I purchased auto insurance in April which would have provided coverage until Oct. They canceled my policy 07/30/2018 because they said I owed them $43.15. I had paid them $503.12. When I called 08/20 because I got the cancellation letter. They said that I would have to get a new policy and that it would be 60% more. I have a home insurance policy with them and roadside membership. Now that I know how they treat their customers. I have filed a claim. So Beware!

Called AAA service about changing a tire on my boat trailer to find out that AAA will not change a tire if boat is on trailer even if I have RV plus service. Original rep said it was safety issue and to call a commercial tow company. Called Good Sam road side. They came out changed the tire with regular tow truck and with AAA emblem on the doors. For those that have Boat US with vessel assist, they will do it, for those that have Progressive Insurance on their boat, they will do it. Boaters beware and check with your AAA if they will change a flat tire on your boat trailer with the boat on it!!! I later pressed the safety issue to find out it's their policy not to change tire on a loaded boat trailer!!!

AAA raised our payment by $100 a month. Said it was due to a glitch. They keep removing multi car discount...we have 3 vehicles with them. Also put our son who does not drive and we have proof of that...on our policy. They keep trying things to raise our rates with false reasons and I just don't trust them anymore. They won't correct the amount for this month but say we will get a discount next month. We will have to wait and see I guess.

I have a truck that I needed towed to a facility to be worked on. It doesn't run. When the guy got there to tow my vehicle, he said they don't tow projects. I told him I needed this towed, it's been out of commission for a while and I have to get it off the property. He charged me $120 for the tow. Mind you I pay for the AAA plus membership every year. I don't have a single tow on my membership yet this year. Whether the truck is a "project" or not, it still has to be towed. This seems very unfair to me. I want a refund of the $120 tow fee.

Service reps are generally wonderful people. Pretty responsive to most of my claims in a "timely" manner. I have a gold membership level. The only complaint I have is that when I initiated my umbrella policy they neglected to send me the bill on the next year. They threatened to cut it off. They have all my correct information but I continue to never get email reminders or the paper bill for my umbrella insurance. I've tried adding the umbrella policy to my digital account but it keeps saying "not found". Information is correct. Yes, I'm doing the process correctly.
When requesting roadside assistance, I have had experiences where they arrive within less than 30 minutes and other time frames where it takes like 2+ hours to get to you. We gave up and just called a local towing company and forward them the bill for reimbursement. Not all AAA tow truck drivers are friendly. I've had a couple experiences where they just plow through traffic trying to get to destination. Recklessly driving and profanely driving. I've reported each of them but this is what I'm paying for?

I drive an older car that has had more than its share of problems. Yesterday, my brakes failed as I arrived at work, making for an exciting trip down the drive. I made a quick call to AAA and moments later, Dwayne ** arrived, with a smile, a friendly word, and an eager to help attitude. My car was loaded in no time, and was safely delivered to my local shop. Thanks so much, AAA and Dwayne. You made my day so much better!

I am a AAA Plus customer and have been with AAA for 20+ years. The level of service I received recently is ridiculous and extremely disappointing. We waited for a total of SIX HOURS across 2 days for tow service that never arrived. Our service ticket was sent to the wrong dispatch area and we never received any notification from AAA nor the dispatch provider of the extreme delay nor that nobody was coming. We even told AAA we're dangerously on the side of a major freeway, that it was dark out, and large trucks were speeding downhill within a couple feet of us -- and we had children present. This is preposterous. Why we're not notified service never dispatched? Why did nobody contact us about the extreme time delay - esp when we were on dangerous freeway-side? How was ticket incorrectly routed? I am so disappointed at the terrible AAA service, lack of communication, and broken processes. Where is the sense of responsibility!

I called at 6:38 on Saturday night because I had a dead battery. I was told 80 minutes which I thought was outrageous. When I still hadn't heard from anyone at 8:30 I began trying to call. I was on hold each time for quite awhile only to be disconnected. I finally got a text update that someone would be arriving at 9:01. Service technician said he was never called until almost 8:00. AAA informed me they don't provide this service after 7:00 PM any more! Apparently 24 hour roadside assistance is now only 7 am to 7 pm!

We called for a tow truck on 7/12/18 to take my car from our house to the dealership to be worked on. The transmission fluid was drained completely from the car so we could not physically drive it. When the tow truck arrived, the driver was informed of the situation (and even made jokes about how it occurred). There was also a sign taped to the steering wheel stating there was no transmission fluid so the car could not be started. The driver got the car onto the truck (without starting the car) no problems. Between leaving our house and arriving to the dealership, he forgot that he could not start the car (and obviously was not paying attention to the sign right in front of his face). He went to remove the car from his truck and proceeded to start the car, realizing right away what he did. Unfortunately it was too late and the damage was done. My less than 2 year old car now needs a new transmission after being inspected by the dealership.
We called AAA right away and started a claim. The lady in the claims department was anything but helpful. She would not return our phone calls or emails and even after getting in touch with a manager, she still didn't call us back. When we finally were able to talk to her, she claimed there was nothing they could do but also admitted that she had not talked to the tow truck driver or the inspector who was supposed to go look at the car (how can you make a decision without all the facts?). We even had a video showing the headlights turning on while the car was on the tow truck, but because there was no sound, they dismissed it.
AAA claims there is not enough evidence to prove that starting the car is what damaged the transmission. Like I stated before, my car is less than 2 years old, in great condition, with no issues before. The way AAA handled this was so disappointing. They stated that if we wanted to fight it further, we would have to contact the tow truck company directly since it was a 3rd party company that did it. I don't understand how that works since we called AAA to complete the tow and they decided to contract the work out to a 3rd party company. It's nice to know they are so willing to wipe their hands of any wrongdoing just because "there isn't enough evidence". I would think a company would want to salvage a customer relationship (I've been a member for almost 15 years and I have my car insurance through AAA). Beware if you ever have a 3rd party tow truck company show up when you call AAA. Better hope nothing goes wrong...

I am very dissatisfied with Triple A at this moment. I live in the hot Arizona desert and I call Triple A at approximately 6:28 in the morning because my car won't start and I need it to get to work. They said the response time was going to be 30 to 60 minutes and then called back and said a minimum of 70 minutes. I'm sitting in my car sweating, on crutches and about to be late for work and it frustrates me that I'm paying for this service and people could sit out on the side of the road and basically die waiting for somebody to come and assist them.

Saturday July 29th there were 12 adults and 4 dogs returning to Southern California from Tahoe, we had two motorhomes, and an Excursion in our caravan. Marge who is in her late 70s was one of the owners of one of the motorhomes in the caravan, due diligence was completed prior to our vacation and a tune up was completed on the rig that I will be speaking of. Marge has been a Gold cardholder with AAA for 37 years, she has always made her yearly payments of some $200 dollars give or take, she had never had to use the tow service until this day.
About an hour outside of Tahoe, the motorhome was not running correctly, we pulled off into a parking lot and the men on the trip started to diagnose and get under the motorhome to try and fix it, after 3 hours and multiple phone calls to mechanics and trying different scenarios, it was determined that it was beyond their scope. At that time we made our first attempt to contact AAA, they let us know that they would try to get someone out to us in 80 min since they could not use the 400 miles due to the difficulty of the tow, hmmm they stated that if they chose to do that option it would cost us $6000 to get the rig home, yes I typed that correctly. We then waited for the 80 min to get a tow to a repair shop in the small town we had broke down in.
Mind you it is 100 degrees outside and there are 12 of us and 4 dogs... After about 20 min they called back and stated that they could not help us at all that the one shop that could help us was on a call so we could try back again tomorrow! WOW is all I could say, so you take my mom's money every year, and the one time a 78 year old needs your help you tell her, "No, maybe tomorrow." I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was transferred to Jason employee ID# ** from UTAH! He also stated that he could do nothing for us, I said that was unacceptable and it is. My mom has paid over $7,400 to the company in the last 37 years never using their services and they gladly accepted the money then when she needs them they are unable to help her. They stated we could find our own tow company and they would reimburse, I again am speechless.
I think it is horrible that they get away with this kind of treatment, it should be illegal to sell a service and collect money if you cannot provide the service you are selling. I am filing this complaint as well as a complaint with AAA and asking for reimbursement of all the money for the last 37 years. What could have happened if my mom was by herself, how unacceptable is this company's behavior... We will all be canceling our memberships and will advise all of our friends to do the same... We did find a company to tow to a repair shop, they came within 30 min of our call, now why could AAA not do that, they are supposedly able to serve all of California... I am deeply upset with this company. The tow company in the picture helped us and they were very nice, nothing like AAA.

Yesterday 07/29/2018 my battery from my truck died on me on the Highway. I have the plus membership with AAA, I called as soon as it happened. I was advised that the roadside assistance was on its way and that it was going to be 30 min or less because the tow truck company was nearby. I received a text message that someone had been dispatched my way. 1 hour passed and nothing. 1 hour and a half and NOTHING. I called AAA to see what the status of my tow truck was. To my surprise, THE TOW TRUCK WAS NEVER SENT!!! THEY CANCELLED THE SERVICE WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME! Mind you I live in Fresno Ca and it was 103 degrees outside, I had never sweat that much in my life.
They kept transferring me from North side office to South Side office back to north side and ended up in south side. The same thing happened every single time I called. I called 3 times. The 3rd call I gave them the information all over again, my location and problem. They said I was going to receive a text message with my EA. 20 minutes passed and never received an update. LUCKILY and thank to god (3 hours later) a Highway Patrol stopped and helped me jump start the truck. I was waiting in the blazing heat for 3 hours. My boyfriend walked to the nearest gas station to get us water TWICE and almost passed out!!! & the Tow Truck never arrived. An hour after being home I get a call saying that my tow truck was on its way. (I called to cancel my "service" as soon as the cop helped me). So apparently someone is not doing their job.

