Assurant provides vehicle service contracts for new and pre-owned vehicles. Formerly operating as First Extended, Assurant bought out the company in 2018. The company offers five plans and uses an app called Vehicle Care for policyholders to file digital claims, manage their plans and track upcoming vehicle maintenance. Assurant offers plans in all 50 states and even parts of Canada.

When our airbag light kept comign on, it was worrisome. The Kia dealership discovered a few more things when we gave them the code and put in for our warranty. IT was a quick process and had us back on the road within 2 weeks. The shop manager took personal care to make sure that everything was taken care of since we had to return, he even let us have a loaner for our trip.

Wondering why this claim was denied? As it clearly states in my contract (#**) under BRAKES that hard lines are covered under the comprehensive plan I have selected for my vehicle. I would like an explanation to understand why I did not receive compensation for this repair. Please see attached screenshot where I have highlighted where it states this in the contract. Thanks.

We not only experienced an extraneous amount of time without our vehicle due to multiple adjuster visits to inspect work recommended for the repair - apparently these visits were needed to approve the work - our vehicle was in the shop for over 5 weeks as a result - with no loaner provided, a serious inconvenience. In addition, due to your limitations on the repair work allowed - our vehicle is now back in the shop for MORE EXTENSIVE repairs needed as a result of you not approving all the work that should have been done. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED - COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

Was fully approved and quickly. Did not ask for additional documentation even though the amount of work was extensive. Warranty paid for itself with this one use. I didn't have to do anything just took the car to the shop. Would recommend to a friend that you get this with a used car.

I took it in for a shake while driving at highway speed and they changed what they changed. Shake is still there but I do notice the steering wheel shakes a lot more now. Simmons Rockwell is a very great place to have work on your vehicle. They are kind, courteous and most of all prompt. Always a pleasure when having to go in to have my vehicle looked at.

Midas did a fantastic job, repairs the oil cooler on my van and ensuring that not only was it done correctly, but was proactive in working to have all the parts there before the appointment and ensuring the appointment went flawlessly which it did. I would highly recommend Midas for any vehicle repair and am so thankful for my warranty I purchased when I bought my van last year.

When the transmission failed on the Hyundai Tucson I had only owned for 8 months, I was extremely thankful to have the warranty. However, the first person I spoke with at Assurant told me I could choose a mechanic. I paid for a diagnostic, then found out from another Assurant agent that my car had to be repaired at the dealership. The dealership had my car for about a month, and the warranty only covered 3 days of my month-long car rental. I'm glad to have my car repaired, but it was not a seamless or painless process.

I have issue with my Honda Odyssey which was camera inside dashboard. I called my warranty before I took it to dealership. They made process very easy and smoothly! They even tell me which dealership for me to bring in my van to be fixed. I don’t have to worry about anything because they took care of everything so I was very satisfied!

I called before bringing in my Jeep to get fixed. Just to verify deductible and coverage. The representative was knowledgeable and very helpful. The only downside was the dealership not getting the right part fixed. The warranty was definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend getting a warranty through this company.

Insurance seems to cover good, the downfall is you have to bring it to where you purchase the vehicle which is not familiar with GMC so after a few days they transferred it to Rainbow GMC. Which a few more days later it was repaired then I was told because it was sent there I would have some shop fees and they can’t release my car until payment is received from warranty insurance. I stayed there 5 hours waiting on them to submit payment. I finally called in and was taken care of and they emailed payment.

I’ve waited over 3 weeks in review for reimbursement for an approved repair that was approved by my dealer AND you! You can stall if you want, but this is going to the FTC as a formal complaint and into litigation. I’ve got plenty of time and money to fight.

This is the 2nd time using the warranty -- this experience was WAY better than previous experience. 1st experience it took over a week before someone went to the dealership and approved the repair. This time around, that was completed in 1 day. Appreciate the faster turnaround time in getting the repair that was going to be covered approved. Got my car back sooner than expected.

I was sold an extended warranty package by a Ram dealership. I elected this coverage due to the number of electronic parts, chips, and firmware used to run engines. It is no longer possible for me to self diagnose issues based on basic engine knowledge. My problem diagnosis by the Ram dealership was a malfunctioning thermostat. That isn’t a difficult fix and one that the dealership was able to complete while I waited. I had paid a diagnosis fee in an earlier visit to service. Because the code was not active at the time (it self corrected while driving), the repair couldn’t be covered by the warranty. I was forced to wait and see if the error was an anomaly or a recurring problem.
I didn’t expect to learn at the end of the repair that the warranty had allocated hours associated with each repair and that dealership allocations may be different. The end result required me to pay for the difference in the 2 times. That cost me more than $200. My conclusion is that this isn’t a true extended warranty. It is more like an insurance policy with deductibles and insurance write-downs. It seems to have been inspired by the way US health insurance operates. In my opinion, that is not a good operational model. It is certainly not transparent and puts the customer in the middle where they are not likely to have knowledge to participate. It isn’t what I thought I was buying. And there are well defined tactics to ease the burden on the consumer.

Sensor was broke and steps not working. I look at steps after I got it back and didn't find any corrosion on them on why the claim was denied. Sensor was told that it was overloaded but I only pull a 3000 lbs. trailer and then a 2500 lbs. SXS in it truck is rated at 8900 so not sure why it was also denied

Jack Auto leveling system would go into "FAILURE" mode, with any attempt to use it. Had to resort to the individual jack controls inside the RV for the next two trips. Upon scheduling an appointment with RV Central in Mt. Pleasant MI, the problem was identified in the right rear jack, it was replaced, and the problem was resolved in less than a week. We also took this opportunity to have all the jacks lubricated.

