreover, the misinformation didn't end there. When I attempted to clarify the logistics of having my vehicle towed to a specific location, I was given conflicting and incorrect information. I was initially told that my car couldn't be picked up from the same drop-off location where it was originally towed, which turned out to be entirely inaccurate. This led to unnecessary delays and confusion, as my vehicle was first towed to my residence and then subsequently to a dealership several days later.
What struck me most about this experience was the apparent lack of concern for providing accurate and helpful information. It became evident that AAA's primary focus appeared to be on maximizing profit rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. The disregard for clarity and the inconvenience caused highlight a fundamental flaw in their customer service approach.
In conclusion, my interaction with AAA has been nothing short of disappointing. The company's failure to communicate effectively, coupled with their apparent indifference to resolving issues promptly, has severely impacted my perception of their reliability and professionalism. I sincerely hope that AAA takes steps to address these shortcomings to prevent others from encountering similar frustrations in the future.

The service is honestly very overpriced for what you get. At close to $200 a year for two people in my family I literally used it for nothing. I tried the order of insurance and the quote was much higher than what I got and the second time they quoted me the same exact company I already had at a higher price. I tried to book travel through their site and that too was a higher cost than any of the other travel sites that I use. While I do want a roadside assistance I am now coming to feel that going with my car insurance company for roadside assistance is the cheaper way to go. In the past it wasn't like this. It was a good value for the money but that is no longer the case sadly. The final straw for me is upon renewal you have no access to change your membership to a lower level membership without actually calling them. It would be nice if they had an up-to-date technology website that you could do these different tasks.

I have been a member for many years. The service has been progressively worse. For example, when occasionally I needed help by towing it takes hours to come. I had a battery under warranty and they refused to honor the warranty even that I had it in writing.
They look for excuses and they said that they are contractors and cannot accept any warranty discounts. When I call AAA they said that according to the technician it does not need to be replaced only recharged but 2 different serviceman from AAA told me that the battery needs to be replaced. I already took the battery to be recharged and it did not work. After 1 week the car does not start. Updated on 07/19/2024: Didn't give me a full refund either, kept $15 too after wasting my time. What a great company. Good Sam Roadside Assistance have higher IQ's, they said it doesn't matter if your selling or repairing your car as long as it's a certified repair shop. Cheaper membership to talk to logical people and aaa over here denying service you pay for and keeping money they didn't tell you about.
Original Review: This could have been a 5 star review, but unfortunately Cecilia the supervisor I spoke to would rather argue over the phone and lose a member about not towing a disabled car to a certified repair shop because it's going there to be sold instead of being repaired. In the terms and conditions it states to your home or certified repair shop.
If I was bringing it there to be repaired and the repairs are too much that I would rather sell the car to them, are you guys gonna do a follow up phone call? "Hey, what did you end up doing with your car?.. Oh you sold it when you initially brought it to be repaired?.. Yeaa you can't tow your broken down car to a certified repair shop to be sold, no you have to get it repaired because selling it and getting another car to drive on the road and continue to use your membership would pretty much be the same outcome if you were to get the car repaired. Just we care how you're getting to that outcome, and we rather you keep a broken down car that you can't use than assist the member with getting another one."
Thanks for cancelling the membership and issuing the refund because that is really negligible on your guy's part. Roadside assistance is supposed to help you get back on the road, they literally prevented that from happening today. Have a great day Cecilia and just look up the definition of transport, that's exactly what your company is. Transporting disabled vehicles to a certified repair shop which you guys refused to do lol.

Finally, after dark, I no longer felt safe on the side of the road so I had to make the very difficult decision to leave my car with the keys in it unattended for an uncertain amount of time. At 4 am, FOURTEEN HOURS after my initial call they finally picked my car up only to drop it off at the wrong location. They then thought that I should pay $50 for them to correct their mistake. I refused and will tell everyone I know about this awful experience. What a rip-off. We could have called any private towing company and been picked up. Don't waste your money on a membership with AAA. Completely worthless service.

We are physically on a major interstate so my family’s safety is priority number 1. It’s been one hour and no one has shown up and now when I am trying to call AAA for an update I’ve been on hold for 15 minutes! 2. Reliable Service—not anymore! When AAA is contacted for assistance, they frequently promise to send help but fail to deliver, leaving members stranded.
3. Great Resources—not anymore! Although information is available online and printed books are no longer available, the quality and number of hotel listings have significantly decreased.
4. Overall Service Quality—not anymore! This has deteriorated. AAA’s decline in service quality, particularly the lack of incentive for vendors, has led to services becoming slow, expensive, and subpar, which is disappointing.5. Long-term Staff Members—not anymore! Staff turnover has increased. The decline in service is evident as experienced service center employees leave, and AAA hires less experienced replacements.
After 24 years of loyal membership, I am saying goodbye to AAA and representing thousands of disappointed customers.

Then dispatch from Cape way towing called and said it would be three hours, but if I left key they would do unattended tow. Driver arrived on bicycle and said he can't tow vans, they're too big for his bicycle!! Vehicle sat on side of road until Wednesday afternoon. My complaints to managers Kathy and Saul went unheard, they were rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend this business to anyone, Google tow company, look, at reviews, hire accordingly.

AAA really sucks!!! Well I have been a paying PREMIER customer for over three years and never before required service. The one time I called and only needed a battery jumped off, after waiting for three and a half hours in 90+ degree heat, my wife arrived to jump my battery. Of course, she had to drive an hour and a half, one way, after she worked all day, to get to me. When she got there I was soaked with sweat and just wanted to sit in the A/C for a few minutes. Never saw AAA!
By the way, I am 63 years old, but you can't relay the circumstances to a robotic call. Trust me, when you call, you won't talk to a person, you just get a menu to push a button for. The first hour, or so, I would get a robo-call saying I was on the queue. Then the calls stopped and I figured I was forgotten at that point. I will be canceling my membership since it is obviously completely useless and a waste of money. Date of experience: July 08, 2024.

