I’m completely satisfied with Philips Lifeline. They keep checking up and have you test it out for them. It’s always worked. But I really never had to use it as such. It’s just a safety precaution so I feel relaxed with it. I’d recommend Philips Lifeline. I have no reason to think otherwise because I haven’t had any bad experience with them.

Because Juanita lives alone and in her 90s, we thought that it was a good idea to have the Philips Lifeline for backup. She's very careful and always wears her little bracelet on and never takes it off, even in the shower. But just a week ago, she had this incident. That was the first time she ever had to really use it. She woke up and was not able to get out of bed. She was having an episode and was able to push the button. It wasn't even 5 minutes before the ambulance was here and we were notified. They got here very quick. The lady could hear her very well, and she could hear the lady talking. So, that was very reassuring. She's very pleased with it.

I've had Philips Lifeline for more than ten years. I was getting older and lived alone, and my daughter thought that I should have something like Philips, so I got one. It makes me comfortable and it makes my daughter happy that I have it. Usually their reps call me once a month to have me test it, if I don’t hear. I also test it on my own. I want to make sure it’s working.

I haven’t had any need to use Philips except one time, a couple of years ago, when I fell. I fell and I didn’t even think about pushing the button. I was more concerned about if I was gonna be able to get up and I hadn’t broken any bones. But apparently the unit sensed that you fall and that’s how I got a call, even though I hadn’t pushed the button. That was good. I did check a while back on one of these that doesn’t charge as much, but they don’t have the capability of sensing if you fall, and they told me most of the time this doesn’t work but I found that it did when I did fall. I just had to replace the unit about six months ago because the battery was bad. I was without it for a short time and I would have liked some help in getting a new one installed, but I did it.

I fell a number of times in the house and I couldn't get up so I decided to get a Philips Lifeline. I'm more careful now but I still needed them a couple of months ago. The last time I slipped going out to the garage I was wearing it and I buzzed them. It was a little difficult to hear but we got through it and they got the firemen here in time to get me up. It's a pain in the neck when I go out, I don't take it off even though it's no good for me outside the house... But if I had taken it off that night, I don't know what I would've done...

Sometimes they've responded a little slowly. I wonder what kind of emergency that is because I'm laying there, I can't move, have to go to the bathroom, and they keep telling me, "We know you need help. We're gonna get it to you soon." And it takes a while. But overall I've been satisfied. I wouldn't be without it that's for sure.

I had an emergency and they took me to the hospital. I was in the hospital two months. They said if my neighbor hadn’t called an ambulance, I may not have made it. Because of that, I decided to purchase the Philips Lifeline medical alert device. Since using it, I’m a lot more confident. I feel more secure with the button. It’s good to know it’s there. I’ve had a couple of misunderstood situations where they called and wanted to know if I needed help, but I said no.

Philips Lifeline has been very good. I've used it four times. One time when I was talking with their operator on the other end, the firemen were at my front door, so it's very efficient. I just wonder why my neighbor who also has Philips always get a call from them to check at her Lifeline while I don't, though I don't mind because I don't want to have them call me all the time to see if it's working. But I am very satisfied with my experience. I only wish that the lifeline would reach further because I can only use it at home. It's limited. I can't even use it when shopping.

The Philips Lifeline is my first medical alert and I'm happy with it. I've been falling a lot. Sometimes I'd fall and there would be nobody around, so I'd have to crawl to get to a phone. I heard it advertised one day, so I called. Now, I'm not as scared of falling as I was because I know I can get help. Every time I call, they've been wonderful, but once or twice, I couldn't reach a phone and they called somebody to get to me, and it's just been wonderful. I'm comfortable with the device - more comfortable with it than I'd be without it. I won't trade them for anybody else. I hope everybody else that gets one feels the same way about it as I do.

