My son is with me for a little while but when I'm by myself, I feel relieved knowing that I can use my Philips Lifeline. I'm getting used to wearing it all the time, which was the hardest thing for me. I thought when I take a shower, I needed to take it off very carefully. But he said 'Don't you take it off when you take a shower' so I don't. Sometimes I hit it over my sink or something. It's not the right length and I believe I need to raise it up a little more. A nurse put a knot in it so it would be shorter and I might have to get her to put another knot in it. But there's very slight chance for me to hit my cabinet if I'm doing anything in the kitchen. Once in a while it will just hit when it's swinging but I try to keep it down inside my clothes so I don't set it off anymore than I need it to.
The people from the Philips Lifeline team are very kind. I like to kid them once in a while and I say 'You know what? I'm always sort of setting this thing off more when I'm by myself because I know you're going to talk to me.' They just laugh but everybody I've talked to are just very nice and very understanding. I wouldn't ask for anybody to be any better and I tell people about it when I'm around them if they're older. I tell them what I've got and that they might want one. My daughter got this for me and she's paying for it on my checkbook because she's paying my bills. When she thinks that her mama needs something she thinks that she needs, she sees to it that I get it. She's pleased with the Lifeline too.

When I came home after the operation I somehow fell into a Philips Lifeline. Somebody from the hospital wanted me to have one, and it did work once when I came home from the hospital. I slipped and fell and I was in a sitting position. Because it was a new hip, I didn't roll to the stairs but I couldn't get up so I called them and they were here in no time. They were two strong men and they pulled me up. They're the local ambulance people, friendly and nice. But I wish it would be cheaper. If somebody wants to spend the money I guess it's good if you live alone. And it works like a cellphone and has too much radiation. I don't know if I want that hanging around me all the time.

The Philips Lifeline I bought for my mother saved her life three weeks ago. I got one for her a year ago that has the sensor if there's a fall. She did have a bad fall and was knocked unconscious. Philips got the signal that she had fallen. She never pressed anything but just the sensor and she would have died if she didn't have that on. I'm really glad she has that.
I also have one. I'm basically bedridden with spinal tumor. I'm home a lot alone so buying the lifeline was a smart thing to do. The Philips Lifeline team has always been wonderful when I inadvertently hit the button. Automatically I get a call and when I call to do the test, it is always on immediately and they're always very courteous and just superb. I've recommended Philips Lifeline to many people who have gotten it after and I know that even their visiting nurses have recommended it too after I told them the story about my mother.
Thank you for the positive review, Kathleen! We are pleased to know our representatives were courteous each time you had contact. We appreciate knowing our customers feel our service is reliable, comfortable, and convenient. We hope both you and your mother are doing well, and please press your button if any help is needed. Take care

I don't get around very well. I fall a lot and then I can't get up so I need help getting up. That's why I got a medical alert device. I fell on the floor and I can't get up the other day. I'm glad it wasn't serious. When I called Philips Lifeline, whoever answered, the dog was barking. When the phone rang, my dog started barking so whoever was answering didn't understand what I was saying because I was in the other room. She just let on like it was alright and she would call again.
Good thing I wasn't in any dire need. I was sitting on the floor and I thought I'll just wait until the kids come because they will be here in just a very few minutes, which they did come. I just thought it was kind of strange that she just got off the phone because she couldn't hear me because I was in the other room. So that was just an incident. Aside from this experience, it has been fine and pleasant. They do what they say they will do and I'm pleased with it. I didn't hurt myself until this last time and this last time, I ended up in the hospital for 5 days. They've done what they needed to do which is getting my kids here to help me.

What Philips Lifeline does that comforts me is while I'm waiting for the paramedics to get here they talked to me and tell me they're not going to leave me. And that I'm supposed to let them know when the paramedics come and they carried the whole process through until the paramedics told them that they're going to take me to the hospital. Most of the time that's where I end up - in the emergency room. I think I'm on the mend somewhat. They've been great. It gives me confidence and security because I live alone and it's just nice to know that the help I need is just a push of a button away.

