The Just Energy team that came to my door tried to give people information about them. I've been paying quite a bit more with my electricity and when they saw my bill they were floored. I just started with them so now it's fine. The gentleman came to install a thermostat which came with signing up. That's been a very nice system and very professional. I haven't had any issues with it as far as I've experienced. Everything is good. I'll pay extra for service and I'm saving money. I'm getting great service so, it's a win-win.

A Just Energy rep came to me. He was very good, professional and he did a good job. I was told me that our bill was going to be a little bit lower but I don't see any change. I guess I'll have to wait 'til next month. All I have is half bill and I don't have any other bill underneath because usually it comes in two parts but it would now be just one bill in June. I had ESCO before and the usual bill that I have was just electricity charge. So, I'd have to wait to see if anything has changed next month.

I signed up with Just Energy two weeks ago. My gas bill goes crazy in the winter time wherein I’ll have $160 or $80 gas bill if it’s very cold, so I decided to switch to Just Energy. Their sales rep was good. He said they go from $1.00 to $1.20, wherever DTE buys their gas at so I just locked in at the price. I’m now waiting to see what happens when it kicks over from DTE to them. I haven’t really gotten into my service yet. I haven’t had a bill so I don’t know the savings difference I’m going to have, but so far, I don't have any complaints.

My parents were asking us to stay in the home and take care of the bills for the time being. We stayed with a different electric company there, but then I started getting wild electric charges like whatever they wanted to charge for depending on how much kilowatt hours used, and I was getting right over the cold eight months. In this summer, I had a $200 charge and I was livid. So I called Just Energy and was very happy with what I heard from them. So I wanted to try it.
Their rep, Mitch, was very helpful. We asked questions and he gave me all the information if I needed to cancel before three years and how much I'd be paying for kilowatt hour. He gave me everything, including what the base charge would be for and a smart meter. I also had to laugh at my move-in fee because it was only $2.26. I haven't had a move-in fee for that for anything in 30 years. I also just received my first bill and I'm thrilled. In fact, I'll be telling my neighbor about Just Energy because she struggles every month and it would be beneficial for her.

I have Just Energy for my electricity and they're great. They pretty much worked with me as far as the deposit went. I love the customer service people. They are wonderful and if I'm having a problem they're not going to stop until they find out how to work things out. And they break things down for me because I have seizures so I have a problem with my memory. A couple of times I was frustrated and aggravated when I called and I'm glad they remained calm. I was very happy that they were like that because a lot of people get impatient and I have to explain to them because not everybody can see my disability.

A gentleman came to the door and basically said, "Are you aware of this program that we have to lock in an energy rate?" And I said, "Well, no." But he was fairly persistent, so I said we could talk about it a little bit. I showed him my electric bill and he said I've got a supplier on that, and I said, "Yes. The city negotiated something." And then he says I don't have anything on my gas. That's the only one he hadn't explained - how they're basically a supplier.
I talked to the city a little bit they didn't want to say one way or the other, whether they supported that decision to switch or not. But again, they had chosen a supplier for electric and I thought, "Well, this might be an opportunity to try to lock in supposedly a rate for gas." And so I said, "Okay, that might be good." I've talked to some other people in Paxton and they haven't had any big concerns with Nicor since they are the ones that have the system, so they just go with the rate that they supply. So, I said I was willing to give it a shot if there is a potential savings.
However, I was a little concerned about what they said, that I could sign up for it, but there's no guarantee that I'm going to have a lower rate. That's my only trepidation. If they said they can guarantee that, then that's fine. At the time, it sounded worthwhile. So in the process of doing this, I have to call, somebody calls, or I call their home office to say that I agree. I've yet to really experience much of anything other than getting my first bill, and it seemed like it was just slightly lower than what my previous one was, but I haven't really started using my heat much yet. It'll be interesting to see how I do over the winter months.
There's absolutely no difference in the service because Nicor still manages the service. It's just that Just Energy is on more the supply side. I've noticed that while there is some definite benefit to having that lower with electric, maybe this is a good thing to try. If it saves me money in the long run, why shouldn't I do that? It can't hurt. Just Energy sent me an invite to their website, and I had to sign up for that. They're going to provide two LED lights as a courtesy, and over time, I build up points which I can redeem for various things.
However, there's no guarantee that they can save me money. As a company, if they can get the same kind of guarantee that the electric supplier did for the City of Paxton, then there's definitely even more benefits. That's the only thing I had a little concern about. But the overall experience was reasonable, and I thought it was a good idea.