Took two visits to the dealer for repairs to be completed, was without a vehicle for over 2 weeks total. Was only charged for the deductible. Still waiting for rental reimbursement. No issues with the warranty, just the dealer for the amount of time it took for the repair and that it took two times for the issue to be resolved.

When I purchased the 2016 Ram 1500 it had a tick in the engine. The dealer said no worries we will sell you a warranty. Your company only authorized the replacement of the lifters. Well, no oil analysis was conducted, and the cams were worn. So, metal filings went through the engine, and due to worn cames the lifters again failed and compression was lost.
A new engine was recommended by the service agent. Instead of a new engine, your company only authorized a used engine. Instead of a rebuilt and inspected used engine, one was salvaged from a wrecked vehicle, the replaced engine was old, the manifold was gummed up and the intake valve sensor needed replaced so the dealership again filed a 3rd claim that cost your company money. So, had you replaced the engine the 1st time with a quality product this would never had happened, you would have saved money, and kept a customer. You lost my respect and my business for life.

I purchased the warranty, they don't cover everything, even though every part that's needs to be replaced, does can be replaced. I took it to 3 different mechanics, however nobody wanted to touch it because they all said they have trouble getting the money from them, so I'm forced to take it to the dealership, however they use OEM parts, and the warranty company tells you the dealership charges too much why did you take it there. When I tell them nobody wants to work with your company is because they don't get the money, they don't really have anything to say but tell the dealership not to charge too much. I have to pay a total close to 1300 when I should be just paying the deductible. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Waste of money, you're better off just paying yourself. Never purchase from anything affiliated here.

I was very dissatisfied. The wait for approval was too long which causes a delay in getting my Kia fixed and returned. After waiting for approval, it took a couple of days to get part in. And I wasn't updated by warranty company of process along the journey. It would be helpful to get updates and get a final invoice to know cost and what was paid.

When my car went in to the shop, Orleans Ford ended up having my car for a month and a half! That’s ridiculous. The ok for this claim took an obnoxious amount of time. There was no reason for this delay. Thank goodness I was given a rental by them. Can’t even imagine if I was carless that long.

I am very satisfied with the service that my car warranty insurer gave me, they did a very good job. They also gave me a new box which can transport us without any problem. They paid for all the services, the company is very good, I highly recommend it. I will try to have the same warranty company when I buy another new car.

The A/C on my 4-year old Honda Pilot stopped working in June 2024. I scheduled an appointment with the dealership. The dealer's diagnostic work showed an internal failure of the A/C compressor. Fortunately, I had purchased Assurant extended warranty which covered about 75% of the my repair bill. Unfortunately, Assurant refused to cover the required coolant. Consequently, instead of paying just the $100 Assurant deductible, I ended up paying just over $500.

Although we needed a loaner car for nearly a week, we were very pleased with the repair process. I do understand why you required us to go to a dealer for the repair (accountability?), it was difficult because we live about two hours away. That obviously meant a full half day of travel to drop off and then pick up the car. Please consider an approved independent car mechanic for people in our position.

I was happy about the ease of submitting a claim. All I did was give the mechanic my info and he did all the rest. I am very satisfied with Alpha Auto. Not everything was covered by the warranty, though. All-in-all, I am satisfied and happy.

Rear hatch door was working fine when vehicle picked up. 200 miles and one bad rain storm and door is not working again. Also, charged 271.50 for work. We have a $100 deductible. Why were we charged. Currently in process of working out who is going to fix the car again.

I had my car looked at Ford dealership. My invoice wasn’t paid in full. Not only that, first, my invoice was denied then I get a check for 200. Very unprofessional organization. Rep that I spoke with was rude and on top of that had no clue of what she was talking about. Not to mention the wait time.

Customer service at our local dealer was excellent. The only complaint is that it took too long (weeks) to get a loaner car. Luckily I could use the car during this time. The service Manager, Cory, was great. He kept me informed and was always pleasant and professional every time. All repairs were covered under the extended warranty, which was excellent! Will look into extending it next year when it expires.

An awning motor needed replaced and our RV is parked at a resort in another state. Bringing it home is not an option. The luxury of knowing repairs can be made locally and be covered under warranty is true peace of mind. We will never go without an extended warranty.

My truck sat at the dealer for over three weeks with a final verdict of claim denied. One part because the adjuster didn’t verify and also did not drive to attempt to duplicate. The other because the part was not covered. You would think that a non covered part would have been a quick decision but Assurant went back and forth with tedious questions for the dealer and every answer took over 48 hours to make a decision on. One question was to make sure the tires were inflated to factory spec, which the inspector had already done. Another was to submit pictures which the inspector had already done. This whole time I would call customer service for updates and the only response I would get was that it was under review and decisions took 24-48 hours. They finally said my claim was denied after my truck being in the shop almost a month. Their only explanation was the part I needed was not specifically called out in the contract as being covered.
Apparently it took over three weeks to figure that out. Which, by the way, the part is also not specifically called out in the parts not covered section of the contract. All in all, I would not recommend using Assurant for an extended warranty and I should’ve known better when I bought it. I’ve been in the automotive industry as a technician for over 10 years and non-factory warranties always give dealerships and customers problems. I should have paid a little extra and got a manufacturer extended warranty.

This company is the worse warranty company I have ever had to deal with, they wanted to put a used transmission in my car. I purchased my car brand new and never would have thought that at 70,000 miles I would need a new transmission but for security I thought purchasing an extended warranty would be beneficial and then when I have to actually use it, it was the most disappointing experience to learn that this company uses used parts, I would not feel safe driving my family in a car with a transmission I know nothing about.

