My battery was dead on a cold night in September. I called AAA and was told we used all of our calls and that the service for charging the battery was going to be close to $80.00. I told them that this was ridiculous and I would figure it out on my own. I thought my son had used the calls. A near stranger went out of his way to help me. The fact is I was stuck in a parking lot with 3 girls in my car waiting for this NICE man to help me. He had to go home to get his cables. It turns out I HAD ALL OF MY SERVICE LEFT and that the lady on the phone had made a mistake.

I put in a complaint with AAA. Every time I called back afterwards...I was put on hold and passed around for an hour at a time. There was only an apology in a letter. No effort for compensation for my trouble. No, "we apologize...we will give a discount for next year." There was none of that. I paid for a year service and got nothing but stuck outside when I needed them. The 1 time I called...they failed me.

I joined AAA elite for $118.00. My Audi Q5 engine seized in Boston and I had a local garage look at it. I took the bus back to my home in NH. The local garage couldn't fix it. I called AAA to tow the car back to NH. It is a 97 mile tow and the elite AAA claims to have a free tow of 200 miles. This is not the case. I needed to be with the car, which would require a bus fare back to Boston, and pay mileage on the tow IF they chose to approve it. I also needed to take the bus back to NH, I couldn't ride in the truck. "It's a long tow, you need to pay the driver."

I also had joined AAA 3 days prior and needed to wait a 1-2 week waiting period before they would review it. I was on hold for over an hour and the claim agent insisted the case number I was given was non existent. Absolutely appalling customer service and agents are trained to say "NO," instead of "How can I help you in your time of need?" When I asked to cancel, the response was "No Problem, I'll send you over to CS," that took another 30 minutes and when I asked for the confirmation number of my cancellation, I was told "we don't give them, or your application fee of $14.95 back, You should see a credit in a week or two. "DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. IT'S A SCAM!

AAA said 1.5 hours. The company they sent, El Camino Towing from Rosharon, said they were late for traffic. Two hours later, they told us they were dropping off another car first. Three hours later they still weren’t here. We called at 5:30 pm when it was still light. By 9:30; it was dark and we could see coyotes running around. It was too late to call anyone else or walk 2 miles to a hotel. This negligence in making us believe a tow truck was coming sooner put our lives in danger. Awful; after 23 years, we are cancelling AAA.

I got a flat tire yesterday at 7:45am on a major interstate in Atlanta. Highway 285. Anyone who is familiar with ATL knows this is one of the worst highways regarding traffic during morning rush hour. However, I was able to pull off an exit into a safe parking lot of a restaurant. I called AAA at 7:45am and after going through the automated system and waiting on hold for forever. By the time I got off the phone it was then 8:30am. I was told someone could be there by 9:45am. 9:45am comes and goes and no one showed up or called so I call back and ask where a technician is and AAA tells me someone will be there by 10:30am. I say "but someone was supposed to be here already at 9:45am." AAA then rudely tells me "No I just said 10:30am. No one said 9:45am." And then she just hung up on me.

Luckily, I had already told my boyfriend about the situation and he took off from work, drove 30 minutes out of the way to come and change my tire. A technician/service contractor NEVER called me so I would have just been sitting out there all day calling AAA begging for someone to do their job. Even if they showed up by 10:30am (which they didn’t!). It is ridiculous to have to wait 3+ hours for a service I pay yearly to show respect and do their job. Needless to say, I will be canceling AAA. They do not value their customers money, time or safety.

I renewed my subscription and 2 days later changed my mind. Well, I called to cancel and they don’t cancel, OR refund. First call, they told me “they don’t refund”. But would have someone call me back... 10 days later... Second call, they assured me that “they DO refund money” but they were member retention and NOT Member services and that someone would call me back. 10 days later... Third call, back to the old “we don’t refund”. Because it is passed the 10 day buyers remorse timeframe. (But if they didn’t drop the call for 20 days it wouldn’t be.) Oh. And then it changed to “only new customers can cancel” so your only option is to remain a customer. I found out that my insurance company offers the same coverage and it costs me $3.00 a month.

My SUV battery died, was a AAA member, called them and they sold me their best battery - $175 worth, has a 3 yr warranty. I had it 1 yr. 3 mos. and it died - bad cell. I called AAA, they sent out a company that tested it. They told me it was too dead to test. He was at my house 1.5 hrs. trying to charge it as my car was running the entire time. He tested it again; said it was basically inconclusive. He took the battery out of the car, told me to buy a charger and charge it to max, call AAA back to test it again.

In the meantime, I talked to a couple ppl who said to take battery to NAPA and have it tested, so I did. I got a print out that said 'bad cell'. I called AAA back, they said because the guy took the battery out of the vehicle the warranty was VOID. WHAT? But it was their people who took out the battery! The guy at AAA told me that information was not recorded in the notes and that the battery tested good... I asked him to send the same company back out to my house because he said the battery was not charged enough for an accurate test and took it out! AAA said it was going to be a cash charge. The guy came back out; said he didn't know that the warranty was void by taking the battery out. I showed him the ticket that the battery has a dead cell. He wouldn't accept that - said it was not his test. Bottom line - AAA does not warranty their batteries!!! I will never have AAA again and will do my best to tell everyone I know about this experience.

I cancelled my Triple A policy due to the fact they raised my annual rate by 1000 dollars and I'm a good clean driver with no accidents, claims or tickets! They had already drafted my payment the day before I cancelled. I've been in the phone with several different people and just keep being told it'll be returned to me by check form and within the last 48 hours nobody has even touched my account to start this process. I'm told I may have to wait 1-2 weeks to receive my refund! This has been a huge problem for me since this payment shouldn't have posted to begin with and overdrew my bank account.

I've asked for them to expedite the process of either overnight or 2nd day and was told they're unable to do that. I also asked why they just cannot issue the refund to the card it was taken off of! I was told then because it wasn't the same business day! After this horrible experience of just trying to get my money back I would never recommend this company to anyone at all. You cannot speak to anyone other than customer service. I asked several times to speak to someone in accounts department and of upper management and was told they don't deal with customers! It's so sad that a big company can be no caring and trying to rectify the problem a little faster! By far the worst I've ever had to deal with!!!

Had a flat tire and requested road service after 10 pm. Waited 90 mins for service. Road service guy arrived, changed tire with my spare. I drove off but the car felt as if I had another flat tire. Pulled over to next exit and when I looked I only had 1 bolt holding the tire to the rim. Another road service call; another long wait. Second service guy finds that the tire is connect with only 1 bolt! Other stems are bent and/or broken off. He took off 2 bolts from other tires so he can tow car onto rack. I had to call AAA road service again to tow the car to my mechanic.

This is call #3 in 2 days. Called AAA the next day to file complaint and process for repairs. Was told must be called back to start the process and I won't be called for 7-10 business days!! On day 11, I called AAA and was told by Membership Experience that they have been too busy to call me back. Then proceeded to tell me that a Damage Specialist will call back in 2 business days. Damage Specialist will determine damage and determine fault. So now, we are out of a car for almost 3 weeks. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Can't seem to escalate complaint because there's no manager or higher that I can speak to. "They don't talk to customers". And if I write to the Regional Manager, the complaint gets routed back to Membership Experience.

I have noticed lately that calling AAA has gotten worse in the past few years. When a person needs a tow they really don't want to be hassled or argued with. The experience that I had tonight with AAA was unbelievable. The woman that answered my call for my husband being broke down on the way with 1% cell battery was the most unprofessional that I think I've ever dealt with.

At the start of the call I explained that my husband didn't have a cell so I was calling in for him. She took over 10 minutes to look up the account and tell me that she couldnt find me or him - after being 9 year members... Whatever it was that she was doing wrong she finally said that she could dispatch a tow truck- 14 minutes into the call.

She was saying "oh my god" and sighing real loud when finally I told her that I didn't need her to be giving me a hard time! Long story short, she put me on hold and someone else pick up who played dumb and I had to start all over again with my member number. Unbelievable! AAA is not what it used to be. We will be shopping for a new roadside assistance company.

We have been with AAA for 30 or more years, most of the time needed jump start battery, flat tires etc. Until this year when we needed to get the car towed to the dealer at about 15-20 miles away, called AAA and flatbed was sent, driver would not drop the car off at the dealer but insisted that I follow him with another car. At the final drop off point the towing driver wanted to get paid either cash or check, needless to say, I did not have enough cash to pay, he followed me to the bank to get the cash. AAA never informed us that Towing companies contracted by AAA do not accept credit or debit cards. We will never sign up for membership anymore. It is more expensive than it is worth it. Our insurance company offer same benefits for fraction of AAA membership.

Poor communication between call-in agent and dispatch; grossly inaccurate ETA on arrival of help to unlock our vehicle (waited extra hour alone in secluded area with small child); and contracted vendor(s) (why was the closest service provider 3 cities away?) who said AAA didn't send them the proper paperwork and tried to charge me extra $50 are the reasons for 2 stars and near failing grade.

I contacted AAA for a routine roadside change of a flat tire. I have the Gold Plus membership. When the agent for AAA showed up he did not change the tire but inserted a plug, without informing me that there would be a charge. Before he did this I explained to him that I had a warranty on the tires from Walmart. If I had known that there was a charge I would have insisted on the tire change only, and taken the tire to Walmart for free repair.

When I explained the situation to AAA customer service I got the "typical run-around," "We don't cover this service, you will have to take your complaint to the vendor that performed the service." I did not contact the vendor, I contacted AAA, and AAA needs to be responsible for the conduct of its vendors. Apparently AAA does not agree. My conclusion, AAA cannot be trusted!

After being a member for the past 10 years, that membership could be coming to a close. October 21, 2017 my car developed a flat tire. After getting it off of the street and in a safe place I proceeded to contact AAA of Arizona. After 45 minutes of being told how busy they were and maybe I should call back at another time. Remember this is a flat tire and I am not going anywhere. After I getting a person on the phone and describing the situation I was advised that someone would be there within the hour. After no one came I called in again. Yep another 30 minutes being told how busy they were and I should call back later I was able to talk to a person.

This person told me no one would be coming for one to two hours. I advised her of what the previous person said. She put me on hold and returned 20 minutes later to confirm one to two hours would be the soonest anyone would be there. This is for a flat tire change and I am off the road in a safe place. What would this look like if I was along the highway somewhere. I can only surmise AAA is trying to go out of business and I am will to assist them by canceling all my insurance and roadside service membership. While one customer has very little effect on a business, one customer letting other customers know what to expect may make a difference.

I took my 2011 Jetta to Auto Solutions in Mesquite Texas recommended by AAA. Once taking it Dustin stated they wanted to inspect the car to make sure they would be repairing the correct issue. I get a call and all of sudden they notice an oil leak. I have never had an oil leak on car since owning it and explained that. He stated they didn't want it to get too bad and recommend the oil gasket be replaced before creating a better problem along with the control arms. I allowed the repairs to be done since AAA stood behind company. After, getting the car back notice it has an oil leak. I called and explained before I didn't see any oil now I do. The guy stated to bring it back and they stated it was oil gasket in which it could be because the pan. I took it back for the repair and this time was told to place a cardboard box under the car to watch.

The oil was still leaking and emailed AAA several times for help. Once doing that I waited over a week and no response from AAA after several attempts. I called the 800 number and was told my email got lost in translation. I was told someone would call me back in two days. Well after two days no one called and called them back. I was able to speak with a gentleman that placed the report in but again had to wait for someone to contact me back. Again not called back and I called and requested the person's name that would be handling the issue. It was explained the guy's name was Milton. I was given his direct number and he didn't contact me. He called the shop. They then explain bring the car back and please if there is a continuing issue allow them to take care of it without the involvement basically of AAA. I also spoke with Milton and was told if this repair didn't go right call him back and he would personally assist the guys by looking at the Jetta.

I got the car back and guess what small drops of oil and the company saying it was something else creating the leak. It was the vacuum hose and they sealed the issue. I tried call Milton back and I got his voice mail leaving a message how I was happy they sealed anything because it didn't care of the problem. They also was quick to tell me the issue of an oil leak and not wanting to get worse but actually created one and wanted to seal it. I never got a call back from him either. The car was fine before they touched it besides the issue I took it there for. I do not trust mechanics because every time a car is taken to them it's about the money not the principle of taking care of the customer.

The 52 promotion ONLY covers the basic coverage which means they will only tow up to 3 miles vs the AAA plus which tows up to 100 miles. This is false advertising, plain and simple. But I can't put any of that criticism on the AAA folks who helped me last night. The phone rep was polite and concerned, and the driver got there in no time and sent me on my way, saying he could hook the car by himself easily enough. If there was ANY flaw, it was that the driver actually got there much SOONER than the agent's prediction. Which is the sort of flaw I'd like to experience more of. Top drawer all the way.

The first week of April I paid in advance for a rental car for mid September. I live in Florida and reserved two cabins in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I flew in on the red eye, spent the night at my son's in Massachusetts, then went to the Fall River, MA Hertz rental center the next morning to get my car and caravan with my 4 kids and grandchildren to the cabins. Hertz was not open. Three others were also waiting for cars that they had reserved. When they were 45 min late opening we all decided we should go somewhere else. I was told that they opened their doors 1 1/2 hrs late that day.

I had my whole family waiting and reservations and no idea if the place was going to open so I followed the rest and went hunting for a car. I called the nearest AAA office to report what had happened and request a refund. After several calls and emailing documents I was told I would have to come into the office because they couldn't print my emails from my cell phone. After our holiday in the mountains I went into the office. After being there for over an hour they discovered that I was from Florida and said I have to go to the Florida office. I told them I rented a car in MA for my vacation and they assumed that I lived in MA also.

