08/07/2020 Time 8:45 pm, I called AAA roadside assistance from i95. I was told the ETA for the tow truck would be 9:25. After a 2 hour wait, I called back again and after an hour wait on hold I was told it would be another 65 minute wait. Again they asked my location like they did the first time 3 hours before, they said both times they dispatched a truck. After another 3 hours of wait, I am still waiting in this dark highway not knowing if there really is a tow truck coming for me.
If You Get This Service, be ready to wait at least 6 or 7 hours. Between waiting on hold by the phone, or waiting for a tow truck that might not show up at all, I’d guarantee You will consider just paying outright a $200 tow from any tow truck service, than to wait for 6, 7 or even 8 hours. Expect to be exhausted, frustrated, and extremely angry. This service is in a downward spiral. Most sincerely from somewhere in i95. I just got a new ETA 3:08 am... from 8:45 pm to maybe 3:08 am maybe you do the Math!

My car broke down on hilly interstate 90 in Washington state on 30th of July, 2020 at 7 pm. I called AAA and the agent told me they were having a hard time getting a tow truck and kept telling me to wait. I waited 3 hours in narrow freeway shoulder where lots of semi passing by and I felt very unsafe after sunset. I decided to leave the site and let AAA know I was leaving the car unattended and asked them to tow my car nearby town first in the following morning and let me know.
I did not get any message from AAA until following day afternoon so "I" called AAA again to find out whereabouts of my car. It turned out my car was still there until following afternoon and finally picked up after 24 hours of the incident. I was not notified what must be done when I left my car unattended, so I had to come back to my car again only to leave the key in the car because I accidentally took the key when I left the site. The service they provided was absolutely not satisfactory and poor. I will not recommend AAA for your road trip. Bring your tent instead or call local towing company. It will probably cost the same and faster.

On a very hot Arizona July afternoon, I had to temporarily park my vehicle in an odd spot a half block from my home so I could carry grocery and other shopping items to my house. My street was being resurfaced that day and was blocked off for 24 hours. I unloaded my items and returned to move the vehicle. It would not start! Called AAA and within 35 min David ** had called twice with his location, arrived, thoroughly checked under the hood-battery, etc. and everything was in good shape. Battery just needed to be jumped. He was very fast, efficient, polite and professional. Excellent service and on his way!

On two separate issues. First one, a flat tire. At 4:30 am. Called AAA, Spent 25 minutes on hold, only to have person come back on the line and told they had no one that could help. It was suggested to me to call the local police dept, and ask them to change it. If I did not have a bad back, I would have done myself. Had to call a local towing company, they were there in 15 minutes. Second issue- my vehicle slid on black ice into a ditch, was sitting sideways in the vehicle. Called AAA. Was told it would be 3 hrs before they could get to me. Called the same local towing company, got him out of bed and he was there in 20 minutes. 5 minutes I was out of the ditch. Thanks but no thanks AAA, you used to be a company you could count on, but no more.

I needed a battery jump after my car was stored in a airport garage in Austin, Tx. I contacted AAA, roadside service to further assist me after the airport garage maintenance crew gave me a jump. The driver of AAA arrived contacted me via phone but could not access the airport parking garage due to the flat bed towing truck he was driving. He stayed near by until my car started with the help of the airport maintenance service. The AAA driver (Daniel) met up with me at a gas station across from the airport. He was very professional, courteous and patient with me. I needed to get gas and another battery jump, he stayed by my side. Making sure that I was able to continue my drive safely to my destination. I am very grateful for people like Daniel, and AAA roadside service. It was a awesome experience. Thank you for your help. "Keep the Blessings flowing"

I broke down at the Powhite toll plaza, this morning & called AAA at 11:55a. After waiting for an hour & 15m, I called back. I was on hold for 17m due to call volume, understandably. However, when a counselor answered he told me that he would have dispatch contact me with an ETA. I received a call within 30 seconds from the tow driver who told me he would arrive in approximately 25m. I asked him where was he coming from. He had just gotten the call & was coming from Midlothian. So, AAA didn't dispatch any tow truck! Awful service!!

I am handicapped and suffer with Type 2 Diabetes, called AAA 800 number. Reported my car would not start, was at (specific location), they replied they contacted service provider and help would be there shortly. If no one showed up in two and 1/2 hours call AAA back. I waited 2 hours 40 minutes and called back, the first thing they said was, "It hasn't been 2 1/2 hours." I corrected her and asked status of my service. She replied she was calling them again and would call me back. By this time I was over 5 hours past my time for insulin, I called my normal repair service, told them my situation and had a person show up in 20 minutes. The tow was arranged (less than 4 miles) as was my transportation home. (11 miles) I canceled the AAA service call.

So called triple AAA 2 weeks ago. Would not pick vehicle up because I was not there. Called triple AAA today for a tow at 6:30pm, Waited the 1 hour they said someone would be there, 1 hour went by, no tow truck, called, waited 35 minutes on hold to be told no one has been dispatched to the tow. Then told they can do an unattended tow. Really Because 2 weeks ago they couldnt tow the vehicle because I was not there. So I said fine. At this point it is 8pm at 90+Degree. They said someone would be there at 9:25 to pick vehicle up. First call placed at 6:30. 5 hours later still waiting for it to show up. Called Triple AAA 4 times, spend over 3 hours on the phone between holds and figuring out what is going on. Terrible Customer service. They had no clue what was going on. All they did was lie about when a tow truck would show up. Not sure I will renew next year...And after 7 hours still dont know when my vehicle will be towed... Unbelievable.

My wife lost her keys at her place of employment, called AAA auto club, we have been a 12 year premier member, hold time was very long, we needed a key made which is covered by our plan, she did not have sufficient ID, I sent pictures of IDs to her phone which was not acceptable, would not tow it neither, a woman alone in a warehouse area, I called AAA and asked to talk to supervisor who did not seem to care, I drove 30 miles to where she was and called again, they sent a tow company out, he took pictures of my ID card and drivers license and would come back for tow, took my wife home and back to work the next day, truck still in parking lot.
Fortunately it did not get vandalized, ended up towing truck to my place of employment and then had to call back to get someone out to make key, they had no problem taking my premier membership fees for 12 years, but providing the service I pay for was another story, my advice, find another roadside assistance company, save yourself the hassle.

I have been a AAA member for 9 years and the service has been fine. However I usually pay for Membership a year at a time with automatic renewal. I call to cancel my membership which starts in May. I was told they can stop the automatic renewal, but that no balance of monies (9 months worth) would be refunded. I know when I have dropped secondary cards I was given credit for the balance. This is and outrageous policy. It should not be allowed. Never pay them in advance, do it by the month.

AAA tow service got worse than ever, with 45-50 minutes of avg waiting and attitude. And now their insurance, that makes you think it's nonprofit. Have you ever seen the staff that is employed by them? You pay all their salary, worst insurance, would not recommend to an enemy.

If I could, I'd give them ZERO stars. On Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11:24pm (CDST) we needed AAA services and they FAILED! We have been a member continuously since 1987. 33 years!! We have rarely even utilized their services but kept it just in case there was a time I would need help. And when I did, they could not help me. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. We were traveling on Interstate Hwy 10 westbound in the Florida panhandle when we had a tire blowout (left rear) on our travel trailer which also caused some damage to the panel of the RV. We managed to pull off the highway on the narrow shoulder with a sloped drop-off and overgrown grass making it difficult to safely distance our vehicles from the busy interstate. It was quite scary to have semi trucks and cars flying past us going 70-80 mph (or more!).
For the next 2 hours all I got were phone calls saying that they still could NOT find anyone to come assist us.
I don't think the people I spoke with even understood what we needed even though I explained it clearly. All we needed was help in changing the tire on the travel trailer (i.e. jacking up the trailer & providing protection from the traffic speeding by). We had a spare. Because we finally called the Florida Highway Patrol, my husband was able to get the tire changed with the officer's assistance and the patrol car providing some protection. But clearly no help from AAA Roadside Assistance.
Another thing that I find irresponsible (although it didn't directly affect me) is the statement on the AAA recording saying that, due to COVID-19, if our vehicle has to be towed, that the owner would not be allowed to ride in the truck to the repair garage. That is ridiculous!! What are you going to do? Just leave people on the side of a highway to fend for themselves?? I understand they are trying to protect the tow truck drivers but what about protecting the members??? So, after 33 years with AAA, we plan NOT to renew our membership. We can get roadside assistance through our vehicle's insurance policies which has to be a much better use of our money.

I am being harassed by a AAA employee just because I didn’t give him my odometer reading at 12 am after he called my phone 6 times in a row. After I hung up on him a few minutes later I was called 30 times or more within 15 min from many different numbers including the original one he used to call me the first time. All from Google Voice.
This was on July 1st. I called AAA and they supposedly opened a case but still have not reached out to me to resolve the issue. The driver is mentally unstable and I’m in fear for my life. He called again at 4 am from a google voice number and told me to “go ** myself". Remember this happened on the July 1st. That was July 15th he called and told me that. Two weeks later I’m still being harassed and AAA won’t do anything about their employee.
I talked to Pat from their customer care department I believe. And she said that I would be contacted that day! It is July 18th and he still is calling and harassing me. I already hired a lawyer and will be taking legal action if they don’t fix this and hold their employees accountable. Already contacted 2 people from AAA customer service with promised.

Had a membership with Triple AAA. After going in the ditch and in the middle of the winter. So I called Triple AAA to tow me out, they said I wasn't in the area to get towed out of the ditch even though I had a membership. How I got out was because of a state trooper. Paid for it out of his own pocket. So that left me saying to myself why do I have triple AAA if they were going to help me at all cause I was out of the area. They state on their billing mail out anytime anyplace anywhere. That's A false statement. I wonder how many people this happens to everywhere in the world. So I cancelled my membership. So even after I get my membership cancelled I still till this day, I still get the billing from triple AAA saying what I owe and I still want triple AAA or not. It's a joke and bull crap to say the least. Never go thru Triple AAA again. Loss my business AAA.