Took a couple weeks to get scheduled. First the coverage was denied. After 6 hrs+ of waiting, it was finally approved. End of Day. Vehicle was kept overnight and we were begrudgingly given a "loaner". The first attempt to fix the AC was unsuccessful. Second attempt was deemed unsuccessful due to faulty part. 2 weeks goes by with NO communication during a "warm spell". We finally called Riverside Service, and were told service will take place when we have your "backordered part". Up to then, there had been no communication about a backorder. I'm going to look for the part myself.

I put my car in the shop for the past two 1/2 months and it's still not fixed. The same engine light is on and it's the same problems I've put it in the shop for multiple times. I have not received a response from Premier Kia manager G. ** and the car still not working right.

Car had excessive water on windshield, on floors front and back and in trunk, also in spare wheel compartment. There was so much on windshield it dripped on my dashboard every day. They had to blow out my sunroof and that didn't work so it went back in. They did something else I can't remember what that was, but it finally worked. At the end, they finally fixed it. I was completely satisfied. Colonial South does great work. I like and trust them. Steve is amazing.

The claim was handled quickly and efficiently. The team was very professional and they went above and beyond in customer service. Tim, Johnathan, Thonda, and Carrie were all an exceptional help!! I took my truck to the dealer on the 11th of June and Assurant okayed the claim on the 12th. Couldn't ask for a faster response. I can't think of anything that could improve your service. If I could ask for anything I guess it would be for Lake Ford to acknowledge that the problem arose from overfilling the oil in the first place and I wouldn't have had to drive my truck for over 10 months in that condition. But none of that is the fault of Assurant. I am very happy with the experience I have had with you. Linda

Brought my vehicle in to the service department for the bearing in one of the pulleys going out from the sound I heard when it was running. It ended up being the water pump and they found a crack in one of the tanks and parts/labour were fully covered under the warranty!

Great. When the first pump seals leaked, on the right rear no problem. Ins. took care of it but now the two front jacks are leaking, it's a serious problem, the jacks come out of their lock position and slowly come down when I am driving my class c motorhome, this is an extreme safety hazard, my ins. co. is giving wes trailers a hard time!!! I give them a 5 star for the first claim, we will see how the handle this one.

Assurant stood behind this repair without any issues. Could not be happier with their service and support. This is the third claim that I have had to file and all have been handled properly. No complaints from me. Would recommend this company to anyone looking in to extended warranties for their vehicle(s).

Took my truck in for work on my front axle which is a day or two job and took a week and a half and then when they called me that it was ready the dealership employee wrecked my vehicle so had to wait another two weeks for my truck.

I loved that the dealership handled everything. I purchased the warranty sort of on a lark and didn't think I'd need it, but it's worth its weight in gold. It covered a heater core leak, windshield washer fluid reservoir issue and upper ball joints. I was surprised I had all these issues, then remembered the warranty. Very satisfied.

We took our 2017 Ram 1500 to the dealership to check for a turn signal problem. They found one out of a string of 10 LEDs was not working. Their tech explained that the LED cannot be repaired and the entire headlight unit would need to be replaced. The cost of the headlight unit is over $1000.00, our claim was denied. Today was the first time we used First Extended and found that they were no help whatsoever!

Unless you can afford to go without your vehicle for weeks at a time, do not purchase a policy from this company. My truck has been in the shop for weeks without repair. The company dragged their feet approving the estimate, then denied it and gave no option to appeal! I had to cancel the nonrefundable reservations on my summer road trip. Save yourself the money up front, pay for the repairs yourself and avoid the headache of dealing with this manipulative and deceiving company.

Initially I was told the claims process was quick. I was told that the claims are usually approved within 48 hours and then it would be about 2 weeks before my vehicle was ready to take home. It took 2 months. I bought the vehicle and got to drive it for only 4 days before it then sat at the dealership for 2 months before getting it back. While I am grateful for the warranty I am also completely unsatisfied with the amount of time it took to get my vehicle back in my possession.

The good news is that my claim was approved. The bad news is that even though the invoice showed that I already paid Tires Plus, someone processing the claim made a mistake and made the check payable to Tires Plus and mailed it to Tires Plus at their address. So it has now been over 2 months since I made the claim and I don't know when I might get the money.

Warranty would not cover a trans cooler, due to my husband's Stage IV Cancer, I couldn't afford it - have the car back for three days and it is not shifting again. My husband can't get into our truck our only other vehicle. We are again without a car, it was in the first time for 5 weeks. Let's see how long and how much this will cost out of pocket.

I appreciate Assurant for the ease of their claims process. The Auto repair shop was able to get in contact with the right people to explain the repairs. I had some minor engine repairs, brake monitor repair, and motor mounts. After a couple of days, Assurant replied with what could be covered. Assurant stood by the extended warranty they promised. Christopher Dodge repaired the problem promptly. They replaced the water pump under the extended insurance warranty. The claim was paid with a deductible of $100. The insurance warranty that I purchased with the vehicle new was now worth it with this repair at 78,000 miles.

Took a long time for the job to be complete, job was complete and repair was good, but the door gasket had to be removal during the repair multiple door gasket were damaged/deformed upon removal, I'm still trying to get the dealership to correct the issue, also the zipper on the passenger front seat cover broke during reassembly and had to add repair time to replace it as well, but the fitment is not as good as the original.

I took my car to the Ford dealership for work because the problem with the car would have required ford to program the new parts. I was then told that my warranty company wouldn’t approve the work because I was within 40 miles of the Chevy dealership I bought the car from. There were so many extra steps and added time to get my car fixed than there needed to be.

Did not have any hassles in my service. The service person was greatly helpful and understanding. I HAD 2 PROBLEMS CORRECTED plus two recalls done. I left my vehicle there and picked it up the next afternoon. I was called when the part came in and brought the car in and it was done in very good time.