It didn't occur to them that I don't vacation at home where I have my own car and that I may actually be from out of town. I called my hometown AAA and was told that because I rented a car through AAA online they cannot help me. I was told to talk to Hertz. Hertz is ignoring me. Customer service said they will review the case and email me their response. It's now 2 1/2 weeks since the day I first contacted AAA about not getting the car I paid for 6 months ago that I rented through them. They want me to renew my long time membership this month. I don't see that happening. Just try this. Go to AAA online and try to contact someone without intent to purchase. They will talk to you if you're buying something but if you have a problem they don't want to hear about it.

It was around 7pm on a Sat night. Car would not start. Sound like battery was dead. Called AAA. Went thru promos. Said I needed battery assistance. Scheduled for 1 hour. At about that time driver called and said he would be another hour. When he didn't show up I called. He said 40 more minutes. Only to find out he did not replace battery. He would give jumpstart. To where?? There is nothing open. He said the area was not making enough money to do battery replacement. I had waited more than 2 hours. I called AAA and spoke with their resolution department. This women had no resolution. She said battery replacement is only 7am to 7pm. She said the tow truck driver did not know what he was talking about. Unless I lived in an area where there was "no" battery replacement.

So what I learned is that I was sold a policy that I've had for at least 10 years that states "Battery replacement" and I have used that service before. But all of a sudden things have changed without my knowledge. I now know that the area I live in which is 30 min south of Daytona Beach isn't large enough to offer battery replacement. But yet Mrs Resolution says yes. If between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm. Which is it?? I will call Monday an attempt to find out the answer. Meanwhile I have requested tow with State Farm to auto store to get new battery Sunday morning. I will be cancelling AAA. Nothing is worse than an organization that large not respecting their own rules and regulations.

The associate helping me stated since it was an unsafe zone the truck would be prioritized to come tow immediately within 45 minutes. I have been waiting for 2 hours and 36 minutes as vehicles have flown by at 70-80 mph. I called AAA three times to see where the truck was, the associate said the order was cancelled and they hung up. While calling back again I was placed on hold and transferred to the incorrect spot 4 times. Not only am I still waiting on hold and still on the interstate, the associate then charged me an extra $80 for the service when PREMIUM MEMBERS HAVE UNLIMITED SERVICE! This is unacceptable and AAA will be losing every single one of my 19 family members' premium service.

I had a battery that died on me. It was still under AAA warranty that I bought from almost 3 years ago. The first technician came and I didn't remember his name. He told me that the battery test results showed the battery was good. I did not believe it. So I left my vehicle running for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes of idling, I drove to CVS to get something. As I returned to my vehicle and I learned that it won't start. I called AAA again. The guy from AAA named Mohammed came and took a battery test. He showed that the results said the battery was good but except for one thing: battery cell rating. It was bad.

He told me that it was no good. So he asked me for my warranty papers, in which I had in my vehicle, he reviewed and told me that I'm eligible for a new battery. So he replaced it. His customer service skills were great - he was funny and calm at same time. From last Friday, my vehicle has been operating normally. I wish to thank Mohammed from AAA for actually identifying the real problem. I am glad that I am on AAA membership.

My teenager daughter called me in a panic while driving my car. She had a complete flat, the car was undrivable and she didn't know what to do. My wife and I have AAA coverage. I located my AAA card and proceeded to call the Roadside Assistance number from my mobile phone. Instead of an operator, it routed me through several menu options (during which time I have to remove the phone from my ear and locate the keypad) until I could finally wait for an operator. So wait I did. For 15 minutes.

Once the operator came on, I explained what happened, and they asked if I was driving the car. No, it's my teenage daughter, I replied. She asked her name, which I gave. "Oh, she's not on your policy, would you like to add her today?" On top of that her English was poor and she was difficult to understand. Are you kidding me? My teenage daughter borrowed my car, and AAA won't help her because she's not an AAA customer, even though both her parents are? By now I've wasted 20 minutes, so I called my insurance provider, who offers towing on our policy. They were professional, courteous and prompt. But it took an hour to get a tow since my initial call. Should have called my agent first! Goodbye AAA, I'm cancelling our membership and will not renew. I needed you once and you were no help.

I called AAA, and they were so nice and promised me assistance would be there in 20 minutes. I told the dispatcher the street I was on and that I would be standing next to my green Yaris waiting. 30 minutes later, I call again. I get a different dispatcher who tells me the driver was at the farmers market and did not see a member, so he left.? I told her that I am NOT at the farmers market! I gave her the street name and the major road 1/2 block south of me. She promises she'd sent another truck. Another 15 minutes goes by and no truck. I call AGAIN and AGAIN am told the truck couldn't find me at the farmers market. (?) I again repeat my location and she told me she would put a Rush on it.

Another 15 minutes goes by and I call again and ask the woman, "NO ONE is showing up!" Then the woman tells me "Well, you didn't tell me what building you were in front of!" I told her that I was on a residential street and that I was in front of homes and gave her the number of the house I was standing near. So... after 70 minutes a truck finally shows up. He told me he was told to go to the Farmers Market. He didn't see anyone so he called the dispatchers back who gave them (finally) my real location. What the??? Why did they send 4 trucks to the farmers market when I was not there?!

Customer service is gone with AAA. I do not trust them any longer. I am sorry that I just renewed, too, so I am shopping for other services and will cancel my AAA. The policeman on site had us a tow truck within 30 minutes. I will not renew my membership and will never do business with AAA. Furthermore, I will request a refund of my 2017 membership Fee. There are hundreds of complaints by people that have had the same issue with towing response times so it appears this is the type of low level service that AAA provides. The one time I needed them they failed me - the app would not even work and they could not provide a tow truck. I needed to move it off the road and in the driveway because the road is very narrow and Hurricane Irma (Tropical Storm when it hit us) came through our area yesterday and the grass along the side of the road was too soft to drag it with a winch there. Under AAA's Membership Guide it states under Option 2 for towing, "You may be towed to a destination you select within the first three (3) miles of the disablement (at no charge). Plus and Plus/RV Members receive up to 100 miles free towing." Since I'm a Plus Member, I should be eligible for up to 100 miles. I wasn't asking for much to move my vehicle 10 feet.

Recently I became a AAA Autoclub Silver card holder member. (100 miles tow.) First they tell me I can't use it for 7 days. The website states "if you use the membership the day you get it, it will be a $35 non-refundable charge" So thats fine. I'll pay the $35. But no... They tell me that only works if you do it the EXACT same day you bought it... I had tried to use it the very next day. So they say they will only do 3 miles and I had to pay $3 per mile for extra miles. So I needed the tow and the extra would cost me $63.

So I said fine. When the driver gets there (which was the only good part about this whole experience) he suggests to see if there are any recalls on the car that may be free to fix. (The ignition and steering wheel was locked.) There were recalls on the ignition, so he suggested to take it to the dealer (that was not my original destination). So that was only 3 miles away so the tow was covered.

Now the dealer had the car and fixes the original issue because there were recalls... But now they tell me I need a starter and they want $450. Well I don't have that so I call AAA back for another tow to one of their authorized mechanics. Now I'm told that they won't tow the car from the dealer and take it to another shop. The man literally said "AAA is not for your convenience because you don't want to pay the dealer $450 to fix it. They have the car, they can fix it." So basically what he told me was they won't tow the car at all. So I'm paying for a membership and AAA delegates how you can use it??? If I have it towed from shop to shop to shop... thats my business. If I use all my tows for the entire year on one week... thats my business. AAA is a joke!!! Don't waste your money. I called for help to get a JUMPSTART on my DODGE CHARGER and they sent an independent person with a portable battery that was no larger than a lawn mower battery and it was dead on arrival. His battery was dead and could not start my car. Rather than admit it, he said it was my starter of just 10k miles. I repeatedly asked him if he was sure. He stated over and over that he knew for a fact the trouble was my starter, rather than my battery. I sent him on his way and called for another "roadside service".

AAA sent the same one lonely, careless and inadequately trained person that towed my car, unnecessarily to a Dodge dealer. They kept it two days and called to tell me it was in fact my battery. My existing battery was still under warranty and could have gotten it replaced for a few dollars. I had to rent a car for two days from Enterprise and AAA told me that it was not covered and it was MY LOSS. I told them that I was a victim of fraud from AAA and they didn't care. I ended up paying about $400.00 because of incompetence of AAA because they could have sent me on my way and I could have gotten the battery replaced for just a few dollars.

It has been almost three days and AAA nor the tow truck company has contacted me. I called twice to and made a recorded complaint and got a complaint number. I'm not sure they even made a complaint. So I, recently contacted AAA for a jump and they sent out some guy who looked like he had no idea what he was doing from some back woods car shop (not actually from AAA). So he pulls out this questionable looking jumper pack and tells me to get in and start the car when he says so. So he pops the hood and says start it up. When I do he jumps back like the car is on fire, the car starts he snatches his cables off, jumps in his truck and pulls off. As I'm going down the road I realize that my speedometer isn't working, so I try my radio and nothing, try my A/C nothing, my wipers won't work or my headlights. So I take it to a shop to find out what's going on. He says that my control module is blown after 2 hrs and $150. He asked if I had any electrical problems and I tell him no. Then he asks the million dollar question “have you had your car jumped recently?”. “Why yes sir about 3 hours ago.”

That's when he informs me that my battery post was scorched and that if a car is jumped wrong that it can blow the control module. Then he hits me with I can probably get one for $1,000 and then it has to be flashed for around another $600 and $100/hr to be replaced. So I call AAA and they act oh so concerned telling me that if I get it fixed then they will reimburse me after collecting all the change in the couch. I inform Dave from AAA that I didn't have almost $2,000 just laying around. So he says “Let me see what I can do”.

After two weeks of back and forth he tells me "Well the guy from the shop says he used a polarity pack and they can't be put on wrong", so I ask him "Have you personally seen this so called pack" and he says “NO”. I say “Well I have and ummmm that jumper pack had duct tape on it sir”. He then goes on to tell me that there is nothing that he can do about it because the guy said that the pack can't be hooked up wrong. So the moral of the story is that AAA does not value its customers and that I will no longer be a member. I will also be taking AAA to court because someone is paying for my car. The guy from AAA's name is Dave so if you get him just know that he'll give you the run around but he won't help you at all.

Then you can apply for reimbursement. When AAA says they are busy, it's likely it's because AAA calls are very low priority. I've waited over 2 hours already with still no estimated time for service. A local AAA provider estimated they could be here in 10 to 15 minutes. I'm near the center of a major city, the capital of California.

Worst customer service experience ever! Left my husband stranded in the dark in 100+ degree weather for over 2 hours when his motorcycle broke down. Called AAA and 4 different customer service representatives. Advised him to upgrade our Plus membership to include RV/Motorcycle. Representatives tried to upgrade the membership for him over the phone but were unable to. Told him to upgrade online or through the app on his phone, call back, and someone would be dispatched. Upgraded online and called back to be told that someone was dispatched. Called back after no one showed up and then informed there is a 4 day waiting period after upgrading membership. Spoke with a supervisor and asked where I could find the terms and conditions that document a 4 day waiting period.

The supervisor could not find the documentation anywhere. I printed off the terms and conditions of my contract and it does not indicate a 4 day waiting period anywhere within the document. The supervisor refused to dispatch despite not being able to find the documentation about a waiting period and told me I would just have to file a complaint. I asked for an address to the corporate office so I could write a letter and the supervisor advised me the corporate office does not have an address. My husband ended up walking the motorcycle home in 100+ degree weather. Do not waste your money on AAA because they will leave you stranded when you call for service!

Today, I hopped out of my car and accidentally locked it, with my keys, purse, and cell phone inside. I was at a Goodwill Donation Center with a car full of boxes. Luckily, a very nice guy working at the donation center called AAA for me. It was about 2:30 on a beautiful Saturday in a suburb of Buffalo NY. I have been an AAA member for 32 years, and have come to expect service delays on a typical winter day. However, the wait is usually less than estimated. Today, estimate was 90 minutes, and the truck pulled in at 90"!! Driver was apologetic for delay because it was "busy." I don't buy that. It was an AAA truck, probably from the fairly new AAA service center. I was obviously LOW priority even though I am a long time GOLD member. Unfortunately I just renewed my membership. For the last time!!

After two hours I changed the tire myself in 91 degree weather and about two hours later someone from AAA called to see if I needed help. I file a complaint with AAA auto road service and as of today three days later no one has called me to let me know what happened as to why they did not show up. About two years ago my wife had a problem with her car and it took them about four hours to show up. The phone number for AAA is 800-222-4357. If I had to rate them on a scale of 1 to 5 it would be a negative 5.

I had this company for 1 year. When I moved I updated my address information with their representatives twice to make sure they have it. I made automatic payments for the insurance so they got MY payment ON time. Now, when time came to renew my insurance I found it was renewed automatically and they charged me now twice the price of what I was charged before, and it did too come as automatic withdrawal from my bank account. I was softly speaking surprised and I called the company. What I found out was: they sent me a new contract with the "new" quote to the old address despite the fact that I renewed my address with them. They never notified my by email which they use for the promotion of their "product" of service.

The ONLY reason they increased my insurance was the fact that they found out via some oil changing company I used my current odometer reading and decided to increase the rate because I drive more than they would like me to and they also didn't like the new area I lived in as their computer algorithm system rates it as more "trafficky". That's it. So, next day on August 2nd I sat with their local office representative who shrug her shoulders as she was unable to change the price. I found another insurance and called back same day to that same representative to cancel AAA. The representative was ready to do it, she stated that I will receive the refund within 7-10 business days.

Next day I called this representative again to make sure she did cancel my insurance policy with AAA. I guess even this wasn't enough for my personal peace of mind and I called again the 1-800 number to make SURE the insurance is cancelled. I received verbal confirmation among with a new piece of information that my refund was supposed to come in 10-15 business days! The time passes by and checked my PO box. There was no check BUT there was a letter from AAA happily describing my new policy for the next year, generated and mailed out on August 8! I called the company and I believe I sounded slightly surprised again!!!