We were consumers with Green Mountain for a very long time and they had us at 11¢ per kilowatt so we looked for better rates on the internet and Just Energy offered us 9¢. However, our experience started out with some issues because they had us under commercial meters so I was dismayed because I was overcharged for the first 2-3 months. I called their reps and they were helpful but the end result was the same. They told me that it would be changed but it didn’t. And then, another month goes around and it was still under commercial. Then finally, the fourth person I spoke to switched me but cancelled my other plan. I got bills for $2,000 here at my house and the cabin was billed for $400, and the other one for $400, and we never went up our electricity that much.
The person I was on the phone with wasn’t too helpful. But then they switched me to the commercial department and the lady whom I spoke to was very clear as to what was going on. It was changed but it wasn’t noted properly, and that’s why I had that really high bills. So, she corrected the problem to get away with those exorbitant charges they were charging me because I really didn’t cancel my contract. They fixed it up but I’ve yet to see on the next bill if everything is correct now and hopefully, we see savings. Other than that, everything is good.

My bill from Just Energy was $35, but the whole bill came out as $165 because there was PP&L. Just Energy said it's $80 a month and everything unlimited but I got a bill of $165, so I wasn't sure. I didn't know what else the other charges were because the total distribution charges was $55.98 from PP&L, then $59 for total generation and transmission charges. I don't know if they doubled it or it's because PP&L charges other things with them. But overall their team has been good and I'd recommend them.

The Just Energy sales rep walked up to the door, and I ended up going with them because of what she said to me and the savings. Setting it up was okay, but a little lengthy over the phone. The one part I didn't like was she had me go get my phone, then call in and go through everything over the phone with a guy that read a million things to me really fast. I stopped him and asked a couple of questions, then he went into explaining it to me like he had to say everything the second time. Then he had that little tone in his voice like, "You know, lady. What part didn't you get?"
Then I asked the sales rep outside my door if there are no hidden fees as that's just what I wanted to know. She was perfectly well with her details. However, she was really fast, and it was a lot to grasp at first. Luckily, I could keep up with what she was saying. Additionally, she told me she was sending me this email where I was going to get these 5,000 points that I would redeem for a Visa card, but I haven't gotten that yet. They also told me they're going to ship me out some free light bulbs, but I haven't gotten that yet as well. Nonetheless, it was a satisfactory experience and I'd recommend them.

The gentleman that I talked to from Just Energy seemed knowledgeable. He said that he has handled similar situations in the area and did most of the people, owners of rent properties and such, looking for a temporary set up or picking a protector plan. He suggested that I do that, so I did and it was quite neat.
I thought I needed to be at the house in order to see what was left turned on, just to make sure everything is okay when it's turned on. I did not realize it could be done electronically and it wasn't done till after I waited a while and called customer service to see when I might expect this to transpire 'cause the gentleman assured me it would be the same day. Later he asked me to sign a paper, I asked for what? He said, "Just for customers record." After a month I got a letter from AEP (American Electric Power) asking you want to switch AEP to Just Energy? What is Just Energy? I called AEP. I don't know what is just Energy and I don't want to move to it. He said, "It's alright."
After a couple of weeks I received a bill of $150 for early cancellation plus $29 for using Just Energy. Immediately I called Just Energy talked about the bill. She said, "We sent it by mistake. Please neglect it." After some time I got one more bill of same amount and I called them again. I called them at least 4 times regarding the bill and at last I asked for the confirmation number but he said, "I don't have it." Now I have been called from collections department and asks for the bill but why do I pay it which I never used. So never believe Just Energy. It's a ** and if you see people from Just Energy knocking your door just kick their ass.

