Why can people not listen? I explain my story and then they have to go through their series of questions like a robot. They totally screwed up my tow service request because they can't listen to the proper name of the cross street. Help me here... Does Seacrest & Caney Fork Rd sound anything close? This was only the start. I got so frustrated trying to explain to Nicole that I just asked to talk to another person. She was Miss High & Mighty, Ratrina, and wanted to talk down to me. Really? I was given different reasons why they would not accept the tow and were trying to make me pay for additional services to get my car out of the garage and not damage my driveway. Again... Really? I have determined that they do everything they can not to help. Too many rules and reasons why it can't be done. I agree with many of the other people writing complaints/reviews on AAA that it is just not worth the money.

My wife and I went to Grapevine Texas downtown and found our car would not start and called Triple AAA. They called and it was many hours later and had a tow truck driver that almost drove off the road and was bragging he was a great driver and hit the wall and door of the auto place early in the morning. By the time we got back to our hotel it was six and a half an hour later. Triple AAA would not be honest when it came to the time for anybody to come out to see our car. I told the auto place when they fixed our car what the triple AAA driver did to their door for it was 12:30 in the morning when he dropped off the car.

This year I renewed my membership with AAA and added Motorcycle and RV towing for an extra fee. The first time about four months ago, I called for a tow from my house to the Harley Dealer. They sent me a motorcycle tow truck which was perfect. When the bike was done a few days later, I called for a tow from the Harley dealer, back to my home, they sent a flat bed. Once the driver got to my home and started to loosen the straps on the bike, he didn't do them evenly and dropped the bike on its side. I was furious, luckily, it didn't damage the paint, but it was scuffed. I didn't call in on him as he said he was a new driver, and didn't have too much experience loading motorcycles.
The second time I called for a tow, was about two weeks ago, about 12 midnight the bike had stopped a few blocks from my home. I called in and the representative told me the tow truck driver would be there in an hour and 15 minutes. I asked "Was this for the motorcycle tow truck," and she said "It's for the flat bed, that's what we use for our motorcycles." I told her that there was a motorcycle tow truck that AAA sent and she said "I have no idea what you're talking about," I told her to check my history. She insisted I didn't know what I was talking about. She said Beltran towing didn't have that truck, I explained to her that they had picked up the bike before from my home. After getting nowhere with her I asked if there was any way they could send someone sooner for safety reasons, she said call the police and they can sit with me.
I ended up getting help without AAA assistance and canceled the tow. Just this weekend, I called for a motorcycle tow truck, to driver pulled up, I greeted him, he gets out of the truck, and as he lets the backdown, he says, "I don't know how to load motorcycles." Here we go again, I called AAA Sunday morning to speak to a customer service representative that tells me their drivers are well trained to tow motorcycles, I said think again.
That Saturday night the dispatch of the tow yard Shaun had called to tell me the ETA of the driver, and once the driver left with towing to motorcycle, I called him back and told him his driver said he didn't know how to tow a motorcycle, he said "Oh my apologies." I'm paying all this extra money every year and these people can only tow cars, come on AAA get some well trained and qualified drivers or stop charging us extra.

I went into the AAA store to get my car's condenser replaced and after I get my car back, I honk my horn when I'm driving at a bad driver and my horn has no sound. Come to find out, AAA forgot to rewire the horn when they did other stuff so I had to take my car back. Receptionist there was a tool and didn't have much knowledge of the location of the horn either so that sucked. Complete disgrace. Don't recommend them at all for the Cary, NC location off Tryon Road. They are trash.

I called at 7:45 am for a tow, after giving all necessary information, they told me that the driver would be there at 9:01 am. Sounds good. I looked up the driver's information. They open at 8:30 am, looks good. I should be the 1st in line. NOT, I received 3 text messages pushing back the arrival time to 10:10 am. It is now 10:30 am waiting for the driver. I called AAA, they said they will call the driver, he said he is on a call and has another one after that, so that long story short I don't know when they will get here, save the time and aggravation and just call a local guy. AAA said if I do that they will reimburse me partially for the local guy. I call, the lady conveniently could not tell me how much.
See what it seems they do is dispatch it out, a company picks it up and keeps ahold of it while he takes more profitable calls, once he slows down then he will report to your location. I don't know about you but time is important to me, I don't know how much the good Lord gave me, so I try to use it wisely. You should do the same.

I recently went online for a quote for auto insurance from AAA, and when I received the online quote, it was unacceptable. They sent me a follow up email which stated that so and so would like to follow up with me about the quote. I declined, responded that the quote was too high, and I thanked them for their time. They called me anyway, after I said I did NOT want to discuss it any further. I told the young male that I specifically left that information in their email, and he hung up in my face. This is AAA? Okay. Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad I found out about the types you hire to represent you before I might've plunked my money down. Contrary to what you may think, you're not the only shop in town. Thanks for nothing.

AAA.com or AAA Automobile of Southern California is what I called the scum of the scums! This is the worst insurance company I have ever used. I would rather be in hell than to deal with this company. They gouged us thousands of dollars! Run and don't even try them --- you will be screwed! They will promise you rates that will double in 3 weeks. Then charge you for large cancellation fees when you back out because of the doubled rate and huge hike in price!

Today I made a call to bring a couple of concerns to Triple A's attention. The first call I will get to in a moment but it's the second called that I'm more concerned with because I feel this customer service representative was incredibly rude. Her name is Paige and the phone call was made at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Once I voiced my complaint about the previous call and asked to have it resolved, instead of apologizing for the mistake of the previous employee or showing any kind of understanding or remorse, Paige decides to condescendingly correct me and make it seemed as if I did something wrong.
In my initial concern one of the things that I asked for was to get a refund because I felt that the previous representative was dishonest. Instead of saying I would be happy to void that payment for you, she says something along the lines of "if you cancel it you're just not going to be covered after September 1st". She was very indifferent, noncaring, wasn't even the least bit concerned with the dishonesty of the previous representative I spoke with. I called her out on it as you'll hear in the phone call and I reiterated what I wanted done. Then she tells me "I'm going to contact that call center and see if they can put a void on that payment". This was also the wrong thing to say considering AAA's refund policy. So she said the word "if" knowing that she had no choice but to honor my refund request.
Then she put me on hold for 5 or 6 minutes without getting on the line letting me know that she's still in the process of resolving it. She then gets back on the line and says that the original representative I spoke with voided the payment and that it would be back in my account in 3 to 5 business days. I then ask her first name again. She said Paige and then I said "ok bye." Then she says in an insincere yet robust happy voice "THANK YOU SO MUCH AAA". It felt like a backhanded compliment. No empathy or apology whatsoever. No attempt to elicit a positive response from me whatsoever. Just a dry vindictive customer service experience.
Prior to speaking to Paige I spoke with another representative whose name I don't remember. The call was at 2:22 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and it was with a gentleman. I brought up two concerns first of which was to remove the auto-renewal and I made it clear that I was doing this because "I can't afford to renew this month". He told me that he removed it and then I asked him very specifically "if I am able to extend my membership by upgrading my membership like last time". He seemed to understand me and said yes "it will just be $26 and some change more".
To be clear the question I asked was related to when I previously upgraded my membership from basic to a plus last year. When I upgraded they also extended the expiration date to the day I upgraded. If you listen to the phone call you will hear this gentleman stating that it is just $26 more. Nowhere in the phone call does he state the full price of $127 (+change) like a company is supposed to do when taking someone's credit card information over the phone. Essentially he was dishonest by omission. He didn't verify the amount or ask for my approval. He just charged the card. As a result of these two interactions I will never do business with AAA again. It looks like my good old fashion car insurance company will have to do!

I've been a member for over 20 years and am in the middle of my 3rd ever call. We're approaching our 4. I've called 3 times. I've tried to download and use their app, but it's useless. It's 94 degrees out, my shade is gone and I have no water. Each time I've called, I've been told 45 minutes. I started in the left turn lane of a busy intersection. After the first 30 minutes a nice man stopped and helped to push me to the shoulder. There was an incline so we ended up blocking the driveway of a business. For the next two hours, I was yelled at. Finally, a couple stopped to further push my car out of the way. Thank goodness for strangers, because the people I've PAID for 20 years for this service obviously don't give a damn about service or safety!!! I'm cancelling this membership and ALL of my insurance policies! So disappointed. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Sorry I had to give 1 star... I wouldn't give any if I could. After giving the AAA phone agent my location, after a flat tire on our RV, (mile marker, interstate route, direction of travel, and state), I was told "I can't find you that way. What town are you in?" I was 5 miles from the nearest town. She couldn't help me. Got switched to another rep. Told him I wanted road side assistance to change the tire. He offered a tow truck. I didn't want a tow truck, just change the tire. I was told then "I have no services for you". That was the end of AAA involvement. Googled a recovery truck and handled it ourselves. What a worthless service. This is only half the story. Does everyone know AAA will only change a flat if you provide a mounted spare!!! Who carries these in the pusher coaches? Why do you think you can't buy one as an option when you buy the coach.
AAA policy won't let you buy one from a recovery truck because "they don't know where it came from"???. After talking to member services about their policy that literally handcuffs the stranded motorist, they said they will review their policy. Don't hold your breath... Just cancel your membership. They simply won't offer the services you need.

I broke down on the side of the freeway in CA about 75 miles from my home in Reno. Was on the phone over 15 minutes with AAA until someone picked up. Was told I was a priority because of my location. Well, AAA didn't show up for over an hour and then I was told that the AAA tow trucks were not allowed to cross state lines or something like that, so I would be towed to Verdi, NV, (which makes no sense because obviously it was across the state line), where another tow truck would be there to tow me the rest of the way. I get to Verdi, there is no tow truck so I wait for about 20 min and decide to call them. I was told that my call had been cleared, they had no knowledge of another truck that was supposed to come so I would have to wait. It took them another hour and a half to get to me in Verdi, and when they finally came, it only took 30 min for me to get home. I have never been so dissatisfied with a company in all my life.

So I subscribed this morning thinking I could then call and have them open my car for me. Well guess what, this sub-par company takes a FULL DAY to start. You literally pay them and they aren’t able to do anything until the next day. What kind of company is that??? Okay it’s like paying you money to get me food then you end up coming back with stale food. I am very frustrated and annoyed at AAA and this SLOW service.

I had a major blow out in the right rear of my 2010 Audi Q5, the AAA driver could not inflate the space saver spare? So, he decides to hook me up and Drag my car onto his Flatbed Truck backwards? The problem I am having is the frame shifted and it makes weird sounds when I am driving down the road.
I had the Tire Assembly changed due to a manufacturers defect in one of these Continental LX20 tires, I somehow do not Trust the way the vehicle rides and the Continental LX20 tire feel? Next week I plan on bringing the vehicle back to the Audi Dealership to have the entire frame & tires inspected for any major malfunctions caused by dragging the car backwards while in Park! If there is Frame Damage, you can bet your sweet ** that I will get a lawyer and sue for vehicle damages caused by the AAA Motor Club Road Service. Just a little common sense is all we needed! If you are contemplating signing up for membership I hope you're here to read reviews first. We have been a member for 20 years. For the first time my car broke down twice this week and when I called AAA for Roadside Assistance since my car was blocking a major intersection, I was told their "Rush Roadside Assistance" will take 2.5 hours! Why label it "rush" if I have to wait 2 hours??? I called them several times to follow up and they kept saying the same lame script of an excuse: we don't have enough tow truck drivers, our tow truck drivers picked up priority cases first. I was in the middle of an intersection blocking traffic and that's not a priority? Finally I called a different towing company to tow my car to the repair shop.
Today my car broke down again and they're making me wait 2+ hours for a tow truck! Why? They gave me the same script. I called customer service and I get someone with low IQ who made me hold on the phone for 10 minutes and just passed me to someone's voicemail. Please save yourself the trouble and skip AAA. I don't know what we're paying them for. Look for service somewhere else.

In 2016 I renewed and upgraded my AAA membership to a Plus Membership with automatic renewal through my bank account. This March 2017 they did not auto renew and canceled my membership and sent me a letter stating the cancellation. I called and paid over the phone and renewed the plus membership and made sure it was set up for Auto renew as they told me the local office had not set it up. Today is July 18, 2017. I call the road side assistance to get a tow. The man states I only have Basic service and can only get towed 3 miles. I told him, "No. I paid for plus and have the card in my hand that shows I have a Plus Membership." He proceeds to tell me I got online and canceled the plus membership on May 16th. I calmly explained to him that that was not possible as I was in Ireland on a trip I booked through them and did not have access to a computer as well as I have nor set up an online account.
He told me the money was refunded to me. I check my back account while in the phone with him. No. I was not refunded any money. Then he told me it was added as a credit to my AAA account. I told him again I did not authorize this and asked him why it was done and who did it. He then told me it was done because of the cancellation in March. I asked him why when I paid for the Plus Membership and renewed it in March as soon as I got the letter. He then told me I would have to talk to the local office when they were open after trying to get a straight answer from him for 20 minutes. As soon as I mentioned that this looks like fraud to me, the customer service agent then put the credit back toward my membership and put it back to the Plus Membership I originally paid for.
Something fishy is up here! They downgraded my membership with no notice to me and kept my money. Why? Do they really need the interest that bad? Maybe they do! Showing assets I guess?! I don't know. I have only used their road side assistance once in 2011 for a dead battery in my driveway. I got a jump and was on my way. Meanwhile, It is 7:30 pm and my husband is broke down on the side of the highway in the middle of the Oregon desert in the heat waiting for a tow truck he had to pay out of pocket. I am Way beyond disappointed. Yes BBB will hear from me and probably a few other "officials" no matter the explanation the people at local office give when I go there tomorrow.

July 2017 I was a passenger, along with my two granddaughters, in a friends truck. She is also a AAA member. We had a blowout and limped off freeway on the off ramp in a very dangerous spot. We were stuck on off ramp. Called AAA and told them and they said they would expedite for us. An hour later and several bear misses from being hit our driver calls. Seems dispatch sent him to the wrong place. He was not far from us. We directed him. He shows up in a little Nissan pickup at 9:41 pm, starts to back up then pulls forward then just takes off!!! Leaving two women in their 50s and two young teen granddaughters!!
We tried to call his number back but no answer. We called AAA. Put on hold then finally answer and said we were flipping him off and shouting obscenities. WHAT?? No such thing happened and now we are stranded. Long story short they "claimed" there were no tows available. We ask for CHP as we were in a very bad spot. AAA gave a wrong location again and now both Chp and any available tow were looking for us. 5 hrs later we saw a CHP across hwy. Called Chp and told dispatch we see their unit. We were found and Chp said we were lucky we were not killed. He had to close off ramp so the tow could change our tire and then get us off freeway b/c now our battery was dying due to charging our phone which was our lifeline. We no water or food with us and it was 100+ that day and still hot at night. AAA has yet to contact me back regarding my complaint.

I called AAA on July 17th at 1:30 pm because I have the premier service & my car broke down 221 miles from home. The dispatcher told me it would take an hour & a half to get to me. Well almost 2 hours pass, so I call again because I hadn't gotten any updates whatsoever. They then proceed to tell me nobody has been sent out yet because they called 8 different tow truck companies & nobody wants to tow us that far. THEN they verify my phone number & it's WRONG which explains why I hadn't gotten any updates.
So here I am, still stranded 221 miles from home & by the time the tow truck gets here it'll be 5 hours stranded. I shouldn't have to pay the 21 miles due to poor service & being left stranded for 5 hours. That's not okay. Now I'll have to miss my best friend's wedding reception & also pay an arm & a leg for service I shouldn't have to pay for due to lack of negligence. Very, VERY displeased & considering getting rid of my service with AAA.

I am furious about my roadside service this evening. My car overheated on the freeway, leaving my children and I stranded on the shoulder of a busy freeway at 10:30pm. I called AAA roadside and was told they'd send out someone within 30-90 minutes. I was texted that the service request was submitted. A tow truck driver leaves me a message on my phone that they couldn't find me so I called back. I also called CHP for assistance as I was not feeling that we were safe on the side of a busy freeway (880s from Oakland to Hayward). CHP finds me and calls AAA. I call again confirming information and again stating that we are four people in the car and did not feel safe on the side of the freeway. CHP leaves and asks us to keep our seatbelts fastened and stay in the car. They said someone will come.
We waited over an hour and a half and a tow truck driver came. He said AAA called him to tow us. He said he can give two of a ride in his truck and suggested I call an UBER service to pick up the other two people (my young children) as they wait on the side of the freeway. He insisted that I give him my membership information so he can start on the paperwork. I said absolutely not and asked him to call AAA for an alternative idea. After some time, he returns to my car and said he will tow me and AAA will call CHP to drive two of us while he tows my car and take the other two passengers. When CHP arrives, the driver takes off, leaving all four of us with CHP and our car, untowed, stranded on the side of the road. After waiting some time and seeing that it was almost 1:00am, CHP slowly guides my vehicle off the side of the freeway since no one came.
I am unsure why the tow truck driver left us and why he would suggest that I call an UBER for my children on the side of a busy freeway. CHP was also confused why he drove off as they arrived. I am very upset about this service. The driver of the tow truck took down my information. He asked that I fill out the form for him. His license plate number is **. He did not give me a copy of the form I filled out before he drove off. I called and spoke to roadside assistance about my experience today. They were not sure why the driver drove off. I have been a member of AA since 2001. It is unacceptable that when I need the service the most, the service provided was subpar.