The representative stated the check was sent on the 7th because it may take them sometimes to sent that long, he stated I should receive the refund by Tuesday August the 22nd the last. The check was sent from the neighbor city of the same California state. I have no clue is to WHY it takes already MORE than 2 weeks to fly in the mail!!! I haven't received it on Tuesday, nor Wednesday, nor next day... I absolutely hate businesses like AAA scam, they simply hold and use your money, that's what it is. They sure enough take your money automatically, but when it comes for them to pay you back they lie, they give false reassurances, they mislead you with every bit of information... And... just call us back... if you don't receive it.

The service representative told me that it would take about 45 min. This happened last Saturday around 4:30 in the afternoon. Initially waited about 1.5hrs with no signs of tow truck. Called back and was told that it would take another 1. Got the first seconds text message at 7:28 indicating a service technician was dispatched. 7:08 pm got a third message now indicating that it would be till 8 pm now. And 7:29 got fourth text indicating that it now changed to 8:44.

Called multiple times and the reason was that they were behind on schedule. Finally around 9 pm tow truck show up. I waited more than four 4hrs to get picked up. I wish they would have been honest with me at front and told me that it would take over 4hrs. I could have gone shopping or better yet ran over to get some tool to fix the car on the road. Worst experience ever. I now regret to have switched back to AAA.

The next guy came out and would only test the battery! I told him the battery was fine, it's the engine that wasnt working. He said he only checks batteries and mine was fine. I then took it to my local gas station. He opened the hood and immediately saw the problem. There is a plug to the air flow that is in front of the battery. The plug was unplugged! Once plugged in, the car miraculously functioned normally. AAA caused the problem and took NO responsibility for causing the problem. I've been a member for 20+ years. This is the last year. They also told me I could try to jumpstart the car but if that didn't work we could tow. I said okay. About 30 min. later a guy shows up in a multi colored Pathfinder with a jumper cable battery, asks me to start the car. When I attempt to, he heard a noise, says I need a tow, jumps in his car and drives away. This year I renewed my membership with AAA and added Motorcycle and RV towing for an extra fee. The first time about four months ago, I called for a tow from my house to the Harley Dealer. They sent me a motorcycle tow truck which was perfect. When the bike was done a few days later, I called for a tow from the Harley dealer, back to my home, they sent a flat bed. Once the driver got to my home and started to loosen the straps on the bike, he didn't do them evenly and dropped the bike on its side. I was furious, luckily, it didn't damage the paint, but it was scuffed. I didn't call in on him as he said he was a new driver, and didn't have too much experience loading motorcycles.

The second time I called for a tow, was about two weeks ago, about 12 midnight the bike had stopped a few blocks from my home. I called in and the representative told me the tow truck driver would be there in an hour and 15 minutes. I asked "Was this for the motorcycle tow truck," and she said "It's for the flat bed, that's what we use for our motorcycles." I told her that there was a motorcycle tow truck that AAA sent and she said "I have no idea what you're talking about," I told her to check my history. She insisted I didn't know what I was talking about. She said Beltran towing didn't have that truck, I explained to her that they had picked up the bike before from my home. After getting nowhere with her I asked if there was any way they could send someone sooner for safety reasons, she said call the police and they can sit with me.

I ended up getting help without AAA assistance and canceled the tow. Just this weekend, I called for a motorcycle tow truck, to driver pulled up, I greeted him, he gets out of the truck, and as he lets the backdown, he says, "I don't know how to load motorcycles." Here we go again, I called AAA Sunday morning to speak to a customer service representative that tells me their drivers are well trained to tow motorcycles, I said think again.

That Saturday night the dispatch of the tow yard Shaun had called to tell me the ETA of the driver, and once the driver left with towing to motorcycle, I called him back and told him his driver said he didn't know how to tow a motorcycle, he said "Oh my apologies." I'm paying all this extra money every year and these people can only tow cars, come on AAA get some well trained and qualified drivers or stop charging us extra.

See what it seems they do is dispatch it out, a company picks it up and keeps ahold of it while he takes more profitable calls, once he slows down then he will report to your location. Today I made a call to bring a couple of concerns to Triple A's attention. The first call I will get to in a moment but it's the second called that I'm more concerned with because I feel this customer service representative was incredibly rude. Her name is Paige and the phone call was made at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Once I voiced my complaint about the previous call and asked to have it resolved, instead of apologizing for the mistake of the previous employee or showing any kind of understanding or remorse, Paige decides to condescendingly correct me and make it seemed as if I did something wrong.

In my initial concern one of the things that I asked for was to get a refund because I felt that the previous representative was dishonest. Instead of saying I would be happy to void that payment for you, she says something along the lines of "if you cancel it you're just not going to be covered after September 1st". She was very indifferent, noncaring, wasn't even the least bit concerned with the dishonesty of the previous representative I spoke with. I called her out on it as you'll hear in the phone call and I reiterated what I wanted done. Then she tells me "I'm going to contact that call center and see if they can put a void on that payment". This was also the wrong thing to say considering AAA's refund policy. So she said the word "if" knowing that she had no choice but to honor my refund request.

Then she put me on hold for 5 or 6 minutes without getting on the line letting me know that she's still in the process of resolving it. She then gets back on the line and says that the original representative I spoke with voided the payment and that it would be back in my account in 3 to 5 business days. I then ask her first name again. She said Paige and then I said "ok bye." Then she says in an insincere yet robust happy voice "THANK YOU SO MUCH AAA". It felt like a backhanded compliment. No empathy or apology whatsoever. No attempt to elicit a positive response from me whatsoever. Just a dry vindictive customer service experience.

Prior to speaking to Paige I spoke with another representative whose name I don't remember. The call was at 2:22 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and it was with a gentleman. I brought up two concerns first of which was to remove the auto-renewal and I made it clear that I was doing this because "I can't afford to renew this month". He told me that he removed it and then I asked him very specifically "if I am able to extend my membership by upgrading my membership like last time". He seemed to understand me and said yes "it will just be $26 and some change more".

To be clear the question I asked was related to when I previously upgraded my membership from basic to a plus last year. When I upgraded they also extended the expiration date to the day I upgraded. If you listen to the phone call you will hear this gentleman stating that it is just $26 more. Nowhere in the phone call does he state the full price of $127 (+change) like a company is supposed to do when taking someone's credit card information over the phone. Essentially he was dishonest by omission. He didn't verify the amount or ask for my approval. He just charged the card. As a result of these two interactions I will never do business with AAA again. It looks like my good old fashion car insurance company will have to do!

What town are you in?" I was 5 miles from the nearest town. She couldn't help me. Got switched to another rep. Told him I wanted road side assistance to change the tire. He offered a tow truck. Why do you think you can't buy one as an option when you buy the coach.

AAA policy won't let you buy one from a recovery truck because "they don't know where it came from"???. After talking to member services about their policy that literally handcuffs the stranded motorist, they said they will review their policy. Don't hold your breath... Just cancel your membership. Well, AAA didn't show up for over an hour and then I was told that the AAA tow trucks were not allowed to cross state lines or something like that, so I would be towed to Verdi, NV, (which makes no sense because obviously it was across the state line), where another tow truck would be there to tow me the rest of the way. I get to Verdi, there is no tow truck so I wait for about 20 min and decide to call them. For the first time my car broke down twice this week and when I called AAA for Roadside Assistance since my car was blocking a major intersection, I was told their "Rush Roadside Assistance" will take 2.5 hours! Why label it "rush" if I have to wait 2 hours??? I called them several times to follow up and they kept saying the same lame script of an excuse: we don't have enough tow truck drivers, our tow truck drivers picked up priority cases first. I was in the middle of an intersection blocking traffic and that's not a priority? Finally I called a different towing company to tow my car to the repair shop.

Today my car broke down again and they're making me wait 2+ hours for a tow truck! Why? They gave me the same script. I called customer service and I get someone with low IQ who made me hold on the phone for 10 minutes and just passed me to someone's voicemail. Please save yourself the trouble and skip AAA. I don't know what we're paying them for. Look for service somewhere else.

In 2016 I renewed and upgraded my AAA membership to a Plus Membership with automatic renewal through my bank account. This March 2017 they did not auto renew and canceled my membership and sent me a letter stating the cancellation. I called and paid over the phone and renewed the plus membership and made sure it was set up for Auto renew as they told me the local office had not set it up. Today is July 18, 2017. I call the road side assistance to get a tow. The man states I only have Basic service and can only get towed 3 miles. I told him, "No. I paid for plus and have the card in my hand that shows I have a Plus Membership." He proceeds to tell me I got online and canceled the plus membership on May 16th. I calmly explained to him that that was not possible as I was in Ireland on a trip I booked through them and did not have access to a computer as well as I have nor set up an online account.

He told me the money was refunded to me. I check my back account while in the phone with him. No. I was not refunded any money. Then he told me it was added as a credit to my AAA account. I told him again I did not authorize this and asked him why it was done and who did it. He then told me it was done because of the cancellation in March. I asked him why when I paid for the Plus Membership and renewed it in March as soon as I got the letter. He then told me I would have to talk to the local office when they were open after trying to get a straight answer from him for 20 minutes. As soon as I mentioned that this looks like fraud to me, the customer service agent then put the credit back toward my membership and put it back to the Plus Membership I originally paid for.

Something fishy is up here! They downgraded my membership with no notice to me and kept my money. Why? Do they really need the interest that bad? Maybe they do! Showing assets I guess?! I don't know. I have only used their road side assistance once in 2011 for a dead battery in my driveway. I got a jump and was on my way. Meanwhile, It is 7:30 pm and my husband is broke down on the side of the highway in the middle of the Oregon desert in the heat waiting for a tow truck he had to pay out of pocket. I am Way beyond disappointed. Yes BBB will hear from me and probably a few other "officials" no matter the explanation the people at local office give when I go there tomorrow.

July 2017 I was a passenger, along with my two granddaughters, in a friends truck. She is also a AAA member. We had a blowout and limped off freeway on the off ramp in a very dangerous spot. We were stuck on off ramp. Called AAA and told them and they said they would expedite for us. An hour later and several bear misses from being hit our driver calls. Seems dispatch sent him to the wrong place. He was not far from us. We directed him. He shows up in a little Nissan pickup at 9:41 pm, starts to back up then pulls forward then just takes off!!! Leaving two women in their 50s and two young teen granddaughters!!

We tried to call his number back but no answer. We called AAA. Put on hold then finally answer and said we were flipping him off and shouting obscenities. WHAT?? No such thing happened and now we are stranded. Long story short they "claimed" there were no tows available. We ask for CHP as we were in a very bad spot. AAA gave a wrong location again and now both Chp and any available tow were looking for us. 5 hrs later we saw a CHP across hwy. Called Chp and told dispatch we see their unit. We were found and Chp said we were lucky we were not killed. He had to close off ramp so the tow could change our tire and then get us off freeway b/c now our battery was dying due to charging our phone which was our lifeline. We no water or food with us and it was 100+ that day and still hot at night. AAA has yet to contact me back regarding my complaint.

I called AAA on July 17th at 1:30 pm because I have the premier service & my car broke down 221 miles from home. The dispatcher told me it would take an hour & a half to get to me. Well almost 2 hours pass, so I call again because I hadn't gotten any updates whatsoever. They then proceed to tell me nobody has been sent out yet because they called 8 different tow truck companies & nobody wants to tow us that far. THEN they verify my phone number & it's WRONG which explains why I hadn't gotten any updates.

So here I am, still stranded 221 miles from home & by the time the tow truck gets here it'll be 5 hours stranded. I shouldn't have to pay the 21 miles due to poor service & being left stranded for 5 hours. That's not okay. Now I'll have to miss my best friend's wedding reception & also pay an arm & a leg for service I shouldn't have to pay for due to lack of negligence. Very, VERY displeased & considering getting rid of my service with AAA.

I am furious about my roadside service this evening. My car overheated on the freeway, leaving my children and I stranded on the shoulder of a busy freeway at 10:30pm. I called AAA roadside and was told they'd send out someone within 30-90 minutes. I was texted that the service request was submitted. A tow truck driver leaves me a message on my phone that they couldn't find me so I called back. I also called CHP for assistance as I was not feeling that we were safe on the side of a busy freeway (880s from Oakland to Hayward). CHP finds me and calls AAA. I call again confirming information and again stating that we are four people in the car and did not feel safe on the side of the freeway. CHP leaves and asks us to keep our seatbelts fastened and stay in the car. They said someone will come.

We waited over an hour and a half and a tow truck driver came. He said AAA called him to tow us. He said he can give two of a ride in his truck and suggested I call an UBER service to pick up the other two people (my young children) as they wait on the side of the freeway. He insisted that I give him my membership information so he can start on the paperwork. I said absolutely not and asked him to call AAA for an alternative idea. After some time, he returns to my car and said he will tow me and AAA will call CHP to drive two of us while he tows my car and take the other two passengers. When CHP arrives, the driver takes off, leaving all four of us with CHP and our car, untowed, stranded on the side of the road. After waiting some time and seeing that it was almost 1:00am, CHP slowly guides my vehicle off the side of the freeway since no one came.

I am unsure why the tow truck driver left us and why he would suggest that I call an UBER for my children on the side of a busy freeway. CHP was also confused why he drove off as they arrived. I am very upset about this service. The driver of the tow truck took down my information. He asked that I fill out the form for him. His license plate number is **. He did not give me a copy of the form I filled out before he drove off. I called and spoke to roadside assistance about my experience today. They were not sure why the driver drove off. I have been a member of AA since 2001. It is unacceptable that when I need the service the most, the service provided was subpar.

On July 1, 2017 Sat., my vehicle (a motorcycle) broke down in a rural area of North Carolina. No tow truck sent. I was located on a small side road approximately 1/4 mile from a major highway intersection, but there were no services nearby. My cell phone provider (AT&T) did not have service in the area.

I flagged down a passerby that was kind enough to let me use his phone. I placed a call to the phone number displayed on my membership card. After a 10 to 15 minute wait an agent answered and advised me that my membership area was FL. and as I was in N.C. I would have to be transferred to that area. My call was then transferred and after another 10 to 15 minute wait an agent answered.