I am very disappointed in AAA because the first thing that I get through email is to save $0.30 a gallon on Shell gas and then when you read the fine print it states on your first three fill ups so that's like $0.10 off a gallon. I can go to Kroger and I get $0.40 off a gallon because I grocery shop there. I even have $0.80 off a gallon so again AAA you lose and you can't beat other savings that I get.
I don't travel. I work full-time plus overtime so I don't get to travel so there's no savings really. I guess the only reason I got you is because in case my car breaks down, I can get it towed. It's a lot of money to pay for a "just in case" I break down situation. Since people are working to an older age it's my belief that AAA should offer something more to those who still work for a living. Not everybody travels every summer. Not everybody gets a vacation every year but if I break down I can get towed. I'm starting to believe that AAA is not much better than AARP! AARP is worse! AAA you really need to step up your game.

On 6/30 at 1:50 pm my Eurovan broke down on an isolated road in 90 degree heat near Laytonville. AAA was called & I received a call from the towing company that AAA contacted (Willets Tire Center) saying it would be at least 2 hours as they were on a call far away. Due to the heat and breakdown location, my daughter picked up me & my husband (74 and 85 years old) and took us to her home an hour away. We were to wait to hear from the towing company. We gave other phone numbers for both AAA and tow driver to use for contact as my cell phone did not receive service.
Long story of multiple AAA calls and total failure to show up AND AAA left my daughter waiting at the vehicle as it became dusk.... Totally unsafe. Never called her back to say no one was coming. AAA later insisted that the original member HAD to be present , but all families involved were AAA members. AAA contracted with an unreliable Towing company and we suffered for it. After this fiasco and reading other reviews I’m sorry I have put $ into AAA for over 55 years.

My wife and I have lost all trust and comfort with AAA’s Roadside Service. Friday, July 3rd, my wife and were 700 miles from home, 105 miles from our destination with our two dogs. We were in my 2013 Ford FX4 pulling our travel trailer to spend the 4th with our daughter. I just had my truck serviced by Ford, but unfortunately a message “Low Oil Pressure” and the engine shutoff. We called AAA. Their response was “we can send a tow truck, but due COVID 19 we cannot have you ride with them.” "Do you know anyone locally?" I explained again we were in the middle of nowhere and no we don’t know any near us. The dispatcher again repeated, "Due to COVID 19 we cannot provide you a ride."
If it hadn’t been for an amazing Sheriff Deputy who got off of the next exit 2 miles down the road and backtracked to us on our side of the highway, we’d have been left stranded on the side of the highway. Instead, the Sheriff Deputy called their local tow truck. That flatbed loaded my truck, connected the trailer and gave my wife, dogs and I a ride 2 miles down the highway to Lima, Montana local campground. Amazing town of people! AAA is a major disappointment!!!! — They are completely okay leaving a family to fend for themselves. AAA = LAME. ????

The day of, I call a rep and she confirms a tow truck will arrive. Shortly after, I get a phone call from a rude individual that said no tow truck would be coming. No towing from auction lots is an understandable policy, just please make sure your employees actually know it, and the gentleman I spoke to over the phone was just horrible. When I requested to cancel my membership they told me it was "non-cancellable" and that refunds were not possible. Nowhere in the brochure they sent me that policy was spelled out thus, legally, I was entitled to a cancellation and reimbursement. The supervisor was very inflexible, rude and aggressive. On the other hand, after this incident, I became a member of Good Sam's and the experience was flawless and radically opposite to AAA's, not to say that I got a much better deal for my membership. My husband and I have been premier members of AAA for over 25 years, and when our daughters got their licenses, we put them on the family plan and paid for extra distance towing as they both go to college many miles away from us. I would say I've used AAA a handful of times only, and in the past, the service was good. We live in Salinas, CA and my daughter goes to Chico State and was driving her car home for the weekend. She experienced car trouble (water or fuel pump broke, car was smoking) in Fairfield and pulled over to the side of the road. A CHP officer stopped, called AAA for her and escorted her to a nearby gas station. She was told 30 min. to tow the car to a repair shop.
The plan was for my friend in S. San Francisco to drive over to pick her up, once the car was towed and I would drive to San Francisco to pick her up there. She waited for two hours, no texts or anything, she kept calling back. Finally, she was told she was CANCELLED--no reason, no apology. My daughter is only 18 and was afraid, as it was getting dark, and she was texting us that she was approached by men in the parking lot wanting "to help her". So, she calls again, and CS says it will be 30 min. Hour and a half later, my daughter calls AGAIN, this time she's told her tow driver is busy, and will come when HE CAN. No estimated time of arrival at this point, my daughter is now hysterical, so am I. She's now been waiting 4.5 hours. So, we decide she'll leave the car there, and she calls Uber, driver comes in minutes, and he drove her 2.5 hours home.
He said she was lucky to have called him, as it was now dark and few drivers would want to drive that far. He was super sweet and kind. It cost us $265. And I'm positive this company will not reimburse us based on other reviews I've read. If they had only told us that the tow truck was NEVER coming, I would have driven there myself. This company should go out of business. I'm calling USAA to see if they offer roadside assistance and cancelling AAA. Too bad, this was ONCE a good company.

My name is Kathy **. I recently moved to Henderson, NV after a Sudden and Horrible Divorce in Martinez, CA. (10 hour drive) I drove my 2008 Honda Accord V6. The car was left to me by my Father in Oct. 2013 after his death. It had 11,000 miles on it. I always take care of my Hondas. Since 1985. Anyway, my car died with 163,000 miles due to the neglect and incompetence of Firestone Complete Auto Service (Lol!) on Stephanie & American Pacific in Henderson, NV.
On the evening of May 21st as I was driving down W Sunset... my car stalled. Smoke was coming out of the Hood. There was a lot of traffic. A police officer stopped and told me he would need to place flares around my car so that nobody would hit me. I asked him if he could please call AAA Roadside for me. He did. So The AAA tow truck arrived... I handed the man my card. I said "I just need it towed to Firestone right there..." I pointed, as Firestone was right next to us on Mall Ring Circle. If he nodded or said anything... I didn't hear him.
I then did what I Always Do in the 40 years since having AAA Roadside, I got into the truck and waited. After about 30-35 minutes... I decided to get out and see what was going on. As I was stepping out of the truck (which I did not realize how high up it was) I lost my balance and fell back on my head, HARD! I screamed. The man (if you can call him a man) came over to me, looked at me like I was weird and walked away...
I managed to pick myself up...reminded him to drop it off at Firestone and I walked home (2 miles or so) I looked back a few times just to see if he would even bother to see if I was alright. I never saw him. I had a head wound, multiple bruises, butt pain (lol) went to the hospital the the next day. Maybe 2 days later. I couldn't decide if I should...but the more I thought about it the angrier I became so I went. Later on, I found out that AAA was not driving people home due to Coronavirus, in which case the AAA Tow Truck Driver should have brought to my attention IMMEDIATELY! Right? I had no idea since the police officer was the one that called them.
Funny, because 2 days later after Firestone refused to work on my car, I had to call AAA again to have it towed elsewhere. This driver said I could ride in the truck with him. Very Sweet, Professional & Respectful Man! Easy on the eyes too! Briggs was his name. I think there was an H in his name somewhere. So I was very stunned and surprised by the previous driver's unprofessionalism, lack of respect and lack of human kindness. So of course I had to use Uber & Lyft. I told one of the Uber drivers what had happened. I said "Is that common here in Nevada?" He said "Yes, it is." Now I hope he was kidding but he did not laugh.
Now it's been 9 days and my Car is at AAA Auto Repair. (Was not gonna take it back to Firestone!) It needs a new engine.... Now... I will not be paying for it. Firestone will be. Now I know everybody is on edge since Covid-19... but this AAA driver (I do not know his name) he obviously had serious problems prior to Covid-19. The first word that popped into my head was Narcissist. But I obviously cannot give him a diagnosis. I just really feel sorry for him! I think he should be Fired! I am sure that his story will vary from mine but I was born in the 60's. I was raised not to lie...
Thanks!Kathleen~

My son spare tire was the wrong size so the tire called AAA Towing for me. It took them about 4 hour to get to me in about 108 degree heat. Now mind you I had an appointment of course I missed it.. They lied to me and said they were backed up. Is this the type of service I'm expected to get from them in the future? They were not backed up. Give me a break. I hope not. AAA you fell me as a customer today. I hope and pray you do better with your customer lousy lousy service today. I am not happy with your service at all this time. I had to give you a rating so I gave you a 1 but your services was less than that... Very unhappy AAA customer

I had a terrible experience with AAA last night. First of all they got my information all screwed up not once not twice but three times. They had an incorrect location for me 3 different times and therefore dispatched a tow truck company that called me and told me they could not come tow me because I was outside their jurisdiction. Then I was intentionally left on hold for close to 30 minutes after I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager.
Finally the tow truck driver that did finally come pick up my car came to my car and left without contacting me to tell me they were on their way so they had to be redispatched out a second time. So in entirety, I was stuck on the side of a busy highway for over 2 and a half hours and my car was not picked up until almost 4 hours after my initial call to AAA roadside service. I was very explicit in describing where I was located and 3 different people reiterated back to me my information and they all still managed to screw it up. Wasted my whole night and I was late to work today because of it. Thanks AAA, great job (NOT).

I Had a Ford E250 van with 1 extension ladder on it and shelving for materials. Alternator went and called for a tow. The tow Company did not want to tow for some reason so he said I had to remove the ladder and ALL the shelving inside in order to tow. AAA backed up tow co. decision and would not tow. I called up AAA and explained situation to corporate office. Was told every tow co. has their own discretion. They have the right to refuse any vehicle and AAA cannot do anything about it. Would just like people to know they could be refused any tow at any time for any reason the tow co. wants. So be careful not to pay for a service that you might really one day need and possibly could be refused like it happened to me.