Normally in the past, they will ask if I need a jump. He didn’t so I asked him if he could give me a jump. I know they have the jump start box and it only takes a few minutes...
He told me, "I only came to unlock your door not give you a jump," then he drove off. I have to be at work at 6 am. Courtesy goes a long way. I even would have tipped him. We called a service rep and we told him my Father was in a very large vehicle and to keep that in mind when sending out a tow company. A truck comes out that cannot haul my Father's vehicle. Keeping in mind that he's at the top of a very steep 300 foot drop with practically no breaks.
The tow truck driver says he can't do the job and will let AAA dispatch someone who can. No answer from AAA for 2 hours. Call them for an update and they called my Father saying because the road he broke down on was a county, unmaintained road, they could not tow him from there and that if he could get down the mountain on his own, they'd tow him from there. However, trying to log onto their websites (both SoCal and Nevada) and digital mobile app is useless, since according to their site, my info on record does NOT match my sign-in. Spending more than one hour on hold and being repeatedly transferred to multiple people who hang up after not being able to help with the words of "I am unable to view your information" is beyond frustrating. We called AAA around 8:30 on Saturday 6/22/24 to request a tow to a tire station after my husband got a screw in his front driver's side tire. We were told by the local AAA dispatcher that a tow truck would be at our house within two hours. After waiting for 2 1/2 hours, we called AAA for an update and were told that the tow truck wouldn't be at our house until 1:30pm. Still no tow in sight around that time. We called AAA at 1:45pm for another update and were told that the tow truck company they partner with is short-staffed and that there were about 15 calls to ONE tow driver, which he was addressing. We were given no time estimate and basically encouraged to just keep waiting. The tire shop closed at 5pm that day and wouldn't reopen until Monday, which would have caused my husband to miss work that day.
We also had plans ruined on Saturday due to waiting around the entire day for a tow! We finally gave up on AAA and decided to call a local tow truck and pay a fee. That tow company said it happens all the time with AAA. This is absolutely unacceptable service to paying AAA members! First, maybe AAA needs to partner with more than one tow company to assist their members on busy traffic weekends. Not only that, but the excuses that dispatchers continued to make (i.e. short-staffed, 15 other calls) didn't help the matter. It should be first come, first serve. We had called at 8:30am that morning and other calls were prioritized ahead of ours and their time estimates were so wrong. Not only that, AAA should have been reaching out to us with regular updates as well as offers to make things right for us so we weren't left wondering and waiting for 8 hours!
It's a good thing that my husband wasn't stranded somewhere on the side of the road in the middle of the night. I would hope AAA would respond quicker in such situations, but I don't trust them. No one from AAA even called to follow up with us once we cancelled the tow request hours later. This is just not how AAA should be treating paying members. If you pride yourself for years on providing roadside assistance, towing services, etc. you MUST improve in this area. We will likely cancel AAA.

I have always gotten AAA batteries because naturally when it goes suddenly and unexpectedly the easiest thing is to have them come to you and replace it right there. The last battery they gave me is dead after 8 months, there is supposed to be a 3 year warranty. When I called them out to replace it today I get told once the tech arrives the battery must read between 10 and 14 volts to get it for free. I have never heard of that until the guy showed up today. Of course the battery which was absolutely shot only read 3 volts even after being charged at the service shop.
I called AAA customer service and the woman who answered was an idiot and thought that 3 volts was a good reading and I could just have it charged back to full use. I asked for a supervisor and it was another woman who was just as dumb. What possible sense would it make to give me a free new battery on a battery that still had valid life left in it but not if the battery is completely shot? Worst customer service and company in general. I purchased AAA roadside assistance 2 years ago. Halfway into the 2nd year, out of nowhere, I received a letter from AAA stating that my membership was being cancelled for "failure to provide verification for all associates on membership." I have no idea what they're talking about. What verification, to whom and when? I've never failed to provide anything that was asked of me, nor would I. To have issues with your vehicle and need tow service is very stressful. To pay for a service and be cancelled for using it or for some frivolous word salad reason adds insult to injury. And if that's not enough, their service is not that great to begin with. 4th of July 2022, they left me stranded overnight because they couldn't even get service to me in Anna, Texas. I only hate I didn't cancel them then. AAA cancelled my membership 1/2 way through, but made no mention of refunding me for the other half of the year.
Based on these facts, I can only conclude that AAA only wants drivers to purchase a membership, but for heaven's sakes, DON'T use it! AAA Roadside is not the company I thought it was and judging by all of the other 1-star reviews, I know that I made a grave error in thinking AAA was a solid company that engaged in fair business practices. I want nothing further to do with this company, roadside assistance or otherwise, except for a refund and to be removed from their junk mail list. How dare they cancel my paid membership but continue to crowd my mailbox with their unwanted junk solicitations. This is yet another indication of the poor management of this company. We have used their insurance with no issues in the past and so when we moved to a new state, we thought we would give them a try again. The auto was higher than our current insurance, but the house was less, so it balanced out to a savings. We paid for the year on the house policy and 6 months on the auto (maximum allowed) only to be notified by email about 5 weeks later that our house policy was being terminated because they couldn't get in our gate (I told the agent we had a gate and that I would need advance notice when they were coming, but apparently they came over and never notified me).
I couldn't get a hold of "our" agent, but the one I was able to get in touch with said that she would request a new visit- then the next day, I got another email stating that our policy was cancelled effective in 14 days. Thankfully, we found another company (that actually ended up being less expensive & has a good reputation). So, after 20 plus years of loyalty- we bid you good riddance, AAA.