I had an accident on Tuesday 7/25, on Wednesday 7/26 I dropped my car off at the body shop and Enterprise picked me up. I was given a Ford Fusion hybrid. I drove the car approximately 35 miles to friends place. At 4 pm I got into the car and was driving in 50 mph traffic when a warning message popped up on the dash saying "stop safely now". The vehicle promptly shut off while I was moving, trucks are whizzing by at 50, cars going even faster and I'm stopped in the fast lane. I push the car out of traffic into a driveway, keeping in that I'm 58 years old, I've had a heart attack and 3 back surgeries, and call Enterprise roadside service.
The temperature in Phoenix on Wednesday 7/25 was 118 degrees and I had half of a 1 liter bottle of water. Enterprise roadside advised me it would take 75 minutes for a tow truck to arrive and 3 to 5 hours bring another car, there was no location that could pick me up at that time of day, that was 4:13 pm. By the way the provider for enterprise roadside service is AAA of Arizona. At 5:37 I locked the car up, called my stepson and asked him to pick up his mom, took everything that was mine out of the car, grabbed my cane and started walking home. To say I was mad doesn't even come close to describing how I felt. It took me just over 3 hours to limp 12 miles home through some of the worst neighborhoods in Phoenix. While still hoofing it home I called Enterprise roadside at 7:00 pm and told them to bring me a car, again I was told 3 to 5 hours. I told them I was okay with that I would be at home waiting.
At 10:00 pm Enterprise roadside called me and told me the broken car had been picked up by AAA and taken to the airport and they were picking up a car to bring to me. When I hung up the phone it immediately rang, I picked up and it was the AAA tow truck driver telling me he was at the airport and where was I so he could tow me home. I told the driver he was there to pick up a car from Enterprise and bring it to me, the driver was confused and said he had to talk to dispatch and hung up on me. I called Enterprise at the airport and they had no idea what was going on and had not been contacted by anyone about this situation. I then called Enterprise roadside again and told them that 3 hours had passed and I expected a car delivered to me in the next 2 hours, they had no record of me ever talking to them. I stayed up til 1:20 am, no car.
I went to bed and got up at my usual 5:00 am, at 6:00am AAA called with an automated message telling me they would be to my broken down vehicle 25 to 30 minutes. I hung up and 2 minutes later the phone rang, AAA was advising me they would be to my broken down car in 30 to 45 minutes. I called Enterprise roadside again. They said that they would call the local rental office to get me picked up. They called me back when the office opened and told me they couldn't pick me up. There were not enough people in the office. At this point my wife called an Uber that arrived at my house in 3 minutes, I had to scramble to get out the door.
When I got to the local Enterprise office there were 5 people there not counting the guys out back washing cars! After a 30 heated argument about a replacement with Brazil ** who was more concerned about the car I broke down in 16 hours previously corporate managed to convince her to give me a car. So after 16 hours and almost 60 phone calls I finally got a car, got my wife to work 3 hours late which lost her her overtime for the day. I'm now driving an under powered Toyota Corolla that gets really bad gas mileage and has a cracked windshield but at least I haven't had to walk home again. Thank you to Enterprise Roadside assistance and AAA of Arizona you were less than useless!!!

On August 8, 2018 my son's jeep broke down again. He called AAA for towing service, I was apprehensive because the last time we needed towing, a few weeks ago it took many hours. To my surprise we were serviced in less than an hour. It was almost 100 degrees out and Frank the man providing the service had to go through a construction zone to reach us. Am hopeful that this kind of great service will continue.

I am a AAA Plus member, I have been a AAA member since 1989. My family members are on my account. My son requested towing service tonight at approximately 7:30 PM. He finally received towing service at 11:05 PM. I do not understand why it took over 3 and one half hours for his car to be towed. He was not in a rural area. He was within the Reno city limits. It was not a particularly busy time of day during rush hour. It was 7:30 on a Saturday night. Less than 6 months ago my husband needed towing service, it took over 3 hours for him to receive service. Why is service so poor?? Towing is your main function!!!

I walk into an office in Novi, MI and purchased a membership with cash. I believe the guy's name was Scott and there was a lady there named Marylynn who helped Scott process my membership. I signed up for the plus with annual renewal which totalled out to $77 for which I paid cash. I got a receipt which is attached and I left that was on a Thursday. I tried to have my car towed on Friday AFTER the office was close and they told me I had to only tow it 5 miles because I had the basic membership and had to wait until Sunday to tow it further because people cancel their memberships too often after a tow so the policy makes them wait 3 days. No one in the office told me that at all.
So on Friday I had no way to get a refund until Monday, Monday I would have been cleared, they left me stranded at a gas station because I knew nowhere closer to have it towed and never offered anywhere closer for me to tow it and instead gave me a refund when I originally wanted the service. I have nobody here to help me and AAA made me extremely aware of that. Never will I ever get, refer, or promote their service as long as I live. What if I was a grandmother. I am a mother who can't get to her kid now because I wasn't able to get to my kid because my car couldn't be towed to the shop for repair. Thank AAA. You made it all happen.

They kept insisting that it's the right battery and the right amount of cca. They said they would replace it but I would have to pay for it! They did not replace it because I refused to pay. They did not resolve my issue. I bought the right battery on my car from Costco and my car is fine now. AAA said since I took my battery out it voids the warranty! My car was vandalized last night. The window was broken out. This is fairly simple but you cannot go and park in public with a broken window or everything inside the car will not be there when you come back. Perhaps even the car won’t be there. I reported the claim last night and was told that the system was down but someone would call me at 9 o’clock this morning it’s 10:44 and no one has called. I started trying to call AAA at 8 o’clock only to find out that they are closed On weekends. What? People don’t have wrecks on weekends? You don’t need help on the weekend? I need to know if my rental car coverage applied and there will be no answer till Monday.
So I had to cancel my workday losing $400. This is more than I saved in getting my policy with AAA. As soon as I’m done writing this review I will be getting different coverage with someone who is there on weekends. It’s unconscionable to me that AAA completely abandoned its patrons on weekends. The people you report your claim to cannot help you at all. They have no information and can’t get you any. Total thumbs down.

After 17 years with AAA in California, I recently moved to Arizona in April. Paid the membership fee 2 months in advance, and filled out the change of address, in turn, received the new member "Plus" card in June. Today July 13th I received a new bill from AAA in AZ indicating payment due twice the amount with notification that membership would lapse without immediate payment due on July 13th. I called the customer service # to inquire why the bill when I had already paid and had received a new card for the year. I was told that once I left CA, and though they are a "National" business, the membership was void, and that AZ would require a new membership fee. I asked if they could simply send my payment for the amount to the AZ office since I had paid 2 months in advance for the year, to which they replied that was impossible, and that a check might be sent to me in 7-10 days once a supervisor could be found on Monday.
When I asked if I could speak with a supervisor, and here is what I was told. Due to the fact that it was Friday and going on 2pm no one else was available to speak to. When I tried calling the AZ office, the line was never answered so the membership terminated. So if you or a loved one is traveling across the CA border anywhere and thinks that you are covered by AAA, this is the process that AAA uses. Remember that though they are a "National" business, their business stops at the CA state line. This level of customer service should be brought to the attention of CEO, Mr. Robert L. Darbelnet, unfortunately his email address is not available, corporate address=1000 AAA Dr. Heathrow, FL. 32746. It is interesting that they have 1 CEO for the "National" business, yet will not cover you if you cross state lines. AAA gets a FFF rating.

My car recently would not start after a 12-hour overnight shift. The first AAA truck to come carried batteries but the battery tested good. A second AAA truck came that could tow my car. The response time for both trucks was good. The problem was both men referred me to a AAA repair shop they could take my car to. I trusted that the shop would be a good one since it is associated with AAA. The tow truck driver dropped me at my house and then took the car to a place called Galaxy auto repair in San Antonio Texas. After getting a couple hours of sleep, I looked up this repair shop to look at reviews online. Horrible reviews (2 Star Repair Shop). It turns out the tow truck company that came to help me is in the same place as Galaxy auto repair. I called AAA back and told them I wanted my car taken somewhere else. I found a place close to my house that has good reviews.
AAA called the tow truck company back and was told by the tow truck company that my car would have to be towed the next morning because the place I wanted it taken had no key drop off for a Sunday afternoon. I had to wait until Monday morning to get my car towed to the shop near my house. The shop does have a key drop off so the car could have been taken Sunday afternoon even though the shop was closed. I wrongly assumed that since the AAA drivers suggested Galaxy that it would be a good shop. On my way to the new shop Monday morning someone from Galaxy called me and asked me why I wanted my car taken somewhere else. The man told me he could get the car fixed and towed to me so I wouldn't have to get a ride to come pick it up. I still went with the new shop. I always thought that AAA researched and passed on recommendations to their customers that were respectable places of business.

