Assurant provides vehicle service contracts for new and pre-owned vehicles. Formerly operating as First Extended, Assurant bought out the company in 2018. The company offers five plans and uses an app called Vehicle Care for policyholders to file digital claims, manage their plans and track upcoming vehicle maintenance. Assurant offers plans in all 50 states and even parts of Canada.

I’m have said repeatedly that I’m so glad that I had the extended warranty. All of the repairs were covered, a torque converter AND an engine! The warranty also covered an oxygen sensor. My only frustration was the time it took to get parts - not the fault of the dealership or warranty company, but frustrating just the same

We have had to use this 3 times now so far and so glad we paid for this extra coverage because it is awesome. They really came through for us in a time of need. We went to the dealership and they approved the work and had the car back in 3 days.

I never had to deal with the repairs directly. Newton Nissan took care of all of the important details on my vehicle from the reports to the repairs. I was very pleased on how it was taken care of so quickly. Everything went very smooth and I did not have to do anything... Daryl ** at Newton Nissan took care of everything that needed to be done.

Thank You for help. These small but costly items that suddenly popped up this year were taken care of quickly and painlessly. Between your coverage and the Great service at Lee Johnson Chevrolet this was painless and quick. It does take a couple of days to get your approval but in the end fully taken care of.

I really didn’t need to do anything, my dealership took care of everything and I had my car back in a day once they received the needed parts. The situation was resolved thanks to the warranty. My dealer contacted Assurant and I am very satisfied with the result and my car is back to normal.

The length of time to approve a claim is ridiculous. I was never reimbursed for my car rental. The warranty company only covers $175 when these days it’s double that. I ended up paying for rental $500 out of my own pocket for the rental. It was very inconvenient. I was not allowed to get my car repaired at the dealer off of my choice. I would NEVER get First Extended Warranty again and I certainly would NEVER recommend it to anyone.

Other than Assurant disagreeing with time needed to repair (per GM) the process was good. Because of the disagreement it cost me more out of pocket than what Dealer (GM) said was needed. I do believe if GM has a policy of what it takes to do a job that should be followed.

Check Engine LED on. I made an appointment with Crest as soon as the car began to hesitate while driving. I ended up needing a Purge Valve fixed or replaced. It was covered under warranty. thank you so much for assisting. This isn't the first time my extended warranty was a saver to me. Thank you.

My experience was horrible! I wouldn't recommend this warranty company to anyone and I hope to God that I don't need any more car repairs within the next couple of years. The work performed by the dealer was fine. The problem was getting the work authorized by the warranty company. They were extremely uncooperative and were just NOT willing at all to contact the dealership where I purchased the car in order to facilitate the authorization for the work to be done.
I took the day off from work and played secretary literally all day long calling the dealership and the warranty company back and forth until the dealership closed for the day. Regrettably, I was unable to get my car fixed until about a week later while I worried that the issue would get worse and that my wife & son could possibly get stuck out on the road somewhere while I was at work, unable to help them. I will make sure to never, ever enter an agreement with this warranty company again and I have nothing positive to say about them if I ever speak to anyone who is under agreement with them.

We have had to bring our Keystone Alpine in for repairs to Holiday World, Las Cruces, NM utilizing the extended warranty. The claims were approved. The approval process was the easy part. We did ask dealer to check a couple things for a black tank smell, but they didn’t. We checked them and replaced them at our cost, and yes, it fixed the issue.

Horrible company--wish I could give 0 stars, because my experience was beyond horrible. It took over two weeks to get an approval, then approval did not cover labor for all of the work needed--ended up having to pay $400 extra out of pocket (on top of $200 deductible). Then the kicker was that they said they "maybe" would consider rental reimbursement, and only cover for 2 days after it took them over 3 weeks to make a decision on covering repairs--which meant I was without my vehicle for over 4 weeks. Did not care AT ALL how they inconvenienced me.

Don's Automotive performed a great job in getting my vehicle back in time for our vacation trip to Orange Beach. Truck handled well after the repairs. Will definitely drive back to Don's Automotive for any other repairs. My vehicle was returned back to me in great condition. Had the parts in stock which helped getting my truck back on the Road.

The repair job went well for the most part. But you didn't cover the entire job which I don't understand. Had to pay for bleeding the brake system which is part of any brake job maintenance. This caused me to pay an extra amount out of my pocket. You should have covered the cost of the entire job since I've been paying for years without filing a claim.

Extremely unhappy that I have a bumper to bumper warranty and the exhaust leak wasn’t covered. It should have been covered. Even the warranty department at Chevy said it should have been covered. What is the purpose of having bumper to bumper? So stupid. Extremely dissatisfied. I feel like this should be talked about at the time of purchase. However this was never mentioned to me. I have had other issues and of course they haven’t been covered either. Seems strange to have bumper to bumper and nothing gets covered.