After obtaining my membership info and vehicle description, the agent advised me that I did not have motorcycle coverage. I advised her that I did in fact have M/C coverage and it was so stated on my membership card. My call was then disconnected for unknown reason. I again called the number on my card and after another 10 to 15 minute wait an agent answered and again transferred my call to N.C. Before she hung up I obtained the direct number for N.C. in case of another disconnect. Again after 10 to 15 minutes an agent answered and I went through the process again. The agent advised that as I did not have M/C Coverage I would have to pay for the tow. I didn't argue and said to just send a tow.

When asked for my phone number I gave it, but advised that it was my cell phone number, but that I did not have service in the area so I couldn't be contacted at that Number. I advised the agent that I was using the cell phone of a passerby who would be leaving. After confirming my exact location, etc., the agent advised that a tow would arrive within 1 hour. After waiting for an hour and a half, I called the N.C. office again, using the phone of another passerby. When I inquired about the tow, the agent said the tow had been canceled, but couldn't explain the reason or who had canceled the tow. Again after confirming my info and location the agent advised that a tow would be sent. Again after being asked for my phone number, I explained the phone situation again.

After another hr and a half, my daughter arrived to pick me up. A farmer that had equipment in a field next to the road allowed me to leave my bike concealed among his equipment. After getting into a cell phone service I found two phone messages from 3A. The first message was in response to my first request. The agent advised that they needed a little more information before they could send a tow. I had given them all of my membership info, a detailed description of my motorcycle, and a detailed description of my location and the agent had said she could see where I was. The second call was from another 3A agent advising that they would be unable to provide a tow that weekend, but they would be happy to provide me with some tow services that may be able to help.

I have since discovered that in spite of 3A's advertising that they provide 24/7 service, that it isn't necessarily true. 3A is a sort of franchise type operation, with different offices handling different states, and they aren't necessarily next to each other. Even though you have 3A service, they may not provide tow service and you will be on your own to find a tow service. The agents I dealt with never advised me of that situation, or the fact that if you do have to find a tow, 3A will reimburse you.

Very disappointed in 3A after being a member for over 24 years. If they are the top of the line in roadside service companies I feel sorry for folks that have less expensive coverage. Upon me following up on my complaint to their customer relations unit, I was informed that 3A is going to pay for my membership next year. That ought to be interesting. Free coverage for tow service that doesn't show up. Wonder how they are going to write that up. I am unable to provide an order number as I was never given one. I also don't have a receipt as a tow never showed.

I have had to use AAA to start my car 4 x in the past two years. Mostly due to a faulty battery they installed in the car the first time. Each time, the automated voice promises to connect me to the office closest to my current location. Instead, the operator is always several states away. This last time she refused to send out help because the account is in my husband's name. She refused to investigate my status as "associate member," and instead insisted that my husband needed to be present in order for work to be done on the car. She refused to accept the fact that we are married and share a membership.

This went on for 10 minutes or so, before she finally transferred me to a supervisor near my location, as per my repeated demand for that. That operator was able to identify me within seconds, and sent help. But when I complained about the repeated waste of time due to a faulty system and incompetent operators, he doubled down and defended the last operator, and the electronic system that never connects you to the right location when you are in need. Emergency service? Not ok.

After initiating a phone call for tow. Break down on the side of the road in Florida at 11:58 am this past Sunday. There was still no tow truck at 1:30. I talked to six different people altogether mostly one worse than the other except for the fifth man named Leon. Wherever he was who was truly contrite and apologetic. AAm Allstate road ranger who stopped gave me the wrong mile marker but every time I spoke to one of the AA representatives I explained what town I was in although I had the wrong mile marker. NO ONE WAS LISTENING FULLY.

I was finally able to get in touch with the original scheduled tow company in Punta Gorda while I was broke down in Seffner well over an hour north of there. He said he was over an hour away from me at mile marker 158 while I was over at mile marker 257 and 260 although I did not know that till he told me at 1:38. Reinitiated a call. This would now be the fourth person I spoke to after the previous girl sassed me. I explain to six different people where I was exactly where I was BUT nobody was listening. I even had one rep who sounded like she was on something and thought I was the tow company and not the customer!! After which she just abandoned the whole call then I had to start all over again.

But your last person who actually finally got the call initiated. Of course I was not feeling too happy by the time I spoke to him although I remained polite. But this man needs sensitivity training. He doesn't have a clue how to handle it properly. I don't know who you're hiring or where these people are but I did clean that you need a far more sophisticated system to figure out where people are. This last guy acted like I was completely stupid because I didn't know where I was. At which mile marker. How many people are driving down the road. Looking at mile markers I would like to know we are all just focusing on defensive driving so we are not killed by the crazy people out there!! No I didn't know where I was but I sure knew what town I was in.

Four and a half hours later I was on my way home with Shamrock Towing which was about 30 minutes from where I was. Thank heaven for Albert, he was the only breath of fresh air in the day. Albert from Shamrock what a gem, calm and polite and efficient and careful. I must mention that it was 90 degrees in the shade although we were sweltering. Be the Sun on the side of the road where after a while tempers flare in these situations. My husband, impatient and angry, began exhibiting terribly frightening, irresponsible behavior over the incident although luckily for you he was not in contact with the customer service reps. The whole lack of professionalism was so highly stressful that I can't even describe it and normally I take most things in stride.

I have been a business owner for 32 years. While I was waiting for what I thought was the first tow truck to come I actually looked on your website and saw that you have a lowly one-star rating. I don't know who runs this stuff but if it were me I would never find that acceptable. I know this is nationwide and you are only as good as the people you hire but either they are not being treated right, they are not being paid fairly, or someone's handling of training them is inefficient to put it mildly and kindly. I have been a long time Triple-A member but I spoke with five or six people in the space of 24 hours following the incident who had nothing but negative things to say about your service. I am very seriously going to reconsider not rebooking mine in July. I am a plus member and has been for years. I have bought membership for my children for years.

I just can't believe some of these reviews I’m reading and that nobody's doing ANYTHING about it!! Or are you? If you are you should write some kind of a customer blog or letter to explain that you have some kind of problem in your system that you are going to correct!! People appreciate an effort and they appreciate honesty. You need to learn something from the voice of experiences, the people who are out there bad-mouthing you!! How can it one hour response time turn into some of these stories that you see online? I hope this gets to the right person. AAA really needs to pull itself together. I would be ashamed to have a one-star rating!!

BTW there never was any problem with any tow company I ever had dispatched to me when I used my AAAroad service. Instead it was always your "customer service" that was the source of disappointment. If you are raising your prices all the time why aren't you raising your standards? WAKE UP AND DO WHAT YOU PROMISE TO DO AND WHAT WE SCRAPE SOMETIMES TO PAY FOR A SENSE OF SECURITY and EFFICIENCY THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE. Really now!!!

I recently needed help with a flat but they couldn't/wouldn't assist me. The most basic of roadside services and AAA couldn't deliver. A large commercial tow truck was sent. I was inside a property that was gated, large enough gate for my truck but not for such a large commercial vehicle. The driver told me to drive my truck out to the gate. No. I was not going to drive nearly 500' over rough terrain, damaging my rim shredding the tire. So what did he do? He left. AAA said that was the only assistance in my area so, although I paid for such service, they couldn't help me. No problem AAA. I now wave good-bye and am going through Costco for my auto insurance and roadside assistance. You've lost me forever.

He was very honest about the battery showing it still had some life in it, but pointed out where it had acid leaking.

Rather than take a chance on it happening again, I decided to purchase a new battery, which he installed right away. My friend had thought that the alternator was the problem. He was told that they would take the car to the nearest AAA service station. He obtained the number to that station and called. Because we were running late and he feared they could not get the part for his car, he instructed them to buy a starter and install it when we arrived.

When we arrived at one of the AAA owned service centers which we had no choice to go to, the mechanic put the starter in the car. It wasn't the starter that was the problem. The car was there for 3 days and they couldn't find the problem. After 3 days the manager Bill said it was the ground wire to the starter. It took them 3 days to fix a simple problem and with all the inconvenience of us going back and forth to Philadelphia repeatedly they still charged my friend $400 dollars for a 5 dollar part. What was worse they took the old starter out and we have an old starter. These are the most incompetent mechanics I have ever seen in my entire life. AAA takes advantage of stranded motorists in a despicable way by overcharging and not doing quality work.

My vehicle wouldn't start so I called AAA at approx 5:45. The phone call took a while because the customer service rep couldn't get my location to "verify" in their system. The location that was finally put in the system was two roads and approx 1 mile away from where I actually was (but they didn't tell me that, I found out later by looking online). I was given a 2 hour window for when the tow driver might show up but said it could be sooner.

After an hour of no contact I checked the website and saw the location I supposedly was waiting at on the map. I saw that my service request had been dispatched. I called AAA again and spoke to the CSR and was told they would and a note into the service ticket about my location. They also told me the driver was at an emergency call and would be there after that. It shouldn't be much longer. At the 2 hour mark I called again and was told it shouldn't be much longer. The driver was finishing up a call and he would probably be there in 20-30 min.

After another hour (3 hours) and no contact, I looked at the website again and my request had moved back to call received (not dispatched). I called again and as soon as the CSR saw that it had already been 3 hours she called the "service provider" while I was on hold. She came back and said that they had switched me to another tow driver that was dropping a vehicle near my location and he should be there in 20 min. Well the 20 min came and went and still nothing.

The driver finally got to my location right at the 4 hour mark. BTW: He called me from where it was flagged that I was (and of course wasn't). I explained all about the note that was supposed to be added to the request. The shop that my vehicle was being taken to was approx 20 min away and my house is less than 5 mins from the shop. I got home 5 hours after my initial phone call with AAA. This is not acceptable.

I was stranded on the highway at 1:00 am alone as a female and the idiot who took my call 1) said it would be two hours before someone could get to me (in Ft Lauderdale) and 2) literally recorded in the system I was safe. In actuality I was terrified. I am grateful it was me and not my daughter. And even more grateful for the free ROAD RANGERS offered by the FHP. Fast forward to speaking with supervisor to only be told AAA internally canceled the request. There are no words to describe this horrible service and unethical company. To know all those calls placed were lies told by their representative when they knowingly had canceled the request. So here I wait, in the dark with still no AAA service.

I called and told it would be 3 hours or more for pickup. I'm 20 minutes outside of Tallahassee. Told your primary contractor had only 1 truck in service that day. Really. You hire people who can't service customers with any predictability? Totally unacceptable. I had to keep on the dispatcher to find a better answer. I had to initiate her looking three times at least. In the end she found someone who could be there in an hour. After spending thirty minutes looking. Again. I'm not that far away from Tally. I was having bad cell service and told her my signal was spotty and irregular. I had to climb up an interstate overpass embankment to get even a weak signal. She couldn't help that. But she could have moved slightly faster in case I lost the signal again. I don't blame the dispatcher. She was trying. But it did take me to move her along. Otherwise I would have been in the hot Sun for 3 hours or more.

When I returned home the tow truck driver got in my car and left grease stains on the seat from his pants and on the carpet from his boots. I'm still trying to clean it up. But the question is... why should I be having to do it in the first place? He also dumped the car in my street with the tail end sticking out several feet. Fortunately it's a quiet street. Sloppy. Sloppy. And as far as the car left sticking out... I could move it. I did. But I know how to handle things. What if it's was an older woman? Or someone unfamiliar with cars? So... in summary... bad experience. This is the second time I've gone through this type of thing with you guys.

Substandard service from your suppliers. The last time I was stuck at 10 at night and they refused to take my car home because it was "too far". And I was having a tire problem but they couldn't even loosen the lug nuts. Took me 5 hours on my own to work through that problem. Sitting in a 24 hour Wal-Mart parking lot. Middle of the summer patching a tire and trying to hobble home unsafely. And your answer was to give me a few dollars in gas cards. And once again. I can deal with these things. How many of your customers are stranded out there... unsafe... while waiting endlessly because they don't know any better?

I've used as AAA a long time. I get that good help is hard to find. But there is a breakdown in your system for events like these. Your people are following a script that works most of the time. But they are ill prepared for exceptions. Perhaps you should have a trigger where someone with the authority to do whatever it takes (like call a tow truck company and say you will pay marker rates for a situation like mine)to solve the situation. That seems like a good option to me. So... the question is now... what are you going to for me to counter this second aggravation? How can you change that bad taste I have for you right now into something sweet... bring me back to a AAA fan? Be creative. Be generous. Sincerely

We had the online app that changed the time to 9:09pm!! And the tow truck arrived at 9:30pm! Not his fault by any means, he was extremely nice and apologetic. He explained he came from Mass a good 45 mins away! WHY IN THE HELL DID MY TRIPLE A DOESN'T USE A COMPANY CLOSER! But if I just wanted help putting the tire back on I would have to pay for it myself. (They do offer roadside assistance in the policy but that is no good if you take your own tire off???) So they send a guy out to help us at our expense and he doesn't even have a jack or lug wrench. Seriously AAA. Time for us to look for another service.

I took the car to the AAA repair shop at 9404 Independence Drive, Charlotte, NC and they told me I needed a new oil pan, oil change, alignment and splash guard and it would cost $1,500. I'm not from the area so I didn't have much of a choice on what to do. Steve from the repair shop called me again later in the day and said they wouldn't be able to do the repairs because the car was too small and I should have it towed to a Fiat dealer which was approx. 30 miles in either direction.

I called a local repair shop that services Fiats and told them the situation. He said to bring it in and he could do the repairs. When he put the car on the lift he asked me who had told me I needed a new oil pan. I told them the AAA repair shop. Red Rock Auto told me there was only a hairline fracture on the outside of the oil pan and nothing was leaking and I didn't need a new oil pan. He kept the car overnight to make sure there were no leaks. I picked up the car and had a safe trip home. I'm very grateful for Red Rock Auto being so honest. I am a AAA member and haven't had any problems with their roadside service but I will never take my car for repairs to a AAA repair shop.