I have used AAA for years -- it offers peace of mind if I ever have a problem. My last experience was so bad, I felt I needed to post a review. My car had a Low Tire Pressure light on the dash. We parked the car in the garage and didn't get around to fixing it for several weeks (we weren't going anywhere because of COVID). When we tried to start the car to take it to the service center, the battery was dead.
We called Honda Roadside Service -- they said they would call AAA and someone would be there in 45 minutes. 2-1/2 hours later the tow truck driver showed up. He was not wearing a face mask; he did not practice social distancing; he came with the wrong kind of tow truck (we were parked head-first in the garage); and he did not have any jumper cables with him. We ended up having a neighbor come over with jumper cables and start the car. It was a total waste of time and extremely aggravating. Would not recommend this service to anyone.

I called AAA when my car would not start. I told them multiple times it was not the battery as I had just had a new one installed at inspection. Also the engine was trying to turn over and the battery icon did not show up on the dash. They sent a battery only man out without a tow truck. He showed me his order which said, "BATTERY". He checked the battery which came up 100%. I told him I told them it was NOT the battery and what I said. He called his manager who said since I had no documentation that I said that I would have to call back and pay for a tow. How would I have documentation.
I called them and it said, "Your call will be recorded for training purposes." THEY had documentation. I was charged $55 for nothing! I was not given a receipt which I need to be reimbursed from my insurance company. I was told it would be in the mail more than two weeks ago. Now I have to call again to HOPEFULLY get one. Horrible customer service and dishonest.

Had let my membership to AAA lapse, and rejoined. That day, my car died in an intersection, and since the paperwork had not been in effect for the required 48 hours, I was charged a $75.00 fee for service. AAA then sent me a letter about how I had been a loyal customer for 15 years. Since then, I have used my membership several times, and received a letter that three of my four yearly service requests had been used. When I called customer service, I was informed that even though I had paid extra for my first service, and also paid yearly membership fees, it was still considered a service and the representative would not remove it from my yearly total. I realize that AAA has been used for service and memberships cancelled, but that is not what I did. I feel that this could have been handled better, and that service is lacking. Don't congratulate me for being a valued customer when you don't treat me like one.

Purchase your roadside assistance through your car insurance policy, cheaper and unlimited tows/mileage... Couple weeks ago my car broke down again. Of course back to the garage it had to go. I it 31 miles from where the car was and where the car had to go. I had to leave it at the location it was at and had to get a ride home because all my information was at home.
When I got home I called AAA and told them that I needed my car towed and explained that I left my son at the house we were at with the car to wait for the tow and he would spend the night there so to not to have to go in the tow truck. Now I know you are supposed to be with the car when the tow truck gets there but we were at the time and still are in a Coronavirus pandemic and where I live we have a travel ban after 8 pm and I didn’t get home of course until after 8 pm and I needed my car to get to the garage.
I contacted customer service and was told during the Coronavirus and past the time of a travel ban that they would not send a tow truck because I was not with the car! I said to the woman! "You are working from home, correct due to the Coronavirus?" She said yes! I said, "Well I cannot be with the car nor could I drive back there because one, it’s over 40 mins away and it’s after 8 pm and we have a travel ban where I live for non-essential people." She refused to send a tow, she refused to help me in order to get my car to the garage and her boss told her to tell me if I wanted to add my son to the plan that they could do that and get the car towed for an additional $75 for the urgent add on and another additional fee of something like $130 dollars. I will NEVER pay or use AAA ever again.

I had a little juice left as the windows, lights, and radio work. Engine was trying to turn over. I called AAA and asked for a jump. Being during Covid19 pandemic I didn't want to bother just anyone around me to help and that's why we pay for this service. Was told 45min, ok good. 1hr 30min later was told the delay was because my call was put in for a "battery change". Huh? I didn't request a battery, just a jump? Finally roadside pickup truck arrived and twice put cables on with no result.
I told him my car was just serviced. He said, "Oh, could be your starter." Sorry dude, just had my starter changed few weeks ago, but good try. The very minute I picked up my phone and mentioned I was calling my son who's a mechanic he adjusted cables and my engine miraculously, immediately started this time. He had a look on his face like this scam ain't working and better just jump the car and go. I never write reviews, but feel I have an obligation to warn other people of this battery scam. My name is Brad **, legally Joshua B **. Member number **. Sometime in late February, I was travelling down a residential dirt road in Pelham, Ga. I am a travelling life insurance agent by profession. It had been raining pretty severely for a day or two. At some point on the road I become stuck in the mud. I then called AAA. First person I spoke to was, Janeqwa. She called the local tow company and then called me back. She said they would have to bring a special machine to get me out and that it was an extra charge, however that management at AAA had already approved it and that the tow company was on the way. She sent me a text and said that The tow truck would be there in approximately 1 hour.
Moving forward, Karen another agent calls me when the hour has almost expired. She apologizes and says that Janeqwa was wrong and says that I will need to pay an extra $250.00 to the tow company, Royce's Towing and Recovery. Mind you, I am on a residential street, my family pays tons of money to AAA and we never use them. So another hour goes by and the Tow company shows up. They use a small bobcat like thing to turn my car around and I drive back out the same way I came in. Probably took 20 minutes tops. The tow truck guys were super nice. I paid them 200 instead of the 250.
Furthermore, I called member relations the following day to discuss my member benefits and ask for a partial refund. I spoke to one girl who just rudely transferred me to a man named, Brian, in member relations. She was upset. Asked me to take her off of speakerphone. When I said I was driving and could not, she didn't say anything. She just transferred me. Brian took down all my information and said someone would call me back. It sounded like Brian was writing everything down and not even typing it into a computer. He was nice, but everything up to this point with AAA just sounded like unprofessional untrained employees.
A week later on March 4th, Cindy, a manager with the badge number (**) called me back. She said there was nothing they could do and that they would not offer me anything to compensate for the money I had to come out of pocket. In addition, she basically insinuated that getting stuck in the mud was my fault and that these things can get pretty expensive. She said they only cover 50 feet of rope for off the road and that even though I qualified for two tow trucks per incident, that in this case the bobcat was special so I did not qualify.
I was only asking for AAA to split the cost with me and credit me $100. They literally would not offer me anything, not even an extra service for the year added to my account just in case something happened. Everyone was highly unprofessional, though Brian and Karen were pretty nice about it all. I am shocked that as large as this company is that they treat their Premium/Plus members this way. Just a word to wise when you think of giving your money to this company. Nothing is really ever what it seems anymore. Sincerely, Brad **.

Because it was over five miles, there was another $5 per mile charge added. OK. I can see that was fair enough, and we were stuck on the road with limited options.
However, I went to upgrade my membership (for another $60) and was informed that the tow I paid for counted as one of my four allowed service calls for the year. Wait: I paid for it...but it still reduces my number of tows? Hopefully I won't have another tow this year, but, in my opinion, that raised my AAA membership by another $60 for the year. That is a bit of highway robbery. Just know this heading into a year with them. Our car was going up a hill and shut down. Luckily we were able to get onto the shoulder of the road. There wasn’t very much room there and on the other side of the guard rail was a sheer cliff. We turned on our hazard lights. We checked our phones for service, but had none. We were in a dead zone. We weren’t sure what to do. My husband finally decided to hitchhike. He caught a ride with a motorcycle to the next town so he could call AAA. My daughter and I stayed behind, not knowing when he would return.
When my husband got to the nearest town where he could get cell phone service, about 20 minutes west of us, he called AAA and let them know exactly where we were and they said someone would be coming to get us. The motorcyclist was nice enough to bring my husband back to my daughter and I. Then we began to wait. It became dark. We waited and waited and waited. We saw a total of four AAA tow trucks pass us by during that time. Each time we saw one, we would get excited that it was coming for us, but it would just drive by. A couple other concerned citizens stopped to make sure we were okay. Not once did we see a highway patrol or any type of law-enforcement.
After about 4 1/2 hours, one of the tow truck drivers who had passed by once and was passing by a second time, stopped to make sure we were okay. He was not assigned to pick us up, but felt bad for us. He agreed to load up our car and take us to the next town so that we would be safer and have cell service. If it weren’t for him, I don’t know what we would have done or how long we would have been on the side of the road there. Once we got into the next town, Clearlake Oaks, California, the tow truck driver unloaded us near a gas station and he left. We began calling AAA to see what was going on.
We called several times and each time they said that they were trying to find a tow truck to come get us. No truck ever came. Finally, around 11:00 PM, we got a final call from AAA letting us know that they could not find anyone to come get us and that we would have to try again in the morning. We could not believe what we were hearing. Why did we pay for the service if it can’t help us when we need it? Luckily, we had blankets, food, and water in our car. It was starting to get very cold and our daughter had fallen asleep. We thought about sleeping in our car all night, but decided to walk to a motel.
The next morning, we called AAA and they sent a truck to get us and towed us to our mechanic 124 miles away. I have never been so disappointed in a company. I really feel like canceling my membership because why should I keep it if it does me no good when I really need it? If you have a plug in your car lighter for your electronics, which we do, that also pulls current even when nothing is connected. He explained how to keep the battery charged by ensuring that we start the car at least every few days. I was unaware that car batteries can run down in a matter of weeks, all due to the onboard computer systems. He was very polite, professional, and competent.

After being a member for about 30 years, when I called for road service the person on the phone said we owed for a service almost four years ago. Yet we had had road service within that four year period and had never been told this, AND had always paid the membership fee on time. Of course after four years, I can't find a receipt to show I paid, so we had to pay before they would come out. This is extortion. I will never give another dime to AAA.