I flagged down a passerby that was kind enough to let me use his phone. I placed a call to the phone number displayed on my membership card. After a 10 to 15 minute wait an agent answered and advised me that my membership area was FL. and as I was in N.C. I would have to be transferred to that area. My call was then transferred and after another 10 to 15 minute wait an agent answered.
After obtaining my membership info and vehicle description, the agent advised me that I did not have motorcycle coverage. I advised her that I did in fact have M/C coverage and it was so stated on my membership card. My call was then disconnected for unknown reason. I again called the number on my card and after another 10 to 15 minute wait an agent answered and again transferred my call to N.C. Before she hung up I obtained the direct number for N.C. in case of another disconnect. Again after 10 to 15 minutes an agent answered and I went through the process again. The agent advised that as I did not have M/C Coverage I would have to pay for the tow. I didn't argue and said to just send a tow.
When asked for my phone number I gave it, but advised that it was my cell phone number, but that I did not have service in the area so I couldn't be contacted at that Number. I advised the agent that I was using the cell phone of a passerby who would be leaving. After confirming my exact location, etc., the agent advised that a tow would arrive within 1 hour. After waiting for an hour and a half, I called the N.C. office again, using the phone of another passerby. When I inquired about the tow, the agent said the tow had been canceled, but couldn't explain the reason or who had canceled the tow. Again after confirming my info and location the agent advised that a tow would be sent. Again after being asked for my phone number, I explained the phone situation again.
After another hr and a half, my daughter arrived to pick me up. A farmer that had equipment in a field next to the road allowed me to leave my bike concealed among his equipment. After getting into a cell phone service I found two phone messages from 3A. The first message was in response to my first request. The agent advised that they needed a little more information before they could send a tow. I had given them all of my membership info, a detailed description of my motorcycle, and a detailed description of my location and the agent had said she could see where I was. The second call was from another 3A agent advising that they would be unable to provide a tow that weekend, but they would be happy to provide me with some tow services that may be able to help.
I have since discovered that in spite of 3A's advertising that they provide 24/7 service, that it isn't necessarily true. 3A is a sort of franchise type operation, with different offices handling different states, and they aren't necessarily next to each other. Even though you have 3A service, they may not provide tow service and you will be on your own to find a tow service. The agents I dealt with never advised me of that situation, or the fact that if you do have to find a tow, 3A will reimburse you.
Very disappointed in 3A after being a member for over 24 years. If they are the top of the line in roadside service companies I feel sorry for folks that have less expensive coverage. Upon me following up on my complaint to their customer relations unit, I was informed that 3A is going to pay for my membership next year. That ought to be interesting. Free coverage for tow service that doesn't show up. Wonder how they are going to write that up. I am unable to provide an order number as I was never given one. I also don't have a receipt as a tow never showed.

I have had to use AAA to start my car 4 x in the past two years. Mostly due to a faulty battery they installed in the car the first time. Each time, the automated voice promises to connect me to the office closest to my current location. Instead, the operator is always several states away. This last time she refused to send out help because the account is in my husband's name. She refused to investigate my status as "associate member," and instead insisted that my husband needed to be present in order for work to be done on the car. She refused to accept the fact that we are married and share a membership.
This went on for 10 minutes or so, before she finally transferred me to a supervisor near my location, as per my repeated demand for that. That operator was able to identify me within seconds, and sent help. But when I complained about the repeated waste of time due to a faulty system and incompetent operators, he doubled down and defended the last operator, and the electronic system that never connects you to the right location when you are in need. Emergency service? Not ok.

Fast forward to renewal time and I receive a notice that they will be discontinuing me because my information, that I called them about 5 months prior, was incorrect. Took 4 weeks of calling and being told they'll call me on Monday to finally get it resolved. Never received a phone call as promised and each person gave a different story. In the end the solution was simple and solved by a wonderful representative that did her job instead of passing me onto the next representative.

We were afraid for our lives. We decided not to check in and continued on another two hours only to arrive here North Carolina trying to find another hotel and were unsuccessful. We ended up having to sleep in a parking lot. I contacted AAA and they indicated that they would try to give us a voucher or Ray I'm American Express gift certificate. I went to Terry Labonte's Chev and they told me this is NOT true. It was $24 vs $52. If your company needs money this bad it is NOT right to lie to your customers. You just lost me.

AAA Road Service changed a flat tire for her and put an uninflated donut tire on her car and told her she was set to drive, the donut fell off the rim in one half miles but AAA stated that they weren't responsible because the event could not have happened. Ridiculous!

After initiating a phone call for tow. Break down on the side of the road in Florida at 11:58 am this past Sunday. There was still no tow truck at 1:30. I talked to six different people altogether mostly one worse than the other except for the fifth man named Leon. Wherever he was who was truly contrite and apologetic. AAm Allstate road ranger who stopped gave me the wrong mile marker but every time I spoke to one of the AA representatives I explained what town I was in although I had the wrong mile marker. NO ONE WAS LISTENING FULLY.
I was finally able to get in touch with the original scheduled tow company in Punta Gorda while I was broke down in Seffner well over an hour north of there. He said he was over an hour away from me at mile marker 158 while I was over at mile marker 257 and 260 although I did not know that till he told me at 1:38. Reinitiated a call. This would now be the fourth person I spoke to after the previous girl sassed me. I explain to six different people where I was exactly where I was BUT nobody was listening. I even had one rep who sounded like she was on something and thought I was the tow company and not the customer!! After which she just abandoned the whole call then I had to start all over again.
But your last person who actually finally got the call initiated. Of course I was not feeling too happy by the time I spoke to him although I remained polite. But this man needs sensitivity training. He doesn't have a clue how to handle it properly. I don't know who you're hiring or where these people are but I did clean that you need a far more sophisticated system to figure out where people are. This last guy acted like I was completely stupid because I didn't know where I was. At which mile marker. How many people are driving down the road. Looking at mile markers I would like to know we are all just focusing on defensive driving so we are not killed by the crazy people out there!! No I didn't know where I was but I sure knew what town I was in.
Four and a half hours later I was on my way home with Shamrock Towing which was about 30 minutes from where I was. Thank heaven for Albert, he was the only breath of fresh air in the day. Albert from Shamrock what a gem, calm and polite and efficient and careful. I must mention that it was 90 degrees in the shade although we were sweltering. Be the Sun on the side of the road where after a while tempers flare in these situations. My husband, impatient and angry, began exhibiting terribly frightening, irresponsible behavior over the incident although luckily for you he was not in contact with the customer service reps. The whole lack of professionalism was so highly stressful that I can't even describe it and normally I take most things in stride.
I have been a business owner for 32 years. While I was waiting for what I thought was the first tow truck to come I actually looked on your website and saw that you have a lowly one-star rating. I don't know who runs this stuff but if it were me I would never find that acceptable. I know this is nationwide and you are only as good as the people you hire but either they are not being treated right, they are not being paid fairly, or someone's handling of training them is inefficient to put it mildly and kindly. I have been a long time Triple-A member but I spoke with five or six people in the space of 24 hours following the incident who had nothing but negative things to say about your service. I am very seriously going to reconsider not rebooking mine in July. I am a plus member and has been for years. I have bought membership for my children for years.
I just can't believe some of these reviews I’m reading and that nobody's doing ANYTHING about it!! Or are you? If you are you should write some kind of a customer blog or letter to explain that you have some kind of problem in your system that you are going to correct!! People appreciate an effort and they appreciate honesty. You need to learn something from the voice of experiences, the people who are out there bad-mouthing you!! How can it one hour response time turn into some of these stories that you see online? I hope this gets to the right person. AAA really needs to pull itself together. I would be ashamed to have a one-star rating!!
BTW there never was any problem with any tow company I ever had dispatched to me when I used my AAAroad service. Instead it was always your "customer service" that was the source of disappointment. If you are raising your prices all the time why aren't you raising your standards? WAKE UP AND DO WHAT YOU PROMISE TO DO AND WHAT WE SCRAPE SOMETIMES TO PAY FOR A SENSE OF SECURITY and EFFICIENCY THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE. Really now!!!

It defeats the purpose of paying for a membership when you can't even use the service. They should review their policy if they don't want to lose members. I am in the process of finding other options and will stay only, if only, they change their policies. To wait over 4 hours for a tow on a nice day with no weather issues is not acceptable. Apparently, AAA does not have a contract with enough tow companies in the area to provide adequate service for its customers. We have been a customer for over 50 years and service has declined.

All the traffic maps showed no issues anywhere. I called and asked for a supervisor and was told the same thing. I told her none of the traffic maps showed any issue. She said her maps also showed no problems. I asked for the name of the towing company only to find out the company was based in Buena Vista, which is 3 hours to the west of Colorado Springs.
The supervisor was told they were having a hard time getting tow truck drivers in Colorado Springs. I called the towing company and was told the driver was stuck north of the springs. Finally the supervisor told me she found another company 3 miles away and it would be 15 minutes (turns out it was the company from Buena Vista and they were just getting there). However, something I never thought I would do, I am not renewing my membership & am looking elsewhere for my roadside assistance. I recently needed help with a flat but they couldn't/wouldn't assist me. The most basic of roadside services and AAA couldn't deliver. A large commercial tow truck was sent. I was inside a property that was gated, large enough gate for my truck but not for such a large commercial vehicle. The driver told me to drive my truck out to the gate. No. I was not going to drive nearly 500' over rough terrain, damaging my rim shredding the tire. So what did he do? He left. AAA said that was the only assistance in my area so, although I paid for such service, they couldn't help me. No problem AAA. I now wave good-bye and am going through Costco for my auto insurance and roadside assistance. You've lost me forever.

We are new to AAA, joined in 2017. The other night, parked in my garage, the car would not start. I called AAA and they were there within about half an hour. A very nice young man jumpstarted the car for me. A few days later, parked at a local park, the car again would not start. Again, within half an hour (earlier than the expected wait time!) help arrived. This time, another nice young man performed a diagnostic test on the car's systems. He was very honest about the battery showing it still had some life in it, but pointed out where it had acid leaking.
Rather than take a chance on it happening again, I decided to purchase a new battery, which he installed right away. The phone operators were friendly and helpful, calling me back with updated information, taking the time to find my exact right location. The service technicians were excellent and really nice, too. I've seen so many negative reviews of AAA but so far, they have been nothing less than excellent.

I was stranded in Philadelphia PA at the cancer hospital with my friend's vehicle. I had a AAA account so I decided to call them to tow us to the nearest station. My friend had thought that the alternator was the problem. He was told that they would take the car to the nearest AAA service station. He obtained the number to that station and called. Because we were running late and he feared they could not get the part for his car, he instructed them to buy a starter and install it when we arrived.
When we arrived at one of the AAA owned service centers which we had no choice to go to, the mechanic put the starter in the car. It wasn't the starter that was the problem. The car was there for 3 days and they couldn't find the problem. After 3 days the manager Bill said it was the ground wire to the starter. It took them 3 days to fix a simple problem and with all the inconvenience of us going back and forth to Philadelphia repeatedly they still charged my friend $400 dollars for a 5 dollar part. What was worse they took the old starter out and we have an old starter. These are the most incompetent mechanics I have ever seen in my entire life. AAA takes advantage of stranded motorists in a despicable way by overcharging and not doing quality work.

My vehicle wouldn't start so I called AAA at approx 5:45. The phone call took a while because the customer service rep couldn't get my location to "verify" in their system. The location that was finally put in the system was two roads and approx 1 mile away from where I actually was (but they didn't tell me that, I found out later by looking online). I was given a 2 hour window for when the tow driver might show up but said it could be sooner.
After an hour of no contact I checked the website and saw the location I supposedly was waiting at on the map. I saw that my service request had been dispatched. I called AAA again and spoke to the CSR and was told they would and a note into the service ticket about my location. They also told me the driver was at an emergency call and would be there after that. It shouldn't be much longer. At the 2 hour mark I called again and was told it shouldn't be much longer. The driver was finishing up a call and he would probably be there in 20-30 min.
After another hour (3 hours) and no contact, I looked at the website again and my request had moved back to call received (not dispatched). I called again and as soon as the CSR saw that it had already been 3 hours she called the "service provider" while I was on hold. She came back and said that they had switched me to another tow driver that was dropping a vehicle near my location and he should be there in 20 min. Well the 20 min came and went and still nothing.
The driver finally got to my location right at the 4 hour mark. BTW: He called me from where it was flagged that I was (and of course wasn't). I explained all about the note that was supposed to be added to the request. The shop that my vehicle was being taken to was approx 20 min away and my house is less than 5 mins from the shop. I got home 5 hours after my initial phone call with AAA. This is not acceptable.

I called and told it would be 3 hours or more for pickup. I'm 20 minutes outside of Tallahassee. Told your primary contractor had only 1 truck in service that day. Really. You hire people who can't service customers with any predictability? Totally unacceptable. I had to keep on the dispatcher to find a better answer. I had to initiate her looking three times at least. In the end she found someone who could be there in an hour. After spending thirty minutes looking. Again. I'm not that far away from Tally. I was having bad cell service and told her my signal was spotty and irregular. I had to climb up an interstate overpass embankment to get even a weak signal. She couldn't help that. But she could have moved slightly faster in case I lost the signal again. I don't blame the dispatcher. She was trying. But it did take me to move her along. Otherwise I would have been in the hot Sun for 3 hours or more.
When I returned home the tow truck driver got in my car and left grease stains on the seat from his pants and on the carpet from his boots. I'm still trying to clean it up. But the question is... why should I be having to do it in the first place? He also dumped the car in my street with the tail end sticking out several feet. Fortunately it's a quiet street. Sloppy. Sloppy. And as far as the car left sticking out... I could move it. I did. But I know how to handle things. What if it's was an older woman? Or someone unfamiliar with cars? So... in summary... bad experience. This is the second time I've gone through this type of thing with you guys.
Substandard service from your suppliers. The last time I was stuck at 10 at night and they refused to take my car home because it was "too far". And I was having a tire problem but they couldn't even loosen the lug nuts. Took me 5 hours on my own to work through that problem. Sitting in a 24 hour Wal-Mart parking lot. Middle of the summer patching a tire and trying to hobble home unsafely. And your answer was to give me a few dollars in gas cards. And once again. I can deal with these things. How many of your customers are stranded out there... unsafe... while waiting endlessly because they don't know any better?
I've used as AAA a long time. I get that good help is hard to find. But there is a breakdown in your system for events like these. Your people are following a script that works most of the time. But they are ill prepared for exceptions. Perhaps you should have a trigger where someone with the authority to do whatever it takes (like call a tow truck company and say you will pay marker rates for a situation like mine)to solve the situation. That seems like a good option to me. So... the question is now... what are you going to for me to counter this second aggravation? How can you change that bad taste I have for you right now into something sweet... bring me back to a AAA fan? Be creative. Be generous. Sincerely

I'm not from the area so I didn't have much of a choice on what to do. The car is going to be a project car and since it was not going to see the road for several months, I withheld getting plates for it, mainly because I would have to get insurance on it as well. I was told that if the tags did not match the title and registration that it would not be able to get towed. This is confirmed by an app on the towing companies phones.
Back when I used this service in the past, it was as long as the car was proved to be owned by the member it was eligible to be towed. AAA stands for American Automobile Association, not American Automobile Roadside service. Towing & Repair Service - I want to take the opportunity to report on superb service that we received on May 10, 2017 while traveling from South Carolina to Ohio. The throttle cable broke on our 2002 Chevy Astro Van on Interstate 77. We were able to get to the side of the road, but in a very unsafe situation. We called AAA and your people did their normally excellent job in helping us get some help. The wrecker company dispatched was Bert's Garage Inc from Hillsville Va. We had them take us to their garage rather than Allen's Garage that your people suggested. I like to deal with one company whenever possible and, in this case, it was not only appropriate, but a fantastic decision.
Wesley, the tow truck driver, was an outstanding representative of both Bert's Garage and AAA, as were the others I will note later. He was very efficient, easy to understand, very courteous, and, above all else, put himself into a situation in hooking up our van that I was in no way envious of. In my opinion he deserves hazard pay for this retrieval.
Once we got to the garage, just around 5 pm, we were graciously met by Tammy and Michael, the mechanic. Tammy welcomed us and did the initial paperwork, while Michael immediately looked at the van and diagnosed the problem. Tammy called and ordered the part, which was due for delivery on Friday. As it turned out, they were able to get the part from Chevrolet early Thursday morning and had the van repaired by 11 am. Tammy, in particular, handled this effort in an outstanding manner and she is not the manager. She deserves very high praise for making a customer this happy. Tammy also had a driver take us to a local hotel and pick us up when the repair was completed, helped us make a decision on a hotel and a possible rental car for Thursday, if we needed it.
Other than my 29 year relationship with my local mechanic, I would recommend these folks to anyone and everyone. Overall, this was the best bad day I have ever had with an emergency car situation, with or without AAA. I noticed some AAA commendations on the office wall at Bert's and certainly understand why they would be receiving them. I should have looked at the dates, but didn't. I would highly recommend them for such a commendation for 2017! Or just for this service! In closing, let me thank AAA, Wesley, Tammy, and Michael for making this a happy experience. And, oh by the way, we were astonished at the cost. We expected this to cost substantially more, but it was $141.15. That was so cheap just to get us back on the road.