I’m 82 and my husband insisted I get a Philips Lifeline. At the other house where we lived before we moved I fell and broke three ribs going down to get the paper on the ice. Then there was this one time I slipped on the wet grass and the neighbor came out and I called her to come help me get up. I didn't have anything broken that time. Also, I fell on the kitchen floor. I got new rugs and I'm trying my best to keep my house safe.
For a while I wasn’t wearing the button too often but now I'm wearing it almost all the time. Since having it, I've used it twice. Both times I was in bed. I had low blood sugar and I called my husband. He came in and took care of me and he called the Lifeline. Then the second time I called and I told them to call my husband on the phone because I was calling him, he didn’t hear me. Both times it took me to the hospital to be checked. I’m getting along fine now. I would recommend Philips Lifeline to somebody if I thought they needed them. But most of my friends are younger than I am. The only thing I keep thinking is that if my husband could take over and wear it. Because he'll be the only one in the house when I'm gone and I just would like for him to have something.

My mom who has congestive heart failure pressed the button expecting an ambulance to be called/dispatched to her home… Never happened! 57 minutes later, a Lifeline CSR called myself to see if everything was OK. Thank God my mom called myself right speaking with a Lifeline CSR to tell me that her heart was in distress and she was having extreme difficulty breathing.
I called 911 to have an ambulance dispatched believing I was duplicating the efforts. Well, had I not called my mom would not have survived and we would have been planning her funeral. I live 10 minutes away, raced over while I was on the phone with BC Ambulance Service and sprayed nitro which saved my mom’s life. Spoke with Mathew at Lifeline Canada who verified that the CSR did not follow the very well written notes along with DID NOT CALL FOR AN AMBULANCE!

I feel more secure with Philips Lifeline. Whenever you press the button, their representatives are always friendly, knowledgeable, nice and helpful. I'm 85 years old and I took a fall and laid myself up for a while. After that the kids said they were getting a medical device. They got one and placed it around my neck. I didn't want it to begin with because I didn't want to admit that I was old enough to need something like that. It takes a bit of your pride away but then after you get used to it, you don't want to be without it. You just put it on and have it there in case you need it. If I did fall again, I would be able to get help and get a hold of my kids.

I've never really needed to use Philips Lifeline so far but my children thought I should have something and also because my daughter was working at Philips at the time of purchase. I did use it once a couple of years ago and they worked very nicely. They came and gave me a ride to the hospital and they found I was perfectly alright. It works very well and is also very easy to use.
However, my experience with their customer service team was different. I fell over my dishwasher a few weeks ago and it didn't trigger the Lifeline at all. I bumped into something and got bruised. When I did call to make sure the Lifeline was working, I got a very unpleasant response from the guy that answered. He kept shouting at me, "How long were you on the floor?" I wasn't on the floor. I just fell over the dishwasher but didn't fall on the floor. I didn't like that very much. I was thinking of complaining about that but couldn't seem to explain to them that I didn't fall on the floor.
I wanted to see if it was working or if I'd get a response. After I did it, I thought, "That's funny, it didn't trigger any response from the Lifeline." The customer service is rather poor for that person who answered my call. I didn't feel like he was listening to what I was saying. That was one of the problems and he just kept on yelling at me, and explained that you have to be on the floor for a certain length of time before it triggers. That's the only thing I didn't like.

Philips Lifeline has saved me a few times. I was falling a lot and broke both ankles and a femur on separate incidents. I've had to use it because my sugars got so low. I don't walk at all so I'd have to be able to reach somebody and get help. Since I've had it, I feel safer doing things and even when my husband would leave me alone for a couple of hours to go take care of some errands. Talking to them has never been a problem at all. They're very polite and friendly. The person on the other line wants to know what my issue is and if I want them to call an ambulance or what I want them do. It's not like when the alarm goes off, here comes the ambulance. I can call them and say I just need my husband to go home. I'm getting real good at using it. It also keeps my son updated so he gets information. It makes life doable again.