I moved into an apartment and tried to call the local company to have my electricity turned on. Just Energy was the one that answered the phone, so I went with them. I haven't had an apartment where I paid electricity ever, so it's still new to me and I haven't received the bill yet. They gave me a choice of paying by usage or flat fee. I took the flat fee and if I find out I'm paying too much, then I'd go the other way.

I went on Just Energy website. I was looking at their information and they have lower rates than others. The customer service was really great because the representative that assisted me was really good. She was very efficient and provided me all the information I needed. She helped me understand how the certain plans work. I believe we're on a fixed rate plan now and she further explained that so I appreciated it a lot. I called the customer service again because I was confused about my electricity being turned on. But then I realized, it's because it was already turned on. I already recommended it to other people as well.

My electric bill is cheaper with Just Energy than it is with TXU which I had before. The only thing I didn't like was that I was on hold for over 20 minutes the last time I tried to get in touch with them. Then, when I finally got somebody, we got disconnected and they didn't call me back. I called them again and was set on hold for long, then finally I got through to somebody.
I have to punch the numbers like I'm coming through as a new customer in order to get anybody to answer the phone. If I press as an existing customer and say that I have questions or like terminating service at my old address, I would be set on hold there for more than 30 minutes. Then it said, "If you would like a return call. Press a certain number." The computer-generated voice would then give a date that they'll call back two to three days later, not even in the same day. I was very unhappy with the computer crap. I'd rather speak to a live person when I call than a computer and set on hold. But other than that, everything else is great. I'd recommend Just Energy because of their rates.

I knew what was up from the get-go but I decided to play dumb to see how far this guy would go to make a sale. When I asked him again where he was from he quickly mumbled, "Just Energy," and pointed to something on his shirt that said "Just Energy." I told him I was with KW Hydro, and he said, "Yeah, Just Energy. We just need to check your bill to make sure the peak hours have been taken off." Me - "Why?" Him - "We just want to make sure you're not being overcharged for your hydro." Me - "So what do you need from me?" Him - "To see your hydro bill." Me - "Is this that thing where you want me to sign a contract to buy hydro in bulk?" Him - (sigh) "Yeah." Me - "I'm good. Thanks." And that was that.
I am taking the time to write this review because this service rep tried to make me think he was from my hydro provider and when I asked clarifying questions his answers were short and quickly followed by questions of his own, a distraction technique used by shady salesmen. Always be wary of unsolicited visitors folks. 99% of the time they're trying to get something from you.

My grandma signed up with Just Energy five years ago, and they told her she would get a flat rate of $500/month. That did not hold up if the house used too much energy, turned out Just Energy would charge more. This was probably in the contract, but it was never said to my grandmother. They pushed themselves making her believe that she was getting a good deal. That was not the case; she was on a fixed income and barely making ends meet.
Then she died two years ago and my aunt was taking care of the bills since she had passed, and finally my aunt came to me and asked if the utility bill was right. I find out that not only were they charging a rate of $.0899 kWh they added another charge $.025kwh on top of .0899 that is not shown anywhere on her contract. They call it a Green energy option, which I am not sure why they feel it was necessary to add since they were already overcharging her. That .025 (Green Energy Option) is something I will be following up on. That feels like theft, but I will find out.
Then on top of overcharging my dead grandmother, I finally got a hold of them and told them I want to close this account, of course, they need a death certificate, and now they are taking their sweet time to cancel. It has been over five business days since I sent them proof of her death and now they see losing money on a dead person. Also, when I sent them the death certificate, the reply email said they would contact me within two business days. That was lie!! No accountability.

