About Life Alert
Life Alert was founded in 1987, making it one of the first personal emergency response companies in the United States. The company’s systems have a base hub and a help button that can be worn around the neck on a pendant or wristband. Life Alert advertises that its pendants have a 10-year battery life and don't require charging. Monitoring centers are UL-certified and have the Five Diamond designation from The Monitoring Association.

My mother’s blood pressure was very low. We contacted Life Alert and an ambulance was dispatched quickly. The five EMR’s who reported to the scene were courteous and knowledgeable and took great care of my mother. Life Alert spoke with the EMR’s to ensure my mother was being cared for.

I left to go out of town and my mother decided to boil eggs for breakfast. She then went to sit outside while leaving the stove on. Life Alert was alerted to the smoke in the house and called the fire dept. Life Alert then called me.

My husband woke up during the night experiencing increased breathing difficulty. Our father had fallen in the bathroom while trying to transfer from the wheelchair to the toilet. He was unable to recover, as a result he needed assistance. At the time, he was home alone. I fell in my bathroom about 10:30 PM. Was incapacitated but called on my Life Alert button. Response was quick and stayed on until emergency response came in a locked window- I had a broken rib and punctured lung….it give me comfort as it never needs charging… I’ve had my system three years since my husband passed and it saved me that night. My helper was here. Gave me a shower. Got out the shower. Got my toe tangled in a towel. Helper was very impressed by the courtesy of the dispatcher. She thought you had left the line. She could not believe that you were still on the line until help arrived. She was impressed.

I have a small brand cell phone. I only use very little. I give my number to no one except for family, I use it at night for time. It rang at 12:47 AM on 10-13-2019 at 12:47 AM. I asked caller what they wanted and he said, “I am on your porch”, I did not know who he was. I punched my Life Alert button and they called the police for me and stayed on line until they knew I was safe. Thank god for my Life Alert button. I feel much safer as I live alone.

My husband was working on a project and got engrossed- was sitting in his rolling walker and got too close to the edge of seat and the walker tipped over, taking him with it. He received two pretty serious skin tears on his arm and we called Life Alert. EMS came quickly, assessed the situation- determined no breaks, dressed his wound and took him to the ER to be checked out. He was treated and was returned home. Thankfully no bones cracked or broken. We were thankful for Life Alert!

On Sept 23 I awoke with bad pain. It continued and got worse. I called on my Life Alert machine for help. I was home alone. They send two people plus an ambulance. EMS took me to hospital, where they said I had shingles. The two helpers were great. I’m so glad I have this help. I love this, it is worth what I pay for it. I called Life Alert and told them I need to get my power wheelchair unfolded. I told them I could unfold it halfway and I need to get help to unfold it all the way. The person I connected to was kind and helpful and waited til the help arrived and left. The help were very kind and good looking. They put in the control knob and battery and someone got into chair and tested it for me.

Somehow I knew I wasn’t feeling normal and was going to fall-never had felt like that before. As I went down I pressed my Life Alert button and yelled “help.” I regained my senses three days later in the hospital. I had had a stroke. Records showed I was admitted to the hospital less than two hours after my one call to Life Alert. Without Life Alert, I would have laid on the floor for who knows how many days-I live alone. Thanks to Life Alert I am still able to live at home.

Life Alert has always been here for me even when I push my button by mistake. A couple of months ago my carbon monoxide alarm went off. Life Alert was right here. They called the fire dept. Fire department came right away, checked everything out. It was the smoke from my grill coming through my kitchen window that caused the alarm to go off. I love Life Alert!

I was on my way to the bathroom, when all of a sudden, my whole right side, from my head to my toes, went completely numb. I had my cane with me and just made it to the bathroom. I sat on the seat and pressed the Life Alert button on my necklace. Your person answered immediately and got the fire dept. They unlocked my door and the ambulance was there and got me to the hospital before the stroke I had could do any damage to my brain. Thank you.