I live by myself and have to go up and down the stairs. There's always the danger of falling so I got the Philips Lifeline after my husband was killed in auto accident. I called on the phone to order it and I wear the necklace. I'm an active person and I was out trimming my strawberry. I couldn't get this one limb to cut so I decided I would stand on it and use my weight to help bend it so I could cut it. As soon as I stepped on it, it sprung to me right up in the air. Thankfully, I didn't hit the house because I was close to it. Just as soon as I got up on my feet my phone was ringing and it was Lifeline calling to see if I was okay. They called all the people and I let them know that I had fallen. The Philips Lifeline team are very good and always very polite. And I'm not certain my garage is detached from my house. I'm not certain that if I needed it in the garage which is where I fell previously, that it would even work. I'm probably not going to keep Philips because I don't think that it's useful. Here in the house, I can call through the phone. And when I'm outside, that's the reason I got it so I could be outside in the summertime. But then I find out that it really won't carry outside. The one that would carry outside is pretty expensive. I'd be better off just taking my chances.

The sales representative for Philips Lifeline was very polite and explained everything. Of course, she told my daughter also so that two heads are better than one. They brought this all in because I had lung cancer and my immune system went way down and they didn't want me to fall. I live alone in my home and have been self-sufficient and did not have any problems except when I got this lung cancer. I'm cancer free right now.
The Philips Lifeline team has always been very efficient. They have answered any questions very well, and been very polite in every way. When I came home from the rehab center, everything was all set up. My daughter put the bracelet on my arm and explained everything to me as they explained it to her. Then they called to check to make sure that I understood everything, which I thought, was very nice. I'm still wearing the bracelet and I pray to God I don't fall. Not all people that live alone need this but if they've had an issue or their balance is not good, it is a very safe thing to have. I do feel safer with this little bracelet/watch on my arm.

So we just lead him where he wants to go. Marshall does pretty good with the Philips Lifeline. He had a little experience in some way. He had this flu that was going around and he got tangled up. He went to bed and got tangled up in the bed with it and bumped it and they came real soon and we just explained that he had laid down with it on and he got against it and made it go off, that there was nothing wrong. They were real friendly. They didn't seem to get upset. They're really eager to help.

Dorothea has limited mobility that's why she got the Philips Lifeline. She's been out of the home for the two months and we have the device back home. We tested it the other day and it's available to work. One of the difficulties I have is that we probably get 3 to 4 phone calls from people trying to sell us lifeline for a similar system and I don't really know how to make them stop because she gets panicked every time the phone rings and half the time she's trying to get to the phone. So it's almost inducing a greater opportunity for her to fall. She has to go to the phone periodically. But overall, I would recommend the lifeline. It's comforting to know that that option is available, that someone can hear when she needs help.

I'm an old woman who have had both knees and one hip replaced, and have back trouble. This is my first experience in using such a device. Home Help ordered this for me and they were the one who set it up.
One day I went out the back door and had my wheelchair or walker and turned that knob that locks the doors. I was going out with a basket of clothes and accidentally locked out in the laundry area. I wasn't able to walk to our neighbor's house because it's a little distance near anybody. I was able to get in contact with the machine and they called my husband to come and let me in the house. Customer service was good and did what they could. I feel like I'd probably be alright without the Philips Lifeline but my children and husband says I got to have it in case I fall or something.

The door was locked and the kids couldn't get in. I called them and they got me help, offered me an ambulance and everything. I don't need it very often but they call me about once a month to see if it's still working. I'm glad to have it and my kids are all glad that I have it. The only objection I have is it's just good here at the house. If it's farther out down the store or a friend's house, it wouldn't work. It's only good up to my yard gate where my mailbox is.