The one time I had to use the Philips Lifeline, it was about 1 in the morning. I had slipped in my half-bath, which is very near the front door, so I hit the button. They came on, and were very polite. I said, "Look, here's all I need. Call the sheriff's department, get him to send one person in here because all I need is a hand up [as I was kind of wedged in that bathroom]. I don't need the ambulance showing up." Well, they did that. The deputy came in, gave me a hand up. Before the deputy left, she said, "Now, are you sure you're okay?" Well, I didn't know my jaw was broken until the next day - that's when it started swelling. The next day, I got a call from Lifeline. They wanted to know how I was doing. I said, "I'm pretty much okay." The odd thing about it was they acted like they were upset that they didn't drag the whole EMT around here, etc. That definitely didn't sit right with me and that's been my only negative experience with them.

The device itself can use some improvement. The spring that hangs around your neck needs to be easier to lengthen or make shorter. It's stuck most of the time and that's not convenient.

My daughter insisted that I get the Philips Lifeline medical alert device after I got a pacemaker. I told her I didn’t need it, but she said, “Well, I’m not getting it for you. I’m getting it for me.” So, she made all the arrangements and got it and gave it to me. She has often said that when I’m wearing this, she doesn’t have to worry about me. I’ve worn it around my neck ever since. Fortunately, I haven’t had to use it all these years and I’m grateful for that.

I had to call the Philips Lifeline team a couple of times in the past because when they did their monthly call and check, it wouldn’t go through. They said, “We’re connecting you with somebody,” and then nothing happened. So, I called and asked what’s going on. I was concerned that I was not getting any answer. But whatever it was, they got it worked out. I would recommend their service. In fact, I have already recommended it to 2 or 3 people.

I've had nothing but good with my Philips Lifeline. I have needed them once and they were instant. I had a fall a couple of months ago which I'm still not over. I fell on the garage and it was 5 minutes until I heard my sister and brother-in-law coming in the garage. They knew how to get in. And then my daughter-in-law was here so that all come from Philips Lifeline because they contacted them. I had it on when I had the fall in the garage and I had prompt attention. My son and daughter-in-law have gotten this for me, and they have the phone numbers of my sister and my son and daughter-in-law and they got here so quick and then have taken me to the hospital. So I could not have asked for better, quicker response than what I had from Philips Lifeline. Every once in a while, I'd take it off but now I don't even think about taking this necklace off. I'm very pleased and I could not have asked for any better service. I would recommend them a hundred percent to anybody because they have been so prompt when I have needed them. I hope I don't need them anymore but I know that they're like 1 minute away when I do need them. They're instant and so I can't ask for better service.

A few of my friends have the Philips Lifeline and they're pleased with theirs too. I feel more secure that I have it. At least I'll be in touch with somebody in case something happens. I'm by myself and I fell. I'll be 79 and have rheumatoid arthritis and I use a walker when I go out. At home, I don't use it as much, but I did fall and break my arm a couple of years ago. So I thought, it's about time that I did something. When I first got the Philips Lifeline, I got it through the mail. My son-in-law hooked it up. And it was the second night, I was dusting the table where the box is and I hit the button. I didn't know it was an alarm button and they answered right away and I said, "Oh, I'm sorry. It was an accident that I just hit the button by mistake." That's the only time I used it. It's over a year already that I had gotten it. It's still around my neck so wherever I go, it's with me. But I don't know how far I could go with this.

I have dropped the thing and gotten a call because they thought I had fallen so I've learned not to drop it on the floor. And I was exercising one day and they thought I called them and I didn't. The only thing I would really, really, really like to have for this is something that you could take outside the house like a GPS. I wouldn’t have had this Philips Lifeline medical alert device except that they said I passed out. I don’t know what happened. I was cleaning the house, getting everything to the kitchen so I wouldn’t have to run back and forth. And the next thing I know, I woke up. I was about to freeze and the door was open, the lights were on, and it was daylight. They said I passed out. If I did, I slept all night on the floor. They took me to the hospital and the doctor wouldn’t let me leave unless I agreed to wear this medical alert device. Nothing has happened since.

There are very few places in the house I can go to without the walker. If I’m in the kitchen, which is small because I live in a mobile home, it’s easy to reach stuff. So maybe when I’m in here, I don’t use the device, but in other parts of the house, I do use it. I wear the device around my neck.

