My experience has been excellent with Philips Lifeline. I had an accident last January. I fell in my apartment and they were very, very kind in getting my son and daughter-in-law to come. I've been using this for quite a few years and there was no need for me to have an emergency. But that made up for all the other times which was wonderful. I really appreciate using the button. I'm very satisfied.

Originally, my Lifeline device was in the house from my mother and when she passed away, I just kept it. I had trouble with the button coming off of the cord so much and then I fell and hit my head. Since they were advertising new ones I thought it's time for me to get one for myself. So I changed and got the new unit.

I've had good experience with Philips Lifeline. I've fallen a number of times and they've always showed up quickly. And they do more than just "falling". Because one time I was sitting here in the dark and somebody was banging on my storm door and scared me to death. I just had to talk to somebody quick and so I pressed the button and talked to the girl. She said, "You want me to call the police?" and I said, "Yeah." So she did and the police were right here.

One time ADT came around and they said, "With Philips, if you needed help from the police, you wouldn't have any protection that way." And then I said, "Oh, yeah, I do!"

I've had atrial fib. off and on for years, but I was able to come out of it not needing any help. Since I started getting older, I had a bad experience, my husband died, and I'd have TIAs now and then. I also don’t have as much control of my body like I did. I tire out really easy, plus I have a back problem, and that doesn’t help any. I’ve had that for years. At times, I get unsteady, and I have to walk with the cane. So my daughter ordered Lifeline for me. I live with my daughter and son-in-law, and they wanted me to have some way to call while they're at work. I put it on in the morning and wear it on until bedtime. It's comfortable to use. I haven't had incidents or anything. I haven't had any help needed from Philips Lifeline but when I do a regular test, the reps are always good, nice, and courteous.

It works and it's strongly effective. I live out in the country, and I've got two acres. I walk around in the yard and I walk my dogs and just have a button to push if I need them. My wife is constantly afraid of falling, so she wears it every time she goes outside but we don't use it much inside. We've got it hanging on the lamp, so we can get a hold of it if we need to.

They call and let me know when to reset it. They are very pleasant each time they call. I've used it a couple of times. Once, I fell, that was a year ago or less. I went to the hospital, and everything went fine. The emergency came very quickly. When I’ve talked just a few words to the people who called "Make sure you’re setting that right and everything’s okay," they couldn’t be more pleasant than they are. I feel very safe. I live alone, and I’m 85 years old. I’m in poor health right now, but I feel very comfortable knowing that if I need some help, I have a place where I can get it very quickly.

My daughter was the one who got Philip Lifeline for me. She’s going on a vacation with her husband this week for a week’s time. I’m still going to stay at my house by myself with the neighbor checking in on me to see if I have enough food and things. It’s all because I have the confidence in that little button. If I fall down, I don’t even have to press the button. They will know that I've fallen down, and help will be here very quickly. I’m happy to let other people know how good Philips Lifeline is.

I've called and complained to Philips Lifeline that their advertising is incorrect. They always said, "If you fall, we will detect the fall", and then maybe in teeny-tiny letters, "95% of the time" except I don't think that's true because for a while, every time I've been down to pick up a paper or anything, it would immediately alert Lifeline and they'd call to see if I'd fallen, which I hadn't. But when I actually did fall and broke my hip, they didn't respond and I lay there deliberately because it said you have to lie there and not move and then they'll call you. They never called. I finally pushed the button and the ambulance came. So I haven't been happy about that and I've never felt really secured since then. I think they shouldn't mark it as such. They should not be quite so positive that if you fall, somebody will contact you because they don't.

I have recommended them but I told everybody that I'd referred to be sure that they know that it's not necessarily true that if you fall, they'll call you. So with that in mind, just be aware. Now, I know and I've also said to Lifeline that a lot of the other companies are doing GPS as well. When I've spoken to somebody there in Communications, they say they were working on it but they've been working on it forever so I don't know it they're ever going to do that or not. I know AAA and a whole bunch of other places do that. But I feel safer having it than not having it and I don't know if another company would be any better and it's easier just to keep it the way it is.

I have the Philips Lifeline and it has gone off a couple of times accidentally but I've never had to use it for an emergency, fortunately. I live alone most of the time and because of my age, I wanted it for emergencies. I live in a private community where we all have our own houses and we have a security office. They're very close to us but sometimes if you fall or something, you can't get the phone. You can use it and it works good. It's just a protective thing for me and when I take a shower, I put it outside the shower so I can have access to help right away. I'm very satisfied with it. The only thing is I'm getting a lot of information now. They have some that work in your car also while you're driving.