I recently had the oil pump replaced on my 2017 Chevy Z71 Suburban. However the repairs were delayed, because your records showed a “gap” in my oil & filter servicing of the vehicle, and I was repeatedly asked to provide records of two oil changes, which were admittedly performed not at the local Chevy dealership. This in and of itself is not the issue. The issue was that just months earlier, you replaced my entire transmission, and I had already provided the records for the two oil changes.

Furnace: The furnace wouldn't heat, sail switch needed to be replaced. Very hard location to access the furnace. Insurance wouldn't pay for the extra time necessary, so I had to pay for it. Insurance should have a flexible hourly limit based on furnace location. Black cable replacement: no issues. 4 star rating overall. 5 stars for PC Mechanical service. 3 stars for Insurance not being flexible and covering the repair costs.

Horrible communication. Inspection delays- no communication with outside party handling the inspections. Car has been at the dealership multiple times with the same issues. Was totally unaware of any issues that technicians discovered during an annual inspection. Service rep came out and explained what they found, and that it had already been run through the claims process and all was good to go for repair. Hardly even realized any real delay in the service, so the turnaround time with the claim must have been extremely fast.

The dealer who sold me the vehicle said that it was not covered under warranty. I called your customer service who informed me that it should be covered and a claim from the dealer was never submitted and denied. I went back to the dealer with this information and was able to get almost all the work done under the warranty I purchased.

There was a lot of miscommunication between us, the customer, the shop and the warranty. We were out of pocket more than $1600, which is not something we can afford and the exact reason we bought the warranty to help mitigate claims so we were not out a lot of money. Replaced motor. First one was defective. Had to order another one. Unfortunately this is still not working properly. I don’t think this is the issue but mechanics think it is. I purchased this warrranty from a Nissan dealership! I only owned my vehicle for 4 months be sure you do your research on the package I didn’t! My car left me stranded! The slave Cylinder went out inside the clutch. Mind you it’s located inside housing where transmission is! All the fluid leaked through a seal and it’s suppose to be part of powertrain warranty but forget it! This company is the worst to deal with. Contacted an agent in Colorado. The agent shouted at me when I called him back to ask questions on why! He said, "You don’t have the correct tier Level!" I paid 2400 for the added protection to be led on regarding by finance department at dealer. Beware. If you put less the thousand miles on your new car forget it. This company will let you down! I asked to speak to a supervisor then he said sorry tough luck! I had to spent thousands. Thanks for nothing!

I have a Ram truck. I tried to get it fixed at that dealer but since the dealer I bought it from has a Chevy dealership near this Ram dealer, they wouldn't allow them to fix. Ram dealer would have fixed the day I was there. Not only did I now have to schedule at a new place I had to pick another day. When they got it, it took them 5 days to do the job when the Ram dealer could have done in hours. Horrible that I had to go to a different place just because they were part of the franchise from the original dealer I purchased my policy from?

This shop was informative and reasonable. The warranty coverage has been EXCELLENT. I highly recommend this warranty carrier. I also will only use this shop for repairs. I have had repairs on the steps, also on the leveling system. The biggest expense is electronics and that is also covered. Anyone buying a RV, you definitely should include the warranty coverage. I shopped and this is the best coverage for the cost.

I took in my vehicle for a problem with the emissions sensor. They found that the purge valve had to be replaced and the extended warranty covered it. However, they also found a hydraulic leak in the tensioner of the timing belt. I was told this was a critical issue and photos were sent. I called the extended warranty about the timing belt and tensioner repair, and was told that it should be covered by the warranty.
When I got to the dealership, I was told that I had to pay the repair of the timing belt. I did but then called the warranty to ask about the denial and was told that the dealership did not inform the company that there was a leak. It was reported as preventative repair, which was not true there was already damage reported. I called the dealership and asked they correct the issue. However, they were told that I had to submit the claim, which I did and still got denied. I have attached the images sent to me by the dealership.

After purchasing my vehicle in Sept. 2023 there was an issue with my passenger braking system. My auto dealer's service manager handled the claim process. 95% of the parts needed to repair my vehicle were covered to my satisfaction. It did take one full day for some back and forth with Assurant and the dealer, but fortunately, I did not need my vehicle repaired right away.

When I purchased the warranty I was told that you had mobile technicians but when I called the rep told me different. If the rep at your company was not correct then this needs to be corrected.

Having to use this warranty for the first time I must say that it was a nightmare. My mechanic was told by Assurant that the vehicle had to be outside of 40 miles of where I purchased the vehicle from. Do you make this stuff up as you go so you don't have to pay? I was never told that nor did I see that clause in the warranty. And when you decided to pay you then short changed my mechanic on his hours needed to fix the vehicle plus you took weeks to pay him.

One of the cylinders went on the car my son has. The whole engine had to be replaced. My son was so worried that he would have to pay a lot to get it fixed. I found that the warranty department worked with my mechanic and handled the payment in a timely manner. I was reluctant to get the extended warranty, but it showed that it had definitely been in my favor since it was a large repair. I was able to drop my tire off and pick it the next day. The tire was completed within the hour. My service text was very nice. He explained the process and I was satisfied with the suggestion to leave the tire since I had my spare tire on already. I was glad warranty came with my car. It was a life saver.

It was just an okay experience, not spectacular. I was happy to pay the $100 deductible for the MAF, but then Star Nissan upsold me throttle bottle service which was supposed to be a complement to the Mass Air Flow; however, it was not covered by the warranty and cost me an additional $185.00 plus tax for a total of $310.00. Since they've done the work, my car vibrates a little. I am intimidated to go back to get my car serviced at that service center in the future.