One time, when one of my little great grandchildren was here, he pushed the button out of curiosity and the Philips Lifeline team came on a run. Their customer service doesn’t take very long. Two minutes would be the longest. I told them what happened and they talked to my great grandson and he thanked them. And that was all there was to it. He wanted to know why I had to wear it. I kept trying to explain that if he pushed that little button, that somebody would answer. I guess he felt he would try it. They were exceptionally nice and very friendly. The lady talked to him and she told him, “Now, don’t punch it again unless something happens.” He says, “Okay.” But it is good to know that he knew what to do because if something had happened, then he wouldn’t have known what to do. But after he punched the button and found out, he could have easily helped.

I had a neighbor who fell on ice and she got hurt quite badly. Like me, she was by herself that day, too. I had to hurry up and get dressed so I could go out and help her. She got up by herself but I went over to help her and the blood was just gushing out. I got 911 right away and they came out and had trouble, too, because the roads were icy. It was an experience that I had seen and I didn’t like the looks of it and I thought, “No, I can’t go through anything like that. When you need help, you need help.” And so, I purchased Philips Lifeline. I got the one for the wrist, because I didn’t care for the one hanging around the neck.

Since I got the Philips Lifeline, I feel a lot more independent. Living on your own, you have to get that feeling. If you don’t, you’re kind of lost. I was fortunate in choosing it. It has helped me out several times. Just recently, I fell and couldn’t get up. I broke four ribs and so I had to go to the hospital. I used my Philips Lifeline button, and the medics were here in about 15 minutes. So that was good. After that, I had to go to rehab for a month.

I’m feeling much better now. I’m getting around okay. I have a walker and I use that off and on. I'm trying to do things on my own, but it still is taking time and I still have a little ache every once in a while but it’s not that much like it was. The Philips Lifeline is a blessing really. I try to encourage other people to get one, they say they will think about it. I’ve had it for many years now. I’m 85 and if I wrote down all the experiences I’ve had with it, it probably will be a small book.

The Philips Lifeline team always gets a hold of me once a month to make sure that I’m doing okay. It’s great. I feel very good about it.

I couldn't move so I just kept saying 'Help me! Help me! Help me!' I told him my name and my address and my daughter's name and address and that's all I remember. After that, I was alright.

So I've covered that deficiency which they have no control over. I have control by having them use the telephone. I hang up and then ask them to call. They already know how to reach me. My late son who was an oceanographer was constantly getting things for me because he was all over the world doing underwater filming. He called 3 years ago and said, “You're going to get something, but you got to call Rob and tell him to install it.” I said “Mike, what is it?” He said, “You'll see when it comes.” The doorbell rang and here it was, the Philips Lifeline medical alert device. I said, “Mike, this is ridiculous. I don't need it.” He said, “Yes you do because you could trip and fall in the house and you could lie there and nobody would know it. I want you to have it.” And I have kept it and wear it all the time when I'm in the house. I wear it around my neck even when I take my shower.

Philips Lifeline calls once a month and I always punch the little button to test it. So far, I have not had to use it, neither the one in the den nor the one in the bedroom. I do wish though that it would help me when I’m in the back of my yard. I don't know how that's going to work because the device only goes so far, and that’s it. So, what would happen if I was back down in the yard and punched the button? I won’t be able to talk to them and tell them that I needed help.

Still, I’m very pleased with Philips Lifeline and have recommended it to a lot of my friends. In fact I've given them your number to call.

The first time and the second time they called was in the wee hours of the evening like 3 o'clock in the morning, and I'm sure that it's a matter of different time zones. If you could change anything that would be one thing. We were in the middle of sleep and that made us jump and wake everybody up and think something was wrong. But we've corrected that. We just call on the first of the month and say we're doing our monthly check.

What bothers me mostly is if it's during the night and we have a secure door as one would enter. There's one door and then there's another door that's secured with a key and of course I have mine behind my door. But one has to get in the other door to get into my door. For some reason, I don't know why or what happened, the volume to make the Philips Lifeline device louder or higher is not working at all. Whether I move it up or down, it stays the same level and I have trouble hearing as it is so I don't know if maybe we can get a new one sent out. We like the service. It's nice and convenient. I am blind and unsteady on my feet and my son ordered it for me. He made me get it because he works and when he's not home, he's calling me every five minutes to make sure that I didn't fall down. It gives him peace of mind.