He asked to see my bill from Direct Energy and when I showed it to him, he confirmed that I could save a lot of money by switching to JUST ENERGY, a new company founded after the deregulation of utilities that offered rock bottom pricing.
Today I was shocked to find I have been paying up to 58% over the going rates! Gas should be about $3.79 Gj, electricity should be about $5.79 KwH. Doing some research, I found numerous news articles reporting fraudulent practices by this company and a sordid tale of deceit by Rebecca MacDonald the founder. I've been overcharged and feel cheated and abused.
Rebecca MacDonald, the CEO of the company has admitted to lying about her past and misleading people. She learned the effectiveness of door-to-door sales from her late husband and applied it to the dull and boring world of utility billing...and pulled millions in on a scam including me. A class action has been launched by the hundreds of sales agents claiming they didn't get treated fairly. I'm furious that we've been paying scalping rates for utilities, and many Albertans out of work are suffering and continuing to pay. An agent came to my house last March 2016 and found my kids there. He asked to see our electric bill and sweet talked my daughter to sign a contract with my name on it. Is that legal? When I arrived home in the afternoon, I was upset and we called Just Energy to cancel it. I told them that it's not me who signed it. The customer service agent who answered said its ok anyway it's not yet confirmed. We never receive a phone call or letter as confirmation so all we know is it's cancelled. We did not receive also the free thermostat because we cancelled it.
But you know what, we received our Toronto hydro bill yesterday and wow, our bill doubled and it says there, "Supplied by Just Energy". I called them again last night and ask them why and they said there's no cancellation received. It's really a SCAM. Milking people with their hard earned money. How do they take over your electric supply without confirmations from their victims? How come the government is allowing this people to operate? Be careful with this bloodsucking agents of Just Energy.

Why do I pay so much every two months for hydro and water. Before my husband passed away in 2014 I think that was when he signed up and I'm not happy at all! All winter long I pay over $435 for hydro and water and I only use after 7pm and only cold water. Hot water is only used for showers and washing dishes. I don't water a lawn! That's without using air conditioner as well. I want out of the contract. P.S. Is order number the account number on the bill?

A salesman came to my door, stated that he was with my electric company and needed to see my page 2 of my bill to verify my charges and my electric rate to make sure they were correct because there have been complaints about my service. My first clue was that he wasn't who he claimed to be was his pitch (if there was a problem with my bill it would be me calling them, not them just showing up. Second if he was with the electric company he would already have access to my bill. Finally his polo shirt had a Just Energy logo).
None of this added up so not being able to find my bill was a blessing. It gave me enough time to call my electric company and verify that he was a fraud and misrepresenting both companies and just wanted to scam. Please always verify with your company and research what you're being pitched. I could have easily been scammed like most on here. I trusted my instincts and that was the right thing to do.

This company rips people off by sending the bills late or missing bills (blaming the customer that we should know that we have to pay every month. PEOPLE CANNOT GUESS THIS CONSTANTLY FLUCTUATES. I have done mail and email. People do not pay you to just distribute electricity, they pay you for customer service. When I say I am no longer going to be with Just Energy they beg me and want to give me a better rate?!? I signed up with this company and let me tell you it was trouble from the start. For one l signed up for one year and all of the sudden my plan was for two years. After I started service I received a letter from Oncor about two weeks after I signed up with this company stating that my electricity will be turned off because I don't have a provider (now if I have a ACCOUNT NUMBER HOW COULD I NOT). Then my first bill was 175.00 and I was hardly home and of course they had an excuse for that. My second bill was $292.86 and when I asked the rep tried to argue with me about using the heater and that was the cause of my bill being high. I explained that I don't use the heater like that and keep it at 70 which is fine with me since my windows are covered with curtains to insulate the heat.
But this is the kicker. Once I got thru to someone who decided to tell the truth on how their game works and here it goes how they get over on the public: They claim that you have an automatic 10 day grace period that is granted to you, (a normal person would think that the grace period starts from the date the bill is due example 02/16/2016). Here's the scheme - the so called 10 automatic grace period is before the actual due date of the bill so there is no grace period. I was told that the grace period starts from the date the bill was generated which makes no sense. How in the hell are you giving me a grace period if the dang bill not even due yet.
(This is not the kicker, here we go). If you don't pay your bill by the due date it is considered late, automatic $40.12 added to your bill. They charge $25.00 for a delinquent notice, so now we're at an additional $65.00 added to your bill. These people are scammers and you will regret it if you sign up. I have made the decision to just pay the 175.00 which is cheaper than my fake ass bill they tried to stick on me. All in all don't do business with these people you will regret it. I would give them a negative 10 if I could.