I've had pretty good luck with Philips Lifeline so far. It's the first time I've had one. The other day, my granddaughter got a hold of it. I was upstairs in the next apartment a day or two ago and the ambulance came down here. But a few years ago when I was outside, I pushed it and I got no response. The team has been very good. They've been very helpful. They check on it to see if its working about every month or so. I just had no problems with them whatsoever.

Before I got the alert system, I fell a lot but I was always somewhere that somebody was around. But I just wasn't as old as I am. I mainly got it when I got older. And now, I feel safer in the shower most of the time when I'm by myself. I have no problem wearing the button. I don't even hardly think about it really sometimes since I got it changed. But when I first got it, you barely touch it and it would go off but now it doesn't. When my granddaughter pushed it, the others came. Everything was fine and I'm happy with it.

We got it for a family member who's an elderly (she's 93). She has had it for probably seven years. She has been here for five and she had it when she lived in Houston before she came to live with us. It is a comfort to know that she has it in case something happens, because there’s not someone here with her all the time.

It works well for us. I would recommend Philips Lifeline. It’s been a good experience every time we’ve ever had to speak with them. And although we've never had to use it in an emergency, every time that she checks it, everything seems to be really good.

Once, long after I had it and electricity was off, I thought, "What can I do? I can't talk to anybody. I live here alone and you're supposed to call in if you can." I couldn't find the phone number that I would use (I found it later on). So what do I do? I got a brave idea and I decided to call the electric company. I couldn't get a hold of anybody and I said, "Wait a minute. I can call the Lifeline." So I did. And they called the electric company for me. I used another medical alert service before Philips. It was local but to me, it was perfect. But then, this one is, too. I switched because my first one went out of business.

I don’t have any problems with it. They were on the spot when I needed them and that’s the main reason to having it. Since using Philips, I’m improving. My daughter got me one of those magnet bracelets and since I've had that, I haven’t had any falls which is a blessing. I never go out without it.

I used to fall frequently. My daughter purchased Philips Lifeline for me. I didn't think I needed it but she felt she would feel better if I had the lifeline. I was in a senior center and they take good care of me anyway. And I really don’t need lifeline but I’m keeping it just in case I should need it because I haven’t had to use it. Maybe that’s why I walk better now or something. Right now, it’s not working and they’re sending me a replacement button. But it would be a good thing to have if I weren't living in the place I’m living in which also has lifelines. I know people who have it and have been saved by it.

A couple of times, we've had a little malfunction with the telephone and they have responded by contacting my son as they should have. Although I didn't need them at that particular time, I felt good about having them respond as they should have. I've felt really secure about having Lifeline here. I am alone in my house in the country and I got it because I thought it would be worthwhile to feel more secure. Overall, it's been a very positive relationship.

I know that he hasn't used it yet. My father-in-law really didn't need it because we've been around. He’ll be 97 in June. He’s living with us. We check it out. It’s always on him, the necklace one. So we feel comfortable leaving him in our house because he’s been living with us for about a year now. He knows to push the button but he won’t answer the phone usually.

My mother had the same one but she lived in an assisted living place. But for safety, even though they had strings in each room, she had the watch type and she had to use it a couple of times. But so far, my father-in-law didn't have to use it because I’m around or if I leave him for a few hours, he knows what to do. I said, “If you need help, you just push it. You need to wear it at all times. Don’t take it off because if someone has to break into the house, if it’s an ER or emergency, an ambulance, they could break into our house. It doesn't matter. But you push that button right away.” I don’t want him to have the experience that my mother had falling on the floor and, I can’t get up, and nobody was around at that time. My mother was lying on the floor the first time. But then when we got her a lifeline support, she used it so she had people around for her. So far, we've been lucky and we've been checking, making sure that it’s on. He still has a good memory so he knows to push that button for any emergency.

He doesn't complain about it at all. My mother-in-law before she died a couple of years ago had the necklace she wore. They ordered both of them but she had a little dementia, of course, so she'd forget and leave it off her. The last few months before she died, she broke her hip by not remembering to have it on and she could have pushed it but she went the wrong way in the house and fell and broke her hip. My husband and I were called. My father-in-law called us six hours later moaning and groaning in bed. He had his lifeline on but maybe he didn't feel that she hurt herself at that time. He took her walker and pushed her on her walker a little bit back into bed. And of course, she was complaining. He didn't have hers on. And that’s how important it is. She ended up having surgery and dying six months later because my father-in-law didn't think about it.

