    I have not used the Philips Lifeline very often. That’s the first thing which is fine because it’s not in the road. I don’t have any problem at all there. They've been very gracious, more than willing to be helpful. And the people that they send are also helpful. And that’s all they can offer for us.

    You always worry about having a bad fall. That’s just part of it. After all, I’m 78, 79 years old. I’m no kid anymore. You can have bad experiences as you go along and you never know when it can happen. It can happen anytime. So the best thing to do is subscribe to one of them and just go with it on a day-to-day basis. And that’s all I can do. You make changes based on a series of events. Most of the events as far as the Philips thing is if I had to make a change in what I was doing. I only want to deal with what seems to work. And that works just fine. If I need it, it’s there. If I don’t need it, it’s still there but I don’t pay any attention to it. The less junk that you got into your life, the better off you are.

    Being 90 years old, my mother's stability is not real good so getting it for her definitely was something that need to be done. I feel more secure now that she has it and I'm sure she does as well. She doesn't realize it but she does and she wears it all the time. I'm very well satisfied with it. It allows me a lot more freedom because I know I can be contacted immediately. I think everybody should have one.

    I live alone by myself so I got a Philips Lifeline medical alert system. Talking with the reps is very simple. If I signal or want them for something, they answer right up. I tell them who I am and they confirm it, and that’s it.

    Luckily, I've never had to use Philips Lifeline help button. It just sits there and I wear the thing around my neck in case I fall. Once a month, they call me to push my button to make sure it works. I would recommend Philips Lifeline.

    I feel very, very content with my Philips Lifeline. It's working perfectly. Many times I listen to it being tested in the middle of the night so it's working perfectly. I wear it when I'm alone here. My daughter has a full-time job and my son is in and out all the time so I'm alone a lot. My daughter and her husband has a cottage up north so I wear it when they're up there. The girl across the street is signed in as one of the people who would be notified, and she's home mostly all the time because she's retired and she's home a lot. And if not, her husband is home and her mother is home too. So I have plenty of help if I should need it. In fact, I'm questioning whether I need it or not. But it's nice to know it's an option. And my daughter says she feels better that I'm using it when she's not here. I feel more secure with it.

    I'm a caregiver for an elderly man who's wheelchair-bound and lives alone. At nighttime, he's by himself. The Philips Lifeline medical alert system has given us the peace of mind that if he did have a problem when no one was here, he'd be okay. He's never had to use it once but every so often, it will make the call out where we have to reset or do whatever. He'll go in there, push the button and they'll get him a line and talk to him.     My daughter got the Philips Lifeline medical alert system for me ten years ago. It’s a good system and it’s not too expensive. I wear it regularly around my neck, and if I fall or something and Lifeline answers, they're supposed to call my neighbor to come up and check first before they call an ambulance. But I don't wear it to bed because if you turn over and hit it, this voice comes on and it’s really, really loud. Customer service is okay, except that I was supposed to call in on the 11th every month, and every now and then I forget to call, and they don’t call me back and check on me.

    I've had Philips Lifeline for years and years and it's been all right. My daughter-in-law ordered it for me. Thank goodness I've never had to use it and things have come out all right with it. One time we had a little problem and they weren't answering. Also the help button didn't go as far as I'd like it to go but I happen to have a big yard so I can't go out just so far on the yard. I'd like it to have gone further. But outside of that, everything is all right. The customer service service is good. They pronounce the words easily and I can understand everyone who was ever talked to me. Overall, Lifeline did what they were supposed to do. They were very nice and they reset the thing so it worked well.

    I was advised to get Philips Lifeline when I came out in the hospital because I'll be spending a good deal of time alone. My interaction with Lifeline team has been very good. I only had to use it once, but that was very successful. I woke early morning, went out of the room and I fell down. Once I fall down, if I don't have somebody in the house here to help me up, I can't get up. They informed my caregiver and she came over. It was a very successful conclusion. I'd recommend using Lifeline.

    I don’t even notice Lifeline is there. It used to be plugged in the same line that I had a walkabout phone so that when that phone rang, it gave the Philips a problem. I simply moved the phone and put it on another outlet, and then I don’t have any trouble with it. But I've been in and out with illness for six months in the hospital so I really haven’t even needed Lifeline because I wasn't home. But I’d recommend having Lifeline.

    I love the Philips Lifeline I have. I haven't had any need to use them. One time, I had taken the thing that you wear around your neck, put it in my pocket and went to see my neighbor. I must have pushed it. When I looked out the window, there were police, fire department, all emergency people coming to my house. They couldn't get a hold of me and thought I was in trouble. I thought that was so good. They check on it every month. They buzz me and ask if everything is all right and I say yes. I use it mostly when I'm alone.