My wife & I have been a AAA member for over 30 years and I have often bragged to friends and family what a great service it is. Christmas presents in 2017 for my 3 adult children and spouses was AAA memberships along with my explanation that if you have a cell phone you or your wife never have to worry about being stranded in the middle of nowhere. About 1 month or so later during a snow storm my son slipped off the road in his car. It was at this point that AAA made me into a liar. He called them and they sent out a wrecker. We live in and area where snowstorms are not uncommon.
After about an hour my son received a callback from them in which they told him they had cancelled the wrecker because it was unable to get to him because the wrecker did not have 4 wheel drive. They advised him that he could call a wrecker on his own and they would reimburse him for his costs. Lucky for him, a guy in a beat up old Subaru station wagon happened by and pulled him out.
I have contacted AAA several times about what happened but have basically been told, too bad and we don't plan on changing our policies to avoid such a thing from happening again. My AAA membership ends in August 2018 and I will not be renewing. My 3 adult children will be encouraged by me to follow my lead and go to a competitor for Real Roadside Emergency Services. Having been a AAA Premier Plus member for over 35 yrs. without any problems we thought it was a no-brainer to sign up for their RV coverage when we bought our 27' travel trailer and after being told by the agent that all services provided for our vehicles would also apply to our RV (including the 200 mile tow) we added that coverage. A week ago as we were heading home on Hwy 395 about 5 miles from June Lake area our tow vehicle had a flat tire, no problem, we have AAA so we pulled over and got out to check just as a CHP pulled up behind us as did our sons who we travelled with. As they approached from behind the trailer they commented that we had bigger issues than our vehicle tire because it appeared that one of the trailer tires had blown a bearing seal as there was grease all over the rim. While dismayed we weren't worried because we have AAA RV coverage. The CHP officer called for a tow and was told it would be about an hour.
OK, we understood that where we were at would require some time so our sons went about changing the tire on our tow vehicle so we could follow the tow truck into the closest town for repair which would be Bishop and we began our wait in their trailer because it was very hot outside. About an hour later the CHP returned to let us know that there was no tow vehicle coming, they couldn't find one! During our wait our sons had determined that there was some significant damage so putting the tire back on wasn't going to be an option so now what? Here we are stranded on the side of a major freeway with no way to get our trailer off the road. Thank god for our sons who figured out how to tie up the axle and then followed us as we limped the 40+ miles to Bishop where we had found a great shop, A&L Tire Automotive, who would be able to get us in and fix our trailer.
Lo and behold once there it was determined that the damage was far more severe than originally thought and due to parts, etc. it would probably be a week before they could get to it. So, we again called AAA (we are now 229 miles from home) and after 10 minutes of explaining that we had a "bumper pull travel trailer" and not the "Class A or B or C" the customer service agent insisted on calling our RV she said she would get back to us with dispatch information. After 5 hours (and multiple calls to them) they finally called back to let us know they had found a "low-boy" to tow our trailer however they would charge us for anything over 100 miles (the nearest town big enough to be able to repair the vehicle in was well over 100 miles away). I couldn't believe what I was hearing because we were told by AAA that all "premium plus" benefits would carry over to our RV when we signed up for RV coverage and our premium plus includes a 200 mile tow.
Being 229 miles from home we figured we would be happy to pay for the additional 29 miles but that 129 mile tow would have cost us $1200.00! Needless to say we limped home, an 8+ hr. journey. My complaints with AAA are two-fold: 1. Every person I have spoken with that has AAA Premium Plus RV coverage was told the same thing we were; our Premium Plus benefits carry over to the RV which would include the 200 mile tow. Every person was shocked to hear it didn't.
2. Most importantly is this; we are paying for extra coverage for our RV's to AAA for service yet they don't have vendors with the appropriate equipment to tow any RV from a Class A, B or C to a 5th wheel or even a 27' bumper pull travel trailer. We were stuck on a major highway in the heat of the day with vehicles, trucks, etc. blowing by us at 65+ mph and if our sons hadn't been with us who knows how long we would have sat there. So, if AAA can’t even provide the equipment to tow an RV let alone honor what services they told us we are entitled to, what are we paying for?

There is no communication or confirmation with customer and charged 120% higher than it should be for two months. And when I called for overcharges reason, they are simply said it's because of company policies and renewal offer send to my mailbox which is not true as I do not receive any renewal offer. I explained that I was not received or aggregated for new charges. Both agent and supervisor were not provide any justification after couple of customer calls. I am new to AAA. My car broke down at work in the parking lot. It was 99 degrees with a 107 degree heat index. My kids were in the car because they came to pick me up from work. They are 18 and 13 yrs of age. I was given a 2 hr wait. I called 3 times and was told at first 45 min, then 15 min twice. Here it is going on 4 hrs, no tow truck, my boys are hot, thirsty and frustrated. Not once did they call to say what happened, not once did they care that I was in the god forsaken GEORGIA heat. Then I'm told 15 more minutes and when I asked where the driver was, he was 30 mins away. This is unsafe and even deadly. The lady told me I have a BASIC plan, therefore there is nothing she can do. Get this, I must still pay the 45.00 tow fee. AAA is an abusive and uncaring company. Do not, do not, do not use them if you can help it.

I've used the service seamlessly for five years and have always been extremely happy. However this last time they completely and entirely let me down when my car broke down on the way to work and I was stranded on the side of the road. Between the automated phone service (a real person used to answer) and finally getting an obviously NOT Colorado-based customer service rep. on the line who could NOT figure out my location despite me calling out every landmark and cross street within a 2 mile radius (the buggy AAA app I was directed to could not detect my phone's GPS either), all in all it took nearly 45 minutes to put in a service call for a tow, then an additional 2.5 hours for the tow to actually arrive. That is horrendous service!
I was told I could not cancel AAA mid-year when I called to complain, so I grudgingly waited until the renewal came up to more than happily get rid of that added worthless expense. Anyway, I was in need of roadside service yesterday and recalled I do pay for roadside for less than $2 bucks a month on my auto insurance, so I pulled out my insurance card and dialed the number. Voila!! I was able to place the service request in less than 5 minutes and was told someone would be there within 35 minutes and he got there in less than 10. Best service EVER. I am so relieved I don't have to pay for nor depend on AAA anymore.

Upon calling AAA to cancel my service, which had just renewed June 1, I was told that they did not give "mid-year refunds". What a rip-off this company has become. After suffering a blowout on a highway near Ocala Florida, we called AAA for assistance. We were driving a Ford E350 camper but made the mistake of calling it a RV to the service person. We said we either needed a tow or assistance with replacing the blowout with the spare. We called back again to make sure she knew that it was a normal passenger size tire.
After an hour with no response we called back to check on progress and we're told that she could not get any tow companies to come for our RV. She had described our vehicle as a motorhome requiring a much larger tow truck, when all we really needed was someone with a tire wrench. Finally after 4 hours a nice man in a pickup truck from one of the tow companies showed up and helped us install the spare tire. He told us that he expected to see a big motorhome with large commercial truck tires, and was told a wrong location as well. Ronnie from Antis Roadside Service was great, but AAA made a bad situation worse. I can no longer recommend them to anyone who needs roadside assistance.

Before I start telling you my last and final experience with AAA I would like to say that 98% of the time when something makes me angry I get over it two days later and say whatever. However this happened over a month ago and I am still pissed when I think about it and I will NEVER FORGET IT! Anyway let me begin! When I signed up for AAA 5-6 years ago I thought it was a great service and only had to use it a few times and part of the membership is “they will bring you a gallon of gas if you run out of gas” and I thought that was a great... (so I thought!) fast forward years later about one month ago... what started out as a great day for a ride before work??? Turned into a day I will never forget!
I ran out of gas on my motorcycle with no gas stations around so I thought “oh yeah I have AAA for these situations” so I call them just to find out “sorry you don’t have motorcycle coverage on your policy. We can’t bring you gas unless you sign up for the additional coverage for an extra $50 a month.” At this point I am ** **!!! I argued and argued and argued with the guy on the phone!!! Because what the hell else am I supposed to do. I am stranded and have no other choice. So you're telling me if I was in my car or truck or anything else you would bring me gas no questions asked but on a motorcycle “NOPE ** YOU HAVE FUN WALKING!!!” I was stuck on the side of the road for about two hours after TELLING OFF!! The AAA guy on the phone and eventually some Good Samaritan brought me some gas so I could make it to work over an hour late later that day. I canceled my AAA service???

We have been loyal AAA subscribers for 16 years. That’s $1600 and we have never used the service. That is $1600 to the bottom line. Pure profit. We have only requested assistance two times during the past 16 years. The operative word being “requested”. We never received promised services upon which legal tender was paid… Hmm. That’s interesting. It reminds me of a Seinfeld episode in which Jerry reserved a rental car and, when he arrived at the airport, the rental car company did not have a car of which to rent… In Jerry’s words, “It’s easy to take a reservation, anyone can take a reservation. The key is to HOLD the reservation.”
Two years ago, I called to get a flat tire changed. It was in a seedy part of town at an even seedier gas station. Two and a half hours later, AAA kept promising me service within 20 minutes. Light at the end of the tunnel. A tow truck finally pulls up, about an hour after dusk. Alas, it was not AAA. He noticed that I was in need of assistance. He said that he did not take AAA because it was a terrible company and did not pay well. Not enough to even cover expenses. Disorganized and disreputable, even. He would help me out for $50 cash. I look in my wallet… $40. It was the day after Thanksgiving and he was full of ** and pumpkin pie… lucky for me. I was on my way home. Very kind man and, if you are reading this, thank you.
Today, June 22, 2018. Our Honda Odyssey breaks down in our driveway. We need to have it towed to the dealership because it was inoperable. Two and a half hours later, only excuses and no results. It’s getting late, we’re tired, need to get the van to the service station because we need to get it fixed ASAP. Any luck? More excuses and lame attempts at “customer service”. I ask for a full refund for a year. They are dismissive and uncaring. We cancel the service and handle the problem ourselves. A local company arrives within 20 minutes. $65 later, we resolved the problem.
What if my wife had been in a bad part of town? What if she were on the side of the highway? What if my kids AND my wife had been in danger? AAA would have threatened their safety and security. This is atrocious, despicable and deplorable. AAA should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau. I believe they will find a treasure trove of corruption. AAA gladly took our money. I have RV plus coverage. Blown radiator, stuck in a little town after dropping my SxS off for recalls. AAA won't cover picking up my trailer because it doesn't have the RV in it... Wth? I got the coverage because they told me anything I pull behind my truck would be covered. Well, apparently that's not the case. Small clause says RV must be on the trailer, yet they will pick up a boat trailer or motorcycle trailer empty, per a supervisors words??? I spoke to about 8 different people, all had different reasons of why my trailer wasn't covered (We don't cover utility trailers, must have living quarters, must be a camper style, etc.). All the people are incompetent! Had my first ticket canceled and didn't know why. Waited 3 hours for nobody to show up. I called the driver, he said they canceled it. Called AAA, the lady canceled the whole ticket when I told her that I was going to leave my trailer and come back for it.
I guess she assumed I'd not want my truck and 2 passengers picked up. Had to start a new ticket when I called back. From 11:00 am-4:30 pm I was stranded. When the 2nd driver showed up, he didn't know he was picking up passengers. AAA did not tell him that. We had no room, but wasn't going to wait longer. So we rode in the driver's truck unsafe (sitting on top of each other) with no seat belts. Finally got home around 6:00 pm that night all because of a trailer and stupid, no knowledge, untrained AAA employees!!! How would they feel if that was them stuck.
I would hope they would not want to be treated the way I was. I think it's ridiculous to have half coverage on something I pull behind me (covered when RV is on, not covered if I drop it off to get serviced). That clause needs to change, especially if I can prove that I just dropped it off less than a block down the road. I've been with AAA for 7 years and have never needed to use a tow truck... Thank God for that because it's the worst service, communication, provider ever!