Have been a AAA Customer for almost a decade and constantly find reasons for why I should cancel my service with them - today was the final straw. 1. When I first subscribed to AAA, I had just moved and one was near my home. It seemed like a good opportunity to sign up just in case I needed a tow or was locked out of my car. I even started taking my vehicle there for service. Unfortunately, I ran into some issues where the mechanics and front desk managers were running up the total and trying to upsell me on services that were not necessary for my vehicles. The final straw for services was two incidents that happened the same week.
I ran into a situation where I dropped off both of my vehicles for service (one for a simple oil change, the other for a more serious issue). I had suspicions that technicians were being a bit sketchy, so I put a sharpie mark on my oil filter before taking my '16 Honda in for the oil change. When I picked that car up, the oil filter had not been changed.
Additionally, my Subaru was there for other mechanical issues. They told me the car would require over $15,000 worth of work for it run safely. I declined the work, called three other mechanics who all quoted the same work for 1/2 of the price. The one I ended up taking the car to even told me that the car only needed 1/3 of the work done in the first place. That was 5 years ago and I am still driving that same Subaru with no issues. After those incidents, I stopped taking my car to them for service.
2. I decided to keep the subscription for the towing. It was minimal and not a big inconvenience. Well I recently had a break down and the AAA customer service and tow truck driver(s) I had the displeasure of working with made the entire situation worse. I tried calling in the past and was told to use their app, so I went through the app and was told my tow truck driver would arrive within 30 minutes. 30 minutes goes by and the app says the driver has arrived, but there was no truck.
I then receive a text from AAA, with a link to their website, saying the driver is en route, 30-40 minutes. No big deal, I was expecting to wait at least an hour anyways. 45 minutes go by and I check the the link again, still says 30-40 minutes. I just figure the app might be broken, the tow truck driver is probably running a bit behind due to traffic or something. Wait another 30 minutes, still says 30-40 minutes. At this point I call AAA Customer Service. I calmly explain the situation and I am told the driver is a bit behind, another hour, they'll be there. I patiently wait another hour, again trying to give some time for traffic, or other issues the driver may be having, they never show up.
At this point, it has been 2 1/2 hours and I call AAA again. I get another customer service rep, who puts me on hold, and tells me the driver is an hour away. I reluctantly accepted this and expressed my frustration with the app, this website link AAA sent me to track my driver, and the unavailability of the truck, are more inconvenience than the subscription is worth. The AAA customer service rep asked me to wait while they tried to find another driver and put me on hold. They pick back up and find another driver who can be there in an 1:30 to 2:00 hours. I am in an unfamiliar area, traveling for work, and don't have a clue who else I could call so I agreed to wait.
I went back inside and finished work for the day and lo and behold, 2 hours later, no one has come to pick up my car. I check the app and the website link for tracking my driver & it now reads "Thank you for working with us". I called back customer service again, asked where the driver was, and another rep told me they are behind it would be another hour. In total I waited nearly 5 hours for a tow that never happened.

I had to eventually be added to her membership and I asked if I could have a refund due to me having a free promotion through my phone carrier. Once this membership runs out. I will never use AAA AGAIN.
The communication is horrible. I then received a call of them telling me they could not send anyone per management after they took my money. I explained to the girl, "I paid." She says, "Let me check." She checked and said, "My apologies." I waited 2 hrs for service. The way this company works is horrible. Never again! Thankfully people were so kind where I was located. Willing to help. I said, "No, I paid. I want them to fix it."

A technician messaged me around 3:50PM saying I'm on my way and sent a link to show his progress to me. Unfortunately, what used to be a good company with reliable service is close to "no service at all". Last summer we called when our battery died. We were told that they couldn't service us because we were presently in Mass. and we lived in CT???? Today the battery died on our second car. The battery is 4 years old. I told them I needed the battery checked and replaced if necessary, and that a jump start wouldn't help me. The call person replied, "No problem - will have someone there within the hour to check and replace the battery."
An hour later an automated robot called to tell us that a person to jump the car was on the way but that they could not check or replace the battery. It also told us we had to put in a second service call the next morning to see if we could possibly be accommodated. We have been members for 30 years now but every time we call it's a runaround and we either have to fix it ourselves or call someone else to fix or tow the car. Am I just being a fool by staying with them?