My 82-year-old father recently ran into a problem while trying to renew his vehicle’s registration. Apparently there was a minor discrepancy with the vehicle’s VIN. On Tuesday, February 11, 2020, I called AAA and spoke with Ms. Pamela **. She stated that she could e-mail my father a memo explaining that the VIN had already been corrected the week before, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, when my father had originally notified AAA of the discrepancy.
My father received the memo and took it to the Probate Office the following day, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. However, he was told that someone from AAA would have to personally call the Probate Office – even though they had a memo from AAA on official AAA letterhead. So, the following day, on Thursday, February 13, 2020, I called AAA and spoke with Ms. ** again, explaining that the Probate Office wanted someone from AAA to personally call their office. Ms. ** called the Probate Office and explained that my father’s VIN had already been corrected on February 4, 2020.
So, on Friday, February 14, 2020, the following day, my father and I went to the Probate Office to try to register his vehicle; however, we were told that we needed to wait 24 – 48 hours in order to give their database enough time to update the correct VIN. Since Monday, February 17, 2020, was a holiday, Presidents’ Day, we decided to wait until Wednesday, February 19, 2020, to return to the Probate Office, where, thank goodness, my father was FINALLY able to renew his vehicle’s registration with zero problems!
My father and I would like to express our sincere gratitude by taking a minute to personally thank Ms. Pamela ** for her prompt, professional, and courteous response to our multiple requests for assistance during this truly exasperating situation. Clearly Ms. ** values good customer service as well as good customer relationships. Kudos to her! Keep up the good work, AAA.

My car suddenly stopped while traveling south on the 405. I called AAA immediately and told them I am not in a safe place (aka in the middle of a 5-lane expressway with cars whizzing by and swerving to miss me). I was told that they would contact the police and put me on high priority for a tow. An HOUR later the tow truck showed up (the police never did). While sitting in my car, I couldn't get out due to being in the middle lane so I had to sit there and hope that I was not rear-ended by a car going 80+ MPH. When I called back to try to better explain my situation I was told, with almost no sense of urgency, that they are working on it. A metro tow truck did come and pull me to the side of the road. 30 minutes before AAA arrived (I did not call them. Not sure how to found out about me but the fact that a random tow truck got to me before the "urgent" one AAA sent says a lot).

My 2017 Ford truck broke down, and I needed it towed to the dealership I bought it from to either have it repaired or to trade it in if the repair was going to cost too much. Because I MIGHT trade it in, AAA refused to tow it. It should not matter if the vehicle is going to be traded in or just repaired, the fact of the matter is that I paid for a premier membership, and my vehicle broke down. They will not tow it, after arguing with the rep, and then the manager, I hung up, and here I sit, with a broken truck, a PAID AAA premium membership, and no tow to get the truck to the dealer to have it fixed, and/or trade it in.
I would not advise ANYONE to buy a membership with AAA, your vehicle insurance company offers roadside towing, and they won't discriminate. AAA is NOT the same as they were 5 years ago, they can not be trusted to assist you if you need services you have paid for, as they refused to provide the service they contracted with me to provide when I paid for my AAA membership. Do NOT count on them, instead, pay the $20 per year to your insurance company for their road-side assistance, they won't leave you broke down on the side of the freeway like AAA did to me, (it COULD have been me, my wife and 3 of my under 10 year old grandkids and my wife's service dog, bengi, a tea-cup Yorkie, that they turned their backs on, HAD it been a few days earlier) So now, I no longer feel I can trust AAA, are YOU willing to?

How could we have been driving around with a backwards battery? The answer of course is that we couldn't. The mechanic was clearly wrong but absolutely refused to listen to my dad and proceeded to install the new battery backwards. The car of course would not start with the new battery, because it was backwards! We had it towed to our local garage and the mechanic took one look and said, AAA put the battery in backwards. Long story short, we will only be calling AAA for tows from now on and will do our own batteries. It reflects very poorly on AAA and the independent agents they use when the people they send out could make such an obvious mistake.

He managed to get the vehicle to the parking lot but was told he could not fix it himself until his shift need at 3:30 am. So I signed up a AAA Plus membership & paid the extra 50.00 for same day service. I told them he could only come out with ID because he would get written up. I also gave them all the specifics of the vehicle. The tow truck driver did not have the correct size wrench so he stripped the bolts on the cradle holding the spare, his impact wrench was not powerful enough to remove one of the stuck lug nuts so it stripped it, and the tire needed some air but his machine could not air it up fully. (we did not know the tire needed air) When I called AAA during the service they said they could tow it to their shop. But if they're not going to equip their wrecker....then they Said they couId tow it to a tire shop, but it's 9:30 pm & not a metro area.

He might as well just waited until after work at 3:30 am & had a couple buddies help him and saved 160.00. It was a service agent in a mini cargo van that was hoping to sell me a battery. I made it very clear what I needed and they chose not to listen. The service agent checked my vehicle and realized that it was not a battery issue. I already knew what the problem was and that is why I specifically asked for a tow truck. I then had to wait an additional hour and a half for a real tow truck to show up. My mechanic and I were not happy. My first call was at 7AM and my vehicle did not get to the mechanic until 11:30 AM. We were waiting for our tow for several days last July and never got the service. AAA logged the incident as a complaint, collected its details, and finalized it to their liking - not letting us know what became of it. Five months later, by the end of the (report) year, they sent us three texts, as if in response to our service call, even assigning a number to that dispatch. No service truck subsequently called to see where his help was needed. AAA created a phony paper trail to make it appear as if the previously mistreated customers (us) conceded and accepted their abysmal standard of service.
We sent a certified letter cancelling our membership for pre-paid services not provided, exploiting members' information, incompetence, and fraudulent documenting, and asked for a refund of the unused portion of our yearly membership. First I had a rude and unhelpful person on the phone who put me on hold an excruciating number of times. My tire was wedged into a low stone wall and I couldn't move the car. She couldn't figure out how to categorize it and kept telling me there would be an extra charge if they had to send 2 trucks (but couldn't explain in what circumstance that would happen). Then she said they were refusing service and I would have to call the police and my insurance company. I then called VW roadside assistance and they were lovely, friendly, fast and happy to come through for me.
After I asked for a refund since basically I feel like I am paying and have been paying for nothing, I heard nothing. No apology. No refund. No customer service person reaching out to see why this member of 15 years was dissatisfied. I then messaged on Facebook and have been put off for days now and made to feel like I am impatient though this incident dates back to Dec. 22. I also asked for contact info for the CEO and was not provided that.

The second time I didn’t have that kind of time to wait for a tow so went with another tow service. The third time I waited about an hour and called dispatch back and found they put in the wrong address and then proceeded to tell me it would be another hour for someone to come out and change a flat (so total of two hours now). Luckily once, dispatch got it correct someone came out within 15 minutes. So, bottom line, they need to add more people and competent people to dispatch center.

I told them the tensioner needed to be changed, first we had a problem with a $58.50 diagnostic fee, I told them that they did not need to diagnose it but to just replace the tensioner. The lady was adamant, I gave up. 30 min later I saw a napa delivery truck show up and 15 min later the lady said I was ready. They jacked up the retail price to $257.00 and it gets better, they charged me $21.62 in shop supplies, for what?
The technician wore doctors gloves so he would not get his fingers dirty, cost. No more than 25 cents, the tensioner cost aaa no more than $96.00, it is hiway robbery for the aaa car care center to make $161.00 on a $96.00 part and then to have the nerve to tack on a $22.00 shop fee, they did only charge me $58.50 in labor (15 min including getting car in and out of shop) which was the diagnostic fee. This is a warning to anyone looking into AAA Roadside Assistance. Southern CA and Northern CA AAA are 2 different corporations and neither has access to each other's systems or roadside service calls. To put it in short terms. I was in Northern California and ran out of gas. A truck was dispatched and I received services. But because the 2 regions are not connected, Northern CA AAA did not know that I had already used my Allowed call ins for this year. So they could not inform me that I was out of services and that I would be charged a $90 service fee for them to come out.
Several months later I get a bill from Southern CA AAA for $90 which I refused to pay as I said had I been informed of this, I would have cancelled the service call and handled the problem myself. I gave the driver the $10 for gas that I was told I would have to pay. So Southern CA AAA cancelled my membership and deducted the pro rated amount against the service charge. The best part is Southern CA AAA stated that it is the consumers responsibility to keep track of their roadside emergency service calls, not AAA. PAY ATTENTION TO THE 1 STAR REVIEWS. I wish I would have read some of these reviews before purchasing any type of insurance with this company. There is an awful representative named Madison that clearly needs to make sure she has a cup of coffee before speaking with anyone because within 30 seconds of being on the phone with her I wanted to hang up in her face because of how awful she was being.
I called AAA to service my vehicle because the battery that I purchased from them was not working. They came out to my house and the driver from a company called Alongi Bros turned. Attempted to turn into my driveway and ended up ramming his truck into my roommates car-ripping off the front bumper. After refusing to get his companies insurance information and would only give his managers phone number he apologized. Reconnected a wire that was not connected properly by a previous AAA representative-and left. I was under the impression that since the AAA battery was supposed to be covered under warranty that this call would not be counted as a service call but AAA documented it and told me that I no longer have any service calls left and that I would have to pay out-of-pocket despite the fact that the service call was supposed to be covered under warranty. I will Never work with AAA again. Awful.

He had been given the wrong contact number for me. Towed to West Palm Beach. Then on Monday had to have vehicle towed to dealer. Again called AAA. Wrecker on way. 45 minutes later nothing. This time I called wrecker service. Again AAA had given the wrong contact number. Finally had a wrecker on way. Operators sound half asleep. Call goes off and on like you are on a radio. I just find out AAA of the Carolinas has canceled my membership because I was using it too much! This is laughable. What else was I supposed to do with it? Sit it on a shelf and stare at it? I could see if I was doing something fraudulent, but to be canceled due to usage is insane. Praise God that I haven’t had any breakdown, because apparently this was decided in May and I’m just finding out because I noticed I didn’t receive an email about renewing in my anniversary month of November, and it’s nearly Christmas. But God is good, and He has kept me and my car covered. Minor issues were fixed without needing a tow. But that extra security and comfort that I felt when I had AAA is gone. But that just means God will work even better and stronger.
A representative told me that if AAA wants ME back I will be contacted by invitation to rejoin. Oh really?!? Well, how magnanimous of AAA of the Carolinas. According to my membership card I’ve been a member since 2006. Now up until 2017-18, I have probably used them zero to 1 time. In 2016, I started a new job another city some distance from my home. This required an unexpected demand on my car. So my car started having serious issues in the form of fan belts, radiator, brakes, flat tires, and transmission. I had to have my transmisión rebuilt.
So AAA was called when I needed a tow. You can’t drive on flat tires or a busted radiator and if you can’t go in reverse to even get out of the driveway because your transmission is out then you need a tow. So they canceled ME because I utilized what I was paying for. So buyer beware! Funny, they never complained all the those years I was just giving them money and not utilizing any of their services, not even discounts. But NOW that I am, am a liability. Buyer Beware!