AAA policies had changed over the last year or so and not in a good way. I recently purchased a car and got it titled in my name. It would not start so I was going to get it towed to my house so I could repair it. The car is going to be a project car and since it was not going to see the road for several months, I withheld getting plates for it, mainly because I would have to get insurance on it as well. I was told that if the tags did not match the title and registration that it would not be able to get towed. This is confirmed by an app on the towing companies phones.

Back when I used this service in the past, it was as long as the car was proved to be owned by the member it was eligible to be towed. AAA stands for American Automobile Association, not American Automobile Roadside service. I used to maintain the membership year to year with not needing service, the one time in three years that I wanted to use the service I was denied. I just renewed this service, so I called them back and cancelled my renewal.

Towing & Repair Service - I want to take the opportunity to report on superb service that we received on May 10, 2017 while traveling from South Carolina to Ohio. The throttle cable broke on our 2002 Chevy Astro Van on Interstate 77. We were able to get to the side of the road, but in a very unsafe situation. We called AAA and your people did their normally excellent job in helping us get some help. The wrecker company dispatched was Bert's Garage Inc from Hillsville Va. We had them take us to their garage rather than Allen's Garage that your people suggested. I like to deal with one company whenever possible and, in this case, it was not only appropriate, but a fantastic decision.

Wesley, the tow truck driver, was an outstanding representative of both Bert's Garage and AAA, as were the others I will note later. He was very efficient, easy to understand, very courteous, and, above all else, put himself into a situation in hooking up our van that I was in no way envious of. In my opinion he deserves hazard pay for this retrieval.

Once we got to the garage, just around 5 pm, we were graciously met by Tammy and Michael, the mechanic. Tammy welcomed us and did the initial paperwork, while Michael immediately looked at the van and diagnosed the problem. Tammy called and ordered the part, which was due for delivery on Friday. As it turned out, they were able to get the part from Chevrolet early Thursday morning and had the van repaired by 11 am. Tammy, in particular, handled this effort in an outstanding manner and she is not the manager. She deserves very high praise for making a customer this happy. Tammy also had a driver take us to a local hotel and pick us up when the repair was completed, helped us make a decision on a hotel and a possible rental car for Thursday, if we needed it.

Other than my 29 year relationship with my local mechanic, I would recommend these folks to anyone and everyone. Overall, this was the best bad day I have ever had with an emergency car situation, with or without AAA. I noticed some AAA commendations on the office wall at Bert's and certainly understand why they would be receiving them. I should have looked at the dates, but didn't. I would highly recommend them for such a commendation for 2017! Or just for this service! In closing, let me thank AAA, Wesley, Tammy, and Michael for making this a happy experience. And, oh by the way, we were astonished at the cost. We expected this to cost substantially more, but it was $141.15. That was so cheap just to get us back on the road.

Recently my car stopped southbound on the I-17 60 miles from Phoenix. I was promised by AAA my call would be a priority and someone would be there in 40 min. I received four more calls after each promise failed. I was there a total of two hours on the highway. When the tow finally arrived he went right past us and missed us causing him to go to another turnaround which caused an additional 20 min. A police officer had stopped to ask us if we needed help and there goes the tow truck whizzing by.

When I complained to AAA all they would offer was a $50.00 credit. Not acceptable in my book. I requested a year membership and thought that was sufficient but they would not approve of that. The tow was extremely late putting us in peril and the tow truck was very old and smelly. Not a professional tow person at all. We even gave him the exact mile marker and explained we were right at that mile marker. I could touch the mile marker and even with all that he still went right by us. That tow company should have never took the job if he couldn't get there on time. We were between Black Canyon City and Cortes Junction. Why promise you will be there in 40 minutes if you can't get to us until 2 hours? I was so disgusted with false promises.

After not hearing from them stating they had received my application I called their help number on Monday, May 1 and finally got transferred to the office in Missouri that handles Arkansas clients also. They could not give me any information only that it would take a long time to process my application and asked that I call back on Thursday, May 4th.

I called back on Monday, May 8th. The representative told me that they had my application and would give me the number and app to put on my phone which he did right away. He begin to tell me all what I would receive and when he got to the part of levels of coverage. I was told that I would receive up to THREE Miles of towing if my car broke down and I called a tow truck. The information in the letter that I received DID NOT mention anything about levels and the fact if I wanted to be towed farther than THREE miles I would have to step up to another level or pay for the towing over THREE miles. I believe this is very intentionally deceiving as since there were no mention of levels with the offer in the mail. It appeared as towing included sending a tow truck out and towing my automobile to the nearest garage. I Am getting more leery about AAA as I have read some of the reviews that is very negative.

I had always assumed that AAA was a very reputable Auto Club as it had been around a long time is the reason I didn't research before I bought. I live and learn. The bottom line is I feel AAA intentionally kept this information out of the offer that I received in the mail to increase their enrollment. After all, the main feature in the Club for me as a woman traveling alone is to feel confident that you will be towed to a garage not three miles down the road and the rest is up to me. That is insane!

I was on the way to the grocery store and heard a pop noise with my tire, then I could hear something while I was driving. The AAA place was the closest to me and I was afraid the tire was going to give out. It was about 5 minutes before 5:00 PM and I asked the attendant if they could put the car up on the lift to see what the issue was, so I would not get stuck or blow a tire while driving. I am female and I was by myself (husband out of town). I told him I was willing to pay whatever the charge would be. I could tell the attendant wanted to help but he said he has to ask his manager.

The manager said "no, we are almost at closing time," then they proceeded to shut down the garage doors as I was sitting there. As I could hear the doors closing, I did not know what I was going to do and it was just a horrible feeling. I decided to risk it and try and make it to Merchant's several miles away and made it. They took me in and I bought two new tires from them. The Merchant's manager said they have a no turn away policy if someone comes in with a tire issue no matter when, even if it is near closing. This is because it's a safety issue and I could have been hurt and so could have others. The tire had a huge screw in it and very likely would have blown the tire had I driven very much further. My van broke down in Yellowstone National Park at the Ice Lake Trailhead. For some reason, AAA is not allowed to "rescue" its customers in the park; that is handled by contractors within the park, who have it all sewn up. This one was out of Canyon Village, Yellowstone Park Service Stations, Inc. It cost $565.65 to get towed into West Yellowstone, Montana. AAA of Oregon - Idaho REIMBURSED me for this out-of-pocket expense (after completing and sending-in the required "claim form"). Receiving AAA service, I was then towed into Idaho Falls, Idaho, where the van was repaired. The AAA towing "agent" from West Yellowstone was extremely helpful and made certain that I got to Idaho Falls in time to get the van repaired.

I have the AAA "Premier" coverage, which is $147 per year and worth every penny. Alas, I have had other roadside emergencies, and AAA has always been extremely responsive. Yes, depending upon your location, you may have to wait a while, but they get to you as quickly as possible.

We have been a AAA contractor for 35 years, my father started doing business with AAA in the 80's. For the last 5 years we have been trying to get a company that was very good to us and to its customers to do the right thing. They have developed a take it or leave it attitude. For the last few years we have been trying to get AAA to go back to their old rates and to cover us out on the road if their customer is gone when we get there. AAA used to make sure their customer was taken care of that was their primary concern. Now their primary concern is the $ how much they can stick in their pocket while leaving the customer stranded or the contractor out looking for a customer that has long been gone.

AAA representative told me point blank that if the customer is gone when we get there is just our tough luck, he would not do anything about it. They did not do business like this years ago. They sent us many miles down the road looking for stranded customers and paid us for it. Just to help the customer, just to make sure their customer was safe. Their attitude and their changes in policy have caused us to lose money, to lose other income because while we were out looking we missed other calls. I finally gave up today and decided going from 2000$ to 4000$ per month to less than 100$ each month was not going to work for my business. Contracts I was told now do not have to be signed from year to year. So I asked if I could be fired.

The tow driver says he can't jack up my van to change it to my spare. I was so confused by this, he tells me he doesn't have the right tire jack. They are AAA certified tow trucks and they can't change a tire. Anyway the tow truck driver told me he would either tow me ($120 to tow back to my home in Sarasota). He said, "Have it towed or I will have to leave you on the side of the highway." Being it's midnight on a Sunday I had no choice. Let me tell you I am a woman by myself and have 3 children waiting for me at home.

Well it gets better once I am in the tow truck and being towed home. The driver tells me he has a foot fetish and if he can play with my feet he will tow me for free. I am so freaked out and just hoping I get home safe at this point. That tow truck driver didn't want to change my tire. He had a ploy and wanted to try and take advantage of my situation.

I called AAA and made a serious complaint. I told them the whole story and felt I deserved the $120 back because that tow truck driver took advantage of me. The supervisor felt so bad and was so angry I had gone through this and said he thought I should be reimbursed and was forwarding to the customer service dept that handles it. He also told me they would return my call in 3 to 5 days. Well guess what? They didn't return my call. I had to call them.

Finally talk to someone and she informs me that I won't get the $120 back because I had a choice to have it towed to a mechanic in the area, now remember it's Sunday, midnight, in a place I don't know and no way of getting home to my kids in Sarasota. All I wanted was my tire changed. There was absolutely nothing mechanical thing wrong with my van. There should have been NO REASON they couldn't change my tire. Isn't that why we pay for our membership fee. Lucky me I get an apology letter. Guess I should be thanking them for putting me in a dangerous situation!!! Well, 55 minutes came and went. My husband called again at 1:38 pm and was told it would be another 35 minutes. At this point, my husband was starting to worry about the older woman, as she is 92 YEARS OLD and had been sitting in her car on this 85 degree day. As more time went by, they noticed this lovely woman was not doing very well and placed a 3rd call at 2:15 pm. Again, being told there would be an additional 35 minute wait!! Are you serious? The first call was made at 12:09 pm, for a 92 year old woman who was stranded on the side of the road and almost three hours later, she was still there!!!

Thank goodness my husband and another gentleman stayed with her and made sure nothing happened to her! Luckily, she was somewhere safe and secure with two strangers who were good, kind people! (I can't even imagine if she was alone or stranded somewhere else!) Deciding it would be best for her health, the other gentleman took the elderly woman home, while my husband secured her vehicle. He called again to let someone know that the vehicle would be left unattended, and surprise, an additional 35 minutes was added onto the wait time!

I think that was absolutely disgusting that a call was placed for a 92 year old woman in need of help and was continuously told she had to wait for hours and upon hours. 92 years old. You should be ashamed of yourselves! I hope that one day one of your grandparents never, ever need help or assistance and rely on this service! If they do, I hope there are compassionate and kind people who stop the help and make sure they stay safe! In the end, this wonderful woman called my husband at 4:24 pm and told him that her car was now at her closed mechanics shop. So, this 92 year old woman had to wait for four and a half hours for an emergency roadside call for help... That's just awful. Disgusting, if you ask me. AAA you truly dropped the ball today. Like I said, you should be truly ashamed of yourselves...

AAA told me that if I had my car towed to Bob Sumerel on Ridge Rd that they would be able to get back with me in an hr with an estimate and I would get 10% off so I let them tow it there. It took 3 hrs before they got back to me and I was told my fuel pump needed replaced. When they quoted me I found out the 10% discount was just on labor charges. When I got my car back the next day it was making a strange sort of vibrating noise now and then and so I took it back and they said it was the heat shield vibrating because one of the clamps was rusted and broke off so it wasn't secure. I'm not sure why nobody notified me of that before giving it back to me. It wasn't making the noise before it was brought in.

I took it into another place and was told 3 of the hangers/clamps were broke and needed welding. I feel that they got broke while it was being fixed since it never made the noise prior, even though they were rusted and maybe not their fault that they broke, Bob Sumerel should have told me about the problem. I feel that I was overcharged because I called the dealer and they would charge $50 less for the fuel pump than I was charged and an auto supply store charged $200 less for the same part. Also when the AAA person came out to try to get my car started during his troubleshooting he said that it wasn't the battery and it's not the fuel pump cause he heard it kick on when the ignition was turned so I can't help but feel that I was ripped off here and that I got bad customer service. I didn't know at the time that AAA owned Bob Sumerels and I feel that is why they told me incorrect info for me to get my car in and then was taken advantage of.

I have been a member for 10 years plus. I have only used this service 4 times, and all 4 times, service was prompt about (20 minutes) and the company that was dispatched contacted me on their way to my location to let me know they were in route. This time, however, the service was terrible. I called AAA at 4:55 pm on Monday, March 13, 2017 for a flat tire change, and was on hold for 7 minutes before an agent answered. I was in Rutland, a small city, with several repair/tow service businesses within 5 minutes of my location. They said it would be 40 minutes, and gave me the name of the company that they were dispatching. After hanging up, I googled that company and found that they were 15 miles outside of the city. I called back (about 10 minutes after the first call) and informed the agent that there had to be multiple companies within 2 miles of where I was and that it would most likely be quicker for them to dispatch a more local business.

They agreed and again told me it would be 45 minutes and that someone would let me know when they were in route. I waited 40 minutes without hearing from them, so I called them back only to find out that the business they dispatched had called them back and said that they were unable to do the service. Now they are dispatching yet another company. Also, I was told that 40 minutes is an estimate and not a guarantee. I am not sure why the first company could not come, any driver should have been able to change the tire. Now, they are dispatching another company, and at this time the estimated time of arrival for service is yet another 45 minutes. This time I did receive a follow up call to let me know that they actually had a service person paged and responding, and I got a text that someone would be there by 6:45 pm. We are talking almost 2 hours from the original call in a city with at least 10 service stations nearby.

By that time, all of the area businesses are closing because it is now after 5 o'clock and it is about 15 outside. Finally, at 6:30 pm, a guy from a local company in a Blazer shows up and is able to do the service. AAA's customer service people were not very pleasant and I think that maybe they are not paying their contractors well, and many businesses no longer participate with AAA. This would explain their inability to get someone to me timely. Thinking I might not renew in April... disappointed.