When the tow finally arrived he went right past us and missed us causing him to go to another turnaround which caused an additional 20 min. A police officer had stopped to ask us if we needed help and there goes the tow truck whizzing by.
When I complained to AAA all they would offer was a $50.00 credit. Not acceptable in my book. I requested a year membership and thought that was sufficient but they would not approve of that. The tow was extremely late putting us in peril and the tow truck was very old and smelly. Not a professional tow person at all. We even gave him the exact mile marker and explained we were right at that mile marker. I could touch the mile marker and even with all that he still went right by us. I called back on Monday, May 8th. The representative told me that they had my application and would give me the number and app to put on my phone which he did right away. He begin to tell me all what I would receive and when he got to the part of levels of coverage. I was told that I would receive up to THREE Miles of towing if my car broke down and I called a tow truck. The information in the letter that I received DID NOT mention anything about levels and the fact if I wanted to be towed farther than THREE miles I would have to step up to another level or pay for the towing over THREE miles. I believe this is very intentionally deceiving as since there were no mention of levels with the offer in the mail. It appeared as towing included sending a tow truck out and towing my automobile to the nearest garage. I Am getting more leery about AAA as I have read some of the reviews that is very negative.
I had always assumed that AAA was a very reputable Auto Club as it had been around a long time is the reason I didn't research before I bought. I live and learn. The bottom line is I feel AAA intentionally kept this information out of the offer that I received in the mail to increase their enrollment. After all, the main feature in the Club for me as a woman traveling alone is to feel confident that you will be towed to a garage not three miles down the road and the rest is up to me. That is insane!

I had a very embarrassing and unpleasant experience at the AAA location yesterday afternoon, located at 13732 Hull Street Rd. Midlothian, VA 23112 (804) 744-1513. I was on the way to the grocery store and heard a pop noise with my tire, then I could hear something while I was driving. The AAA place was the closest to me and I was afraid the tire was going to give out. It was about 5 minutes before 5:00 PM and I asked the attendant if they could put the car up on the lift to see what the issue was, so I would not get stuck or blow a tire while driving. I am female and I was by myself (husband out of town). I told him I was willing to pay whatever the charge would be. I could tell the attendant wanted to help but he said he has to ask his manager.
The manager said "no, we are almost at closing time," then they proceeded to shut down the garage doors as I was sitting there. As I could hear the doors closing, I did not know what I was going to do and it was just a horrible feeling. I decided to risk it and try and make it to Merchant's several miles away and made it. They took me in and I bought two new tires from them. The Merchant's manager said they have a no turn away policy if someone comes in with a tire issue no matter when, even if it is near closing. This is because it's a safety issue and I could have been hurt and so could have others. The tire had a huge screw in it and very likely would have blown the tire had I driven very much further. Wow, thank goodness for Merchant's Tire, and shame on AAA.

I was at SFO had lost my keys had a club on my steering wheel. I called AAA ask them to send out a (Towing) truck. AAA told me They couldn't send a truck out because they had none available for the service I needed, and that I couldn't go no further than ten miles with that service. The service wouldn't be available until after 6 in the morning. I would have to stay at my truck for 5 hours that night but still couldn't get the tow because of the 10-mile restriction. What the hell am I paying this company For? I ended up paying a taxi 120.00 to get me half way home and had a friend take me the rest of the way. AAA sent me a renewal notice, I told them I'm not renewing. AAA is Pathetic!! They don't stand behind their clam service. I'll save my money and take My chances, I'm not going to pay a company that doesn't do what they advertise.

My van broke down in Yellowstone National Park at the Ice Lake Trailhead. For some reason, AAA is not allowed to "rescue" its customers in the park; that is handled by contractors within the park, who have it all sewn up. This one was out of Canyon Village, Yellowstone Park Service Stations, Inc. It cost $565.65 to get towed into West Yellowstone, Montana. AAA of Oregon - Idaho REIMBURSED me for this out-of-pocket expense (after completing and sending-in the required "claim form"). Receiving AAA service, I was then towed into Idaho Falls, Idaho, where the van was repaired. The AAA towing "agent" from West Yellowstone was extremely helpful and made certain that I got to Idaho Falls in time to get the van repaired.
I have the AAA "Premier" coverage, which is $147 per year and worth every penny. Alas, I have had other roadside emergencies, and AAA has always been extremely responsive. Yes, depending upon your location, you may have to wait a while, but they get to you as quickly as possible.

We have been a AAA contractor for 35 years, my father started doing business with AAA in the 80's. For the last 5 years we have been trying to get a company that was very good to us and to its customers to do the right thing. They have developed a take it or leave it attitude. For the last few years we have been trying to get AAA to go back to their old rates and to cover us out on the road if their customer is gone when we get there. AAA used to make sure their customer was taken care of that was their primary concern. Now their primary concern is the $ how much they can stick in their pocket while leaving the customer stranded or the contractor out looking for a customer that has long been gone.
AAA representative told me point blank that if the customer is gone when we get there is just our tough luck, he would not do anything about it. They did not do business like this years ago. They sent us many miles down the road looking for stranded customers and paid us for it. Just to help the customer, just to make sure their customer was safe. Their attitude and their changes in policy have caused us to lose money, to lose other income because while we were out looking we missed other calls. I finally gave up today and decided going from 2000$ to 4000$ per month to less than 100$ each month was not going to work for my business. Contracts I was told now do not have to be signed from year to year. So I asked if I could be fired.

On April 2, 2017 at 11:00 pm I blew my tire on 75 near Ruskin (about 34 miles away from where I live in Sarasota, Florida). After waiting about 50 minutes the tow driver arrives. The tow driver says he can't jack up my van to change it to my spare. I was so confused by this, he tells me he doesn't have the right tire jack. They are AAA certified tow trucks and they can't change a tire. Anyway the tow truck driver told me he would either tow me ($120 to tow back to my home in Sarasota). He said, "Have it towed or I will have to leave you on the side of the highway." Being it's midnight on a Sunday I had no choice. Let me tell you I am a woman by myself and have 3 children waiting for me at home.
Well it gets better once I am in the tow truck and being towed home. The driver tells me he has a foot fetish and if he can play with my feet he will tow me for free. I am so freaked out and just hoping I get home safe at this point. That tow truck driver didn't want to change my tire. He had a ploy and wanted to try and take advantage of my situation.
I called AAA and made a serious complaint. I told them the whole story and felt I deserved the $120 back because that tow truck driver took advantage of me. The supervisor felt so bad and was so angry I had gone through this and said he thought I should be reimbursed and was forwarding to the customer service dept that handles it. He also told me they would return my call in 3 to 5 days. Well guess what? They didn't return my call. I had to call them.
Finally talk to someone and she informs me that I won't get the $120 back because I had a choice to have it towed to a mechanic in the area, now remember it's Sunday, midnight, in a place I don't know and no way of getting home to my kids in Sarasota. All I wanted was my tire changed. There was absolutely nothing mechanical thing wrong with my van. There should have been NO REASON they couldn't change my tire. Isn't that why we pay for our membership fee. Lucky me I get an apology letter. Guess I should be thanking them for putting me in a dangerous situation!!! I am still so angry and upset this is the way they handle their customers!!!

After my rather meek friend accepted this answer and hung up I proceeded to call them several more times - each time they refused to pick us up saying that the tow trucks were not available and/or that they didn't have one with enough seats to pick us up.
On the final call they told us that they would not be able to pick us up until around 9:00 the next morning (it was 4:00 AM at this point) and they left us stranded on the side of the highway until the state trooper they called came and picked us up - leaving our car on the side of the road with ALL of our stuff in it for the night while we spent from 4:30-6:30 falling asleep on the curb of a gas station while our other friend drove down from New Jersey to get us. TERRIBLE service.

I am writing today just to say that this company should be ashamed of themselves! Around noon today (March 25, 2017), my husband was driving behind a car that suddenly broke down. He, of course, got out of his vehicle to help. Thank goodness he did!! The elderly lady behind the wheel was nervous and shaken up. Another gentlemen also stopped and helped my husband push her car off to the side of the road.
Neither my husband nor the other gentleman wanted to leave this elderly woman alone and stranded, so they both stayed with her. After calling you, at 12:09 pm, and being told it would be 55 minutes before a tow truck would be able to arrive, my husband, as well as the other gentleman decided it would be best to wait with her and made sure she was taken care of.
Well, 55 minutes came and went. My husband called again at 1:38 pm and was told it would be another 35 minutes. At this point, my husband was starting to worry about the older woman, as she is 92 YEARS OLD and had been sitting in her car on this 85 degree day. As more time went by, they noticed this lovely woman was not doing very well and placed a 3rd call at 2:15 pm. Again, being told there would be an additional 35 minute wait!! Are you serious? The first call was made at 12:09 pm, for a 92 year old woman who was stranded on the side of the road and almost three hours later, she was still there!!!
Thank goodness my husband and another gentleman stayed with her and made sure nothing happened to her! Luckily, she was somewhere safe and secure with two strangers who were good, kind people! (I can't even imagine if she was alone or stranded somewhere else!) Deciding it would be best for her health, the other gentleman took the elderly woman home, while my husband secured her vehicle. He called again to let someone know that the vehicle would be left unattended, and surprise, an additional 35 minutes was added onto the wait time!
I think that was absolutely disgusting that a call was placed for a 92 year old woman in need of help and was continuously told she had to wait for hours and upon hours. 92 years old. You should be ashamed of yourselves! I hope that one day one of your grandparents never, ever need help or assistance and rely on this service! If they do, I hope there are compassionate and kind people who stop the help and make sure they stay safe! In the end, this wonderful woman called my husband at 4:24 pm and told him that her car was now at her closed mechanics shop. So, this 92 year old woman had to wait for four and a half hours for an emergency roadside call for help... That's just awful. Disgusting, if you ask me. AAA you truly dropped the ball today. Like I said, you should be truly ashamed of yourselves...

AAA told me that if I had my car towed to Bob Sumerel on Ridge Rd that they would be able to get back with me in an hr with an estimate and I would get 10% off so I let them tow it there. It took 3 hrs before they got back to me and I was told my fuel pump needed replaced. When they quoted me I found out the 10% discount was just on labor charges. When I got my car back the next day it was making a strange sort of vibrating noise now and then and so I took it back and they said it was the heat shield vibrating because one of the clamps was rusted and broke off so it wasn't secure. I'm not sure why nobody notified me of that before giving it back to me. It wasn't making the noise before it was brought in.
I took it into another place and was told 3 of the hangers/clamps were broke and needed welding. I feel that they got broke while it was being fixed since it never made the noise prior, even though they were rusted and maybe not their fault that they broke, Bob Sumerel should have told me about the problem. I feel that I was overcharged because I called the dealer and they would charge $50 less for the fuel pump than I was charged and an auto supply store charged $200 less for the same part. Also when the AAA person came out to try to get my car started during his troubleshooting he said that it wasn't the battery and it's not the fuel pump cause he heard it kick on when the ignition was turned so I can't help but feel that I was ripped off here and that I got bad customer service. I didn't know at the time that AAA owned Bob Sumerels and I feel that is why they told me incorrect info for me to get my car in and then was taken advantage of.

I have been a member for 10 years plus. I have only used this service 4 times, and all 4 times, service was prompt about (20 minutes) and the company that was dispatched contacted me on their way to my location to let me know they were in route. This time, however, the service was terrible. I called AAA at 4:55 pm on Monday, March 13, 2017 for a flat tire change, and was on hold for 7 minutes before an agent answered. I was in Rutland, a small city, with several repair/tow service businesses within 5 minutes of my location. They said it would be 40 minutes, and gave me the name of the company that they were dispatching. After hanging up, I googled that company and found that they were 15 miles outside of the city. I called back (about 10 minutes after the first call) and informed the agent that there had to be multiple companies within 2 miles of where I was and that it would most likely be quicker for them to dispatch a more local business.
They agreed and again told me it would be 45 minutes and that someone would let me know when they were in route. I waited 40 minutes without hearing from them, so I called them back only to find out that the business they dispatched had called them back and said that they were unable to do the service. Now they are dispatching yet another company. Also, I was told that 40 minutes is an estimate and not a guarantee. I am not sure why the first company could not come, any driver should have been able to change the tire. Now, they are dispatching another company, and at this time the estimated time of arrival for service is yet another 45 minutes. This time I did receive a follow up call to let me know that they actually had a service person paged and responding, and I got a text that someone would be there by 6:45 pm. We are talking almost 2 hours from the original call in a city with at least 10 service stations nearby.
By that time, all of the area businesses are closing because it is now after 5 o'clock and it is about 15 outside. Finally, at 6:30 pm, a guy from a local company in a Blazer shows up and is able to do the service. AAA's customer service people were not very pleasant and I think that maybe they are not paying their contractors well, and many businesses no longer participate with AAA. This would explain their inability to get someone to me timely. Thinking I might not renew in April... disappointed.

I told them I would wait because I did not have any other way to jump start my vehicle. I explained to them I had no cash, and I was sitting in my car in the cold in the snow. I have been with AAA for over 8 years and never had a major issue with them. They are not perfect but very few corporate companies are. However, I will not be renewing our coverage with them. My battery was replaced by them in 2016. I had a warranty on it. A receipt was given to me however, I have not been able to locate the receipt for the battery replacement. The battery corroded in just a matter of 6 months. The acid ate right through my battery connector and I was stuck with no transportation late at night.
I had AAA come out, they sent a towing company. The driver admitted that the battery was bad but said it was under warranty. But he did not have any batteries in stock for my SUV. He said he had to order one and it would be in hopefully within a few days. I then called AAA a few days later and they ended up telling me that the year of my SUV is not covered for a battery replacement or warranty? They said they do not even show me in the system of ever having a battery replaced in 2016. Then they tell me that the battery cannot be replaced.
I then ask for a supervisor who tells me that she will honor the warranty. I explained that we cannot locate the receipt and I do not understand why I am not showing in the system of having the battery replaced by them in 2016. She did not have an answer but said for me to go and have the battery replaced with a 3rd party mechanic shop and send the receipt to her. She will then have us reimbursed for the battery. Something told me that this would not go as planned but I trusted her and did what she said. She even said she would have it expedited so we can receive our refund quickly since money is very tight for us. We are on a fixed income in my family household.
I had the battery replaced and sent in the receipt for the battery replacement right away and waited two weeks. I then called to find out the status. There were no notes showing that they had received my documents but they said they will have someone call me back on the status. I then receive a call that same day from a representative who then tells me that they need the actual receipt from 2016 when the battery was installed?! Big surprise, I knew that would come back into the equation. I explained the same story over again and let him know that the manager already said she would reimburse us even though we cannot find the receipt. He then said that the receipt is actually required since we are not showing in the system for some reason? I then tried calling the tow company but they could not locate anything for some reason as well?
After numerous calls and speaking to another supervisor since the previous one does not seem to be available, I was told there was nothing more that can be done. The most recent supervisor then tells me that because it is a different department handling the refund, they are requesting the actual receipt from 2016. That is a sad excuse to offer. At that point, I gave up and just decided to not renew my account with AAA. I already found another company who offer the same benefits and features.
It's upsetting that my information is missing from their system in 2016 for the battery replacement and then be told that my 2005 SUV is not covered for that year. It makes me think that something was not processed properly and someone messed up somewhere. I think it is odd that the information is missing from their system. And I now have to suffer financially for it. The only thing that brings me peace of mind is that I received a new battery from a reputable company who guarantees their battery. AAA would have just used another battery with the same company that gave me the battery before and that also damaged my SUV. Yet, AAA does not care that this happened. I am just another number and of no importance to them. Thank you for nothing AAA.