    If I go down the cellar, I always wear it because if I fall down the cellar, nobody will find me. When I go to bed at night, I wear it too because if somebody is breaking in or I'm not feeling good, I can just push it. It's a very comforting thing. I know there is somebody there if I get hurt, and I don't have to worry and somebody will find me.

    We don't have any complaints about Philips Lifeline other than the fact that my mother doesn't use it when she should. But we've explained to her that a family member gets called. She's getting better at it but we don't use it a whole lot but she does keep it on her person at all times except for when she's in the shower. We've never had a problem whenever we needed them and the service was there. Everything is fine. The time I'm here, I pressed the button just for a test and they were right on the phone but unfortunately I got some kind of problem going on today, I never noticed that light blinking in there before until I just walked in to look at the machine to see what the name on it was.

    I had a bad experience with the Philips Lifeline team. I was over in my basement garage and I got on my knees and I couldn't get up. I pressed the button two or three times and nothing happened. It didn't carry through. They said it was five years old. That's the only time I used it in the five years I had it, and it didn't help. They did send me a different button but I haven't tried it yet. I strongly recommend Philips Lifeline.

    I had the Philips Lifeline team out here once. They were helpful. I didn't know they were even around here. They came through the doors and said, "Where are you at?" I said, "Right here."     I really don’t like it. It doesn't protect me if I’m away from home. Philips Lifeline advertise so many that you can wear around your neck and it’s with you wherever you go and the one I got isn't like that. I purchased it because a few of my friends had them and they recommended them and I really didn't read it as carefully as I should have in the first place. I just got at the hospital so I've been thinking about getting something else that I can have with me at all times.

    I feel secure having it when I’m at home walking around - it is better than nothing - but It’s not really helping me that much because I live with my daughter, granddaughter, and grandson. There is somebody at home with me almost all the time. But if I leave home, I have nothing.

    I've never had to use the Philips Lifeline device. I check it out whenever I'm supposed to. I put it on the calendar and call in to check it out. But the funniest thing is I find that I take the quickest showers now because I do not want to ever have the ambulance come and those guys have to come in the shower and get me out in the nude.     I haven't used the Philips Lifeline device. I fell before and that's the reason I got the thing in here. I have fallen since then but I was at the yard when I did, and one of the ladies in the second door from us ran and told her mom and she came on down, so I didn't have to use it. I hope I won't have to use it, but it's good to know I do, because I live alone and if I'm out or anywhere, I can still reach them. I wear it around my neck all the time because I usually take a shower with it on. It's got a little button in the middle that you push and then she comes immediately.

    We did test it out when they installed it in. She immediately came in and asked me if I had a problem. And she called me by name. I was outside just to see if it was working okay. I surely feel a lot safer with it. My brother has one too. He fell on the bathtub and stayed five hours; that's why he got one. I do have one other thing it's good for. Because I got phones in both bedrooms and the den, if I leave a phone off, it flashes for a few minutes and then the voice comes on and says, "Your phone is off, your phone is off." I thought that was a good feature.

    The Philips Lifeline device might have saved my life last September. I went out to feed off of my back porch. I went up there and I got to feed a few tidbits to my cat and I fell. And I thought, "Oh, my gosh! What am I going to do?" I live in the country and there's nobody very close to me. The lady across the road never could have heard me but it turned out her husband was mowing.

    Anyway, I pushed that and they notified my daughter and my granddaughter and they were both here. I go it because I thought it would be a good idea when I'm here alone.     I’m 91 and I've had Philips Lifeline for a couple of years. I don't have a lot of money. My church pays for it. The main reason for purchasing it is I’m all by myself. I don't feel alone as long as I got it on my wrist. My experience in interacting with the team has been fine. I push the thing and check on it to see if it’s all right. It happens once a month. Outside of that, I haven't had to use it but I'm glad I haven't had to use it for anything serious.

    The Lifeline team was friendly when I talked to them. I thought it was a little long to get an answer. Of course, you're a little impatient if you're hurt. I can only use this unit at home. If I'm out in the car, it doesn't work. I know there’s a better one that if you’re out, it works too. I wish that it would work outside of the house as well.