Right now, we know that he needs to live with us because he had a heart attack that he didn't even know he was having a heart attack then. So he called us in the middle of the night. And that’s when the paramedics came and said to him, “Don’t you have any pain or anything?” No. But when they did the EKG, they said, “You’re having a heart attack.” He had the lifeline on and that’s the one point that we made to him when he moved in here into our house with it because we changed the system over to our phone number in our house because nobody’s at his old place.

At that age, it is the scariest thing to open up the door and find one of your parents on the floor like my mother when she didn't have it at that moment. She had these strings to pull. Well, if you’re not next to a string in the assisted living place, you need something else to safety. And we kept talking about it with her. We need to get lifeline. No, no. Well, when we found her on the floor in the morning, good thing she didn't hurt herself because she couldn't even reach the phone. It was too high. She just lay down on the floor and she had some scrapes on her knees and elbows and that was it, thank god. But we told her, “You’re going to do it and were buying it. We’re getting it for you and you’re going to wear it.” So she got the watch one and she never took it off.

It’s just very important. Our friends our age, they ask us about it. I would tell them about it. But most of my friends, the generation, their parents all now are passing on from other things in their 90's. And people are living longer now, too. So far, they've been really good. They call up. They ask if everything’s okay. So far, everything’s working the right way and if we could still keep him to remember, “You just wear it and try to remember if I’m not in the house, push that button.” It’s just very important that people realize that they need to have something like that to wear when they’re alone in the house or even if you have two elderly people. They need to have that on.

Several years ago, Aunt Jenny had fallen a couple of times and we just thought it would be helpful if she had a lifeline. She wears it around her neck. It doesn't seem to bother her at all. We've had a lot of problems lately but right now, they’re fixed. They've been helpful but somehow or another, out of nowhere, we experienced that the box would call us in the middle of the night and say that they want to know what’s wrong. And there was nothing.

That went on for several days and I called them and they said they would check into it and call me back. Well, they didn't call me back. So I called them back. And they said, well, it wasn't their problem. It was our phone company’s problem, our phone lines. And I said, “Well, did you call them?” And they said, “No, but you can.” So I called them and they said they didn't think it was a problem because it had been working fine. And then in about a couple of hours, my phone company called me back and said that there was something offline and they put it back online and we haven’t had any problems lately.

Since this is the only experience we've ever had, I would have to say they're okay. But I see a lot of others advertised for a lot less money. I would say check others out first.

At other times, when it didn't seem like I did anything much, it seems to register. What am I paying for here? They were polite when they called but the set up thing needs to be improved. It's more for her than it is for me because she lives out of town quite a few miles from here and she can't come in to see me as often as she might. So this was another way of her keeping up and she does a wonderful job of knowing what's going on. I'm never sick which is a wonderful thing and so I've never had to use it that much. I've been very lucky and have been very healthy all my life. I will agree that it does give you confidence in your own health and what's going on around you. For a long time, I didn't wear it around my neck all the time but I got hammered so much about not doing that. Now it is just automatic. I sleep with it and it's just part of me now. I would recommend it for other elderly people now that I've been wearing it and realize it's not something that I get tired of. I don't even think about it. I approve of it and it's a good thing.

I've had Philips Lifeline for quite a while. I’m really happy with them. I've been very fortunate and haven’t had to use them, but I accidentally set it off a couple of times. They were very nice. I will soon be 90 years old, and I have an older sister. When she’s in a nursing home, she will not wear hers. And I wear mine day and night. It just fits into my clothes. Probably people don’t even notice it.

I've had weather-related problems when we have storms; they said mine had a backup battery, that it would go ahead and go off if it had to, so I was glad to know that. This is the only one I've ever had. And I mean it’s the one that was set up when I signed up for it, equipment and everything. I just knew I was being treated for cancer, and I live alone. I knew I needed something here, because I haven’t been able to speak to you, don’t want to bother your neighbors with everything. They all know I have one and everything, and I’m so glad that it operates even in stormy weather.