I wear it around my neck. I just put it on and don't notice it half the time. With it, I have less anxiety because not being able to see, it’s a little nerve wracking knowing that I’m all by myself but I navigate the house pretty well. Again, it’s the peace of mind. If I trip or fall, it’s good to know that if the device is on the floor for so many seconds, it goes off automatically. It’s good to know if it’s submerging in the water, it goes off automatically. We do the monthly checks with the lanyard and it takes a long time to connect. It should be an immediate connect almost like when you're pressing a walkie-talkie. That's the only thing. I could be on the floor for two minutes and sometimes just hanging on and hanging on and I've brought that up with them before. When they answer, they’re great. My concern is just the time that it takes for them to answer. Other than that it’s perfect.

I really don't think about it but I'm glad it's there because if there's an emergency, I can call them and they do call two of your children to let them know if they're going to the hospital. The other thing is they call me up once a month or every other month to make sure the device is working and that's important because, once a few years ago, they called me and it wasn't working and we didn't know it. That is useful.

The only negative thing I ever found was once when I lost it they had a really high charge to replace it, but eventually they didn't charge me that much money.

I've set off the Philips Lifeline a couple of times. I was shampooing my hair at the kitchen sink and I had it on, and I leaned over. Evidently it hit the metal corner and it went off. But they were right on the phone. They'd say, "Mrs. **, are you okay?" And I said, "It was me." So far, I've had no problems. I'm incapacitated. I had a stroke and cancer and then a herniated disk removed and a couple of bouts in rehab. My son was living with me but he moved back home, so I thought it might be a good idea. I've had it for quite a while. A friend had told me about it and she heard of it from her doctor.

Philip's Lifeline saved me once. I fell and I had to call. I don't know how they got here all so fast. The time I fell, by that time the police was here, the ambulance was here and they got me to the hospital quick. I'm satisfied with it. I wear it all the time. It's a wonder I haven't punched it in the bed because some of them take it and hang it on the bedpost or something but I just leave it on. Or if I go out, I take it off sometimes because I know it doesn't do me any good out.

I had a heart attack and had my Philips Lifeline since last December. My doctor and my daughter recommended that I get it so I got it. I probably wouldn't have bought it, purchase it, or rented it or whatever I could do except that my daughter was quite concerned. And it made her happier that I had it. It does give me a little bit of confidence because I do spend a lot of time at home. But it bothers me that when I'm out and about, I don't know how well it would work if I was 5 miles from home. Anyway I haven't had use for it but I'm lucky in that respect. The only time I used it was when I was mucking around and hit it by mistake. I got it on my wrist and I never think about it except when I put on a shirt or something and it's in the way again. However I wouldn't say that it's uncomfortable because I got a watch on the other arm and neither one of them seem to bother me.

Something went out and it just wasn't connected right somehow and it wasn't working. And then one of the gentlemen told me one of my lines was not connected right and he described which one I should use, the big heavy black one, and it started to work out okay. Anybody who wants to use it would be very satisfied with trying it out.

My sister-in-law insisted in me getting Philips Lifeline because there was this one time I fell and the only person I could call was her. I did not use any other medical alert service before that because I didn't have any problems; but all of a sudden I got a problem falling, so that’s why I agreed to get it.

I've used it twice, and twice it worked the way as it’s described to me. It fits into my everyday life. It’s comfortable and easy to use. I wear it on my wrist and its waterproof, so I don't even think about it unless somebody says, “What is that?” This system doesn't work very far outside the house. I keep the band on all the time but I don't expect it to go further than just around my yard.

Ordering it was no problem. The only other interaction I had with the Philips Lifeline team was when I was coming in from my car in the garage and I bought groceries in. All of a sudden the Lifeline started beeping, and so I answered the phone and said, “I don't know why that went off, because I didn't press it.” They said, “What were you doing?” I said, “I was just bringing groceries in,” and they said, “Well, that could push on it.” So I didn't know that. Overall, Philips Lifeline is dependable and they're satisfactory, as far as I'm concerned.