Until last year I was a member for over 15 years straight, using the service once during that time. When they increased the annual fees to the point I thought it was not worth the cost considering I had paid them over $1000 in the past 15 years for one tow. Last year I cancelled. Today I reviewed a promotional offering a year's coverage for $57 with a promotion code. I call to sign up if next year's fees was not too much... It was not. I gave all my information to the lady I was talking to. She then asked me the number of miles I drive per day on average. Being retired it works out to be about 7 miles per day. She then explained AAA would tow me to the nearest AAA facility for free OR to the nearest location of my choice as long as it was within five miles of where I break down. After that the charge is $5 per mile.
Then she offered me the "150" mile plan for a little over $110. I said, "You must be kidding" and hung up. I would not have minded however nowhere in the documents I received did it say what was exactly covered for the $57. As I recall in the past I would receive similar promotional material, however the different plans and their costs were clearly described. I guess they think we cannot make decisions on our own and must be duped to join. As with the reviews I have read out of the over 700 posted here, AAA is nowhere close to being the company that it was in the past. Even if I thought the higher price was worth the service I am very glad I read these reviews! It sounds like even if the service was FREE it is not worth the hassle to be a member.

Now I wonder if I needed front brakes done and I had synthetic oil put in on the oil change and wonder if it was synthetic for $67.
Wow, said I couldn't afford all that said I should do front brakes immediately, so I did for $565, said I'd have to wait for rest. Called another repair shop close by asked how much for rear brakes, $100 dollars less than AAA. Went there,( Greenway auto) to do rear brakes, told them about everything else, said they would check out. Called a while later said rear brakes check out at 7mm. (new 10mm) said they are fine. Checked power steering, fine, little oil or grease around it but normal. Pressure tested radiator no leaks, a little low on antifreeze, but could have been intentionally lowered by AAA. (A quess.) According to Greenway auto I was being lied to about everything that needed to be done. Close to $3000 at AAA. Will never step foot in AAA again! AAA 15439 n 40th st Phoenix Az.

The tow truck driver was very kind and helpful. This complaint is not about him. It is about the service I received from AAA. My car was towed earlier today from my breakdown location to a mechanic shop. However, where the tow truck driver parked it, it was inaccessible to the mechanic shop. I called to see if they could get the tow truck to move it and waive the service so it would not count as one of my tows, and the AAA representative refused to allow that.
I feel that this is absolutely the most unprofessional way to handle the situation. It was obviously not my fault where the tow truck put the car, he should have known to put it in a place that was accessible to the mechanic if he was dropping it off for the mechanic. The fact that it was not put in an accessible place should be enough to get a complimentary tow order to correct the mistake. The whole point of getting the car towed to the place it was, was so that the mechanic could get to it. I am very unhappy with the way this was handled. I've been a member for 37 years and I am this close to canceling my membership.

I have the top Roadside Service thru AAA and it is not cheap! I very rarely have to use the service but had a flat tire when I got in from a out of town air flight Saturday night, 11:12 pm. I called for a tow assistance and was told it would be 1 to 1.5 hrs and that I would receive updates. No updates till I called them back 11:59 PM and then was told they are on their way and I should expect arrival 12:30 AM. Palace Garage Tow showed up and wanted me to DRIVE my car out of the lot as he did not want to damage his new $10,000.00 rig. I refused but did back it out of the parking stall for him. He was rude, putting it mildly. The companies they hire are not very reputable companies and this is not the 1st time I had issues. Length of time to wait is unexcusable, especially for a woman by herself.

I'm the son of a 75 year old woman who has had AAA for over twenty years. Her car wouldn't start a few months ago so she called AAA. The gentleman came out and told her she needed a new battery which she bought from AAAs onsite battery service. The car wouldn't start three days later, yet a rapid clicking could be heard. I know what this means. It means the solenoid doesn't have enough power from the battery to start the car. When the battery tech from AAA arrived he recharged the battery, tested it and said it was fine. Two days after, car won't start, same symptoms. Tech comes out, same result. This time the tech says its possible that the battery post is loose or not connected properly. Recharged the battery, got the car started, left. Third visit, tech arrives, blames the problem on a possible interior light or some other power draw from the car draining the battery, recharge, left. Seeing a pattern here?
Now, a week later, after my mother has specifically started her car every day, the car is dead, a rapid clicking is heard upon attempting to start it. My mother called AAA customer service and spoke with a gentlemen by the name of Kevin who informed her all he could do was send out a tech to test the battery. That's all they can do, and if it tests ok they will have to charge her for the visit because all of her entitled benefits have been used up. All of her entitled benefits have been used up with visits concerning this one battery! I know for a fact that if a tech comes out he will find an excuse not to replace the battery. My mother just wants a refund of her money that she paid for the battery.
Through what became a heated discussion, my 75 year old mother on the verge of frustrated tears, Kevin told her he would not connect her with anyone else or a supervisor after she asked repeatedly. She asked at least 5 times and at every turn he refused. My mother just wants her money back from the faulty battery and to be done with AAA. I cannot believe, coming from a customer service background, that a company would fight this hard to keep an old ladies money. Money for a product that doesn't work. At this point she doesn't even care about the money, she has to find roadside assistance elsewhere, because even if she chose to keep AAA this fiasco has left her without any benefits from the service until February. She feels, and I feel, betrayed by a company that I trusted. If anyone from the organization cares about the perception of your company and how it treats its customers please reach out to me at **.

I have been a long standing member with AAA. My son's vehicle broke down and had to be towed. My husband called around 8:45 and the tow truck arrived around 10:20. I called to get an estimated time when the tow truck should arrive. The operator informed me that she could not give me that information because, even though I paid for the membership, the cards had different membership numbers issued to individuals. This is one household, one membership. I was livid to say the least, and asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor advised me I had been given the wrong information, and was able to give me the name of the wrecker service to verify what time they should arrive. I can only imagine if I had been standing out with my vehicle at 10 o'clock at night, disputing facts about my membership to an operator who has no clue.

On Jan. 6 2017 (0900 AM) requested a tow from AAA roadside assistance. Conversed with dispatcher/phone operator that I need a flatbed tow truck to move my wife's 1999 Jaguar XK8 to the only shop in Panama City FL (EURASIA) that would work on it. Dispatcher asked me "does car start", I stated "no", however it is NOT the battery in that I installed a NEW battery the day before ($185.00) and that I called the local shop because the alarm system activated several days prior which in turn I believed was the root of the problem (Security Alarm Preventing Vehicle From Starting).
Background info on myself/age 57/have experience with auto related problems with domestic cars/trucks, current owner 73 CJ5 Jeep/2001 Dodge Ram 4x4: I am proficient in some vehicle repair issues on past and present vehicles I.E. Front Wheel Bearings, Charge Replace - Battery, Radiator, Starter, Alternator, Oil, Spark Plugs, Fuel and Air Filters, etc. Just wanting all to know I'm not ignorant on how vehicles work and can and do get my hands dirty maintaining them. Dispatcher asked me what I thought was wrong and I gave a brief explanation of what I've done I.E. replaced battery, called shop for DIY fix-reset alarm system, however will not start car and I need the flatbed truck to house. Additionally she was given all information on make and model of vehicle. With that she informed me that I should expect the DRIVER to arrive by 1100 AM.
While I'm waiting for tow truck I receive a call from my employer, Florida Wildlife Commission that we have a dead bear and ASAP I need to retrieve bear for proper disposal and investigation. I inform them I will depart as soon as tow truck removes car, but no problem I'll retrieve it. 1100 AM comes and goes so I re-dial and call dispatcher, I am informed that driver is running late, "SORRY but will be there in 45 minutes". At almost exactly 1145 a CAR drives up with two younger guys with the AAA logo. I approached the driver and stated, "WHERE IS THE FLATBED WRECKER." The driver stated, "THEY told us you needed a jump start and that your car will not start." With that I said I've waited 3 hours for NOTHING and a few choice words about AAA and the dispatcher. The driver then started stammering about AAA sending them on runs that people needed tows not jumps and that he was sorry.
With that I called AAA dispatcher and informed her of what has transpired, Long Wait For Improper Assistance With What I REQUESTED. She then apologized for incident and after putting me on hold told me my wrecker will be there in 45 minutes. An hour plus goes by and wrecker arrives, however instead of sending me a flatbed wrecker for the Jaguar XK8, a sling tow wrecker arrived. As he pulls up I state: "YOU'RE NOT TOWING THAT JAGUAR WITH SLING TOW." Driver states even if I wanted there's no way that type of car could be towed without a flatbed. He then states AAA when requesting service did not ask for a flatbed wrecker. I then ask him, "Can you get me what I need," and he calls back to his dispatch and informs me it will be an hour. He departs location and as you can imagine I'm fuming.
I now call AAA and ask for a manager at the dispatch center. After waiting 8 minutes on hold a manager answers. I then question this person on "What and the heck is going on with AAA, I've been a member for 17 years and have never had such incompetence", with that I gave him the entire nightmare scenario just far. He then asked me if he could ask me a few questions. Did I state the car would not start on my first call for assistance, did the initial AAA response car ever call me prior to arriving, did the wrecker driver or Co. call me prior to arrival??? I then stated, "YES told the dispatcher car would not start however gave her all information on what I DID and THAT I REQUESTED A FLATBED WRECKER, and on the other questions NO, no one called me prior to arriving."
The manager then explained that AAA is under a new management protocol that once the computer is tagged Car Will Not Start, they will NOT SEND a tow truck first, additionally I should of been contacted by both response drivers to ensure what I needed. He then explained that I fell in a category that management needs to figure out best to respond to because of the problems that I've encountered. That I should of been sent a wrecker due to my experience on understanding what I needed, both drivers should of called me to talk directly with me so that they would of known not to arrive but get me correct response, and that even the wrong Jaguar type was in the computer, S Type not XK8 from original dispatcher. Additionally I would receive a questionnaire/review form to state my opinion and problems with AAA as conversed to go to management.
In closing I informed him I now have been waiting 4 1/2 hours, still do not know if I really have a flatbed coming and can he at least give me some information on what's up? He then put me on hold for 5 min, returned to inform me wrecker will be there in an hour and yes it's a flatbed. He did acknowledge that AAA did not request a flatbed on original request. With that the wrecker arrived in an hour and half, with correct vehicle. Tow driver informed me that AAA is not what it used to be and that repeated problems persist with company on his end too. Driver departed at 3:00 pm, 6 hours later from initial call.
Note on Bear: As this problem kept going on I called my employer several times about bear issue, employer at 2:00 pm gave incident to another agent, thus I lost 100.00 job. THANKS AAA I SPENT ALMOST AN ENTIRE DAY WAITING, LOST $100.00 job. HOPE YOUR COST CUTTING INITIATIVE IS SAVING YOU big money? It is now Jan. 22 and have received no correspondence to rate incident or problem from AAA. The Jaguar did have an electrical problem in that a squirrel had eaten through several wires in motor area causing security system to activate. In closing I'm leaving AAA in May 2017, going with another provider Good Sam, or???

We have been LOYAL customers to AAA since 1988, 28 years, and bought insurance from them for our two vehicles, our 3 children's vehicles, and our company vehicles! Much $ for these many long years to them. This past year, we moved our office to a new place, got a new office administrator who was fresh out of college, a very smart young man who is our son, and we lost our wonderful AAA agent Dave ** who we had since 1988. This is what occurred. Our daughter hit her deer and damaged her car greatly one evening. She called to report it and something was not right. AAA customer service were acting strange. They were not responding as usual to help us get our car into the body shop right away. I decided to call, and the representative stated to me that our insurance lapsed and there has been no coverage for over a month now. WHAT? Not one phone call! We did not know that we were not covered at all.
Dave ** was the BEST insurance man ever. He called us if there needed to be changes to our accounts or for any reason. He retired last year! I would think that if there was a problem as big as our policy lapsing, a person from AAA would have notified us by phone. They later after the fact of what happened, told us it was enough, to send out a letter and it wasn't their responsibility to call us. Well, the bill was overlooked in our new office and our son sent it out 4 days before the grace period ended in the mail.
In our business, we wait for sometimes months to a year to receive our pay from companies after doing a job. This is how it works in construction. In our son's mind, when he saw the bill, he had thought that it would be ok to send it since it was still before the grace period ended. He now knows he should have called in a payment, but dealing with late money coming in continually, he honestly didn't think this one time would hurt anything. I explained everything to the Customer Complaint Department Marquita **, and got nothing but a letter back stating it was all our fault and they were not going to help us at all. I wrote a letter to CEO Mr. Richardson, of AAA, and received another letter back from Marquita **, basically saying the same thing. It was our fault, etc, etc.
AAA is all about the money, and our policy has never lapsed once since 1988. We paid thousand of dollars to this company and had very little claims all these years. The one time our policy lapsed because the money in the mail didn't arrive in time, and all of those other circumstances that occurred, and our daughter hitting a deer, showed that AAA is NOT LOYAL TO THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. I have to say and never thought I would say this in a lifetime, that I am thankful my daughter hit that deer by our house, because none of us had insurance coverage since AAA stopped it before we even realized there was a lapse in our coverage due to the late payment!!! We also are thankful to God that our daughter was uninjured and that our two sons and my husband and I did not have any accidents. It would have changed our lives completely if it had.
We are sad that our AAA company of 28, yes 28 years did not even care. It's all about money to them, not people. In our business, if we did this to our people we do work for, we would never have a business. INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE TOO MUCH POWER AND HARD WORKING PEOPLE'S MONEY! It's time for America to stop this over usage of power that has been given to Insurance companies. AAA Failed us completely!

Great company. Oh but they are sorry? I said what does that get me? “You get 4 calls a year. We will remove this one. You’re back to 4.” I laughed and said "You really think I'm doing this again with you." Then I asked the less than concerned operator, how do I get the 4 hours of my life back. I just lost! Hey AAA have you ever heard of chains for your cars or trucks. They basically told me that it might be a couple of days and to call back tomorrow.

The next morning 1/5/17 the car was hard to start. I stopped at a reputable auto store and they tested the battery. It was bad. He said call AAA they are good. I did. They sent another truck who angrily stated the battery was fine, where's my printout but it won't matter anyway. I went back and it was another shift. They tested the battery and it was bad. First the poor service started with **- 815 Farmington Avenue - West Hartford, Ct. such an attitude! He is not good with customers or business. He fails to return calls and gives me inaccurate quotes on my Auto Policy to date. In attempting to contact AAA regarding my Auto policy they are unable to find my policy and I spend lots of time on the telephone trying to identify myself. I have no claims to date just rising costs and very poor service.
Recently I had a serious price increase and called and spoke with ** 11-14-16 @ 11:05 am, made some changes and then I never heard back about my updated policy or when it was due. Nov. 12 I had to have emergency surgery (Nissen Fundoplication) and I had to have someone take care of my business, as a result my policy was not paid. No notices, emails, nothing was sent or brought to the attention of myself and my daughter. Once I recovered and returned home I realized my auto policy did not appear to be paid, that was on December 30, 2016 @7:17 pm I called and spoke with **. I explained I could not pay the amount until January 1, 2017. He told me if I paid the policy by January 1, 2017 it would immediately be reinstated. I attempted to call and pay my policy on that day but your offices were closed and the auto payment would not identify my policy number. You were closed!
I then called on Monday, January 2, and once again you were closed. I called Tuesday, today and spoke with ** and then a **. ** told me 30 days had lapsed and I had to have a new policy written which was at a much higher rate than I could afford due to the lapse in policy. This was truly an honest mistake on the part of AAA in not notifying me. In the past if a policy was about to lapse I would be sent a notice telling me this. I received no such notice. I am asking to be reinstated with the policy I had with CSAA at the rate I was paying. I also have renters insurance with I have discontinued which was much higher than my new quote with the identical policy. There is a cost difference of $20.00 a month for the exact same policy. I was told the battery they installed was the wrong size, and they replaced it. Now a year and a half later, my car would not start (turned the key and got a click). The driver jumpstarted me and told me I should take my car to my mechanic, and not drive it otherwise. He said I had a fuel pump problem. My long-time mechanic said the fuel pump was fine but the battery would not hold a charge.
I called AAA and was told I had to be there to sign for them to come to replace the battery, AND the battery was no longer under warranty because they count from the first failed battery. Two failed batteries are enough. I told my mechanic to go ahead and replace the battery with something reliable. So much for 25 years of dues. Not there when you need them. Last night was the second time I called them and when they came out (after waiting 5 hours). The gentlemen was nice but had no idea what he was doing. Jumped my car, did some tests, told me everything was good. As he was cleaning up I went to start the car again and the battery was totally dead and would not start. He had no idea why. He told me I "might" need a battery. He quoted me a battery for $200 and I said I would like to replace the battery. He then acted started back peddling telling me that maybe it wasn't the battery. Then told me he could sell it to me but he couldn't install it. I said that was fine, I will install it.
He then said he didn't have the battery on him, but he could get one here in less than an hour. I said that was fine - I can wait. He then immediately said the battery is fine and that I really didn't need to replace it. At this point I was just done dealing with this guy. It was obvious he had no intention in helping me. So tried to start my car this morning and it's dead. Honestly I am mostly disappointed. I have always felt this security having AAA for so many years. Where do I begin... I finally got the chance to sit down and write this review and express how dissatisfied I am with this insurance! For being a loyal customer for over 10 years I would at least expect some assistance as a member. Our RV broke down in the middle of the desert at 6 am. I called AAA member services and they said our membership didn't cover. I was furious! Stuck in the cold in the middle of nowhere with two young children and AAA said that they cannot do anything except provide a number to the nearest tow truck. Yes, we paid $210 out of our own pocket... even after paying more than 10 years' worth of membership payment and only used the roadside service once.
Did I mention I didn't need a tow? One tire busted. All we need was to borrow a jack so we can replace the punctured tire with a spare. $210 just to change the tire! I have my house, two cars and the RV insured by AAA. You would think AAA would mention "by the way, you need to upgrade your membership if you want to cover the RV." Instead they would rather collect your money and hope you will never need roadside assistance. I was ready to cancel my membership and insurance right then and there! Unfortunately everything has already been paid. I'm never late on payment. Should have stuck with State Farm. I guess I better find an alternative insurance company.