The communication and attention to detail was exceptional, especially due to the pending sale of Westborough Jeep. Service was very attentive and for once, the electrical issue was covered under the GOLD Extended Warranty Plan which I purchase at the end of the lease. It has been for other service and repair issues, thermostat for one, which I was told was NOT covered. I still do not understand why nor at the time was I given any meaningful explanation by anyone. This repair was covered, as it should have been, and Service did a great job!

Had to wait a while to see if the part would be covered by the warranty. When I took my car to get repaired I had to wait a whole day before they even contacted me about what the problem was. I had to go to the shop and inquire about the problem the night before they closed to find out.

This was my second time using the warranty program and I was very satisfied with it. Everyone that I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable. The work was done in a very reasonable amount of time and the fact that they came and picked up my car and brought it back saved me a 100 mile round trip. Being 75 years old this was a great experience! Keep up the great job.

The Service Advisor (her second day on the job) called you and got everything approved. I just had to pay. Almost forgot that I bought this policy when I bought the car. When I paid the car off, a week later my check engine light came on. I remembered I had something in my glove box about an extended warranty, gave it to the service advisor and she took care of the rest.

The truck did something that warned me I needed to get it in for repairs. I was getting ready to go to Mexico and she helped get it fixed right away. Great service and repaired correctly. What more can you ask for? It was nice having a place to take the truck that was honorable.

Coverage was excellent but time to okay the claim and get car fixed way too long. Had to rent a car for over six weeks before repairs were done. All repairs previously were covered immediately and repairs done quickly. The last claim with the engine was dragged out way too long.

Honda representative quickly gave me the outstanding charges of my claim. I told him we purchased warranty. He proceeded to tell me he didn’t see any warranty then asked me where I bought vehicle. Told him about the purchase and then he took a while to get back to me while I waited in the lounge. I’d recommend to ask customer about any warranty coverages before representative starts charging the customer an erroneous amount resulting in an awkward situation. I’d also recommend representative not tell me how much money the dealership lost due to this claim. Perhaps some extra dialogue training would enhance customer service, satisfaction and better surveys.

Rocky Valley RV did a great job diagnosing the issue and the repair. The approval through the warranty folks was completed in just a couple of days. The only disappointment was the initial shipment of parts was damaged. This caused a slight delay on the repair but was outside of Rock Valley's control.

Camper burned to the ground the day I picked it up from the RV station last month. On the 11th or 12th had to a/c replaced and they replaced a fuse for the outside led light strip under the awning it caught on fire-burned light step into. Then burned to the ground 2 hrs later.

Was no trouble at all. Everything went smoothly and the service department handled everything. Tire was going flat due to a piece of metal from the road. The tire was quickly replaced, I was in and out and on my way in no time! This was my first experience with First Extended Warranty and I am very happy that I got a service contract with them.

Engine threw a rod and needed to be replaced, the extended warranty was very timely and covered everything with just a small copay. This experience was a massive relief to us in a time of great stress. We are very grateful for the way we were helped and the service received.

Both wheel bearings were worn and needed to be replaced on our 2018 Subaru Forester. The claim covered their replacement under warranty. This was handled directly with the service provider professionally and efficiently. As near as I can remember all my experiences for this claim were mostly positive. When I first called a tow was arranged and the next morning when it came the driver suggested he try and jump my car which he did and my auto started but he said the battery was bad and l should purchase a new one which I did at an auto supply store but they couldn't install it so I drove to a car repair garage and when they checked my battery said it was bad as was my alternator & suggested I not drive it with the new battery because of damaging it.
When I tried to start it my car would not start so a tow was arranged for the next AM to take it to the dealership. There l was taken care of and my new battery and alternator were installed. During this whole experience I received and made many phone calls to the insurance co. Everyone was very concerned about what was happening and explained what I should do next and kept me informed. Although not an experience I would wish on anybody, with the help of the people at the insurance co. I was able to get through it with my sanity intact. Thanks to all.

The dealership took care of everything for the claim themselves. It was an easy smooth process. I'm glad I didn't have to make any calls myself. All I had to do was schedule my initial maintenance appointment and the dealership let me know that what items were covered and what wasn't.

The parking brake would not disengage properly. I could not drive the truck and was forced to use other transportation. I eventually was able to get it to disengage and took the truck to the dealership. They took it back and inspected it. I had to wait for the proper parts to come in then they had the truck for a little while and repaired both actuators (right and left). It was repaired as would be expected. Was not happy that it happened but was happy I had the extended warranty. Had to pay the deductible but better than paying for the full repair.