My vehicle's serpentine belt broke while across town. I was still able to make it within 3 blocks of my house, when my vehicle stopped working. I used AAA app and ordered a tow truck to take it to my mechanic. I was kept updated via text on where I was in the queue, who my driver was, and when he’d arrive. It did take approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours, which was fine with me, because I was able to be in the comfort of my own home while I waited.
The reason it took so long is because the night before we had a massive hail storm (golf ball to baseball-sized hail) and thousands of people had their vehicles towed. The tow truck driver Manuel was amazing! He called when he was on his way, he explained everything thoroughly, he had my vehicle hooked up within minutes, and sent pictures when he dropped it off. Beware, AAA will happily take your money annually for a Premium Plan and NOT provide service when it is needed most. Further, each and every customer service representative and supervisor told me whatever came into their minds without a care for the truth simply to get me off the phone. I have been sitting on the side of a dangerous road for SEVEN (7) HOURS, YES 7-HOURS! Each person I spoke with told me to expect a tow truck within 20-min, then 90-min from 4:50 pm until 11:30 pm. And every time those hours passed, I was told they were working on getting someone out to assist me, that they only had 2 companies they worked with in my area and neither of those companies were available, but they would escalate the order and try to find someone else outside my area. Or, I could call a tow company myself, pay the fee and submit a receipt for reimbursement.
BTW, NOT FULL reimbursement, just partial based on some mysterious figure that AAA refused to provide when repeatedly asked. Now I'm being given an appointment with a different tow company for tomorrow at 8:30 am; however, that company is open 24-hrs, and they begin their mornings at 7:00 am. I called to put in a request for a flat tire. I was advised by two separate employees to do two different course of actions. 1 action was to have them put on a tire for me. 2. Action was to get towed. I put in a request to help me put the tire on. I was broken down on 146 heading northbound in RI. There was heavy traffic where I was broken down and we were in someone's driveway blocking them from getting in. I waited two hours to get any notice about a tow. And still I was kept waiting. I then canceled that request after being advised that the spare tire I had [donut] would likely not be sufficient for the 41 mile traverse to Southcoast ma. I requested a tow. I was told they would see what they could do. 2 more hours went by and still they didn't have any answers for me or tows. At this point we had been waiting for 4 hours for any roadside service.
In this time I decided to take matters in my own hands and search for a video on YouTube on how to change a tire. In the time it took them to reach back out to me I researched how to change a tire. Learned how to change a tire. Changed the tire and started to drive back home on the donut spare I had. In that whole time I received 5 calls from various triple AAA service agents who asked me my name and where I was. Each of them putting In what seemed like a new request. As if the first request was never placed. They kept asking me where I was and my number. It honestly felt like a fever dream and like I was in another dimension. I don't understand the lack of awareness surrounding my location when I placed the first request online and they had my location and I told several service agents my location. And still each one had taken my name number and location down.
I put on the request at 1pm and didn't have any word back about service until about 6pm. Which was after I had to perform the task myself. It was dangerous for me to be traveling back with the donut tire for as long as I did and I had to drive in the right lane all the way back to 140 from 146. I had to have my hazards on and drove 45 miles an hour all the way back which posed several threats to my safety. None of which would've happened if I was provided a tow when I had requested the tow.
They finally called me back with confirmation of a tow coming when I was 10 mins away from my house. In which I declined and told them it was too late and that I found a video on YouTube and installed the tire myself and left. The service rep proceeded to try to put me on hold yet again to put in a "cancelation request" in which I told her she could handle that on her own and that I didn't need to be on the phone for that as the triple AAA team had me waiting for 6 hours already.
I didn't feel that I should waste my time any further. Not only did I not receive roadside assistance when I needed it but I literally taught myself how to do what it was that I was asking them to do at the beginning which was change my tire, in the time it took them to even get back to me with any word on a tow, I received horrible service. Not having a singe triple AAA employee remember any of the details I told them like my name. Where I was. My phone number. How many passengers I was with and what service I needed was beyond infuriating. Where to start, first experience was with a tow for a flat tire. Happened in a gas station pulling away from the pump. Tire went flat, found out the valve stem cracked. Didn’t drive the car more than 50 feet. Tow driver gets there, loads it up. I’m about 50 miles from home with no knowledge of the area so they suggest I take it to a AAA service center for discounted repairs. I agree. Next morning I get a call that they can’t repair the tire it must be replaced. Bear in mind these tires are almost new, less than 2000 miles on them. Additionally the clown at the service desk tells me that since they can’t match the tire that needs to be replaced (Michelin) they should all be replaced (2000 miles on them). I took a spare wheel/ tire to the facility to replace it myself and was told that I could not do it on their property and that if I continued they would call the police.
I had NJ Manufacturers tow the car to my local repair shop where they replaced the valve and said the tire is absolutely fine. 2nd experience- I lose my brakes on a major highway, call AAA for a tow at 5:50 pm, give them all my info and they tell me they’re going to red flag it because I’m in a dangerous situation. At 7:10 I get a text telling me that my estimated arrival time for the tow service is 8:10, 2 hours and 20 minutes after I placed my call. Done with AAA. Cancelled my renewal. I should have heeded the reviews and you should too.

DO NOT GO WITH AAA!!!! I went to the AAA office in Frisco Texas a few months ago and wanted to pay off the rest of my membership for the year. The representative told me that I'm not able to do that unless I cancel my current membership and restart a brand new one. So I did that, and incidentally lost my tenure, and went ahead and paid for a full year upfront as well as for my in-laws. Later, I found out that the representative failed to tie my membership number to my Insurance policy and it never renewed because of that. I was canceled and was told that if we would have been in a car accident, they would not have covered me, my wife, or my daughter. So I reinstated it immediately to be legal on the road (my daughter was literally driving in that moment of the phone call), but they told me that they would have to charge me for the first 2 months even though they hadn't covered me!
I've spoken to many supervisors, including the one in Frisco, and they're refusing to fix the issue. Now they are saying that they would've covered me just to justify stealing my money. They continue to apologize but don't give any kind of resolution. Now I'm trying to cancel, but they want an extra $500+. So I'm kind of stuck right now. As soon as I pay this off, I'm never going back to AAA again. They're legally stealing from me and I'm getting the worst customer service I've ever had. He said everything was much too tight and was unable to remove the flat tire. When we called AAA, they opened a claim, told us to not move or touch the car for 5-7 days until they could get an adjuster to come out and confirm our story?
They also refused to tow us the additional two miles to the tire shop to see if they can remove the stripped bolt that was caused by the AAA technician. The AAA was rude, dismissive, and unaccountable for anything we said and acted as if we were making it up. So disappointing. When I meet my car one of the coils got stuck on The tow hook and I called Triple A and she said, "We can't help you with the mattress. We can only tow you," and I say the mattress is not that big but it's stuck on something underneath. It just needs to be pulled out. It should only take 2 minutes. I said it really doesn't need to be get towed to a garage and then she said it will take 3 hours for somebody to get there and I've never had that long of a time, in the last 35 years. So a guy pulled into the gas station. Asked for his help and he helped me unhook it and took about 2 minutes. Very poor service from triple-a.