AAA service is ludicrous at best. If you live in a small town, you're going to have at least a 1 to 3 hour wait for assistance. I've had to use them occasionally for the last several years and I'm now looking around for a more reputable service. I had to call for help 5/29/18 for a flat tire. There was nowhere to pull off the road so I had to park right there in the lane. Cars had to go around my car. When I dialed the AAA I had to press too many numbers to get to a real person. If you don't input your 16 or 17 number membership number, you get bumped back. I'm not as fast as some and it took me three attempts to actually reach a real person.
After describing my exact location and situation (flat tire) I was asked to hold the line while she "tried" to find someone. Since this is a small town and the only "someone" is a very small auto/wrecker repair shop that has perhaps one employee. About 10 minutes of waiting for the woman to get back to me, I was told that I would have to wait over an hour for the local man to come to my aid, and to wait by the car while she called someone else to see if they could help. From a past experience, the someone else is a good hour and a half drive from my town.
I had my son call my town's AAA assistant and was told that it would be at least an hour and some minutes before he could come help me. Thank goodness, a young man stopped and came to my assistance. I'd been waiting in the heat for at least 45 minutes before he offered to change my tire. I let him, got his name, and am very grateful for his help. As for AAA, I will not be renewing my account when it comes due again. Horrible service.

They never came back and then sent us a letter stating that they were not responsible for the damage!!! All this without looking at the car. They also refused to pay the ticket that was incurred for the car being on the street while waiting for Triple AAA. Needless to say after many years we are no longer customers.

I've been an AAA member since 1973 and this is the first time I have been disappointed with their road service. My policy is for cars and trailers which I added at an extra cost because I did not want to be stranded on the road if I had a flat on the trailer. I requested service to change a flat tire on the trailer I was towing. After giving them the information about my 5th Wheel RV I was told that none of their service agents had the equipment to change the tire. This is on a simple two axle trailer that can be lifted with a 3 ton jack. Instead I was offered a tow at a cost of several hundred dollars out of my pocket.
Now you would think that it would be easier to change a tire than to tow a pick up truck and trailer to the shop. After waiting for over one hour and being refused service the CHP escorted me out of the freeway where I parked on a side street. There I called Les Schwab for help and they sent a service truck to change my tire. It took the serviceman 15 minutes to change my tire and I was on my way. I had to pay for this service and now I hope that AAA reimburses me for this cost. I am in the process of checking other road service companies and then I will cancel my AAA account.

I am a first time AAA policyholder. I was in dire need of Roadside assistance and decided to google some questions about AAA roadside assistance. After several searches, I decided to buy a membership only to find out that Google was misleading about waiving the waiting period. The web search was only for an AAA membership in CA. I contacted the AAA of the Carolinas and was told I had to wait 10 days for the policy to be in effect for Roadside assistance on the Premier policy which is the most expensive policy. It doesn't make any sense to me that the most expensive policy would have the longest waiting period. I am baffled that AAA acts differently state by state with membership terms and conditions. If I was in CA I could have the waiting period waived and or pay a $16.00 fee. The customer service representatives with AAA of the Carolinas would not make any waivers on my behalf.

They said they are not renewing with us because we had 12 service calls, some with towing within a year. If you are paying for a service and you have 5 people listed, then why does it matter. No one wants their car to break down but it happens.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona, which has life threatening heat in the summer. One of the worst months for heat is August. Last year, in August, my daughter was driving back home with my ex-wife. when her car broke down. My daughter called AAA for assistance as they were in a location that was not close to any businesses, and it was extremely hot that day. AAA told my daughter they would be there within 20 minutes. After twenty minutes had passed, she called again, and they said they would be there soon. This went on for two hours!! The AAA serviceman finally showed up, unapologetic. They told my daughter 4 different times they would be there shortly, and my daughter and ex were stuck in triple degree heat for two hours!! They towed the car, and the problem was fixed, but I could not believe AAA let my daughter cook in the hot mid-day sun without explanation or apology.
I called and filed a complaint, 3 different times. I was assured each time I would be contacted and someone would speak to me about and resolve. I never received a phone call back. It disgusts me now that evidently AAA is putting a lot of money into attracting new customers with all the advertisments they put on TV now. Don't they realize it costs a lot more to bring in new customers than to attempt to keep existing customers? Maybe they had no good explanation, and so didn't bother calling back. Maybe they think they are the only game in town regarding road service, and so figure they don't need to kowtow to someone like me. I'm not sure why they wouldn't take the time to call back, but I didn't renew. I'm a little worried about a breakdown, and would like to renew service, but can't bring myself to do it with such an arrogant organization.

After waiting in vehicle for an hour waiting for AAA tow truck to come from an hour away, tow service calls and is still an hour away. Cancelled the call and got local service to tow vehicle 5 miles. The amount I pay for membership would have paid for the local tow truck and then some! Called AAA to cancel membership since it is useless in this area, but they won't cancel membership "midterm." Ridiculous! AAA ought to pay local tow services a decent rate instead of making customers be so inconvenienced waiting for service.

I have been a member of AAA since 1986. All my family members have AAA membership. I have never submitted a claim for anything. There have been years when we never even needed their service for anything. My car was recently involved in an accident. It needed to get towed and the cops refused to allow me to use AAA for the tow service. I, therefore, had to use the tow service that the cops called at the site. I was charged $175 for the tow. I called AAA and asked if they would reimburse for the tow. They said they do reimburse and to send in the original receipt and brief explanation of what happened.
I complied with their request only to receive a letter from AAA stating that they, "...determined that these expenses are ineligible for reimbursement based on the membership agreement." It seems that I had reached my roadside assistance call limit for the year. That is ridiculous! I had 4 service calls. There are 4 members on my account. This is outrageous! There were years where not one single service call was made. Did I get credit for that? No, I did not! I used to be a big fan of AAA but not anymore. They should be ashamed of themselves for treating a customer of over 30 years in this manner. In 30 years I never had one claim and there were more years where the service was not used at all than years that the service was actually needed.

I've been a member of AAA for over fifty years. A recent service call has shaken my confidence in the company and is making me re-assess my decision to continue my AAA membership. On April 19, 2018, my wife was at an appointment in Las Vegas. When she returned to her car the battery was dead. She called AAA and was told that a service vehicle would be there within 45 minutes. This was at 3:59 p.m.
An hour later, with no service vehicle, and no response from AAA, she called again. This time she was told that their computer had crashed and that they had NO record of her call. This time, she was advised that the wait for service would now be TWO hours! Two hours to get a roadside service call in the City of Las Vegas? Fortunately a passing motorist gave her a jump start and she was able to drive the car home. We requested a followup as to why AAA has no backup in the event of a computer glitch. But we have heard nothing from AAA - no follow-up at all. AAA's lack of response and their handling of this situation were both totally unacceptable.

A year ago I called and signed up for what I thought was one year. There were two prices according to the agent on the phone. One for 47 plus and one for 70 plus (I may be a little off). One was better than the other. Fast forward to a month ago and I got a letter that I glanced at that mentioned a couple different prices for renewal 70 and 120. Ok well I was not convinced on rejoining and put it aside. On May 1st my card was charged $120.00. I called and was a little upset but asked why. I was told basically that because I did not respond to the letter I was charged?? I have never heard of such a thing.
I worked for a similar company and we did auto renewal only if the member confirmed it and was read a disclosure. I did not do this a year ago. Regardless the numbers don't add up-why 120 they went for the highest amount. What if I had changed my address and the mail did not get to me until after they charged me??? Also now they have put me in a situation with my family and paying for other bills... I understand how long it takes for banks to refund but they put me in this situation, that is not fair. I want my money now-they caused it not me and that is what they do not get... Not many companies do--FedEx me a check.

This has to be the most inept company in America. If you're considering paying this company for their third world country service then you have more money than common sense. Read the reviews! I will also add this review because I've been dealing with this company for a few years. This morning I had to call then for tow service for my vehicle at my home to be taken to my auto mechanic in my hometown. Simple request, right? Not for AAA who's employees seem to be brain dead robots with lack of training.
I called their roadside assistance number at (800) 222-4357. You have to make a number of numeric choices to even reach the place where you put in your member number. This process has a time limit and if you're not inputting the 16 digit member number at lightning speed, you will be sent back to the very first of a series of numeric options that have to be inputted from your keyboard. It took me three tries to finally reach a supposedly "real" person.
This real person took down my location and where to tow my vehicle, then I advised her that I specifically required the tow service listed first on the closest AAA certified tow service in my area, which I gave her by name. She said for me to stay on the line while she called them to see when they could pick up my car. The call was disconnected, so I called AAA back and had to go through this process again.
This time the real person said that the wrecker service I advised them was not on their list but that they'd call someone else. I told this person that the first lady did get through to the specified wrecker service and that they indeed must be on their list because I'd called them before calling AAA again and was told that AAA had called them and that AAA had told them that if they couldn't get to it on the spot that they'd call the next service provider on the list. When I called back after the line was disconnected the first time, the person I spoke to said they'd call someone else because they couldn't find the wrecker service I preferred on their list. I told him that this sounds odd because AAA had already called them and that I was supposed to call AAA to confirm.
Third call I made to AAA I found out that the service call had been canceled for some reason. I was totally flustered at this point and hung up. When I called AAA for the 4th time today, I went through the whole LONG process that takes forever on the phone only to be told that this wrecker service closes at 5 p.m.EST and that they'd have to come tow my car tomorrow. Which isn't a problem EXCEPT the AAA robot person said that I would have to call AAA in the morning and make a new request to have my car towed.
I cannot believe the ineptness of this company. It took me a full day of calling the company only to be told that I have to call back tomorrow and put in a new request for service. If there is another similar service company other than AAA, I'd suggest you find it and use it instead of AAA. AAA can leave you stranded on the side of the road indefinitely due to a on their negligence on their part to fulfill a simple request. This is a horrible company!