I read about the Philips Lifeline in the AARP and I said that it seemed like the one and I like the idea that it would record if you had fallen and didn't push your button. I've had it over two years now. I've had open heart surgery and two valves replaced, and been in rehab. These all happened in the year 2014. It's been very helpful for me to have it and for my family to know that I have it around my neck. I did have a fall in my bedroom and did not push the button. When really I realized I had fallen, what transpired was a Philips operator called me and asked if I had fallen and needed help and I said yes. The EMTs and my family and the neighbors and everybody were here within minutes.
Installation was easy. I installed it myself. I did not need any help. As long as you have the electrical outlet and your telephone outlet together, you are all set. Just follow the directions. When I first started, every middle of the month, I would test but then I found out that they kept pretty close tabs on you. It was a year ago this month after I came home from rehab, I had cleaning people come in and they had moved my stationary bike that I had exercised on for years and I did not notice it. When I walked by, there was a cord and that tripped me. See, I wasn't expecting that. I did have a fall and they responded. It was lucky that I had it mainly because I was not near a telephone. I practically advertised after that one thing up and down my street because I live in a 55 and above community.
At this point, using Philips Lifeline is an automatic thing. I put it on in the morning when I first get up. I do not sleep with it because I'm a very restless sleeper and did not want to have punched the button during the night and it wasn't intentional. I have it right beside the bed and I know that it's there. It's not uncomfortable to wear. It sort of fits between my chemise and the bra so it doesn't work its way around like a necklace. I feel secure with it and it's nice to know. I wish it went further. 200 feet is not that far. I don't feel as though I am protected if I'm walking up the street with my rollator walker.

I got a medical alert device as a chum thing with my neighbor across the street. Her daughter was getting one for her and I decided to be a buddy and get one, too. I was less than 70 when I got it and in very good health at that time. My husband is two years older than I am and he has had lung problems before. If anything happened to my husband, I would use it as well. So I had that dual purpose.
The experience with Philips Lifeline has been very wonderful and very good. And the thing that I like the best that I didn’t expect was I had fallen two times. Both times, it was when I was walking a boxer who is big and strong. I was surprised that after I fell and called for the help to come they came, that didn’t surprise me but what surprised me was that they called both of our daughters. That was a very good service that I had not expected to have. I was very pleased that they did call the daughters and let them know I was okay. I appreciated that very much. Also, we haven’t had any falls at home so that was good. It is a useful security thing for anybody old. I would highly recommend Philips Lifeline to anybody that’s getting on up in age.

Luckily they were able to get my neighbor the first time. I came home in the middle of it the second time. The third time, they had to break down my door to get in because they couldn't reach me and it was just not good. I called the lady and she wouldn't admit that anything was wrong but told me if I insisted, I could send the thing back and they'd give me a new one. I thought, "Oh thank you very much!" So I did and everything was fine after that. The fact that she wouldn't admit that possibly there could be a reason for the device going bad was the only thing that still sticks with me. It was the device because they sent me a new one and I've not had a problem with it since.

It frightened me just for a few minutes because I didn't realize that I had even touched the button. We got a medical service device because my daughter and I didn't like the idea of being alone. My daughter was living in South Carolina at the time. She sent Philips Lifeline up as a gift and I kept it up. I love it. It's wonderful. I've used it three or four times. I really rely on it. When you're all alone and you can't do what you normally could do, I get up. I have Parkinson's and I've been falling for the last 3 weeks really hard. I haven't had to use my caller yet because there have been people around to help me, but they're there for me. I have to have Philips. I'm holding it in my hand before I'm sleeping. The next thing you know, they're calling me and saying, "Can we help you?" I learned now to keep it on my neck and keep my hands from myself.

She has it because she has COPD, liver disease, hepatic encephalopathy, diabetes and high blood pressure. There was a sense of security using the lifeline and she has actually used seven times.

I wear rhe Philips Lifeline around my neck but I haven't used it since I've had it. My daughters got me this without me knowing it. I'm satisfied with it except for when I'm out. When I'm going out, it doesn't work very far away from my house.
Reviewed Nov. 17, 2014
I'm getting ready to get rid of the Philips Lifeline. When I first got it, I thought it would cover me outside and inside the house but it only covers me inside the house. If I were a person that stayed in the house and don't go out, that would be good but I go out. So, that's no good for me and it's very expensive. I have had problems financially so I'm trying to get a house phone and send them back the equipment and pay them what I owe slowly. And then I'm through with Lifeline. I wouldn't even recommend Lifeline to somebody that's active that's still disabled and handicapped. If they were not active, then Lifeline is good. Also they call me at 11 o'clock at night. I happened to get up to go to the bathroom, and I might go to the kitchen and get something to drink, and I see this thing flashing. At 11 o'clock at night they want me to hit the button and call them.