Initial repairs approved quickly. When I arrived the same evening to pick the vehicle up the Service advisor stated he could not provide an invoice @ this time because the warranty company missed some items on their end and he had to resubmit. This process took almost a week to before Autofair Ford in Manchester NH could produce an invoice. Because of this I was told I can no longer use this warranty program with them. This is a huge problem for me seeing they are my main dealership.

Due to an error regarding my period of coverage, I had a repair to pay out of pocket. Once that error was corrected, I called to file a claim. I was sent an email to setup an online account and submit my claim. It was late on Friday evening, so I didn't get setup until Sunday eve. Once setup, my claim showed it was closed. I called and was given the same email, minus the link to submit my claim. Called again, given an email address to submit my documents.
A couple of days later, I had not received any reply. I then went online to the chat feature and was told my claim had been received and to wait for processing. I checked on line again and fould that a check had been issued but not for the full amount. It showed what was approved, but didn't provided a listing of what was not approved, nor a reason of disapproval other than check my policy (which is confusing at best). I did accept the check, but disappointed that more information had been provided or made clear.

The claim was $629.92 with $100.00 deductible and I only received 483.28. When I purchased the insurance policy I was led to believe that there was only the before mentioned $100 deductible. I was surprised when the check I received was $46.64 less than the amount I had been expecting.. I purchased the warranty in good faith.

Their banking ACH payment system wasn't working so they were fast at sending me a check. Very good overall customer service. The ACH would have been a lot easier but the check came in a timely manner and was able to put it in the bank the same day I got it. Normally the dealership deals with it but I had another claim.

Team at Portsmouth Chevy did an awesome job. They communicated at every step in the process. They worked to make sure my warranty covered as much as possible. There were no surprises. They did an inspection in addition to the emergency service and they explained everything well and gave me options. Overall great experience.

Three weeks and I still don't have my van back. With our family van being down is a major inconvenience along with all of the additional gas I have had to put in my truck. I was only offered a loaner for one day and that is ridiculous. So currently I am very displeased. Thanks. Jason

Our slide out mechanism needed to be replaced. The repair cost over $3,000 and we still had to pay $1100 of that, which really shocked us. We thought our warranty would cover everything. Although the repair was done after a few weeks, we don't understand why we still had to pay 1/3 of the cost.

On customer side, with two shops, one to diagnose, then one to fix, EVERYTHING was done as your contract states, yet your rep refused to agree to cover diagnostics fee. Had to waste two hours on this following up to get paid. Should have been handled by you immediately, without question. You can't know a covered item is covered unless it is diagnosed first. Diagnostic fee is ABSOLUTELY a part of the repair cost. Common sense. Terrible customer service!!.

They take too long to get back with the service department. They put them on hold for minutes before they return to them. My service department personnel said she had to get in connect with them about eight times before they could agree on her with what she needed them to help her with.

Smell of oil while driving car. Took to dealership for diagnosis and found out the motor needed to be pulled and all seals in the motor needed to be replaced. Dealership was very professional and overall great experience. Work was completed to standard and have had no further issues to date.

Repair shop inspected the problem and reported it to the warranty claims div. Repairs needed was a replacement of the fuel tank and straps. Claim div permitted the repair and repairs were done satisfactory. My only complaint with Assurant is they refuse to pay the states sales tax, so in addition to paying the deductible we have to pay the sales tax as well.

The claim process was explained well by the servicing dealership. The servicing dealership was also the ones that sold the policy. I was happy with the communication by the dealership, the work provided, and the communication. The one thing I would improve is the time to approve claims. I understand that there needs to be a process to validate claims, I think it could have been faster for authorization of repairs. It was during the beginning of the calendar year which could have affected its timeliness due to holidays.

I bought my truck from Harry Robinson Ford, I noticed that my truck was making a noise on the front driver side wheel. It turned out to be bad bearings. So I took it back to the dealership and it was taken care of within the day. I thought it would be a longer period of time, so I was given a loaner truck for the time it would be in the shop. The staff at the dealership was very friendly and took care of it in a very timely manner. They replaced it within the day.

All repairs to my vehicle were covered by the extended warranty I purchased when I purchased my vehicle. As with every interaction with this company, it is an absolute battle to get ANYTHING done. Nothing that breaks seems to be covered. I have zero expectations when it comes to the services. If the goal is to collect as much money as possible while providing no services for those monies, then "Mission accomplished."

I have not received my $175 deductible for my rental car I had to pay!! There is not anyone to call if you have questions and was given several different transfers and phone numbers. I don’t feel as if I have had exceptional service at any rate and think a company should be more available for communications with their clients.

I really was impressed as I did not have to do anything but provide the proof of coverage. Claim was filed by the Chevrolet repair shop and the repair cost was paid by the warranty - exactly why we bought the extended warranty. The process went as expected and I would recommend highly!

I took my car in for a backup camera issue and the dealer contacted the insurance company and the work was done under warranty. My car was ready the next day. 5 stars. This was very good service both by the dealer and the insurance company. I always recommend to friends to buy the extended warranty.

I was in for routine maintenance, oil change, lube, filter. The dealership also did a multi-point inspection. I did not think it was a major issue but I did mention a grinding noise that seems to happen when I get up to highway speeds. I was looked at. A service advisor explained that I needed to replace the left rear hub. It was replaced as a part of the warranty and I was grateful.

Took a week to get approval for what should have been a routine repair request. I had to call the dealer multiple times and was told they were waiting on approval and then waiting for a rep to come to the dealership. In the meantime I ended up borrowing a car so I could go to work. Very frustrating- next time I buy a car I will check before I purchase any extended warranty and will check out other dealerships (this was my 2nd purchase from this dealer).

Probably has nothing to do with the actual warranty or policy but I went from November 1st to December 16th with no rental available to me while my transmission needed worked on. I love that the policy completely covered the costs, and for that so much stress was taken off my shoulders. I just wish I could have had access to something to drive from that period of time even if it was outsourced.