Triple AAA then offered to tow to a place that was AAA approved as I would receive a discount, I asked them if they do transmission and they said yes. I was thinking, "Wow this is great, I didn't have to waste all my time calling around."
However, after getting my car towed there, the person said they didn't do transmission. I told them that AAA said they did, he then said "OK bring me a transmission and I will fix it"... How the hell am I supposed to bring him a transmission?? I don't know much about cars at all in general. I then went to pick up my car to transfer it to another place... He wanted to charge me 1300$ for "other problems" he found... I said, "No I want to take my car and get the transmission fixed"... He then charged me 100$ for a storage fee just so I could take my car somewhere else.
The other place said that I needed an oil change, tune, transmission fluid, and a new tire. They charge me 450$ and I was done. Car works like new now. I had to waste two tows and spend 100$ for a triple AAA mistake. If it had not been for friends of ours at the lake that day that helped us with the car we would probably still be there. Last night, 4/11/18 our Ford Mustang shut down because a wire was loose in our dashboard and Ford's safety feature kicked in and the car was dead. This happened at 5 pm and at 7 pm a young man of 18 with a large flatbed truck turned up when ordered by Triple A.
When this teen from a towing company called SUPERIOR came he tried to start the car. The transmission stick could not go into DRIVE so he promptly told us that he couldn't help us that his "truck" wasn't the right kind and that if he tried to pull our Mustang on his truck it would ruin the axis & the tires would come off. In short this kid was lazy but we tried to reason with him but he still said no and to recall Triple A that they had not told him that the stick would not go into drive that he wouldn't have come to help us. Then the dispatcher told me that "the kid has had a hard day!?" What about my day and night that you're ruining you **? No answer. Then I told him to "** the ** I don't have" and hung up in a rage. I called back AAA and they were willing to send another truck but it would be in 2 hours. That was at 7 pm I said no & told him I was paying for a pickup and wanted a reimbursement. I tried bumping this up the ladder with AAA but no one knew who AAA's claims agent reported to. I contacted the 3rd party. I'm also waiting to hear from AAA who is to investigate this service center seeing, how this service center was recommended by AAA as one of their service centers.
Now that I've been contacted by the AAA they've placed me with someone who knows this service center owner and it has caused a conflict of interest. Especially the ABS braking system without any concern of personal health or welfare. No documentation has been presented to me in regards to any of their services. No cost factors or any statements in regards to repair if any were to be done. Only if the information was talked about is that the part was used and it would take days to receive it. I was truly disappointed in my experience with Roadside Assistance for AAA Carolinas. During a trip, we had a flat tire - I thought that getting AAA for roadside assistance would be simple, considering that I have been a member for a couple of years now and have not yet needed to use the assistance service. We ended up waiting at a remote gas station for a tow truck for several hours, without receiving any updates about our service request from either AAA or the towing company. When the tow truck finally arrived, the driver informed us that the only tire servicing company was outside of the towing range, and that we would have to pay forty dollars extra for the tow. To add to that, the towing company was cash only - since this was an emergency situation, of course I didn’t have the cash in hand, and without my car, did not have any ability to go to an ATM.
Throughout this experience, the service I got from AAA was completely unsatisfactory- I am confident that I could have resolved the situation much quicker and more easily if I had coordinated the tow on my own. I will be certainly cancelling my membership, as I felt that I received no value for having the subscription during my time of need. This experience ruined travel plans that were in place for my weekend, and I couldn’t be more unhappy with the fact that I have paid good money for a membership for multiple years which is practically useless.

I carefully explained to the moron that: 1. "I have been a member for years at no time was I told that you needed the higher membership for a motorcycle." 2. "Your service covers motor vehicles. A motorcycle is a motor vehicle and nowhere on renewal does it state that you need 4 wheels to be a motor vehicle." Which makes you wonder how they classify a 3 wheeled or 6 wheeled vehicle.
Since they had me over a barrel with my arms tied and pants down, I had to agree to the upgrade. I was then told that I would have to wait 48 hours. I told them you expect me to sleep by the side of the road, no food, no water, while you wait 48 hours at your home and office. They said "Yes sir. You have to wait." I was a AAA membership since 1993 until today. I renewed 5 days ago. Four days ago a medical emergency occurred and medications needed to be purchased. I contacted AAA to request a refund and explained why. I also stated that I planned to renew next month when my funds weren't stretched as thin. I was told by AAA rep "Tom" that a new policy was put in place just prior to my renewal. The new policy is NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON. I stated I was not informed of this new policy prior to renewing.
His response was, "Well, it's a new policy". I was then transferred to "Deanna" who also stated the NO REFUND FOR ANY REASON policy is new and she was "sorry" I wasn't informed but that's how it is. I voiced that it is a blatantly shady business practice coming from a company I had trusted for the past 25 years. I told her I have lost confidence with AAA and will pursue a refund. She then said it would take 2 weeks to receive a refund and it wouldn't help me with the immediate medical emergency. Yet, it took only moments for AAA to accept my payment by phone and deduct it from my bank account. Beware. AAA has a NO REFUND FOR ANY REASON policy that is not being disclosed to consumers.

I have been a AAA member and paid for Premier membership since 2013. My only car is a Tesla. Today I had a flat tire on the freeway and asked to be towed to the nearest open tire store. After four phone calls I was told that they can’t tow a Tesla on a Sunday because there are no tow trucks available that are “insured” for Tesla. The lady said I should try to find a commercial tow truck company and I would need to pay for the tow. When I asked what I was paying AAA for, she had no answer other than she was sorry.

I joined AAA 06/17. Since then, I've attempted to use their roadside services three times. Once right after I joined for a flat tire because the winch the spare was on under the van was broken and I physically couldn't remove it. It the middle of St Louis, it took me an hour and a half to fight it off by myself after calling them and nobody ever showed up so I canceled it. I was told at the time it'd be another thirty minutes at least. The second time, I blew a tire in a small town in the middle of the night, two hours from home. Called for help, told it'd be about thirty minutes. Ok. An hour later, nothing, so I call back and they say, "Oh, that company canceled, we'll try and find you a new one." Twenty minutes later, I get a callback saying it'll be at least two hours. So I had a friend come get me, canceled the order, and came back in the morning to deal with it.
Now, I'm sitting on the side of the tri-state outside Chicago, with a blown transmission. I sent mom on ahead in the vehicle I was driving because we were bringing her dog home from surgery and we couldn't leave him sitting in a broke down truck on the side of the highway with a head wound from surgery, stuck in a cone. Well, because I forgot to grab my bag out of the other car before she left, I'm told I'm on my own because I only have copies of my card and license, not the real thing.
I'm so sick of this company, the money I gave them for this membership was worthless, because nobody I work with does discounts through them, they can never provide the promised roadside assistance unless I want to camp out for half a day or more it seems, and now I'm stuck waiting on a towering company I'll have to pay when I should have been able to use the ones I get with my membership. They're thieves masquerading as the old, worthwhile AAA that no longer exists. I will never renew this membership, I will be canceling it immediately, these people are crooks. Plain and simple.

This moron confessed in front of the cop that he hit our car from back, but later on told AAA that we backed into him.
AAA, the crooked company it is, decided that somehow we backed up into their car, instead of rear-end collision, as this saves them money. AAA adjuster provided no justification as to why they are denying our claim, but said we believe our client is right. Also refused to accept my daughter as a witness. What a pathetic piece of crap and lying company this is. We are now left to pay for car our self because of liar who hit our car, and a cheater company. Recently I purchased a Chevrolet Bolt, a battery power only vehicle. I asked what the AAA position would be and what kind of service I would get if I ran out of fuel (battery power) on the highway. The answer is that they offer nothing and apparently have no published policy. I say apparently because the agent didn't know the answer and claimed to have asked a supervisor. If that was the case it establishes that there was no written policy since the agent didn't know about it. Or, the supervisor made up the answer which means that the policy would depend on which supervisor was asked. Clearly, that is not a policy either. So if you have an EV look for another road service company whose policy is current with transportation trends.