AAA is without a doubt the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Their agents for the most part are not knowledgeable of what they are selling and there is NO personal touch or human contact at all. Unless you call them and after about a 10 to 15 minute hold the person on the other end seem's very friendly. Of course by this time, I'm mad and not as pleasant as I should be. Sorry guys, but you got to get it together. AAA is great for discounts on other things. Just not insurance.

Yesterday, I went to Auto Zone with the AAA dead replacement battery, which was toast after a year and spent 150.00 on a good battery. Each time I told them I had moved and the PA account should not renew. This third call the rep lied when I asked if it was for the PA acct! I told him I'd go online and renew, and of course he said he'd do it for me, I refused. Went online line and as I suspected, my WI acct is up to date. I called because I was at a movie theater and my battery was dead when I tried to leave. I just needed a jump start. They first told me they would be to me in two hours. I said no problem, they called back after a hour and said they can't get anyone to come. All the trucks are busy. I told them I would wait because I did not have any other way to jump start my vehicle. I explained to them I had no cash, and I was sitting in my car in the cold in the snow. They said "sorry we just talked to our companies and none of them have a truck powerful enough to jump start a vehicle."

That is a complete lie and everybody that has any sense knows that. Even the lady on the phone did not believe what she was telling me. Still they told me they could not help me and I was on my own. I had no money, no people I can call and I was left to leave my car and walk 10 miles home in the snow and in cold. AAA use to be a company you can trust but I am here to tell you that you cannot trust them in Anchorage Alaska to help you at all. AAA should be ashamed of themselves for what they did to me. I have been with AAA for over 8 years and never had a major issue with them. They are not perfect but very few corporate companies are. However, I will not be renewing our coverage with them. My battery was replaced by them in 2016. I had a warranty on it. A receipt was given to me however, I have not been able to locate the receipt for the battery replacement. The battery corroded in just a matter of 6 months. The acid ate right through my battery connector and I was stuck with no transportation late at night.

I had AAA come out, they sent a towing company. The driver admitted that the battery was bad but said it was under warranty. But he did not have any batteries in stock for my SUV. He said he had to order one and it would be in hopefully within a few days. I then called AAA a few days later and they ended up telling me that the year of my SUV is not covered for a battery replacement or warranty? They said they do not even show me in the system of ever having a battery replaced in 2016. Then they tell me that the battery cannot be replaced.

I then ask for a supervisor who tells me that she will honor the warranty. I explained that we cannot locate the receipt and I do not understand why I am not showing in the system of having the battery replaced by them in 2016. She did not have an answer but said for me to go and have the battery replaced with a 3rd party mechanic shop and send the receipt to her. She will then have us reimbursed for the battery. Something told me that this would not go as planned but I trusted her and did what she said. She even said she would have it expedited so we can receive our refund quickly since money is very tight for us. We are on a fixed income in my family household.

I had the battery replaced and sent in the receipt for the battery replacement right away and waited two weeks. I then called to find out the status. There were no notes showing that they had received my documents but they said they will have someone call me back on the status. I then receive a call that same day from a representative who then tells me that they need the actual receipt from 2016 when the battery was installed?! Big surprise, I knew that would come back into the equation. I explained the same story over again and let him know that the manager already said she would reimburse us even though we cannot find the receipt. He then said that the receipt is actually required since we are not showing in the system for some reason? I then tried calling the tow company but they could not locate anything for some reason as well?

After numerous calls and speaking to another supervisor since the previous one does not seem to be available, I was told there was nothing more that can be done. The most recent supervisor then tells me that because it is a different department handling the refund, they are requesting the actual receipt from 2016. That is a sad excuse to offer. At that point, I gave up and just decided to not renew my account with AAA. I already found another company who offer the same benefits and features.

It's upsetting that my information is missing from their system in 2016 for the battery replacement and then be told that my 2005 SUV is not covered for that year. It makes me think that something was not processed properly and someone messed up somewhere. I think it is odd that the information is missing from their system. And I now have to suffer financially for it. The only thing that brings me peace of mind is that I received a new battery from a reputable company who guarantees their battery. AAA would have just used another battery with the same company that gave me the battery before and that also damaged my SUV. Yet, AAA does not care that this happened. I am just another number and of no importance to them. Thank you for nothing AAA.

Until last year I was a member for over 15 years straight, using the service once during that time. When they increased the annual fees to the point I thought it was not worth the cost considering I had paid them over $1000 in the past 15 years for one tow. Last year I cancelled. Today I reviewed a promotional offering a year's coverage for $57 with a promotion code. I call to sign up if next year's fees was not too much... It was not. I gave all my information to the lady I was talking to. She then asked me the number of miles I drive per day on average. Being retired it works out to be about 7 miles per day. She then explained AAA would tow me to the nearest AAA facility for free OR to the nearest location of my choice as long as it was within five miles of where I break down. After that the charge is $5 per mile.

Then she offered me the "150" mile plan for a little over $110. I said, "You must be kidding" and hung up. I would not have minded however nowhere in the documents I received did it say what was exactly covered for the $57. As I recall in the past I would receive similar promotional material, however the different plans and their costs were clearly described. I guess they think we cannot make decisions on our own and must be duped to join. As with the reviews I have read out of the over 700 posted here, AAA is nowhere close to being the company that it was in the past. Even if I thought the higher price was worth the service I am very glad I read these reviews! It sounds like even if the service was FREE it is not worth the hassle to be a member.

Since I am mechanically inclined and have an equipped garage simply requested to have some assistance in order to move the vehicle (a small truck) inside the garage. The agent on the phone then stated that they could only send assistance to move my vehicle to a repair facility, but not provide the minimum assistance to move it into my own garage (a much faster and simpler proposition); that is truly the most obnoxious and absurd argument -- or lack thereof -- that I have ever heard. One could only imagine that they are corroborating with repair facilities to extort money from consumers whose membership and promise of service were nothing but a panacea at best and a fraud scheme at worse.

    Original Review: Feb. 7, 2017

I thought that I closed my account with AAA and when I saw the automatic charge on my credit card and called to request it removed, they refused to remove the charge. It was 1 month after the charge (since I didn't see it until time to pay my credit card). It seems like a good reputable company would prorate any service not used. This was a terrible experience and they cheated me. They only hurt themselves because I've used them off and on and purchased this for our son for a birthday gift but he didn't want me to renew his membership. I had no idea I was on automatic renewal. My car was towed earlier today from my breakdown location to a mechanic shop. However, where the tow truck driver parked it, it was inaccessible to the mechanic shop. I called to see if they could get the tow truck to move it and waive the service so it would not count as one of my tows, and the AAA representative refused to allow that.

I feel that this is absolutely the most unprofessional way to handle the situation. It was obviously not my fault where the tow truck put the car, he should have known to put it in a place that was accessible to the mechanic if he was dropping it off for the mechanic. The fact that it was not put in an accessible place should be enough to get a complimentary tow order to correct the mistake. The whole point of getting the car towed to the place it was, was so that the mechanic could get to it. I am very unhappy with the way this was handled. I'm the son of a 75 year old woman who has had AAA for over twenty years. Her car wouldn't start a few months ago so she called AAA. The gentleman came out and told her she needed a new battery which she bought from AAAs onsite battery service. The car wouldn't start three days later, yet a rapid clicking could be heard. I know what this means. It means the solenoid doesn't have enough power from the battery to start the car. When the battery tech from AAA arrived he recharged the battery, tested it and said it was fine. Two days after, car won't start, same symptoms. Tech comes out, same result. This time the tech says its possible that the battery post is loose or not connected properly. Recharged the battery, got the car started, left. Third visit, tech arrives, blames the problem on a possible interior light or some other power draw from the car draining the battery, recharge, left. Seeing a pattern here?

Now, a week later, after my mother has specifically started her car every day, the car is dead, a rapid clicking is heard upon attempting to start it. My mother called AAA customer service and spoke with a gentlemen by the name of Kevin who informed her all he could do was send out a tech to test the battery. That's all they can do, and if it tests ok they will have to charge her for the visit because all of her entitled benefits have been used up. All of her entitled benefits have been used up with visits concerning this one battery! I know for a fact that if a tech comes out he will find an excuse not to replace the battery. My mother just wants a refund of her money that she paid for the battery.

Through what became a heated discussion, my 75 year old mother on the verge of frustrated tears, Kevin told her he would not connect her with anyone else or a supervisor after she asked repeatedly. She asked at least 5 times and at every turn he refused. My mother just wants her money back from the faulty battery and to be done with AAA. I cannot believe, coming from a customer service background, that a company would fight this hard to keep an old ladies money. Money for a product that doesn't work. At this point she doesn't even care about the money, she has to find roadside assistance elsewhere, because even if she chose to keep AAA this fiasco has left her without any benefits from the service until February. At almost exactly 1145 a CAR drives up with two younger guys with the AAA logo. I approached the driver and stated, "WHERE IS THE FLATBED WRECKER." The driver stated, "THEY told us you needed a jump start and that your car will not start." With that I said I've waited 3 hours for NOTHING and a few choice words about AAA and the dispatcher. The driver then started stammering about AAA sending them on runs that people needed tows not jumps and that he was sorry.

With that I called AAA dispatcher and informed her of what has transpired, Long Wait For Improper Assistance With What I REQUESTED. She then apologized for incident and after putting me on hold told me my wrecker will be there in 45 minutes. An hour plus goes by and wrecker arrives, however instead of sending me a flatbed wrecker for the Jaguar XK8, a sling tow wrecker arrived. As he pulls up I state: "YOU'RE NOT TOWING THAT JAGUAR WITH SLING TOW." Driver states even if I wanted there's no way that type of car could be towed without a flatbed. He then states AAA when requesting service did not ask for a flatbed wrecker. I then ask him, "Can you get me what I need," and he calls back to his dispatch and informs me it will be an hour. He departs location and as you can imagine I'm fuming.

I now call AAA and ask for a manager at the dispatch center. After waiting 8 minutes on hold a manager answers. I then question this person on "What and the heck is going on with AAA, I've been a member for 17 years and have never had such incompetence", with that I gave him the entire nightmare scenario just far. He then asked me if he could ask me a few questions. Did I state the car would not start on my first call for assistance, did the initial AAA response car ever call me prior to arriving, did the wrecker driver or Co. call me prior to arrival??? I then stated, "YES told the dispatcher car would not start however gave her all information on what I DID and THAT I REQUESTED A FLATBED WRECKER, and on the other questions NO, no one called me prior to arriving."

The manager then explained that AAA is under a new management protocol that once the computer is tagged Car Will Not Start, they will NOT SEND a tow truck first, additionally I should of been contacted by both response drivers to ensure what I needed. He then explained that I fell in a category that management needs to figure out best to respond to because of the problems that I've encountered. That I should of been sent a wrecker due to my experience on understanding what I needed, both drivers should of called me to talk directly with me so that they would of known not to arrive but get me correct response, and that even the wrong Jaguar type was in the computer, S Type not XK8 from original dispatcher. Additionally I would receive a questionnaire/review form to state my opinion and problems with AAA as conversed to go to management.

In closing I informed him I now have been waiting 4 1/2 hours, still do not know if I really have a flatbed coming and can he at least give me some information on what's up? He then put me on hold for 5 min, returned to inform me wrecker will be there in an hour and yes it's a flatbed. He did acknowledge that AAA did not request a flatbed on original request. With that the wrecker arrived in an hour and half, with correct vehicle. Tow driver informed me that AAA is not what it used to be and that repeated problems persist with company on his end too. Driver departed at 3:00 pm, 6 hours later from initial call.

Note on Bear: As this problem kept going on I called my employer several times about bear issue, employer at 2:00 pm gave incident to another agent, thus I lost 100.00 job. THANKS AAA I SPENT ALMOST AN ENTIRE DAY WAITING, LOST $100.00 job. HOPE YOUR COST CUTTING INITIATIVE IS SAVING YOU big money? It is now Jan. 22 and have received no correspondence to rate incident or problem from AAA. The Jaguar did have an electrical problem in that a squirrel had eaten through several wires in motor area causing security system to activate. In closing I'm leaving AAA in May 2017, going with another provider Good Sam, or???

We have been LOYAL customers to AAA since 1988, 28 years, and bought insurance from them for our two vehicles, our 3 children's vehicles, and our company vehicles! Much $ for these many long years to them. This past year, we moved our office to a new place, got a new office administrator who was fresh out of college, a very smart young man who is our son, and we lost our wonderful AAA agent Dave ** who we had since 1988. This is what occurred. Our daughter hit her deer and damaged her car greatly one evening. She called to report it and something was not right. AAA customer service were acting strange. They were not responding as usual to help us get our car into the body shop right away. I decided to call, and the representative stated to me that our insurance lapsed and there has been no coverage for over a month now. WHAT? Not one phone call! We did not know that we were not covered at all.

Dave ** was the BEST insurance man ever. He called us if there needed to be changes to our accounts or for any reason. He retired last year! I would think that if there was a problem as big as our policy lapsing, a person from AAA would have notified us by phone. They later after the fact of what happened, told us it was enough, to send out a letter and it wasn't their responsibility to call us. Well, the bill was overlooked in our new office and our son sent it out 4 days before the grace period ended in the mail.

In our business, we wait for sometimes months to a year to receive our pay from companies after doing a job. This is how it works in construction. In our son's mind, when he saw the bill, he had thought that it would be ok to send it since it was still before the grace period ended. He now knows he should have called in a payment, but dealing with late money coming in continually, he honestly didn't think this one time would hurt anything. I explained everything to the Customer Complaint Department Marquita **, and got nothing but a letter back stating it was all our fault and they were not going to help us at all. I wrote a letter to CEO Mr. Richardson, of AAA, and received another letter back from Marquita **, basically saying the same thing. It was our fault, etc, etc.