I'm by myself and I have fallen already. My children felt that I needed the Philips Lifeline. Since having it I just feel more confident. I know that if I need it, I can get help in a hurry. I have had help twice from the firemen to get me off of the floor and everybody was very, very nice. I've had no problems with it. I really like the way the ordering process was done before where you got your coupons and you send it in. Now I have letters that says that they will be billing me. Frankly I don't think that's necessary because I know when I have to pay it. But other than that, Philips worked like it should. Their customer service team is great and I got help right away when I needed it. They checked with the family. Everything was great.

I’m getting older that’s why I need a medical alert device. I didn’t like the company that I used before or their price so I switched to Philips Lifeline. The people are friendly and helpful when I call them. They’ll keep asking me if I’m okay. When they installed it, they were friendly too. When I fall or anything, I can push the button and it goes right in and they all call me and say, “Do you need any help?” I would do that to check the system out. When my husband was alive, I had to use it several times because he was a big guy and I couldn’t pick him up. And it would go to the fire department and they'd come here. They sent me a new system and I sent the old one back, but I have not checked this system yet to see how it’s working. I would tell somebody if they needed a system, I would let them know about this company.

I fell three years ago and hurt my knee, and ever since then, I haven't been able to walk. I'm morbidly obese and can't walk. Since using Philips Lifeline I'm more secure. Last week, I fell and pushed the button, and here they came. They're excellent. They call or sometimes beep and they say, "Please call to check it," and I do. They're wonderful and very well-spoken. I can't complain. I just wear it around my neck under my clothes. At night, I put it right at my bedside because I'm afraid to choke myself. Most of the time I don't even know I have it on. I really appreciate it because there have been times when I dropped the phone and I can't get to it, and it's been a lifesaver because I can use my Lifeline to get to the phone. It's been a blessing and has helped me about four times. It's excellent.

This is why I use Philips Lifeline. I feel safer if something happens. I'm taking my showers now like I should. I can get in the shower with it on and not have to worry that if I fall, I won't be able to contact anybody, so I feel much safer and more confident. The help button is convenient and comfortable to use. You don't even know it's there until you need it. I have a wheelchair now, and can go to other rooms and know that it's still going to work in case of an emergency, so that's good.
The Philips Lifeline team has been wonderful. I have hit the button several times by mistake, and they are so cordial and nice. They never get frustrated or upset for your calling for no reason at all, and I really appreciate that. I'm very pleased with them. I wouldn't want anybody else. I have diabetes and have had some very low blood sugars. I live alone and I'm 90 years old. I have some other health issues and my family and I thought I needed a medical alert device. I've had to use it a couple of times and I was very grateful that I had it. The first time I needed it, I fell out in my garage and broke my hip. It was a Saturday afternoon and everybody was gone. So if I hadn't had that on, I could have laid there for hours. I was taking groceries in and I had opened my storm door and locked it open. I pushed my button and it was just a matter of minutes until I had help. The people I have spoken with on the phone were very friendly.
The other time that I needed it, I woke up on my kitchen floor and I didn't remember anything. I laid there for several hours, but I pushed my button and the lady at the hospital asked me if I wanted an ambulance or if I wanted someone to come first. I told her if I had some help I could get up, but I was not able to pull myself up. It was just a matter of taking that friend's time to get here, and I had help. And then the Lifeline people called back. They gave her time to get here and see what was going on. Soon as I got some food in my stomach, I was okay then.
I have the button on my wrist and I never take it off. I used to take it off to shower, but they told me never to take it off. It would dry right out and everything. I wear it like a bracelet. However, the communicator unit has a limit to how far away I can use it but it worked for me so far. I have two friends that have gotten them because of my experience. And they know that I might not be here if I hadn't had that on when I broke my hip.