My husband fell backwards into the bathroom. The floor there is very slippery and I could not get him up myself. I had tripped over the wheel of my walker and fell down on the slate floor of my front hall and couldn’t get up. I called Life Alert and they called the fire department. Patient was mowing on the east end of the house, where I couldn’t see him. Checked on him, but after I checked - things still happen. He went to get off the mower, caught his pant leg on the steering wheel and down he went, backwards into a rock garden, hit his head on some metal. He was bruised up but nothing broken. I think Life Alert had called me. When I got out there he had already called the paramedics, they came and got him up. He got back on the mower and finished it. My mom did not feel well about 2:30am in the morning. While I live only 12 miles away, Life Alert had called me, and my three friend backups to let them know what was going on. They called me as I was driving dark back roads to get to my mom. They also alerted my friends to what was going on. They let me know when the paramedics arrived to my mom and that they had taken her to the hospital. I was so grateful for their detailed customer service. My sister had Life Alert for 3-4 years. They responded to three calls on her behalf due to falls. They were prompt, courteous and very effective. The call team that notified the family after attending to my sister’s needs were very courteous and effective as well. If the need arises in the family again I would not hesitate to use Life Alert.

In July I used my Life Alert. I had stomach pains for over a week and needed to go to the hospital. Life Alert called an ambulance, my daughter, neighbors and my friend. They stayed with me until the ambulance arrived, and one of them talked to Life Alert. The service couldn’t have been any better.

I told them about my leg, he (Life Alert person) said he would send the police and paramedics, and stayed with me till they got here. About 8 AM on 8/6/19 I was feeding the cats breakfast. One of the cats got in front of me and I fell flat on my face. At 4 AM, I woke up in pain due to a large(10 mil) kidney stone trying to get out! The pain was at 9 ½ so I had my husband push the Life Alert button to get me help! They came on right away and he explained the situation. We are out in farm country and not in a city so your people kept him informed as to how soon they could get here! The three guys in the ambulance were great!

1) I’m 82 years old, live alone, housework alone, trim bushes, good health, UNTIL… 2) I didn’t trip or twist anything, but POW! Woke up on the floor, recognizing the ceiling. Knew two things, couldn’t get up and my [Life Alert] pendant. Immediately, one sentence from pendant, one sentence from me, and I was assured help was on the way. Pendant asked if door key was in same place and I passed out again until reaching hospital. Life Alert explained my meds to EMS- called my family- saved my life.

I experienced a bout of A-Fib, which did not spontaneously cease. Pushed the Life Alert button and EMT’s showed up in 5-7 minutes, checked EKG on site, and transported me to the local hospital ER. One overnight. New RX’s. Checkup appt confirmed. All in all, pretty darn good!

We used Life Alert several times over the past couple months. They were always efficient in calling all the family members and had the ambulance at the house sometimes before we arrived. Very happy with the service.

Three weeks after prolapse rectal surgery, I started hemorrhaging from my rectum in the bathroom - I was terrified. No one home- so I pressed my Life Alert, and quickly called 2 daughters to rush them her. EMS was here very quickly, checked my vitals and took me by ambulance to hospital. I tripped on a mat and fell. I could not get up (bad knees). I pressed the button on my Life Alert pendant. In a few seconds, the operator answered and I told her the situation. 11 P.M. July 2nd or 3rd. Heard footsteps on deck outside my bedroom- then shots? Fire crackers? Not knowing what to do I chose to use my Life Alert button on my wrist. Answer was immediate. I had a very positive experience with Life Alert when I recently fell and broke my hip, I had my button on a chain around my neck- I knew as soon as I fell that I broke my hip. When I pressed the button a wonderful and helpful person answered. I was told she would help me and informed what was happening. This included-the firemen are here- they are opening the garage- the ambulance is on the way. I was told she would stay on the line until I was in the ambulance. It was all very comforting. I fell against the back door of my house. When I realized I couldn’t get up and was blocking the door (which wasn’t locked luckily), I pressed the Life Alert call pendant button- and scooted away from the door. I tripped over my son’s pug dog when getting out of my computer chair. My head hit the closet door, my arm hit the bookcase and I eventually landed on the floor via my shoulder, arm and wrist/hand. At 4:15 AM, I was scared and I also got very upset and couldn’t breathe. My Life Alert went off. The young lady on the other end was very polite to me and also helpful. When I moved into a senior living with pull cords and people to respond 24/7, I tried to cancel my service. I was not allowed to. I was told by the billing department that all they needed was a letter from my new residence confirming that I have an alert system here. We have continually faxed and emailed the letter and they insist they are not getting it. Sending by certified mail today. They are not customer friendly. Buyer beware.