I am very perplexed. Something near and dear to my heart has been taken away from me. Something that I have taken care of and cherished for 30 years. Something that I have refurbished to look like a new truck. Yes, my 1994 Dodge Dakota SLT pick up. It so happened that a company that I have been a member of for almost 35 years, AAA Roadside Assistance, has damaged my classic 1994 Dakota PU through their negligence, and now says quote, "It's not our problem".
I realize that the tow truck company they sent is a private contractor and hired and endorsed by AAA. The accident that the tow truck had with my truck up on the back of it was caused from the tow truck driver running a red light and hitting another vehicle so hard that it ripped the straps attached to the PU's rear axle apart like they were paper, and my PU crashed into the safety bar behind the cab also damaging the cab of the tow truck. The truck was traveling at a high rate of speed and probably accelerating to make the light when it collided with the other vehicle to cause so much damage. I need a new hood, right quarter panel, bumper, radiator, and who knows what else. The Tow truck insurance wants to total the truck, pay me only $3800 and call it a day. What am I going to do? I tried BBB and they are a JOKE. I'm truly depressed. I will never trust AAA Roadside assistance to send their chosen tow truck company to move my vehicle again.

Keeping promises to customers is a hallmark of American businesses. So when I receive a written promise for a noon appointment two days hence, yet when arriving 10 minutes early, I'm told I would have to wait an hour and a half for my oil change. Obviously a few walk-ins took precedent over a promised appointment. I'm not sure about AAA but I don't have the time nor patience to be put off for 90 minutes because of a sloppily run operation (Hazard Avenue, Enfield CT). Get it together AAA because this is how you lose business!!!!

Early the other day, I discovered that my car, which was in our community parking area, had a flat tire. My wife and I have been AAA members for many years, and roadside service is supposedly one of the free benefits. I called the toll-free number and was told that someone would be showing up in about an hour. Nobody ever arrived, so I called AAA again, about two hours after my original call. The representative who picked up said she would look into the status of my request, but my call was disconnected while I was on hold.
I then called a third time, talking to yet another representative, who informed me that, because of our address, my request should have gone to a different AAA service area. She did not explain what that meant, what could be done about it, or what had become of my request for service. Shame on AAA for not taking action for letting me know that there had been a problem. Membership is a complete waste of money, and we will not be renewing ours!

Then the driver called immediately after and advised he would be arriving in one hour and 5 minutes. Meanwhile the application consistently stated 0.0 mins before arrival. What am I paying for?

Not sure if I have to click 1 star, but take thst to mean 0 stars, can't get it to erase. Negligent, apathetic and borderline criminal behavior from this company. I got amazing response from a tow truck company (they have nothing to do with this review, the toe company had compassion and were competent. Proved I could trust them after losing all my faith because of the lack of service received from multiple AAA employees, supervisors included.
Flat tire, waiting off the interstate. First employee seemed dumb but enough IQ to help, got a supposed tow truck on the way after 20 minutes on the phone. Tow driver calls us (again this is not their fault, it is AAA!) And we try and share location and he's saying locations and landmarks we have no clue about and same to him. This was because we were in Georgia, Vermont and the tow truck was dispatched from the STATE of Georgia despite Vermont not being near Georgia certainly not for anything urgent. Now you may think, simple mistake, it happens. However, the employee, Keena/Kina was the name, had already found our location and had mentioned the 2 nearest gas stations off of our exit. I confirmed it off using my app and they confirmed other roads around is too.
If drivers could be in a life or death situation, waiting off the interstate is certainly not the safest place and I honestly cry for those who have been abused by AAA in even worse situations!! Why are their systems using location and finding a local towing company so easy to fail? The lady we spoke with was "halfway across the world!" According to her! That's not an immediate problem if they accurately use GPS/Maps to find someone. I fear it could easily turn a life/death situation into a death situation- we didn't have the 16-digit AAA number on us so it took ~3 minutes before we were even given the chance to speak with an employee.
AAA employees are those who have enough braincells to breathe and speak. Nothing more. And they're apathetic. I wouldn't mind speaking to someone who didn't know things if they were genuine, cared etc. Our call had already been escalated to urgent by so why did they dispatch a tow truck to us who was probably 1,000 miles away? Your life could be in AAA's hands, I pray it never is though. I already have PTSD and I'm still feeling the zoom and rumble of car for the hours we were stuck on the side as the cars in the interstate zoomed past us. This was the tip of the iceberg. No fault to the first tow truck driver in Georgia, to be clear he was given faulty dispatch instructions and we actually began laughing as we realized he wasn't even in the same US state!
The 2nd employee offered more nonsense, we called again and requested a supervisor. The first supervisor just transferred us (however IDK if this was their fault or they legit couldn't help us do I don't fault the female supervisor. I forgot the name.) Finally, Tyler the last supervisor we spoke with was much better and finally got us connected to a tow company who helped us (opposite of our experience with AAA, night and day.) So Tyler was fine, I'll give the entire star of review to him, gave 5 star service and 0 for AAA as a whole. Yes AAA eventually fixed my problem but no one in an urgent situation, stranded off an interstate should have to realize the tow truck "on the way" was a thousand miles away in a different state. Glad we all could laugh once we realized the mishap.
AAA is in dire need to improve their customer service. They're almost like 911 in that their customers could be in dangerous situations as I was in today. It wasn't completely dangerous but I did not feel safe. I write this review out of spite for AAA, yes, but mostly as a sad warning. Your life does not matter to AAA, if you have any alternatives I would please consider them if possible. I understand a lot of people sadly depend on this company.

Today, my longstanding trust in AAA’s service was significantly undermined. As a Plus member, I expected reliable and prompt service when I urgently needed a battery replacement. Instead, what I experienced was a series of letdowns that left me without a vehicle for the entire day. First, after waiting for a couple of hours, the technician arrived unprepared and informed me that he did not have the necessary equipment to replace a battery (specifically, he doesn't carry batteries!). When I reached out to customer service, they assured me another technician would be dispatched immediately.
Unfortunately, this too fell through, as the second technician contacted me past the scheduled arrival time to inform me that the service would need to wait until the next day because this type of job takes a while. Let me note, I didn't call them in the middle of the night. This all began very early in the afternoon, with the second tech calling a few minutes past 4:00 PM, so no reason as to why this needed to be delayed a day.
This lack of service reliability and poor communication is not what I expect from a membership that I have invested in for nearly two decades, especially when it comes with an additional premium for enhanced services. I called and canceled my membership. I want to share my experience to highlight the importance of accountability in customer service. We subscribe to these services for peace of mind and support in times of need. Today, that was not delivered.