My husband's battery died late at night in 17 degree weather, outside of a closed store. He called AAA, they told him 45 min to one hour, but we were hoping sooner due to the well below freezing temps and nowhere to go to stay warm. 20-30 minutes later, the tech called and said they were very busy and it would be another hour at least until someone could get to him. He had to walk to a Walmart, buy a battery and put it in himself. I repeat...it was 17 degrees outside.
AAA has done more harm than good. Why in the world would you not be set up to handle busy times with an adequate amount of contacts to service your customers, esp in a busy metropolitan area?? We don't live in a cornfield, and heaven help you if you do. You are better off just paying out of pocket to get decent service. AAA is supposed to be the best at this but they are not. He was told to continue with jumping the car and he did so and the car started. He took off in a rush and within one minute oil was pouring out onto the garage floor. After a Ford certified mechanic inspected the car it was found that the oil filter was loose. The mechanic felt this was very suspicious and unusual. She acted as though I could not call and request the two when the membership is in my name. She spend about fifteen minutes questioning why my son could not call. Next, she ask for an address. After giving her an address, she stated, I was only allowed a tow up to 10 miles. I told her, "I am a plus member and can have a tow up to 200 miles." In a very nasty tone, she stated, "It didn't matter." I could only get a tow up to 10 miles. I told her, "As a plus member, I was told that tow are up to 200 miles." She said, "In summer weather." Well, there is no information on any pamphlet that had on in summer weather. This is misleading to get members to upgrade. They offer services but when the service is needed, the member is out of luck.
Linda asked for an address within 10 miles. I told her, "We are out of state. We do not know an address within 10 miles." I asked her for an address. She stated, she could not give me an address. Meanwhile we are on the freeway. I asked for a supervisor. Linda stated, no supervisor was available. She put me on hold with music. We were just in a car accident in another state.
Linda came back on the phone after 3 minutes and ask for an address again, I told her to tow it to an approved Triple A facility within the 10 miles. Linda said, she could not. "How am I supposed to get the car towed then." Linda said, she was sorry. There was nothing she could do. I asked if, I paid would I get reimbursed. Linda stated, no but she was sorry again. I asked, why do they advertise these services if they do not offer them. She wanted to argue. This was unreal. We are in a car accident and need assistance for a company that suppose to offer services at a paid price.
I asked for a supervisor again. I was put on a sixteen minute hold before hanging up. I called back and was put on hold an additional 12 minutes hold before hanging up again. I called back again. He paid for the year, He had his identity stolen with the Equifax problem and his debit card was compromised and he got a new card with a new number and never changed the member payment information. The other day he checked his checking account and there was a charge from AAA and it was a month earlier than when the membership was to begin.
We found out that AAA has a right to get your credit card information from VISA and withdraw, charge or do as they please because they signed a contract with them. My son again had to close his Debit card because this was an unauthorized because he added towing on his car insurance and it was less then what AAA charges.
He called and asked them, "How did you get my new card number?" They said they have the right to do so. He asked, "Why did you charge me a month ahead of time," They said they have the right to do so. According to Federal Law they can not charge you without notifying you. They claimed they did but we did not get email on that nor did we get USPS Mail on this.
When my son put me on the phone the call center woman said, "I know the law." I asked her if she is an attorney and she said yes. That was when I asked her for her Attorney ID number and for which state to verify that she wasnt lying to me and she hung up. We finally got them to agree to return the money but forgot to tell my son it will take 2-5 weeks before he receives the money. That was not acceptable. Again.I was placed on the phone. The rep said she can escalate the payment back to 2-3 days. Quite a difference, Meanwhile because of this my sons bank account went into the negative because of the overpriced membership of close to $200. His insurance company is only charging him $50.00 more for towing per year and they tow it to where you want it towed. Do not give AAA any cards, do not use them. I hope my experience with AAA will help others to be most careful when you sign up for online services. When I purchased my car insurance with AAA, the definition that I understood for “excluded driver” is that my children, who at the time were living with me, were not allow to drive my car. Around a year after, my daughter moved out to her own place and insured her cars also with AAA. At the moment she purchased her insurance the agent never informed her that she was an excluded driver in her mom's car insurance and because she was obtaining her insurance with AAA, she can be removed from the excluded list and added to my car insurance for free as part of the AAA insurance member benefits.
On the other hand, because I wanted to be sure that my car insurance payment was on time, I signed up for the online paperless services. For three years my car insurance was renew automatically and nobody informed me via email or letter that my daughter can be added to my car insurance policy for free. Last November 21, 2017 my daughter got involve in an car accident while she was driving my car to pick up her son from the park. A third car cause the accident and the second car hit my car. While my daughter was calling the police, she had to keep calming my two years granddaughter that was scare and crying due to the door window glass explosion.
The police didn't show up because they were not people injured. They just instructed her to exchange info with the other two drivers. As a result, the driver who caused the accident didn't have car insurance and run away. The insurance from the second car didn't want to fix my car because was not his client's fault, and my car insurance, AAA, didn't covered because my daughter was an excluded driver. I paid full cover insurance for nothing. When I asked AAA why never was inform that I had to remove my daughter from the excluded driver list, as soon she got her insurance with them, they blamed me. That was my responsibility to do it. They instructed me to fill out a form that is available only in the AAA branch.
When I went to their office I find out that she can be added to my policy because she has the same insurance company than me. Honestly, I am too disappointed because I trusted a company that only cares about profit and has no respect for human life. Now I am driving a damaged car because I do not have money to fix it. I do not have savings because my salary only cover basic living expenses. If somebody likes to find out more info and pictures about this complaint, please do not hesitate to contact me. The vehicle and trailer ended up in the median & my SUV was jack knifed and sticking out blocking 1/2 the passing lane at 9:30 pm. I immediately called 911, while my wife called AAA. The first thing we both explained was that we were unable to move the vehicle and we were blocking 1/2 of the passing lane on a busy interstate. The trooper got there quickly, blocked off the passing lane and called a tow truck, while in the meantime, the AAA rep. kept my wife on the phone at length asking multiple questions instead of dispatching a tow truck immediately and then calling her back for further information. My wife repeatedly told the rep that we were blocking the passing lane.
In addition to that, we had to pay an additional $14.35 to cover having the trailer towed. The AAA rep. was still on the phone with my wife (asking her life story) when the tow truck arrived that the state trooper had called. The trooper understandably insisted that we use this towing service because we were in a dangerous situation. AAA never did dispatch a tow truck and couldn't guarantee that they would cover another towing company. They would send out a form that would have to be filled out and mailed back in requesting reimbursement - again with no guarantee of reimbursement. Luckily, Progressive covered the entire towing bill, so I threw that form away.
Today, I called to have them remove the extra $14.35 for the service they never provided and they flat out REFUSED! I talked to 2 different people and got "we don't give refunds for AAA". I couldn't believe it! I immediately cancelled my membership. I want nothing to do with a company who has zero integrity or customer service!! They deserve less than a 1 star rating!!!

Been a member of AAA for 30 years and I rarely use them. My son’s car broke down at 6 pm due to an alternator. Estimated time of arrival was initially 40 minutes. Flatbed came at 9:10 pm. Why? Because AAA is losing all their contractors and doesn’t have the fleet. Get your act together because this is a joke of an organization. No 17 year old should be stranded for 3 hours because a company (who we pay annual PLUS services for) can’t operate effectively and have enough tow trucks in place. No wonder why you have a 1.2 rating.

AAA recommended garage in Nashville after car stalled several times; would be running, then engine would cut off. After waiting several minutes, car would start back up and go a few more miles, then engine would cut off again. Afraid to drive car any distance as traffic was heavy. Called for tow and asked for recommendation both for wrecker and garage. Not only did they send a poorly trained wrecker driver who requested payment from "Premier" customer who should not be paying anything, but the garage kept the car for more than a week, claiming he needed parts from the Volvo dealership and could not get them. We rented a car from Enterprise for one week, picked up the car seven days later, after paying $1,379 only to drive it a short distance when the engine cut off again.
The car had not been properly repaired. The car was returned to the same mechanic and he admitted he did not know how to work on a Volvo and we should take it to the Volvo dealer on I-65. How safe was that? Drive this car on I-65 with it cutting off every few miles, requiring the driver, my granddaughter, to pull to safety and restart the car to only drive a few more miles. I have tried numerous times to talk to AAA Member Resolution Office (HA - there is none) and cannot even get the courtesy of a return call to talk with me. I have called almost daily since the second week of January. I was told Hosea had the responsibility to call me but he is never at work. They supposedly take a message for him to call me but I never get a callback. I have now called for the name of the "head" of AAA to no avail. Can you help me find a name and telephone number of the person with whom I should discuss my complaint.
No. 1 AAA should never have recommended this garage mechanic to us, No. 2 Not only did I have to pay a ridiculously high "repair" bill which did not happen, but No. 3 we had to rent a car for two weeks while this mechanic played around with the car. After we got it to the Volvo dealer, the master mechanic said the repair made had nothing to do with the engine cutting off and he had no idea why it was replaced. No. 4 Someone should be seriously disciplined for not returning customer calls after a serious complaint such as this has been reported. No. 5 Why are names/numbers not available for management staff? Can anyone help me???

As a premium customer with four, 100 mile tows. Each service call counts as a tow even if it is as simple as putting air in your tire to make it to a tire shop. There goes one of my 100 mile tows. Was promised the longer I have insurance with them, the lower my auto insurance would be each year. After couple of years, patiently waiting, no savings. Now several years later, still no tickets, no accidents, it's higher than last year, and the year before that. Now AAA wants to charge me a early termination fee when I didn't renew and because I got insurance somewhere else that was way cheaper with the same premiums with uninsured motorist. AAA, you were there to help me with a tow but your insurance is not worth getting.

This now is well over two hours and approaching 3 hours. I was told my call was taken and I would be assisted in order of my call... the best I could expect. As is the case with so many others, I have had nightmare experiences with AAA. On January 10th, Franklin County Ohio, at 4:45 pm my transmission went out. I was told it would be no longer than 2 hours! It was 62 degrees with no rain, snow or other inclement weather! Two hours ultimately turned into over FIVE HOURS! Remember the weather was ideal this day. I called three more times and was told various stories. At 4 hours I was told the truck that had been assigned to me was pulled by someone in the call center! This person kept me on the line and ultimately made sure a truck was dispatched. One of these "experts" actually told me that responses were not affected by such things as snow!!! The problem with AAA is that they are maximizing their profits by minimizing the number of trucks they pay to provide the service.
Franklin County has hundreds of tow trucks, as I'm sure other municipalities have also, that could be available if AAA would pay them to respond to people who have paid good money for what is unfortunately terrible service and clearly a dereliction of their duty to provide safe and timely responses. Isn't it time that this organization be investigated for the business practices they are employing. People's lives depend on this service. That is what we pay for. They're ok for trip tics, but I know from experience, the reliability of their field response is questionable at best. They say calls have priorities. But this does not address the lack of available tow trucks they pay to respond. I had to call for help two days later after repairs failed and I waited, in good weather, for over two hours and finally paid to have another service tow my vehicle. They responded in just under 30 minutes!

I have been a AAA Arizona member for 21 years. I've had as many as 7 cars on AAA plans, right now I just pay for 4 plus an RV. The other day I had a blowout on my wife’s car. I called AAA and was told I had reached my 4 calls per year limit. I have never heard of this, but, did find it mentioned later in their info. I asked if they could make an exception, to which the answer was a sharp NO. Evidently, their policy is 4 calls per individual not per vehicle. I'm a husband and father of two girls. So, when my wife and daughters have issues, most of the time I go and give them my car and I call AAA. When I told the "service" rep and manager this, they didn't care. I was set to renew in Feb. but will not! Ending a 21 year relationship!