Horrible customer service. Do not buy AAA. They stranded us in Ithaca New York for over three hours in the hot sun with cars and trucks zipping by us. When we finally did get a driver, he told us they could have called him anytime and he would have come out! Imagine how we felt! Exhausted and nearly with heat stroke, being told that it was all completely unnecessary!
Imagine how we felt then, earlier this year, when we received a letter from AAA saying they were cancelling our policy...because we use it too much! Well, that's what you're there for! And that's what we pay the premiums for. If I had more time on my hands, I'd bring a case against them but this company is on its last legs anyway. Ask any mechanic shop how much they love AAA today, as opposed to years ago. AAA pays them next to nothing, so they'd rather not be bothered with it and that's the truth. You shouldn't bother with them either after the way they've treated us. Customers for more than 20 years!!!

Anyways Triple A got mad and kept bugging me not to leave like if they were dictators. Like I had to stay. I was feeling weird like can this really be happening. They're trying to make me stay on their insurance. Really. So what they did to get back at me was file on my credit saying I didn't pay them 125 dollars. Which was a lie because I canceled. And their contract says they give you a grace period and if you don't pay they just cancel and that's it. But they waited a year then filed on my credit saying I didn't pay LIARS. I AM PISSED. I have carried AAA Roadside for 14 years. Previous to moving to the MidWest, we had our home, all vehicles, and all trailers insured with AAA of Southern California. I have continued to carry AAA Emergency Roadside since we travel extensively. I carry AAA Plus, so that if we are out of town there are no issues. We were pulling an empty cargo trailer and it got a flat tire on the Interstate. Cars whizzing by at 70+ mph. No problem, we're covered by AAA, right? First, they put me on hold for more than 10 minutes while they figure out if we have coverage for a tire change on the trailer we are pulling. Then I'm told that in fact we do NOT have coverage, that we would have to carry the AAA PLUS RV in order to qualify.
Again, we insured this SAME trailer through AAA and no one EVER let us know that we have been driving around the country WITHOUT coverage. Had I known I needed to carry an add'l coverage, I would have done so. But for them to just say "Oh, sorry, I know it's 30 degrees and snowing and you're on the side of the freeway, but there's nothing I can do for you...after you have been paying us all of these years and have NEVER called for a service since 2005..." Apparently there is something called Good Sam's that covers road emergencies for trailers and such. I'll be looking into that in future.

I called stranded with a flat tire Friday after Thanksgiving and was told that because my membership expired, it was cancelled. They transferred me to the membership dept. which was closed. I called twice with the same result. The second call I asked them not to transfer me to membership because I was stranded and they were closed, but they transferred me anyway and then the call was dropped. The third call I asked for a supervisor and waited 30 minutes on hold, in 40 degree weather on the side of the road, they don't care.
I told the supervisor I've been a member since 1987 and she told me that my membership was canceled this year and I needed to renew before they would send a truck. There was a time when they would renew by phone regardless of when your account expired but not anymore. I told her the membership dept was closed but that they kept transferring me and she argued with me then said I had to renew online. I told her my phone battery was low and was there any other way. She hung up. When I tried to renew on my dying phone, the screen wouldn't load all the way so I couldn't read what was on the application page. I've been a member over 30 years. Whenever I renew after a brief lapse in payment, I get a new member card with 'member since' the year I just paid, instead of 1987.
I've worked for AAA in roadside service and I know the customer service has gotten very bad since about 20 years ago. They don't care how long you've been a member if you show as canceled in their computer. I ended up using my boyfriend's phone to re-sign up, which was awkward because his phone number has now become part of my account and also the call back number automatically that night, which I can change I know, but I've lost all faith in AAA, they have no customer service anymore.
When I finally got the account going an hour later, while sitting on a dark street late at night, the driver's truck wasn't tracked accurately on the app map, it said he was a minute away but the map showed him miles away. So it was hard to tell where he was or how long it would take. Also, when I asked about a tire place that was open they kept telling me they were all closed, but I found a well known chain store that was open another 2 hours with a quick search online. When the driver did arrive, he was very nice but wasted a lot of time, about an hour, chatting with us while telling us what a busy holiday week it was.
As far as AAA commercials (that are very dated by the way, the same ones from 10+ years ago) they have the highest insurance rates out of all the ones I checked, so their commercials are fake and misleading. Is there no regulation or accounting for false advertising? For a well-known, long established service oriented company, AAA has become useless to me. I could have been mugged or assaulted in the hour I waited in the dark, they only care that your membership money is paid. That is the bottom line. Cancelling and letting everyone I know about my experience. They need to be investigated and audited for false advertising and so we can know if their services have been outsourced, because all signs point to that. AAA is the definition of terrible customer service.

I have had to call Aaa only twice so far this year and both times were an escalation and now has me at the point of cancellation. First time I called I was rudely lectured by John about how I need my membership card to make a call which is not true because you can find my name in the system. Well I guess John didn’t wanna do his job well. I’ll say refused to do is job and treated me as if I was trying to run a scam to get services. I asked for a supervisor to complain and cancelled the service for that time because of how I was treated.
Fast forward to this morning I needed to call because my car wouldn’t stop. After like 100 attempts to get through to the call center I explained to the rep that my vehicle was at the address that my account was under and I had to work so I can be there but I need my car jumped so I can get home from work. Also explained that my boyfriend will be there for the truck. The rep said she couldn’t set the call because the member was not there which is understandable but considering the weather the facts that the lines were busy and I had to get to work I asked for an exception.
After attempting to lecture me I asked to speak to a supervisor. Supervisor Tammy got on the line with an attitude I guess I was interrupting her busy day. And goes on to lecture me about how the service is for the member and that my boyfriend would have to be added for me a member to get service at the address that they have on file as I tried to further explain my situation I was cut off while speaking and rudely chastised as if I am a child about your policies. Aaa I understand your policies and why they are in place however the customer service that exist with your company is why your company will begin to lose business. We have had AAA Plus since 1984 and during that 35 years I have requested AAA Roadside Assistance only a few times. On 2/25/19 I contacted AAA Carolinas because my wife's car wouldn't start. It was parked in our driveway. All Over Towing came to our house and replaced the battery with a new 6-year battery. On average we drive my wife's car two or three times a week and have had no issues. We drove her car 9/21/19 the day before our flight to another country.
Upon returning to North Carolina on 11/5/19 her car wouldn't start. I contacted AAA Carolinas the next day. All Over Trucking showed up. He asked when we last drove the car and I told him that it was about 45 days ago. He charged the battery but an indicator he connected read 342 and should have read 650. I had no idea what that meant so he told me that it would likely not start again after turning the engine off. I said, "Well, it's good that we have a 6-year warranty."
He informed me that the warranty would not apply since we hadn't driven the car in the past 21 days and that it was a AAA policy. I said, "What if I told you it was last week or the week before last." He said they would look up the mileage on her car when the battery was replaced 2/25/19 and compare that with the current mileage and if too few miles were driven then the warranty wouldn't apply either. He told me pretty much every place where I would buy a car battery now has a policy similar to AAA. He then, and get this, wanted to know if I wanted to purchase another 6-year battery from him! Of course I told him no.
I called AAA Carolinas to complain and the person I talked to told me what he told me. I called an Auto Service business here in Greensboro, NC. That person told me they don't have 6-year batteries, however, they do have 5-year Interstate batteries and that the warranty would apply whether we drove the car or not: the first 2 years free replacement; the next 3 years, it would be prorated. They also offered to drive to our house 5 miles away, charge the car battery, then I would drive the car to their business, all at no cost to us. They told me the only issue was with the battery and nothing else. After 35 years, we will NOT be renewing our AAA Plus membership at time of renewal 4/30/2020. And to think AAA's slogan is "Peace of Mind!"

Roadside assistance was my biggest interest since I do have a kind of older vehicle (2010). I did end of having to call a few time for minor instances such as flat tires. My last service call was for a dead battery. When I spoke with the first representative I was informed that my battery could be replaced.
At the time I didn’t have enough money to pay for a battery and I asked if it was possible to be billed for the battery replacement and she said “oh absolutely we can do that”. So I scheduled for a service engineer to bring the battery and install it. He arrived and proceeded to replace the battery but first informed me that it would cost $168. I told him that they said that they would bill me. He said, "That’s impossible. We don’t bill for the batteries." I called and spoke with his supervisor and he rudely said the same thing. I called the toll free number and was put on hold and the rep said that they never bill for batteries.
Ok, by then I’m really heated so I called again and spoke with a supervisor who finalized the fact that they don’t bill. She informed me that she would listen to the original conversation where the young lady misinformed me. She did listen to the recording and heard the rep say what I had told them from the beginning. So I got an embarrassed apology and the tech left me with a dead battery. This was such a bad experience for me. I was misrepresented and informed and no one seemed to care. They are rude and obnoxious on the phone and a really don’t think they care. Horrible experience so I cancelled my membership. Reviews described other AAA members finding the same and prior disputes! Why did they send us here knowing this? I will never trust AAA. The customer service blew me off and was rude.

All four of my tires were slashed and I wanted them to meet me after work. On their advice I called an hour before I was to arrive home to my car, but the tow co was headed there too fast so I had to cancel. I was then advised to order a tow within 45 min of my arrival, I did. This tow was never ordered or dispatched!! I called back twice and was lied to that the tow was coming... Guess what? No text message from AAA!! That’s their signature move!!! So I know no tow was ordered... Thanks AAA for making an awful situation worse. My daughter and I had to remove all 4!