All utility companies are regulated by the State Public Utility Commission. If your bills are not accurate or you receive deceptive marketing material, unfair debt collection, don't just go elsewhere, it's important that your concerns and complaints are reports. Once the PUC or the AG receives enough complaints they must investigate. The above are Consumer Protection Divisions. They do not read these forums or boards and have no clue unless people actually take the time to file a complaint.
I've discovered most people are just too lazy to file complaints and as a result these corporations allowed to trample over your rights. If you refuse to make the effort to file formal complaints, don't come on these boards and complain expecting something to be done. Corporation count on your laziness. Long story short, I did sign, but Monday morning, one "business" day within my 3-day right to cancel a contract, I made calls to Just Energy and my current provider to cancel. Just Energy gave me a cancelation transaction code and said I will not be charged anything and I will be canceled. I learned that the rep at my door, Sat. expedited the switch, to switch me today, obviously within my 3-day cancellation period. When I called my current provider to explain and let them know I did NOT WANT to switch, my current provider found only the switch request from Just Energy, NOT my cancellation notice.
I am told by my current reputable company that I am set, will not see any interruption to my service and am in place to stay and not be switched. For this I was given a real transaction code for my call. As for what I anticipate from Just Energy, from reading all the reviews on here, and feeling like I have just been taken, I anticipate more harassment, possibly some bogus bill from Just Energy, etc. We will see.

Just cancelled with these guys. Brutal sales and deceiving. Do not use them at all. They will tell you that they are giving you price protection on your plan in that you will never be chartered more than 7.99 per kW on electricity or 3.49 on Gj on gas. However, what they don't tell you is that those prices are fixed. When the market is lower you are still charged the fixed rate. I have just been charged 7.99 per kW when the market is just over 5.00. They are making 3.00 per kW. Now they'll tell you how the charges may exceed past $8 yet they never tell you when that has happened.
I've seen it during the summer months, but that shouldn't be a problem seeing that there is more sunlight. Therefore, you are using less electricity on lights. During the dark months, it usually sits around $5-$6. So they scam you for most of the year at 7.99 and only one or two months the price may exceed $8 but only when there is more sunlight. Then they go on to tell you that natural disasters could potentially change the market price. We've just gone through a flood and our prices have not broken the $8 range. They sell fear and possibilities. But never do they entertain the thought that you would save more money by not paying for their fear mongering sales tactics.

We were told by her that we did not have to sign a contract and then she tried to get one of my tenants to sign a 3 yr contract. After he said "No, Thank you" and kindly declined.
She moved upstairs to another tenant ~ an 80 yr old woman in my building. I told her to leave my building. She said she would and stayed. After I called the police she then finally started to leave my building. As she walked down the stairs past me... she yelled and screamed in my face and shoved her Just Energy badge in my face. She was extremely pushy, very aggressive, and unbelievably rude. She called me "ugly" as soon as she walked out my front door. Her and her coworker stood outside my building swearing and screaming at us. My husband asked them to leave and to both stop yelling and swearing outside our window at us, because we do have a 10 yr old little girl who was trying to do her homework and was extremely frightened by the two of them standing, yelling and swearing at us outside our window.
Brittany's coworker screamed to my husband it was all because of his dumb ass. Then Brittany ** and her co-worker walked by my front door and seen me standing there on the phone trying to make contact with Just Energy to make a complaint (Just Energy was closed). Brittany's co-worker asked her, "Is this the ** you’re talking about!?" I said to her that I was going to make a complaint to Just Energy and that I called the police. Just Energy refused to credit my account, due to Oncor sending them an estimated bill. I don't have average billing, they replaced my bad meter, and wants to send someone out a week late to test my meter to bill me off of my current reading from a previous billing cycle. Jose the manager with Just Energy was very rude and unprofessional, over talked me and didn't want to hear me out. All he did was point the blame at Oncor, and said they bill me off what they send them. He never addressed my problem, or tried to resolve it. Why have a meter tested, that has been replaced, because of the previous meter not communicating with the system?
Of course the new meter is going to read accurately, I commented it wasn't fair for me to be billed on an estimation and the meter wasn't working. His reply was "We don't bill off of estimation, we bill off of what Oncor sends over to them". Which is fine, but I don't have average billing, two Oncor don't have a date they sent over my usage, just an order date to check my meter. They didn't have any number to bill me off of. Fine all I was asking for was an adjustment be made to my account and all Just Energy could do was point the finger at Oncor. All he wanted to do was to follow protocol. Ask for his boss and he said he was the highest ranking there. Ask for corporate info said he couldn't give that out and then he didn't have it. I notified him that I would be filing a complaint and doing a customer review on him and his company.
I have had two estimated bills and he said he only see one from the previous month. I asked "So Oncor lied and said I have had 2 estimated bills". He said "I don't know". I told him "They just told me that". He said "All I see is 1". However, he was not helpful at all and then tell me I may have been undercharged, and I have been using my ac unit less. It is cooler now and of course my bill should decrease not increase. And I've been using less energy, However everyone be on the look out for estimated bills and non-working meters. Check your meter from time to time to make sure it works and it has power. Hope this was a help for new customers searching for a provider and for current ones as well.