I was able to eventually pull over to the side of the road through two lanes of traffic and stop by the side of the road. A call to AAA assistance was the beginning of great help, information and comfort! I am sorry I don't have the lady's name to mention her specifically.
It was only a short time before Alex arrived and assured us this would be a fast transition. He was kind, and considerate, smiling and happy. Alex was correct, the tire was changed quickly, The spare, which he made sure had enough pressure without having to stop at a filling station, was put in place and I was wondering how I was going to get back into a lane, when I heard his offer to stop a lane of traffic with his truck so I could easily and safely slip into traffic. I selected AAA's "Premier" roadside service because I wanted my motorcycle to included in the roadside assistance plan. So the one time I use it, they sent a tow truck with a flatbed intended for use with cars. My motorcycle wouldn't start and the driver said he wanted me to push it up his ramp and hold it there while he straightened out the bed with me on it! "WHAT?" I said "Are you kidding me?" "No, no problem," he said he would help me and make sure both me and my bike would be stable before he let go to straighten the bed.
Despite my better judgment (I really wish I had just told this fool to go home) I decided to give it a shot. WELL, we push my 500+ pound bike up his inclined, wet ramp, and just before I get a chance to grab the brake lever, he let go and both me and my bike go tumbling down. And both me and my bike are at this point injured. "WTF!" I yelled. He just looked at me dejectedly and said NOTHING. I told him "That was REALLY dumb." Again, no response. Called AAA around 9:30 because my keys had gotten locked in my car while I was delivering pizzas. They said they would dispatch someone soon and would let me know when someone’s on the way. (Keep in mind I live in Ohio and it’s the dead of winter and I wasn’t home.) I had someone come so I could sit in their car and wait so I wouldn’t freeze to death. 1 hour passes no call. 2 hours pass no call. 3 hours pass no call. We decide to call back. 4 hours pass no call. We’re still on hold. 5 hours pass no call. Still on hold. At this point we decide to call another tow truck company. 6 hours pass no call from AAA and we’re still on hold.
The tow truck company came. Got there at 3:45 in the morning around the 7 hour total waiting mark and charge me $175 to unlock my car for me which took them 2 mins to do. Fast forward to this morning at 12 I get a call from AAA saying that they are at the address I had submitted and can’t find me. The tow truck guy explained he had just gotten the call from AAA less than a hour ago so AAA neglected to even call the tow truck company for a total of 13 hours when the guy I talked to said he would do it right away. This is awful business. I am cancelling AAA. I have had it for 5 years and the one time I try to use it they pull this. Absolutely ridiculous. My husband and I have had our car stranded on the side of the road since 5:30 this morning. Our first call to AAA was at 5:45. The operator searched and called four different towing companies looking for someone to come help us. After waiting almost two hours, AAA called back to inform us they still hadn't found a towing company available due to weather. Understandable. We got family to come bring us home. Throughout the day we have called and checked status of tow trucks. It wasn't until a Twitter post that we finally made progress and AAA miraculously found an available truck. They told us the tow truck was dispatched and would meet us from 1:45-3:45.
Our car is over 30 minutes from our house so we decided to head over to the stranded car to wait. At 3:50 when no truck had arrived, after waiting another hour and a half we called AAA once again. This operator informed us that there wasn't even a dispatched truck yet and didn't know when it would happen. Now we are driving back home until we hear from a tow company we called ourselves since AAA is USELESS. I know weather conditions were bad (this morning) and trucks can't immediately be dispatched, but when you call and say a truck is dispatched with a 2 hour window, it needs to be a fact. We will be paying over $140 to a company to get our car after hours of being yanked around by AAA. A day wasted. I'm glad after 9 years and 4 members on the account with gold plus cards, our money is well spent when in need. It's been real AAA, but you won't have this family's business any longer.

I told her to find shelter so she doesn't freeze to death and to continue holding while I tried on my end. I called AAA from my office and was greeted with the same recording and put on hold. After twenty minutes or so - with no answer - I hung up.
My fiance called me again, telling me she had been on hold for almost an hour - what should she do? I told her to hang up and call State Farm. A live agent answered, asked her immediately if it was an emergency, and told her they would be on the scene in less than a half an hour. She was called back twice by State Farm and told that a truck had been dispatched, and was asked if everything was okay - did she need further assistance? I have had AAA roadside assistance for 7 years now. I have called them 3 times to utilize their services and the first 2 times I was told they cannot be of assistance. Fast forward to today, when I decided to overlook that and had what can only be described as the worst experience with a company ever. I noticed my car had a flat tire while out of state. I called once and reached the South Jersey office who transferred me to the MidAtlantic office, where I was promptly hung up on. I was only on hold for 7 minutes and someone else was on their way out to help put on my spare. Since it was 7 degrees outside the lug nuts could not be removed from my rim. So I called AAA again, where I was on hold for 45 minutes for MidAtlantic after being transferred there from South Jersey. I for one am in a complete and utter state of disdain at the series of events that have taken place in relation to a service call for a tow I placed on 01/06/2018. At approximately 4:32 pm I placed a call for a tow for a flat tire where my child Jamaal ** was a passenger with my brother Robert ** as the driver/owner of the vehicle. The car is a black 2010 Chrysler 300. I received an ETA of approx. 6:59p. I received a call from a Dale with Davenport at approx. 5:49 to let me know that he was 15 mins away. I provided my brother with this information and let him know not to leave so that they would be able to get the keys.
At approx. 6:01p I received a call from a Kenny (not knowing at the time that he was with the same wrecker service). He asked which tire was flat and the location of the vehicle. I stated to him that I had just received a phone call from someone who stated they were almost there. He told me that he was aware, and that they were with the same company but drove two different types of tow trucks (one a flatbed and the other the traditional one. He (Kenny) told me he was just verifying to see which truck would be better suited for the tow. And that the flatbed that Dave was driving should be fine. After this call at approx. 6:13 my brother called me to let me know they had arrived. He gave them the keys and was on his way. I told him I would let him know it made it to its destination safe.
Now here is where the story starts to turn to the horrible turn of events that lead me to write this formal complaint. At approx. 7:10 pm another guy called from a different wrecker service asking the location of the vehicle and verifying info on it. I politely told the gentleman that there had already been a company dispatched that picked it up. Left that at that. Then later at approx. 10 pm someone gets to the location the car was supposed to be towed to and it’s not there. So at this point I’m panicking, thinking of all the bad things that may have happened in the course of four hours. So I began to call the numbers that had called me earlier from the wrecker service that was supposed to have possession of the vehicle.
First I call Kenny at ** (10:06p) who said that yea he remembered and it was Dave with the Flatbed and he would call the dispatch and give me a callback. Then I received a call at 10:11p from a lady that was dispatch with Davenport wrecker service. She advised me that the gentleman that towed the vehicle had mechanical issues with the truck and someone had to come out and fix it and she didn’t know he had not completed the call at the time of servicing the truck. Said he was dispatched to do a few other light calls due to high need in the area. She advised me that he would be dropping the vehicle off at its destination within 45 min.
So at this point, I’m upset but relieved that we have found the car and it will be dropped off soon. One would think we were out of the water. Then at approx. 10:23 I receive a call from AAA gentlemen and asked if I had canceled a call. I thought back over the series of events and stated yes, believing him to be referring to the 3rd call I had received from the gentleman that was not with Davenport. That was that. So then here it was nearly an hour and a half later since I talked to Davenport Dispatcher and still no vehicle. So I called them at 11:33p and got a gentleman on the phone by the name of Robert with Davenport that tried to piece together the series of events that happened before he even arrived. Between the time of 11:33 pm and 11:57p we had approx. 5 calls between us, back and forth. Him (Robert) trying to collect info on what the truck looked like, the race of the driver, the name on the truck, etc.
Most of these things I could not answer because I personally was not there. So I called my brother on 3 way. He explained that the gentleman was **, he didn’t remember what color or the name on the truck but he had provided the driver with the keys. At this point my brother is fuming and says a few choice words in relation to the situation, not directed towards the driver. I end the 3 way call and call and speak with Robert. He advised me that he spoke with Dale who was standing beside him and he didn’t pick it up and that he would call and Kenny state he didn’t pick it up either. He said the only thing he knew left to do was call AAA himself to try and figure out what went wrong. At this point I am livid and I decide to call AAA myself to figure out what was going on and where the vehicle was. Gave the lady the whole backlog of what was going on and she transferred me to someone else in dispatch.
Now I’m like, here we go, how many times am I going to have to repeat the same story? I spoke with a Gabrielle/a who had a very condescending, uncompassionate tone to her voice. She stated she would place me on hold to do research. After a long while of holding she comes back and stated the call was canceled and that I may need to check with highway patrol because there may have been a sticker on the vehicle and they could possibly tell me the location. Unbeknownst to her within the time she had me on hold I had already reached out to my brother to have him to drive to the original location of the vehicle to see if it was still there. And lo and behold it was, with the keys sitting on the seat. On the side of the road of a public highway where anyone could have had access and done anything to or with the vehicle.
So I let Gabrielle/a know that the vehicle was still there and asked her why it hadn’t been picked up. She stated that the call was canceled. I exclaimed to her that I did not cancel the call, she said a male figure canceled the call (in a way as to say it doesn’t matter who did it, it was done). Then l was placed back on hold for another long amount of time. She came back unapologetic, stated they had dispatched someone else and they would be on the way to get the call and would Jamaal Murphy, my son be there. I told her it was freezing outside and there would be no way my child would be there waiting on a tow truck at this time of night. She stated she would have to check to see if this was acceptable being policy is the member would have to be there. Placed me back on hold then came back and told me they were en route.
At this point I didn’t appreciate the service I had received and asked to speak to a supervisor to express my disdain for the entire situation to include Gabrielle/a level of customer service and professionalism. I spoke with Garlinda (the stated Supervisor) who was not fully told the circumstances of the situation, because when I expressed to her that there had been a truck there, and that’s why he left. It all made more sense to her. She then told me that the driver that the car was left with had a problem loading the vehicle and called another driver to come pick it up. Between those things she wasn’t able to place why the vehicle was left. I expressed to her, as I am about to express to you that. I as a member never received a call to let me know there was an issue with loading the vehicle, nor did I receive a call letting me know they decided to leave the vehicle for whatever reason they did.
She (Garlinda) explained that it would have been customary for me to receive updates when problems had arisen with the tow. She relayed more compassion, and understanding for the events that had taken place. Told me they were sending someone out and would be there within 15 minutes, who to my dismay was Davenport wrecker. It would be Robert and to make sure my brother would not cause any arguments. So Robert did pick the vehicle up and my brother awaited his arrival and apologized for his language earlier and he told him he understood why he was upset. These time of Roberts’s arrival was approx. 12:51a. The car made it at around 1:40a. I was on the phone with AAA approx. 45min on the last call. After this complete recall of the entire debacle, it goes without saying that I am displeased, with the service in its entirety.

Today I got stuck in a parking lot. I am a AAA plus member since 2003. I called 480 at 4:30, they tell me it'll be 90 minutes. I thought that was reasonable. I thank them and I waited. 90 minutes come and go, and no tow truck. I called him back they proceeded to tell me it will be coming at 7:30! By now it's dark, and freezing and I am alone in a parking lot! I finally got tired of waiting, and I called my daughter to come pick me up! I called AAA and ask them why they couldn't even give me a courtesy call, and the rep proceeded to tell me that it was the wrecking companies fault!
I promptly let her know that I don't pay the Wrecking Company I pay them! The last time I call them last year I needed air for my tire. Tow truck driver shows up and he didn't even have an air compressor! This is unbelievable! I have AAA my children have AAA and my parents have AAA and we have all been let down at one time or another! Be better. Your service is below marginal! I am very disappointed at the way I was treated!