I live alone, and I'm 93 years old, and he saw me doing my sheets and standing on a stepladder. I wear my Philips Lifeline all the time, except when I go to town. It's just been the same as always. I've never had any bad thing happen, just the normal.

I'm very fortunate to have lived this long and not be sick or have any problems. Maybe it's my Lifeline that makes me think I'm well-protected, I don't know. I'm very happy with my Lifeline. To check it out, they call me once a month. The voice will come on and then I push my little button and the other voice would come on and he'll say, "Do you have any problems, Mrs. **?" I'd say, "No, they're just testing." He'd say, "Okay," and then he hangs up. They're always very friendly and very nice. They're always here with me if I should ever need it. But I don't wear it around the house if they're with me in there. I'm not sure if I still have service when my telephone is out of order. I have had that experience several times now and usually at night. I see the reset button flashing and I have to reset it to let me know that my phone is disconnected. I have that problem of calling the company in the morning. They come in to see, and there's nothing wrong that they can find so I'm not a hundred percent covered.

The last time I had this problem and I did call to tell them because I was surprised, I got a lot of billing information. I was concerned because they were taking my time to let them know that my phone was not working and it turns out what I had to do was call Bright House but I had to tell them, too. My only concern is that I want to be covered a hundred percent by some way. If my phone is disconnected, I'm out. And of course it's only around my house so it's not like now they're advertising that you can wear it anywhere. They were offering that before. They say you can be overseas with it. If I leave the house, I don't have to wear it. Mine is strictly around the house.

And they used to call too to find out if it’s working right but I guess now they can keep track of it electronically. The only thing is, which I kind of wonder... I live in an apartment building... what happens if I fall when I go outside to the mailbox and such... It does carry a few feet from outside or upstairs and the way it is now, I like it, but I wouldn’t mind if it was farther.

One thing I will have to compliment them for is they replaced it when something was wrong with the machine. and the only thing I had against it was I figured that they were charging too high. I’ve told them it was too high. But they did lower it.

My Philips Lifeline is off. It says reset. I pressed the button and they said there's nothing wrong with it, but it still says reset. I'm wondering if it's going to come on or not if I press it. They called me back and told me it was okay but it's not okay, because I've had two falls already and ended up with strokes on both of them. I don't want to end up with a third stroke because it will probably kill me. They've been very prompt. Anytime I had to press the button, they were here in 5-10 minutes. I've only had to call them twice, but both times, they were great.

I forgot I had the Lifeline, and when I fell the first time, I called my daughter. I said, "I'm on the floor. I can't get up." I didn't get concerned until I fell the first time. I live alone but I live in a big complex, all seniors, so there is always someone to call in here. But I'd rather have professionals because my son-in-law came in and tried to pick me up the first time and he couldn't even move me, and, I'm not a heavy person. I said, "Don't bother. Wait till the men get here and let them do it because they know what they're doing." It has been of real help, just to know it’s on my wrist. I'm very independent. I do my own work now. I clean the house. I do the laundry and my own cooking. The Lifeline is a wonderful, wonderful thing because you know you have help right where you're standing. This thing is worth it. I've already recommended it to three different people and they all bought them. I’m thrilled that I've got the watch so that I can call somebody immediately when I have nobody.

My husband doesn't have his anymore, because he’s in an assisted-living place, so he’s got a whole different thing to take care of him.

When I signed up for the Lifeline, I had not realized that you have some competitors which also cry for an extra fee. If you have a problem when you’re out somewhere, that seems almost impossible to me. Actually, I carry the cellphone with me, so if I should fall out in the middle of a parking lot somewhere, I can call 911. So, I’m not really planning to change or anything; I just said it was something I haven’t been aware of when I actually signed up for the Philips. No big deal.

I had developed atrial fibrillation so my daughter thought I should have it. But during the last year or so I've been well and I haven’t needed to use it. I didn't have to push the button. But since my husband passed away a couple of months ago and now that I’m living alone, I feel if I needed, I can just push it and somebody will come. I've had Philips Lifeline for almost four years now and their customer service has been very good. They're good, friendly and helpful. Once there was a woman that came here and she was very helpful.

