My husband called me to the computer room where he was sitting in his easy chair in front of the computer. I recognized an emergency sort of sound in his voice. He asked me what is happening, and that he didn't remember anything. I was a bit puzzled but he immediately paused in his speech for a few seconds and then he started talking again. After the third pause, I pressed the button on his emergency Life Alert necklace. An operator immediately came on the line and I asked for an ambulance as my husband was going in and out of consciousness. They answered and said they called an ambulance and it would be here soon. When I got up out of bed and I lost my balance, I fell against the dresser bumping my head and eye, which required stitches at the emergency room. My praises go out to the person taking my info; he was on the line talking to me step by step of what was happening with the fire department and paramedics. I tell everyone about the importance of having Life Alert, especially if living alone or disabled. They were amazed at how alert Life Alert are to the patients.

I started bleeding right away; blood was running down my face. I managed to sit up against the bed, grabbed a pad and soaked it. I called for the ambulance on my Life Alert, and went for my first ambulance ride to the hospital. Thank you.