After hitting a deer, AAA left me on a dark mountain road at night. Only flashers, no shoulder, no cell coverage. Told me to call back in the morning. Told me to call for a tow myself and they would give me the numbers. Told me they called tow companies, but found out they didn't until 2.5 hours from my first initial call. Told me to go stay at a hotel and they would pay for it, but a problem was there wasn't a hotel closer than 25 miles. I told them that and they didn't get it. Finally with rudeness, unprofessional comments and behavior with no empathy or apology, I was told to wait another 1 1/2 hour on top of the 2 1/2 hour for a tow driver to take me only 25 miles to spend the night in a town. Then they would take me the rest of the way tomorrow.
They also told me they would cover the costs of the hotel. So, spent the day waiting for the tow driver, missed a day of work, had my dog btw on top of all this, and now they are backing out of the promise that they will pay for the hotel room expenses. It was their fault I had to spend the night!!! It just kept coming..I put in a complaint and was told that AAA will give me a credit in my membership. What crap!!! So be aware, you pay for a service with AAA and they will change their mind in mid stream...some call it fraud!!! I have had the roadside service for over 40 years and the insurance for over 20+. Loyalty is crap to them.
My initial call was at 8 pm. I got to the hotel at 1230 pm. I had 2 hours of sleep with so much adrenaline in my system. Remember dark mountain hwy with no lights on my car..no shoulder and sketchy cell coverage. I could have been killed! I limped my car driving by the strobe light of the flashers for five miles, when I found the only thing around, a fire station, that was still occupied to make the call to AAA.
If you want this kind of unprofessional rude service, then AAA is your company, if you want to be blamed for being in a bad spot on what they call a holiday weekend... Halloween 4 days ago..since when is Halloween a holiday and that should matter? Then again AAA is your company! But if you don't want to be left in a dangerous situation like mine, then get lied to and treated like dirt...then run as fast as you can away from this crap!!! Good luck!!! Oh I also had a complaint to AAA and they said they would give me a $50 credit in my next membership. Really? And still not pay for my hotel..they suck!!

Then not too long after he passed away my Mom passed away as well. Which brings me to the situation at hand, the battery he purchased for the BMW went bad while I was on my way to work so I contacted AAA and told them my situation that my battery was bad my Dad paid over $200 for the battery in 2018. But he had passed away so I had no way to get the information they requested or have him be with the vehicle when they showed up.
So now I'm going to lose my job that I just started, because for the first 90 days you cannot be late or miss any time. Now with me caring for my Mom's house without a job is going to be very difficult all over a battery my Dad bought but he can't verify because God called him and my Mom home. Hi, I purchased a new car 2 months ago and in car dealership I bought AAA insurance for my car. The AAA agent asked me to sign a lot of papers and he told me I have one month time for cancellation. He charged me $666. 3 weeks later I called and canceled my insurance with AAA and asked for return me back the remaining $100 balance because I already paid for one month insurance. But they told me that they took that $100 for premium cancellation fee! I was shocked because nobody told me that after cancellation they will charge me. But my shocks continued when this month I received a bill from them with amount of $400.3 as premium cancellation fee!
I gave them call and agent told me that my cancellation fee is %11!!! And it's on my contract! For sure nobody talked about cancellation fee when I signed contract with AAA agent. He told me, "You don't need to read it. I will explain each page to you." But for sure he didn't told me about that cancellation fee. So I feel they cheated on me and continue to charge me for nothing! I will take them to department of insurance in California, these greedy people in AAA continue to lying to customers and cheating on them on their insurance policies that is unacceptable. Be careful when you want to sign contract with them. Their agents are not honest and they try to rip you off with ridiculous highly expensive insurance and with cheating you about rules and regulation and their policies.

So the battery says it is a premium battery by AAA and includes a Free 3 year replacement. It was purchased in July 2018 so I figured I call AAA and see if I could have the battery warrantied, But the answer is NO!
My mom's fiancé had purchased the battery for her from AAA to put in her vehicle and it worked for about 14 months. He recently passed away, so even though there was a warranty of 36 months and my mother still has the vehicle it was purchased for. AAA (WILL NOT REPLACE THE BATTERY) Because the warranty they say is not transferrable. We have been AAA members for decades and over those decades have rarely used the service. Currently AAA charges me almost $200 a year. In the past 5 years we have used AAA approximately FOUR TIMES. In the last three months we had the need to call for service TWO times. Once for a lock out while on vacation and after three hours we found help elsewhere. At no time did AAA or their subcontractor provider reach out to contact us. We provided GPS coordinates, road location address, phone number and email address. We repeatedly contacted AAA and were always given excuses as to why no contact or service provided in a timely fashion. We ultimately got help elsewhere and called back AAA to cancel the call. I complained to AAA and got a form letter in the mail saying they were sorry. Pathetic response.
Our second call was for a tow that was going to be 2.5 miles from point A to point B. After several hours and numerous calls from us to AAA to find out why every deadline was passing with a no-show, the guy/company that showed up thought he was there for a "jump start". From the time we placed the initial call till the car was towed to its destination.... approximately 5 hours elapsed. I don't know if the call center is that poor or the contractors being hired are that bad, I just know that AAA is not a service that we can depend on. We will now be researching other providers or go with what we can get through our insurance company. Shocking how being a customer for several decades is worth nothing.

First time wasn’t a big deal but the 2nd time was a mess. 8 months pregnant, got stranded in my RV for over 24 hours because this lame association didn’t want to send someone out. I Waited hours for someone to come tow me to a mechanic literally 3.5 miles away. This after talking to multiple supervisors because they miscommunicated what my RV Premium membership capabilities were. Of course NO ONE CAME. And you what they told me when I called again asking when will I get help? They canceled the call-in hours ago because no one was available, so basically they forgot to tell me. Then they Told me to call again in the morning.
I guess it was good that I was in an RV with a bed to sleep. Called at 6am and someone finally came out to me at 9am, but they had such little experience and didn’t know how to tow my RV! So they left and told me they will tell AAA to send another person. Waited 2 more hours and then called again. Can you guess what happened? They forgot to tell me they canceled the call an hour ago because I one had the proper equipment to tow. Such a horrible company. Such a waste of time. Don’t waste your money on this lame association.

It WAS THEN it was told that AAA only tows to a repair services, otherwise there is a $75 fee. No problem... MY HUSBAND PAID THE $75 cash DIRECTLY TO THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER...
Now, we're in need of service today (car wouldn't start) and they're saying they have no record of it being paid and want us to pay ANOTHER $75. I opened a case at the time this occurred, NOW they're saying they have to speak to my husband. In the meantime, I still have to pay another towing service to tow it to the mechanic. I have been a member with AAA for YEARS with limited usage. This is totally unacceptable and we will not be renewing our membership! We have not utilized the maximum benefits of the service and with the limited amt. of usage, a "courtesy/goodwill" offer to waive the $75 for the first time would have been a nice Customer Service move rather than leaving me stranded and having to find another tow service... AAA got my money, but that doesn't seem to matter. I called customer service, and the machine transferred me to a representative for my zip code - right! After talking with the young lady for a few minutes and explaining the problem, she said that I was talking to the wrong person and transferred the call. I was switched to a new representative - through the machine - and she said my account wasn't paid. I gave her the amount paid and date the bank paid the bill. It didn't matter, apparently, and I was told it was my problem.
I asked who I could talk to about the mistake. I was told to contact my bank. Since it's AAA's fault, I wasn't sure why it couldn't be fixed by speaking with someone with the organization. My car battery died at 8:00 PM on a Sunday. I was only able to reach a voice activated system initially. Told them the issue and requested that someone come out with a new battery and replace my old one. Hours later a tow truck showed up and the driver told me he did not replace batteries, but could only jump start the car. I explained to him that I had to leave for work the next day at 6:00 AM and unless I left the car running all night the car would be dead again in the morning. I asked if he could come back in the morning or if I could call him directly if the car would not start.
He said no and that I would have to put in a new service call in the morning. He could not guarantee how long it would take to come out the next day. The car did not start in the morning. When I called the main corporate headquarters the next day I was told they not all areas of the country have 24 hour battery service. My area only had replacement battery service from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. I explained that I left for work earlier than 7:00 AM. I asked if I could make an appointment for an evening service call. I was told it was first come and first serve. So my only viable options was to miss work to have my battery replaced.
I then asked if my my annual fees were the same as other areas of the country that provided the 24 hour battery replacement service. I was told yes. That means I pay the same as others who have more services than me. I am being cheated. Even though I have been a club member for well over 25 years it did not matter. Shame on you AAA, shame on you for taking advantage of your customers. What’s even worse shame on you for hiring people in your customer service department that simply do not care. I just wrote a review for AAA Roadside Assistance for their customer satisfaction survey. However, I am not sure if that review will reach the public. I am such a satisfied customer that I decided to take the time to find a website where my review could be seen publicly. I'm taking my time to do this because the company deserves it and consumers deserve to know my opinion of the service as a member who has benefitted from the roadside assistance program since I started driving. As a 20 year member I believe my review holds substantial weight.
I have had AAA roadside assistance since I began driving. It has been so helpful to me over the past 20 years that I could not imagine being without the service. AAA provides me with a peace of mind. I don't think about or notice it during everyday driving but it is certainly there when something goes wrong on the road. But, more than a solution to the immediate problem, AAA is a phenomenal asset in solving the logistical questions pertaining to how to go about handling bigger problems (i.e. getting a car repair).
AAA customer care is quick to answer, polite, quick and thorough. The service provided on the roadside has always been perfect. Sometimes I have had to wait a bit for help to arrive, but those have normally been at times of heavy traffic volume. A family member has a different roadside service and in comparing our experiences AAA trumps that service in every way. For $74 a year the value is outstanding! I consider it some of my best spent money each year. Again, as a 20 year member and customer, I could not imagine driving without that AAA card in my wallet and the help I need always a phone call away. I am a real-life member of AAA and I have never been anything but satisfied and impressed with the impeccable service provided.