I’m thankful that I haven’t had to use it, but there’s just something about it when you’re alone. You’ll just never know. The time I accidentally set it off, I dropped something on the floor, and I was at the sewing room. I leaned over to pick it up, and when I did, it got between my breastbone and my knee. I haven’t done that. It was just an accident that it got caught up that way when I bent over. It woke me up. I always have it with me in the shower. I feel safe with it. It’s just practically been trouble-free as far as that goes.

The customer service team has been really nice. Sometimes it’s a woman and sometimes it’s a man. I do check it once a month. When it was installed, they suggested that I check it once a month. On the 27th, I usually sound it off and someone comes on the line, and I tell them that I’m just checking the unit, and we might chat a little bit and hang up. It does take up a little space on my writing desk. It’s hooked to my phone and right now the button on the machine is flashing.

Everything’s working. I’m really happy with it.

One day I was planting flowers next door and I pulled the roots on a little wild tree. I sat on my butt and paramedics came up here looking for me. The guy said, "Here's the patient." People came up here looking all over for me because I sat pulling the little wild tree, and that was buzzing. But I was okay. If anybody is lucky to have a Philips Lifeline, then thank God that they got that button because a lot of people will be dead on the floor. I commend whoever discovered that button business. It's the best.

Philips Lifeline has given me a security that I didn't know I could find being alone. I got mine because I had a knee replacement and my husband is gone a lot, so that was kind of frightening with stairs. Every time I've tried to test it to make sure it's working, everybody has been very helpful as far as not being like I’ve interrupted them for something that wasn’t important. It’s important to them that I do test it, so I really appreciated that.

Another time, I’m home and I fell in the bathroom and I called for help. As I recall, I didn’t have to lay on the floor long. They picked me up, and went to the hospital. It always costs so much a month, but it’s worth it. I’d recommend it to any friend. The friends that I got have them.

They will say something to make sure that I’m not in a dazed state or something... Fortunately, I’m very blessed that I haven’t had to use it. I’ve had no emergencies. But the cord is wearing thin on the necklace that I have, and it does say that the device should have been replaced last January. I don’t know if that’s necessary. The Philips Lifeline is not worth a dime. I had lung surgery. They put me on it and then I kept it afterwards. They had told me when I got it that they would send a nurse out. And one time, I did use it, it kept me from calling an ambulance. Whenever I called, they didn't send the nurse out. We ended up calling 911. It was the weekend and they didn't want to do anything. I keep getting $80 bills, too, with me and my mom both on it instead of $40. I had to call them all the time and one time, I didn't get a statement. I'm just mad.

I just talked to them yesterday. I got another $80 bill and they said right now zero balance. I said, "One more $80 bill and you're pulling it out of here." It's the service in general. They don't do what they advertise or what they say. My mom wears hers all the time. I don't wear mine all the time. I just have it at night by my bed because she can't hear and that's the only time I ever have it. If I'm gone or something at least she could get help. That's what I was looking at.

My children are close but I do live alone and I've had very good luck with it. I haven't had to call them for myself since I've had it.

The only thing I've changed since I purchased the unit or the service, is I asked for a code to be asked, not just my name. They come and they know my name. And they go, "Mr. **, are you okay? Do you need help?" I told them I want them to ask for my code because somebody could break into my home and if they come on and say, "Mr. **, are you okay" and whoever is here could say everything is fine, they wouldn't know.

In addition to that, there is a code that is required. It's what I wanted to do. There have been times when I called to test it that it takes a little too long for somebody to pick it up. You're using it because it's an emergency. I don’t know, maybe the call center people were just busy at that particular moment and I don’t know if it’s reasonable or not, but to me if you’re hitting that, it shouldn't take too long for somebody to respond. Otherwise, it's not doing what it should be doing.

Then another time there was a man standing on the side street here and he kept yelling at my house. My niece's uncle is a sheriff here so she told them about that and she told him he comes around about 11 o'clock at night so they were ready for him and they caught him and put him in jail. I only turned it on one time and I did that accidentally. It's probably been beneficial. So I've never tried to turn it on to see if there's anybody there or not. I'm sure there'd be somebody there 'cause it came on before and they wanted to help. It serves the purpose just right.

I've been fine with the Philips Lifeline. Everything is working well and I'm very pleased. I was having a balancing problem and a friend of mine was very concerned that I would fall and not be able to get to a phone. So she suggested that I get a lifeline and that's what I've done. So far, it's good. The lifeline team was fine. They helped me out a lot and I was very pleased with them. I walk with a cane to help with my balancing but I do know that if anything should happen, I will have help as long as I'm near the phone. It has given me a nice sense of security.