When the tow truck did not arrive to change my flat tire by 6:00 PM I called the towing company. The AAA service clerk said was contracted for my area. The towing company told me that they had received the dispatch from AAA only 7 minutes prior to my phone call. I was told they would be out to change my tire within 30 minutes. I called AAA back to ask why the towing company had only received the call to change my tire only 7 minutes prior to my calling the towing company.
I was put on hold for 11 minutes plus for the clerk to find out what happened. She came back and stated the towing company was only 6 minutes out. I told her I had contacted the towing company and was given another 30 minutes until they could respond. She stated she was working with the dispatcher to find out what happened. Even though all of the towing companies are within 6 minutes of my location it still did not get my tire changed any faster. I still have not been told why AAA took so long to send the request for towing. The time from the phone call until the tow truck responded was 2 hours much longer than the 45 minutes I was promised.

Very disappointed. When signing up for AAA on the computer, I input all info required and made payment. Website locked me out with no confirmation that payment received or email. When credit card bill came in, charge were made to my account by AAA. When I called AAA they said it is an active account. Well I informed the girl that I did not get a confirmation or any info sent to me or even a card. I told her that I went on a road trip with my travel trailer and wanted the peace of mind in case of a breakdown (I have two new vehicles and a fairly new trailer). She apologized and offer to help correct the problem, she added my wife on the account even though I added her on when I attempt to sign up. She said she would give me a discount for adding my wife.
Well, got the second bill and she charge me full price but said it was a discount. Very shady practice, customer service said they cannot do anything about it because payment has been made. They did offer a $10 discount on my next renewal date if I do auto pay, ha ha, what a joke. They need to know there are other companies that do the same service at competitive pricing.

As a brand-new AAA client and first-time user of AAA emergency roadside services, I can state without hesitation that our experience yesterday with both the local AAA-contracted towing company and with the AAA emergency roadside services customer service Supervisor 'Phil' is at the top of the worst and most unacceptable services and responses from a business/company and individual employee that I have ever had the mis-pleasure of dealing with.
Our vehicle died in someone's driveway across town from us. We were informed by the AAA rep, per AAA policy, that we had to be with our vehicle with our membership card/info and the keys at time of towing service. The rep stated that we would receive text updates as to the ETA, and the agreement was that we would be on-site 10-15 minutes before the tow truck arrived. The ETA was 4 hours out. Since we could not wait 4 hours at the residence and our other vehicle was also down, we arranged a ride back to our residence, and then arranged a ride back to the vehicle from a nice neighbor. The AAA rep suggested this, and we agreed.
At 6:35, with no ETA updates or calls, my wife called AAA. As she was on the phone with the rep who was informing us that our ETA had been pushed back, I received a call at the exact moment from the tow company dispatcher stating that the driver was on-site with the vehicle - an hour earlier than stated and without having called us or informed us in any way whatsoever. The dispatcher stated that she would inform the driver to wait for us at the vehicle (per AAA policy) as it would take at least 15 minutes to return to the vehicle. As my wife approached the site, the tow truck driver was observed leaving with our vehicle attached, in-tow and driving away. She stopped the operator and asked what was occurring. He stated he was taking it to our designated repair service facility (which we had agreed to).
The tow truck operator towed our vehicle with us being on-site. They towed it without having the key to access the ignition. They towed it improperly from the rear without engaging the neutral setting, potentially causing significant damage to the vehicle (we are awaiting word from our service facility). If my wife and neighbor had arrived on site 10 seconds later, or taken another route, they would never have encountered the tow operator removing the vehicle and would have found an empty spot where the car was supposed to have been, and no one had informed us of this at all. We wasted a trip and everyone's time in 4-degree weather conditions.
The tow operator even stated to the residence owner where the car was that she made contact with him and he stated to her that he was "fine and happy to wait". She then observed him hooking up our car and driving it away without our permission, without us being on-site, without making contact with us, without us presenting our AAA documents and without having the key. As the first AAA rep I spoke to stated, she was "appalled" by the manner in which the tow company and tow operator violated every single agreement that were directed by AAA to follow. She stated that he should not have done any of the above. She stated that the AAA contract with MacDonald's Towing in Kalamazoo, Michigan should be revoked by AAA due to their obvious and clear mis-management and the violation of AAA policies that we as clients were directed to follow. We followed those directives and agreements as documented.
When I spoke with 'Phil', the Supervisor at AAA emergency roadside assistance, the issue was not resolved. "Your vehicle got towed to your repair facility, right?" was the snide, sarcastic, impertinent, rude, dismissive customer service SUPERVISOR 'Phil's' ending comment to me. That's what AAA is standing by: that if your car made it from point A to point B, then they're golden. Anything in-between and any violations of the agreement that you just made with the AAA emergency service rep or violations of AAA policy are simply hairs to split and argue over.
That's all Phil did with me: Argue. Interrupt. Badger. Be combative. Question. Deny responsibility. Allay blame. Try to wear me down. Kept stating that he didn't understand, after I clearly explained the timeline and situation. Kept referring to his "notes" in the documentation, and then insinuating that we, as clients, had not followed AAA procedure somehow. Blame the towing company. Blame the tow operator. State clearly that the tow company and tow operator were at-fault. And somehow even blame US for having the keys to the car, and repeatedly asking me how the keys got to the repair facility (huh? My wife TOOK them there, since she always had them in her possession, while the tow operator never did!), and state that we did indeed receive a text update (it was simply the first text message stating that my new policy was accepted), and so that was good enough for AAA.
Good call, arguing with the client. This rep did EVERYTHING, that I, as a long-time, trained hospitality industry employee and self-employed business owner, have never been taught NOT to do when resolving or addressing valid issues and complaints with clients and customers. Even the first AAA rep I got on the phone said she was "appalled" by the many ways in which our service call went wrong, that none of it should have occurred as it did, and that the towing company should be relieved of their contract. So which is it, AAA? Do you truly feel that this episode is as simply as "we completed the contract" and "we got the car from A to B"? Are you listening, AAA (on social media)?
APPALLING. Absolute GARBAGE. This was to-date about the WORST customer service Supervisor and experience that I've ever had the mis-pleasure of being on the other end of. Complete arrogance and unwillingness to assist us. As a first-time AAA client, I can soundly state that the treatment and service we got was beyond sub-par. It was abysmal, and it is still unresolved. We simply wished a refund on our membership fee or at least one tow service placed back onto our account, but no. Nothing. As 'Phil' stated, "We did our job. Why should we refund your membership fee when we've done our job?" (that's a verbatim quote).

Great phone service. Just really long waits in zero weather. Called at 430. By 5 I was finished. They texted me at 5 to let me know they're dispatching. I called three times and was told some erosions saying 15-20 minutes and by 620 I get a text. They're on their way with an arrival at 640 which they showed up at. My issue is what's the point on relying on a company that states truth stretching (lies) about time line and uses verbiage such as "I apologize for the inconvenience"? I have to say I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service that has been propagated. It is 10 degrees outside that's pretty cold to be outside waiting or inside a car with no heat.

I am cancelling as soon as I confer with counsel. Sounds like possible insurance fraud to me. I've been a member of AAA for about 8 years. Never had any problems until day before yesterday when they renewed my membership without notifying me first, leaving me with a negative balance in my bank account. I called the customer service number and told them that I wanted the automatic renewal and automatic payments stopped immediately since that when they took my money without notifying me first, that I was left a negative balance in my bank account. So, I had to go to my bank and talk to someone there and that person gave me a number to call for their to dispute department. Well, after being on the phone with them for about 2-3 hours, the mess was finally straightened out because my bank put money into my account so there wouldn't be a negative balance. But, the matter still has not been resolved with AAA.
The person I talked to at my bank said that it would take about 15 days before I saw a dime from AAA. AAA emailed me and tried to say that there was no credit card on my account for automatic renewal, yet they still took my money! I told them that if the matter wasn't resolved, that I will be canceling my membership. I am not happy about what they did at all.

All I am ever told is the link was mailed yet I never received it. It is the principal more than the value of the promo at this point and it is quite frankly false advertisement. I asked the rep to send me the email right then and there if it was already sent but shockingly he was unable. Highly disappointed in their lack of integrity. Will never renew again.

I called Triple A at 8 am to ask for an battery replacement of my cx 5 mazda. The guy Carlos from Affordable battery and towing came to my house and he confirmed he had the battery to be replaced. Later he told my car had a issue with the start system and the battery could be only changed after the system be fixed. While he was almost leaving, I replaced the battery of the key and the car started. The guy refused to exchanged the battery and told me he had already closed the case and another person of Triple A should come to replace it. I called again to ask another person. One hour later the same guy called letting me know he was coming back. Why did he leave without helping me out?
Anyway, when I thought my problem would be solved, he tells me he doesn't know how to exchange the battery and I would need to take my car to the dealer. I ask. What kind of service Triple A provides to customers? Why do they send incapable people to provide services? At 1:30 pm, after long hours at the phone complaining about this disrespectful situation they called me to find they couldn't find people to help me out in the area I live. I believe this advertisement is a lie to customers, the benefit of membership is not true and I felt that this company should treat customers the way they deserve.

I have been a member of AAA for 36 years. I have had my cars insured through them for around 30 years and my home insured through them for around 18 years. Over the years AAA has cut back on the free services they offer. Mostly this didn't bother me since I didn't use those services much anyhow. However, recently I got a letter in the mail for AAA telling me that they won't be renewing my home owner's policy because our Jacuzzi didn't have water in it. The problem with this is that my Jacuzzi always has water in it. So I called AAA up and told them that my Jacuzzi always has water in it. Plus I didn't recall anyone calling to come to our property and inspect it. Sometimes AAA will send someone to look at a property and take photos.
I also pointed out that it would be impossible for someone to stop by our property and see the Jacuzzi because we keep the gates to our back yard locked. So the rep contacted the underwriter and asked about it. Turns out the person at the underwriter looked at a satellite photo of our property and because she could not see water in the Jacuzzi, she assumed there was none. Last time I checked, water is clear. It is typically impossible to tell of something contains water unless you get very close to it. Obviously you cannot tell from a satellite photo. Plus I pulled up the satellite photo and not only could I obviously not tell if there was water in the Jacuzzi, the photo itself had to be a minimum of two years old!
This is the most unprofessional conduct I have seen in a long time. The underwriter was too lazy to make an appointment to see the house and too ignorant to realize water is clear and you can't see it from a satellite photo. AAA did send someone to my house to photograph the Jacuzzi. However, I still have not been told if this is cleared up. So as long as I can match their price or beat their price, I have decided to cut all ties to AAA. It has been my policy all my life to blacklist companies that demonstrate such incompetence or irresponsible customer service.
Additionally, so far it's looking like dropping AAA will actually save me some money. For so many years I just renewed my policies without shopping around. I think that was a mistake. Also, the AAA membership is not really worth all that much. No more than I use the services, I'm money ahead. Plus there are so many other roadside assistance services out there. Do your homework, even some credit cards offer the service. In fact you might have another service and not even know it. AAA has gone downhill quite a bit.

NO STARS: When backing out of a driveway, the driver side rear wheel went into a ditch. AAA sent this company out and a young man completely connected the chain wrong to my car resulting in a bent tie rod, need for 2 new front tires, and an alignment. The driver quickly jumped in his truck and didn't even give me sheet to sign. I escalated this through AAA corporate. The owner called once, said he would talk to driver next day and call me back. He NEVER called me back even after I have left messages. This cost me $500 and they should be reimbursing me for the damage they caused to my car. Do not use their services. I had to call AAA again to find out claim denied by owner. Driver LIED and said we asked to use his chains and not put on rollback. The owner would not even call me back himself after multiple attempts and messages I have left.
The owner finally called me back 11/18. He was very condescending and called me a liar without saying the exact words. He stated AAA closed the ticket multiple times and he was tired of dealing with it. That AAA doesn't own his company and he was told he doesn't have to do anything to rectify this situation. He belittled me and called me a liar in 3 ways. This is not a professional. He was so rude. I have logged multiple complaints. AAA issued a ticket, hasn't resolved, and also didn't contact me that a claim has been "denied". They just put me in touch with the tow company they sent out. No one is taking responsibility. This has been going on for over a month without any resolution.

Call AAA again and said I wanted a long distance tow, since I was in Timbuctoo, and had nowhere to go. They attempted to discourage me from using a long distance tow, telling me it would be several hours before they could make it out. I insisted on the tow and they were there within an hour. Nice! I get towed in at 9:30 in the evening to my home.
Two days later, I call AAA for a tow to the Chevy dealer with my truck. They inform me that since I was already towed, they will not tow this vehicle any longer. Since I had a 200 mile tow and 3 100 mile tows, who the hell do they think they are, telling me how to use my tows? I now have to call a tow truck and pay out of pocket. Not sure if her previous jobs were at the DMV or some other hostile place like a prison reception. She never wears a name tag. No accent, maybe Hispanic or Middle Eastern descent. The other staff are very nice, courteous, and friendly. Thinking some customer service training is in order. Waited for over 3 months to resolve an issue that was suppose to be resolved within 30 days, according to one of their employees. To make a long story short, I submitted a reimbursement form before I went on a three week vacation. I called the day I left and they said it was being process, that I had to wait 30 day. On returning in mid-August I figure I'll give them a courtesy call. When doing so found out that it hasn't even started to be processed, to give it a 7-10 days. After that I called again, and they said they couldn't find the paperwork, to give it another week or so. From there they keep giving me the "call next week" excuse. This keep on going for weeks and spoke to several of people, and it's like no one knew what the hell was going on. It became very ** frustrating.
Started to think they were doing deliberately. So I figure why, stress, and wait it out. Now it's mid-November. I finally got my refund, instead of refunding me the full amount like stated from the beginning, or as a courtesy because of all the lies, **, and incompetent service that was provide I was refunded 51% of refund. It's better than nothing, but now I know for next time "IF" there ever was to be a next time. I don't know what else to say but with technology these days it shouldn't have taken that long. My suggestion is when planning a service plan, I believe more emphasis should be put into proper training and communication. FYI the waiting wasn't the problem, the unreliability, untrustworthy, and the lack of communication within AAA's Mid-Atlantic Customer Relations caused the issue.