I have never been so frustrated in my life! I tried to get a tow and waited 1 1/2 just for the tow truck to tell me they couldn't tow me because the car still turned on!?!? I had to go to the Victorville office to pay my tags as well and they told me over the phone my registration was $179, once I got there it was $216 & I paid then she said I'm not getting tags 'cause I need a smog. I brought my papers to the SB office then she said the system was off and asking for another $97 unless I brought the other receipt from the Victorville office I went to earlier. I came back Again and was told I still couldn't get my tags since the DMV had a hold on it for my insurance proof. 2 hours later the DMV tells me I paid it months ago and would clear it for me right away. This has been the worst day of my life!
Between Triple A I also had issues with all the different phone calls I made and getting pulled over by highway patrol. :/ This was supposed to be an easy transaction and for 8 years I've been a loyal member so I will now reconsider this whole company especially since my car couldn't even get a damn tow. I can't believe I called that I'm stuck at work and 3 hours later the tow truck guy calls me to tell me it would be another hour wait so the total of my wait time would have been 4 hours. I had to cancel because the towing was to a mechanic and it would have been almost midnight by the time my car would get there. The tow truck guy wasn't sympathetic at all, didn't care, as if you get what you get type of attitude. What if I was in the woods all by myself? Is this the customer service and service I have to deal with? I mean it's kind of scary.
I decided to try again in the morning. I called at 4:30 in the morning. Never heard from anybody again. At 5:45 am I called back and was told they would be here at 7:40 am. This is a 4:30 a.m. phone call. Again 3 hours later. I have to leave work by 8 a.m. and I really hope I get my car out of here. It is horrible service, it's changed so much from how it used to be. I don't know if they just don't have enough drivers but it's thumbs down ×3 for me.

She told me to go ahead and get repairs done and she would get bill from shop to pay for it that I had not to worry about it. Her boss said that, "She would have never told you that." I told her I could come by their office because I had her on speaker phone twice and several people heard her say that she said no. For the first six hours, he waited for roadside assistance because the service rep kept telling him they were expected to arrive within 2 hours. Twelve hours and several painful phone calls later into their customer service area, they have still not arrived. They are no longer needed, however, because an oiler tractor trailer truck has since crashed into our truck, lost control, and rolled over into a ditch, ** down all traffic. It took local authorities ten minutes to get a tow. He parked the truck in the breakdown lane, with his flashes on until his battery died. This is inexcusable. She called multiple people to see what they can do to help. On hold 10 minutes total (she did keep checking back with me). Okay great. They found someone but would be for 90 minutes. Wow okay. He called and wanted us to go buy a new extension cord to plug the truck in. He then said call him after it's been plugged in for an hour then he would be here to jump us (making it sound like he was on his way!).
Had to borrow someone vehicle to run uptown to do so. Fast forward to an hour, I called. He won't be here for another 90 minutes. We waited 90 minutes and I called again. My name is sister Kathy (Kathleen), and I was with one of your customers (pretty soon ex) on Sunday, December 31, 2017. She had received a call from the hospital to come because of a dying family member. She fetched me on the way, and we were on 290/71 heading west between William Canon and the Y, two major intersections in Austin, Texas, when she felt her tire go flat. OOPs. She called AAA to come help her, and she explained that she was attempting to get to the hospital to a dying family member. She asked that they send someone closer than the normal thing of going down the list as to who is next. They said they would dispatch someone immediately. They sent her an app where she could see where the driver was. She was disturbed as I because they sent the guy from east Austin. NO! Oh well, let him come.
Petty soon, her phone rang, and the tow truck driver said that he was on the way. He was at Ben White and 35. Okay. Then he called back. He could not find us. We were sitting right on the side of a major highway between the coordinates she had given - again two major intersections in this town. How could this be he could not find us. She did get testy with him and spoke sharply to him, but she was never rude. He kept telling her he needed better coordinates than she was giving him. What more do you want? Then he called AAA and told them he was not coming.
My friend called back, and they said they would send someone who could find her, but then they called back and said because she had yelled at the two truck driver, he felt threatened by her (5 foot woman, 120 pounds, and 67 years old - not too threatening), and they could not send someone else because she had yelled at him. At that point, she called him back and told him she was going to report him to his boss. Probably it will not do any good. When did you start taking the worker's word over the customer. Obviously, you don't need too many customers.
The police came and changed the tire. Thanks to the Austin Police Department for being a good sport and understanding about a family emergency. I live in New Orleans, and I am here visiting for the holidays. EVERYONE in New Orleans is going to here this story. I have been to church, and everyone I talked to heard the story. By the way, in case if you care, which I doubt AAA does, her family member died 20 minutes after our arrival at the hospital. You robbed her of extra time. Okay so, on Christmas Eve, someone ran into my brand-new car. Luckily she's been really cooperative and everything has gone fairly smoothly, all things considered. I had to call my own insurance company, which was lackluster - they were courteous, but not exactly friendly. Then I had to also call AAA, because that's the insurance the person who hit me has.
MY REPRESENTATIVES FOR AAA WERE SO NICE! First I spoke to Tyler, who was really friendly but had to transfer me to the claims department. After the (very brief) wait, I had the pleasure of speaking with Aiesha. She was extremely kind and thoughtful. When she asked for my license plate number and I said I didn't even have one yet, she immediately said, with genuine concern, "Oh no, you didn't even have your car that long before it happened! I'm so sorry," or something like that.
It was generally a quick and painless process to file the claim - I think it only took like 10 minutes, versus every time I call my insurance company it takes literally an hour full of weird and often fruitless questions to get anything done. So thank you, Tyler and Aiesha. I hope your bosses see this and you both get kudos if not raises. Lowkey want to switch to AAA now.

This has been without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever been subjected to. I make the initial call to have them come change a flat. I started myself but Ford vehicles have these stupid caps over the lug nuts that swell up. After getting 4/5 off and getting defeated by the last one, I make the call. 11:00AM - They tell me that someone will be there at 1:30PM (I had no problems with this). 1:30PM - The ETA disappears in the app, so I give them a call and was put on hold for a half hour. After waiting to speak to a human they tell me that someone will be there at 4:00PM.
4:00PM - The ETA changes to 23hrs (not a typo). So I call again and was put on hold again for a half hour and they told me the tech would be there within the hour. 5:00PM - As the ETA winds down to single minutes, out of nowhere it resets to 1hr 27min. I didn't call this time because I was just going to give up on their crappy service. 6:30PM - Finally a tech arrives in the area but for some reason was across the street in traffic about to drive away from the area where my car was. I had to get out of my car and flag him down before the traffic lights turned green or else my car would be stranded.
6:45PM - The tech was grumpy as all hell and was telling me that his boss was ignoring his work requests. Great management guys. The tech eventually saw that I was just a normal person in a crappy situation and cooled down and even offered me a cell phone charge (after my battery drained from using the app, calling, and looking up alternative solutions). The tech was successful and got the tire on after about a half hour of work. First let me say that I do not fault the actual service provider, but I do fault AAA for having an inadequate number of operators and roadside assistance contractors. This morning I tried to start my vehicle to go to work and found the battery completely drained. I could not determine where to connect the 4th jumper cable to my vehicle (manual said not to the battery, but the engine block is completely covered). Since the battery was older, so I decided to call AAA and go ahead and have them replace it instead of jump starting it. I called at 9:42 a.m. and was on hold for at least 10 minutes. The recorded messages said I could submit my service request online, but when I tried to set up an account after downloading the app and then online, I was unable to get past the Captcha security feature. I tried at least 10 times, and the app/website would not accept my correctly typed entries.
I called the roadside assistance number again and waited on hold for another 10 minutes. I was finally able to report my problem, and after hanging up, a local tow service contractor called me back to confirm my information and say that someone would be out within an hour (around 11:15 a.m.). Guess what? It was almost 12:40 p.m. when the service technician arrived. He had had numerous calls already, and the one before me involved replacing the battery in a Chrysler Sebring (apparently the whole fender and other parts need to come off to get to it). While I was waiting I went ahead and unbolted the battery holder and the 2 battery terminals to speed up the process. I am thankful that I was not stranded at night in the middle of nowhere! The work was finally finished at 12:55 p.m. Ridiculous!!! I do not appreciate paying almost $150 a year for this type of emergency service. I'm reaching out to anyone with a similar experience. Recently I discovered a letter in my mail from the DMV indicating my drivers license would be suspended because a vehicle in my name was involved in an accident and didn't have liability insurance. OK here's what I know for sure after speaking with DMV: The accident happened approx 150 miles from my home at around midnight in Los Angeles. While the motorcycle in question somehow shares all the same information as a motorcycle I own (i.e. plate, VIN) the make of the motorcycles are completely different. We're talking dirt bike and a Harley. I (a retired vet) was not riding, nor was my "dirt bike" that is also apparently a "Harley" out of my garage, 150+ miles from the accident.
So here's my problem and where I smell a scam. Tripple A can has access to DMV records. From what I'm gathering is AAA can take partial plate information and then go from there. I came home to a letter and now have to request a hearing and will probably have to drive 300+ miles to a courthouse in Van Nuys because AAA forwarded my information to the DMV... The worst part is the information wasn't correct. If the DMV even looked (which they admitted they don't investigate any of the AAA claims) they would have noticed the make/model of the bike was incorrect and forced AAA to verify their information. As is, they can pull up any plate they want and send it to the DMV. Why would this benefit anyone? I'm not 100% sure but shortly after speaking with the DMV, I get a call from a collection service on behalf of AAA for $1100.00
So, I've had several DMV workers confirm this shady company (AAA) was constantly filing bogus or "with error" claims to the DMV who just turns a blind eye and sends out a letter which adds validity to the bogus letter coming from the claims service center (acting on behalf of AAA)... Right? Anyone else fall into this and had to buy your way out or got to hearing? I'm dead serious in that I was living my life where I live and a giant hand came out of the sky and said "Tag! You're it" One last bit about me is I held a high clearance for many years and a mark on my record, unsubstantiated or not will take extra explaining.
I just want to know if I'm just "that guy" or if other people have been victimized by this apparent AAA scam. It's crazy to think AAA can pull up any plate, get your info and report you to the DMV. The DMV will just throw its weight behind the claim and suspend your license, unless you prove you had insurance, or request a hearing or pay a fine. Crazy to think anyone can become Triple A victim!