My 2018 GMC Sierra Denali required several repairs. The repairs were done timely and with no expense to me. The entire process was smooth and not burdensome. Not gonna lie, when I let the dealer talk me into the extended warranty, I thought it was likely a total waste of money. I was not holding my breath that it was legitimate or ever going to pay for itself. Recently was the first and only time so far that I have submitted a claim, it was handled entirely by that same dealer's service department, and I did not have to do a thing other than pay the $100 deductible. It is just one experience to draw upon here, but it was a pleasant surprise to be sure.

My car had broken axles on both front. Bushings were dry and cracked. Heard a clicking sound when turned wheel.. Now I hear a sound when I place heat on, whistle sound coming from heat vent. Inside car I still hear the whistle sound when heat fan goes on. I have to call dealership again.

This is the third time we have used Assurant for a covered repair. They have been more than fair and quick to authorize repairs. Usually the full repair is covered with the exception of the deductible. This last repair, we had to cover an extra hour of troubleshooting time. This was cleared and approved by us before it was submitted to Insurance.

I was told this extended warranty covered anything that failed on the vehicle at zero cost. Among the many repairs that needed done, I was charged for repairing the air conditioning after driving without it all summer. With as much as I am paying for coverage, I expect there to be no hidden fees.

The staff has been friendly and efficient whenever I've spoken with them on the phone. In my recent claim, my mechanic was very familiar with them and had zero problems getting my vehicle repaired quickly. The only problem I had during this situation was talking with your advisor team, each time I called there was a different person who all gave me different answers/information on why it was taking so long for a decision to approve or deny my claim. Also the dealership had some different answers as well but the most stressful thing was I was without my vehicle for several weeks and that was not acceptable as I explained to both parties that I and my spouse were handicapped and required the vehicle for multiple doctors' appointments although once approved they repaired the vehicle that same day.

My automatic fuel pump went bad (only 45,000 miles on my Rav4 Limited) and had to be replaced. The dealership filed the claim and it was approved in less than 24 hours and the work on my SUV was finished the next day. I need my car as it's the only one in the household so I really appreciated Assurant's quick approval and response in this matter.

We had 2 issues and were told both would be fixed. The issue with the outside temperature gauge has not changed. It still does not work. We returned to the dealer where we purchased the vehicle which is over 120 miles away. Combined distance with illness, it was not possible to get back and have more work done. Bummer.

The service writer (Sydney) was absolutely phenomenal at assisting me with this repair. She made sure the the noises were diagnosed correctly and repairs were completed thoroughly. I will absolutely be utilizing them again. The warranty covered the costs of the diags and the repairs. It was the most simplistic thing I have had to go through with a vehicle.

We reached out to the Dealership in Jacksonville, NC, we purchased the car and warranty from, they gave us your information. I was out of town and had to have some work done to my non working wipers before I could drive home. The estimate was for $540. Because of the amount, they said it needed to be authorized and that would be 2-3 days. I couldn't wait that long and paid for the repairs waiting on the outcome. THREE WEEKS Later, I was STILL trying to get the approval. After 5-7 calls they decided they would cover $220. That is NOT the bumper to bumper warranty I was sold on. I had just driven off the lot 3 days prior. Pretty shady tactics if you ask me. It is not cheap, the price doesn't cover the expenses and you have to track them down repeatedly. Not my idea of a good return on my investment and I would never sign up again

Although Vallejo Nissan and Assurant did an excellent job attempting to fix my car's traction light and issues, the light is still coming back on and the issue is not resolved. I bought this car brand new and I’m starting to think the manufacturer (Nissan) sold me a lemon. I was not really informed on the deductible side of the extended warranty when I purchased it. I was told it was the same as the factory bumper to bumper warranty. I still would have bought it.

Water pump replacement under extended warranty. No explanation needed, repairs completed after 4 days. Mistake of serial number by insurance provider caused delay in repairs of over 3 days. Once error corrected, repairs instantly completed. Deductible paid, car completed. Went to leave, battery dead, had to replace battery. Finally car would start & job done.

Bad service, car was in the STG shop for over 10 days, insurance only cover 5 days of rental car. My insurance doesn't cover other issues on the car and still not working correctly. Need to repair my car again and the STG dealership will take couple weeks to just check the car again. I want someone to review my case and upgrade my issues.

Claim process was quick, inspector came out quick, claim was approved in 48hrs, vehicle was repaired and back to us in one business day (transmission replaced). I am so thankful I got the warranty. I highly recommend getting the extended warranty. It is well worth the cost. Volume Chevrolet’s service department was very good to us.

I was shocked to receive the survey request and will be surprised if anyone reads this. This has been the worst experience with any issue I have ever had with any product or warranty. It took 3 months to get my vehicle back. Several "inspectors" sent to the shop, agreed with the shop findings only to change the story with Assurant. I spent countless hours on the phone to keep it moving to no avail. The shop spent hours on the phone on hold with them at the cost of supporting their other clients. Assurant "Customer Service", continued to keep me from talking to a supervisor.
A supervisor finally returned my call after three attempts to discuss with a supervisor, each time told I would get a call. That supervisor left an arrogant, obnoxious & condescending voicemail that the shop has provided no failure issue. I have saved a copy of the voicemail. A week later my wife was able to reach a supervisor & he admitted they knew the vehicle needed an engine replacement. If they knew this, then why not walk us & the shop through the process? Terrible experience, no accountability, no concern for the customer.