I live in a five bedroom house, my son lives with me but he was not there at all time. He found me unconscious laying on the floor for 4 hours because he had left and said that he would be back shortly. So my kids thought that I needed some kind of device when he wasn't there but that didn't work out because I fell again and went in to the hospital because I was unable to push the button. Then passing out, I had no control pushing the button on my wrist until I woke up. So then after the two hospitals we had noticed that Philips Lifeline had the necklace device where then if I should fall and I couldn't push the button, it would monitor me lying there and then someone would come. So right now I've had a fall but I was able to get up and I didn't have to use the button. Lifeline had called me that day that I had fallen but I didn't have the necklace then. I feel though if I should fall and I'm able to get up then it was no use calling these guys. Then the machine started to go crazy, blinking and blinking and the necklace that they had sent me they said that it was defective and that it needed a new battery. So they had to give me a new battery plus the wrist band.
Then my wristband shredded after 3 years of using it everyday and then Philips Lifeline came up with a device that I wear around my neck that if I should fall they would be able to monitor me. That seems to be working okay. Then my machine was going off and on and off and on and I couldn't imagine why it was going off and on. Then They called me and told me that I had a bad battery so they replaced that. Right now I haven't had any trouble, thank heavens. I live in a senior citizen complex so as long as I stay within the range that they tell me, I'm okay but if my son goes to work then I'm in the house all by myself. So the only thing that I have to help me is my dog or my lifeline.

Since I moved, I considered giving up my Philips Lifeline, which I’ve had for several years. However, my son absolutely forbids it. He said he felt very comfortable with me having that Lifeline.
I've never needed it as far as needing the Lifeline. But just recently, I had my knee replaced and of course I'm a little bit wobbly. It just makes me feel more comfortable having this lifeline around my neck -- just knowing that if I do fall or if something happens, I can push the button wherever I am. So far, the only interactions I’ve had with Philips Lifeline are when I check in every month to make sure everything is working. I also call them to let them know when I'm going to be gone for a period of time. And every time I've had to call them, which I do occasionally, I've always had good response. I believe their technology works fine.

I'm 94 and I have a few problems. I have a pretty bad arthritis and my children insisted that I have Philips Lifeline. The team tests the device twice a month and the representatives are always nice and helpful. The help button is alright. It’s comfortable and easy to use. Lifeline is very good. I feel very safe.

Philips Lifeline came in real handy when my husband was still living cause he went to the hospital so much. The kids wanted me to have it too, so I keep it. I haven’t used it myself, but I used it for him when he was living. It was really nice. Their people were real nice. The service got here quick. I would recommend it to a friend.

The last two or three years I've been falling a lot. My daughters wanted me to have the Philips lifeline so they got one for me. I feel safer having it. It's really good to have and would recommend it to a friend.

The Philips Lifeline is fine.It saved my life three times. No problems. I've gone to the hospital in an ambulance by pressing the button. I have a bad hip that kept popping apart. The team is real nice but the only thing is I wish they'd answer a little faster. It's 'Hello?' and then you have to wait a few minutes and with your hip falling apart you don't want to wait a few minutes. Still it's a very good product. I couldn't live without it. I may be ordering one for my mother but I got to check around about that because she's way in the country and she's 93.

I hadn't had no problem with my Philips Lifeline. I'm disabled and I've had dizzy spells and when my husband has to go somewhere, he's afraid something could happen to me while he's gone and he just felt better with me having it. One time, I accidentally pushed the button by mistake and they came. However I'm supposed to be able to call them and have it not disconnected because we'll be gone for like three months and they're not supposed to charge me for those three months. But overall, I'll recommend it.

I would and have recommended them. I got the Lifeline because I once fell and my kids wanted me to get it. So now I wear it on my wrist all the time (I have it on in there because I didn't want it around my neck.) No matter where I'm at I have it on. I've never had to use it, thank goodness but one time my granddaughter hit it by mistake when I was coming in the door. I think I had one girl come and see whether it's working alright. That's been a while ago. She was very nice.

I had to have the Philips Lifeline because I almost died. That's why I've got it. I feel much better having it as I live alone. It was very easy to order and the gentleman was here a couple of days later. The lifeline team was very good and very nice.

I had to call 911 twice because of heart problems so my doctor suggested that I get the Philips Lifeline. So far I haven't had to use it but the fact that I have it and I live alone gives me a sense of security. I'm glad I have it. One time I accidentally hit the button. They came right away and said, "What can we do? Can we help you?" I said, "I'm sorry I accidentally hit the button," and they said "Okay. Thank you." They were very kind and very nice. I've had a good experience. I recommend it to all people who live alone.