She told him we were southbound on I25 a mile north of exit 257. He kept telling her that she was northbound. I finally talked to him and said I needed a flat bed for my AWD car. He told me someone was being dispatched.
One hour goes by and no update. I call again and speak to a different rep. He tells me that a driver will be at my location in 20 minutes. Fast forward to 6:30 a police officer pulled up behind and I showed him all my texts from AAA and phone call logs. He said, "Lady they are not coming. It is dangerous for you to be here on the highway by yourself. I can't believe you have been here over 4 hours." Then AAA tells me I have to pay a private tow company and they will reimburse me. I said "don't you think if I would have know 5 hours ago you were not coming because dispatch is down I would have called a private company, towed it to tire discounters and then gone home in 2 hours vs. 5 1/2 hours and no resolution.
So now I have to miss a half days work... call AAA again to be towed to tire discounters on 11/2. Do not waste your money... especially if you are a woman. In 2014, we decided to get AAA due to age of our vehicles and never knowing when something might arise that we would need a tow. Lo and behold during a snow storm in early 2015, our minivan was stuck. We called AAA for a tow. They refused saying if we were stuck, they may get stuck and therefore would NOT send someone out. I told them I highly doubt that a towing vehicle, with its weight, would get stuck in a few inches of snow, as our AWD SUV was just fine. We ended up having to use our SUV (without a tow hitch) to pull the van out of the stuck spot. While on the phone and telling them how disappointed we were in their response they needed to go ahead and cancel our service as obviously it was doing us no good. Fast forward to today.
As I'm looking at our bank account, I notice a payment to AAA on the 1st for renewal. I go back to October of 2015 and see the same charge. I call them asking why we are being charged when we never renewed? Was told by Lexie that I chose the auto renewal option. She will refund this year, but last year is too bad because I didn't call then. I told her under no circumstances have I EVER checked anything for autorenewal and I'm quite certain is was a prepopulated check somewhere in the fine print that I never saw. I asked repeatedly to speak to her manager. After the 10th time I had to ask if she was stupid or deaf? Lexie ended up hanging up on me.
The rep I spoke to when I called back was nicer but still somewhat rude and refused to rebate the 2015 charge because there was no note in the system from that call in early 2015 that I wished to cancel, and surely their "brilliant" 10th grade educated morons would write that in the notes. AAA was fantastic in the 80's and early 90's. Obviously based on the horrible reviews I've seen here, I am not alone in thinking they need to be investigated and put out of business. After 11/2 hours, I phoned again, was placed on hold, and finally told that the towing company (METRO) was running late and would be at my residence in 30 minutes. After waiting another 45-60 minutes, I phoned again and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that the towing company (METRO) would be at my home "soon" (car was in my garage). Finally, at 4:00 PM, I receive a call from a METRO driver, who was VERY rude, telling me he'd be there soon.
A few minutes later, I receive a call from another towing company you work with (ADVANCED); this driver was at my home in 15 minutes. Interestingly, the METRO driver finally did drive by, saw the other tow truck, drove down to the end of a long cul-de-sac, waited for ten minutes, turned around, and left. No word to me. Ironically, ADVANCED is located in my county (Nassau), about 15 minutes away from where I live. METRO is in Jacksonville, approximately 45 minutes (without traffic) from my home. The ADVANCED driver informed me that this was the second such incident of the day (METRO was called by AAA, didn't show up for 3 hours, customer lived in Nassau County)! Obviously, AAA should have contacted ADVANCED first. Additionally, AAA should have been in contact with whomever the towing company was to be used. You never did. I was never contacted by METRO or AAA.
I would like a phone call. I would like to know that your company cares about customers. What would have happened if I had been on the side of a road somewhere?! I have always associated AAA with customer care and diligence; I trusted you and was, apparently, very wrong in doing so. Do you value me as a customer? If so, how will you reflect this value? I would expect much more than "We won't count this as one of your four yearly services" - especially given that with my "premiere" membership, battery charges don't count as a tow service at all! The car was NOT towed! I have sent this complaint directly to your company via the AAA page I log into. I expect something more than what I've received from your supervisors - "I'm sorry".

Called October 1 SPECIFICALLY asked for a tow truck. Customer service began asking questions and then insisted I tell her the sound the car makes when it would not stop. I said I do not know. I said this like 5 times. I said "just send the tow. All I need is a tow and I will pay the extra charge." I get a call from a SERVICE CAR not a tow truck. I got someone to help and they started the car so I call AAA to tell them I do not need them but I also. Then I call and ask for supervisor. This person named Randy comes and begins to argue with me that a service would helped since the car started.
I am the customer - if no one came and helped or if the car just would not start I would need a tow. I rather wait for a tow than wait for service and then wait for a tow. I should get what I ask for and what I pay for. I hate them. I file a complaint with BBB and I won't stop until I get guaranteed. They won't mess with me like this again or I want my money.

AAA is blatantly a rip-off when it comes to battery replacement! Our battery was less than one year old when it died. They came out to test it, jump started the car and left. We drove the car for about an hour thinking it should charge it back up enough to take it in for charging as they had suggested. Charging system was fine they said. Their meter read that it had 495 CCA. Next day I could not even jump it. I could have taken it in (if I could have jumped it) but thought about the possibility that the next day it would not start... I cannot afford to be without this car!
I then read the many reviews and realized it was a mute point... The AAA dealers are told to not replace anymore than 11% of their batteries or possibly lose their franchise! Went and bought my own... car starts just fine. AutoZone tested AAA battery... It had 9% that following morning! Heads up... DON'T BUY AA BATTERIES! Not worth it! BTW... I have a 2013 Chevy... Bet they won't want to reimburse me the 125.00 bucks for the bad battery they sold us! READ REVIEWS!!!

4.30 pm yesterday I called AAA due to a flat tire and I couldn't remove the bolts to change it, The 1st operator took my location which was Queens Blvd between 55 ave and 55rd, he took my cell number 2 times as he read it back wrong the 1st time, "help will be there in 50 mins at the latest". He said. 5.40 pm. I call again, 2nd operator tells me that they cancelled it because I didn't give them an exact address and that I wasn't answering my phone, He said it would be at least another hour to wait and it was my fault for not picking up the phone and not telling them the exact address of where I was parked. 6.00pm I call 3rd operator and ask "what cell number do you have for me?", it was the wrong number, so operator #2 didn't even bother to check if they had the right number, just laid all blame on me, I was then told help will be there in 30 mins.
7.00pm I call operator #4 (George), "Is your car a Chrysler PT Cruiser?" he asked, "Well that's your problem right there" he said, WOW!, so on top of total incompetence, rudeness and blame shifting I get an amateur comedian to make fun of the situation, excellent. 7.30pm mechanic arrives and takes 5 mins to get me on the road again. In 15 years as a member I have used them twice and both times they made a total mess of the situation, 100% failure rate. I will definitely be cancelling my membership, I will use my insurance company from now on.

Triple A is a joke. Yesterday 9/22/16 I called AAA for roadside assistance. My ignition was broke. So I told them I need a dolly truck because that's what I needed a week before with same problem. They say "Ok it will be a hour wait and you have to say with car until they get there." First guy comes, rude attitude and don't take car cause owner isn't there to sign waiver. Then we call back. They tell me it's $119 to tow 22 miles to my house. That is only like 18 miles but whatever. Then $95 to tow to shop where I purchased car from. It's 6 miles from where I broke down at. Me my sister and customer service rep all using Google maps. We get 6.1 to 7.5 miles. He gets 13 miles. "What. Hell no. Get manager." Manager says he know miles are showing up wrong but there's nothing he can do about it but send someone out then the tower can calculate miles.
Then a towing guy calls about 45 mins. unto the hour wait time to see what exactly was going on, I explained. He said it would be 45 mins. wait cause he has a trip before me. He wanted to send someone out to see if they can start it. Ok a tower named Tony comes out. Nice guy btw. Hooks car in 10 mins. then charges me $14 for the 3 to 4 extra miles that I wasn't covered for. Now what map were they using to get $95 for a $14 trip. Straight crazy. Oh and I wanted to upgrade to unlimited tow or whatever it's called for $40 extra bucks but it wouldn't start til 7 days later. What kind of crap is that. So they want you to pay 40 more dollars plus however much a tow is to your location plus wait up to only God knows when for them to come. They're undercover scammer to the fullest. Will not be dealing with them ever again. Will get towing option with my car insurance company. Btw first call was at 2:15 pm. Didn't leave til 7 pm.

I recently switched to AAA Auto thinking it was cheaper than paying for tow service through my insurance company. It was cheaper but when I actually needed them the wait for a tow was ridiculous. On Sept 12 I had a flat tire coming out of the gym and when I called them they quoted me a time frame of 2:39 pm, I called it in at 1:39 pm. I thought an hour was long but whatever. 20 minutes later I get a call saying the original company they dispatched was not able to assist so they would dispatch another tow company. The time frame now is 3 pm.
A little annoyed, I waited inside the gym and as it got closer to 2:59. I get a call saying it's going to take another 30 minutes!! Absolutely ridiculous. Because I have to get home to get my son from school, I decided I would drive on my flat tire all the way home. Thank goodness I made it home. I then receive a call at 4:45 pm and the tow driver left a message saying they are in the parking lot looking for my car. Now I have to laugh because their commercials is a joke. My tire went flat coming home from work. I had a spare but for some reason it would not fit even though it came with the car. I called AAA and told them my situation. After hanging up with them I noticed the text they sent me for tracking. It had me in a totally different part of town. I told them, "I am between city X and city Y on highway XX." Simple, I'd think, but they got it totally wrong. Then after calling them back and telling them they had the wrong location they said "OK, we'll fix it." Then I didn't hear back from them so I didn't know if they were coming or not. All I needed was a spare that fit or a tire plug, they insisted on a tow even though I was 9 miles out of my 3 mile tow range. That would be 36 dollar by the way. $4/mile!!
The thing that really upset me was the lady didn't know if the guy coming was going to be able to patch my tire because "All trucks are equipped with different tools..." Well, how hard is it to have a tire patch AAA? You think AAA would do stuff like that... Well, an hour and a half passes (even though they said an hour), and what smells to be a totally drunk tow truck driver shows up. His breath stank of alcohol. By that time, I had already been helped by 2 good seminarians, one who helped me jack it up and the other who happened to have a spare that fit my car. I was basically good to go at this point except for the fact that my battery was dead from running the blinkers for 2 hours. The guy that came for AAA didn't have jumper cables either. And to boot he acted half way mad because my car was almost ready to run. The guy who gave me the spare tire jumped my car off and I left for home. Needless to say I am less than happy with AAA.

On or about August 11, 2016 I contacted Triple A Portland, Oregon to make arrangements for 3-day excursion from the central Oregon Coast to Salinas, California and back. My needs were specific. A SUV that could accommodate a king size latex mattress, and hotel reservations. Stephanie, researched the dimensions of several vehicles, recommended and booked the vehicle, then emailed trip tik maps to me, and helped me to assess where I would be staying and looked for hotel rooms. Stephanie looked at the reviews of the hotels before she recommended anything.
There were some problems with getting the vehicle at a convenient location, which she tried to resolve and dug deeply enough to find out why. I ended up not taking the vehicle because I found that folding the mattress would not damage it. So, the Sonoma truck with a canopy would work fine. I also ran ahead of schedule and had to cancel one of the reservations north bound. Stephanie, telephoned me at the end of my trip to ask how things went. She has since assisted me in booking a longer term stay across the country, and because I had a budget, spent above an average amount of time to do so. I am very happy with my hotel. Stephanie has a can-do attitude that serves the membership of Triple A Portland, well. Thank you Stephanie. You are priceless.

I have been a AAA member since 1964. I am 70 years of age. The last time I experienced a breakdown was in 2013, middle of summer when it was 90 degrees. I have two children. I had to wait nearly 3 hours before a tow truck arrived. Even then they could not take my children so we had to arrange separately for them to get home. AAA only has a limited number of contracted providers per geographic locality. They have some backup providers. If all their contracted providers and backups are busy, you must wait until they can get to you; no matter how long that might take. AAA is too cheap to call non-contracted providers to assist you no matter what the circumstances. I expect more out of an auto club for which I pay this kind of money.
At my age, I don't want to end up in the hospital over heat stroke when, under ideal conditions of no accidents, no weather emergency; AAA can't get to me because they hold fast to using only contracted providers. They tack on all sorts of bells and whistles as "fringe benefits" to your membership, failing to understand that all I really need from a motor club membership is service when I have an emergency. AAA is good at saying they are sorry but can't do anything to correct this situation. I would no longer recommend AAA. They are not reliable for senior citizens. You cannot count on them if you have a road emergency. It is as simple as that.

So after dealing with AAA roadside on this issue since 07/15/2016 and a total of 8 service calls; I have come to a decision that I should reach out to BBB and have it resolved that route. I have spoken to several Reps and Supervisors at the call center who just keep saying they understand but don't want to resolve the issue. All I want at this point is a replacement or refund for the battery. All transactions happened in 2016.
01/14: Bought battery from AAA. 07/15: Placed a call thinking my battery was dead. 07/26: Battery died again and placed another call. Excel road service came out and driver was rude to begin with and stated it was the alternator. 07/28: Drove the car to Autozone for alternator test and it was all good and they stated it was the battery. 07/30: Battery died again and another road service call was placed and the same rude driver came out and kept saying it's the alternator. 08/01: Drove to Honda and they tested the Alternator and said it was working perfect and there was no issue with that; but their mechanic suspected the battery since it was not holding charge and kept draining faster than it should.
08/01: Spoke to a Supervisor who noted on my account not to send the same rude driver out. 08/04: Towed my car to my mechanic and he stated Alternator was fine and it was the battery. 08/19: Placed another call for battery replacement and SAME rude driver came out and did not want to do anything instead kept arguing that it's the Alternator not the battery and till that is not replaced he will not do anything. So I sent him back. 08/25: Called Roadside again and explained to the rep on the phone who said she will send another service out B&R out who will replace the battery. Instead they came out and stated they don't replace battery instead they gave a jump start and battery died in seconds. 08/25: Called Roadside again and asked for supervisor. But from her tone she implied that I'm Lying and Excel Roadside service driver is saying the Truth.
After all these calls to AAA Roadside I believe AAA is not going to replace the battery and I will have to resolute to BBB and get it resolved that way. All I want now is either replace the battery or refund me the amount paid and I will go over to Sears and pick up a new battery. On top of this I'm going to cancel my AAA Membership at the end of this year due to this kind of run around for a member who has been with AAA for 15+ years. I will post this on Consumer report so People know how poor service I have received for being a Loyal AAA customer. All of this happened in Vernon Hills, IL so if you Get AAA Be careful if they assign you to Excel Road Service and never buy AAA Battery. I learned it the hard way of their P*** poor service.

On 21st of February I was travelling south bound on I-95 when I was close to Winch Rd intersection of I-95 in Maryland I realized my vehicle's lug nut was open so I pulled over right underneath Winch Road bridge on I-95 south bound I believe the town name is Port Deposit MD. I came out of my car suddenly and I didn't realize I locked my car key in the ignition with the running engine. I called AAA around 11:32 PM explained my problem that I need my tire to be fixed plus I'm locked out. I was provided reference number ** for my call. After a while I called again to check the status of my call I was told ROADSIDE SOLUTIONS ELKTON, MD. dispatched a driver for my help.
About 20 minutes later a driver pulled over behind my car in a pickup truck with a yellow light flashing on top of his truck. I explained him my problem I was facing. I realized he was so high he didn't even hear what I said. He ordered me to protect his back while he was trying to open the door so that no car gonna hit his back. As soon as he opened the door and ran back to his truck and locked himself inside the truck. I walked slowly to his vehicle and requested him to fix my tire as well. He opened about 6 inches of his window and yelled "I CAN'T DO THAT" I realized his poor situation he was in. I found it was better to fix the tire myself. I requested him if I could borrow his jack and tire wrench that I didn't have in my car unfortunately that night. He yelled again, "I don't have in my truck." (Imagine a AAA driver for roadside assistance having no jack and tire wrench on a service call for tire problem.)
I again realized he was not in his sense what he was doing. I again requested him to at least stay behind my car for my back up for few minutes at least let me check if I could fix my tire myself. He yelled again I can't stay for long time. He moved his truck at 10 yards behind my vehicle like I was a dangerous person. As soon as I came to my car I realized he was long gone. I called again AAA for help and said what their driver did to me in the middle of the night the operator asked she will call me back with the new dispatch status.
About 5 minutes later I was surrounded by bunch of K9 and state troopers. They said they got complaint from AAA that I ran over their driver with the tire wrench and metal rod and tried to hurt him. I explained humbly to the cops the situation I was facing for the last 90 minutes and I offered them to search my whole car and if they find any tire wrench or any metal rod I'll happily surrender my for arrest. One of the cops was kind enough to understand my situation and realized how AAA was behaving with me. He called another tow truck for my help. I had to pay $175 to take my car to the next exit where I had to pay again to fix my car.
I called again AAA and spoke to Mr. ** AAA midnight dispatcher who refused to help me and said he called cops on me for my help not to arrest me. He also said ROADSIDE SOLUTIONS ELKTON, MD who dispatched the driver might have filed complaint against me. That was the last time I used AAA and will never use in my life again. That was the worst lesson of my life. I recommend everyone not to use AAA especially if you're in Maryland. Drug addicted drivers might put you in trouble instead of helping you out.