AAA is all about the money, and our policy has never lapsed once since 1988. We paid thousand of dollars to this company and had very little claims all these years. The one time our policy lapsed because the money in the mail didn't arrive in time, and all of those other circumstances that occurred, and our daughter hitting a deer, showed that AAA is NOT LOYAL TO THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. I have to say and never thought I would say this in a lifetime, that I am thankful my daughter hit that deer by our house, because none of us had insurance coverage since AAA stopped it before we even realized there was a lapse in our coverage due to the late payment!!! We also are thankful to God that our daughter was uninjured and that our two sons and my husband and I did not have any accidents. It would have changed our lives completely if it had.

We are sad that our AAA company of 28, yes 28 years did not even care. It's all about money to them, not people. In our business, if we did this to our people we do work for, we would never have a business. INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE TOO MUCH POWER AND HARD WORKING PEOPLE'S MONEY! It's time for America to stop this over usage of power that has been given to Insurance companies. AAA Failed us completely!

My car died in rush hour traffic. 4:40 pm I'm on the phone with AAA emergency call line, because of my location. The police come and help move me out of the (L) fast lane on 84 in Windsor, CT where 91 No.-So. merge of 4 lanes with on ramp cars coming from everywhere it seemed. I got half hour tops but you will be notified of any change and the driver will call when in route. 5:15 I call back. Recording states that driver will be there at 5:51 pm. My 1/2 hr I thought turned into an hour wait, upset and not being able to leave my car or go to the bathroom. I wait on hold to confirm just an hour and I'll see them at 5:51. When I finally got through 5:55 I was told that the wrecker went to a police call. I asked “When were you going to tell me?” “We will get back to you...” Now 6:15, “Sorry we will get another wrecker dispatched.” 6:30 still nothing I call a local co AAA contractor. Statement: “Yup I’m free. I'm right off the ramp 1/4 mile, but I can’t come, I can’t take direct calls.”

I can use you and file a claim they said. They would reimburse, nope can’t. Breaks my contract. I'll lose my contract. Oh and good luck getting reimbursed. They will tell you they investigated and their people took all the right steps. You'll see no reimbursement. Now 6:50 on with AAA. Again truck will be there at 7:01. Still sitting on the side of the road driver calls direct be there in 25 min (wasn’t). So let me tell you I started this nightmare sacred cold and alone. AAA was less than helpful and total wait time 4:40 to 7:33, to the garage by 8:05, home 8:30. Try to find a rental car at that hour. Whatever you do, if you are a gold member paying good fees don’t think because you have AAA gold premier, that you will be helped in a emergency – crisis. And note they are in OHIO, no concepts of CT bad areas or here is a really good one. They suggesting that I leave my car with the key in it, in a bad area.

Great company. Oh but they are sorry? I said what does that get me? “You get 4 calls a year. We will remove this one. You’re back to 4.” I laughed and said "You really think I'm doing this again with you." Then I asked the less than concerned operator, how do I get the 4 hours of my life back. I just lost! Good luck!! AAA members in CT Hartford area AAA stinks. Take heed.

I told the agent that it is frozen out there and it is impossible to stay one hour, but she said she can't help about the time provided that I was only five minutes far from downtown. Finally, they didn't show up and I got assist from police. Can you believe that? This is awful. It is worthless. I will cancel it and never work with AAA again.

I realize we got a lot more of snow last night but when they called me they said the service trucks who do the battery service are not even out today. Hey AAA have you ever heard of chains for your cars or trucks. They basically told me that it might be a couple of days and to call back tomorrow.

I asked if she could leave my service ticket active and she said no and to just call. Well after holding for 45 minutes I opted for the mobile app route which basically doesn't mean anything. I asked well should I put another ticket in tomorrow & they said to call except I really don't want to be on hold for another 45 minutes to have some super rude person treat me like crap. Not sure why it's even called roadside service. Way to leave me stranded AAA. Get your act together. Do you not notice your rating is one star. Words cannot express how livid I am.

I asked for another and was told it was my starter. The vehicle had just been serviced by the dealer. I ran the car all day to charge up the battery. The next morning 1/5/17 the car was hard to start. I stopped at a reputable auto store and they tested the battery. It was bad. He said call AAA they are good. I did. They sent another truck who angrily stated the battery was fine, where's my printout but it won't matter anyway. I went back and it was another shift. They tested the battery and it was bad. They called for me. AAA understood my concern commuting and the impact on the starter and alternator. Both tested fine for the auto store that urged me to replace it AAA and the dealer. I have to call their consumer office during business hours.

I cannot remove the battery or will have no recourse for reimbursement. It was after 5 when they decided to make me go through the business office and with the knowledge of me commuting in a predicted snow storm. I will find out today after 9 although stressed it was negligent and it was 24 hours. My bad expensive battery now. I have been a member with AAA for over 6 years as I result I have their Auto and Renters Insurance. I can't begin to tell you how many customer service problems I have has in the past. First the poor service started with **- 815 Farmington Avenue - West Hartford, Ct. such an attitude! He is not good with customers or business. He fails to return calls and gives me inaccurate quotes on my Auto Policy to date. In attempting to contact AAA regarding my Auto policy they are unable to find my policy and I spend lots of time on the telephone trying to identify myself. I have no claims to date just rising costs and very poor service.

Recently I had a serious price increase and called and spoke with ** 11-14-16 @ 11:05 am, made some changes and then I never heard back about my updated policy or when it was due. Nov. 12 I had to have emergency surgery (Nissen Fundoplication) and I had to have someone take care of my business, as a result my policy was not paid. No notices, emails, nothing was sent or brought to the attention of myself and my daughter. Once I recovered and returned home I realized my auto policy did not appear to be paid, that was on December 30, 2016 @7:17 pm I called and spoke with **. I explained I could not pay the amount until January 1, 2017. He told me if I paid the policy by January 1, 2017 it would immediately be reinstated. I attempted to call and pay my policy on that day but your offices were closed and the auto payment would not identify my policy number. You were closed!

I then called on Monday, January 2, and once again you were closed. I called Tuesday, today and spoke with ** and then a **. ** told me 30 days had lapsed and I had to have a new policy written which was at a much higher rate than I could afford due to the lapse in policy. This was truly an honest mistake on the part of AAA in not notifying me. In the past if a policy was about to lapse I would be sent a notice telling me this. I received no such notice. I am asking to be reinstated with the policy I had with CSAA at the rate I was paying. I also have renters insurance with I have discontinued which was much higher than my new quote with the identical policy. There is a cost difference of $20.00 a month for the exact same policy. I expect nothing from you because you obviously don't care. I have never had a claim with you and don't plan on any either.

I have been a member of AAA for over 25 years. Three years ago roadside service installed a new battery. A year later, the battery failed and I had to call for roadside service again. I was told the battery they installed was the wrong size, and they replaced it. Now a year and a half later, my car would not start (turned the key and got a click). The driver jumpstarted me and told me I should take my car to my mechanic, and not drive it otherwise. He said I had a fuel pump problem. My long-time mechanic said the fuel pump was fine but the battery would not hold a charge.

I called AAA and was told I had to be there to sign for them to come to replace the battery, AND the battery was no longer under warranty because they count from the first failed battery. Two failed batteries are enough. I told my mechanic to go ahead and replace the battery with something reliable. So much for 25 years of dues. Not there when you need them. Apparently AAA doesn't read these reviews or care or they would improve their service.

The four hour online driving course is NOT a four hour driving course. I started the course and went non-stop to completion. At four hours there were multiple sections to complete. It took me approximately 5 1/2 hours. I completed each section early, however, it wouldn't let me go on because it had to time out. As soon as one was done, I started the next. The time required to do all the components is significantly more than the four hours advertised. I believe they are misrepresenting this course and doing so intentionally to get the business. Both times it was a complete joke. They took three times longer than they had estimated and when they did show up they were no help at all. Last night was the second time I called them and when they came out (after waiting 5 hours). The gentlemen was nice but had no idea what he was doing. Jumped my car, did some tests, told me everything was good. As he was cleaning up I went to start the car again and the battery was totally dead and would not start. He had no idea why. He told me I "might" need a battery. He quoted me a battery for $200 and I said I would like to replace the battery. He then acted started back peddling telling me that maybe it wasn't the battery. Then told me he could sell it to me but he couldn't install it. I said that was fine, I will install it.

He then said he didn't have the battery on him, but he could get one here in less than an hour. I said that was fine - I can wait. He then immediately said the battery is fine and that I really didn't need to replace it. At this point I was just done dealing with this guy. It was obvious he had no intention in helping me. So tried to start my car this morning and it's dead. Honestly I am mostly disappointed. I have always felt this security having AAA for so many years. Then when I see what I am actually paying for it's a joke. He have had the most expensive plan for years, but I will not be renewing my membership in February after 21 years of being a member.

Where do I begin... I finally got the chance to sit down and write this review and express how dissatisfied I am with this insurance! For being a loyal customer for over 10 years I would at least expect some assistance as a member. Our RV broke down in the middle of the desert at 6 am. I called AAA member services and they said our membership didn't cover. I was furious! Stuck in the cold in the middle of nowhere with two young children and AAA said that they cannot do anything except provide a number to the nearest tow truck. Yes, we paid $210 out of our own pocket... even after paying more than 10 years' worth of membership payment and only used the roadside service once.

Did I mention I didn't need a tow? One tire busted. All we need was to borrow a jack so we can replace the punctured tire with a spare. $210 just to change the tire! I have my house, two cars and the RV insured by AAA. You would think AAA would mention "by the way, you need to upgrade your membership if you want to cover the RV." Instead they would rather collect your money and hope you will never need roadside assistance. I was ready to cancel my membership and insurance right then and there! Unfortunately everything has already been paid. I'm never late on payment. Should have stuck with State Farm. I guess I better find an alternative insurance company.

The towing company told me that they had received the dispatch from AAA only 7 minutes prior to my phone call. I was told they would be out to change my tire within 30 minutes. I called AAA back to ask why the towing company had only received the call to change my tire only 7 minutes prior to my calling the towing company.

I told her I had contacted the towing company and was given another 30 minutes until they could respond. She stated she was working with the dispatcher to find out what happened. Even though all of the towing companies are within 6 minutes of my location it still did not get my tire changed any faster. I still have not been told why AAA took so long to send the request for towing. The time from the phone call until the tow truck responded was 2 hours much longer than the 45 minutes I was promised.

As a brand-new AAA client and first-time user of AAA emergency roadside services, I can state without hesitation that our experience yesterday with both the local AAA-contracted towing company and with the AAA emergency roadside services customer service Supervisor 'Phil' is at the top of the worst and most unacceptable services and responses from a business/company and individual employee that I have ever had the mis-pleasure of dealing with.

Our vehicle died in someone's driveway across town from us. We were informed by the AAA rep, per AAA policy, that we had to be with our vehicle with our membership card/info and the keys at time of towing service. The rep stated that we would receive text updates as to the ETA, and the agreement was that we would be on-site 10-15 minutes before the tow truck arrived. The ETA was 4 hours out. Since we could not wait 4 hours at the residence and our other vehicle was also down, we arranged a ride back to our residence, and then arranged a ride back to the vehicle from a nice neighbor. The AAA rep suggested this, and we agreed.

At 6:35, with no ETA updates or calls, my wife called AAA. As she was on the phone with the rep who was informing us that our ETA had been pushed back, I received a call at the exact moment from the tow company dispatcher stating that the driver was on-site with the vehicle - an hour earlier than stated and without having called us or informed us in any way whatsoever. The dispatcher stated that she would inform the driver to wait for us at the vehicle (per AAA policy) as it would take at least 15 minutes to return to the vehicle. As my wife approached the site, the tow truck driver was observed leaving with our vehicle attached, in-tow and driving away. She stopped the operator and asked what was occurring. He stated he was taking it to our designated repair service facility (which we had agreed to).

The tow truck operator towed our vehicle with us being on-site. They towed it without having the key to access the ignition. They towed it improperly from the rear without engaging the neutral setting, potentially causing significant damage to the vehicle (we are awaiting word from our service facility). If my wife and neighbor had arrived on site 10 seconds later, or taken another route, they would never have encountered the tow operator removing the vehicle and would have found an empty spot where the car was supposed to have been, and no one had informed us of this at all. We wasted a trip and everyone's time in 4-degree weather conditions.

The tow operator even stated to the residence owner where the car was that she made contact with him and he stated to her that he was "fine and happy to wait". She then observed him hooking up our car and driving it away without our permission, without us being on-site, without making contact with us, without us presenting our AAA documents and without having the key. As the first AAA rep I spoke to stated, she was "appalled" by the manner in which the tow company and tow operator violated every single agreement that were directed by AAA to follow. She stated that he should not have done any of the above. She stated that the AAA contract with MacDonald's Towing in Kalamazoo, Michigan should be revoked by AAA due to their obvious and clear mis-management and the violation of AAA policies that we as clients were directed to follow. We followed those directives and agreements as documented.

When I spoke with 'Phil', the Supervisor at AAA emergency roadside assistance, the issue was not resolved. "Your vehicle got towed to your repair facility, right?" was the snide, sarcastic, impertinent, rude, dismissive customer service SUPERVISOR 'Phil's' ending comment to me. That's what AAA is standing by: that if your car made it from point A to point B, then they're golden. Anything in-between and any violations of the agreement that you just made with the AAA emergency service rep or violations of AAA policy are simply hairs to split and argue over.

That's all Phil did with me: Argue. Interrupt. Badger. Be combative. Question. Deny responsibility. Allay blame. Try to wear me down. Kept stating that he didn't understand, after I clearly explained the timeline and situation. Kept referring to his "notes" in the documentation, and then insinuating that we, as clients, had not followed AAA procedure somehow. Blame the towing company. Blame the tow operator. State clearly that the tow company and tow operator were at-fault. And somehow even blame US for having the keys to the car, and repeatedly asking me how the keys got to the repair facility (huh? My wife TOOK them there, since she always had them in her possession, while the tow operator never did!), and state that we did indeed receive a text update (it was simply the first text message stating that my new policy was accepted), and so that was good enough for AAA.