My 2020 Rogue makes more noise than before and other issues while driving, breaking, making a turn to left and put it in reverse.. Too many clunking noises. Don’t feel save driving it! Had a great experience using the Assurant Warranty Service. Everything was explained well and was handled quickly. I would always suggest this product to anyone purchasing a vehicle. I dropped my 2018 Chevrolet Suburban Premium at the Apple Chevy York location in York PA to have a full transmission replacement. The work was great and my vehicle drives and shifts beautifully.

Truck was brought in for oil change on 5 Oct. Problem was identified by dealer and clam was started. Approval was not given until the 10th. An extra 5 days without my vehicle is too long! The warranty company said it is their policy for review of the claim. My new policy is no more warranties.

The Assurant agent was incredibly hard to get in contact with. It took 2 days of sitting on the phone for 3+ hours to get my agent on the phone. Once I got them in contact with my dealer the agent then did everything in his power to find out the minimum amount of coverage Assurant would cover to the point that the repair person at the dealer had to tell him that the problem would not be fixed if he excluded any more pieces and because of all of the exclusions the problem would in fact persist (which it has). I would NEVER recommend this auto warranty. If it’s offered to you deny it 1000%. Not a scorned customer just an honest consumer.

I knew when I got a jeep I wanted a protection policy. Assurant dealt with it no problem.. They did ask for an inspection but since it was a part STARTING to fail (not there yet or ever) that was no problem.. in fact I did not notice the part going bad (Caught in routine service.. last oil change). Job was approved, paid for and completed. Very nice.

The dealership had problems with getting someone on the line for a few days to verify warranty, once the warranty was verified, the dealership also had another issue with the repairs that needed to be done. The total cost was too much but later on again, the warranty covered the repairs on the vehicle.

Our experience was good, our only issue was the amount of time it took to get the decision to replace the engine. It was approximately 3 weeks from the time the car was taken to the shop and we got the decision. The shop itself was extremely kind and polite and the work was done well.

My claim was submitted on 9/7, approved on 9/27. It is the 15th of October and I still have not received reimbursement for my car repairs. I called Assurant twice to check the status, 1st time to see if it was approved, 2nd time (4 days ago) to ask where the check was after being told it was mailed out on 9/27, that was 18 days ago.

After paying an astronomical amount of money for this warranty for almost 4 years, my truck started having issues with the front end. I took it to the dealership on a Tuesday. To make a long story short, my car had blown a front caliper. At first, the warranty company refused to honor the claim, saying the warranty had run out. The dealership went back and forth with them for 2 days, just to get a claim submitted. Once submitted, the warranty company chose to not replace anything besides the caliper, ignoring the rotors, hoses, and brake pads the blown caliper destroyed. The dealership then replaced the calipers, and nothing else, returning my car on Friday evening. My own mechanic had to change everything else, including the hoses that caused everything and weren't covered, costing me an additional $600 when the same issue happened a week later. This warranty and the dealership are absolute trash.

When we bought this car used, it was still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. A lot of people have told us the extended warranties are a waste of money, but we buy one every time, even when we bought a brand new one 20 years ago. The extended warranty has always paid-off and been worth every dime. We could not have done this repair without Assurant or a credit card. This warranty really saved us. It was worth every dime.

When the APIM needed replaced on our Explorer we set up an account and contacted our local Ford dealer. There was a long delay before we could proceed but it turned out to be a problem on the dealer's part. After they resolved their issue everything went quickly and smooth.

The process is easy. Only bad thing is does cover the labor cost 50%. Findley charges like 200 per hour and you only cover 100. I guess that's OK but wish they would cover 100%. They do cover parts at 100%.

I gave my warranty information to my Service Writer at Peoria Ford and he handle the claim for me. It took nearly 10 days to get the vehicle fixed with making the claim and having an available Technician to resolve the issue. I had a rental vehicle for that time period and had hoped it would have been covered under the Extended Warranty.

Had my display screen replaced and it was great service. Everyone was great and it was done in a timely manner. I would recommend them to anyone. Dropped the car off at 3 and didn’t even make it home and it was done. They were very flexible of when I could come back and pick it up. The front desk people were awesome and very informational. If I ever had any other problems I would definitely go back to use them.

The car lot had my car for 27 days without it ever being touched!! I was given the runaround and told to call Assurant eventually. When I called them, then MAGICALLY everything went through and my part was “approved” to be paid for the same day. Bottom line IT WAS A COMPLETE ** SHOW!

I was sold this warranty when buying car advertised as great. Been a war getting claim approved for some reason, at dealer within 40 miles as contract states, then moved to purchasing dealer. Informed dealer coming to get. Should be getting a lawyer right now, haven't seen car in 3 months. Freaking joke.

Strut spring broke. Warranty doesn't cover OEM parts. The Aftermarket strut doesn't replace all the parts the OEM part does. I continue to have issues, and it still sounds like something is broken despite the strut being replaced twice. I appreciate what the dealer did to make this right, but the only fix is to replace it with OEM parts.

Advisor had to call many times for approval. Sent by selling dealer since they couldn’t fix. Since sent, a blanket approval would have made sense. Over one and a half weeks to complete. Approved for a loaner for one day although it was recommended not to drive any longer until fixed.

Between Assurant refusing to pay for shipping of the warrantied part and Velocity not willing to find a provider that didn't charge $175 for a 8OZ part measuring 2x6 inches it was a disaster. Yes, the unit was repaired, at the cost of $100 deductible and $175 for shipping of the part, keeping in mind the initial extended warranty was $8000.... I think both companies could have done better.

I love me some Son's Honda but unfortunately, I reside in Macon Ga. which is 1 hour away and Walsh Honda will not honor the warranties that I purchased through Son's. All of my services have to be processed through Son's. During the last visit with Son's Honda, there was a delay regarding payment to the third party in repairing my rims. Why offer a warranty when there are problems paying based on numerous past claims? I don't give a damn if I scratch every rim on my car, that's why I purchased the three-for-one protection warranty. PAY THE BILL. There are no type of stipulations on this contract.