My experience with Philips Lifeline has been good. I haven't had any problems so I haven't called them. I have multiple sclerosis and my tendency was to fall, so I needed a medical alert device. I've told people about Philips Lifeline and I suggested they use a medical device. I’d recommend them. I haven't had a problem.

I've got that COPD. I can hardly do nothing. You get out of breath and get smothered. I have to take breathing treatments and oxygen. I'm not able to get out and walk anymore. I was in the hospital with pneumonia. When they released me the doctors put me on something I could call in emergency. Before using Philips LifeLine I had nothing. I had to call 911 for an ambulance to take me to the hospital. One time I accidentally pushed it and the nurse came out and said 'What's wrong?' I said 'I'm sorry. I accidentally pressed it.' But when I pushed it, they came out, and then if I needed help they would get somebody. That's a very important thing. I would recommend Philips LifeLine to anybody because I see a lot of people who are sick and don't have that.

I have no problems with Philips Lifeline. I just never had to use it. The only thing that's kind of annoying is when they call to have it battery-tested. Sometimes, that call is kind of an interruption; it's loud and I'm not thrilled with that.

Philips Lifeline helped me March a year ago. The lifeline team has been fine because I got immediate help when I needed it. I was hoping they were gonna get the GPS positioning deal so it would help me outside of the house, not just in the house because I keep falling. I need something that's gonna take care of me out and about. I was told that they were working on a GPS system, but I haven't heard anymore. If it doesn't happen in the next several months, I'm gonna switch. Since I'm out and about, I need it more than just in the house. Also, something that needs to be put in the literature is “When you go in and take the shower, if you have the TV on, mute it” because if you’re in the shower and you fall and you got the TV on, you’re not gonna hear somebody calling from the shower.
We are glad to have been there for you when you needed help back in March. We thank you very much for being a customer with Philips Lifeline. At this time we do not have a release date for our mobile system. Please check our website, www.philipslifelinegosafe.com for more information about the new mobile system. When the product is launched you will be able to view the information our website at www.lifelinesys.com.
We would like you to know if your television is on when you need help while in the shower, and you have trouble hearing us. If we do not get a response, we will send help. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us at the Customer Service Department at 1-800-635-6156. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and please take care!

I got the Philips Lifeline because I get seizures and also fell the other month. I fell in the street and the police came and took me to the hospital. The other week, somebody picked me up the street. I don't know if I had a seizure but I have bad balance. I was in the hospital a few months ago and they told me to use a walker instead of a cane. It's good to have the device because I know that there's help around. I just press the button when I'm in the house and even if I'm outside if I'm close to the house.

The experience was very good. It was efficient and relatively fast. When I called them, I convinced them that I should get to the hospital and it was very good that I did. It was an emergency. The lady said, “We’ll have somebody there to pick you up immediately.” Within a matter of just a very few minutes, I grabbed a few things I thought I might need and they were here at our house. When I got to the hospital, soon after that my daughter appeared at the hospital. I said, “How did you know I was here?” She said, “Oh, the alert system called me.” She said, “That’s part of the service.” That was very nice. I had surgery and the problem was corrected.

I purchased the Philips Lifeline medical alert service for my daughter. She pushes the alert button a couple of times when she's fallen in the middle of the night, and it's always been good. The fire department comes and they call me. I live just a couple of doors down so I'm able to get here before the fire department. Now she had a stroke and I have to be with her all the time, but we're still using it just in case we need it in the middle of the night.
The Lifeline team has been friendly and helpful. My only concern is, and this is a technical thing, it has to be plugged in where the computer line comes into the house. That's in another room. We're not able to plug it in to her bedroom, and because she's deaf, she can't always hear it because it has to be in another room because that's where the computer line is. That's the only problem. Technically if that could be worked somehow someday, that would be good. But other than that, everything is good, from the ordering process to the customer service and friendliness of the staff. We've recommended Lifeline to other people.