The Philips Lifeline is very good and everything seems to be going all right. The team calls me and then I'll explain what happened and then that's it. The people are very nice. I had a stroke about a year and a half ago. Since I got the stroke, there have been different changes. I like to get up on ladders or stand on chairs and I can't do any of that now. I have to back off on them. I knew somebody that had a lifeline and I asked her what she thought about it and she said they were great. Now the lifeline is around my neck. I go outside and when I try to walk, it has to be there. The only time it's not is when I have to take a shower but it still stays with me. It's very light and it doesn't really cause a problem. This is nothing against lifeline, but all of a sudden, it will be on and then the beeping stops. And I'm going, "What the heck is that?" And that's the line. It's unbelievable. That's the bad thing.

I’m well pleased with the Philips Lifeline team. We live in a senior housing and it’s a HUD place and they gave us a free one but I could not talk to anybody. I could have had the other one free. But for peace of mind, I’m paying for Philips. My problem is I lose my balance and I fall on the floor. I can’t get to the phone. The firemen come and get me up off the floor. If I don’t talk to them, they’re going to send me ambulance and the fire truck here and I don’t want that. So I pay for mine with Philips for that reason. I can tell them I’m on the floor. I’m not hurt. All I need is help to get up and they don’t come with the ambulance and everything else.

Sometimes there are as much as three or four rings before they pick up and before there’s a connection. And they’re very businesslike. Before, I had a different company, and the person that answered the phone and I talked to stay with me until the firemen got here. Philips does not do that. And that was really reassuring to have someone talking to me until they could get here. I know what their system is but I think that will be a big help. When there’s an emergency, you want to feel like someone cares. The customer service was better because they stayed on the line with me. I appreciate the help they give me but I think it could be a little bit more personal. When you fall on the floor and you don’t know whether you've broken a bone or what, you want to feel like someone really cares. I really appreciate having the machine here, that it doesn't make any difference what room I’m in in my apartment, they can hear me and I can hear them.

I just had the assurance I’m going to have help when I need it, because I cannot get up off the floor by myself. I have to stay there until someone comes to lift me up off the floor. I’m 94 years old. I just live with it. If I’m going to church, I don’t like the cord around my neck under my good clothes showing and I take it off, lay it right where I keep the keys on the table. When I come home, I put my keys away, pick up my life button, and put it back on again. I don’t take it off when I take a shower or when I go to bed. I really depend upon it 24 hours a day.

The only complaint I would have is that they’re supposed to call my daughters if this happens and they didn't.

I know one time I was in the garage and I kind of tripped. So that’s when my daughter got busy and said that I was going to have a lifeline. We ordered Lifeline. They come in, we set it up, and once a month we would push the button to activate it. They would reset it and make sure everything was fine. They called when the battery in the necklace was getting low but at that time, Mom had already had to go to the nursing home. She's in rehabilitation right now. She's of an age where she's got what they called Embolism. It's a rare disease. It's kinda like having hard arteries in your heart. It does the same thing to the nerves in your brain cells. And she's forgetful. And she gets a little weak. She has knee problems, which the fall assisting, the necklace, and everything works out great. We know that works because by her accidentally just laying it down a little too fast, it kicked off.

She laid the necklace down when she went to get a bath. She liked to lay it down in there beside the tub. And just letting it drop on the towel there on the floor, we had an ambulance out here wanting to know what was going on. Of course, she was in the bathroom and didn't hear the phone message that asked if she was okay, so they automatically sent an ambulance out here to check on her. And of course they contacted me and my brothers to let us know that they were coming out to find out what was going on. It’s great. I can't emphasize enough the peace of mind it gives you to have that in the house as an older person.

We really liked them. By the middle of May here, we're planning to getting her back home here. And I'm gonna get her brought back in. Now that she's getting to come home, we're gonna get it back in the house.

So that’s been really good. They are always pretty courteous. The ordering process went smoothly. Since using Philips, I have a secure feeling that if anything happens, I just have to press the button and if I’m not in the bedroom where the machines at, and they don’t hear us, that helps on the way. The help button is fine. It’s just worn and you don’t know it’s there.