My experience was kind of rocky with the waiting process. But the people at Legacy made it better. I’m just glad to be back riding. Thanks to all that helped. Hoping that nothing else happens to my car but I’ll be back soon. Especially if it’s nothing but an oil change.

Excellent service from Simmons Rockwell Ford, ease of claim went well. The service dept was aware of the issue and when I called to see if my issue was under warranty the customer service Rep was very helpful. The total time without my vehicle was 1 day. Excellent response by all.

The extended warranty helped to replace most the services of the air conditioner that went out. My biggest problem is that for GM to replace the air conditioner they had to cut the belts per their policy and yours said to loosen it and take the tensioner off and just not replace the belts, so I was charged for belts which I should not have been.

I purchased the high tech auto warranty on 3/6/21. I took my vehicle in for repairs last week and was told by my mechanic I need a PCM powertrain control module. The service contract brochure clearly shows this part is covered with the warranty I have. However, when my mechanic tried to start the coverage process they were told it wasn't covered. I called today to question why and was told only what is listed on my signed document is covered. I continued to reference the service contract brochure given to me by the dealership when I purchased the vehicle that clearly shows this part is covered for the warranty I purchased. They hung up on me. This part should be paid for by the warranty as I have the documents showing it is a covered item.

I bought our vehicle pre-owned, and spent a lot on the extended warranty. It's my wife's car, and I want peace of mind. One pays quite a bit for the EW through dealer, they mark up for profit. I don't know what it costs through the actual company, but I'm sure less. 10k miles after our purchase, the engine needed replaced. That alone paid for warranty. And here recently had several issues, that totaled around $3k. Once again, the warranty came to rescue. No hassle, no argue, just a couple days of approval and they went to work. The inconvenience of dealing with the issues is the only negative in situation, but a loaner vehicle is available. I'm very thankful for this warranty company, and can very much say it's money well spent. I can think of nothing to improve on.

Not amused with this warranty at all. The shop I am forced to use has been cutting wires on my car and I'm told no matter what if I'm with in a certain mile radius I must use this shop. So I have to have a mile long CARFAX report because I can't use the dealer that is closest to me. It's just crazy that I paid a ridiculous amount for this warranty and am being forced to use a shop that does ghetto tactics just to get more work.

This May the engine in my wife's Jeep Cherokee suddenly started skipping which caused alarm lights to appear on the dash. The car had very low mileage for a 2017. It was towed to the Jeep dealer. The only issue I had with the process was the length of time it took for resolution. I’m not sure why that was. When it was determined that the engine would need to be replaced there was a little more delay in securing a replacement. Once the new engine was delivered things went smoothly and quickly. The car arrived at the dealer May 22 and left the dealership under its own power on August 9.
I am pleased with the resolution and my wife is very grateful to have her precious Jeep back. When we purchased this car I was concerned that with so much technology involved that something expensive was likely to break during the 36 month warranty period. I never guessed that it would be the engine. My expensive warranty turned out to have been a wise purchase.

I was glad the oil leak matter was resolved but it was secondary to the transmission issue. The transmission fix was not covered by warranty which was disappointing and I had to pay out of pocket. I got the warranty for a reason. The issue start happening again and truck is currently at the shop.

Working with Marhoffer and the Assurant company was simple and easy to understand. However, I was not happy with the length of time involved that it took for me to get the truck back. My truck was held by Marhoffer for 4 days before the air conditioning was repaired. Was confused about Assurant agent checking on other possible repairs.??? Finally, repair was made and air conditioning works fine now.

The claim took over a week and did not cover the full amount it was supposed to. I pay for a warranty for it to just be a problem. I would never recommend this company and will be writing a review on Google too. The dealership even agreed that it was a hassle dealing with this company.

Part of my contract didn't even have coverage for essential safety features on my vehicle which was the front auto collision detection that were having issues. I scoured through the contract and I'm sure it falls within a parameter of my contract but they said it was not covered. This was the only negative I have to say.

I have not used your service. I asked for the rest of my money back a month ago and have heard nothing. The money was thrown away, or stolen. The charges to me were the same whether I used your service or not. The dealer was not supportive about using my insurance either.

Took my vehicle in primarily for front brakes. The parking sensor was showing an error. Turns out the sensor was bad and had to be replaced and painted too match. The dealer handled the claim paperwork for me and everything went good. I have used the service before, and the dealer let me know ahead of time if it was covered or not. All in all not a bad service so far. Like everything, it's not worth it if that one time it doesn't cover what you need. This is worth it so far, so no complaints.

They would not cover my vehicle repairs, I had to Pay $4500 out of my pocket because the claims adjuster knows very little about Mechanical systems and would not cover my vehicle, very disappointed with this company, their Customer reps are very rude and not professional at all they should be very ashamed of themselves. The reason people purchase insurance is to have a sense of security so when a issue arises with their vehicle it's not such a financial burden, thanks to First Extended Service Corporation I Paid them for the Coverage and paid to have my car repaired, ATTENTION, ANYONE WHO READS THIS DO NOT PURCHASE WARRANTY FROM First Extended Service Corporation. Once their schedule opened up, the service was fast and efficient! Kassy is the best! Driver was very friendly. Service tech was efficient despite a bit of a delay (on my part) to get done in reasonable time! Excellent service department and quick in and out. No issues with repairs.

Fee difference between what is allowed and what dealers charge. That was unexpected. A fee chart on a website would be helpful. This will be helpful in determining the best value and best service providers. Other than that the experience was quite pleasant. I hope I won’t have to use it again for a while.