Seemed to be a good idea to have road service on our vehicle for travel. I made the mistake of signing up for AAA online in 2014. Discovered after a couple months of being a member that we already had "road service and emergency coverage" thru General Motors extended warranty. Called to cancel our membership for any refund to our Visa card. Unfortunately failed to follow up on that only to discover that we had automatic deductions taken out for a further 3 years.
When it was discovered, and a refund was requested, I was informed that when we failed to "uncheck" the box on the online membership form for automatic withdraw, they legally were under no obligation to refund anything but current year. The agent specified that using "automatic payment" was a legal contract and they were under no obligation to refund anything but current year; regardless as to whether I was aware of the membership or not. Lesson learned: Read the fine print; carefully examine ALL boxes checked or unchecked; because if you are not careful, you may be obligated by law to pay whether you want the service or not. Total loss to me was $ 400.00 for membership we never knew about.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Sunday (8/14/16) I called AAA due to a dead battery. The dispatcher advised this wasn't a problem and they would send someone from Affordable Battery by 8:30 p.m. The technician arrived at 8:16 p.m. and was very nice. I mentioned to him, as well as to dispatch, that I had been away for 2 months and my car had not been started during that time. He stated that was no problem, and proceeded to hook up the jumper cables. After a minute (3 or 4 tries) my car started right up. He let it run for a minute, maybe less, and removed one of the cables, at which point my car went completely dead again. I asked what happened, then he reconnected the cable back up to the battery which produced a significant amount of sparks.
The car started up immediately. He told me to turn off the car, which I did, and he proceeded to advise me that my battery was completely dead and I would need a brand new battery. He also claimed that the dead battery in my car had been discontinued. This battery was put in my car in April of 2015, also by Affordable Battery sent out by AAA. I asked the technician why I could possibly need a new battery, when the current one wasn't even 2 years old. He stated that the only way it would be covered under warranty would be due to a manufacturer defect, and 1 or 2 other reasons, and that "severe damage" was not covered under the warranty.
I was told "severe damage" included not starting the car for 2 months, as was my situation. I asked for the price and he rattled that off in a split second, down to the penny. The battery I purchased in August of 2015 was $15.00 less than the one I was told I needed. There was no offer of a prorated amount, or even a suggestion that may be an option. He then realized he didn't have any batteries with him and would have to go get one and come back. He went all the way back to his shop, came back over an hour later, and installed the new battery fairly quickly, took my check, gave me a receipt and his business card, and left. The technician was very nice, but I feel as if I got ripped off.
First of all, when I initially called AAA, I stated it was a dead battery issue. That being the reason for the call, the technician should have ensured that he had the proper battery in his truck. He left around 8:35 or 8:40 p.m., to pick up the new battery. Prior to his leaving, I advised the technician I had an early morning appointment across town and needed the car first thing. He did not return until approximately 9:40 p.m. Completely unacceptable that he arrived without the battery, and that I then had to wait for approximately hour for him to return.
There was a "Limited Warranty" condition circled on my receipt from August of 2015, which I pointed out to him. His only response to this was "we don't make any money off batteries." I find it hard to believe that a subcontractor for AAA doesn't make any money on installing batteries. Why can't AAA send out an actual AAA employee, as opposed to a subcontractor, who clearly has to make money to survive? I have read other reviews this evening, after this experience, and there seems to be a common theme that AAA Affordable Battery is a rip-off.
I have had my AAA membership for approximately 32 years and have barely ever had to use them. However, I will be filing a formal complaint with them and I will be demanding a prorated credit be returned to me. I fully believe that AAA Affordable Battery is a rip-off, and that AAA should stick to sending out THEIR OWN ACTUAL EMPLOYEES for simple things, such as a dead battery, to alleviate the appearance of impropriety and/or price gouging. Obviously, when I tell the technician I need my car for early Monday morning, and it's Sunday night at 8:15, any subcontractor knows they have you over a barrel.
I want to reiterate, the technician was VERY nice, despite my obvious infuriation at the news my battery was completely dead and would need to spend $150.00 to get a new one. Being a female, and not having much knowledge about car batteries, I'm a prime target. And by the way, the battery that was replaced in August of 2015 was over 6 years old, and was a battery that was purchased from AutoZone and installed by a trusted mechanic. The technician who came out in August of 2015 was amazed that the battery had lasted as long as it did. Seems to me AAA Affordable Battery is installing sub-par batteries, in the hopes that they will have plenty of "repeat business". I think a complaint to the BBB will be my next step after my complaint to AAA tomorrow. If I can, I will update this post if additional information, positive or negative, becomes available.

Pros: The benefits were great and came in handy when needed. Unfortunately, due to an employee I sadly have to give 2 stars. She truly ruined my views on the professionalism of this company. Sure sucks. Cons: Unfortunately, I received my first (and only) traffic ticket. Super minor violation. My bill went from $100/month to $180/month. I decided to continue service and pay for my mistake because so far I enjoyed the insurance benefits and the CS team.
After paying $180 for 2 months, my bill went up to $260/month. Curious, I called for an explanation. I was already paying an increased rate due to my one point, so why did it raise again if nothing else changed on my record? Instead of getting answers, I got yelled at by a CS rep. She told me "IT'S MY FAULT." and "That's what happens when you get a point. You got a point... RIGHT?!" Just flat out rude and condescending. I asked to speak to someone else and the rep informed me SHE was helping me and kept repeating it was "my fault, my fault, my fault". If there was a reasonable explanation for my bill I would have been happy enough to continue services. But that I'll never know because she refused to say anything else, and refused to transfer me. I told her I had no issue paying $260 (looking back, I was crazy), but I was going to look around and compare prices because I felt my question wasn't being answered.
The rep RAISED HER VOICE, said "EXCUUUSE ME!" every time I tried to get a word in and told me "Good luck finding anything cheaper. YOU WON'T." Ok so I like a challenge, so naturally I tell her I'll look around for something cheaper. And IF I find something cheaper, I'd call back and cancel. But I'd be happy to keep AAA if it truly was the cheapest. She asks me why I'd want to cancel and I tell her it was because I don't understand my price hike. She then hangs up on me.
A few hours later I call back in hopes of getting someone new... which I did. However, the very nice new rep informed me she showed that I cancelled my insurance 3 hours prior. I explain the situation, said I didn't request to cancel but the other rep must have done it out of anger. The rep explained they close in 30 minutes and unfortunately if I wanted to keep services, I had 30 minutes to decide. She very politely explained why: to avoid insurance lapses, better safe than sorry (advice I'll always remember). I did find a cheaper insurance so I called back and cancelled. I did let the rep know I'd stay with AAA if it weren't for that one employee. The rep said she understood completely and apologized for my experience. I really appreciated that... But sadly, I will never take being yelled. That's my deal breaker.

I accidentally gave the roadside assistance agent my old AAA membership number. He said "Hold on. I'll call member services for you and get your membership number." Once he returned he had the wrong name and person membership number and told me it had expired and I just purchased the membership 2 weeks ago. I then told him "Can you tell me the membership number or name" and he told me "No I cannot give out that information." I was very confused of why he couldn't tell me the name or membership number that came up.
I told him he must have the wrong information. "I found the correct membership number. Can you please enter this." He told me "No you must contact member services. I cannot help you." I told him "I didn't want any help. I want you to input the correct information and send out a tow truck." Once again the guy was very arrogant and did not want to process my membership number correctly then passed me off to member services to be forgotten about. Cancelled the service the very next day. Very disgusted. Then was told refund would be given. Issued a check. Unacceptable. Paid with debit. Credit card payment taken immediately. Refund should be given the same way. Why should I wait 7 to 10 days for my refund when payment was taken immediately. Refund should be given immediately back to my bank card the way it was issued or cash at a Triple A location. On July 21, 2016: I came in for your assistance with Tags and Title after I moved from out of state to MD. I first called and discussed the service with someone. I also made a query online to be sure I had everything required. I was told no appointment was necessary. When I arrived I was referred to the waiting area for 1/2 hour. There were two Tag & Title people there to provide service. One customer. When I was called, the more senior of the two, a gentleman, called me over. He proceeded to waste my time trying to provide me reasons not to use the service. Cost and the fact that I was going to pay by cash seemed the primary objections. I had the distinct impression he thought this would be too expensive for me. Then he started in on how my papers had to be walked over to the Dept. of Motor Vehicle's office due to the car being a 2010 car. New rules apply to more recent cars. You'd think they did not want the business.
Then he involved the trainee. Things went downhill. She gave me the forms to fill out myself. She then whited out the inserts I made in the power of attorney form. Never mind that I am a lawyer. The gentleman corrected that back to what I wrote. Tick tock, folks. I came to save time. Then I was directed to the service counter to pay. There were two cashiers. I approached the gentleman. He looked everything over and then told the other female employee to do it. So I waited while she looked it over. And, yes, I paid cash. The Tag & Title man must have been shocked. I went back and waited while the two people at that desk made copies and had me sign more stuff. Then they directed me to the car service desk. The woman there said her computer was down. She plunked and plunked on it. Then she moved to the next machine. It was working. Still I waited.
She said nothing else to me other than the first remark. I waited ten minutes. Then she took calls that were on hold. One man was asked six times if he had ever been in the store before. He never did answer. But she persisted. I walked out and went to the dealer where I spent well over a thousand dollars on repairs and my inspection. They could have had that business. As I walked out in a huff the cashier who handed my Tag & Title payment to his coworker to handle asked me if I'd like to get an insurance review. That was hilarious! No. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.
July 27, 2016: I returned to pick up my tags once they came in. I was told I should return after my car inspection. I was again told no appointment was necessary. The person was polite. August 2, 2016: When I returned to get my permanent tags at 9:30 am on August 2, I was told no one was in at Tags & Title. I could come back in a half hour. Seriously? These folks do this every day but have no cross-training program or a manager who can fill in?
I called their 888 number and went over to the Rockville office. Nothing will convince me to return to the Shady Grove office. The person on duty in Rockville was nice, but when I went to pay at the cashier's desk no one was there. I waited five minutes for that person to return to her desk. What is the point of so many warm bodies doing nothing? There were two men at cashier stations but they only handle automotive matters. I was asked if I wanted a AAA credit card or a AAA insurance review. Hilarious! Again, their commitment to service is terrible.

I called Triple A to jump off a battery on an SUV in the garage. The person finally arrived and performed a diagnostic teddy. Everything was fine except the battery needed to be charged. He suggested driving it around since it had been sitting. I sat in the garage for awhile and just let the motor run. After awhile, I backed the SUV out of the garage. The front door was not locked. The house key was in the key chain with the key that operated the SUV. Since the SUV had been running quite awhile, I turned off the car and locked the front door. When I turned it on the car wouldn't start. I got someone to jump it off. Although it had been running again it seemed like it was about to choke down. I didn't want to risk it on the road so I drove it back into the two car garage where another car was sitting with no battery. I turned off the SUV and went to turn down the garage and the SUV was in the garage, but not enough for the sensors.
I called triple A again and asked if the same guy could come back and jump the SUV off. I explained what happened. That he performed a diagnostic test but the battery still wouldn't work. The Triple A rep told me they would send someone out again, but it would cost me another free call. I didn't think that was right. I spoke with a manager who said the same thing. Do not use a Triple A. They want to rip you off by taking free service calls multiple times on the same call. Very bad customer relations.

Once my year mark came and my policy needed to renew, I got a letter saying my renewal would start July 31st and every month I owed $173. So my policy went up $30 a month for no reason. I didn't even ask them why because I found a policy with another company for $115 a month for the same coverage. I heard some companies used low rates to get you in then raise them, it's possible that was the case. But I am glad I never had an accident to deal with them. Just be careful.

I've been a AAA Plus Member since 1992 and haven't had any complaints in the service until I decided to have AAA install a new battery in my vehicle. Since first new battery was installed, I noticed that in about a week's time the battery would completely lose its charge and at that time I would call AAA to come and charge it and check battery. They have done this now three times which on one occasion the battery could be charged but again only lasts a week. So I called them again and this time they claim that something on my vehicle was draining it but they would go ahead and replace it. Again they replaced my dead battery after a week with what they claim to be a brand new battery.
Each time these batteries have been installed I noticed that when my keys are in the ignition and my door is open that I could barely hear the bell notification sound, it wasn't faint that I have mentioned this to each battery tech and they didn't seem to either care or listen to my complaint. The way I see it is that AAA installs rebuild batteries claiming that they are new OR all the new batteries are bad and have bad cells. Either way I'm sitting here today with yet another dead new battery that I took out of my vehicle and carried into an Auto shop to have them charge it for me. Well not only is it a dead battery but they informed me that it's bad and will not hold a charge. The last AAA Battery Specialist told me that I had a bad alternator and that he could tell just by the way it stalls out immediately after he removes the cables.
So I have my mechanic remove my alternator and I take it in to be tested and they proceed to tell me that my alternator is working fine. I'm so done with this AAA Battery ** and I now want my money back. I've wasted so much time going back and forth with them about their batteries and now even more time and money having my alternator taken out and tested that I'm now seeing RED!
TODAY my vehicle is going in to a shop so that my alternator can be put back in and the dead battery that remains in my vehicle again can be tested. When diagnosed I'm calling AAA to come and take their 3rd bad battery back and I expect a full refund now. I'm not going to have them put another dead draining battery in my vehicle again. I will post on this site the results of my request for a refund on their bad batteries. I have never had any trouble at all with any of my previous batteries until I had AAA Battery Service install a so-called new battery in 2015. My daughters were traveling through Florida and broke down near Daytona Beach. It was over 95 degrees in the middle of the afternoon. It took almost an hour and a half for the tow truck to get there and he had a female passenger with him. Once he hooked up my daughter's car, he informed them that it was their policy to have them ride in the towed vehicle and not in the cab of the tow truck. Not being from Florida they thought this was normal business practice and they complied.
Because the battery was dead, they were not able to roll the windows down and quickly the car became unbearably hot and they had no way to communicate with the tow truck driver. By the time they arrived at the auto shop, they were drenched in sweat and sick from the heat. This is very serious and potentially life threatening and I believe illegal to have customers ride in the back of a towed vehicle. They lodged a complaint with AAA and have not received a return call and I tried to lodge a complaint and after being on hold 35 minutes, the line was cut off. This is not what I expect as a AAA member. I have always trusted AAA and now I don't. This is certainly not the customer service I expect.

Not only did they not arrive when she called back they said they were "closed" and unable to help her for 3 hours and to call back then. When she called back they said they had no one to help her and no estimate of when she would get help. I called local towing companies and within 10 minutes found several towing companies that could help.
She broke down at 6 pm and was finally towed at midnight...and not by AAA! The whole reason I signed up for AAA was to protect my daughter on the road, afraid of her getting stranded and something bad happening to her! I called to complain this morning and they offered no explanations and a weak apology. I've researched AAA and similar companies and they all pay their towing companies pitifully so that's why the service is so poor. Now I will be using HONK, a new app that finds you quick roadside service like Uber. No fee for the app either. If you have AAA thinking you will be rescued quickly if your car breaks down, time to cancel it!

I have had two experiences with AAA roadside assistance: once in North Florida, and once in Northern Alabama. Both times, something happened to my car unexpectedly. Once related to tires/wheels and the other time the alternator. I called and had less than satisfactory treatment. In North Florida, I was told I didn't have the service, even though I had been paying for it for the last 6 months. I had to continue arguing on a dying phone about it, and had to call friends to get assistance with dealing with the situation. All in all, it took 3 and 1/2 hours for someone to show and tow my car.
In the second situation, I called from northern Alabama after my car quickly shut down after an alert related to the alternator and battery unexpectedly popped up. I was first told that a tow truck was on the way, but this was, in fact, a lie. That truck had gone to Memphis with a car. I was told a second servicer would be on his way to me. 30 minutes later, I receive a notification that the tow truck had just left and would take 20 minutes longer than expected. This was all happening late at night, barely on the side of a dark highway with vehicles going close to 70 mph in the lane about 30 feet from the car. I had no other option (see: rural Alabama) and had to wait. I'm not sure if this is an issue via call centers or some of the locally sourced tow work, but these are two similar experiences in different regions, both with poor results. For what I pay, I expect better.

By 2 am still no tow & he was finally told he could call a commercial tow company & AAA "should" reimburse for the tow or he could stay in a hotel & tow it in the morning. He called me at that point.
I called AAA spoke to a supervisor in the road service (RS) department, advised her I had been a AAA member for 25 years & have had premier since it was first offered, she called the dispatch supervisor. When she came back to me she said they were calling all the tow companies again to find us a tow. By 3 am they finally called my husband and told him a tow company would be there in 90 mins. At this point I jumped in our truck & drove down to where he was (45 mins from our home), put the motorcycle in the back of our pickup & got him home. By the time we left we still had not seen a tow truck. Oh & this is not the worst of it. I had the RS supervisor create a complaint claim with member experience.
On Monday morning I called the member exp dept. The guy I spoke there just kept saying they just got the claim & have not had a chance to review or investigate. He wouldn't even get me a supervisor when I requested it. At this point I posted on AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Facebook page & tweeted on their Twitter. I also tweeted to ML Doney's (CEO of AAA National) personal twitter account, sent an email to ML Doney & R Darbelnet, the CEO & COO of Operations.
The AAA of Northern CA FB, messaged me asking for my member number & said a manager would contact me. So far I haven't heard from anyone. I messaged on FB again they said a manager had tried to call me, but couldn't get a hold of me. I have check the vm on my cell & home number and there was nothing from a AAA manager. Similar to another recent reviewer in Tampa, FL, I encountered an issue with my just under 2 year old AAA battery. My car began experiencing problems holding a charge and got progressively worse over a 4-day period. On the final day (5/26/2016), I was able to get the car started after some difficulty and called AAA battery service expecting them to run a test showing it was faulty. It "passed" the basic test and the tech was not able to override the testing tool to force it to run a full second-level test.
Because it "passed" the test, AAA would not replace the battery under warranty. I then took the car to my local Honda dealer and had them replace the battery and have had no further issues. I submitted a request to AAA Member Services for a reimbursement credit that I could use for future annual road-service membership renewals. They would not provide any form of reimbursement for the failed AAA battery which should have been replaced under warranty. I've been a AAA member for about 25 years and have used the battery service to replace a couple vehicle batteries in the recent past. Frankly, I would've been satisfied with reimbursement in some form for a portion of the total expense I incurred to replace the AAA battery (about $145). Based on this extremely poor customer service I will likely not purchase any other AAA batteries in the future.