I've had good experience with Philips Lifeline because it took care of me. I have to be very, very careful, to walk carefully because of my leg. And the thing is that if I stumble, I must immediately push the button and I know that. I've been really cautious and caring for myself. And everybody knows it. Even my neighbors who care for me so very much know that I have it and what I can do and there are names around my tag. I haven't called but once and that was a mistake when I stumbled and went close to it. I've already recommended them.

I call my Philips Lifeline my security blanket because in the night, if somebody would try to come in on me, I'd push that. So it makes me feel more secure by myself, especially in the night. The only thing is I wish it would work out fine if you don't stay in the house all the time. I just wish it would work outside. Philips Lifeline works okay but it's only inside the house. When I go out in the yard or in my porch, it doesn't work there. I would recommend it to anybody who live by themselves. It's good to feel like you're not by yourself. If something happened, you could get them to come and help you.

The Good Samaritan Hospital got some of us older people and signed up four or five of us. I don’t know how they chose me, except that I've been spending a lot of time in the hospital over the years. But other than that I've never even thought about a lifeline until they came and contacted me. I've got so many medical problems that it’s pitiful. It’s developed in the last year, year-and-a-half. It just makes me feel safer because I live by myself. And at my age and stuff and not very good health at all, it’s nice to have that.

One time, they came and replaced something on my lifeline and they sent me a new necklace and I had sent the old one back to them. And they had a technician come and work on the other part of it. I would recommend them to anybody, especially any old person or people with bad hearts or illness and even younger people. Yeah, it’s just a good feeling to know that if I ever fall in the middle of the night, all I have to do is press that button and I can get help. Fortunately, I haven’t had any problems with it. I never had to use it. But I always have it around my neck. This was the one and only medical alert service I've got now. I've never contacted anybody else. This does what it’s supposed to do. I’m satisfied with the lifeline and I hope I never have to use it, but it’s there.

It fits all right into my everyday lifestyle. It is pretty comfortable to wear and easy to use.

I did have difficulties before using Philips Lifeline. I fell one time. When I fell, I was in Houston. I was visiting my granddaughter there. And I was holding my little grandson. He was laughing and I laughed and I just fell completely on the floor. But that was the only time. It was pretty easy to get the Philips Lifeline. My overall experience has been fine. This is my first medical alert. I've had it for a little over two years and I've been very, very happy with it. One of my sons and his wife decided that I should have one since none of my kids live near here and they just felt it was better. They didn't tell me about it until they had the date arranged as to when the person from Philips Lifeline was going to come because they had checked to see if I was going to be home that day and we got it set up. Their guy worked quickly and got everything all installed and working.

It's worked out quite well. Last Friday, when I got home from work, the light was blinking on the thing that you put on the table. And I thought, "Oh, my god, the cat's been climbing again." And I push the button and the voice from the company said that there was a phone off the hook. And as soon as I went to one of my cordless phones and discovered it was not on the base and put it on, it solved the problem. I was just surprised. I don't know how long it had been on because I'd been at work all day but I just was very pleased because sometimes you don't always see a blinking light when you come in and you're doing other things. It could have stayed off the base for quite a while and then the battery could have gone down and so on.

Also, each time that I have been gone to the hospital, and the last time that I traveled, I also in each case notified the company that I wasn't going to be here. Since I have a pet and someone would be coming in to feed the cat, and cats have been known to climb all over everything, I wanted to let them know that if the alarm went off, it's probably because the cat bumped into it. They said, "Call us as soon as you are back". I do think they're an excellent company. Since getting it, I've seen many advertisements and I've known other people that have it. It has a good reputation.

My experience with the Philips Lifeline team has been fine. It's a little expensive but other than that, I don't have any qualms with it. Generally speaking, they call once a month for their check and once or twice in the past some time we've had to use it for emergency purposes. The only drawback is that it's located in one room and they might not pick up a person who fell in another room because of distance. It might just be the way the house is laid out. It's a necessity. We got it because my mom had a stroke and I got it through the hospital here locally so it was easy. As for the technology, there are some locations that it doesn't pick up on. Maybe they have something where you could put an adjoining attachment to it in another room because if you were down, for example, you couldn't hear them call you nor could you get that and hear them actually talk. But it works. I'm very satisfied with the unit. The cost is too high though and I'm not opposed to looking at other avenues or other companies. You evaluate your cost if you need it and if it saves a life, then it's a good deal. I haven't had to use it for that purpose so I can complain about the price. That's the only problem I have.