Good call, arguing with the client. This rep did EVERYTHING, that I, as a long-time, trained hospitality industry employee and self-employed business owner, have never been taught NOT to do when resolving or addressing valid issues and complaints with clients and customers. Even the first AAA rep I got on the phone said she was "appalled" by the many ways in which our service call went wrong, that none of it should have occurred as it did, and that the towing company should be relieved of their contract. So which is it, AAA? Do you truly feel that this episode is as simply as "we completed the contract" and "we got the car from A to B"? Are you listening, AAA (on social media)?

APPALLING. Absolute GARBAGE. This was to-date about the WORST customer service Supervisor and experience that I've ever had the mis-pleasure of being on the other end of. Complete arrogance and unwillingness to assist us. As a first-time AAA client, I can soundly state that the treatment and service we got was beyond sub-par. It was abysmal, and it is still unresolved. We simply wished a refund on our membership fee or at least one tow service placed back onto our account, but no. Nothing. As 'Phil' stated, "We did our job. Why should we refund your membership fee when we've done our job?" (that's a verbatim quote).

Great phone service. Just really long waits in zero weather. Called at 430. By 5 I was finished. They texted me at 5 to let me know they're dispatching. I called three times and was told some erosions saying 15-20 minutes and by 620 I get a text. They're on their way with an arrival at 640 which they showed up at. My issue is what's the point on relying on a company that states truth stretching (lies) about time line and uses verbiage such as "I apologize for the inconvenience"? I have to say I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service that has been propagated. It is 10 degrees outside that's pretty cold to be outside waiting or inside a car with no heat.

My AAA policy is an RV PLUS account which they sell to you as an upgrade to their base policy which among other things, promises to cover towing up to 100 miles. My son broke down today and was 40 miles from home. They refused to tow him because it was snowing and limited towing to only 25 miles due to the weather. The RV PLUS upsell is a scam. DO NOT BUY. I am cancelling as soon as I confer with counsel. Sounds like possible insurance fraud to me. I will be filing a complaint with the State's Attorney General's Office and The State Insurance Commissioner. Researching possible Class Action Lawsuit. Will post here if others have had similar experiences and wish to join the suit.

I've been a member of AAA for about 8 years. Never had any problems until day before yesterday when they renewed my membership without notifying me first, leaving me with a negative balance in my bank account. I called the customer service number and told them that I wanted the automatic renewal and automatic payments stopped immediately since that when they took my money without notifying me first, that I was left a negative balance in my bank account. So, I had to go to my bank and talk to someone there and that person gave me a number to call for their to dispute department. Well, after being on the phone with them for about 2-3 hours, the mess was finally straightened out because my bank put money into my account so there wouldn't be a negative balance. But, the matter still has not been resolved with AAA.

The person I talked to at my bank said that it would take about 15 days before I saw a dime from AAA. AAA emailed me and tried to say that there was no credit card on my account for automatic renewal, yet they still took my money! I told them that if the matter wasn't resolved, that I will be canceling my membership. I am not happy about what they did at all.

AAA advertised a marketing promo that if you signed up for a new membership, you would receive an email link to a gift card for $10. I called the AAA office five times to no satisfaction. All I am ever told is the link was mailed yet I never received it. It is the principal more than the value of the promo at this point and it is quite frankly false advertisement. I asked the rep to send me the email right then and there if it was already sent but shockingly he was unable. Highly disappointed in their lack of integrity. Will never renew again.

I called Triple A at 8 am to ask for an battery replacement of my cx 5 mazda. The guy Carlos from Affordable battery and towing came to my house and he confirmed he had the battery to be replaced. Later he told my car had a issue with the start system and the battery could be only changed after the system be fixed. While he was almost leaving, I replaced the battery of the key and the car started. The guy refused to exchanged the battery and told me he had already closed the case and another person of Triple A should come to replace it. I called again to ask another person. One hour later the same guy called letting me know he was coming back. Why did he leave without helping me out?

Anyway, when I thought my problem would be solved, he tells me he doesn't know how to exchange the battery and I would need to take my car to the dealer. I ask. What kind of service Triple A provides to customers? Why do they send incapable people to provide services? At 1:30 pm, after long hours at the phone complaining about this disrespectful situation they called me to find they couldn't find people to help me out in the area I live. I believe this advertisement is a lie to customers, the benefit of membership is not true and I felt that this company should treat customers the way they deserve.

I am a AAA client for more than 10 years. First in Tennessee then in Texas. Today was the third time that I needed them (I don't need them very often) and they never showed up. I'm cancelling my membership because why should I pay for a service that I never get. They made me wait almost two hours at a Walmart parking lot (my car ran out of battery. All I needed was a simple boost) and never came. A good Samaritan just came over and offered me help. Hard to believe in Texas! Anyways, going back to the AAA experience, it was real bad. It was 2 in the morning when I got home.

I have been a member of AAA for 36 years. I have had my cars insured through them for around 30 years and my home insured through them for around 18 years. Over the years AAA has cut back on the free services they offer. Mostly this didn't bother me since I didn't use those services much anyhow. However, recently I got a letter in the mail for AAA telling me that they won't be renewing my home owner's policy because our Jacuzzi didn't have water in it. The problem with this is that my Jacuzzi always has water in it. So I called AAA up and told them that my Jacuzzi always has water in it. Plus I didn't recall anyone calling to come to our property and inspect it. Sometimes AAA will send someone to look at a property and take photos.

I also pointed out that it would be impossible for someone to stop by our property and see the Jacuzzi because we keep the gates to our back yard locked. So the rep contacted the underwriter and asked about it. Turns out the person at the underwriter looked at a satellite photo of our property and because she could not see water in the Jacuzzi, she assumed there was none. Last time I checked, water is clear. It is typically impossible to tell of something contains water unless you get very close to it. Obviously you cannot tell from a satellite photo. Plus I pulled up the satellite photo and not only could I obviously not tell if there was water in the Jacuzzi, the photo itself had to be a minimum of two years old!

This is the most unprofessional conduct I have seen in a long time. The underwriter was too lazy to make an appointment to see the house and too ignorant to realize water is clear and you can't see it from a satellite photo. AAA did send someone to my house to photograph the Jacuzzi. However, I still have not been told if this is cleared up. So as long as I can match their price or beat their price, I have decided to cut all ties to AAA. It has been my policy all my life to blacklist companies that demonstrate such incompetence or irresponsible customer service.

Additionally, so far it's looking like dropping AAA will actually save me some money. For so many years I just renewed my policies without shopping around. I think that was a mistake. Also, the AAA membership is not really worth all that much. No more than I use the services, I'm money ahead. Plus there are so many other roadside assistance services out there. Do your homework, even some credit cards offer the service. In fact you might have another service and not even know it. AAA has gone downhill quite a bit.

NO STARS: When backing out of a driveway, the driver side rear wheel went into a ditch. AAA sent this company out and a young man completely connected the chain wrong to my car resulting in a bent tie rod, need for 2 new front tires, and an alignment. The driver quickly jumped in his truck and didn't even give me sheet to sign. I escalated this through AAA corporate. The owner called once, said he would talk to driver next day and call me back. He NEVER called me back even after I have left messages. This cost me $500 and they should be reimbursing me for the damage they caused to my car. Do not use their services. I had to call AAA again to find out claim denied by owner. Driver LIED and said we asked to use his chains and not put on rollback. The owner would not even call me back himself after multiple attempts and messages I have left.

The owner finally called me back 11/18. He was very condescending and called me a liar without saying the exact words. He stated AAA closed the ticket multiple times and he was tired of dealing with it. That AAA doesn't own his company and he was told he doesn't have to do anything to rectify this situation. He belittled me and called me a liar in 3 ways. This is not a professional. He was so rude. I have logged multiple complaints. AAA issued a ticket, hasn't resolved, and also didn't contact me that a claim has been "denied". They just put me in touch with the tow company they sent out. No one is taking responsibility. This has been going on for over a month without any resolution.

I get towed to the station, which informs me they are closing in 30 minutes and couldn't do anything with my car till the next day. Wasted tow. Call AAA again and said I wanted a long distance tow, since I was in Timbuctoo, and had nowhere to go. They attempted to discourage me from using a long distance tow, telling me it would be several hours before they could make it out. I insisted on the tow and they were there within an hour. Nice! I get towed in at 9:30 in the evening to my home.

Two days later, I call AAA for a tow to the Chevy dealer with my truck. They inform me that since I was already towed, they will not tow this vehicle any longer. Since I had a 200 mile tow and 3 100 mile tows, who the hell do they think they are, telling me how to use my tows? I now have to call a tow truck and pay out of pocket. I won't be renewing. ** triple A! The attitudes and trying to talk me out of this and that. I will sign on with another service. At 200.00, AAA isn't cheap at all and they can keep their attitudes and lack of service.

She is the first impression of the AAA organization as we walk in the door. However, she has that look on her face that says "I HATE MY JOB." Not sure if her previous jobs were at the DMV or some other hostile place like a prison reception. She never wears a name tag. I would really like to know her name so that the right person can be addressed. I can only describe her as short, medium build, light complexion, black curly hair shoulder length. No accent, maybe Hispanic or Middle Eastern descent. The other staff are very nice, courteous, and friendly. Thinking some customer service training is in order. If it is personality driven I would not want her representing my company. When I see her as the only person at the counter I dread going to the desk.

The worse customer service ever! They lack the tools needed to provide at least the minimal amount of service! Uncoordinated and untrustworthy! Waited for over 3 months to resolve an issue that was suppose to be resolved within 30 days, according to one of their employees. To make a long story short, I submitted a reimbursement form before I went on a three week vacation. I called the day I left and they said it was being process, that I had to wait 30 day. On returning in mid-August I figure I'll give them a courtesy call. When doing so found out that it hasn't even started to be processed, to give it a 7-10 days. After that I called again, and they said they couldn't find the paperwork, to give it another week or so. From there they keep giving me the "call next week" excuse. This keep on going for weeks and spoke to several of people, and it's like no one knew what the hell was going on. It became very ** frustrating.

Started to think they were doing deliberately. So I figure why, stress, and wait it out. Now it's mid-November. I finally got my refund, instead of refunding me the full amount like stated from the beginning, or as a courtesy because of all the lies, **, and incompetent service that was provide I was refunded 51% of refund. It's better than nothing, but now I know for next time "IF" there ever was to be a next time. I don't know what else to say but with technology these days it shouldn't have taken that long. My suggestion is when planning a service plan, I believe more emphasis should be put into proper training and communication. FYI the waiting wasn't the problem, the unreliability, untrustworthy, and the lack of communication within AAA's Mid-Atlantic Customer Relations caused the issue.

I got a flat tire traveling back home with my wife and our 2 dogs. We were still a ways out so I called AAA for a tow (I am paying for the service so why not). I was checking on the car when the AAA finally answered. My wife talked to the CSR and told me he was rude and tried to make her feel as if she didn't know where she is at. She told him we were southbound on I25 a mile north of exit 257. He kept telling her that she was northbound. I finally talked to him and said I needed a flat bed for my AWD car. He told me someone was being dispatched.

One hour goes by and no update. I call again and speak to a different rep. He tells me that a driver will be at my location in 20 minutes. I asked for the trucking company's name and he said he didn't know which one it will be. To me this meant that no one was even on their way until I called again. 2 hours go by before I receive a call from the driver.

He asks me if I was south of 257. I told him that the AAA rep was wrong and that we were north of 257 in the southbound lane. The driver finally arrived and if it wasn't for his great personality and willingness to help I would have canceled my AAA later that night. I have used AAA many times before and this is the first time that I had a bad experience with the CSR's over the phone. If the trend continues I will definitely be looking for AAA alternatives.

But mind you I was on I71 on shoulder where no one goes 65, they fly by 75, 80. The first 2 agents stated they agreed I was in an UNSAFE AREA... that I was a "priority". Then at 4:06 I received a call from a AAA NUMBER stating his driver can't locate me. 2 HOURS AND YOU CAN'T FIND ME. BS. THEY NEVER TRIED. I GAVE THEM MY LOCATION BETWEEN EXIT 25 AND 26... I was the only car broke down with hazards. Then he says, "Well we had car accidents before you so we are behind." Then he hung up. I call back...

Fast forward to 6:30 a police officer pulled up behind and I showed him all my texts from AAA and phone call logs. He said, "Lady they are not coming. It is dangerous for you to be here on the highway by yourself. I can't believe you have been here over 4 hours." Then AAA tells me I have to pay a private tow company and they will reimburse me. Then at 6:56 a supervisor calls named, "Alex"... and says "I am so sorry didn't anyone tell you, DISPATCH IS DOWN!!!" I said "don't you think if I would have know 5 hours ago you were not coming because dispatch is down I would have called a private company, towed it to tire discounters and then gone home in 2 hours vs. 5 1/2 hours and no resolution.

So now I have to miss a half days work... call AAA again to be towed to tire discounters on 11/2. Do not waste your money... especially if you are a woman. They lie to you and say you are next, a priority and say they feel bad that the highway is unsafe. Remember current AAA customers that these calls are all recorded. Spread the word. I will be cancelling my membership tomorrow. The only good thing that happened, a kind police officer got me a tow truck in 20 minutes with 1 call.

In both cases the very first question I was asked was: "Are you safe?" Yes. In both cases help was dispatched quickly. Both times our troubles were sorted out quickly turning potentially major issues into minor inconveniences. Companies like AAA hear a lot of negatives when people are mad because they didn't get their way but people rarely take the time to tell them when they're doing a good job. Then I called AAA back that afternoon to complain about this experience and the girl connected me to a supervisor of which I left a voicemail and I HAVE not heard a word from anyone to talk to me about my awful day.