As a new mover to Houston, I was referred to Just Energy by the property management. It is a terrible mistake for me to follow the suggestion without checking the review online first! Their unethical practice is as below: Unauthorized charges and purposely designed confusing bill - Various bogus charges are embedded in the bill without detailed listing. Consequently, you either pay it without notice or call the customer service to find out the detailed charges.
Extreme difficulty to get hold of a customer service representative. The phone number on the bill does not accept the calls if your phone has the new area codes. Even though you may find an alternative phone number after googling it, you will need to wait for at least 30 minutes to start to talk with someone in the right department. Then it will take another 30 minutes to get to your questions. Their office closes at 6:00 pm. How many working professionals will have the time to have this one hour at work to do so?
Despicable practice to track people with contract. After you identify the fraud in their bills, they will transfer to you another department with a lower rate and free from these bogus charges. But you need to sign another 12-month contract with them. For the bogus charges you found, they will not refund as you already paid for it before. They will refund only if you catch it in the 1st or 2nd month! I am now in the contest period. They claimed that they will pull out the phone record to see whether these bogus charges were previously communicated to me. I requested the record to be sent to me via email. Yesterday marks the 3rd annual visit for Just Energy at my doorstep. The very first time I encountered Just Energy I was a little confused by his motives. Because my mother was not home at the time, I sent him off and have him come back. Knowing that I'm not the kind of person to believe everything I hear, I immediately looked at the reviews online and found out that this whole company was bogus.
Fortunately for us, he never came back, much to my dismay as I was going to have a thing or two to say to him. Unlike all these other reviews, I don't get this very often. I think in the last three years I've gotten it once a year. Last year my mother answered the door and, gullible as she was, answered all of their pathetic questions. She got mad at me and sent me off because I was screaming at her to "SEND HIM AWAY! IT'S A SCAM!" Thankfully, she ended up not doing it out of perhaps divine intervention or her having that ONE day where she was just too lazy to look for a bill.
Yesterday my brother and I were playing League of Legends and a Just Energy lady knocked on my door. Before answering it, I immediately recognized who she was through the blinds and knew exactly how to deal with her. I was also prepared to slam the door on her as I know too well how marketing works... Ignore the smokescreen they throw at you and continue to pursue them to buy your product. A smokescreen being something like ignoring them say "I'm not interested" until they say it twice or thrice. I opened the door and she began saying maybe a few lines and I said "...we're not interested." I began to close the door, and as predicted, she said "not interested in what?" I ignored and politely closed the door. She walked off like 10 seconds later.
My brother then said "Wow. You are so rude. You don't have to slam the door on people." I immediately said "It's not my fault. You wouldn't understand. You have to have a thick skin for scammers." He was like "How do you know she was trying to scam us?" I was like "Does it really matter? If you don't believe me, Google it." He finally said "You were still mean." I then said "No I wasn't. I merely abided by natural law. Dealing with scammers is like being I'm a fist fight... Manners, liberties, and rights are automatically ceased after you throw the first punch. When that happens, it is no longer illegal to fight back. The same is true for scammers. When they show up acting all shady, I no longer reserve the right to simply 'be nice' to them. They lost that privilege immediately when they tried scamming me." Hope this review helps.