I called AAA of Georgia at around 8 p.m. on March 24, 2024, for road service due to a flat tire, but it took 15 hours for the service to arrive. During three or four phone calls during the night, I was told service was going to be sent, but then received text messages saying there was a delay. A dispatcher finally told me no one was available and it would be sometime after 6:30 a.m. before anyone was dispatched. Service arrived around 11 a.m., after more phone calls. After sleeping in my car on a gravel road in a national forest overnight, I also had begun phoning towing/road service companies directly. One owner told me AAA Georgia now has abysmal service because most towing companies will not work for it due to its refusal to pay reasonable fees to them. He said some people have waited two or three days for service after less urgent calls, such as dead batteries at home.
I eventually arranged for a towing company to help me, but AAA finally showed up first. The misrepresentations were the worst part. There never was going to be anyone sent to help me overnight. If AAA had been straightforward, I could have obtained service from someone else. But as a member of AAA for most of the past 45 years, I initially believed it would do what it is supposed to do. If AAA just wants to peddle insurance and collect commissions for selling fancy vacation packages, it should stop claiming to provide emergency road service. I give AAA Georgia minus 1 million stars, although I cannot transmit this form unless I check at least one star.

Terrible service. A few months ago, our car had a dead battery. We were home and the car was in our driveway. We called AAA and it took 10 hours before they finally showed up at about 10:30 PM. We were annoyed, but since we were home, we didn't get overly upset. Last night, I got a flat on the Florida TPKE at about 8:45 PM. I am 80 years old and I was alone. I got off the TPKE and pulled into a gas station. I contact AAA and gave my location and cell phone. No one called. I got a message update saying, "We will update you." I tried calling them but no one answered although I followed all the prompts. My husband arrived, but no news from AAA. After 1 1/2 hrs, my husband asked a man to change my tire which he was kind enough to do. I tried to contact AAA to cancel the request for assistance, but again, no one answered the phone!
At 11:00 PM, someone called. I told them that we have paid AAA for 57 years and that this service is terrible and unacceptable. How long should I wait at a gas station at night. They never said when they would come. Is it reasonable to wait 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours? This is not service! This is a frightening experience. Do not use AAA in Florida.

They tell me not to worry tow should be there within the hour and they will send notifications to my phone regularly. An hour goes by not one notification or tow truck. I call them a second time and their excuse was "we are sorry something happened and the dispatch never called the tow", so they put the order in again. Another hour goes by still no tow, no jumper cables, no notifications. I start asking others in parking lot for jumper cables. This is my response to AAA for a roadside service call for a dead battery. Well to be honest, my experience was very disappointing. I am not in California; I am located in New Mexico. I guess all out of California calls go to a call center in southern California, then get transferred to the according state where the customer is. So, I called that number, and the California agent said they would transfer me to the New Mexico team. That’s great, the problem is the New Mexico team never answered the phone. The first call I was on hold for 16 minutes. I thought, this can’t be right, so I hung up and called again. Same thing, I was on hold for 15 minutes this time. The recorded message said they were sending me a link to a virtual agent, but I wasn’t receiving them. After sitting for about 50 minutes wondering what I was going to do now, I finally did receive a link to the virtual agent. About 45 minutes later the service vehicle arrived.
After getting the jump start, the service tech tested my alternator and starter. He told me they were both bad and needed to be replaced (car has 60K miles on it). The next day I took the car to a shop to make arrangements for the repairs, they told me there’s nothing wrong with the alternator or starter. They both tested great. Hmmm, I thought. So, I took it to a second shop, they said the same thing, alternator and starter are fine. So now I’ll have to question any advice from an AAA tech. I’m shopping around for options for roadside service now. I will be posting this on Google as well.

I have kept my membership because the convenience of having help with my car at home has always been consistent, but also in case of emergencies like my situation on 3/24/2024. I called and spoke to a representative at 7:30pm. My car wouldn’t start and I was on the shoulder of a turnpike about 95miles from home. I was told that it would cost me about $450 out of pocket to tow my car to home, which I approved.
I received a text telling me a wrecker would be to me by 9:33pm. I called twice, once around 8:30pm and again at 9:30pm, both automated services told me wrecker would be to me by 9:33 pm. When no one showed up by 9:35 I called and spoke to a representative again. I was told that a wrecker had not been sent out to me bc it was going to cost me an out of pocket fee. After holding for 15 min, and agreeing to the out of pocket expense for the second time, I was told a wrecker would be sent to me in 30 min. Severe storms were heading my way, cars driving by at 85 mph in the dark, and I had been waiting over two hours.