I've been in and out of the hospital and now I'm living in the nursing home. They've been a great help. They answered a lot of questions that I would have asked. I've had open heart surgery and I've had surgery on my legs... I'm 85 years old so it's really a life saver to me. I feel pleased. I feel like I'm not just here by myself. There's no other person living here with me but I don't feel like I'm by myself because I have help with that. I would recommend it and talk about it all the time. Give it praise 'cause I don’t know what I'd do without it. I depend on it. It's just wonderful. Dependable.

I have a tendency to fall, so my daughter ordered it for me. I just had a couple of times when I've hit it then it goes off. So I don't wear it a lot around the house because I'm afraid to set it off, but I do use it when I take a shower. Everything has been great and I have no problem. One time I got on a too-low stool and I couldn't get up because there was no arm. So they came out. The customer service team was the best. I would recommend them to a friend.

I had a couple of falls and that caused me to be more sensitive to my frailty in life. Philips Lifeline was offered to me through the foundation in the beginning, and I took advantage of it. Having the Lifeline help button, I feel more safe and secure living alone and I can reach someone if I need to. I haven't ever had to use it, which I guess has brought me some good in luck just being here. Their customer service was very good. They were friendly and helpful. When it was first installed, they explained everything to me. I understand fully how the system operated. It's convenient and I'd recommend it. I'm a satisfied customer.

Philips Lifeline gives me security. It's just there and it'll work if I needed it. I have a daughter who lives next door and she stops by all the time, but I live alone and I needed something in case of accident. It gives me a little security at night to know that if I needed, all I have to do is press the button. I'm very satisfied. I would recommend it, definitely.

The only way I could leave the house is if we had something like Philips Lifeline, because my mother is not capable in doing much of anything for herself. If she was to fall or something, picking up the phone and calling up somebody just wouldn't be in her realm. Overall it's pretty good but I think recently, in the last two or three months, it seems that their response time is way slower than it used to be. My mother does the monthly checks but so far she hasn't had to use Philips Lifeline for an emergency. If she was really in need, in an emergency, they'd be too late. I don't know why it changed, but it takes a long time to answer.

I did have an experience with the Philips Lifeline when I fell in the backyard and on the cement when I was playing with my dog and I broke my hip. Thank goodness, my screen doors were open so I punched my button and the signal was able to go through. They got an ambulance out here very quickly and I had to have my broken hip replaced. It was at 9:30 at night so that was a very good experience for me because I would have laid here in the dark for a long time if that hadn't happened. You see all these advertisements for it with, "Help! I can't get up!" and that was actually me. It is just so important to have one. It's just there all the time. I'm almost 90 and my family wanted me to have it because I live alone.

I don’t like the device because of the fact that it might go off, and the beads were just a few but they’re very annoying - I don’t think they’re necessary. In fact, I have landed up with a rash from a couple of them. Also, I was sort of disappointed with the company because they didn’t inform us that when we called them, we landed up paying $200 each time for the ambulance. Service wise, it was good. Once when I had an emergency and called them, they took very good care of it. They had the ambulance and the helpers with them right there. It didn’t take them very long to get here at all.

I got it because of my having a heart attack. It's comfortable to wear and I know it's there if I need it. Our experience with Philips Lifeline has been good and they've always been courteous. One time I fell down in the snow outside and it let them know that something had happened. I was calling my daughter and she was in the house, but couldn't hear me calling her. She heard the line asking if everything was okay and that's how she knew something was wrong.

I really haven't had to use the Philips Lifeline much because I'm much, much better now than when I was when I first got it. It's there and it makes me feel confident. I had some problems that ended up being better than what we thought the outcome was going to be. The only problem I've had with it is when I first got home from the hospital. I put the thing around my neck but I found that it set it off if I would just bend over. So I haven't been wearing it because it seemed so sensitive. It was supposed to go off if you fall but I bent over once and it sent an alarm...

Very good experience so far. Have had no problems with it whatsoever, it looks fine, it's pretty convenient and comfortable. Since I started using Philips I’m more comfortable with being alone, because prior to using it I've taken a few falls. Maybe it would've helped if I had somebody around, but at that time I was younger and was able to get up by myself.