She did leave out the detail of having valid registration. So when Jon from H and R Towing company out of Johnstown Colorado, came to pick up the car, refused the tow, keep in mind this is the SAME EXACT vehicle was towed on June 2019 same condition of registration then, and we call on 10/18/2019 to do the same tow on the same car same addresses just opp sit directions.
4 MONTHS LATER, so once my husband told me Jon was refusing the tow, I called back into customer service requesting a supervisor to talk to and I was given Robert who stated he was a Supervisor and said in quote "That last tow slipped through the cracks" and then he continued to state he would not bend the rule's which I never asked him to. My first call to them kept us on the phone for 20 minutes waiting for a rep to pick up. When they finally did, the call dropped on their end - I called back immediately and instead of waiting on hold again we used the automated message to report our location and we were told they would be there within the hour.
When they didn't show up as expected I called back only to have a rep tell me that someone had come to that location, we were not there so they had left. Which was a complete fabrication because we were literally parked directly behind the car and hadn't moved. They then told me they didn't have a phone number associated with the account so they weren't able to call us??? They didn't show up so why were they trying to call me?The service ID # was 3641 and I spoke with Aaron. I filed a report due to the lie, case #**and they told us they'd have to put in another call to have someone come out and that again it would be an hour.
AGAIN, they didn't show and when I called for the 4th time, spoke with Antone at 6:32 and he was the most UNPROFESSIONAL and rude agent I dealt with - basically saying " what do you want me to do about it" . I requested to speak with a supervisor, Justine, and she wasn't much better but told me they didn't any cars available and it might be another 2 hours. I filed my second complaint, #3291 and then basically started calling around to local towing services only to be told that they had just received a referral from AAA asking if they could service the call so what were the doing for the previous hours that the were unresponsive??
I spoke with ALL ABOUT TOWING AND USA TOWING and both were professional and apologetic for AAA and said they would see what they could do to help me. Finally, AAA called me back and said they had been able to locate a driver - it was ALL ABOUT TOWING - I will never use AAA again - THEY SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN LICENSE PULLED BECAUSE AFTER OUR INCIDENT UPON FURTHER REVIEW WE HEARD SIMILAR STORIES FROM OTHER MEMBERS! He informed me that it should be in my trunk. I proceeded to walk to grab it but he stated "That's ok you don't need it", I allowed the tow truck to tow my vehicle to my residence. Once the tow truck left I didn't like where my vehicle was, so I moved it. Once I moved it I noticed that there was something dragging from the bottom of it. How can AAA run out of drivers in such area?
Talked with a supervisor. Apparently, there is no time limit in the AAA service contract - AAA may come whenever they like! Beware when you consider their membership. You have to wait, for an unlimited, unspecified time. When I kept asking about any time limit or estimated time, same answer - no time limit, no estimate, all drivers are busy, they will call when they have an available driver. When it was nearing the 90 minutes and she had received a text from anyone confirming arrival; I had her call back - and they still had not been able to locate any tow or tire changing service provider. AAA said they would call her back in 2 minutes. I called the local PD to alert them and check on her - the deputy sheriff was wonderful; and my husband left to go assist as well. We were not waiting on a tow any longer.
Over an hour later, my husband arrived to get her and still no return call from AAA. I also called AAA as my husband left, and they said I could either contract with a private tow or wait while they manually attempt to call alternate tow providers on their approved list. Of course I do!!! I would have loved that within 15-20 minutes of my daughter’s initial call. My husband arrived, the deputy had driven back by, spotted and made sure my daughter knew him, and he tried to change the tire but had problems. They left for our home - by the time they arrived home - still no return call from AAA to either of us. I’ve had this service since 1993. It took eight phone calls to AAA and Hertz, and an hour of my time on the phone, to reserve that free one-day car rental - because the AAA agents and the Hertz agents kept passing the buck back and forth to each other (each telling me to talk to the other) - and they used me to “deliver” the buck each time!
First I called AAA to reserve the rental car, but the agent told me to call Hertz. So I called the local Hertz office, in Napa, CA. I gave the Hertz agent all my information, and we arranged all the details, including the type of car and the pick-up place and time. This was my first time using the AAA free car rental option; and I was expecting the Hertz agent to ask me for my AAA membership number to finalize the reservation. But she told me that she could finalize the reservation only after AAA gives its authorization. I asked her if she would contact AAA to request their authorization. But she replied that I had to call AAA, to instruct them to give her their authorization!
So I called AAA again, and asked the agent to call Hertz with the authorization. But the AAA agent told me that Hertz needs to call AAA! So I called Hertz again. And guess what happened? The same runaround started all over again – and again, and again, and again – with the AAA agents and the Hertz agents passing the buck back and forth to each other - and expecting me to be the intermediary, “delivering” the buck back and forth, because they were all too lazy to make the effort to contact each other directly. (Doesn’t this sound like a scene from a TV sit-com that makes fun of lazy bureaucrats? I think it would make a good “Seinfeld” episode).
That day, I had to make three calls to AAA and three calls to Hertz’s Napa office. In addition, I had one very brief conversation with an agent at the Hertz national call center, after a Triple-A agent transferred me there without my asking to be transferred (needless to say, the Hertz national call center agent instructed me to call AAA - who had just transferred me to her! (another sit-com scene!)
Isn’t this the ultimate in laziness? They not only pass the buck, but they expect me to pass it for them! The last of my eight calls was to a Triple-A supervisor, to whom I said plainly: “Take care of this yourself. Do not refer me to someone else!” So she set up a three-way call between me, her and Hertz; and my car rental was arranged in the space of about a minute. Why could none of the other AAA and Hertz agents have done this in the first place?
(2) An example of “New Math”: 52 + 52 + 0 = 350. The best way to describe this issue is to list the events in chronological order: Monday, September 30. A Triple-A tow-truck towed my car to a mechanic; and I arranged a 24-hour free Hertz car rental (by going through the ordeal described above). Later that day, the mechanic told me that he would need at least one more day to complete the repair of my car. So I called Hertz in Napa to extend my car rental by another 24 hours (through Tuesday). The Hertz agent quoted me, and I agreed to, a price of $52 for the additional day.
Tuesday, October 1. The mechanic told me that he would need another extra day to complete the repair. So, again, I called Hertz in Napa to extend my car rental for a third day (through Wednesday), expecting to pay an additional $52. But the Hertz agent told me: “Your total for the three days will be three hundred [and something] dollars”!!!! (I forget the exact amount - think it might have been around $350). How can two days at $52, plus one free day, total over three hundred dollars???? I was not aware that 52+52+0 = 350. Is this an example of “New Math”? I asked the Hertz agent to explain the figures she quoted to me; and she gave me an incomprehensible answer (again – what a great TV sit-com scene this would make!).
[By the way, I cancelled my request to extend the rental to a third day when I heard that crazy price quote.] I wrote a letter of complaint about the above issues to AAA’s CEO, Marshall L. Doney and to Hertz’s CEO, Kathryn Marinello. I will keep you updated and let you know if they respond and the contents of their responses (if any).

I have a membership with AAA for myself and my son. My son recently needed a tow and called AAA. They sent a driver who towed the car and also damaged it in the front in the process. I called AAA and they had me send in pictures and a estimate (over $700.00 damage) which I did on 8/12/2019. Judy (the only helpful person in this situation) told me I would hear from Brian the field manager. It took several attempts just to get a response. Then he met my son in a nearby parking lot to recreate the tow and Brian determined that the tow truck did not do the damage. This was not accurate as the driver knew he did when he towed my son.
I appealed the decision and he said he would inform his supervisor Jim **. I emailed him 3 times starting on 9/24/2019 and it is now 10/8/2019 and Jim has not emailed me back or called me on my cell phone. The service has been horrible and you cannot trust AAA to look out for you when you need them. I will not renew my membership and I will find another service for my family's needs. AAA is great at collecting money and sending junk mail, but unfortunately they don't even stand by long time customers. I would suggest staying away from AAA.

This service is the worst. I broke down on the freeway after work at 10 at night. Took them till 5:30 in the morning to finally tow my car. The second time was 2 hours to come change my tire but the guy refuse to change tire. So he said he can tow it off the freeway and I would have to change my tire. The third time the guy was nice flat tire on the freeway and my jack was broke but still took three hours for the guy to get there. Don't waste your money. On top all that they keep calling me renew and I tell them every time why I will never use them.

I have AAA Roadside Service and had a Bad battery (needing replacement). I called the service phone and told them I needed a new battery. They told me they would send 1 with the truck. The truck arrived with NO NEW battery, and told me they NEVER provide a new battery when the truck got to me. It took me a YEAR to find out, you have to have a PREMIER program to get a new battery.
When you type in AAA Roadside and punch on (Premier Service request) IT DOES NOT say this will get you a new Battery, as opposed to what it says on the "Regular Service" website. I had to specifically keep asking different questions on the Search Engine to get the information you have to have Premier service to get a new battery. You can NOT call and ask the Roadside service people, because they really do NOT KNOW. You HAVE to find out the HARD WAY as I did, and by the time you find out, it is too late to complain! SHAME on AAA Roadside Service! Terrible mistake, Terrible company!

I was a long term member who got in a minor accident that ended up severely impacting my cognitive abilities for over a year. I lost my ability to comprehend reading or speaking over a few words at a time. It was severe and this company fought me with a biased neuropsychological exam and offered me about a thousand dollars even though I had purchased substantial coverage from them. I realized there was no point in buying any coverage from this company if they were going to fight me in the darkest hours of recovery. I dropped AAA and whenever I hear their happier-than-anything ads on television I cringe and change the channel.