In a post Covid world, 2024, do people just not care about anything anymore or are we breeding an age of incompetency? Had a doctor appointment this morning at Toledo Hospital. Came out at 10:30 am to valet saying that the Jeep wouldn't start. Went down and sure enough, nothing. At 11:00 am, Made a AAA request on the app for roadside. After 45 minutes, it said they were here. They weren't. I called and gave them my phone number for the driver. It's a Michigan number so area code is 734. They even read it back, ensuring they had the correct number. They said "Actually, the driver has an est arrival of 12:04." "Okay no problem, Please have them call me." No call ever received.
Called back at 12:11. AAA said the number they had given the driver started with 473 NOT 734. So they sent a driver to the wrong location AND gave him the wrong number. So what did AAA do? They cancelled the tow/service call. All they had to do was make a few clicks on the computer to make sure they had the number right. But why would they do that? It just makes too much sense.
So, they dispatch another vehicle to the CORRECT location and take my number down. After giving them the height clearance of the garage, my exact location and everything I get a call from the AAA tow driver Tony saying that he's not gonna be able to get down there because his truck, a flatbed, is too big!!! Instead, he wants to try jumping it with a jump pack. I tell him it's more than likely the starter but he insists. He gets here and of course, it's the starter. He calls AAA, twice, the calls get dropped. Finally, he gets through and gets a wrecker "ALLEGEDLY" dispatched. Well, over an hour later and I'm still here. Almost 4 hours now. I texted Tony the AAA driver that came out and asked if he had any updates on that wrecker. He said "I'm off work now it's out of my hands, sorry for the inconvenience." WHAT???? Thanks for nothing, Tony.
At 2 pm I call AAA again. They put me through to an "advocate" who puts me on hold for 20 mins. Comes back on the line and says "They're looking for a truck to get you." I said "What do you mean looking, as in, they haven't sent someone out yet?" He said, "No, most places don't have wheel lifts and the ones that do, the drivers are off work." I asked, "How long do I have to wait now?" His response, "I don't know, we're looking for a driver...." Thanks AAA.
What the hell is the point of paying an annual or monthly fee for roadside service if you don't get any roadside service? AAA has got to be the biggest scam in the "service" providing world I have ever seen. I finally get towed out at 3:00 PM. FOUR HOURS after the original request for service went out. Big thank you to DAN AT PJS TOWING. He made me laugh the whole way to the shop. Great guy and will be using them for my tows from now on. Got a nice, vintage car? I did. Here's a tip. If you ever get stuck with a dead battery that has Immobilized your car, locking up your wheels and shifter in the Palm Beach Bradley Place Publix parking lot, please, whatever you do, don't call the formerly venerable AAA Roadside Assistance for a tow, and just say no when the 2nd Kauff's flatbed car shows up 26 hrs. later to pick your car up when they were explicitly told to bring a smaller tow truck that only used wheel dollies.
When Kauff's did come 30 hrs. after my first 12noon call on Thursday this morning, they actually picked up someone else's identical 2008 Black Bentley Convertible first woman had also left hers unlocked, with her keys, actually in her ignition and took it to "Foreign Affairs," instead of my identical vehicle w notes for tow guys and PB Police on it. What are the odds of that?
When Kauff's Towing came back to correct the mistake that I had alerted them to, this is what they did to my car around 2 pm today when Kauff's finally dropped it off as orig instructed 26 hrs earlier, and repeatedly thereafter in several phn calls with AAA Roadside agents to Dave Overturf at "Foreign Affairs" out on Military Trail South of Okeechobee.
Financially, it's Kauff's Towing and AAA Roadside Assistance responsibility to cover all repairs exclusively by the Bentley body shop, so no $ exposure for me. Guess, it was just "my turn in "The Tank" this week! Unbelievable. Avoid AAA Roadside Assistance Service, and Kauff's Towing, like the plague unless you think this is a good look. It's not. Trust me on this one. They both really s*ck!! My "Foreign Affairs", Service Mgr Guy, Dave Overturf, on the other hand is a "Service Prince" and I highly recommend if you have a Bentley, Mercedes or BMW car that needs serious service. Big time. — at Foreign Affairs Auto. Off Military Trail, just South of Okeechobee in W. Palm Beach.

A representative told me around 12am that the several representatives I had already spoken to told me someone was coming to tow me lied. She said those exact words that they lied. So the police I called for my door being dented eventually got a wrecker truck to tow my car. I understand it being late at night it would be difficult finding help, but the fact they said they were coming and literally lied is ridiculous. I have been a loyal member of AAA for the past 14 years and have seen their services decline sharply. Today I required a tow only to realize you can't speak to an actual person. All communication is conducted through texting and automated voice messages. It took this pathetic company 2 hours to inform me that I was in the queue and more information would follow. That never happened! I was forced to take action and resolve the situation on my own. Thank goodness I'm resourceful and mechanically inclined. I was able to get myself back on the road without the assistance of AAA in about 4 hours.
This company is not to be trusted or relied upon! If I could assign a negative number to this review, I would. Needless to say, I'm canceling my membership and will seek a competent company who respects and responds to its clientele with "real people" when they're in most need. Every single time I heard “this is weird, there is a CC on file, autopay is setup, but the system didn’t take a payment”. To hear this it takes about 3 hours on the phone!!!! Now I find out they cancelled my motorcycle policy 2 weeks after I made a $412 payment 5/23/23 on the phone. The payment was for the whole year. I called today to make sure I had coverage being it's middle of winter and found out about cancellation. No notice received here all year!!! They claim they refunded the money.... Checked both CC, debit cards, and bank accounts!!!! No refund!!!
AAA keeps giving me the runaround. 20 minute wait to hear I need another department, that department for motorcycles says he can’t tell me when, how, or how much I was refunded. He sends me to another department with another 30 minute wait and she claims she can’t help me. I have to wait until tomorrow and talk to the same people she just sent me to!!! Tried to explain to her if they can’t help me and you can’t help me who can???? Yesterday, I had a horrible experience with AAA. I have been a AAA roadside subscriber for many years. I can't recall the last time I called AAA for assistance, but yesterday I got a flat tire about a mile from my house. I called AAA at 9:34 p.m. for assistance to replace the flat tire with my spare tire. I was informed that someone would come and change the tire between then and 11:34 p.m. I received a text message that a driver would arrive to replace my tire. However, until 11:38 p.m., no one came, and I was stranded on the roadside in frigid cold weather for over two hours.
When I called AAA again, a person named Jane was rude and told me that no subcontracting service provider had accepted the request so far. She said that she would update me later when someone accepts. When I insisted on knowing how much time it would take, she was still rude and said that she didn't know and could not provide me with a time frame.
I drove to my house with a flat tire, and after midnight, at 12:06, a service provider driver called me and said that he would come and fix my tire. I told him that I had driven to my house and gave him my house address, requesting him to come and change my tire. The driver, after verifying my address, said he would arrive in 30 minutes but came after 1 hour and told me that he didn't have the tool to change my tire. I live in Richmond, VA, the main city, not a remote rural place. I will try to see if I can file a legal case against fraudulent AAA business practices swindling money from customers.