I was getting Shift to Park error code on my 2019 Chevy Blazer and the engine would not shut off. I had to back, pull forward numerous times, jiggle the shifting lever before I could get it to shut down. From the beginning the shifting lever never seemed tight. I researched this problem online and found where this has been a common problem on other chevy models from years before 2019. In many cases the dealerships were not honoring the extended warranties because GM didn't know what was causing the problem and would not issue recall on the problem. The buyer was stuck with a big repair bill in some cases multiple times.
California has a Lemon Law Act and many buyers were forced into litigation over this Shift to Park problem. I was very worried I was going to be one of those people, but thankfully it did not turn out like for me. I paid more than 50k for this vehicle and at this time it only has a little over 16000 miles on it. I'm a single widow, I purchased this vehicle for safety and dependability. In one incident I had to drive back home because I couldn't get it to shut down. I was about to call a tow truck for help, but finally it shut off. I called the dealership where I purchased the Blazer ASAP and I was very relieved to know that my extended warranty did in fact cover the repair and the deductible. Now my Blazer drives and feels so much better since it has been repaired and my confidence in Chevy has been restored at this time. I love my Blazer and I once again feel safe driving it.

Everything was great with the exception of having to wait a few weeks to get approval and parts delivered. All that aside, they fulfilled everything in the warranty contract and were quick to send adjusters and get things approved. Took about two and a half weeks total but that's great in comparison to my dealership that was going to be months.

Your service is great. It took care of the bill as promised, minus the copay. I’m satisfied completely. Burns Chevy in Rock hill couldn’t or wouldn’t fix the problem. I took the truck to Wilson Chevy and they fixed it in one day.

Code p0016, p0017 problem with ignition and timing change. My car was in shop until 6/2/2023. Today 6/6/23 engine light came on. Had trouble starting my car with keys from inside building. Car drove to dealership. Will bring back Thursday to fix and check, has problems with filter. Today received text from Hertz saying car wasn't turned in when was sent back on 6/2/2023. Unhappy with most of things. Service manger was very helpful trying to fix problems. Name was Chris.

The overall experience from start to finish went pretty well, the coverage should have covered more IE rotors because of the cost. Brake pads are understandable. That's normal wear and tear. The shop RC automotive did a fantastic job just like they did last time when my truck was in. They can have five stars. The coverage only gets four. Sorry.

Very smooth. Dealership gave me a loaner and only took 24 hours to complete. No issues with the service or warranty. Upsetting however that my pickup needed a steering rack at less than 31,000 miles? Go figure. Unfortunately the truck is 11 years old.

Our Air Conditioner stopped working. I called our extended Warranty Company to mark sure it was under warranty. It Was. We then called Mark’s Mobile RV to come and see what was wrong with it. He said it is unrepairable. Everything went really smoothly with Warranty Company and with Mark. This warranty company is Great.

They replaced a knock sensor and fixed something loose in the steering column. It was something simple and were able to fit me In in between other appointments. Not what else to say but they got it fixed before the weekend when I needed the truck!

Updated on 6/20/2023: The Dealer could not file a claim until they had diagnosed the problem. Once they worked with factory engineers (8 days) and found what they thought was the problem, a claim could be filed. I filed for my refund on the rental and all went smooth. I was reimbursed within several weeks' time.
Original review: Morristown Chevrolet diagnosed with Factory Engineers that Fuse Block and Ground Cable needed to be replaced. To diagnose took 8 days and then a trip back when the parts arrived. Radio still flips screens and changes stations by itself which means another trip back for repairs.

Worst experience with any dealership in my life! First time ever having to use extended warranty insurance! Policy claims 100 deductible and ended up paying 680. Hope I never have to go back to dealership ever again! Paid over 3000 for policy and not sure if I ever will again!

Something was wrong with the transmission, I don't know what was wrong with the transmission. But it wasn't working propertly. Something else wasn't working right either. But they fixed it and it works GREAT! Very happy with the job they did fixing the transmission.

Vehicle displayed very odd behavior. Took it to the Honda dealership and turns out the spool valve was leaking oil into the alternator and both needed replacement. I was disappointed that the timing belt was not covered, but apparently that is a maintenance item due every 100k. Everything else went very well. The technician arranged for all other work and it was covered. I'm very pleased overall.

I did have to wait for a few days for the claim to be approved, and for the part to be ordered, but the new parts made my rear lift tailgate open and close flawlessly. After 4 years of having problems opening and closing it, I was very happy with the results of the repair.

It was taken care of with no issues. I called Bob Johnson and came in the next morning. Bob ** said the tire did not need to be replaced and they removed the screw that was in my tire and patched the hole.

The submitted warranty request was repeatedly denied due to a single line item on a multi item ticket, without explanation and the dealership kept our vehicle for several days while waiting on approval. Once the work was approved we were satisfied but the delay was not necessary.

Thank you for approving my new engine. I just bought this car in May 2022 from the dealership with less than 60,000 miles and the engine goes bad in less than a year of purchase. The bad engine has resulted in severe damage to the catalytic converter in this car. I will never recommend anyone to buy a Kia but I am so grateful for Assurant!

When my truck stalled in middle of road, I had to tow it to GMC dealer. Dealer contacted my First Extended service. It took them four weeks to replace engine on my Truck. I am happy that I got my truck back working properly. Thanks.