My tire blew out at 10:45pm going home from work on the turnpike. I called AAA several minutes later. The lady on the phone was very courteous. Said they would call me back as soon as they find someone to come out. Unfortunately they're having trouble finding someone to come out. It's almost 2 hours later when I received a call that someone will be on the way shortly, by that time a Road Ranger stop by and changed the tire for me. I told the lady on the phone it wasn't necessary anymore. It would've taken me over 2 hours or more waiting for someone to show up. Unacceptable to be left out there stuck that late at night.

My husband and I got a flat tire on the highway in Connecticut, so we called AAA. I told both dispatchers we were going south on 91, 5 miles from exit 17. I was told we would be priority because we were on the highway and they would be there in an hour at THE latest. The link to track the driver didn’t work. An hour later, another dispatcher called and said her driver couldn’t find us even though we were exactly where I told them we were. Apparently, AAA had said we were at exit 17. They asked me to call 911 to pinpoint our location (absurd because I had already told them where we were) and he said he would follow up in 5 minutes to touch base. He never followed up and, 90 minutes into this experience, in our next text update, they told us it would be another 45 minutes before they arrived.

After numerous issues with acquiring home and auto insurance through AAA I thought we finally had it all squared away. Wrong. After renewing our auto insurance on 9/20/2019 (new 6 month insurance started 9/30/2019), AAA sent us new insurance cards. I assumed they had the right date on them and put them in the cars. On 10/1/2019 I take 2 cars in for state inspection. I looked at the new insurance cards I had just received and they all still say expired on 9/30/2019, even though we had signed up and paid for coverage until 3/30/2020. So I called AAA to get new ID cards emailed to me.
Long story short, an hour and a half later, after being transferred literally 20 times and hung up on because they couldn't find my policy, I spoke to AAA in southern California (I live in Pennsylvania and my "club" was mid Atlantic AAA in PA) for the 5th time and after explaining my frustration they were able to email me my ID cards in 4 minutes. This is what I had expected 1.5 hours ago, yet not one of the 2 dozen people I talked to were able to handle this simple request. Pay more, go with another carrier. AAA is the absolute worst hands down period.

I’ve had AAA+ for 7 years. They’ve let me down for the last time. I needed a tow yesterday. Called at 1 pm. After an hour I called again. Was told their tables were acting up, it’ll be another 90 minutes. Well after sitting with my car for over 3 hours, they had no idea when it would be picked up. I ended up getting a ride home. My car finally showed up at 7:55 pm, almost 7 hours after I initially called. Here’s the kicker, when I called today to tell them to cancel my account after my agreement was up, they never even asked why, she just said, “Ok, it’s canceled." Lol. They’ve went down hill terribly!!!

I was with AAA for 15 years. I used them maybe a handful of times and most of the time they took 1-3 hours to get to you. Once they were there, they told you there’s a charge for something. I finally cancelled my policy and because I said WHY I’m leaving them, they charged me a cancellation fee. To then find out that if I told him a different reason the fee would be waived. If you want to go with a company that nickels and dime you and charges 3 times more a year for a membership than others—this is the place for you!

Our family has been with AAA for over 47 years. We have homeowners and auto insurance with them. We have just had our auto insurance rates almost doubled because my wife had a minor single car accident with her car. (AAA cost $2,100.) Their explanation for the major premium increase was that my wife had a speeding ticket in the last year as well. They also increased the premium on my car because she is listed as a driver on it. The repair of her car, a 2018 Camry with 8,500+ miles, was a learning experience as well. You see, even though her car was a little over a year old, if it had more than 15,000 miles AAA would not have authorized OEM parts in its repair.
During our 46 years with the company we have had claims on cars and home (accidents & storm damage). The total of all our premiums paid far exceeds the claims that we have had. When my wife talked with the AAA representative and asked what action she should take he suggested that in the future have the ticket fixed. It will cost us more in the increase premiums than it would have if we had paid for the repair ourselves. Some insurance company.

AAA Southern California Roadside nightmare. I have been a member of AAA for over 35 years. Rarely use roadside services few occasion for battery assistance while in the east coast. As an elderly single woman trusting that AAA roadside would come as advertised so I've been paying the membership even the plus category due to I travel on the road frequently. However, today's AAA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE was so HORRIBLE and UNACCEPTABLE that I have more trust in this AAA. It's certainly not the same company I paid membership for many decades.
I called roadside assistance at around 620 pm due to my car overheated smokes came out of the engine in Sherman Oaks not on the freeway or highway but in front of a professional builfing. Car dealer only less than 2 miles away but when called for advise I was told not to turn on engine fear of fire. So I waited AAA tow truck and waited and waited and waited. Called AAA back almost 7 times till finally almost three (3) hours later passed 9 pm the tow truck showed up. I wasn't on a freeway but in front of bank professional building. But to have me waited 3 hours??? even after I told them I'm a senior and have medical (diabetic)..it didn't matter... How could AAA be allowed to operate this emergency roadside service this way? The supervisor got on the phone. Told me tow truck 0.25 mile away but it finally showed up 1 hour later after I called 4+ times more?? So horrible!! It's fortunate that I didn't get a medical attack due to all stresses.

When I explained that they had essentially charged a dead person for services that they couldn't possibly have used, they responded that this was their policy.

I've been a member of AAA since 1996. On July 20th of this year, my 2001 Civic blew the pipe leading to the water pump leaving me stranded on the roadside with all the antifreeze in my car draining all over the pavement. Immediately called AAA for a tow. This was at 9:45am. Was told by the CSR I spoke to that because of the high heat that day (90 degrees + insanely high humidity) that day that they were running at about an hour delay. I figured fine, I could handle that. Sat until 10:45 at which time there was still no driver and no call to confirm my pick up. Called AAA again only to be informed that it'd be "another 1/2 hour" due to the high demand. Sat until 11:45 with still no driver in sight and no callback from AAA.
Called them again only to be told it would still be another "1/2 hour to 45 minutes". Okay, I have no choice. I'm still sitting there. Finally at noon I call to find out what is going on, only to be told that I'm "next in line". It gets to be 12:30 and finally the tow truck shows up. I'm so relieved, only to be totally gobsmacked the next second when the driver informs me that he was "supposed to be somewhere else two hours ago" and the only reason he answered my call was "no one else wanted to answer the phone". He proceeds to try to talk me into waiting for ANOTHER 1 to 2 hour wait for someone else OR he can flatbed my car and take me 30 miles out of the way back to their shop so he can switch drivers and leave.
At this point it's approx 1:00pm and there was NO WAY I was waiting any more in the heat. Not to mention very bad storms were starting to move thru our area. Needless to say, after going out of the way and then BACK to where I needed to get my car repaired, it was almost 5pm and I was out over $200 for the tow. I hesitated on giving AAA any info, as the replacement driver was a decent guy, but I NEVER want to go thru that again. If someone would ask me for a recommendation for AAA, I'd tell them to think twice. They are NOT as grand as people think they are, as their service providers are a joke. All they have left is the good word of mouth due to their brand name. I personally am looking for other emergency road service providers, 'cause I've had it with AAA.

I’ve subscribed to AAA for about 40 years and have never needed their help until the last two weeks when I actually had to separate car incidents where I could have used AAA‘s help. My daughter's car broke down in page Arizona. I called AAA and they said there were no tow trucks available until the following day and I would have to call back and open up a case then. 36 hours later I ended up using my Hyundai roadside service to finally get a tow truck since AAA failed to be able to procure a tow truck.
Two weeks later I found my car at the airport with a dead battery. I called AAA and although they always start off telling you 45 minutes to get help after about an hour I canceled the service and change the tire myself. Overpromise and under deliver must be their model because they seem to perform this way. After paying for their service for 40 years I wish I could have a better experience than when I finally needed them they weren’t there and I look at it now as a huge waste of money.

I was 4 hours into a long trip to LA when I had to pull off the freeway in Ventura with a flat on a Sunday about 5:30PM, there was no one anywhere around, all the businesses were closed. I called Triple A and was blessed to have Carlos, driver #** from Platinum Tow pull up to help me within 15 minutes! He immediately changed my tire to the spare but I still had 83 more miles to drive on this spare that couldn't be driven on the freeway. Now, this is a man who was probably looking forward to finishing his last call of the day to go home to have Sunday dinner with his family. However Carlos didn't even blink when I told him where I had to go (over 83 miles away), he put my car on the flatbed and said, "Let's get you where you need to go."
Traffic was heavy but Carlos was a gentleman and expert driver the entire way. He kept me entertained with stories and had me laughing and in good spirits despite my unfortunate situation. By the time we got to my destination 2 1/2 hours later Carlos carefully unloaded my car and helped me get my belongings from his truck to my car. So the moral of my situation: DO NOT HESITATE, call Platinum Towing and ask for DRIVER #**, CARLOS! The service couldn't have been better. Thank you Carlos!!

AAA investors, you are investing in the disorganized, deceptive practices of this one-star, Missy-ran AAA disaster! AAA scheduled, but did not provide, my membership-guaranteed service. They initiated a customer relations case to look into their shortcomings. Much like they did not provide the service my membership prepaid for, they did not keep their promise to appraise me of the result of their investigation, led by AAA Director Missy; they investigated their own misdeed and recorded it to their own liking - no rebut opportunity. How accurate could AAA’s reports and statistics be for the investors to rely upon?
In discussing the incident, AAA told me that its contractors are not limited by the AAA policy and are allowed to exercise their own wants. This means that if a dispatched contractor arrives to help a member and makes a demand that a member finds to be invasive or overreaching, then AAA can consider this as a member’s non-compliance and thus a refusal of the service, at which point the contractor can rightfully leave and still get paid.
With each membership renewal bill, the AAA policy (related to the services the membership prepays for) should be enclosed - all conditions should be put forth BEFORE we pay! This still leaves unclear how AAA would be able to provide us with the policies of all of its thousands of contractors, an open-ended random continuum? All of these contractors need to be bound by a uniform AAA policy in order to prevent the exploitation and ambushing of members in a time of distress! AAA, if you want to rely on our membership dues - you have to run a transparent and dependable business!