    I’m going to be 91 this Monday. I've had a couple of strokes before I started using Philips Lifeline. I was completely crippled and paralyzed on my right side. I'm able to use my leg and work with my arm a little bit now. I haven't had too much experience with Philips because nothing has happened. But every thing's been fine, so long as I've been with you.     Fortunately, there has been no experience other than that I wear the Philips Lifeline device and I haven't needed to use it. They came out and showed me about it. One time I pressed it inadvertently and they came in to the room and said, "No. there's no problem." My wife felt that I should have it. I have just gotten out of the hospital and I was extremely sick. I was in the hospital for 6 months or so. It's probably a good idea. I feel much better having it. I just wear the thing round my neck and ignore it pretty much. It's kind of awkward but I've heard so many stories about people who had lain on the floor for days and such, and I want to avoid that.

    I've used another alert service before but Philips Lifeline took over that group. It was really supplemented or helped by a volunteer group of ladies in Tennessee Christian Hospital here in Nashville. At that time I had surgery in that hospital and found out about the service and when I went home, I started with that group. So after that hospital closed or changed to something else, they had to stop their insurance and they went with Philips Lifeline. This change was made for me. I really didn't know much about Philips but they've been courteous and helpful all the way through it.

    I have not had the kind of emergencies that I needed to use it but one time, just last year, I accidentally caught my button. I always had it around my neck and I was in the bathroom cleaning up and picking up and rang it without realizing it. Between me and a metal bar, the pressure evidently just set it off. And I could not hear well and could not hear from the bathroom that they were talking to me over the bathroom. They tried several times evidently and the first phone call I got, I had my phone with me and got a phone call from the sheriff's deputy saying the ambulance was on the way. I told the sheriff's deputy to immediately cancel the ambulance that I had no need of, that I was fine and unaware totally and the next thing, two policemen arrived at the door. They were courteous and then a friend came from several miles and her name had been on the list of people to call and so she came. All of this was like one to two o'clock at night. They took care of that emergency and good order and it all settled back down as a false alarm but they were gracious.

    This medical alert technology is excellent. Their technology works, and every once in a while there would be something minor like I don't know how to get that button to stop bouncing, going back and forth between the green light and something else, which indicates that a phone is off the hook. And I told him the phones were all working just fine without any problem and she took care of that. I guess it was a reset button. And then another time they sent a whole new set to replace it and we were to send the old one back in, and they gave me instructions so everything has worked out very smoothly. I at one time had investigated to see if I can find anything less expensive because I'm barely on the edge income and didn't find anything, and I'm glad because they have been so helpful in everything.

    Philips Lifeline is always on the ball. I've fallen and instead of pushing them like an idiot, I should punch it. I waited to see if I could get up and then I called somebody over here to help me instead of bugging them. I always think that when you call them, they're going to send the ambulance, and I don't need that. I just need somebody to help me up. But one time, I accidentally punched it. I picked up a box and I didn't realize I did it. I was in one room and heard this voice saying, “Susan **, are you alright?” I’m thinking, “Where in the heck is that coming from?”

    And then when I realized what it was, I came in and I was laughing. I said, “Oh, I'm so sorry. I bumped the box on it. I was picking it up and it bumped it.” And they said, “Well just so you're all right.” They call and ask me to punch my button, it’s time to punch the button, and I do. They say, “Is everything okay?” They always pick on me. I say, “Yes, it’s just fine.” I've not had any bad experience from it all. I'm thoroughly pleased and I have mentioned them to people. I would recommend them. The only thing is sometimes I think if you're having a heart attack, you're going to be gone by the time they get somebody here.

    I'm 90 years old, I live alone. My daughter researched several different lifeline programs and felt that Philips was the best for me. My husband passed away three years ago, and he also had difficulty getting around. We dealt with them both and they've always been very, very good. I fell recently, but I didn't just crash to the floor. I caught myself with my hands and so therefore the alert didn’t show that I had fallen. I was able to call, to press my button, and tell them that I just needed help getting up. That worked very well and they did call back and check on that. They were concerned about the fact that it hadn't worked, but it was just the fact that I hadn't had a hard fall.

    The service we've had with them is very good. They were always available and very courteous and friendly. They would call back and see that I had been taken care of, if we got good service. Fortunately, I have a fire station and ambulance within a mile, and so I've become friends with all of them too. So I've got service both from the Philips Lifeline and with them, so we've been very well taken care of.

    My Philips Lifeline is right here all the time. It's like somebody's right here with you. I'm not here alone all the time but when I am, you're not alone. I would have bled to death the last time I fell without Philips. Instead I've had this on. Even my kids feel better with it on me because they can't be here all the time. It should have come out years and years ago to help elderly people. Some don't even have to be elderly to have it.