The Warranty was great at covering the new engine costs. However, it only covered 5 days of rental car fees.. When it takes 3 months to get an engine from Hyundai, this gets a bit costly for someone who spent much on a warranty to be protected from these financial burdens. However, DM took excellent care of us and helped with this added expense.

Claim was submitted to you Wednesday mid day. Your response time, according to YOUR customer service is 48 hours. No response by Friday COB. Service manager called Monday midday and claim was “still under review”. I called later Monday, and customer service said it was under review. I said that 48 hours was long overdue, and she said, you have 48 hours from the time of the call on Monday - that the clock restarts with each call. So they had until midday Wednesday to respond now. You finally responded at COB Wednesday. I asked to speak to a member of the review team, and your customer service person could not help. All she could do is send an email to “elevate” the problem. I’ll give you 48 hours to respond before deciding next steps.

I was not pleased at all with the time it took to approve the repairs on my vehicle once the repair facility sent the quote to get approved, we were told it would take 24 to 48hrs, it took me to call in multiple times to follow up to speed up the process, it took about 6 days for them to approve the quote and on top of that they did not cover the whole amount so I had to pay out of my own pocket on top of the deductible so my car could get fixed after 2 weeks being in the shop, I had to borrow a vehicle from my sister to drive in the meantime and I was at least hoping they would cut me a check for a rental for the max days they offer, so yes, I was not pleased at all with my first claim, when you pay for a service you expect to get serviced without having to hassle.

Once the situation was figured out you took care of the entire cost and negotiations with the dealer. Figured out the cost for the rental and all of that jazz. Some better communication upfront would have been great to explain the process.

Paid $8,000 for this “bumper to bumper” 2021 travel van warranty. Took it in For four issues… only one was covered. This policy is a joke sold by a high pressure RV dealer. It doesn’t cover even the most basic issues…

I was SUPER excited that my repairs and my loaner vehicle from the dealer were both covered. This was reassuring to me, knowing that the unnecessary expense (which wasn't my fault) was being taken care of. And, since I did need a replacement vehicle while mine was in the shop, it was very comforting to know that I wasn't responsible for the cost of that.
My service advisor did give me one peculiar update that she was still waiting on my issue to be handled by a senior claim associate. Apparently it had to be escalated, which felt odd to me and likely meant the process took a bit longer. But, that was about the only 'bad' thing. The dealership worked directly with you guys and I didn't have to do anything. Very comforting. :)

Very satisfied with experience, only issue I have is my local Ram dealer won’t honor 3rd party extended warranty since they said it was difficult getting paid but so far 3 claims with Assurant have been hassle free, being disabled and caring for my 83 year old Mom it’s been a blessing to not worry about keeping my truck on the road.

Was a vac line that had melted. The only problem was getting the place where I live to fix it. I had bought the truck in another town less than 100 miles away and was told I had to get it fix there. In the end, was able to get it fix where I live.

I purchased a used Cadillac from a Kia dealer and bought your warranty. They could not perform the repairs and wanted me to go to their Chevy dealer 20 miles away. I refused to do so and asked that repairs be done by a local repair shop. Your company refused until I pressured the Kia dealer and they then agreed to see if this could happen. Between the Kia dealer and local Chevy dealer, the repairs were authorized. Also, before this happened I spent ~$400 of my own money for a repair at this same dealer. How do I file a claim to be reimbursed?

I was disappointed in the time that it took to approve the repairs. I had to rent a car while waiting for your company to approve the repairs. I was also very disappointed that you did not cover the fuel pump issue, which is an ongoing problem, and I will probably be stuck on the side of the road in the near future. I have used my warranty a few weeks ago. My car really needed a few things done and now it runs like new. I thank goodness for my warranty. I was treated very nice from Spitzer. Todd took good care of us and we are currently waiting on a part. He will call when it comes in and get me in. They treat us very nice at Spitzer and I am thankful for my warranty.

This is the second time the jeep was in for the same repair. Only one side is done at a time resulting in uneven wear. This is going to continue to happen as long as only one side is replaced at a time until the motor finally gives out... Repair both sides at the same time will reduce the number of claims being submitted for the same issue.

The vehicle had been taken to the dealership twice to duplicate an issue. I have paid 2 deductibles and paid for a rental car, For the same issue that wasn't repaired. I was loaned an electric vehicle that had no miles left on it and no cable in the compartment, It was found that the transmission had failed and a total replacement was done, the vehicle still shakes at idle as if it hasn't had a recalibration..
During the dispute I have also paid for motor mounts out of pocket... I was also told by the finance manager that when purchasing the vehicle the amount of money I paid should have been the full coverage warranty and that he would upgrade me to that.. I have yet to hear back from him or receive a copy of the upgraded service contract which I paid over $3500 for at the time of vehicle purchase... Also no one has reached out to me to see if the problem has been resolved, but they Have Taken the time to sent promotions to purchase a new vehicle...

The Buick I purchased 2 months prior kept dying. It ended up being bad engine bearings. Not only did Queen City replace the motor but has done an excellent job of maintaining and checking the work done! They are friendly and informative!