After waiting another 2 hours stranded on the side of the road, we called for an update to find out that AAA cancelled the service without notifying us and told us they would not assist and we could try again tomorrow. Inadequate support and empathy from AAA agents led to a traumatic experience. The lack of communication regarding my premier membership's towing limit resulted in me being misled by a nearby shop. Their refusal to release my car and the coercive tactics used while I was on the phone with AAA left me feeling vulnerable and unsupported. The dismissive attitude of Laura and Elizabeth, along with a sexist incident, further compounded the distress. I am deeply disappointed by the behavior of AAA's auto shop partners. The failure to clearly communicate the towing limit has led to additional expenses and an unsafe experience in an unfamiliar city.
Consequently, my parents and 6 siblings and I have decided not to renew our memberships and join direct competitors. We are unwilling to pay for a premium membership that lacks support, empathy, and leaves us stranded without resources, despite relying on the membership. Our out-of-pocket expenses have not been justified, and we see no benefit in maintaining a AAA membership. The organization, which we counted on, completely let us down and advocated for their untrustworthy, sexist partner auto shop instead.

This is probably been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had dealing with any company that provides roadside assistance to begin. The initial time that the call was first placed was at 11:19 PM. We’ve had to call numerous times to try to figure out any information of what’s going on. We were not notified that a provider canceled the first request and every time we’ve called back to check on the progress of what’s going on, we’re being told the notes are being updated. There’s no solution being given and we’re due to sit here until a provider can be dispatched. They say it’s high volume but then they say that they’re working on it so I’m not really sure if they truly understand what they’re doing or what they’re making people deal with. I’ve always thought AAA was a top rated company but at this point they’re not doing anything to help anybody if they’re just gonna give them a runaround....

I have been a loyal AAA member for over 20 years. It is clear that AAA does not value their customers based on my recent experience. The latch of my car hood was stuck shut so I had to be towed (after the AAA tech tried to get it open). When I got my car back, the interior plastic hood release handle was snapped into a bunch of pieces and left all over the floor. The handle was intact when I tried it. SO, something had to have happened to it when the AAA technician was working on it.
I submitted a damage claim and AAA denied it saying that they could not PROVE that their technician broke it. Well it was working before and he is the only one who touched it so I think that is proof enough. Do you think that a tech is going to admit to his garage that he broke something and have to pay for it? No, of course not. I expected AAA to cover the damage since I used a shop that THEY endorse but even after speaking to a manager, was still denied. So I called for service, "someone" broke my car, and now I have to pay to fix it. Absolutely ridiculous. As for the technician, integrity is doing the right thing even when nobody is watching! I called AAA at 9:30 PM and talked to a person who told me that I would be called by one of their providers to come to assist me.
After 30 minutes, no one had called me, so I called again, and the automated system first said that I was going to be assisted in 149 minutes (2 hours and 29 minutes). I started to find another solution when AAA called to say that I was going to be assisted in 26 minutes, and then in 19 minutes. No one showed up. It was 11:22 PM, I called AAA and the agent put me on hold, then came back to tell me that the providers were not answering, and she needed to make another request.
I had been waiting that long, and it was 11:34 PM, so I told her that I could not wait two or three more hours. She got really upset, did not let me talk, and hung up on me. I called again and explained the situation to another agent; I had been waiting for a long time, it was cold and raining, and it was about midnight, and no one had assisted me. She escalated the request, and finally, a provider that was 35 minutes away from me called. In the meantime, my husband decided to find jumper cables to come and help me. Unbelievable. When I first signed up for this service 10 years ago, it was reliable. However, in the past few years their service has faltered greatly. In January 2019, the polar vortex hit Wisconsin with wind chills of -55 below zero. My truck died on on the side of the road on my way home from work, 5 miles from home. I used their mobile app to request a tow and said I was not in a safe place, on the side of the road in arctic temps but someone had to be with the truck. ETA was 45 minutes to an hour. That ETA passed and I was freezing, and thankfully my daughter was able to come and wait with me.. There were no updates on the app. I decide to call.. They claim it was not in the system. I "refile" the claim and receive a new eta of 2 hours, if memory serves me correctly, despite not being in a safe location.
Last winter I had a flat tire, again on a very cold night, not as dangerouly cold. At least I was able to stay warm because I was able to keep my car running. I was given an eta of 1 hour, but they kept pushing the eta out. I think tow companies won't prioritize AAA calls because they are not being fairly compensated by the company. I had gotten off of work at midnight and finally made it home at 5 am. My commute is 15 to 20 minutes. Last spring I called for a tow for my car to be taken in because the manual clutch was failing. I called on a Tuesday evening and it was finally picked up Wednesday afternoon. My daughter, AAA forced to wait with her vehicle when it broke down in a dangerous heat wave. I don't recall how long that wait was. They also recently canceled a tow to a garage on my daughter, because they couldn't find a tow company willing to take her. Because the car was in a safe location, her driveway..
They told her she would have to arrange her own tow. She asked if she would be reimbursed. The answer... Maybe, but no guarantees. I jokingly suggested to push it in the street so it would not be in a safe location anymore. The tow drivers that do eventually show up have always been great and I have no gripe with them. They are just following their dispatch orders. However, I am done paying for this subpar service. I would rather pay a tow truck company directly. Yes it will probably be expensive...but my time is worth more.

They simply do not provide the services they say they will. Roadside Assistance is supposed to be 24/7. Flat tire on my spouse's commute and they quoted a response time will be 12 hours. It is 6:30p they quoted 6:30a response. That is not 24/7, that is daytime roadside assistance. Meanwhile my spouse is out changing their own tire. I pay for this roadside assistance so that doesn't happen. They fail big time. Thieves!