    They're always nice. Though it takes them too long. I have fallen three times and my hips has gone out and you're in such horrific pain that you can’t wait. You've got to have something done immediately. With Philips Lifeline, I know there’s always going to be somebody there. I do feel like they could be a little more professional in the way they handle the situation. Overall, they're pretty good and have always taken care of whatever I needed.

    I have recommended Philips Lifeline to a number of friends. I wear the alert when I go out working in the yard. One time it fell down in front of me and then somebody came here with an ambulance. The other time, I didn't hear the phone when you called. I came in the house with five firemen in my kitchen. They were nice and friendly but I felt sorry for them to make a trip. It wasn't necessary at all. But I feel well taken care of and it’s nice to know that I can get in touch with somebody if I'm on the side of the road or if something happens.

    They took 20 to 25 minutes to get to me. I was on the floor and I had to eventually get myself up and I would yell over the speaker, whoever I’m talking to, the machine, and I tell them, “I could be dead by now by the time you people come.” I think Philips Lifeline can improve a little better and get to the person on time quicker.

    We have been customers just over a month after my mother took a fall and we decided we needed a medical alert system. We went for the auto fall detection service which worked great in the instance leading up to my complaint. My issue is that, only one contact attempt was made to inform me that my mother was sent to the ER. I had just switched phone providers and voice mail was not yet set up, so they could not leave a message and at the time they called, I was driving in an area with spotty service and missed the call. I found out about the emergency 2.5 hrs after the fall occurred from a neighbor, calling to see if everything was ok after seeing the ambulance in the driveway. By this time, my mother had already been released and was sitting in the emergency room lobby waiting for someone to figure out she was there.

    I have had a very positive experience with Lifeline. I have had to press the button several times when I fell or felt dizzy. They were great and very helpful in responding, contacting rescue services and contacting my emergency contacts. They are helpful and fairly prompt in responding, and I am very satisfied with their service. I would consider changing services only to get GPS service.

    My mother decided to return the Philips Lifeline. I don't like how she was treated whenever she called the company. They demanded she pay the shipping charges and to do it by a deadline or pay $400. Mom is almost 92 and cannot drive anymore. She was stressed out for over a week over the whole matter and the rude way she was treated. It is terrible to treat the elderly such as she was treated. She finally got the thing returned and it was a terrible experience for her.

    We have had Life Line for 4 years and just recently finally used it with very disappointing results. My mother pushed her button because of a very high pulse rate of 150. She has atrial flutter that can cause a stroke. The Life Line representative came on the line and asked if she needed help. My mother responded yes, but the representative said, "Okay, I'll reset your alarm." My mother repeated, "No, I need help," and the representative again said, "Okay, I'll reset your alarm." This happened 3 times before the representative said "Okay," and started asking the emergency questions.

    We have only a 1400 sq. ft. single story home with two Life Line receivers more than they advised we needed. She tests monthly and never had problems with hearing issues at testing. Next was the bad part. The representative hung up and said someone would call back. Another rep did call back and advised 911 was on the way - but she hung up too. No Life Line rep was on the line to acknowledge that emergency response actually arrived to help. They had not attempted to call my mother back at home to until emergency had arrived, assessed her problem and taken her to the hospital. So when Life Line finally called back (over 45 minutes later), of course, no one was at home.

    I got a call from Life Line 50 minutes after my mom first pushed her button telling me they didn't know where she was! Can you image how frightening a call like that would be? Luckily, I received the call while already at the hospital with my mom. My name was the only name on Life Line's first to call list! It was only because a neighbor contacted me (on the same phone number Life Line had) when the paramedics arrived. This way I knew what was going on and allowed me to meet the ambulance at the hospital. Life Line should have been the one to inform me promptly and correctly.

    What would have happened if there was a screw up and emergency responders didn't arrive? Life Line would not have known. When I asked this question to the Life Line Customer Service Rep, I was advised that it was the Emergency Responders' responsibility to call in and let Life Line know they had arrived or if the emergency responders did not arrive - my mother should have pressed her button. What if she was unconscious? I have not paid either the Emergency Responders or my mother $50 a month for 4 years! It certainly was not their responsibility.

    Yesterday, we took the equipment back to the local Life Line office and cancelled our service. I did miss returning the necklace and have put it in the mail today. I have to say the local customer service representative has been very kind; it wasn't her fault. Luckily, the incident did not result in a disaster, but it well could have and given me a heart attack in the process if my neighbor hadn't been there.