We were happy with the repair however not the part that you all would not cover reprogramming of my mirrors that are wacky. We have an auto setting and when the button is used it moves the mirrors in wrong locations. This seems electrical to me but you all wouldn’t cover it.

Experience was great, I scheduled an appointment, took the vehicle in for repair, and they provided a vehicle loaner. When my vehicle was ready, they called me and I was on my foe pickup. As the advisor was closing out the claim. He mentioned that he had to call Assurant, for approval on something else they found, and without any problem it was approved. Thank you Assurant.

I had a oil pan seal go out which the extended warranty told me it would cover for the repairs which took over a month. Cost $4200.00. You covered $3700.00 while under warranty. I will be buying many future extended warranties just not your company’s. I’m still upset that the dealership talked me out of what I wanted into yours.

The windshield wipers stopped working, I brought the jeep to my dealer. They ascertained the control module was damaged and needed replacement, it would have cost over $1500 in parts and labor. My warranty covered all of it with no Hassle.

Dealership has had my car in 3-4 times to repair the break problem involving the "auto hold" feature. They've replaced one caliper the 1st time, a wire harness the 2nd time, and now they've had the car 14 days waiting for another wiring harness to be delivered to their shop. Of course each time for repair they had already had my car for the full day to diagnose and order the parts prior to getting the part and scheduling an appointment. So the car has been at the shop for 6-8 full days - all day. I'm having problems with communications as the service department is not returning my calls. Last I was told the part was going to be "released to ship" last Friday 2/17/23. I left 2 voice mails for Jose and one verbal request to one of his associates.

Incredibly happy with the service received. After my engine essentially blew up, my extended warranty covered the entire cost of a new engine. Very easy process. I provided copies of my service history to the dealership (for inspector) and approval was received, on the spot. In addition to covering the engine replacement, my warranty also covered all rental car costs. I would DEFINITELY purchase coverage again when I purchase my next car. Worth every penny!!!

When we were sold the Insurance coverage we we were told that it covered parts associated with the engine. It would be helpful if they provided the part #s that are actually covered. The part that failed on our Mercedes C class was not covered and it cost us $3,000 out of pocket. Insurance did not help.

My truck has had to go into service at Texas Auto on HWY 3 multiple times. Simple things, but they keep messing it up over and over and over again. Send it back to me, with the same issues. Meanwhile, having it for months on in at a time. They have the most incompetent mechanics, they literally hire people with zero experience. They cut wires, that could of lead to a travesty, and only way we knew, was my son went to pick it up, and looked under the hood… There’s not enough discs to tell you the horrific experiences we’ve had there over the years. The only reason we went back each time was that we were told if it was going in for work previously done by that shop, we couldn’t take it elsewhere! I honestly have a legit lawsuit, but I rather be forever done with them!

Melesa ** was amazing. She was able to help me and get me my reimbursement. The problem was when Cummins Atlanta called for payment whoever they spoke with was not going to send the payment to them until after business hours. Therefore we had to pay for the repairs before they would release my coach. I could not answer the questions asked about repairs and parts and did not get all of the reimbursement. All of your employees should take a lesson from Melesa. Again, she made my experience good.

After 4 days with no approval from the adjuster, the dealer moved forward with the repair anyway. The dealer was very sensitive to the fact that I needed this truck operational - the insurance company bureaucracy was not. All paperwork was filed correctly and expeditiously. I even called the insurance company. They standing to me that the claim was waiting for a response from the dealer - this was not true.

Quality of repairs and customer service was unacceptable.
1. Couldn’t locate trailer. Had to stop a tech (that was more than helpful) to assist because the office didn’t assist
2. Repairs not complete. Forgot to silicone everything, found newly broken trim, and damaged tongue Jack footing. Had to stay an extra 2 hours for repairs.
3. Trailer was “washed” but since they left it in the dirt lot it was dirtier than when it was dropped off.
The only positive to this trip was the tech who assisted me. I wish I remember his name because he deserves recognition.

My car has been successfully fixed. The service location was very professional. First Extended paid for the repairs but the service location charged me an extra $40 for "supplies." I understood my deductible $100 but I ultimately paid $140. The extra $40 was not on my bill but was included in the total. Is this an extra charge by the service location?

Your acceptable labor rate needs to be adjusted for what repair facilities are currently charging. My claim did not cover the labor that was charged for the repair. I called other repair facilities in my area and the going rate is around $200 per hour.