A towing company called to ask what type of car he would have to tow. He did not have the details because the job had been farmed out to him by the official company that AAA deals with in Milwaukee.
Remains to be seen whether the person who will eventually tow our car is an approved AAA service person. The last time we called AAA the person said that there were 22 comments on this incident file. Also, the police stopped and told us that we should be gone within 2 hours... and that was 3 hours ago. What happens if we get a fine, is AAA guilty of not being able to fulfill their service agreement or do they continue to get away with contemptuous service?

I drove from Birmingham, Al in my 2007 Lexus GS350 to pick up the RX from my niece who I bought it from and I am scheduled to work here this week. My daughter was going to drive the RX back to Birmingham. The AAA contract Tow service, Rescue Professionals, were dispatched by AAA Roadside Assistance. The guy who arrived could not fit his truck into the parking garage (I advised rep it was in a parking garage). He brought a jump box that did not jump the RX so he went back to his vehicle to charge it more, took him about 15 min or so.
He comes back in still the jump box, won't charge the battery. He stated he did not have any jumper cables on his truck so he called another driver. In the meantime he called someone who suggested that he take the battery out of my GS and put it in the RX. He did that, almost put cables on wrong terminals. When he put the battery back in my car and however he tried to put the cables back on the battery it caused a loud pop accompanied by sparks. At this point the RX is running but my car (GS) that I drove from Birmingham is no longer running. I'm unable to start the GS350. He said to me ,"It must have blown a fuse" . At this point I had to walk away before I blew my fuse! My niece told me later that he looked at them and said, "You guys called it" .
He then decided to attempt to jump the GS off with the RX battery we just got jumped. This action killed the RX. Now we have the RX DEAD in the drive of the parking garage blocking another vehicle. The Rescue Professionals driver left the garage and never came back. He never advised us he was leaving. Thankfully someone came into the parking garage and offered to help us push the RX into a parking spot. AAA called me at 01:53 at which time I explained that we needed assistance again because now the GS that was working originally was now not working and the person they sent to help us had ABANDONED US. I explained we were too exhausted to continue. We had to call Uber take us to my nieces where we attempted to rest before starting another incredibly long and painful AAA day. I have not slept since Monday night. I have not eaten since dinner since the night before.
May 11, 2016 I called AAA back and requested AAA employee to come help. The supervisor sent me AAA employee to troubleshoot my car. He determined that indeed a main fuse was blown. He called in to get a wrecker that was AAA Company owned and could fit in the parking garage. Both AAA guys that came were TRUE PROFESSIONALS who treated me as if I were a VIP! I eventually made it to Import Auto Maintenance on Broadway in downtown Nashville where I just found out that the contractor Rescue Professionals, who AAA dispatched, has damaged the Fusible block assembly. So far the repair is going cost $319.65, thankfully other than that only 5 smaller amperage fuses have been damaged.
AAA is not paying the repair I had to come out of pocket. I spent most of the day on the phone battling this and they suggested I call Rescue Professionals. I eventually got a call from AAA telling me a claim was submitted and they are waiting to hear from the owner of Rescue Professionals, Frank! He has to talk to the driver before determining if they will validate my claim.
May 16, 2016, I place a phone call to Dhanetta ** - AAA Service 'Monitor-Field Support' Member Communications. She advised me on Thursday that I should hear something by Friday evening and I would be updated. I called her today @ 13:06 and received voicemail. I immediately emailed asking for an update. 13:38 I received and email from Ms. ** claiming my case had been forwarded to a field manager. I recovered a call from Ms. ** at 15:53, she advised that I had 3 options: accept half the cost of the repair, file civil suit against Rescue Professionals, go to my local club and file another damage claim. I told her that was not acceptable that I did not call Rescue Professionals, I called AAA. She merely repeated herself twice, "Your three options are ...".
She advised me that the guy who investigated is the same guy that signed this new company. And they claim they have no tools on their trucks. My question for her is, "Why would I call AAA if I'm just going to do my own work". It doesn't make sense. I don't care who pays for the repair as long as it gets paid! This is insane that I've had to deal with this frustration and aggravation.

On May 11, 2016 I experienced a flat tire. I contacted AAA and for 2 hrs. and 15 minutes I got several promises that their truck (AM/PM Towing Inc of Boulder City) was "only 2 miles away"... Since I was on a 4 lane only 5 minutes from two major cities in Nevada and easy to find I was amazed in their inability to get someone out to me. As nightfall came and the situation became dangerous I was lucky to have a State HWY Patrol stop and provide headlights so that I could change the tire myself. I registered my complaint with AAA numerous times the evening of the flat and twice since. No call back or any sign that they give a damn. Very disappointing. (Good thing for AAA that it was not my wife stuck out there.)

My back left tire popped yesterday 5/12/2016. I called to get a member out to fix it. He came in the allotted time that I was told. Very kind. After he had left the spare tire popped again (it was old, not his fault), so I called today 5/13/2016 to get it towed and Jeff came in the allotted time I was told, was super helpful, understanding, and professional. Took me where I need to go and I would recommend them to anyone.

Working in the medical field, I encounter a lot of people during hard times of adversity and I try to display my best skills medically but also emotionally and supportively during times of stress. I have used AAA service for years now but they just keep getting better. Adam responded to me today when I locked my keys in the car during my lunch break at work. He not only arrived earlier than the specified time, but also brought my keys to my work for me as I needed to see patients at a certain time at the doctor's office I work at requiring him to drive twice as much . He was extremely respectful and you could hear a voice or genuine concern when he spoke to you and wanted to help. No complaints, no questions asked.
For all the normal thousands of comments that are negative, I encourage readers to read the few that are good. Doesn't take much to inspire a negative report when someone is angry but it sure does provide meaning when someone is moved enough to take the time for a great one! Adam in Gainesville, GA. Locksmith company used by AAA, you get ten stars if I could!

I requested a tow at 5:00 pm this Saturday 5-7-16. The woman who answered the phone told me the tow would be there in 1.5 hours at the latest. 1 hour later they called again to ask me for the same information I had previously given them which was that I could not shift gears so I could not put my car in neutral... then it was 7:30 pm and still no tow.
So I called again and they said the tow guy was on his way and would call me shortly. No call from the tow guy again. I then went home because I had my baby with me and could not keep waiting in a parking lot - mind you, the girl who originally answered the phone heard my baby and was aware I had my baby with me but decided to not be upfront and just keep me waiting for a tow that would never show up instead of telling me to go home and not wait or telling me they would call me when a tow is located so I can return to the car... I am now home still waiting and they call me at 9 pm, they said the same thing that they were on the way.
Then I call at 10:30 and they tell me the tow should be there by 11:15... It is now 11:45 pm and no tow. So I call again and they finally tell me they are having problems locating a tow. And while on this call, they call me at the same time and FINALLY tell me no tow will be coming my way because they could not locate a tow for me... so I waited ALL afternoon under false pretense and false information given to me throughout the whole afternoon. Then the girl tells me I am stuck leaving my car there and being towed at my own expense because they will not reimburse me. They could have just told me this before and I would have found some other way to get my car towed. But I wasted my whole afternoon waiting for something that never came all because they were not upfront and just liars telling me they were on the way to help me.

It's the worst insurance company in the history of USA... really bad customer service, bad insurance, not helpful, make appointment but not show up, take them forever to give estimate, won't answer your calls. There is a lot more to say. I will never recommend this insurance to anyone. ** it.

We had a horrible experience with AAA booking our vacation. Took us way out of our way with long layover on fights. Then put us up at a horrible place. The travel agent talked us out of going to Cancun and said to go to Cozumel after we told her we did not want rocky beaches. The beach had rocks everywhere and water smelled like sewer. I would NOT recommend them for travel.

I attempted to get a truck that I purchased eighty miles away to my home so that I could get it repaired locally. After waiting over three and one half hours, I was told it wasn't in their policy to tow vehicles registered as non op without a one day moving pass. It was too late to get one, and I had to figure out how to get back home. Two days later, I got the moving permit. I called again for a tow and was told that two people from AAA misinformed me and they still weren't able to tow my vehicle.
I was then asked by "Steve," a supervisor, who told me it was OK. Mind you, I spoke with several people regarding this matter and couldn't remember. In so many words, Steve said he would be able to accommodate me if he knew their identities instead of honoring the error on their part and just tow my vehicle. He then told me that if he did authorize the tow, his job was on the line. Is it OK to tell a member we made a mistake, sorry that you're stranded over eighty miles from home, accept our errors and act like everything is peachy keen?
They say the conversation may be recorded but naturally they can't find where at least two of their agents told me I needed the one day working pass in order to have my vehicle towed. I definitely wouldn't have attempted to get it towed a second time if I wasn't given the green light with the pass in hand. The whole scenario made me realize how a company can tell you anything they want to about their "tailor made" policies after they have your money. My image of AAA is definitely a tarnished one after this fiasco and insult to my intelligence and character.

I would like to give a round of applause to AAA roadside assistance company. It must be delightful to have them as a reputable company since the tow truck drivers' poor judgment made them become the biggest morons in the entire nation. They've refused to tow my vehicle because they've falsely claimed my vehicle was modified. Why would I want to modify a daily driver vehicle? Modify to a certain extent is acceptable since Advance Auto Parts/Pep Boys/O' Reilly's also sells brand new, cost effective aftermarket parts that are equivalent to original manufacturer's parts. That's like stating, "I'm sorry, we're unable to tow your vehicle because it has tinted windows." "I'm sorry, we're unable to tow your vehicle because it has an Optima battery." Uh... yeah. Okay! Have they ever owned my vehicle? If not, they do not have the right to judge whether if the vehicle is able to be towed or not... Perhaps, discrimination plays a big role in our society today.

My husband and I have had Plus/Premier AAA service for over 31 years and when our daughter started driving we added her to the policy. We never really had to use them much except for a few tows with my Suburban which seemed to go alright. My daughter got stuck down in Orlando a couple of weeks ago and she called us. My husband who was a mechanic for 30+ years, thought it was the battery or a belt came off. We told her to call AAA to come and check the battery and belts as the car didn't start. When the assistance arrived he checked the battery and said it was bad. She asked him to see if the belts were okay and he said yes. He proceeded sell her a battery which she would have bought but he didn't have the right one. He charged it up and said she could drive to the nearest Wal-Mart to buy one. He hadn't left the parking lot yet and she tried to drive it but it just died.
He charged it again and checked the alternator which he said was good. She tried again but ended up just parking it but it began to die again. He just ended up leaving so the next day she had AAA tow it to our house. When my husband looked at it, he saw there was no belt on the alternator. We couldn't understand how he would say the belt was on it and then say the alternator was good if it wasn't even turning?? My husband put a belt on it and it was fine.
Also, when they towed it here, she has a Scion XB that has a spoiler in the front, (sits low). When they were letting it roll of the tow truck, the whole spoiler was catching and was ready to crack. I said something to him and he kept going. Then the chain got caught under the spoiler and he proceeded to try to yank it off. I was telling him to be careful because we just painted the bumper & spoiler. He won't stop so my husband had to reach under the car from the side to unhook it. What a nightmare! My husband and I were both shaking our heads at this disaster. Very disappointed with them as they don't know what they are doing. It's a shame they have gone so downhill. All that over a belt.

As a premier member of AAA, I am supposed to receive good service on the road, Mayo of City towing of Merced, CA came after waiting more than 45 minutes, the guy showed up, did not even offer me a water! This is required and a must when you're out stranded on the road in the heat. I specifically asked for a truck with air to fill a tire that was flat, A truck showed up and when he got there asked me for my AAA card. I gave it to him and told him I had a flat tire and the spare was low on air and all I needed was to get my tire aired up. He said he did not have air. He said he was very busy. He told me he could tow me and he also wanted to pick up another customer and tow them on the back of his truck and have us ride together since I lived in Los Banos and they were going to the same area.
I told him this was not acceptable; I asked him if he could send another truck with air like I asked the ERS dispatcher originally so as not to damage the tire. He responded No! That he was too busy. Then I asked if he could give me a ride to a service station where I could use the restroom and get something to drink, and get some air in my tire to see if it even holds air. And if it doesn't hold air, I would need to be towed to a tire shop. He agreed. I told him I didn't think that moving the vehicle on the spare tire that had low air was a good idea.
I suggested to put on the other tire that had a blowout previously (why I called in the first place). He refused, said he would not do that. He said it would be all right and that he does this all the time. He went to hook up the truck to my vehicle and told me to get in to steer it; and put the brakes on and put it in park while he used the wrench to pull it up onto the flatbed. I told him I was not comfortable doing that; he said, "You have to, if you want a tow!" So I reluctantly did this.
While the vehicle was being winched up onto the flatbed I heard some real loud noise coming from the front suspension where these big hooks were attached. After I got out; he hooked some chains to the back to secure it and really tightened the hydraulics until another loud noise came; then he stopped; I told him that didn't sound good. He replied, "That's nothing. I do this all the time." As we approached Merced, I spotted a Jack in the box and asked to stop and use the restroom. He refused, he said the gas station is right down there. He didn't have time for this and we sat in traffic at the lights for an additional ten to fifteen minutes.
When we got to the gas station there was no restroom. I went and got the air myself, started to air up my tire and the driver immediately stopped me, I got to let off some tension off the chains and then I went to try to air it up again and barely got 5 lbs of air pressure when he stopped me again saying, "Stop! Stop! You can finish airing up when I get it off the truck."; and I replied, "I don't know if it is even going to hold air. I would like to air it up." "You can finish airing up when I get it off the truck."
And I replied, "I want to wait a few minutes to see if it will hold air because if it doesn't, I will need to be towed to a tire shop. Like you agreed to earlier." He said, "I don't hear it leaking; I am dropping you here." He told me to get up onto the flatbed while it was at a 45 degree angle and put it in neutral; I told him, "I don't feel comfortable doing that; can't you do that? Isn't that your job?" He replied, "This is your van. If you don't want your ** damaged you'll get up there!"
It was filthy dirty - I got up there - it was all greasy and oily. I slipped and twisted my ankle injuring it and nearly fell off. My clothes were ruined. As he was lowering my vehicle, at a very sharp angle and very fast, I heard the bottom of my van scraping the cement. After the vehicle was on the ground, I got out and looked and noticed that there was a foot long scrape in the cement and right above this is where my plug used for trailer lights and socket and wiring was all pulled out. The bracket was bent. I walked down the street to a used tire shop and purchased a tire and had them mount and balance it. I went and put it on myself. On the drive home I noticed something wrong with my steering; it was now all over the road and something was bent or damaged and alignment damaged and it was steering perfectly prior to this damage done by Mayo of City Town of Merced, CA.
I feel that this call was useless and should be erased or taken off of my account. Also, I want the damages done to my vehicle covered. I recommend that City Town of Merced lose their account with AAA for this gross breach of customer service standards usually offered by AAA. This driver, Mayo, said he does this All the time. I wonder how many others have had this experience. Therefore City Town of Merced is not a good vendor or representative of AAA. We have been premier members of AAA since 2013, myself and my wife, and are seriously considering cancelling our membership due to this awful service given to us!

1.0-star rating, 4/2/2016. On May 2014 I bought a membership for AAA and I never needed to use it until last Monday. I had two flat tires. The first tow truck arrived one hour later after I requested the service at 9 pm. The guy told me I have to move my car by myself and sign a paper explaining I was doing to my own risk because one flat was completely on the ground. I thought he could change that flat tire by my spare, but for that request I needed a new request to AAA. I agreed to open a new request, but he said he will not change my flat tire and he left the place.
One hour later after many calls to AAA the guy to change the flat tire arrived and again many calls to found out when the tow truck would arrive, until 1:15 am when I decided to cancel the request until next morning and called a friend for a raid. Next morning I opened a new request to move my car two block to a repair shop near the place. After many call I decided to do it by myself with a good neighbor who took the tires to the repair shop. I thought AAA membership could give me the peace of mind if I have a situation like this, but I was completely wrong.

I just had the worst experience ever with a AAA company in Castro Valley. I ran out of gas while with my small child because my gas gauge is not accurate. I was told that someone would be on their way in no longer than 45 min. I waited and called when it had been 45 min. I called again to ask what was going on because I hadn't even received any call or message letting me know when someone would be here. I told them my small child was with me & that we needed to use a bathroom immediately, but they said there was nothing they could do. They told me the guy who was supposed to come help me was running 25 min behind & that he was having "trouble" installing a battery. They know how to install batteries. Someone wasn't doing their job.
I ended up having a really bad accident due to my stomachache and having to wait almost an HOUR AND 15 MIN. Had he gotten here by 45 min, I would have made it to a restroom! When the man got here, it was too late. I had to call my mother to come help me all the way from Walnut Creek. How ridiculous! This company is not dependable! I have had other bad experiences when it comes to waiting much longer than the time they tell you to expect them. I'm SO disappointed & unimpressed!