Obviously this company is bad news!! They have ZERO business looking at ANYONE's bills!!!! I obviously didn't show him my receipts nor sign up with them, so I have no order number or receipt.

I made the mistake of not checking the reviews of this company. I signed up with them and did not get a bill for my home and my business. When my electricity went off, I reached them by phone and complained that a bill was not send or even a disconnect notice. Realizing how angry I was in 100 degree heat, I paid the bill and the electricity was on in 2 hours. I have never been disconnected from a utility in my life. A month later and still don't have a bill for both accounts. I plan on going to their office on my day off and hopefully not get disconnected again. The worse part is my bill has almost doubled from my previous provider and without a bill, I have no idea why.

The customer service is horrible. First you go through an automated system and it takes anywhere from 10-60 minutes to talk to a real person... I travel for work often, and wanted to have autopay set up. Three times I called to have this done! It worked the first time for 3 months, then stopped when I moved apartments within the same building. They shut my power off when I was out of town and it killed 20+ fish in my aquarium. The exact same thing happened a second time two months later. Each time they say they have no record of me setting up autopay. At this point I cancelled my service and went to Pennywise (much better customer service). Just to add insult to injury, these losers want to charge me a $405 early cancellation fee of my service. They're horrible and the customer service is extremely incompetent... Stay away...!!

The caller ID came up with a female first name and clearly ethnic last name, with a local number. When I answered and learned it was a male from Just Energy, I asked him about the deceptive decoy number. He claimed it was a meaningless phone service glitch. The thing is, two weeks earlier, I had a similar situation in which a woman's name and local number appeared, but it was a male agent from Just Energy, and he also claimed it was just an error, not sneaky. Both callers were rude, obnoxious, and aggressive; I finally had to hang up to get rid of them. When I tried calling the number given, it answered with a generic "please leave a message for [#]." This is clearly not a reputable firm. Be warned.

I literally just returned home from a Dr. appt with my three girls and had a knock at the door. The young man was definitely out of his element. He was short, dark skinned, and wearing a Just Energy hat, polo, and name tag (LN: **). My family and I have just moved into low income housing after a tragedy struck my family just months earlier and have had scams occur almost daily since our move here. This man asked if I was the person in charge of handling the electric bill, to which I responded "yes". He said that he was with the company Just Energy, an affiliate of AEP - my provider and pretty much the only provider in this area. He said that he needed to come in and take a look at my energy bill because we should be receiving a discount and he needed to make sure this was happening. I told him that we were busy and that it was not a good time. He asked when he could come back and I just told him I did not have an answer for him and shut the door.
He was not rude about it, but I figured if his company worked with AEP, as he stated, then he would not need to see my bill, he would have already had access to that information. I have an education and have worked as an office manager for a large business, so I dealt with scams like this all the time. It's just not worth being hassled over and I truly do not understand why a sales rep would try to do business in a low income neighborhood.

Just Energy comes to my door trying to sell their services at least once a month. The very first time they came, I was persuaded into signing up with them. They informed me that should I change my mind, I would have 30 days to cancel - No fees and no strings attached. I chose to cancel within the 30 day period as I was happier with Enmax. At this point Just Energy had cancelled my Enmax account, without my permission. I had to pay re-activation fees with Enmax. To add salt to the wound, I received a bill from Just Energy a month later for a couple hundred dollars.
I called them to have it cleared up, the girl on the phone argued with me and finally said she would remove the charge. Now ONE YEAR later I just got a call from a debt agency saying Just Energy sent them an outstanding bill from me and they are calling to collect the debt and it will now affect my credit rating!!! WOW. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH JUST ENERGY, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. Stick with Enmax and you will be a lot happier and more secure. Should've known not to sign anything when the kid who was trying to sign me up was smoking a cigarette on my doorstep.

Very disappointed with this service. I am paying twice the amount since I joined Just Energy. The cancellation fees is $500 and it takes 3 billing cycles to cancel.