After 3 weeks of our car being at the dealership, there is still no resolution. I bought a extended warranty at the time of purchase which was the comprehensive plan that covers basically everything. Was told it would be 48 hours before advisor would come and inspect car at dealership, it took 7 days for them to come to then deny our claim. When our contract states the struts are covered. This 3rd party advisor/inspector basically said they're not covered and he couldn't repeat the issue and denied. The mechanics were surprised when it clearly is a safety issue and it worn out 2 struts and the steering knuckle; which is uncommon.
Prior to now, the struts have been an issue from day one. Dealership under warranty had their hands on it twice for tightening and repairs to the struts and once repaired through the extended warranty, but now saying they won't cover. The damage is now worse and has cause alignment issues, ate through a new set of tires. We've gone round and round for the past week and getting nowhere with First Extended Service Corp. They hide behind what the advisor say (3rd party) they send out to inspect and then won't share with you why your claim is being denied.
We've called to ask to speak to supervisors and they won't connect us to anyone. They take good notes and repeat it when you talk with someone else, but nothing is getting handled and state the inspector has declined. We went the route in the phone prompts saying we were the dealership and we got a gentleman by the name Ryan who gave us hope and advised that he clearly sees that we have full coverage with our plan and this should be a non-issue from all the notes, photos that are on file from the 3rd party advisor/inspector. He asked for us to call our service rider to have him send a picture of the struts, cause if it's their MacPherson Struts it would be fully covered, and it clearly states that in our policy.
Our service rider took the photo, called the warranty company and spoke to someone else and they still said this didn't matter and that it's still remains denied. We need HELP getting off this hamster wheel!!! We need someone to speak with from First Extended Service Corp. From not being told why the denial, can't speak with anyone, getting false hope. This company just doesn't seem to care.

I’ve used multiple extended warranty companies in the past, and I have to say the experience I had on the above claim was not good. For something as simple as a water pump, it should have been approved immediately according to my previous experience, as well as the feedback from the service manager at Freeman GMC. I spoke directly to Orr GMC who I purchased the vehicle and extended warranty from, and advised them that selling your extended warranty program is a direct reflection on them and they need to look into the poor service. I now know that when I buy extended warranty services on future vehicles, it will not be through Assurant/Portfolio Services. As I said, I’ve purchased several new vehicles in the past with extended warranty, but never had ANY issues until I dealt with you. For other dealerships to say, this is the worst warranty company besides Car Shield, speaks volumes on how things should change.

Reporting the claim was great. Getting the tie back approved was great and no problem. The time trying to get the repairs authorized was awful. I had to get the dealership involved that allowed the tie back because we kept get different answers and feedback. He saw what me and the shop meant when they lied to him about our contact. We had in writing, email, and phone records the numerous times we tried to get approval. After getting the dealership I purchased it from involved the shop was paid in literally 24 hours. Until that point it had taken 30 days almost and we had no ending in sight. I appreciate Burns Chevrolet standing behind their customer and fighting on our behalf or we may not have been finished yet. And the people telling me that they couldn't talk to me and I am who purchased the warranty for $2800 is absurd. Do better.

My car gave me a warning about a charging problem. It died on my way there and my power steering stopped also. The service department got right to work when my car got there from the tow truck. They found out that the batteries, alternator, and the power steering had to be repaired. It was too late in the day to do anything more so they put me in a loaner car and sent me home. It took a week to get all the parts and fix everything, but everything is perfect now.

I've had this Jeep for one year. I purchased the extended warranty at Midstate Auto Group in Auburn, MA and was told it covered everything besides normal wear and tear repairs/expenses. The radiator needed replacement and it was not covered because it was not attached to the engine block which is absolutely ridiculous. Never purchasing a warranty through Assurant again.

The dealer troubleshot the check engine light. It turned out to be the thermostat was stuck open and the engine was running too cool. The dealership submitted it to First Extended Service Corporation to ensure it was covered since it was beyond the dealers warranty period. The dealer got back to me within an hour saying the claim was covered and my vehicle would be ready on the following Monday. So, Friday afternoon to Monday morning I felt was a pretty decent turn around time. I happily paid the deductible and was on my way within a day.

‘Service engine light’ was coming on, car then vibrated. Coils were replaced by Shorkey of North Huntingdon, PA. My warranty covered everything, and it’s been running great ever since. The techs were so thorough! Extended coverage was the way to go.

After many months of trying to identify the problem, they finally fixed the problem with a steering sensor. They were very friendly and courteous. The service manager at Gene ** called Assurant but told me that it would be probably a long wait because the warranty people usually keep them on hold for a long time. This was NOT the case. Assurant answered the phone and got my claim approved right away and I was able to get my claim repair handled that same day. I m so glad that I have Assurant as my warranty company.

Engine light warning appeared on my JEEP Wrangler. Street Toyota conducted a successful investigation to determine the cause. There were delays in receiving needed parts. The delay was no fault of the service provider. Repairs were made to a timing chain after approvals and parts were obtained. All work was completed satisfactorily..

Water Heater (natural gas). The inlet and outlet have tilted in the tank causing the unions to leak and apply pressure on the incoming and outgoing water lines. This has also caused damage to the exhaust and raised it off the unit.

I was glad I had the coverage, it was nice to have coverage. The dealer helped me fine a claim and it was great. All I had to pay was the deductible and a couple more dollars to get a horrible problem fixed. It was about 5 days until I could get to the dealer so when they said it was covered by warranty and I didn't have that much out of pocket, I was very excited.

I started this claim back in August. It took several attempts and poor communication for an inspector to come out. After months of going back and forth, the repairs finally got approved. The mechanic took a week to do the repairs and the problem still remains the same. I am unable to transfer the claim elsewhere due to the mechanic being paid and the mechanic is claiming they've done all that they can do. The whole ordeal was very frustrating and overwhelming. I had to repeatedly take off of work, lost wages, for the result to be my car still isn't fixed.

Our GM dealer handled everything with the claims on our behalf, including explaining their diagnostics, time-frames and costs when a repair was questioned, which we would have had a hard time doing. I got a new transmission in my 2013 Nissan Juke. Quality Transmission installed and did an awesome job. With my extended warranty I only had to pay 100 dollars. I’m so happy I had the plan. The bill was over 5,000 dollars and I didn’t have that kind of money to fix it. I probably wouldn’t of had it fixed if I didn’t have the warranty.

Horrible. Don’t buy it. It’s a joke. If you want a rental, apparently it’s a reimbursement program. But I wouldn’t know that because no one would call me about it. I haven’t had my vehicle in a month. Now at the end of all this, the misfire and coolant leak isn’t going to be covered. Mind you the coolant leak wasn’t caused my me. It was broken from the first shop that had it. It’s a waste of time and money.

The amount of wait time that it took the dealership, Family Ford of Netcong to get approval from your company before starting work, along with the wait time of them being paid was unacceptable. This delay in wait time meant that I was without a vehicle for 4 weeks. Again, this is unacceptable. Additionally, the truck is back in the shop, and again the dealership is waiting on approval from your company before repairing. The timeline on this fix is now at a week and counting. And still no vehicle.

Overall the experience was good. It took quite a long time to get the repair approved, but once that was accomplished things went very well. I was disappointed that the dealership who sold me the policy had to negotiate the repair cost and was going to pass on any overage cost to me. As it worked out that didn't happen, but I was originally upset at the possibility.

The service department at Bournes Auto was amazing. They took care of the repair I brought my car in for and fix an issue I wasn't aware of. Jeff the service manager was great, some of the work need was still covered under the manufacturer's warranty, he offered to schedule the appointment and get the vehicle to Jeep for me.
My only issue with the service was related to the service contract. The contract requires I bring the vehicle to the shop it was purchased at because it's within the specified distance. While I was more than happy with the service department, the first appointment they had was two weeks out and my vehicle wasn't running. Going two weeks without a vehicle was a huge inconvenience and could have been avoided if the service contract didn't limit the ability to bring it to another repair shop.

I had to file my first extended warranty claim on my 2019 Ford 150. The first thing that was very disappointing was the call center. I called and they would not tow my vehicle to the dealership. I was told they would only tow it to the dealership that was the nearest to my location. When I purchased the extended warranty I was told that I was in 50 miles of my purchasing dealership it would be towed there. I called the dealership and was reassured that it would be towed there. I again called the call center and was told it would be $250. I HAD TO PAY FOR IT TO BE TOWED. Once at the dealership it took 3 weeks for the extended warranty company to decide if they would cover the repair. I would not purchase this warranty from this company again.

I didn’t like that I wasn’t made aware at the time of warranty purchase that I would have to use the dealership for repairs. I have a shop that I use, and that I trust yet I’m forced to go to a dealership where my vehicle might sit for days before actually being worked on. Warranty doesn’t pay for rental until they confirm and authorize repairs so what am I suppose to do in the meantime while my vehicle sits in a lot for days or even weeks? I think paying as much as I did for a warranty I should be able to use a shop of my choice.

We had problems with the leveling system, as the right front jack was not retracting, so took it to New Generation RV for service. This was the first claim they had to make as they are a new Torque dealer, so the claim process took a little longer than expected. The claim was approved in about 2 weeks. Once the claim was approved the repairs were completed within a week.

For accuracy, the claim was submitted on the Sept 13th and it wasnt even looked at until the 19th and approved on the 20th. I called every day sometimes 3 times a day, the dealer called every day, and I had the selling dealer helping any way they could. Customer support could not help in any way. All they could do was tell me it's in review. Day after day there was no claims adjuster looking at it. I am now looking to sell my car because I don't want another experience like that again.

I was very frustrated that customer service initially didn’t cover the entire cost of fixing the water leak below the shower. Nowhere in our contract states a limited amount of time to repair an issue. Some problems are just harder to fix than others. Especially water leaks, which can be very hard to find. I was very disappointed it took me 15 minutes of discussing the topic with your customer service rep. However in the end, he came to agree to pay for to fix the problem. It just doesn’t need to be that hard.

Everything was paid for without any issues. I took my vehicle was taken to Ourismen Chevrolet in Baltimore. The vehicle was examined and the dealership was provided with my warranty information.... My vehicle had to be repaired twice so two claims had to be made to complete the repairs, and everything was handled.

I had a mechanical issue with my vehicle that pop up out f the blue. I went and had the claim processed with the auto shop. So the auto shop was great and the claim was paid properly. The thing I am dissatisfied was the fact I was told I only had to pay a $100 deductible but I ended up having to pay more due to the fact that the parts needed were only reimbursed on WA rates not on AK rates so I ended up having to pay more than the deductible to get the issue fixed.

I had to do some research to actually find out Assurant was covering contract....Once done that I could open an account online to see my coverages. The selling dealer at the time did not furnish enough information to make that possible. I had to call the phone number on my card to get all the info. It would be nice if my tow bill would be reimbursed since the vehicle was unsafe for me at 65 years old to drive without power steering. $170.00 plus tax.

When I would put the car in Park. An error would show on the console as "Shift to Park". I would turn the car on and off and put the car in Park until the error would no longer show on the console. Family Motors Bakersfield. CA fixed the issue and I feel safe and secure while driving my 2017 Chevrolet Malibu.

Vehicle was taken into shop due to no cooling when the a/c was turned on. My Honda only had 27,717 miles and they found that the front seal compressor was leaking & had saturated both the clutch and coil which resulted in the replacement of the assembly. I was very glad to have this extended warranty agreement but upset that something so major occurred so early in our ownership of the vehicle.

Had no problem with my warranty but the issue lied with Stuckey GMC not fixing properly several times and the issue returned!! Seems to be fixed after my most recent repair... but we shall see I will go back there for the same issue... but anything new I think I will seek a new repair service.

Your warranty service never notified me directly what was going on and took a couple of weeks for my mechanic to get the service approved and I had to call several times to talk to the warranty dept as well. Except for this survey they did not contact me at all regarding what was happening. It was a fiasco and they didn't even cover the whole AMT or the AMT of the rental car the dealership gave me while the car was being serviced. Both my mechanic and I were frustrated and disappointed. I am looking into different warranty services. They need better customer service and communication with the client who is paying for the warranty.

I’m not sure if it took Dons Wholesale a while to diagnose my truck or if it took warranty a while to complete the claim. But overall it took almost 3 weeks to get my truck back. Either way, it was worth the wait. Y’all completely replaced my transmission and torque converter along with my front wheel bearings. My truck rides and drives seamlessly now. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you so much, I’ve only had the truck 6 months, and when the transmission started giving me problems I was very worried that I had made a mistake buying that truck. But with the repairs y’all approved, I am much more confident in my purchase. Most places would have only approved a repair. When I was told y’all completely replaced the transmission with a new one I was ecstatic! Thank you so much! And I will make sure to ask for y’all as my warranty company in the future on any vehicle purchases I make! I’m very satisfied with y’all and your service to us as customers!!!

We purchased the Exclusionary Policy with the used vehicle which covers the air conditioning system. Our experience with the repair facility was excellent. They were very competent and straightforward with us. We chose an Assurant authorized Ford dealership because the vehicle is fairly new, and wanted to make sure the repair shop had all the proper equipment, since the refrigerant is the new type (R1234YF).
According to Ford's written protocol, they will not guarantee the service work when replacement of the defective air conditioning compressor is required, without replacing a number of other components due to contamination leading to a repeat failure. We confirmed this with another Ford dealer. The total service work was approximately $3,800, of which Assurant only paid $1,400. We paid the balance of $2,400 out of pocket. The repair shop, the Ford dealer from whom purchased the vehicle (and policy), and I spent several hours on calls with Assurant's adjusters and helpline, trying to explain the situation, but there was never a resolution other than the original $1,400 amount. Between the policy purchase price and the first claim, we are out over $5,000

The most horrible experience having my dealership fight to get my warranty cover to repair my truck took four weeks. I would never buy another extended warranty from this company. Can you purchase a warranty for thousands of dollars you don’t expect somewhere in a fine print that says things that are not covered. The stupidest thing I ever heard. Should be covered bumper-to-bumper just like the original warranty. But anyway I will shop for a new truck with a new warranty company in the future

It took over a month in a half to approve claim. Meanwhile, I was out of a car the entire time. Then I had to pay $1700 out of pocket because you wouldn’t pay the dealership their labor fees. Terrible experience

Assurant approved my claim for car air condition issue. It was running hot. I did not have any hassle with the Selma ** getting me approved. They provide a car while my SUV was getting repaired. I appreciate the timeliness and cost efficient.

The warranty process was relatively easy and straightforward. My water heater issue was fixed as the representative at Horizon suggested it would. However, the siphoning of my fresh water tank was not covered under warranty. I still disagree with that decision as this is a manufacturer's defect. The overflow tubes are too far down into the tank and this permits the siphoning of approximately 20 gallons of a 47 gallon fresh water tank. Overall it was a decent experience and I'm glad to have the warranty.

Nissan said they change a part. Part was not replaced and I had to pay $600 to replace it as the car was inoperable. I called and they refuse to acknowledge. I will never get any useless warranty ever again.
